Lennox Heat Pump Warranty

Lennox offers warranties for their heat pumps to provide coverage for parts and, in some cases, labor, in the event of manufacturing defects or issues arising during the warranty period. The specific warranty terms can vary depending on the model of the heat pump, the series it belongs to, and the region where it is installed. Here are some general guidelines regarding Lennox heat pump warranties:

Standard Parts Warranty: Lennox typically provides a limited warranty that covers the cost of replacement parts for a specified period. This standard warranty duration can vary but is often in the range of 5 to 10 years. The exact terms will be outlined in your warranty documentation.

Limited Labor Warranty: In addition to parts coverage, some Lennox heat pumps come with a limited labor warranty that covers the cost of labor for repairs during a certain period. The labor warranty, if included, typically has a shorter duration than the parts warranty.

Optional Extended Warranty: Lennox offers optional extended warranties that can provide additional coverage beyond the standard warranty period. These extended warranties may cover both parts and labor for a specified number of years.

Registration Requirement: To activate and fully benefit from the warranty, it is often required that you register your Lennox heat pump with the manufacturer within a certain timeframe after installation. Failure to register may result in reduced warranty coverage.

Transferability: Lennox warranties are often transferable, which means that if you sell your home, the new homeowner may be able to take advantage of the remaining warranty coverage. However, specific transferability terms may apply.

Terms and Conditions: It's essential to carefully read and understand the terms and conditions of the warranty provided with your Lennox heat pump. These terms will outline what is covered, what is excluded, and any maintenance requirements to maintain warranty eligibility.

Professional Installation: Warranty coverage typically requires that the heat pump is installed by a licensed HVAC professional. Proof of professional installation may be required to validate the warranty.

Regular Maintenance: To maintain warranty eligibility, you may be required to perform regular maintenance on your heat pump. This may include tasks like changing air filters, cleaning coils, and ensuring proper refrigerant levels. Keep records of maintenance for warranty purposes.

Coverage Details: The specific components covered by the warranty and any limitations or exclusions will be detailed in your warranty documentation. Commonly covered components include the compressor and other key parts.

Since warranty terms can vary depending on factors such as the model and region, it's essential to review the warranty documentation provided with your specific Lennox heat pump or contact a Lennox dealer or authorized service provider for detailed information about the warranty coverage for your unit. Additionally, be sure to adhere to the warranty's registration and maintenance requirements to maintain full coverage.

Purchase my home in 2021 which was built in 2015. Previous homeowner had one of the two AC evaporators replaced under the Lennox class action suit. It failed within a year of being replaced. The second unit failed this week due to massive leaks. Both units are less than 8 years old. Was quoted $4k just to recharge the systems in order to find and repair the leaks. No thanks! Done with Lennox! Will never buy one nor recommend them to anybody. $26k later and I have two brand new York inverter heat pumps with 10 years parts and service warranty. Want to get screwed over? Purchase a Lennox.

We have 2 combined units with Heat Pump and Cooling. Every year we are having to replace parts and get them repaired. We just got told today that the latest issue was going to cost $900 for a part to repair the AC. I don't know any of my friends or neighbors that have this issue with their HVAC. Last week we had to have the other unit fixed. Some of it was covered by parts warranty but we still had to pay about $700 for stuff that wasn't such as more coolant. How does my Car's A/C go 7 years without any failures while it is flying down rough roads but a unit that doesn't move is constantly breaking down? Don't buy Lennox.

I have 2 Lennox XP25 Heat Pumps. They were suppose to be the top of the line. They fail quite regularly. Each has had a variable fan motor changed, one 2 times. One is leaking some coolant now. They are 5 to 7 years old. I would not recommend the Lennox brand for any heat pump. When these die, I will never replace them with Lennox and I will always tell my horror stories to anyone. Just tonight another failure....who would have thought. Shame on me if I ever purchase one of their units. I would refuse even if it was gifted for free. The repairs are enormous in cost. I am surprised that they are still in business. Maybe they will get bought by a foreign company who can put quality in their product.

On 8/4/2020 a 2-ton Lennox Merit series single stage Heat Pump model number ML14XP1-024 was installed in my home by Ronk Brothers Heating and Cooling at a cost to me after rebate of $9359.23. On 4/19/2023 I happened to walk past the outside unit as it began to run and I noticed a strange noise coming from it. I called Ronk Brothers and they sent out a tech on 4/21/2023 at a cost to me of $270.41. He diagnosed that the unit wasn’t operating as a heat pump and my house was only being heated by the emergency heat strip. The faulty part was ordered and the tech and his service manager came to complete the install. Unfortunately the problem had been misdiagnosed and a different part was required.
