I had the six ultras 95 installed in my home two years ago by a certified installer. It has been running amazingly since then. I have devoted myself to yearly servicing and maintenance. I also change the filters according to usage. I use a Nest thermostat to warn me when to change filters based on usage. I also constantly check the water lines for leaks. My advice to any owner of this product is to take maximum care.

My nine year old XV90 Trane furnace leaks water and two different contractors concluded that the heat exchanger is cracked. Even though the heat exchanger has a lifetime warranty, it will not be honored by Trane because that piece for my model is discontinued. As a result, they will only offer a credit of $360 for that towards a new Trane furnace. For a piece that is the heart and soul of the machine, that amount of credit is simply laughable since it would cost a lot more than that if purchased out in the market. Therefore, this lifetime Trane warranty is simply misleading to say the least. For now there is no resolution other than me shopping for a new furnace and I will never buy a Trane product due to this fiasco of a lifetime warranty.

My inducer has bad bearings, sounds like a 747 in my home when the furnace fires up. In addition, the evaporator is completely rusted. I have a seven year old system, and the builder did not register the system at install. I contacted Carrier and they basically told me to go fly a kite, even though they say they would have warranted their product had it been registered. The outside compressor is badly weathered, paint is peeling, rusted. The install guy said that although it has a Carrier brand on the outside, they took another system and merely added the Carrier logo to it. So after seven years I'm looking at a replacement of the system. Guess what, it won't be a Carrier.

I just got my furnace 2 years ago and the air went out, and now the furnace is not working. I am a senior citizen with 2 grandkids living with me. What a Christmas! Can you help me?

Purchased new Trane XL15i electric heat pump system for over $14K in 2013. Never used since house has wood heat, electric heat pumps are costly and A/C not necessary, Purchased for home re-sale. Discovered unit not operating in January 2015 - first time we attempted to heat house. Now almost May and unit still not working. So far fan motor has been replaced, a capacitor, two circuit boards, and now more Freon added. It appeared to work, but original problem appeared next day. Either units are defective, or technicians have insufficient repair training. I want to sell home, but it won't pass home inspection until the unit works. I should have read reviews, but assumed Trane was a reputable brand. It is essential to have a back up heating system if you choose this product. Unit is attractive and looks "high tech". Too bad it cannot function.

Rheem furnaces are reasonably priced and provide comprehensive warranty coverage. For consumers looking at competing brands, such as Trane, Bryant, and American Standard, Rheem provides reliable heating solutions that should be strongly considered.

I bought a high efficiency Infinity heating and cooling system from a Carrier authorized dealer in Oct 2009. Total cost was approx. $9500.00cdn. Both A/C and furnace came with a 10-year Carrier parts warranty. Also, I purchased 10-year Carrier labor warranty, which was offered in lieu of Carrier cool cash rebate of $350.00. My invoice clearly shows that there is a 10 years parts and 'Carrier' labor warranty on both units. On May 31, 2013, our A/C unit stopped working. The dealer who sold and installed the unit is no longer in business. On June 3, 2013 I called Carrier at 1-800carrier, Canadian helpline. Carrier's customer relations responded. She said that the dealer only registered for 10-year parts warranty and there is no labor warranty in their system. She said that she would send a message to Carrier office in Mississauga to look into this further and see what they could do to help me.On June 3, I received a call from Carrier's technical division in Mississauga, who was extremely rude and simply said, "There is nothing I can do to help you because the dealer did not register the labor warranty." Then he asked me for a warranty 'certificate' issued by Carrier, which I never received. He wanted me to fax him a copy of the invoice, which I did. He said that he would talk to his sales management team and get back to me. He was focused more in telling me how their internal system worked rather than paying attention to my problem. He refused to give me his work number or the email address. He said to contact the 1-800 number (USA) and they would call him to contact me. After three days of several follow-up calls to 1-800-Carrier, the same person calls me back to tell me the same thing that 'there is nothing he can do for me". He concurred that there should be a 10-year Carrier labor warranty on both units as clearly indicated on the invoice. He also agreed that the cost of 10 years warranty was $350.00 (same as the Carrier cool cash rebate, which I never received because it was applied to buy the 10 years labor warranty), but flatly refused to honor the warranty because this warranty is not registered in their system and he could not go back and register this warranty after three years. He refused to send me his response in writing.

I purchased the "extended warranty" through our local One Hour Heating and Air (now out of business). This covered a total replacement installation in 2009 of: a Furnace/Coil downstairs; heat pump/air handler unit upstairs; two outdoor units. Evaporator coil sprung a leak last week and I checked my warranty online and on the phone w/ Goodman and they confirmed my coverage for parts and labor. Called one of their authorized "Asure" techs and he came out and told me the coil wasn't covered.Everything (all serial numbers for furnace, heat pump/air handler, two outdoor units) was covered and registered EXCEPT, they had "no record" of the serial number for the coil. They all start with similar #s (0905, 1001) yet that one serial number for the coil isn't among what they have. I'm beyond angry, especially after reading that that's the part that may have been defective upon install!! *sigh* They said the only recourse I had was to present them with a RECEIPT from 2009 showing that coil on there! After confirming the furnace was covered online, I didn't even consider keeping the receipt. Lesson learned there, I suppose. I will be calling them back today and try and dig a bit deeper. This is ridiculous.
