Ordered this fridge after being told and seeing advertised by LG that it was counter depth, it is not. Advertised by LG the finish was fingermark resistant. It is not and is horrible to clean. Very noisy for a top of the line LG, very disappointed in their advertising deception.

I used to have Frigidaire microwave and gas range via home builder (cheap builder), and it was total garbage and worthless. Its total game changer after I replaced with LG microwave and gas range after three years with Frigidaire. LG has great functionalities with dependability. Im also planning to replace my Kenmore refrigerator with LG signature refrigerator whenever its ready to go. LG is not very reliable on smartphones and/or tablets as Samsung electronics, but if you consider about buying home appliances and/or smart TVs, LG is the right choice.

We purchased a refrigerator LFX31925SW, which I thought was top of the line. 2 months shy of 3 years, the compressor went out. Of course it was out of warranty. I did call LG tech support/customer service and they gave me the phone number of an LG authorized repair company. I called, they had retired, gone out of business. I called LG back, numerous times, I even used the chat online, I was told the same thing each time, it had to be an LG repairman. We live in a small town, kind of rural, I explained to them (over and over) that I had tried for 2 weeks to find someone to come and check our refrigerator, they kept insisting that they have LG repairmen all over the country. Someone would get back to us. Well, 2 weeks after that I received a message on my phone that they would go ahead and approve the one company I was able to get a hold of to replace the compressor (the compressor has a 10-year warranty). When I spoke to the repair company they had spoken with someone at LG, but LG had not faxed the authorization. I have called LG numerous times and get a different response every time. We have now been without our refrigerator a month now. We paid 2500.00 for this fridge from Home Depot 2 and a half years ago, you would think it would last or that LG would honor their commitment. I do not see us buying LG ever again in the future.

I’ve loved my LG till it just stopped cooling. Lost everything in fridge and freezer. LG’s customer service is horrible. One rep said I just needed to replace the water filter. Waiting for repairman that I found (they supplied a list and all the phone numbers were LG’s main number).

The inside of my LG front loader washing machine started on fire while it was running on 3/11/15. Fire was contained to the inside wiring/hoses of the machine. Eventually started the dryer on fire as it was right next to it. Called 911 & the fire was put out by the firemen as I waited outside (I was unaware of the cause of the fire at that time as my entire basement was filled with smoke and I ran outside immediately). The entire house is almost unbearable from the smell of the smoke.Called LG and having a difficult time communicating with anyone. Not really sure who else to contact as I seem to be getting nowhere. So far, LG has not been helpful whatsoever.

LGs black stainless steel microwaves are gorgeous. Functionality and ease of use is great. It also cooks well inside not just top of food hot. Downside is how easy to leave fingerprints. Price is a little high, but when you get a bundle of appliances, it is reasonable.

Earlier this year we purchased a new LG Washer (WM4270HWA) and Dryer (DLEX4270W) through The Home Depot. The washer was delivered and installed in our home on Feb 21st, 2015. The dryer arrived on March 2nd. Both machines operated beautifully for about 8 months. They are MUCH quieter than our previous 20+ year old machines, have a nice feature set, and save water. However, in early October, the washing machine developed a leak and dumped a LOT of water. Fortunately, we had taken the precaution of placing the washer in an overflow pan, so there was no apparent damage to our home. I initially contacted LG warranty support to have the washing machine fixed on October 6th, 2015. On the good side, I found their representatives to be quick to answer my phone calls and they were always courteous. On the bad side, they are completely ineffective and incompetent. Ultimately, I fixed it myself.6 October 2015, 9:45 AM EST, I called LG Warranty support to report the issue. I spoke with the representative and provided the washing machine serial number. The representative verified that the washer was under warranty and stated that I would receive a call in 2-3 days from the service scheduling team to schedule a service appointment. I requested and received an incident reference number. 8 October 2015, 11:10 AM EST, I contacted LG to check status on the service appointment. The representative indicated that scheduling team may take 3-5 business days to schedule an appointment.13 October 2015, 11:30 AM EST, I contacted LG to determine why I had not yet been contacted to schedule an appointment. I was informed that the Service Scheduling Team had started the search for a local service provider on the 8th and that the search should be resolved on the 15th. I was told that if they could not schedule an appointment, they would arrange to replace the machine. The representative stated that the time to resolve the service request was unknown. The representative also indicated that the request had been escalated to the top-tier scheduling department, but that it was not possible to check status or contact anyone in that department directly.15 October 2015, 5:55 PM EST, I received a phone call from an LG service representative. They had made arrangements to have the washer serviced and the service representative Jeff (last name & phone number omitted) would contact me shortly with appointment details. I called Jeff directly to confirm and received a message that his voicemail was full. I left a callback number. 16 October 2015, 8:10 AM EST Called Jeff again. The voicemail was still full. Left my callback number again. 1:40 PM EST Called Jeff again and left a voicemail. Jeff eventually returned the call and we scheduled a service call on 19 October.19 October 2015, Jeff arrived at the house and spent about an hour on the phone with LG. He did not disassemble the washing machine nor inspect it in any significant way. He did order a replacement pump. I was informed that the part should arrive later that week. 27 October 9:25 AM EST, I called and left a message for Jeff to find out status and set up a time for the repair. I requested that he call me back as soon as possible with this information. 2 November 2015, 8:00 AM EST, I called and left a message with Jeff to get status and schedule the repair. I requested a call back that day with status.6 November 2015, 7:20 PM EST, I called LG Customer Service to find out what was going on. The service representative was aware that a technician had been assigned and parts ordered. I explained that the technician had visited, ordered a part, and had been unresponsive for 3 weeks. She attempted to contact the technician while I was on hold and could not (no surprise, it was after business hours on a Friday). The service representative indicated she would contact the technician on Monday and call me with status. 7 November 2015, 1:00 PM EST - After a month with NO effective action and washing laundry at the neighbors house, I removed the top of the machine, ran a 15-minute cycle, and identified the source of the leak as a disconnected vent hose in the left rear corner of the washer. I Googled for service diagrams and found it was the hose at the top of part F430 in the diagram. 2:20 PM EST I called LG, explained the situation with the technician and my lack of satisfaction. I requested a service manual be sent immediately. The representative took my email address and claimed the service manual had been sent.3:00 PM EST I contacted LG via live chat and inquire whether the service manual had been sent. The representative on the chat stated he could not access the manual.3:25 PM EST, I called LG again. The representative read my email address back and it had been recorded incorrectly (though we had verified it on the phone the first time!). I verified the correct email address again and she resent the manual. 3:45 PM EST, I did a web search on LG drain vent hose routing and found a diagram showing the correct connection to a fitting on top of the washer drum. I reconnected the hose and since then the washer has been fine. The LG representative that I spoke with on 6 November did eventually call back and offered to start the scheduling process all over again with another service technician. I told her that their service was abominable and that I had repaired the issue myself. We were done. The service manual never arrived.I live in a major metropolitan area with over 1 million people within the county boundary. I am amazed that LG couldnt find a competent technician in the area that could provide prompt service. The inability to email a simple service manual after 3 attempts is equally ridiculous. I will say that most parts appear for the washer appear to be reasonably priced. In the course of my internet research, I found that most design flaws noted in earlier versions of the LG washer had been corrected in my washer. The fact that the hose popped off the fitting may have been a random occurrence. The machine has performed well since. Some closing thoughts: (1) Dont ever install ANY washing machine without an overflow pan that has been connected into your houses drain system, and (2) If you are considering the purchase of an LG appliance or other product, based on my experience, I wouldnt expect LG to honor their product warranties.

My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.

We have a WM2301HS bought in Sept 2010 and after a few months, we noticed that the are grease-like stains on some of the clothes, but not all the time. It is a pain to get those stains out. Some comments suggested the contents of the laundry are to blame, but judging from the complaints, we are not alone. Did anyone get this solved? All in all, this machine works great (and looks good). The only service call (yes, life was not good) we had at the beginning was to put a missing clamp on the bottom drain of the gasket (how could they miss that in assembly?).

The odor on my clothing and towels is absolutely offensive and I feel like everyone who comes close to me can notice it. I certainly hope that anyone who has a desire to purchase an LG front load washer reads all of these negative comments. I wiped out the inner rubber gasket. I could hardly get my finger inside of it and out came globs of black mold. I continue to run bleach through the machine as well as the fresheners that are recommended for front load washers. The odor still remains. I want my top load washer back, so I can return to Tide Mountain Spring detergent. My family was always complimented on how fresh our clothing smelled and I miss that! Shame on you, LG. You should be having a serious recall of all of these machines!

The authorized repair shop also has called and emailed to no avail. LG is the worst and I will never buy another LG product again.

Bought this $2600.00 LG refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago and of course it breaks 6 months after warranty expiration. Theres only one servicer in our area. They came to diagnose the problem right away the week before July 4th and company is coming. They ordered the parts from LG but after no contact with them for days we finally called them and they inform us that the parts (Compressor and board) are on back order for 4 weeks (JULY 21st). The back order date is four weeks out!! And we lost over $50.00 in food. Thank god it wasnt more!!We had to buy a Samsung floor model (Cheaper) to get us by and not lose more food. Every time I call to get an update because no one calls us back, I get a foreign speaking person I can hardly understand and placed on hold for 10-50 Minutes!!! I have been told that there are at least 9 people in our area (Valdosta Ga) with this exact same issue with their LG refrigerators!! This is not acceptable! There are a few in a worse circumstance than us, such as an elder couple that just had open heart surgery and no refrigerator now! A single mother with 5 children to feed. Now the only service company in our area doesnt seem to know where the board is and LG says it was delivered! The service center DDD in Albany/Adel says they use a different vender Marcone and it is on back order with them not LG?! WTH!

Purchased (4) LG appliances from Lowes. The dishwasher, model LDF7774BD has poorly designed racks... glasses and dishes fall over or roll around when you open and close the unit when adding additional dishes until it is full enough to run. I cant help but feeling like the refrigerator is a lemon, and its just a matter of time until the cost to continue repairing it is just not worth it. And its a shame I had to post on this site to get any kind of help from them, when they adamantly refused when we called. We purchased a new LG refrigerator when we purchased our home in 2017. We had renovations going on and our right hand door was damaged/dented by a contractor. The contractor offered to replace the door so I contacted an LG recommend appliance parts and service place to replace the door. A week later they returned with a substitute that did not work so they said they would be back a couple of weeks when the correct door came in, that was October 2018 and I have been waiting ever since. All my phone calls to the appliance repair people end with them saying it still has not come in, it’s on backorder. At one point I called LG who confirmed the door is on backorder! Seriously it has been almost a year. Of course I had to pay the appliance repair person for the house call even though I told them the door needed to be replaced due to dents but they said that money would go towards the new door. At this point I am not sure I am going to get a new door. Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I dont have 7 or so years later, and LG insists its required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. I purchased an LG WT5001CW top-load washer in March 2011. It now overfills the tub and will not agitate. It will spin out if you put on the spin cycle. It is one of the models with the smart diagnostics,” in which supposedly you can call LG and hold the phone near the machine and they can diagnose the problem with the machine. I called LG’s number for the smart diagnostics service and was asked what error code was displayed. When I told them that no codes were shown, they said they could not run the smart diagnostics program. Apparently, this feature is another of LGs false advertising ploys. They then gave me the name of the repair service in my city. I called this company and was told that they do not service any LG products. I have a relative who has operated an appliance repair business for over 30 years and he told me he will not touch LG products. I have not been happy with the machine since it was new. It runs the motor more than 50% longer than the old non-energy efficient machine it replaced. It may save a little water as at times the clothes have dry spots where they were never in the water. However, water is cheap in my city, but electricity is not cheap. So this machine overall costs more to run than the old machine. I sure wish I had found this site before purchasing this product. I will not buy LG again, that is for certain.

Ive had this fridge for over 3 years and it finally stopped cooling and making ice in April. LG has sent out 3 different technicians to repair it but none of them seems to know what is wrong with it. One tech said the issue was with the compressor, they ordered the part, when the tech came to install the new compressor he said there is nothing wrong with the compressor. It is the motherboard that went out. He returned to install the new motherboard and it is still not working. There is an issue with this particular fridge based on all the reviews Ive seen online. Purchased model #LFX25991ST January 2012. Within weeks the technician was out to fix the icemaker. He returned at least 2 times within the first year for the same problem. Within the first few months, the lettering on the face of the water dispenser had started to fade. By the end of the second year one of the plastic drawer covers had broken off (minimal use. No children in house.). Technician was back out the third year for icemaker. By February 2016 the fridge began making loud noises with on and off warm water, but was very minimum. With all the money already spent (did not purchase extended warranty as we had NEVER had problems with refrigerators in the past - other brand names), we had no energy left for this fridge. Then a couple days ago, no surprise, the entire thing quit with a loud bang. So heres the kicker. I called various service people on Monday. No one could come until Friday. Called LG and got hung up on once. Called back and after hold time, finally got to speak with someone who barely spoke English and was obviously reading from a script. He tried to troubleshoot with us over the phone then agreed that the fridge was dead. He provided 3 companies that they contract with to come out and look as the sealed system is under warranty for 7 years, some parts 10.So I proceeded to call these companies. One said he does not work on refrigerators, another said he will not touch this model number, and another kept hanging up on me. So I called another person I had initially spoken with. He still couldnt come out until Friday, but since the parts are under warranty, I would have to pay for labor which would be upwards of $400. And the best part of all is LGs policy as he explained - After the problem is diagnosed, I would have to call LG and get an authorization number, they would have to mail this to me for confirmation, then the parts would have to be ordered, then I would have to get on the schedule to have the repairs made. I am therefore without a fridge for close to a month. Debating to chuck it or go back to Whirlpool or KitchenAid. NEVER AGAIN will LG enter this house!

Total runaround. In the first year my knobs have melted, called and complained and they were not covered, they said I shouldn’t use the oven for heat! Sent an email complaint. They sent me new knobs. Year 2 the door is rusting inside behind the glass, again not covered, told it was a maintenance problem, the door is getting wet!! Inside!! Also the knobs have melted again, If the oven is in use and I take the knobs off the temperature of the front panel is more than 200 degrees. If you bump the knobs they turn the gas on. I have the extended warranty and still be charged for service and labor. Please tell me what is the purpose of an extended warranty! Model number Lrg3085st. Serial 505mmqhof948. I purchased LG washing machine model #WT5101HW on 6-26-2011. In December, I realized that the hot/cold cycle was not hot. The water was really not even warm. I called LG and after speaking to numerous people, they agreed to send a tech out. On December 20, 2011, the tech arrived only to inform me that it was an ongoing problem and there was nothing he could do. It was the way LG designed the machine. On the hot cycle, it adds both hot and cold water so that is why it is not hot. I was furious! I called LG and they informed me that if I wanted to wash my clothes in hot water to use the sanitary cycle which is a 3 hour cycle or the bright whites cycle. My washing machine has an internal heater that is supposed to heat the water to 122 degrees on bright whites and 158 on sanitary. On my bright whites, it is only 90 degrees and not sure what it is on sanitary. LG is advertising that they have a hot cycle when in fact it is not hot and it makes no sense to add cold water to perfectly good hot water and then heat it back up! How is this energy efficient? I called LG again today and now I am being informed that the heater only works on sanitary and if I want hotter water on my cycles, I need to turn up my hot water heater. On page 7 on the instruction manual, it clearly says, the heater increases water temperature and provides better cleaning for sanitary and bright whites.” So, even LG is admitting hotter water cleans better! This machine is a complete joke. LG should not be able to advertise that this machine has a hot cycle when it fact it does not.

I am so upset with LG Fridge and LG customer service. I bought my fridge in July 2011 and purchased 5 year extended warranty from HD. During that time we replaced compressor (June 2013). Today I had to pay $500 labor fee to replace a compressor again (the part it is still under 10 year warranty). I am devastated. I called LG and they were extremely nice repeated memorized sentences, when I was finally connected to a supervisor (20 minutes on hold). She was rude and impatient. Never had to deal with this kind of attitude. I would never buy anything from LG. I like class lawsuit idea. They should have a recall and waive charges related to replacing the same parts, obviously it is manufacturer poor quality.

I purchased an LG washing machine model # WT1101CW. Ive hated it since I got it home and started using it (9 months ago). It does wash the clothes fine, but then it attempts to spin dry, and there is the problem. The machine will sense that is out of balance (even just a little bit) and it re-fill the drum with water and agitate trying to balance the load. The clothes only get tied in knots through the agitation process. When it tries to spin dry again, its even worse. By the time the machine has stopped trying to spin dry, your clothes are sopping wet and tied in knots. Average time to wash, AND SPIN DRY a load of clothes, 2 - 4 hours, and several tubs of water (not very water or energy efficient).

Model LFX28978SB - For the 2nd time in the last 4 months, I have thrown away all of the food in our LG refrigerator/freezer. This refrigerator had the compressor replaced 4 months ago and then again, one month later. Now, apparently, the electrical board needs to be replaced. This is a $2,300+ appliance that is less than 5 years old. Just talked to the company that is actually doing the repair and apparently LG wont overnight the part we need because they are paying for the repair. If we are lucky, the part could arrive by Monday at 4:00. Too bad I have two kids and a husband that require 3 meals a day. As far as appliances, LG does NOT provide customers with reliable refrigerators. LG customer service is by far, the worst I have ever had to deal with. Sorry LG, but life is not good with you!!!

They spent a lot of time putting a lot of bells and whistles on the machine, however it does not do what is intended to do, wash clothes. Our old washer - we washed all the bedding. We tried to wash the down topper from the bed, so much air, would not get wet enough to wash. What a waste, worst we have ever had.

We bought a beautiful looking top loading LG washer and dryer from Sears in Eureka, California in September 2011 for our second home in Humboldt County. We didnt purchase an extended warranty - although looking back, we should have done so. Because the appliances are installed in a second home (to this date, April 2013), they have been used about 12 times total.Suddenly, during a visit to this second home in mid-February, the dryer quit drying; there was no heat at all. We did the trouble-shooting with LG Customer Service to no avail. Then we contacted Sears to arrange for a repair. We returned to the home at the end of March, and the repairman came to the house. His analysis showed that the heating element needs to be replaced, which he had to order. As the repairman was leaving, he told us that he is about the only one in the area who will tackle fixing LG appliances because they are so poorly made. He mentioned that our washer is probably on a recall list. Sure enough, the washer - Serial Number (WT5001CW) is on the LG recall list. So now, I am attempting to make sure that the only repairman in the whole area who will touch LG appliances is prepared and scheduled to come to our second home when we can schedule ourselves to be there and can fix both appliances! It is hard to believe that these appliances are so poorly made, that they both are broken after having been used a handful of times! They look great but apparently are pieces of crap; and they cost a lot of money. What is the matter with these corporations and their quality control? Do these people really think I will ever buy another LG appliance again? And is it really worth the (certainly temporary) health of their bottom line to continue to sell these shoddy products? And what else do disgruntled customers do? They tell everyone they know about their negative experience with these products. Shame on LG!

We bought an LG dishwasher in December of 2018 and just 4 months later it totally crapped out. We called LG and they wanted to send a service repairman that was more than two hours away from us. He wanted $1000 upfront to come out as he didn’t want to fight with LG to get paid. We said no. Not for a $700 dishwasher. So we got a guy who is only 40 minutes from our house and is very reputable to come and look at it. When he pulled it out he discovered the control switch had caught fire and burned a hole in the bottom of my cupboard! It could’ve burnt my house down!At time of purchase we bought an extended warranty only to find out it’s not worth the paper it’s written on because we live too far away from the city we bought it. Also the control panel was completely fried. They wouldn’t consider paying us for the guy that came out because he’s not registered with them. Still fighting with them to see if we can get our money back as we don’t want something that is a fire hazard in our house. Do not purchase LG products! They are crap.

We bought the 3 year warranty for peace of mind so you would think we would be set. The customer service is overseas which isnt a problem except a few of them were hard to understand. They gave us the runaround and after 3 days and many hours on the phone I started keeping detailed notes of my conversations. I asked a employee for their full name or employee number but was told they are not allowed to share that information making it impossible to keep track of people for future references. We ended up losing 90 % of the food in the freezer and all in the refrigerator! We are having to eat out every night and unable to keep leftovers for work. I told them that my son is diabetic and his insulin needs to be refrigerated as well as does the babys whole milk. They said it will be approximately 2 weeks before a service tech will be available. I cant leave the house and more specifically, I cant leave the laundry room (Im typing from the laundry room). It takes a couple of hours to wash one load of clothes. Water is never hot.The sink right next to the washer has hot water but I can barely get lukewarm for washing sheets and towels. Soaking clothes - well once I set it on soak and as soon as the machine filled, I turned it off, thinking it would soak until I restarted the washer. Wrong! The water slowly drains out. We purchased a $2000.00 refrigerator from Lowes a week ago and we already have to have the repair man out to fix a leak. He came to the first appointment right on time, diagnosed the broken line, and said he would order the part and call when it came in and to set the next appointment. Great! Well this was on Tuesday, it is now Saturday. I decided to call to see what is going on. I got a hold of the customer service rep and he advised me that the appointment was set for today being Saturday, between 1 and 3. I let him know that I had not received any call to set up any appointments, but OK Im home. It is now 5:30 pm, Saturday and no repair man, no call. I called Customer Service and the rude woman on the phone said he will be there between 1 and 5 pm. I explained to her the time I was told and she proceeds to argue with me, so I bit my lip and said OK. They came, said I had a loose wire, my fault, well before they got very far away dishwasher quit. Well to make a long story short, here it is August 18, and my dishwasher still does not work. LG keeps turning me over to AE service which I dont know who is more useless, every time they schedule someone I get a phone call within a few days of appointment from a service tech that either tells me I am too far away to service, or they no longer service LG due to not being paid, some say they cannot get parts, or get wrong parts. I have been told 3 times by LG service that I was being escalated to a buy back since I have had so many problems, but keep getting the run around. Today I was offered to buy an extended warranty, what a joke. At this rate it will be out of warranty before I ever see a repairman, she agreed, and said that’s a good reason to buy this extended repair warranty. If anyone wants to call me ** I am ready to get people together to contact the Better Business Bureau, if they have had the same issue, someone need to stand up for our consumer rights. The woman said, No problem, he will call you before he arrives. At 3;30 I called back. And asked what time was the man arriving. They responded this call has been cancelled, he arrived and left. I said he never called me on my cell, I am still waiting. They responded there is nothing we can do, call center is closed. I asked them what country are they in that the call center is closed. She said the call center is in Alabama and they are closed. They only work from 8-5pm. The woman in India never told the repairman to call me on the cell and I dont think that those people can call the repairman. The only one that can call is a supervisor and he is in another building. When I requested a supervisor, it took me 20 minutes on hold to finally speak to one. At the end, he ended up hanging up on me. Now I contacted Sears and will wait for them to find out if my refrigerator has a solution or do I just lose the $1500.00 that I paid four yrs ago. Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.

After three deliveries of same electric LG double convection oven exactly a year ago, finally had one that worked. We have had no problems with the heat in ovens but the black glasstop has spots beneath surface and burners come on by barely brushing against knobs. There should be a recall as weve come close to burning things on top of stove by accidental touch of knobs.

We purchased an LG dishwasher from Home Depot as part of a package for a kitchen remodel this summer. The dishwasher has been worthless. The only way to get clean dishes out of it is to wash them thoroughly by hand before loading... Add to that occasional flooding on the kitchen floor and a really unpleasant smell when the door is opened and you can see why I give this product one star. How I wish I had seen all these comments earlier. They certainly dont bode well for me getting any kind of customer satisfaction from LG.

Our LG is a beautiful-looking appliance and for 2 years I enjoyed most everything except for the water leaking out of the bottom on to my maple floor. I called several times just to speak to someone who said I would have to call an authorized service tech (only they are located 100+ miles away and want a lot of money to come to see if it can be fixed). The ice would build up on the freezer floor, so every week I would remove everything from the freezer, remove the ice, and then the next week do it all over again. Then 3 weeks ago the refrigerator portion just quit cooling. (It will get to 58 degrees and that is it.) Now I put all my perishables in my 20 year old Frigidaire. Nobody wants to come fix the LG and customer service needs a lot of training on being customer service.I also have an LG phone for 1 month -- JUNK. I just want to say when I go buy another refrigerator it wont be LG and I will do a lot of research before I give any of my hard-earned money to another company. By the way, I did not get an extended warranty because my other refrigerator is 20 years old and still works great! Should have not gotten a new one. If I worked or owned LG I would hide my face. This is the second complaint I have written on this product.

I bought a new LG WT7900 Washer (their top-of-the-line top-load machine) in May 2020 (3 months ago). The direct-drive motor now makes a very loud grinding noise (even though the motor has a 10-yr warranty). Ive since learned that this is a common issue thats been going on for nearly a year. I called the LG 800# found in the Owners Manual. They scheduled a repair appointment with their third-party repair service (A&E Factory Service, which also goes by the name Sears Appliance Repair... really????). I took the first-available a.m. appointment, thinking thatd increase my chances of them actually showing up.My Service appointment was scheduled for 7am-11am today (Aug 8, 2020). You guessed it... NO ONE showed up, or even bothered to contact me (other than a confirmation text I got yesterday). So I called their 800#, and was on hold an HOUR before getting a live person (guessing lots of people are having similar experiences since their phone lines are so busy??). When I finally get someone, he says he needs to put me on hold while he investigates the issue. But after being on hold another 10 minutes, the line disconnected. So now I have a brand new LG Washing Machine that doesnt work, and LG is taking no responsibility to fix it or replace it.

I purchased, in good faith, a new LG refrigerator (side by side) for over $2,200. The cooling system began degrading and I lost all contents in the fridge. The worst part of the experience is that LG did not provide support after many calls. I could not even connect with a senior leader in the company - all reps indicated their policy is to not provide contact information of any senior leader. I could not believe this. They did not care that I spent a great deal of money and faith in their product and the product failed and, they would not even stand behind it. Finally, after several weeks, they sent someone to examine it and made some changes. However, within a week, the temp increased back up to about 60 degrees. They would not send someone back out reasonably quickly, so I contacted a repair service. They came out a few months ago and replaced the compressor. All was fine until, once again, the temp began rising; this time over 65 degrees. I have been trying to get hold of someone who can help me at LG at no avail. I do not typically write reviews about products online (unless positive); however, I feel I have some level of responsibility to you and others to suggest you NOT buy an LG product. The product is not dependable and the service is even worse. Unless youre willing to part with a substantial part of your hard-earned money, consider another brand.

I purchased the LG washer a year ago. I have been dissatisfied since day one. Tried every cycle, but the clothes are all tangled up at the end of every cycle. You try to take the clothes apart and end up with a left arm of a shirt twice the length of the other. Its awful, the clothes come out all stretched out from trying to pull them apart. I loved my old FRONT load washer. All clothes were washed properly. With this top load, not all clothes get a good wash. Never again top load. No use calling LG. They will tell me: Too bad sucker. We got you for 2K.

Purchased LG fridge LFC22770 in 6-2014. Two months ago food began to defrost in freezer. Called their service. The touted built-in diagnostic signal did not transmit a code. Was given phone number, after a 45 min. wait, to a TV repair business. What a joke. This morning we smelled burning electrical odor. My husband removed back cover and sparks were shooting out and wires had already melted. Imagine if we had gone to work or been on vacation?! Total hazard. Could have easily ignited cabinets next to and above unit. What if this had happened while we were asleep! The nightmare of the repair or replacement still awaits us as this is Saturday.

LG: my advice is don’t buy any of their products. 5 weeks ago my $3000 fridge stopped cooling. I had a local company out here, they determined that the linear compressor has to replaced, like most of them after just a few years. Called LG June 14th., filed a warranty claim and got confirmed the part would ship in 2-3 weeks. Coming back from Europe last week no part, no correspondence. Called last Thursday and a lady in their customer service center confirmed my order but told me it was not processed. She would expedite and call me back on Monday. Again nothing happened. 1st call today I was forwarded to their external part warehouse provider who didn’t have any information. Asked for supervisor, got connected but he refused to take care of the warranty part and insisted to send another technician to my home, but can’t guarantee that he has the part. In the meantime I bought a 2nd fridge and put it in my garage. You buy an expensive, presumingly high end product at a premium price that fails premature, service is nonexistent, warranty is not honored and spend 2 hours on the phone.

I wish I would have read reviews on here before purchasing. I bought four LG kitchen appliances less than a year ago. My fridge/freezer stopped working correctly and I have been getting the run around from LG for the past week. I have been calling every 24 hours for an update. Each time I call, I get a new timeline. First it was 24-48 hours, then it was 3 business days, then 3-5 business days, then they escalated my case which means another 3-5 business days. They tell me they cannot find someone in my area to come repair it although I live in suburban Chicago. Ive called service providers listed on their website who said they could come out the next day but LG has still not contacted them directly. I lost a freezer and fridge full of groceries and now cannot have any fresh food while in the middle of a pandemic. I am very unhappy with their customer service and the quality of my fridge.

I also had a LG refrigerator that only lasted 5 years. Terrible products. So I saw the Magnetron has a 10 year warranty so I called and they told me on the phone, it would cost me 125.00 right there for the service call and the technician would come out and replace the Magnetron and if it was over 30 min I would pay 35. Extra. When the guy came he looked at the microwave and said, It is the Magnetron and I ordered it but it did not come yet, and you owe me 35.00. I will be back in two weeks with the part.I am furious. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. So I pay extra time because I am in the 20%. Also NO ONE SAID I needed to pay another 35.00 when he came. They said, If he goes over 30 minutes. So, so wrong.

Purchased this dishwasher 4 years ago. Last week we started getting the code PF which means power failure. From the LG comments posted, they would lead you to believe the power supply was interrupted and the PF is only a code and not a failure/fault code. Turns out it was a fault. We turned it on last night and the control panel immediately burned out. Saw some sparks/flashes and a puff of smoke and electrical smell. Dishwasher was then disconnected from the power source. If you have the PF code you should note this is very probably the control panel shorting out. Unfortunately, dishwasher failed just outside of our extended warranty period. We will definitely switch brands. Dishwashers should last longer than four years!!! Definitely dissatisfied with the LG dishwasher.

Contracted appliance company was never available to schedule repair service so I requested different company. Customer service is farmed out to India, and there is no connectivity or standard between departments. We purchased all new LG appliances for our kitchen 3 years ago. The stove is terrible to say the least. You can brush up against the knobs and turn the burners on. My 6 year old daughter has walked by and bumped the knob with her shoulder and turned the gas on and it was on for I don’t know how long. This is extremely dangerous. Also, I can’t even use the bottom oven because flames shoot out the back and burns my food. I bought this double oven because I bake a lot and it has made baking so much more difficult. I have a refrigerator LG Model LFX31925ST, acquired in 2011 for about $3000. I never write negative reviews. I expect that from time to time products will eventually fail. That said, its very disappointing when folks spend $3000 for a Refrigerator only to have it fail numerous times. Every time we have to wait for 2 weeks to get a technician to come diagnose the problem, order parts, wait another week or so to come back replace the parts, then 2 weeks later another part fails, wait another 2 weeks for another repair person to show up and so forth. LG knows this, in fact they have known this for years. Maybe they should invest in hiring more repair people, redesign their product and only sell it when its ready to be put out to the consumer. I have a 22 year old GE refrigerator in my garage as a backup. Sadly to say I have used it more in the past 3 months than my 6 year old LG that I spent $3000 on. The latest problem that I have is that the refrigerator does not cool down below 62 degrees F. The freezer is working, had the compressor replaced 6 weeks ago. I expect as most consumers do, that when we spend this kind of money for a product that it would be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. 2 weeks to a month to get a repair person and the repair done is not acceptable. Until LG addresses these issues I have to give them a failing grade, both to the reliability of their product and their lack of response to the consumer when we need it.

I bought my brand new LG fridge in 2008 because it had a lot of room inside. After a couple of months, Ive been having problems since; there were issues after issues. First, it was the ice maker that I needed fixed then it was the fuse. After that, it was the French doors that rubbed against each other so I couldnt close it. Then it was the side vent inside the fridge. Now, its my compressor thats not working; that’s what the service guy told me yesterday. I purchased this from Sears. Its made by LG for Sears. Its a side-by-side since it was the only refrigerator that would fit within the dimensions of the opening of our cabinets. It was only a few months after purchasing that I found my kitchen floor flooded with water. The ice maker water feed line was installed by Sears. There was a defect in the refrigerator that caused the ice maker to freeze and blow water out of the water line from the back of the refrigerator causing flooding. I have a wood floor in the kitchen and the wood became warped and lifted both under and in front of the refrigerator. Sears came to repair and the repairman caused a short circuit in the electronics board and the whole refrigerator went dark. We had to wait for that part to be ordered. So we had no refrigerator for days and a wood floor that was destroyed. To make a long story short, the correct part was installed and the refrigerator in working condition again but it took weeks and a lot of documentation and correspondence between myself, Sears and the LG headquarters in order to determine who was at fault and who would be responsible for replacement of the floor. It was a very frustrating and maddening time. One other thing about the LG refrigerator, I noticed a few months ago that the paint on the handles is peeling off and soft. Theres a lot peeled already and a lot with long scratches from fingernails reaching for the handle. I dont know how to fix it to make it look less ugly and dont want to have to deal with either Sears or LG over this.

We contacted LG customer service and they gave us three companies that were LG certified repair centers. We made an appointment (had a horrible time with them) and after three weeks they told us the fridge needed to be replaced and they would work with LG warranties to get that done. LG warranties will not work with them and have forced us to use another service tech. We have the live chats from LG customer service proving set appointment times. Of which nobody showed. We have proof from the service company LG told us to use that our two year old fridge should be replaced and LG wont work with the service company they told us to use. LG says they will not replace our fridge, only the parts even though their service tech said the fridge should be replaced and that the seal system should not go bad in a 2-year old refrigerator. They also said that if LG says they will fix it to let them know this is the type of warranty problem that will go bad every year and we will have to replace the seal system every year. LG still refuses to replace - the manager at LG customer service told us they will never replace only repair. HORRIBLE!

Recently (2018) I noticed the smell of burning and sparking coming from the unit. I opened the door and noticed that the inside lower left corner was physically melted??? I have never experienced anything like this with any other microwave in my life. Obviously I felt this was a safety issue and an obviously defective microwave.I called LG and jumped through all their hoops, providing them photos etc. They were supposed to call me back (they didn’t). When I called back I was told that they only offer a 1 yr warranty and the fact that I got 4 yrs out of it was good. Umm, a melted door is good??? Long story short, LG told me I can try to find someone to repair it but it will be costly and recommended I buy a new one. Yup, after only 4 yrs. I asked if a “MELTED DOOR” was particularly concerning to LG? He said no, it’s 4 years old. Umm, well I guess it had a good run in LG’s eyes. I’ll never buy from LG or any affiliate again. WOW!??

This dishwasher was the first LG appliance I ever purchased. I've had it for many years and it's still running great. It has wonderful features like "delicate" cycle (for China) and adjustable racks - both for height and for items you might have to put into them. Even the flatware basket is well designed.

We bought a LG front loader washer and dryer at the astronomical cost of over $2200. My husband insisted on purchasing a 3 year extended warranty. And guess when the washer died? Five months after the extended warranty expired. This piece of junk didnt last 5 years! We didnt want to have to buy another dryer because ours is still working. We had no choice but to purchase another LG in order for it to fit with the stackable kit we have in our condo laundry closet. So now were out another $1100 for another piece of crap LG washer that weve had less than 24 hrs and already were having a problem with water leaking into the drum from some plastic orange piece located on the top of the rubber seal. Have no idea why water would come out of this piece, but its attached to the seal with a screw so obviously its meant to be there. God, I HATE LG and will NEVER EVER purchase another one of their crappy products!!!! DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCT UNLESS YOURE A RICH GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT WHO LIKES FORKING OVER $2200 EVERY 4 YEARS!

Purchased an LG gas range because it had 5 burners. Was pleased with it until I notice the inside of the knobs have plastic and keep cracking. The first time LG replaced them at no cost to me. Now they are cracked again. Called LG and they wont replace them again. Want me to purchase them at $63.66 ea. I have 5 knobs - thats $318.30 for the knobs. If I buy them, they are going to crack again because they are the same ones. These knobs are defective. LG should have replace them with a better constructed knob so this doesnt happen again. Now its hard to turn the burners on cause they slip. Thought they would have taking care of this problem but NO.

LSG4513ST.BSTELGA / Range danger for burn/natural gas leaking. This range has had issues since day one. Serviced one time by LG tech who said; Ive replaced the components with the updated parts; but that wont fix the problem. We the owners and guests have accidentally turned burners on and burned ourselves. An even bigger, more dangerous problem is the burners being on enough to leak gas and not light; or when on low; the flame will go out and continue to fill the home with natural gas until you notice. After several months of trying and finding out the LG factory repair person in the area; no longer works for LG; we have an appointment scheduled with an authorized service company. I would rather just have it replaced and preferably before a serious injury, fire or explosion takes place!

I bought a LG French door refrigerator (Model: LFX28978ST/00) on 8/27/10 from Home Depot. It retailed for $2399. LG only gives a 1 years parts and labor on most of the unit. I purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot. In less than 2 years, the icemaker in the door when out. The extended warranty replaced, no charge. I have now had the unit 7 years and 4 months and the cooling system is going bad. Only the compressor is under warranty (10 year). To fix, Im looking at over $1000 and $700 of that is just labor. This was my first LG product and it WILL BE MY LAST. Never again!

We purchased a LG side by side refrigerator 3 weeks ago from Home Depot. This morning water started pouring out of the ice maker! It flooded our kitchen and dining room before we could get the water shut off. We have spent the rest of the day on the phone with Home Depot first and then LG customer service. On hold for approximately 2 hours total. Bad customer service and for $1700 bad refrigerator. Last word was they were trying to find someone to come out. It should only take them 3 days. Meantime all the food in my freezer had water poured on it. Now its frozen. Its a mess. I will never purchase another LG product!

During the summer of 2010, my wife and I made a decision to remodel the kit
During the summer of 2010, my wife and I made a decision to remodel the kitchen after having extension plumbing work done to our home. As part of that, we wanted new appliance and bought the LG refrigerator because it was the size we need to fill the space. A couple of years after we purchased it, it stopped cooling. I called LG and a customer service person told me to unplug it for at least six hours and plug it back in. I did and that seemed to fix the problem. It also had some type of water leak with the ice maker that would allow a large sheet of ice to build up to the point in the bottom the door would no longer close. I was able to remove it without much difficulty, but this happened continuously until the water line to the unit froze and burst and I turned off the line completely. In August of 2015, our refrigerator quit cooling and we contacted the company to see if it was still under warranty and we were told the compressor and sealed system was covered for seven years. This is a parts only warranty. They gave me the name of four repair companies and I contacted the one closest to me. The first tech looked at it and said they would have to send someone else out. I paid him for the call $75 and he left. The next tech came a few days later and quoted me a price of $275 to replace the compressor and the evaporator, but told me LG refrigerators had a history of leaking in the tubing in the walls and if that was in fact the problem, it could not be fixed. He told me to contact LG and begin the process of getting the parts. This began a two month struggle of phone calls back and forth between myself, LG and the repairman. No matter who I called, they said I needed to talk to the other one. The repairman eventually stopped taking my calls and after weeks of trying to get help, an LG customer service representative told me he informed the company he would no longer work on their products, a lie on someones part because he fixed my boss refrigerator a few weeks after that. They told me to contact another person on the list, so I went to the next closest person to my town, who refused to touch it because someone else had already looked at it. It was October 27 before LG was able to get A&E to get a repairman out. They told me I would not have to pay for the call because of the inconvenience it had created. He replaced the dryer in the back and the next day, I was once again able to put food back into it.Around December 14, my wife noticed the refrigerator was again not cooling. I contacted LG and they contact A&E, who couldnt get anyone out until January 12. The repairman didnt show up on the 12th and when I called, they didnt have the appointment in the system. They rescheduled for the next week. When the repair technician arrived, he called his supervisor to say it looked like the wrong type of dryer (dye dryers help them diagnose where leaks may be) had been put on the unit. They suggested he hook a freon tank to the unit and heat it with a welding torch and listen for the leak. He didnt hear anything and suggested replacing the compressor and evaporator. He was told not to do anything to the unit because they wanted another technician to come out and look at the unit to try and find the leak. (The company never noted any of this in their system and the tech says he doesnt remember the call.) He apologized to me and told me he felt the leak was in the walls of the refrigerator and couldnt be fixed. A few days later, two techs arrived at the house and my frustration level had reached a boiling point. He asked me what had happened with the previous visit, I told him and he called his supervisor. That was when we found out no notes were taken on the previous call. He then suggested replacing the compressor and evaporator and I took my frustration out on him.He was the tech who came in October and defended the fact he put in the right evaporator. He said if there was no visible sign of a leak during the last visit, then the leak was in the walls of the unit and could not be fixed. He advised me to call LG and felt they needed to honor their warranty, which I did. The customer service representative said they couldnt do anything until the tech filed his report. She never gave me any impression the problem might not fall under their warranty. I left the tech a message and he talked to a supervisor who said they would come out and replace the compressor and evaporator, but it would be the last visit made to my home on this issue. He told me to call LG and get the compressor and evaporator shipped to my home. I did and they promptly connected me to A&E to set up the service call. (I never received the replacement parts.)When the tech arrived a few days later, he called a supervisor and they told him to hook up the sealed system and check gauge readings. There was talk about a blockage in the lines. After several minutes, the tech disconnected the gauges, the call ended and he told me if the line was blocked it was in the walls of the unit and was not repairable. At this point, I contacted LG and was connected to the executive services office in Huntsville, Alabama. I spoke with a woman there who was pleasant at first, but then informed me the lines in the wall are not part of the sealed system. I told her there was no way to repair them because they were literally sealed in the wall. She then proceeded to tell me it was my fault for not reading the warranty information on the unit completely. I have owned LG Cell phones and other electronic products and was always pleased with how they worked. As a home appliance company, they are terrible. I paid more than two-weeks pay to buy this refrigerator. My last refrigerator I paid $350 for and it lasted nearly 15 years. If LG is the only company to make refrigerators in the future, I will search antique stores and look for an old fashioned ice chest and become friends with the ice man before I put another one of their products in my home.

I bought my Fridge (French Door, Bottom Freezer) in June 2012. The Crisper cover is now broken in several places and I just paid $50+ to replace it! Very, very flimsy material! I wonder how long this one will last? I have a 27-year-old Kenmore Fridge, now in the basement, which is still in perfect condition physically and working great! Why cant they make appliances like that anymore?

I have raised a complaint on my recently bought LG washing machine direct drive on 24th December. LG service had come on 26th and said the panel has to be replaced and they have to get the panel from Cochin. Next day I called them due to lack of response and they said it has to arrive from Noida. Today we called and they said that part is no longer available. I trusted LG and purchased this product. Now I regret it. I suggest if LG has no commitment at making quality products then give me a temporary washing machine until the repair is over. I had a useless customer care experience. Only fake promises and nothing else. I have had same experiences with LG Refrigerator and Microwave oven which too have repair issues. I quit LG.

Our house has never had a loose or knocking pipe until we bought an LG wash
Our house has never had a loose or knocking pipe until we bought an LG washer. Ive heard this called water hammer. It started immediately after installation. I contacted LG and was told, This means that there is a sudden obstruction in the path of high pressure fluid through a pipe. This is caused by high water pressure in pipes not by the washer. Considering how very many complaints Ive found, this is the washer. I now have a pipe loose in the wall.

I purchased this washing machine November 2012 and it has done nothing but brought me stress. I wished I would have read these reviews before I purchased the machine. I have the same problems with the smelling of molded clothes. Its horrible and nothing I do gets rid of it. Something has to be done. We spend our hard earned money on big ticket items like this and get nothing in return except higher water bills. So much for High Efficiency.
