We purchased a new refrigerator 2 weeks ago. The first one that was delivered was defective and after sending out a repair crew that could not fix it, it was replaced with a second defective refrigerator. After spending hours on the phone, KitchenAid sent out a repair company that stated the entire compressor and coils needed to be replaced and compared it to a new car needing a brand new engine and suggested having KitchenAid deliver us a new refrigerator. We requested that KitchenAid either deliver a brand new working refrigerator or pick up the defective one and refund us our money so we can buy another refrigerator elsewhere. KitchenAid refused and told us they just cant help us even though the refrigerator never worked from day 1 and is under warranty for 30 days. We spent a lot of money for a brand new refrigerator and do not want a rebuilt model when we paid for a new one. We have been without a refrigerator for 2 weeks now, have spent numerous hours taking off from work waiting for delivery and repair people and KitchenAid is not willing to assist us or even offered us any kind of concessions to make this situation right. We are extremely disappointed with this company, their customer service and how they conduct their business.

As one lady from Mount Pleasant, SC reported, we are experiencing the very same issues. Weve owned our 30 inch slide in gas range for 3 years and when you brush up against it you wont even know until later on when you smell gas that one of the knobs was turned ever so slightly emitting the gas fumes. I contacted KitchenAid Customer Experience and reported this matter and to see if they have come up with a fix or recall. There hasnt been any. With all the news of gas explosions happening to houses across the country, this is definitely a safety issue. Im hoping Consumers Union and/or the Consumer Product Safety Commission can do something before someone else experiences a horrifying event.

We purchased a dishwasher, microwave, oven and refrigerator from KitchenAid about a year ago and are currently having the refrigerator repaired for the 3rd time for the SAME issue! The fan in the refrigerator (KRFF707ESS01) doesnt work properly which allows ice to form in the back. This means that the drawers dont close anymore and the fan is very loud since it is hitting the ice. KitchenAid customer service has been absolutely useless. Im very disappointed in the product quality and the company and will never purchase a KitchenAid product or any Whirlpool product ever again!

Our KitchenAid refrigerator (Refrigerator model KRSF505ESS) did not perform in less than a years time. It was still under warranty, but the customer service experience with the Whirpool Corp. has been terrible. Hours on the phone... Appointments made for service were canceled in the headquarters. Never checked with the repair people. It has been almost a week that I have been dealing with the problem... Never want to deal with this company again! The fridge still is not fixed!

While wiping out the interior of the upper oven to my KitchenAid Electric Double Oven Range, after completing a 2.5 hour self-cleaning process and the cool down period, I noticed an area of the blue interior coating (enamel?) began chipping away. The oven is less than one year old and under warranty. A service person inspected the oven, stated this part is not removable for replacement or repair. The service person telephoned in the concern and was informed of a patch/repair paint kit and said it will be shipped to me. However, it was suggested I contact KitchenAid directly if I found this solution to be unsatisfactory. After the departure of the service person, I inspected the chipped area further. Cracking was noticed on both sides of the chipped area that extends out an inch to an inch and a half on each side causing concern that the issue will continue.KitchenAid customer service was contacted and this manufacturing defect was reported. The KitchenAid customer service representative stated that KitchenAid is not able to provide any help or assistance with this issue since these material and workmanship defects are excluded from warranty coverage after 30 days from the date of purchase.

Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

We purchased a new Kitchenaid refrigerator (dishwasher, stovetop and microwave) from Pacific Sales in Mission Viejo in July 2012. After three months, we noticed leaking from the refrigerator that ruined our hardwood floors and contaminated our kitchen with black mold! The technician repaired a cracked valve and we spent the next month living under construction to have our entire downstairs level repaired (new hardwood flooring, kitchen cabinets taken out and reconstructed, walls repaired and repainted). Flash forward two years, our freezer stopped working!! Kitchenaid referred us to Veterans Appliance in Garden Grove. They found a broken compressor and broken evaporator. After waiting three weeks for a repair, the repairman showed up with the wrong evaporator. We then needed to wait two months for this repair. Now our refrigerator is not producing cold air even though set at 34 degrees!!!! What proof does Kitchenaid need to REPLACE THIS DYSFUNCTIONAL REFRIGERATOR?!?!?! We have spent thousands of dollars and wasted excessive amounts of time dealing with Kitchenaid and their customer service. HORRIBLE!!!

Whirlpool owns KitchenAid. BUYER BEWARE!! The dishwasher does a good job but God help you if you ever need to use the warranty. Mine has a door leak. The repairman came out 5 times and replaced the tub twice, the door liner, the door, the hinges and the latching mechanism. There is still a 50/50 chance it will leak depending on how hard you slam the door and I do mean SLAM. They have taken up almost 15 hours of my time. The warranty says they will repair or replace the washer. THEY WILL NOT. You are dealing with dishonest people with no integrity. They are like an insurance company and they will do whatever they can to wear you down and not honor their obligations. Do yourself a favor. When looking at products, pass up the KitchenAid items.

Just cost me $1,602 in labor charges to fix a six-year-old KitchenAid, side-by-side built in refrigerator. Yep, the top of the line one! The parts were covered under the warranty because the appliance had a Freon leak, which caused damage to the compressor, evaporator coil, and heat exchanger. Now I ask you, if a company recognizes that their appliance should not break down in this way in only six years, as evidenced by their willingness to hand over the parts free of charge, shouldnt they pay for the labor as well?! Oh, and to get the parts for free, you can only use one of their authorized service people, who of course can and do charge whatever they want. This company should not even bother having a customer service dept. They do nothing except repeat their hard line and refer you back to the legalize of their warranty. Never would I buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

The first one I bought was defective so KitchenAid replaced and installed it. Never have I had the dishes cleaned. I have had to replace the toolbar at the top and now its defective again. The last repairman assured me it was installed well and the water was hot, etc. After he left, the dishes are still dirty. I just gave up. This dishwasher is just a piece of junk with a big price. Im going back to GE Profile, at least my dishes were always clean. KitchenAid should not be allowed to get away with selling defective dishwashers. Worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

My wife and I, the only folks in the house and in our 70s, remolded our kitchen with KitchenAid products. The refrigerator, now 5 years old, has had two ice makers replaced at $700 and the temperature panel for the refrigerator side hasnt had a light for 3 years. The ice maker chute mechanism simply fell apart one evening while we watched TV. The microwave door hinge fell off and the temperature probe in the oven stopped working. We had two sets of GE appliances in our 54 years and replaced them with new styles, not because they were broken. KitchenAid customer service told me I should expect to repair kitchen appliances and would send a repairman if I paid for it? What a ripoff!

In November of 2010, we had just finished our $18,000 kitchen renovation. Our $2500.00 side-by-side with freezer drawer on the bottom is a beautiful stainless steel. Was delivered and installed by Lowes. That is when the fun began. After about 2 weeks, we noticed that the food in the freezer was soft to the touch but cold. We gathered the children and told them of the importance of making sure the drawer was closed all the way. After several days and several lessons in proper door closing procedure, I noticed that there was never any ice when I wanted a cold drink. I soon came to realize after the food in the top part of the new $2500.00 beauty became room temperature that there might be a problem beyond my children and proper door closing procedure. Then the real adventure began. I called the customer service number in my trusty manual and spoke to one of the clear speaking people in charge of handling such situations. I was told that they would send a repairman to look at the refrigerator and the appointment was scheduled. When asked what to do about all the food in my stainless steel showpiece, I was told that they are not responsible for food loss in this type of situation. Maybe one of your neighbors could store your food for the time being. Yes, maybe I could have a neighbor store food for my family of 5 until I could get my metal closet repaired (midnight trips to get a snack are now more exciting). I then had the pleasure of meeting a repairman who was more than happy to look at my wonderful now skunky-smelling top-of-the-line food storage device. Mr. Repairman started poking and tapping and doing repairman type things. I will need to go through this section by section to try to eliminate possible causes to the problem, Mr. Repairman told me. When I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, I was told, Minimum of 4 hours to dismantle, however many hours to do the repair once diagnosed and another 4 hours to re-assemble. Great, I said, My new state-of-the-art cold food making contraption will be spread out all over some repair shop for who knows how long?Oh no, said Mr. Repairman, We do it right here in your home. You what?????? You are going to take apart my appliance here, diagnose the problem, order the part, come back when the part comes in, repair it and then re-assemble it ????? Yes. How long are we talking about ???? 7 to 10 days if the parts come in. After a quick dial, I was back on with customer service telling them what I had just been told. Let me call the repair company, please hold. After a brief hold of about 20 to 30 min. I was told to have Mr. Repairman contact his office. When Mr. Repairman was done with his call, he printed out a slip from his little portable printer and told me that his office and KitchenAid determined that the repair was going to cost too much and that the unit should be replaced as totaled. Wow, what a relief. I was now put in contact with a customer service rep to arrange for my nice new right out of the box stainless steel replacement. Within 2 weeks, will have the new one delivered. What? 2 weeks? What am I to do for 2 weeks without a refrigerator? You can rent one until your new one comes, I was told. Anyway after my waiting period and lots of take-out, my new ice box arrives and is installed to numerous cheers from the kiddies. We thanked Mr. Deliveryman who left and we went on with our lives... until about 2 and a half months later. Honey, did you leave the freezer door open? Everything is soft. And there is no ice. Ring, ring. Hello, customer service. How may I help you? After an even more entertaining episode and even more trips from Mr. Repairman who used the term deja vu, it seems like I have been here before (long term memory is not an issue here). Mr. Repairman said that this was common and that a part needed to be replaced. He didnt have the part but it will be ordered. How long are we talking about? 7 to 10 days. Well eventually Mr. Repairman came back and replaced this little rubber part that lets condensation drip onto a pan so that it can evaporate. Problem solved... NOPE!!!!!! Several more visits from Mr. Repairman and several times telling him that yes, he had been here before KitchenAid decided that this unit also was too much to repair and authorized a replacement. And yes, it was going to be another 2 weeks. At this point I said, Hold on. Why would I want this thing replaced a third time? Can I get a different model? No, that is not an option. 2 weeks later, my brand new stainless steel right out of the box replacement replacement food keeper cold thingamagig makes its grand entrance. Mr. Deliveryman who also say it feels like he has been here before installs and again leaves. Wow what a journey. All this just to keep food from going bad even though twice it did. And after all this, I am still sane. I liked the refrigerator when I saw it in the store. It looked beautiful. Now all is going well and we still have our KitchenAid and it looks like everything is finally going to be... Oh wait I forgot to tell you that I just got off the phone with customer service because unit number three is doing the exact same thing. If anyone is interested in a stainless steel boat anchor, please let me know because I have one made by the good people at KitchenAid.

We purchased a Kitchen Aid gas stove-top in August 2010, for $1,323. Today, I noticed that the knob for the fan was cracked in two places, because it is made out of cheap junk plastic. We barely ever used that fan. We bought a Kitchen Aid stove, based on their reputation, which apparently they no longer deserve. I asked them to replace the obviously defective piece, but they just copied and pasted a bunch of warranty paragraphs. So instead of replacing the knob for me, they would rather have me write reviews of their product. So here it is!

I have a KitchenAid Refrigerator and Microwave Oven Combo which are 8 years old. The refrigerator went out on 11/26. My warranty was out so they sold me a 1-year extended for $429.00. A&E came out on December 3 to fix the refrigerator. The repair guy said it was the circuit board and would order it. He said it would take 1 week to get the part. The part never showed up and A&E called to find out if I received the part. The repair guy told me to move the fan to keep the refrigerator cool. He told me the part is back ordered until January 19. Now I am out of a refrigerator and freezer. I lost over $400 in food. I called KitchenAid back to get a tracking number for the part. They told me the part is due in on December 19th so I booked another appointment. After 15 calls to A&E and KitchenAid, I found out the part is now discontinued! And the reason is that KitchenAid stopped making it. But the system had a glitch and no one knew it was not coming in. Four weeks and still there is no working refrigerator. A&E came out to pull the circuit board to have it rebuilt. Another week before its fixed or is it? I called to get some sort of compensation and answers but again no one knows what is going on. I got mixed answers to my questions. I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance! Then the spring on my microwave/oven went out. They sold me another warranty for $350.

Bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher 15 months ago. Almost $900. Wife wanted it to match our KA fridge. I thought, for that kind of $$, the KA DW would clean better and last longer than my moms $300 Kenmore. But the KA has never cleaned well, even with top-line Cascade products. This week, it would start but not complete a cycle. Nothing in the manual about this. Called customer service. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they have no troubleshooting advice for this problem. My only option was to pay for a service call and the machine is just 3 months out of warranty! I told the lady that I would be writing many uncomplimentary reviews. Im convinced that KitchenAid is not worth the extra money. It is NOT a better product.

We purchased a KUDE40FXWH dishwasher in March of 2011. The top rack glides kept popping open letting the rack fall off. This probably was linked to binding due to breakage of the plastic pins that connect the glide wheels on the glide bracket. Three months out of warranty, the wheels on one side fall into the bottom of the dishwasher. Both sides have now been replaced for $250. The service technician said this is not isolated and they encounter this on these models. We called Whirlpool/KitchenAid and they politely noted the problems. But once they had the information, they made it very clear that they are unwilling to supply anything at their cost to correct our problem with their equipment. They are glad to have the info for engineering future equipment but are calculatingly unmoved about the predicaments of people who have bought their products to date. We paid for a higher end dishwasher to get reliability and service. KitchenAid is not worth the premium. I could just as well have bought a bargain brand and the repairs wouldnt have been any more than the glitzy one.

We have had ongoing problems with our dishwasher model KDFE104DSSI, which we purchased as part of a total kitchen set of appliances for install in the fall of 2015. Since the first year of purchase, we have had four (4) electronic keypad replacements, as well as, other problem parts. Each time the technician assures us that this is the only working part and with the *new* keypad, the problem will be solved. Well, the problem has not been solved and we are left to wonder why they will not just replace the dishwasher with something that does not stop working every 4-6 months. We are always asked if we purchased the warranty and we have not as this is a continuing problem and we should not have to pay them to fix something that has not worked properly since the first year of purchase. Nor should we have to pay to have a technician to come replace a part (which generally requires a month to order and return visit to install) over and over again. Dishwashers that cost half of this monster are more reliable and clean better as even when this thing is working we have to pre-wash our dishes! We are extremely disappointed in this dishwasher and our KitchenAid (Whirlpool) experience.

Our brand new KitchenAid fridge has malfunctioned since we received it. Instead of replacing, Kitchenaid forced us to go through Lake Appliance repair for service. 10 visits and multiple replacement parts later, still malfunctioning. Kitchenaid customer service is MIA and designed to prevent customers from reaching them. The repair guys can get through easily, and in fact are told not to talk in front of the end customer. Our 1 year warranty expires next month, so we had to buy extended since the unit still is not functioning properly. The unit was very expensive and “American-made.” Do not buy from this company. In the Spring of 2006, I purchased 4 new KitchenAid appliances for my new gourmet kitchen. Within a month, the control panel of the slide-in oven had to be replaced. The oven stopped working a month ago. The dishwasher has been performing worse and worse every week for a year.I am tired of rewashing by hand all my gritty dishes and glasses. We rinse dishes before we put them into the machine and they come out dirtier than when they went in! Today I will spend the day taking it apart in the hope of cleaning out the guts and getting it to work. Never had to do this to any other dishwasher before. The Magnatron in the microwave had to be replaced one year ago ($125) out of pocket. Two months ago a chip in the control panel had to be replaced ($150), I should have listened to my girlfriend who said throw it out and buy a different brand. My french-door Kitchen Aid fridge has half a dozen broken plastic parts. I have never seen anything so flimsy. I have no kids man-handling my appliances, they are just poorly made.Thirty years ago I got a top quality Kitchen Aid mixer, it still works like new. That is what led me to buy Kitchen Aid everything when I did my upgrade in 2006. I had forgotten that the mixer was really made by Hobart (a really good company) What happened to Kitchen Aid? When did they start making the worst quality appliances? Or was it always this way with them?

Purchased a KitchenAide Gas Range model number KGRA806P SS00 in 2006. Two years later the off pad stopped working, being on a very tight budget we learned to use the timer to turn off the stove thinking that we would be able to afford a new touch panel at a later date. Last year the whole touch pad freaked out when trying to use the self cleaning mode which we had used on several occasions before. The last two years before the oven stopped working all together the convection oven didnt cook evenly. This is the absolutely biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased! About the only thing I think this range is good for is to use it as a boat anchor! KitchenAide/Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to produce such a faulty product. All I can say thank you for is that I didnt replace the panel over and over again like some of these poor folks did.

We recently bought a kitchen full of appliances and have already had the double wall ovens replaced (after less than a year) and the ice maker in the refrigerator has NEVER worked properly. Kitchen Aid is a pro at disassociating themselves with resolving the problem. I have now had service on my refrigerator 4 times, replaced the ice maker only to have it still dispensing crushed ice I have neither selected or wanted. This time, they kept me on the phone for over an hour (really) as they passed me from person to person only to schedule service but not tell me that they did. Each time they come out, it will generate yet another visit if they need to order a part. AT WHAT POINT WILL YOU TAKE THIS APPLIANCE OUT OF MY HOUSE! I foolishly purchased the extended warranty for all my appliances - well this only lets the manufacturer off the hook because they push everything off to the extended plan that I paid for even if the problem occurred under the original warranty! I purchased a KitchenAid stainless steel dishwasher on 5/9/2009, model number KUDX03FTSS. As of now, the stainless steel is rusting. How can this be? All of my other stainless steel appliances are over 10 years old and they are not rusting. The bottom line is KitchenAid is using a sub quality of stainless steel in all of their appliances. I called KitchenAid and they said there is not a warranty for finish on their appliances. How convenient is it for KitchenAid to reduce their cost of materials by using substandard stainless, then say there is no warranty on the finish? That is nothing but a ripoff by KitchenAid. I will never purchase a KitchenAid appliance ever again. I hope who ever reads this seriously considers another brand.

Bought this June of 2016. Looks great and worked great. Received the ultimate error code. PO flashed every 10 minutes or so. Fridge shuts down and restarts. Fridge and freezer parts stopped working correctly. Replaced the pantry Drawer UI PCB circuitry board and the harness attached as instructed by Whirlpool through an authorized repair facility. Six hours later, error code returns and there are no noticeable changes. Had the evaporator motor replaced at a follow-up date, as the original part was wrong that was shipped. This cooled the fridge and freezer correctly, but the PO error code returned.$800 later, tech support at Whirlpool has 2 or 3 more ideas as to what else it could be. The fridge is out of warranty and customer support can only offer me $75 to help for the $3,500 spent. My 14-year-old Conquest fridge by Whirlpool in the warm garage is working better and has only cost me $45 in parts since new for a new fan motor. The design problem is that there is a circuit board under the water dispenser, and no way to keep any leaking water from frying the circuit if that was ever a problem. Im hoping the next dart we throw hits the problem(s) and fixes the issue.

This is the first time I am taking out the time to write a review in hopes I can save people from making the bad choice of choosing KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. We have experienced several problems with several of their appliances but by far the worst is with our 42 side by side built in fridge (over $6,000.) Our first unit had so many problems within two years that Whirlpool finally replaced the unit. This was not easy but with good documentation, photos and me just not backing down, they finally did the right thing. We received the new unit on 12/3/08 (so only 4 years ago) and the icemaker which never really worked well is now broken and caused a lot of damage to our kitchen wood floor.Water dripped down through the bottom of the freezer door onto our hardwood floor. Unfortunately, water can do a lot of damage fast. After another frustrating experience with their customer service department, I finally got an appointment with a repair service. I wont even get into the details of that frustrating experience. Well, the ice making unit cannot be replaced because of insulation in the fridge door and we would have to purchase a brand new door. This would cost about $1,400 to replace and take 6 weeks to order the new door. Never mind the expense of replacing the hardwood floors. The Whirlpool Company could not care less. The door is rusted at the bottom, so this went on for a while but we did not notice it until it got really bad and the water started puddling in front of the fridge. Also just two weeks ago, we had work done on our 4 year old Whirlpool washing machine ($350 repair cost) and now it is starting to act up again. I assume that I will have to replace it soon since I am not willing to put any more money into it. These appliances are poorly built and dont represent the quality product they once were. I hope I was able to save someone out there from making the mistake of investing in any Whirlpool (or any of the other lines built by them) large appliance.

I have never complained publicly before but for the protection of other consumers, I must share what happened to me yesterday with my KitchenAid stove and oven that I purchased 7 years ago for $1,245.00 (model number KGRA806PBT). It is supposed to be the top of the line product with convection oven. First of all, I agree with many people who have written here. I tried the self-cleaning oven one time when I first purchased it and it overheated and the thermal protector failed. The part was covered but not the service call ($100.00). I have never used the self-cleaning feature since. Also, for the past year, the oven has not always worked. As it heats up, I will often get an error sign on the panel. So, I just have not done much baking. Yesterday, I was not even using the stove or oven, and I heard a hissing noise in the kitchen and then a popping sound and then fire! The printed circuit board started a fire in the oven which immediately filled the entire kitchen with black smoke and flames. If I had not been home, I would have lost my house! But I happened to have been home! My husband was also home, although he was supposed to be at work. Thankfully he had a fire extinguisher in the barn so before much damage was done, he had the fire out. Of course Elders Appliance in Grandville, MI, where we bought the stove and oven, (and all our other KitchenAid appliances) said they have never had any complaints! Ya, right! Please do not ever buy a KitchenAid product. Terrible!

Purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Home Depot on their recommendation. The machine was absolutely quiet for 6 months. Then the troubles started, Noisy - can hear in next room, grating noise on occasion and loud clicking when starting. Sent repairman, replaced control unit, then replaced motor assembly, then came and said they tested and everything was ok. Turned on machine and it was whirring loudly and repairman said sounds normal. Called KitchenAid to complain as well as Home Depot. Depot said not their problem but connected us to KitchenAid as they didnt answer the two calls I made and left messages. I wont bore you with any more details except to tell you to stay away from this brand and the parent company Whirlpool. Horrible customer service and worse product. Their people are rude and simply dont care. I had to give them a one star even though they deserve minus two, also beware of Home Depot. They couldve pressured KitchenAid but didnt. Worst appliance I have ever purchased, never again!!! Run from this brand.

In January of 2013 I bought a KUDE70FXSS dishwasher. It was a top line model and I wanted to buy local. The racks are now rusting out as they come with nonpermanent little plastic caps at the end of the racks. We didnt realize they were gone and now the whole rack is starting to rust to the point where new caps wont fit on the racks. How wonderful! I paid over $1400.00 for this unit and now its rusting out. What a poor design. KitchenAid or my supplier P.C. Richard wont cover it because its considered cosmetics . I should have bought a German dishwasher! Im disgusted! You try to do the right thing!

Purchased new refrigerator Oct 2013. One year later it failed - not keeping food cool enough. Parts were replaced. One year later it failed again - same problem but different cause. This time it was a manufacturing defect which, according to the repairman, was well known but we had received no notice. Again, according to the repairman, there had been six updates to the control panel during that year but again, no notice from KitchenAid. Now, two months later, it has failed again. This time it is some sort of internal water leak which was undetected until it ruined about half my kitchen cabinets, the lower adjacent wall and several feet of living room wood floor. Fortunately I have both home insurance which will cover most of the house damage and an extended warranty on the refrigerator which will cover that repair but I am still out a substantial deductible which I intend to be reimbursed by KitchenAid. Further, under no circumstances would I recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. This particular model is a POS and further, KitchenAid does not apparently care what happens to the appliance once it leaves their factory.

We wanted top of the line appliances to last through our retirement in our new home. We purchased KitchenAid. Our freezer stopped freezing and when we called for repair they said that even though a ten year warranty existed for major parts, it could not be repaired. We are disappointed at the results that we have received from KitchenAid for they wanted to send yet one more repairman, who would charge us an unreasonable amount and we would need to pay for repairs if they could be made. Retired persons need to believe that they can depend on purchases to last.

KitchenAid Range Model # YKESA907PB00I bought a KitchenAid electric range in 2006, black in color. First time using it, the paint scraped off the top of the control panel from a pan, exposing the aluminum beneath the pan. I replaced the control panel face plate with a stainless steel on so that this wouldnt become an issue again. A few months later, the off button stopped working on the control panel. Yesterday, I opened the oven door and an error code came up telling me that I need to replace the control panel. This will be the third control panel on this piece of ** in 5 years. How pathetic is that! Appliances are supposed to last 20-30 years, not 5, especially after paying $1800 for it. I now know that the KitchenAid name is nothing but marketing hype. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid appliance and strongly urge others to do the same.

How does KitchenAid have an overall 4 star review on this site? All the recent reviews I have read sound SO familiar. All are equally deserving of the 1 star scored. Our experience is no different. We made the mistake of buying based on reputation. KitchenAid had a good reputation (past tense); thats about the sum of it. Very much appears the KitchenAid brand and reputation got flushed down the toilet when they went under the Whirlpool umbrella - both in terms of product quality and customer service. So, here is our story. We furnished our entire kitchen with KitchenAid appliances. Though we have had our appliances about 4 years, the failures started within months. The scratch resistant cook-top easily scratched. KitchenAid wouldnt honor. The bottom handle on the refrigerator has never attached correctly. KitchenAid doesnt seem to care. The dishwasher, however, is the gem! We have had to replace the soap dispenser three (3!) times. We have had to have the entire motor replaced. The wheels on the bottom tray ALL fell off. And, then just this evening, the digital control panel failed. Failure is the operational word here. KitchenAid appliances are a fail. Would NOT recommend to an enemy.

New fridge delivered 1/30/19. 2/9/19 freezer completely covered in ice, day 15 freezer still not properly working. Called Kit Aid/Whirlpool & they said “we’re slammed”. They couldn’t tell me if it was in warranty. Told me to look at my manual. After many calls, a new fridge was delivered. They took fridge out of box to find one upper door was significantly damaged. Their answer was to take door off the one being returned & replace the damaged door. 8 months later freezer items are melting & refrigerator temp goes to 45 degrees. Thermostat is replaced. January 2020 freezer drawer & ice very loose. Won’t stay in place- another service call. February 2020 everything in freezer is melted again-another service call. Now, there is rust on the outside of the freezer door, and the top left door doesn’t seal well at all. The seals on both sides are torn. I was told that might be expected on a 15 year old appliance but certainly not on an 18 mos old fridge. I suspect when they swapped out the door from the broken fridge it didn’t fit correctly. Also, KA said I must have used abrasive cleaners & brushes for the rust to appear. That has never happened. We have been extremely careful to use only water and soft cloth to wipe. Their insinuation is insulting.I have been given names, emails, phone #s at Whirlpool, at All South Appliance etc. The customer service is lousy, non-exsistent in fact. After sending multiple pictures to different people, I have been told they cannot extend warranty coverage (I had been told twice that was probably how it would be handled). To say I am irate is an understatement. Never buy a KA. It doesn’t matter that you spent $3000 for what you expected to be high quality. It is junk and corporate KA/Whirlpool could care less.

This refrigerator is just over 1 year old and it has stopped cooling 5 times. It is a defect that KitchenAid is aware of and they arent doing anything to fix it. They have an internal service bulletin on this issue. They send a repairman out and he replaces a part and 2 months later it stops cooling due to ice build up behind cold cut/vegetable drawer. They continue to make different repairs until your warranty is expired, then you are out of luck. KitchenAid knows they have a bad product. They dont have a permanent solution, yet they continue to sell this model. What kind of company does this? How do they get away with it? AN ATTORNEY NEEDS TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! Maybe that will get KitchenAids attention.

The problems started right after the 1-yr warranty expired. So first the top rack came off, the roller plastic part broke. Although the racks are supposed to be a 2-yr warranty item, only the rack itself, not the mounting parts are and therefore the roller part was not covered. Next, the Control Cycle lights for the 1-hour Energy saver wash cycle stayed on, dim when not chosen and bright if chosen. I called Customer Support and was not given any help except an offer to hire a technician starting at $180 to see what is wrong. I went online to see what was available, tried a few recommendations but nothing helped turn the light completely. Next came the detergent door latch not working. I ordered the part for $110 and it came with no installation instructions. I called customer service and nothing was available to help us install the replacement part. I managed to replace it and that works now, but now again, at only 1 yr and 7 months, the dishwasher now has additional lights that will not shut off completely and none of the wash cycles work. So I am without a dishwasher and just horrified to call them again. I wish we never got our KitchenAid Dishwasher.

A really poor finish, the high level of engine noise is noticeable in the day!! And a bad customer service. On May 27, 2016 at Home Depot I bought a KitchenAid Refrigerator which at the time of the delivery was damage by the people who delivery it. I kept the refrigerator for a few days until the next delivery. The new equipment started making unusual noise. We contacted KitchenAid again who sent a technician who did not find any problem according to him The sound is normal. Another technician was contacted since the freezer started making ice on one side not the other. He came to fix the issue, but resulted in burning the appliance for which we have evidenced of in pictures. According to him, the problem was fixed but a bigger damage was created on the lateral side of the fridge. The problem was reported to KitchenAid, who told me that another technician would be sent from another company. The last technician came, saw the unit and said that the problem could be resolved with an add on kit based on what KitchenAid told him because those units had several recalls and complaints for the same issue. The technician came with the accessory and this kit is not for this unit 2016. The kit is a fan that is located in the ice maker which is located at the top, not in the freezer where is the biggest problem, and the tech found more problems, filtration and dripping water in the drawers of vegetables. That waste of time and lack of knowledge and effectiveness by the representative of KitchenAid. I want a new unit or my full monetary refund. Ive had the unit only for three months and it is unacceptable. I have pictures of how I received the unit and the damages made by the technicians. I have contacted on several occasions 4 time technical visits and still have the same problem. I still waiting for any answer.

I called and they sent a repair person and it was changed. The same problem appeared 2 months later. I sent pictures to the service department and questioned why this problem is reoccurring. They told me that they are changing the service company and the new service crew will take care of it. After a month, a new panel arrived and then A&E Factory service called and set up appointment for repair. The panel was changed and again, a couple months, the same issue. I called the service department and to my surprise, they told me that they do not warranty cosmetic issues. I complained that this is a defect in design or their manufacturing process. They did not care. I sent a letter through my attorney to Jeff Fettig, President and CEO, Whirlpool Corporation. I had a call from their executive office and they promised the problem will be fixed for good. Next, we had a call from A&E Factory service for repair schedule. They changed the front panel, top tray and a burner. I thought this fixes it and were excited, but the serviceman hinted on similar problem many places which has been reoccurring. Anyway, the problem is back after four trips and now I called Whirlpool service and they are telling me that it is over a year and out of warranty. I am sure this product has a major defect and they need to do a recall or get a panel which the paint stays on. I will never buy anything from Whirlpool corporation for as long as I live.

This range (Frigidaire Gallery 30 electric range model# CGEF304DK) was included in our new home purchased last year. The range looks nice but the oven racks repeatedly fall down causing the food and pans to spill out! This problem I was told was due to my neglect. Are they kidding? Steel racks are not long enough to stay in contact with the oven sides! The racks are not distorted or bent they just fall down. This could cause serious flesh burns and or a catastrophic fire if unattended for any short time period. KitchenAid totally abandoned their responsibility in this matter. Also the convection fan failed to operate. This upscale range is not older than 3 years, its a disgrace. We put tin cans in to support the racks when using the oven. Pitifully sad. We purchased a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator (Model KRFF507ESS, 27 cu. ft, French door with ice/water machine) and in the 4 years weve had it, weve spent almost 50% of the purchase price (close to $1300) on repairs. This model has a documented problem with the frozen fresh food evaporator - Google the issue and youll find numerous customer complaints about this very issue. Most recently, the ice maker stopped working and we were told itd be an additional $455 of repair. The authorized service repairman in our area (whom weve gotten to know due to the ongoing repair issues) even commented during this most recent visit that the KitchenAid models hes serviced last, on average, 8 years. When I explained the situation to KitchenAid Customer Service this afternoon, they offered to schedule a non-warranty service for me (i.e., something I could literally do by picking up the phone myself). After being transferred to a KitchenAid supervisor, I was then told that theyd offer me a 40% discount off a brand new product. After spending almost $1300 on a $2600 refrigerator! AS IF. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. We thought we were purchasing a quality product and its been nothing but a lemon, requiring costly repair after costly repair. We take impeccable care of all appliances/products, which is what made this situation all the more frustrating. Folks, be sure you purchase those extended warranties! Now the day before Thanks Giving the repairman says it is not fixable. Kitchenaid want $741.73 dollars from Us to replace it and the new one won’t be available for at least a month. This machine is a piece of crap! It started failing in the first year. DONT BUY KITCHENAID, they Do Not stand behind their products. So Frustrated! Our new refrigerator like others never made it below 50 degrees in the freezer. That refrigerator was replaced after one week (thankfully) but the new refrigerator has never made more than 12 ice cubes! We called and they replaced the icemaker. Now after one week, since that icemaker also doesnt work, we have called again and scheduled another repair service call. At that time, the operator told us to turn down the temp of the freezer (below the recommended temp) so that it will freeze faster. We will see or we will replace this refrigerator with a different brand. It makes me wonder about the brand new KitchenAid dishwasher and oven we purchased at the same time.

My Kitchen Aid dishwasher is less than two years old. I had one repair at 6 months. My dishwasher stopped working recently so I called Kitchen Aid and they said I needed to have it serviced at my cost because it wasnt under warranty. When the repairman came he found the clamp detached from the pump and water was everywhere. He stated that Kitchen Aid has many issues with this type of clamp. In fact there is a recall of the clamp on certain models but not mine... However it is the same clamp. Kitchen Aid refuses to admit that it is a similar problem even though I now have a blue dot on the model number plate indicating that the clamp has been replaced. I have had repairs to appliances and never have I noticed that unless it is a recall.

Ice dispenser never sealed properly. Ice bin would freeze solid and local repair wasnt satisfactory. Finally, after the electric panel on the freezer door shorted out, we were told we needed an entire new door for over $1700. These doors are apparently made when ordered, so it took over 8 weeks to get the first door. It arrived crushed and unusable. Then the morons at KitchenAid made a second door, which also arrived damaged and unusable. Now we are waiting for third door to be delivered. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID MAJOR APPLIANCE! We are having the same problems as others with the Kitchenaid Microwave Hood Combo (KIHMS155LSS3). We own two units (one at lake cabin & one at home). The cabin one was running when I returned after being gone for 6 days & the only way to shut off was to unplug it. It was not used or plugged in for three days. Then last night at 1:20 am I woke up to it beeping and the control panel read 5:42 & it would not cancel so I had to unplug it. When I heard about this a year ago I started unplugging my cabin microwave whenever we were gone. Im frustrated & will be contacting Kitchenaid even though others have said it will do no good.

Just 4 years ago we purchased this dishwasher (KUDC101XWH) to replace another KitchenAid that we had for almost 20 years with literally no problems. The new dishwasher has now stopped working for the 5th time. The first time was under warranty but the fuse was not covered - of course. Then it was the latches, and then it was the wiring which was fixed two months before. We have spent about what it cost to purchase it in the first place. KitchenAid has been no help. I was told by one of the service people never to buy this brand nor Whirlpool nor Maytag. I am attempting to get my last service payment refunded and will go out today to buy another dishwasher - not KitchenAid!

We bought a new Kitchenaid refrigerator French door bottom freezer model # KFIS29BBWH03. The Fan noise is horrible. Sounds like an Ambulance coming down the road. Very unacceptable. We also have ice on the back of the unit inside the refrigerator part which the latest service man, whom we have had four come, said it was a problem with the indoor ice. It also causes the shelves to be wet all the time. The service man has ordered a new computer board for that issue but says the fan noise is normal even though we can hear it throughout the house. Just want to throw this refrigerator in the trash but it was very expensive and if they could fix the noise problem I would be happy. But the noise is driving me up the wall. Wont buy anything from Whirlpool, who owns Kitchenaid and Maytag, again.

If I put even one dish in the wrong place, several dishes above do not get washed. Take a top load with two small plates in the bottom. Coffee mugs on the top dont get cleaned. Our KitchenAid refrigerator has had a host of issues since we bought it. The main current issue is ice buildup at the bottom of the freezer, which has created huge puddles that have warped our wood floor. The issue is a plugged defrost drain line. KitchenAid knows about this issue, as there is a published workaround and a new part to replace the too narrow, easily plugged drain line. I havent bothered to call them because its out of warranty, and they are sticklers for their 1-year warranty. Also about 9 months after I bought it, I noticed rust starting on the stainless steel door. It was caused by a faulty heating unit in the French doors, which was causing moisture buildup along the inside of the doors. KitchenAid sent a tech out to fix it for free. BUT the rust was not covered by warranty at all (Theres a 30-day warranty for cosmetic issues, never mind that the cosmetic issue was caused by an equipment failure).

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher in June 2011, model number KUDE70fvss2, and I have had nothing but problems with it. I bought it because KitchenAid is notoriously quiet and I live in a smaller home and I did not want to hear noise all over my house. Nothing has fallen off or apart, but this dishwasher has never and I do mean not one time cleaned my dishes properly. All dishes and glasses are left with stuck on food. Lipstick never comes off of cups, glasses or silverware. All glassware is cloudy with all kinds of drinking matter still inside. I have to wash everything by hand when the cycle is over... I have had the repair and warranty people out too many times to mention. Water that runs through is scalding. I use recommended products and have even made my own hoping something would help. Alas, this seems like nearly $2k down the drain. Anyone else with this problem? Im a senior and should have written Kitchen Aid a long time ago, but now that I plan to buy another dishwasher, I think I will deal with them. Has anyone else out there gotten their money back?

Architect Series II Electric, free standing range: Overall, DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID product due to user error, we needed to replace the oven door seal/gasket. After searching online & by phone in our area and being told that part is not available, I called KitchenAid. As we had registered our appliance they were able to verify our range was only 5 years old. THEY NO LONGER HAVE GASKETS FOR THIS MODEL. No other model gaskets will fit this model. Instead of the anticipated $60.00 repair cost we were told all they could do was sell us a comparable model for employee cost... not including shipping, installation and haul off of our current unit. I blew MY gasket & told them absolutely not. Not one .00 over the stated cost!! The upshot? $700.00+ later, with a wait of over 2 weeks, we will get a new range. They had us over a barrel with no other options for the price. I am flabbergasted, frustrated, disappointed & without a working oven for over half a month. I have always thought of KitchenAid as a quality product & in fact have been happy with the unit. I cannot recommend KitchenAid any longer with its program of planned obsolescence. KitchenAid as a company is horrid. Decent products, lousy policies with employees stuck in an awful position.

I have a 4 year old Kitchenaid Dishwasher. We spent over $1,000 for it thinking we were investing in a very nice, long lasting machine. After a year, the right clip on the top rack broke and needed to be repaired by a technician. 6 months later the other side broke and we needed another service call. In the last few weeks, all 8 wheels have fallen off the bottom rack. We run the dishwasher about once every three days. I spoke to Kitchenaid customer service this morning via their online chat. The service representative admitted that there were so many complaints about my model that it should have been recalled. She said there was nothing she could do for me. I called and spoke to a customer service representative and their supervisor and they both refused to provide the replacement parts. My model is KUDE 40FXSP3. KFIV29PCMS00 - We got that fridge on January 2014 - so its 2 years and 4 months. The icemaker has never been performant - slow to make ice, but were not using it much so we didnt complained. About a year after we noticed iced was starting to build at the back of the top cabinet near the ice maker. We phone to KitchenAid and were told it was normal and to not worry about since the performance was the same. Yet 2 weeks ago we found all the ice was melting - cubes were soft and wet. We turned it off, but the next day we found the freezer was also melting, then all the refrigerator was not providing cold air at all. Called KitchenAid, the clerk is telling me nothing Ive said is under warranty. Then I told her Have you ever heard about Legal Warranty, and 30 secs later she came back and told me I will have nothing to pay.2 days later, the tech finally came in and said, the second evaporator had a leak so all the coolant leaked out and he had to replace it and also replace all the ice cube mechanism. A week later he comes back with all the parts to do the repair, but then as he opened the back cabinet he found it was filled with stains and black mold. All that comes from the water leaking from the ice maker, dripping inside the fridge and accumulating, then evaporating (from the anti-ice). So we were unaware of that water accumulating inside the cabinet (not accessible) and gradually forming mold (black mold and worst). Now my kitchen is full with refrigerator parts everywhere. The tech has gone as he doesnt want to work on the rotten refrigerator, and Im being ping pong at KitchenAid service and no one is telling me what to do and what will happened. The tech told me the cabinet cannot be replaced and cleaning all that mold is almost impossible. In other words he can only think about replacing the fridge altogether but KitchenAid is not responding. We paid high $$ (almost $3k) thinking we would be free of such problems, but were ending up with that situation after only 2 years. The previous fridge lasted 18 years and never had any issue before 17 years, and the one before that was second hand and lasted 20 years. Im pretty mad and discourage.

I have had Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) refrigerators for many years now. The older side by side was efficient but difficult to fit all frozen items in especially Pizza Boxes. So the newer Freezer I have is a Bottom Drawer Freezer, which may seem like a good Idea but is quite the puzzle to use efficiently. Most of the time, items are just stacked and get lost or hidden so you wind up taking more things out just to get to what you want. This type of freezer is not user friendly, but I guess is designed to allow better use of the Refrigerator portion of the unit. One last note, mine do not seal properly and frost built up around the drawer and now Whirlpool needs to replace it, the refrigerator is less than 1 year old and was $4,200.

It was delivered with the side dented, which given our timely need, we decided to live with as it’s mostly hidden. We have found however that cleaning the stove top is very difficult (heavy pieces to remove and place back) and the stainless steel surface scratches and scuffs way too easily. I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator from KAM Appliances in July of 2012 and received delivery in September as they were on back order. From the beginning, we had difficulty regulating the temperature of the refrigerator. It is model KFFS20EYMS. When I called KAM the first time the technician they sent told me I did not open the refrigerator often enough to let in hot air - in the meantime, I am throwing out enough fresh produce since it seemed that the vegetable crisper was the most troublesome spot. I was also told it had to do with the ice maker being below that although the meat drawer is between them - plus I would assume some type of insulated barrier. The second time I had someone come they replaced a part and told me those thermometers you can purchase to check the temp are no good. The sales department at KAM told me the only thing the could do was sell me a new refrigerator - and this one not even 6 months old. I would never go back to KAM for another appliance and I purchased two other appliances the day I order the refrigerator - thank goodness they were not KitchenAid appliances. When the one year manufacturers warranty ran out, my husband spent a very well invested $49 for an extended warranty. Those men have been here 4 times and I still have frozen produce and now things are freezing in the meat compartment. KitchenAid should stick to stand mixers. If I were a woman of means, I would take this refrigerator and throw it away and buy a Kenmore!! If I could rate it less than one star, I would.

KitchenAid model KUDE70FXSS Dishwasher - Bought this unit in 2011. Out of the box, the control panel never worked right. I would frequently have to reset by unplugging and re-plugging the machine to get it to work. 3 years in, the control panel died and was replaced by the appliance store under an extended warranty. The top rack wheels have broken off twice and been replaced. Bottom rack wheels have broken off once and been replaced. Top rack after 6 years is peeling and rusted. Dishes will not clean completely unless you wash them first (kind of defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher) and the prowash cycle takes forever to run. All this time my wife has said, “We paid a lot for it and we will make it work.” FINALLY last week, a rubber spatula fell on the heating element and burned badly... stunk up the whole house. After days of fighting trying to get the burnt smell out unsuccessfully, I got my wife to agree to get rid of it and buy a new dishwasher.... It is NOT a KitchenAid. All that is left now is to get rid of the stove and refrigerator (yeah the stove/oven dont work much better).
