Purchased LG French door refrigerator 17 months ago. Stopped cooling three weeks ago and finally repairman came today. Compressor is shot. Could take another three weeks before it is repaired. I have been without a refrigerator for three weeks now. Based on other reviews I can expect the compressor to go out again within 12 to 18 months because LG refrigerators are poorly made but they have a high price tag. I am now stuck with this piece of junk.

Well, I have never been more disappointed in an appliance before. This machine has not worked since day one, but more importantly has cost me an inordinate amount of money based on my water bills. It took me several months to figure out why I was paying hundreds extra on my water bill. Granted, I live in a neighborhood that is overcharged for water. This washer consistently has an error of an uneven load (UE), even when I have all similar clothing in the washing machine. It continues to refill and refill and refill for hours before stopping. In addition, it is not even warm or hot water, but always cold. In addition, when I try to use a lower spin on delicate clothing, it continues to spin ferociously. To make matters worse, it will absolutely not wash a handful of items and forces you to use a large load. So if you have a handful of delicates you absolutely will not ever, ever be able to wash them.It is absolutely the worst washing machine and has cost me literally thousands of dollars. I was once run off the road from behind by elderly man in a Porsche. My van was totaled and my children I rolled over several times. I refused to sue him, but I would sue LG in a heartbeat. I simply cannot understand why there is not a class action suit. They are preying on consumers, and they are winning! So sad... but buyer beware. We will, unfortunately be filling our landfills with these machines. What a complete and had her waste.

We bought this LG Inverter Linear fridge due to large size and do love that we can fit a lot of stuff in the fridge - however this fridge is less than two years old and not working. We called customer service on Wednesday. They have not yet called to set the appointment even after our follow up call on Friday - so here we are 5 days into a non working fridge or freezer and no repair appointment scheduled by LG - remember a $4000 plus fridge that’s less than 2 years old plus loss of the food that we have to throw out.

One good thing about it: the funny sounds it makes. Just about useless crap. Top loading pile of crap. What a hunk of junk. Mine is a top loader. Smart drive load sensor it is none of those. It does not sense loads. And is not smart. I will not purchase another LG anything again. This thing is unreliable junk. It calls itself a water saver. Problems: itll get stuck load sensing. It complains about uneven loads and the loads as far as I can tell have to be a specific size to get past that bug. I got the thing 4 months ago. If theyd own up to having given me a bad one so I could exchange I would. My current load has been trying to complete for at least 4 hours because itll simply fail. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work right. The field tech tried to fix it, and couldnt (literally). They simply didnt send that person with the parts needed to repair it. Hes tried and even once said Wow thats... just broken. It takes me most of a day to do one load.

I was told the linear compressor was a good reason to make this purchase. It was not and is a good reason not to buy LG refrigerators. They indicate a 10 year warranty on the compressor but fail to disclose you have to pay for the labor. I am now living out of an ice chest for the second time in 10 months. My advice to LG you know you sold a defective product, do the honorable and right thing and repair or replace at no charge. My fridge is 7 years old inoperable for the second time in 8 months so I am borrowing space in neighbor’s 25 year old Whirlpool. If LG wants my future business they need to clean up their past mistakes.

Periodically, about once a month or two, the machine will dump a load of slimy black crap on our clothes at the end of a wash cycle. We leave the door open, clean the filter fairly often, and drain the tube. No warning - it just happens. Use HE detergent sparingly and Warm/Cold or mostly Cold/Cold setting. Has done this since day one. We do clean the seal around the door as well. Not sure why this stuff burps out once in a while, but more than just annoying. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

The shape of the stains are very odd and could not be splatter or drips. Is anyone else having this problem? I believe the stains are coming from within the door.... While trying to get a pic of stains, I just noticed my dishwasher leaks too!

I remodeled my kitchen in 2011 and installed a LG gas range (model LRG3093ST). My range is right at 2 years old. For the last 6 months, the knobs have been splitting and spinning on the posts so that they do not turn the gas totally off. At first I smelled gas and could not figure out what was wrong until one split and lost a chunk of plastic to the point that turning it did not turn the flame off at all. I wrapped wire tightly around the posts to limp along, but now all are broken to the point none will turn on or off the gas. When I contacted LG, I was told they were out of warranty and I would be responsible for the purchase of the knobs. I told MCM Electronics, which they referred me to, that I would buy more knobs if they are better quality - not plastic. However, they are only authorized to sell original (defective) parts and they referred me to contact LG directly. After reading these reviews, how does LG get away with continuing to provide defective parts of any kind that are dangerous? If this were a car, the units would be recalled or new replacement parts would have to be upgraded. Leaking gas and fires can kill as well as car accidents. I will certainly do better research before purchasing any appliance again in the future - I am sure it will not be LG.

In 2008 we bought an LG range. On the first cleaning, soot went into the oven door window. The same thing happened with the replacement range. LG then gave us a better range at no additional charge with the understanding that we could make no further claims. We havent, but the third range had the same problem. Additionally, the whole back of the range moves when you try to turn something on. Now theres a crack there caused by the mere force of turning on a burner. Those burners take a long time to do small kitchen tasks like boil water. I bought an electric kettle for that. The range takes a full 10 minutes to get to 420. This is an extremely disappointing product.

I purchased an LG dishwasher 2 months ago and I keep getting car for codes 3 different ones. Service man came out. Said machine is junk. Should be replaced. So LG in the Philippines sends out a 2nd repair company and he cant figured it out so he ordered 3 different parts... And broke my tiles in my kitchen and said if 2 service people come out and cannot figure it out theyll replace the dishwasher. I have sent several messages to a lady named Heather in Alabama who has stopped emailing me back. And all return calls have stopped although I call every day. Been dealing with LG warranty dept for 3 weeks every day... Leaving messages and emails and my problem is still unresolved. I would never recommend any LG product ever.

I did a lot of research looking for a washing machine and dryer. When we went to Lowes we knew what we wanted but needed to see in person. The decision was difficult. I bought an LG bottom freezer fridge. I immediately noticed a high pitched whine noise whenever the compressor was running. LG gave me a big runaround but finally sent a tech to check it out. I purchased an LG washer and dryer WM2140CW about two years ago. The washer did not work correctly from day #1 of installation. The door would only seal if I pressed very, very firmly to enable the lock to engage. However, this issue was such that I was the only person strong enough to make it happen and even then, I would have to close several times over before I could get it to latch. After about four or five visits, changing boards, door locks, and finally a new door, it was fixed. Within the past few weeks, the washer now has suddenly stopped powering on when the button is pressed. Since these devices come with a whopping one year warranty, its now out of that coverage. If I unplug and plug back in, a spark will appear, every time, and it may or may not work for a load of laundry. I contacted LG and they had me do a hard reset, power off, hold the power button, plug back in. After establishing the hard reset was probably not going to do anything, they gave me the names of the local businesses which were authorized to work on the machine. Now, I am looking at parts and labor in access of the original purchase price of the machine. If you buy an LG machine, after coming to this website and seeing a 90%+ unsatisfactory rating, then you get you what you deserve. I know I certainly regret not checking some review sites before my purchase.

I do love the French door refrigerator with the exterior water and ice dispenser. I did have difficulty with the exterior coating (called black stainless steel, which it is not) chipping off and had to fight tooth and nail to get anything done because they called it a cosmetic issue. I was not. It kept flaking. It was a defect in the coating. The refrigerator itself has been easy to clean, has multiple shelf options, and I love the wide drawer at the bottom. The freezer also has a top drawer to keep all those smaller things that can get lost in the bottom of a freezer. Also space enough for me to separate my meat from everything else, so I can see quickly what I need to replenish. The ice maker is great! Options to make extra if youre having guests is a great feature and you can switch from cube to crushed.

LG has the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. The ice maker shorted and caused a fire in the freezer. The potential was there to extend into my home and cause major damage. In a nut shell, LG feels that because the fridge is out of warranty they wont do anything about it. After seeing pictures of the damage, they said it wasnt a manufacturers defect and things eventually begin to fail. Please consider another brand if youre buying a fridge. LG couldnt care less about a dangerous event, or working with a customer to resolve an issue.

Updated on 10/03/2019: LG phoned today regarding my review. Since I didnt have a haul away receipt, there was nothing they could do and since I didnt purchase another LG product, they couldnt help with the cost. They dont care about the customer, as they say they do. I spoke to LG many times during the 3 months I was without a refrigerator and asked that they replace the unit or give me a buyout with no response. An Appliance repair company e-mailed them after speaking to a person in the executive services and asked that they contact me regarding a replacement or buyout, but, of course, they never did.Original review: Do not purchase! I spent 3 agonizing months trying to get the compressor replaced. Every time a technician came they said it wasnt the compressor and changed the fan, door magnet, and adjusted the sensitivity in the door light. Finally I had to call another appliance repair company due to the fact that their warranty company is horrible. Then, it took many weeks to get LG to authorize them to do the work. Finally, the technician began to install the compressor that LG sent 3 months prior. LG had sent the wrong compressor for this model. When the correct compressor was installed, it didnt fix the problem. After many calls to LG, they would not replace the refrigerator, nor give me a buyback. My 18 month old refrigerator is now in the dump and I am very happy with my new GE.

Woke Saturday morning to find water on floor (from ice melting in door dispenser), warm fridge and everything melted in freezer. Big mess! Called LG. After playing 20 questions with them, they determined the compressor was bad. Would send replacement parts directly to house in 2-3 days. But the earliest a tech could come out to make the replacement is 2 weeks! Who goes without a fridge for 2 weeks? Not only did we lose all our food, I lost $5000.00 in Humera injection pens that are supposed to be stored in fridge and kept cool. Sure LG will supply their faulty compressor with a new one, (dont know if I have to pay for labor yet) but who pays for all the lost food, loss of expensive medicine, all the mess and all the inconvenience and stress of not having a fridge for 2 weeks? How are not Attorneys General not following up on all these LG customer complaints about faulty compressors? It is NOT RIGHT! We paid a lot of money for this LG fridge. Our previous one, a KitchenAid, was working fine when we replaced it with this fancy new LG fridge. The KitchenAid is still working fine at my sons home in his kitchen. How can Best Buy, Home Depot, and Lowes still be selling these terrible products?

Ive been a fan of LG products for quite some time. Never had any problems with the electronics and appliances Ive bought from them until now. A few days ago, it stopped making ice and the freezer got warm, but the fridge still worked. I called the helpline and the smart diagnosis feature didnt work. I tried all of their troubleshooting tips but nothing worked. I didnt bother getting an extended warranty because of the trust and goodwill LG had earned with me over the years. Now I have to pay 80 dollars just to have a tech look at it, and even if the parts are covered I could be looking at hundreds more for labor. I waited my whole life to get a water/ice dispensing fridge (45 years) but could never afford one. When my old fridge died in 2016, it was at the same time my stepdad gave us 2000 grand as a gift. We used that money to buy this fridge during a Black Friday sale at Lowes. Not even 3 years later its dead and who knows how much it will cost to fix. Ive never been this disappointed since my Xbox 360 died but Microsoft made it right by sending a new console free of charge. I wonder if LG will be willing to do anything to rectify the situation. If not, I will never buy anything from them ever again, and will never stop being critical of their products and services.

I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016.
I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016. Initially I was very pleased with the unit, no problems until late June 2018. The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I was informed after placing a service call that the compressor ceased to work and other updates were needed to the refrigerator. One year later in July 2019 the freezer and refrigerator are again working insufficiently. I have lost a ridiculous amount of food in both the freezer and refrigerator. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. I will not purchase another LG refrigerator again.Jacqueline **

We bought an LG Refrigerator back in 2013 and had problems with it closing properly, since day one. Over time my produce would not stay as fresh, so about a month ago we had it professionally moved to our garage for a backup fridge (to keep drinks cold). Due to it being a much warmer setting it caused my unit to have to work in overdrive to keep it cool. In return causing it to overheat and it stopped cooling the fridge and freezer causing everything in the freezer to spoil. I paid $90 for a technician to come out and he diagnosed it with a bad sealed system (which let me had that the sealed system was a terrible concept). LG said they will warranty the part but I am responsible for the $1,000 labor :( I will never again purchase an LG product for the reason. Poorly made and do not back up their poorly made products!!!

It is a front loader that is energy efficient. It was a reasonable price at the time compared to other washers available. I am not a fan of the upcharge for a color so we ended up with white. I also am not a huge fan of the way the water lines need to be cleaned out. If you dont leave the door wide open, it gets a funky moldy smell. I want it to be within my price range and large enough to do my familys laundry. I prefer name brands with reputations for quality and longevity. Regular repairs would make me flip. The washers are expensive enough as is that I dont need to be spending MORE money to fix it.

Updated on 10/22/2019: My three year old LG refrigerator quit making ice, freezer and fridge broken! Compressor and other parts bad, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. After several weeks, and repairman just deciding to not show up, repair was made and LG paid for all of it, as they should have. Here we are six weeks after repair and freezer no longer making ice and items in freezer thawing. I had asked the repairman if his repair was going to work since I have little faith in anything LG and he told me “probably not because they send the same defective parts.” Well, he was right! I sent a message to LG and I am being ignored. The last repair would have cost me $1600 for a THREE YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR! Now, apparently, they don’t want to stand by the “repair.” I will NEVER buy another LG product. Original Review: My refrigerator is three years old and it wont make ice, freezer and fridge compartment dont work! I have seen all the complaints about this product and will NEVER again by an LG appliance! I have had other brands for years and have not had a problem. A HORRIBLE product, you have been warned!

I called Customer service and was told that it was the fan and needed to be manually defrosted. I had never heard such a thing since the 60s. My parents had a Kenmore refrigerator for 50 years and never once had to manually defrost it. So I did as told and removed everything from the fridge, unplugged it and left it open for 10 hours. I dried the bottom, cleaned it and turned it back on. The noise was gone. Two months later the noise is back. I call customer service back and they tell me its user error, that I am leaving the door open too long or not shutting it correctly. They will send a tech out for $125. So I tell the guy its not user error and he tells me then I need to manually defrost. I tell him I have never heard of such a thing for a fridge in 2021 needing to be defrosted every two months. So ask him, Are you telling me I have to defrost this thing every two months? And he says, Thats not what I said. Yes..Thats what youre telling me. If the tech comes out here for $125 and finds it just needs to be manually defrosted then I will be charged for him to do what Im supposed to do every 2 months!!! So in other words this expensive piece of junk needs to be manually defrosted every two months. Worst purchase I have ever made and worst customer service. Save your money and buy another brand because they do not stand behind their products at all. Now Ill have to buy another fridge and have this carted off as scrap metal because I cant sell it to another person knowing it is defective...Im not LG.

After the first six to ten months of use, I struggled to figure out what I was doing wrong. Very often, the clothing would actually come out smelling worse than when they went in. Lint and dirt particles were left inside the tub, on my clothing and in the laundry basket. This issue increased in degree as the months went by. The LG design places an odd drain tube and plastic filter at the front bottom which requires cleaning periodically. But actually, it is a reservoir for dirty water and also, the filter rarely had much lint or pet hair on it.I am a senior citizen and I never imagined such a design would even exist. The dirt, lint and pet hair rarely reach the filter and just build up in the washer. I have had to remove the plug, replace it with a clamp and open the drain onto the floor after every load. The instructions want you to get on the floor and find a bowl low enough for gravity to fill it, but not spill it when theres more water than will fit in a typical bowl. The washer needs special cleaning very often and the whole process is utterly ridiculous. I have spoken with customer service and my issue was moved up to the manager, but the company has shown no interest in customer satisfaction at all. Having a Kenmore front loader previous to this is like changing from the best to the worst imaginable.

Bought a LG Top loading washing machine WT5270CW and the motherboard failed in 2 1/2 months. The failure caused the washing machine to continue filling up with water and overflowing onto the floor. It flooded out our garage and fortunately was discovered before it flooded the entire home. LG warranty service is horrible. They have you troubleshoot it, so they can save the cost of a repairman coming out. Their LG repairmen never call you nor show up for schedule appointments. LG, themselves, when you question what is going on, admit they dont have the parts on hand to fix it. Come to find out, my parts are on back order for 7-10 days. They further tell you that they have 30 days to fix or replace. In the meantime, I have dirty clothes piled to the roof. Do Not Buy LG! Never so unhappy with a product and company.

Ive now had the 2,800.00 for 5 years. Its always something. The first refrigerator they delivered had to be replaced in 2 days because it would not cool down or freeze. Then the lights in the refrigerator had to be replaced. Now corrosion in the control panel on front of door. The corrosion has now gone up so far you cannot turn the alarm off. Ive called LG several times and if I dont mind paying for a service call they will send someone out to look at it. Wish I had kept my old refrigerator I gave away. Its still working really well. No more LG Appliances for me.

Purchased two LG refrigerators both breaking down same way. Thought the first time was just defect; now after reading blogs and comments just poor manufacturing. On the first unit 1mth after buying, fresh food storage stopped keeping food cold and freezer stopped freezing. After 3 attempts to fix through LG, I refused a fourth try. They refused to exchange. Home Depot absorbed the loss and exchanged the refrigerator, which they didnt have to do. Now 2.5yrs later of course bought LG, like I said 1st time bad luck. Now again refrigerator not cooling, had to throw out food last night and again today and the freezer now not working, of course, warranty expired after first year, and they cant help me. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now Im throwing it away and cant get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing. After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. Thats why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.

We had an LG refrigerator and over-stove microwave. Little things broke, bits of plastic, brackets etc., large annoyance factor. Also freezer at highest setting but does not get lower than 20 degrees (should be zero). Panel above door of microwave broke loose, could not be reset, had to hold it in place with tape. The brackets that hold up drawers for fruit & vegetables broke, we got a replacement, it broke again. This was all in the first year. The things just feel cheap and unreliable. We junked the microwave a year ago. Today, last straw for the fridge. The auto ice maker, over several weeks, was working, then stopped, then started again, then stopped, then started once more -- then went crazy! It would not stop pouring water into the ice tray. Had to cut off water supply. If we hadnt been home at the time and noticed, it would have flooded our kitchen. I have had it. Good Riddance LG!

We bought this washing machine 6 or more months ago. From the first wash it was very disappointing. Dirt, hair and lint seems to be redistributed onto clothes. We contacted LG within a week of buying this top of the range machine. LGs response -- Clean the tub. Since then we have had the same response twice. We will not buy LG ever again. This washing machine seems to wet your clothes and nothing more. DO NOT BUY LG... youll be disappointed. Well be taking this much further. If a toaster doesnt toast, its faulty. I love the brand so I thought it was a much better choice. I like how the refrigerator gives ice and it is great. Love the color and the spacing in the freezer. Love the white color on the inside. And it looks great on my wall. Love how it is built to last and hope it does. But I dont like how much space is taking and there should be more light. It could be much better color. It is not too heavy and love the electrical and it is okay. Could be way better.

About 5 years ago I spent thousands on an LG double door fridge/freezer and the washer/dryer combo. The fridge motor died 2 xmases ago and as they were shut, we lost $4-500 worth of food. Then there was an issue with the washer within 2 yrs., cant remember exactly what. Had that fixed. A few days ago I noticed one of the internal arms inside the washer had come off. I thought it was just a case of hubby screwing it back in. NO. The whole machine has to be taken apart to fix. The other arms are loose too. Its cheaper for us to buy a new washing machine. Its 5 yrs old. Im beyond furious. Never buy LG. Its JUNK.

We have had our refrigerator for less than three years. The compressor quit with no warning at the end of June. I called LG customer service the same day. At first I was impressed because the rep said someone would be out the next day. Great! Nobody came the next day. I called and said the appointment had been changed and they wouldn’t be there for a week. The repairman came and said yes, it’s the compressor and would have to order it. He scheduled the repair for it for a little over a week from then. Totally unacceptable but what can you do. He came as scheduled but had ordered the wrong compressor. He had to order a new one and couldn’t come back until July 24th.This is just ridiculous. We are not college kids needing to cool our beverages. This is a family with many spoiled products and over one month of no refrigerator. I think the company should take the old refrigerator immediately and provide a new one. Or else give our money back so we can get a reliable product from some other company. Will be telling my circle of people never to buy an LG product because they do not have an adequate solution to the problem.

We had a terrible experience with LG Refrigerators. A couple of years ago, we bought an LG fridge. At the time, we liked the style. Then it went out when it was only two years old and wouldnt cool the food. The issue was the compressor, which had a 10-year warranty on it. They put a new one in, but the new one wouldnt work. It took a long time for them to get back in touch with me. They told us that they would send someone over to the property and they would try and fix the fridge, three different times. After the third time, they said they wanted the tech to try some other things and made the tech come back at least two more times. All of it was dragged out. Each time, it took a whole week before they even got over to the property. We had tenants in the property and it took LG a month and a half to finally tell us they couldnt fix it. They gave us a new fridge but by that time, the renters had moved out because they had no fridge. It was a disaster. Plus, they wouldnt give us money for the tenants food loss. They said I either get a fridge or get the loss of food. They wont do both.

My model is an LG top loading washing machine WT4870C. I bought this brand based on a recommendation from Consumer Reports. I like the many options such as water temperature, spin speed, and the quietness of the machine when its working. This machine also has sounds for things such as when the load is finished, and when the drum is unbalanced. Since my washer/dryer space is limited, size is the first consideration. Brand reputation is the second consideration. It can be a hassle to get a repair person at a time that is convenient. If the washer was noisy, that could be a deal breaker. This machine does well when washing heavy loads as well as light loads. Sometimes the estimated time shown on the washer isnt close enough to the actual washing time, so if you are in a hurry, wash later.

I am only submitting review to hopefully help someone who may have gone thru the nightmare I have been thru the past 2 years since I purchased my LG True Balance Ha washing machine. The first year I had this machine I would get a UE Code on the machine occasionally! I would readjust clothes and finally get the machine to spin. It got worse and worse over the next year up until the point I would quit washing clothes and my husband would take over where he would use his level and make sure the tub was level so the clothes would spin. My washer is in the basement so he would get missing for awhile and I knew he was waiting on the washer to spin, because if you dont wait the machine would fill up and try to rebalance its load (what is smart about that). I have called the helpful customer service only to be told it would cost $90 for a service tech!My husband would get frustrated and I would take over and so it went! Today for the first time I washed 4 or 5 loads of clothes without 1 error! Actually it has gotten better over the last month. What did I do? I stopped using commercial liquid soap! I found a recipe on Pinterest. My theory is the soap gums up and throws the computer off. I hope this helps someone who felt as though they we going insane as I was. With all this said I will never buy another LG product as they do not stand behind their products or they would admit this washer is a piece of junk and recall all that was sold.

After reading all the entries in this section, I thought Id let others know that you are not alone. In a nutshell, my LG frig (bottom freezer model LRFC22750SW) had to have the motherboard replaced 3 times in the first 2 years: the lights staying on problem happened twice and one time the light bulbs inside the fridge exploded in my face when I tried to remove them with an oven mitt. The clamps at the top of the doors broke off for no apparent reason. They just fell into my hand one day. The gasket around the fridge doors failed. The icemaker failed. The front dented after barely nudging it. The freezer was blasting frost throughout due to a relay switch going bad. But heres the kicker - there was a class action lawsuit filed due to the lights in the fridge staying on and melting the inside of the fridge. I joined the claim and they advised that my $408 for one of the repairs would be reimbursed. This was over a year ago and I have not received any reimbursement to date. What astonishes me is that some sites say LG refrigerators are in the top 10 of certain lists. I dont understand how this can be true, especially seeing all these complaints on this site. Needless to say, I will never buy another LG and I will never recommend the brand to anyone for any type of device.

While we were impressed with this refrigerator with its Converta drawer and smart styling inside and out, we have been nothing but disappointed in the quality of this product. Extremely disappointed in the product and the customer service. We purchased this fridge in April/11 and it was delivered in June/11. In July/11, the Converta drawer stopped working and as the fridge was under store warranty. It was replaced with a second fridge same model, in Sept/11. Two weeks after delivery, the freezer drawer on this fridge malfunctioned causing it to open and immediately close without remaining open to remove food items. (Freezer drawer opens when a button is pushed). This fridge was returned and in Oct/11, we received our third fridge of this model. Since Oct/11, this fridge is awaiting its fourth compressor, in 2.5 years. We have been without a fully functioning fridge for most of the lifespan of this fridge. Repair people are unfamiliar with the technology in this fridge, however according to the Sears technicians in conjunction with the LG technicians this fridge is repairable. My question is why does this this fridge always require a compressor annually? Fortunately we purchased an extended warranty on this appliance because I am told the replacement cost of the compressor is approximately $1000.00 plus applicable charges, tax, labor, etc. I regret this purchase immensely mostly because when the warranty expires in 1.5 years, this fridge will be in a landfill site somewhere, sadly.

It has two different store options, but it’s a big room. Also, I dont like the smart inverter technology that it has. It turns off a lot more than it’s supposed to, so the temperature goes up and the cycling of the temperature is probably more than it’s supposed to. The refrigerator goes warm inside and the cooling kind of cycles on and off to save energy. But then, it goes too warm before it cuts off to go back to cold.

My husband and I bought this dishwasher last May 2015 NEW with the fridge and stove. This dishwasher is probably the worst dishwasher ever!! Its the model with the 3rd rack, sounds convenient right? Wrong!!! It sucks, yes I can put knives and silverware on the top row but it leaves very little space for your glasses. So any glass taller than 6 inches does not fit!! Which means they have to take up space on the bottom rack or Im forced to hand wash! Now the bottom row... The lines that are suppose to hold the dishes do not stay standing up. The silverware basket is in three sections that is suppose to lock to together, it falls apart if you just put a fork in it. The large bottom rolling basket is constantly coming off the tracks! It takes 2 1/2 hours to run a normal load and an hour to run a quick load. The quick load does do a good job and usually have to rewash items. I hate this dishwasher and the only place it belongs is in the trash dump! WARNING DO NOT BUY IT!!!

Ordered & paid for LG, bottom freezer refrigerator in 2/2014. Delivery was April 1; delivery man lost a part to the doors so didnt close properly. After a LOT of phone calls LG called and delivered a new refrigerator (same model). Two months after use, started whistling. Sounds like the bomb sound effects in old war movies; I timed the whistle... over one minute - each time motor cuts on it whistles. After whistling stops motor runs at an elevated groaning (small aircraft). Called LG for repair (still under warranty); online customer service ignored my request for two months. Finally got a note saying sorry - were having IT issues. They scheduled an appt for a repairman after I called Home Depot (who then called LG). Repairman never showed because the company doesnt service LG unless out of warranty or bought from them (so they told me when I called to find out where they were).Recontacted LG (online chat customer service as it is based in the US) and I keep a transcript of conversations. Week later, awaiting repairman. Refrigerator 5 months old. After reading all comments, I am fearful for the next 7 months. I will not ever buy an LG again purely because their customer service quality is - well I am not suppose to write what I am thinking... How do we stop this company from selling in the US? Who do we complain to? Federal Trade Commission? BBB? Who else?

If I could’ve given this zero stars I would’ve. I bought this LG (Life is Good) top loader washing machine and LG Dryer because my old dryer finally broke after 10 years of usage. My previous washing Machine worked fine but the wife wanted the new LG dryer to match a new LG washing machine. So we bought the set. After maybe 4-5 years I noticed some rust on the inside of the body of the washer. Well that rust spot got bigger and more rust spots began to pop up. After many failed attempts with LG customer service and their service technician in my area the end results were that they would not repair or replace the washer. It is considered a cosmetic issue. The rust has dropped into the washer with the clean clothes defeating the purpose of cleaning the clothes. It now has become a hassle pulling the so called clean clothes out of the washer without touching the sides or the top because it’s all rusty. I’ve sent LG pictures of the rust at their request with no response. During the time of purchase we also bought other LG appliances. I’ve had problems with their microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. My older appliances I had that were much less expensive outlasted the very expensive LG CRAP I bought. Don’t buy LG!!

The features and other pieces of this dryer are impressive. However, something as simple as a poorly fitting lint screen has made the machine a nightmare. Although I replaced the lint screen at least twice with the LG specified type, and tried any number of machinations, approx. 75% of the loads end up with a piece of laundry catching the right side (facing the machine) of the lint screen and the entire load (or a large part of it) getting tangled in a knot. The longer the dryer runs, the worse the tangle, and the more damage is done to clothing. So the choices are to watch the load run the entire time or resign yourself to tangles and throwing damaged clothes away. Product Services at the company has not responded to my complaints, hence this review.

When we purchased the WT5101HW Washing machine we did so because my Maytag Neptune machine (Which contributed to Maytag going bankrupt) had to be replaced. I had thought LG would be a great experience, I was wrong. Initially the machine worked well and was efficient as expected, however that did not last. My wife noted that the clothes would smell musty and the machine took a long time to finish. We cleaned the machine monthly and left the lid up when not in use and put up with the lackluster performance. Last year things became decidedly worse when frequent UE errors began to appear and the machine would fill with water to almost the top. When I contacted LG an appointment was set for a technician to repair the machine. The first visit was a software update. No effect. The 2nd visit the Stator Assembly and Rotor Assembly were replaced. No effect. The third visit the Housing Assembly, Clutch Coupling, Stator Assembly, Rotor Assembly and Pulsator Assembly were replaced. Issues persists. The fourth visit the PCB Assembly, Display was replaced at which point the service rep indicated that just about everything replaceable was replaced. The machine appeared to work ok for a short while, however still using excess quantities of water and sounding like a helicopter landing when in spin cycle. The UE errors persist. We lived with this a while and then my wife mentioned our water bill has about tripled ever since the repairs. On contacting LG again I was told they would be happy to send at our cost a service technician and that the machine was now too far out of warranty for any other recourse. The original issue was never resolved and persists.I can no longer in good conscience recommend any LG Washing Machine. I have multiple short videos on my phone of the machine filling with water in attempt to balance and with the UE flashing in the background. There is no True balance as advertised and if high efficiency means using more water and being prone to developing black mold then the machine is highly efficient, just not in cleaning, conserving water or energy.

Basically I was being silenced. I have an LG refrigerator that is faulty & is still under warranty. I have tried every which way for LG to honour that warranty & they in return have have tried every which way dishonor it. Very stressful & disappointing to say the least.

I have had four repairmen come out to work on this refrigerator. It has had a new computer board and compressor installed---and STILL does not cool like a refrigerator should. After the most recent install of those components, the LED light stopped working in the refrigerator. I started to look for the part to replace it--but did a diagnostic test on the refrigerator. Sure enough, the light came on again? A day later, the light went off. Did another diagnostic reset, and the light works again. Long story short, this refrigerator has become a nuisance. It is supposed to be a NEWER refrigerator that simply WORKS. It is supposed to keep your food cold. It is supposed to not be a hassle. LG has a long way to go when it comes to making a solid nuts and bolts refrigerator. If you buy an LG refrigerator, be sure to have a second one on hand in case your food spoils.

Do not buy any LG products. Worst customer service ever. Lowe’s is awesome but LG is horrible. Delivered oven with missing enamel inside oven. Claimed Lowe’s did it then me when LG discovered it was inside oven and Lowe’s delivered out of box. In the end after more than 14 hours of phone calls to LG when I was lied to, calls not returned and multiple hang ups by their associates, they texted me their rejection to replace. Lowe’s replaced at their cost. Lowe’s gear place but stay away from LG all products. Yes.

Purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator less than 2 years ago. Started to notice freezer was not keeping things frozen. Call LG, do the diagnostic where you hold the phone up to the appliance (crazy and doubt it works). They agree to send a tech. Wait a week to get on the schedule. Tech from Mr. Appliance comes out and says compressor, coil and evaporator are bad. We need to turn it off and wait for parts. Parts take another 2 weeks. Tech was here today and replaced all three parts. It took him 3 hours. When he went to start it up, no go. Turns out the heater in the evaporator is bad and blew out the main board. So now both need to be replace. Spent an hour on the phone with LG. First level is outsourced overseas and customer service reps do not speak good English. They follow a script. Begged to talk to a supervisor. Waited 30 minutes for supervisor to take the call. Spoke to Neil and Willie and they did nothing. Told us they couldnt escalate higher. As long as they deem the appliance repairable we have to wait for the new parts to be delivered and then schedule another tech visit by Mr. Appliance. Absolutely NO customer service. They could care less that we have been without a refrigerator for over 3 weeks, 2 days from Thanksgiving. Its very disappointing to hear them say Life is Good and we dont want you to be inconvenienced while on hold. And then when you speak to someone, you get zero assistance or customer service. We will NEVER buy another LG product. We bought a lemon which I get sometimes happens. But the reason we wont buy from LG again is their complete lack of customer service. Totally disappointed in how we were treated.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator and an LG over the stove microwave a few years ago. I think 6 years ago. I had been very pleased until a year ago when the ice maker quit working and then shortly after the door handle on the microwave broke. Both parts can be purchased to repair, but seriously? They were not inexpensive appliances, yet they were not made to last longer than 5 years without having to buy replacement parts? Im sick and tired of stuff that doesnt last anymore. My mother used the same toaster for 50 years!!! Wheres the integrity and pride in a job well done? No, I wont purchase LG again.

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. In TEARS, can someone help me please?

Not heating or cooling on a 3.5 year old $3,000 refrigerator. I bought the now discontinued LG LFXS29766S refrigerator in August of 2015. It looks like new and has had no problems until last week on a Tuesday when I realized it had stopped cooling and making ice. I called the store I purchased from and was told that I had luckily bought a 60 month extended warranty, but I had to call them to get service. I called and the first time they could get to me was going to be Friday, then the following Tuesday! After speaking with their service person she said that in experience because of the model, a sealed system would have to be ordered and once it arrived they could schedule an appointment. With the caveat that LG can take 3-7 days to even ship the system. So I could most likely be without a refrigerator for 2-3 weeks...WHAT???I really cannot believe that after paying that price for a top of the line fridge that one has to wait 2-3 weeks and in calling local repairmen- NO-one stocks these parts and many do not want to even work on LG. I am hoping that my parts arrive this week and that hopefully it works, reading other reviews for the same problem I am not feeling like I will ever buy an LG product again. My last question to all 5 of the repairmen I called was what they would buy, that lasted the longest, can be fixed and repaired in a timely manner. Their answers were Frigidaire, Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid. Hopefully this system will last at least another 4-5 years and then I will be buying one of those brands. To top it off I suspect this was a lemon design from the beginning as it has been discontinued. Sigh.

After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!

I purchased an LG top load washer in the summer of 2014. This machine has been the cause of so many headaches and so much frustration. My daughter texts me every time she uses the machine to tell me how much she hates it. I have had the technician to the house three times in the past year and a half. They have replaced the motherboard, motor, rotor, power cord and on and on... and it still does not work. It gives UE, OE and IE messages with every load. I have read the manual. Made sure everything was level, all water filters are clean and clear of debris and have researched these problems on the Internet. There is no solution. The machine is a lemon, a piece of junk. It has been since Day 1. It is the single biggest waste of money in the 20 years I have owned a home! LG has permanently lost this customer FOR LIFE! If I could leave zero stars, I would.

This is long, lots to cover. When our old fridge died over Memorial Day Wee
This is long, lots to cover. When our old fridge died over Memorial Day Weekend in 2015, we were rushed to replace it --- and have regretted that ever since. We purchased an LG French door fridge at a major retailer, with just the one day to do research (because, our old one had died and wed already lost a couple hundred dollars in perishable food and had kids to feed). The linear compressor promised to be quiet, efficient, and durable - the literature boasts that an officially proven 20-year-durable lifespan realizes your peace-of-mind.At first, it was great - because it was new. Just ten months in, however, we began having problems as the fridge developed a clicking sound when the fan (compressor?) kicked on, and then a couple weeks later got an error code on the panel and the fridge stopped cooling. We lost another fridge full of groceries, and called LG for repair. It was well under warranty, being just one year old.The technician they dispatched called us before showing up, and told us this is a common problem - and that we have to defrost our frost-less new fridge when we hear that clicking because it means ice is building up inside on the fan. OK... So we did that, and the fridge began working again (this is in May/June 2016). Then, like clockwork yearly, we would hear the clicking and do the overnight defrost (2017, and 2018).So again it began clicking again in early July 2019, and we got ready to do the same thing - except instead, the fridge just quit working entirely on July 9th 2019 while we were at work and we came home to a flooded kitchen (from the melted ice) and once again, had to toss a fridge full of perishable foods (second time with this fridge). We unplugged it and left it overnight to defrost, as before, and plugged it back in on the 10th (empty). Left it for the day while at work, and when we came home the inside of the fridge was over 70*, clearly not cooling, but no errors on the panel, so I called LG for service on July 11th. This begins the worst customer service experience I have ever had with any manufacturer.July 11th: talked to condescending service rep who eventually agreed that we needed a service call. Scheduled it for July 16th (earliest available), and gave me a confirmation number which I read back. I arranged to take a half-day off work to be home for the 8-12 hour window. He says that luckily Im still within the 5-year warranty; I tell him my paperwork says it is 7 years warranty. He updates my account... Then assures me that the parts are covered under the warranty and I will only have to pay the labor for the service call.July 16th: at 11am, I called LG to check the ETA of the tech so I could update my office on when I would be in. Was told that my tech had just finished a call in a town 15 minutes from me, and that I was next on his list. At 12:15 still no tech, so I called back --- and was told that my service was completed. Spent quite a bit of time on the phone to learn that the confirmation number I was given was for someone else, and that I had no service call scheduled after all. I was quite angry, as Id stayed home for this and had been without a fridge for a week already. The person I spoke to said she was in the escalation department and she promised to call me within an hour with a resolution to get my fridge fixed, that her supervisors assured her it would be done that day.At 1:40 I called back (because, surprise - no call from LG and no tech) even angrier because I was no closer to a working fridge AND now Id lost a full day of work without pay. Im not allowed to talk to the same person I spoke to at 12:15, because she is helping other customers... Am told there is no way they can fix my fridge today but they will dispatch my call to an authorized service repair center, who would schedule a new service date. An hour later I get a call from said service repair center ---- who informed me that they dont service my area because they are in a different STATE. Yep, that last LG rep sent to the wrong repair center. So I call LG again (4th time this day), and this time Im told that I have to wait for the system to call me to schedule something, but that would be either today or tomorrow. Its 3:30 at this point. The rep cant help any further. Next day, by 4pm, still no call so I phone LG again. This rep tells me it can take 3-5 days for the system to call me to schedule something.... Each time I call, Im given a different scenario, none of which are getting my fridge fixed. The next day (July 18th), I get an email cancelling my appointment - which I havent been able to make so I dont know what this is for. July 19th: I call again because still nothing and its been ten days since my fridge broke. This rep is able to schedule a service call (what happened to the system??), and we set it for July 24th, next available day.July 23rd: given the absurd hassle Ive had to deal with to get this fridge fixed, I call in to confirm my appointment for the next day because I cant lose yet another day from work and have no tech show up. Am told parts were ordered on the 19th (which parts? the ones that always break, that fancy compressor that is supposed to be so great and durable but only lasted four years). This time the rep tells me that they have extended a courtesy warranty to cover the labor in addition to the parts, and that they received a couple of complaints. I have talked to 8 different LG customer service reps by this time, expressing many complaints from me on this whole fiasco, especially against that first rep who didnt bother to schedule a tech at all and cost me a days wages. The rep also said a grocery reimbursement would be sent in a couple of weeks for the inconvenience. This is the first Ive heard about this option.July 24th: my fridge is finally fixed, with a new compressor. The tech did not charge us for the visit, so at least that part LG honored. Fifteen days to get the fridge fixed, replacing a part that was the big selling point, four years and two months after we bought it. We lost tons of perishable food from the fridge and freezer (it holds a lot!), and two full days of work without pay. For two weeks weve had to eat out/eat convenience food because a picnic cooler just doesnt work that well to hold perishable foods that long, and its the middle of summer; it is an expensive way to eat! Now we wait for whatever grocery reimbursement they deem sufficient to compensate us, and count the days until the fridge breaks again, hoping it is still under warranty when it does. I dont trust this fridge at all. But we paid $3k for it, and cant afford to replace it yet. The environmental impact of manufacturers building appliances that fail after just a few years has got to be enormous and I wish there were lemon law type of things we consumers could count on for better durability.

Bought Sears Kenmore Model 795*77319600 (During troubleshooting I discovered this unit was made by LG for Sears!) in Oct 2007. Sequence of failure(s): 1st) Nov 2007 Upper freezer drawer basket rail bracket tabs crack - I used nylon zip ties to hold basket in place. 2nd) Apr 2008: Lower freezer drawer bin divider cracked at top edge. - Lived with defect, hoping it would hold. Repaired crack by splicing it with a plastic reinforcement plate in Aug 2014. 3rd) June 2010: Refrigerator lights fail, no plastic melted, nor food spoilage - I researched and found numerous similar customer complaints and LG recommended fix. I removed light cover lens, and both light bulbs, and used fridge w/o light! 4th) July 2014: Freezer no longer makes ice, progressively temperature gets warmer, then refrigerator starts to stay warm - Decided not to involve Sears Customer Service for repair, but rather do it myself. $1200 fridge/freezer should not die @ 7 years! I did some research, found a similar model service manual online, did some troubleshooting of the cooling/freezing system - sensor(s), and defrost timer. Found R134a to be too low. Fixed it myself for $35. Maybe I can get 7 more years @ $5 per year out of this LG piece of junk! I sympathize with my fellow Americans. Consumer trust has declined due to cheap poorly designed products... Whats the reason? Greed, Lack of Pride, Lack of Accountability. Make junk so we can buy more sooner? What would our ancestors think?

When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

Bought a LP1111WXR at Home Depot. Could not get the unit to work. Called LG and they arranged for a service call. At no time did the customer service rep at LG Corporate ask for or require documentation, they advised that with the serial number they had the information they needed. LG customer service arranged for the 3rd party technician to repair the A/C unit. The tech arrived and confirmed that 99% of the unit functioned properly, except the canister holding the coolant had left the overseas LG factory either a.) without being filled, or b.) with the canister seal improperly properly fit (all coolant leaked out), or c.) with a cracked or defective canister (all coolant leaked out). The technician was set to repair, and then asked for the authorization number I had been provided by LG customer service. The senior advisor at customer service had never provided an authorization number. I advised the tech that LG arranged for the service call. He checked his notes and confirmed that LG Corporate had in fact arranged for the service call....but, nonetheless, he still needed an authorization # (which I was not provided). When I called back LG they gave me the runaround for about 1-hour transferring calls, on hold, etc... The supervisors whom I spoke to where now nasty, and horrible. They advised that it was my fault for not having the authorization number, and would not help in anyway. I now know, firsthand why and how LG sells their electronics at such a great price. Their customer service is awful, misrepresents, and when their product is discovered to be defective, they will not fix it.Worst customer experience Ive ever had - dont buy LG. We did not open the box until today march 27 2015 and found that the door of the oven got one hinge loose... that mean the door is only connected to stove by one hinge and the other side is hanging when open. And there is a big dent on the stove... We rushed back to Frys in the city of industry to exchange it or return it... but we were told they wont accept our return or exchange. The return department at frys gave us the number 1800 243 0000 to contact LG to settle the problem... so we called LG and the LG operator told us that there is nothing they can do. I felt like it is not fair to us. We paid for a brand new oven and got a defective one and no one seemed to be willing take a responsibility for that. We are stuck with a defective stove. The service was very bad. We were actually told by the manager step out of my store, the exit is that way! twice. We would like them to exchange the oven or refund my money.. I found plastic pieces in cleanout. I contacted LG, who referred me to A&E Factory Service (nationwide). I called and they returned my call on a Monday. I then made appointment for Thursday. They called that day sick, so I had to make another appointment a week later (earliest and now 10 days after speaking with them). I called LG, who referred me to a local company. They came out the following Monday (now over one week). They turned the washer on and said the lifetime warranty stainless steel drum is warped. I said it is hard to bend them, so was it an original problem? They said it caused damage to seal. After paying them for diagnostic trip, he said I have to pay for all labor and any other part, except wash drum. Okay, he approved using washer if I was okay with small leaking. Appointment was set for three days later. I used the washer and it turned into a gusher. He came back that evening and said that drum ripped front gasket. He will pay for that. Meantime, I called LG. They said that drum suddenly becoming warped is not likely, but it could happen. I said it has been this way since we had it. It has always been loud and it vibrated more than our old Maytag but we had to leave it at the old house on sale of house. They said they will cover drum, but nothing else. Tech came out on Thursday (this past) and opened up washer. (Finally, he actually opened to look at all of it.) The drum was so warped that it cut open (gouged) a hole in the outer plastic drum (front section). It had a circular gouge around the almost complete perimeter. He told me that part is no longer available because washer was over 7 years old. It was made in 2005 and I bought in 2006. He told me to buy a new washer. After he left, I called LG who said that part can be bought as an aftermarket part but they do not make the original part anymore. Swell. They gave me names of two parts suppliers. Part is $100 but has to be mailed at an oversize part ($50). I called service company to tell them it is available. They called and placed an order. On Friday, next day, part still was not shipped to them. I cancelled service (now estimated to be over $400) and bought a new Whirlpool set. LG refused to take ownership of problem that was caused by a lifetime part and they admitted that it was likely like that from beginning, but would not say 100%. Theyre out. They told me I should have noticed something not right, even though I had Best Buy out two times. I called Best Buy and they told me their service is a plan not a warranty. If there was a lifetime warranty issue, they would have had LG fix it, not them. Now my problem went on for two weeks with no conclusion, other than me cancelling service and throwing that piece of junk out. The company I called recommended the Whirlpool because it is US made. They said the biggest problem with LG is that it is all Korean or Chinese made and parts are difficult to come by. No kidding. Manufacturer is only obligated for 7 years per them and LG. If you want your machine to last more than 7 years and you paid big bucks for it, look for something other than LG. They will not back up their products in any way feasible. I understand warranties but when a lifetime-warrantied product is the culprit of a major problem, dont blame the customer for not knowing it was an issue, even though a service tech they recommend doesnt catch it either.

LG True Balance HE Top Loader Model # WT487OC - Unless I wash a lg load mach will become unbalanced. A slight shift in weight will cause this. Not sure the purpose of this feature use to the mach would vibrate really loud if load was unbalanced. Now it will not even finish the cycle. Beware!

LG 5070CW washer - wash cycle temps are way low compared to info LG provided - Cold is suppose to be 66 degrees, ours runs 50 - Hot is suppose to be 120 degrees, ours runs 75. Called LG and they said it was because it was a top fill washer, and that I needed to use some of the specialized cycles to get hotter temps - basically makes half of the cycle choices not usable. The manual doesnt mention anything about this issue. LG supervisor said they are looking into some typos in the manual to help with this issue. I spent $800+ on this washer and feel that we were duped. LG doesnt seem to care at all about the errors in their manual.

We purchased our LG Refrigerator in October 2016. It is a French door with dual ice makers. We did love it but like so many others... our compressor broke and our food was ruined. No small expense. Because there is such a demand for replacement compressors I was told there was a back order on them and it took 10 days to get it fixed. Additionally, we cannot get the right fruit/vegetable bin (when facing the refrigerator) out to clean it without breaking it. The gentleman who repaired did get it out and broke it in the process. If anyone would care to shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it. I did read the manual and when you follow the directions, it jams against the door. Also, there in a clear plastic easy access door inside the main french door that catches and pulls open each time you open the main door. Our solution to this was to tape it shut. Lastly, the handle has a button to push to open to access milk and other beverages and apparently it is painted plastic not stainless steel like the rest of the handle because the paint wore off the first year... Looks pretty bad for a high end fridge.

I have a beautiful black SS French door refrigerator (LFXS30766D) that I simply love, or did love. IT IS BROKEN. The compressor has gone out. It has been two weeks already and Warrantech says it should not take more than a MONTH to get it fixed. I wish I had seen all of these complaints about the compressors going out on the LGs before I bought it. We are getting the run around. Lots of spoiled food, a lot of waste. Why dont they make good products anymore? This fridge was made in 2015 Nov and I have had it for only a year and a half.
