Product Reviews:

8 years ago we purchased a top of the line Bosch washer, dryer and super-quiet dishwasher. The washer and dryer have had regular service and small issues until year 4. Then in year 5, the plastic control panel on both washer and dryer began to crack. I have no idea why this happened other than design that did not incorporate enough strength to withstand operational stress. (We used the machines 2 or 3 times a week and did not mistreat them.) Initially this was a small issue and didn't matter. When the cracks needed to be held together to set the programs (duct tape!), I decided to contact Bosch. The service rep was polite, but the experience was unsatisfactory. The machines were out of warranty. Bosch offered a 20% discount on replacement panels, which ran into around $800, plus the installation, which they would not cover. I was shocked because I had equated German engineering with product quality. The dishwasher is OK, wonderfully quiet, but not esp. well designed for US use. I am disappointed in Bosch. The machines have pre-set cycles and are not set up for flexible use; they clean well, although the front loader washer needs to be cleaned once a month or the moldy smell is intolerable. I would guess that these products came to market a little early in the design process. I am writing this review to encourage any prospective Bosch buyers to look at (yes, I'm saying this) machines made in the US. Whirlpool and Kenmore have well-reviewed machines with decent warranties (sometimes for added cost).

Control lights failure when buttons are pushed - This has happened repeatedly, and is expensive to have out-of-warranty repairs made. Also KitchenAid/Whirlpool uses third party service technicians, which in my case proved to be incompetent and actually broke other parts of my dishwasher. Kitchen Aid refuses to stand by their recommended third party service organization (whom they have since fired) and allows them to sell the customer (me) an "extended warranty" which both the since-fired service organization (A&E Factory Service) and KitchenAid refuse to honor.

We called Bosch when our 2 1/2 year old dishwasher broke. Their service dept. had a 2 week wait so they recommended authorized service providers with Mr. Appliance at the top of the list. We called Mr. Appliance and told them of the error code displayed and requested service for a broken drain pump. They came, charged us $170 and didn't bring the part. Then they sent a $600 quote to fix the unit. I called Bosch because at this point I could buy a new dishwasher. After some back and forth they offered to pay for the part and I'd pay for the labor. Mr. Appliance hadn't broken out the quote, Bosch said the part was $36. Bosch offered to call Mr. Appliance which they did but to no avail. Still a $600 job.Bosch charges a set fee ($129) then another $30 per 15 minutes. They had no information about how long it should take to install the part. They offered me 2 additional authorized repair companies. One was out of business and the other had horrendous reviews. I called an unauthorized company in my neighborhood with excellent reviews and they will do the job for $198 plus the part. Bosch refused to sell me the part or sell it to the unauthorized repair company.First of all, the unit should not break after 2 years of use by empty nesters who barely use the dishwasher. They should make a better quality product and stand by their brand with more than a free part. Secondly, Bosch needs to review their requirements for authorizing repair companies. They should consider pricing and reviews to hold these companies accountable in exchange for giving them so much business. It should not cost more than the price of a new unit to replace a common part. I will not buy another Bosch!

Model # KUDL021RBS4 - As two retired old folks, we use a lot of paper plates and have used our expensive all stainless dishwasher no more than three times a month. It was purchased from Lowe's 2007. A month ago, the LEDs on the control panel started flashing. Wife called KA and they connected us to a tech. "No problem," he says, "change the circuit board." No problem, I say. I build computer up from parts. I'll change out the part from Whirlpool. The washer worked once and the lights started flashing again. Washer won't run. The internet chat line person knew nothing about that. He sent me a copy of what was included with the owner's manual that doesn't reflect the actual model. Question is, do I waste another $250 with further service calls and parts or do I buy a disposable one for only $247 and give up on those pretty premium expensive disposable appliances? Samsung did me wrong, now Kitchen Dis-Aid. Why pay more? What's the point?

The bottom rack is a huge amount of work because it comes offtrack constantly and the little wheels come off, no matter how gentle I try to be. I would never buy a Bosch dishwasher again and do regret my choice. This mechanical difficulty is annoying. Also, there is residual water on the top shelf, not every time but often (settling in containers or on glasses). It does get the dishes clean.

If you are considering this product...RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! This is the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned!! I would be more than happy to take back my 20+ year old washer over this JUNK!! It is 2-2 1/2 years old tops. I cannot count how many times my husband has already had to repair this garbage!!! I will NEVER purchase another Maytag appliance! My stainless steel dishwasher isn't any better!!

Maytag Dishwasher Model MDB 7749SAM0 - Bought this dishwasher from Lowes in 2012 for my daughter and son-in-law's new home. Thought I was making a good choice with Maytag. Wrong. Same control board problem that everyone else is having. Wiring ribbon is corroded and shorted. Why is this not a re-call? I will call Maytag and Lowes and complain, but likely will get no justice. Sounds like I should just bring this machine to the dump and take my losses.

My overall experience with it was okay, but after a little over a year, it started leaking water everywhere. Thankfully it was still under warranty then, but still would not expect something to go wrong with it for just a year’s worth of use. It was big enough to fit all of our needs just fine, and we have a family of four. Never had an issue with the space with it at all. Overall, the outside of the unit is very nice, because I got the stainless steel one to match all of my other appliances in the house. Inside, it looks like any other dishwasher. The value was alright, not a real big deal and not a real big price either. But overall, I would say that it was okay for what I had to pay for it.

Sometimes I have water marks on my glasses which does not make Sarah a very happy camper but other times it ok. Good at getting off stains. Well idk about all of y'all but it fits perfectly in my house as if it were built specially for me so that's definitely a plus. So that's good and it holds a lot. I just love that I couldn't ask for a better looking dishwasher. It's sleek and looks like the latest and greatest thing out there. SUCH a good bang for your buck. The price is phenomenal and I would definitely do it all over again next time I get a new one. I was just so pleased with it all together.

I'm just beginning the process of investigating this dishwasher I bought that doesn't work. I am a snowbird so this machine has only been used part time for a family of 2. We installed it March 2010 and it’s October 2013. But during that time frame we've only used it approx. 3 months in 2010, 7 months in 2011 and 7 in 2012 and 5 months in 2013. I noticed a smell of something burning before we left in May but thought it was something from the outdoors. So blew it off and left. When we returned last week, we discovered that the water wouldn't fill up but the heat would come on..... even if you turned off the "heat feature"!!!! And it gets hot. We've unplugged it and was going to call GE repair tech until I read these reviews. Now I don't know what to do because it's not under warranty.
