Nov 21, 2019 Warranty with lots of loopholes. I have bought a few Goodman furnaces in the last few years. I flip houses for a living and have rentals. I used to think they were a good value. Just had some warranty issues with 2 units.! Four years old bad induced draft motor. And plugged heat exchanger. The second one 5 years old bad blower motor. I called Goodman about both units and they would not honor either warranty. If you do buy one make sure it is registered and the date it was made not just installed. And when I took another look at the warranty it is not covered if bought on the internet. I currently am talking to a few attorneys about their warranty practice and what can be done. I will never buy a Goodman or Dykin Ever again.

We built our house in 2013 and replaced the compressor 5 times in 8 yrs. We now changed brands and completely changed everything, compressor, air handler, etc. Our builder was kind enough to replace until we changed brands. Cost us over 4k.

We had a new air handler installed in our condo in the spring of 2014. Since that time, we have had the evaporator coil replaced three times and the blower motor replaced once. Although Rheem offers a ten year warranty for the parts, they will not pony up for labor for the customers out of pocket expenses. It cost me $1450. Despite the fact the coils are obviously defective, Rheem will not take any responsibility for a product that is less than reliable. They are so bad that they currently are saddled with a class action lawsuit. Save yourself a lot of money and buy a product from a credible manufacturer who offers a reliable product.. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.... DO NOT BUY A RHEEM AIR HANDLER.

KeepRite has been keeping Canadian homes warm for more than 50 years, and in that time they’ve earned a reputation for reliable and high-quality products. They have a range of models available depending on your needs, including more affordable standard-efficiency options with ratings of 80 percent AFUE and higher (though these are meant for the USA market), high-efficiency models with ratings up to 98 percent AFUE, and options for both gas and propane furnaces. Beyond that, each unit is tested before being delivered, and many come with a 20-year warranty on the heat exchanger.

I recently moved into my custom built home. During the planning phase I requested TRANE equipment due to prior good experiences. Upon completion I had no idea that the TRANE equipment had to be registered 60 days after closing (I am sure it's stated in the fine print or piles of documents one receives when purchasing a new house). Minor mistake... WRONG! The difference is with a brand new home and brand new trane furnace/ac/coil equipment you lose 5-7 yrs of warranty on the equipment if you do not register in 60 days... NO EXCEPTIONS, NO OPTIONS, NO INTERMEDIARY SOLUTIONS. BASICALLY NO ONE THAT APPARENTLY REALLY CARES! I strongly recommend using another company that is more transparent with their policies and has a real customer service department that is equipped to do the right thing when necessary! 10 year parts warranty if you register in 60 days! 5 & 3 year warranty if you don't... same new equipment, same new house but a rigid, ridiculous policy that none of their customer relations employees can even really defend. We've already had the furnace go down (23F outside) & now I learn about their policies & customer relations efforts. I'll never make this mistake again (Trane equipment).

I have been selling and installing York/JCI equipment for decades. We have installed thousands, and as an authorized dealer, we are trained by the factory and stay on top of all the new equipment install requirements. Our warranty program is in two parts. 10 year parts, which does not include labor costs, and then part two is offered at a small additional charge, which includes parts, labor, and anything else needed to make the repairs or replacement of the faulty equipment. When installed properly, these unit simply do not have problems. Out of over 5,000 systems we have had 4 actual warranties, which is an unheard of low percentage industry wide. Each contractor is obligated to explain the system warranties and what is available to them to be sure to have all the correct information. Each review I have seen on this system is of issues that were avoidable if installed or managed correctly by the dealer. True York dealers that do the job right just don't have these issues.

Our heat pump compressor and related parts that were installed in our residence in 2011 required a replacement parts July 2016. We are very dissatisfied with the quality of our "top of the line" Carrier Heat Pump System. Parts are warranted for 10 years, but the issue remains, if the system is what Carrier boasts this system as their top of the line product, why do we need to have to pay for the compressor and related parts to be replaced. We are being charged a high rate of $167 per hour to replace these parts, along with $167 initial cost to diagnose the problems. It seems as though we are paying for the parts along with the repair, for a unit that should last 10 years. Sunset Air is the contractor replacing the parts and has estimated labor charges in excess of $1,300 just to replace the needed parts (8 hour job). Carrier has told us they are not responsible for labor charges, but the unit should hold up for the 10 years as boasted for their again "top of the line unit".

We have 2 Carrier AC units in our home. Installed brand new on new home in 2016 and there have been over $3,000 in labor and shipping costs to repair the units. They even charged us shipping for a replacement part that was dead on arrival and we had to pay shipping costs and labor costs again for the repairman to come out again with another part. That was a little over a month ago and now the same part needs replacing again!!! Never buy this brand ever again. They’re selling junk and then charge you shipping to replace parts under warranty but you’re stuck paying the labor. They must know they are selling defective parts and systems. Why would we have needed to replace the air handler parts 3 times in 3 years?

Trane XV90 Furnace is a Bummer. This furnace was installed 7 years ago. I am now faced with replacing a cracked heat exchanger for $1200 (labor only; warranty covers part) and an end bell/fan motor for about $1500. No way should this be happening on a 7 year old unit. Might as well install a new furnace (different brand) for another $2000 and get a 10 year parts and labor warranty!
