My four year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher (model kudko31twh2) has been a head
My four year old Kitchen Aid dishwasher (model kudko31twh2) has been a headache. Numerous calls for leaks has not fixed the problem through Bestbuy extended warranty companies. Now, my new kitchen floor is damaged, and this past Saturday, Feb 18, the machine gave off a burning smell. I had to remove the machine from the premises, due to the smell, and felt compelled to purchase a new dishwasher, even though there is still time left on my extended warranty. I am very angry and frustrated that Kitchen Aid said it is Best Buys problem, and not theirs. They might be right, but they should stand behind their products better.

Refrigerator model KFIS29BBNS00 - We purchased this unit in 2012. Ever since we have add numerous repair calls. Not only the first year but since. They replaced left door and freezer pull out door rusted. Ice maker replaced, and mother board several times for the ice maker dispenser. Now we are under extended warranty and we need a compressor. They will be out next week to replace. We requested the first year for a replacement and they have spent more on parts. Since we purchased it then we paid for it. They will not replace unit. It is a lemon from day one. Always has made a noise. It was so loud at one point we had to close our bedroom door at night to sleep. Dont buy this appliance. It looks pretty but it doesnt work right and they keep repairing it. The warranty department said they do not have a record for the first year just since they took over.

This refrigerator is just over 1 year old and it has stopped cooling 5 times. It is a defect that KitchenAid is aware of and they arent doing anything to fix it. They have an internal service bulletin on this issue. They send a repairman out and he replaces a part and 2 months later it stops cooling due to ice build up behind cold cut/vegetable drawer. They continue to make different repairs until your warranty is expired, then you are out of luck. KitchenAid knows they have a bad product. They dont have a permanent solution, yet they continue to sell this model. What kind of company does this? How do they get away with it? AN ATTORNEY NEEDS TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! Maybe that will get KitchenAids attention.

We purchased a KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and over the stov
We purchased a KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and over the stove microwave three years ago. All stainless steel (except for the plastic parts that are colored to look like stainless steel). So far the refrigerator and dishwasher have not been a problem. In the case of the stove, I was very disappointed with the quality of the stove, particularly the drawer below the oven. You cant describe it as anything other than flimsy. I should have checked out the drawer in the showroom model, but who would think to do that. However the microwave Model YKHMS 1850SS2 is the biggest problem. Having read the other reviews I realize that my complaints are shared by many other customers and that they have not been successful in resolving their complaints with KitchenAid. The first problem was with the vent grill. As others have found the plastic grill is so poorly made it cracks and snaps when you tighten the screws to hold it in place. In fact I discovered beyond the warranty period that the grill was damaged on delivery. Within the last month, the door handle, which looks like stainless steel but is in fact plastic literally broke apart under normal use. I was interested to read the reviews and learn that this is not an uncommon problem. I went online to see if I could get a replacement handle. Replacement handles are readily available for most microwaves, including earlier KitchenAid models at around $45. However, KichenAid will not supply a replacement handle for this model. They will gladly supply a new door for $350. This is unacceptable. Based on the many problems reported in the customer reviews it would be stupid of me to invest in a new door and then be faced with some of the other problems consumers have had with a KitchenAid microwave. We will replace it with a new microwave that is not a Whirlpool product. And we will never buy another KitchenAid stove, refrigerator, dishwasher or other Whirlpool appliance.

Ive owned my KitchenAid Refrigerator since 2011. In 2014 I had a problem with water build up on the freezer floor, and it cost $150 for repair. A drain hole clogs up and they have to replace and clean it out. It has been 18 months and it has happened again. Im very disappointed. I never spent repair $$ on a previous KitchenAid Refrigerator.

We have owned this refrigerator for 7 years, and it started to leak. Wood floor and all the other issues included. Since we had extended warranty, we contacted the company. Although it did take longer than I hoped to have them come out, but thank goodness we think the problem is fixed, thanks to a great serviceman from A&E. He was an older repairman, and I give credit to that. He seemed very experienced and it was fixed within one and a half hour. After I read all the reviews before he came I was very discouraged, but he explained what the problem was and it sure makes sense. When he came, he removed the panel, defrosted all the ice and blew air through the drainage hose. Once the drainage hose was cleaned out, we found in the drain pan a plug of vegetables (frozen kale) He explained that this must have fallen on the bottom of the freezer, ended up in the drainage hose and plugged it up.Once it was all cleaned up, we have not had a problem. So what is of great importance in the future is that a person does not let pieces of vegetables fall into the bottom of the freezer. Because it might get stuck again into the drainage hose. I hope I have saved other owners from this misery and maybe prevent you from the same problem we had.

Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

I looked and looked at gas ranges - I was very excited to be able to use gas again. I selected this Kitchen Aid stove and was not told that the central oval burner, which I paid extra to have, would not provide more than a low flame. You buy the whole 5th unit for just pancakes only! The self-cleaning oven will not clean the sides of the oven, only the pan over the burner. The little top oven is meant only for warming, not baking or cooking because it cooks so unevenly that toast, food and cookies are done on the glass side and burned on the back side. I have had KA service people out twice and they say that thats the way it is and that it registers 350 degrees when checked. I could have bought an oven for less than 1/2 and had a better oven. Its not the company that produced my 30-yr-old KA mixer, is it?

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

This will be the 2nd time that I have had to call a repairman out to replace the thermostat in my Superba wall oven. Like so many other complaints Ive seen posted, there is something wrong if you cannot use the self clean function of your self-cleaning oven. To pay this kind of price (over $3,000) for a convection oven/microwave combo is a lot and you would expect a better product. First off, you pay extra for a self cleaning function but if you cant ever use it without it disabling your entire oven, then whats the point? So far on my oven combo unit, I have had to replace the glass in the door panel of the microwave, the glass in the door panel of my oven (no they were never hit by anything) and am now replacing my thermostat for the second time all because I wanted to use an option that I paid for: a self-cleaning option. Never again will I buy a product from KitchenAid or one of their related subsidiaries.

Tall side by side with brushed stainless finish and separate water and ice dispensers tall enough for glassware. Finish shows fingerprints and other marks, but cleans off ok. Filter cartridge accessed from outside and at bottom vent area. Controls and seals good for this unit and energy consumption seems about right and reasonable. Still has limitations of side by side for storage and standard depth is not as desirable as counter depth.

We bought a very nice looking French door refrigerator and only six days later, it stopped cooling the food. The thermometers we put in it registered 50 degrees! The store would not replace it. Theyll just send out a technician and they dont know when that will be. Frankly, I dont trust KitchenAid as far as I can throw a stick if after only 6 days, it is not working. What happens in 60 days or 6 months? This was a brand new unit in the box and not a floor model. At least the freezer works and the full length deli drawer is working. I have food I have to move to an old garage fridge. They wont take care of that.

Kitchenaid Model KDFE104DSS0 - I have before me FOUR repair records on a machine less than one year old. I bought it in January, and by June, the motor had burnt out. In October, yet again, another new motor needed. It still didnt work, did not even get the dishes wet. The company repairman from Platinum Factory Service came back again, ten days later, and replaced a board and wire assembly. Still didnt work; same problem as the one he came over twice now to fix, and both times left me with a machine that didnt work. Lowes, where I bought it, sent over their own repairman. It needed a new motor! After six weeks with a machine I couldnt use, it was finally fixed. Its been working okay now for almost two months.

We purchased a complete kitchen of KitchenAid products. The quality has been very poor. The name at one time inferred quality. In two years the refrigerator was replaced once and the second has failed. The refrigerator temperature controls dont seem to change anything. The Dishwasher has been repaired three times. The stove has very poor insulation, but does a good job of heating the kitchen. In summary, I hope your experience has been different. Lowes has made every effort to to do a good job, but they simply have very little to work with with their KitchenAid appliance brand. I suggest you read the other reviews and make a wise decision. I run heavy use and have not encountered any repairs. I typically spend around 1100.00 and plan on 7-8 years of use before purchasing again. I like the hidden controls and the cycle light is easy to notify you. Very functional and I would do it again! We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our new home in late 2011. Two years ago I had to replace the refrigerator after losing the compressor. It was going to be almost $900 to replace the compressor or $1300 to buy a new refrigerator, so we bought a new fridge, but NOT a KitchenAid. Also in 2017 two of the five burner knobs seized up and could not be turned on. Another service visit and about $500 later these were fixed. Now this week I’ve had to call for service AGAIN because two other burner knobs have seized up and cannot be turned on. This will cost me another $400-500 again to get it serviced. I’m seriously thinking about replacing it with an electric range. It takes forever for the oven to preheat and also takes forever for water to start boiling. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER KITCHENAID PRODUCT!! They used to be great but nothing but problems now.

This refrigerator is an expensive $9000 built in KBSN602ESS00. It is a replacement for another KitchenAid of the same size. I have had 4 service calls hoping for a tech that can stop the loud, disruptive shaking, rattling noises this unit makes. It is so loud it can easily be heard in the next room where I watch tv. I have spoken to Kitchenaid numerous more times hoping for a solution.Besides the loud ice maker filling with water, the obnoxiously disturbing loud noises from ice cubes dropping, the compressor humming loudly at two different speeds, this built-in makes a sound like metal being shaken and rattling. It can make this noise 6 times in 20 minutes. It does it in the middle of the night, during the morning, every time water is being added to the ice maker. Even if you push the ice maker arm into the off position, this refrigerator still makes the shaking, rattling noises. It wastes your time with tech appointments. Whats worse is Whirlpool apparently tells techs its a water line moving problem. Two techs have told me the noise is internal to the refrigerator. Each tech has called into Whirlpool for a solution, yet that expensive, disruptive unit is still sitting in my kitchen. It has also had temperature control issues. Thirty-four degrees is the coldest setting for this refrigerator. It does not always maintain this temperature on its shelves though. It also has the capacity to drop the freezer to -15 F. That wasted a good portion of my day. Waiting for techs, 4 times has wasted another 4-hour blocks I had to fit in to still be left with this disturbing refrigerator. The salesman quit working for the store I purchased it from about a month after the unit was installed. A second salesperson assured me she would contact Kitchenaid. I have heard nothing back.

KITCHENAID MODEL# KUD123HBWHO, DATE OF MANUF: 1996, INSTALL DATE 1996. A good note for the earlier Whirlpool dishwashers. I had this one for 18 years & the steel tub developed a leak due to a small hole rusted through. It took 2 months, but Whirlpool has finally replaced my unit with a new one. The original warranty was for 25 years on the tub. This unit was 18 years old, without any other problems. This is quick, easy, and short. I purchased a new KitchenAid side by side in March of 2011. One month later, it stopped cooling. As a service tech, I had already tested and found that the start relay and overload were bad because the compressor was about to take a dump. I called for service which took about a week to arrange. When the service tech arrived, he replaced the relay and overload without testing the compressor. I asked him if that was common practice which I knew wasnt. He replied that it was a common problem and it wasnt necessary to test the compressor and everything should be fine. Little did he know about my abilities. Knowing KitchenAids reputation, I was fully prepared on how to deal with the situation and didnt want or need to have to go through what so many others had to do. Also knowing that the compressor only had a limited life of maybe a week before it quit completely, I first purchased a used old refrigerator for $50.00 to get me by just in case. In about 8 days, the problem with the original fridge returned now even worse. Then, I went to the same store I bought the original KitchenAid. I purchased the same unit on my credit card for over $2,600. Foreseeing what was impending doom for the original fridge, I moved it out of site and had the new one delivered. The next day, I canceled the credit card transaction for the new fridge and called the store to advise them to come and get the fridge. What they didnt know is I exchanged the old fridge with the new one and even switched the ID tags that have the serial number. The next day, the store came to get the fridge not knowing they got the old one broken back in exchange. Ironically, no one had a clue nor did they even check. So, I ended up with a working new refrigerator. And I didnt have to deal with poor service not only from the store, KitchenAid reps, or a service provider that doesnt have a clue on how to repair these products. In the end, I not only now have a good working and new refrigerator, but the old one I bought as a stand by for $50 was cleaned up and completely checked out, then sold for $150.00.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances when we built our house in May 2010, after being told that they were top-of-the-line. Regarding our refrigerator (model KBFS25EVMS2) with French doors and freezer on the bottom thats been in the house for about 8 months, we noticed that the right side of its doors was not sealing properly. When I contacted the store about this, I was told that this is a typical problem with the French-door models. Should this not be disclosed upfront?! When I contacted KA about this, I was told that my refrigerator was out of warranty (date of purchase, not date installed) and they refused to help in any way.My problem with all this is my old refrigerator (Maytag) had it for 23 years, and I never replaced a door gasket or worked on it in any way. I dont know a door gasket should go bad in less than a year. Now being two years, it is crumbling and falling apart when you open the door. If you buy from KA or an approved service company, the seal is $199. I purchased one on the internet for $99 and replaced it myself. Buyer, beware! KA does not care about the customer, just the dollar! I will never purchase another KA brand or Whirlpool brand ever again, and I will make sure all my friends know about it too.

Two years ago we were renovating our kitchen and took out an old dishwasher that we had been using for 15 years. Still worked great but was very loud. We were looking for something quiet and it was a toss up between the KitchenAid and a Bosch. Sales guy steered us toward a high end KitchenAid, top of the line model, over $2000. What a piece of garbage. Within a couple of months we had control panel problems, then I noticed a huge stain on the cabinetry and called repair. Pulled the dishwasher out and it was leaking around all the screws that hold the racks in on the outside. Completely destroyed the cabinetry and that had to be replaced at our cost. Since then it’s been broke down three more times with electrical problems. It’s cost me at least half the value of the dishwasher and needs more repairs. I think I’m just going to pull it out and get a Bosch. What was I thinking... a BMW or a Pinto. Don’t buy a KitchenAid, they are garbage.

We purchased all new appliances when we remodeled our kitchen in Aug 2017. The refrigerator quit making ice in Jan 2019. I had a repairman come out and replace the freezers fan motor. That fixed the problem, I thought, but now the ice cream in the freezer is super soft. It costs $115 for the repair guy to just come out to diagnose the problem. The last issue cost me almost $400. Now I have to have the thing looked at again. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances because we thought they were able to last with fewer repairs, guess we were wrong. The refrigerator was a major purchase but to need to call out for repairs again is unbelievable.

This unit did not work particularly well from the start. Lightly soiled dishes were not clean, even after the excruciating 3.5 hour cycle. A foul smell developed as old water would not clear the system despite regular cleaning of the filters. A pump broke after only 2 months. It was fixed under warranty, but the performance was still poor. Just after a year, the end of the warranty, the pump broke again. We decided to junk it. Why throw good money after bad? Our previous dishwasher (Kenmore) lasted 18 years without a repair. The gaskets went and it was looking tired, but still cleaned well. The KitchenAid did not work well from the start and was nothing but trouble. KitchenAid customer service was no help as well.

I have had Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) refrigerators for many years now. The older side by side was efficient but difficult to fit all frozen items in especially Pizza Boxes. So the newer Freezer I have is a Bottom Drawer Freezer, which may seem like a good Idea but is quite the puzzle to use efficiently. Most of the time, items are just stacked and get lost or hidden so you wind up taking more things out just to get to what you want. This type of freezer is not user friendly, but I guess is designed to allow better use of the Refrigerator portion of the unit. One last note, mine do not seal properly and frost built up around the drawer and now Whirlpool needs to replace it, the refrigerator is less than 1 year old and was $4,200.

Refrigerator KSSC42QMS - I bought the above mentioned fridge in August 2004 for $5788 plus tax locally. I had remodeled an older house and redid the whole kitchen, bought commercial grade appliances in stainless steel. The fridge was the top of the line in 2004. Right before Christmas 2014 - 10 years later the fridge started to beep. We could tell there was something not working correct. We called the number on the sticker and were referred to an appliance repair shop. They came out and checked it. I paid $75. I was told that the board was going out and we would have to pay around $200 to have it replaced. Then we received a phone call where we were told there are no more parts available. I was totally shocked. I can understand that that kind of fridges are not build anymore; but that you can’t supply replacement parts for a fridge which was $6000, that’s just not right. Thanks to my son Bernhard, who is very handy and computer savvy, I didnt need to buy a new fridge. He checked online and read all the comments about the boards and the fridges, which were built up to 2007. There were different options for him: they offered to get a new board for $1500 which is the biggest joke, you can buy a nice fridge for that money! Or he could pay $20 for directions to repair the board, or just order the parts to fix the board. Since he didnt need the directions, he just ordered the replacement parts for the board. Obviously anybody can order those parts, just not the Kitchenaid Service Department or the Repair company! What a poor service! To make a long story short: my son ordered parts to repair the board for $18. EIGHTEEN DOLLARS!!! And fixed it himself within 5 minutes! I’m very proud to have a son like him! I always thought Kitchenaid was a great major appliance brand, I guess I was totally wrong. I will never buy anything Kitchenaid.

We bought the KitchenAid refrigerator in 2013. It was on clearance at Lowes. Now I know why it was a great deal, because they have problems with them. As I read the reviews from other consumers, we have the same exact problem with the freezer. It leaks water and freezes on the tray after 1 year. We have to break up the ice and empty it out every two weeks. The ice maker quit making ice after three years and now I just shut off the ice maker. My husband bought me a KitchenAid mixer for Christmas 2015 and after a year of sitting on the counter I decided to use it. It literally Sucks. I have had my Sunbeam Mixer for over 15 years, Im still happy to use it. I will never buy KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Amana Product again.

I have an extended warranty that I bought through KitchenAid. It is Dan Marc Appliance Repair in New Jersey and they are horrible. They either order the wrong part or the part comes broken. I always have to go 2 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. And I also lose a freezer-full of food. KitchenAid, who is owned by Whirlpool, is horrible to deal with and I would not recommend them to anyone. And to me these appliances are new and to have them fixed 3 times in 2 years is not acceptable. They are also overpriced.

Well, it started in October and finally, on April 1st (a coincidence?), I found out the part for my oven (replaced once before) was no longer manufactured and they could not find it. I had been promised on 6 separate occasions the part may be available (such fun having Christmas with no oven). It was a litany of no return calls to update the status of the part. The response: Were an incoming call center; we cant make outgoing calls. Hello?! - Its the 21st century. They did offer to pay for the part if I could find it on my own - of course; Ill do your job for you and on my time! As further compensation, they offered me 15% off the purchase of a new unit - once I supplied the invoice. Provincial taxes are 13% in Ontario - so big deal. I will grant you the stove is 10 years old and gently used, but is built-in obsolescence just the way it is? I feel terrible about sending a unit of this size to scrap when a dependable part was all that was required. I have gifted many friends and family KitchenAid products under the apparent fallacy theyre built to last. Never, ever again.

KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer, Model: KFFS20EYWH00 - Purchased in 2012, this model has double doors and a freezer drawer below. The gaskets on the doors include, at the lower inside edge, a flange. I dont know its purpose. In this instance, the flange on the right-hand door became torn simply from opening and closing the doors. We contacted a repair person, who collected the $95 price and ordered from KitchenAid a new gasket, but KitchenAid no longer offers it in white (like the original) so we had to accept grey. When it arrived he came to install it. It was about 1/4 inch too short in the length. We thought it was his error. We researched and found the gasket online, but also talked to a KitchenAid rep who agreed wed found the right one, so we ordered it. It came; it was exactly like the one ordered by the repairman- just a little too short. We returned it, with a letter (one copy sent with the return, the other mailed directly). We have heard NOTHING from KitchenAid. Its strange and frustrating that they arent making a replacement gasket in white, but a lot stranger and more frustrating that they offer a so-called replacement that isnt the right size.

11 months into the purchase of our KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer, water started leaking onto our NEW hardwood floor, from the bottom of the freezer. Because of how new this was and no VISIBLE problem, we assumed it was an ice cube that dropped out, or something from the filtered water spout on the fridge. At 12 months, we investigated further and noticed the ice build up on the bottom of the freezer. The water was coming from here. The warranty on this had expired, of course. But, who could imagine that a pricey refrigerator such as this would only last 1 year? We got this repaired at our expense thru a certified dealer, so any other warranty would still be valid.Well after keeping careful watch on the bottom of the freezer, and scraping ice when we could, we have the very same problem again, a little more than 1 year later. Thick ice now, and of course water coming from the bottom. It seems this problem is systemic to the design of this product. This is not satisfactory to the consumer!!!

The repairman put another one in and that one broke as well. They sent me a new fridge. It was dented but I took it. AGAIN...noise coming from evaporator area in the back panel. It was repaired and the ice cube maker stopped working well. A couple of months later it completely stopped. When fields appliance repair came out the older man leaned on the drawer I am guessing. The ice cube maker is finally working but the drawer is bent out on the upper right hand corner. There is warm air and air leakage on the upper right corner. Icicles and frost on the top inside seal with frost on the tray. I can easily put my fingers under the seal. My freezer is not cooling properly with air leakage. Do not, I repeat, do not but a KitchenAid dishwasher... unless you expect to pay thousands of dollars to own it. I have model # KUD5301xbtr bought in 2011. Within 4 months, I had 4 service calls to replace a fuse. At that time, KitchenAid told me I was trying to get a new dishwasher. Gee, told them I had a new dishwasher - just wanted it to work. Finally it was fixed. I use the term fixed loosely. It quit again in early 2013, they would only offer me a new maintenance contract. But the company that does the maintenance contract were total jerks. Let me explain, what I called them about they recorded in their records to make it sound like one thing to their advantage. The long and short of this - the poor dishwasher will be taking space up in a local landfill. I have had my fill. I bought the dishwasher for $700+, and then add all the service agreements; it has become a $1,000 dishwasher that does not work. And KitchenAid will not admit there is a problem. I thought I was buying a quality product when I purchased my side by side KSF26C7XYY00 refrigerator. The refrigerator I had was very old and not cooling. Since I was renovating my kitchen, what better than to purchase a quality product like KitchenAid... Unfortunately that was not the case! After six months to the day, the freezer stopped working. I had to throw everything away the day before Christmas. Knowing no one would be taking calls on Christmas I waited a couple of days. In the meantime, the refrigerator side stopped cooling as well. I called the KitchenAid customer service line to go through the proper procedures and protocol for the warranty. The service guy came out on Dec. 28 and told me he did not know how to fix it and he would order the parts. Several days pass. I had to call them to find out where the parts were only find that they had no idea. There was a new tracking system and they could not track the parts in transit. After a week and a half and after speaking with one of KitchenAids corporate reps and some emails to the Brand Experience Senior Manager they finally agreed to replace the refrigerator. You would think this would be a good thing however they had to order it and it would take 7-10 days. After calling the delivery company I found that they had had the refrigerator and no information on who it belonged to, yet no one investigated this. I received the new replacement refrigerator on Jan. 20. Now, you would think that the saga would be over, but no. After nearly ONE MONTH without a refrigerator, the new refrigerator does not work! The freezer is not freezing and the refrigerator side is only slightly cool compared to the 37 degrees that it is supposed to be according to the manual. I called KitchenAid only to have the customer service person tell me I needed to make an appointment for a service call. At this point I am beyond frustrated and I would like to get my money back so I can buy something that works. I cant afford to replace food or eat out daily. I will NEVER buy KitchenAid or any of their affiliates again and will advise everyone I know and work with (the 9th largest school district in the US) of the same.

Bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher 15 months ago. Almost $900. Wife wanted it to match our KA fridge. I thought, for that kind of $$, the KA DW would clean better and last longer than my moms $300 Kenmore. But the KA has never cleaned well, even with top-line Cascade products. This week, it would start but not complete a cycle. Nothing in the manual about this. Called customer service. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they have no troubleshooting advice for this problem. My only option was to pay for a service call and the machine is just 3 months out of warranty! I told the lady that I would be writing many uncomplimentary reviews. Im convinced that KitchenAid is not worth the extra money. It is NOT a better product.

Purchased the extended warranty (thank God), had the service company out, they removed the rubber stopper and we were done, SO I THOUGHT. Have had 2 other repair companies out due to the rising temp, frost, food freezing in the refrigeration area, and the compressor running for periods of up to 4 hours continuously. Was told there was a part that should have been put in when the Rubber Stopper was removed. O.K., replaced that part, problem fixed... NO, and told that it is normal for the Compressor to run up to 80% of the day! Have called Lowes yet again due to the compressor running all day, and an electric bill that has jumped from an average of 125.00 to over 200.00 due to this refrigerator. Keep being told by Lowes that they will submit to their Review Board for replacement, but doubt that anything will come of that. Bought a great looking KitchenAid oven last year, but it has an unusual malfunction of blowing hot air from the oven into the kitchen for extended periods of time while the oven is on, and most annoyingly, after the oven is turned off. It heats up the kitchen so much it is uncomfortable to be in there while cooking anything in the oven.Just now, we turned off the oven more than an hour ago, and incredibly, the fan in the oven suddenly turned on and for about five minute spewed more hot air into our kitchen. This is a major malfunction. Previously contacted KitchenAid, but the phone operator could not help and thought this was normal. This cannot possibly be normal. Having purchased an entire kitchen of KitchenAid products, almost every one has broken - more than once. While the company repaired the dishwasher handle the first time it broke, they refused to fix the dishwasher door, which flops open dangerously. I paid over $100 to have it fixed. Now that the microwave, which comes on spontaneously, must be fixed, theyve agreed to that, but not the handle that broke off or the faux-stainlesss/plastic vent cover that ironically fell on the floor days after the call. Turns out they now admit that the dishwasher door is a chronic problem and theyll cover it, but in astonishingly rude tones, refused to fully fix or replace the microwave, even though I have paid for defects they now acknowledge. Instead, theyve invited me to buy a new vent cover at my own expense, investing additional money in their plainly substandard appliances. Or, I can buy a new KA microwave = at 15% off?! (To be clear, I would sooner set $649 on fire and use the flame to cook). Customer service is, at the corporate level, woefully rude and disinterested in customer satisfaction, seemingly having deaf and numb to their growing number of angry consumers. Amazingly, I visited a friend in L.A. who has the same appliances. And the same problems.

I purchased an existing house with a KitchenAid Superba stove/cooktop and microwave combo. Everything worked fine for 6 months until I got the crazy idea to use the self-cleaning mode. The oven no longer heats now. I tested the heating elements and they are both fine. I found out that it is most likely the thermal shutdown fuse, a part that runs about $45-$50 online. I can do the replacement myself but as many others have said, I wont use the self-cleaning mode again. For those who cannot afford the cost for a service call, its a pretty easy part to replace - if in fact that is all that went bad during the self-clean. Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher model: KUDS30CXWH7 in august 2012. I realize that is some time ago. I have been unhappy with this appliance since the first time I used it. The only positive thing I can say is it is more quiet than the previous dishwasher. I have the heavy duty cycle - it is no better than the normal cycle for cleaning pots or pyrex baking dishes. Please understand they are virtually clean when put in the washer yet not thoroughly clean at the end of the cycle. The heat dry cycle dries NOTHING so a dish towel or drying pad must be used daily.I also find it so odd that an appliance that is supposed to clean must also be cleaned with a special dishwasher soap otherwise it smells like a wet dog. I have had repair people here for a variety of dishwasher complaints - some have been remedied - but generally their comments are thats the way new appliances are. They dont clean thoroughly, they dont dry thoroughly, and they will smell unless you use dishwasher cleaner. An unhappy customer.

This is a well-documented issue and if this was a safety issue on a car, there would be a massive recall.

We had this oven range delivered in early December 2019. By Dec 26, the inside top oven enamel had shattered. After some long phone calls and declined offers of $150 cash back on a $2,000 oven, we were approved for a full replacement. The replacement oven was delivered on January 18, 2020. On February 1st, 2020, the oven enamel shattered again. The oven was used a handful of times, never over 400 degrees F. Enamel could have easily gotten into my food while cooking. Kitchenaid should look out for a lawsuit for knowingly selling defective ranges. Unfortunately we bought a whole line of Kitchenaid appliances because we wanted them all to match in our kitchen. I am requesting a refund and will not be purchasing Kitchenaid.

I paid for high-end KitchenAid appliances because of the reputation of quality and service, and Ive experienced nothing but the opposite; in 2 years, my refrigerator needed a cooling element replaced, my oven glass exploded across my kitchen (thank goodness my children were not standing there!), a heating element in my convection microwave needed to be replaced, and most recently a door switch in the microwave needed replacing because it was causing it to not operate. This last repair, I was out of the 2-year warranty by one month, and they are refusing to cover the $142 cost of the repair. They dont stand by their products. In 2 years, for the thousands of dollars we paid, nothing should go wrong with any appliances, let alone these many occurrences. And to not cover a repair being 1 month past warranty, especially with all of the other problems Ive had, even just to save face, is ridiculous for such a large company.

We had our KitchenAid dishwasher serviced 2 times in 3 years of purchase model # kdte104ewh3. The motor went bad 2 years after we purchased it new for $690.00 and the repair was half the cost of a new one, $331.15 for a new motor/pump, Then the problem happened again a year later. Yikes. Honestly, the dishwasher does not clean as good as the one we had there before for 10 years, that one a Kenmore we never had a problem with.

I have had this stove for 5 years. It is stainless steel but the top griddle area has all rusted! Also, when I used the self clean program it fried the entire control panel which was expensive to replace even under warranty as they did not cover the service charge and it took 2 months to receive the part. I had a repeat of this problem again, so the panel needed to be replaced. I now have to steam clean my oven which does not work effectively! Also, measuring the oven temperature is NEVER close to the temperature on the display panel. I would never buy another KitchenAid stove again. The fan is very loud as well. I use my microwave as my oven instead of using this stove. Expensive and poor quality!

Poor reliability. Very disappointed based on initial reviews of how happy people were with model. I guess I like it too - when it is working. Who has the money or time for all these repairs? Purchased in September 2011 and the motor failed the first week. Best Buy swapped out dishwasher in October 2011. Had some intermittent issues when it would not turn on when we pushed the key pads. March 2013 - stopped working completely. The electrical panel on inside of door came loose. Was not an actual electrical problem so did not fall under warranty. I paid the $130 for a 15-minute service. September 2013. Dishwasher failed to complete rinse cycle and wont start again - just makes a louder than usual noise like it is trying to start. Just called for another repair.

We bought all new KitchenAid stainless steel appliances for our kitchen. Stove had a broken door piece - ok fair enough, we are still waiting on the new part. Fridge specs were given without consideration for the hinges so when it arrived it did not fit - poor. New fridge arrived with door overfilled so that foam was puking out from all the edges. KitchenAid makes the fridges with a greyscale side and the stove with a black side so they dont even match. Called Kitchenaid - the service gentleman arrived and agreed door should be replaced but will take minimum 8 weeks as the doors are made in Mexico. 2/10 would not buy from this company again though I thought they were supposed to be about quality. I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from hhgregg in January of 2011. I purchased model KUDS30IXSS. I also purchased a 5 year warranty for the dishwasher. The first time I called for service for the dishwasher was for the top rack in the dishwasher. The rack was broken and needed to be replaced. The rack was not covered and I had to pay nearly a $100 for the part. The next time I called for service the pump was broken on the dishwasher. This part was covered by the warranty on the dishwasher. The next time I called for service the grinder was broken on the dishwasher. The next time the dishwasher stopped working because a fuse blew on the dishwasher. The last time the dishwasher stopped working was in October of 2015. In October I was told that two pumps were not working, the circuit board was replaced, and the control board on the front of the dishwasher was replaced. Today 3/31/16, my husband informed me that there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher again and he cannot get it to turn on. None of the lights light up again and furthermore since the control board is melted he is afraid it is going to burn our house down. We just want it out of our house. I called hhgregg and they are of no help. I did not renew the warranty this time because they wanted $700 to renew the contract. I could purchase a new dishwasher for $700 and believe me, it would never, ever be another KITCHENAID product. I am so very, very disappointed with this product. The repairman told me when he was here in November that because the dishwasher is 5 years old they would only offer us half what we paid for the dishwasher. At this point I do not know if I want another dishwasher. It is only my husband and me. We eat out for dinner almost every night anyway. Why go through this aggravation? What has happened to pride in American workmanship? My husband owns his own business. If his job performance was like this, he would be out of business tomorrow! Shame on you KitchenAid! I trusted in a product I had purchased 25 years ago! My sister-in-law is having the same problems and sadly, I recommended she purchase KitchenAid! I will not be recommending that anyone buy this brand again. We are building a new home and we will be researching appliances before we buy...but it wont be KITCHENAID!

Our side by side (high end) refrigerator stopped working. We called out a reputable service company and after trouble shooting, he determined the main power board was the problem. He traced it down to a built in relay(?). It was a part that could not be replaced. He needed to send it into KitchenAid to be repaired or replaced. In the mean time, the service man found a used one. A couple of weeks later the power board was returned by KitchenAid. The replacement part was no longer available nor were they repairing them! The used power board has a glitch which doesnt show the temp of the fridge on the control panel. At least it is working. My repair man is trying to locate another power board for us as a back up. On 11/18/2010, I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher, 22 12552. This dishwasher has been a nightmare. I purchased extended warranty and thank God I did. We put it in and then it didnt get the dishes clean and wouldnt dry them and it was eating jet dry like it was going out of style. I had several service calls on this problem. Then they replaced it 30 days later. Now, this dishwasher is a piece of **. They have put in 3 different panels of the controls, that all I do is wait from 5 to 12 for them to show up plus I am without a dishwasher for a week till they can come out. Then I have to wait another week for the part to show up. They came out this last time on 7-23-2012 and they left and the problems started all over even though they put in a new panel. I have no idea what your company did to ruin a good dishwasher but this is a piece of **. Now, they tell me this is the fourth time today, 7-25-2012, so they will replace it. Well, I guess my question is, am I going to have the same problems that I had with the other 3 dishwashers they have given me? They are taking my time and all the work to put this in again and again and again. Your company should fix this problem you are having with this dishwasher. I always swore by Sears and Whirlpool and KitchenAid products but I tell you what, I will never do business with Sears and never buy a Whirlpool product either. I realize you dont care. I am only one person but thats really how I feel.

On Monday, January 23rd, 2012, KitchenAid double oven (model number KEBS277SSS04) exploded during its self-clean mode while my 5-year old and I were in the kitchen, showering us with scalding hot glass. Do you know what temperature the glass is when it shoots out of the oven? I called the extended warranty company who tried to deny the claim to fix it. I spent over an hour on the phone just to secure a service appointment. Then I look online and discover that many people are having the same issue with ovens that were purchased about the same time as mine. Consequently, after the oven is repaired it still does not function properly. That is a concern for the safety of my home and my children. Then I contact customer service at KitchenAid. Their response is that they are sorry but Ill have to deal with the extended warranty company. They documented my story and that was it. Clearly there have been other complaints. The lack of response makes the company negligent. Further, they are endangering me, my family and my home if this product that operates at dangerously high temperatures fails or malfunctions again. If KitchenAid as a company are willing to settle with not answering these continued complaints, then you are guilty of being irresponsible with consumer safety.

My KitchenAid dishwasher caught fire caused damage to my home. There was a class action lawsuit with a substantial settlement/compensation to the owners. KitchenAid offered me $100 off MSRP for a new dishwasher. I can purchase a new dishwasher for hundreds off msrp at my local mom and pop store. KitchenAids offer is not only insulting and offensive but also no different to what they offer all their customers with minor complaints. Kitchenaid dishwashers involved in the lawsuit were found to be faulty and downright dangerous as they catch fire and can burn a home down. Had I not been home at the time, my home would have been destroyed and $100 is what they think is appropriate. KitchenAid does not stand by their products nor do they provide support or assistance.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher model KUDS40FVSS (purchased in April 2011) stopped working (no water was being sprayed). We called County TV and Appliance (where we bought it) in Stamford, CT to get the name of an authorized service company. We were initially given Mr. Appliance in Connecticut at (203)-966-8151. They did not bother to call back until we made a third attempt. By the time they finally returned our call, we had made an appointment with J.B. Service located in Trumball, CT. They were supposed to arrive on Monday, Nov 19th between 9-12. They did not show up nor did they bother to call to say they would be unable to make the appointment. We rescheduled the repair work for today (Tuesday, Nov 20th) from 2-4 pm. The service technician arrived at around 3 pm but left not fixing the dishwasher saying that the shaft in the motor that grinds the food is broken and had to be replaced at a cost of around $400. The parts have to be ordered and it will take about three days to arrive. This is great. Thanksgiving is in two days and I have a house full of people arriving! What really bothers me is the diagnosis. The motor that grinds the food is bad. The ironic part is that I am one of those people who washes all the food off of my dishes before I put the dishes in the dishwasher. I really use my dishwasher for sanitation purposes only. So how can a motor that is not used for that purpose suddenly go bad? Furthermore, we had to pay $127.62 for the service call despite the fact that the company did not have the parts available. The technician then told us that only a portion of the service call invoice would be applied to the repair. I find it hard to believe that KitchenAid service can be so poor and that the motor can go bad in such a short time when it is not used for the purpose of grinding food!

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator as part of an appliance package for a new home. We did not want the high-end option, so we were offered this package as an balance between cost and performance. We installed this refrigerator, a KitchenAid microwave, a KitchenAid cooktop and a KitchenAid dishwasher. Of all the four, the refrigerator is the worst. It broke down immediately after the 1-year warranty period ended. I had KitchenAid service people here on three occasions and they changed every computer component (board) in the machine. Each time, the machine would work well for a little while and then it would gradually degrade in performance. Right now, it is not cooling properly and not making ice. The gasket around the freezer is falling off so the freezer door will not close correctly, but the computer does not detect this as an open door for purposes of the alarm. At first, I was pleased to see the America sticker in the door - now I really dont care where my next refrigerator is made as long as it performs better than this very expensive paperweight.

I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. Kitchenaid dishwasher model kude201xwh6 - Oh how I wish that I had searched your website for reviews prior to purchase! My situation sounds much the same as other reviews. The top rack rollers are simply defective. We have replaced ours through service calls and self repair no less than 5 times in the past 4 years. Finally on the last repair the technician completely replaced the roller and rack arms because the factory had recalled the parts. Yet, I wasnt notified of this by the company. My dishwasher had to break down first before the problem was addressed. To me this smacks of covert activity and doesnt promote my loyalty to the company. Additionally our motherboard has been replaced twice... The first replacement was defective. And today Im doing dishes by hand as the control panel is unresponsive again. We purchased the extended warranty - thank goodness, but again using a warranty on what will now be the 8th time a service tech comes to our home is ridiculous!! Worse yet when we talked to the service department, they have only documented three service calls! Whats that about?? In hindsight, I remember there was paperwork to sign on some calls and not on others. So, I cant prove or verify the number of visits through a paper trail. I would suggest always documenting whenever you call regarding your appliance or have a technician enter your home. Writing the dates, times, and contact person on the appliance manual would be an excellent place to store that information. With each service call the response time is getting shorter. Of that I am very thankful, but shame on any company that would have even three warranty service calls on a product! Buying an appliance shouldnt be a gamble; it should be a wise investment. We were thinking that perhaps the dishwasher was just a lemon. An oddity that the company would gladly replace. It does happen that for an unknown reason one will just be bad. Unfortunately, as I read these reviews, I dont see much hope of the situation being rectified to our satisfaction. I will pursue a request for replacement and hope the company will honor my consumer request. It appears their dishwasher line leaves much to be desired. Other review sites indicate that the KitchenAid dishwasher is better passed over for a more reliable brand. It is unfortunate as the dishwasher meets my expectations when it is operational. However, I will report any satisfactory outcomes I encounter through my attempts at recourse.
