I purchased a LG top loader 10 kg washing machine. During a wash cycle it Exploded blowing the top of the machine right off. The force of the explosion was so intense that it smashed the near by window and sent shrapnel flying throughout the house. I contacted LG and asked why are these machines still in family homes. They need to be urgently recalled. After research I have found the same LG washing machines that have exploded in other people’s home. LG refuse to even replace the machine even with a receipt provided. These machines are dangerous. Please Beware when purchasing a LG washing machine. They are dangerous. I’m very thankful that I wasn’t standing in front of it at the time or my young grandchildren weren’t in the house. Very frightening experience and to think the company know these machines have the potential to Explode and do nothing. Very dangerous product.

I dont ever review and this is very uncharacteristic of me but I feel I have to share LGs terrible customer service. We spent over $7k on a whole new set of appliances that were all LG. We cant use our cooktop or the fridge and we bought the top of their line. We are currently over 5 hours on the phone, over a month and half without the use of our appliances, one LG service tech that never showed, never called, and no explanation, and STILL waiting to get our brand new appliances fixed so we can use them. They wont replace them and say they cant find a service tech (other than the no show Froggys from Arnold Mo) in our area to fix them even though they are brand new. So, DO NOT BUY LG AND DONT USE FROGGYS FROM ARNOLD MO.

I bought an LG washer and dryer based on consumer reports/reviews, but I was sorely disappointed. Number 1 problem: Any and all clothing regardless of age, material content, or color emerges from the wash cycle looking like **. I never ever have experienced such rapid and profound deterioration of clothing and linens! It is heartbreaking to see my familys entire wardrobe worn away to the point where I am embarrassed to dress my children. These were items which looked brand new with repeated washing in my old machine and brand new high quality clothing never worn by anyone yet ever! It has extreme wash wear even with minimal HE detergent in a medium size load with extra water and slow spin speed on delicate ones. In addition, when it arrived, it was poorly color matched so the two appliances looked awful side by side (one crisp white and one grayish white). For the first week of washing, the machine stank like chemicals and it transferred to the clothing/linens. I managed to clear that up with repeated scrubbing of the gasket and religious maintenance schedule of hot bleach washes, leaving the door and detergent drawer open at all times when not in use. It was way too much work and heartbreak, especially considering the positive recommendations it gets from consumer sites and the price to buy it!

Have owned this LG front load washer for 2-3 years. If I could move it myself, it would be out to the curb for the garbage today. I have rebalanced this machine more times than I can count and it still just walks all over the laundry room. Nothing but JUNK!!!

Replaced our Elite Kenmore (LG) with new LG. Very happy with updated features. The new LG agitates the clothes much more than the Kenmore, thus clothes are cleaner. Only dislike is machine is louder and water pump is little annoying, if in a laundry room where door shuts all will be good.

Forced to replace my (good looking) 2 year old LG refrigerator (LFXS30726*/LFXC24726*) due to it not functioning, cost to repair, lack of parts availability and difficulty in finding a repair person who, when found, suggested to get a new but totally different brand. Third year of LG front loader and something failed and punched a whole in the thin cheap plastic outer tub. Costs for repair is 3/4 the cost of a new washer due to it being so intensive. Front door has leaked since day one. I contacted LG about it and was pretty much told, you are on your own.

We purchased an LG WT4970CW washing machine in August 2014 from Best Buy. Shortly after using it, I noticed some of laundry would be dry on top, especially sheets. Sheets would be pulled tightly across top of drum and be completely dry - obviously were not touched by water and detergent. Then, on subsequent loads, the machine kept giving error message: UE which means the load is out of balance. Machine shuts off in middle of cycle and you have to open the lid, pull the laundry out and rearrange it, close lid and machine turns on again. However, during one load, this happened up to six times and it took me four hours to complete one load of laundry. I dont stand by the machine while it is doing its job, so when I would expect the laundry to be done, I would go to my basement only to see the UE displayed which meant it wasnt finished.I had a repair person come to my home last week (10/2018). He called and spoke with an LG technical support person. He explained the problem and was told I was doing the laundry incorrectly. The LG agent told him I have to wash only like items at one time. In other words, if I have a load of jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, mens underwear, socks, I need to sort the clothes and wash the jeans separate from the shirts, separate from the underwear and socks!!! The machine goes out of balance almost every time I wash two bath towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth along with a nightgown and some underwear. The LG agent said I should only be washing towels (up to six bath towels) at one time and nothing else. This is not how REALITY works! It would take me a full day to do the equivalent of two loads of laundry. It would also defeat the purpose of the water-conserving feature of these new machines. I would need to do six tiny loads of laundry in place of my normal two loads. Also, I do not have enough clothing to wait until I have a full load of just underwear so it is a normal-sized load. I dont even have enough pants and shirts to wait until I have a full load of just pants to wash. This machine is only 4-1/2 years old and I have to replace it. I also bought the extended warranty, but was only offered a one-year extension for parts only. Of course, the warranty expired in August 2016.The repair person said there were no parts to replace or would make sense to replace, because the cost of the repair would be almost the cost of a new machine with no guarantee it would fix the problem. He told me my complaints are very common complaints he has heard over and over from his customers regarding their LG machines. The repairperson highly recommended I buy a Speed Queen TR7000 which works almost the same way my 35-year-old Maytag washer worked and it comes with a seven-year materials and labor warranty. Cant wait to give the LG machine the heave-ho and get the Speed Queen machine! I will never buy ANY LG product as long as I live.

I am very disappointed at the integrity of the knobs. They look and feel like good quality, but I am disappointed to find that inside the knob hole is plastic (not good quality). After just over a year (warranty expired, of course), two of the knobs cracked inside the holes and will no longer turn the burners on correctly. Within the first year of owning a new LG gas range, the 5-burner control knobs were breaking where the knob slides onto the shaft of the gas control mechanism. I tried repairing it myself and it worked for a while, but now they are so bad they need replacing. Why can it not be made of metal? This simple solution would solve the problem. While searching various parts replacement sites, the knobs are over $70.00 each to replace, 5 x 70 = $350.00 for knobs? Is this customer service and support after the sale? I am so disappointed in the quality of these knobs and the expense to replace them that I may replace the whole range on principle and never purchase an LG product again, of any type. What happens when I put the new knobs on and they crack and break? Another $350.00 in todays dollars for knobs? I dont think so. I have checked around and there are no replacement knobs of better quality available. LG needs to get their act together. After almost one and a half year only, now all the 5 valves and burners are bad and thank God I bought the extended warranty which is covering that problem. The only reason I bought this stove was the look and then I assumed that since it is an expensive stove, it must be good. But beware everybody, do not buy this product! I will keep on saying that until they fix my stove either by replacing it for once and for all. But at least I found a nice rep who promised to send me 5 new knobs as they have upgraded those knobs with metal inserts. Lets see if theyll work or not!

This built-in oven came with the house. Its beautiful. But, I dont think its ever worked quite right. There are lots of things I like about it - the proof setting for proofing bread, roll-out rack, convection roast mode. However, it does not hold oven temperatures properly, preheats slowly, and the fan is noisy. It is now totally dead at less than 6 years old, and wont heat on any setting. We are waiting for a service callback, who knows how long it will be. I would not be surprised if parts are no longer available as this seems to be a problem with LG and Samsung. If we have to buy another oven it wont be an LG. I wish I could find an induction or smoothtop range that performs well but does not have a lot of electronics, which seem to be the bane of all modern ranges. I am an experienced cook and baker but do not like gas as we have a tight house.

The LG customer service is by far the worst that I have come across and I have worked in sales for god sake! The refrigerator we have had has broken about 4 times in the last two months with the repair people only being able to come in two weeks after the incident and saying that they cant replace the compressor until they have someone else come in and review the situation a week later making the first house visit a complete waste of time and not even necessary in the first place. On top of this upon calling the company themselves you will put you on hold for up to four hours while you hear the staff laughing in the back because they didnt even mute your end of the line properly with them telling you that theres not point in transferring the call to speak to someone else because they know what they are going to tell you already and this is coming from the staff themselves. Their products do not work properly as advertised so while the fridge wont give you any indicator that says that the temperatures are not adequate enough to store the food or cool it properly causes many health concerns that the staff did not seem to care about one bit. Due to the inability for this company to have some sense of product quality control I got very severe food poisoning to which I have a doctors note for and was told that I was lucky that it didnt result in death if I had eaten enough but unfortunately we dont all get so lucky. A couple of days ago we had to put my cat down due to sicknesses she received from her food not being cooled to the proper temperature and suffered greatly to the point she threw up so much bile that her insides became so inflamed that it made her unable to walk or even put pressure on herself to which I again have a Veterinarians note for and the staff not thinking it is a big deal because apparently it was just a cat and not a human even though I could have suffered the same fate as her to which they probably would not have blinked an eye too. After being put on hold and trying to solve this for the fourth time I was told someone would come in today that was sent by the company (11/29/2019) to which no one has came and they are not responding to my calls further proving that you will get the runaround. After all thats happened I just wanted to have a good thanksgiving or would have even settled for a thanksgiving at all but the food has been spoiled for almost three weeks now with my family being unable to refrigerate anything and still having to wait for a second review from the company themselves on the 6th which makes you question why the first person came in to look at the fridge in the first place. I was frustrated before not being able to eat properly but after four hours on hold and the head of their technology department saying that someone would be here today I had thought the problem was closer to getting fixed but im guessing that the no show for the promise that someone would come in today and the fact that they are not responding is their way of telling me that they dont really care and just said anything they could to get me off the phone. These products are not only unreliable but also unsafe and if you have a family or little kids should take into account that you are putting their lives at risk by using their products as well as your own with you being lucky if they take any accountability or even respond to your calls to do so. All in all I am not mad but just incredibly disappointed as I sit here waiting on the same problem to be fixed and not being able to feel the fur of my cat/hear her little footsteps around the house anymore as I am constantly reminded of it by the death trap that sits in my kitchen. If this can happen to me I am sure that it can and probably has happened to someone else and since I see that there are responses from the company on this website, I would also like the same with the hopes that this problem will be resolved because everyday that I wait is resulting in further irritation and if not responded to am prepared to take more extreme measures considering the loss of life that has occurred and negligence of this company/their staff. Also on a further note, keeping your customers on hold and then not even muting them properly while you take the time to joke and laugh about the loss of their pet is very unprofessional and needless to say not the way to do business especially if you dont know how to properly mute them so that they at least cant hear you while you mock them because they deserve that much at least. I will be awaiting a response on this matter and will reply with the best way to contact me/whatever information is needed to resolve this issue that has gone on longer than it should have and am hoping that you take into consideration how this could and probably has been affecting the others that trusted you enough to use your products/expose their families and loved ones to them. Thank you.

My refrigerator is less than 4 year old and has stopped cooling. It is either a loss of coolant or a failed compressor, both of which are still in warranty. They scheduled a tech to investigate the problem the following day. This appointment was canceled by LGs automated system after the scheduled time for the visit with a statement that they would schedule something within 3 to 5 business days. I called LG to express my pleasure at the level of their customer service and was told that the repair will probably take somewhere between 5 and 7 days IF the parts are available. In the meantime, I am without a refrigerator.

Eventually started the dryer on fire as it was right next to it. The entire house is almost unbearable from the smell of the smoke.Called LG and having a difficult time communicating with anyone. Not really sure who else to contact as I seem to be getting nowhere. We bought a LG TrueBalance washer/dryer set 4 years ago and have several issues with the washer. The first was when the motherboard went out in the middle of a cycle, locking clothes and standing water inside. After almost 3 weeks of waiting, the board was replaced and our stinky clothes were free. Now 2 years later every single load has issues spinning. It will spin for a minute or two and then flash UE. I rearrange and it does the same thing 2 minutes later. After a few weeks of this I shut it off and let the dryer do more of the work with a complete load of wet clothes. I strongly dont recommend this set to anyone unless do not have anything better to do but sit in the laundry room and watch the washer. Horrible set for the price!!!

I spent a lot of money on the MOST expensive LG refrigerator, stove with two ovens, dishwasher and microwave. The refrigerator model: LFXS30726S/00 is the French doors on top and the pull out lower freezer with 2 drawers on bottom. I have had these for three years. I have 5 kids. We live in a nice, well kept home. Nobody trashes our things and yet these expensive appliances have failed us many times.Refrigerator started collecting ice in the very back behind the panel (2 months into owning it). The compressor is bad after 3 years of owning. The part is covered but I have to pay $400 towards the labor and the parts not covered. I just lost 100s of dollars of groceries (just went to Costco and stocked up two days ago). The repairman says that he replaces this exact part over and over. LG knows that the compressor is bad and they won’t fix it. LG has foreigners who can barely speak English take your calls and they play dumb. The dishwasher is all scratched up and dented from little bumps that never dented my GE Profile appliances (granted they were not stainless). The upper and lower oven are a great concept but the upper oven burns the bottom of almost everything. The glass panel on the lower oven door had what looks like dark grease running in between the glass panels and you can’t clean it.The microwave has been pretty good but it came shipped with a broken part. The refrigerator water filters are super expensive for what? THEY ALWAYS LOOK DIRTY. ALL PRINTS SHOW UP. Every little thing shows up on the stainless. Sears told me that they had upgraded the stainless on this product and the handprints don’t show like it used to... BULL CRAP. They look dirty from the time you get them until eternity. You can wash them every single day and they still look streaky and just plain embarrassing. And to top it off, we have no refrigerator for 6 people until Feb 28th providing that the part comes in on time. He says that the compressors go out on almost every one of these refrigerators and they are perpetually on back order. LG, you should be ashamed of yourselves. This stinks. I cannot afford to take 6 people out to eat every day. I trusted your name and fell for the looks of the product. Super disappointed with this purchase!!!

Literally the day I finished paying for my $2800 French Door LG refrigerator, it stopped working. At first I thought it was the ice maker. Had a repair person out who reset it and said to call back in 24 hrs if it didnt work. After 24 hrs still no luck, but now Ive started realizing that I keep throwing stuff away in my refrigerator after just a day or so because its gone bad. Finally after about 2 weeks of this, I realize that the refrigerator is not cooling, despite the 32 degrees reading on the outside temp setting.Call another repair person out after calling several that dont deal with LG because they say theyre garbage and he says he cant fix it, to call LG and ask for a courtesy one time flat rate repair. I do that, he comes out, and says its the compressor which is on back order until May 20. More than 2 weeks from now. Wonder why the part is on backorder? Maybe because its garbage and everyone seems to have the same problem? Please please please dont make the mistake of buying these products. They are absolute junk. As are Samsung as well. These are the two all the repair people Ive spoken to say to stay away from.

Id owned my firs LG refrigerator since August and it was horrible. It was delivered broken and in the beginning, LG wanted to send technicians out to repair the refrigerator instead of just sending me a replacement. Because I had to keep escalating the situation, the replacement was determined. It took two months for the replacement to arrive. In that aspect, I was not pleased at all. I had to go back the retailer and they had to give me a loaner refrigerator. In terms of the product, I’m a big fan. I am pleased with the replacement as so far, its been working fine and hasn’t given me any problems. I like the overall layout of the refrigerator, but I find the icemaker and the water dispenser very noisy. When I requested they put that in email or allow me to also record the call, was told they would terminate call if I recorded. This is concerning since they acknowledged they were recording call. After over 45 minutes on the call they stated they would send a service repair order to a company call Best Servicers of America. The bottom line is after late or missed appoints, and now 2 visits by repairmen telling me about the lack of quality of this LG refrigerator, still Ice maker is leaking. Bought it in 2015 with 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot, nice features and look, first time no cooling in 2018, linear compressor broke, had to buy a small freezer to move the food as the service came after a week, then another week for the compressor to arrive. Then in 2019 the top ice maker not working getting frozen, tech changed sprayer. Now, Oct 2020 the freeze and fridge not cooling, it seems to be the compressor again, need to wait one week for tech to come, overall a joke. Other techs recommend not to buy LG or Samsung as the parts not ready available and break frequently. Buying a GE this time and waiting for LG tech to repair and have it donated as do not have space to keep it as back up. What is the point of having a nice fridge if not reliable cooling.

Major issue: EASY CLEAN is not. There is no self clean feature which seems unbelievable in a $775 range. We like others (we with two new knees) used the easy clean three times exactly how suggested in Manual. Also after 2 phone calls (and later 3 emails) was told to bake at 375 degrees with water (like in easy clean method). Later told to try mixing vinegar and baking soda. NO luck. If I may also mention setting the timer to either bake start/stop or to simply use the timer usually turns oven off. Not sure how to overcome or understand that process. There are a few other suggestions but if only the oven would get clean we could use the oven w uncovered dishes, steaks, etc.

Purchased a BRAND NEW Kenmore Elite 2014. Within 6 months, had a frozen drain which froze up the food in the refrigerator part. It was under warranty, so fixed without cost. I lost food though. In Jan 2019 the evaporator, compressor and dryer broke!! It would have cost close to 1,000.00 to fix, so I bought a service contract with Sears, monthly cost of 50.00 to cover all the new appliances I had purchased from Sears. It still cost 99.00 for the diagnostic. I lost food again!!! Now July 10, 2019 the evaporator broke again, not even 7 months old and again I LOST FOOD!!! I returned a call back to customer support and the gentleman said to hold on he was going to call the technician. Then he comes back and tells me that he can’t get in contact with the technician but here is his number you can call them. After calling for the last 4 days still nobody to repair freezer! But oh does it get better because this morning now the refrigerator part is not cold. So again I contact customer support and the guy tells me he can’t get in contact with the technician. We have tried all week long what makes you think you could contact them today. Then customer support told me that he is going to change repair technicians and the earliest they could come out to repair would be 2 weeks. I said I can’t go 2 weeks without a refrigerator, could they reimburse me with another refrigerator. The answer is no we can’t do that till the technician says it’s un-repairable. So okay geniuses what do you do for 2 weeks with medication that needs to stay cold and not being able to afford eating out every day for 2 weeks. Just another complaint about an LG front load washer not being able to complete the spin cycle due to the load not being able to balance. Many have suggested dumping the LG and getting another brand. Often the other brands have the same issues. Samsung is one. Another problem is who is actually making the other brands, such as Maytag, etc. Often you just exchange brands, then you exchange terrible customer service centers, poor customer service centers, poor warranty service. In an attempt to make these products more feature rich, they become too complex, too problematic, too difficult and expensive to fix. I am sure that the companies are overwhelmed with complaining customers. If they get in a pattern of fixing a few machines, then all users will expect their machines to get fixed. The companies are not going to do that. Hence, the customer suffers. There should be more consumer protections regarding these products and their repairs.

Wow! Before I bought the LG Model WT5101HW in Aug. 2010, I could not find bad reviews on this washing machine. I wish Id investigated further. It is just as noted in other reviews; not enough water in most cycles, not energy efficient (1:09 hr. cycle will take up to 1:55 hr.), water levels will sometimes leave clothes dry and still dirty. Machine has been recalled and fixed by service representative (which took three trips), constantly going UE and adding water, etc. There is no way to shorten a cycle except rinse and spin or spin only. I found the only thing that works reasonably well for cleaning is the Bulky/Bedding cycle. This seems to load the water based on level rather than the weight method. But it always fills it full, so I make sure the loads warrant the extra water used. I am considering biting the bullet on a different washing machine when the extended warranty expires in about ten months. I will NEVER purchase another LG product. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

Bought a LG Top loading washing machine WT5270CW and the motherboard failed in 2 1/2 months. The failure caused the washing machine to continue filling up with water and overflowing onto the floor. It flooded out our garage and fortunately was discovered before it flooded the entire home. LG warranty service is horrible. They have you troubleshoot it, so they can save the cost of a repairman coming out. Their LG repairmen never call you nor show up for schedule appointments. LG, themselves, when you question what is going on, admit they dont have the parts on hand to fix it. Come to find out, my parts are on back order for 7-10 days. They further tell you that they have 30 days to fix or replace. In the meantime, I have dirty clothes piled to the roof. Do Not Buy LG! Never so unhappy with a product and company.

Still under warranty my refrigerator stopped working after five months. Ive had repair people at my house eight times now in a four month period. Today the repair person walked into my house without knocking or ringing the doorbell. My dog stopped him about 5 feet from the front entrance way. The service call for today was for the repair person to tell me only that the part is on order. Again LG wasted my time. I asked the repair person, Why did you come to my house to tell me this, you couldve called!!! The customer service and the repair people at LG are not trained and do not know how to handle the customers nor does the company know how to stand by their product.I am asking my credit card company to dispute the charge because LG sold me a product that does not work. LG is now lying. Setting appointments without my knowledge. Their documentation is not correct and they say I am canceling my appointment. Executive desk also lies and makes up information and incorrect documentation. One person said that she would send me $150 for my food replacement. Later found out thats no such policy. My refrigerator stopped working December 2016 and it is now beginning of April 2017. My Refrigerator is still broke.

I purchased the washer and dryer because I had had good experience with my LG television. To my total surprise, these two products are absolutely the worst pieces of junk I have ever experienced. What I would give to have my old washer and dryer back. The water level does not half cover the clothes and they come out almost as dirty as they go in. I turn the ** thing on and off until the water level at least cover the clothes. Im not sure what goes with the dryer but the clothes come out stinking and I keep turning the dryer back on thinking they are not getting dry enough and are mildewing. Ive tried everything I can think of and used so many different products to try to get a better result, but nothing works. I hate my LG products.

Dont buy this refrigerator! 2 months after purchasing the freezer stopped working, the food thawed out, then it randomly started working again. The next month it started making a loud buzzing/drilling noise on and off the entire day. Its so annoying, you dont want to be in the same room! LG said, its in defrost mode, your ice is too full! Took their advice and nothing changed. Home Depot says they cant do anything until its been serviced by LG three times. LG is sending out a tech but even if they fix it Im stuck with a defective product that I still have to pay full price for! I want a partial refund or a replacement but neither will do this, I just have taken another day off of work and continue making the payments! I wish I would have done my research. I now see online that many others have had the same problems with this product. Take my advice, dont waste your $ on this product!

We bought a $3,000 LG refrigerator 4 years ago. A few weeks ago, it failed -- an error message about a motor. I checked and found that the very refrigerator model had been the subject of a class-action settlement over the defective product. LG NEVER NOTIFIED US about the class-action suit, and the settlement has now been closed. LGs response to our problem: You are now out of warranty and a repair will cost about $350. This is truly a vile company which sells defective products. (We also had an LG TV die after five years.) Buyer beware!!

I have purchased the dual front load washer (WM3470HVA) and dryer (DLGX3471V) on Oct 24/13. This past February the extended warranty expired. Did not get my 400.00 gift card. After the warranty ran out my washer does not turn on. Had to google the problem many others are having. Need to unplug the machine, hold the buttons, then plug back in. The lettering on my washer and dryer started wearing off after couple of months. Called Sears. They do not cover that under warranty. Last night I called LG support, the person that answered my call did not know English too well and he did not know much about the products. His conversation was um, um, um. Poor customer service. This was the first time I purchased a LG and it will be my last. I have had Kenmore appliances for over 15 yrs never a problem or repair. Hoping in finding a solution for the lettering on my control panel. I will never recommend LG products to family and friends, very bad choice. In future it is best to check reviews before purchasing any products. Lesson learned!

I purchased the above noted range back in March 2014. Just recently, there is this noise from the fans when you turn the oven on. It does not matter if the oven is on convection or just nonconvection mode. The same noise still exists. We live in Saint John New Brunswick. I called a few appliance companies to service the oven. I was told, we do not service LG ovens.I went to the facility that sold me the oven and asked if they knew of a service representative. I learned from the store that sold the appliance, there is no one in the area that services these LG products!! We called the LG 1-888-542-2623 number just to be told that there is no one in the area that services these! Buyer beware-dont purchase LG products!! They cant service what they sell! We purchased an LG dishwasher last year. Since it has been installed, the performance of this product has been terrible. The washing and drying cycle is terrible. I contacted LG, and they sent a repair service 3 times and it is not working better. Now that the warranty is not good anymore, they dont even want to consider a replacement. But it never worked well. It is the worst purchase I ever did and the worst experience ever. I still have many error codes and it is not even drying anymore. LG Top Load WT517OHV washing machine is very stylish. It has a window on top so you can see into the machine. What we dont like: it smells very musty between loads. You cant wash rugs that have a rubber backing. You cant wash water-proof or water-resistant items such as jackets. The machine doesnt fill with water for a full load. Weve tried all the settings. Every time we wash a load, we have to set the egg timer to come back after 10 minutes to shut the machine down. We then reset it to fool it into filling the drum entirely with water. How do you wash a full load of very dirty clothes with the tub filled with water half way or less?Yes we called LG several times for help. Our opinion: Buy basic washing machines w/o water saving sensors. Save your money because you only need standard settings to wash your clothes effectively. Wash only full loads to save water. Weve had this washer and an LG dryer DLEX5170/71 for two years w/o mechanical problems.

I have a 2 year old white French door refrigerator on which much of the plastic has yellowed: ice maker surround and trim on doors and drawers. As others have reported, we now have expensive ugly refrigerators and LG refuses to correct the problem, calling it cosmetic. I wonder how many LG execs would happily live with this cosmetic problem. Good plastic does not yellow; vinyl fences look great for many years despite constant exposure to sunlight when they are made of UV-resistant vinyl. LG just made a serious error in plastic selection and does not care enough about their customers to fix it or rebate our cost. So I am reminded every day why I will never buy another LG product and will tell everyone I can to stay away from LG.

December 15 - I took delivery the LG gas range, opened it as the delivery truck was leaving (they did not install it) and I noticed the interior glass was not seated properly and had a small crack. The delivery truck had just pulled away, so sending it back at that moment wasnt an obvious option. I immediately called Home Depot, who gave me the LG customer service number. In my first call to LG, they immediately offered me a compensation check to have a repairman fix it. I agreed to this. Then LG transferred me to their parts and repair dept. The person in parts and repair said it couldnt be repaired, because it was not installed yet, even though it is just the oven door. At this point LG customer service number was closed for the day.December 16 - I called Home Depot service back first to get help. They personally called LG and had a ticket created in the LG system for replacement instead. They said in about three days I would get a call to schedule the new range delivery. December 21 - I hadnt heard from LG yet, so I called them. They said a manager there had cancelled my replacement ticket without calling me to let me know(!), because I had been issued a damages check, and I could no longer get a replacement. I explained that LG Parts and Service told me I could not have it repaired, because it wasnt installed. LG said they would send an independent technician out and they would decide whether it can be repaired without installation. December 26 - Technician is no call, no show.December 27 - Technician comes out, tells me LG will probably just issue a replacement, he has to submit a claim. He will call me in about 3 hours with an answer. I dont know what this means for the damages check they were going to issue? December 29 - I start calling the repair company back for an answer. I talk to someone there 1-2 times a day thereafter, each time they say they dont have an answer, but will in a few hours. January 5 - I give up, the appliance repair service isnt calling me back. I call LG, say I dont think a claim was ever submitted on the oven door. The notes in the system at LG now seem to indicate I was in the process of a replacement, rather than repair? NOW, three weeks later, they say a replacement *can* be done (I am not confident I will receive the damages check anyhow). I am fed up, I tell them I want that damages check at this point, so they will have to find another company to repair it.They transferred me to LG parts and service. I asked parts and service if they can simply send me a new oven door, and I will send the old door back? There are two metal clips that hold the door on, you just flip them up and slide it out, I believe its designed this way so you can take the door off to clean it. They will not let me handle this. I am given the name and number for a new repair company, and told they will be in contact with me ASAP. The new repair company hasnt contacted me yet, and isnt answering their phone right now. Both repair companies have very low ratings online, complaints through the BBB as well - though with something this simple, I dont really care - as long as they can repair it quickly. That doesnt appear to be a possibility. The LG repair and service escalated my request, which was supposed to lead to a callback from an executive team within 48 hours. They never called back.January 8 - The Twitter account for LG helps me in a direct message, which was more effective than any phone call I placed. They arranged an LG employee technician in my area to repair the oven door. The Twitter account person said it was requested the parts be pre-ordered, repair date is January 15. January 14 - I installed the oven in preparation for arrival of my new oven door parts. January 15 - The LG technician calls and says we have to reschedule because of a back injury. 1/19 was my new date he gave me... But then I asked if he pre-ordered parts. They were not pre-ordered. The technician checked stock in your system for the door glass. There is no stock available on the door glass, he doesnt know if there WILL be stock on the door glass in the near future, but he has put the order in now. He said to check back in two days for a status whether there will be glass.I made a big mistake installing the oven beforehand. I followed up with the Twitter account person, who was helpful again, but said the system indicates he has not ordered the glass yet. January 17 - The second outside repair shop, which I never was able to get ahold of, showed up at my house while no one was home, called me and said they were there to fix the range! They said LG (India call center, parts and repair) set up the appointment date and time. No one from LG called me about there being an appointment scheduled. I told them I have a factory tech already scheduled, they didnt have parts to fix it anyways.January 19 - When I check the online status, the technician still has me listed as a scheduled repair today. However, the status of the parts are still back ordered days later. How are there not parts available? 5 weeks as of today. Update: spoke to tech, parts are back ordered until at least the end of February. If the parts and service had told me this 5 weeks ago, the first time I spoke with them, I wouldve demanded a new oven. I assume I will be able to get a new oven, has not happened yet though.

This refrigerator performed well the first 15 months however I noticed that the freezer was not freezing properly. I had purchased a service repair warranty with my Home Depot purchase and I thought no worries. I have been waiting since March 21 for repairs. After 3 visits and numerous repair calls with executive service persons Sandy, Gel, Willie and Shay I am still waiting to learn when my refrigerator will be working. Ask the merchant before you purchase how repairs are handled. Ask questions when you purchase a service policy as to what justifies replacing the item. A refrigerator is a necessary item in the kitchen and I feel that waiting more than one month for a repair is horrible.

I dont write reviews but this company is terrible even the authorized repairman will tell you to find a different brand. I bought the bottom freezer fridge five years ago. The worst customer service ever. Im chatting with them online and they provide three service companies that are authorized LG repair guys are use, one of them to come out and diagnose my room refrigerator. Once they tell me the problem I call LG to see if its covered under warranty. I purchased a new warranty through LG to find out that its nothing is covered. My recommendations do NOT buy this refrigerator and if you do buy all warranties. At the end of the day Im over $800 into this refrigerator on top of the initial purchase price. Not acceptable. My wife had put on a fairly average load of laundry into our LG Washer (approx 3.5 years old) on Saturday, November 22, 2014. My wife and I had to drop off our special-needs son at his group home, and we had to run to the grocery store. My other son had errands, so he too had left the house. Upon returning from his errands (approx. one hour after we had left), my son tried to enter the laundry room via the garage entrance. He was unable to get past the door opening, as the washing machine was found in the middle of the walkway of the laundry room, water covered the floor, and holes were present in two adjacent walls. After entering the house through the front door, my son only made it to the middle of the hallway before he noticed the carpet was soaking wet. He proceeded to find the hall bathroom as well as entryway and closets of the bedrooms to be soaked with water with some rooms worse than others. The washing machine at roughly 90 degrees off from where it should be. The sides and back of the washer were pushed out and plastic washing machine parts were strewn across the laundry room floor and hallway (up to almost 12 ft. away at entrance to master bedroom). Whatever occurred, it had to have been a violent shaking with an explosion of parts as it produced holes in walls, denting of the drier, and water to flood multiple rooms. My concern is this could have occurred while we were present in the home and near the laundry room. This is particularly concerning as, prior to leaving, my special-needs son had had spent the night with us, and he was previously in the bedrooms and hallway adjacent the laundry room while the machine was running. This should be a concern for anyone who owns an LG washer or any other washing machine that is capable of such destruction. At this point, the damage to the house and appliances has been approximated to at least $6,000. It is possible the number will increase, should the carpet have to be replaced in multiple rooms. The washing machine has been without any known mechanical issues, since we purchased it from Sears (approx 3.5 years ago). This is the first time we have had any incident with the machine, let alone something of such significance.

Had to buy a new dryer when our old ones cord was incompatible in our new home, decided on the Gas Dryer Model DLGX3571W. Soon after purchase, started making high-pitched whining noise. Also started shrinking a lot of our clothes. Had 3 service calls with seller (ABT, who is awesome), then 2 with LG. First LG tech told me the problem was a missing outside vent. Brought in a handyman - the vent is right there, working fine (i.e., LG tech flat-out lied to me). Second tech couldnt find an issue either, thought the noise was an installation issue.Called LG, they told me that (1) they cant find a problem, (2) its operating as designed, (3) if they bring someone else out who still cant find the problem, theyll charge me, (4) they wont replace it because they dont know whats wrong with it. I asked if their dryers are designed to shrink clothes. Response: We couldnt find a problem. I pointed out that even if they cant find it, shrinking my clothes is a problem. Response: Its operating as designed. I said that my previous LG dryer didnt shrink my clothes, but this LG dryer does that when I use the exact same settings I used before. Response: We couldnt located a problem.

So no big surprise based upon the various reviews concerning LG refrigerator performance. Yes our LG refrigerator stopped working so we called a local repairmen who diagnosis the issue as a compressor failure (which seems to be a common problem), but due to the labor cost and after considerable effort we got LG to send their own technician to come out on their cost to fix the problem. The technician was great and after repairing the compressor and the evaporator (also faulty) we thought all was good. Unfortunately the fridge still didnt work so he returned and after numerous hours and effort he informed us that oil had entered into the lines and there was nothing else to do but submit a request to LG for a reimbursement. We are currently waiting and cannot get any info concerning our status and whether we should keep the fridge to return and that reimbursement process may take up to 4 to 6 weeks for a prorated reimbursement amount. So we have already have waited six weeks without a fridge and will potentially need to wait another six weeks before we have closure and honestly Im not too optimistic based upon the length of time and the ambiguity that each person gives us on the phone. Although each customer service rep is nice it is unfortunate that LG does not give the autonomy to make a decision even when their own repairmen have given forth their assessment. I realize that products fail but when there is an obvious trend LG should be fast recognize and not strong their patrons along. Its just bad business.

I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

I have an LG front loader, real nice. Easy to use, don’t like the idea can’t clean the area where you place the soap and softener. It should be easy to remove to prevent mold etc. The model we have even though you can place a large quilt inside it is still wet after the first spin. You have to do a drain and spin in order to get the excess water out. Maybe it would work better if it was a top loader without the agitator inside.

I purchased an Lg Washer and dryer a little over a year ago. Within the first year I had to have the washer repaired a total of four times with three of those repairs being done for the same issue. When I bought the washer at Pacific Sales in San Dimas Ca, I purchased an extended warranty. Just recently, the washer began to leak water again. I contacted the warranty department and notified them of the problem. They sent a technician out and he deemed the washer unrepairable since it had been repaired for the same thing several times. I then contacted LG and told them that they needed to replace my washer or give me my money back. This washer is a lemon. They told me that I was out of warranty and that I had to deal with my extended warranty company. I told them that I already had and that since the problem was a pre-existing one, they would have to replace it.So after two months, I still dont have a washer that works and not only that, I have a wash room that has been damaged due to the leaks from the washer. My wood floor has begun to warp. I have done everything that LG has asked me to do and provided and they continue to give me the run around and blaming everyone but themselves.

Bought LG appliances for our new home a year ago; love the refrigerator & stove, but hate the dishwasher! I too, wish I had researched this website before purchasing. The dishwasher does get bad odors occasionally, & my husband checked the filter in it, but it was clean. I put a cup of vinegar in a wash cycle of dishes & it went away. The reason there was no food in the filter is because we thoroughly rinse, almost wash, the dishes before we run it 1-2 times a week! Very disappointed in the cleansing of the dishes! If a knife had mayo on it when put into the dishwasher, even a small amount, its still on there when it comes out! Doesnt clean coffee stains out of cups, either. I would never buy another LG Dishwasher or recommend it! It is very quiet, but I would trade the noise, for clean dishes! No other problems so far!

I bought this refrigerator at Sears with the extended warranty and after a year I havent noticed it rusting around the ice and water dispenser. Ive called Sears. Ive called LG and Sears flat out says they do not cover rust on their extended warranties and LG doesnt want to hear about it after a year. Ive had plenty of problems with the ice maker. Makes ice until the bin is full and then it tends to freeze up and not eject ice out anymore. 2 things you can take away from this review is not to buy from Sears and do not buy an LG refrigerator.

So my LG stove stopped working I purchased it at Home Depot and 2 of my burners stay on HI and the other two on LO. I contacted LG about and they said there was waiting list. We need to cook and this is unfair because I need my stove. I cannot cook on HI all the time. I am very unhappy with the service because I contacted them and they said that they would take about a week to come look at it. I cannot leave my kids without eating. This is just plain and simple. Its not okay to be doing that to customers. I regret buying this stove for the reason that LG has no responsibilities on their customers.

We purchased LG French Door refrigerator 2012. Every year we have had service. I keep paying a fortune for the extended warranty increasing the cost to over $3000.00 now. Now the compressor went last Monday, and a week later, they cannot even tell me when the part will be in, it is on back order. I explained to several people that this is our only refrigerator. We lost everything in the freezer and refrigerator with the exception of some items that fit in our outdoor camp size refrigerator. We have been buying ice, for the cooler to keep milk in the house. Today they still cannot give me an ETA on the part. This is offensive, that you pay good money to purchase the product, good money to insure the product, and then you wait and I was told it take weeks. No loaner, no replacement. I WOULD TELL EVERYONE LOOKING AT REVIEWS, do your homework, do not purchase LG.

This is totally unacceptable and I can see why there is a class action suit against this company. I will be posting on all social media how LG handles its customers on an item they know is flawed. We bought this refrigerator in 2016. It was between this and the Samsung. I liked the looks of this one and it has a great reputation. I did not like the 3 small vegetable drawers, but thought it was minor and I would get used to it. I still do not like them. Celery doesnt fit unless cut. The only really good place to store big milk jugs is in the door which is supposed to be the worst spot to store milk. Other locations would make accessing all corners awkward. But these are minor compared to the real problem. The refrigerator stopped cooling about 4 months ago. The repairman said LG was aware that the coils had been made with inferior material so replaced it for free. (Should have been recalled before I lost all the food in my freezer and refrigerator). Since, the parts were replaced the unit has been extremely noisy. I can hear the high pitched noise upstairs from the kitchen. I called the service guy to come out again. $175.00 later I was told that it is a more powerful compressor and nothing can be done about it. I may have to get rid of it because it is driving us all nuts! Its unacceptable. Refrigerators are expensive! If this is the best LG can do, I dont want anything to do with their products!

Approximately 2 years ago, I purchased an LG front loader washing machine from PC Richards in NYC. I called LG one year later complaining of a moldy smell in my machine and on my clothing. They told me to do weekly maintenance and keep the door open. I have NEVER heard of such a thing and believe that a customer MUST be told about this prior to purchasing the machine. I did as LG told me because as a working mother, it was easier to just do it than to call and complain again. I was so angry after I spoke with them and listened to the uh huh, uh huh bad attitude. Last week my 7-year old son, walking from his bedroom into mine, walked into the door in the middle of the night (my son cut his leg). I am furious! I called LG to tell them I want a different machine or my money back. Nothing! This is something that must be told to customers prior to purchasing the machine, not after.

I purchased an LG washer and dryer from Home Depot about 18 months ago. I got their top model at the time top loading. After about 15 months I noticed the paint around bleach dispenser beginning to bubble up and so I removed the blue tray only to find machine has been rusting. I thought perhaps its because when pouring bleach we sometimes get it between the plastic and machine. Then when looking under, I noticed the entire machine has massive rust buildup to where its flaking and falling on the plastic edges of the drum. After contacting LG about this issue they pretty much said Im out of warranty and oh well. At the rate of the rust Im guessing another 2 years and metal clips / screws will pretty much break during a spin cycle and nothing I can do about it except share this troubling issue to save someone else thousands of dollars on LGs poorly protected product against moisture. That 10 year warranty sticker is such a gimmick since these wont make it past 5 years with the crazy rust buildup. I did some research online and found that many other users have gone through the same frustration. I hope all the negative reviews will get LG to better insulate metal surfaces in their machines. Even my car comes with 10 year 100,000 mile warranty against rust yet washer has no rust warranty?

Man I wish we would have paid for new racks for our old KitchenAid. My blood pressure rises every time, every time I load up this crappy LG dishwasher. The tines are badly located, what is with the big area on the lower rack that had no tines? Because of the rack/tine design, we get about 20% less dishes in this thing. Then it runs forever but that is part of all new dishwashers. I like how sites say to run the water first so the water is hot. Yep KitchenAid heated the water much better. It had a heating element on the bottom that dried the dishes. KitchenAid had a filter on the bottom that was easily removable. The spray arms on the LG are so flimsy. I wonder if they will last 2 years. Errr!!!

We have an extended warranty which would not cover replacement if broken within 3 months. We now have a shelf that is also broke that is not covered by the warranty. We do not have children living at home and are not hard on appliances. The plastic in this fridge is very brittle and does not stand up to normal everyday use. LG does not allow purchase of parts, even through an appliance repair, so you can replace these parts yourself. In Canada you must pay a service person to come out to replace these parts!!

I have been trying to replace a broken shelf support in my 10 year old refrigerator. The part should cost about $20 and without it, the $2500 refrigerator can barely be used. I have found the part number and contacted everyone on the internet that claims to have one. One parts person told me that they had several in stock in past years but this was a high demand item and they could not get anymore. Universally I was told that the part is no longer available.I finally got through directly to LG customer service and (after being disconnected twice), was informed that LG does not make or keep parts past 7 years after a product was made. Nor did they have a substitute for it. They said I should call any local parts companies to see if they might have one lying around. I explained that no one has this in stock and asked to speak to a supervisor. The rep took my information and assured me that I would hear from a supervisor within 1 hour. That was two days ago. I have had a problem with a different (small) LG product in the past, but cannot believe how little they support their customer base. There is no way I could recommend to anyone that they should try this companys products.

We purchased an LG refrigerator (model: Lfx28968ST) about a year ago so it is a new appliance. It stopped cooling so we called LG customer service to have a technician come out with no resolution. This problem has persisted since April 9, and we have had 3 technicians come to try to fix the problem...all have failed. To make matters worst, the first technician scratched our wood floors pulling the refrigerator out so now there is damage to our floors. LG promised us that after the third attempt, they would replace the entire refrigerator unit for us. However, I spoke to them again today and they are trying to send out another technician... this will be the fourth attempt to fix it! The most recent technician that came out even called LG himself and recommended a brand new appliance as he felt this one could not be fixed! I spoke to a manager today who was very rude and basically informed me that I needed to provide more receipts and information and that this would be a long drawn out process because we are now claiming damages for our floors. She did not even apologize for the fact that we have been without a working refrigerator since the beginning of April (today is May 15, 2014) and had a rude attitude!! Not to mention all of our food spoiled, and we have not been able to buy groceries during this time coupled with the fact that our hardwood floors are now substantially scratched/damaged, and LG has broken their promise of replacing the refrigerator as they are insisting to send out more technicians and order more parts...and to top if off rude, and unhelpful customer service/management. I am not one to complain and have been very understanding up to this point. I will never ever buy another LG product EVER AGAIN! I cant believe a company like this is still in business!

Fire hazard, the knobs are plastic and strip easily, causing them to turn on by themselves if someone walks by the stove and bumps into it. I have had my house fill with gas 3 times in the past 3 years and I have had the knobs replaced 3 times. One day my entire family is going to die in this house because of this stove if they do not create a better knob as this problem shall continue. No integrity to the knobs, they look and feel like good quality, but are neither functional nor safe. I am disappointed to find that inside the knob hole is plastic (not good quality). Money pit stove waiting to kill my family.

Run away as fast as you can from any and all LG French Door Refrigerators! They are beautiful on the outside but are like a rotten apple full of worms on the inside! We were taken in by its appearance and didn’t realize that its running parts are defective! Reviewing many of the other comments there is a reoccurring theme, that of ice makers, compressors and fluid lines within a 3 year period. Don’t be fooled. LG knows about the problems and defects of this refrigerator, when you call the LG repair number the prompt even asks if you are calling to repair the ice maker!Don’t be misled...this is a disposable refrigerator with a 3 year lifespan! My experience is the same as many of you, ice maker went then the compressor and fluid (in the secret enclosed unit) that only a licensed LG technician can work on and good luck on finding one! I called 16 repairman and all of their responses were similar...I don’t work on those, they are junk, need a special license”. I found one that LG referred me to and he quoted $99.00 to just come out to diagnose the problem. I already have paid a repairman to diagnose the problem, then $600.00 plus to pay for the labor, sure the warranty covers the parts but it’s nearly impossible to get the parts in a timely manner and find a LG licensed repairman.LG Company should be ashamed of how they allow this product to continually go down the assembly line of production “knowing” that the defects have not been addressed. And then appealing to the eye of the consumer while in reality stealing from them. Shame on you LG! I am definitely going to check into an active Class Action Suit against LG so I can be heard. And if youre listening LG...I want a new fridge! You owe me that!

This fancy 3 door fridge refrigerators bought at Lowes in New Orleans on June 6, 2013 has been a nightmare since I bought it. A week in my home and the ice maker stopped making ice. Repairman replaced the ice maker. Ice tends to stick together. Recent problem is the LOUD clicking noise when the ice maker is turned on off. Customer Service somewhere overseas said this noise is normal because of wear and tear. I explained to the man that using the thing 8 times in one year is NOT wear and tear. He said it is. I put the phone next to the ice maker for him to hear the clicking noise. My son who bought the same fridge on the same date last year does not have this problem. Very kindly he said they are going to send the repair man but I have to pay for it. Unnecessary to tell you the long and stressful conversation with this man. Apparently I am wrong and LG is correct. I said to this man, after he said our conversation was being taped, that it was great news he was taping our conversation because I would on line and make sure the entire world LG knows about the lousy customer service, confirmed again by the guy at Home Depot when I went there on Monday to buy a new dishwasher. Obviously there are two brands of DW I dont buy: Bosch and LG.This man overseas said he would send the repair man and I insisted, make sure I dont have to pay for it because I am still under warranty. If this man tells me I have before the work begins, I would let him go and contact you again. LG can spend millions on Dollars in TV commercials, they fail to realize and accept that the best advertisement is by -word of mouth-. I am extremely unhappy with this fridge. The left side is cooler than the right side. No veggies can go on the left side as it freezes them. My suggestion: move over to another manufacturer.

I called the repair company that was used under the warranty and they came out to look at it. They found the drum to be cracked at the weld. The gentleman I talked to said that he would email me the paperwork so that I could make a claim. Well, the email came in without a claim number which I needed to attach the pictures and original purchase receipt. Well, the email came without a claim number. I emailed them back and was told I needed to call customer service. Two days later, I get a phone call telling me that they wouldn’t cover the cost of a new drum because I already had it replaced. Mind you, this was two weeks after the initial call. Well, needless to say, they refused to reimburse me because I didn’t want to wait for them to send one of their repair people out to look at it so they could charge me another $80.00 just to look at it on top of the $50.00 already paid to another company to find the problem. The LG washer started making oil spots in our clothes. I learned from a friend who is a technician to apply DAWN dishwasher liquid to the spots and let soak. After washing, if the spots come out, its from the machine. I have to clean my machine once a month with a commercial cleaner that is expensive to use. The problem with the washer is that all the cycles except for the towel, bulky items, and large loads do not use enough water to get the soap out of the clothes. The so-called water saving modes are causing the spots. LG tech service is of no help. The LG dryer lint tray compacts the lint so if you dont clean inside the lint trap, the tray will not go all the way down. I had several clothes that were torn because of this. I will never buy another LG appliance again!

Over the weekend (on a Saturday), my refrigerator was not cooling properly & the food in the top drawer of the freezer was melting. I called LG repair & was told that someone would come to my home on Monday between 1-5 pm but would call with a 2 hour window. They assured me that they had diagnosed the problem (my refrigerator has a system that they can use to diagnose using my cell phone). They assured me that the repairman would have all the parts with him and the cost would be $225 flat rate for parts and service. At 3:34 pm, I called LG to let them know I had not heard from anyone and they told me that they would text their repairman. An hour later, I still had not heard & called back. They again texted the repairman. Within 5 minutes, I received a call & was told that he was 20 minutes from my home. The repairman arrived and spent less than 10 minutes, all the while speaking to someone on the phone who was directing him on the review of the refrigerator. He told me that he had to order a part, a Grill Fan Assembly, and that he did not have the part available on the truck. He told me that the customer service operators were overseas and had no idea what they were doing. He told me he would squeeze me in the following day for the repair between 1-5 pm.At 3:45 pm, I sent him a text using the number he called me with the day before. No callback. I texted the number again at 4:45 pm. No return. I called LG who told me they would text him. I got a call within 5 minutes & the tech told me he would be at my home in 18 minutes. He arrived and changed the Grill Fan Assembly (while in and out of his truck talking on the phone) and left about 6:30 pm telling me that the refrigerator should start cooling. Needless to say, I woke up this morning and the food in the freezer is all defrosted, and the refrigerator/freezer is warmer today than yesterday, and the defrosted food is leaking all over the floor.I called LG repair this morning & spoke to someone in India (same as the first two times I called), who told me that the best they could do would be to send someone out on Friday or Saturday, 3 days from now. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that no one was available & that I could check the website for new available times for repair. I have now called a local repair tech and they have assured me that they will be out this morning to assist me with this problem. I would rather pay more to have the problem fixed correctly than to deal with LG. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid except for the refrigerator, I liked the LG better when I was looking for new appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE!

Purchased washer less than 2 yrs ago. Direct drive motor busted and LG has NO IDEA when can get motor to fix the machine. THEY DONT HAVE THE PART, NO IDEA WHEN WILL HAVE IT. Guess I wasted my 800.00 on a piece LG junk. Absolutely the last LG purchase ever.

At just under three years of being in service this model (31925ST) requires significant repairs that are of course not covered by warranty. I have utilized the poorly written troubleshooting guide with no remedy. This refrigerator sounds as though a helicopter is running in my kitchen! I guess I should not be surprised. I also purchased a dishwasher from LG and a range from LG at the same time - all have had issues that are dismissed as cosmetic items like the stove knobs melting, the plastic calibration strip off or the dishwasher rack that does not remain in position. I will go back to GE! The stainless steel on LG is so thin that by looking at it wrong it seems to dent!

My family member purchased this brand new refrigerator and in six months the ice machine was not working. We called LG for service and their diagnostic testing resolution was to not open the refrigerator door too often. We responded that opening the doors should not cause the ice machine to malfunction. We reset it; and eight months later the compressor goes. This thing is a lemon. What saved us from further expenses is the fact we had purchased the extended warranty. We did lose food and LG reimbursed us up to $300.00 for the loss. There is no way that a $4000.00 fridge should be breaking down this fast. We have had models costing far less (hundreds) that has lasted 15-20 years: the repair man stated these smart models will only be lasting 6-8 years. Ours hasnt lasted six months to just over a year. My advise, keep it simple, and avoid LG products. There was a local news story that LG contracts out the parts production to many different smaller companies all over the world, so they cant be blamed for their lemons. One must sue the parts company.

UPDATE- LG did send a repairperson on August 2nd and a new compressor was replaced. I was told this refrigerator has defective compressors. A&E repair sent the new compressor prior to the repair date so it would be here and I wouldnt have to wait for it to be ordered and wait even more time, which I was very grateful for. I am now waiting for LG to call me for compensation to a French Door refrigerator that was full of food that was lost due to this problem not to mention the inconvenience this has caused. Thank you LG for coming through. I wish you would have been as attentive to my 52 tv when that went not even 2 years old.

Dont buy an LG refrigerator! I paid too much attention to the breakdown of the refrigerator, and it has been a month and a half since it broke, but it is still the same. I used it so far with a 20% discount on the LMXS28626S in June 2018. When I opened the freezer around the end of January this year, everything was melted. I called the LG Customer Center and changed the compressor on February 10, and it broke two days after fixing it. I called the repairman who came last time and came in a hurry. After checking, he said that he couldnt fix it.. There was a leak somewhere inside, but he couldnt find it. He contacted the repair center and said they would fix it. There was no contact even after waiting. When I called the customer center, they said that I had to talk to a repairman at the site, and that he would send the repairman again. And 10 days later, I finally got the case number... When I called the customer service center a few days later, I used it for almost 3 years, so I subtracted what I used and gave a refund. I got a 20% discount, so I couldnt buy the same refrigerator with that money, so I asked for a full refund if I would give it a refund. He said there was no such thing in company regulations. I would use the refrigerator for more than 10 years if it wasnt broken. What does it mean for you to make such a product, and the consumer will suffer the loss?? They tell me to clean up the broken refrigerator. Its not in company rules... Your company lost more customers because of me.

My repairman ordered part# AEB73764502 for my refrigerator Model# LFX28979ST/00 3 weeks ago and he is being told its still another 3 weeks before it comes in. This is completely unacceptable service on LGs part. I will probably be forced to buy a new refrigerator (it wont be LG again) as the current one gets warmer with each passing day and the danger exists of food spoiling and I cant wait another 3-4 weeks for a part.

I purchased an LG washer and matching dryer in April of 2014 from Best Buy. I was drawn to it because of the see through glass design. I thought they were cool looking. The salesman pitched it as a top of the line product, I fell for it :-( I cry every time I start to do laundry. My clothes NEVER come out clean. Some of it comes out of the washer dry! This is the worst purchase I have ever made. My old washer did a perfect job and I wish I hadnt purchased this crap. Im out $1600.00 for something I thought would be amazing. I spent a ton of money for dirty clothes. Best Buy came out to repair it, they said the motherboard needs to be replaced. After reading these reviews Im not hopeful at all. Dont fall for LG smart technology. This washer is crap!
