My LG French Door refrigerator has broken down for the second time in the four years since purchase. The refrigerator was purchased in 2008. In 2010, the control panel failed. The cost to replace it was $400.00. Recently, the fridge developed a Freon leak. I contacted LG for a qualified repair person. The repair man told me that the fridge was indeed leaking Freon and it would cost $187.00 to determine where the leak was. He went on to say that if the leak was located in the bottom of the fridge, the repair cost would be between $300.00 to $500.00. If the leak was in the top part of the fridge, it would be unrepairable.LG, a Freon leak in a 4 year old fridge should not happen. Your company should replace this appliance. Im sure that you make quality products but my refrigerator is not one of them. Surely, you do not expect your customers to pay repair cost that total the purchase price for an appliance that is only 4 years old.

We have purchased an LG refrigerator that is less than a year old. We reported an issue that when you shut one door the other door pops open. While fridge still technically worked, this isnt supposed to happen (especially with amount we paid); it also affects the ice and temperature and ruined food. We have had two other brands of fridges (Frigidaire and GE) for over 20+ years and this one we can only speak of in terms of months. It is not energy efficiency and does not work properly. We reported the issue to LG and they sent their own technician. (This is after we tried the online tips to lean fridge as far back as possible, etc.) The technician came and did not even touch fridge. When we told him issue he said it was a design flaw and to contact a specific number. We called and they said they would get back to us within 24 hours - spoiler alert and first warning sign, they did not.A few days later I called customer service. The person was helpful and gave me a supervisor number to contact the following day. I did and they set up another appointment which I was told would be the last because they would make sure their own technician fixed it. The technician no-showed. I was persistent and called LG multiple times. In total the technician no showed three times. I used four vacation days and my fridge does not work properly. My customer service was mixed - in fact, one person emailed and said This can happen with top mounts because of the way the duct work is set up. followed by The customer just needs to push on both doors to make sure they are closed all the way before walking away. To me, this wasnt an acceptable response after multiple contacts and only a few mere months of ownership. Half of my customer service responses were terrible in tone and service. I was constantly pushed off and told to just schedule another appointment. I contacted customer service over 12 times, not including the four appointments, three of which LG no-showed after a 5 hour waiting block for appointment time. There were also several times - at least 3 (not including appointments) in which LG said they would follow up with me and never did. We can only talk about our LG product in terms of months. Our other fridges were a Frigidaire and GE unit which lasted 20 years and 22 years respectively. This LG fridge has only lasted a few months. In fact, its basically only worth the $50 my electric company will give me under their program to encourage replacement of energy inefficient units. I would not recommend this product or the customer service. I have copies of my contact, emails, and chat responses and summaries of my phone calls as I plan on following up. What good is a fridge door that makes another one open when you shut it? Apparently this is a common issue that LG has yet to address or fix but just keeps pushing down the line. I hope we can prevent other people from making the same mistake. If I can edit the post after submitting, I will share some of the poor customer service responses and a video of the issue, but I wanted to submit this as soon as possible.

I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

Just under two years, both refrigerator & freezer stopped cooling. Thankfully we bought the extended warranty. It will be around 2 weeks before this fridge will be running again. Techs need to come out a diagnosis issue before bringing parts. Waiting a week for someone to even come look at this is crazy. Reading on the internet this is a very common issue with LG fridges. Compressors failing after 2 years. I really regret buying this fridge when we renoed the kitchen. My old one is in the garage with zero issues after 12 years.

All of our appliances and most of our TVs are LG products. They will all be replaced with another brand when the time comes. The Linear Compressor in the french door refrigerators are known defects. Good news is that a class action lawsuit was filed against LG. I had mine diagnosed by a local repairman. He says he sees at least (2) of them every week and sometimes several more. Unfortunately, he was not an LG contractor so he could not get the compressor directly. I would have to contact LG and get authorization letter he can use to order the part and I would have to pay him for labor on installation. I didnt want to have to deal with LG (customer service sucks!!). I called their helpline and explained that I needed someone to replace the compressor that was covered under parts warranty. They said I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. The the tech could schedule the repair. A 2500 refrigerator that lasted (5) years and now I am paying to have it fixed. The Kenmore in my garage is over 20 years old and I have never had an issue with it. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy an LG appliance again. Hopefully the lawsuit will yield something.

Brand new LG electric range model LRE30453SB. First time using the oven, smoke billowed from the oven vent after about 5 minutes of preheating. Purchased WT4970 washer November 2014. Since installation washer has deposited material on clothes. After four service calls, three replaced parts, both LG technical support and their authorized service technicians do not have a cause of this problem. The washer is clearly defective and LG refuses to respond to my request for a return to Lowes. Please be aware LG customer service has no authority to make a decision on replacement and have demonstrated a willingness to allow a customer to put-up with a product that doesnt clean clothes for eight months. No end in sight. This washer is the first major appliance that could not be fixed and the first company Ive dealt with who is unwilling to do the right thing and replace the unit. Sadly, this was my first and will be the last purchase of any LG product. I thought they were a honorable company. There are plenty of other choices out there. If customer service is important to you, stay away from LG washers.

I purchased 4 brand new LG appliances for our daughter when they moved into their new home. She immediately noticed a problem with the range. The knobs on this model are along the front of the stove and they can be turned on very easily. I was there one day and walked past and barely brushed against a knob and turned the element on.This has happened several times. Even the family dog has turned it on. So far there have been two fires as a result of this issue. One caused damage to their LG range hood/microwave and upper cabinets. This stove is dangerous and they should not be allowed to sell it. We have contacted LG several times. They had scheduled an in-home visit to see the issue but never showed up. We have still not received a satisfactory response. The latest response was to keep the children out of the kitchen. The children are the only ones that havent accidentally turned it on.

I bought my washer back in 2010 knowing I have 10 yrs warranty on the motor but got fooled by warranty sticker and come to know when my washer stop working I called LG for tech support and it was code error which clearly means motor is bad. Yes LG will honor the warranty but will charge me $302 labor... I am not stupid to pay LG to fix 6 yrs old washer where I can easily replace something for little more money and if I add few more dollars I should be able to buy latest technology washer. I warn all consumer not to be fooled by warranty because its worthless. I am shopping for new washer and never ever will buy or let any of my friends or family member buy LG product. Their corporate supervisor was very unprofessional and rude.

In less than two years it failed after a power outage. We replaced the tiny fuse, deliberately hidden to make repair very difficult, and installed surge protection. A year later, it no longer cools properly, either in fridge or freezer sections, underscored by its inability to make ice. It is very sad since the design itself is good... but the electrical and technical components are not worth it. Buying a new fridge this week, it will NOT be an LG. We used to have an LG microwave oven as well, it was truly odd. The child protective device prohibited basic usage by adults. We also replaced it with another brand.

Let me start by saying I will never buy another LG product and will warn others to stay away from this manufacturer. I purchased a French Door Refrigerator Model LFX25978 and after approximately 3 years the compressor failed. Although the refrigerator was under a one year warranty, the compressor had a ten year warranty which is one of the reasons I decided to purchase it so I had a glimmer of hope that this repair would be covered by LG. NOT EVEN CLOSE. After very frustrating discussions with customer service I was told that I would have to have an authorized service center diagnose the problem at a cost of approximately $175 and upon their verification, they would send a compressor directly to my home free of charge but I would have to pay for the repair. My total cost was around $800. When all was said and done. HERE IS THE REAL KICKER. Fast forward just short of another 3 years to now and the compressor failed for the second time. Obviously there is a problem with this part that the company is unwilling to address. When I called to see if the company would make some type of accommodation, I was treated very unprofessionally and they would not offer the slightest relief. NEVER AGAIN. POOR QUALITY COUPLED WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A VERY BAD COMBINATION.

We bought a LG two drawer refrigerator just over a year ago and now has cracking on the interior back wall. After calling LG and the store where we purchased, we are left with no resolution. Both the store and LG says this does not fall under any of the warranties and there is nothing they can or will do. This is a $3000 paper weight at this time. It appears that there are many issues with LG backing their products. I wish I would have researched more and I would have never purchased a LG. I will never purchase a LG product again and will not give any recommendation to anyone to purchase a LG.

We purchased an LG refrigerator less than a year ago and the compressor has failed and we had to throw out our food. Furthermore, when we called LG with the problem, they sent out a repair person the next day with no way to fix it. This seems to be a common problem with these refrigerators and the techs have no replacement parts in stock. They said 7-10 business days without a refrigerator until the part comes in. We have no idea how long it will take to schedule the repair once the parts comes in. This is SO unacceptable.

We own a lot of LG products so when we were in the market for a new stove, we went straight to the LG section. Well my burner on my range wont turn off. I called LG and they told me my model was on recall and they were aware of the problem. The tech came out and said he had to order the part. Then after spending way too much time on hold (One guy didnt even put me on hold, he put me on mute for 20 minutes!!!), they told me my range was not on the recall list!!! So I would be responsible for the parts and labor!! I then spoke to the supervisor who basically told me there was nothing she could do. So what am I supposed to do with this defected stove... leave the burner on and burn down my house? Not only that the number they gave me for the tech was no longer in service, I had to Google the company myself and provided LG with the correct number... For that alone they should fix my stove! So I will be contacting the better business bureau ...Heres the real kicker, Im hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house!!! LG stands for Lousy Grinches! They stole my Thanksgiving. Maybe Santa will bring me a real stove... by Maytag.

Our family purchased a LG refrigerator four years ago. The refrigerator retailed for two thousand dollars. We started to have problems with the unit after two years with ice build-up on the back. After contacting LG they told us to defrost the fridge. We did that every four months as needed. Now after just four years we woke up to the refrigerator at forty degrees and everything melted in the freezer and now all the food has gone bad. The last refrigerator we owned lasted fourteen years when we gave it to our son still working. Today we spent literally five hours on the phone with service and tech dept. until I wanted to cry in frustration. I never have been through anything like this in the sixty years I have been buying appliances. I cant believe I chose this experience when shopping for a home appliance. But still do not think this is right in any way.

I purchased a $3000 LG fridge in April 2013 (less than 8 months ago). About a month ago, it started making a loud noise. I contacted Home Depot (where fridge was purchased) and they scheduled a tech to come look at it. He fixed it by defrosting a fan and setting the temp on my fridge higher. He warned to not have the fridge set too cold or the fan would keep freezing. Great, warm food. Less than a week later it broke down completely. We are now more than two weeks without a fridge. I have called every single day to try to get a tech out here and LG not only refuses to send someone out but cancels the techs scheduled by Home Depot. They have no time frame as to when they will allow someone to come out or when the fridge will be repaired. My five month old son has digestive issues and is on a special formula that has to be refrigerated. When I called LG to schedule repairs Bonnie from public relations told me I could ask my neighbor to store my son’s formula for me. Because I paid $3000 to use my neighbor’s fridge not to use my own fridge. The level of heartlessness LG and all their customer service reps show is beyond shameful and frankly Im shocked theyre still in business. Life is not good when Ive been storing my son’s formula in an ice chest for two weeks, feeding my other kids fast food every meal because we cant store any cold or frozen food at home, and LG has the attitude of we already have your money so now you can go F yourself. I will never ever buy an LG product again. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. No response yet from LG. Let me pretend to be surprised. At this point the fridge now stinks, is completely useless, and LG has no plans to repair or replace my fridge. Its under warranty and I had purchased the extra protection plan. Its completely unacceptable to allow a family to go without any fridge at all for two weeks and counting. Its unacceptable to know a special needs child could go hungry without his formula and NOT even send a tech out to look at it. Looks like I spent $3000 on a useless piece of crap.

When we purchased our house 3 1/2 years ago we purchased a new LG French Door refrigerator. We had checked the reviews and all were good. The fridge worked great for the first 3 years or so. About 4 months ago the ice maker stopped working. We did some troubleshooting of the issue but to no avail. It was no big deal at the time, we just started using ice trays. We should have known at the time that something was very wrong. So about 4 weeks ago the refrigerator died. We lost all of our food and had no back up at the time. The day it died I called LG customer service and they set me up with a company called A&E Factory Service. After a day A&E called me and said the soonest they could get a technician to my house was 2 weeks away!I complained enough to the point where I worked it down to a week (again no refrigerator).. A week of eating out goes by and the technician shows up for my service call. He troubleshoots the refrigerator and says the compressor is toast. He says he needs to order everything in since he doesnt keep anything on his truck. He schedules another appointment with me which is 3 WEEKS AWAY. So now Im looking at four weeks without a refrigerator. So after the 3 weeks the new technician shows up and replaces everything on the fridge (compressor, coil, and two other heater items?). 3 hours later he says, Were all set. give it a day or two and itll be all set. Well 2 days later its not all set. Still broken, still not cooling at all..I called LG again and demanded they send me a new refrigerator and was told that I needed to have a service technician back to the house to see if it really needs to be replaced or if they can fix the problem. IS THAT NOT WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE DURING THE FIRST TWO CALLS!!I have now been without a refrigerator for over 4 weeks. I have taken two days off from work, one for each visit, which has cost me a lot of income, and will now have to take at least an additional day off for a third visit. I have a family of five and we are continuing to either eat quick made meals or eating out which is costing a fortune. I am completely fed up at this point. Never will I purchase another LG product. Which is very unfortunate since I already have 2 LG tvs, 2 LG soundbars and an LG microwave.

Purchased an LG LFX 25971 French Door/Freezer on the bottom fridge in Sept. 08 from PC Richard. Am I glad they convinced me into a 10 extended warranty. 6 months after, LG notifies me, because the Consumer Energy Report was found to be off by the Government. They needed to give me a refund check of like $30.00 and a yearly check of about $8.00 for 10 years. That was just the beginning. So far I had to call for service 2 times for the internal LED light panel blew, 1 time for the ice maker, twice for water puddling and freezing in the bottom of my freezer and then running out onto my floor. Now I have to call again for the water in the freezer. The only good thing is PC RICHARD has been honoring their warranty no problem.

We had purchased a LG 3 door refrigerator in 2014 month of October, yesterday it stopped cooling or making ice. We called the number listed on the refrigerator. Got a automated system that sent us a text message to troubleshoot the problem. We did exa5 as was given in the text. Waited 24 hours, woke up this morning and that refrigerator was still not cooling or made any ice. Called LG back. Spoke with one of their service representatives who informed me what I already knew that if it was my compressor I have a 10 year warranty on this part but I would have to pay a service call charge and a labour charges if it was the compressor. The charges were as follows. 125.00 for the service call and if compressor labour is 250.00. Researching online I found that there a class action lawsuit against them for this issue. They have known about this and have kept continuing to sell these refrigerators with this issue. Also while researching I found out that this happens after 5 years and my extended warranty has expired. This is not right. I asked the representative about my food loss and he state to me after I had this repair done to call back and speak to a customer service representative and they would give me a compensation for my food loss but I needed receipts for the food I had in my refrigerator. I asked him who keeps their receipts and he brushed it off by stating call after the repair is complete and speak to the food loss department. I have a receipt but it wont let me upload. Put food in microwave, pressed the EZ ON BUTTON which will heat food for 30 seconds. The microwave started for about 1 second and then immediately just died. After about a minute it powered on was asking for the clock setting. It acted like it does when the power goes out. This microwave did this one time yesterday also. I entered and set the clock time and then input 1 minute time and, almost as soon as I pressed the start button, the microwave died again only this time it did not revive. It appears to be completely dead and is only about 16 months old (purchased October 2014). This is the first LG appliance I have ever owned and likely will be the last. I paid good money for this appliance and wish I hadnt thrown out the old one. It was rusted some inside but had been working for almost 20 years!! I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

I purchased a $2700 LG refrigerator 6 years ago. It stopped working. They provided only two companies to repair. Neither will call me back to come and service unit. LG cannot provide anyone that can repair it. I have to dump it and buy a new one. How is that fair? LG is one of the largest companies in the US.

Fridge stopped cooling in early May. Its only 2.5 years old. After six repair appointments 3 of which were to tell us they could not do it that day, and had to order parts and a four hour repair appointment it broke again a week later. Called LG. Called repair service A & E through Lowes. Still have no fridge and more parts on order including another compressor. LG refuses to acknowledge the first four hour repair in May because it was set up with the same repair company but through LOWES my extended warranty. I called and offered to walk away for the near cost of replacing it. They refused so I am taking them to Small Claims Court. LG is garbage.

Bought the 4.1 high efficiency top loader on 2/1/14 from Lowes and on 5/15/15 the washer broke. The codes that keep showing up is telling me the problem is with the drain hose. So Ive checked the hose, removed it, bought a new one and still the same code appears. So I took the back off to check if something is blocking the hose and nothing. When the clothes are washing the water will not drain it is aimed into my stationary tubs so I lay it on the floor and the water pours out but doesnt stop so the washer can fill up to actually clean the clothes. Called the 800 number to be told its out of warranty and I need to call a local repair man. Many places dont deal with LG repairs and the ones that do charge $100 just to look at the problem. A total waste of $800 on this item. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASHER.

Will never invest in an LG product of any kind! Bought one of LG’s high-end dishwashers (model LDP6797BD) less than 2 years ago for its quiet running, nice bells and whistles (including WiFi access), and 5 year warranty for electronics. A few days ago the LED display started going on/off, dancing through all the readouts, beeping, and displaying what appeared to be an error code (“L2”) but wasn’t. We called for warranty repairs with a local authorized technician. He calls LG and they tell him its hardware (user interface board), not software (which clearly it was). Minimum repair cost, $285 (included the $85 service call).I call LG to explain why it’s the software and should be under warranty. LG’s Customer Service agrees it could be electronics and will dispatch their factory technician for $125 plus and a minimum labor charge of $65 (but up to $175) if its covered under warranty. Unlike the local technician’s $85 service fee, LG’s service fee of $125 is not applied towards repairs. I explained that I could buy a new dishwasher (NOT an LG) for what I would spend in repairs and my previous $300 dishwasher lasted 10 years…what’s wrong with their product(s)?

We purchased our LG electric range model LRE3023ST in November 2012 and the buttons have stopped working now 3 times. Each time a repairman came out; however it works intermittently so when it stopped working on a Sunday and the repairman comes on Wednesday, and it has since begun working again, they do nothing. Once it was not working when repairman came and they replaced all the electronics, which worked only for a short time before happening again. It is completely unreliable and I never know if it will work. I cannot understand how LG can get away with selling stoves that dont work. Similar models have been recalled but not yet this one, but LG obviously has issues with the buttons on their stoves. Three times I have prepared dinner only to find out I cannot use my range. LG is not at all helpful. I will never purchase LG or any appliance from Home Depot.

Updated on 05/22/2020: Our refrigerator died on May 8th and now 15 DAYS LATER we still do not have a resolution from LG. I just tried calling the latest number they gave us to call puts you on hold for 10 minutes and then hangs up on you. I have wasted 40 minutes so far trying to talk to a person. I am on medication that suppresses my immune system which makes my in an at risk category for COVID. We were trying to limit our trip out during this time but now my husband has to do daily shopping because we have no frig - putting me at more risk. This is all absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to have a company have no regard for an essential item like a refrigerator and the impact that has on your daily life when you dont have one.Original Review: We purchased a new LG Refrigerator in March of 2018 on night Thursday, May 7th the refrigerator completely died. To add insult to injury, my husband has just gotten groceries that day, so the frig and the freezer were fully stocked, and we lost almost everything. We contacted LG first thing Friday morning and had to leave a message with a call back number. They never called us back, so on Saturday morning, we called again, and this time spoke with a person who only told us that it seems that the linear compressor has failed and she would put in a request for a local service provider to contact us.It is now Monday, May 11th, and we still have not been contacted by a service provider. During this time of COVID-19 we are trying very hard to only go to the store once a week for essentials. This is next to impossible now that we are living out of an ice chest and a tiny dorm/beverage refrigerator that we have in our entertainment room. After doing some research online, I discovered that the linear compressor failing after about 2 years is extremely common and that LG has known about the problem since 2014 but continues to manufacture and sell these faulty products. We also talked to a local appliance repair company, and they will NOT service LG refrigerators. They did not feel right about installing the new linear compressors in peoples refrigerators because it is the exact same part (the linear compressor), and it just ends up failing again. They did not want their companies reputation ruined by LGs faulty parts. So here we are, no refrigerator and no service. I am beyond disappointed LG. We spent close to $3000 on this refrigerator, and my husband is currently out of a job, so we do not have any money to have to buy a new refrigerator right now.

Bought a top of the line LG washer. Washes regular loads of clothing well -- HOWEVER -- do NOT plan to wash sheets or mattress pads! No matter how I balanced the load, the machine cannot get through the spin cycle. This morning, I have taken some out (that didnt help) -- added the removed blanket back (that didnt work - no matter how I repositioned the items) -- put the first piece back and added additional sheets, hoping that would enable the machine to spin (nope - still wont spin!) I replaced my older Maytag front loader with this LG one and am SOOOO sorry we did! Please pay attention to the other reviewers advising against purchasing one of these LG washing machines! They are not exaggerating! This is a nightmare! LG serviceman could not help -- told me to only place items that fill the washer 2/3s full. Doing with this with bedding only makes the unbalance worse. Not sure what Im going to do with the wet mess I have in my laundry room at this point! YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

This is a PSA regarding LG dishwasher LDP6797BD. First do not buy any LG products. I purchased this dishwasher in Oct./17 and it has been broken down twice. The repair tech arrived to fix it and the parts shipped were damaged so therefore he could not fix it. So called customer service. Rep Ali started talking the moment I asked that the unit be replaced explaining that the repairs had to be completed. He was finished with his work and explained that to her, she then told him he had to talk to technical department in order to recommend replacement. Our repairman assured me that LG doesnt replace any defective appliances that they will replace every part instead. I will be replacing this piece of junk and will tell everyone on every site I can NOT TO BUY THIS POS from LG Electronics.

Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight
Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight of the load and determines what amount of water to add to wash the clothes. Since the Government has to be involved with every aspect of our lives to save energy & conserve water, this device is crap! There is never enough water to wash the clothes and the clothes do NOT come clean. This mandate has sent us back to the early 1900s way of doing laundry with an old wash tub, scrub board & old soap that actually cleans the clothes!!! I cant afford to buy new clothes every month & refuse to wear dirty clothes! Only way around it.... Luckily I have a wash sink next to my washer. As I put clothes into the tub, I run the faucet hose over to the washer & wet the clothes as I put them in the washer. This creates a heavy load & as the sensor weighs the load, it is heavier and adds the right amount of water to wash the clothes!!! I have a glass lid so I can stand there & watch the water level. Unbelievable that the Government tells the Manufacturers how to build a washer with devices we dont need or want!!! Doing laundry for over 45 years, I am bright enough to know a small, medium or large load and able to determine my own water level for the appropriate washing cycle. If you dont have a wash sink, you will have to wash your clothes TWICE! So much for saving water. What morons we have running the United States of America!!

In March 2009 I purchased an LG TROMM washer model WM2487HWM. I loved the washer and dryer. Until October 2012, the washer suddenly without any prior dripping warnings, developed a gushing leak when filling. I had a waterfall in my finished basement, the ceiling destroyed and furnishings soaked. The first floor where the washer was the hardwood flooring buckled a couple days later. I took it with a grain of salt, just clean it up and fix it. The part cost less than $10.00. There are YouTube videos to show you how to replace it. The hardest part of changing it was getting the heavy washer moved out to access the back to remove the cover. Part replaced, washer working fine, I am happy. Now just clean up the damage it caused. December 13, 2015, the same thing happened again. I am not taking this mess very well a second time. I should have realized by all the videos this was not just a fluke, but a reoccurring problem. I would not recommend a LG washer to anyone unless you have a damage proof place to put it.

We purchased Model LFXS30726S in late 2015. About a month ago we came home to find water all over the floor and the fridge had stopped being cold. I called LG the following day as it appeared that we had a compressor stop working and cooling the fridge. The compressor has a 10 Year Warranty on it, and LG has had known issues with this particular compressor that they used then because there is a class action lawsuit about it. Anyways, I call LG the next day and they tell me that it will be 15 days...YES over 2 weeks before someone can come even look at the fridge!! Not repair it, just look at it and order parts. Parts were going to be an additional 3-4 days I was told. I said that was unacceptable to go without our fridge with a family of 5 living here. At this point she offered no more options that were suitable to our needs so I moved on and made a few phone calls myself. I fortunately spoke to a great repair company in Denver that said they repair 3-4 compressors on LG fridges a day and that they have the parts needed to complete the job and could be here in 2 days to fix it. So I have the refrigerator repaired and it works fantastically, I call LG to file a warranty claim to at least recover the cost of the parts, and maybe a little labor if possible. LG tells me Theres nothing they can do!. Since they didnt order the work through their network of repair companies, then they wont pay for anything.Seriously!?!? You have to be kidding me?? I was going to have to wait almost 3 weeks to get my fridge repaired through LG, which is completely unacceptable, or else they wont buck up $1000 for the repairs. They have basically told me to go pound sand every time Ive spoken to them.MY ADVISE NOW - DO NOT BUY ANYTHING LG...EVER!!! There are plenty of competitors with as good, if not better products in the market who will make things right. LG is not concerned about doing the right thing as a company. LG is only concerned that their big corporation gets to keep a $1000 instead of making a customer whole by doing the right thing.

We purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator in 2011. The model was on sale. I wish I had seen the negative reviews here before purchasing! The ice maker often sticks (the water position). In the cube position we most often get crushed ice and few cubes. I find access to the on/off switch for the ice maker very inconvenient; a drawer - on which we keep ice cream containers - must be removed to reach the switch.. an awkward arrangement. And if we remove the ice drawer, getting the metal rod that protrudes from the back into the correct place can be difficult. Our experience hasnt been nearly as bad as many listed here, but I definitely would not recommend the LG to anyone.

WT7200CW - Cold Water Valve broke, still not fixed and it has been 2-1/2 months. LG forgot to send order to Appliance Company to fix. Now, company cant get part, so we are waiting on that. We are retired and do 1 load every 8 days, and it still broke after 2 months. LG customer service very inefficient and I talked with 4 to 5 different people to try and just get the warranty to fix machine. Got 2nd date for repair and Appliance Company actually received the order from LG to fix. The clerk didnt tell repairman that it was cold water valve, so he didnt come out because have to order it. That was August 24th, and it is September 14th, still waiting on part to come in.This is 3rd LG product to purchase in 9 months, and it will be the last. Customer service didnt care at all that this broke so soon and that they didnt send the order for the first fix. Bought this machine because its supposed to not get unbalanced, because of a tube around the tub. Wrong, it still does it. Our Maytag was as good, and it was 7 years old. Stay away from LG products. They do not care how their products perform.

I purchased a top load wave balance from Home Depot in November 2001 and waited for delivery until January 2002. Within two years of delivery, I noticed that the bleach dispenser had started to corrode around the plastic cup. The dispenser has now corroded to the point that it is laying on the wall of the agitator and dropping rust into the loads of clothes that I wash. I contacted LG headquarters and was told that since my warranty had expired I needed to contact a repair person at my own expense for repair. No explanation was given as to why the dispenser would corrode and start to drop.I previously had a Maytag washer that lasted 20 years with only minor repairs at the end. I am very disgusted with LGs customer satisfaction policy and Ive bought my first and last LG product. I guess in the 21st century customer service does not matter to big corporations. I bought my LG French door refrigerator in 2011 and its pretty much dead now. The ice maker was always flakey but we lived with it. The gasket doors started hanging up and we lived through it. Then ice maker stopped making ice. Ordered new ice maker but found out that it was not making ice because it was not cold enough. Cleaned the coils and it just slowly got worse. Ordered a temp sensor and the main pcb. Tried those parts but still not cooling properly. Called LG. I figured it was the compressor because I read that LG was using bad compressors. Paid a certified LG service provider 600.00 in labor to replace compressor.Called Friday and by Tuesday they were replacing the compressor, wow Im feeling good about now. Two guys 4 or 5 hrs later and calls to LG and they were told they needed the main pcb. I gave them the new pcb I had ordered and the same problem persisted. The compressor shuts down after 15 minutes. They said they would have to order another one from LG and come back. After not hearing for a couple of days I called them and ask them What was up? They said that they ordered but because LG was having so many problems with these compressors they were back ordered and they had no idea when a new compressor would arrive. They said not their fault call LG and ask them.Call LG but they were useless. They said they were not having any issues with bad compressors and dont believe anything you read on the internet. I asked What about the service provider? Is he lying to me? LG responds that it does not take much to become a warranty service provider just ask to be one. No training. Wow! LG pretty much said 7 years is the lifespan of their products and then they become legacy and put at back of the bus. They will provide parts if they can get them. I own a LG55 inch tv that fail after about 5 years, found a main board out of Nova Scotia and was able to repair that. If it wasnt for that it would in the trash. So here is the problem I paid the service provider to replace the compressor and LG provided the part but if they have to come back to do it again who pays for that? LG can send another compressor but theyre not paying for the service. The service provider had two guys for about 4 to 5 hrs. Why would the service provider work for free? I can see this evolving into cant get parts from LG and LG saying they have no issues supplying good parts forever and never repairing my fridge. Thank god I did not but an LG exploding phone. It took them forever to recall those phones!

I have been happy with the design of the stainless steel unit and how it blends in to my kitchen with other stainless steel appliances. I enjoyed the design of the refrigerator freezer and its many compliments. The deli drawer perfect for small items like yogurt containers and cheese and deli. I bought an LG refrigerator in Sept 2016, it failed April 2019. I have been without a working refrigerator for over 4 months. They have attempted to replace the compressor 3 times, 2 of these times they also replaced the motherboard, each time its failed. LG told me that they would attempt to repair 3 times before a replacement would be issued. On the day of the 3rd failed attempt I called and was told that they were submitting the approval for a replacement. After not hearing back I called and Im now being told that each of those repairs fell into the same type of repair and that they will be sending a technician to try something different. Not until today was I offered a $150 credit towards a mini- refrigerator. Im being given quite the run-around, a different story each time I call it seems and Im at the end of my rope. How much time am I supposed to take off work to meet repair men, will they attempt this new type of repair 3 more times, then will they try something new? How long will this go on - a year? A refrigerator should last longer than 2.5 years, PERIOD. They are aware they are selling defective refrigerators. There are class action lawsuits about these compressors. Enough is enough. None of the local authorized service techs had anything good to say about LG. We purchased LG washer WT5070VC and LG dryer DLEX5170W in November 2012. Total cost new at Home Depot was $1400. They are both broken and cost of repair is $700. I contacted LG this morning and spent three hours on the phone with them. They did several diagnostic tests over the phone. They offered nothing. They did try to set me up with a local repairman and could not find one. We contacted Home Depot on our own and paid $97 for their diagnostician to come out. His price for repairs is the $700 mentioned above for a washing machine clutch and assembly as well as the dryer vent blower. These are both minor repairs and will still have this gross total to fix. Will never purchase LG again and plan to discourage others from buying as well. If there is anything I can do to further contact LG, please let me know. I have sent an email to their customer service dept following my phone call with customer service and diagnostics this morning.

We purchased our LG front loading washer and dryer in 2018. Like many of the reviews I have read we too are very disappointed in our purchase. I noticed that the clothes came out smelling within a few months of buying and I called LG DIRECTLY as it was under their warranty but was told that I need to run the tub clean more often. Done that for over a year and also washed clothes twice - not efficient as waste of energy. We do have an extended warranty and recently a tech came out so I let him open the washer door as I had just done a tub clean the night before - it smelled like a rat was dead in the drum. He too agreed he had never experienced that before! He poured half a bottle of my Bleach and ran the cycles again for almost 2 hours. Said the problem was fixed and if I experienced the smell again I needed to call them back thru Assurant the company who warranties the extended warranty. Did so and they declined to send a different tech saying that there was no mechanical problem. My clothes come out smelling and the even the dryer time has to be increased to double for the clothes to dry correctly. NEVER BUY THIS WASHER OR DRYER EVER. EVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL OT HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. I bought the pair from a very reputable store in the area but I believe that LG Is aware of the problems with the machines and do not want to take responsibility for the defects. I do hope this review deters anyone buying an LG front load direct drive washer and dryer.

I keep getting uneven loads and I re-load and re-load and re-load and it takes a day or so to finish one load of laundry. This so called smart drum sucks. If you are smart you will never buy any LG products. I have told all of my family (large family) and all of my friends nationwide to never buy the LG product. You will only have a headache every time you try to do laundry.

New LG washing machine default wash setting of NORMAL only fills tub with about 1/4 of water. I watched a complete wash cycle and some of the towels were never submerged in the water. They did not get sloshed or agitated in any water. They just stayed in a pile above the water line. This is terrible. I called LG and they told me that was normal for the NORMAL setting to save water. If I put a lot of clothes in the tub I have to choose the bedding setting so the tub will fill with water and the clothes then get washed properly. I am so sorry I did not check and observe this as my 30 day free return period has passed by just 10 days. I would definitely have returned this washing machine if I had known it doesnt have a means to sense how much water to put into the tub. Also trying to get service on their website is not easy. I will never buy any LG product in the future. LG = Living Good, well not for me.

Seems my problem (compressor & HORRIBLE customer service) is one of MANY complaints about the LG refrigerator. It is junk and the service techs are even worse!!! No one cares and there really is no one to talk to as it seems even the managers and supervisors are deaf tone. The Filipinos are very nice... but NOT HELPFUL at all. It is like they just read from their computer prompt with every statement you make. My question is: WHERE AND HOW DO WE GET A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT?! $3000 fridge should last more than 3 yrs! I have a small fridge that is 21 yo and has never had a service call and still works! My in laws have a fridge from 1978 that STILL WORKS! Wth?! Junk!!!

I have been reading the many complaints of the LG gas oven switch complaints. We have been having the same problems. (1) Clothing catching on switches and accidentally lighting the burners. (2) Switches turning on but not far enough to ignite the gas supply leaving raw gas to disperse into the kitchen. I wrote to LG about this problem and the answer indicated that they had heard about the problem but it was not dangerous enough to issue a recall. Maybe they need a house fire or a gassing death before they are compelled to take real action. By the way the answer I received had many grammatical errors in the reply so I assume it may be written by some low paid clerk with no real knowledge of the danger with this design problem. No more LG products for this household.

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

I bought a LG refrigerator (model no. LFXS30766S) on December 2015. After two years of service the compressor went bad. I was able to get LG to replace the compressor, since it was still under its 10 year warranty although the repair cost me about $250 on labor cost. Now on February 2020 the second compressor when also bad. It is my conclusion that LGs linear inverter compressors are complete garbage and LG shall issue a recall and replace them or issue refunds to all customers with this problem.

I purchased 2 sets of LG appliances. Both of the dryers have sensor drying that has never worked properly. I have called people out who tell me it is the vents that need cleared. After having that done, it still takes hours, literally to dry things. Sometimes I just give up and hang things in my bathtub to dry. I do not recommend this brand. Model DLG3744W. I purchased this fridge 2 years ago; it had good reviews and I was assured by the 10 yr compressor warranty. Turns out that you are just buying an ongoing problem! How can LG sell a known defective product? The refrigerator we replaced worked well for 27 years. Our warranty was voided because we tried to have it fixed first by a non-accredited LG tech, but it is the compressor that went out and LG has abandoned us in a technicality. And if we had it repaired, in all likelihood it would go out again in 2 years. I love the design and look, but not worth the $3k problem. After reading multiple reviews, seems that LG knowingly continues to put out a defective product. Shame on you LG!

We noticed water in the tray (leaking from bottom of the washer) in the very first week. Tech call within a week! Not a happy start. Water leaked few months later. Now we see water leak almost every wash. Technician came out and confirmed no leak after running few wash cycles. Fingers crossed... We had to call the technician once for a different issue also. I never had such issues in my previous washer (front load -- not LG) which we used for about 10 years. Also I have a feeling that this machine is using lot more water than my previous one and wash cycles are longer.

200 characters isnt enough to explain, LG wont offer up they know about the issue and that they extended all warranties on the linear compressor to 5 years. My refrigerator was purchased on Nov. 1, 2017. https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/3871/important-lg-refrigerator-warranty-information-announcement-please-read. Opened case with LG support, LG happily said that my refrigerator is under warranty when my LG account for registering my appliances clearly says it is out of warranty. You have to call the number in the link that I added to get the warranty work. Talking with the agent, who was pleasant to speak with, also came back and said that LG will also offer to pick up the cost of the Labor on this call as a complimentary service. Really? It is stated in the warranty that Labor is covered! So much for the fake gesture, is Life Good? Anyway, back to my story. Now that I finally got to the bottom of all this, we have a service ticket generated and the agent is working to confirm a service technician in my area to take the service call, stating we will have someone within 24 hrs. Ok, well we all know by now, 3 days after the refrigerator has stopped cooling and at 61 degrees, all of our food is no longer safe to eat. It is now exactly 24hrs from placing my service call with LG and still no confirmed service technician on the case, when-o-when will my refrigerator cool again? And Ill just leave all discussion about the pandemic going on right now, ugh...As I continue to do more research about this topic, how many of you are aware of the class action suit against LG for this exact issue? ** I guess it pays to do your research. After the cost of a technician to tell me the compressor isnt functioning properly and a hum hum nudge nudge on the shoulder saying check this out, I discovered all this and am now expecting my refrigerator to be fixed for free. Once it is fixed I have to ask one more question. Is the new compressor covered by a 5 year warranty from the day it was installed, it should be! After all, we all know that this compressor will also fail within the next 36 months, give or take. This is the second generation linear compressor and LG has yet to fix its know issues, I am not aware of a 3rd generation compressor coming out any time soon. If you continue to research you will find that LG has already gone through a class action suit for this same issue on compressors prior to these. I hope this was some what helpful to anyone reading this and doing their own research into an LG refrigerator. Anyone looking for a French Door Refrigerator? I have one for sale!

The steam dishwasher went dead during warranty. The corporate repair technician came out. He did something, said he could not replicate the problem, and the washer started up! Two months after the warranty expired, all 3 circuit boards went out. The corporate technician was no longer allowed to come out, and we were forced to use a new company that only services LG on Fridays. Weve been doing dishes by hand for 6 weeks, and still, dont have the parts. It will be two more weeks at the minimum before repair is complete due to LG policy, parts distro, and customer service. I chose this fridge because it got good ratings with Consumer Reports. They must not read these reviews! Our experience was similar to others here. The fridge worked great for 18 months and then the freezer quit. First local authorized agent was not up to the task and walked away after wasting three weeks of our time. Second agent, an hour distant, did get the compressor replaced (bravo!), but by then we had been down for 38 days. It took many phone calls. Although the young people who answer at LG were friendly and tried to help, it was frustrating to hear the life is good recording with each call as the days kept passing. LG did cover the repair cost.It has now been five months and so far everything is fine. But I wonder if this compressor, which Im told is the same model as the defective one, is likely to fail in another year or so. And will they cover the cost again? And will it take a month again? Another concern is the cost to the environment of these new high efficiency appliances which apparently have a much shorter service life than the old models.

Back in November 2008 we purchased an LG front load washer from Home Depot. After two months of owning the washer it went crazy! I had put a load of clothes in to wash and went about my chores, when I heard a horrible banging sound! When I ran into the laundry room I saw the washer jumping all over the place and beating holes in my wall! Before I could get to the plug to disconnect power, the front of the machine blew off and the washer drum fell out. I was in shock, my floor was flooded and the machine was destroyed! I called LG and explained what had happened and their wonderful customer service suggested that I unplug the machine for 15 minutes and then try it again! Really??? After 3 weeks, about 50 phone calls they finally sent a repairman out who said it was do fixable! Another two weeks went by and we finally got a replacement machine. The replacement leaks all of the time! They have been out to check it more times than I can count and it still leaks! I will never buy another LG product!

I found the washing machine not working ... its burning from within, black burning internally - arched inside on the wires - caught fire. LG does not want to recognize that there is a problem... This is a huge legality and liability for LG. No machine should catch on fire... LG needs to make it right. Could this model be a recall? I found a lot of bad reviews on this model.

Updated on 02/14/2021: I posted a review on 12/19/20, at which time my microwave had been dead for two months. LG responded by asking me to send details by private message. I did that on 12/20/20. They did not reply, respond, or take any action. LGs second repair attempt (on this, the third time the unit has failed) broke what few remaining features (fan, light, clock) still worked. Costco has been trying for the last two weeks to get LG to replace the unit. They are getting what I got: no response, untruths, failure to call back when they promised. LG customer service is non-existent. This Friday will be three months since it broke. They do not contend that I am at fault in any way. They just wont do anything.Original Review: We bought a microwave from Costco as part of a $4000 kitchen appliance package. It has died three times in the year and a half since purchase. This third time (November 19), the part needed to repair it no longer exists. Despite that, Im getting a complete runaround from LG customer service, repeatedly being promised call-backs that never happen, 20+ minute hold times, and hours wasted on the phone. At this point, I am promised a call by December 28. Ill believe it when it happens.

The issue appeared to resolve spontaneously. Exactly a year later we are having the same problem. We have completed the ridiculous instructions to unplug the power for 2 hours, then wait 24-48 hours to see if cools. We can expect service in 10 days. I cannot believe the electricity/water it uses and how your product - even after rinsing - cannot clean. I feel I need to put an extra rinse to help get the grime off. I also filed a complaint with the State attorney generals office which I have not heard back from yet. When LG states on 12/23/2020 they have to resubmit claim because of their error and we have to follow up ourselves is disturbing. LG opened 5 Customer Concern Reports and Three Different Repair Orders. Refrigerator not repairable and none in stock through Home Depot. We had to Reorder another LG unit and paid extra for an ESP plan to protect ourselves, $195.00 dollars for an ESP plan to Protect ourselves. LG promised delivery 1/25/2021, UNBLIEVEABLE. Home Depot tried to elevate our New Order, 11/20/2020, but with no help from LG. Our compressor and coil failed on our 4 1/2 year old fridge. We bought the fridge from Lowes Canada with a 4 year extended warranty. About 2 years ago the fridge stopped working, all the food spoiled. We called the repair company and they fixed it. Just recently the fridge died. LG said they would send out a repair person in about a week! All the food spoiled. LG said the repair man would call us to schedule when he would be coming. The day before he was supposed to come, LG cancelled our appointment without telling us and said they need the repair man elsewhere and they would reschedule the appointment for TWO weeks later. Who does that to their customers? We called Lowes and freaked out. They sent over another repairman who said the compressor and coil were pooched. 3 weeks we waited for him to come back to fix it. In the mean time we purchased another fridge to put in the basement so we could get back to normality (not LG Brand). The fridge is fixed with new compressor and coil but the compressor will not stop running. LG and Lowes have both washed their hands and said there is nothing else they can do! I’ll I can hear in my house I’d the constant hum of the fridge all the time. I have never had such a bad experience with LG and Lowes Canada in my life. Too many apologies and no action. This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a war
This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. Thats not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isnt Kenmore anymore.

$3,000 5-yr.-old top of the line LG refrigerator still not fixed after 5 weeks! Horrible customer service! LG has not been able to repair it in 5 weeks with 6 visits from repairman. BTW: ONLY PARTS are covered by LG warranty, not labor. If your LG fridge breaks the day after you buy it, YOU pay for labor, and each call involves a minimum of two visits by repairman - one to look at it so he can order parts (they keep nothing in stock) and at least one return to try to fix it.The repairman suggested on his FIRST visit that we BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR, before he even ordered the new compressor. They do not want to honor warranty. They want you to give up and buy a new appliance! He actually said refrigerators do not last more than 5 years! My son in law has spent hours on the phone (mostly on hold) trying to arrange repairs, been transferred to departments that are closed, been told to call back tomorrow (when departments are closed), and been told that the earliest available repair appointment was 4 weeks away! He has been hung up on. He has been told that they cannot access his records and that the only department that can access his records is not open today (Friday). The repairman suggested more than once that we buy a new refrigerator instead of requiring LG to honor their warranty. Who spends $3,000 on a fridge they expect to last only 5 years?

Purchased a new counter depth LG refrigerator in April 2015 due to the remodeling of our kitchen. Unit was delivered in May and put into operation during early June 2015. Unit ran fine without problem during the warranty period (one year). In late July 2016, approximately 2 months after the warranty expired we experience ice forming on the back of the inside of the unit. Eventually the fan started making noise and the temperature inside did not seem cold. The unit then displayed a code of rf. Since it was out of warranty, I researched LG refrigerator problems and now realized all the issues with LG and their lack of customer care, so I called Sears Home Service. The technician visited the house, inspected the unit, researching the error code and determined the problem was a failed motherboard. Technician ordered a motherboard and advised he would come back when we received the motherboard. We received the motherboard a few days later, advised the technician of the receipt. He promptly came out the next day and replaced. In summary and based on other reviews, I am just another customer who bought a LG refrigerator for a couple of grand and just after the warranty period had to pay approximately $500 to enable the unit to operate. LG might look good but either the design or quality of parts is inferior because it appears my problem was not unique. Advice to future purchasers is avoid LG. Look for a reliable brand.

Sturdiness of drawers was a problem. The drawer to the lunch meat tray broke twice. The door didnt always close well even though it appeared closed at the time. Freezer trays could be divided more.

The wash always smells mildewy. The white clothes do not get clean. The door hinge looks like it oxidized (its below bleach so I think that its dripping on the hinge somehow). The hinge locked up and now the door doesnt swing open properly and the door no longer seals so theres a leak on the floor all the time.

The inside drum of the washing machine starts hitting the body of the machine when rotating at high speed. The noise created is like very horrible. Also the customer care doesnt register the complaint. They provide useless solutions. Neither do they send any technician.

We purchased an LG model WM2701HV from Sears in October 2010. Within 8 months, the lettering on the controls was wiping away just running down the front of the washer and yes, we get the gray spots on our whites. LG refuses to replace the control face and so we have homemade labels and Dalmatian whites. What a lousy company. Dont waste your time or money. LG does not back up their product.

I have an LG French Door Refrigerator Model # LFX25971ST. The icemaker, front control panel and water dispenser stopped working. I contacted LG to set up a service appointment. The LG technician came out and diagnosed that it was one of three possible circuit boards. He had to order them which required a second visit. The boards didnt fix it. So, the technician did further diagnosis and thinks that a bad wire in the left door is bad which would require replacing the door. The door is sealed so he cannot get to the wire to fix it. What a stupid design. Anyway, he has to come back for a third visit. I contacted LG customer assistance or should I say crap assistance, and requested a goodwill adjustment since my fridge is out of warranty. I felt my request was reasonable because of the amount of time I lost from work, there was nothing I did to cause the failure, and because of a poor design the repair would be a lot more expensive. The LG agent asked me to scan and send in my sales receipt and he would follow up and get back with me with a decision. That was a week ago. I finally called again and as usual, with these customer service centers you get people that are clueless. She told me she would put my request in but it takes about three business days to get a decision. I told her that I did this a week ago. Then she started telling me my fridge was out of warranty. Duh! Really? You know, if its out of warranty and LG doesnt want to back their products, thats life, but they didnt even keep their promise and call me back with a decision. I remember when refrigerators lasted for 30 years. Now, I think LG puts in all this useless electronics which just causes more things that go wrong, forcing customers to have to pay to keep their refrigerators running. Anyway, LG is off my shopping list forever. A Fridge that breaks thats only four years old tells you what kind of quality they have but hey they back that up with lousy customer service. When it comes to LG products all I can say is, Buyer Beware!

Ive had two 30+ cubic ft LG french door refrigerators in the last 1.5 years. Both completely failed within 6 months. The first had 5 to 6 weekend repairs before it was replaced. No food reimbursement for loss of over 500 in food. The second had 3 sealed component fail in the first year as well. Sears finally refunded my money and I went with Whirlpool. 6 of 7 LG Customer service representatives were rude and completely lacked empathy. I wrote corporate a 3 page letter and they never responded. Life is NOT good with LG! I will never buy any LG product going forward because I got such a bad taste of their customer service. I wouldnt even consider a Kenmore Elite, which I really wanted.

I purchased an LG top loader model WT5070CW on August 31st, 2012. From day one, it did not work correctly. Water would not fill properly and kept getting an IE code. I spoke with LG customer service, and they gave me a local repair center. They came out and said it was either the control board or a bad valve. He said he would order both parts and just replace both parts. I was notified today that the valve is on back order until Nov 29th! Unacceptable! This washer is only 2 months old, and now they are telling me I cannot get my part for another month? I told them I want a replacement or the part in the next day. They said sorry. I will never ever, ever buy an LG product again! My clothes do not get clean and the washer was defective since day one! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and want to get the word out to people to never buy an LG product. They do not stand behind their product!

I just purchased a LG dishwasher LDP6797BB from Home Depot on 10/9/17, it was delivered on 10/17. We installed it ourselves (no issues there). Once we had the dishwasher all installed and confirmed no leaks, I went to run the dishwasher through a full cycle (as recommended). I powered on the machine only to get this code L2, I pulled the book out to find out this code means, luckily (according to the book) this is not an error it is a Rinse Agent code... However, the book does not tell you how to clear this code. So I called LG customer service, I was told I had to reset the machine at the circuit breaker. OK so I do that, machine is reset, machine works (thank God). When the cycle completes, I load the dishwasher with dishes and power on the machine... L2 AGAIN, reset AGAIN, did not work, reset breaker again. I have done this 1 MILLION TIMES in a week (and yes there is rinse agent in the machine). I have called LG, they are no help. They have no techs on staff that you can speak to, I know this is an easy fix, but they insist on sending a tech to my home. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY LG AGAIN... Fingers crossed that they can fix this once and for all.
