The oven doesnt work. It goes on but it doesnt stay at the temperature I click. About five parts have been replaced and it still doesnt work. I have to keep waiting weeks and months to get it serviced again. I have talked to numerous people and I still dont have an oven that works. This has been since day one. Im not happy with the service.

Weve had a lot of problems with the Viking range. The repairman has been here twice. The hinges on the door have not worked properly. When you close the oven door, it kind of falls loose again a little bit. The lights are on all the time. The guy put in new hinges but the oven wouldnt turn on. It was some computer part. Ive been super disappointed.

I have a 6 burner dual fuel in TX and a 30 gas Viking in Seattle. Love cooking on both! The temperature control on all burners is far superior to the Dacor we gave away. Even heat in the oven is great for baking.

I’ve owned three Viking Ranges before and it’s less expensive than a Wolf. For the dollar, the qualitys okay. I would probably have a different type of seal around the burner, a different oxider paint on the grating on the top, a more commercial look or feel to it as well as the balance of internal oven temperature to change its quality. But I like that it’s got a good clean look from the front appearance and its ability to find different configurations on the top burner versus flat top versus grill.Right now, I’m waiting 16 days for a service from the dealer for fulfillment on it. The hinges on the oven door are not working properly. They’ve passed me off to a secondary person, which is from elite to American which is their repair install group. Also, the first Viking fridge that I bought did not hit temp ever and it took over a week to get back up. I also bought a Viking refrigerator drawer set that as full and brand new box set, and it broke down, and they would not repair it. It was too expensive for the warranty to work, so they wanted to credit me back my money. It was a poor experience with their dealer.

Ultimately, everything with Viking went well. It was kinda frustrating there for a little while. It was tough to figure out who I should be dealing with because they do their service calls through another company. It was confusing to know how I should be kinda contacting. I bought my range from an appliance dealer where in the book that came with it, it said, “You have a two-year warranty from date of purchase.” And so, it was within the two years. I submitted to have it serviced and they said it wasn’t valid because it was more than five years after the manufacturing date. I had to really fight multiple people on that. So, it was kind of a pain. But they said, “You know what? We squared it away. We figured it out.” And they honored it and then they came and eventually serviced it and its working great now.The issue was the fan that removes the heat away from the oven was faulty. So, it wouldn’t get rid of all the necessary heat and it would get too hot in that area, and the safety mechanism would shut off the oven. It couldn’t be above a certain temperature for more than like 30 minutes or it would shut itself off because the heat wasn’t being taken away efficiently enough. The oven itself is great. Even the fact that it broke, I understand things happen like that. It was just a pain dealing with their customer service. It was really frustrating. And one of the reasons I bought it was for that warranty, and then when I thought they weren’t gonna honor it, I was not happy. But I love my Viking. Its accurate, it does everything I need, and it looks great. Everything about it is great. So, I really like the oven.

We like our Viking range. We like the extra burners and the large surface on the top. The cleanup has been okay. The only thing is we smell some gas when its on Convection Bake. One of the burners had problems with the igniting, but I was able to adjust it and get it to work properly. The quality is good overall. As far as performance goes and the quality of manufacturer, those also seem good. Were happy with our range. It fits our space and I would recommend it to people in a similar situation. I just dont think its for everybody. Its very pricey.

I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.

I put a gourmet kitchen in our house and Viking is the brand of appliance that I wanted around our stove. The stove, dishwasher, double oven, and microwave were fine. But Ive had problems with the refrigerator and the wine refrigerator and Ive had the appliance store at our house. For the refrigerator, this will be the fourth time, and for the wine refrigerator, twice. After paying the amount of money for all my appliances, Id like to have them working correctly. Im hoping that this next fix, when the technician comes out, is going to resolve the issues.

I’m in real estate and I see Viking refrigerators at homes and I thought they were consistent kind of somewhat to Sub-Zero, but they’re horrible. The fridge keeps breaking as far as the doors and the cooling system and the ice machine doesn’t work. I made lots of phones calls and I’ve been talking to their customer service team several times. They ordered the parts that were in back order and took months to get here. The first time something broke, I was without the doors and the condiment shelving for about three months. And when I called, they said they’re still in back order and they couldnt tell me when they’d get here. Finally, they got here. And a month later, two more things broke. The cooling system has broken twice and the freezer stopped cooling once. And then I had to wait for parts for that to come in. I lost hundreds of money in food over the several times when it was broken and we didn’t have a fridge. It’s a really bad experience with the quality of the product, customer service and repairs. They should have items in stock that don’t take three to four months to get, especially when I’m spending $13,000 on a refrigerator. The timeframe to get the part or get the service company to come out is pretty frustrating overall. And they need to improve the product. I would not recommend it to anybody.

I knew about Viking Ranges long ago from listening to my clients. After pricing the products towards the end of the year, Viking had a better promotion. I picked the range that I wanted online, went in, and paid for it. My favorite about it is its easiness of use, though I had expected more with the range’s quality for the price that I spent on it. But everything was perfect with Viking. They were also very good about sending someone to fix the range when one of the burners wasn’t working. It took them a couple of weeks to send somebody out.

We wanted to have a nice Viking refrigerator as we thought it would be better than its competitors. I like the idea that when you open the door, it has the temperature and all of those little controls. The first thing we didn’t like about it was that it didn’t have a water dispenser on the inside or the outside but that hasn’t proven to be a big problem. Another issue is that when the ice falls into the bin, it’s pretty loud. My wife has more issues with it. One time there was some kind of leak and all the ice melted together. We had a nice relationship with the dealer except that when we got the refrigerator and found out there was no water dispenser, we called them and he never called us back. After a while, we just got used to it and I was disappointed in that. He was a good friend when we were buying from him but after we bought it, he didn’t wanna be bothered. But overall, we’re happy with the refrigerator and we don’t have any big deals about it.

The appliances were installed in July, including a built in refrigerator and freezer, a six-burner stove top, a double oven, a warming tray, a dishwasher and a microwave oven. Three service calls to fix unbalanced ice drawer in freezer. Three service calls regarding the dishwasher which is not yet repaired. I am awaiting a part for the refrigerator, which is leaking onto a brand new floor and brand new wood cabinets. Viking is stating that that part is on back order and they have no information as to how long it will take to get it.

We bought a home that was completely renovated three and a half years ago and the decorator and contractor chose all Viking appliances for the home. We have a wine refrigerator, regular refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, wall oven, range with a small oven, big oven, hood and stovetop. We have had a couple of issues with the big refrigerator we have. The first time, the meat or vegetable drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator section froze and ruined the vegetables, and we had someone out a couple of times to look at it. Finally, they said there was nothing they could do to fix it, so we increased the temperature for the overall refrigerator. It’s keeping the vegetables from freezing but the refrigerator is not at the suggested temperature. Also, the hinge on the bottom right of the refrigerator has gone bad and the door squeaks when it opens and closes. But I like having separate drawers. It’s a great idea as long as it works the way it’s supposed to. Over the past week, we spoke with a gal named Veronica in customer service and she was great. We would have been normally forwarded to the warranty department but they were closed, so Veronica took the initiative to go to her supervisor and we were well-taken care of. That’s why we would buy another Viking appliance. I didn’t think the squeaking would be a big deal to fix but they have to put a whole new hinge and it costs $800. Viking is coming to fix it and they’ve been great about it ‘cause we’re just outside the warranty time. Everybody at Viking has been very good so I don’t mind if things go wrong if the company takes care of it. They haven’t come to fix the refrigerator yet, but Viking is doing a great job at taking care of the customer and that’s the most important.

My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since
My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since they became available commercially. It was about the same price as its competitors but its the one I always dreamed of having. I wanted a six burner and the one I received from Viking is incredible. I love it. My old range was a Kitchenaid and with it, I couldnt run the burners on top and the oven at the same time. I would get a power failure and at that time, that was allegedly a good range. So I wanted something that was not going to crap out on me. We just had Thanksgiving and with the Viking Range, I had at least five burners going in the oven and everything was perfect. But when I purchased it from a retail store, it was a mess. I had complaints and they kept not wanting to put me through Viking. They kept telling me that Viking wouldnt do anything about it because the ovens got to have many things wrong with it. They also kept saying they could repair it and when we were down to the 6th thing that needed to be repaired, finally they sent the email with my complaints to Viking. Once Viking got involved, I had a new stove within two weeks. And because the range and the refrigerator are only separated by a small-ish cabinet, I also told them that when the refrigerator came in, it had a big bash on the side. Again, I had a new one in five days. So the people at Viking were incredibly responsive and based on my experience, we should watch out for the retail outfit that we get our Viking products from.

Use of 48 inch range - The Cobalt blue range is beautiful. The burners and oven works very well. Two flaws (1) the large oven has three racks with only one that completely pulls out making it difficult to clean the back of the other two. Cooking a large turkey looks to be a problem. (2) The all gas range does not have a self cleaning option. We smell gas for a few minutes when the oven is turned on.

I have the old Viking Professional series range and I really like that the oven is hot and the burner is very strong. I also use the broiler a lot for cooking. The power of the stove is very important to me. I changed the old one because the fire doesnt start anymore. I chose a different series since I wanted to have a five-burner, however, it is not as good as the old one. I cant believe Viking used rubber for some of the parts and it melted and fell off, even though its only been two months. I called the dealer and they ordered the parts for me. Hopefully, it will go back in. Right now, the grate wobbles since theres no rubber underneath to prevent it from scratching. The materials used for making the grate is cast-iron material which is very hard to clean. Anything that touches it leaves marks. Also, after cooking, theres a fan to cool off, but it goes on for a very long time. Next is that the oven takes much longer to cook. If Im making a chicken for one hour, I have to add 10 more minutes and it doesnt reach the temperature that it promised. Another is the knobs. Theyre metal so they turn very hot and burn me. Also, the print for the temperature and the off and on came off from the rubber. I have had the old range for 10 years, but I have never seen such bad quality printing. It doesnt look like it has been properly done. Hopefully, these knobs will last better. There are a lot of flaws with this series and since its a stove, I cant return it. But if people are looking for temperature similar to a strong fire on a stove, then this Viking range is good.

It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. I truly love my Viking range. I got it for less than half price, so I was happy. It was a floor model, an upgrade for a good price for what I was planning on getting for our kitchen, and it looks awesome. I use it a lot. I just wish it had a lower blow. It is kind of thermonuclear sometimes. Also, I wish that the oven would heat up a little faster. It seems to take longer than the range we had before, which was a much lower end. Other than that, it is all good. I would totally tell people to go for Viking.

We were looking for refrigerators when remodeling our kitchen, and I liked the inside of the Viking. I wish I hadnt picked Viking though. After 12 years, we had to replace the refrigerator. We have the double that are side by side, which was extremely expensive in replacing it. And now, its been double the price. So, I dont have good feelings about Viking. I would never buy it again. We paid to have it fixed once or twice, which was very expensive. I had found the quality to be very poor. There was something wrong with our freezer door, which the freezer mechanism has already been replaced as well at great expense. I complained immediately about the refrigerator when it was put in. It should have been replaced. The door was faulty. I was put through so many hoops. We finally gave up. That door should have been replaced from the beginning, and then we wouldnt have had this problem. They wanted to charge us $600 to come out to look at it before they even replaced it after we had already spent money and had it evaluated by somebody they approved of. They were charging us again. They should come and take both of the refrigerator and freezer out and replace them. Im very unimpressed. Im disappointed with Viking refrigerator and freezers.

I hear about Viking Refrigerators everywhere. I hear about it online, I talked to people that bought my appliances. I go to the store and they show me the good one. I liked Viking for the size and the quality of the way the freezer was put together. It doesn’t have all those get your cherry coffee or pressurized in 12 different ways because those were the things that always break down and we don’t care about. Also, Viking has a good reputation. However, the stainless steel is impossible to clean decently and keep streak-free. It’s horrible. You can’t buy a good refrigerator with stainless steel anymore. It kinda breaks my heart. Also, the fridge gets too cold for gentle stuff that you put towards the back where the cold air comes out and that’s always been an issue. I thought it wouldn’t be with my fridge, but it is so I just raise the temperature. When the fridge was installed, I had Viking come out because it was making too much of the little gurgling noise that it has a reputation for making and I felt it seemed excessive. An authorized service representative came out, played with it for about an hour, pulled it out, plugged and unplugged it, couldn’t find anything wrong, then left. I then noticed after he left that the small panel at the bottom of the freezer was not reattached correctly and I was unable to do it myself because I was afraid I was gonna break it.I called the service people back and then they gave me a hard time saying that, “Well, the same guy that came out has to come out again. He can’t come out until after New Year,” etc etc. And I said, “But he didn’t do anything. I just need someone to look at this and reattach it.” He didn’t make any changes or any adjustments or anything that needed to be reevaluated or rechecked. He just plugged and unplugged it and said, “I don’t hear any gurgling noise,” and left. I didn’t like that. So I called Viking and said, “This is unacceptable. I don’t see any reason why someone can’t get out here quicker because nothing really was done.” Viking called the authorized service dealer who immediately called me back and sent someone out that same day which I very much appreciated. That was just excellent of Viking to do that.A second guy came out and it turned out that the freezer panel door was warped, and the thing at the bottom that didn’t attach correctly when the first guy came out., was damaged. All of that has been reordered and I was supposed to hear from them a week or so ago about coming out to replace those items and I haven’t. I’m still waiting to hear back from them, but their services were good and they stand behind the product.

We bought our Viking range when we built our house and wanted good range. So we purchased a 36 with a griddle and 4 burners. The problems started 3 months into the lift of the range with the oven igniters failing. The serviceman said these do wear out and this is common - not something you really want to hear this early in use. This happened a couple of more times under the warranty period and as soon as the warranty period ended, I have my first $300 service call to replace them. After 2 of those calls ($600), I started replacing myself with Viking parts, and soon switched to non OEM parts from Ebay that actually lasted longer. Spent some time on the Viking service/support line on the root cause and was told that I probably had dirty power, so I had a electrician check it out and reported all was fine. I have not mentioned that the burners also burned through and needed to be replaced twice in the course of this as well as well as the burner igniter that never stops sparking after the burner is lit. The hinges on the oven door have now broken and rather than spend a couple of hundred dollars on this, we have decided to finally invest in a new range. It is most disappointing when you spend nearly $6000 on a range, but when you have to put in $500/ year to keep in working properly, it is just ridiculous. So today, we have decided not to invest one more penny in the stove and go shopping for a new range. Sad to say, but the experience of the top notch Viking was a very bad experience. I long for the old gas range from our last house. The best part is that this is my first online review. As I was looking for new ranges, I just happened across this discussion and if I can prevent one other person from wasting their time/money on a Viking range, I have done a service. I wish someone had saved us.

Viking was supposed to be a quality brand. Ive had the range for a year now and its not properly working. Ive had to have repairman after repairman in and out of my home and the problem is still not resolved 100% so its a bit of an issue. After nine months of not working properly, they decided to replace the whole range. And now, the parts that I had purchased that are supposed to fit the same year dont fit because a piece of it is warped. We finally got the other oven working because I didnt have both sides working for a whole year. And now that we finally got it working, the griddle that they replaced it with is warped. They had someone come out and look at it and it needed to be replaced. But Vikings saying that he didnt say that it was warped when I was standing right there and he did say it. They said that theyre not replacing it basically. So now, I have a warped griddle that I cant cover.I thought I was buying a luxury piece of equipment for my home and now its just been one thing after another and no ones been helpful. I havent heard from them for probably two to three weeks on what theyre going to do about the warped griddle so I just have another defective piece of whatever. It would be nice if I could go back and if they would refund me and I would purchase a completely different brand so that I could get some customer service.

I’ve owned Viking Refrigerators for a while. Ive had my old one for 20 years and I bought a new one due to its brand and reliability. I also like its look. Ive had my new one for about three months. But the quality becomes questionable after 10 or 15 years and it becomes very expensive to maintain. Also, the issue with the two I have right now is that with the way they are designed, regardless of the temperature, everything freezes over in the top shelf. Everything gets slushy, especially beverages. It almost makes the top shelf unusable and I have to move all beverages to the bottom. I can only store limited stuff up there, otherwise, it’s gonna freeze over. They should at least have a cover on there. Also, they should extend the warranty.

We were replacing our old Thermador and I assumed Viking was a fairly good product. I like the look of them but I’m a little disappointed. It is not very good and I would tell others to rethink their decision to buy one. My oven has been installed for two months and I have had repairmen here for the last two months as well. Hinges on the oven were bent. They finally came and fixed that. But they had to get the feet for the oven because they didn’t have them when they installed the oven. Now, I’m having a problem with my burners. It has taken me two visits and they’re still not fixed. And every time they come out, there is a time period in between of two weeks. Then the repairman was telling me today that it is going to take probably another two weeks. When he came out previously, he seemed to have been of the forethought that what he was being told was not gonna fix it. And yet, he was still told to come out here and do it. So he came out here and did he was told but it still didn’t work. Now, they have to order all new burners. Its just ongoing after two months. It’s been a roundabout, circular motion here with this whole thing. I was very angry to begin with but now, I don’t even know anymore. It’s two months and $10,000, and I haven’t really even used the oven. Viking also needs to be more responsive. Initially, they kept calling to ask if everything was good and I kept saying no. It was great that they called but then it wavered and petered out. Viking has dropped off as far as calling to see if anything has been done and now, it’s me dealing with the repair people.

Ive had Viking products before and I heard about the Viking refrigerator from friends and people whove had Viking appliances. My son-in-law works for a company thats owned by Viking, so I got the friends-and-family deal, and it was a great deal. I like the French doors. In fact, this is the only slide-in refrigerator that Viking makes, and it was perfect for my kitchen thats relatively small. I just couldnt justify going up to a commercial grade refrigerator with a small kitchen. I also love the components of the freezer units. There are different areas where I can freeze things. Its very compact and efficient.I had a few questions regarding the refrigerator and the rep pointed out how to do the adjustments. I had called the Viking headquarters in Tennessee and asked for a hard copy version of the manual, even though its available online, but I never received it. Thats an oversight on their part, but I should just go ahead and print out the manual off of the internet. But other than that, Im very happy with the refrigerator. Its great. Its perfect for my needs and its a good-looking refrigerator, too.

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

Ive been very familiar with Viking for many years but Im very unhappy with their service, and the service who I bought the Viking from. I knew it was a floor model at the showroom and they told me that it had been out there for less than a year and had never been used, and it was like new and would have the full warranty. But several pieces broke within 24 hours of me getting this $10,000 refrigerator. It keeps things cold but all of the door inserts, such as the shelves in the door, all were broken. When I called Viking, they said that this was a five-year old model. It had been sitting on the showroom for that long, which was never disclosed and they wont cover anything. It was a very disappointing experience and makes me want to avoid using Viking. It’s a nice refrigerator. Unfortunately, they are selling it through dealers that dont understand their process and theyre not standing behind it and not willing to stand up to their dealer. So, its not a company I would want to do business with again.

Ive had my Viking range since June 2019. I had a previous high-end oven that came with the house that I bought, and when that oven was no longer able to be repaired under the warranty, I had grown accustomed to its features, and I wanted another one. And there are only a handful of high-end brands that has the same features, a Viking being one of them. I went with it being the lower maintenance and lower complexity quality brand. And I liked the style and the look of it. I don’t quite know if I’m gonna get the value out of what I paid for because they threw in a promotional free Viking dishwasher that we replaced my older, reliable dishwasher with, and it had nothing but problems, to which finally, it seems to have gotten fixed. And that has turned me off of the brand because I wondered, if the dishwasher had so many issues and seems cheaply-made, what’s the Viking brand for the range going to do down the road? My overall feeling is that I have enormous trepidation about spending the money that I did, and how long this unit is actually going to last without it costing me tons and tons of money out of out-of-pocket repairs once the warranty expires. But then again, maybe that’s their business model. Maybe that’s why I got this broken dishwasher so that I have to keep repairing it and spending money years down the road. That’s my mental state that I’m in on the Viking brand right now. And there’s really not much I can do about it at this point. So, I have to hope for the best. The other issue that I have is that there has been a concerning, unexpected behavior with the range where, sometimes, my wife or I will turn it on and set it to bake and to preheat, and we’ll come back to it 20 minutes later, and it has set itself onto the clean cycle and hasn’t heated up or anything. I actually ruined a couple of bread loaves that I was looking to throw onto the oven at that time and I couldn’t. And I had to switch it off, then on and then off. So now, I have to call the egregious Viking customer service and tell them that I have a problem although I can’t be sure. And it’s time and energy that I have to spend doing that, it’s rearranging my schedule for a repair crew. I wanted a product that works, and I’m not entirely sure I have a product that works well. I’m highly skeptical and feeling trepidatious about it. I have limited confidence that it’s going to continue to function like a new $11,000 range should for longer than a year or two. I’m living in the fear of I don’t really know what to expect outta this thing, and I don’t really know if you guys are gonna support me in my time of need for the amount of money that I paid.

My experience with my Viking has been great so far. I enjoyed the guy who sold it to me at Finwood Appliances. Its so much better than KitchenAid for about the same price. I like the way it looks and it feels well-made. Ive had a stainless steel refrigerator before and I was constantly having to get fingerprints off. The Viking is better at not showing fingerprints. I also like the freezer and that there is no water dispenser because then I dont have water drips all over the front of my refrigerator. I just have a pitcher and I keep it in my refrigerator now for water. Thats cleaner.

I love to cook and Ive always loved and wanted a Viking range for many years. We finally decided to get a range and Im very happy with it. Our Viking range is something Ive wanted for many years and it is fantastic. I love that I have six burners, that I have the option of convection and that its gas, since Ive always had electric. The team at the Viking dealer was wonderful and great but I was not impressed with all the demonstrations there. We also got a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a hood. Upon delivery, we had a dented dishwasher, which was not anybodys fault, and they replaced it which was fine.

The first range, a 36 open burner and the range hood, have been fine for 12 years. Surviving a move to a new house even. The dishwasher purchased at the same time started badly staining glassware & silver after a couple years. Viking said it was crappy dishwasher soap (phosphates removed) but the Bosch at our ranch did fine. Limeaway removed the staining temporarily. Inspected the racks and found the plastic coating cracked exposing the carbon wire core which was rusting. Viking said theyd happily sell me new racks for $450. Compared it to a neighbors dishwashers, found it to be an Asko. Racks were less than half Vikings. Very Funny. 30 open burner gas stove at ranch would not light/stay lit. Viking said likely master propane regulator was bad (but fireplace & Rannai water heater worked fine). Third-party repair person specified by Viking found range regulator out of limit, requested replacement. A month later, no regulator after many calls. I built a water manometer, adjusted Viking regulator to spec, range worked fine. Then noticed when range top leveled, triangular gaps between range & counter face. Adjusting feet to plumb range sides with counter made range top 1/2 bubble off. Viking said floor not level (it was fine). Problem was range not square, back had been screwed on with sides not plumb. Called third party repair person, he said call somebody else. Viking hadnt paid him for diagnosing the regulator problem. Removed back, squared stove, replaced back (new screw holes required), problem solved. BBQ looked massively professional but cast-iron burners holes continually rusted shut, had to be reamed twice a year. Porcelainized sheet iron flame diffusers and grates didnt last two years (their new ones are stainless), found SS burners, diffusers & grates on the internet for 1/4 Vikings prices. Drip-drawer plastic (!), rollers melted immediately, replaced with SS. Moral: Great appearance, great brochures, celebrity endorsements (paid, most likely), a generous retail mark-up (probably) encourages dealer loyalty and dealer omission of known crappy quality control, crappy build details and total absence of warranty service discharge. Wouldnt buy anything Viking again...

My freezer has not worked since Ive moved in so thats a little bit disappointing. Viking has been wonderful in answering my calls. But unfortunately, the people that service around here are just a little bit slow and they operate on their own time. The temperature of my freezer gets really hot so I have to keep hitting max freeze all day. If I dont, the alarm starts going off, so its really irritating. Its like a child I have to watch so I dont let my food get bad. The technician that came out said he fixed it. Yet, it was still getting too hot. I called back and they said they have to order a part and it was taking a very long time. Finally, it came in, so I have an appointment scheduled for March 1st. I like the appliance in general. But Ill be happier once it works properly. I hope that they can get it to work properly.

Our builder sent us to his appliance vendor to select kitchen appliances, whereupon a salesman convinced us to upgrade to Viking--there was some kind of package deal on at the time. The first 2 years were marked by constant frustration. The fridge had no shortage of problems (our version had a fridge above and freezer below). The hinges were replaced by a factory-authorized repairman twice (the first time, he forgot to lubricate them, and we ended up with a small pile of metal dust from the grinding metal parts). It took several attempts to get the door to stop swinging 180 degrees. The metal freezer rack started rusting (the factory sent the wrong part for the first attempted repair). Later, the thermostat failed and had to be replaced (it was actually my co-worker who diagnosed the problem--meanwhile, the distributor denied that could be the issue). At some point, I noticed the plastic door gasket was tearing, but I let that one go. These days, every time I look at the fridge, I cant help but notice that it isnt aligned properly. And of course, we never even thought to look at the Energy Guide sticker, where I was surprised to find its rated one of the least efficient refrigerators in its class. The oven arrived with a faulty door. A new one arrived, but the repairman sent it back because it had been damaged in shipping. The second warranty repair seemed OK, but my wife was always unhappy at how long it took for the oven to warm up. The microwaves magnetron failed under warranty and was replaced. But this morning, the microwave started arcing, smoking, and making spectacular sparks from behind the back panel. Its now 6 years old, and I think its life has ended.Im pleased to say that we did not roll over and play dead, and successfully argued our case to get Viking to cover all of our problems under warranty (except todays event). But my wife and I lead busy lives, and its been very draining to be constantly booking appointments, waiting around for repair people to show, and badgering the company. When we first bought Viking, I read all about how they studied and learned from Toyotas quality control systems. All I can say is, they couldnt have been paying much attention on those trips to Japan.

In the middle of December we went to a place called Famous Tate here in our city and we started looking around. We actually went there to purchase KitchenAid appliances but when we found the Viking, we liked it better. We needed a counter depth fridge and Viking seemed to have more interior space than all the other counter depth ones that we could find. We loved it. The only thing about it is that the ice maker doesnt make ice very quickly and it is just making 10 cubes a day. Their salesman was super nice though. We ended up buying the floor model that they had so we got a big discount in price too. Viking Refrigerators seemed like a higher end product that was built really well.

I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

I have known Viking Ranges for a long time but I never used it. Its high-end, and if you have a Viking in the house, its a good sales point to have. This time, I wanted the best of the best and for the purpose of investment so I bought one. However, the range is not the best as I expected but Im 80% happy about it. It doesnt have timers and setting like all the electronic-oriented, high-tech ranges have these days. Its very simple. Basically, turn the knob on or off. I like it, but more than that, it will help me. I dont have a particularly good eye, and I cannot see if its on or not, so I have to get used to it by feeling the knob. Thats all to it for this range. If you need the fancy features, dont get this one because it doesnt have any. But it does the job right, very straightforward and no frills.I originally purchased this at the local distributor on August 2016. It took three months to deliver through ocean freight because we live in Hawaii. On the day they delivered, the two delivery guys came and unloaded it from the truck. We live two levels up so they had to walk up the stairs. They start to complain about how far up it goes. It is a heavy unit at 400 pounds, so I understood. But at the same time, they said, Oh, there are two dents, one on the front, one on the side. I decided to take it because I thought it could be replaceable parts. But halfway through, two out of the six knobs came off. So, I refused the delivery. The store handled it okay. They gave me the refund which took a while then theyre going to replace the same item order. I made sure this time that the delivery guys did a good job, and they did. The range had no damage cosmetically and the knobs were intact. Its all in good shape. But thats not the end of the story. It finally arrived in the kitchen. But the delivery guys are trucking company people. So, I didnt request for the installation. The power cord needed to be hooked up to the unit because its electric, which I can do. I had the manual, and I was going to follow that. So, I started to open the back-side door to install the cable, but I noticed that its not the same as the picture in the manual. I called Viking and they sent one of the local repair companies to check it. It was the manufacturers mistake to mount the parts completely the wrong way.The repairman was professional, so he dismantled the whole power cable inside the unit, which I have no way to do. They fixed it and Viking was good about it. I didnt have to pay for that. But theres one other problem. The range is square and there are four legs. But the product they delivered had only three. They sent me the leg but on a different day. Im not that young anymore and I cannot move a 400-pound range by myself, lift it up and then install the legs. Its very dangerous and its not easy. So, I called Viking again and they understood the situation. They asked me to contact the same people who installed the cable but they said they will not come to install one leg. I said, The job was not completed. But they never got back to me--very rude voice and he sounded crazy. Im a customer. Why do I have to be accused like that? So, I called back Viking. I wanted somebody else to get sent over. I know its small job but its impossible to install it, and I was ready to pay for it. A very nice guy came over and did a five-minute work. He knew what to do. He installed it and I didnt have to pay for it. The range is working and doesnt have a problem. Viking is a great name and has good quality but getting it in the kitchen was just terrible. I understand Viking made a mistake and they handled this situation generously. But the experience of the whole purchase was a disaster. If I have a choice again, Im not going to buy Viking again ever. This is the last.

Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I regret buying a Viking Dishwasher (POS does not even have heated dry), Viking Range (delivered broken), Viking Microwave (over priced Kitchen Aid) and Viking D3 Fridge (Broken on Delivery). This evening - all of the food in the freezer is now thawed out. The refrigerator is not getting cold. Youve got to be kidding. Even the replacement of the recalled refrigerator isnt working now after 8 months. We were building a home three years ago, and I looked up about Viking, Wolf and other ranges and decided to get a Viking. I thought it was a top-of-the-line product and I liked the sleek look of it compared to Wolf. Im now on my second Viking since the one that was initially put into my home did not heat properly and it did not cook right since the day it was installed. So eventually, the door wouldnt close completely and that was under some recall type of thing. Viking ended up replacing the entire unit. However, there is only one repair service here in Columbus that deals with Viking as far as I know. I keep being told thats because Viking is either charging too much money and/or wont supply the parts and I would love to see some more competition rather than just one repair service that I have to call and pay their prices to repair a Viking product. I have a lot of friends that have Viking, and we all have to use the same people to repair the products.

I had a Sub-Zero for about 25 years and it was slowly dying. I went to Gringers which is a lower-east side appliance store that has been around for many years. I was shopping for a refrigerator. The space that I had in my kitchen would only take a 24-inch depth refrigerator. I asked the store people if they could help me in figuring out what to do. They had floor models and the Sub-Zero that there was too expensive. I didnt think that I would be able to afford a new Sub-Zero refrigerator but I just wanted to price things out. They had this Viking and it was opened on the right side and you can change the door opening. That was the floor model. The salesman there was friendly and happy. He said that anything made in the United States was gonna be 10 times better than any of the models of anything else out there. I bought the Viking refrigerator because it was a floor model and I was able to negotiate with the guy that if I would have the full warranty, it would be three years even though the model was on the floor for close to a year. I got the extended insurance so it’s insured for eight years. I never bought anything off the floor. I really felt like I was taking a chance and was hoping that the thing wouldnt break as soon as the delivery guy left. Im in a brownstone house in Brooklyn and it’s a 150-year-old house. Things are a little lopsided. The guy from Gringers came for the installation and he didnt install the fridge so that it was level. Because of this, I had an issue with the fridge. The system failed six months ago. I came down one morning, opened the refrigerator, got the milk out for my tea and I noticed that there seemed to be beads of water in the freezer. I opened it and it was like half-frozen. I contacted the place where I bought the refrigerator because it was just two years since I bought the refrigerator so it was still on the original warranty. They sent somebody out. But it took a while because they were very busy. When the guy came out, he looked at it and he said the refrigerator wasnt broken but it had to be leveled. They made another appointment and the refrigerator was leveled which was really nice. The people who installed the fridge then came back. Gringer said to the insurance company to fix the fridge then bill them. Other than that, the refrigerator has been great. It’s a big fridge thats probably too big even for one person, which I am now in the house. I would highly recommend Viking. I love the fridge. It keeps everything really cold and I dont adjust the temperature. I can see that the temperature is stable each time I open the refrigerator door. There’s also enough space in the freezer. Everything, I feel, is good quality and it’s gonna last maybe longer than me.

Our Viking 48 two door refrigerator: After two years it stopped working; drawers, shelves, plastic trim, refrigerator side door interior panels cracking, and both door seals in desperate need of replacement. After reading so many complaints about Viking appliances we just decided to wait and get more familiar with this expensive brand. In the mean time we went to Lowes and got a Samsung as a spare. Not sure on how to proceed, the Viking refrigerator was turned off and unplugged for three years. After the three years, we called Viking; Viking replaced the compressor, but we had to pay for all the expensive labor and all the other expensive replacement parts including the ice maker and both door seals. The refrigerator interior door panel is expensive and not worth of replacement. The refrigerator started to leak right after it was serviced from the freezer every time the freezer defrosts. Our 48 Viking Freestanding Gas Range: The knobs on the front of the range get very hot when using the ovens. The lettering and markings on the range disappeared. Oven doors dont close correctly. After three years, we started to smell gas coming from both ovens when in use. The ovens would not heat up properly, had to replace all three oven igniters. The large oven door/hinges stuck and we could not get the door to open or close, had all door hinges replaced on both doors. As a contractor, I find it amazing that I keep seeing Viking Appliances in multimillion dollar homes. My best guess is that these Viking appliances are there for appearance purposes only. Viking Appliance is the worst brand. Viking appliances are only worth the metal that they are made of. DO NOT even look at a Viking Appliance. I encourage all owners of any Viking appliance to be truthful and help the next victim that maybe looking to buy the Viking brand.

Our cabinet maker thought that Viking was a good product and I bought my Viking appliances though him. I went to a mobile Viking showroom event and looked at all the Viking appliances for a new home. And if I did my whole kitchen in Viking, they would double the warranty. Instead of having the three-year warranty, it came with a six-year warranty. It was a great deal especially considering that Ive had to have them come out repeatedly to fix things that’s been wrong with the appliances. Apparently, the quality of Viking has gone down considerably in the last several years and I hadnt realized that. Ive got two refrigerators and the parts are just cheaply made. One of them was delivered totally damaged. The shelving does not stay in place. The drawers don’t function properly and the components bend too easily. The refrigerators are less than two years old and half of the parts in each one of them are bent, have totally fallen out or had to be replaced several times already. It’s very poor quality. When they installed the dishwasher, they didn’t put the bottom plate on the dishwasher correctly. Some of the parts have fallen out of it as well. They’ve also had to come out several times and fix the valves in the dishwasher. But the worst is the range, which has never functioned properly. It’s terrible considering I now have $40,000 worth of useless appliances in my home. The person that I contacted to get warranty service was extremely helpful and walked me through the process of getting everything registered. The problem was that they did not want to honor the double warranty on my appliances. Luckily, I had saved the original invoice and was able to forward it to them so that they could put into my record that it was covered for six years. Ive told everybody that Ive come in contact with to stay away from Viking, which is sad because my husband is a home builder. We could sell tons of Viking appliances. But we buy all of the appliances for the homes that we build from Ferguson here in Raleigh and they have quit carrying the Viking appliances because they have so many problems with them. Plus I will never have another thing that’s Viking in my home. It’s terrible. We’ve had problems with everything Viking.

I bought a Viking range 2 yrs. ago. Since then I have had nothing but trouble. In short, the mainboard, fan, burner and controls gone bad TWICE. Upon contacting Viking and texting with support person - Deneen, I was promised someone would call to discuss my issues the same day. Its been over a week - no call. This range is obviously a lemon. $2400 is too much to repair a 2 yr old range.

When we bought the house, the Viking refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave were there. The issue that we have at the moment is that the refrigerator is not installed to the end. The water is not connected. For us, it’s very difficult to find a way to connect. When it’s installed the correct way, it’s great quality.

This house has a built-in Viking refrigerator and on the right is the all-freezer. The refrigerator is loud and the compressor was constantly running so the previous owner of this home had to have it replaced under warranty in 2016, which was only a year after he bought it. When we purchased the house in August 2017, and just before we closed escrow, he had to call Viking to get service because the temperature of the refrigerator was not keeping cold and there was a leak in the coil. The appliance is relatively new and that worries me but so far, the refrigerators been keeping cold so I’m thankful for that. But I am surprised at the compressor noise and we live in a development where the builder got Viking for all the units. I looked at several units when I was purchasing and I noticed the same noise in every kitchen because the floor plans are similar. It’s quite loud and it’s not infrequent. I even talked to the owner in one of the homes and she had changed out the Viking for a Wolf refrigerator. She said she did it because the Viking was so loud. Also, at first I was worried that there was a problem, but I looked at the freezer temperature and it’s constant at what it should be used. It just runs hard and it’s very sad to me because I’m going to end up having to replace it at some point. The refrigerators features are reasonable, but for that kind of investment, I would never buy one of this. I have an experience with a built-in Thermador and that has superior quality compared to this Viking.

I had a Sub-Zero for 23 years and it broke. I always knew about the Viking Ranges but never knew about the refrigeration. When I went to replace it, I had to get something with the same size so I decided to go with the Viking this time instead of Sub-Zero. Viking had everything that I liked about the Sub-Zero. I liked the freezer on the bottom, the drawers, the style, stainless steel, and the three-year warranty. I liked the look of it and it fits perfectly. I like everything about the lighting inside, too. Its awesome. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but so far everything’s good. My refrigerator didnt come with a kickplate and I am still waiting for it. I’m hoping that it will come soon. It’s been a few weeks and everythings been fine. I love it and everybody who comes in loves it. I think it’s great. It meets all my expectations.

The many repair people we have met since we bought this Viking Dishwasher in 2014 love to tell us how its impossible to troubleshoot, and breaks all the time. We replaced our old and very good Viking Dishwasher- that dated back to 2005 or so with one from 2014 when it needed a new pump at the urging of a sketchy repair guy. For this newer one we needed to rinse thoroughly the dishes prior and use all kinds of boosting products. (Lemi Shine). We had frequent service calls. It now needs $800 worth of repair for possibly 1) Moisture sensors, 2) drain pump or a 3) new panel, maybe. If its all three then its more than 1,400 dollars. These are repairs no reputable company can do within 3 -4 weeks. But we did have one guy come, charge us $125 (less than the going rate so we were thrilled, for a moment) and ask for stop tips. But he didnt fix it. And then he left to go on a cruise. Literally. We use this place as a part-time house so this is the second vacation we have spent doing dishes for the whole household + guests by hand. That and calling Dishwasher repair people. Sometimes they come and fix it and it breaks again, a few moments after they drive away and lose cell service, conveniently. The consultations in our area with reputable companies a minimum of $150 without a repair -- just to look--even if you have had someone else diagnose. They still refuse to bring anything on the truck to help fix it in one shot. The old one was great. It was loud and sounded like a hurricane but it really washed dishes. Its 20/20 hindsight but I bet the repair guy knew all this as he counseled us so hard to take it off our hands. The new ones are not good.I heard Viking switched to a new manufacturer (I hear its Asko now, but I do not know), or to a lesser quality from that manufacturer. Once they are (expensively) repaired they can last a while--but this is all rumor. In the meantime they are impossible to troubleshoot and you can analyze the manual all you want, nothing works. You cannot even manually drain it. So I recommend only buying this if you are actually an appliance repair person yourself or have one in the family. Kind of like owning a vintage automobile. But not nearly as fun. Not exactly a wind in your hair kind of experience. More like a dishpan hands one. While you look outside thinking of all the things youd rather be doing. So in short, park your ego and do not buy this machine. Unless you really love to do dishes by hand while you look at a Viking label in your kitchen. You can thank me. We finally decided to buy a Sears Kenmore with a stainless steel front and a 5-year service warranty. I added that to never pay that $150 dollar service fee for no work for a long time. Including installation, delivery and the 5-year warranty it cost less than the estimated repair cost of this one. Oh and there were no guarantees on the repair. And I did tell you the repair guy is on a cruise until after we leave. This review was based on Viking Model 032715-0000. PS. Its hard to tell from the images I posted but the bottom is flooded. Drain is cleaned, as are pipes checked. You cannot reset it to get it to drain following instructions in the manual. Note huge pile-up of dishes on counter. This has been our life this vacation. Hurray for Sears. Thank you! We cannot wait.

We like the look of the Viking professional series, but there are some reliability issues. We’ve had two service calls in just over a year which made me a little concerned. The first service call happened when the unit didn’t have a fan, so it was overheating, and the thermostat kept cutting off and shutting down the stove oven. Then the second time was when the control panel that drove the gas valve for the main oven and the igniter for the broiler both acted up. We were unable to use the main oven for about three weeks. They had to get some parts, then came back, and fixed the issues.

We had a bad experience with our GE Profile refrigerator. The drawers were flimsy and plastic and I replaced one particular drawer three different times in six years. So we went to our appliance store, looked at our options for refrigerators and see what would physically fit into our existing space. We have Viking stoves and we like them and the gentleman showed us the Viking refrigerator. We liked the way it looked and it fit our space so we bought it. We also liked its vegetable drawer which is much better than the GE. We have a lot of fruits and vegetable in our house and we use the wide drawer for vegetables. We can live with it. However, when the ice maker feature drops in a little bucket, it kind of makes a big noise. But beyond that, its been great. Their team at the dealer was also very good. Unfortunately, the guys that came out and put the refrigerator in the first time didnt level it. It was an inch and a half out off the cabinets that it sort of resides in on the top and an eighth of an inch out on the bottom. But we called the next day and the guys at Aitoro sent somebody out within an hour and a half. They leveled it and it was perfect.

I have a Viking side by side fridge, double oven unit and a range top - While the range top seems to work Ok The Fridge is the worst, between the ice maker not working properly, water evaporation unit does not work (a known problem) where you have to empty/wipe off the water from under the unit, and various shelf draw handles and side door, doors have broken off (replacements are expensive). The oven works ok but in the first year all the temperature and oven controls (bake, convection bake, broil etc) have worn off, and its not like I used steel wool to clean this, but really how is this even possible? My advice - stay away from Viking - there are plenty other vendors out there with better products.

Trying to get parts in has proven to be next to impossible. On three different occasions, different parts were needed for 3 separate Viking appliances, it took over one month to get parts delivered to service repairman. When questioning the repairmen (I have tried 2 different service companies) they all stated that they were unable to get anyone to answer any questions, had no tech support, and were very hard to work with. I love my appliances, however going without a dishwasher for over 1 month, after 3 service calls and still the part is not on its way. And of course the warranty is out! I need a motherboard replaced after only under 2 years of buying the appliances. $345 for just the motherboard, not to mention 3 service calls. I should have just bought a new dishwasher, and next time they will NOT be Viking. Customer service is key and they are locked out!!!!

I had a Viking Range that I bought 25 years ago. I finally used it up and got a new one. I like the way the lights in the new one work a little better and the simmer setting. And I like that the burner pans are sealed. With my previous unit, there was a drip tray underneath that we had to keep cleaning all the time. The improvements are nice. I use my stove like a restaurant does and it has never broken down. Also, mine runs on propane and they lasted over 20 years. I dont know another brand that can do that.

I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. DO NOT BUY VIKING APPLIANCES. You will regret it.

I purchased the VGCC5304BSS Professional Range and had it professionally installed. We immediately noticed a very strong gas smell. Viking sent their service person out (who complained to me about having to drive so far). The oven was not lighting because the spark plug was not positioned properly. It still has gas smell and the knobs get hot when the oven is in use. Viking sent another service person who adjusted the burners and grounded the oven igniter, still there’s the gas smell. We had the gas company out numerous times to check for leaks. They have said the problem was with the regulator inside the range. I contacted Dale Person, VP for Business Development and his office assigned Bonnie ** as our contact. Bonnie does not answer her phone, does not return calls, and does not care one bit that my house gets filled with propane gas. Since their service company, Distinctive Appliances, has only 1 person for Viking service, and he must service 4 states, the earliest he can get to my house is April 4th! Viking will not refund my money. Viking will not replace the range...basically Viking will not do anything. I have now been without a working range since March 3, 2012. I wish I knew what options I have. I think I should be compensated for all of this! Buyers beware!

Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

We have two homes, and the Viking wall oven is in our second home. We put a full range in this one. Weve had Viking products a long time ago. I was married, and I had it in my home then. And then, when I moved to Florida, I got the wall oven, the one that opens out, where it’s split in the middle. We just got it installed a month ago and I like it a lot. It’s gas and convection oven which I love. I like the three racks too, which was really important. I also like that it has a knob and it doesn’t have all the electronic stuff on it, like the digital buttons. I really like the look of it. Their reps were very, very knowledgeable. They did a really good job. I’d definitely tell my friends to buy the Viking range or the oven. I’d be happy to let them come here and try mine. Everyone loves the wall oven in our house in Florida. Ive had a lot of compliments and I like its quality. It’s always done well and it bakes evenly. I’ve never had a problem with it. I’m really, really happy with it.

My son and my daughter used to rent places with Viking appliances and they loved it. They suggested it to me and we went with it because of the reputation and the good quality product. I purchased the refrigerator from the local appliances store and it was wonderful because we had done the research. We came up with what we wanted and looked up who could order it for us. Then we went to the store where they recommended online from Viking and we ordered that. So it was good. I like the look of the refrigerator and how all the buttons are inside. Theyre not visible. This is my second review of the Viking 36-inch all refrigerator. Ice formed inside the unit and this interfered with the fan. Water collected on shelves and under refrigerator. The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. Finally, after almost six months, we have a refrigerator that works. While the interior design of the Viking is better, their engineering is poor. So, I registered with Viking and they sent service techs from R&E Appliance who were able to take care of the problem right away. It was a little disappointing that the range needed new parts right away. Other than that, the range has been working ever since it was repaired. I love the quality of the range and I like the way the lights light up across that I can see my knobs. Then the burners are on high right away when I turn them on, so I don’t have to fiddle to get them on high because they usually don’t cook low. Also, things roll out of the oven easily, so you’re not fighting against trying to pull it out.

This started almost a year ago. We purchased a Viking refrigerator and a freezer which were large, built-in units. Were about to complete our house and ready to have appliances delivered and installed and it started with the refrigerator and the freezer where they set up a delivery time. However, nobody showed up for the first delivery schedule that they had setup. We didnt get a phone call or anything. The home that we were constructing is about 60 miles or an hour away from us. I was out there all day long waiting for the refrigerator and freezer to show up but they didnt. So, I called the store, they apologized and said they didnt know what happened but the appliances will arrive on another day. So, I drove back down there, waited all day long, but nobody showed up on the second promised delivery date. They finally showed up during the third promised delivery date. They were supposed to send a four-man-crew because the units were very heavy, large built-in ones, and they were supposed to have somebody there to help install them and whatever else they needed to do, but as soon as the truck pulled up, there were only two people in the truck. I figured that was a red flag because that was not what they said they were gonna do. The two guys offloaded the freezer and they set the freezer into place. They were bringing in a refrigerator and I noticed that it was damaged at the bottom. I brought that to the attention of the delivery crew and he went, Oh, yeah! It is. So, they just set it in place and did not install it since it was damaged. The delivery driver said, Someone will be out here tomorrow to fix it and get it installed. The next day came and went, but I didnt hear a word. I know how schedules need to be taken care of, so I tried to be patient and I waited for a while. I then got tired of waiting. I called in and said, Your delivery guy said somebody would be here tomorrow. That was a week ago. When is somebody gonna come and fix this refrigerator? I started getting from the store that, Oh, well, the installation is not included and youre gonna have to pay. I said, Wait a minute. When you sold me this you said it was delivery and installation. Somebody came out to deliver it and said they wouldve installed it if it hadnt been damaged. We started to fight on this. I said, Well, when is somebody gonna come and fix it? I finally got somebody to acknowledge that and sent somebody out there.A guy came out and he worked on it all day. And then, he decided he cant fix or install it and told me that theyre just gonna have to replace it. Theyre gonna send me two brand new units. So, he left, and again, the waiting game. A few days went by, I started calling again and nobody seemed to know what was going on. It has been two months since they began trying to get the stuff delivered and installed. I recently got a text message from the guy at the store because I reached out to them again. I said, Somethings gotta happen here. Yall finish this. He texted me back and said, Someone will call either today or tomorrow to schedule an appointment. I have not heard from anybody since then.

48 Side-by-Side Refrigerator AND VICU165 - 36 wide cooktop - To say Ive been disappointed in Viking products is an understatement. When we began building our house we wanted a great kitchen. We chose Viking professional products. We purchased them about a year or so before we actually installed and moved into our home. Within the first 3 months our water dispenser in the door of the fridge/freezer froze over and completely quit working. We had a repairman come out... it worked for about 3 more months and we have not had water in the door since because we couldnt get anyone out to repair. Within 8 months the drawers in my fridge began cracking... nope, sorry, you have to pay astronomical prices to have those replaced. Within the first 2 years one of the shelves in the door came crashing down when we opened the door. Again, nope, sorry, thats your problem attitude from customer service. Now, our cooktop is horrible. We have the 36 all induction with 6 burners. We NEVER had all 6 working at one time. We call a Viking, get a repairman out... it works for about 2 weeks. Then we are back to 5. Slowly but surely others started going out. We call, we email, we call some more and finally get someone out there. He needs parts. Hes going to order then come back. No, we never hear from him again. We start calling, emailing, calling again. They send another guy out... he needs some parts. Meanwhile, all of this is taking literally years between the calling and emailing. The burners never get fixed. The last time they sent out a repairman, he again did not return. We called again and were greeted with a sorry, your warranty has expired, it will cost you an insane amount to repair. Right now, we are down to 1 burner that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. I will NEVER purchase Viking again nor will I EVER recommend their products. Pitiful customer service.

We were doing a remodel addition to an old family cabin and when it came to looking at appliances, Viking had the right size, the configurations that we wanted, and it checked on the boxes. Plus, weve had a Viking stove for a very long time. However, weve had major issues with the refrigerator. Were not in a remote area, but its not as highly populated so getting service people out has caused delays. Were actually on our third Viking refrigerator. The first one had been damaged in shipping, and the shipping caused some issues because of the supply chain. Then it sat in our garage because of construction delays. When they came to unbox and install it, it had major physical damage, so we didnt go any further. It took a while to get one, but they found it, and then we had nothing but problems with that second one. Alarms were going off all the time, it wasnt holding, its cold in either side, the ice maker wasnt working, it was horrible. Weve had to throw massive amounts of food away because we bought all new stuff for the cabin so its been a pain. They had somebody come out, did a couple of things, it worked for a day, and then we have more issues. They replaced all these different parts to it and this took us quite a long time because the service company doesnt do repair. Finally, they realized that they would never be able to get it worked so they ordered us another one and that one was delivered and installed and its worked really well, except for the ice maker.I understand the delays in getting attention placed on our case. Im usually a pretty calm person, but I had to get a little nasty with the sales rep because I didnt feel like she was helping. The holidays are coming. We needed refrigeration in our house. It was difficult so I had to put my foot down and demand a loaner. She ended up coming through with that and then she said that I would have to pay for it as well as the delivery and installation. I told her I wont. It was a back and forth show. Also, every step of the way, somebody made a commission off of this and so they needed to come to the table to help a little more. We felt like we got a fair price, buying two Viking items and get a set of cookware free, and we got a free microwave, so we wanted to make this work. Plus, we have wood paneling for the doors. If we were to switch and go with a different brand, which we wanted to do, it would have been a major additional cost to us. Well, Viking has been responsive. Its a $10,000 refrigerator and so they need to go through what they need to do to make sure its working right before they scrap the whole thing. It was just really frustrating while it was all happening.

Based on reviews online and their reputation with their consumers and my friends, we decided to get a Viking range. The cost of their range is twice the quality ratio. Im not quite sure what I paid the premium for and the quality of the range is in the middle: not great nor bad. The infrared broiler is my favorite feature of the range, but it does not work that well. I also like the convection and the high-BTU burner. The gas regulator stopped working. It malfunctioned and I couldnt get any gas output from anything including the oven or the burner. I made a service call for it and they took care of it pretty quickly. Overall, Viking range is overpriced with limited options.

I love the size of our range and the auto fan function. We are really happy with the quality of the overall piece of it. My husband was having trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth but he figured that out on his own.

I’ve been in the restaurant business for so many years and Vikings name has been around. It’s quality product and all that good stuff. I’ve watched them over going to Best Buy and thought that one’s beautiful. My recent purchase was a single oven, microwave steam convection oven, all in one dishwasher, gas range and the refrigerator. So far so good but I kind of wish Viking offered a filtered water system through their refrigerators but they don’t. But it does make ice which is nice. I’d definitely recommend their product to a friend. But Viking is top of the line, top dollar. It’s not for the average consumer. I didn’t buy it to make my house value go up because what I’ve heard is all the high end kitchen equipment doesn’t really hold value because not everyone takes pleasure in that. But I wanted the best I can have and my choice was Viking.

Our last range was a GE product and it had just failed, so we needed to replace it. Viking came to mind and we went to a local appliance dealer. I have known Viking for such a long time and theyre a very well-known brand. We had done some research online in terms of which ones that are better or worse. Generally, the customer reviews for Viking Range were decent. We had narrowed it down to Bosch and Viking when we went to the appliance dealer and talked to the rep about it to make our final decision. The experience with the Viking dealer was very pleasant. We only spent half an hour there and it was a dealer that we had done business with before. Hes local to us so it was a natural choice. So far, were very satisfied with the quality of the range. We like that the Viking range is solidly built and it is what theyre known for. I believe it is still made in the US. If people want to have a premier range in the kitchen for their cooking and if they enjoy cooking, Viking range is definitely worth the investment.

We were switching from electric to gas so wanted a new range. My wife liked the look of the Viking range. The sales rep knew all about it and the delivery was good. The range has a great convection oven and it bakes good. The gas top stays at a good temperature. Were pretty happy with it.

Viking has a good reputation, but weve never used a Viking refrigerator, so we didnt know what to expect. The refrigerator has been better than what we thought, and it was well priced. We went by the brand name, and so far, we havent been disappointed. Weve had our Viking since November 20th of 2018. We purchased the product from a Bellevue Albert Lee office, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. It meets our needs. I like that it has a really good size freezer and ample compartments. The way the compartments work and the way were able to access and store food products has worked out well for us.

When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the ins
When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the installers, they damaged the handlebars and two of them had scratches. They hit the door entry area, too, so they damaged that as well and my contractor had to fix it for us. The two refrigerators were also not installed the way I wanted them to be installed and the doors were not in line with each other, so they were a bit off. Theres also a half an ounce of leak periodically occurring on the wine cooler side. The installers set the refrigerators in and put in the backing for them to be stabilized. They leveled it a bit and locked it into that 2x4 in the back. Then they left without installing the trim kit so my carpenter had to figure out how to put it in. The trim kit was for the refrigerator but we ended up installing it on the wine cooler side since that didn’t have a trim kit. Ben, from the Odmus Company, told me that I was supposed to use the trim kits for both sides, the refrigerator and the wine cooler, to make them look right and uniform. He said he would install them for me so I should get them. So I ordered another trim kit for the refrigerator but later, he said that there was supposed to be another kit for the refrigerator as well. This was never brought to my attention until months after I purchased the items, so I’m disappointed about that. I paid $1,000 for the installation and trim kits thinking that the installers would finish the job and do it correctly, but it wasn’t done so. I reported it to Viking and to the store manager, but I never received any calls from BestBuy about this issue. It’s been five months since I bought the refrigerators. BestBuy held on to them for me until I was ready for the installation, then they were installed in my house two months ago.I talked to someone from BestBuy last month and told them about my problems with the installation process. They got the original installer back to help me and they’re going to replace the handles, straighten out the doors for me and install the trim. But most of the work has been done already, so I dont see why I have to pay for the installation when the installers didn’t install anything. They just delivered the items and set them up. Other than that, I love the Viking refrigerator and the cooler, except for the leakage. They’re great refrigerators and I would recommend them to others. Since the installation process is the most difficult job, people have to make sure that Viking would do everything that they’re supposed to do and that they complete the job.

Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair
Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

I bought a house with a Viking refrigerator in it and since they have a good reputation, we bought a new one to replace the old Viking fridge. The dealer wasnt completely honest though. They said the fridge was a year old and the service person let us know that its older than that. We got a floor model and when it was installed, it wasnt installed completely, so it leaked into the bedroom downstairs. When the service technician came in a couple of days ago, he found that there was a connector at the top of the fridge that wasnt connected, so the shut-off for water overflow was never turned on and the pan under the fridge was overflowing and leaking into the bedroom downstairs. Still, its a nice fridge and we like it, including the look.

Its unbelievable to me that a brand that cultivates a premium quality image
Its unbelievable to me that a brand that cultivates a premium quality image, and commands (demands?) top prices from consumers, designs and builds such a shabby product. FIRST ISSUE: over the past couple of years, two plastic refrigerator door shelves developed cracks, and shattered like glass without warning, dropping the shelf contents all over my floor. These were not overloaded shelves. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING ISSUE: CHOOSE A PLASTIC THAT DOES NOT GET BRITTLE IN COLD TEMPERATURES.Incredibly, each time this has happened, Viking Parts Department charged me nearly $200 per replacement shelf (Really? For the price of this refrigerator you wont replace a defective part as a courtesy?); so far Ive spent $400 on replacement shelves and I have another shelf that now is developing new cracks so I guess Ill be paying another $200 for that replacement shelf soon. Or maybe I should just not use door shelves?? SECOND ISSUE: no matter how I set the refrigerator thermostat, the vent located above the top refrigerator shelf outputs freezing temperatures. So while my refrigerator thermostat is set currently to 43 degrees, anything located on the upper left refrigerator shelf (water pitcher, juice, milk, etc.) freezes solid. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING ISSUE.Ive experienced a lifetime of different refrigerator brands, from basic Frigidaire, GE to Subzero, all have worked as intended. Certainly never had to replace plastic shelves for my cheapo Frigidaire, and nothing freezes on the top shelf of that refrigerator. So I guess you got an additional $400 from me in replacement parts (soon to be another $200), but Ill never buy a Viking-branded appliance again (dont get me started on the Viking range issues Ive experienced).

Oven was purchased 2013, we had to move out of the house for a year after purchasing the range. Now Viking tells us we need a new motherboard to the tune of $657.00. Really? We can buy a different stove for that much. The oven goes on broil no matter what you set the oven on and the circulating fan runs even when the oven is off. Very disappointed in this quality product. Viking tells us the warranty has expired, just not right!

Im an architect and I work for a multifamily development group. One refrigerator wouldn’t go into the defrost cycle. We’ve had two different local appliance repair companies. The resident asked us to replace the fridge because it’s giving him fits and he’s a VIP. This is a penthouse unit, which is why we went with Viking appliances. Now, we’re waiting on a mainboard and a defrosting panel and waiting on parts is very frustrating.Ive had some difficulties with dishwashers too. Its not so much the quality of the manufacturing as it may be how they were installed, unpacked. Some of the soundproofing and gasketing on the bottom of the dishwashers have fallen off. Theyre also a little too high tech for our residents. We had people do a lot of research on how to use the dishwasher.

I had a friend who had Viking ranges and she raved about them. So, I figured I would just go with her recommendation. I like Vikings quality a lot. I had a Viking D3, the older version of this Viking, and this one is significantly better. I just love the level of the flames of the burner, its just consistent and even heating when youre cooking. The Vikings team was great. I actually had no problems at all. I liked the store that I purchased from a lot. The quality is great. I have a Viking oven and a Viking refrigerator, and I love them all. I would recommend them.

So far, Im very pleased with the Viking gas range six burner that I purchased. I like the reliability of the range. As far as the oven, I like the quality and the fact that when I open one of the French doors with one hand, they both open. My only concern was the knobs on the range didn’t match the French door oven. The French door oven has the stainless knobs and my range has dark, smoky, shiny knobs. I was trying to get those changed out and I was told by my dealer that Viking wouldn’t change those out for me. Nonetheless, their reps were great. They did everything they could to help this be a good experience. So, I’m very pleased with them. I just wish I had better knobs. I would love to be able to change them so that they match.

Viking ranges have quality and brand recognition. My home came equipped with a Viking range and I registered everything so that way Viking happens to have all of my information. The range is fantastic. Ive had it for a couple months now and it seems to be working pretty good. The gas lights it up and cooks everything super fast. Ill tell friends that if the Viking range fits their budget, they should definitely include it.
