I had a great older dryer... No problems ever and I bought it used! Decided to upgrade to a LG efficiency dryer not expecting it to stop working after a year and a half... But of course after the warranty expired, it stops working 4 months later... After I have somebody come figure out the problem, it will probably cost 200.00... So disappointed in LG products... I feel nothing is ever made right anymore... Made cheaply so youre forced to spend more money on repairs and services...

We purchased a top load True Balance model WT4870CW early July 2013. No need for repair just yet but I cannot imagine we will remain unscathed. Countless UE warnings and subsequent UE shutdowns despite manually redistributing load and sorting by evenly weighed items. Water hammer on our plumbing from rapid cycle solenoid function when not experiencing uneven load. We will continue to hope for best while querying the web for updates and solutions (yeah... sure). Its crazy to hope for and experience elation just because the machine occasionally runs back to back loads trouble free. Our Whirlpool washing machine which this LG replaced gave us 19 years trouble free.

Their products look good to begin with but when you have a problem they are masters at kicking the can down the road and not helping. Their customer service reps write things in their reports that are not truthful (to cover themselves) and they continually claim that the fading of the black on the glass top electric range is purely cosmetic. BUT we choose items based on being aesthetically pleasing. I bought all 6 LG appliances - but after this frustrating 6 month long attempts I will never purchase any of their products again. I am frustrated and disappointed and angry.

We join the ranks of U.S. consumers writing to bring awareness of the fact that LG is not supporting their warranty for refrigerators that have cooling failure. After working with the company directly for 35 days, they still have not come through. There’s no hope in sight. The refrigerator is 4 yrs. old, costing $3,500. Model number LMXS30776S, 29.7 cu. Ft. French Door-In-Door Stainless Steel w/ Custom Chill Drawer. It was 9 days for them to find a company for servicing. LG scheduled, cancelled 3 appointments. We waited 23 days more, no one showed up today. The service company, A&E and LG blame each other, we are in the middle. Failure to show up for servicing is a common problem amongst consumers. If you read any “canned” response after this complaint, for us to call LG directly, been there. We write because of their epic fails. We are at a financial loss in time, our initial investment and food. I have never seen a company behave so badly. I don’t understand why companies continue to sell LG. We hope someone with authority will hold LG accountable, put a stop to them selling unsupported, defective product in the U. S.

I purchased this washer about 2.5 years ago and my frustration with it began shortly after I started using it due to its poor performance. It is frequently off balance. Even if it only has water and no clothes it will work for a minute or two then stop indicating its off balance. Washing clothes is an all day affair at times and I wash clothes by hand sometimes to avoid using this hated washer. When it becomes off balance it will drain the water out and refill again and again so any savings on low water usage are non-existent. I started a load at 6:00 am this morning and it should have taken 57 minutes. (It is now 7:45.) After my having to adjust the clothes in the barrel several times the machine tells me it needs 30 more minutes to complete which with my experience could actually mean multiple more imbalances and more time.... I truly HATE this washer and would encourage anyone to NEVER buy it.

I waited 40 years to have a nice kitchen, and I was taken in by the good looks -- and yes, I admit, the blue oven -- on the LG. What a mistake! We bought the 5 burner gas range, dishwasher and the microwave with the expanding vent. The dishwasher was a lemon out of the box -- Lowes just picked it up and left a new one. The microwave vent kept popping out, no way to secure it. We had to take the same product as a replacement because the bracket was drilled in the new tile wall. Waited TEN WEEKS for the replacement. I can faintly smell gas from this range; a snarky local repairman insists its my imagination. I entered a second complaint when the oven started to fluctuate wildly - set it at 350, it soars to 475 and then drops to 300. I love to bake and gave up on my holiday baking because this was so bad. The repairmen - from a second place - gave me a little lecture about reading the handbook and not using an independent oven thermometer. I havent cleaned the oven since these issues started -- Im afraid it will start a fire. I wasnt happy that LG never followed up on my complaints, either. I want to replace my refrigerator next -- you can bet it wont be an LG product. I am bitterly disappointed in this stove. I feel like Im stuck with it unless I just toss it to the curb. I could never sell it to anyone. Im calling again tomorrow and telling them I want it replaced, repaired or refunded -- I dont expect any satisfaction at all. I wish I had found this page before I bought LG products.

It has met my expectations. The price was decent. I really liked the look of the fridge inside and out. The size of the refrigerator was just what I needed at the time. I like the stainless steel exterior of the unit. I like the available space inside. It is quiet when it operates. It is easy to clean an looks great in my kitchen. The only negative comment I would have is that the temperature seems to fluctuate a little bit sometimes. Sometimes the food in the freezer is rock hard and some times a little soft esp. The ice cream.

I bought an LG gas stove a year ago and a microwave as well. What a piece of junk the stove is! It does not heat up fast. It takes 20 min to come to 350 and it does not even heat up right. I am always burning food which never happened unless it was my fault. It has 2 temps burnt or raw! I do use it a lot but that is no excuse. The blue interior has a haze on it I cant get rid of, I have tried everything under the sun. If there was a way to get my money back or fixed the interior I would but Google is no help. Now the microwave, it went out 6 months ago I called them it took another 3 months for them to get someone to come out and we live in Northern VA not a rural area then another 3 months to get someone out to fix it. We hardly ever use it (the microwave) and to have the control board go out at 6 months is crazy. I got the extended and its acting up again! I dont think I can ever buy an LG product again. If I had the money I would junk the stove and get something else. But I dont. I somehow doubt LG even cares. Neither one was cheap.

Purchased a set of Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. Just over the one-year
Purchased a set of Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. Just over the one-year warranty period, the dryer stopped heating. The service repairman was so rude I sent him away. I ordered a new heating unit online and fixed it myself and appears to be working ok now. The washer model #WT5101H top loading washer has never worked right since new. It continues to go out of balance when spinning and displays a UE error code. Then the washer will refill and swish clothes around for a while to redistribute the clothes and try to re-spin only to go out of balance again. It will do this a number of times and then just shut down. After doing some research, I found this machine was a part of a recall. I promptly called LG and got set up for a service person to come out and fix it. The fix was to replace the control circuit board. He replaced the circuit board and left only to find that the fix did not fix anything. It is still just as bad as ever. I called LG again and I ran a diagnostic on it with the phone and they said the circuit board is now just fine and their obligation of repair under the recall is completed but there is another problem with the machine. I would have to call for another service repairman to come out to fix it. My questions are this to LG appliance: 1) How can they possibly call this machine energy star qualified after running through so many spin cycles? Surely this is wasting a lot more energy than it could possibly be saving. 2) All this refilling and spinning is undoubtedly overburdening my septic drain field and wasting so much water that it is unbelievable. 3) With all the problems with these machines particularly with the spin cycle, it would seem to me that LG has a responsibility to provide a fix that works after all this machine cost over a $1K and it doesnt work and has never worked properly. I think my only recourse is to contact my attorney and see what legal remedies are available. Perhaps a class action lawsuit by all could convince LG to make the necessary repairs to make the machines to work right!! The only reason they get one star is that there is nothing lower! You could not get me to run fast enough away from LG appliances or any LG products in the future.

This is the noisiest piece of equipment in the house except for the washing machine or vacuum that run very rarely. This LG refrigerator is way below my expectations. We called the service department, they said that due to a pump of some kind this is the noise they make. This morning, early, 5 am, this machine sounded like a Martian flying saucer. The configuration of the refrigerator is okay, I mean really its a refrigerator. The constant noise is a drag. If I could go back in time I would NOT have bought this machine.

I called customer service at LG. A woman helped me with the issue. She repeated what I told her in her own words. There were no problems understanding each other. She told me a technician would be calling me to set up an appointment. About one hour later a man from some company called me and wanted to know what the problem is. The young woman had told me she would explain to the technician. Anyway I explained it all again. He said This is the problem and started to repeat what I said EXCEPT he wasnt saying what I had the said. I tried three more times to explain the problem. He got angry (actually he wasnt happy when he called), he got me upset as I tried four times to explain the problem. I suggested we make an appointment… he said NO. I dont come out until I understand the problem. He said I will look at the manual and call you back. He did that… Lo and behold he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND. I then called LG back. The man (sounded like he was in India) said You have an appointment on the 8th of May. I told I knew nothing about an appointment. He said May I call the person that called you. I said Fine. Have not heard back. A few days ago my older son was at my house. He said Mom, be careful. I was turning on one of the front burners. He must have noticed the large flame. I never told either of my sons about the fact that my clothes have been singed when turning on the front burners. Just let something happen in my kitchen because of the stove and you know who will be sued big time...

We purchased this LG French Door Refrigerator model LFXS29626 November 5,2015 from Home Depot, noticed the ice cream and pizzas were not staying frozen, later unit not making ice. Called LG customer support line, which is totally a waste of time, since the first call out of the three millions thereafter, I still have a non working refrigerator. No service center wants to work on LG products, the most recorded reason is LG never wants to sent the part and if by some miracle they do it had taken months to receive. I have never experienced this kind of customer service on anything I have ever purchased nor have I ever wrote a review. I would hope no one has to experience the frustration that we have with this unit. I would never even think of purchasing an LG product ever.

Mine quit within 18 months of purchase, I had a local repairman who replaced compressor and still does not work. In a nut shell, LG is designing washing machines that are designed strictly
In a nut shell, LG is designing washing machines that are designed strictly to garner a low Energy Star rating and they dont function as a consumer has every right to expect them to. Main example: set washer to cotton/ normal. Choose hot wash. What I end up with is an 84-degree water in the tub when the hot water heater at 120 degrees is only 2 feet away. I know for certain that it is engineered to pull cold water in with the hot as it fills the tub. Set on hot wash, you cannot even defeat the machine by turning off the cold water. It stops and wont run until you turn it back on. The main factor, I come to find out, in a washing machine’s total energy used includes the energy it takes to heat the water it uses. If the hot cycle uses less hot water from the tank, and the warm cycle is not warm, the overall energy consumption is low. It gets a great Energy Star rating. But then what the consumer end up with for their 620 dollars in this case is a washing machine that is designed to be a bad washing machine. But I think you see the point that the consumer has the right to expect that when they want to wash hot, they get hot, want warm, and get warm and so on. And the washer without a doubt under-performs because of it. It also wont get clothes clean unless you choose water plus. The manual states: Use this option for superior results.” But, of course, we know when being tested for Energy Star, they are not using water plus. Clearly, LG is marketing an Energy Star rating, not a washing machine. They have with purpose designed a machine to be marketable and deceived the buyer into believing the machine works as effectively as other machines with worse Energy Star numbers.I have been to the wall with LG over this. After five service calls and an LG service man and an independent one, they say they hear the same complaint all the time. When asking the service technician and at every level of customer service, including what they call executive services, why it pulls cold water into the hot cycle, their answer is that it’s designed that way and that’s just the way it is. A description read to me by Valerie in executive services about how the hot cycle works was a blatant, probable lie. I’m going to try and get it in writing or get it to read it to me again and record it. She, of course, could do nothing but deflect questions about why water ends up at 84 degrees in the tub with 120 degrees in the hot water tank. When I told her I was absolutely not satisfied with her answers and ask to talk to someone else, I was told in 2 different calls on the matter that she was the final authority and that was the end of what LG would have to say about it. I would think that proving a machine was designed around the Energy Star rating for marketing purposes without regard for the resulting machine actually qualifying as a washing machine would make a good class action. And this low energy consumption design is across the board on the LG machine.Narrow it down to machines of similar tub size as my WM2140C and you can clearly see the absurdly low yearly energy use numbers. Washing machines are not rocket science. There is no magic in their motors or circuits to have the actual machine use dramatically less energy than its competitors. The savings is coming completely from it using less hot water and that of course is not something in any sales literature or the manual. I have the right to expect something marketed as a washing machine to allow me to wash whites and other things I decide that need hot water in actual hot water. By the way, the warm cycle is 58 degrees. In whose world is 84 degrees hot and 58 degrees warm? The machine is 10 months old and still under warranty until mid-May. I perceived the hot water difference early on, but didn’t initially complain about it because I gave the benefit of the doubt as to whether it would function at those temperatures, which I now see clearly that it does not. Then, it took months of service calls to solve other problems with the machine. Pressure sensor problems would continually shut the machine down mid cycle. Turning the machine off and back on cleared the code, but you’d have to start the cycle over again and hope it worked. It became a real problem to go to the basement expecting the machine to be done only to find it shut down. They replaced the same pressure sensor 3 times and it still had the problem. Finally, they replaced it again along with the whole wiring loom and the main electronic board before it worked. Then, I was back to the temp issue. I had no reason to think that manufacturers could play these kinds of games with the Energy Star rating. I bought the machine based largely on the perception that LG was a reputable manufacturer because I was very happy with an LG HD TV I bought 4 years before.

Called LG customer service at 10 p.m. They cant help me, I have to call Home Depot! Called Home Depot. They hooked me up with repair service because its under warranty. However, they cant come out to look at it for over a week! Guess Ill have to wait and hear a door chime every 30 seconds and my Led light on all the time for a week!!! Ok, can do that. Now my water dispenser wont work, disconnected the water supply so that wont cause a problem. Ok can deal with that. Today, just 5 more days to technician time. Now the refrigerator is freezing my refrigerator drawer food and melting everything else. Contacted LG customer support and told them my story, they responded with THANK YOU. Bought a LG washer. It leaked. I have 2 different warranties. One with LG and one with Leons. Nobody wants to replace this machine. It is not even a year old. My insurance company has even said not my fault and paid me for floor damages to the amount of $8314.48 plus my $1,000 deductible. But I still have a broken machine. Never buy LG or shop at Leons furniture. Their warranty cost me an extra $199.95 on top of the machines cost. Tell me what good is warranty if nobody stands by it.

LGWT1101 - My sister purchased this washer about 8 months ago. Initially, it seemed like a great washing machine. However, I started to notice that my clothes were not clean. There were streaks of detergent on my clothes and it started to, for some reason, rip my clothes. I have changed the settings on the spin cycle thinking this might change things but to no avail. Pants have been ripped, undershirts and most recent a jacket that I paid a lot of money for. What is going on this this washing machine? There is little to no water, and the wash cycles take hours. This is worse than the laundromat! Don’t buy LG, no good. Lifes NOT GOOD LG!

DONT BOTHER!!! If the machine isnt bad enough, the service is worst! I paid big bucks for my LG washer and its given me nothing but headaches with water issues (IE) balance issues (UE) and now a leak that fills up my tub and gets your spun clothes totally soaked after my load is done. Whats worse is you cannot find anyone that knows enough to repair it in our area. Im not exaggerating. There were 7-9 technicians that came out (never fixed) and at least that many calls that they never showed up at their appointed time. I usually dont write reviews but I just want to warn all!

We bought a very expensive LG French door bottom freezer, with an ice maker in the door fridge. It has never worked right. The ice maker was repaired 4-5 times during warranty. The compressor failed within 4 years, and it never keeps the right temperature, constantly freezing food in the fridge. We set it at 45-47, it does 30-32. We’re throwing away lots of vegetables ruined by freezing. Even worse, when we needed repair for the compressor, under warranty, we contacted LG. Their repairman came out and said he would order the part, and then we never heard from him again. Only one local vendor would work on it. The rest said they refuse to work on LG, there’s no support in the US. NEVER BUY AN LG APPLIANCE. THEYRE ONLY GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS!!!

I have all LG products. Fridge ice maker went out 3 times in a year then 4th time at 18 months. So no ice maker the last year or so. Now today I lost my microwave (lmhm2237st). Just stopped working at 18 months old. LG said pay for an extended warranty for like $360 when the microwave is only like $400. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. My GE honestly last 16 years. My LG a little over a year. What a scam. I will never buy a LG again in my life.

The LG washer we purchased, while now out of warranty, is part of a recall
The LG washer we purchased, while now out of warranty, is part of a recall for a potentially dangerous failure, where the drum spins unbalanced and out of control causing the whole machine to be violently tossed about. This has been a three week ordeal, so far. The service center has been very good but the part they need is on back-order, nationally. As of this morning 12/3/2015 Im told by LG that they have an anticipated arrival date of the 12/16. LGs customer service manager tells me that we have no options other than wait. Ever been without a washer for a month during the biggest holiday season of the year? I own an electronics repair shop. Among others, were Samsung authorized. If a part cant be delivered within 7 days, Samsung will ship a brand new TV to the customer. THATs customer service. At this point Im basically forced to buy a new washer, have the LG repaired in the garage whenever they can, and give it to a family member or friend that needs one. Happy holidays LG. Youve seen my last dollar.

I have posted here before about the smell from my LG Tromm washer. I have been reading other posts regarding leaving the door open and peeling paint. I have always left the door of my washer open and, as Ive posted before, still get that awful smell. We are at the point now of needing to replace the washing machine after 3 years because our clothes smell so bad. We have tried all the front-loading washing machine cleaners we can find and have used bleach in the tub clean as per the owners manual. One of the worst smelling items is our wonderful towels. After showering, we have to remember not to breathe deeply while drying our faces! And I just noticed the paint is peeling off the front of the machine, near one of the “seams”. It is almost like the way wet latex paint will just wipe off if. It is painted over an oil-based paint. What can we do about this? I really cant afford to buy another washing machine already.

I bought a LG refrigerator for $2500 from Best Buy on Route 1 Iselin, New Jersey. Within 5 years the refrigerator stopped working and the customer service provided a local LG Dealership numbers, where I had to call and schedule a service repair at my expense and the technician came in checked and advised that the compressor was broken, and I had replace the compressor at my OWN expense even though the compressor was still under warranty. LG did not take any responsibility for the warranty coverage they owed. Now, its been 4 years. Again the LG compressor is broken. Having such bad experience with LG, I am afraid to call the LG customer service again. Same story repeats again.... SHAME SHAME SHAME ON LG customer service... Bought a microwave in Canada in November to bring south for the winter as we are Canadian snowbirds. Arrived in Yuma, Az and about 2 weeks after arrival the microwave quit working. There is a manufacturing date of July 2015 stamped right on the microwave but all my paperwork for purchase is in Canada. I phoned LG and without the paperwork they will do nothing. I tried desperately to get some paper work from Canada but was unable to get. I therefore have to go buy another microwave to get me through the winter. I can get the micro repaired when I get back to Canada in April and produce the paperwork but then Ill have 2 microwaves which doesnt make much sense. I asked the LG person that I phoned how they could not just repair it when the manufacture date is stamped right on it. NO EXCEPTIONS he said. This to me is absolutely ridiculous. I will never buy another LG product as long as I live.

Home Depot was willing to change our fridge and refund my money and that’s what I am doing. Do Not buy an LG fridge. Don’t. Just don’t...Oh and my 1000 dollar dishwasher needed a new control panel in a week. Sealed it out. Lg reviews that are good are usually people for most part that had their fridge for a couple months. Our refrigerator which cost $2,300 stopped working on Feb. 1st. A call to the number in the manual connected me to a call center somewhere in the world to a person who did not understand English. They referred me to an LG authorized repair service. After 2 weeks and 3 visits and $372.00, the refrigerator still did not work!!! They told me that I need to get an LG factory technician.I called LG who then told me that I must purchase a 60-day extended warranty for $253,29. They set up an appointment a week later with another LG AUTHORIZED repair service. On the day of the appointment we called the service only to be told that he was too busy and that LG did not send him the parts which he needed to do the repair. I called the LG number again who made an appointment with another service. It is now 3 weeks and they are still waiting for the parts!!! To be continued. I thought Comcast and AT&T were bad!!! Purchased LG refrigerator model LFXS24623S in March 2017. After 3 months, the ice maker would not work properly, (would not tumble ice into bin). Service man replaced ice maker. Waited 24 hrs, checked for ice, no ice! Called again, and same service man came, checked everything, replaced entire unit. Checked next day, still no ice. Same service guy came again, ( I knew him by name by now), said there was a problem with this particular serial number line, he had just received an update by email, replaced entire unit once again, you guessed it, still no ice in bin. Bill, (not his real name) said there was nothing he could do other than replace the fridge. Customer service called sometime later to confirm the replacement to be done at end of August. By 1st of August, freezer would not keep food frozen. Some stuff froze others didnt. By date of this posting, all food in freezer had thawed. We had to throw all the meat products out. We are now waiting for the replacement and hope this one actually does what its supposed to do. Im hoping we just got a lemon as can happen with any products. One other thing, the customer service rep we spoke with did not seem very sympathetic but seemed to treat our phone calls with total indifference.

Purchased model LDE3035SB on 10/27/14. On around the 23rd of Feb (2015) I decided to do the easy clean on my upper oven (this is a double oven range) since it wast that dirty to require the self clean cycle. When it finished I had to wipe the bottom out because there was still water in the bottom. I was about to put the rack back in when I noticed something that I thought was food in the back right corner. I tried to hand clean but it would not clean. I rubbed my fingers over and felt that about a half dollar size section of the enamel was gone. Called LG and they said they would send a repair person out at our expense. We had not used this oven much because we had been gone over all the holidays and could not do much cooking in Jan. because we were having it remodeled and only did toast or baked potatoes or something simple. When the repair guy came out he told me I was pushing the rack back too far and said that LG would not cover anything like this because it was considered cosmetic. We asked if it could be repaired and he said no. We contacted LG and were told they would not do anything about it but for us not to use the any of the self cleaning cycles. If this is true and the blue enamel is only cosmetic, then why cant we use the cleaning cycles. We even went to Lowes to see if they could get something done.... they were told the same thing. Funny thing I was recently told by 2 different appliance repairmen do you know what LG really means when I was asking about my range.... It stands for Lousy Goods. It is only a little over 4 months old and I wont be able to use my self clean. When it gets to filthy, we will toss it and a new rage but not a LG. $1,300 down the drain.

I purchased our LG smart washer dryer combo from Home Depot 14 months ago. For the first year it worked like a charm. Once it was paid off, the nightmare began. I have called the horrible customer service in the Philippines only to hear a repeated script. I have had my home warranty company come out twice. The only way for me to wash our clothes is to confuse our washer into thinking that the load is large. I put in 2 buckets of water on top of towels. I have ruined so many of my clothes in the twisted rope like fashion that I could cry. It takes me 1.5 hours to wash 2 pairs of jeans and a few shirts. The dryer is also Lousy Garbage. It over dries and shrinks our clothes, those that make it out alive from the washer never dry at all and are very wrinkled. And then there is the smell... The technicians say this is how they are suppose to work. There is no energy saving in taking all day to do a household of threes laundry. There is nothing smart about these machines... We purchased an LG washer new from Home Depot on August 27, 2012. We purchased a 5 year warranty from Home Depot at that same time. Today we noticed stains on some clothes, and discovered significant rusting from the metal under the bleach dispenser (which we never even use). I called the Home Depot warranty company and they said that rust was not covered!! I then contacted LG and they said rust was not covered but they might be able to do something. However, when they learned I had purchased a warranty from home depot they said they could do nothing. Meanwhile, there are numerous other complaints about this LG rust issue, including on their website from other consumers. We are now out of luck on a $1200 Washer. I bought my LG appliances not quite 3 years ago. I did my whole kitchen, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer & dryer. They were very expensive. I thought I was buying the best. I bought them from HH Gregg. First mistake. They went out of business shortly after. I never received pedestals for washer and dryer, they owed me $150 back but of course I never saw that. The appliances are junk. Microwave is convection but has burn marks on side from first use. Dishwasher wheels fell off right away. Getting dishes in and out almost impossible unless I get halfway in it. I rarely use it because its a pain. My refrigerator compressor went out the beginning of June 2019. LG uses a company called A&E for repairs. When I called them they told me they only had one technician in my area. I finally got my refrigerator fixed today. September 11, 2019. The compressor was fixed 2 weeks ago but the day after it was fixed the icemaker went. I went without a refrigerator for two months and without ice for over 3 months. I have had to buy bagged ice for 3 months.I finally had enough with A&E and the rudeness I dealt with there. I refused them to do the repairs. LG said they got someone else to do the repairs, only thing is they never called him to set up for repairs to be done. Not once but twice. Thankfully I had his number and he made time to fix the refrigerator. His company is called Umbrella appliance repair and his name is Said. Not sure of last name. He is from Williamsburg VA. I would recommend him and give him the highest respect. He came even though they didnt call him like they said not once but twice, they had me wait all day and he didnt even know he was supposed to be here to do repairs. He worked until after 8 p.m.My husband passed away 3 yrs. ago, the person that took my info got it wrong and somehow when they sent the parts to my house, parts I didnt know were coming, came in my dead husbands name. Can you imagine getting a pkg. on your front steps with your deceased spouses information on it. Also during all of this mess my mother passed away. I had family coming in from all over the country and no refrigerator to keep food and no way to make ice. I had people here from Wisconsin, California and Pennsylvania. This has been a nightmare I wouldnt wish on anyone. Over 2 months without a refrigerator 3 months without my icemaker. LG should be ashamed. I would never recommend them to anyone and I promise I will never buy LG products again. The worst customer service ever, from LG and A & E repair services. Debbie **

I purchased my new LG French 3 door refrigerator March 2016. The product worked fine for 3 years (almost to the day) until the compressor failed. LG sent a repairman from a appliance repair company affiliated with LG, and replaced the compressor (LG paid for the replacement, I paid to replace all the spoiled groceries). This compressor lasted only 6 months! Again LG sent a repairman and replaced the compressor. (LG paid for the replacement, I paid to replace all the spoiled groceries). The 3rd compressor has now lasted only 1 month!!!!! LG has just scheduled another repairman to come this Monday. This will be the 4th compressor in 3.5 years of the life of this refrigerator. LG has a responsibility at this point to replace this appliance. This is a refrigerator that cost several thousands of dollars and LG markets how long their appliances last but based on their online reviews and lawsuits, over compressors, this is not the case. New compressors are clearly a short-lived band-aid to what is clearly a bigger problem and this product is no longer worth the dollars and aggravation spent dealing with it.

Updated on 10/22/2019: My three year old LG refrigerator quit making ice, freezer and fridge broken! Compressor and other parts bad, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. After several weeks, and repairman just deciding to not show up, repair was made and LG paid for all of it, as they should have. Here we are six weeks after repair and freezer no longer making ice and items in freezer thawing. I had asked the repairman if his repair was going to work since I have little faith in anything LG and he told me “probably not because they send the same defective parts.” Well, he was right! I sent a message to LG and I am being ignored. The last repair would have cost me $1600 for a THREE YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR! Now, apparently, they don’t want to stand by the “repair.” I will NEVER buy another LG product. Original Review: My refrigerator is three years old and it wont make ice, freezer and fridge compartment dont work! On Sat. Oct 18, 2014, my brother went into the LG fridge to get something, when he called out to get my attention. I thought it was smoke from oven. All attempt to locate fire in the oven was lean. I opened the kitchen window to air out the smoke. A few minutes later, my son goes to the same fridge in search of something and calls out with a more assured voice, dad I think the smoke is coming from the refrigerator. Upon getting back to the fridge, I opened the fridge part. It was smoke filled. The light was out. Toward the bottom of the fridge, I discovered that the egg carton on top of the cold buckets was on fire. It was still burning. The 18 count egg carton was totally top obliterated, plus a hole ate to the bottom. Bad deal.We recorded the whole experience and took a few pictures. I called LG and spoke to a rep who seemed to be empathetic. LG decided they would have a technician contact me, but non was available for the next two weeks. The rep told us that she would call me the next day after getting to work, at about 08:30, with a possible contact. She didnt. When my wife called them, she got nothing but the run around. Two days later, I spoke with a rep who was not getting to the bottom of the issue. Then I requested to talk to a manager. The manager patched the issue over to the Executive team, who made the decision after seeing the videos and pictures, that the fire was no fault of theirs. LG never sent a technician to look at my LG refrigerator. LG said people call and complain for different reasons. Thats subject to anyones interpretation. The long and short of the story is that cold refrigerators should never burn inside. It should smother out fire, not attract it.

Purchased an LG refrigerator appx 4 years ago. Stopped working, not cooking. Called numerous repair providers to see if they can fix. Nobody I can find would look at LG product. Called LG directly to see if they can find someone that I can call. Ended up purchasing an out of warranty contract through LG called Assurant. For 2 months now I have had a non-working refrigerator. I have had numerous providers get scheduled to come to my home only for them to not show leaving me having to keep calling Assurant. I was advised by Assurant that it is from LG that they get the list of service providers so they have no way of knowing anything about them except the location to my home. Finally 2 months later and 3 service providers I was informed that my refrigerator was going to cost too much for LG to repair and they would total it out. The coolant system was shot along with the compressor. When you call to check the status of getting this taken care of I am told that they do not have anyone certified to fix the coolant system. But I was granted permission to find my own service provider to come out and fix it but the catch... not only would I have to pay out of pocket, while the provider was at my home I had to call Assurant and have the provider speak to them in order for them to reimburse me for services. I said that was unacceptable. A supervisor informed me that since the refrigerator is less than 7 years old and its the sealant system, LG would be responsible for replacing it.Again, I get on the phone with LG to file a claim for a defected item. After 4 days of not hearing anything I called today Only to be told by 2 supervisors that they cant do anything. I was given the option to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed but they denied my claim to have it replaced. Didnt matter what I said, the customer service at LG has the most disrespectful people.I am not in a position to pay $1200 out of pocket to try and get reimbursed and all they can say was, I cant help you. They do not want to acknowledge the fact that their product is defected and the sealant/coolant system is not working. They can provide names to me but wont pay for it because under my contract that they sold me, nobody is certified to do the work. So how am I supposed to have this fixed?? I have 3 kids and my husband needs to keep his medication refrigerated. So for 2 months after purchasing a contract, I have been keeping food cold in a cooler with ice. Totally unacceptable. All LG can say is sorry I do apologize . After just speaking to one of ten supervisors at LG, and stating that I will be contacting the better business bureau and consumer affairs she said, Go ahead, do what you want. Like I need her permission? No I need them to stand behind their product which they do not. So now I am told I can cancel my contract in writing and since they cant help me, they will refund all of $100 of the amount I paid. Still leaves me with no refrigerator and nobody at LG willing or able to look at something that is defected unless I choose to pay out of pocket. Absolutely absurd. This company is the worst. I am so sorry I ever purchased a product from them and whats even worse is the horrible customer service.

This morning I tried to clean the over. I started with the easy clean procedure. There were still stains left, so I used oven cleaner from Smart & Final. I followed the directions on the can, but everywhere I sprayed the oven cleaner besides the inside of the door has become stained. Its almost as if the paint has been eaten away. I also didnt realize the difference between easy clean and self cleaning. Big difference! It seems as if the blue paint isnt up to oven cleaning products.

I did not choose my LG refrigerator. It came with the house or condo I bought and was in the kitchen and I wont replace or buy something new when not needed. It will be saved and used in or on something else. Keeps food fresh so that I always have something I can eat or fix for my family and if thirsty they can also find something to drink and it will taste good. But maybe keep my cat and or dog food to keep fresh also and keep things to drink and consume when it is wanted.

16th May 1st complaint that fridge was freezing and leaking and getting mould. Technician came and tried to fix it. 25th July 2nd complaint still doing it. Technician came and said he would find out how to fix it and order parts but it would take 6-8 weeks. Never heard from them again. 16th October 3rd complaint technician attended and told me that the fridge was unfixable. That it would need to be replaced. Waited 2 weeks. Heard nothing, contacted the “customer care line” they told me I had refused to allow it to be fixed. You tell me. What sane person refuses to have their fridge fixed?2/12 4th technician attended took photos, was here for 2 minutes and left. Every couple of days I have contacted the so called customer care team and they tell me that the technician hasn’t sent a report. The technician tells me he has and has sent it also to the state manager. Every two days I get told someone will call me back. NOBODY has ever called me back. Today it’s the 18/12/19 and I am putting Christmas food in to a fridge full of mould and just want to cry my eyes out.

I purchased a new LG Microwave Nov, 2018. It stopped heating during the coronavirus. I went to LG who said they might be able to help, but nobody ever called or emailed. They said unplug it and plug it back in thru Facebook. I called their recommended service provider and they said it would be cheaper to just get a new one. I waited a couple of weeks, and still havent heard so we had to go buy a brand new microwave. DO NOT BUY LG. All they had to do was fix it or refund me. This is absolutely the worst time to go without a microwave and have terrible service on top of it.

We bought a beautiful looking top loading LG washer and dryer from Sears in Eureka, California in September 2011 for our second home in Humboldt County. We didnt purchase an extended warranty - although looking back, we should have done so. Because the appliances are installed in a second home (to this date, April 2013), they have been used about 12 times total.Suddenly, during a visit to this second home in mid-February, the dryer quit drying; there was no heat at all. We did the trouble-shooting with LG Customer Service to no avail. Then we contacted Sears to arrange for a repair. We returned to the home at the end of March, and the repairman came to the house. His analysis showed that the heating element needs to be replaced, which he had to order. As the repairman was leaving, he told us that he is about the only one in the area who will tackle fixing LG appliances because they are so poorly made. He mentioned that our washer is probably on a recall list. Sure enough, the washer - Serial Number (WT5001CW) is on the LG recall list. So now, I am attempting to make sure that the only repairman in the whole area who will touch LG appliances is prepared and scheduled to come to our second home when we can schedule ourselves to be there and can fix both appliances! It is hard to believe that these appliances are so poorly made, that they both are broken after having been used a handful of times! They look great but apparently are pieces of crap; and they cost a lot of money. What is the matter with these corporations and their quality control? Do these people really think I will ever buy another LG appliance again? And is it really worth the (certainly temporary) health of their bottom line to continue to sell these shoddy products? And what else do disgruntled customers do? They tell everyone they know about their negative experience with these products. Shame on LG!

The one time I did have to call for a problem, it was obvious that the person was reading from a script. They could not offer any help or answer my questions. I ended up finding an answer to my problem online.

LG front load washer (WM0642HW) - The washer vibrates horribly when in the spin cycles! Our whole house shakes! You can hear the vibration outside the home! The floor vibrates when washer is in spin cycle! We have bought several different kinds/brands of shock-absorbers and installed them under each leg of the washer. Still no help! This is obviously a manufacturing defect. We called LG and they sent a certified LG appliance repair man to our home. All he would tell us was: LG makes a great product and use less than half the recommended amount of detergent to control the ‘smell’.” This is my second contact to you. Do you have other complaints against LG for this same problem? LG should replace my unit. I am willing to trade down just to get rid of this vibration! I have matching dryer. Together, these appliances were $1900.00!

We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door refrigerator. We’ve been without that fridge for THREE WEEKS now!! LG’s customer svc. is shameful. They think 3 wks isn’t unreasonable to live without a fridge. It took 2 wks & dozens of phone calls, hanging on hold for over 10 mins. to even get an LG certified tech assigned to our case. Took another week for THEIR certified tech to receive the new compressor from LG parts. (LG refuses to expedite shipping even when we offered to pay for it). He came, installed the new one & it’s STILL doesn’t work!!!!Admittedly, we were enamored by their products. We drank the “Life’s Good” Koolaid. The only element that differentiates one manufacturer, from another is their customer service when things go wrong. It’s easy to spew “Life’s good” mantra when people are spending millions on your products. It’s what a company does to help its brand loyal customers WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - that is the true measure of their worth. I was an LG brand loyal consumer. I’m over that now & hope to warn others so this nightmare doesn’t happen to them. My neighbor had a similar compressor problem with their Samsung fridge. They received a full refund for what they paid for it, in TWO DAYS!One of my husband’s cancer meds requires refrigeration. Even knowing that, LG customer service reps give the same rehearsed canned response; “we’re sorry for your inconvenience”. 1) They’re NOT “sorry” & 2) Being without a fridge for the whole month of August is considered well beyond “inconvenience”!!! They’re doing NOTHING except continuing to try to get it repaired at a snail’s pace. There’s NO possibility of getting anything done quick with them. I offered to give them MY FedEx acct. # to overnight another compressor. No, they can’t even do that. If I could afford to put this piece of garbage on the curb for trash pick-up, I would. But we bought all new appliances knowing we were going to be retiring & these were supposed to last us as we prepared to live on our fixed incomes. I would go buy a similar fridge by another brand manufacturer if I could, but we’re not drawing the salaries we once did. LG expects us to wait ANOTHER 3 wks or longer to see if their tech can replace the compressor, again. When asked if they could overnight it - no, that’s not their policy. They are a disgrace!!!

We purchased our set (LG Tromm DLG8388NM Washer and Dryer) in 2006 and for the first two years, everything seemed to work well. But now, the washer leaks, the drum is corroded with black disgusting gunk that is difficult to get to let alone clean. The clothes stink even after washing them twice, with bleach and fabric softener. The dryer spins but there aren’t any heat. We spent over $2,500 on the set from Home Depot and have been disappointed to say the least. We also had a bad experience with an LG dishwasher and refrigerator. Both had to be replaced a year after purchase. We spent a total of $6,500 on LG products and they have not lived up to their Lifes Good name. My suggestion is not to roll the dice with any of their products because you will be angry and frustrated.

I purchased a LG refrigerator from Abt Electronics in 12/15. Less than 8 months, the ice maker was not working. The manufacturer came out, ordered the part and had it delivered to my house the next day. He returned to install it. Then less than 18 months after purchasing the new refrigerator, it started making a strange noise. The next morning, there was water in it.Called LG and was told the warranty was up since it was over a year old to call Abt and use my extended warranty service. Called Abt, they diagnosed the problem as it needing a new condenser! Had to wait on the part. Returned a week later installed the condenser. Later the same day, the panel on the doorways showing an error code and the ice maker or water dispenser wouldnt work nor was it cooling in the refrigerator but the freezer was working. Used my extended service warranty again, had to wait a week to get the part and reschedule another service call. They came out to install the fan.I have now had all three major parts on this less than 1.5 year old LG refrigerator. What else can go wrong now? Thank goodness I had an old 30 year old refrigerator in my garage to use as a backup! Wouldnt ever buy an LG refrigerators again. Hoping this last five years! My earlier refrigerator lasted 22 years with no repairs. I just bought a new one since I had my kitchen remodeled!

I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010CW washer for years now. I went through the mold issue and solved it with common sense. Im not disparaging anyone here with mold issues but these suggestions fixed my issue which was minor in comparison.Clean out the filter at the bottom of the machine; then run a clean cycle with a cup of vinegar. Pour it into the dispenser for detergent, not the bleach dispenser. When the cycle is done, re-clean the filter and wipe out interior with vinegar. Get out the goop manually. Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe out the entire compartment with vinegar. Allow to air dry overnight leaving out the drawer. Replace the drawer and run a rinse to remove the vinegar. Quit using fabric softener or dryer sheets and switch to an unscented powder detergent. You need to be able to smell the machine. Use 2 tbsp. per load for moderate water, 1 if your water is soft. Adjust up or down as needed from there. Fill the softener compartment with white vinegar. Run an extra rinse on every load to work on the buildup. If you are using scented detergent and its still strong-smelling after the cycle, it isnt rinsing out. To monitor rinsing, add a gallon of water through dispenser drawer during rinse cycle, or more if needed, to see water. If detergent isnt rinsing out, either the oil or dirt is in your clothes. Do this for a month or so as every load of clothes will be reintroducing mold to your machine. Fabric softener is made from animal fat and will get rancid and breed mold. It also leaves fatty, greasy residue on your clothes that detergent must cut through. Detergents are alkaline so the mold in your washer needs that environment. The vinegar is a mild acid. Once your washer is back to normal and you have detergent dosage worked out, use a max of a tbsp. of softener or mix softener (50/50) with vinegar. The clean cycle on your washer is for maintenance. It isnt designed to eradicate a major problem. It took awhile for the machine to get in such bad shape and it will take time to fix it.

I like so many others, purchased my French Door LG refrigerator on 11/13/2015. Almost four weeks ago I walked into the kitchen and discovered a puddle of water on the floor. Called a local repair service and they came over and said it was the board. They ordered a new one, which took two weeks to get. Installed it and guess what, that wasnt the problem. Its the compressor! I has to call a certified LG repair service and they have ordered the new part, said it will take 7-10 days to get. So hopefully by the end of next week it will arrive. In the meantime after reading all of these complaints I have called NBC News Better Get Bacquero and am also filing a complaint with the District Attorney in NYS. I suggest that everyone who has these issues (there seem to be over 1900 of us) do the same thing. By the way, if you check out the complaints re: the Kenmore refrigerators also made by LG there are a total of over 4000 complaints. Something needs to be done!!

Slick and smooth with an Ice dispenser. The ice dispensed was fairly large and the handle was curved. The fridge itself was of average size. The freezer section wasnt unnecessarily large and was all the space I really ever required. The fridge could have been larger though, but not for its price. The size of the fridge couldve been larger with less unnecessary pullout shelves and more standard shelves. The door shelves were decent though. The production the the aforementioned ice was also somewhat long as well. The price of the refrigerator is what caught my attention. Then again, the fridge was on sale and wasnt at its standard market value, thus this opinion could be skewed or biased.

We purchased our gas range from Home Depot. The first range had a gas leak and home Depot replaced it with the exact same. Down the road the knob for the oven head broken. I called LG and mentions the broken oven knob and also mentioned that we had smelled gas coming from the stove. They sent out a technician to fix the oven knob but not check to see if the stove was leaking gas. We experienced natural gas smells on and off in our kitchen. So then I decided to call again and then they sent someone out to check on the gas leak. It was leaking gas due to a manufacturer defect just like the very first stove. This gas leak had been going on for about 9 months. LG has horrible customer service, long wait times on the phone and they do not care that this natural gas that has been leaking from their stove has caused health issues for all of our family members. The health issues that we as a family have experienced are lightheadedness, burning eyes, headaches, ringing of the ears, flu like symptoms, breathing problems and chest pains. After the repair of the gas leak we called LG to let them know we do not feel comfortable with having their gas range in our home after this being the second one that has been leaking natural gas. They did not care. They did not show concern. They were not willing to provide a new unit. The care of this company is not about the well-being of their customers. We have also had trouble with the refrigerator and dishwasher being stainless steel having rust on them. I did also bring this up during the phone call but they said thats not their problem. Not sure how you can call something stainless steel put your name on it and then say its not your problem. All of these experiences that we have had with our kitchen appliances happened within the first year we bought them. I hope this helps others make a informed decision on purchasing LG products.

I caution all consumers about buying LG products. Life is NOT Good when you
I caution all consumers about buying LG products. Life is NOT Good when you buy their products. I purchased an electric LG range, model #LDE3017SW February 2013 from Home Depot for $1,649.00. Little did I know at the time that this would be the worst purchase of my life. I say this without a smidgen of exaggeration.I do not bake a lot so my oven stayed fairly clean. With Thanksgiving approaching, I thought I would use the self-clean feature for the first time. About two hours into the cycle, the oven stopped working completely. The digital display was completely dark and the oven doors locked and would not open even though the oven is completely cool and inoperable.I called LG and their phone representative told me that I was not alone, that this has been a problem with this particular oven and that the thermostat needed replacement. First, my warranty had expired and needed to be extended. I was asked to scan my receipt with the serial and model numbers. I did this the next day.Hearing nothing back from LG regarding the status of the warranty extension, I called them back. Initially the LG phone representative told me that they had not received my scanned receipts but then, after putting me on hold, he found them. He said that his supervisor had not made a decision about whether or not my warranty would be extended. I ask him how I would be contacted when such a decision was made and he told me that I needed to keep calling LG back. After one week of calling LG back I was informed that my warranty would indeed be extended. I was told that I should call the repair company that LG contracts within my area, Heavenly Cool, to have the replacement part installed. I asked the LG phone representative if the repair person would have the correct part and be able to fix the oven when they came to my house. He assured me that they would, that this repair with this particular oven occurred frequently and that it was just a routine repair.I called Heavenly Cool the next day and spent about an hour on the phone trying to set up a repair appointment. I gave them my model and serial number and was told that the repair person would have the part in-hand and be able to fix my oven. I took time off work so I could be home for the repair. While waiting at home for the repair, the repair person called me and asked for my model and serial number. He said no one had given it to him ahead of time and he would have to check and see if he had the proper part with him and call me back. I was stunned. I waited for his call. He called back and said that he could NOT come to my house that day because he did not have the part to fix my oven.I went from patient to stunned to righteously angry. I called Heavenly Cool and they did not know what the glitch was with communication but they would be glad to reschedule when the part came in! How much time can I take off work???? I felt that I was lied to. I called LG and explained my situation and they said that they would have to call Heavenly Cool to verify. I was put on hold. The LG phone representative resumed the call with me and said that, indeed, I had communicated the current situation accurately and that I just had to wait until the part came in for the repair. I said that taking more time off work was not an option at this point and he said that if this repair person had 2 or 3 other repair jobs in my area that they would come at a time convenient to me. Wow! So if the sun, moon, and stars all aligned properly I could have the repair done sometime after work?I asked to speak with a LG supervisor and was given Eric. I re-explained the whole situation and he apologized for my inconvenience. I asked Eric how he could help me and he said that I would just have to wait for the part to come in and for the attempted repair to occur. If the part did not fix the oven, then I might have to wait even longer for repair. At this point, 12 days had gone by since my oven became inoperable. Taking off work and eating out is becoming very expensive! I will be having 30 people at my house for Thanksgiving! I had done nothing wrong but use the self-cleaning oven feature that LG uses as a selling point for this product and now I was without a working oven. I asked Eric if LG would replace my oven under these circumstances and he, of course, said no and there was nothing else he could do from his end. All Eric could do was apologize for my inconvenience. Since Eric did not have the power to make this right, I asked to speak to Erics supervisor. Eric told me that there was no one with higher authority at LG than him. Wow! Eric apologized again for my inconvenience.I found this website and I see that I am not alone in my frustration but I am very alarmed that LG ranges sometimes catch on fire! I did notice that the bottom of my double oven seemed to get too hot and did not evenly cook food. Because there is a safety issue with LG products, I do not even want to use their products. I will never purchase anything from LG again! I will tell everyone I know not to purchase their products. If LG wants to stay in business, they should make things right for their customers! It is now almost two weeks since my oven broke and LG has done nothing effectively to correct the problem. I have, unfortunately, learned a very expensive lesson. The only good that can come of this is to warn other potential, unsuspecting victim consumers about the potential perils of purchasing LG products.

My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.

We bought our LG French Door (door in door) Bottom Freezer Refrigerator in October of 2014 |Model#LMXS30776S/00| when we built our home (along with an LG dishwasher, stove, microwave and washer and dryer). At $3,999.00, we really hoped it would last without problems. Unfortunately I didnt read any reviews before purchasing ALL LG appliances... what a mistake! On September 18, 2017, I came home from work to find that everything in my refrigerator was barely cool and everything in the freezer had completely melted! My brother-in-law is an electrician and works on appliances so I called him to check it out. After determining that the compressor had gone bad, we called LG to order the part. We spoke to someone who transferred us to tech support. When we requested the part, they said they needed an LG certified technician authorization code and we couldnt order the part because my brother-in-law was not a certified LG repairman. They gave me the numbers of 3 certified technicians that were over 100 miles away because there were none in my area. After calling them to come diagnose the problem so LG would make good on the 10-year compressor warranty, they refused to come out because... and I quote... we dont like to work on LG appliances because they are a pain and good luck finding someone to work on it. Not to mention it wouldve been upwards of $500.00 for them to travel that distance just to verify that it was actually the compressor when we already knew that. So we called LG back and told them we couldnt get an LG repairman to come look at it but that we knew the problem so could we please just order the part. They were extremely rude to both myself and my brother-in-law and would not even let us order the part. So I paid almost $4000.00 for this refrigerator that lasted less than 3 years, and I have no right to access the parts even though the LG service centers in my area will not come to my home and diagnose the problem. We went on Sears Parts Direct and found the compressor for $250.00 thank goodness and my brother-in-law is installing it. I still find it ridiculous that I have to pay out of pocket for a part that is supposedly covered under warranty... but I will gladly pay that just to not have to deal with talking to them on the phone again. If you buy a super expensive LG thinking it will last, think again. And if the fact that the parts are covered under warranty gives you peace of mind and they will make good on the warranties... dont count on it. Moral of the story... dont buy an LG anything. Fingers crossed that my other appliances last longer than this one did.

So disappointed in this product and customer service! My husband and I built a house in 2017. Bought all of our appliances range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator all in a bundle from Lowe’s in Bedford, IN. So elated about having a new house with all new appliances! My elation quickly turned in to total frustration! Only after 14 months of use the compressor went out. Let me repeat that AFTER 14 MONTHS! After several phone calls to the store, the customer info center the Lowe’s Extended Protection number. No one I spoke with could give us the same answers to any of our questions. It took weeks to get a service rep to even look at it and when he finally arrives and determined the compressor was bad he had no replacement with him. Had to be ordered which took awhile to arrive, a few more weeks before they could come back to install the new one. Only after cancelling and having to reschedule that appointment in which I had to miss work to be available to let him in to service the refrigerator. A loaner was offered at one point in time but I was told that could take a week to deliver not knowing that the replacement part would not be available on the first visit I declined. Was also told by one representative that we could just replace the refrigerator then only to be told by another that was not the case. I wrote down all the names of every one I spoke with and even had each one send me our dictated conversation in e-mail. They would not stand by their word. Never could I get a manager on the phone. Was always told that Customer Service does not have one. Most call centers operate off of a 3 tier system so I found it hard to believe that one. It took a total of 12 weeks to have the issue fixed Missed days at work, food loss, all the phone calls and time spent talking on the phone and getting no real answers. Was told at one point we could use a local repair man and the Extended Protection Plan that we purchased would cover the cost only to be told by someone else that it would NOT and if we chose that route it would void the EPP all together. Could had it fixed in 2 days as opposed to 12 weeks. The whole reason I am writing this review today is because after going through all of this our freezer isn’t defrosting correctly and therefore the ice maker isn’t working, the food in the freezer is barely frozen. The temp is set on minus 4 but the thermometer has placed on the inside barely reads 32 degrees. Here we go again!!!! So disheartening to spend so much money that you work so hard for on a product and to be so disappointed by it and the customer service that you have to deal with. We purchased a French door ice maker fridge in 2011. LG GCP197DPSL- 560 L - $1600 (Lemon). One year later the ice maker kept jamming up and would not dispense ice. This then made ice crystals form that covered the inside of the freezer door causing ice crystals to fall all over the floor when the door was opened. 5 years, two replacement doors. 1 ice maker bin, dozens of calls to LG and numerous service calls at $75 each time and we still do not have a fridge/freezer that will make ice or not frost over inside. LG say they will not offer any more assistance or support or any kind of refund or compensation to us... LG fridges are the worst. Do not buy one. LG customer service (3rd world call centre) is an insulting joke of stalling and non commitment to help their customers in any way... Joke.

Our LG refrigerator died 2 years after we bought it. It is covered by the warranty but they cannot fix it in time before we move (in a month). They wont replace it or help us out. So unapologetic and cold. There is a class action lawsuit against them. They should recall and replace all of these bad refrigerators. Bad business practices. So disap

This was my first major purchase after the death of my husband, and I did my due diligence, I thought. After much research, I went with the LG. It has been wonderful, until it stopped making ice, then no cold water, then the freezer stopped working and finally the fridge portion. I called 2 different companies for their estimates. Both told me to throw the refrigerator out. It is only 5 years old. Cost me almost 2500.00 new from Brandsmart. After reading online reviews I find this is happening to many consumers and all with the same problem. I feel so cheated. My advice is to stay with Whirlpool, GE, or KitchenAid.

I cooked below the microwave. The steam and heat from cooking and combined with cooking in the microwave has crumbled the plastic that secures the lower handle. It is now taped on. A new door is 260 dollars. I cant afford that. What good is a microwave if you cant use it? Really!!!!
