My LG refrigerator failed after about 5 year. LG warranty is 10 years for parts only but labor is $375. I was told that the labor rate is a flat $250 but they’ll charge you an additional $125 for preauthorization fee. Their refrigerators are not good products. You’ll have problems with the ice dispensers from the beginning.

Machine does not fully drain, allowing a smell to build up and be washed back into your clothes. Difficult to clean debris from drain holes in rubber seal. In the event that you need to drain the machine, there is no drain function. It needs to be manually drained from a tiny hose at the bottom of machine. And for us, that meant into a hose, through the garage and down the driveway. Look for a drain feature on my next purchase!

LG washing machine broke after 3 years in a household of 2 adults and our 18th month old daughter... No reason why except defective machine. Customer service no help. After dealing with them our household will NEVER purchase another LG product again... The machine was very expensive and purchased in 2013. Its been leaking on our brand new wooden floor for a year. Our floor was completely ruined the underlayment as well. No one here (Marthas Vineyard) will service LG machines. Were going to dump the machine... Biggest waste of money. I Googled it and TONS of other people are having the same issue with LG washers. I smell a class action suit.

We purchased our matching washer dryer combo from Sears as part of our remodel on our bathroom when our prior set died for the 10th time in 6 years. However had I known that $20-$70 repairs would amount to less than the headaches I would now be dealing with, I would have kept those workhorses any day of the week. Not only does our washer smell like everyone elses no matter what remedy we try, but it leaks, and leaks, and LEAKS! Weve had it serviced 3 times in the last 6 mos. trying to replace things that were wrong from the motor to hoses to outlets and now find out theres lawsuits because of these issues. Because of cutting corners and faulty mechanisms I have to do more laundry, which causes more leaks, which causes more laundry, crazy cyclic cycle. When are we the consumers going to say ENOUGH and when is anyone going to have our backs to compensate and make this right for us? Im tired of paying and paying and paying while these companies continue to manufacture GARBAGE!!! My washer still leaks after dumping thousands of dollars down the drain! Thanks LG!!! (SARCASTIC TONE, in case there was any doubt).

I bought this washer to replace a 20yr old Kenmore when I moved to my new house. Large loads, blankets etc I was told it would work for all. Within a year there was a recall because it became unbalanced. I had that fixed. Every time I do a large or heavy item this machine goes off balance. It does not stop but goes over and over again from the beginning, wasting water and electricity. In other words I have to do multiple loads and/or stay in the house checking on the machine to be sure it doesnt go into this wasteful cycle. I will never buy a LG product again and in only 3 yrs I am looking to replace this one.

Our $ 2400 LG French door refrigerator and freezer was delivered on Feb 1, 2011. It died on 12/14/11. Its been 27 days since our ice maker stopped, then the freezer, then the refrigerator. Lost hundreds of $ worth of food and medicine. Customer service with the repair co. is a joke. Every day its a different reason why they cant get to us. LG is waiting for them to call or they are waiting for LG to OK the extended warranty. And we even have two service contracts, one with Home Depot and one with LG. I guess we are just at their mercy and have to wait.

Ive had numerous problems with my LG Washer TROMM WM2688. There is bellows hose underneath the tub that gets a hole in it and leaks every few months. It takes about an hour and a half to fix it. I’m on my 5th bellows hose now. It just went out again. Ive also had the water fill valve get stuck on and stay on. I had to replace it. It also has a problem with draining the water from the tub. I get an error saying water is not draining. You hit restart from the pause and it will continue. It could be the pump out, the sensor out, or the control board out. Not sure yet. If I couldn’t work on it myself, I would have spent enough on service to buy a new one. It wouldn’t be an LG. I’ll buy no LG products.

Ive posted on this site regarding my Maytag stackable washer and dryer. Now Im posting regarding my BRAND NEW LG stackable washer and dryer. After much researching online regarding stackable washers and dryers, I finally went with the LG brand. My Maytag washer went dysfunctional after 6 months. For the following 8 months, I had Maytag repair guys at my home, every two weeks, to fix the same exact problem. I had an error code that flashed on the machine. It was THE same code each and every time. Every part that was replaceable on the machine had been replaced, yet the problem continued. Maytag customer service is HORRIBLE.Now LG. The washer, when pumping water into the machine, caused a loud thumping in my walls. The vibration of the washer caused a rubbing and squelching noise from the dryer stacked on top. The company is well aware of the dryer problem and told me, There is nothing we can do about it. They are selling a machine they KNOW has a problem. The washer problem was an electrical problem, also not fixable. And when a certified LG technician comes to your home and tells you in all honesty that he has nothing good to say about his company, then THIS IS A MAJOR problem. The machines are 2 DAYS OLD AND DO NOT WORK. Customer service is HORRENDOUS. I literally spent an entire day talking with customer service. It was only when I was speaking with the 8TH representative that a repair appointment was finally made. One representative actually asked me this, Can you describe the noise? Can you better describe the noise? Can you give different words to describe the noise? Who knew there were so many ways to ask the same exact question repeatedly? I also had to repeat answers to other questions as well.Needless to say, the machines will be returned and I am on the hunt for a different brand. The problem is, when you go to research the variety of brands, all of them have complaints. And what I have noticed is that for the majority of brands, their machines become dysfunctional at the two year mark. This is pretty shabby, considering you are spending close to $1000 or more per machine. I just dont have thousands of dollars every year to spend on appliances because the companies out there, cant seem to make durable products anymore. My parents have Kenmore appliances. Theyve had the same appliances for YEARS and no problems. What happened to decent machines? And what the heck happened to great customer service?? If there was a 10 star option for the worst service and machines imaginable, I would choose that.

I have Model WT1101CW LG washing machine and can say with total honesty that this is the worse machine I have ever owned. It goes out of balance so many times during the wash cycle that it takes hours to wash a load. It keeps filling with water to try to rebalance itself so it wastes water and ultimately we end up stopping it with the clothes still wet to dry them because it will not spin them out. We spent over $400 dollars on repairs already and it still doesnt work. UE, UE, UE I am so sick of that code. Dont buy this machine!!!

LG Refrigerator LSXS22423S. Purchased LG Products for entire kitchen on 5/11/19. On May 18, 2016 LG refrigerator completely failed. I had purchased a 5 year extended warranty on all LG products. I called LG service and was scheduled for a tech appointment on 5/20/19. No one showed up. Called LG service dept, again was scheduled for 5/24/19. No one showed up. Was scheduled again for 5/28/19. No one showed up. Called LG service again, was told refrigerator was not covered with the extended warranty, but was covered under the manufacturing ten year warranty. They said I probably needed a compressor replaced. Now I am scheduled for a tech appointment 6/3/19. I am very dissatisfied with service, appointment failures, and performance of the refrigerator.

I wish I could give a negative rating! We have been working with LG customer service since October (over 2 months now). We are extremely disappointed and feel like we have been led on like they would possibly stand behind their product. I can hardly believe we have went this long without a full size fridge and freezer. If LG customer service would have just told us over two months ago that they would not stand behind a less than 3 year old fridge we could have thrown it in a landfill and went and bought another brand. Not only do we NOT need to spend so much money every couple of years on a major appliance, but we really don’t need to fill up our landfills with these things. LG, if you cannot make a large major appliance last longer than 2 years, PLEASE STOP MAKING THEM! Do it not only for customers like me, but for the WORLD!

Sleek and modern. Quiet. No freezer burn. Easy to wipe down interior. Energy saving. Good size. Goes well with overall style of my kitchen and house never had any service issues. Good price for quality. It met my expectations and exceeded them. It felt like a luxury purchase and I wanted to upgrade from my Maytag side by side model that I had owned for 8 years. But the refrigerator really should have and needs more shelf depth. The drawers are a little smaller than I would like. The fridge is a little expensive. The freezer space smaller than I would like. I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?

Both my son and I bought LG washers. Bearings out on mine and cost to repair was equal to buying new washer. He had the extended warranty. Called the help line. Someone just kept repeating with a foreign accent, Only the drum (stainless will be around forever) and the motor are covered. My model had mold and mildew problems from the beginning. Now we both have nice dryers and will have mismatched washers. Beware! Bearings are not covered and you will have a flood, no washer, mismatched appliances, ruined flooring. Of course our State is not in the class action against LG. Guess where we would like to stick the stainless drum!

UE codes frequently have to balance the load again and again. The machine just keeps wasting water - when it attempts to balance - all the way to the top and then pumps it down the drain and wastes our limited California water. You should do your job and force them to offer a software upgrade online. The machine have the modem cell phone link and customers could upgrade this dumb wasteful software without some LG moron coming out to tell lies and you what you already know. Force them to open the source code and let someone savvy fix the software - other than LG. They should be fined for the water wasting in a drought. This is huge capacity machine that cannot balance a light load.

I purchased an LG refrigerator (Model LFX31925ST) on Nov. 25, 2011. On Feb. 10, 2012 (less than 3 months later), the refrigerator stopped working. I did this, and after a lot of stonewalling, I was told I was out of luck that I would have to wait on parts and that there was no ETA. We bought our LG fridge from Best Buy about 4 years ago. Earlier this week our compressor stopped working. We lost the entire freezer and fridge of food. After calling the company and spending more than one hour on the phone they scheduled an appointment for me within 2 days and told me not to worry. It was under warranty. I waited home all day on the scheduled appointment from 12-5 and no one came. When I called the company supposedly coming, they told me they had no record of an appointment at my home. Upon calling LG back they said sorry this appointment was never actually confirmed but since everyone is closed, you call some service providers and we will pay them if they can come. No one will come, they all laugh at me and tell me that LG will never pay them and that it will take upwards of 8 weeks to even get an appointment with them. Ive now called LG back two more times, they made an appointment, confirmed an appointment and subsequently when calling that service company, they report they never received that confirmation so again they did not show up. This will be my 5th phone call upwards of 60 minutes on each and all they can offer me is $250 for loss of food. They are not willing to offer anything else to help out with possibly going 8 weeks without a fridge. To say this is disappointing is a huge understatement. I will never buy another LG appliance.

I purchased an LG washing machine 3 years ago. I have had customer service on the phone on a regular basis, which FINALLY led to them sending out several service persons, who knew NOTHING about the problem. The washer does not have enough water in the tub to even cover the clothes to be washed; I was told to use the “water plus” button to add extra water to the tub...it does nothing. Every load of my clothing being washed comes out with whitish/grey marks all over them, especially pants, workout clothes. And any fleece item washed is ruined by “scum” marks. I have complained continually, only to be told to run the “tub clean” every other week (which, by the way, is an empty tub that just washes the tub, but doesn’t really...). An incredible waste of water - especially for a washer that is supposed to conserve water. Next we were told to run the empty tub on “oxi sanitize” and add a jug of vinegar to the tub. That worked for about 3 loads. I would NEVER recommend this machine to anyone. My sister-in-law owned an LG for 29 days & turned it back in. Bring back the old tubs!! We are NOT saving any water with this machine!!!

We purchased a LG TROMM Washer in Jan. 2007 (WM2487h*M) and we should have known better as we had to trade it out within the first few days of purchase because the water was filling up in the drum after the rinse cycle and the symbol FE was displayed. Luckily, Best Buy exchanged it for a new one without hesitation and it was almost as if they had already been down this path before with several customers. Fast forward less than five years later and the same thing has happened. We just spent $640 on repairs including a new water pump, a new water valve and a new memory board for this hunk of junk of a washer. In hindsight we should have just bought a new machine as the warranties had all expired. The guarantee for the new memory board is for two years supposedly, but we have yet to see paperwork from the registered LG repairman. Although he did state that the new memory board was registered with LG. I guess well just need to keep pressing them on this until we see something in writing.

The LG refrigerator drawer broke, while the delivery man was still here. It was replaced, but after that, the whole thing started falling apart. The French door shelving falls out frequently, and things hit the kitchen floor. Half of the shelves have broken off, and are not fixable. The meat and both the vegetable drawers have had the clear plastic front break out, and the rollers break off. The meat drawer casing is cracked on the top. The icemaker overflows, and ice flies across the kitchen floor. The light overheats, and the light bulb cover warped from heat, then fell off. The magnetic door seals are floppy and poorly designed, so the fridge has to be closed a special way, to keep it from beeping, and letting me know the doors are improperly closed. All of this happened in the first year. After hours and hours, on the phone with LG, for a couple of weeks, someone finally approved a temporary extension of warranty, and we had the drawer rollers, magnetic door seals, and ice maker fixed. They all broke again within a few weeks.

I was told that the clothes are dry according to foreign standards, but In the US we want the clothes dry. At 61 years old I thought I heard it all but to my surprise that was the silliest ever. If I did not want to dry clothes then I would not have bought a dryer. The clothes take about 90 minutes to dry, not very energy efficient. Also, the machines are not made for 50 tall people. I use a step stool to start and empty the dryer. This machine was a very costly mistake. I asked Lowes to pro-rate the machines because I only had them since February but they said no. They have a 30-day return policy. I wish I never purchased these machines. I will only buy American if possible.

Bought an LG suite when remodeling our home. Our refrigerator and freezer quit working after 2 year. A call to LG service for repair was met with parts are covered but not labor charges. We were forced to spend $400.00 to get service to schedule repairs. Service tech came and replaced compressor. We are out the $400.00 service call as well as hundreds of $$ in spoiled food! I see where several posters indicated they were compensated for both and am wondering if LG would make good on our claim or is a class action the route we should take?

Have an LG French Door Refrigerator. After 18 mo. the compressor died. It took LG 6 weeks to figure out that they could not find an LG certified repair technician in our area. They refused to tell us how they would respond, and then gave us a refund, but refused to repair/replace the unit. They do not answer calls/faxes, and do not seem to care about their customers. I spent a total of over 20 hours on calls/emails/faxes. Every call involved 15-35 minutes on hold before getting to a live person. They kept passing me from one department to another. Totally frustrating experience. Would never buy LG again.

Bought the LG LFC24786st from Sears exactly 3 years ago this week. At the 1 1/2 year point the motherboard and fan needed replacing. Really WTF, a year and a half. Oh well, it was under warranty. Yesterday it happens again. Right now the fridge is sitting at 54 degrees, the freezer is warmer because we had to remove everything. Really now, 2 motherboards in three years plus the Sears extended warranty is no longer any good because of the closing even though I still have 2 years left. This is really looking like LG Lemon fridges are not the way to go. I see from above that its not so much a model of the fridge but the make that keeps breaking. Ill tell you something, this is hitting the internet big time. Im frustrated, pissed off, and right now... fridgeless.

First LG purchase was in Nov. 2009 with a convection oven/stove and dishwasher. Bought them at hhgregg and purchased the extended warranty. Moved out of that home in May 2010 and left the appliances there as I had planned on renting out that home. The end of May (for my new place) I purchased an LG front loader washer and dryer (Home Depot with extended 5 yr warranty) because it seemed like LG was a good brand from all the reviews I had read. Got renters in the next month for my old house and they were in there about a year. We left the house empty with someone checking on it every couple days for a year and a half. We moved back in Dec. 2012. We moved out again in March of 2014 to a larger home but took the stove with us. The dishwasher started having issues in July of 2014 for our new tenants. Our extended warranty covered it and the repairs ended up costing more than it was to buy a new one so it was completely replaced by the warranty. All in all, the dishwasher was used for about 3 of those 5 years before needing replacement. In December 2014 my dryer wont power on at all and I have to call Home Depot for the repair. They tell me its the motherboard and it gets replaced. This ends up being about a $200+ repair covered by the warranty. That same month, my LG oven wont heat up. The display says its 350 but I can easily touch the racks, and food is not cooking. My stove is no longer under warranty so the expense is on me. I call a repair guy out who tells me its one of the heating elements. $125 later everything seemed fine until 8 months later when now my washing machine wont drain and my stove has another issue. Neither are under warranty. The washing machine needs a new pump at about $200. My stoves motherboard gets replaced at about $200. Fast forward to April 2016. Stove not heating up again. Had appliance guy out who tried telling me we dont have enough electricity coming into our house after charging me $200 for some electrical part he said was bad and it didnt solve the problem. I called electric company who checked everything and house had plenty of juice. Got part of my money back from the appliance guy since he misdiagnosed the stove and cost me more money. Husband replaced the second heating element (theres two in this particular model) and everything seemed fine until August of this year. Washing machine is giving pump failure message again, dryers display is not working right (cant see how many minutes left -- digital display unreadable), and the stove went out again. Stove was approx 5 years old before we started replacing part after part. Washer and dryer were 5 years old before we started having issues. I have an LG fridge and dishwasher (purchased Dec. 2014), but I think these will be my last appliance purchases from LG. 3 appliances getting replaced is ridiculous in one month. Quality is just not important anymore to these companies. I dont expect them to last forever, but 7-8 years would have been nice. Will not purchase another LG appliance.

I have the same problem with the moldy smell. I had a service guy in today and I am going to follow his advise and see what happens. The washer is already smelling better! His advise; First, he adjusted the front feet so the machine sloped slightly back so the front gasket drains fully, then he showed me how to drain the washer by using the dials (no one explained this to me!). Turn on machine, dont touch the main dial, go to spin speed button and press it. Display should read 13 minutes, then start washer. This will completely drain any standing water! Good luck **. He also recommended to use half a cup dish washing detergent in the drum, wash on full hot cycle. Do this at your own discretion, I am trying this tonight!

Just before my top loading “smart drum” washer was off warranty it kept saying UE (uneven) and refused to spin...even after setting it on spin only. It would constantly set more time and refill with water and not fully spin. We are on a well and water use was a concern! I called LG and they contacted the authorized serviceman who came out a couple of days later. He replaced the motherboard and said all was good. That lasted less than 2 weeks before it was doing the same thing again. Called the repairman myself this time and he spoke to LG. Turns out my washer was a lemon and I actually got a new one on warranty. That was great UNTIL the new one started doing it too at about the same age as the original one started it. The new washer didn’t come with any warranty either so I’m stuck with it.LG top loading washers are a total piece of crap and it frustrates me to no end, wastes our well water and power, and I spend all day sometimes just trying to get 1 load of wash done! Too many times have I had to put dripping clothes into the dryer because I can’t get the washer to spin them out! If I had the money I would buy a new washer...but not an LG!

After many years of being professionals in the working world, we have hit on the WORST product and service from an appliance manufacturer. Our washer was just over 12 months old when we began to experience relentless problems such as continuous UE signals, subsequential refilling of the washer tub, prolonged run times up to 4 hours, and soaking wet clothes even after the spin cycle was completed. We called LG Customer Service and were told in so many words---too bad but it is your problem. We have been Honda car owners for 30 years and cannot say enough good about their customer service and working WITH us when any problems occurred. As a result, we have told many others to buy Honda and they will NEVER be disappointed. We were just told by a repairman that the control panel is bad and needs to be replaced to the tune of $234.00. This on a washer that is now about 15 months old. Quality control must not be existent at LG. In this case, we WILL tell all those we know NEVER to buy a LG product of any sort.

We have had this dishwasher for about 1.5 years and it was never good. Here are some of the most frustrating things that have occurred with this piece of junk.1) The bottom rack never stayed on the track from day 1. That means no one in my family of 6 can put dishes in the bottom unless you lift the bottom rack and carry it out of the dishwasher fully. Its obscene. Because the bottom never ever stayed on the track, our 4 kids have bent the outer metal frame, and now it is a pile of junk.2) The racks around the entire dishwasher never stay up or in place, we are constantly trying to manipulate these glass racks to stay in place, but they dont.3) The silverware holder is a pile of garbage, never stays put, constantly trying to get it to stick in place.4) If you fill the bottom, none of the top dishes get cleaned.5) Every other wash, we get an error message of some sort that leaves the dishwasher unusable for a couple days. With a family of 6, and kids we are trying to teach how to take care of dishes, this dishwasher is a joke. Had I known that we would pay $700+ for a pile of junk, I would have opted for a much cheaper dishwasher, as I have lived in places in my younger years with very cheap dishwashers and have not had half the issue we have had with this. I would be ashamed to market and sell this dishwasher. After not even 2 years, we are now in the market to buy another new dishwasher because this one is basically unusable. If you are considering this dishwasher, please think twice, find a different one for your home. I thought paying $700 for one would mean it should be pretty decent, it is not at all a good dishwasher. If I could rate it below a 1 star, I would.

We bought our LG Refrigerator on May 2018 from Jetson in Stuart, FL and it stop cooling on December 30th 2021. An LG technician came in and told me he had bad news for me, he could not work in the unit due to Sulfur Contamination and his company advised him not to fix the unit. When I asked him, what could cause such contamination, he said it is because the Chinese Drywalls. Our refrigerator Model #LSXS26366D is in the list of defective linear compressors in the LG Class Action Lawsuit. Our previous refrigerator was plugged in the same area for 13 years and never had a problem. We moved the old refrigerator to the garage, and it is still working under heat and humidity in a Florida garage. Our Air condition company certified that all our lines are clean with no contamination. All the appliances in our house are working properly, including our LG Washer and Dryer.Today I called a specialized company in the Chinese drywall detection and they never heard of a refrigerator failing due to Chinese drywalls. This is not possible. Also, they mentioned that a Technician cant diagnose a contamination without testing the particles. I work in a power plant company in Florida and all the Engineers stated that the compressor is in a sealed environment with no co-relation to the outside elements. I have called the LG Customer Service multiple times requesting a written service call invoice as the Technician did not leave a written diagnose. LG refused to produce the document and the customer service rep hanged up on me.The second customer service told me to call a third-party repair company a pay out of my pocket. Today another rep offered 20% rebate on a new purchase. Again, the refrigerator is three years old and under warranty for five years under a Class Action Settlement for this Unit. There is no proof and no explanation on writing of the cause of failure. Yesterday we called again, and the customer service rep said that our refrigerator is irreparable. She transferred us to a Supervisor by the name Arthur, we request a diagnose on writing and he said not to be allowed to send emails and he will send a request a copy of the service call. Please help us to receive repair for our fridge under warranty. Thank you.

I have an LG front load dryer (model DLEX3857W). The original dryer lint filter warped, I guess from the heat of the dryer? It would not sit flat, which caused clothes to get caught on the filter, mostly clothes with thin straps, such as camisoles, etc. However, on one cycle, a sleeveless nightgown was caught, which cracked the corner of the filter, as well as a piece of the filter guide. I purchased a new LG lint filter and replaced the broken one, but it never would sit flat where the corner of the guide was rough. Ive had 5 camisoles, 3 nightgowns, and now a fitted sheet destroyed due to being torn when becoming caught and twisting around the raised part of the filter. The material gets wound so tightly that the piece caught just tears off.I made a complaint on the LG website blog, but my entry was declined because I failed to meet posting requirements - I cant figure out what didnt meet, except that the question I asked was based on the fact that I had read several blogs where Kenmores version of the same dryer has had a recall of the due to the same problem, and I asked if there was an LG plan to recall. I have also emailed LG directly, with no response as of yet. There are MULTIPLE complaints online on different blogs, which is where I found a link recommending replacement of all 3 parts - the lint filter, filter guide, and lint filter cover. I found all the parts on Amazon, with more complaints of the same issue. Why should I have to spend $60 for parts that appear to have been a defect from the beginning.

He ordered a part, replaced it, and still the same, now they canceled todays appt, for no reason, and apparently tomorrow another tech will come to check again, then they will keep changing parts and guessing what it is. I told Customer Service that I have been like these for 2 wks already, with nowhere to cook, and I needed these to be fix ASAP. I told them to please change my new range for another one. Mine has become refurbish since they keep replacing parts, its not original no more. But LG continues to allegate, that they cannot do anything but just wait for the tech to see what it is. They say they cannot change my equipment for a new one, it can ONLY be repaired. I hope any issues like this will be covered under the Manufacturers Warranty, but I can see this is not true. It had a leaking Tromm front loader. This ruined my 180 sq. ft. of ash hardwood flooring costing approximately $2000.00. After the floor was replaced and a pan placed under the machine, I have noticed that it fills up about once a week. This leak is coming from the dispenser tray! I noticed water and soap residue on the inside of the front panel that had also caused the door hinge to start rusting. After closer inspection of the dispenser during operation, I can see water hitting the angled section of the tray and running over the side. LG said a repair tech would have to fix this, but without a newly designed part, it will just do the same thing again. This is not caused by too much soap as some might suggest because it does this with or without adding soap! The only solution I see is to buy another brand after spending over $1000.00 a year for a poorly designed product.

I will never buy an LG washer or dryer again. The LG washer is rusting out on top after only two years and very careful use. I contacted customer service on numerous occasions and they wanted $200 to simply come out and look it over. They were very unhelpful and rude when I asked for someone to fix it for less since it was so new and obviously had a flaw in the design of the washer. They refused to stand by their product and refused to do anything about the rust. This washer will be lucky to last three years. It was an expensive top loading washer with no agitator. It was a waste of money. I thought the LG was well priced until I realized the quality is so poor and the customer service so awful. LG makes their appliances look good on the outside but on the inside they are very poor quality. I was unhappy with the product and asked LG if I could get a new refrigerator or a refund because I did not feel comfortable accepting LG to repair a product I only had for 17 days. After going back and forth and speaking to one supervisor Cecilia I was told that I needed to submit of purchase for the refrigerator to an email they provided and that someone from the refund department would contact me within 5 days.I never received a call so I called them in which a customer service representative told me my claim was denied and he couldn’t give me a reason why. I called back on Monday November 30th. Asked to speak with a supervisor. She refused to give me her name. She transferred me to the refund dept. They then informed me that they never denied my claim because the customer service dept never submitted my claim. They put in their notes that I needed to accept the repair. The refrigerator had a whole lot of space inside of it. I mean I could always fit two or three gallon milk jugs in there. It also was really quiet so you could never hear it like some of the older less efficient refrigerators out there. But to improve the refrigerator I would add water filters and a water dispenser. I would also add more freezer space because people freeze a lot of things like meats. Also, I would give it Bluetooth capability with a tv screen next to the water dispenser. Otherwise LG has indeed met my expectations. When they show off they really know how to make appliances look good. I think what they do and what they are good at is keeping things simple. Sometimes, these other brands have too much going on that it just doesnt do it for most people.

Bought the LG Top Load Washer and Dryer in February and the worst mistake Ive ever made. I hate the washer, it is not efficient, and does not get my clothes clean. Never fails I get the UE error and always having to readjust my laundry only to find I have to do it again. If I dont pre-spot all stains they will not come out. I spend more time restarting and waiting for laundry to finish than anything else. I will never buy a LG product again. I hate this machine so much I wish I didnt have to give it a star. BTW spent the last 3 hrs trying to wash one set of queen size sheets.

Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer
Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer set, the metal around the bleach dispenser in the washer began to rust. We lifted the top of the washer and the entire bottom was rusted. It looks as if the underside of the washer top was not sealed properly from water damage. We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is cosmetic. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. There is no reality in which rust running into the washer should be considered cosmetic.

I have a now ten-year old LMX25964 ST Refrigerator made by LG. It is a French door version with two pullout freezers underneath. It has worked flawlessly with one exception. The hinge wore out on the right side. Theres just a piece of Delrin plastic that rides on the hinge. I started seeing powder from the metal grinding for like two years before I realized what was going on. Maybe I put too much weight on that door. I now store the milk on the solid shelf off the door. It cost me about an hour looking at YouTube to figure out how to fix it and around $20 in parts. The fix process went surprisingly well. I had predicted a disaster. Door came off easily as did the old hinge. I draped a towel in front while the power was off to retain the cool. In the old days we used to put the old fridge out in the garage after the remodel where it cooled beer for 20 more years. Those days are gone. I have a LG washer dryer combo that was very high end at the time of purchase. They have performed perfectly for ten years now. My LG dishwasher went bad two months after the warranty ran out. I took it apart, took one look and put it back together. Whatever I did it must have reset the circuit board or something. Works fine now.

Do not waste your time trying to get LG to help you. They have a lint filter that will not fit unless they redesigned your dryer. They will delay, they will put you through hell and still get you nowhere even if they sent you a filter for the dryer it still will not fit. They know its a problem. They are not really helping people because it would cost them way too much to redesign each dryer thats out there and there is no class action suit then Im aware of currently. If this website ConsumerAffairs.com is willing to step in and really help people they should see who sent this and passed my contact information which you have my permission to do so to those class action attorneys that will get something done about this. I have spent too much time getting nowhere with LG support. They dont even have the decency to follow up and actually help in a real way. Again anyone who has any connection with LG that thinks theyre going to make headway on this they could not afford the amount of expense to either recall or redesign those dryers that are out there that are ruining clothes everyday.

Bought this Washer sometime in 2011 and since about 2 months after we bought it, it has a mold build up around the front gasket! Called LG and they said you have to clean the front gasket and keep it clear every few days or after a few loads as it blocks the drain. We started cleaning the front gasket and kept using the clean drum feature with bleach and still kept building up MOLD. Now I see that other people are having the same problem as me. Thanks LG. Will NEVER buy a LG product again.

My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator
My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator. I’ve had LG products in previous homes as well and although I’ve had to fix them from time to time they have been generally good products. So when it came time to purchase a dishwasher and a range oven I wanted to have a matching set so I went with the LG dishwasher and range oven.My refrigerator is 6 years old now and was not cooling down properly. I called your customer service line to see what could be done and they gave me the name and number of a local technician. I called and set up an appointment with Duncan Home Services. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor. Although it was an inconvenience, I was pleased to remember there was a 10 year warranty on the linear compressors that were in my model of refrigerator (LFX28968ST/01). I called customer service on April 22nd of 2019 to see about getting the compressor replaced. 44 days later and 7 hours, 21 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone with customer support… I still do not have the correct replacement for my faulty compressor.I was given a case number of **. I will detail my dissatisfaction with your call support team later but here is a summation of the issue. In response to my request for a warranty replacement of the compressor, the Tech was sent a compressor with the model number of TCA35533604. This part was identified as a “backup replacement”. The Tech had installed one of these in another refrigerator they worked on just like mine and they knew it didn’t work. Therefore they would not install it and charge me the labor. They determined the correct part was TCA35893202. When they called to order that part they were told it is on backorder until early July.I don’t know if you’ve ever gone without a refrigerator for 2 months but when one is used to it being there, it is ridiculously inconvenient. The summation of what I determined from your customer support team was that I had 3 options that are policies that they say are set by you. 1: Wait another month for the part to come in. 2: I was offered 20% off a new LG refrigerator. 3: If I could produce the receipt then I could be given a new refrigerator. My problems with the above proposals are as follows: 1: I’ve already waited a month and cannot wait another month for a part that may or may not come in. I will be forced to purchase a new refrigerator from one of your competitors. 2: An equivalent replacement refrigerator will be another $2000 minimum. 20% of that is $400. I don’t have $1600 available to buy from a company that is doing a horrible job honoring their Warranty. As I said, I’d prefer to buy from someone else. 3: I know that the refrigerator was purchased at Lowes, I know that it was on or near Black Friday of 2013 but I do not have the original receipt from 6 years ago.I proposed 2 solutions to the problem, but the customer service supervisor said that she didn’t have authority to do either of the 2 options and only you did. I proposed the following: 1: Since the Tech determined that the compressor that LG sent was incorrect they would not Warranty their work. Since I have to pay labor for the installation as that is past the warranty period of 5 years, that is a problem. LG could warranty the work of their tech so I am not on the hook for when the part doesn’t work.2: The correct part (TCA35893202) is available through local appliance parts outlets and retails for around $279. LG could provide a voucher to the tech to purchase the part locally. This would be the quickest and most cost effective solution for all parties in my opinion. So if you could authorize my Option 2 promptly that would be fantastic. I am merely asking for a timely and correct replacement for a warrantied part. Now I spoke with at least 6 different supervisors. They are the 2nd tier of customer support. I have no issue with the first tier of support. They were all professional and as helpful as they could be and got me to the 2nd tier fairly quickly on seven of my ten calls. The 2nd tier of individuals however were the opposite. All I was given were first names so that is all I can provide. They were; Daniel, Brea, Jessie, Jem, Jessica, and Tyesha.Daniel: Daniel informed me that he would send an email to the parts guy Cyrus about the availability of TCA35893202 and he would call me back. That was early May and I never heard from him. Brea: She was generally pleasant but couldn’t help me any. She told me the tech would have to call the parts department to see if the correct compressor was available. (The tech did call and was told that the correct compressor was on backorder.) Jessie: Jessie appeared to be helpful and told me that he/she was going to send an email to Cyrus as well to see if the part was truly back-ordered. If it was, he/she could issue a replacement refrigerator (Which surprised me and I did not ask for.) He/she said I would get a phone call later… I did not, again. Jem: I’m not sure if I have the name right but she basically hung up on me and sent me back to the 1st tier people. They put me back through to the supervisors and I got Jessica. Jessica: I wasn’t particularly pleasant with Jessica as I was beyond frustration at this point. She responded by being extremely unhelpful and refused to walk through the notes of the previous 7 or 8 calls I had made. I told her what Jessie had said earlier about the replacement but she told me there was no Jessie in her office. She ended up telling me that TCA35893202 was NOT back-ordered and it was available but the tech had to order it. (The tech did call again to order it and was told that the part was still back-ordered.) I feel that I was blatantly lied to.Jessie: Imagine my surprise when I in fact got Jessie again despite Jessica telling me there was no Jessie. This time Jessie offered me the 20% off a replacement refrigerator. I told her that was not satisfactory, nor was the waiting until July for the part and that I could not produce a 6 year old receipt. She put me on hold… for a really long time until… Tyesha picked up the line and I got to re-explain everything to her. Tyesha: She just continually reiterated my 3 unsatisfactory options and told me there was nothing she could do and my only recourse was to write you a letter. So here I am. Should this situation not be remedied by my Option 2 listed above or a better idea you come up with yourself I will never be purchasing any LG product again. I will also never recommend an LG product to any family or friends. Although they are not particularly effective against your bottom line, these are my only options for recourse and I will pursue them endlessly. Thank you. Mark **

We paid a fortune for this washer. It is an LG Wave Force True Balance top load. As another consumer stated, you cannot wash a small or a very large load without the UE code showing on the display. The machine constantly tries to balance itself. To me, 1 or 2 things is a small load. Ive washed 10-12 articles of clothing and I still get a UE. I go in readjust the load, press start. 10 minutes later I get UE again. It takes me 2 hours to wash a load of clothes. The repairman came out twice. We had a discussion over the small load issue. So now my unfortunate solution has been to change to a slower spin speed (which often does not work either) or to wash pants, shirts, towels and under garments all together so I can come up with a load size that the machine will take. Very poor design. I will never buy an LG washer again. It was a waste of money.

I’m very disappointed in my refrigerator...especially at the price we paid for this!!! We bought the one with 2 ice makers, and we still run out of ice. Last year the freezer stopped cooling - only after 10 months of having it - which made the top stop cooking. We lost a ton of meat, ice cream, dairy, etc! They replaced several things, only for it to happen again 1 year later. Stop focusing on every efficient and focus on making a long lasting product!!!

Purchased this dishwasher 4 years ago. Last week we started getting the code PF which means power failure. From the LG comments posted, they would lead you to believe the power supply was interrupted and the PF is only a code and not a failure/fault code. Turns out it was a fault. We turned it on last night and the control panel immediately burned out. Saw some sparks/flashes and a puff of smoke and electrical smell. Dishwasher was then disconnected from the power source. If you have the PF code you should note this is very probably the control panel shorting out. Unfortunately, dishwasher failed just outside of our extended warranty period. We will definitely switch brands. Dishwashers should last longer than four years!!! Definitely dissatisfied with the LG dishwasher.

Updated on 05/18/2020: In a previous post, I reported my washer disaster. A week ago, I heard from LG (Louis) indicating they would provide a new washer in 5-7 days and was asked for proof of purchase etc. I provided that info. Since that time, no contact from LG and they never provided me with contact information. So I sit waiting for them to contact me or reply once again through Consumer Affairs. LG, if you are reading this, please contact me.Original review: After 7 years of mostly uneventful washing experience, my machine suddenly blew apart. My machine was running through a spin cycle and suddenly, there were loud crashing and banging noises, the machine flew across the floor approximately 2 1/2 - 3 feet and the door blew open. The tub appears to have come loose, smashed into the front and sides of the machine. The front of the machine has large protruding dents, the side handles were blown out and the side dented, and small parts flew out. The door wont even close because of the large protruding dents. Thank goodness that we were not in the laundry room as we would have sustained injuries for sure. I am aghast at the force and danger that this machine caused.

Less than 4 year old refrigerator died on 5/24. Took FOREVER to get techs to take the situation seriously and get repair tech scheduled. After 2 failed attempts, an independent non-LG tech finally diagnosed compressor failure. LG phone techs may be trained to downplay the situation, because the repair tech said he diagnoses 5 and replaces at least 3 of these a day. They cannot keep up with the work and LG wont hire more repairmen. Took another 5 days for parts to arrive and then schedule a repair day. Meanwhile I am living with NO FRIDGE and now LG says they will NOT reimburse me for the mini fridge we had to buy (not to mention all the bagged ice Ive had to purchase too!) The best we can do is send you a check for $100 for food reimbursement. I spent $1500 on a refrigerator from you and thats the best you can do???Compressor was finally replaced today and repairman said, I dont trust the new compressor either, so dont put any food in it for at least 48 hours till youre sure its operating correctly. Yikes. This has been such a disillusioning experience, I have praised LG products to anyone asking for recommendations, but I will not anymore due to the TERRIBLE customer service I received!! Refrigerators, and appliances in general, are designed these days to break and NOT be repaired. If thats the case, then the price should reflect a disposable product, not the thousands they do cost. LG is not standing behind their product, but rather hiding behind untrained techs who speak so politely, yet do not disseminate truthful information to frustrated customers looking for help from the company they trusted with their hard-earned money. You have lost a long-time loyal customer with many LG products in our home, shame on you...

This is meant to be in reply to Stella, who HO-DEPOT seems to have turned its back on. I urge you to call your states consumer affairs office, your local TV News Consumer Guy, and most especially, YOUR BANK/CREDIT CARD COMPANY!! Your CC should go to bat for you, and will likely do a charge-back if you think the Lemon Law applies to you, which I agree it does. Theres a thing, a consumer law created for just this kind of situation, that you have the right to expect a product will perform as expected. Yours hasnt, and the store clearly is making sport out of giving you the runaround. I dont care how long it has been, you are owed satisfaction for getting a non-working fridge. Please call your Credit Card Company. Free hint: If your end of the conversation has the word Fraud in it (This feels a lot like Fraud; they took my money and I got nothing in return). Youre not ACCUSING anyone of Fraud, just saying how it makes you feel, get it? They seem real happy if that word in particular enters the conversation. It has happened to me, and it was clear that it needed to be spoken by the person complaining. The truth is, imho, you were defrauded. You deserve a full refund, so you can take your money elsewhere. And dont forget if you purchased any extended warranty, you should get that refunded, too. Just my 2. I am not a lawyer, a consumer advocate or anything. Dont work for the competition, Just want you to get your due. Please dont give up before you get a full refund. (It wouldnt hurt my feelings if you got two or three of your biggest best male friends to accompany you to the store to discuss this with the store manager).

5 years ago, I bought an LG Washer and Dryer set for $1700 at Lowes. After a year and a half, I started getting the uneven load message occasionally. At this point, it does it on every single load, even if its empty. My water bill is outrageous because it just keeps refilling with water. Ive resorted to hand ringing each item washed in order to put the clothes in the dryer. LG will do nothing about it because its been 5 years since I bought it even though I started calling about the problem after 2 years. I refuse to pay $300 for them to come out to check the problem, then additional cost to fix it, since its a well known issue with their washers. It is a manufacturer design issue and cant be fixed. The only reason they are still in business is probably because of maintenance costs to continue to repair their horrible products. Model #WT4870C.

Do yourself a favor. Look at other brand before buying an LG refrigerator. On mine the compressor went in less than a year and getting it fixed under warranty was a horrible experience. Worse customer service I ever experienced with a company. I was without a fridge for over a month. Not fun with two small children in the house. A little over a year later the compressor went again. Now it wasnt covered under warranty. Repair guy said do yourself a favor and buy new one of another brand rather than fixing this one. It will be cheaper in the long run. He said he replaces LG compressors all the time. New compressor was going to be $1200 so I went and got a new fridge for $2600. So I basically spent almost $3K on a fridge that lasted 2 years. Have a Frigidaire now and couldnt be happier.

We purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. From the start it had a manufacturing defect on the water hose that supplies water for drinking. It would drip down the front of the fridge after you got water out of it. They came out and replaced the whole door, but would not replace the stainless steel lever that had gotten stained from their defect. Then it started to give us ice with what looked like dandruff, I have not been the 1st person to complain about this. All it needs is a new ice tray but have to buy the whole assembly. The door since day one has had moisture collecting on it, bad door seals I am suspecting. You close the left door and the right one pops open. This thing is a piece of garbage, and I got the same dont care attitude with their customer service as others have noted on here. We also have an above stove microwave, 2 went out right out of warranty, not even a month past. LG means life is good for them, cause by time you find out you bought a piece of crap it is too late. I also wish I could post a picture of what the ice tray looks like, it grew some yellow hard something or other on it. Very gross to say the least. It seems to me all they care about is making a sale, but not taking care of the customer after purchase. I will never ever ever ever buy LG again.

Sadly, we are having similar issues with our relatively new LG French Door top of the line refrigerator. About 6 months ago, the ice maker stopped working. I had to have it replaced -- thought it was covered by Geek Squad protection, but thats another story. NOW it just quit working. No signs or symptoms. Just yesterday it was fine, today everything is thawed. I called LG, tried to trouble shoot over the phone with the smart phone diagnostics which didnt register any information apparently, so I had to call a certified technician. Of course, the ONE that is within an hour of my home, cant even come to look at it for three days and probably wont have the part. The customer service lady did tell me that the compressor would be covered under the ten year warranty but the snarky receptionist for the technician told me only if I have the owners manual and the receipt. Really?? It is clearly a new fridge - ridiculous! Life is NOT good when you have six kids and no refrigerator for a week!

Please do not buy the LG 400+ ltr double door refrigerator even if it is given free. In a bargain hunting, I purchased a double door digital control LG 420 ltr refrigerator and it was buying a huge pain and trouble for me and my family. With almost Rs. 51,000/- paid through my nose the refrigerator is a horrible experience from the month I purchased. The computer chip got burnt out in 13th month and replaced at my cost of Rs. 4300/-, the compressor had to be replaced in 14th month. Compressor again replaced in 17th month. Even after 2 repairs at my cost the compressor makes heavy noise and the customer support has not been able to set it right even after making payments for service. The quality of the refrigerator is completely below par and in an attempt to cut cost the LG has severely compromised on quality. The customer support is horribly bad and an opaque management. You dare it and make any attempt and you do not get a caring attention. Just rhetoric and evading answers. I have lost thousands of rupees worth goods due to the machine abruptly stopping in the middle of the hot summer. I now seriously repent having purchased this refrigerator to save some Rs. 2000/- against its competitor and today hove lost more than Rs.10,000/- in repair and maintenance in just less than 2 years. Add to this the constant tension of the machine going off when we are out on a holiday, it have never been peace of mind ever since we purchased this refrigerator. They did send out 4 repair men from 2 different companies who replaced various parts, but the issue persists. After the last repair man came out and was unable to do anything, I called LG again hoping theyd replace the unit. They said the repair man determined my dryer was working to specifications and they couldnt do anything further for me. The guy was literally there for 5 minutes! Not sure how he could determine anything - if he stayed through the cycle, hed see my clothes were coming out soaking wet even though I select very dry every time.I wrote to LG Executive Service through their Facebook page and they would also do nothing for me. I called HH Gregg several times and theyve told me they filed a report with their vendor relations but thus far no one has called me back. Im so angry that I spent $900 on a dryer that does not work properly and am even angrier that an LG rep at one point told me to just use a different cycle! Will never buy LG again.

LRE 3203 ST stainless steel electric range smooth top convection - This electric range is a Junk. Dont ever buy any LG appliances, same issue with the LG refrigerator and dishwasher. In 2012 just before Thanksgiving I purchased new appliances because I wanted all stainless steel thinking that these high-end all computerized LG appliances will serve me and my family at least for 5 years. Unfortunately I went with LG!! Big mistake!!!!! The worst appliances you could ever buy!!!The stove basically started having issues after 2 years. The burners stopped working, replaced the control panel, didnt work!!! We replaced the cooking element, didnt work. Called the customer service, they told me that this stove is too old and basically I have to pay for a technician to come out who is going to tell me what is wrong with the stove and pay for everything! Junk, junk, junk!!! Thank you LG, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. My 3rd cooking element stopped heating Tuesday this week. I have to buy a new stove now. LG customer service is not helpful, dont even bother to call!
