Good news! Bradford White replaced my water heater. Luckily the six-year warranty still had three months left. I still believe it should have lasted longer, but at least, I didn't have to pay the $2,400 Roto-Rooter wanted. My total out of pocket amount was $454.

I purchased a water heater Model # UG1H50400TBN, Serial # 0913T400920, from Lowe's in Corona, CA. 05/07/2009 for $528 plus tax. I have replaced the following parts: 02/10/2010 Thermostat Valve, 07/23/2010 Thermostat Valve (2nd time), 08/10/2010 Burner assembly, 02/10/2011 Thermocouple, 02/17/2011 Thermostat Valve (3rd time), 12/17/2014 Thermocouple (2nd time) and 03/20/2015 Burner assembly (2nd time).Today I called WHIRLPOOL Customer service (877) 817-6750 because my water heater water is warm. I told the tech support agent that the pilot light was on so we agreed that it was the thermostat valve AGAIN. He wanted $30 for overnight delivery and I refused to pay. Now I have to go out and buy this part because Whirlpool like the Banks is too big to fail and they have license to RIP-OFF the consumer without penalties. Whirlpool has all of information and they can verify everything I wrote here just by the serial number.

This morning is the fifth morning I had to take a cold shower. My hot water heater keeps going out. When we call, we are told to dust the underneath better, as it sucks dust. Are you kidding? The hot water heater is still under warranty, which means I will have to spend around $200 to have repaired again. So much for top of the line.

I own a small business, and purchased an American brand water heater. It stopped heating up water so I called tech support. They recommended a plumbing company. Took them THREE weeks of guessing and trying replacing different parts to finally give up and send a new unit. Now I have a bill of almost $3000. I could've bought 2 brand new water heaters!!

I recently purchased a Rheem 40 gallon electric water heater from Home Depot. The day it was installed I waited about 8 hours before trying to use the hot water which was a lot longer than the 2-3 hours recommended by my contractor. Much to my dismay, there was still no hot water! After a second visit from my contractor it was determined the bottom heating element was defective. A call was placed to the 1-800 number on the water heater and here I sit waiting and wondering if a technician will come out to replace the part anytime soon. Very disappointing to have this happen on a brand new water heater.

In 2013, my husband purchased a Whirlpool Hot Water Heater model #E2F40RD045V 40 gal. from Lowe's in Vancouver, WA. On 12/12/15, had to call a plumber, the hot water heater was intermittent hot/cold. He flushed it, checked all power connections and changed the elements. On 3/18/16, NO hot water. Having a 6 year warranty, I called Whirlpool. They gave all kinds of excuses and told me to try a bunch of tests. By the time I got back to call them they were closed. I called them again on Monday 3/21/16 and said nothing worked and it had popped the breaker. They said change the elements. I told them I had just changed the elements 3 months before. I told them it was faulty wiring. They said the top element must be faulty. I gave up at that point and called the plumber. He came right out the next day. I had purchased a Rheem hot water heater to install and asked him to check the Whirlpool hot water heater elements he installed before he removed it. That is when it was discovered that under the insulation around the bottom element it was all scorched from FAULTY wiring. I called Whirlpool again and told them I could send them a picture and they said don't bother and immediately gave me an RA to return the hot water heater to Lowe's. I told them I had already purchased another hot water heater and it was not a Whirlpool. I am going to request a refund.

I have supplied the information requested for my leaking water heater. I was told a supervisor would call me back in 1-2 hours. After 5 hours I called again and was told that the supervisor had left for the day. So I am without hot water for another day and I am unable to take a shower. Representative told me there is no telephone number for their corporate office as the supervisor is the only one with the number.

I purchased the Mizer12 for warranty and peace of mind in 2011. While it worked it worked until the center rusted over the pilot and dumped water over the pilot and began leaking at an alarming rate in my basement. 45 minutes on hold the first time left me with someone will call within 72 hours to set something up, meanwhile no hot water or pressure to bathroom shower, called back in afternoon to see where things were at, they hung up on me because he wanted me to place a paper towel under it and see how long it takes to get wet when I told him I am standing in water and when I told him immediately he hung up on me, the third guy put me on hold, on hold again and then hung up on me, I called the complaint department and they put me on hold for another 45 minutes. Broken water heater and broken promise with 3 years of warranty left. I think this is a call for the attorney general.

Will never buy another Sears product. Our went out and it was just over a year old. We were told by Sears a repair person couldn’t come out for a week and a half (meaning I would worry about our safety considering it was a gas water heater and would spend the Christmas holiday with company and no not water). I looked on Sears website and it says if your gas hot water heater goes out, it should be looked at immediately. Very concerned we called a local company in our hometown and they came right away. They said it was a (Sears) manufacturer defect and it actually caught fire and we were lucky our house did not catch fire. I had the hometown company fix it of course. I called Sears to tell them we had it repaired and wanted reimbursement. To make a long story short, there have been many phone calls and transfer of calls when I was finally able to get a response that Sears will take care of it but I needed to fax my repair receipt. I faxed the receipt over a month ago and no response. I called again yesterday and today and another hour or so on the phone, Sears tells me they won’t reimburse me because I didn’t order the parts from them! So I guess I was supposed to risk my house burning down and go a few weeks without water so that I could order their part?! Unbelievable. Please, please, please everyone do not buy Sears products. I have now figured out this could very well be a thing where Sears purposely delays the repair so that you have it repaired elsewhere and they get out of providing the repair and costs them nothing. I was given a list of different Sears department phone numbers and I called all of them and got nowhere. My last number to call is the Corporate office but I don’t think I have the energy to call again and Sears has already took hours of my time. I have always been a good Sears customer but I am done with Sears. It is obvious they don’t care about their customers or their safety. This probably would have cost Sears less than $100.00 so I am not sure why they went through such lengths to not reimburse me. I rarely post on Facebook but I thought it was worthy enough to warn people. I do care about the customers safety and fair treatment unlike Sears. So long Sears... hope it was worth the $100 you saved.

My wife is worried our original Rheem 81V52D 50 gallon water heater is going to go out. I replaced the lower heater about 12 years into its life; only been drained once. 4 people live here and I'm the only 5 minute showering man. Good recovery from back to back showers for 1 hour. Now the hard part is getting a dual 4500 W unit like I had.
