Product Reviews:

The organization I represent purchased 224 Amana/Goodman PTAC units in 2013, we have had nothing but issue after issue with this product since installation. Blown fuses, wiring issues, incorrect fuse holders, etc... Now there is a product recall on 160 of the units, we submitted the application and Amana sent us the parts to perform the upgrade ourselves. When I called the phone number provided for the recall they tell me to contact Amana in regard to the labor. When I contact Amana they tell me apply online. I would not recommend purchasing any product from this organization.

This is a great window air conditioning unit from Midea. We have rated it the best overall because of its affordable price, innovative features, and cost-cutting performance. It is backed up by a worldwide warranty of one year for parts and labor charges. It is very easy to install and comes with all the mounting accessories required to set it up. Even the screwdriver required for installation is provided with the unit. With its fast and efficient cooling, this is the unit you should be considering to buy for yourself. Not only is it a fabulous performer, but it is also one of the highest quality appliances from Midea.

Replace our 15 years old trane air conditioner and choose Goodman from the same contractor. Contractor told me that there is no need to replace the ductwork and just did some sealing and cleaning job.

We own a 5 year old Trane HVAC system that came with a 10 year warranty. It just required a $1400 repair which the repair technician indicated was a design flaw/manufacturer defect. I created a case with Trane requesting reimbursement and their response was a quite dismissive form letter denying any responsibility for their faulty system. Check out their Facebook page before purchasing a Trane product. It's FULL of similar complaints from other disgruntled consumers. I intend to file more formal complaints.

Payne is a good air conditioner company, their HVAC systems seldom let you down. When I read reviews about it though I found a lot of negative reviews and wondered if the quality had been watered down. I ignored most of it though because sometimes the installation is the problem. I replaced my old Ruud ac with Payne and so far it has only proven me right. The system was installed about a year and a half ago and all I have done is routine maintenance. Do your homework before installing your HVAC system because most of the time your installer could have done it wrong.

We purchased our air conditioner in 2007 and have had problems 4 out of 5 seasons. Living in Michigan, we basically have only run our air conditioner for a little over a year now. The 1st year, a bad sensor had to be replaced; 2nd year ran okay; 3rd year, it ran constantly and hardly cooled down our home. At the beginning of the 4th year, it ran out of freon and was recharged, and last year it ran out of freon again. The installer found a pinhole in the coil and it had to be replaced. Our installer/"servicer" was very helpful and worked with us to help keep labor costs down but, Carrier should stand behind their product and cover all labor for warranty parts. I shouldn't have to pay labor charges on factory defective parts. It's very frustrating to have purchased a top-of-the-line unit, only to feel like we ended up with a lemon and have little recourse but to accept Carrier's less than satisfactory limited warranty. I get the feeling Carrier couldn't care less about the little guy, once a sale is made. At least the car manufacturers cover labor and parts for warranty work. Type Of Product : Central Air Conditioner, Serial Number : **, Model Number : 24APA324A0030010, Installed Date : 05/17/2007.Update 5/3/12: Surprise, surprise, here it is the beginning of the warm weather season and we turned on the AC today and it isn't working. We will have to wait until I can get a "servicer" out to find out what's wrong now.

When we built our house 8 years ago, the builder insisted on installing a TRANE unit with the suggestion that they were a very reputable company with a good product. In the 8 years we've had it, we've had 4 service calls on this unit, the last one was today and the tech informed me that the cheap copper tubing was rusted through and the condenser was damaged, total cost of repair will run me over $ 2600 to replace the air handler, the coil and filter drier. This is utterly inexcusable. I've probably spent almost 1500 already on service calls and repairs on an 8 year old unit, pathetic.

It’s just perfect for my wife bedroom. Being paralyzed she found her room was getting very hot and this small unit does the work and way better than the 3 house fans. She just love it.

Our residential central air conditioner a Trane XL1200 and XE90 furnace was installed back in 1996. It has been extremely reliable. The air conditioner is service checked once a year and has never failed once. The furnace has had the blower clutch go after about 13 years and start capacitor went after about 14 years. Very minor repairs with not one electrical or major mechanical failure on either. Getting a good contractor for installation is essential. We had the local Trane dealer do the install of which the bulk of their work is commercial installations. Not sure about the other reviewers but I recommend Trane to everybody for the reliability and efficiency.

The variable drive DX20VC is an excellent choice for the homeowner that plans to stay in their existing home for 5+ years. This pay back on savings from utilities, comfort, and lack of noise that this unit provides is second to none. We have installed many of this exact model and I can honestly say that we have not been back to one installation for anything. The warranty is the best in the business and the factory support has been great. Nice product Daikin!
