Product Reviews:

I had a new Trane HVAC unit installed three years ago after having nothing but problems for years with the original unit that came with the new house I bought. When we turned on the heat this year nothing but cold air came out. The installer came out and tells me that the TXV unit is bad, has a clog, and a hole is in the freon line coming off the TXV. Total cost $1400 so far. When I talked to Trane they won't cover anything but replace the TXV which I have to pay to be installed. Due to it failing I have to pay for the Freon, and due to it blocking the line it caused a leak in the line, I have to pay for it to be repaired. TRANE claims to be the best there is, IT IS JUNK. Three years and a major failure of parts are not normal and as a consumer, I should not have to spend thousands of dollars to fix TRANE junk. STAY AWAY FROM TRANE, poor product and no customer service.

I purchased this machine in April and already, the right leg is rusted and the under seam of machine is rusted. I have throw rug under it and where the leg is, there is rust on the rug. I called service from Whirlpool and 2 servicemen came out. The first one told me I was loading it wrong and the water was splashing over the inside tub to rust the leg and I asked, "So why is the seam under the machine rusted?" No answer. The second one came out and told me he could not find anything wrong with the machine and doesn't know why it is rusting, but he never gave me a paper to sign off on. He also said that maybe it was rusted when it was delivered. Not!!! Then I call P.C. Richard in Watchung, NJ where I bought the machine at and told them about the problem. They sent a serviceman out and he said that the bleach condensation is causing the rust, it's known fact that this machine has this problem. He said that the water does not run through the dispenser but there is a model that does. I want a credit on this machine and get the upgraded one. It states on the machine that I can use bleach but it doesn't say it will cause rusting. I want you to tell me how a 9-month-old machine is rusted on one leg and the seam underneath is also rusted!!!! I had a machine for 10 years and it wasn't rusted. I am very unhappy with this product and with the customer service of Whirlpool. This is my first Whirlpool washer and I would not recommend this washer to anyone. I paid $600.00 for this washer and it should not be rusting.

Our experience is exactly the same. So what can we all do. We are about to replace the coil (aluminum versus copper, our HVAC serviceman says will make the difference). He is not 100% sure the problem is there since the leak is "very small". To really check will cost about 600 for a nitrogen test. So at this point we are down $300 for visit and freon replacement and potentially down another $600 to replace the second coil. Our unit like the rest is 2012 with problems in 2014 and now.

Ac is ok. Heating is good after a few years. Its quality declines after about 5 years. If could I probably get a stronger a/c heating unit. I think it’s a rating of about 5 out of ten. I could be a better unit if they would lower the price and increase the square footage it covers I think.

Buy another brand. This AMANA unit has a ten year warranty and the condenser stopped working after 8 years. Goodman refuses to honor the warranty. They sell crap and then don’t warrant their crap. DON’T BUY GOODMAN/AMANA! Buy a Trane or any other brand! I bought a C/A unit in 1982 and sold the house in 2016 and the condenser/compressor was working just fine after 34 years! This junk quit after 8! The cost was $6840.00! And no warranty! CROOKS!

I am very impressed by its amazing quiet, great looking and easy installation. I have been looking for a window air conditioner for my medium sized studio for a while and I am glad I brought this one right before the summer comes and had it works out perfectly. My husband installed it by following the instructions, it’s simple and quick. Since it’s very hot yesterday, already above 90F, I turned it on. It cools down quickly, and for most important think, it is very quiet even though it’s getting up to speed which is out of my expectation.

I had a HVAC company to install a brand new heat pump. But Trane indoor coil is easy to leak. My indoor coil lasts only 8 years. As I did not register my heat pump, Trane refused any warranty for its faulty product.

We built a new home with Schalmo Builders (Canal Fulton, OH) three years ago. We trusted their expertise in selecting a quality, reliable HVAC system for us. They chose a Carrier unit, and it’s been nothing but constant problems, breakdowns, costly service calls (with no resolution), run-around answers, fights & battles, hot summers with NO AIR, and winters with unbelievable heating bills due to our Carrier unit’s inability to properly switch from standard heat to very expensive “emergency heat.” Our condenser was replaced after less than one year. We’ve had more than a dozen service calls on the unit during the past three years. We are currently waiting for a replacement blower motor that has been on order for weeks now and is not due to arrive until mid October. We’ve been without air the entire summer (2019) due to our unit constantly blowing fuses. We’ve paid $600 in labor to replace all different kinds of Carrier parts that did not fix the issue. We have a parts warranty which is a joke because of expensive labor costs to fix a unit that is only three years old. Our builder will not admit that they gave us a terrible HVAC unit that we will most likely need to replace, saying their hands are tied. That’s reputable. BUYER BEWARE of complete junk Carrier units!

We bought a small refrigerator/freezer Model WRT112CZJZ for a guest house. When not in use it was turned off at the unit control panel with the doors left open. There was a power failure and when the power was restored the refrigerator turned itself back on. Needless to say it must have been running for 2 weeks with the doors open and the condensation filled the holding tank and then proceeded to overflow on the wood floor. The floor was ruined. There was no indication in the manual to warn of the unit restarting when power is restored so it must be unplugged or the circuit breaker turned off to avoid a similar problem.

This is one of the brands from INTERNATIONAL COMFORT PRODUCTS which is a part of UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORP. The PERFORMANCE 14 (N4A5) units are basic air conditioners with a durable powder coat finish but they use a wire coil guard to protect the condenser coil fins which does not actually do much to protect them. The units have a 14 SEER efficiency to meet all of the regional standards but their guarantee is not very good when compared to other brands. The SOFTSOUND DELUXE 19 (CCA9) is a premium unit with a variable speed fan motor, swept wing fan blade, and compressor blanket for quiet operation. They have a good guarantee but it is only average when compared to other brands. The units are sold in the USA and Canada but only through their approved dealer network. comfortmaker.com
