WOW - 25 bad reviews in just the past two weeks!! My story is ditto, ditto and ditto. My 2 and 1/2 year old RF261B fridge floods in and under the crisper with such regularity that I now schedule it to be swabbed out on the first of every month! In addition the handle fell off after only a year (and its only myself and my husband in the household so its not like its being abused). Fortunately, he is handy and was able to repair it.The latest problem is that the water dispenser - a feature I love - is now starting to stick intermittently and sometimes cannot be depressed by pushing the glass against the dispenser button, but rather I have to use my finger to depress it in order for it to work. We have always taken good care of our belongings. Our old General Electric fridge was still working great after 24 years when we decided to get a more energy efficient, modern-looking unit. What a mistake that has been! And we paid $1,750 for this constant hassle!Weve put up with this until today, when my husband blew his stack after our monthly dewatering. I contact Samsung Customer Service and she said they had no record of any problems with this model! I copied and pasted several reviews from this site and sent them to her. Since its now out of warranty, she said I could purchase a Samsung Protection Plus Rescue Repair program, which is a service option for consumers who are in need of repair on their product. It is a combination repair/extended warranty program. The program includes the both the cost of the needed repair, (all parts AND labor) plus a one year extended service plan. But of course, she couldnt tell me the cost! I have to call another number on Monday to get that bad news! The thing that irked me most is when she said she had the option to report this back to their engineers! What?! Theyre not REQUIRED to report consumer complaints of this nature to R & D!! I also told her that they needed to do a Google search of Problems with Samsung Refrigerators and see how many other people are reporting the same issues. Georgia of Albuquerque - Im with you! I think we should band together and file a class-action lawsuit. What do you other irate consumers think of this idea? Perhaps someone with more legal expertise would offer their opinion as to what they think the chances are of us winning something like this.
We have had nothing but problems with our Samsung refrigerator model RF24J996054. We have to defrost the ice maker at least every other week. The ice is soft, and gets stuck when dispensing. Further, the bin to store ice, does not hold enough ice to make it worthwhile. We are thankful that we have our old Jenn-Air in the garage. It is a workhorse. It is sad after spending sooo much money on a new refrigerator, we are traveling back and forth to the garage to get ice. We are in the middle of yet another repair, and have been waiting over two months for the part. I called today, again, and am being told that the part is not available. Really? So now what do we do? Samsung makes a poorly executed product, then doesnt have the parts to fix it? I will never buy another Samsung product again, and would not recommend Samsung to anyone. They dont even deserve the one star.
Mine continually froze and had to be thawed and the repair cost was over $500 with only a 30 day warranty. The picture with water is the amount I regularly removed under the deli tray. The temp pictures show the temp the fridge said and the actual temp. Lots of ruined food. I suggest you google class action lawsuits and check the FB page on Samsung refrigerators. They do not stand behind their products. I will never purchase another Samsung of any kind.
We purchased the Samsung dishwasher in 2010, within 6 months the clear glass items were coming out etched, dishes were not getting clean, so we used vinegar to help - it worked for awhile. Have had to use the heavy cycle to get dished cleaned the entire time we have owned the machine. Last week it started leaking in at the bottom of the door, but now looking at our hardwood floor it appears to have been happening for awhile without us noticing.About 2 months ago I noticed the digital #s were losing characters, so some of the time was not showing or the numbers were cut off, so when you thought it was a 7, it was showing as a 1. Now today it has a code error 11 flashing and we cannot figure out why. Havent called a repair person as yet, might be worth just replacing than fixing.
I bought both a Samsung refrigerator and dishwasher in stainless steel at local Big Box store. Both have proven to be the worst quality appliance I have ever owned. The 4 door refrigerator was quite expensive and has a great look, but it continually drips water from the ice-maker opening. It also smudges with prints and are almost possible to remove the mottling. The dishwasher also looks good but does not dry the dishes. I am very disappointed with this several thousand dollar purchase. Buyer beware on both!
The ice maker is a standard size and tends to produce ice adequately. HOWEVER, BE WARNED that Samsung ice makers are very poor quality. They tend to dispense crushed ice even when you dont want it. They definitely dispense broken bits of cubes constantly. I have contacted Samsung about this issue and their attitude is well, thats just the way it is, too bad. Its a shame that a $3,000 refrigerator comes with such an inferior ice maker and even a bigger shame that Samsung thinks its okay to sell you a fridge that spits ice in your floor every time you use it. Their customer service department said that if they send a technician out to look at it they will bill me because they dont consider this a defect. Huh?? Be informed before you buy a Samsung product.
Purchased a French door, lower freezer Samsung fridge from Lowes in 2009. I have a 25 year old Jenaire fridge in the garage that I have never spent a dime on for repairs. I had had multiple problems with the Samsung fridge, including having to replace the ice maker, some other parts that caused the fridge to stop cooling (about $400.00). The ice maker has always leaked water the first time it is used, causing stains down the front of the door & pooling on top of the freezer door. Now my newest problem is that the door that has the ice maker is rusting through, particularly around the ice maker but also at the bottom. My fear is that the insulation in the door is covered In mold.
Very disappointed with this model (Samsung OTR Microwave model SMH2117S). Turn table stopped working within year of purchase. This year 2017. Not 3 years past Manufactured date of March 2014. The darn thing would not work. Sometimes if we slammed the door we could get it to turn on. Did online searches and found that we should check the door latch and the door switches. Test reviewed they were good. The wiring in the left hand top of the door - seemed to be faulty. The light in the microwave and the lights on the display would go off before you even closed the door. Opened the door and jiggled the wires. It is now working. It is scary the reviews that I have read about fires for Samsung microwaves. Not recommending Samsung microwaves.
When I tried to register the product at the Samsung site, it kept kicking me out to correct non-existent errors, giving me the suspicion they didnt want to accept my information or to honor the warranty. I got them on the phone and they cheerfully set-up an appt. with the only Samsung service available in a 75 mile radius, and I live just outside Chicago! Not sure what had happened to my brand new dishwasher, I decided to call the service outlet 12 miles from my home to inquire about the possibility of it being due to bad electric service. They informed me that the visit alone would be $138! I since realized it was Samsungs fault because I have 4 other electronic appliances that have been around for 5 years, trouble-free.But I also decided to Google trouble with this dishwasher and immediately found a website called: Consumer Complaints & Reviews. Apparently, I wasnt the only one who discovered too late, that the most important part of selling me a Samsung dishwasher is getting me to purchase it... Of the top 125 complaints, there are about 20-30 Best Buy customers. The typical breakdown concerns the Chinese electronic control panel which is what my problem is, according to the trouble code. The dishwasher will recover after about 4-8 hours, begins a new wash cycle and then a few minutes later, stops and blinks the LEDs.Ive had it for 6 months and used it 10 times. I have the original box of Powerball tablets recommended by Samsung. I live alone and usually wash a lot by hand instead of wasting energy, soap, etc. Im presently at home with a back injury and no dishwasher! I can only stand for about 2 to 4 minutes and Im still paying for the broken Samsung. So far, the cost is $50.00 per wash load!I called Best Buy for help. I wanted to trade this for a new dishwasher of a different brand and they offered to take the unit away for me, while there, delivering my new purchase! I got angry and said, I couldnt find out it was defective before your time limit. I dont have that many dishes. They asked me if Id bought the extended service plan and I got more angry. I said: Once you get it out the door, it’s next customer? What happened to standing by your product? Youre in this business, obviously, you know this is junk, why is it on your floor to sell to me?According to these bad reviews at Consumer Complaints & Reviews, Samsung had denied, blamed and dragged their feet at the customers expense for months at a time in many cases. So my worst fears about trying to clean my dishes with my injury are coming true! WHY Samsung? WHY Best Buy? I hope you have the decency to allow this review to be posted here, for the sake of your remaining customers, because Ive taken myself off your mailing list and cutting up your so-called: Elite membership! Just in case you censor this review, Ill be posting it all over the internet, everywhere I can, until my undeserved punishment is repealed by you or Samsung.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (Model # RF4287HARS, French Door, with the Flex Zone drawer) early Sept 2013. This refrigerator costs me over $2000. After about 2 months, the refrigerator section wouldnt get cold anymore. The digital display read 34 degrees, but I knew it wasnt. After reading up on trouble shooting tips, I unplugged the fridge, waited a few minutes, plugged it back in, then it read 58 degrees. I called for service (a 4 hour window, of course). The technician said it was faulty temperature sensors. He didnt have the parts and said he would have to call it in. It may be up to 3 to 4 weeks to get the parts. I thought this was ridiculous (and it was just the beginning). I called Samsung headquarters, asked them if they would kindly replace my refrigerator with a new one, since its only about 2 months old. They said its NOT THEIR POLICY. They said if its fixable, they will get a service technician to fix it. I FLIPPED!!! I told them, I do not have the luxury to wait 3 to 4 weeks for parts to come in...... I DONT HAVE A PROPERLY WORKING REFRIGERATOR!!! Their answer..... its NOT OUR POLICY. So I ask that they transfer me to upper management. I spoke to their Executive Customer Service Relations, told them my situation and my request. Their response was, ITS NOT OUR POLICY. These are the most useless customer service department heads Ive dealt with. So I bit the bullet, waited about 2 weeks, parts came in, called for service technician again. They replaced the temperature sensors. Im thinking, Whew, Im glad thats over with. About 2 weeks later, I notice the fridge is not getting cold again. Temperature is reading 48 to 52 degrees. Called for service again, they are going to replace ice maker and heating element. I asked the service repair man, What is the root of this problem? He says he doesnt know, just that the fault indicator is telling him to replace these parts. This is where Im at right now, dont even know if this second service will solve the problem. Im infuriated at Samsung. How dare they put out a product on the market without conducting extensive tests. Do they realize what a burden they are putting on their customers? Im never buying Samsung again, EVER!!! If you work for Samsung (refrigerator designer or customer service), shame on you for all the trouble you put me through. Shame on your POLICY. If you make a faulty product and you know about it, OWN UP TO IT! The customer is always right! MAKE IT RIGHT FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS! Or pretty soon, you will have no more customers.
I purchased a microwave last year and all of a sudden it started turning on by itself. I located on Samsung website was a sensor seems straightforward and obvious, same exact issues happening. They send a tech out who looked and bent my hinges as an attempt to “fix” a brand new microwave. As soon as tech leaves I open the microwave and close it, it turns back on so it wasn’t fixed within 5 minutes of tech leavening. I call Samsung. They schedule me again for another tech. I took off work again now 2 days. They never show up. I call Samsung and they told me they never came because the first tech said there wasn’t an issue with the microwave. Which is mind blowing considering he bent my microwave and damaged it to fix a problem that didn’t exist? And they couldn’t of told me that before I took off another day of work. So end result was hours wasted 2 days off work. No fix and they proceeded to tell me the customer that my microwave functions properly even tho it turns on by itself and turns off without any input. I have never dealt with such a terrible company who said they can’t do anything for me because at this point it’s their tech company and Samsung isn’t responsible so I’m out 2 days a work and a over the range brand new microwave now needing to be replaced. Never buy Samsung. Total scam company. I will never purchase a single thing from them ever again. They couldn’t even accept that it’s their microwave. They blamed the fact the tech company lied and said they fixed or never had to fix my microwave and said, We’ll sorry. Can’t help you. Complete disgrace.
My previous fridge was also a Samsung and it worked without any issues for the past 12 years. It is like plug and forget appliance and it came with all the features as described in the website. It is energy efficient and sleek in design.
One of the worst appliances I ever bought. Samsung over the range w/ hood model SMH1816S. First microwave in 30 years I ever had to have repaired. And customer support on an issue with it was horrendous, and then non-existent. I recommend anyone considering this unit to finish off their kitchen matched set of other Samsung products forgo aesthetics and get something else. First, as others have stated on other review sites, the control panel is awful. It is hard to read and the buttons are set in such a way (presumable to keep someone from pushing a button unintended with cleaning the panel) that you have to press very hard in exactly the right spot. No feel and go with this unit. The food, in spite of the revolving turntable, does not heat evenly. The stainless steel, for some odd reason, is difficult to clean (exterior). We have had other stainless steel appliances from other companies that cleaned easily. Then, a short time after warranty expired, the unit failed to work. It turns out some of the factory work was not done well on the circuit board and a loose connection caused a short and burned out the primary microwave making unit. The dealer told us it was out of warranty, (barely) so we had it repaired, then one of their repair people said it was a defect, not a warranty issue and I should contact Samsung. Samsung used every excuse in the book, and finally said something along the lines of policy does not allow us to ever pay out of pocket expense, regardless of the cause or situation. End of story, end of Samsung. Later, a salesperson told me they have had numerous complaints about the unit. Samsung TVs are great. We thought the refrig, range, dishwasher, microwave would be good, too. Not happy with the other units, but at least they work. But I will never own another Samsung appliances!
I would like to share my familys experience in buying Samsung appliances. Let me start by saying that we spent over 9000 dollars on brand new appliances just over a year ago. My wife loved the look of the Samsung black stainless steel so we bought an entire house full of appliances. Refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer. Every single one of them has failed in that year, some on multiple occasions. Our microwave which most appliance repair guys will tell you are pretty universally reliable broke within the first month. The gas range needed repaired on three separate occasions, the dishwasher has been repaired twice and works intermittently now, the dryer squeals like a pig going to slaughter and the refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation this past May. We have now been without a refrigerator for just shy of two months. It took Samsung over a month to send out a technician to look at it and another two weeks to get parts. After the “repair” the technician informed us that the unit was not repairable and a replacement was needed. Bear in mind we bought the appliances in May of 2017, the refrigerator failed in May of 2018 and now in July after telling us it is not repairable and they are sending a replacement unit. I get an email apologizing for the inconvenience but that they will not replace the unit nor fix the dryer. We had never had new appliances and a year ago we were excited that now we had a houseful of beautiful new shiny appliances. Some of these appliances are nearly top of the line Samsung models and all of them have failed or no longer function. Do yourself and your family a favor and do not purchase Samsung products or at least do not purchase their appliances. I have never made such a large purchase and been as disappointed as I have with Samsung. They have been horrible in every facet from quality to service. Do not make the same mistake we did. Samsung is a horrible company.
Love the stove, it fits the bill for everything! I want to do. If I have any complaint at all it would be that when you cook in the upper oven you have to take care you do not burn the product. The water boiling feature is great! Oven heats up very fast as well as being able see what the temperature is as it is getting to the programmed temperature. The surface of the range does need to be cleaned after each use or it shows!
We are on our second refrigerator in less than three years. The first unit had problems with the ice maker so we exchanged it in less than a month. Now we have problems with it icing up in the rear around some fan. Samsung said they would fix it and pay for the parts not labor. But now they refuse to pay for the parts. The executive division said the lower representative didnt have the authority to promise to pay for anything. Never buy Samsung products. Theyre junk and the management are liars!
In 2011 we purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator based on the twin cooling system. I love the French door style but the paint peeled off one of the handles within the first 90 days. I contacted Samsung and they told me it was a maintenance issue and it was my problem. They referred me to a parts supplier and I was prepared to buy a new handle (I had no choice) but none were available. They were to contact me when they had one. Now they are discontinued and I cant find one anywhere. I spent over $1,000.00 on a refrigerator that looks TERRIBLE.
Undependable. I am beyond angry, I just lost over $200 in food because this stupid fridge just stopped working while I was away, all because the filter change indicator was on!? They have designed the fridge to indicate that the water filter needs to be changed every 6 months like clockwork, the indicator light does not actually tell you if its dirty it just happens at 6 months. So when this indicator light is on, the fridge and freezer wont work. So mark your calendars and try to track when its going to happen or youll lose all your food too.
Samsung RS267TDPN - Do your research before considering this model! I have owned mine barely 3 yrs and have had major problems with the freezer side two times. In both cases, the freezer side seized to cool properly. In this last round, the temperature was 25-40 degrees (f) and would not get any cooler which meant the ice maker also stopped working. The first problem was repaired while under warranty. For my current problem, I am now having to pay out of pocket to replace the evap temp sensor and the Heater sheath assembly due to burnt wires. These are part of the EVAP assembly and are located in the lower freezer section and behind a plastic panel thus I assume it to be a defect with the unit and not something that could have been caused by user neglect. I also owned a Samsung over-the-range microwave oven which failed prematurely therefore I now question the quality of Samsung kitchen appliances.
I purchased a set of 4 Samsung kitchen appliance in August. Shortly we found out that the food in the refrigerator freezes and the freezer’s ice maker stopped dispensing ice. Since it was 2 weeks since we bought it, I went to the Home Depot where we bought them to exchange it, but they stated that they will only return or exchange on the first three days and that we have to contact Samsung to repair it which it didn’t make me happy to hear that knowing that they don’t stand behind the products they sell. The manager said if Samsung attempts to fix it three times and the issue still not fixed then they will change it. So, I called Samsung and they started a ticket. Since then, it has been 2 months and several trips by the Samsung’s repairman, they were able to fix the ice maker, but the fridge still freezes the food and now when opening and closing the door the whole fridge makes a loud squeaking sound. On the last trip, the repairman contacted Samsung and stated that they have changed all parts they could, and the issue is still there. Samsung viewed the temperature difference and frozen food through a video conference with the repairman. They stated that it is the way that fridge is designed and do not put food in the back of refrigerator. I could not believe what I heard, and the repairman stated that he has done what he could. He wrote the report and left. In disbelief, I called Samsung customer service. The person helping me could not even access the ticket number to see the history and kept on trying to schedule a repair. When I asked to speak to a manager, somehow, she found a way to view the repair history and stated that she is noting the issue and a manager from the refund and exchange will contact me on Monday. So far no one has contacted me. We have been a Samsung family so far from our phones to TV, appliance etc. but starting to look into other manufacturers as the product quality and service is not there anymore. I hope they resolve this issue soon as possible as I cannot use my brand-new refrigerator. I try not to put food in it, because I have to through them away after a day.
SMH8165 - I have tried a few different things suggested for this microwave. What finally seems to have stopped it is I took the keypad off and disconnected the thin wires from the circuit board. They are towards the top of the board in the middle. They seem to go to the sensor that was malfunctioning. We do not use the sensor cook modes so that resolved the SE error for us. Wont buy another Samsung OTR Microwave. They have twice the repair rate of other models according to a popular consumer reporting site.
My Samsung French Door Refrigerator, model # RF32FMQDBSR/AA quit cooling after 12.5 months of use. It took two months and two visits from the technician to determine that the problem was with the sealed refrigeration system. The first trip the technician replace a circuit board and left immediately. This did not fix the problem. Communication with the Samsung provided service technician was very poor. At first the technician has excuses for not coming back then he just did not respond to calls. I called Samsung and requested another service company. They referred me back to the same guy. After each call I was would be called within 24 to 48 hours. Never happened. He did eventually come back (it has now been two months) and changed the temperature sensor. This did not fix the problem. He said the problem was in the sealed refrigeration system and could not be repaired. So I Called Samsung to ask how this would be handled. The sealed refrigeration system has a five year warranty. First, I was told that they would exchange the unit and would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. Nothing! So I called back and they said they wanted a second opinion from a second technician and would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. Again no response. So I called again and They had referred me back to the same company as before. When I told them that this is the same company as before they said they would look for another company and would be contacted within 24 to 48 hours. Again I had to call them to get a status. They said that they did not have a second company in the area to get the second opinion; therefore, they could not exchange the unit, and that I would be getting a refund instead. Every time I call it just gets worse. They say I will only get a partial refund. So I asked if the unit has a five year warranty on the sealed system how come I cannot get an exchange or get it repaired. Samsung customer executive care said the warranty is not valid because there is no service available in my area to fix the sealed system. You think they would replace it. Nope! It has now been over three months and I am waiting on the emails with the instructions on how I am to proceed.
I had purchased 556 lit fridge in 2014. First the new fridge was not working. With the help of the retailer I could get it replaced. Now my problem is the fridge part doesn’t cool. The engineers came and changed many parts but the result it will work for 5 to ten days and fail. Me being a techie could find the problem that the defrosting doesnt take place. Now they are telling me that they are ready to give me 54% of the invoice and they will take back my fridge. But when paid 60000/- and works for 2.5 years why should buy from Samsung. Now the quality much worse than the cheapest brand in the market. I had the same problem with washing machine and LED TV. Please dont buy Samsung if you want peace of mind.
Samsung Refrigerator RF32FMQDBSR problems - After a year I noticed the ice maker bin getting harder and harder to remove and finally it froze up so solid it took 4 hours to thaw and remove the ice bin. It did this again within a month. After some researching I find this is a problem others are having also. Since that second thaw I have been removing ice build up under the ice bin weekly to keep it from freezing up again but its getting worse. It does this whether the ice maker is on or off. After watching this appliance for the last couple of months, I have concluded the drain line for the ice maker defrost has frozen up stopping the drain path of the ice maker defrost melt, which now overflows to under the ice bin and refreezes. This is an obvious bad design with no clear fix in sight. If I were to clear this drain line (dont know how) it will do it again in a year from buildup of ice. The other issue is that ice maker cannot dispense cubed ice, again poor design.
Keeps freezing up; not cooling enough in freezer to freeze water. Had repairman come out & was told to unplug it for 2 days so the line can defrost. In the meantime, I lost all my food. Do not buy this product. This is the second time this happened. Refrigerator is unreliable & defective.
Samsung refrigerator, water in the floor after you dispense ice. Ice maker freezes up. We cant get the ice container out. Repairman has been called. Almost $3000 dollars for this headache.
I bought my refrigerator on 12/26/2010. It was noisy in the beginning. My experience with this product has not been a good one. I was looking forward to a good experience with your line. I have never bought a side by side or a Samsung product before. This isnt even a year old. I am not happy at all. It is the model RS261MD 25.6CF. I thought this was a good brand, not from my experience. I wouldnt recommend it.
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot. I will never buy Samsung again nor an appliance from Home Depot. Approximately 6 months ago I noticed bubbling of the finish on the front with peeling. This includes the left door where the ice maker is located, the drawer and the freezer drawer. The surfaces are raised from the inside out which to me indicates rust. As I began my process to complain I began with Home Depot who informed me my extended warranty didnt cover cosmetic problems. From there directly to Samsung who has consistently refused to stand behind their product. Almost telling me it is my fault. Well what about quality of the product and consumer satisfaction? In the business we own, quality is our most important aspect. Without good quality and willingness to stand behind your products you are nothing. No more Samsung for this family. I found Samsung to be unprofessional in the way this was handled and have complained to the Office of the President without results. Stay away from Samsung.
Hoping you can give me suggestion to file a significant complaint to Samsung regarding my side by side refrigerator (RS554NRUASL). We bought this two years ago for our second home from which we only used during Christmas and summer or about a total of less than five months. Due to the pandemic, we again use it since August but the unit was already DEFECTIVE. We filed a complaint thru the Samsung website but they only accept queries for their digital units. There was even an option in their website to complain to the Samsung CEO, from which I did, but to no avail. We are also in touch with the local service rep of Samsung since the the first week of September, paid a big amount for parts and service but the unit is still DEFECTIVE! Please help.
I purchased a Samsung FlexZone a year ago. Over the past few months it has been shutting down. First the freezer got warm then the bottom fridge got warm and now the whole thing is at sixty degrees and we are throwing out food. I have had a tech out and have a diagnosis. Every time I call Samsung to have them set up a tech to come out and fix it I get, We will call you in one to three days. And thats as far as it goes... Now Im without a fridge. You need to stand behind your product.
Crazy!!! I have a gas range and the finish is peeling off! With a soft towel and soap. Really!! Soap and water! Crap. Never, ever another **. Very disappointed and all on deaf ears. Bought from a retailer that’s now Amazon’s out of business.
I bought a Samsung refrigerator from Lowes in 2010. In late 2012 I noticed a little rust at the bottom of the water/ice dispenser. I thought at first It was externally caused. When it became obvious that it the pan itself was rusting, I called Samsung Customer Service and explained the situation. After explaining the situation, the CSR left the line for a few minutes. When she returned she suggested I buy Bartenders Friend to clean up the mess. When I asked how I could prevent the rust from returning, she seemed confused, said she had solved my problem and hung up.I emailed Samsung CS with the complaint stating that a 30-month enamel job shouldnt fail and how could I prevent the rust from occurring again. I received a reply that read like the authors masters thesis that thoroughly explained the chemical action that occurs between water and iron. I went to Lowes in Palmdale, CA with my problem. The salesman was no help; the department manager told me that Samsung didnt make that model anymore and maybe that was why. And that he couldnt help me. Ask me if Ill buy anything from Samsung again. Or if I shop at Lowes.
This is 2nd time that we are having problems with the LED temperature controls. Our refrigerator is 2 1/2 years old and have also had a fan/motor problem. Repairs are VERY expensive for the upgraded modern refridgerators. Food is expensive and 3 times we have had to throw away food.
We paid $2700 for a Samsung refrigerator with an extended five year warranty. A few months after the warranty ran out, the compressor died. For $95, Samsung’s repairman recommended buying a new refrigerator rather than paying over $1000 for the repair. Samsung Support recommended finding an unauthorized repairman that might do the repair at a lower price. Meanwhile, we are using our 29 year old Hotpoint refrigerator that we have in our garage.
Sometimes I notice that my dishes are not totally clean. Its almost as if the washer skips cleaning some of them. I have to wash some of them over again.
I have a French Door refrigerator. The Freezer temperature will not set at the temperature that I set it at. It is way too cold or too warm. After 4 service calls, the repairman says that there is nothing I can do. It is a faulty design. New parts have been replaced that did not help. I have spent many hours on the phone trying to get this situation resolved, and I only get that same thing, Well send a repairman out, but the repairman cannot fix the problem. Ive asked repeatedly for a new refrigerator to replace this one, which is still under warranty. Ive sent numerous emails to Samsung, as high up the corporate ladder as is possible online. Someone tell me what I can do next. Go to the Federal Trade Commission? Thanks.
Purchased four new stainless steel appliances together in 2013 one being the Samsung french door refrigerator. I was warned about this from a few of my friends as they made that mistake and had extensive problems with ice maker and water dispenser. Despite their warnings, I bought one anyway believing theirs were non-typical occurrences and ours would be fine based on how much they cost. In less than a year, the ice maker failed and refused to work at all - had worked intermittently prior to then, but I chipped ice off the auger thinking that was just a fluke. Unfortunately, I did not feel like spending an additional $350 for more coverage on a brand new item and trusted it would last longer, so we go without ice.Next, loud noise coming from a fan which worsened over less than two weeks, then stopped altogether. Now fridge at 45 deg and warm items, primarily noticeable with the milk. Secondly, under normal use, the door flapper between the doors failed and has to be held with a hand to shut! Finally bit the bullet and called Sears where we purchased it and scheduled service. After trying to sell us a monthly service agreement for all appliances promising 50% off if we signed, I opted for just the repair which was an apparent plugged auto defrost drain hose which caused ice to build up around fan and fails to permit cooling. $500 + dollars later they have parts on order with a repair date of 12/10. All this for a NEW fridge. Samsung sucks and I regret selling the old reliable simple fridge that came with the house and was already 10+ years old at least!! I will definitely deter anyone from buying Samsung refrigerators when I can - garbage and I truly believe are built to fail which guarantees more money for their parts (job security) and their retailer for service costs - in this case Sears. BUYER BEWARE - DO NOT PURCHASE SAMSUNG!!!
Absolutely the biggest piece of junk Ive ever owned and I made the mistake of buying a refrigerator from them twice. First refrigerator had issues with the ice maker the first year. Got that resolved.... maybe? We moved out of that house so who knows what the new owners had to deal with after we left. Bought another Samsung for the new house. Biggest mistake ever. Again, ice maker down in the first year. Had their awful Service Quick service out twice to get that fixed. Then the entire refrigerator dies a year later. Condenser just gives out. Its still under warranty so they try to fix it and fail miserably. Tech burns a whole in my floor while using a blow torch. That nonsense of trying to fix it went on for two weeks. Now they are supposed to fix the floor and bring out a new refrigerator. We are six weeks into this mess and still no refrigerator. Ive been lied to repeatedly about the process and how long it will take. Theyve put information in wrong, further delaying the process. Its completely ridiculous and they never do anything to expedite the service and make it right. Pandemic has been used an excuse multiple times which is total BS since they are essential and never closed and neither has the trucking company. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE.
Day 1 after purchasing I realized it doesnt wash well, it doesnt dry well, only 1/2 the items come out clean. I will NEVER buy another Samsung item. I should have looked for reviews 1st. Lesson learned. There are hundreds of bad reviews on these dishwashers. And, I am sure they are correct. These DWs SUCK!
My refrigerator is awesome except of the fact that the ice maker is one of the worst in history of Samsung products. It froze over in just over a year of owning it and now is out of warranty and too expensive to replace.
Bought a Samsung french door fridge a year and a half ago. It had a musty smell in it from the start that we were consistently trying to eliminate. The ice maker is terrible, always jamming, leaking and poor output of ice. After about a year of owning the fridge, part of the cooling system in the fridge section froze over and now the fridge portion does not cool enough to store food in it. The warranty has expired so we are on the hook for repairs for this product which cost $2,000. I have read many reviews of others having this same issue with a Samsung fridge. I would definitely not recommend a Samsung refrigerator. I wish I had done more research on reviews before purchasing.
Just reviewing to save people heartache and time. Do not buy Samsung refrigerators. Amazing that they get away with manufacturing junk, basically. And they charge a lot for it. We’ve had our Samsung model RF28HMEDBSR/AA for 4 years. The ice makers freezes up constantly. The fans freeze. I’m forever using a hairdryer to fix the problem. Insane. The fans get full of ice and make a loud disruptive noise. Get the hairdryer again! Will probably cut out losses and buy a new refrigerator. This Samsung isn’t worth the headaches. Do not buy Samsung. My sister bought a similar model and has similar problems.
I purchased a French door Samsung refrigerator model # RF28HMEDDBSR/AA a little over 4 years ago. We started to have issues with the ice maker and cooling fan motor about 13 months after we got it. We contacted Samsung and were told that since it was out of warranty...its a 12 month warranty!! That we would be responsible for any repairs. We have now had the same thing fixed 3 times (in 4 years!!!) and it just stopped working again. This time the freezer and climate control drawer also quit working. They are both sitting at around 57-59 degrees Fahrenheit. We have had to throw away thousands of $ worth of food and when I try to contact Samsung, they are saying that there is nothing they can or will do. We have a Facebook group of over 19,000 (yes, that is NOT a typo) of other really unhappy Samsung Refrigerator owners. Seems like all models and all designs! Samsung has been aware that there was a defect in these and refuses to take responsibility. DO NOT BUY ONE, you will love it for about 6-12 months and then hate it for the rest of your life!!!
As many of us do I bought my Samsung four door refrigerator on sale at Lowes. I paid $1,800 for a nearly $3,500 unit. I thought I was getting an awesome deal. Then the ice maker started acting up and I had to have it repaired about every 3 months until they deemed the unit defective but the repairman had told me several occasions that he come that he had prepared multitude of the exact same problem the ice maker in that exact same unit. So I tell Samsung that I really dont want to get the same unit and they you know I had been originally told that repair place it was something better. Better means more valuable and or a newer model or the exact same thing one. Now Im being told that I have to take the $1,800 that I paid for it which I cant replace it for because its not on sale right now and pretty much eat it even though I just bought two other matching Samsung appliances. I am pretty furious and I hope that this gets resolved.
Samsung Refrigerator Wont Defrost RSG257AARS - Bought Samsung 12/12 at Best Buy on payment plan. From the beginning I dealt with Best Buy, trying to get help. The back of the freezer and all the way down, the ice maker has ice on it. The ice maker does not produce much ice. It makes a lot of noise.
The majority of my appliances are Samsung. I have had nothing but repair bills for all of them. The latest is the dishwasher (DW80F600UTC). I will slowly replace all appliances. They are not very reliable.
I love my Samsung counter depth fridge. I have the one that has the option of using 25% as a fridge or freezer. Awesome! I love the option of giving it a cold blast surge when I put warm food away after a meal, also.
Samsung dishwasher is broken down again. DMR78AHS 3 years old. Immediately the plastic tabs for the upper rack adjuster broke off. This is a common problem and has happened 3 times. Warranty covered too. Once the tab jamming the pump causing error code LE. No warranty this time, $179 to fix. Next the door tension spring is attached with a nylon cord and runs over a plastic pulley. Cord broke, door came crashing down, another $179 labor and $20 parts for 2 cords. Today it will not turn on at all, no response from control pad. I guess another $179 down the drain. It washes so poorly that we only load it half full, plates in every other space and dont even think about putting dishes in without pre-rinsing. We are very disappointed in this appliance. We have spent the price of the washer in service calls. We filed a request with Samsung when the tab jammed the pump for reimbursement of the service call but were denied. We feel a class action suit is appropriate.
We have had issue with Freezer part of our Samsung french door fridge. It continues to freeze up, developing frost & ice to build up. Samsung has no customer service to speak of...
Lets start with a Samsung refrigerator, model RF260BEAEBC/AA, that had a failed ice maker in first six weeks. After working with Samsung call center to do troubleshooting, no change. Now with outsourced service company, USSI, who can be reached for updates through a toll number, not even a toll-free 800 number. Company has not vested interest in Samsung product quality, as they service other brands also. We will be without ice maker for nine days before the hoped-for Monday call from service to schedule a service visit. I can tell you, the USSI call center rep was about as cool and indifferent to my problem and the delays as you can get. In the future, will try to stay away from products where company is not fully invested in the warranty and service aspect.
I have never replaced all my kitchen appliances before..my contract had just finished his kitchen and went with Samsung..I bought a refrigerator, a dishwasher and an stove..that purchase was probably the best MONEY I have spent..I love my KITCHEN.
This oven heats quickly. It also has a warmer drawer, that has three settings. As most ovens do these days, it has self-cleaning. It also has a divider so that you do not have to heat the entire oven. It comes with three racks and a temp probe. Its got a bridge heating unit for cooking using a griddle, for example. Especially useful is the convection feature. Its easy to use, good features, clean easily, looks good.
Overall this Samsung Refrigerator isnt too bad. There could be an improvement in the shelving though. You have to maneuver your items under the shelves due to the metal bars underneath. It makes it frustrating to fit your items into the back. Also the ice machine needs some improvement as well. Sometimes it freezes up and wont make any ice cubes.
The dishwasher is fairly quiet. It has several wash options as well as a separate dry option. The racks fold down so you can put large or unusual shaped items in it. It is pretty but the stainless streaks more than I would have liked. All and all, it works good. I would recommend this dishwasher. Works better than others I have used. Fairly decent price for the quality you get.
Our fridge after 6 yrs writhing 2 days caught fire in coils & has died. We tried to get 3 different appliance companies out to look at the fridge; 1 added more Freon to it but the other 2 won’t even touch it. All because it’s a Samsung =(. It’s Model #RF4287HARS/XAA. It’s been a great fridge up till now. Don’t ask me about our washing machine & dryer though. Our dryer is possessed. It runs whenever it wants when you shut the door & our washing machine is rotting from the inside out. And they are only 6 yrs old as well. We bought them all at the same time... It’s such a shame because we used to love our Samsung products.
My problem is like everyone else!!! My RF217 is less than 2 years old when drain froze up wrecking the fan!!! Having been in the appliance business for over 30 years, I have never saw such a poorly designed system!!! After defrosting and installing a new fan, it worked for a couple of months when it started leaking into the crisper drawers telling me the drain was already frozen!!! I made a heater out of a copper wire and thought I had it fixed. But three months later, same old crap!!! Samsung knows of this problem but is not recalling the problem, even though they make a kit to fix it with!!! I suggest everyone that has or had this problem call the commerce commission and report their experience. In the meantime, you can buy the kit online such as eBay for around $125.00... Let refrigerator thaw for several hours so you dont break cover or insulation foam behind it!!!
I have owned the double French door Refrig for just over 3 years and Ice maker goes out. 2 appointments to repair and over $300 in P & L. Ice maker now dispenses crushed and cube together while on cube program, this issue never happened before Ice maker went out. Their Separate service company says it needs a new part to correct new problem and costs an additional fee! Samsung unwilling to send new part at their cost. I am considering after reading reviews and how many there are a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against Samsung and its service company! I would like to know who would be open for such a Suit?
I saved for over a year to be able to purchase what I thought was a top of the line refrigerator. When Lowes had this 4 door refrigerator on sale, I jumped at the chance to purchase. The first day the refrigerator was plugged in, the digital board on the ice maker would not work. My son finally got it to work after we unplugged the unit and plugged it back in. About a month later, the same thing happened. I called technical support and they helped me to get the unit going again. Tonight when I got home from work, the ice machine would not work. I call support again and spoke to a gentleman that could not be understood. When I figured out that he could not help, I asked to speak to someone else. I got to speak to the woman from hell. Even though I told her that my refrigerator was new and that I had taken the extended service agreement, she informed me that I would have to pay someone to repair my refrigerator because I needed to be educated on how to use it. Well, I do know that I should not have to unplug my new refrigerator 3 times in 3 months to keep the digital panel from freezing up. Lowes told me not to call the technical support number again but to call them directly because I could not count on Samsung to help me with my problem. I wish I had read the negative reviews before spending over $2000 on a unit that does not work.
In May, 2016 we purchased a Samsung Microwave Model # ME16H702SES/A... and the rest of the number is not visible due to the fire which burned off the serial number and part of the model number. I suspect the fire started due to electrical arcing between the microwave housing and the door, because I had that on another model six years ago, and the arcing started while the unit was not being used. The fire started in October 2016 and we contacted Home Depot Canada, the vendor. They took the information and said someone from Samsung would be coming to look at the damage and by the middle of November 2016 no one had come. We called Home Depot again and they told us to contact Samsung Canada for help. We did so, and on December 2, 2016 we received an email from Meyson **, asking us for a copy of the store receipt and photographs of the damaged area. On December 14 I sent the photographs, also asking him to confirm the receipt of the information. He replied the same day stating he had not received the photographs, I sent them again the same day, both times I sent them, there was no negative feedback from the email system, and this indicates the emails had gone through. On December 23 I had not received a reply from Meyson ** so I emailed him again indicating the length of time it was taking to acknowledge and repair this product, and heard nothing from him.December 27, I called the Samsung Canada Specialty Group (where Meyson ** works) and he wasnt available so we described the problem to another support person, they said in order to help us they required an order number. Obviously they didnt know the difference between an order number and a ticket number. After 30-35 minutes on the phone with a few individuals, it was useless going forward. We called Home Depot again asking for the appliance rep in the store where we purchased the unit and he was on vacation. At this point there is little use in pursuing this through the Customer Support area so we will file an incident with the Better Business Bureau and the CSA Group since we have had more success with the CSA in the past than the vendor.
This Samsung fridge has a SERIOUS design flaw and Samsung has been aware of it for a long time, per all the blogs, articles and YouTube videos about this problem! Our fridge is 3 mos old and already its doing the symptoms (loud popping/cracking/gurgling noises and water dripping within sealed walls) that our fridge will have this serious problem one day. We do not have a door water/ice dispenser and dont have the bottom ice maker activated. On many Samsung refrigerators, ice builds up on the coils (in sealed section) with the dripping making the buildup a solid, large chunk of ice that eventually BLOCKS the cold air into the fridge and also stops the fan. Samsung tells us the noises are normal but they can send a technician - since this is a design flaw and we dont want the fridge taken apart only to be told to use a hair dryer to defrost that area... We declined the service call. The seller (Lowes) refuses to take the fridge back and substitute a comparable one (cu ft etc) no-cost. The fridge looks nice, has good room and cools (for now) but I dread the day when the fan stops and hope it does not cause a FIRE as a result of the fan blades stopped but the fan motor continuing! If there is a recall or class action measure taken, my email is: **.
This is a family of two and The freezer of my Samsung has broken twice in four years and we hardly use it. The outside paints is chipping and the technician told me that is consider cosmetic so is not warranty. I will never buy samsung appliances again and definitely not from Best Buy.
We purchased this microwave (SMH1987ST) in July 2010 and never had a problem until a month ago. The microwave would just come on by itself randomly, usually in Baked Potato mode. Only opening the door would shut it off. It was terrifying because I had no confidence in leaving home or sleeping at night with it plugged in. I googled this issue and found common complaints of the same nature on many different forums, a good bit of them here. I then called Samsungs customer service line and got the run-around that it was no longer under warranty and theyd send a tech but it was on me. I then posted on their Facebook page with the issue and was told to call back and ask for the Executive Customer Service team. When I did, I got a little pushback on being put through to them but eventually was. I told the Exec team representative the issue, that they knew about it and that there were over 300 complaints on this website alone. That seemed to get their attention. They sent out a tech last week, he ordered the part and came back today and installed a new control board free of charge. He did say he frequently sees this same issue or the one where people get the dreaded SE message and the microwave panel doesnt work at all. My advice is to be firm and use social media to get their attention. They WILL make it right when pressed to do so. I never would have pursued it further had I not seen other posters say that asking for their Legal Dept. or mentioning the bad reviews got them satisfaction.
Bought Samsung range, refrigerator and microwave at the beginning of 2013. The microwave died after 2 days and the Lowes representative let us return it. He said he had seen a lot of problems, so we got a GE instead. The touch pad on the range never worked properly and have had techs out here 6 times. They can never fix it in one call. They have to diagnose, then order parts. It is now broken again and we are due to have a tech come out on September 1st. Every time they come, I have to miss 1/2 a day of work. No weekend appointments available. The handle on the refrigerator broke off and they repaired that. Now the plastic shelves are breaking. These products are very cheaply made. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
In reading recent posts, I realized that I am not alone in my dissatisfaction and anger over my relatively new Samsung refrigerator. First, upon purchase, it took over three months for delivery, despite the fact that I was told it was in stock at the time. After a year and a half, the ice maker broke. Then it started to warm up and then it sounded as if it was ready to explode. Repair service after repair service was called. Its been three months and Samsung is not delivering, not making part to repair. This has been the worst purchase I have ever made. Buyer beware, proceed with caution!
On July 2016 I purchase all my kitchen appliances from Samsung at Best Buy. Unfortunately its not a year of purchase and I had a very bad experience which I believe its not fair for any consumer. First, they advertises that the appliances are stainless steel, which is not. It is hard to clean. On the range side the flat top is also hard to clean and it scratches easily, which it shouldnt happen due to the fact that that is a every day use item with multiple use. I dont accept the fact that they are saying that it is cosmetic and also is tear and wear before a year of purchase. I live alone and barely cook for this to happen. Im very disappointed with this product and the way that they handle and washes off the responsibility of the quality of their products. This is not an item that costs $100 or less we are speaking of an item that the price is over a $1,000. Unfortunately according to them there is nothing to be done.
Products do not last. My microwave has broken down twice and washing machine and both cost more to fix than buying a new one. Have replaced washer with a Maytag and still waiting to replace the microwave.
I bought the Samsung 32 Cubic French Door 2 years ago and I have to tell you it is without a doubt the worst decision I have ever made in my life! Less than 1 year, all the plastic pieces starts falling off. Samsung said its cosmetic and warranty does not cover. The electric panel broke apart. They replace 1 time. 2 days later the same happen. They said that is also cosmetic! Now 2 years later the fan is making a noise like a boat engine and they said it is not covered - I have to pay for it. I have everthing in the house Samsung, even the names are falling apart! NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT EVER. THEY ARE WORTHLESS!!! DO NOT EVEN TAKE FOR FREE!!! Go Kenmore, or any other brand!! Did I tell you their customer service is in the Dominican Republic and is also worthless!!!
I bought the Samsung refrigerator model RB195ACPN in August of 2012. I noticed water in the right vegetable crisper around February of 2014, less than 2 years old. I wiped it out and thought it was the humidity level. Well 5 months later it was still happening and ruining my food in the crisper. Had to have a service guy come out and it was the drain clip. He said that they freeze because the original design isnt long enough. Had to have it upgraded so it doesnt happen again. Im very unhappy that the design is bad and there wasnt a recall for this.
We bought the top of the line dishwasher. We got it on sale for $900 and we installed it later as we were renovating our kitchen. We purchased the machine and installed it a few months later. And after a while we kept getting an error message, 1E. We researched and it was indicated to recycle the power as we did. And it would be good for a few months, and it would start again. This went on for a while, now warranty is over and we called and they wanted to send a repair man, which I refused. Why should we pay for a call when it is obvious this machine has an issue. We have found several complaints from consumers. Model is DW 80F800UWS/AC SN 00FG9M900619F. Do not buy this machine. It is a piece of crap. Not worth $1.00.
Product manufactured 12/2019. Purchased 6/2020... Freezer door seal is inadequate and food thaws and refreezes. Ice melts then freezes into a lump of ice. Technician says he sees this problem all the time with this Samsung model. Won’t replace the seal, won’t do anything to correct; technician says it’s a default and we are just stuck with an unacceptable refrigerator... Samsung now refuses to offer a fix. Will never purchase a Samsung product and will tell this experience over & over!!
French door bottom freezer with middle draw. Icemaker overflows, appliance repair company said there is no fix. Samsung danced around for weeks before we contacted the attorney general for a resolution. Finally Home Depot forced Samsung to buy back this paperweight. Nothing was happening until we took steps with the AG and they contacted Home Depot whom we bought this from. Home Depot was extraordinary in helping to get our refund.
Computer board warped from oven use. Winter time it shows error code continuously until surface burner warms stove. The stove beeps at all hours of night when error code starts. Now that summer is here no problem with panel working. Kobe are peeling. Not metal but plastic with metal coat. Bought all matching Samsung appliances. All have issues being less than 2 years old. Never buy Samsung or buy from Conns Appliance Co.
Dont buy Samsung Ranges. I brought the chef collection 30 last year and within two months had to exchange it for another. After four technicians later and new computer boards, they finally replaced it with a new one. The range would go on by itself and the only way to shut it off was the main switch in the basement. So far so good until one day I was making a sandwich for lunch and heard this loud cracking. I didnt know where it was coming from so that night when I started dinner I realized it was the cooktop that cracked. I wasnt using it, the range was off. This is most bizarre. How can this happen? Well I looked up on this consumer site and apparently Im not the first person. So theres got to be a defect right? Maybe a recall is in order. When I called Samsung they said they would extend my warranty but I needed a tech to come out to make sure it wasnt caused by physical damage. Okay a tech came out and clearly wrote that it was not caused by physical damage and reported that to Samsung. I called them to see what happens next and they claim I need a second opinion and more pictures. They forwarded more pics and Samsung said it was caused by physical damage and I wasnt covered by the warranty. I asked a customer relations person who can I talk to that can help me. She said an executive customer service person, but they only have outgoing calls, you will have to wait until they call you. That person called me today and left a message and told me according to the pictures it was physical damage. So I guess they are calling me a liar. Im not done with them yet, but they are the lowest of the low companies that screw people right and left. Their customer service is full of abrasive people that will not help me. They only have outgoing calls. What in the hell is that? Ive had two of their ranges in 15 months and Im sorry I ever bought one. Terrible company. I bought this item at Best Buy 8/17/2015.
This is so unfair for the companies to be selling this piece of crap, I just recently bought a Samsung Double Oven Gas Range and it is more of a thin metal than stainless steel. Not even my cooking pots looks this bad or get scratch like this range. The same day of installation it got lots of scratches that cant be taken off. Out of nowhere scratches keeps appearing because of daily use. If you pass your fingernails it will leave scratches too and cant take them off. Sucks. Paid almost $3,000 and this is my 2nd week with it. It is a very attractive stove but you cant even get too close just to prevent from getting more scratches or else. Please if anyone knows is there anything out there that can prevent scratches let me know, thanks.
We purchased our top fridge - bottom freezer unit from Best Buy approximately 5 years ago. Last May it started making a lot of noise and then stopped cooling. We paid over $300.00 to fix it (defrosted it due to ice in back and replaced some parts). Now, one year later its not cooling at all. The ice maker no longer senses when it is full either. It is a piece of junk. I will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance.
We love this rich looking stove, especially when you really want to roast a chicken, got enough options to bake different type and ways. And stainless steel back is easy to clean, the only thing is to add is maybe a safety for heat.
If you like cleaning every time you use a cooktop, this range is for you. The oven does not get to the temperature on the display, severely undercooks foods, takes double the time. We have had to go out and buy a thermometer for the oven just to use it properly.
Good size refrigerator, fits large platters with ease, stainless steel outside not as easy to keep clean with teenagers fingers as I would have thought.
I bought a refrigerator model number DF32FMQDBSR. It has been less than four months and it is already giving me problems. A tech from Samsung came and told me that my refrigerator is not working because its missing pieces, it also seems that this unit was previously used. I have tried to get in touch with a supervisor or manager but no response has been receive. They do not want to replace my unit.
The oven door is so easier to open than the KitchenAid that was in the house when I downsized shortly following my husbands passing in October 2019.
I spent nearly $6,000 on new refrigerator, range, dishwasher and microwave less than one year ago and also bought the extended warranty. The first dishwasher they delivered did not work at all and they had to bring a new one. The stainless steel refrigerator was replaced twice after several service attempts to fix ice maker that makes only crushed ice. The unit still only makes crushed ice because it is a design flaw and with every glass of cubed ice you get about 30% of crushed ice. I bought the biggest and best unit on the market.. and we are very disappointed.. The wording ice and water rubbed off within the first couple months and was unreadable. Today, I had problems with the microwave. The numbers are beginning to wear off the front panel. When I called Samsung service they indicate that is a cosmetic issue and not covered by the warranty. I would never ever consider buying Samsung appliances for my kitchen.
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator almost 5 years ago. The refrigeration system is warranted for 5 years. The freezer stopped working 2 weeks ago. A Samsung service rep has been here 3 times and now the refrigerator section doesnt work at all. The customer service department is terrible to deal with; they now want to send a service out again a 4th time next week. Have you ever tried to live without a refrigerator for a week. I would not recommend purchasing a Samsung refrigerator if you want a refrigerator to last more than 5 years. And make sure you have a spare refrigerator while Samsung tries to fix it.
I have owned this refrigerator for over 3 years and in that short time had the ice machine completely freeze, the refrigerator stop working and then and the compressor malfunction. I fixed the ice machine by following manufacturer instructions and defrosted completely and it worked. When the refrigerator stopped, I called Samsung and they provided a set of instructions to reboot the refrigerator and it worked for about 10 days and then it stopped chilling appropriately. After calling Samsung again, they sent two different technicians who both said the compressor was broken. After a lot of calls and hassle over the course of 5 weeks, I still dont have it fixed or replaced. They are estimating an additional 2-3 weeks for the replacement under warranty. The service has been opaque, slow, unreliable (never call when they say they will) and overall horrible. I do not recommend buying a Samsung appliance and I never will again.
We bought the better microwave but as far as operation it is more difficult to use setting time and temperature and turning on are not like the usual microwaves. Sometimes when you punch the buttons they do not respond and you have to go thru the whole process again and hope it functions. Would not recommend.
Worst product EVER! I worked for an appliance manufacturer in Canada. I purchased a refrigerator via my employee discount in 1989. To this day it works PERFECTLY! I need to defrost the ice maker on this POS MONTHLY. STAY AWAY FROM PURCHASING SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS.
I bought a Samsung French Door Refrigerator Model FR323TED February 2013. I have the same problems as all the other poor unfortunate buyers of this product. The defrost cycle does not work, the ice builds up in the back panel hits the fan and makes a terrible noise. Must be defrosted once a month. Samsung will not admit to the problem. There should be a class action suit. I wish I would have seen this website before I bought or started to repair this product. I need to face the fact that this refrigerator needs to go out to my back lot and used for target practice with my 454 Casull. Never will I ever buy another Samsung product.
OK so we have a really nice over the range Samsung microwave that decides that its going to turn on by itself. The microwave got so hot that the glass plate inside broke when my husband opened the microwave door. The glass almost hit him in the face when it broke. He immediately unplugged it. However Samsung believes that because the warranty is up they are not responsible to replace or repair the damage. We will see about that!!!
The worst fridge imaginable! Avoid purchasing a Samsung fridge with exterior ice & water dispenser. We have the French door version (not our first weve had LG in the past) and since Day 1 it has caused us grief and damaged our hardwood floors. The water dispenser nozzle is bent towards the fridge instead of straight down (default setting apparently according to Samsung), and dispenses water with such force that no matter what you do, you end up with water shooting back at you and ultimately onto the floor. Similar problems with the ice dispenser. Although it is always on CUBE setting, shards of ice always spill forth in all directions, ultimately ending up on the floor. We have had to place a tea towel beside the fridge to wipe up the floors EACH TIME we use either ice or water dispenser. Both water and ice dispensers have damaged our hardwood floors over time, and we have had this fridge for only 7 months! Calling Samsung warranty and repair is a nightmare too; disorganized group of customer service representatives who patch you through to another department, ultimately making you repeat the reason why you are calling in the first place. (Why Samsung doesnt have a customer complaint database accessible to all customer service reps is shocking to me.)Ultimately through Samsung we had a visit from a Samsung Certified Repair technician who fiddled around with a couple things and attempted to convince us all was good. We still have the same problems. I am going to work on returning this fridge. How anyone can purchase an appliance that damages your house AND requires you to do extra work is beyond comprehension. We purchased the fridge at Sears Canada and I will be fighting tooth and nail to exchange this for an LG.
Our Samsung started making this popping sound three weeks ago. (2-3 pops per hour). I did a web search and found that many others are having the same problem. I called Samsung customer service, and was told the sound was Normal. I guess I am not quite understanding normal when it never made this sound before. I just wish Samsung would take our complaints and concerns more seriously. The sound can be heard throughout the house, its as if someone was sitting behind the fridge popping balloons. We never hooked up our ice maker so its not that. I will say that the fridge works fine in every other way. Thanks.
Do not buy Samsung products!!! They do not stand behind them. My ice maker has not been working since day one. It freezes over, no ice and its impossible to open it up!! I called and they said, Sorry its not covered under your warranty!!! They are aware of the defect...But dont care!!!
I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen about 5 years ago and chose Samsung. That was a huge mistake. I had to replace the microwave after about 3 years. The refrigerator is now the thorn in my side. About every 60 to 90 days I am having to turn it off and completely defrost it due to freezing around the fan. This has been a horrible experience and I will never buy another Samsung appliance. Reading all the reviews online it appears this is a huge problem nationwide. There should be a recall on all of these refrigerators. I am very unhappy customer.
Updated on 09/25/2020: Horrible, horrible product. After 2 replacement units, it is still not working properly. More freezer frost than a 1949 Admiral freezer. Not frost-free! I give up!! No more Samsung for me!! Beware! Beware!Original Review: Samsung Refrigerator Freezer Purchase. Location: Home Depot, 7740 Craft Goodman Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654. Date/Time: 02/24/2020, 1:36 PM. I called support again and had to wait in the phone tree for 18 more minutes for a call back. Christina, Samsung has prepared a repair service order, #**.
The microwaves fan has come on by itself, and 7 seconds appears on the microwave as well. This is a top of the line microwave (Model # ME21K701DS). After reading some of the reviews, I spoke with Samsung. Samsung will not fix the issue since it was no longer under warranty. No recalls on this microwave issue. The microwave was purchased, November 2016 - this should not be happening. Yet this appears to be happening to many other Samsung customers. This appears to be a malfunction - is there anything that Samsung will do?
Samsung products are sub below my expectations. I have the front load washer/dryer. Horrible washer dont work. Dryer had to get fixed. Refrigerator 3 months new, had to get service on ice maker. Microwave oven work as intended so far, equally, cell phone had 5 different models horrible, some over heated, glitches in screen, poor craftsman ship on battery receptacles and 2 TVs just ok. Many glitches, poor sound system and popping noise.
I bought a Samsung refrigerator in February of 2007. In 2009, it froze up under the plastic wall in the back, making it impossible to close the door. I paid a repairman $200.00 to come and fix it. He put on a new thermostat, cleaned the coils, defrosted everything and put it back together. 1 year later I had to call him back because it did exactly the same thing. Another $150.00. Then in March it did it again. I called a different repairman, thinking he might be able to truly fix the issue, and he told me straight up that Samsung refrigerators have one fan for freezer and fridge. Its a bad plan, it doesnt work and you cant fix it. Lucky me. Well, it happened to me again today, so, now every 2 to 6 months I have to take my fridge apart, defrost it and put it back together. Its a great plan and Samsung is of no help at all. Too bad so sad, but I wont be buying ANYTHING Samsung again... EVER! Ive posted on FB and continue to tell all of my friends what crap they sell.
How do I start this? First bought Samsung because retailer said it was one of the best made refrigerator. After one year the thermal fuse failed, back panel blew out from frost. No warranty coverage. The tech said they had less than 1% failure rate on their appliances. I had no idea if it was the truth but he had a Samsung shirt on so that means he knows what he is doing, right?Well $327.00 later I had a working refrigerator on top of the $1400.00 I had already paid for it. The ice maker stopped making entire ice cubes. Only crushed ice seems to come out of it. That was OK just wrote it off as high moisture in South Carolina until the bottom of the refrigerator filled with water. I noticed the seal for the double doors was not completely sealed because of a wrinkle in the top of it. Warming it with a real hot towel I worked the wrinkle out of it. That seemed to help. Overall I dont recommend this manufacturer of refrigerators. Based on their lack of support I wont be buying Samsung anything for a long time if ever. I dont believe that I still have the receipt but I can find it being bought at Lowes in Seneca, SC four years ago.
It is obvious that Samsung fridges have critical design problems. Those of us foolish enough to buy one know futile and frustrating it is to do with this company. The thing is now to spread the word to others so they dont make the same mistake. I posted an ad for the fridge in Craigslist under the title Samsung Sucks. I know it wont sell, but its a pretty effective way of spreading the word about this company and maybe, with any luck, it will cost them a few sales.
Bought in February 2015, ice maker has quit working every thirty days. Soda stream is a joke, absolutely the most noisy refrigerator Ive ever owned. I will never own a Samsung anything again. Tried to contact customer service. I bet you already guessed. What a JOKE.
We bought our french door/bottom freezer refrigerator model # RF20HFENBC in January of 2016. Just after the year warranty, we noticed our produce bins filling with water and the back wall was freezing too. We called Samsung, were told to level the fridge and that would take care of the problem. Well, it was already level, but, hubby releveled it. Within 10 days, the bins were still filling with water! We have read enough online to know that this refrigerator design is a lemon and a defect, so when we called Samsung, they tried to tell us that our warranty was expired, so we would have to pay the $129 service call fee! No way! We told them about the numerous complaints online, and how its the same exact reason, so they need to repair this. They set us up with a local repair shop called Unique Repair, along with a ticket for the service call, and said they would make sure to cover the cost of the service call... We had to wait 2 days to then set up the appt for the service call... When we called Unique Repair, they had NO confirmation of Samsung paying the service call fee! Since this first phone call, we have called Samsung 4 more times. Each time, its all a new introduction. Have to explain the problem, they deny saying they would cover the service call fee. We ask for a Supervisor to get on the phone, and then, are put on hold, and the customer rep comes back and says they will once again, cover the service call expense...Along with this aggravation from Samsung, their one and only repair shop, Unique Repair in the Chicagoland area, is just as bad, if not worse as far as customer service. They never answer their phones, so we are playing phone tag with them for the past 3 weeks too... They also canceled the first ticket without even telling us, while were waiting to hear from them. When we called about this, they tried to blame us, saying they canceled it because they could not reach us to set up the appointment! We are now waiting for yet, a THIRD ticket to be issued, and have demanded another repair place, we will not work with Unique Repair. Last night, a Rep finally said they will call us in 2 days with another repair company, after arguing with the guy for about 20 minutes, and explaining just how bad this repair place is, and that there are a bunch of negative reviews for them online too. Today, we get a call from Unique Repair asking about the new, current ticket!!!Another call was made tonight because of this nonsense, and we were told to expect a call in 1-2 days from Samsung with a different repair place. We do not believe them, and now, are contacting ABT, who sold us this piece of garbage! In our research, we found there are at least 2100 complaints on this design of refrigerators, since 2011. Another post said Samsung was going to recall these models as of last month (January 2017). When we asked Samsung directly about this, they said if the service person finds a part that is in a recall, we will be advised... We believe they string customers along, and lie, and do not follow through on anything they say. They do not seem to care about consumer satisfaction and about substandard refrigerator designs either. Before buying this last January, we researched online and this brand was listed as a good brands... We are so disappointed and aggravated, and will never buy a Samsung product again. We would like to know if there is a class action lawsuit against them and these refrigerators too. We have not been able to use the produce bins, so our family of five has a cramped fridge, and its just not right. For anyone dealing with these issues, you cant be nice, or they will string you along. You need to be very stern and vent your anger and demand repairs or speak to their supervisor. **Also, make sure you keep a log of dates and times you call them, who you spoke to... VERY important if there is a class action lawsuit, etc!!! Post your problems on their facebook page too, but, I believe they have removed every complaint about their refrigerators, because I do not see ONE, only on their electronics. We know there are 2100 on this page alone... I have summarized what I could here. There are more irritating details I did not share because we have a long list of our dates, notes, peoples names we have spoken to.
I bought a Samsung French door refrigerator in 2013. Within a year it started to freeze up and not cool. I have had to thaw it 4 times in two years now and I am getting ready for number 5. Never! Never! Never! buy their products again. I will not even buy a TV or phone. Horrible company. I am looking to see if any class action lawsuits are around so I can get some of my money back.
