This machine very quietly does nothing. It does not clean dishes. The 18 year old antique worked. This does not. Glasses are actually dirtier with food residue, as though it never empties the dirty water! What is worse it takes 1.5 to 2 or more hours to do nothing! We are going to ask Home Depot to take it back. As a modern appliance this is a disaster.
Samsung 17.5 cu refrigerator - Wish I had read earlier reviews before purchasing. Six months after installation, the refrigerator quit cooling. Numerous phone calls to Philippines and Dominican Republic and still waiting for resolution. Preferably a full refund so I can purchase a different manufacturer. Poor quality all the way around this company. Buyer beware!!
Bought Samsung refrigerator RF267AEBP in 2011 and has had problems with freezing the back of the inside wall as well as dripping water to the bottom of the pantry drawer. Piece of junk for a $2000 dollar fridge. Do not recommend this refrigerator and Samsung will not recognize this defect on their many products with similar problems.
Same issue as William. Purchased the RFG298HDRS refrigerator with bottom freezer drawer less than one year ago. Recently, noticed the inside of the freezer and all contents were covered with furry frost. Thought door was left open on accident. Noticed instead that the weatherstripping seal was no longer touching the refrigerator when drawer was closed. Took all contents from freezer. Drawer would still not close all the way. Turns out like William above, 1.5 inches thick-1 inch thick solid sheet of ice covering inside of drawer housing- floor of the freezer housing. Took upper freezer drawer out and was able to remove solid sheet of ice in two pieces from bottom of freezer. Now drawer closes fine. This is really an unfortunate situation. I think the water that leaked before we noticed the problem, has ruined the floor. (The flooring wasnt my choice, it was here when we bought the place. Not ideal for a kitchen but what can you do?) At any rate, drawer now easily opens and closes. I will watch for it to become more difficult as time goes on and will add emptying freezer and chipping off sheets of ice to my growing list of things I have to do to accommodate other peoples stupid design flaws.
Purchased a top-of-the-line refrigerator in 2018. Began having problems with the ice-maker/distributor almost immediately. After 2 years of service calls to fix it, Samsung declared it unrepairable. The warranty had expired by that time and Samsung offered a discounted refund in September 2021. After many confusing and contradictory responses and a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, my complaint was elevated to the office of the president in October 2021. Since then, assurances of the partial refund have also been responded to with confusion and contradiction. The complaint cannot be elevated and the representative is unresponsive. Supposedly, there is no higher level to complain to, and I cannot get my promised partial refund.
Updated on 09/25/2020: Horrible, horrible product. After 2 replacement units, it is still not working properly. More freezer frost than a 1949 Admiral freezer. Not frost-free! I give up!! No more Samsung for me!! Beware! Beware!Original Review: Samsung Refrigerator Freezer Purchase. Location: Home Depot, 7740 Craft Goodman Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Date/Time: 02/24/2020, 1:36 PM. Installation: 02/29/2020. 03/01/2020 - Unit will not cool or make Ice. 03/02/2020 - Called Samsung Customer Service to report problems. Repair Technician scheduled by Samsung. Technician performed repairs. 03/06/2020 - Called Samsung support again to report that unit stopped working again. They confirmed that technician reported that unit (RF260BEAESR/AA, Serial no. JKKM4BBMB00362) could not be repaired. My call was transferred to Samsung Business Center 855-681-6917 who ordered a replacement unit to be delivered 03/12/2020 at 9:15 AM. Technicians delivered replacement unit and picked up the original refrigerator. (Confirmation # **.) Replacement Unit is: Model No. RF260BEAESR/AA, SERIAL NO. JKKM4BBN200768Z. 06/28/2020 - Ice Maker quit working. No ice. 06/29/2020 - Called Samsung Support to report that the ice maker is not working. Support person walked me through all troubleshooting protocols including unplugging the unit and pushing the rest button. Support then informed me to wait overnight to see if ice appeared and they ended the call. 06/30/2020 - Called Samsung Support at 10:30 AM to report that the ice maker is still not working. Placed on 14 minute call back hold. No ice after 14 hours! Support transferred me to a “higher” department and placed me on hold for 27 minutes (per my phone timer) until Samsung dropped the call. I called support again and had to wait in the phone tree for 18 more minutes for a call back. Christina, Samsung has prepared a repair service order, #**.
We have had our refrigerator for about 3 years, thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, when we started having problems it freezing up behind the back panel of the refrigerator. Also the temperature and humidity was good. The repairman came out 3 times, each time we had to empty the refrigerator let it thaw (actually, we couldnt store a lot in it because it wasnt cool enough). Finally Samsung wanted the repairman to film himself using this specific tool unclog a line, after a week they could not find the tool. According to the repairman this is a known problem for the Samsung refrigerators. Finally of weeks not being able to use the refrigerator, we got a replacement check. I love the design of the refrigerator but dont ever want to deal with this again. Now I am trying to figure out what brand to buy. I think they all have problems.
I purchased a Samsung range a little over a year ago and also purchased an extended warranty for this appliance. It has a drip going down the front of the glass. I contacted Samsung and they suggested doing a steam clean. Obviously that would not work. Two technicians told me not to have the glass replaced that it would only happen again as the seal was broken. Samsung will do nothing as it is cosmetic and now Home Depot Extended warranty will also do nothing because of same reason. If this is an ongoing problem, we should have been made aware of this before purchasing. Also should have been told this problem would not be covered under the extended warranty. This is not a happy customer although I do like the stove. But for the amount of money I paid for this, it should not look like it does after a year. And how many times is this going to have to be done? Probably would not buy another - ever.
JUST DONT Buy ANY Samsung Appliances. If you are even considering buying any Samsung Appliance, find the FB Samsung Refrig Recall page & read reports from all the unhappy Samsung Appliance owners. Sadly I have recently joined that large & unhappy group of ~$2500 Samsung Refrig owners that now dont have a working ice-maker due to a defect & Samsung has no workable solution to repair it... Oh, & if you even lightly brush against the stove controls the knobs turn on... The Microwave sounds like a Jet plane... etc... etc... So JUST DONT...
It is less than 2 years that I purchased the double French door bottom freezer Samsung model # RF260BEAESP refrigerator. The water leakage into the below the crisper drawer area has started to occur. This problem has been mentioned by many other people. Samsung must acknowledge and repair this problem. No one should ever buy any appliances from Samsung. They really have disgraced themselves and their brand name.
Well Samsung would be one of the good ones on the market today and I would go as far as saying they keep beer as cold as any other fridge does. The price is ok and the value for money is ok too. Samsung make a lot of good products and never let me down so everyone should try at least one or more. In fact I need a new tablet. Can anyone help me?
My Samsung Fridge Model #RS265TDRS started acting up after about a one year. I noticed our milk spoiled prematurely along with other items in the fridge. I remember hearing the fan in the fridge sound louder than usual just a couple of days prior to this. It appears the coils have froze up with ice causing the fan to ice up also stopping it from spinning causing a domino affect. I will have to locate the receipt and upload at a later time. I see this is a very very common problem with Samsung. This was not a cheap fridge and to be having this issue this early is ludicrous. I have the unit turned off and am allowing it to fully thaw before restarting it and seeing how long it lasts this time. Very Very angry & disappointed with Samsung.
Bought this item new in September and feel good if we get 3 washes out of 10 attempts. It constantly blinks in the heavy cycle and is basically stuck there. The unit will start up like its going to wash and gets stuck in a drain cycle. Theres no water in the tub - it just runs like its trying to drain. The problem is intermittent which drives me crazy as weve had service people out and the unit worked fine. 2 days later it was back to its old self - stuck in a drain cycle. Aside from this, it does not get the dishes dry and many times the soap dispenser doesnt open - therein the dishes only get rinsed. If I could only go back - I would buy the Bosch any day over this POC.
This is a French door refrigerator, with a bottom freezer (and a drawer within a drawer), plus a middle drawer thats perfect for snacks or things you want often. Water and ice are in the door and the water filter is at waist level for easy changing. I think the refrigerator was thoughtfully designed to serve almost any need for food storage, easy access and easy cleaning. The only thing I might change is the amount of ice that this fridge makes, but that is a trade off for the slim design of the ice maker, allowing more door storage. I love this refrigerator! Whats not to like?!
I have had 2-4 refrigerators and the Samsung is the worst. Within 1 week the freezer was frosting over. The ice maker is useless. It doesnt matter if you have it on crushed or whole cube, it does what it wants. In fact, you cannot use crushed as it clogs up and just drops pieces of ice onto the floor at all hours.
Just bought this microwave and first time using it, noticed a burning smell but I thought was just because it was new. Second time I used it, microwave went on fire. Fire stopped when we turned off the microwave. We then called Samsung who wanted pictures so we turned microwave back on with nothing in it. Again went on fire and we took pictures of the flames and the burn hole, that looks exactly like the pictures others have posted. Been in contact with Samsung for days who are still reviewing the case and whether it will be approved to send out a service guy to repair my burnt up microwave. Im lucky my daughter wasnt near the microwave or we werent defrosting something and left.Samsung takes zero responsibility even though I could have had a house burn down or the fact we just spent nearly 10,000 on all Samsung appliances. This microwave needs to be recalled!! If you google it, so many have caught on fire, yet Samsung does nothing to warn the consumer or even try to fix the situation. Disgusted by Samsung.
The microwave fan and over the range light go on randomly at all hours of the day. Samsung came and replaced the control panel and it worked for a while, then the same thing is happening. I called and Samsung said the warranty has run out so I would have to pay for the repair. I feel the control panel is a faulty design and since the problem reoccurs there is no sense in replacing it. The TV sound bar shuts off two times a day at random times.
I bought all new Samsung appliances about 2 years ago and have had nothing but issues with every piece from fridge to dishwasher and stove. Many issues was during 1st year with stove element going out, ice maker quit working after 1 year, dishwasher leaks, inside of dishwasher plastic parts are melting apart. Worse experience ever and will never buy a Samsung. Whirlpool was never a problem prior.
Don’t buy a Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker freezes up. It is a defect and they replace with defective parts. The refrigerator won’t hold a constant temp, jumps into 50s without the door being opened or inside overfilled. Water leaks into the bottom of the fridge. Should have stuck with electronics.
Bought a Samsung dual electric range and French door freezer on the bottom fridge as well as extended warranty! Multiple breakdowns of fridge with over 4 call outs! Stove smells of electrical burn when using the oven. The stove top receptive plug has had a short since day one. They claim they have a no lemon clause, but these were both lemons. Didnt last 5 years! Will never buy Samsung again and am now wondering about their phones etc. Loyalty begins with quality products and service. Samsung appliances and service are sorely lacking. Dont waste your money or your time and dont trust the companies that sell their products under the assurance that they are a quality product... anyone who sells junk is not to be trusted!
I have purchase three Samsung appliance less than four years ago from Brault and Martineau in Gatineau Quebec, the stove (Model FE-R400SWS) was recently service because I have notice that the top of the door was rusting and had yellow burn marks. The hinges and door seal were replace under warranty job was done by Cosmo-Tech. The extended service contract was purchase from Brault and Martineau under Comerco Service Inc. in Laval Quebec. Comerco refused to replace the damage door because it was cosmetic and not covered under warranty. Brault and Martineau refuses to help because it is a warranty matter. I have contacted Samsung technical service department and they also refuse to take responsibility for the damage door. A new door part number DG94-00223E would cost $350.50. Unfortunately these are the facts and I will let you make your own decision. Thank for your time.
We have a two year old french door model. The ice maker dispenser mechanism seems to get frosted up and stops dispensing cubes. When cubes are selected it wont allow the cubes to drop. It just drops small chunks, you can hear it grinding away. The crushed side works fine. We remove and empty the bin and allow the mechanism to dry out. After reinstalling the mechanism it frosts up within a couple of days. This just started about 4-5 months ago. There are no other frosting in the freezer. Ive read many other ice maker complaints with Samsung.
I heard Samsung carried one of the best dishwashers. When I went to make my purchase Labor Day weekend 2015 the Best Buy sales associate agreed. Let me tell you... This is the worst dishwasher I have ever used in my entire life. My former dishwasher was a Whirlpool, 9.5 years old. I needed to replace it because it would no longer fully drain. Sadly it cleans better than this brand new Samsung. I am constantly rewashing a minimum of 6 dishes after it runs for 3 hours. I have changed detergents, rinsed dishes before filling, ran my water until steam was filling the kitchen made sure my garbage disposal was empty and Jet-Dry to the canister. I wish I had my old dishwasher back. Samsung told me to call Best Buy.
I purchased a Samsung dishwasher in Jan 2014 model #DW80F600UTB/Aa - Do not buy this!!! First off it never dried the dishes then approx 6 month later it would stop in mid cycle blinking lights on panel. After a long hard researching & calling Samsung I was told the issue was the turbidity sensor, I replaced that & it worked for about 3 months. Then it started the same thing, now I am told its the main control panel.. (no I did not get extended warranty). I just got that part but unfortunately the part was bad so I have to send it back for a new one. The bottom line - do not buy this dishwasher. Its horrible. You should stick with G.E. - at least they stand behind their products.
My appliances are not a year old. Spray arm fell off dishwasher. Microwave is a piece of garbage. Refrigerator/freezer makes so much noise that we have to close our bedroom door to sleep because it sounds as if someone is trying to break in. I am so disappointed. I have had to call Samsung for support and am amazed. You can not understand the service representatives. The service representatives know absolutely nothing and continuously put you on hold for long periods of time. Who has time for this? Many dont they stand behind these supposedly top of the line products that cost a fortune? What can I do?
I have a Samsung Refrigerator side by side unit that I purchased from Lowes along with a four year extended service warranty. The Refrigerator unit stopped cooling the first week of August 2014. Via the Appliance Repair company sent by Lowes took a week to come and then had to order parts. The parts ordered from Samsung took two weeks to deliver and were the wrong parts. Today, a month later, the second set of parts ordered were also wrong and I was told that Samsung shipped the wrong parts once again. Samsung cant be contacted nor expedite the parts. The service provider indicated that Samsung has a poor parts department and is not responsive to the consumers need to quickly obtain parts to repair its products. The part needed is now on order once again and I am not optimistic that Samsung is capable of delivering the proper part for its product. I was told that Samsung has many victims experiencing this same issue and simply doesnt care about the consumer.
I bought a refrigerator model number DF32FMQDBSR. It has been less than four months and it is already giving me problems. A tech from Samsung came and told me that my refrigerator is not working because its missing pieces, it also seems that this unit was previously used. I have tried to get in touch with a supervisor or manager but no response has been receive. They do not want to replace my unit.
Ice Maker not working- Refrigerator not staying cold: Already had a tech out to repair the ice maker and the refrigerator and he replaced the ice maker and the back panel on the refrigerator with the two cooling fans. Less than two weeks later and we are experiencing the exact same issues as if nothing had been fixed. On doing research I discovered that this is a known issue and that Samsung used to replace the refrigerators with new ones, but that obviously got too expensive to continue. So now if you are out of warranty you are out of luck! Never buying a Samsung appliance again.
Stove turns on while leaning over stove with the slightest touch. Stove top has started my sleeve on fire and on other occasions turned on leaking gas causing a back flash explosion when turning on other burner. Unit needs to be recalled.
We have had our french door refrigerator serviced 3 times and need service again. First time was the ice maker. They have to replace the whole unit. Then the computer board went, not once but twice. Now the top half is not staying cool. For the price we had paid, this should not have happened in only 5 years. The repair cost so far has been over $1,000.00. If there is a class action against Samsung, I would love to know. I would love to get my repair cost and the cost of the unit reimbursed.
Do not buy any Samsung product in Scarborough, Ontario. If you do, double-check first if they have any service technician in your area. I bought a fridge, model RB194ACRS, and after one year, my fridge stopped working. I called Samsung and they told me that they cannot fix my fridge because they dont have a service technician in our area. Samsung company, if you dont have service in the area, then stop selling your product. AGAIN, DO NOT BUY Samsung products!!!
The machine quit working after seven months. Never really fell in love with the thing. First, the racks are awkward. They look nice in the store but you cant stack dishes in them very well. Next, the wheels pop off the rack when you slid it in or out like the designer had been fired from the Lego factory. Next, the depth of the unit is not a standard depth. It sticks out into the kitchen just enough that when you lean against the counter, you hit the buttons on the front of the machine turn it on or off, or changing the settings. Next, the soap dispenser wasnt designed right because if you put pot or a pitcher too close, the front edge, it doesnt open. Then you have to wait another three hours for clean dishes. Finally and the biggest one is that it must have cheap components. It just died. After the repairman looked at it, he said it could be the control circuit or it could be drain motor. Really? Because when you think about it or if you have ever checked one of these out mechanically, there are only three parts that can break down. He mention two of them. On the other hand, this is the perfect machine if you: 1) Like doing dishes my hand. You can even use the dishwasher racks to dry them on, if you dont mind the two cent wheels that pop off; 2) If you have so much kitchen space you dont mind sacrificing 20 cubic feet for a giant unmovable paperweight; 3) The repair person is good friend you want to send business to until the warranty runs out; 4) You have several hundred dollars that you want to either give to the Occupy cause (heads) or the 1%ers (tails) and tails won and you dont know how else to give it them; 5) You have in-laws that constantly come over and want to get rid of them by making them eat off dirty dishes; 6) You love the stench of stagnant water that develops while you wait for repairs. My old dishwasher was in the house when I bought it 14 years ago. Who knew that the old clunky Roper was good and brand new Samsung was garbage? There are only about three functional parts to a dishwasher: pump in, pump out and a control unit. All three can be easily manufactured to function for 20 years. You have to really try to make something that will go out in less than four years. In other words, your Samsung is designed to fall apart in about 36 months. Following a normal curve, some us end up with the ones that die in less than a year and other will get a machine that last 48 months. I have canned goods in my cupboard that lasted longer than my dishwasher! Something should be done. I know this is long winded, but what else do I have to do while I am again waiting of the repairman to call?
Consumers need to know that Samsung refrigerators have an inherent manufacturing design defect concerning the defrost cycle in the freezer section. If any number of components are non-functional, a sheet of ice builds up behind the freezer panel and the fan is unable to spin even if it receives a signal from the PCB (computer board). This horrible sound described by many customers is the fan grinding against the ice as it is trying to spin. There is a defrost temperature sensor that is read by the main computer board. When the temperature in the freezer falls below 18-22 degrees, the PCB picks up the decrease in temperature from the defrost sensor and sends a voltage signal to the bi-metal thermostat, which closes a circuit inside the thermostat (two metal strips) and sends voltage to the heater. The heaters job is to keep the evaporator coils from developing frost and ice buildup. The same thing can happen in the refrigerator section since Samsung designed a twin evaporator system for its refrigerators, one for the freezer section and one for the refrigerator section. Also, there is a timer which is integrated into the PCB that is supposed to keep the thermostat closed for a specified period of time in order for the heater to do its job. Sometimes, the timer on the PCB is faulty and it doesnt maintain the voltage long enough to keep the thermostat in the closed position in order for the heater to defrost the evaporator coils. Unfortunately, the failure of any one of these components can cause a problem resulting in ice build-up and the freezer not working. Samsung has re-engineered or modified its heater and evaporator systems in its refrigerator models several times over. Also, there are complicated voltage readings that should be read from the PCB, and very few, if any, technicians know how to read the PCB or take the time to perform a full diagnostics test. In order to perform a full diagnostics check, the technician has to put the refrigerator in a forced defrost mode which includes both compartments (fridge & freezer). Most technicians do not like to perform this test because it takes time and time is money to an appliance repair business. If you decide to hire a technician, make sure he performs a forced defrost mode test and reads the voltages at the PCB. In order for the tech to read the voltages, he/she has to remove a panel in the back of the refrigerator to access the PCB with his multimeter. Also, the tech should perform a continuity test on the thermal fuse, heater, thermostat, and defrost temp and humidity sensors. If you want to have a better understanding of your Samsung refrigerator, type in Samsung fast track troubleshooting on Google search.Good luck and make sure your technician performs all of the above-mentioned tests. If he refuses, ask him to leave. I know from my own experience, I will never purchase a Samsung product again. Also, a class-action lawsuit has been brought in a few states by several law firms that combined their forces against Samsung. You can Google Samsung refrigerator class-action lawsuit. The complaint should be there on one of the pages.
Samsung refrigerator 6 wks old and broken. I lost all my expensive food In freezer and so annoyed I contacted Samsung and they told me it will be a week before they can send someone to repair it! This is unacceptable and I want Action Now!
I have a nonworking 2 yr old Samsung refrigerator that has been broken for over 5 weeks. We have an extended warranty through PSEG and Samsung kept sending incorrect replacement parts, and it still doesnt work. I have called Samsung directly... didnt care. My husband e-mailed Samsung and got the same basic help. Samsung does have a record of purchase.
Samsung range/oven Model NE595R1ABSR - Upon contacting Samsung service due to a sensor failure in my top oven, I am told that there is no certified service provider available within three hours of my home. Although my parts are supposed to be under warranty, I was told that they had no information on my ability to obtain a sensor and do the repair myself. Because I now have smoke coming out of the control panel when I bake in the lower, and because the lower oven is making the same sounds that the top made just before going out, it looks like I will have to replace the range. I wont make the same mistake in purchase. I wont buy from a box and I wont purchase Samsung.
Had it only 2 years and its already broken. It stopped cooling the refrigerator side. Stays at about 60 degrees. The error code stated the fan had an issue. Sure enough it was iced up. Called a tech to take a look. He said at first the issue was with the drain. Since the water wasnt draining then everything would ice up. He said he fixed that, and later it iced up again. Then the issue was with Freon leaking.
4 door Samsung Refrigerator Samsung RF23J9011 - Bought this fridge in July 2016 brand new from HH Gregg. A year and half later (Dec. 2017) the refrigerator portion of the fridge stopped working. It was 2 weeks before someone could come look at it. Samsung used a company called MetroTech. I had to pay 90.00 for an assessment and wait another 2 weeks for a part. The problem was with the seal which was covered under warranty as a defect. 2 weeks turned into 3 and the part was installed but it did not fix the problem. So Metrotech advised Samsung to replace the unit which they refused until Metrotech put in another part. Another 2 weeks of waiting and Metrotech put in the part. Upon doing so the inside panel of the fridge was damaged. Plus this did not fix the problem. The 4th time Samsung sent Metrotech out, Metrotech advised Samsung to replace the unit. A unit Exchange process was put in. When I called Samsung they told me they needed a certificate of ownership. I do not have this as it was still being paid for however, the account was in my deceased spouses name financed through Synchrony bank. HH Greg went out of business. Synchrony bank will not let me pay for the fridge because they filed a claim against the remaining balance in probate - even though I tried to pay for it. Probate will not end until sometime in May. Samsung will not replace the defective fridge without it showing the fridge is paid for. I do not know what to do? I think this is horrible and will never buy another Samsung product. EVER.
We bought the RF263AEWP model on August 30, 2011 from Lowes. About a year later, the fan was making a noise. It was blocked by ice build up. We got rid of the food, and defrosted it, with the help of hairdryer, etc. It was fine for a while, then it happened again. We called an authorized Samsung Repair person. He said it would cost over $700 to fix it. We found reviews where other people had this problem and they spent $$ on repairs, only to have the problem come back. So, we didnt pay for the repair person. We defrosted again... Its now freezing up again. Food in the freezer is soft. We are shopping for another refrigerator. If there is a class action lawsuit, we want to be a part of it.
I wish I would done more research before buying a Samsung fridge. What a waste of 3 grand!!! I have only own the fridge for 3 years and the company knows they have problems and refuses to help you or put a recall on their appliances. I will never buy a Samsung. Not even the phones cause they are a horrible company who does not care about the little people. I hope this suit goes through on them!!!
We recently put an entire modern kitchen and addition on our home. At that point given we had for many years used Samsung we upgraded the white GE appliances to Samsung in our home as they were here when we bought it. We bought a new French door bottom drawer freezer fridge, pretty much top of the line at Home Depot. We bought the matching microwave model #ME21H705MQS/AC, and lastly also the matching stove with convection, steam cleaning. The fridge was delivered first and it would not shut off and was very loud to a point were it interrupted conversations. After following their processes and after the technician came and he agreed something was very wrong, we had to them go through their executive center who literally after 20 minutes told they would sent our request for this 4 day old fridge to their engineering department to see if we qualified to have to returned. Home Depot were totally disconnected from this process. They told us they did not accept returns only repairs. We told them and Samsung should their technician who acknowledge this brand new fridge had significant issues and after the so-called executive center began by telling they would promptly resolve our issue. We told their executive center should their decision be to contradict their field technician and not replace and or return it we would seek legal counsel. They called later saying Samsung would return to Samsung. That process has taken 3 weeks since and the unit has been returned back and we await a refund. Think of the logistics involved in such a key appliance as a fridge and not just the food but having two in the house at the same time. We still do not have our refund. Friday night my wife decided make popcorn for the first time as we are only at this home on weekends in our now month old over the range microwave. With seconds she was screaming as it was on fire with flames shooting out of the side panel on the right hand side. It filled our new kitchen with disgusting white thick terrible smelling smoke. We called Home Depot and again the nightmare starts all over with chasing out tails. In various conversations with service people they tells us there are silent recalls. We are not sure about that but in any case why are they shipping products that can cause fires?Google how often this happens!I should have mentioned we have been asking to speak to a Samsung manager since this beginning with no feedback. Why should we keep the stove now??? Had we done our research this would not have happened. It is shame our home has been filled with Samsung products till this series of issues but never again!
My Samsung microwave turned itself on. I could not turn it off - had to unplug it. When I opened it my plastic plate cover was melted completely.
Samsung Refrigerator RF4298HARS - Love the look, functionality and space this refrigerator has to offer... EXCEPT the ice maker is so loud, when it drops it literally scares you. My husband and I have been startled out of sleep. We now turn the ice maker off before we go to bed. We have had friends over who have heard the ice maker and commented on how loud it is. For the amount of money we paid for this fridge, the noise is aggravating.
Save yourself the hassle and do not buy this refrigerator!! I am having the same problems everyone else is. I bought this refrigerator in Nov 2015, then in Nov 2017, the fan on the back started to make noise and then it stops cooling. Then the ice maker stopped working. I have the extended warranty. Today will be my 8th time calling the extended warranty company Warrantech. They are USELESS!!!! Numerous parts have been replaced. All I get is the runaround. Warrentech on the phone tells me its up to the technician to decide if the fridge cannot be fixed. The tech tells me, All I do is what they tell me to do. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR AGAIN. AND BRANDSMART DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS! They make the sale and clean their hands. Very upset consumer!!!!
I have a Samsung Refrigerator, model number RS265TDRS, shortly before the warranty expired the coils started freezing with ice causing the unit not to cool. Since then, it has happened three more times. Each time, I have paid for services, repair and food replacement. Samsung customer service said there isn’t anything they can do but send another tech at my expense. Spoke to a representative who said Samsung couldn’t do anything for me since my warranty has expired. Since it is the same part that Samsung suffered a lawsuit in 2010, I strongly believe this issue has not been resolved in newer models either. My model was not part of the lawsuit. It’s time for a major recall!
My wife picked out a 2 drawer Samsung fridge for $1800 at Home Depot. After 3 weeks I realized one morning our kitchen flooded and into dining room. When I realized the water was coming out from the bottom of the fridge I shut water off. Called Samsung. They were so not customer service at all. Didnt care that one my kitchen and dining room was flooded. I dented our new fridge pulling it out to shut off water. Samsung finally sent out a service person after a week and he replaced pump that was bad. Said he would come back to fix dent and never did. These fridges are crap. Dont waste money.
My husband and I purchased this Samsung clunker in 2011. It is bottom freezer type as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and could no longer manage bending to reach contents. About four months ago, I noticed that the milk was not cold enough to suit me and thus began our ordeal. I can cut out a lot of detail, as it is so very similar to all the other cases, but it concerns the freezing up of the motor and fan in the back. This does not affect the freezer, in our case. The end result so far, (we have another part and new repair company coming in three days), is, after many repair calls, the thing sounds like a B29, but does nothing. I believe, with all my heart, that nothing will come of the new part, and we will be back in the same mess within a few weeks. The ringerreally was something that happened early on. I found a guy on YouTube who made a video showing how to take off the back and defrost the darn thing with a hair dryer! I dont understand, though I know nothing about how to proceed with this myself, why this problem is not cause for a class action lawsuit. Samsung seems to be getting away with murder.
This company is a joke. My refrigerator went out 3 months after we purchased it. It took them 2 wks to get a tech out only to tell us that he could not fix it. I have to call just about every day to ask what going on. Every time their response is I am going to escalate your ticket, you should hear back from us within 48 hrs or 7 - 10 business days and here I am two months and a half after and Samsung cannot provide me with a replaced refrigerator nor a refund. I will never purchase anything from Samsung again!!!
I am extremely disappointed that my 18 month old Samsung Refrigerator RF263BAESR - French Door started experiencing issues. Samsung does not stand by its product and the expense of fixing it has caused me to junk it and buy a new one. The refrigerator is constantly freezing up and then it warms up and ruins all the contents. There seems not to be a fix except to defrost overnight every few months. What is that all about in a self defrosting product? I plan never to buy another Samsung product.
My husband & I are recent retirees. We remodeled our home & bought a new Samsung french door refrigerator. We recently noticed a bubble on the door just below the water dispenser. Weeks later we noticed the stainless steel application starting to peel, showing the metal underneath. I called Samsung and had my problem escalated to Executive Customer Relations. After spending several hours on the phone with them, they advised it is a cosmetic problem and not covered under any warranty. I tried to convince them that it is defective workmanship, but with no luck. We are now stuck with this terrible sight, and no recourse. Do Not Buy Samsung.
We registered a complaint regarding our fridge which we bought just about one and half years ago... The complaint was done on the 4th of June and this is the 8th of June today, and still the problem is not solved. Today we called the service center for four times. Every time we are told that your problem is on priority and will be solved soon... In the evening, a senior executive told us that it is 7 oclock and this time no one can come... and we are told to wait till the coming Monday that is the 10th of June... So we are so disappointed with their services and we found ourselves helpless in this condition. We think that we should not buy any more products from Samsung.
February 24, 2016 - Purchased Samsung Microwave OTR Oven ME18H704SF. March 9, 2016 (Approx) Hung on wall and attached Microwave to newly install Kitchen Cabinet. March 15, 2016 - We were using the microwave for the 3rd time when it malfunctioned. The Internal electrical magnetron mechanism behind display overheated and cut a hole on the right side of the cooking box and started a fire. At the time this happened my wife was cooking a package of microwaveable veggies on the turntable. Cooking instructions were to microwave for 5 minutes on High. When there was about 1 minute left in the cycle my wife noticed a small fire on the inside of the unit. She opened the door and put out the fire. I opened the cabinet above the microwave and unplugged the unit from the wall.March 15, 2016 - Sent email to Samsung through their website with my info, Microwave info and the information above and below: We can no longer trust this unit in our home. Please send appropriate individual to pick up unit. Please send check for purchase price of unit in the amount of $263.74 to the following address. (Home). The Unit can also be picked up at the same address.March 18, 2016 4:50 PM. We received voicemail from Samsung-Canada notifying me that a serviceman will be out to fix Microwave on March 23, 2016. March 18, 2016 6:30 PM. I called Samsung-Canada and told them again that we do not want a service call. They should pick up unit and refund the purchase price to us. [Transferred to 2nd Customer Service individual, Carlton] I told him again that we do not want a service call. Samsung should pick up unit and refund the purchase price to us. He said he noted that in my report and someone will call me on the weekend or Monday 3/21/2016. March 20, 2016 12:00 PM. Received call from Samsung-Canada [Andre] from Executive Customer Relations Department I told him again that this unit is a Out-of-Box failure. We do not want it repaired. We will no longer have a microwave in our house. Pick up unit and refund purchased price. Andre said a serviceman needs to evaluate unit and determine that if it is repairable or defective. I told him, It started a fire, its defective. March 22, 2016 - Samsung sent a Technician from Local Appliance Service to evaluated. He said it was the magnetron and the unit should be junked. Unit was taken to shop for complete review & evaluation. April 4, 2016 - Called Local Appliance Service to request status on Microwave. Lady said she believed it was finished and that she would call me back. Received call back and set up delivery for Wednesday April 6, 2016. (Samsung decided to repair unit).April 4, 2016 - Received call from Samsung-Los Angeles 310-669-4261, she asked about a schedule change to Saturday. I told her that Local Appliance Service called me with a delivery date and I changed it from Tuesday to Wednesday. Then I told her we would not be using the Microwave Oven and I would search out other avenues for getting rid of this defective product. (She did not like what I was telling her and quickly ended the call.) April 6, 2016 - Local Appliance Service delivered Samsung Microwave with new Magnetron, Controller & Capacitor. Magnetron overheated and turned into an out-of-control Laser Gun packing 3,000-5,000 VDC with each Punch. CONCLUSION OF MY ESSAY: My wife and I never want this unit to be installed into any home. Reason being I know that the replacement parts were the same part numbers as the parts in the original unit and have an excellent chance of repeating history.
The refrigerator is good but freezer part is too small. The Samsung customer service is the worst and I will probably not buy any appliance from them again.
Bought black stainless steel refrigerator two months ago. Thought black stainless steel meant black stainless steel, not covered with film coating that is starting to peel and I do not know what to do to stop it from peeling. Other people on internet is having same problems with black stainless steel appliances but cant find out any information how to repair.
I purchased French door fridge (Model RFG298AARS) in May 2010. To be safe, also bought the extended warranty. First problem occurred within 6 months - some sort of electronic (control board) problem. Still under warranty, so no cost issue. The part was replaced at no charge. Serviceman suggested a surge suppressor to help prevent damage to electronic components. Got one and have had no similar problems since. After about a year, ice started forming under the pull-out meat tray, freezing it in place and making it difficult to open. The service tech said it was a manufacturing defect and ground off part of the drip pan. Seems to have corrected the problem. Without the extended warranty, I would be facing a large repair bill. I have also had problems with my Samsung dishwasher and electric stove. l am very disappointed with Samsung kitchen appliances and will not purchase in the future.
I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator in 2010. Within six months, the freezer sensor had to be replaced. Fortunately, I purchased a warranty from Sears. If you would like to spend $2,800 on a refrigerator and six months later, spend an additional $500 for a sensor, then purchase a Samsung refrigerator.
Researched before purchasing, didnt find bad reviews. Bought 4/2018. Did first cleaning in December. Oven stopped during first cleaning and door wouldnt open. Contacted Samsung and they told us that the warranty had expired in 2017! Before we had purchased the appliance! It then took lots 10 days to get someone to come to fix it. When asked if this would happen again with cleaning mode, he replied that it probably would. Now, I ask, What good is the self cleaning feature on an oven, if you cant use it? He also said that this is common with Samsung ovens. Ralph Nader, where are you?
Samsung refrigerator motherboard dies... My 7 year old Samsung refrigerator died leaving a full freezer and refrigerator of spoiled food. Everything had to be thrown out and I had to get a repairman in. I was told the motherboard died. Samsung did NOTHING! Who ever heard of a high end refrigerator motherboard dying?! Beware of buying Samsung. Poor customer service as well. I will now be 6 days without a refrigerator since parts are not available locally... Seriously?!! In Washington DC? I will never buy a Samsung product again.
Samsung 4 Door Flex refrigerator - Shame on you Samsung and shame on me. I did not look at this review site till today. Hence I would not have bought your refrigerator. As with others that I see on the reviews, our ice cube freezer ices up and we have to defrost it. I had a protection plan and they came to fix it, but it happened again 1 month after repair. My plan had ended so there will be no new fixing, which doesnt seem to help anyway. Today I was going to reach out to Samsung but I can see by the other reviews that this is a wasted effort as Samsung does not seem to care. Shame on you Samsung that you continue to sell your product but dont fix an issue that many owners are experiencing.
The refrigerator is new and has been working very well. We purchased this refrigerator on sale and it was delivered and set up. It has an ice maker that makes chipped and cubed ice, and makes more ice than you can use. It has filtered water in the door. It has a bottom freezer drawer that holds a bin for the ice cubes and a lot of frozen items. It has separate drawers in the interior of the refrigerator that are separately cooled. So you can keep your beer at a certain temperature while you watch the super bowl. It is a charcoal color and looks nice. The only thing I dont like is the lights of the control panel are blue behind a black panel and makes it hard to see when you are trying to order water or ice.
I bought fridge, dishwasher, microwave, range, and a washer/dryer for a new house, did my research and thought I was buying the best available. First, within 1 month, the dishwasher went. I made more calls to Samsung than loads of dishes in the unit. The problems ranged from simply not turning on to the motor completely seizing. Apparently there are plastic pieces that break off the wheels and racks and end up lodged in the motor, therefore seizing the motor. This brand new dishwasher has been completely rebuilt. I had the repairman out to house on that unit >6 times. Second, the microwave keypad went within the first six-months, repaired with no problem, but now it’s broken again, and its the same issue. An over the range microwave that cannot handle the steam that rises from the stove top and shorts out the keyboard. Great design flaw and one would think they would fix it, replace the unit, recall it - nope. Its out of warranty and, they wont fix it and more importantly, the part is no longer available (being made - read lemon) so I cannot even fix it myself. Third, the gas dryer ignition went - fix it myself. Finally, the fourth the fridge, (sigh)... I absolutely loved this fridge, loved, past tense. Two years after purchasing, the Main control panel and 2 sensors went on the unit. TWO YEARS. So I called Samsung, and to be honest, the customer service is less than stellar. I was told that it was no longer under warranty, and they would not fix or even consider fixing it due to its age. I was quite polite and asked if I could speak with managers, blah, blah, blah. I eventually made my way up to executive customer service, who knew, and it was there that I was told that if even if they wanted to, they could not fix my unit because Samsung stopped making the MCP. So there were no parts to fix it. I was so adamant about Samsung making good on this fridge. I went without a fridge for 6 weeks while I dealt with them. I tried to negotiate a refund, or some sort of credit, a replacement unit, to no avail. I believe that they should have offered me a replacement unit due to the fact that the unit could not be repaired. I repeat, the fridge was 2 YEARS old. For goodness sakes, my grandmother had her fridge for 30 years. The way I see it, they stopped making the MCP because of the on-going problems with the unit. Basically it was another lemon. So yeah, so sorry for your luck but thanks for your 2 grand, go buy another fridge... and thats what I did. I will never, NEVER recommend or buy another Samsung product.
It appears as though the rear of the freezer is freezing up as the fan is now making a noise. The noise comes and goes as the fan blade chips away at the ice buildup. I called Samsung and they suggested lowering the freezer temp to the lowest setting. After doing some research, it certainly appears that the coils are freezing up and the fan is hitting the ice. I also assume at some point the fan will fail leaving my refrigerator useless like it has for so many other consumers. Apparently there is not a fix for this? Many people have spent hundreds of dollars replacing coils then the problem comes back. I also see that a class action suit has been filed because of this problem. Samsung needs to address this issue that they apparently were aware of when selling the refrigerators.
After we bought it, we had to defrost every 4 months. Ice builds up on behind the refrigerator part. We had to take the cover off and de-ice. It made loud noises, smelled like chemical (like gas) every time you open the door. The tech said to put baking soda in it for 48 hours. Please, Im not stupid. We ordered a new fan motor for it off eBay for $40.00 and a new water filter for $35. Now, we wont need it because we will probably go buy a new one. Samsung is junk. Dont buy one! I couldnt believe all the bad reviews. I wish I had seen this first. The fridge should last 15-20 years. Our other cheapies were better than this $2,000.00 unit!
I contacted Samsung Customer Service about an issue with staining on the inside of the glass on our two month old slide in range. I was told that the issue was not covered by the warranty. That it was normal for air, steam and possible grease particles to flow through the vent above the glass. I was told that it should accumulate on the inside of the glass. I was told that it could be cleaned by a service technician at my expense. I told Samsung if this was a continual problem that it was a design defect. I did not have this problem with either a GE or Frigidaire Range. I was assigned a ticket number. They called a service center in Myrtle Beach. The Service Center refused to come and service the stove even though I would be paying for a service call and the repair. Samsung reassigned this repair to another Service Center. They too refused to make the service call. Samsung has assigned this to a third Service Center. I have not heard from them as of today. If they also refuse to make the repair I have advised Samsung they need to find another approach to solving this problem.Updated on 06/26/2015This is an update on our Samsung range. First the good points: It is nice looking. It functions as intended, that is you can cook on the stove top, you can bake, roast or broil. The bad points: While the self cleaning feature works, it discolored and stained the glass in the oven door. Samsungs position is that is a cosmetic issue and not covered by the warranty. If I want to get rid of the stains I would need to get one of their service contractors to come out, take the door apart and clean the glass. Another option would be to replace the door. The door is poorly designed. It draws air through the grill on the front and exhausts the air through the back. I dont know of any other slide range that does that. We have own two others - a Frigidaire and a GE. Neither had this problem during cleaning.I contacted the service department at Samsung. They were pleasant and helpful in setting up an appointment to clean the glass at my expense. The problem was that the service contractors did not want to clean the glass. Their concern was possible breakage of the glass, which they would have to replace. They also claimed that they could not assure me that the glass would fit tightly once removed. Samsung went through four (4) service contractors. Not one of them wanted to clean the glass. Two of them were willing to replace the door at my expense. The cost of which made it more appealing to buy a new stove. It would not be a Samsung, believe me.
My elderly mother bought a Samsung refrigerator, microwave and stove and they worked well for at least the first year. Since then, the handles on both the microwave and freezer door of the refrigerator have both broken off (my mother is in her 70s and not very strong) and it has cost her literally hundreds of dollars to have servicemen come and fix them because the warranty was no longer valid. She has spent more money trying to fix them than they were worth when she bought them!!! She is now having trouble with her stove, a stove which offers a divider so that one doesnt have to heat up the entire stove just a small portion of it (given that she is generally only cooking for herself). Well, guess what, the stove blew and the only way to get it to work is to remove the divider (the very reason she bought that stove) and Samsung will do nothing about it. These are products that should last AT LEAST ten years before any problems occur. Worst customer service, worst products. Worst of all, I recommended them to my elderly mother! So infuriated!
Problem: Water dispenser began leaking immediately upon installation. Purged system of air but leak continued. Then within a week or so of use, the water dispenser began making a vibrating noise. The noise was in the area where the water line leads into the back of the refrigerator. Solution: After repair service made three attempts, one by replacing the water valve. This eliminated the vibrating noise for a day. The vibrating noise was continuous. The third service call was removing the water filter. There was no vibration or leaking when the filter was not in the refrigerator. The service repairman suggested leaving the filter out for a day then install a new filter. We installed a new filter the next day. It worked. We have been leak free and noise free for several days. So, if you have either of these problems or both, I suggest you remove the filter and install a new one before calling service. By the way, our service company informed us we would be getting a new filter from Samsung since the 6-month period had not been up on the filter.
We totally remodeled our kitchen and purchased new stainless appliances. The refrigerator is a Samsung. We paid for it in November of 2014; it was delivered in February 2014, installed in March and began being used on a full time basis on May 23rd of 2014. We had problems beginning immediately and still are having problems. The problem is the ice-maker. We have been told by one repair person Americans like too much ice but he replaced the ice maker which continued to make twenty six cubes a day. I went to the Lowe’s store manager who was to do something but failed to (big surprise there). We waited three more weeks and complained again and asked for another service provider at the encouragement of friends. They were busy and took three weeks to arrive. They ordered a new motherboard which was installed four weeks later. For the month of November and December of 2013 we actually had ice! Then it started coming out crushed and no cubes. Out comes another guy who says it is the auger… Called Samsung and asked for it to be replaced - got nowhere. Repair guy is coming tomorrow to install the auger. The bad news our warranty is gone as of February 7th. Talking to Samsung is like talking to a repeating robot. Now I have spoken with several people who have had ice problems with this model from day one. I am hoping between Lowes and Samsung someone is going to do the right things. I have owned six new refrigerators in six homes and never been through anything like this. To find out Samsung is aware of the defect is even more upsetting. My only choice at this point is to buy a new refrigerator and employ someone to drop this one off at the Lowes front door. I am still paying for my very expensive remodel and intend NOT to pay for the refrigerator. Lets hope someone steps up to the plate real soon!
Worst product we ever purchased. Still under warranty, 3 years old, ice maker went out during the holidays, one month later freezer went out. Called Samsung they asked for all our paperwork and purchase receipt. I sent it all and the response was that it was not clear enough to read. They suggested I call repair. Did not tell me it had to be a repair service that was contracted with them. Closest one is 1 1/2 hours away. I called local and while he was at our house he called Samsung Tech service and was told it was our compressor and that it was still under warranty. Serviceman did not fix as his company is not contracted with them so they would not get paid. Said he would fix it if I paid the $650.00 up front and worked with Samsung to be reimbursed. I called Samsung they told me they would not reimburse because it was not their contracted serviceman. They contacted their serviceman and he canceled on me saying his guy had the flu, but he sent in a report stating it was not the compressor. How he knew that without coming and looking at it Ill never understand. Samsung refused to pay or help in any way. The only good thing was I called Lowes and told them I was returning it talked with manager of store. He was amazing. Told me to go online and pick out a new fridge and they would replace it. Which they did. With a brand new FRIGIDAIRE! We will never buy Samsung appliance again!!
My microwave caught on fire and I know its out of warranty. Do not expect a new replacement but at least a refund. This could have caught my home on fire. After back and forth with Samsung and a dealer they sent out to say it is not repairable they will do nothing. I sent them pictures of the damage and they still give me the run around. I do not think every appliance that runs out of warranty needs to be replaced and thats what they make me feel like. My ticket # is **.
My fridge was less than a year old when it started to give me problems. Its a defective fridge. It’s been 2 weeks with no fridge and they won’t refund your full money back! My child can’t put her medication anywhere and I explained that to Samsung and they said it’s not their problem. Oliver and Ingrid were so harsh about the situation And I explained my child could die and nothing is being done. They haven’t picked up my old fridge and until they have my old fridge I won’t get any money for A new fridge. Please people don’t ever go through what I’m going through. I can’t even afford to buy a new fridge until they send for my old one and and they get the fridge I have to wait 17-20 business days for my check.
This refrigerator has been nothing but a problem. After 3 years, we had to entirely replace the ice maker for over $200 in repairs (not covered by warranty). After 5 years, we had to repair the water dispenser. At exactly, 5 years and 4 months, the freezer died, 1 week later, the refrigerator died. It is out of warranty and Samsung does not provide any support. In our county, there is no longer a Samsung certified repair shop. No one will even touch it. Samsung finally referred us to A&E factory service, more than 40 miles away. They came out to do the diagnostic today (2 weeks after the freezer failed). The repairs for the broken evaporator are over $700. This was a $1,500 fridge purchased at Best Buy. Samsung has been very disappointing. They are not willing to cover anything or provide product support. Will not buy from them again.
I am going to sound like a broken record on here. NEVER buy a Samsung dishwasher!!! Every single part has been replaced, and yet it still does not work! Technician said there is literally no other parts to replace. Yet Samsung says too bad. If its deemed ineffective they will prorate the machine for reimbursement. At this point, its pennies. I think we should all band together and file a class action lawsuit against them. We all work hard for our money, and for them to provide a misleading, ineffective machine is awful. Model # DMR78AHS Serial # A37LG9MS500980B
We had ice build up and water under the drawers in the fridge within 6 months of purchase. It warped our new hardwood floors under the fridge. We had the repairman come out to fix it. He told my wife it was my fault by not installing the filter correctly - crock. 4 months later called again for the same issue. This repairman was very apologetic and said these fridges get Styrofoam packing material caught in the water line. So, it worked for about 4 months and then same problem again. Samsung will not look at it and suggested we get a home warranty and have them fix it. Ice maker works off and on, is very noisy when it does work. Horrible customer service... worst fridge I have EVER OWNED. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one.
We purchased this dishwasher ( DMR 77) 4.5 years ago from Leons when we renovated out kitchen. After 6 months the heater went but it was still under warranty. Last week the circuit board died! Our appliance technician informed us it was kaput! Really!! After 4.5 years! We baby our dishwasher and always ensure the dishes are well rinsed before going in and we dont abuse our appliances! My former dishwasher which is a vibrant 15 year old + non-Samsung continues to run beautifully in our neighbors kitchen! Shame on Samsung for making such a poor quality product! Now we will have to further overload out landfills with another poorly constructed appliance! In addition, at the time of our kitchen reno we did also purchase an over the stove microwave which died after 3.5 years! Luckily we did have the extended warranty so it was replaced. But during the install one of the supporting screw brackets fell straight into the microwave. We had to get creative to ensure it was well support but my poor kitchen cabinetry has taken a beating! I will never purchase Samsung again! Buyer beware!!!!
I really like this fridge because of the price point. Although I do have a couple of issues. First being I hate that no matter what temp you put the fridge on you will have to eventually manually Defrost because there is no option to do it by itself. Second even after googling how to defrost it you have to basically take it apart and do it yourself no matter what. Thirdly I wish there was a way to either turn off the door open alarm or adjust the time. Overall, I’m pretty happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend as a good starter fridge.
I bought this model a year ago in June 2016. We had one visit from tech so far when refrigerator refused to turn on and cool. Tech came and fixed issue with electronic board. Now just over a year later I am having same problem as previous writer. The refrigerator is not cooling yet freezer is. Am attempting to contact service, but meanwhile all food is spoiling. Our last refrigerator - simple model different brand with no bells whistles lasted ten years without an issue. Would not recommend this model due to issues after only one year plus. Obviously this is occurring after the warranty has expired so it will cost money to repair.
Fridge model RB194 ACRS - Very disappointed with this product, just 2 years old, thought I had done all my research before purchasing. Freezer is working correctly but fridge not cooling. Cost of $1500 and our 30 year old fridge works better than this one. I am not the only person with these problems..
I was so happy to be able to afford to finally be able to buy this refrigerator for my family (model RF323TEDBSR). Mine was manufactured Apr 2012, but we did not buy it until Feb 2013. I used to drool over the commercials of the big, happy family that was loading their shiny refrigerator with lots of groceries and pine for the day where I could actually afford that refrigerator for my family. We have 8 children, 6 who are still home full time, and this was touted as a big refrigerator for big families.Initially, I was very happy with my purchase. It definitely lives up to all the space. The first grocery trip that I was able to fit everything into our new fridge prompted me to put pictures on social media. I was so tickled with it. Unfortunately, the honeymoon was a short one and my relationship with this refrigerator quickly soured. I had issues with a code that kept alarming that was repaired under warranty. The lower ice maker quit working altogether, but it was also repaired. That is all well and good, but its harder than you think to find an appliance repairman who works on Samsung products at all, but especially the refrigerator. Its apparently even harder to actually get parts for the poor thing. As of today, my fridge is a total piece of junk that is a daily reminder of how I was ripped off for over $2500 (and I got a huge discount by being a smart shopper and combining discounts and a coupon). As of today, I am missing 4 of the door bins. All of the bigger ones on the right side where there should be lots of space for condiments, milk and more, they are broken and unusable. I have not been able to obtain any replacements for them at all. Even when narrowing them down on Samsungs website (do you know how many different door bins there are?!), I could not possibly spend the exorbitant prices they are asking... Keep in mind, its still under extended warranty, but the warranty does not cover such things. There is no handle on the freezer. The replacement one fell off, too. I usually have to open a fridge door to open the freezer. The bin inside the freezer has cracked and one has been pulled out because it was not staying in place anymore. The pantry door is gone. It was replaced once, but the second cracked in the same manner and it has not been replaced. The pantry drawer itself is also damaged and comes off the track much too easily. The upper ice maker is completely dead. It stopped making ice awhile ago, though the water still worked. The water used to be fun to try and see if it wanted to work that day. Some days youd push the dispenser down, the light would come on and nothing would happen for awhile. It eventually stopped dispensing water at all. So now no ice or water up top. The repairman fixed it once, but its now broken again. And yes, the filter has been replaced with a genuine Samsung filter. When it was fixed, the entire apparatus that holds the filter was replaced. But again, no ice up top and no water. There is a crack on the white plastic on one shelf portion over the crisper on one side and a larger chunk cracked out on the other, to the point the glass shelf edge is partially exposed. So much for humidity control.More recently, the fridge seems to be running warmer and my produce is dying off at an alarming rate. I am now looking at replacing a 2.5 year old fridge (which is still under an extended warranty!) that I feel totally duped into believing was actually meant for a family. I used to love this thing, now I hate it, and that makes me sad.
Like the stove, but difficult to clean the oven, the self clean is not effective at all. My berry pie leaked, I have cleaned the stove twice and when used still smells like burnt sugar and the bottom is stained. Very disappointed.
I bought a Samsung Rs2530 Bbp refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2008. It made a lot of ice at first, and we never ran out. In less than a year, it stopped cooling and decreased ice output. I set up a service call, and they replaced something inside behind the icemaker. They told me I needed to have less stuff in the freezer for it to work right. They extended my warranty to three months, and said the icemaker would work. On Christmas Eve, it quit cooling completely; they couldn’t get anyone out until after New Year’s Day. That ruined all my food and our holiday. They then said I cancelled the service call the day I took off to meet with them, and that I had to reschedule. That meant two vacation days off work. They got it running, but it still didnt make much ice. Then the warranty was over. Back in June, the power went out and it quit cooling again. I had one light flashing on the front. I found Jonathan ** of ARC who said he could work on Samsung appliances, and could come the same day--unlike the people Samsung wanted me to use. However, a few hours later the refrigerator just started working, so I told Jonathan I would get him to fix the icemaker in a few weeks. The power went out again last Wednesday; it stopped cooling, and I got the same flashing light. I tried to research the problem online. I found out that either the unit could be reset (didnt work), or it could resolve itself (didnt happen the first day like last time). Also, it could either need a control board (found for $60-$70 dollars), or depending on which light was flashing it could indicate a faulty sensor. Since I didnt know which, I had to call Jonathan. I told him I needed to know what part to replace. He came in asking questions like he hadnt spoken to me like, “So what is this flashing light for?”, “It just isnt freezing?”, “Looks like its working...the lights come on when I opened it.” and “Let me check the compressor.” After digging in it for a little longer, he asked me about the flashing light AGAIN, and said it was the control board. He could fix it for $450.20! He said the spare part was $260 and that he could get it in about three days. He would apply the $89 he was charging for the service call to the bill, or that he could get me the same refrigerator new for about $2000 or used for $1000. Really? I paid less than $900 when I bought it new. I decided to take a loss on the $89, and get the control board since he gave me the part number. Guess what? It wasnt the control board. I replaced it; I tried all the resetting and still had the same problem. I left it in a few hours to see if it would start working. Nope. I took it back out hoping the parts store would take it back. They wouldnt. I stopped payment on Jonathans $89 check, since I was now out of $72 more because of his wrong information, and the food decaying in my refrigerator and freezer. He not only tried to overcharge me for 5 minutes of work, he also misdiagnosed the problem and knew less about it than I did. I decided to just get a used refrigerator over the weekend, but late Friday it just randomly started working again. Okay. I bought new food and cleaned it out. We had a thunderstorm today and lost power. You know the rest; flashing light, not cooling and no one can fix it unless it fixes itself. Samsung shouldnt make refrigerators as I see this or similar problems all over. Jonathan ** of ARC is not qualified to diagnose or make repairs, and will rip you off.
Samsung refrigerator RF217ACBPXAA - I purchased a Samsung refrigerator less than 2 years ago. Water accumulated in the vegetable and fruit bins. A repairman came and fixed the problem. One month later, it happened again. A repairman came and fixed it, but said he couldnt say that it wouldnt happen again. Freezing occurs and clogs the water from making ice, therefore backing up and coming into the bins. Less than 2 weeks later, it happened again. Samsung says that the repairman has to state that it cannot be repaired for them to take another course of action. I searched online and found this to be a problem with many. I am considering a class action suit. Please advise.
Just a note to say that it is beyond me how a giant company like Samsung can sell such sub par products and allow themselves to disappoint millions of customers with their extremely horrible customer service. I cant even count how many bad reviews there are out there about numerous Samsung Refrigerator models, not to mention all the other product issues as well. We too purchased a terrible fridge model RF267 and have been dealing with the ice maker freeze up and water leaking among other things for years. Its appalling to me that Samsung can let this go on and on for years on end. If a company refuses to build a good product and refuses to be held accountable for their lack of knowledge in engineering and complete disregard for customer satisfaction, they should no longer be in business. Bye bye Samsung... The electronic world is far too competitive. Its only a matter of time before what you have dished out comes back to you.
Dishwasher given as a gift. It cleans better than my old one which did not have storm wash or sanitizer or delayed wash. The control dials positioned on inside of door are easy to clean. I like the section on lower rack that cleans off dirtiest dishes. The slots in basket hold silverware in place or you can open up for larger utensils. The top rack has 2 areas designed to hold any light dish in place. The rack slots for placement of dishes are angled so bowls are difficult to load. Overall looks and ability to clean make it a bargain for the price.
I really like the style and the size if the refrigerator, the ice maker sucks. It puts out very small ice and it is wet ice, a lot of it gets broke up, dont take long to melt!
I have been working to get my 2 month old dishwasher repaired after getting the run around with numerous tracking numbers. The last conversation I have said they would return my call within 5 days. NO CALL. I am still at square one. Last step is to e-mail the executive manager @ **.
The oven was always taking awhile to preheat until it stopped working completely a month after warranty. Samsung will not repair it even though Im one in many customers with the same issue. I will never purchase anything from Samsung again. I just bought LG washer and didnt even consider a Samsung.
Nightmare... Purchased the dishwasher June of 2014, 2 years later water wall error 7E, which is an expensive fix. It involves two motors and a sensor. Called several service technicians in our area, they all stated that there are several service bulletins and TSIs posted for Samsung service technicians in regard to this issue so it would be best if I called Samsung because Samsung should fix for free because it is a product defect that is warranted. I called Samsung at 1.800. Samsung and spoke with William in customer service. He agreed that this is a defective issue with this Samsung dishwasher and that they would offer me a one-time extended service agreement and would set up an authorized Samsung service company to come out and fix it.The next day I received a call from the Authorized Service Company, Quick Fix and they said that I would have to pay for the service because it was out of warranty, I stated what William had told me. They said, “Well, in addition to this not being written in the notes, we no longer service your area so Samsung will have to provide another authorized service company for your unit.” So I called Samsung back and spoke with supervisor Tyler (employee number- **) and Layla (employee number **). They stated that William had not written it in the notes for the extended service warranty and that Samsung does not even have an authorized service company in our area, so they wouldnt be able to help us. We have asked them to review the recorded service call with William as they stated that they couldnt honor because it was not in the notes.I went back to my warranty. It states that Samsung will cover all parts and labor if it is deemed to be a defect issue. We went back to Best Buy to receive assistance with the issue as we had purchased the DW80H9930US from Best Buy. The sales reps, Chris, tried to call Samsung and get help with the issue as they had a list of authorized Samsung service repair in SWFL. Samsung also told Best Buy that they did not have authorized Samsung repair service in SWFL. Best Buy started giving them the list. They said that Best Buy would need to contact Samsung’s ECR service. Best Buy did state that this is always an issue with Samsung and that they have poor customer support and that there are a lot of issues with Samsung appliances.ECR was closed, so Best Buy passed my complaint to Vanessa, she called ECR the following week. Samsung’s customer service agent told Vanessa that Samsung would be giving me a full refund on my dishwasher as they know that there is a severe issue with the water wall on these dishwashers. Samsung had Vanessa fax my receipt and other documentation to a fax number. They were supposed to send fax her back with a refund letter so that I could purchase a new dishwasher from Best Buy. A couple of days went by with no word, so Vanessa called Samsung back. Samsung stated that they had no record of Vanessa ever calling and that no refund would be issued. Vanessa stated that Best Buy would not be able to help me any further. Why are Samsung and Best Buy still selling these dishwashers if they know that there are severe issues with the product and that neither one of them will stand behind the product, so the customer is left with an overpriced appliance that does not work. Both companies have failed in providing customer service and support. Neither one stands behind the warranty. Hoping that all appliance companies will read this and stop selling Samsung appliances! Customers stop buying from Samsung and Best Buy!
We have a Samsung RS263 with French doors. We keep hearing a sound like a fan clipping something. Called Samsung toll free number and got told basically to call a authorized service center and get a technician out. We live in rural Saskatchewan 30 minutes outside of Regina. When we asked who was the authorized rep for our area Samsung couldnt tell us. I finally suggested to my wife to unplug the fridge for a while because to me it sounded like the fan was hitting on some frost or ice buildup. After a couple of hours we plugged the fridge back in and the problem was gone for a day or two, then reoccurs. We had a few fridges in our lives and this is the first and last time we will ever buy any Samsung product.
I purchased a Samsung Oven (Model # NE595ROABSR-AA) on 1/18/2013 for $906.00. On 2/16/14 the convection fan motor and sensor went bad. I was told it was out of warranty by less than 30 days and I would have to pay out of pocket. I paid $168.00 to replace it. On 2/6/2015 the convection motor went out again. I had to pay for a service call to replace it. Now on 8/24/2015, the service light is coming on again. I am being told by the technician that the motherboard is out and will cost $200.00 to repair. I have been on the phone with Samsung for 43 minutes so far and am being told that it is my problem. We had a Kenmore oven for 27 years without one service call and it still works great. We simply bought the new one for aesthetics and I wish I would have never bought a Samsung. THEY ARE JUNK!!!
Our Samsung Flex is two years old. The refrigerator stopped working three weeks ago. The first repair person stated we needed a certified Samsung repair person. We called Samsung and we were informed that no one in our area was certified. We had another repair person to look at our refrigerator and he stated if he fixed it the warranty would be null and void. After numerous call to Samsung we have a $3000 refrigerator that does not work and a company that does not stand behind its product.
We purchased this refrigerator (RF23HCEDBSR/AA) Oct 2014 and the last several months ice maker was making loud noise. We took it apart and ice cubes stuck so we cleaned it out. A month later again, and another month came. We turned the ice maker off because too loud of noise. Called service center, said they have 2 places to call. One in PA and the other also same distance in MD. We live in MD. Even though we turned ice maker off noise continued. We called someone local and came out next day. Said the seal and ice maker were the problem & ice getting stuck. After $98 for service call it started all over again. Called our local company again. They said Samsung has a 3 week back order for the parts. Hmmm the next visit to fix with labor & parts $325. I just dealt with Samsung with their washing machine recall 3 or 4 months ago. Now this.
We purchased Stainless steel kitchen appliances in 2016 and have nothing but issues. Bought an extended warranty and even they refuse to repair anymore. Refrigerator - stop making ice, didnt cool properly, buildup of ice under deli tray, door handle came off of freezer drawer. Microwave - not warm properly, some of features not working. Dishwasher - will not drain water proper or wash dishes efficiently (dirty after an entire cycle, motor keeps running). I have contacted them. They only guarantee a year like most. Thats why we got the extended warranty. Never experience such repairs. Its only been 3 yrs. Something is wrong with this picture. I have spoken to them and they have washed their hands. Even the warranty service man told me that they were bad manufacturers and that they get calls all the time back to back for same issues. Please YouTube the models before purchasing. We are out of $4000 basically. I filed a complaint with BBB. They need to stick with cellphones.
The refrigerator was purchased 8 years ago. It was replacing a 30 year old General Electric that still worked but was not “energy” efficient. Shortly after the warrant (1 year) ended, the vegetable and fruit bins froze up. The temperature kept warming and all the food in the freezer and refrigerator had to be thrown away. The worth was about $200. I called for repairs and was told I had to use specific Samsung warranty repairman. The repairs were not covered but some of the parts were. Since then, I have had to have it repaired at least 5 times and have lost 100s of dollars in food. I finally purchased a small GE for the garage to move the food when the fridge shows signs of failing. I have written, emailed and called Samsung several times and have not received any satisfaction! I will never buy a Samsung appliance again. They need to stick to TVs.
We bought a three piece kitchen set a year ago. First of all, all three items have issues. This dishwasher is the worst. Error message after error message. Constantly. Now it doesn’t work at all. The water wall is off track. No repairman in our area will touch it. They say parts are ridiculously hard to find and expensive. Our oven is sitting in the dining room, broken as well, unable to use. If I could leave zero stars I would.
I bought a refrigerator 5 years ago. After 2 years the ice maker stopped working. 3 weeks ago my freezer stopped working. Now just yesterday my refrigerator stopped working. Samsung wants to send out one of their high technicians for something thats a manufacturer issue. I shouldnt have to pay for that. The fridge cost me thousands of dollars. My mom has a fridge in her garage from the 80s that works like a charm. These products are thrown together and they are more worried about the looks. My refrigerator is all looks and no brain.
My Samsung side-by-side refrigerator was struck by lightning about one and half years ago. It was only about 5 or 6 years old and was informed by the company that they no longer sold the part I needed to repair my refrigerator. I thought this was ridiculous. I talked to the company and they could only tell me that they no longer sold that part.
Bought this in November 2019. Everything was great for the first year. Picture is as described. Sound wasn’t great so I bought a $99 BOMAKER 37 Inch 2.0 sound bar on Amazon Prime Day 30% off and WOW what a difference that made! Then December 2020 came and picture started flickering till finally wouldn’t turn on. I called Geek Squad and they told me my 1yr warranty was up and I hadn’t bought the extended 2yr warranty from them for $299. If you buy it remember to bite the bullet and get the extended warranty. I know it’s a lot of money but you’ll be kicking yourself later if you don’t. Still functions as wall art at least
How can we all have the same terrible experience and nothings done about it. Who do we have to complain to, to stop this? Besides not buying another Samsung product, how do we hurt their pockets. This is a rip off, this product isnt even a dishwasher, this is false advertisement.
Purchased a Samsung refrigerator back in June. After 2 failed deliveries with damaged doors, Finally had 3rd fridge delivered on Sept 30th without problems. Called the Samsung company on many occasions regarding the problem. The Samsung company offered me a $150.00 gift card for our troubles. Today called to follow up on the gift card NOTHING!!! They will not honor their promise of the gift card for our troubles. Worse customer service I have ever experienced. The ABSOLUTE WORSE!!! Buyer Beware after purchase they forget about you and anything to do with their product.
I called twice in 6 months on the same problem. The first time was in addition to setting up a contact for an authorized repair person to come out. I was told that the problem was that the drain line was frozen and they suggested that I let the refrigerator and freezer completely thaw and this should take care of the problem. I did this for 4 hours with both doors open. I may have solved the issue for 4-5 days, but it returned. On my second call, I went through the same information again. This time I went through with having the authorized repair person. I took the day off to accommodate their window of availability. When the repair person arrived, he already knew what the issue was. He did remove one crisper tray and acknowledged that he could see where the water was coming from. He then told me that there is an upgrade that is out that will fix the problem. When asked, he told me that it would not be covered by warranty because it was an upgrade and not a fix. He was here for 10 minutes, which included his paperwork being done. They charged me $76.00 and then proceeded to tell me that the parts and labor would be $116.00; however, the parts are on back-order and so the repairs would not be done until October and this is September 11th. This, coupled with the thawing suggestion, tells me that is not a small issue. So I called Samsung and after 10 minutes on hold as the problem was being reviewed, I was transferred to the executive customer relations department only to be told that my refrigerator was past its one-year warranty and there was nothing they would do to satisfy my issue. Is it unreasonable for a product that costs $1300.00 to last longer than 3 years? So much for executive customer service”! They have my money and they didnt seem to think that they need anything else from me. What they fail to remember or maybe care about is that I (a consumer) will want to buy an appliance again and I have friends that will need to do the same!
