Have full Viking kitchen - dual-fuel range, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Difficulty in obtaining parts in Ireland, and would never, ever recommend Viking - anything - to anyone. All have had problems, but none more so, from day one, the range. Markers on dials rubbed off after months. Oven door has never fit flush and hinges squeaked/squealed whenever opened or closed. Often, could not open door parallel to floor. Finally replaced both door hinges - at astronomical customs charges for delivery from USA - only to find that self-clean function now not working. Self-clean circuit board described, variously, as no longer available to obsolete, do not have to maybe were getting new manufacturer but dont know how or when to sorry, no substitute recommended.Have begun shopping new/used parts, incl eBay, world-wide, spending hours of time without success. Have fabulously expensive oven that is filthy. In addition, weve had to replace 3 ignitors, our repairman discovered that instructions for wiring were actually reversed from positions described in manual (EU compromises?) and any part that costs US$100 direct from USA seemingly soars to more than 4 times that price once it reaches Ireland and our local recommended Viking supplier. Never, ever again. I so wish Id found this site earlier.

We bought a house and a Viking refrigerator came with it. It’s pretty and weve been using it for three years now. It was too expensive to have broken twice with two completely different issues whereas other refrigerators have never been broken. So, we were not happy with it. I called Viking but there was not enough repair people from them so I had to wait a week and all my food went bad both times.

My friend had a Viking Range and had a good experience. Viking brand is also well-known so a level of trust comes with it however, I was a little disappointed in the overall experience of getting the range. I ordered it from ABT Electronics, an online store not local to my place, and the first time it came here, it was damaged. So we had to return it but it took a little bit of persuasion from our side to make them understand that if it’s broken, it’s not our fault. They shipped another one and we got it installed by a professional here who does Viking installations, even for the local store where we had seen the range. When we used the oven and the fan started, it started making a lot of buzzing noise and there seemed to be something loose inside the thing. So we asked for the warranty repair and it took weeks for them to schedule a repair. The guy who came was very nice though so I was totally satisfied with the behavior of the individual. He tried to fix it and it appeared, at that time, that it was fixed. He pushed it back and then he went away. But after that, the noise was still there. It was less but it was still fairly loud.

Viking support has been good. There were a couple of issues with my range when it first arrived but they found somebody local to repair it. They found time on the schedule, fixed my range, followed up and they came back. It was all positive. We really like our range. But it should have arrived without any problems.

Ive had my Viking Refrigerator for about five months now. Everything is great. I love the quality. My refrigerator is awesome. Im very satisfied with everything. I recommend it to everybody that has come to my house. I tell them, “Go with Viking. You will not regret it.” The delivery and set up were very easy. It was just, we had a little bit of a hiccup due to the pandemic. Our oven came later than the rest of our items. But it’s understandable.

I used to have a Thermador and I switched over to a Viking when my Thermador went out. I bought it online. The delivery was fine and it showed up on time. I had a professional come and install it. Ive had my Viking for about three months and I love it. Its a convection and its dual fuel. It is heavy duty and it is very easy to clean compared to my Thermador.

Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.

We got a Viking refrigerator that was a brand new floor model even though I’m a die-hard Sub-Zero girl and I only like Sub-Zero. If I would have paid about $10,000, then I wouldn’t have been super thrilled. Then during delivery, we got a leaking seal on the freezer that we needed to deal with. But I haven’t dealt with that yet and I’m assuming that’s under warranty. Also, if they were gonna sell a $10,000 fridge, then they have to make sure that it has dual compressors where one gets the fridge and the freezer. So while I’m not super happy with the Viking, its overall quality of the refrigeration is good. My produce seems to keep not quite as long as the Sub-Zero but the Viking is better than a standard refrigerator one buys at Home Depot. The lighting is also very bright and good.

Viking had a real good reputation and it’s considerably more expensive than others so we expected a lot more from it. But right now, were on the fence about it. We found out the range was damaged when it was installed and we had the local vendor, AllSouth, come out and look at it to see what the deal was. They said it could be fixed and it could be 5,000. But even if we replaced it, they were somewhat reluctant to say they feel safe with the internal portion of the gas part of it. That made us still somewhat reluctant to use it.They handed it off to Viking and Viking did not call us back so we had to call them and they apologized. They said they were sorry the other guy didnt call us back and that they have cameras that look at the production process so it couldn’t have been on their part. But the end result is we paid almost $7,200 for the range and its damaged. Im not real happy with Viking and I was real disappointed with them. If I had to do it over again, I would not go with them. Its been somewhat of an uphill battle with Viking and AllSouth and were hoping that it will be rectified.

I’ve known about the Viking brand for a long time and we liked them the best for their brand reliability. We bought a Viking refrigerator and the quality is great. The lighting is very cool and it’s very compartmentalized. It has multiple drawers and many different places to put things in instead of only two drawers and a bunch of shelves. But since the purchase, one of the screws on the hinge at the top part of the main refrigerator door keeps getting loose and causing a grating noise when we open or close the door. Viking referred us to a sub-contractor thats a local appliance repair shop in San Antonio. And a guy came out and fixed it, but it only lasted for two days. Its an issue we’re still dealing with.

My house already had a couple of other Viking things. I was matching them, and I purchased a Viking refrigerator. I love it. Viking is known for the ovens, which are stainless steel and really sturdy. It can take a beating whereas I gotta be a little more careful with the fridge. I have three kids and if you have a kid, they should come with a handy man. These kids slam up around and they pull on doors too hard, and break stuff left and right. Stuff should really take a beating and be able to take a beating. We got the fridge four years ago. So its a good product. My Viking fridge looks great, and it matches. So, overall, it gives value to the kitchen in the house. I am happy with the purchase. Its not expensive, which is why Im glad. I dont mind paying more, if you call them and theyre really responsive like they were when something happened to it. An internal fan conked out, I called the retailers but they were not too helpful. When I called Viking, they were really helpful. So, if there will be an issue again, I would call Viking direct.

Ive owned Viking Ranges before in Nashville, Tennessee. However, I was a little bit disappointed in the workmanship put into the equipment. When it was delivered, the guys that installed it did a great job straightening one of the panels. I ended up having to get the wall oven unit replaced or at least theyd put in a new board. The stripping around the door that holds the heat in was loose and had to be pushed back in place. I complained to the store about the quality of the product and they sent me a new unit. The new unit looked better and its working fine so far. I havent had any codes on it. All in all, they dealt with all my issues and responded timely. They sent people back out to try to correct the problem. In that regard, the service has been great.

I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I also like the look of it.

I purchased a Professional Series Viking Range this past summer. Used it very little until the holidays came and day before Thanksgiving, it pooped out. So long story short, they got it working for a few days then 10 days before Christmas and all the house guests, the oven stops again. Parts ordered over 10 days now and no one seems to know where they are. The people who are contracted to service the oven are most definitely not the problem, it is Viking. This company has bar none the absolutely worst customer service I have ever encountered. They do not return calls, they put you on hold for literally hours. No one seems to know anything about anything. Even their supervisors are bad. All you can do is leave a message. It is a true shame that a company that is representative of how things are done in the United States of America has screwed it up so badly. They are apathetic. Too bad because not every American company is this bad. I have had a much better customer service experience with my foreign made TV. I would recommend that just because you pay top dollar does not guarantee you will get great service. They are the worst.

Im writing this letter in hopes that you can help me with a continuous issue I have had with your 36 Viking Stove. My wife and I purchased a new home in 2008, at which point we decided to renovate our kitchen. When we purchased our appliances, there was no doubt in our minds we wanted a Viking Professional range and oven. We were excited and happy with our appliance for a short time until we began to use it. Over the course of 3 years, we have had nothing but constant troubles with the oven. First the igniter went twice, then the thermostat, then a defect with the range top. We have had several Viking repair visits, each costing $300 or higher. When we made the decision to buy Viking, it was with the thought in mind that paying a little more meant getting better quality, craftsmanship and dependability. Unfortunately, this has been far from the reality we have experienced. Most recently we replaced the thermostat for the baking function and the oven doesnt heat up.Needless to say, three weeks before Thanksgiving, we find ourselves with yet another service call and Im sure more costly repairs. I have done extensive research on the Internet and various consumer affairs sites and found that there has been a groundswell of complaints with your ovens. Frequent mention of inconsistent bake temperature, issues with your igniter system and thermostats lead me to believe there is a known set of defects with your product and this particular model. To that end I am asking that you stand by your product and replace the oven. An investment of $6000 should not require a constant stream of maintenance for a product that should bring with it quality and dependability. Rather than spend time posting disparaging complaints on various consumer products sites. I am asking that you address the issue I have had with your oven so I can get the quality and craftsmanship I expect.I am reaching out for your help after multiple calls to your call center and ask for someone to contact me immediately. I will pursue this issue further and if necessary rally the countless people I have seen voice concern with the range product you offer and have sold. The information for my range is Model: VGSC3676BSS, Serial #: 081108C00053266

We owned a Viking before in a prior home. We felt it was certainly well-built, had quality, and was reliable so we wanted to do that again. I like the ProChill Temperature Management that they put in their refrigerators. It seems to maintain the cooling and temperature so appropriately that the food stays good for a long time. So we’re happy with the way it works. Also, their team went efficiently and the installation was adequate. However, we didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t get the refrigerator fully clad in stainless steel. We had to go out and get panels. And since they’ve been installed, those panels vibrate and make noise and we don’t know how to fix that. But we’d still recommend it, theyre above average.

It fulfills my expectations and does what its supposed to do. It looks great and Im very happy with it. The fact that we just took off all the top panels to wash them is a miracle in itself. It lights when I want it to. It keeps the temperature where I want it in the oven.

My wife and I just replaced our Viking side by side with a Sub Zero side by side. Boy what a difference. During the warranty period the service tech was out to our house about once per month. The Ice Maker didnt work in that it dripped water into the ice tray and formed long hanging icicles which made it almost impossible to open the ice drawer. The screw mechanism that forced the ice into the ice crusher would fail on a regular basis so we could never use our machine for crushed ice. The rubber seals on the doors began cracking early on preventing a tight door closure. The plastic drawers and shelves began cracking as well. Since almost all of them began cracking at the same time this was more of a poor materials issue than a one time problem. The machine has only one compressor which cools the freezer. There is a fan between the freezer and refrigerator that blows cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator to keep it cool. This means that everything on the top two shelves of the refrigerator were usually frozen. The compressor failed and since the freezer and refrigerator were on the same compressor we lost both. The control panel on top of the machine was basically useless in that it had a useless bar led graph rather than a digital numerical display to give you a relative estimate of the coldness setting in the freezer. When we replaced this Viking with a Sub Zero it was like being reborn. All of the design issues we suffered with the Viking are absent in the Sub Zero, including the single compressor issue. The Sub Zero has two compressors, one for the refrigerator and one for the freezer which are isolated from one another. The Sub Zero has easy to use numerical controls to independently set the freezer and refrigerator temperatures to a resolution of one degree, air filters to remove Ethylene gasses produced by stored vegetables, an internal on/off switch to power up/down the machine for maintenance or cleaning, and it has what looks to be a reliable ice maker and water dispenser design. The other issue we had problems with is that it is difficult if not impossible to find a Viking certified appliance repair company when you live in a remote area. The closest Viking certified repair company was 100 miles away. This creates huge problems, especially when the warranty expires.

I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

I had purchased a Wolf 30 gas range but the infrared broiler was not as good as 16 year old Viking gas range. Wolf is a very reputable and reliable company and took back the range that I had for a few months and returned my money (a first class outfit). So I purchased a new Viking range and am thrilled with some of the new features. The shelves in the oven roll out and one burner has more BTUs than the rest for big jobs. Also the infrared oven is excellent and the top is now sealed so liquid does not drip down into the guts of the oven and rust it out like the old one. The company is not as generous as Wolf and made me purchase a new set of knobs with the color of my choice (black) for better visibility and would not take back the silver ones as an exchange.

I like everything about the particular Viking refrigerator that I bought. Its very quiet and the quality is very good. The lighting inside is amazing and the outside and drawers are nice. However, their setup was totally not what it shouldve been. They came in, put in the refrigerator and that was it. When they set it up, they put the handles on and they left. But the handles need to come back off to get the plastic out, which they never did, so it was there. It took me about two weeks to peel off the plastic thats so tight on that refrigerator. It was like pulling off glue off the refrigerator. They came back once and the guy was late, and I had to go to work. And then I never recalled them to come back. My husband peeled off the rest. Also, when you pull out the drawer on the bottom, the other drawer comes out with it, and you have to push it back. Other than that, Im really happy with the refrigerator. Our Viking Adventure. In 2012 we started planning for a major remodel to our home, and part of this was gutting and updating the Kitchen. One of our choices for the kitchen update was an 8 burner (6+griddle) gas and electric range. We had always been Thermador and Sub Zero people having used these products with no issues in two previous homes for 25+ years.Viking had always had a big reputation in the range market so we decided to try one of their products and in early 2013 we purchased a new Viking range from Setzers Appliance in Ocala, FL along with other non-Viking major appliances. The range was installed in fall of 2013 by a professional installer, along with all the other appliances, at a charge of 250$ per appliance. Initially we were thrilled with the new toys but then the igniters on the range had to be replaced. This was covered under warranty. Then the doors started sagging and wouldnt seal. Viking tried to fix this on two occasions but the issues never did get resolved. Then the small oven wouldnt maintain temperature, often being off as much as 100 degrees. The range was still under warranty and they attempted to fix this... they got it close but it never did work reliably. There were several service calls over the next few years, all documented and covered by warranty covering mainly issues with the ovens not working properly. We also had a very... irresponsible and grouchy, shall we say? local service person in the Gainesville, FL area.In August of 2018 the small oven again started not maintaining temp by more than 100 degrees. We called our local service man and he gave us an appointment time a week from that day... which he missed. We called him after the no show and he said oops, I forgot.... be there by 1 tomorrow. He showed up, turned on the oven, borrowed a thermometer and said the bad news is you need a new control board and it is 600$. We told him to hold off until we contacted Viking and he took his check for the service call and headed down the road.We contacted Viking and the service rep said to have the tech email him the info on the range so he could see if Viking could do anything despite the range being out of warranty because of the extensive list of issues on the service history. We called the service tech and he said he was driving and would call back for the email address when he got back to his office. Never called. Called him a week later, again, driving... will call back when I can. Never called. This went on for almost 6 weeks before we contacted Viking again and laid it all out... he was very helpful and said, Send me all this in writing and I will see what I can do and try to find you another service tech. After a month or so it boiled down to sorry, nothing we can do including apparently the inability to even provide another service tech in all of north Florida. We are now pursuing getting the range repaired on our own and with a rather bad opinion of our 13,000.00 Viking range. It may be petty but I take some small pleasure in knowing for a fact that at least three other couples purchased products from other makers after hearing about our experience over the last few years. So, while I know there must be a reason for Vikings reputation over the years I and my wife are... less than impressed.

Apparently, this other company dispatches work to the company in Dallas and they sent in the information but it never got there. The lady in Dallas was very helpful, she told us who we need to call and made things happen but the backend was terrible.

Viking has been on our radar for quite a long time and it was something that my wife wanted to buy again since our prior experience in another property. She liked the product and we had good luck with it. We purchased the refrigerator over a year ago and I’ve registered the warranty information in the last few months. I like the appearance of the stainless look to the refrigerator, the layout inside and its capacity. I like it much better than my refrigerator here at home. The product itself is excellent and the Viking dealer was great at selling it. However, the installation focus was not what we hoped for since we had some issues with it but we got that rectified. Viking vet on the dealers very carefully to make sure that they’re being represented well because installation will make or break someone’s view of the product sometimes. They have to make certain that they honor the warranty in case it’s ever needed and to stand behind their product.

The purchase and installation of the new range was very seamless and easy. Everything was delivered on time and in good shape. The only negative is that the glass panel keeps getting loose on one of our two Viking ranges. I have to keep screwing it back in. But everything works great. They all perform as advertised and we havent had any issues. It’s a good quality product.

Viking is a popular brand. I’ve owned another Viking stovetop. So, when we moved in to this new house, we put Viking in everything. The quality is great, and it was part of the reason why we bought it. I like that our range works. It does everything that we’re asking it to do. It’s what my wife wanted. It cooks great egg, and then cooks everything else fantastically. I’m very pleased with everything I got from Viking. It’s my second go-around to buying Viking appliances and it probably won’t be my last.

I like the way Viking operates and I especially like the look of the Viking professional stove. Ive had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they don’t allow gas so I got the induction. It’s different for me because it’s an induction and before I’ve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didn’t have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers. I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didn’t realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. There was nothing I can do about it but I was disappointed in that because I was trying to get matching appliances. But overall, I’ve been very pleased with Viking.

Our Viking range has been really good. We did have one small problem with it very shortly after owning it. Two of the burners wouldnt light. But they quickly got us in touch with somebody to come out and replace the igniters. The person who they had come out and service it was awesome and had it fixed really quickly, but he said, “I just dont like how one of these is lighting. Its still lighting fine, but I just dont want to leave here and say it’s fixed. And then in three months, you have another problem.” So, he came out a second time, even though it was working when he left, and replaced that igniter entirely. It was great customer service from them. The only challenge with Viking is totally esthetic. The only frustrating part is that the surface below the grates are very shiny black, and theyre the ultimate dust collector if youre not keeping on top of it.

We were remodeling our home and wanted to get some built-in appliances. We compared Viking to Thermador and some of the other top brands and decided to go with Viking because of their great promotion. The refrigerator looks deceivingly small. So, when you open it, you feel like, Im not going to fit as much stuff in there. But you do fit a lot in there. So, Im pretty pleased with it. The freezer portion makes a couple of noises. It sort of snaps and crackles and makes some little noises there that probably could be improved. But otherwise no, its great. We actually are on our second refrigerator. The first one that arrived was defective. We got a hold of Viking through the company that sold it to us. Viking was great. They sent out a new refrigerator. They came picked up the old one, and there was no problem. It took a little while, but there were some other complications probably that were at play at that time. Other than the delay, it was a smooth process.

I bought a Viking range, dishwasher, and refrigerator at the same time. I heard it was a pretty good brand and I liked their looks. Ive had them for six months and so far so good. We purchased from a Viking dealer and the refrigerator is competitive with others in the price range. They came within five days after I ordered. It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. They need better customer service availability, like on weekends. We’re happy with the overall quality, however, its easily scratched and stained with oily fingerprints. I think that goes for all stainless appliances though.

My friends introduced me to Viking Refrigerators and we specifically bought this brand because we heard how good they were, but now I feel that their customer service is terrible. Ive only had my refrigerator for not even a year and it broke four times now and it has taken at least two to three weeks to get it fixed every single time. Nobody at the Viking dealer would pick up the phone, so it was hard to get in touch with somebody. When I finally do, the only way somebody would call me back is if I was rude and talked to the manager at the place that I called. It was a horrible experience. I couldnt be more upset about it. I was told that the door would keep breaking at the part where they fixed it, and that I wont get a new refrigerator. I would trade this refrigerator right now if I could afford to.

This pertains to Viking microwave RDMOR200SST over the range unit. Purchased 12/12/13, installed 12/26/13, broken 1/18/14, lasted less than a month. Being in the HVAC field, Im very familiar with many brands, reputable and not so reputable. I recently read a tech article about Vikings new owner (CEO) and it seemed very promising. Boy was I wrong and he has a quality control/customer service nightmare on his hands. I have dealt with many companies in the field and this is without a doubt the worst. $650.00 microwave and the micro switches I found in this unit I would not have used in my daughters $5 toy. Youre probably saying, Why did you fix this yourself, you voided the warranty. Have you ever seen some of these morons they call appliance repairmen? Believe me, I have and I wouldnt trust 95% of them. Problem - wife shut the door and the micro circuit tripped, reset, breaker held but the micro was dead. Dissembled (only takes 2 minutes) and noticed 4 micro switches mounted on a cheap plastic rack, one of the switches the plunger was stuck in the down position. Upon inspection, the contact of the switch was welded together. These switches are rated at 16 amps, there is absolutely no way this switch holds 16 amps, no way. This is a fire hazard and a design defect. I removed all four switches and replaced with Ormon micro switches and NO THEY ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA , they are made in Japan. If I would have had warranty service tech perform this, they would have used the same cheap factory switches and the problem would have been reoccurring and caused more damage to the unit. For all of you do-it-yourselfers out there, change all of these switches out with quality ones. This will solve the majority of your issues with this unit.

We’ve got other Viking appliances that work extraordinarily well. We have a Viking oven, a cooktop, and a microwave and they’re great. We learned about Viking from a friend and she told us that there was this Viking refrigerator on sale, so we went and purchased it. We were in the middle of building a house and decided to go with the range and the dishwasher after that. We had to get a contractor to put in the dishwasher and after he put it in, the seal that sealed the door of the dishwasher when you run it had been flipped over or creased, but he was able to unfold it and he tried to work it back. Then, the icemaker on the refrigerator never worked, and we’ve got water lines coming to it. The guy seemed to think the whole icemaker was bad or there’s a solenoid or a switch that could be out.We also have two eyes on the range that havent worked. One wouldn’t ignite at all, while the other ignited 20% of the time. When the appliance people came out to look at them, they had to order the parts and I needed to call Viking in order to see if I can get that under warranty. It was brand new when we got it. At that price range and for the quality, we were expecting a bit more attention to detail and less issues, especially not have something wrong with all three of them. Still, we like them. They work well, and theyre nice. My wife’s also enjoying the range well and I like how quick it heats up. It’s good. I would recommend it.

I have known about Viking Ranges growing up. Seeing them in houses, I’ve been really impressed with how they look. I’ve always wanted a Viking range and I did not know they also had a free-standing fridge that was huge. But, the free dishwasher was the main thing as to why I went with them over other companies. The Viking guy had to come up because we are at a different elevation, so he had to do something. When you turn it on underneath, it takes a little while to light up and I didn’t even notice that but he noticed it. Nevertheless, it looks beautiful and everything that we’ve put in it has been awesome so far. Also, the rep I dealt with was great. I knew what I wanted so she didn’t have to do too much. However, as soon as the first range was delivered, it was all banged up. The lady had it exchanged out within a week and really helped me out with those little things.

The first one didnt know quite how to fix it. It left the factory without the fan hooked up on the bottom. A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it
A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it about five years ago. The refrigerator was built-in and custom-made for the area. And then, the freezer is separate from the actual refrigerator so its got two separate doors. Though very expensive, Viking is a good quality refrigerator. In the last couple of months however, all of a sudden, our refrigerators cooling was not being controlled by the digital display. Its not working even if we tried to actually increase the cooling. So, the technician came in and put in some gas as a refrigerant. And then, he told us to monitor it for another week and if everything will be fine, it’ll remain fine. If not, there’s apparently a small leak somewhere. And then he also told us what it would take to replace the refrigerator if needed or if the same refrigerator has to be replaced with the parts.

I researched on the website a while back and to me, Viking products were outpriced out, so I didn’t care for Viking at all and I was looking more into BlueStar and Wolf. But then this year I went to Best Buy and I saw the Viking range, and the customer service guy there, Cary, started telling me about it. I was looking at it and ended up buying it. And I was surprised because I never thought I was gonna have a Viking. But I love it and I’m happy with the customer service. Now the only thing is the cleaning portion of the ceramic part where I can’t get some tough stains out. And customer service doesnt have anybody that I can call and walk me through it or give me ideas. I have to look on the web, and that’s the only bad part. The baking feature of the range is great but it’s a little bit slow. If I have a cake that is a 30-minute cake, the baking time goes close to an hour. I love to bake and a pound cake is supposed to be 45 to an hour and 15 minute and Viking goes close to the two hour time. The oven turns off and it comes back on, so baking takes longer. I may be doing something wrong but I don’t press the button for a convection oven. So I’ll ask the technician when they come. We wanted high-end kitchen appliances so we were looking at either Viking or Sub-Zero Wolf. We wanted to make sure that all of our appliances match so we went with Viking. Weve had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like its pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I cant go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, were happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like its well put together so I appreciate that. I havent had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasnt put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

We bought this unit in 2005 for a new kitchen with all new appliances. My problems with this unit are numerous and varied. At first we noticed that the interior plastic parts, such as drawers broke easily. These are very expensive and there is a real gap between the cost and the apparent value of the parts. Next, mechanical and electrical parts began to break down. We needed a small fan, available online for $8 and that took all of 10 minutes to replace, that cost several hundred dollars. We have had sensors go bad for similar costs to repair, and now the freezer wont get cold enough to allow the ice maker to produce ice. I would never buy from Viking again. We purchased an expensive D3 series Viking oven thinking that paying a LOT more (than ie a Samsung or Kitchen Aid) will offer us a lot better product. WRONG!!Yesterday midnight we heard a loud noise in the kitchen. Short story we went to the kitchen and found the décor front oven black glass on the floor shattered in a thousand tiny pieces (the oven was off!). We babied this oven and it has low use!! I mean we babied it like our own eyes!!I called several places that carry Viking authorized parts to replace the glass at my expense (even though I am most sure this was a defect on the glass that on the long run stressed out) and I was SHOCKED to hear that this is a special order that the factory no longer makes. SO I am now stuck with an originally $4,000+ boat anchor that we cannot use due to the fact that Viking, supposedly a very high end American manufacturer decided not to sell replacement parts anymore. I have had several other ovens during the course of my life. MUCH lower priced i.e Samsung that NEVER - EVER had an issue getting service, replacement parts and certainly not a single one had a glass explode on its own. This is TOTAL GARBAGE - stay away from this manufacturer and buy other appliances. UNHEARD OF!!!

Viking Refrigerator had the most cubic feet in all refrigerator units in 2006. I owned one since 2006 but there was a corrosion issue in it which caused some problems. The warranty honored most of the repairs and it had been fixed. Then I just put in a replacement for the 2006 model that I had. I have high expectations that this new one will be a little more durable. The interior lighting on the new one is great and the accuracy of the temperature seems to be very good. The only drawback is they are extremely expensive. They jumped in cost tremendously from the first time I bought it. But it would have cost even more to reset the space for a different model. So I went ahead and bought a second Viking. Other than that, Im happy with the performance of it. The length of the order time for the new refrigerator was really excessive. I ordered this new unit in October in hopes of getting it in before the holiday season cause I was having a big party where Id cook enough food for 100 people. But I didnt get it delivered to me until May. Apparently, Viking had to send it back to the factory a couple of different times because there were defects and it didnt make it through inspection.

They did a really good job. I’d definitely tell my friends to buy the Viking range or the oven. I’d be happy to let them come here and try mine. Everyone loves the wall oven in our house in Florida. Ive had a lot of compliments and I like its quality. It’s always done well and it bakes evenly. I’ve never had a problem with it. I’m really, really happy with it.

When I went to a store in Chicago, the place had all different brands and competitors of Viking, but I was sold on Vikings reputation. The salesman was very helpful and knowledgeable of the Viking product and that made the experience very easy for me. Plus I had a deal going on at the time where I could buy a type of package that fit well because we were remodeling our kitchen. Theres been a couple of little issues, but when we have had them, theyre on top of it right away. The first issue was when the icemaker went out and the second one is that the door on the range is screwy. I have a guy coming out today to service my range so the service has been great. Hopefully its not a big deal and its under warranty and everything is fixed and again, well be very happy with our purchase.

Six out of the eight burners failed during the installation. I then called in warranty replacement and they sent the company out and theyre supposedly on back order. Ive been waiting for the replacements for six weeks now. I have two working burners for a $13,000 oven. Im not happy at all.

We were redoing a building and looked for faucets and stuff at Ferguson, so we saw the Viking product there. We heard a lot of good things about Viking and we like their style and stuff. We like the refrigerator that we got from them. Its size and all its shelves are my favorite parts of the refrigerator. It has the filter and it can make ice cubes. The only thing not in our refrigerator is the water dispenser, you cant get a glass of water from it. But the stove is what we fell in love with first. When we had problems with it, the guy that Ferguson sent was great.

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

I like Viking Ranges look but the glass in the oven range door is loose so whenever you clean it, it slides. And I uncovered that one of the burners is actually shaped differently than the other five. I’ve emailed Viking support about it a week or so ago and I haven’t heard back from them yet. I was really just going for the pure industrial range. With the Wolf, we didn’t like the big red handles. I know they offered us black. The Jenn-Air, I didn’t like that it had a digital clock on it. I just wanted that basic, industrial look. And that’s essentially why we ended up with the Viking. I would assume that the Wolf and the Jenn-Air probably have better features. And from what I read online, they don’t have many company issues in the past. But the look drove everything, unfortunately. Also, their dealer always had to contact the Viking sales rep but hes very slow to reply and promised things that never happened. He said he did stuff when he didn’t. It was all pushed back. Id suggest a new sales rep from Viking. From what I’ve also heard, there are not very many companies that service Viking. They were having to call a company out of Illinois, which kept saying that they were scheduled and coming and would never show. And then, they finally found Mr. Appliance based out of Indianapolis that had an employee that used to work for Viking that now works for them. So, they are indeed servicing Viking equipment now. My range is over a year old, so I don’t think I’m under any type of warranty. I did speak to a Viking rep on the phone about the burner. And I don’t know if she was saying that she was going to send somebody to put one in, or if they were just going to send me the part and I had to figure out what to do with it from there. So, I’m not really sure how all that works. I’d probably need to read that warranty a little bit longer. I know there’s a five-year on different types of parts and a one year on something else. So, hopefully, that’s obviously covered since it’s a manufacturers defect that they put the wrong burner on. The burner cap has little legs on the side of it. The burner is rounded at the top. It doesn’t have a lid like all the other five so the cap doesn’t stay put. You’re not really ever touching it, but whenever you pull it off to clean it, you just to have to position it where it sits. I love the way that they look but they were just a lot of trouble.

We purchased a 36 Viking Range model #VDSC5366BSS with 6 sealed burners, sealed broiler, sealed heating element and have had three significant issues. The first, a cracked broiler occurred in the first month after installation. The second time, the broiler broke (November, 2012). We could not get a technician to fix it for weeks (still not fixed until today). Today (Nov. 21, 2012), the day before Thanksgiving, the entire oven does not work. We have called Viking, we have called the distributor (Gene Schick company) and we have called local service people but no one could service this unit. This Viking series has design flaws and should be recalled. Viking is expensive to buy and expensive to repair. My recommendation is do not purchase.

Viking is a good brand. Its made in the USA and we like the look and size of their refrigerators. Ours is working great so far. The temperature control is nice and the doors open and close easily. Its like a French door refrigerator, but they dont hit each other. My sister has a Sub-Zero but its doors would hit each other if they didnt close them the right way. As with ours, the doors seem to be pretty seamless, which is good. However, the freezer in our fridge is like a pull out drawer and if I pull the freezer from one side, it gets off the track a little bit. Sometimes I have to straighten it out and push it back in, which is a little weird. Also, it would be cool if there was a water dispenser inside the fridge, though Im sure Viking has that on some of their high-end refrigerators. As for the Viking dealer, their team was on-time and they answered all my questions. They were absolutely friendly and respectful as well. It was an easy experience overall.

We purchased a Viking dishwasher, model FDW100, just over a year ago and it looks like we will be throwing it away. It does not wash or dry. I tripped the door switch to watch the washing action with the door open and there just isnt enough water pressure from the dishwasher pump to get the dishes clean. If you put a cup right-side-up on the top shelf it can barely fill the cup with water. We had two serviceman look at it and they say there is nothing wrong. They connect their tester and find no diagnostic codes so they say it is fine. I ask them if they check the water pressure from the pump and the answer is; No. We dont check that. (Water pressure is the only thing that washes) As far as drying, well it doesnt. The dishes are warm but not even close to dry. Im contributing the drying problem to the EPA forcing the Energy Star program onto manufacturers. How do you reduce energy cost on a dishwasher? Two ways. Reduce the pumps and reduce the electric heating cycle. I cannot recommend this model Viking dishwasher to anyone.

I purchased a new home with a Viking VWH3648SS professional style residential range hood to accompany the Viking Range that was installed below. It is fitted with a 1200CFM in-line blower. The package cost close to $2500 new. We use our kitchen daily for a family of 4. At the 8 year point, the lighting control knob began to loosen. Eventually, we called an authorized Viking Service provider called, Mr. Appliance They sent out a repairman who worked on the hood and seemed to have repaired the problem. But within three or four weeks, the knob came loose again. We called and the head honcho from Mr. Appliance came to fix the problem. We thought that was the end. Fast forward 5 years later and the knob loosens again. Not wanting to spend another several hundred dollars, I decided to address the problem myself. As an degreed engineer, I am not one to avoid a technical challenge.I pulled the hood switch panel apart only to discover that the switch had been tie wrapped into place. Over the years, heat, vibration and usage caused the tie wrap to stretch. The proper way to have made the repair was to remove the switch face plate which is held in place by the fan, lights and heating lamp rocker switches (spring clips). This provides access to an underlying nut plate to which the control should have been mounted using a 1/2 inch nut. In the process of disassembly, I discovered that the control thread, made of nylon or plastic, had been stripped which might explain why a tie wrap had been used. I ordered a new part for $58 and mounted it correctly, adding a lock nut to the assembly. But thats not the biggest problem. Upon disassembling the hood, I discovered inaccessible areas to be caked with grease so thick that it took a scraper to remove. This grease was checked separately as being flammable. The recess areas and sockets where hot halogen light and heat bulbs sit was particularly thick with burned grease. There were pools of liquid and solid grease in inaccessible areas of the hood that if ignited during a pan fire or electrical fire would provide fuel to burn the surrounding wood cabinets, the drywall and the exposed studs behind the hood covering. Mind you, these areas are not normally accessible for cleaning by a consumer. In my attempt to clean and repair this poorly constructed product, I was exposed to razor sharp sheet metal edges and burrs which had not been properly or safely machined during the manufacturing process. Particularly dangerous is the access holes surrounding the range hood lights where a consumer might attempt to clean only to be cut in the process. There are dozens of complaints in various internet review sites that complain about this issue in consumer accessible parts like the filter elements. Any machine shop professional will tell you that Viking Range has used improper technique in their manufacturing process which expose service people to the possibility of serious cuts.A call to Viking Range customer service resulted in the answer: We dont recommend that consumers access these areas and any tampering will void the warranty. Of course, the warranty is long expired. There didnt seem to be any concern (or understanding) by the Viking Range person of the dangerous design that Viking Range has released to the market.I have video taped my work and after I have a chance to edit the raw material, I will post the shocking videos and will be sending a copy to the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) for recall consideration. This range hood is a fire danger and a health hazard that should be addressed with the thousands of customers who unknowingly have installed this product.I would love to see responses from authorized (or freelance) service personnel with opinions on these issues. By the way, the Viking Range VGRC365-6BD commercial grade open burner gas range that accompanies this hood is just as poorly constructed with dangerous sharp edges. It is a nightmare to clean. Never again a Viking Range product.

Updated on 02/11/2020: I have had Viking appliances for less than five years and have had nothing but problems with every one of them. The refrigerator was so bad that they gave me a new one that was suppose to be redesigned. Well after just a few months I have had nothing but problems with it. I have to make ice cubes in trays!!! The springs break on the doors, top shelf on the right side freezes anything you put on it. Viking should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off like this. Now my range will only work at 350f and the control that I need is $1,400.00 for just the part and viking has done away with their service company, now they sub it out to a local repair shop that knows nothing about this line. I am going to buy a new Refrigerator and I will be posting the old one on Youtube when I destroy it with my excavator just to get some satisfaction.Original Review: I guess I am another dope that bought these appliances without reading the reviews! I thought you get what you paid for but not with Viking appliances. I have the 42 fridge and the 48 range with the griddle option that has not heated up and worked right since day one. The fridge is a complete piece of you know what!!! The ice maker which freezes the water every three months and stops the ice maker from working and has to be thawed is a joke which the repair guy told me it is a known problem but still will not do anything about it.My floors were also ruined from that problem. The ice will not come out right and gets clogged or you get one cube or 100, no in between but then the rest will come out 10 minutes later on the floor. Spring on door has broke. Now the latest is no water on the door and the high temp alarm keeps going off. We all need to get together and file a lawsuit against Viking because this is just not the way to do things. How do they get away with this? DO NOT BUY ANY VIKING APPLIANCES no matter how nice you think they are!!! You will regret it!!!

Our last range was a GE product and it had just failed, so we needed to replace it. Viking came to mind and we went to a local appliance dealer. I have known Viking for such a long time and theyre a very well-known brand. We had done some research online in terms of which ones that are better or worse. Generally, the customer reviews for Viking Range were decent. We had narrowed it down to Bosch and Viking when we went to the appliance dealer and talked to the rep about it to make our final decision. The experience with the Viking dealer was very pleasant. We only spent half an hour there and it was a dealer that we had done business with before. Hes local to us so it was a natural choice. So far, were very satisfied with the quality of the range. We like that the Viking range is solidly built and it is what theyre known for. I believe it is still made in the US. If people want to have a premier range in the kitchen for their cooking and if they enjoy cooking, Viking range is definitely worth the investment.

I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water. My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent. To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.

Weve only had the Viking Range for a couple of weeks. In another home in North Carolina, we’ve got a Wolf stove in there. The same company makes Wolf and Vikings but we wanted the Viking Range as it was the best fit for our kitchen in our new house. The dealer was great. On the day that we were supposed to get the range, they pulled the old one out and my husband realized that he had told them the wrong kind of gas fittings that we needed. The dealer, Cummins, told my husband that the one they had fittings on the floor, the one he had looked at, had actually the right ones. So they went ahead and connected that one instead. In the end, they were able to make sure were getting the right thing. So far, Ive been loving the Viking Range. Everything about it is great. I like the way the burners come off. We bought a house that needed to be updated and remodeled. We decided that the one thing we would splurge on was kitchen appliances. We purchased a range, hood, and dishwasher from Viking. From the moment we began the install, we were disappointed at every turn. For starters, the company sent the wrong metal bracket that attaches to the underside of the hood where the exhaust pipe attaches. It took them THREE MONTHS and three tries to send the right piece! The woman who answered the phone at Viking was useless and it took my husband days to of calling to get someone who could answer questions on the other end of the phone. When they sent the first replacement piece, we called the installer and had to pay him even though he couldnt finish the install because it was the wrong piece. When the right part finally arrived we had to take the hood down and start all over again. The customer support? As far as Im concerned it was nearly nonexistent. The oven itself doesnt seem to be regulated properly. On a 350 degree setting, baked goods bake too fast or burn. Im 62 and Ive baked all my life. Its not me, its the oven. And trying to slowly simmer on the stove-top? FORGET IT! Everything boils away. The dishwasher is another story. It was part of a package deal and now I know why they were practically giving it away. I have two college degrees and I cant make this thing operate properly. No matter what I press when I open it after a cycle everything is wet. The other night my husband started the cycle before we went to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was STILL RUNNING. I am so disillusioned with the products but even more so with the VIKING Company itself. I would never recommend this company to anyone. AT these prices one would expect consumer service to be stellar. Instead I felt as if they resented our calls. SHAME ON YOU VIKING. I was so happy when the appliances arrived. Now Im thinking of selling them.

I was searching for a replacement for another refrigerator and I know Viking had some quality about it. My wife liked it too when we were in the store. The team at the Viking dealer was helpful and cooperative. Everything went down smoothly. This ref is our first French door and I will have to get used to bending over to get into the freezer, but I like all of its features. Im satisfied so far with the quality and it hasnt broken down yet in todays world. Id recommend it.
