Purchased a LG Refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. Within probably a month, I had to call the company and have them come and service the freezer as it was completely frosted up. I did not find the person on the phone to be polite at all and pretty much implied that I had done something to make the freezer frost up. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. Doesnt do me much good as they are all broken and some of the support for the shelves to sit on are also broken. I would never, ever, ever purchase a LG product again. Their support staff not very polite or helpful and the product is horrible.

The refrigerator was recommended to me by a friend. I really do take pride in this amazing refrigerator for sure. I cannot say it enough. It was a standard basic refrigerator and had an ice maker in it. It was stainless steel and a shiny grey and was hard to stain or beat up. Even with a child in the house this refrigerator is so darn durable and I absolutely love it. It was a good refrigerator and kept the food cold like all refrigerators should.. This refrigerator was definitely built to last for years and am so glad I found it. I even got a good deal. This refrigerator belongs in every single home. I cannot say it enough.

My LG is a built-in model; it's set into an island next to the sink. The whole island gets warm while it's running because the venting is inadequate, especially while drying. The choice of settings is really helpful.

I will NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought
I will NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought at HHGregg in August of 2012 (Model WT5170HV) has been nothing but a disappointment. LG customer service is terrible! They blame the owner for any problems. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. The area around the bleach dispenser rusted when it was two years old. They did replace the top but when the service tech arrived he just laughed. I do a lot of this, he said with a smile. Your new top will do the same thing in a year or two. Gee, what a vote of confidence. I purchased an extended service plan and Im glad I did. The washer controls do not work. Two new system boards are on order. The repairman told me that without the warranty it would be an expensive repair. He noticed the rust and told me I needed to call LG and get an APM# so the top can be replaced. Just waiting on the new system boards and taking my laundry to the laundromat. Now, just two years later the rust is back but now it is even worse. The washer is rusting around the bleach dispenser and the entire top of the lid opening. Rust is falling into the wash. I phoned LG and was told that they only replace the top once. I must be getting water and bleach on the metal and that I should be wiping it every time I complete a wash. I told the customer service advisor that this was impossible since the rust was under the top. I got nowhere with them and was advised I could get it replaced at my expense. Do you want rust on your clothes? Really? Then why does use water and bleach! Is no liquid is ever supposed to touch it? LG told me the rust is just a cosmetic issue. After owning this washer a little over three years, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! I paid a large amount of money for this machine thinking I was buying the best Top of the Line. What a joke! Serviceman told me after he repairs it I will be lucky to get five years; the average lifespan of this washer. The washer displays proudly on the front a 10-year warranty, but it only covers the motor. I will NEVER PURCHASE another LG product. Buyer beware LG. Do yourself a favor. Buy an inexpensive machine without all the bells and whistle. You will be much better off. The service tech offered that advice.

I am extremely discouraged at the quality of my LG refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot. It is almost 5 years old and the compressor has gone twice in the last month! I was told the Chinese admitted to buying poor quality compressors. My warranty runs out in September and I don’t expect the latest part to last a month. I paid $3000 thinking I was getting a great refrigerator and am letting you know this will be my last purchase for LG products! Sad service from LG!

Received a replacement compressor, but it was the wrong part. Had to contact customer service to let them know on Aug 12th. They asked for a picture of the serial tag, which I sent that same day. They replied Aug 14th, saying they were checking with their parts dept. I contacted them Aug 16 asking for an update, and again on Aug 22, to which they replied that they would be happy to look into this for you.On Aug 27, I got a message saying that the part should arrive that day. The tech we hired came 2 days later to install. So... after 2 months of living out of a cooler, we had our refrigerator back. As I said in my original review, the refrigerator is perfect for us, I love it. Unfortunately, I wouldnt buy another LG product, ever. If they start giving them away for free, Id be in line, but, nope. Not spending any money on their products. I still stand by the one star rating.

After having a house fire and needing all new appliances, we decided to go with an LG 4 piece kitchen appliance package from Home Depot for nearly $3,000. Within 5 years (right after the extended warranty we purchased had expired) the dishwasher stopped draining. We ate the cost of that and got rid of it and purchased one from a competitor. We have also had problems with our oven, sometimes it will go through periods where it wont turn on, then its fine the next day. Again, we are just dealing with that at this point since we cant afford to purchase a new one right now. Finally, we are now dealing with our refrigerator. At $1600 our refrigerator has stopped working due to a bad compressor at less than 8 years old. There is only one technician in our area that LG will let repair this, and while the part is still covered by the manufacturer warranty, the labor is going to be between $500 and $700. This is ridiculous! We had so many options when choosing our appliances and we put our trust and money into LG. We have been living out of a mini fridge for two weeks because we dont have the money to make this repair. After reading all of the same complaints about this refrigerator, LG should be held accountable and make this right for their customers!

When you dial the control to hot or very hot on the washing machine the net result is warm water or cold water. The washer instead of delivering hot water, mixes cold water with the hot water and you get warm or cold water in any cycle. I have had the technician out twice and he said he cant do anything to make it change no matter how many parts he changes. I have it on audio recording. He said LG will not exchange the machine and I have to live with the problem. I paid $1,100 for the washer and similar amount for the dryer. I ran the LG dryer yesterday with one queen size comforter and after redrying it four times it was partially damp.

I complained to LG customer service about overcooling issue. My tomato will turn into stone, leafy vegetables get spoiled with ice crystals forming on them. So far, I must have thrown vegetables worth $600 plus. My refrigerator was under warranty. Technician would check and confirm everything is working fine, no root cause analysis. After 2 visits, I demanded to have new technician, who said air flow tower needs replacement. After replacement, unit worked for few weeks and again same problem started happening. I called LG, again technicians visited but could not fix the problem. I am still having issues with brand new refrigerator where I cannot store vegetables. Fortunately, I have 10+ year old another refrigerator that I use for storing vegetables. Now, when I call LG, they are saying, unit is out of warranty so you need to pay. My issue was reported when it was under warranty, it was never fixed, but they will not accept. I am very frustrated. It seems it has some manufacturing defect or they do not have qualified technicians to do root cause analysis of the problem.

Buyer Beware of Linear Compression. We purchased this fridge less than 3 years ago and it stopped working 3 days ago. Hours and hours on the phone with LG, 2 service companies later, 1 1/2 days of missed work, and we know exactly the same thing we did when we first called... the compressor has died. Now theyre fighting with the service company LG sent out to us on who should order the part(s) and are telling us they may have it to fix in another week. WEEK! A quick google search will show you there are multiple class action lawsuits for this type of compression unit. LG has known it will not last. And when it fails, as it will, hundreds of $$ of food in the trash, $$ for takeout for a week, missed time from work to meet technicians that cant help and hours and hours on the phone with LG is what will be in your future.

I am only submitting review to hopefully help someone who may have gone thru the nightmare I have been thru the past 2 years since I purchased my LG True Balance Ha washing machine. The first year I had this machine I would get a UE Code on the machine occasionally! I would readjust clothes and finally get the machine to spin. It got worse and worse over the next year up until the point I would quit washing clothes and my husband would take over where he would use his level and make sure the tub was level so the clothes would spin. My washer is in the basement so he would get missing for awhile and I knew he was waiting on the washer to spin, because if you dont wait the machine would fill up and try to rebalance its load (what is smart about that). I have called the helpful customer service only to be told it would cost $90 for a service tech!My husband would get frustrated and I would take over and so it went! Today for the first time I washed 4 or 5 loads of clothes without 1 error! Actually it has gotten better over the last month. What did I do? I stopped using commercial liquid soap! I found a recipe on Pinterest. My theory is the soap gums up and throws the computer off. I hope this helps someone who felt as though they we going insane as I was. With all this said I will never buy another LG product as they do not stand behind their products or they would admit this washer is a piece of junk and recall all that was sold.

We bought a brand new LG refrigerator at Home Depot in San Diego. After a few months, I noticed a bit of rust on the lower outside edge of where the water and ice come out. I called them and they said it was a cosmetic defect and NOT covered by the extra warranty that we had purchased. I have called them three times since, Home Deport contacted them and now the rust runs all around the bottom of the ice/water unit and is getting bigger. I have been treated extremely poorly when trying to converse with the LG complaint lines. We will NEVER buy another LG product ever and we tell all our friends and family to do the same.

Customer service quality and procedures when something breaks needs to be o
Customer service quality and procedures when something breaks needs to be one of the most important considerations when choosing who to buy an appliance from these days, especially an expensive refrigerator that is not built to last despite claims that it is, but for a higher purchase price. It was important enough to me that I was willing to pay more upfront. $2800 more. Things break, design flaws happen. That is not as concerning to me as what a company does to their customers when it comes time to make it right, and how they make it right. Regardless if they have fixed their linear compressor problems, it is not worth buying LG refrigerators. Or any other product as far as I’m concerned, given what they are presently putting us through and how little they are compensating for our losses.I’ll be shocked if this doesn’t cost them dearly in customers and loyalty. It certainly has turned my 18 and 22 year old sons off after watching what we are going through since July. That’s future business right there that they screwed up. Not to mention my failing double oven, dryer, and dishwasher which need replacing soon. And where there is one there are hundreds or thousands more. That’s a lot of exponential word of mouth.LG is losing all that future business for what? To save a buck on repairs now by forcing customers to use their preferred 1-star rating repair servicer even if they repaired it once already and it failed? To avoid doing the right thing by reimbursing their customers for full damages and losses fully caused by their part failures as well as their repair failures? That choice alone about customer service reflects poorly on the business smarts of a company, which in turn affects reliability. If you ever have a warranty repair with your LG products, you are at risk of what is happening to us right now. Are you willing to gamble for that much money? We bought our LG French Door refrigerator Thanksgiving 2016 for $2800. Chose LG because of reputation, longevity claims about the model, and their description of great customer service should something go wrong. We thought it was worth the expense. The linear compressor failed after 3-1/2 years in July. We had to wait 2-1/2 weeks before their “authorized repair servicer” got here to repair it. We bought a larger mini fridge and still lost well over $300 of food. Their servicer did not call us to first diagnose or ascertain what parts might be needed. They simply showed up and assumed they only needed to swap out a compressor.LG bottlenecked their quality before they got here by only authorizing a maximum of $505 including labor, regardless that neither of them knew for sure what all needed to be checked and repaired. They set us up for failure. Their preferred provider didn’t even look for leaks in hoses that might have caused the compressor to fail to begin with, so if there was one it’s still there! They did not replace all the other covered parts that are supposed to be replaced with this repair, such as evaporators, hoses, etc. Two weeks after the repair we spent $450 on groceries believing it was safe to now restock. Two days later it broke again. My dealings with customer service since have been unacceptable. I have been patient and understanding about all the extremely long hold times given Covid, (1 hour and 17 minutes on hold this morning before the exec division picked up,) but not understanding about forcing their customers to have to retell all of the specifics of their circumstances dozens of times to each new agent that picks up, treating them like a first time caller, before anyone finally understands again how egregious the case has been handled thus far. And when they finally do they have no power to ensure it won’t continue to happen. Wash, rinse, repeat. There are too many cooks in the kitchen and all the departments that have to be involved are isolated and cut off from the other so the agents can never prevent anything from going wrong again or have influence over final decisions. There is no quality control in LG’s customer service. Their executive services group can’t directly talk to someone in the authorization department to ensure everyone is on the same page so they stop sabotaging what was agreed to. They have no true escalation capabilities and if they do they are highly ineffective. I believe this is purposeful when it comes to these refrigerators. The first agent this time around said our case was escalated since we just went through this. That didn’t mean squat in the end. It has been dealt with worse than the first time and has followed the same channels as a first time repair. He said dispatch would be calling me directly this time 3-4 days from our call to lessen the amount of time we were without our fridge again. That was August 22 and today 2-1/2 weeks later we are still without a working fridge. No one called. I had to start all over from the top when I called back. They tried to resend the same incompetent repair company as last month and ignored our request to send a different one that would approach it properly this time and give us confidence we wouldn’t be put through this again next month. It’s exhausting to pull everything out again, set up coolers and ice and check safety of food every day. Their preferred service provider in our area was going to be at least 2 more weeks out. LG blamed Covid saying it has impacted the availability of servicers in our area. The truth was LG directly prevented a timely and proper repair we had access to; it was not a problem with availability of servicers in our area, it was a problem of a company only wanting to use a one-star servicer that they can successfully under compensate, regardless that the repair company cuts corners and does inferior work to make it worth what LG pays.We asked LG why we couldn’t find our own repair company nearby who could get here sooner than 2 weeks. They told us if we could find someone sooner they would gladly email them the authorization, because they can’t find anyone else. All they can see is their authorized 1-star servicer. We had a 5-star service nearby standing in my kitchen the very next day! And they had done a lot of warranty work for LG before so we were delighted with having found them. They diagnosed the fridge thoroughly first, and in person, recognized that the compressor was not installed correctly and not all parts were properly replaced. Due to this we had oil leaking all over the place creating new repair problems. We called LG back and provided all the contact info they requested. They called our chosen repair co. that same day too and told both of us they would submit a request for authorization and they should have it in the next 24-48 hours. Our repair would be done in under three days. Instead, we got a text and email the next day that their 1-star servicer has accepted our repair request and would be there 12 days later. We called immediately and complained we had someone sooner and did not want the same company, and our case was escalated again. The executive group agent said she saw what happened, the wrong department got the request and ignored the notes in our account and on the request. She canceled their servicer and personally emailed the department directly with the info for the repair company we found, highlighting they were available immediately to do the repair and they have done warranty work for them before. Two days later we get another text/email that the 1-star company happily accepted our request again. I called LG again and the new exec agent listened to all that had happened prior and understood my rage, and told me they were having problems with the authorization department and she had no power to ensure it wouldn’t keep happening this way, but she did have the power to submit a request for a full refund. She had me upload a receipt and confirmed it was received and valid. She would send the request for an auth to our chosen servicer one more time and would call me two days later to see if they had received the authorization. If not she would go through with the refund request. Instead, I get several texts from LG’s chosen servicer all weekend long reminding us they were coming. However, in the past two weeks that servicer did not once call us to get information to determine what parts might be needed, which confirmed for us that if we let them into our home it was going to be handled sloppily like the first time they did the repair. We are sick of what we’ve had to go through living out of a mini fridge for almost two months. For a family of five with adult kids? We want to feel confident it’s done right this time. What LG did that was unethical was agree that if we could find someone sooner they would send an authorization, and then they repeatedly hosed that authorization and every subsequent request for one over the next two weeks to buy time until the A&E appointment was just around the corner. They ignored our valid concerns and discomfort of having this company do the repair again. It’s not like we chose a servicer that never did LG warranty work before. There is no excuse for putting us through this hell. Call several appliance repair companies in your area before you commit to buying anything. They know what brands and products are easiest to fix and have the least hassles with warranty repairs, and which are reliable. All the other repair companies we initially called said the same thing: “we no longer do LG repairs” and if you ask why they all tell you the same thing, “it’s because LG under-compensates true costs and undermines their efforts to do quality work. And it’s too much of a headache to deal with their customer service. It’s just not worth it given the amount of time we would have to put into dealing with them.”I wish I would have called them before choosing an LG fridge, because I never would have purchased it. But this is the real reason LG has a hard time finding an available service provider in your area. And when you find your own? They sabotage it. All to save a buck? How is two or three under compensated repairs in a row cheaper than one done right the first time at a fair price for the actual time required to do a proper job? It can only serve to hurt your customer for unnecessary and unreasonable lengths of time and kills all future business, and word of mouth compounds that. I was also told today there is no guarantee the refund will be approved. They look at how many times it’s been repaired in deciding too! The fact that they were interfering with the repairs, and they failed to let us have a timely and proper one that we had standing right there two weeks ago is not taken into account. If they deny our refund, they will simply reschedule their shoddy servicer all over again. At this point the right thing to do is approve a full refund. My husband is paid hourly and his company is about to be impacted by Covid so he will lose hours pay in the near future. We have to use our scant emergency fund to pay for a reliable refrigerator repair, about $1200-$1400 after the botched repair, or buy a new one. And not having that emergency money is going to hurt us when my husband’s hours are reduced. We cannot tolerate more weeks Iiving like this and never should have had to when we had a reliable repair company standing in our kitchen two weeks ago!To add insult to injury, LG has taken forever to approve our food loss and mini fridge reimbursement requests from July. Several reps quoted from our account that they saw the mini fridge reimbursement was officially approved on August 12 but there was no notes about the food loss. We were told this for the following two weeks every time we called. Then today, the rep said the notes showed it wasn’t approved until September. Somebody changed the notes. We were also told that we couldn’t have both a food loss reimbursement and a mini fridge reimbursement. They only allow one $250 reimbursement per calendar year, regardless if they caused you way more losses. We lost well over $500 of food so far plus paid $260+ for a mini fridge. We can’t even claim food loss this time around even though their repair failed and we properly waited a couple weeks after the repair to make sure it was good before shopping again. Customers can be out $750-$1,000 due to LG’s own mistakes, and only get reimbursed for $250 of it all while they go through hell with customer service. LG does not care about you as a customer or any impact they have had on you or the domino effect. Now, is all this worth buying their $2800 refrigerator? Absolutely not.

LG over the oven microwave LMV1680WW - We purchased this microwave in 2010. It has functioned properly (as far as we can tell), but the front door has cracked at the lower hinge and at the bottom of the handle. I contacted LG and was given the runaround. They took my info but said no one would contact me since it was not a mechanical failure. This is about the poorest service I have ever received. Unless I can see a better response, there will never be any more LG anythings in my household.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator with bottom freezer in June of 2013. In August of 2013, the ice maker went out. It took about 2wks to get it repaired. Now here in May of 2014, the ice maker and freezer arent working. I have asked that the refrigerator be replaced because not only is the ice maker not working, but now the freezer, which is a clear indication that it is a faulty product. LG has refused to replace it stating they will only repair it. They have tried and were unable to fix the initial problem. The fair and responsible thing to do is replace this faulty product.

I have an LG refrigerator with model # LRSC26923SW that is about 5 years old. The so-called purified water line dispenses water that tastes strongly of mold. It is undrinkable and it assumed a health hazard. The filters have been changed on a regular basis and the water line has been used daily until the taste problem occurred.I have tried changing filters and flushing the line but to no avail. LG referred me to an authorized repair service, and I was told that it was a poorly designed system, and I would need to replace the entire door at a huge expense that is not covered by the warranty. In addition to the ice maker going out after 1 year and having to be replaced, I also had major problems with my LG washing machine. I will never buy one of their appliances again.

I WONT BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used we are sorry to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldnt happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

I had to replace the door to the pull out drawers twice, and Ive just put in a second service call regarding the ice maker. We replaced it once already, for the price of $412. If we have to replace it again, we will have spent $1,000 on repairs, for a fridge that cost $2,000. I will never buy an LG product again. Bought an LG, top-load washer, 3 years ago, model # WT1101CW. There are only 3 of us in the household so the washer was used lightly. Last night it decided to commit suicide. The washer plate and the drive shaft assembly broke into pieces while washing a single shirt. I later found out, this was only half of my problem. The following day I spent 3 hours ping-ponging back and forth with LG customer service (which is in the Philippines... ie, broken English) and Encompass, their third-party parts department. Neither can answer any technical questions and will only ask for a part number.I finally received a phone number for technical questions, but upon calling had to provide a service ID number, which I dont have because I am not a certified technician. Now LG is telling me not to fix it myself, but to call a service technician. I called and they said they would send someone out within 7 days and they would look at it and order parts and that would take another 7-10 days. Once the parts arrive they will send a service technician out to fix it. So, I can use a laundromat for the next 2 to 3 weeks, and then pay a hefty repair bill, or I can just go buy another washing machine from a reputable company that actually provides customer service, and in English. Never again LG! Only 3 years and this LG washer will now be in a landfill. If everybody knew how poorly built these machines are and the non-existent customer that LG provides, LG would be out of business. I can only hope at this point.

I own an LG front load washer. It has been problematic since its purchase 3 years ago. It never cleans the clothes. It makes clothes smell awful. I found out others are having the same problem. I wish they give my money back. I used all the recommended treatments, washing machine cleaners (additional expense), emptying its water often (additional inconvenience), leaving the door open when not in use (hit my legs and bruise them), still clothes smell horrible, especially towels seem to absorb this mushy smell. I hope soon I will get rid of it. I missed clean smelling fresh clothes so much. I need to use a ton of drying sheets to suppress the smell. NEVER BUY FRONT LOADING WASHER. I WILL NEVER AGAIN. They do not save water because you have to wash your clothes again and again. Also you need to clean the machine with special cleaners while running it empty. So in the end no water is saved.

Our new LG model 6323S electric range needed gating used to. Something to consider, LG designers didnt think of the 220 connection at the rear of the range. Unlike my old range, the back cover did not go all the way to the floor, leaving twelve inches clear and unobstructed access to the underside from the rear of the range, this allowed plenty of room for the electrical connection and allowed the heavy wiring to slide under the rear of the appliance and further allowing the range to go all the way back flush against the wall. With this new range, the full rear back cover completely prevent access to the void under the range, there is no room allowing clearance for the connection and storage for the excess heavy wiring, causing the range to stick out from the wall over three inches looking out of place and giving room for items to fall behind the stove. Im strongly contemplating getting rid of this LG range. When purchasing a new range, who would think of such an issue? Wont do the same mistake again.

Bought a Kenmore elite French door refrig made by LG. It had 4 problems within 1 year. All problems are related to freezer fan. Error code ff. Sears covered the first 3 repairs with warranty and gave up on the 4th repair. We switched to another lg French door lfx31945st. About half month passing 2 years, it showed error code rf, refrig fan problem. Temp in refrig is not even. Some are frozen, other stuff are over 40f degree. I just ed called repair for $274 to cover under $500 repair cost for a year. Not fixed yet. Never buy lg again!!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator. I received it on October 9th 2020. By October 26, 2020 I was already calling LG because the refrigerator was no longer working. LG sent out 3 different technicians who gave me different reports with issues with the refrigerator the compressor, the panel and issues inside of the refrigerator. I was unhappy with the product and asked LG if I could get a new refrigerator or a refund because I did not feel comfortable accepting LG to repair a product I only had for 17 days. After going back and forth and speaking to one supervisor Cecilia I was told that I needed to submit of purchase for the refrigerator to an email they provided and that someone from the refund department would contact me within 5 days.I never received a call so I called them in which a customer service representative told me my claim was denied and he couldn’t give me a reason why. I called back on Monday November 30th. Asked to speak with a supervisor. She refused to give me her name. She transferred me to the refund dept. They then informed me that they never denied my claim because the customer service dept never submitted my claim. They put in their notes that I needed to accept the repair. It is now December 1, 2020. I still do not have a refrigerator. I have 4 small children and I have to buy food everything to cook for them. This is unacceptable and the worse customer service I have received.

On June 6, 2010 I bought an LG wm2301hr washer from Best Buy. Today we found that this washer had a slow leak in a faulty valve at the top of this unit that must have been leaking for a while. It was just a slow steady drip for a long time until today 3-2-2012. The way we found was that there’s a moldy smell in the closet behind the wash room with lots of black mold growing under the baseboards. Now, we have ruined carpet, ruined clothes, ruined sheetrock and baseboards and a washer that I have to fix myself. I expected a lot more quality for an $1100.00 washer. Best Buy said sorry. LG said sorry out of warranty. Wow, with the water dripping on the motor, I don’t even know if the machine is safe to put back in service. Any help would be great!

In the past 4 months I have had 2 of the 4 LG products I own go out or have issues. Attempting to get these products repaired or service which are under warranty is difficult. LG does not have enough service techs to cover their area of service. Which causes for extend wait and service times. Which is fine if one of your devices is a TV. Though I had a fridge go out and for the issue to total get resolved took 3+ weeks, which end with me purchasing a new fridge not made by LG.

I bought an LG Refrigerator in 5/2011. Three months out of warranty and I spent $533.00 today to fix 3 parts. Now fridges are supposed to last 10-12 years. There’s only one person in the house so it is not abused. I called and of course outsourcing. I spoke to the executive complaint department. If I didnt have the repairman fixing it, they would consider possibly helping out. Since my repairman was repairing the flawed parts, and the refrigerator was warm, how much longer should I wait for their technician to come out? Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against LG since so many people have complaints about their product. The parts are cheap, they break. This wasnt a couple of dollars to just throw away but with the repair cost, should I have bought another refrigerator? What is going to go next?

LG 4 door French Door Refridge. I purchased a Refrigerator in December 2016
LG 4 door French Door Refridge. I purchased a Refrigerator in December 2016 which makes it 3 years old, in April 2019 I had to have a new compressor installed already, now both the freezers are creating snow and ice and I cant open the drawers. I called and they told me that I had to defrost the entire refrigerator/freezer first and wait 8 hours. Not only did I do that I waited two days to make sure everything was dry, once I determined that it was, I plugged the unit back in, overnight it started to create ice and snow again. I called back, after 45 minutes on the phone with someone I could hardly understand, giving them every number possible and all the info, they pass me to the scheduling dept to have someone come out to look at it, they charged me $125 up front service fee just to have tech come out to my home, that does not include the repair or parts, really! This is only a three year old appliance, that has had problems already, what piece of junk. I am 55 years old and for once in my life I was able to afford a better product, well that was what I thought I was getting, paying a heavy price for the refrigerator, I thought LG was supposed to be a great product, well WRONG, they truly dont care about us, they want us to do all this troubleshooting first, I dont pretend to be an engineer, they should be sending out a tech for free especially for a three year old unit. I am so disgusted with LG. I will never purchase any of their products again. I am sure this refrigerator will cause me so much grief and money that I will have to get rid of it. And furthermore, I have a 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage that I have never had to have any service on and it stills works great, just a little rust on it, so I moved it to the garage, It beats LG for sure. We bought the LG Dishwasher a few years ago, partly because it was considered one of the most quiet (the kitchen is open to the family room and the builder supplied dishwasher was so loud, it was impossible to do anything social during a wash cycle). But we also were sold on the purported quality and features. We got it and installed it. It was quiet as claimed. But it didn’t clean anything. Often, the soap dispenser wouldn’t open. It filled the inside with hardened calcified soap. We called LG, to no avail. They told us it must be our water pressure (we are on city water and the pressure is just fine). They also said that even though we had a warranty, that issue wasn’t covered and if they sent someone out and it was confirmed that the issue wasn’t warranted, we’d be charged $150 as a minimum visit. We already paid a lot for the appliance and didn’t want to get stuck with another bill. So we managed, mostly precleaning the dishes, washing them again when the soap didn’t dispense, and dealing with the calcified buildup in the inside. The drain hose leaked under the cabinet, and we were able to use drain hose tape to get by. Well finally, the water poured into our finished basement during a drain cycle late last night, right before we were all going to bed. We pulled the machine and found several leaks in the drain line. Thinking we could get a universal hose, we went to Home Depot where we originally bought it and discovered that we need to get the first part of the drain hose from LG and that could take weeks. That was it. We bought a Frigidaire Galaxy series for half the price and it arrives next week. We hope this will do what it’s supposed to do-wash dishes.

I am a firefighter for 30 years, so I knew what I was smelling. It would not have been much longer before flames would have appeared. I have working smoke detectors in the house, so it may not have been tragic, with regard to loss of life, though the fire damage could have been very costly. After reading so many common instances, I will do my best to spread awareness, starting with the 3,000 active and retired members of the Fire Department I work for. I will be looking for information on recall, or class action suit. Refrigerator is stocked with Thanksgiving food, purchased yesterday. Now, I can not trust the food, and must repurchase. Luckily, I caught this when I woke up this morning. It would not have been long before this started a fire.

It was under warranty however LG told me that I should and have to have a certified LG repair person make the diagnosis and fix.Gentleman came and was very courteous. LG sent us a compressor overnight but it took 4 days to receive it. Then come to find out not only was the compressor shot but it leaked freon out into the inner casing and all that would have be replaced. He said go get a new fridge because the repairs would be way more than the cost of a new one. Still have the compressor. Tried to return it to LG, since it will only fit that model, they said would issue an RMA. Its been a month now and I still have not received it. Called they said it would come when it comes. It is so bad that the entire area where the bleach goes has come off the hinges and is just dangling off the base. When I contacted LG, I was told that the warranty did not cover cosmetic issues. When I asked to speak with a manager and explain that this more than a cosmetic issue, this is a manufactured defect! I was told that my case would be reviewed and they would get back with as soon as they made a decision. Two months later, I am yet to hear from them. Do NOT buy a LG fridge nor use Southland Technical for after service. LG has their own service techs but they are not qualified to do compressor work. So they contract out. Last hot summer, I was given the run around by LG for over 2 weeks to get someone to come see my broken down $3,000 fridge. They keep telling me how busy they are and finally they gave me Southland’s phone number to call. Southland came out, and $1,000+ later, I get my new compressor. Almost exactly 105 days later, the compressor broke down again!!! The service guy who came out in January told me this is the SECOND incident in last 2 days he has seen!!! It took almost 2 months for Southland to get back to me to confirm indeed the compressor had broken down again and due to some BS story, the fridge can no longer be fixed and they will have LG call me. 2 weeks on, LG called to tell me I am SOL because LG did not initiate the call to Southland and therefore LG is not responsible. LG offered me a $100 credit for my next LG fridge, REALLY!! I am suspicious it was a collision between Southland and LG to get me to buy a new fridge. Really Southland, you took $1,000 of my money, replaced the compressor. (Assume they did or perhaps an after-market no name???) And to tell me 105 days is outside the 90 day warranty period. Hands up out there if anyone knows a compressor to last only 105 days. (Yes, days, not months!!) Needless to say, never use Southland and never buy any LG products... Look around, less and less dealers are selling LG, only Costco because they do not have a service department so LG is a convenient partner for a lousy brand!!

He looked up my model and told me that I had a 10-year compressor warranty and assured me that hed write up a ticket at no charge for labor or the service call. I was able to get an appointment within three days and the service people were prompt and the repair was done within an hour and a half and my refrigerator is working beautifully. The freezer begin to melt everything on top shelf of freezer. I called to get it repaired and after I think it was about 2 weeks a repair man came on Nov. 2. (I think his name was Keith.) He ordered parts and came back on Nov.12 and put the one part in and said he made sure the refrigerator was reprogrammed. He had ordered a new cover dispenser because the one on the refrigerator had turn black but they had sent the wrong part so he said he would be back Nov. 23 to install it. That evening when I started to get water there was Er under the word refrigerator and rf under the word freezer. I couldnt get water or ice. I unplugged the refrigerator and plugged it back in and it started to work. Every time I go to get water I have to do the same thing. I called back thinking it only needed to be reprogrammed again but couldnt get them to send someone out because the man who came the first time was scheduled to come back on Nov.23 even though I was told that someone would come on today Nov.19 but didnt show. Now the freezer keeps thawing and refreezing the food. The refrigerator will cool but not get cold. I have lost so much food not once but twice. I thought LG was a good brand name so when we were looking for refrigerators, I was drawn to the style of the French door fridge and we chose it. I wish Id looked at this site first! Exactly three years to the day after purchasing it, it shut down. My freezer was packed and everything had to be thrown out! The fridge stayed cool long enough to salvage some of the contents. Ok, so sometimes products fail, right? Their customer service is THE WORST. They could not be less helpful if they set out to do it! I called the first time and was told by a sugary sweet computer voice that they were too busy and she hung up on me!The next day when I called back I was told by the same computer that my wait would be 7 minutes. The next time my wait time was announced it was 8 minutes. Wait, what? When I finally got to speak to someone, he treated me like an idiot suggesting I didnt have it set on the right temps or didnt close the freezer door correctly. He was infuriating because he knew nothing and was operating from a script that meant he wasnt even thinking. It would have been nice if somewhere they said gee, thats awful. Were sorry. We hope to make it up to you. A friend who works in the electronics field said LG is notorious for not backing up their product. Im going to say this. We purchased our new refrigerator along with an LG stove and microwave when we moved into our new home in 2016. Part of our decision was based on the experience we already had with our LG washer and dryer. Here we are now fighting issues with a refrigerator that should easily last 10+ years. If we had known previously about the compressor issues we would not have purchased this brand. Where are the lemon laws for refrigerators?Issue started with water on the floor and at first we thought the in-door ice maker was failing (more on this later), then two days later we noticed that ice cream was soft in the freezer and then a day later no cooling at all (by the way - all of this in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine and trying to make sure we had enough groceries on hand). It took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to get service on site for repair. The technician replaced the compressor and stated that the refrigerator would now run louder. Well, it was so loud we couldnt hear our tv in the next room without turning up the volume to almost maximum level.I pulled the refrigerator out and found that one of the copper tubes from the compressor was vibrating and rubbing on the rear cover. Called for service again to fix the noise issue. When he checked the refrigerator, he stated that he could find nothing wrong; however, he did release some of the coolant because he thought the compressor may have been overcharged and overheating. This seems to have resolved the noise issue. The in-door ice maker - noticed that after the compressor failed we now have water dripping intermittently out of the left hand door (the door with the ice maker). I mentioned this to service tech during his return visit and he said it was probably because I was leaving the door open too long and there was not enough cold air for the ice maker compartment. Ive had the refrigerator for not quite 4 years and never had this issue before - I dont think Ive changed how I use my refrigerator. This issue has not been resolved. We question how long the new compressor will last (4 years?). How much more electricity is the refrigerator using now as compared to before - seems to run a lot more now.

LMXS28626S.ASTCNA0/French Door. I bought it for the good looks, but there are a few annoying and serious design deficiencies in the refrigerator, as follows: 1. The ice maker storage is in the door, which causes the ice inside to clump together and stop making ice if the door is opened for a couple of minutes while cleaning the inside. The storage has to be cleaned out, and sometimes reset, in order to work again. 2. The water dispensing spout is far from the pressing mechanism, and water splashes outside the glass if it is small. I have never experienced this before in any of my previous refrigerators3. The French doors do not stay in place when opened - the left tends to shut, while the right tends to open all the way.

When I purchased my refrigerator 7 1/2 years ago there was no warning that it was about to be discontinued. Now I need a part for it or its an anchor for a rather large size boat. I have no respect for a company that dont carry parts for their products past 7 years. Who would have thought that you are supposed to consider making a nearly $2,500 purchase of an appliance as a throw-a-way.

4 yr old LG Front loader washing machine... nothing but problems! Kept getting UE code (unbalanced). Called tech and he changed tub seal. Worked for 2 mos and now I have been getting another code saying a spin/drain issue!! Cant put any towels in, not 6, not, 5, 4, 3, or even 2!! My towels are now being held hostage in the washer full of water and locked in!! This washer is a piece of crap and LG sucks! Never going to buy another LG product AGAIN!! Going to look at new washers this week and running from LG!! LG, you suck and need new engineers!!!

Quite simply - THE MOST DANGEROUS OVEN... We have had 3 burns due to the smoothtop surface overheating during self cleaning cycle. If you have this oven - BEWARE. One burn was severe. The other problems, the touchpad works...then doesnt work. You never know when it will not comply. Tragically, Christmas dinner was 4 hours late due to this problem. If you cook on the burners and it gets too hot..the oven will not work....and vice versa. Had a repairman and he insists that the repair will cost more than the stove. I am hoping that others confirm they are having these nightmares!

She told me that being it is the 4th time I need to replace them she would try to get them for me at no charge and she would call me back in 2 days with a answer. I purchased a new LG washer WT1201CW and dryer DLEY1201W when we moved to a new home recently. In all my 50 years washing clothes, I have never had such a poorly designed machine. The washer is so deep that I have to half hang inside the machine to reach the clothes at the bottom (I am 54). The machine doesnt fill with enough water to sufficiently clean the clothes and I end up with spots and streaks. The dryer also performs poorly, not fluffing the clothes and bunching them so they end up wrinkled. I am very dissatisfied and will never purchase anything from LG again.Updated on 05/25/2016: I received a reply with only a portion of my complaint answered and the answer was ridiculous. I am posting this to warn others, dont purchase a top loading washer and matching dryer from LG. I am a grandmother and have washed clothes for many years, this is the worst appliances I have ever owned.

Brought a LG dryer DLEX3370W on 04/22/2017. Worked fine until 08/21/2017, called Lowes since I also purchased the extended warranty, Lowes stated that it was still under manufacture warranty and my troubles began. LG did not send a repair guy until 9/11/2017, he diagnosed as needed the heating element. He ordered the part, came back out on 09/18/2017, replaced the entire heating unit (assemble, thermo and element). The tech called service since it didnt work. At first they went through the diagnosis system still not working, he had to call different times. At one point they said it was my electricity not working correctly lol.The house is only 8 years old but he tested it no problem there. 4th call to them he tested the something in the back. It started to work so thinking it was resolved the tech put all back together again and left. Washed some clothes and here we are again DRYER NOT HEATING, called LG back and they are telling me the tech has to come out again. SMH. Called Lowes. They are putting it on them, and LG simply just do not care that their product is crap, they have poor customer service, so here I sit with a 700 dryer that does not work waiting for the tech to come back out. I must agree with the reviews Ive read on this site. I purchased my LG washer and dryer in June of 2016. If the fact that it takes forever to clean my laundry which doesnt come out clean, it produces a terrible smell! At the floor level there is a drain and filter which instructions advise to clean monthly. It is hard for me, at 70 yo, to get down on the floor on my belly to clean this contraption, but it must be done. Draining the nasty water from this little hose (about the size of a pencil) is more than a notion. I agree with many others that for what I paid for this machine, I should have gotten a better product. I will never purchase another appliance with the LG label. Any others have experience with this smelly filtration system???

Bought 11/18/12, this will be my third repair. The first was the ice-maker which was replaced at no charge - that was 11/14 - 2 years after purchase. The second was the fan which was making such a loud noise that I could hear it in the other room. That was repaired 2/15 and I had to pay for it. Now the fan did the same thing - a horrendous noise, and now my refrigerator button reads ER and my freezer, RF. I spoke with LG Cust. Service who told me I would have to pay for the repair; next I asked for a supervisor and they eventually connected me with an executive agent. I waited on the line for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. She told me if I faxed her my receipt, they would pay for the repair. My telling her that this refrigerator was 2 years 8 months old made no difference. When I faxed over the receipt, I called them to make sure they had it and someone else set up an appointment, after much trying - since it was the Thursday before July 4th, for repair on Tuesday July 7. I received a phone call today that the company cant make it on Tuesday, now its Thursday. I have lost most of my food and I have had it. This product is garbage and no one should sell it. I will tell EVERYONE I know never to buy anything that is LG.

The price of the refrigerators was too high and didnt have that much time or money. Lg is a reliable refrigerator and the price was just right for us and the company. It was a side by side, lots of room, worked great. Lasted while even though we got it second hand, also the freezer was on bottom and I loved being able to just slide open it. Just slide open, toss what needs to go in and slide shut so convention, and reliable. However, Ive had filter problems.

After 4 years of no issues with our LG refrigerator, it died one day after we hosted our daughters bridal shower. Needless to say, we lost all the food. Called a repairman, came out and informed us it was the compressor and it was under warranty. He also warned us that LG has been having issues with the compressors. We called LG and they told us that their repair service (through A&E) couldnt come out until 2 weeks later. I waited ALL day and no one ever came. We received a call and email to call back the next day to reschedule. Naturally I assumed they would come asap. Well to my dismay, they couldnt come out until 2 WEEKS later. Are you kidding me!! We had been without a fridge all this time and they expect you to wait even longer and its their negligence! We were so frustrated and disgusted we just gave up and bought a new refrigerator, a Frigidaire, since it seems price doesnt guarantee it will last!

The knobs on the front are way too sensitive and turn to high with just brushing against them. A pizza box that was sitting on the stove burned up when a knob was inadvertently touched and today a microwave cover was burned up when it was placed on the stove after retrieving food from the microwave and a knob was brushed as we opened the microwave. I am removing the knobs and have told everyone not to place anything on the stove. One of the burners is now ruined from the melted plastic.

My LG refrigerator has failed for the 4th time in less than 4 years; 2 compressors and 2 evaporators. I paid $2,999 for the refrigerator from Sears. On August 21st my refrigerator failed and I called to schedule service. The agent on the phone asked me a few questions and confirmed that it was a sealed system issue. The next available service was Sept 5. I live in a large city so it should not be this difficult to get service. The next day I spoke to the local LG servicer. After I explained that the sealed system has failed 3 other times they told me they could not service the refrigerator since they did not do the prior work. They went on to say that it was LGs policy to replace a refrigerator on the 4th sealed system issue. On Aug 22, I finally I spoke to someone in LG Consumer Relations and was told that my refrigerator qualifies for a buy back. The last sealed system issue was less than a year ago and I could request a buy back. I was told It would take 3-4 days for the final dollar amount to be determined and another 4 weeks to receive a check. As requested I sent in my Proof of Purchase using the web link emailed to me. On Aug 24th I called LG service for an update and was told I had not sent my Proof of Purchase, I sent it a second time and verified that it was received. Again I was told 3-4 days to receive the final offer details. I called today, Aug 30th, and was transferred 4 times. I am now told that someone had not followed through on the case and it would be another 3-4 working days before a decision would be made. What recourse do I have?

I bought the double oven stove and unfortunately I did not use the stove until 9 months after the purchase. The stove is awful. It will burn you if you try to even come near the back of the stove top. It is very hard to clean, and that means the entire unit. The knobs are actually paper/tin which cracks and peels after just a little wear. The oven has never baked right. It burns everything on the bottom. Nothing I did corrected any of the problems.I have told everyone I know not to purchase this brand of stove, and will continue to tell the public about this lemon. To produce something so inferior and sell it to the public just shows that this company has no regard for customers and will sell junk. For me it was way too late to send this piece of junk back as by the time I used it warranty had passed. I tried to call this company and was told there was nothing they could do. They did not even try to listen or help me in any way. Its too bad because I work with broadcasting/media and I have prevented many people from making the same mistake, and will continue to do so. PLEASE do not spend your hard earned money. You will be sorry.

I now have the same issues again since Dec 29th and still waiting for them to get addressed and being told that the refrigerator cannot be replaced because it is outside the manufacturers 1 yr warranty (even though we saw the same issues within 4 months of buying it)!! My LG washer/dryer lasted a for a few years, then promptly stopped drying. Authorized service tech came out 4 times, each time replacing more stuff, the typical blind replacement strategy without doing any real diagnostic work. Several hundred dollars of new parts, incidentally I have the old parts in hand and they tested fine. Anyway, it still doesnt dry any better, but somehow passed a self test. Tech said that the support guy he was talking to at factory said we should get a new unit, but when I call to begin this process, LG says they cant authorize that because the self test passed. Call me crazy but the ultimate test of a dryer is whether it dries clothes. LG says it is normal for the clothes to come out of these combo machine dryers somewhat wet. Theyve also discontinued this model (WM-3988HWA). I wonder why. Perhaps Im not the only consumer who expects a dryer to dry things. Dismal support by LG. Yes, it is out of warranty, but if they cant fix it at any price and have discontinued the product, that to me means the product is defective and a prorated refund/exchange should be offered.

Follow up on my three-yr refrigerator that broke down, not even the lights turn on. Last Friday, the repairman was to arrive between 1pm and 5pm. I do not reside at the rental. At 2:43pm, I called their 800# and told them to have the repairman call me on my cell that I would be at my aunts house who lives 3 blocks away on the same street. The woman said, No problem, he will call you before he arrives. At 3;30 I called back. And asked what time was the man arriving. They responded this call has been cancelled, he arrived and left. I said he never called me on my cell, I am still waiting. They responded there is nothing we can do, call center is closed. I asked them what country are they in that the call center is closed. She said the call center is in Alabama and they are closed. They only work from 8-5pm. The woman in India never told the repairman to call me on the cell and I dont think that those people can call the repairman. The only one that can call is a supervisor and he is in another building. When I requested a supervisor, it took me 20 minutes on hold to finally speak to one. At the end, he ended up hanging up on me. Now I contacted Sears and will wait for them to find out if my refrigerator has a solution or do I just lose the $1500.00 that I paid four yrs ago. I purchased 4 LG appliances with a home remodeling project. We moved into our house in late April. Last week, we cooked a pizza in the top oven. As with pizza sometimes, the cheese melted over the edge of the pizza stone onto the bottom of the oven. No biggie - it has a self-clean feature. When the pizza was done, I immediately set it to self-clean since it was already heated. It took 3 hours and heated my house to 80 degrees (note to self, do not self-clean an oven when its 95 degrees outside). The next morning I opened the oven to put my racks back in and to my surprise, all the self-cleaning feature had done was to BAKE the melted cheese even harder onto the surface. I had to take out (unscrew) the bottom tray and clean it with oven cleaner and 409. Its still not perfect. Very disappointed.

I got my new French door LG Refrigerator, Model #LFX31925ST/100, in October of 2011, for $2354.90. The ice maker has been replaced at least twice and currently they say the one installed in August needs to be replaced again, it quit in Dec. I have had at least 6 service calls. Not counting the times they couldnt get here and had me pulling the fridge out from wall & unplugging it for several hours and plugging it back in, to eliminate loud knocking noises. This week we finally figured out that even though 8/23/15 they replaced fan grill assembly in the back of deep freeze (new one has some sort of defroster in it) we still have no ice. Last summer the water spout on door stuck in on position and nothing we did would shut it off. It flooded our kitchen before we could get the water shut off. I have thrown out so much food during the past two yrs, it is insane. Finally went and bought thermometer and learned that even though door panel shows refrig. set at 33 temp is 46-48. Freezer varies. Now I have learned it is currently part of a Class Action Law Suit and Im not alone. Im done in and crying Uncle...

I have had nothing but problems with our LG Waveforce top load washing machine. Since day one, it has been unbalanced in almost every single load. It doesnt matter if its a small load, normal size or large load. It is always unbalanced. Because of this issue, the machine tries to fix itself, which ends up using 2-3 times the amount of water just trying to get it balanced. So, when you buy this unit thinking you will save money of your water bill and that its energy efficient, think again. The 45-minute load ends up taking 2 hours and 3 times the water. Another issue I have had is the pulsator. It just pops off the bottom of the drum in the spin cycle. We have had to fix it multiple times and now is unfixable. We will either need to replace the whole inner part or buy a new washer. I have called LG multiple times with no help at all whatsoever. I wish I could go back to my old Kenmore washing machine that lasted 15 years with no problems at all.

Every time I use my LG Wave Force supposedly “self balancing” washing machine it takes multiple hours to finish one load unless I am constantly readjusting the clothes to keep it balanced evenly. It doesn’t seem to matter if the load is big, medium or small in size. The result is still the same. The clothes do not seem to come out clean and the machine takes forever to finish a load. I spent a lot more than I had expected for this washing machine because of the great reviews that I read about it and have been highly dissatisfied since I purchased this piece of junk. I will never buy an LG washing machine ever again and I am writing this review to help others save their money to put towards their hard earned money towards a washing machine that’s well worth the big purchase. First of all, when the washer starts its water loading process, the valves close so forcefully and quickly that the water pipes throughout the house clang, bang and shake. You can not only hear them but you can feel them. To make matters worse, the closing of the valves are frequent and many throughout a wash cycle. This is a major design flaw.Secondly, I am replacing today the cold water inlet tri-valve system due to a water leak that developed in one of the valves (most likely due to the water loading process). I believe this will fix the water leak but unfortunately it will not affect the rapid shutoff process that created it. Hence, the part is only 35 bucks but that is with me doing the work and finding the problem. Too soon to be having problems with repair or replacement and I feel this solution to be only palliative.Third, yes I, too, have the same problems with all clothing having a moldy, musky odor. This has been since day one. We have tried and are still trying ways mentioned by the other reviewers with little to no resolution. The clothes do not smell clean because of the mold problem and it is obvious some soil is remaining in the clothing. Overall, the initial price tag of the washer made it a big decision for our family. It, too, was a replacement for our older top loader that worked just fine.We were sold on the idea that it was much more energy efficient and would pay for itself in time with the energy and water savings. LG is making inferior washing machines at the cost of our ignorance or belief that we are buying a better product. They are deemed defective presented by the problematic facts as testified by the reviewers/owners. The health issue alone (mold and mildew) should be enough for the Federal Health Dept to intervene. What about the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? Someone getting paid off?! What happened to our rights as consumers? Our forefathers are turning over in their graves. My seasonal allergies have become year-round chronic and come to think of it...it has been for the last two years. Go figure.

Design flaw in LG gas burner knob - Seriously, some lawyer needs to file a national class action complaint. This stove is not “fit for its intended purpose,” which is a violation of the nationwide Uniform Commercial Code. As many other commenters have expressed, it’s a death trap. I cannot count how many times I’ve discovered the burner on and flowing gas—when I did not knowingly turn it on. It is unconscionable for LG not to fix this. Please, will some class action lawyer step up?!

Since I purchased the Dryer, it has left many loads of clothes wet. LG service says, I need to clean the sensors by the front door. I did that and the problem still exists. They said I needed to reduce the load. What? I did that and the problem still exists. The electronic fixes did not work. This machine is clearly a LEMON and should never be purchased. LG is offering NO customer service. I just wanted a dryer to dry my clothes without have to clean and adjust things myself. They obviously put too many bells and whistles on this dryer to the detriment of its primary use - drying clothes!! Dont Buy LG Appliances.

We bought all new LG appliances 2 years ago in September. We bought a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a stove and all of the appliances have had some electronic problem or another and have to had to be worked on. The dishwashers electronic panel was replaced but now it does not dry. The stoves electronic brain was replaced, but it does not heat properly. The fridge has had to have its seals replaced. The microwave had to have its brain replaced but they put it in wrong and they crossed the wires while installing it and had to fix that again. We are unhappy with LG appliances and would not buy or recommend an LG product again, as they do not seem to be working properly and we did not get the support we needed to help fix these problems when they first started almost one year to the date of us purchasing them.

We bought a very expensive LG French door bottom freezer, with an ice maker in the door fridge. It has never worked right. The ice maker was repaired 4-5 times during warranty. The compressor failed within 4 years, and it never keeps the right temperature, constantly freezing food in the fridge. We set it at 45-47, it does 30-32. We’re throwing away lots of vegetables ruined by freezing. Even worse, when we needed repair for the compressor, under warranty, we contacted LG. Their repairman came out and said he would order the part, and then we never heard from him again. Only one local vendor would work on it. The rest said they refuse to work on LG, there’s no support in the US. NEVER BUY AN LG APPLIANCE. THEYRE ONLY GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS!!!

Our LG bottom freezers ice machine works sporadically. It was not cooling properly, so we called our extended warranty representative. A technician was sent. He said he couldnt fix it, left and we heard nothing from him or the company. We called the warranty company again and they apologized, sent another companys technician, said he found what was wrong but had to order parts. This means we had up to a week to receive the part. In the meantime, we had to throw away all the food in the fridge and freezer. We were partially reimbursed for food loss (around $300.00 for food). It hardly covers the food replacement plus the times we had to eat out as a family because we had no place for perishable items. The parts finally arrived (motherboard and defroster). There was an error made in the part ordered and we were told that they would have to order the correct one (it was part of the defroster system). I was told that in the meantime, we should turn the unit off at night and turn it back on in the morning until the part arrived. YOURE KIDDING ME! I said. He was very serious. This technician was abrasive and spent more time defending himself, and had little empathy for our circumstance. It was especially frustrating for me because I had to stay behind to wait for the technician while my family left for a 2-day family trip. The part arrived and it was installed. Within a week, the fridge would not cool again and the ice maker stopped working. We had to schedule another technician to come look at it. It took several days. The food went bad and we had to get rid of everything once more (and more eating out!). The next technician, different company, looked at it and said the compressor was broken and that we had a freon leak. Said he couldnt do much because an LG technician had to look at it to verify, plus he did not have the parts and may have to be ordered. This means that the LG technician may show up, check to see what is wrong and THEN order more parts. Im looking at another two weeks before anything happens. All this has happened over the last month and a half (since early May). The fridge is only 1.5 years old. Weve been talking to the service company all this time and they keep saying they are sorry, but they have to go through their procedures. They cant seem to realize how uncomfortable it is as a family to go without a refrigerator. I called LG and they asked me to have the warranty company call them so they can find a resolution. Im so sure. How am I supposed to get them to call? I have not called the store where I bought it from - Hope Depot. Maybe I should and start looking at a small claims court. Ive never done it though. All I can say is that the product is inferior and customer service has been unsympathetic and incapable of fixing our refrigerator. Theyve probably spent more money sending us technicians and probably should have replaced from the start. Needless to say, we are very unhappy at this point.

This is about my front-loading washer. For some reason it ties the clothes in knots all around each other. And it doesnt put enough water in the tub. Sometimes a load of clothes is still dry in the centre when I take it out. Since its the water that cleans and your soap just helps the water, this makes the washer ineffective and difficult to use. My last front loader did neither of these things, but I was told that the quality of that brand had declined so went with LG, as Id had good experiences with some of their other products. BAH!!

New 2018 LG set top load stacked set - $2500. Washer shakes at spin & dryer shakes because of it. There is something metal in the dryer slamming against metal when all of this occurs. LG won’t fix this — under warranty!!! This repair takes 2 hours - they want me to pay for this flaw. To top it off our clothes smell like a moldy wet dog - from a few months of owning I can smell my husbands “clean” t-shirt across the room. Oh yeah add vinegar, bleach, leave door open, drain the drain, buy expensive tablets to clean every week, run a clean cycle - and use tons of water doing that. Save water? Not now. LG you need to step up your repair game & fix these things.

What sets LG TVs apart from the rest of the pack is webOS. The platform is easy to use and works extremely well with modern electronics. Moreover, with so many installable apps, we officially cut the cord this year and have only gigabit Internet.

I spent weeks researching the best W/D to purchase. We purchased top-of-the-line LG washer and dryer in July 2012. Now 8 months after purchase, the dryer stopped heating. We have a technician coming tomorrow but LG representative was sure to make clear that it could be our fault and therefore the repair may not be covered under warranty. Now I have found that many people have had the same problem. It is apparent that LG is aware of a defect. Honestly! We were planning on buying an LG W/D for our 2nd house but not now! Its time to do more research.

We have had an LG refrigerator (Model FX25960ST) for 7-8 years. In that time I have had to replace the ice maker twice. The light cover partially melted and will no longer stay in place. Yesterday we noticed the hardwood floor on the other side of the wall from unit starting to buckle. I pulled the refrigerator out and found a half inch split in the water line on the back of the refrigerator. Water shot out when it made ice. It is going to cost us $$$ to fix hardwood floor (and replace refrigerator).
