Bought a supposedly top of the line washer dryer LG Tromm set in 2006. Washer broke down, as it was out of warranty, paid for diagnostic repair from company referred by LG and was quoted more than $1000.00, so decided to buy a newer LG washer model only to find out that installers wont install as the newer models stacking kits will not match the older models. LG has a lot of discontinued products, one of them is this WM2277HS. Parts are not even available. So when one breaks down, it is not repairable, and instead of just replacing just one appliance, you have to buy both the washer and dryer even if the other one is not broken, as none of the current models will match with the older appliance, specially the stackable models. Customer service is very poor, no one seems to know anything. So I suppose, LG in a way make their products not last long enough and then will not have parts available, or repairs will cost more than a new machine.
Horrendous Experience! On 7/13 I reported that twenty expensive Brooks Brothers non-iron shirts were destroyed due to the fault of the lint filter of this dryer. The shape of the filter was not manufactured properly and did not remain in place. As a result, pockets, sleeves, button holes and collars of twenty shirts in a load were ruined. I immediately contacted LG customer service and spoke to someone about this event. They offered to mail a new lint catch and then said that I would have to complete a full report of the incident. A follow up email arrived to me with a claim form that I submitted on 7/20.I completed the form in full and also took detailed photos of every shirt and the damage caused. I had heard nothing back at all for two months until on 9/3 when I began to submit daily written complaints via the LG website complaint portal. Finally on 10/5, another representative contacted me via e-mail and asked me to once again forward my claim for and all of the photos of the damage. After review, the representative said that the most they would offer was a reimbursement of $250.00. I sent examples of the current value from the Brooks Brothers website, segregated the shirts for physical inspection and was informed that I would need the original receipt for each one in order for the reimbursement to be reconsidered.A collection of twenty shirts bought over a series of time that were not defective prior to their placement in this dryer would have had no reason to have receipts available. I offered to have them viewed in person and made between 3-4 photos of each shirt as described, showing their tags and damage! Brooks Brothers shirts are quality and time tested to last because they are made properly; quite unlike this dryer! I have yet to get any response to my dissatisfaction for this companys resolution. I did, however, receive this e-mail from 12/21 that had the gall to offer me $500.00 for having completed this survey. My loss of value due to the shirt damage was in excess of $2800.00!! This company has a terrible amount of nerve and complete lack of concern for the customer experience as a whole. This dryer is an abomination and I am sorry that I ever decided to purchase it. Your company should be ashamed of itself for all of the aggravation that I have been put through for this incident...never mind the financial loss!
LG makes it difficult for repairmen to buy parts. This forces you to use their customer service. I understand the rationale in this, it can help the company ensure the machine gets fixed by an LG approved repairman. Having said this, the LG customer service is based in the Philippines. I dont blame the workers there who are trying their best, however, their training and product knowledge is so limited they are unable to think rationally about a course of action for my problem. I cant prove this, but it seemed that my calls with questions about my LG washer-dryer (which broke 5 times in 2 years) prompted the service centre to consult a script instead of thinking and answering. I wondered this because their answers did not address my question. Based on the other reviews Ive read, this will be my first and last purchase of any LG product. It seems they are designed to be attractively cheap, but break easily, then have poor service to correct the problems. I will never endorse this company to any colleagues.
Error message read - ER/1F on our LG refrigerator (model LFX31925ST) exactly 1 year and 1 month (1 year warranty) after we purchased it. We unplugged unit, then plugged it back in and the message went away. Freezer food was slightly thawing and ice maker wouldnt work. Everything would be fine for a couple months, then same ordeal. 2 years after purchase, we were issued a one time extended courtesy warranty and our local repairman replaced the grill assembly fan. Now we have an annoying, vibrating, noise. We just cant win with this poor purchase ($2200). WILL NEVER RECOMMEND AN LG REFRIGERATOR. We are currently registered in the class action suit.
To: The Manufacturers of Over-The-Range Microwaves. PLEASE, downsize. They keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger, to the point where I have to replace my beautiful expensive cabinets in order to accommodate the darn microwave. And from what Ive read on the internet, I am not the only one. It definitely looks like there is market for them that is NOT being fulfilled. Can one of the manufacturers please step up to the plate on this? Why is it that I can find a counter top microwave that is only 10-14 high, but when I look for an OTR its 16 and up.
I bought my LG Electric range just over a year ago. We knew the front knobs were very sensitive but didnt realize how bad until it my husband was cleaning the kitchen, set the Ninja on the stovetop while cleaning the island. Seems he leaned against the knobs and 2 turned on. He went out to empty the trash and by the time he got back in, we had fire. Both Ninja and Range were burned beyond repair. Our new backsplash will have to be repaired. Well need to repaint some. But no one was hurt. No pets hurt. I immediately, naively wrote to the President of LG. Nothing. Tried again a couple days later. I did receive a phone call from a Sheena Turner in Alabama with the title of President Liaison/Voice of Customer. She said she could send someone out but needed the serial #. Theres NO SERIAL NUMBER on the range. Isnt that convenient? Both my husband and I have gone over the range several times. Ive taken pictures and sent to her to prove theres no serial number. Thats when she stopped communicating. So, oh well. She cant help. So like the rest of their customers with this problem, Im just screwed and they dont care. Then I visited Consumer Affairs to see if we were the only ones with this problem. Apparently allot of us have the same problem. So I sat down, copied and pasted to Word every review that pertained to the knobs, back 4 years, 52 bad/frustrated reviews. Ive printed out and will write a letter to Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy and The Consumer Product Safety Commission with copies of the 16 pages of reviews I have. This will be sent USPS certified mail to each with return receipt to make sure each received.I want to be sure each of the retail stores know they are selling dangerous products and the CPSC surely needs to take a look at this. Maybe nothing will come of it, but these stores need to be put on notice and when something bad does finally happen and sadly it will. contact me. Ill have proof they were notified. For me, Im tossing the range. I wont have it in my house and its damaged anyway. My last email to Ms. Sheena (she hasnt returned an email since I told her I cant find a serial number on my range). How are you going to feel when someone dies in a fire caused by an LG range. You work for this company. Are you going to be able to look yourself in the mirror? No response. Here are pictures of my Ninja and Range after the fire.
The lint cover protrude into the dryer instead of sitting flush. This protrusion causes the damage to my clothes and can also cause the additional buildup of lint. Which is a fire hazard. Very unhappy! After reading a ton of reviews sounds like I am not the only unhappy customer.
This LG manufacturer has to be the worst experience of customer service I have ever had in my life. I have been trying to contact customer service, the supervisor of LG and all they kept doing is lying to me and promised me a courtesy refrigerator bin and told me I would get a call from the supervisor. In 3 days they havent called. I called them back and told them what happened. They gave me confirmation numbers 3 times and kept me on hold for 40 minutes just to get through a supervisor, the customer service agent told me she will just email me a order # to my email. I checked my email and there is no email from LG. I called again and told me, We cannot send you the bin cause your warranty expired. There you go more lies from LG.Thats after they told me they had no problem sending me one courtesy bin to my home. Still nothing. They wasted my time on the phone and lying to me. Some of their product are cheap. They are plastic and break so easily and are very fragile. They treat their customers bad and they really dont care from the way their employees treat the consumers. From my experience do not buy from LG. They treat you horribly and they lie to their customers. They are people you wouldnt want to do service with and they need to improve their products. I am serious!!! Stay away from my horrible experience with LG!
The dishwasher is very quiet and washes well but takes a long time to go through the cycle. There are numerous cycles to choose from. A screen at the bottom of the DW is easily removed to dispose of food particles.
The brand new LG French Door fridge did not work right as soon as it was delivered. The next day, a service tech came and said, you have a bad circuit board and it will take 3 weeks to fix it. I am fighting Sears for a solution. Dont buy LG!
30 days and still no LG refrigerator. They sent a compressor thats not a direct swap so the companion parts need to be changed but LG sent the wrong parts twice. LG support supplied the part numbers but they were wrong, twice. Good thing we have a little bar fridge or Id just have to buy a new one.
Our fridge failed completely after just over a year. While LGs customer service has been polite and pleasant, they have done nothing to help. We are now without a working fridge for a week so far, with no end in sight. Weve already had one no-show repair appointment, followed by me calling twice a day for the remainder of the week. Despite an escalation to a manager, I still received nothing but empty promises. I finally convinced a customer service rep to just give me the contact info for the authorized technician and guess what - it will be almost another week before they can get out.Further escalation to the Executive Service team has been no better, with them finding a closer-in appointment and then having it disappear from the system seconds later. I am now waiting for a call back, in which I fully expect to be told sorry very nicely and expect nothing to be done. I would like a refund at this point, Ill take my $3000 and buy a better made fridge from someone else.
We purchased the French door/bottom freezer unit for $3000.00 (model LFXC24726S). Upon plugging it in, it seemed to be cooling down, although the ice maker was not working. We reported this on 2/19/15. At that time it seemed that the unit on the whole was cold enough to stock with food. The fancy door temperature reading reported that the freezer was at 0 degrees and the refrigerator was at 37 degrees. NOT THE SITUATION!! The next morning everything that we put in the freezer was totally soft. By that afternoon we were sure that the refrigerator section was nowhere close to 37 degrees. We spoke to LG service repeatedly and although we were told that we would have service on Monday morning, we waited all day and finally a service tech came at 5 pm. He diagnosed that the unit would need a new mother board and would be back the next morning. We again waited all day and at 7 pm he returned with another service tech. At 9:30 pm they said that they believed that all problems had been solved. The next morning the tech called to ask if everything was working properly. Nice of him to call, but in fact, the unit was totally warm; although the temperature reading on the door still reported that the freezer was 0 degrees and the refrigerator was 37 degrees. So much for the reliability of this fancy technology. It is now 5 working days later and we are told by the executive team at LG that this refrigerator will not be replaced until everything has been tried to repair it. The compressor that the tech is now saying would be the next thing to try is on back order and it will be at least another week until that is available. Until LG has tried to replace every part and rebuild this unit they will keep us waiting. Thanks a lot. We want everyone to consider this situation before you decide to buy an LG product.
I bought an LG microwave model # LMS1271SS less than 2 years ago. The Magnetron crabbed out and now I’m planning to buy a Panasonic. Just ** LG products! Never buy another LG product again!
I purchased this machine for 962$ 3 years ago and it is the worst washing machine Ive ever owned. It is locked up now with a load of clothes in it and the electronics are completely dead. It will not respond to any reset even though it has power. They want to send a technician to the house at my expense. I dont want to invest any more money into this machine because even when it was working it was a lousy machine. I will never buy another LG product. I will advise all of my friends of this experience. I just wish I had visited the online reviews and read about other peoples experiences with LG before my purchase. They have a very poor reputation.
We purchased our first LG Dishwasher in September of 2018. Within a few months it quit working. Had a repair company come out and replace the control panel. The repairman told us that these Dishwashers are known for bad control panels, because they get wet... What? Its a Dishwasher, of course it gets wet. Here we are again less than 2 years old and wont power on again, obviously another control panel. We are out of warranty and out of luck! Horrible.
Have owned three LG refrigerators, all ended up throwing away after multiple repairs. All came in new, but either began leaking (first two) or not cooling (compressor) right after warranty expired. It cost a lot of money and time to deal with the headache. No more LG!
We have had our LG Microwave for about 2 years, but today it started on fire when I went to re-heat up two slices of pre-cooked bacon. Pretty much as soon as it started, the right side wall started on fire! We opened the door and unplugged it. We are very disappointed with the quality of this microwave, model LMC0975ST. We have purchased two LG refrigerators for homes, two LG televisions and they have all been great, but not the LG microwave. I know this is a new technology, Smart Inverter, LG has claimed to put into these microwaves, so I can only speculate as to whether or not this had anything to do with the fire.
I love the LG refrigerators. They are stainless steel, lots of shelving, space is plentiful, and can adjust temperatures for different parts (sliding drawers/fruits/vegetables/etc). One day, I hope to purchase the latest series.
Our LG fridge is about 5 years old and it has died. I can understand that things can go wrong but the customer service at LG is terrible. They are extremely rude! We have had to take two days off work and it still isnt fixed. We were told the freon leaked out and the company had to address this problem. We spoke to several people at customer service and they were nasty. We have been without a fridge for two weeks and there is no end in sight. We are starting from scratch and have to be home between 10-2 tomorrow for a second service person to come out. They arent going to fix it! Just look at it! So we will likely have to take a third day off work if we are lucky enough to get anyone out to actually fix it. My husband was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The tumor is causing lots of pain. Ice packs help a bit but of course we have no way to keep them cold. This has been a real hardship! I would never buy another LG product. They have no respect for their customers and do not stand behind their products.
We have had ours for almost a year. These LG stoves that have knobs on the front seem like a great idea. EXCEPT when you cook and bump into these stoves, the buttons turn on. We have had two near fires in kitchen had someone NOT been home and these knobs got bumped before we left we would have come home to a major house fire. We have tracked the knobs for 5 months since the first two incidences and today after last night, I am junking this new oven and buying a safer one-too dangerous to give away. NO it wont be an LG. I have read that they dont do much in fixing the problems. But I will contact where I purchased the stove and let them know of the dangerous stove they are selling.
Purchased a matching LG washer and dryer (Front load washer model WM3670HVA) including pedestal bases for both from JCPenney in July of 2017. All was well until; Dec. 7 when we heard a loud banging noise coming from our laundry room. The washing machine drum was hitting the back and front of the washer so violently that I thought it would break the door. I immediately shut down the washer and rebalance the load. The same thing happened when I restarted the washer. Every time the machine went into the spin cycle the drum would hit the front and back of the machine with such force that we thought it would crack the door. The load in question was towels and wash cloths. After we removed the towels we tried it with a lighter load, tee shirts and underwear, same thing happened again on the spin cycle.I called LG and reported the problem that day. They stated they would have their service vendor call me. Never received a call. Four days later I call again and get the same answer. Still no call. Called JCPenney to report the problem and they tried calling LG with no luck. The appliance manager told me that LG service actually hung up on her. Today is 12/18 and I placed my third or fourth phone call to LG. Guess what, I get the same answer stay by the phone someone will call. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she repeats what each of the service reps said, Youll get a call from the center tomorrow. Twelve days and I have a broken down washing machine and still no call from LG warranty service. Never again will I buy an LG product if this is the way they handle their warranties. What are my options???Updated on 03/17/2018: Today is March 17, 2018 and LG warranty service still has not repaired the washer described below. My advice to any consumer thinking of buying a LG appliance is DONT. If you dont believe this review simply read all the other reviews that have been submitted and you will be educated to the fact that when needed, LG Service and their warranties may not be there for you. In my opinion they are the worse of the worst. I am 76 years old and the process of seeking warranty support from LG has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Yesterday I spoke to LG for about the 15th time and they outright lied to me again saying they finally had a repair service to look at the washer. I immediately call the repair service and they tell me that they did not accept the work order and LG does this to them all the time. Shame on LG when they wont help consumers get what they are entitled to. Tells you something about their product and their Corporate attitudes. Ill keep fighting with LG but future consumers should heed the warning BUYER BEWARE.
This is a 5 months old washer. Its been noisy since week one. Lowes installers couldnt completely fix it. Lately, it is been excessively noisy and vibrating during its spinning, even at low speeds. LG support is very nice at talking. However, they dont actually send any information.
Two weeks after installing our beautiful new oven in our beautifully remodeled kitchen, we had a graduation party for my son. As I was going to bed that night, the smoke alarms started blaring. The house was filled with black smoke. To make a long story short, my nephew bumped one of the knobs and started a plastic container on fire. All he did was bump the knob and started a fire that easily. Major design flaw. This oven is very dangerous!
There is a constant nasty mold smell. This is ridiculous! Of all the washers I have had in my life this was the most expensive and the least effective. Has all these lights and noises, but the clothes dont get very clean and loading is always off and IT SMELLS LIKE A SEWER PIPE! I leave the door open all the time as instructed, but it smells like an EGG FART EVERYDAY!
I purchased a top load LG washing machine. My clothes dont come clean. I end up washing them two or three times. Im not talking about seriously soiled clothing, just everyday soil for which Ive never had issues with other washing machine Ive owned. For the amount of money I spent on this machine, youd think it would work better. As a single grandmother that is supporting an adult child and two grandchildren, I cant afford to replace it or it would be out of here. Stuck.
Dryer worked very well until it just stopped. Used about 2x a week for 3 years. Called LG and used their repairman for $150 to diagnose the problem. He took off the top of the dryer and the motherboard and wires were fried. Said he had seen it before and that replacement of motherboard would be $850. LG unresponsive. Junked this beautiful, new-looking dryer and bought a Samsung. Read my negative review of an LG steam DW. NEVER under any circumstances, no matter what you think about your being an exception. Never buy LG.
Updated on 09/10/2019: Update to my previous post. After a week of having the parts the Puls technician finally showed up and installed a new/different compressor than the original. Install went fine up to the point he told me it required a new software upload before we could plug in the refrigerator, which he has not received yet. Now another day has come and gone with no working refrigerator (two days after replacing the compressor). What a major undertaking this has been! I had to call on behalf of the technician to get the software ordered and Puls is telling me that it was LG that was the hold up. What a nightmare of an ordeal. You would think LG would know the software was a requirement and would have sent it with the compressor. Nope, no such luck! What horrible aftermarket support. Think twice before buying LG... Original Review: I have loved my LG fridge until it stopped working. I called LG and they asked a few question and figure out it was a closed system or compressor issue under warranty. They shipped me all the parts needed (good for LG) but Puls Technologies Inc. dropped the ball and did not have a tech show up as scheduled. So they told me it would be the next day, then they called back and said the soonest would be in three more days on Saturday. My question is, can I get a technician on my own and have them do the repair and send LG the bill? A week without a refrigerator is not a fun thing to deal with. After reading more on LG refrigerators, I see this seems to be an on going issue. Wish I knew this before I bought the fridge and an LG dishwasher. Lets just say, I wont be buying a matching oven and microwave from LG.
Appliance group discounts promotion at Home Depot for matching set of fridge, stove, dishwasher. I dont think LG appliances are very durable whereas Kenmore, Frigidaire, Maytag, etc. last longer. Ice and water dispenser combo on door makes it easy to get a drink but also drips or leaks as outages. Cartridge change for water filter not convenient to access to change and is costly. Perhaps a longer-lasting cartridge or easier filtration, I dont like having to change these.
Heard good things about it from sales, however once I bought it and actually used it, I realize that the cost of this item was much higher than others and I could have been happier with a less expensive model. But I like the side by side which was easier to get what I needed, like the choice of colors offered too. I chose black. Not too much more I liked, the shelves were arranged with adequate space for big items like milk and juice. The freezer space is too small in width and limited in space for large items, the ice dispenser should have choice on type of ice and ice maker freezes too fast. Hard to find filters for it, ice maker broke and couldnt get a replacement. Will not buy again.
The washer has held up well for 6 years with only minor repair needed. As we found out, you have regularly clean the drain filter but its easily accessible from the front of the machine. The machine we own is not heavy duty but perfect for my wife and I now that the kids are out of the house. We will buy LG again when we eventually need a new one.
The tubes in the back for the water and ice maker have sprung leaks 4 times in 8 years. The repairman says that the tubes are too small in diameter. Other makes make them larger. But it has cost me $75 to $100 every time I have to have them repaired. I would not ever buy another LG refrigerator.
Its a fridge, it had the basic features I needed. I bought it because I trust the brand and needed an affordable fridge. As long as it was a reputable brand with the basic functions of a fridge, I was sold. It was the cheapest high quality fridge I could find. It did everything I needed it to do. Yes, it met my expectations. Actually exceeded my expectations. LG is a well known reputable brand. Its a great fridge.
Purchased a home with an LG fridge in it. We have had LG out 5-6 times in the last 13 months. The fridge continues to malfunction, and we have lost hundreds of dollars in spoiled food multiple times. Memorial Day weekend was the 4th. They are out again today, would like to refund or replace the fridge but cannot do so without a purchase receipt. The service technicians have been great, but we do not have the receipt and they cannot submit for reimbursement. Any suggestions here would be appreciated.
I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make the same mistake I made by buying this LG refrigerator. I bought this refrigerator on 5/6/13 at Famous Tate in Brandon, Fl, and paid $2545 for it—my very first “modern”, expensive fridge. This is Model # LF X 319455T/02 (stainless steel French Door). I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning, and after reading all these reviews, I can see that I am clearly not the only one.The food has gone bad periodically over the last 5 years, resulting in my having to throw stuff out quite often. I confess that I actually ate food that I probably shouldn’t have, and for someone with an autoimmune condition who MUST have fresh fruits and vegetables to survive, this is completely unacceptable. There had been water accumulating in the refrigerator for a long time, and a few months ago there was water all over the left hand side of the bottom shelf as well as all over the floor. I immediately called LG to discuss the problem, and rather than pay them in advance for one of their techs to come here, I paid a technician from Mr. Appliance to come here. He may not have been an authorized LG technician, but he was highly trained and extremely knowledgeable about these LG french door refrigerators. By the way, most repair technicians in my area refuse to even work on LG appliances. That should tell you something!!The guy (Ron) who came to my house determined that the automatic ice maker was causing the problem, and he literally showed me how this one defective part always malfunctions in these models. He further explained that eventually the compressor will probably go out. The replacement part has a heater built into it that supposedly will prevent this problem from occurring, but between parts and labor, it would cost me over $500. That day he enlightened me about a lot of things, and after doing extensive research, I found out that everything he told me that day was true. For instance, I found out that LG has known about this manufacturer’s defect for years, and yet continues to manufacture new models with the same defective part. Sounds very shady and evil to me. Nevertheless, I was going to agree to the repair whether Ron did it or LG (for a slight discount), but then decided against investing more money into this piece of crap.Instead, I bought new water and fresh air filters, and tried to remember to empty the ice container periodically. I should mention that I have NEVER personally used the water dispenser or the ice maker, but I thought it would be nice to have it for any guests who occasionally come over. That being said, for the last few months, the fridge seemed to work ok—not great, but ok. Then the last few weeks there was more water accumulating inside food containers. I just wiped them out, threw more rotten food out, and just put up with it. There’s also a strange discoloration on the touchscreen panel as well as a stainless steel finish looking like it’s peeling off. Clearly very cheaply made. It’s interesting that they charge a premium price for a cheaply made product. Don’t get me started on the faulty design which has its own set of problems. So, on Monday night (7/30/18) or technically Tuesday 12:30 am (8/31/18), the fridge started making an extremely loud noise. There was water everywhere and everything in the freezer had defrosted. I immediately called LG (they do answer the phone 24/7), and was instructed to turn off the breaker to the fridge. I did that, and at least that stopped the noise. I also dumped out the ice container in order to prevent matters getting worse. The representative told me that according to the schedule, a service tech. most likely would be able to come out Friday and for me to call back at 8:00 am to confirm. Obviously I’d have to pay $125 in advance plus pay the service tech for any additional labor. I explained to her that I now have to clean up the huge mess, try to salvage what food I can, and that I’m very ill, 80 lbs and need to be properly nourished to stay alive.I asked her how I’m expected to live without a refrigerator for 4-5 days and probably much longer after ordering parts and having the tech come back to complete the repair. She had absolutely no response for me. I did call back later that morning, paid $125, and scheduled the tech. to come to my house on Friday. Meanwhile I drove to the convenience store in the middle of the night, bought 4 bags of ice and went home to start the cleanup process. I worked all night long using the wet vac, taking everything out of the fridge and freezer, throwing lots of stuff away, and putting whatever food I thought worth saving into coolers with ice. I thoroughly dried the inside of the fridge and freezer, and then proceeded to clean and sterilize. Needless to say, I never slept having worked tirelessly throughout the night. Needless to say I was utterly exhausted.Due to the dire emergency I was in, I sent messages to 7 people on Craigslist and Next Door desperate to get a fridge delivered to me ASAP. The LG repair tech (Sonny) called me later that day and instructed me to turn the fridge back on, and said that he could come here on Saturday-not Friday. Fortunately, that horrible noise never came back on, so that at least was a relief. He proceeded to explain to me that from what I told him, it sounds like a very complex problem, and that his labor would be very intensive, and it could cost me over $1,000 between parts and labor regardless of the compressor being covered under the 10 year warranty. He honestly didn’t think it was worth fixing, and suggested I buy another fridge. We’ve talked several times in the last few days, and he has reiterated that I need to purchase another fridge ASAP. He clearly didn’t want to come here and told me to call LG and cancel the appt.I’ve also been on the phone with LG multiple times in the last 4 days for hours complaining about the situation to no avail. LG representatives in the Philippines are very nice, but there’s a huge communication problem, and it’s beyond frustrating trying to get my point across. I kept getting put on hold, transferred to various individuals, and no one seemed to understand a word I said. All of this massive stress compounded by 4 days of virtually no sleep has comprised my health even more. This entire ordeal has been an absolute nightmare, and I’m outraged that someone can very casually say “Oh well, just go buy another fridge” after I spent over $2500 on what I thought (confirmed by the sales guy) would be a state of the art refrigerator that would last for years. Boy did that turn out to be wrong. I agree with what the rest of you said about LG.I will NEVER buy another LG appliance, and advise everyone else to avoid this brand like the plague. Not surprisingly, I’ve found my brand new LG front loader to be quite frustrating. What a joke “LG Life’s Good”. Life is anything but good when you have an LG appliance. More like a nightmare. I deserve to be compensated for all the food I’ve lost and continue to lose as well as the toll this has taken on my health. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with LG and the hours it has taken me to write this complaint. The abhorrent way in which LG manufactures their products and provides service is nothing short of unconscionable, and I really hope we can all get appropriately compensated for what we’ve had to endure.
I found that LG stove knobs were made with a plastic insert. The knob has cracked and I tried to repair it to only find that it cracked again. We had the kitchen filled with gas once and it almost caused an explosion. I would not recommend this stove to anyone. I searched for replacement knobs and found that they cost $104.00 a piece, but could get a discounted one for $84.00. Are they kidding me?!
Purchased LG top load washer from Lowes this past March. I noticed issues with washer May. The Washer machine would not finish its spin cycle; stuck with one minute left for over 20 minutes. Stopped washer. Clothes felt heavy. Long story made short. Ive had two different repair companies visit 4 times in a three month period for the same problem. LG claims part sent out was defective. Last repair person told me I can either accept another appointment with another part (computer) or ask for my money back. He suggested to get money back and another brand. Not LG.When I spoke to an LG rep, he told me the report came back fine; no problems reported. I told him that is incorrect. I called the tech back and explained what LG said. He told me that is not true. However, it is out-of-his-hands. I called LG back, and came across horrible customer service. An LG rep hung up on me regarding to speak to a supervisor. I call back and ask another rep if I can schedule another appointment in order for tech to come out and reverify the same issue. LG rep said I couldnt make an appointment because the report said the machine is ok.I am frustrated and saddened that as a consumer I cant get this resolved. I did go back to the store where I purchased the washer. They called LG. They told LG I wasnt satisfied with the washer and that I have a warranty. Mind you this issue is still under the manufacturers warranty; less than twelve months. I also have a three year extended warranty. I do not recommend anything from LG. The customer service at LG doesnt care about the customer. I have more to say, but I wont. I spent a total of $700 for a washer that doesnt work. LG pretends everything is ok. I spend more time washing my clothes outside my home. This isnt fair. There should be a LEMON law for appliances.
We bought a LG French door/with window 8 months ago and refrigerator fan stopped working. We have called and called LG repair line and was told a technician would be out soon, it’s been over 3 weeks now and still NO technician. We are a family of 7. That’s 5 kids under the age of 13.. I am so SORRY I wasted my money on LG.
Purchased LG Fridge December 18, 2015. The fridge broke down June 2019! The product is less than 3 1/2 years old. Had to throw all of the content within the fridge and freezer $500 in groceries. Customer service experience was so stressful. Customer service department for LG Canada is located in Panama. The customer service representatives lack experience, cannot answer any simple questions. They put the customer on hold for a very long period of time and most importantly the customer service representatives are NOT FLUENT IN ENGLISH!!!! The conversation was very, very difficult. I would never purchase a LG appliance. Caution when purchasing.
This is a follow-up to a review written on January 22, 2013 regarding my LG washer. I did hear back from the resolutions department at LG who extended a prorated offer for my unrepairable washer. Whereas I feel the offer is fair, it is a year late in coming! The offer will allow me to purchase another machine. Trust me, it wont be another LG despite their good ratings on various websites. I am still out the hundreds of dollars in labor costs, plus the cost of having my clothes laundered at a local dry cleaners. As I said in my remarks on the 22nd, I do consider myself a pretty savvy shopper by checking both company and customer reviews. But this time was way off the mark. I hope and pray that my next choice in a washer, this time a front loader by Electrolux, is a wiser decision and that I wont be on a first name basis with my local repairman for a long, long time!
This is a beautiful, very large washer. Had great reviews and ratings in consumer magazines, etc. For 10 months or so it functioned well, handling large quantities of laundry, including towels and bedding. Then nearing the 1 year mark, the UE symbol, meaning it cant spin out the water from your clothing was a regular occurrence. I was told to use the tub clean cycle. It may have helped it balance for a few uneventful loads. But it was short lived. If you like standing over the top of a washer watching to see if it will spin, etc., but seeing it add 20 or more minutes over and over, then this is the one for you. A big disappointment.Updated on 1/23/2017: Whenever I have called LG about the frequent (Out of balance) issue they always say run the tub clean cycle, which I suppose tries to re-balance or reset without any clothes in it. It even get off balance empty!! Why does this washer get such good reviews in consumer reports, etc.
We bought our LG front loading washing machine and dryer in 2010, since then the washing machine floods all the time. At first, I thought it was me, putting too many items in or possibly using to much detergent. It is neither of these things, it is the washing machine. It is a piece of junk. The smell, I dont even want to go into that. Just read all the other reviews. I will remove these items from my home as soon as I am able to buy anything other than the LG nightmares I currently own.
This refrigerator (French Door Model LFX21960ST) is only about 3 years old. The first year we had to call out the repairmen because, evidently, the light was not going out when the door was closed. This is difficult for me to know since I rarely spend time inside the unit with the door closed. As a result, the bulb burned, melted and fused the carriage to the top of the fridge. It was still under warranty so it was fixed, though I had to take off work to wait for service. Now the display shows ‘Error’ which means, according to the LG site, repair must be called again! I have never had a refrigerator that needed service much less one needing major work within two years.
Updated on 11/08/2019: Have had an ongoing problem with a compressor on an LG refrigerator that is 5 years old and no it out. When the service tech came out on 10/24, the unit was eligible to be fixed free of charge, (which they told me would cost hundreds of dollars). When I complained to LG via ConsumerAffairs, they posted this response on 11/07. When I called them today to inquire about getting it fixed free, they said that now that is was November, we no longer qualified since it was now more than 5 years old, (by 7 days since it was manufactured in October of 2014). Why would they tell me this and then recant it? See screenshot below.... Beware of LG Refrigerators and LG in total, I have two of these refrigerators and their TVs.Original Review: The compressor on our LG refrigerator went out after just 5 years, although its under warranty, it doesnt cover Labor which turn out is several hundred dollars. In addition, it takes weeks to get the parts, not fun when your fridge is down for several weeks. I have two LG refrigerators that we spent more than $2,000 for each....terrible investment. Beware of LG refrigerators.
I agree with the majority of the people regarding LG fridge. I purchased an expensive counter depth fridge 5 years and 7 months ago and it completely broke down. Not the compressor but a leakage within the wall of the fridge so it cannot be repaired. I paid $125 to the LG technician to come and inspect to tell me that it cannot be repaired and that I should get a new fridge. The technician also let me know that the leakage was a manufacturing issue not wear and tear. I am aware of the LG settlement and was shy of 7 months to claim anything. LG refuses to do anything about it. So basically all their products are useless. I will never purchase another LG product and will make sure that everyone I know do the same. Worse service and company. They knew about the defects but did nothing. Where is the accountability???
I would never buy this type of range again. The large burners are in the front, where one would place a large stock pot. It is very dangerous to have such a large pot positioned in front. You have to reach over it to get to the smaller pots. Its very dangerous. The reason I bought this range was because it matches the refrigerator. It looks good, but it is difficult to use. I can manage it, because it is just my husband and myself. If I had a young family, I would get rid of it (even though it is new). It could become a hazard with small children around. They could easily pull a large pot over on them. I am constantly vigilant when I am cooking on it and worried I will tip the front pots over on myself. Its not a pleasure to cook anymore!
I wished that I could have read this blog before I purchased my LG refrigerator. I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago and have had the fuse blown twice, ruining all the contents of my refrigerator. The servicemans fix was using a paperclip to bypass the fuse and order me a new board, which would cost $400 (if I didnt have warranty). He explained that on this refrigerator, the fuse was located on the main circuit board and when the little fuse blows, you have to replace the whole board, which costs around $400.00, and it takes awhile to obtain. Two years almost to that day, my refrigerator went out again due to the same issue. I had extended warranty through Home Depot. It took a week to get a serviceman to my home, to hear that the main fix is to by-pass the fuse with a paperclip or some wire. I was told that LG is aware of the poor design and hasnt made any changes to keep this problem from occurring again. I lost another refrigerator full of food and some expensive medications to hear the paper clip is the answer again! I told the service repair that I wanted a new board ordered and placed on the back of this expensive refrigerator to hear him say that it is a temporary fix. LG has an issue with their product, people have contacted them, and they seem not to care. I contacted via Live Chat to hear, I am sorry for your inconvenience and had enough of that pre-typed message and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor said that there was nothing they could do but would pass my complaint on to a claims review dept. and that they may or may not contact me to help resolve the issue. I asked for a phone number to contact LG and was told by John (the supervisor) that he did not have a number for me to talk with someone about my issue. This was all that I needed to hear from someone online. It seems that LG hides behind their Live Chat personnel and are not interested in addressing their issues. Home Depot should be embarrassed to carry their products. We teach our children to make their wrongs right. I guess LG missed out on that lesson!
We have a 3 1/2 year old LG refrigerator (French door, door in door) that we had installed in our new house. While I love the features, the repairs have been a nightmare. We are currently on our 4th compressor. Each time we have been 1-3 weeks without a refrigerator. We ended up having to buy a little one to get us through. With the installation of the last compressor, our warrantly was extended. The current compressor is supposed to be one of the “new improved” ones. After about 6 months, we lost cooling in the refrigerator and freezer. Part of our meat defrosted (we took pictures). The ice melted in the ice machine. There was no sound coming from the compressor for about a day. Then it started working again. 2 1/2 days later, we had ice. We called repair and it was going to take a week for “their” repairman to even make the first visit. This company had terrible reviews and no way to contact them. We asked to be changed to another certified repair company. We waited 5 days for them. When they inspected the refrigerator, since it had started working again, they could not find anything wrong with it other than high pressure in a line and told us we had to pay the bill. So now we are still on compressor 4 (5 would kick in the lemon law), it stops working when it pleases, fails to consistently keep our refrigerator/freezer compartment at the selected temperature (can be off by 10 degrees), and because the problem is intermittent, we have to pay for the repairman to come if it starts working again before they get there. Love the LG features but will never have another LG refrigerator.
I have experienced the same as all the other consumers with their LG refrigerator pooping out after only a few years. I too am doing the waiting game for having my compressor fixed. I too have thrown out hundreds of dollars in food. All that frozen unfrozen meat right in the garbage. All the water from the ice maker going into my grout. Trying to find somebody to loan you a spare refrigerator. What I worry about now... is even using it after its fixed because what it sounds like is all these people are getting it fixed only to have it fart out and go through the same thing a month later. Im sad because I really love LG..Loved LG. I just bought a brand spanking new LG washer and dryer. Should I worry about that also?
lmx28988st Refrigerator w/ French Door and two drawer freezer. Two significant issues with major functions!1. Loss use of Freezer! Freezer drawer design is low quality and not durable. Details: Plastic cogs on the drawer track are frail and shear teeth easy. The stack up of the cogs on the rails have excessive tolerance. This combination causes the drawer to easily hop off track and excessive ice build up on door seal and door will not shut. Corrective action: Align better quality cogs with the rails to prevent future door alignment issues. Home band aid: Unplug, defrost freezer, take door off to assist in realignment.2. Loss use of Ice Bin! Ice bin feed components poor assembly quality. Details: The claw components that feed and crush ice have a set screw that will come loose due to low torque and ineffective thread lock substance. This causes the assembly to simply fall apart and render the ice bin useless until repair. Corrective action: Identify the optimal torque and thread lock substance to prevent screw from backing out. Another option would be to capture the assembly so that the screw can not back out from the crusher assembly. Home band aid: If you are able to find all parts, youtube has a few videos that can help with reassembly. Clean the threads of the screw and apply Blue Loctite to prevent from falling out again.
LG sent a wonderful service representative to our home and he repaired our refrigerator. Fourth time is the charm? We are hopeful that this will be the last repair that our refrigerator will need.
LG range model lde3017st. Serial # 105mmz800021 made in May 2011. Problem: the cook top failure, one of the element keep burning out of control. It burns red hot. It is hotter the max hot. This is a $1800 range. A cheaper one will last way longer than that. Called LG, they wont stand behind this product even this could BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN. Imagined if you were not at the range for 3 min while you are cooking with this kind of failure(!) you food will catch on fire. We were lucky, my mother in law was right there and gave a distress call when I was at work. I told her to pull the thing out and unplug it. Basically it just wont turned off, keep on glowing red hot.THIS PRODUCT TOO DANGEROUS TO BE IN THE HOUSE.
I pay LG to repair my washer that has a 10 year warranty. 3 months later they told me they cant fix it and also they took a $100 deductible from 360 that I pay for to get it fix. My washer is 5 years old and no longer working. They just took my money and didnt fix anything.
We purchased our new refrigerator along with an LG stove and microwave when we moved into our new home in 2016. Part of our decision was based on the experience we already had with our LG washer and dryer. Here we are now fighting issues with a refrigerator that should easily last 10+ years. If we had known previously about the compressor issues we would not have purchased this brand. Where are the lemon laws for refrigerators?Issue started with water on the floor and at first we thought the in-door ice maker was failing (more on this later), then two days later we noticed that ice cream was soft in the freezer and then a day later no cooling at all (by the way - all of this in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine and trying to make sure we had enough groceries on hand). It took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to get service on site for repair. The technician replaced the compressor and stated that the refrigerator would now run louder. Well, it was so loud we couldnt hear our tv in the next room without turning up the volume to almost maximum level.I pulled the refrigerator out and found that one of the copper tubes from the compressor was vibrating and rubbing on the rear cover. Called for service again to fix the noise issue. When he checked the refrigerator, he stated that he could find nothing wrong; however, he did release some of the coolant because he thought the compressor may have been overcharged and overheating. This seems to have resolved the noise issue. The in-door ice maker - noticed that after the compressor failed we now have water dripping intermittently out of the left hand door (the door with the ice maker). I mentioned this to service tech during his return visit and he said it was probably because I was leaving the door open too long and there was not enough cold air for the ice maker compartment. Ive had the refrigerator for not quite 4 years and never had this issue before - I dont think Ive changed how I use my refrigerator. This issue has not been resolved. We question how long the new compressor will last (4 years?). How much more electricity is the refrigerator using now as compared to before - seems to run a lot more now.
Bought a LG LFX25973ST French Door fridge 1/14 from Lowes. We went on a 2-week vacation last month and came home on a Thursday to a warm fridge/freezer. Dont know how long it had been off. It has a smart feature so I called LG and she ran me through the diagnostic, asked all the pertinent questions and since was out of warranty I could buy $275 package for fixing (parts/labor) the fridge with a 6-month warranty. She set up a repair appt for Tuesday, 5 days out. Very poor English, she was hard to understand. The guy came Tuesday and I knew I had a problem when he called the shop to ask what wires he needed to test. He was just the troubleshooter, could not fix the problem, a bad compressor. He had to go back to the shop and send LG the report, which he did, and we would hear from LG further instructions. Long story short 4 more days and no call from LG so we call them. We get major attitude. Very nasty woman tells us basically Youll just have to wait until can find a CERTIFIED tech. Day 11 we go to Lowes and buy a basic fridge for our garage. $400 thank you LG.Guy was great and looks up our original purchase of the broken fridge and says You bought an extended warranty. I know... dont laugh. So we canceled the LG contract (rate $100) and started working with Lowes. Much better service, English speaking CS people, $$ for lost food. Great, right? We get set up for a service call the next day. Ends up being a no call, no show. When we call them it ends up being the same business that LG sent out. We find out they cant fix a bad compressor. It must be a CERTIFIED tech. Closed system, dangerous gas, chance of fire. OMG.We live in Phoenix and there is just ONE certified tech in the whole metro area. They are 30 miles away and have a worse service record than LG. The customer reviews are horrible: poor work, no shows for service calls and rude employees. We are now on day 14 with a dead fridge in our kitchen. I always looked up reviews on performance of an appliance. Im now also now going to research repair and customer service. This is ridiculous that LG can hold a whole city hostage like this by not having more certified techs. I will add to this review as we progress, but Im not very optimistic. Im scared to death my other appliances, dishwasher, oven and microwave, never have a problem!
Let me begin by stating that my $350 Hotpoint is still working great in our basement after 20 years! But the LG fridge in the kitchen? Compressor died after 2 1/2 years! Ok so that part was covered by warranty but the $600 to get an authorized repair person out here to fix it was not. I just don’t understand. I have always thought that you pay more for better quality. Not in this case. LG... less good, loser goods, Let it Go. Save your money. Buy any other brand but LG! (PS... made a serious error and bought an LG dishwasher. It was rated #2 on Top Ten Reviews. It broke after 1 1/2 years! Repair has send five different guys over a one month period and no one can fix it! Rather than LG just admitting that its a piece of crap and replacing it, we are dealing with this circus show.) Never again, LG! NEVER AGAIN.
Purchased and LG LFXS32726S a year and a half ago. 6 months after the warranty expiration (of course) it breaks down. Refrigerator stopped cooling but the freezer still works. If I paid for an extended service plan, ($500 or so per year) I could have a tech come out the next day. I called a local repair company who came out and said that the compressor had a small leak and that I should call LG since the part would still be under warranty. I contacted LG who then scheduled an appointment for 4 days later even though with a service plan I could of gotten service the next day. Service tech texted he was on his way, my daughter was home and did not hear him knocking. He never texted me to state he was outside. Just left. I texted him numerous times to see what his progress of arrival was and no response, I called various times and left messages and no response.I contacted LG customer service who said my ticket was still open (at 10:00 am, tech we found out had come over at 8:34 in the morning). Waited longer and then was told at noon that the call was cancelled because he could not reach me. Funny his first text came in just fine to let me know he was on his way and when I had not heard from him and contacted him numerous times there were only crickets to be heard. Called LG customer service and was given the runaround. First I was given a number to follow up with that was supposed to be where the LG tech was being dispatched from. Called the company, this was a one man show with no employees who did not have a work order sent to him for our repair. Waste of time and aggravation there. Then with 20+ minute wait times on additional calls to customer service to just be told, call this company and see if they can help, we have no appointments available this week to reschedule you and when I asked for a supervisor... 40 minutes later I finally got one. My daughter in the mean time Contacted LG on Twitter and was given phone numbers of repair companies to call. Great customer service right? Here we are a week later with no diagnosis still and now as I am reading many more people are having the same problems. Finally got the repairman to contact me after speaking to the supervisor which was promising and he apologized and stated it must of been a problem with his phone and that he would be there first thing before 8:00 am the next morning. I personally waited for him and called him when he was late. He returned the call after 9:00 am to state he had family problems but was on his way.He then shows up just to tell me that the fan was frozen and we needed to disconnect the refrigerator and let it defrost. Hmmm when I checked online someone had the same errors and mentioned that it was a refrigerator fan that needed to be replaced so I spoke to my husband and daughter who had by then made a secondary appointment with another LG tech because we were not sure this one was going to show up after yesterdays fiasco. Lo and behold we got a third opinion, they agree with our diagnosis and changed the fan and now it is working again. One week and $429.63 out of pocket later so far (btw found fan only cost $80.00 online but we did not know how to install) hopefully this fan will last another year and a half so we can get money to buy a new NON LG refrigerator to replace this one! NEVER again will we purchase an LG product. I really thought I was getting quality and value for my money and now we have learned to do even more research before buying pricey appliances like this in our future.
Four and a half years ago, we purchased a new fridge from American Appliance in Madison, WI. We looked at several models and were debating between a GE Profile and a similar LG model. We were concerned about the reliability of the LG brand and asked the salesman; he said he hadnt heard of any problems and that they were reliable. We decided to go with the LG. We started having problems last year and the main circuit board went out, which was about $500 to fix.I asked several friends if they have had trouble with any LG appliances and I was shocked at how many people I know who have had trouble with the reliability of LG. I wish Id followed my instincts and avoided the LG brand. Our fridge is now incessantly beeping, even when the door is not open. Today, it started grumbling very loudly. Im afraid Im in for another giant repair bill. I really wish wed bought the GE Profile fridge.
We bought this LG refrigerator Jan 21, 2012. It is the biggest waste of a thousand dollars we have ever spent. Last Labor Day it stopped cooling. Had to wait a week for a repairman. One took pity on me and told me over the phone to remove the back and dry out with a blow dryer. It worked. So now this Labor Day it wouldnt cool again. And guess what, had to wait another week. We decided not to melt the ice since we had a warranty. The repairman came, took the back off and fiddled around, said it was good and left. The fridge, still four hours later wont go below 40. We called the repairman. He said it is ok to put some food in. So we did, really fast. Now it is 50 degrees. Clearly we will be going back to coolers and five bags of ice a day again. We are so fed up. PLEASE dont buy LG. Not only does it not work well, but it dents if you look at it, and the little humidity control on the veggie bins snapped off the first three days. Just hate it. But it was the largest fridge that would fit through our small doors. So we had to buy it. PLEASE PLEASE dont make the same mistake. Now cancelling cats surgeries to buy another fridge soon. Sigh.. Anyone know a brand that works?
I bought a LG refrigerator... Less than a year ice maker does not work... Stove start button for oven works when it gets ready (stove almost 2 yrs old)... Just got a dishwasher in December 2013. The le is flashing...From what I have read online it could be a loose wire or the motor...really! I see why they try and push extra coverage... defective before you buy it. I can maybe see one product... but 3... all from the same store (hhgregg). BEWARE!
It does wash the dishes clean, but is noisy and slow. I like that I can pick a bottom or a top wash or both. Its white, so can go with any kitchen, but is getting a bit long in the tooth. It cannot take really good water pressure as it causes it to make a high pitched sound and water has to be turned back to a trickle. The door did not last long - I am going to call it. The hydraulics of the door have given way and is very heavy - does not affect the wash but is not a good thing to have happened. Other than those things it pretty good.
We have a LG4801CW top loader washing machine that has had a slow leak we just discovered, as there was never water visible on the side or front of washer to indicate leaking. However, overtime water has been leaking out of the back of the tub as far as a plumber can tell going behind the washer and under our trim and tiles/sub floor. After a year and a half of having the washer we noticed two of our tiles had cracked by the washer. When my husband pulled up the tiles, we found mold and water in the sub floor around the washer and more cracked tiles hiding behind the washer. We have contacted LG and they wanted to charge us to come fix THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT that was 1.5 years old because it was no longer under warranty. Pretty sad when they dont stand by a product that is 1.5 years old. They were supposedly reviewing our case and would get back to us in 3-5 days, yet have not and we have called them several times and it has been a lot longer than 5 business days. I feel like we are getting the runaround and Im sick of having a torn up house. Because of the damage to our flooring and since we have an open floor plan this has resulted in ~10,000k in flooring we have to tear up because we cant just replace one section. They no longer make our tile and we are out of extras. The plumber that came out said dont buy LG products as the design is too new and are very frequently faulty.
After less than 3 yrs. the Sears Kenmore Elite died and we lost over $400.00 in food. It took 6 weeks to even get a repair man to service it with new parts from LG. 3 days later it died again now it is taking another 2 weeks to have someone look at it again. Life is not good. I will never buy another product that is made by LG. I had to buy another fridge while this one is in my kitchen taking up space.
Update on 10/09/2020: This is a follow-up to the review I posted on April 5, 2020 and still has not been resolved. LG replied to have this issue repaired but due to COVID we were not going to allow a mechanic at the time to come into the house. LG has since not responded.Original Review: Like other reviewers, the same front left element of my induction range stopped heating. We are having the same problem and the range has barely been used and was purchased at the end of February 2019 but not installed and started using until May 2019. I have also tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in but that did not help. We paid over $2,000 and the limited one-year warranty expired which is disappointing for how expensive this unit is. Very disappointed in the quality of this unit and we purchased several other LG appliances unfortunately.
Spacious, lots of storage, keeps food very cold, french doors, working icemaker, alerts you when you leave the fridge door open. All in all it has definitely has the qualities I want I just dont want to replace it with so much money again. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. It is a very good fridge overall and has all the qualities you need in a fridge but it needs to be made more durable and easier to fix when things break. Cause my ice machine doesnt work. I would have made it easier to clean, more user friendly, make it less loud when it beeps when you leave the door open. Also, the handle to the freezer broke, so I would made that more durable.
We purchased an LG French Door refrigerator in July of 2016. In February of 2019 (32 months later) the compressor died, costing us $500 in service fees and waiting a week without a fridge for parts. Contacted LG service and they gave me the run around for two days. In the meantime, we were losing food (valued around $500). After reading further online, there are class action lawsuits against LG for these same issues. DO NOT PURCHASE LG refrigerators! Look elsewhere to save yourself time, frustration and lots of money!
Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.
We were looking around and doing some research a few years ago when we bought our first LG fridge. And in that process, we found that we liked the design and the products that they offered. But our most recent refrigerator has been nothing but a nightmare. It keeps failing constantly. And now, LG’s saying they won’t replace it unless I have the original receipt. So now, we’re stuck with a broken refrigerator till I can potentially find a way to get a receipt. I’m extremely likely to go to a different competitor after this experience. We really enjoyed the product, and they were aesthetically pleasing, but a refrigerator’s supposed to refrigerate things.
Purchased LG product in November 2014 and it did not even last 5 years. Compressor is not working and cost of labor to replace is over $700.00. LG will only assist with cost of repair for 36 months. It is evident that LG does not produce quality produce. If LG invested in a quality product, then LG would stand behind its products and company would offer assistance if their refrigerator stopped working after 4.5 years.
My LF French door refrigerator/freezer, model LFXS29626 is 2 years old; it stopped cooling and I had to have the compressor, coils, and coolant replaced. Since LG only covers labor for one year, I have to pay over $300 out of pocket for the repairs/labor costs. It is my understanding from the repair company, that LG has had this recurring issue, and that they have repaired four units within the last two weeks.
Consumers beware when purchasing an LG appliance! If you are remotely mechanically inclined and prefer to save money and repair things yourself, LG is not the manufacturer for you. A little over a year ago LG decided that they will not sell replacement parts to the general public forcing you to call an authorized service center to come to your house at your expense to repair your appliance no matter how small or simple a fix.Recently I needed to replace an $8 tumbler roller on our LG Tromm dryer that had worn and was making noise. It is about a 30 minute fix and requires a screwdriver and two wrenches. LG Canada nor any of its authorized service centers would sell me the part even though I had already removed it and was ready to install a new one. The parts are sold in the USA but every company that sells the part will not ship to Canada. My only options are to either bend to these unfair practices by LG or junk the dryer and buy a new one - albeit a different brand!
I purchased an LG top loading washing machine in 2014. It is by far the worst washer I have ever dealt with. It can honestly take all day to wash a load of clothes unless I stand there to make sure that it does not stop to run more water in to rebalance the load and trust me I do everything I can to make sure that it is balanced. I would love to be able to throw it out the door.
This top load LG washer is the worst appliance I have ever purchased! I cant begin to list all of the things that are wrong with it. The drum on the dryer cracked after 3 years. The repairman said in all of his 30 years he has never replaced a drum. Stay away from LG.
Our LG Front Loading washing machine has a massive problem with black mold in the rubber door gasket. It seems to be a widespread problem with this product. If I had known this beforehand, I would not have bought this washer. I would like my money back so I can buy a replacement that is well made and works.
Purchased 28 cu ft. fridge (LFSX29766S) 12/15. Worked for great 2 1/2 years and quit. Told compressor was bad. Compressor was covered but labor was $550 plus 4+ days to get one shipped in. Our other option was to buy compressor @ $250 and get it installed next day. I figured $900 and no idea how long it would last wasnt an option. Bought a new one, not an LG. And I will never purchase anything with LG on the product.
7/17/2017 purchased a Sears Elite Stainless Steel side-by-side Grab and Go refrigerator model 51863. The product had the Sears brand but found it was made by LG for Sears. 8/8/2019 freezer and refrigerator sides were warm and melting. A Sears and a none Sears serviceman (2) came and diagnosed the problem to be the linear compressor which was made by LG had gone out. This was a new beautiful looking refrigerator just over over 2 years old. Paid $1751 for it and it would cost $1000.00 to repair. Wrote Sears Vice President of Customer Experience. Received a phone call from their Executive Complaint Department and spoke with a Debra (or Deborah) who after lengthy conversations told me that since I did not have an extended warranty, there was nothing they could do.I was livid. Researched and found hundreds of customers who has had this problem and also found there is a class action law suit pending awaiting to see if the courts would approve it. After the poor treatment from Sears, and after having read that some replaced compressors went out again, I opted to buy a none LG brand refrigerator. Spent total of $3000.00 here.3/9/2017 purchased an LG 65 smart TV from Sams Club. Model: 65UH615A for $1000.00. I have 4 other TVs, none of which are LG brands. The oldest TV is over 12 years old and I watch it the most and have had no problems with it or any of the others. 4/25/2020 the LG model went out. Yes, the TV that I have had just over 3 years! I get a black screen. Researched online and it appears the motherboard is shot. Have a call in to a repair person. WHAT is UP with these LG products? How disappointing is this. I really thought that LG was a good brand but my experience dictates otherwise. 2018 purchased an LG Stylo 4 from Sprint and am now having problem with this phone when I log it up. This phone is just over 2 years old. I am so very disappointed in the LG BRAND and will make no more purchases by LG. I also will not refer this product due to my bad experiences.
I am writing this letter because my mom who lives with a terminal illness has been without a fridge for nine days. Neither the fridge nor freezer works. This isnt the first time. She went without a fridge for a week before this a month ago. She recently purchased this fridge in October of 2012. We were told to go buy or ask a neighbor for a cooler to put our food in. We live in a very small town, and it is difficult to eat out all the time. We have been losing out hundreds of dollars with the food going spoiled. In addition, I am working all day, and my mom is without food. The first guy who came to fix the fridge brought a hair dryer. The second guy said he only ordered the part for the freezer and not the fridge even though we told him that neither worked. When my mom called the appliance company to see how soon the part was coming in and asked if she could get the part number, the manager said he did not have to tell her that and spoke very rudely. Then when she asked when the technician was coming out, the manager told her the technician would be in court all day. My mom isnt able to speak well as her muscles are going out. She also noticed a scratch on her fridge that was done by the technicians. The appliance company said they had nothing to do with that as did LG when we called. Therefore, I called and spoke with the supervisor and filed a formal complaint hoping someone will hear our frustrations. The supervisor was helpful and did as much as he could, which was to see when the part would come in. However, the manager of the appliance company said he was on the road and couldnt give the information right there and then. That is understandable, but I dont understand why it is taking so long to get a part in. Can the part not be delivered in 1 or 2 business days? We paid over $1200 for this fridge. I dont understand the customer service. The appliance company has been rude and LG has not been able to do much. I understand there is a process for everything, but this has become too much. What are we to do? My mom is stressed with having a terminal illness and her husband passing away recently. Can you please fix this situation? I have sent this through the post office with urgency hoping that you can address the situation.
I have owned an LG refrigerator with a bottom freezer for the past eight years. Besides the beautiful design of my refrigerator, I don’t have many good things to say about LG as a company. As a matter of fact, as a free trade supporter, I would limit access of this company into the US market because it does not uphold US product and service standards. The internal organs my refrigerator, made out of plastic, began breaking in the first two years. Two years ago when my refrigerator stopped cooling just before a big holiday for each I had to cook for and store food, it took LG four days to send appropriate serviceman to take care of the problem. The first repairman did not even have the appropriate equipment to fix the refrigerator and passed the buck on to someone else. When I called LG again and insisted on an LG certified repairman they had sent one. At that point I was out of warranty my refrigerator needed a new compressor which was installed two years ago in 2016, and for which I paid full price out of my own pocket. Recently I’ve had a problem where my freezer is not working but the refrigerator is still cooling. When the question of replacing the two-year-old compressor with a new one came up, LG stated that it’s company‘s policy is that if a compressor has been replaced and the refrigerator is out of warranty, the standard manufacturer warranty for compressors which is typically for most appliances 5 to 10 years does not hold water any longer. When you call for service you have to threaten and move up the ladder to speak to a few supervisors before you can get an adequate service. I will never own any LG product again and I would gladly share this recommendation warmly with any person I know. Who needs you LG? Go back home and stay there!!!
LG has a good reputation, has stylish fridges that work well and last a long time. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. When I do finally purchase another fridge it will most likely be LG as well. Spacious, keeps items cold, never had an issue with it not working or things getting hot. Very good refrigerator that I expect to last a long time. I would like more door shelves and more drawers though. Very rarely it will get TOO cold and slightly freeze certain items, but that has only happened a couple times. 10 out of 10 even with that one tiny minute issues. Would recommend.
My husband bought me a pair of LG appliances for Christmas of 2014. In March of 2015, we had an issue with the fridge. It took 2 weeks to resolve. In April of 2015, same issue....freezer frosting up, then stopped cooling. It was a compressor problem..shocking. June of 2019 freezer stopped working, next day fridge part quit. 2 days to get a tech (who was wonderful). Tried to say it is a sulfur problem in the water (our water is filtered), then the compressor and now its also the motherboard...all at one time. Trying to get a unit replacement because obviously, the refrigerator is a lemon. I uploaded all the receipts and supporting documents and now I have to wait until JULY 8th!!!! to get this fixed. I am under warranty for at least 6 more years. At this point Id like to be refunded for this obviously defective appliance.
May 2014 purchased brand new LG stove model number lre3083st. Barely used, went to use self cleaning before Thanksgiving. Stove quit working the entire unit top/bottom. Stove would not unlock. I had to fight with LG to get someone down here to fix the product. A repair company finally came. He explained that it had became so hot that it burnt the back of the unit melting the wires. He said he replaced it. I did not attempt to used the method again until this year in July 2015. There are two self cleaning methods on the stove and I was going to use the one that is a shorter cleaning. When I attempted to use it, I realized it did not work. I immediately contacted LG. They stated they would give me a 30 day warranty extension and have someone come out. I waited and a repair service called. They said they needed to contact LG and would contact me back. They never did. Then LG called, left message on August 4 stating that the repair shop would be in touch to fix my stove and if I did not hear from them to call them back. I called, left messages and they never returned my calls. I then called LG today and spoke with a Lyn and explained my situation. She then informed me that the 30 days were up and that it wasnt the same issue and I would have to pay for it. I was on the phone with her for 40 min explaining and defending the fact that this was the same issue and that their company had already made arrangements to fix this. She finally said she would contact the service repair. I told her I wanted to talk to manager. She transferred me to an Adrianne who repeated the same thing stating that the 30 days were up because I trusted that they would send someone out. After telling her I was going to report this she said she could either contact the repair company or I would have to send receipt to her so that she could contact another repair shop. I explained I did not understand why I would have to do that when they already have all my information. She gave me her email address and fax to send the receipt to. Fax ** and **. I have my statement where I purchased the stove and thought I had receipt but unfortunately I may have to wait 30 to 90 day for Lowes to send me receipt. This is ridiculous. I was not required the first time and they have all my info and they didnt require it the second time but now I need it. Its just another tactic so they dont have to stand by and fix their product. LG is not standing by their products and the people they have working for them are not dependable. Now I have a stove that does not function properly.
I purchased my LG dryer model DLEX4270 and immediately I noticed the lint screen didnt fit the slot perfectly. I went ahead and dried clothes in it anyway. Some of the clothes became wrapped around the corner of the screen and caused them to stretch out to a point that they arent wearable. I contacted LG to send a new screen and was informed that I would have to pay for it. Now the screen has actually cracked and smells like its going to catch on fire. So, I ordered a new 1 and the same thing has happened again. Really poor design!!
Cleans very nicely but is just starting to get noisy. Love the ease of use and the rinsing it spot free. Perfect for a family of 4 but I can see its going to be too large when kids go to college soon. Modern looking, looks up to date. Wish I had gone with the stainless steel finish but that was much more money. I love the dishwasher but sometimes its too large like when the kids go away for weekend with friends.
I also have had the same issues as others on this thread. Compressor failure at 3 years of ownership is a sure sign this unit (and others within the same model series) are complete garbage. Prior, 3 months after purchasing this unit, we experienced a loud rattling noise which was caused by a fan hitting a build-up of ice on the compressor lines. After multiple tech visits, replacing several items, the entire board or CPU for the unit was replaced. We had no other issues after up until now, 3 years later. Fortunately, we did buy an extended 5-year warranty from the company where it was purchased. This warranty did cover the costs to repair. But, based on my research, the compressor will fail again in time due to onboard firmware issues that are causing the overload.
I purchased a brand new LG refrigerator for $1,500. Refrigerator suddenly stopped working last week, spoiling hundreds of dollars of food! Called a repairman who made an in-house visit and LG customer support, both confirmed that I need a new compressor. LG confirmed that compressor is covered by 7 year warranty but labor charges are my responsibility. They provided me with a couple of authorized repair places to call. I received several quotes for labor ranging from $650-$850! The refrigerator isn’t even worth that! LG has refused to do anything to fix or compensate for this!!! What a scam, I demand a full refund and will be joining a class action suit against LG for this fraud and encourage all to the same immediately! If anyone has had the same issues you can reach me at: **.
My LG washer and dryer are pieces of junk. The washer stinks like mold and mildew. It does not get the clothes clean. I have to start the load, let it run about 5 to 10 minutes to get everything wet and soapy then I stop the load to let it soak for an hour. Thats the only thing that helps get the clothes clean or I have to soak them in the sink before washing them in the washer. Its supposed to be a large capacity washer but I have to keep the loads small. Ive pulled out things that dont even feel wet and still smell dirty after running through a cycle. Theres also rust around the place where the soap goes and chunks of rusty metal are starting to fall off into the loads. The dryer almost immediately started messing up. The lint tray had a felt-like edge around the rim thats supposed to stop lint from going outside the tray. That peeled off within a month and it doesnt stop all the lint now. It runs really hot, so if you use the auto settings it will just turn off. I have to use the time buttons to get it to stay on. It cant be run any higher than low or it will cook your clothes. Im sure its a fire hazard. Im saving up money so I can get a new set and it will definitely not be an LG set!
I purchased a double oven in 2018 & within six months the numbers on all the knobs were coming off. Mind you, I paid over $1300 for this range. I requested replacement parts through filing a complaint with the BBB, because LG wanted me to buy the knobs, because the warranty had expired after emailing & talking with them on several occasions. First, they set the wrong color knobs, the second time they only sent two knobs, with one being damaged & the wrong style and the third time, all the knobs they sent were different & they only sent four. This is the worst company Ive ever had to deal with & the worst & cheapest made appliance Ive ever bought. Ive never had an oven where the numbers have came off the knobs. They are ripping off the consumers by producing these defective knobs & then trying to make you buy more & when you file a complaint, they give you the runaround & send you the wrong knobs, so they dont have to replace them for free. I have been going through this process for two months & still do not have the correct knobs on my oven. I spent over $5000 buying all new kitchen appliances and this is how they treat their customers. Its not like my appliances werent registered on their site, so they had the correct model & serial number. Buyers BEWARE when buying LG products. You will get the run around when trying to get the right parts & cheap production.
I placed a service call through LG for my refrigerator. They said the tech would come from 8 - 12 and call me prior to the visit. After taking the morning off from work and no one calling or showing up I call and they said someone would call me between 1 and 5. I have asked to speak to a supervisor and have been on hold for 15 minutes and counting. I had a Whirlpool for 15 years no problems. This 4-year-old $2500 refrigerator is a hassle. Wish I would have never purchased it.
We just bought our LG refrigerator and sometimes we close the refrigerator door the freezer door opens. Sometimes it closes itself. Sometimes it stays open. Im thinking this is a poor design. Buyer beware.
The fridge was purchased new in February 2017. The linear compressor failed in April 2019, and various other parts have failed since then. Every part (linear compressor, refrigerant valve, freezer evaporator) except the fridge compartment evaporator has been replaced, and it still doesnt work after 7 tech visits. Technicians do not bring parts--they must be ordered and shipped every time--adding more time without a working fridge. Though we have not paid for these tech visits, we have lost money on spoiled food and from missing work to meet the repair folks. In addition, we purchased a different brand of refrigerator after the LG failed for the second time. The purpose of the warranty is to repair the product and satisfy the customer, and neither of those has happened. We want our full purchase price back along with reimbursement for wasted food. Unfortunately, a leading consumer magazine still recommends LG refrigerators. My family does not recommend them.
On 3/21/20 my tenants discovered that their less-than 5-year-old LG refrigerator had stopped cooling and immediately notified us. They went online after being informed that due to the COVID-19 virus there was no one to help via phone or chat. Despite following all of the suggestions LG had on its website to help get the fridge cooling again nothing worked to correct the problem. My tenants tried repeatedly to call LG, as did my husband, but got the same message. After calling all over town our tenants were able to reach a repair facility, who informed them that the compressor had likely failed, since this is a common issue with LG fridges. Unfortunately, the repair facility wouldnt come out to help (we had all the necessary documents, including an extended warranty) because they werent sure if they were considered an essential business. They took my tenants contact info and said theyd let them know once they had a better idea of whether they were.. Meanwhile, my tenants, who have small children in the house, had no way to keep fresh food and milk for their family and ended up having to obtain a rental refrigerator to feed their family. Finally, after ordering the compressor and being allowed to go out to install it, the part was replaced on 4/2/2020.My husband continued to try and contact LG about this issue and to obtain a refund for the food and rental expenses. Finally, LG had an auto-answer that asked the caller to stay on the line, but that the hold time was exceptionally long. After staying on hold for over 45 minutes several times he was either transferred to people from another country that he couldnt understand, or they couldnt understand English, or that transferred him to another department which immediately disconnected the call hed been on for so long. This happened repeatedly and when he finally got someone who he could carry on a full conversation with and explain the issues, this person was no helpful at all and kept trying to tell him that we waited too long to request a refund!! All his calls were placed over the course of April and May, so when LG was at fault for not being available to even hear our issues, that was truly insulting.I finally started sending messages on LGs website and kept getting inane requests for various items (like the dates of every time we tried to email/call LG and why we didnt request the refund at that time...). The people I corresponded with: Christifien in the regular Customer Service department, Tori, Craig in the Presidential Escalations department (who responded to my separate messages to the President) all gave me the runaround and I had to keep sending messages to follow up, since they were hoping Id just go away... Last month I received a check in the amount of only $150.00 with no letter or apology or explanation, but this didnt even cover half of the expenses that were incurred (Id clearly noted in multiple emails/messages that over $300.00 was lost due to this: All the food in the defective LG fridge had to be thrown away at a cost of over $200.00 and then replaced, plus the cost of the rental).I sent another message to the President, stating how insulting it was to receive this amount; I finally received an email from Laiken **, Presidential Liaison who was very condescending about the whole thing; her entire email message is as follows: This is Laiken with LG. I am sorry to hear about your refrigerator issues. I have pulled up the case number, and I see your unit was down for less than a month. Due to that we cannot reimburse you for more that the $150.00 food loss you already received. As for the part, the account shows the unit was repaired under warranty at no cost to you, but if you did have to pay for the part or labor please send me a receipt for the parts/labor, and we can reimburse you for that. Unbelievable; she made it sound as if I was supposed to be grateful that they installed the defective part without charging me for it or the labor to install it, even though it was, as she admitted, still under warranty!! I sent an email back asking her if she seriously thought a rental appliance store would just give my tenants a refrigerator for free to use while they were frantically trying to get someone to come out and repair the useless refrigerator, not to mention the costs associated with having the loaner delivered and then picked up after the LG refrigerator was fixed. I asked her Put yourself in this position - would you feel like you were treated honestly and fairly? That email was sent to her on 8/25/2020 without any response from her, so Im assuming that she and the President feel that LG is just the poster child for honesty and fairness.... All I can do at this point is advise everyone I know to NEVER purchase one of its shoddy products. Seeing from the other posts how LG obviously knows about their defective compressors, yet does nothing about it, and to top it off lacks customer service skills of any sort, I can only hope that my post here will help people decide against ever doing business with this despicable company. As others stated, even one star is too high for this company!
On 4/14 I contacted LG Direct Service regarding my refrigerator not cooling. The refrigerator was no longer under warranty so they suggested some local service providers. At this point the service rep offer me a service contract for the unit, explaining that I would have a 60 day service contract for a cost of $365.04 and they would send a technician out to fix the unit on 4/17 between 8:00 am and 12:00. On 4/17 the technician was a no show. I contacted LG Direct Service regarding the matter. That had no answer for me and kept referring me to Assurance, who apparently is a third party to actually held the service contract that I thought I got from LG Direct Services. This whole time I had been dealing directly with LG as implied by the name. In any event, Assurance informed me that he was only service provider in my area, and that they would send another request to him. So I was told now that the technician would be arriving between 8-12:00 on 4/19. LG Provided me with the number of the provider so I attempted to contact him on 4/18 in an effort to confirm the appointment. After numerous attempts with no answer other than a recording with a full mailbox, I contacted LG Direct Service again. I explained that I could not contact the provider and needed to have this appointment confirmed. They attempted to contact the provider but had the same response that I did. After 2 hours of mostly being on hold listen to a recording tell me over and over again that they know how valuable my time is, I am informed that the guy will not be coming tomorrow. He rejected the request for the service. It turns out he rejected the first request for service as well. So the appointment that LG Direct Service told me I had, never even existed. No phone call or e-mail to let me know. So I took off of work for no reason. Had I not called on 4/18, the same thing would have happened. Now LG just keeps trying to pass the buck onto Assurance. LG tells me that the technician that didnt show is the only one they have in my area even though they had already given me the names of three other service providers. The fact is he is the only one that is on the Assurance list of providers. As a result they now say they can no longer repair my refrigerator. So instead of paying $365.04 for the repair it is now going to cost $900. LG totally misrepresented the service contract of actually being an LG product. I have repeatedly asked LG to stand by the contract they sold me and get another authorized repairman to fix it. They have gone so far as to tell me that they dont have anyone who can make the repair in my area. It should be against the law to sell you a product under the representation that it is their product and not a third partys. The only people I spoke with and was invoiced by was LG Direct Service and they should have to make do on the contract and get my refrigerator fixed and not just offer to cancel the contract and return my money and then have to pay more to someone else. Just for the fact that between time off of work and the 4 hrs plus I have spent on the phone with them should be enough to make them want to do right by the customer.
I am fed up with your service as your mechanic told me to change some parts of my washing machine and it will be like a new machine and charged 4000 for a rotary motor and a PCB. But within the 8th month, our PCB went out of order. He neither gave me a cash memo nor did he re-attend to my complaint but he answered me on phone that for a replacement PCB I would have to spend another 1800 plus service charges.
LGLRFC21760ST - Numerous calls to retailer and independent repairmen re: water spilling out from freezer and unto floor (It has ruined the hardwood floor in kitchen area) since purchase in 2005. Have paid lots in labor and parts over the years, they all do something different than the last guy..... and it keeps leaking. Called again and repairman said, You should have called us earlier. Really???? How many times do I have to call - and pay - to get it fixed? Now read that many others have experienced the same problem, but I have never been advised that it was a common issue with this fridge. Guy today said he would check to see if there were any bulletins issued on this matter for LG. Are those bulletins available to the public? Really, really frustrated after seven years with this problem. And now likely a very expensive bill. Plastic bins have also broken and will be replaced - poor design said the repairman - but that is the least of my problems.
The plastic water line that runs down the back of the unit has a small crack in it. Every time you use the water or the icemaker fills itself, the unit shoots a stream of water down the wall behind the refrigerator. Now, my wood floors are damaged along with my ceiling below my kitchen. These are the factory-installed lines on the back of my LG refrigerator. The unit is six years old.
This is a review of the LG customer service experience for a repair of an LFXS29626S French Door refrigerator. We woke up Christmas morning to find the 3yr old refrigerator was no longer cooling at all. Reviewing the warranty showed that the sealed system was still covered, so I placed a call to LG customer service. While the customer service phone rep was quite friendly/understanding and professional, thats where the enjoyable experience ended. Net-net is that after 4 months and 5 separate repair visits from 2 separate 3rd party repair shops, many phone calls, much lost time and spoiled food, the unit is still not functioning as expected. The unit was cooling properly after the 4th visit, but now the unit sounded like a leaf blower all the time. The final fix was more of a hack that only partially addressed the noise issue, but they say that it falls within spec tolerance.I called LG and requested escalation. Upon speaking to the escalation manager, I requested that they replace the unit since it was not actually fixed. She was very firm that the company had a process that must be followed and that they would not replace the unit. They offered a minimal reimbursement for the spoiled food, which would nowhere near cover all that we had lost. Either way, we have not received any reimbursement. At this point were going to put the unit in the garage and purchase another refrigerator - something other than LG. The thing that the company (especially the escalation manager) didnt seem to grasp was the concept of total customer value. Not only will this experience keep me from buying LG refrigerators in the future, but since they also sell everything from washers/dryers, to TVs, to cell phones, I will look elsewhere for many products. The marginal cost for them to simply replace the refrigerator would probably have been around $600, but instead they likely spent more than twice that on parts and 3rd party repair services. When you add that to the future lost revenue it was simply a bad business decision that could have been properly remedied in order to keep an affluent customer.
I purchased LG double door refrigerator in October 19. Within one month I noticed plastic body of door depressed from one place. I complained to LG try to explain them the body cannot be depressed within one month unless there is some manufacturing defect or weakness in that part. LG is asking me to pay for the part which got depressed within month. What quality LG boast for.
Updated on 07/26/2019: If you look at all the negative reviews youll see that LG has not closed any of the complaints. They all are listed as resolution in process including mine. After my refrigerator died for the second year in a row I wrote my first review here but since LG wont respond I have to write another review in order to finalize my original review.Heres the latest on my refrigerator. The company that I purchased it from (ABT Glenview IL.) came out first thing in the morning and replaced the freezer fan and main circuit board. The unit worked for a while but during the evening the freezer was not cooling and the unit temperatures started to climb. I monitored the temperatures and called the service manager (Ryan) at ABT back and we ran through some things to see what was happening. I unplugged the unit and after a few minutes plugged it back in. The freezer fans kicked back on and the unit started to cool. A few hours later I checked it again and the freezer temperature started rising again. At this point I once again removed everything from the unit and put it in the loaner unit they gave me in.I called the next day and spoke with Ryan about what happened and he scheduled to have another service technician come out the next day to look at the unit. When the technician came out the first thing he said was the freezer fan was not running and had no explanation why. He unplugged the unit and they plugged it back in and the fan started to work but he could not say how long it would last. I spoke with Ryan later that evening and fortunately ABT is a reputable company and they offered to buy back my unit. We talked about all the costs involved and what could be done on the new unit pricing. The next day I went to ABT and purchased (at no cost) a new GE unit similar to the one I had and it was delivered yesterday 7-15-2019. They took back the LG unit and from what I was told it was sent to the scrap yard.I have to say that at least ABT stood up to their end but I can not say the same for LG. When I called LG about the unit I was told someone could be out here to look at it July 20th. While I was going through all this with ABT, I received a call from a woman (through a company the LG had gave my information to) who could barely speak English wanting to know if I wanted a service call. I cant tell you the name of the company because I couldnt understand what she was saying. I told her that the unit was being replaced and I would not need a service call.Hopefully I will have better luck with my new unit and can put this mess behind me. As for LG products I have to say I am extremely disappointed at how this turned out. This unit cost $1800.00 and should have lasted a long time not a few years! Here is the unit information for your records. LFXS24623S S/N 505MRZLMQ173 purchased 7-6-2015.Today 7-26-2019 I received a call from LG asking how the repair was working on my refrigerator. I told the person that the unit was in the scrap yard and was not being repaired. I dont think she really understood what I said and wanted to know if I was happy with the unit. I again told her that the LG piece of junk was in the garbage because it couldnt be repaired. She asked if I purchased a new LG unit and after I stopped laughing I told her I would never buy anything from LG again. She said she was sorry for all my trouble and if I needed any more help I could contact LG. I again told her that I will never buy another LG product and personally I feel all their appliance are junk. SO LG WHY HAVENT YOU REPLIED TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. I sent you the message you requested on July 17 2019 but yet to hear back from you!!!!Original review: I have an LG LFXS24623S 24Cuft French door refrigerator that was purchased in July 2015 and this is now the second year in a row where it has died. Last year August 2018 the unit needed a complete seal system repair which took two visits to complete and now less than a year later July 2019 the unit is dead again and needs a new freezer fan and main circuit board.Luckily I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the unit so this years repairs are covered but now Im going into year 5 and will have to purchase another warranty to cover what will inevitably be another repair next summer. This year I lost over $300.00 in meat and other frozen items but my warranty from the store will only cover $200.00 of it, so now Im out $100 plus the trouble of having to deal with the mess of melted ice cream in the freezer. Anyone thinking of purchasing an LG product should be made aware to find another brand to purchase! Read the reviews people their products do not last and they even know about it but still are producing garbage and selling it.
Life is not good with this LG refrigerator model LFX31925ST/00. We never have any ice. The icemaker had been replaced 3 times in 2 years. Even it works, it is not enough ice for a single person let alone a family. We are lucky enough that we purchased the extended warranty, but that doesnt help the fact that we are inconvenienced all the time with doing without ice for days on end calling repair, staying on hold, waiting for parts from FedEx, then waiting for repair men. Contacted LG... who does not care to say the least. I was told to deal with the puerile I bought warranty from because their year was up.
We purchased an LG model lvc22520sw/01 in 2010. We loved the fridge up till about 1 year ago when it would start beeping in the middle of the night, day ... whenever. It drives us nuts. We are a 2-adult household and never leave the door open. Why wont LG address this problem? Our warranty expired and that was when the beeping started. The grill and back are clean; the floor is clean underneath. I just replaced the water filter and it still beeps. Does LG really care about the consumer? Fix this!
