In my quest to contact Whirlpool (US), with perseverance, creativity, luck and detective work I received a telephone call from Whirlpool (U.S.) shortly after my initial review. A Whirlpool Executive (Mr. Chastain) was apologetic and took control and personal responsibility of my problem. Mr. Chastain arranged for a technician to service my microwave to my satisfaction and provided me with a full refund for all Whirlpool service charges (parts and labour). While I am grateful to Mr. Chastain for resolving my problem, it would be helpful if Whirlpool included direct telephone #s (not a call center) and legit email addresses on their website for consumer SOS.

I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from hhgregg in January of 2011. I purchased model KUDS30IXSS. I also purchased a 5 year warranty for the dishwasher. The first time I called for service for the dishwasher was for the top rack in the dishwasher. The rack was broken and needed to be replaced. The rack was not covered and I had to pay nearly a $100 for the part. The next time I called for service the pump was broken on the dishwasher. This part was covered by the warranty on the dishwasher. The next time I called for service the grinder was broken on the dishwasher. The next time the dishwasher stopped working because a fuse blew on the dishwasher. The last time the dishwasher stopped working was in October of 2015. In October I was told that two pumps were not working, the circuit board was replaced, and the control board on the front of the dishwasher was replaced. Today 3/31/16, my husband informed me that there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher again and he cannot get it to turn on. None of the lights light up again and furthermore since the control board is melted he is afraid it is going to burn our house down. We just want it out of our house. I called hhgregg and they are of no help. I did not renew the warranty this time because they wanted $700 to renew the contract. I could purchase a new dishwasher for $700 and believe me, it would never, ever be another KITCHENAID product. I am so very, very disappointed with this product. The repairman told me when he was here in November that because the dishwasher is 5 years old they would only offer us half what we paid for the dishwasher. At this point I do not know if I want another dishwasher. It is only my husband and me. We eat out for dinner almost every night anyway. Why go through this aggravation? What has happened to pride in American workmanship? My husband owns his own business. If his job performance was like this, he would be out of business tomorrow! Shame on you KitchenAid! I trusted in a product I had purchased 25 years ago! My sister-in-law is having the same problems and sadly, I recommended she purchase KitchenAid! I will not be recommending that anyone buy this brand again. We are building a new home and we will be researching appliances before we buy...but it wont be KITCHENAID!

We purchased a model home that came with all the kitchen appliances. The appliances were purchased in January 2015. We have live in our new house for a little over a year. I am very disappointed in the Kitchen Aid Side by Side, model KSF26G4XYY03. In the past year, we have had two drawers break in the refrigerator. The face of the drawer came off and plastic on the drawer cracked off. Also, a drawer in the freezer busted where the plastic covers the wheel of the drawer. This is NOT quality construction. I was told by Product Registration in Benton Harbor, MI that only the bins are covered through years 2 - 5...really??? When this refrigerator needs to be replaced, it will not be by a Kitchen Aid.

We purchased our KitchenAid about 8 months ago after owning our Sears side by side for over 20 years. Immediately upon starting the ice maker we noticed that when the ice bin got full, it would not stop trying to fill the cube maker...because it was leaking into the fridge on the left side of the refrigerator. This model is the French Door on bottom, ice, water and measured fill on door. The repairman came and said I needed a gasket which he glued on to the door around the ice bin. This was in the winter and I really did not need the ice maker on so I shut it off. Here it is summer and I have turned it back on.....and it is leaking. I once again have to empty the ice bin twice a day so that it will not leak. PC Richard will continue to repair as long as my warranty is in effect.. What concerns me is that theyre putting band aids on faulty design and I have a problem with that. Anyone out there have any ideas??????? ?

Kitchen Aid Range Model KSEG700ESS3. Our oven was purchased in late Sept 2019 and 7 weeks later, electric panel is fried. The smell and burning had progressed each time we used the oven. We are lucky this did not catch fire. The service person is saying that the part may have been discontinued. Wondering how Whirlpool corporation is going to rectify this as they do not replace appliances, just fix them under warranty.

We have been dedicated KitchenAid fans for two decades. Two years ago, we renovated our kitchen and purchased brand new KitchenAid Stainless Steel Appliances. Within ONE year, the side-by-side refrigerators ice maker motor died. Through the warranty, a new motor was installed. Recently, the Freezer component that generates Freon died. KitchenAid Extended warranty was incompetent and arguable. Finally, after THREE weeks, our freezer was repaired. However, our refrigerator stopped working. KA Extended Warranty offered a repair man in 9-12 days. I cancelled the KA Extended Warranty contract, hired my own appliance doctor, and within 5 hours it was fixed (the previous tech did not plug-in the valve to the refrigerator!). Poor product and even poorer service through the extended warranty.

I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. I will never again get anything made by Whirlpool.

I just bought a KitchenAid Architect Series dishwasher. Previously, I had a 26 year old free standing clunker. Guess what - the new dishwasher doesnt even clean out stains the way the old dishwasher did. Running it on heavy/hot water cycle - stains are still there, food is stuck in the bowl... Youve got to be kidding. This is just junk. My only positive comment is that it is quiet, which is important. However, it has almost no washing action and does not have good jets cleaning the dishes. Dont buy it.

Our 6 year old top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher control panel has gone out again for the third time in two years. The appliance repair company thinks there may be an underlying issue with the wiring harness. KitchenAid/Whirlpool has refused to provide any goodwill support because of the age and told me to buy another one. Really? The last KitchenAid dishwasher I owned lasted almost 20 years. Last year I remodeled my kitchen & all new KitchenAid appliances were installed - to the tune of over $16,000. The 36 single wall oven alone cost over $3000. After I used the clean function (for the first time) - the oven wouldnt heat. They sent out a repairman who fixed it. A few months later, I used the clean function again (for the 2nd time) - same thing happened. And now, 1 month after the warranty expired, its happened again. Same problem all three times & yet after a long call to them today, KitchenAid refused to do anything! In a year, I probably used that oven less than a dozen times. Needless to say, I wont be recommending them to anyone. And btw, the repair service they sent obviously didnt know what they were doing, because as I now know, the problem was never solved.

Purchased the machine almost 3 years ago. It has been a good machine with the exception of the plastic support for the top rack which breaks about every 12 to 14 months. Apparently looking on YouTube this is a common occurrence and not just an isolated incident. The part is $20 plus shipping, but buy 2 and replace the other side at the same time, it will save on inconvenience. I am baffled by dishwashers these days. None seem to last. We bought a KA fridge KSF26C7XYY04 with an extended warranty service plan. Thank goodness! We have had 3 service calls in a 6 month period. The fridge is only 2 years old. The evaporator and ice dispenser motor had to be replaced. I just called again because once again the freezer is not working. I have thrown out food 3 times now. I have a 5-hour service repair window every time the company that services the warranty comes out. Last time the part took so long to come in that I waited for almost 4 weeks to get my fridge fixed. This purchase has been a total nightmare! If we did not have the warranty, KA would not even talk to me. There is zero customer service. I was actually told today that with the internet I should have done my homework by their own customer service! That says it all. Sad state of affairs. I will never buy a KA appliance ever again. Once the warranty runs out and I cant get them to continue to fix this fridge, I will take the loss and buy a new non-KA fridge. This company completely sucks. All 3 drawers on the fridge side are broken. Same issue where the face of the drawer has come off. I had one drawer replaced which broke again. KA wont stand behind their poorly made product. They want me to buy them for $125/drawer. I refuse to spend any more money on this piece of poorly made appliance. I duct tape them! SO sad.

A week later while we were waiting for part as we were using it stopped and showed two errors and water inside the unit. They said it was pump and part was not available though manufacturer. I purchased a new stainless steel range and am happy with it overall. However, the knobs get too hot to touch when the oven is on at a standard temp. This in turn makes my over the range microwave door handle extremely hot also. Having contacted them, I was told since the range is working appropriately (hmm, how would they know; no one came to look at it) there is nothing they can do. I brought up the fact that that is a safety hazard IMHO. Since I have children and just touching the knobs makes me flinch my hand back. Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife
Dear FOLKS, please read this review. WE FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION!! My wife and I remodeled our upscale homes kitchen 2+ years ago. Granite, all brand new top of the line Kitchenaid appliances. We wanted to buy American, since I have had a 35 year + career in US based manufacturing sales. Well, the KFIS29PBMS refrigerator was unbearably loud from day 1. We had 4 warranty calls right off the bat. They replaced the DC fan motor, the compressor and some icemaker components. This did nothing to relieve the very loud whiny electrical motor sound that was on almost constantly. This took us to the end of our 1 year mfg warranty. We called Kitchenaid several times and they basically showed us their corporate middle finger. They suggested we purchase the extended warranty, which was several hundred $ more! No way, we are not that stupid or foolish. 5 different factory authorized service people visited us. By luck, or I think, Gods grace, repairman #5, who had 18 years as a tech rep, finally solved the issue. The problem was the sealed refrigerant system had a leak. The compressor was kicking into the highest gear (hence the loudest noise level) to try and keep the freezer & refrigerator cool. Our bottom drawer freezers coldest temp was at 20 degrees, when it should have been 0 degrees. The icemaker requires 15 degrees to make ice. It could not do this since 15 degrees was colder than the freezer temp, and the icemaker is located in the refrigerator section! The sealed system has a 10-year warranty, so the final repair cost $0!! Our refrigerator is now very quiet, much to our delight. There were times when we could not deal with sitting at our kitchen table. So, justice was finally done. Call your factory authorized repair people and make them check the temps in the freezer. Kitchenaid needs to stand behind their substandard products. The repair people advised us that Kitchenaid will no longer pay for warranty calls based on noise. If their customers make them replace the expensive sealed refrigerant system enough, perhaps they will spend the extra $ to install better quality units from better quality suppliers. I was told by every tech rep that the quality of todays appliances have deteriorated significantly in recent years. The big companies wants your $, but dont care if they send you bad products. Thank you, I hope this helps many people.

When my microwave was serviced by Prather Services, in Lexington,KY, it was discovered by the technician, that there were cigarette ashes inside the top of the microwave. Also, there was a nut driver found inside the microwave (I have photos). The microwave was operating well, except the door needed new springs. Prather Services took my microwave back to their shop for several months, then returned it, and it did not work at all. They indicated that it worked great in the shop, but now it didnt. They then have tried to make me pay for it. I ask about the unsanitary health issue with ashes in my microwave, and they said they contacted Kitchen Aid. They indicated that Kitchen Aid was going to do nothing about it. I have been without a microwave for more than a year. The Model of the microwave is KBMC140HSS03,serial #XR1601613. I have emailed Kitchen Aid direct, and they have refused to contact me about this unhealthy issue. Prather Services technician was very alarmed that our family had been using this appliance for preparing food, for at least three years, with the cigarette ashes inside that came from the factory.

The dishwasher functioned marginally for about a year and then got worse. Theoretically, it works, so it cannot be fixed. It runs through the cycle normally, but the dishes do not come out clean. Stainless steel French Door Refrigerator with bottom freezer - Purchased April 2013. Has had several service calls. Freezes food in the refrigerator compartment (eggs, V8 tomato juice, fruit). Raised the inside temp from 39 to 41. No difference. Repairman came out and did nothing. Told us raising the temp was the problem. Deli drawer broke. Cheap plastic that lasted 18 months. Constantly leaks water underneath. Warped the new cabinet that was built in around the unit. Freezer does a defrost everyday and fills the space beneath the freezer draw with water. Once it freezes solid (every day), the extra water leak through the door seal underneath the unit to do its damage to the wood cabinet. To save myself frustration, once I figured out where the water was coming from, I was able to chip the frozen ice under the freezer drawer out. Not convenient, but it saves the cabinet. Do yourself a favor...... dont buy it. It was drain you of patience and money.

We bought the new pieces for the racks, but the racks still did not hold and were slanted. Now the motor has burnt out. I called KitchenAid, they said all parts are under warranty. The repair guy came here, quoted $109 to come in, $200 for the motor, and $150 for labor, saying the motor is not under warranty. I paid him and threw him out of the house. Easiest $109 he ever made for the 3 minutes he was here. I called KitchenAid and asked why the motor was not covered. They told me only the computer and the racks themselves are covered. No problems as of yet in the 3 years we have had the microwave. It is stainless steel and looks pretty. The only slight improvement I would make, is it would be nice to have a flatter looking front. It reminds me of a spaceship with the way it bows out from the door front. But I do like that underneath it is angled up towards the front, so it allows for more working space on the stove top that it sits over. Over all I am really pleased with the purchase.

When I updated my kitchen I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher in 2007 and it was installed in 2008. It was serviced once under warranty... smoke coming out of the hood. Since then I have had it repaired twice. Once for the chopper not working correctly. It took the service rep five minutes to fix it and he was embarrassed that he charged me more than $100.00 to fix it. The service advisor was recommended by KitchenAid. Since then I have had to replace the silverware dispenser and now I have to replace the soap dispenser because a piece of plastic no bigger than 1/4 of an inch broke off. The part was 68.00 with shipping 86.00... ripoff... and now I have to pay a repairman to install it. ALL over this piece of plastic. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again.... and hope that lots of consumers read this and follow my advice.

Did you know KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool which includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana, Kitchen Aid... Pretty much all the heavy hitters from the US fall under the Whirlpool umbrella now. Just keep that in mind as read through all of these disappointing posts about quality, service and general safety. I, like many, replaced my entire kitchen with what I believed was the TOP quality KitchenAid appliances. I bought the KEMS308SSS05 which is a Micro/Convection oven combination. Its failed now 5 times since I purchased new in 2012. I am 4 months outside of the 2 year warranty but the first problems (for which theyve never corrected because it continues to happen) started with the first 90 days.I get sometimes there are lemons at ANY company, we are humans and were not perfect, but a company when realizing their faults need to step up and cure the deficiencies. Thats the difference between an average company and a great company, and sadly whirlpool seems no longer to be or even want to be a great company.

Update - In my November 5 complaint, I reported ice freezing on the floor of my KitchenAid freezer followed by water on the floor in front of the freezer after the freezer floor depression filled up. In another customer review with the same problem, the culprit turned out to be a duck-billed grommet and it was the same solution to my problem. What mystified me about my problem was that I could find no drain in the bottom of my unit that would have the duck-billed grommet attached to it that was prone to freeze up and stop the draining. It turns out the culprit is not in the bottom of the freezer, but several inches up and behind the back panel of the freezer. Our responding technician was very well versed regarding our problem and had the fridge fixed in about a half hour. This was no job for a reasonably competent homeowner to take on as it required a lot of dismantling, ice-chipping and hot water to fix before a new, improved grommet could be installed, which by itself took about 30 seconds to install from around behind the refrigerator. It seems that maybe more than a few of my model refrigerators were shipped with a defective grommet that has since been upgraded, so maybe complaints such as mine will become a thing of the past. At any rate, our fridge seems to be humming along just fine now. Thank you, KitchenAid telephone person, for setting up a service call that seems to have solved our problem.

I purchased an existing house with a KitchenAid Superba stove/cooktop and microwave combo. Everything worked fine for 6 months until I got the crazy idea to use the self-cleaning mode. The oven no longer heats now. I tested the heating elements and they are both fine. I found out that it is most likely the thermal shutdown fuse, a part that runs about $45-$50 online. I can do the replacement myself but as many others have said, I wont use the self-cleaning mode again. For those who cannot afford the cost for a service call, its a pretty easy part to replace - if in fact that is all that went bad during the self-clean. After reading the hundreds of the same complaints out there, I guess I feel lucky that my oven didnt literally explode and possibly hurt my 3 year old. I would be willing to join in a lawsuit, should a lawyer out there be interested.

Our compressor is broken on our refrigerator. The tech who came to repair it said the problem is that its a faulty compressor. This happens frequently, he said, and the company that made the faulty compressors that used to go into KitchenAid refrigerators went out of business a few years ago. One would think that if KitchenAid was using a part that it knew to be faulty it could at least give a discount on parts and/or labor when the part fails. Considering the cost of refrigerators today, its very disappointing that KitchenAid would allow customers to be charged an arm and a leg to replace a sub-par part.

KitchenAid sent Diamond Factory Service to take a look at it. The guy was in my kitchen less than 10 minutes and told me that the control board has failed and KitchenAid does not have spare parts for fixing the control board. He charged me $90 dollars and left. I am now left with this useless built in refrigerator and I have no hope that KitchenAid will help me in any way. I WILL NEVER buy another KitchenAid product.

My KitchenAid Superba convection oven was self-cleaned for only the first or second time last night (bought in 2003) and now it will not heat up. I followed the instructions exactly, and the self-clean feature worked fine. Now, all of the electronic controls work, but apparently the thermostat burned out. I have read scores of complaints about this same issue, yet KitchenAid is not admitting a problem nor paying for the repair. Ridiculous.

I too have the issue of an extremely foul odor coming from my dishwasher since day one (Ive had it less than a year). I have had 3 service calls per Sears. They have all told me the usual, clean with certain products, run a cycle with vinegar and baking soda, it must be my garbage disposal etc... nothing worked. I finally called KitchenAid directly. They sent one of their service people out to inspect the machine today. He explained that the machine was built without a vent fan. I was not aware that dishwashers had vent fans, but I am also not an appliance mechanic. He said that I need to leave the door open and run a cycle of vinegar through after each use. So, I need to use double the water and double the electricity to get one load of dishes done. Not to mention, trip over the open door each time I walk into my kitchen. My questions is... if there is no proper ventilation then I have to assume that mold and bacteria will ultimately become a problem (if not already). Why has no one from KitchenAid thought about this? Ultimately, this is a potential health hazard. All this time I think my dishes are clean when in fact I am just washing them within a dishwasher full of nasty things that can potentially make my family sick. Im glad I dont have infants anymore. Can you imagine sterilizing baby bottles in this piece of crap?! I am still working with KitchenAid to resolve the problem. We will see how this goes. I can say for sure that Sears has been awful, no help whatsoever. Customer service very very rude. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears, and after reading all the horrible reviews, I will never buy another KitchenAid. I am also having issues with the top rack. I have to hold it in while I load the bottom rack. Very inconvenient.Updated 5/30/2016: Just an update to my previous (5/24/2016) post. As I feared, KitchenAid customer service has been no more helpful than Sears customer service. I was told that theres nothing that can be done about the foul smell in my dishwasher. I have been committed to having a piece of crap dishwasher. In the meantime, I am writing letters to the CEO of Whirlpool as well as all the board and committee members. Perhaps if others do the same, one of our letters will end up in the hands of someone who cares. If you do a Google search of CEO of Whirlpool, the leadership page for Whirlpool will come up. On this page are the names of Whirlpool administration; including Jeff Fettig CEO. The address: Whirlpool Headquarters 2000 N M-63 Benton MI 49022-2692.

We purchased a Kitchen Aid Refrigerator (Model KRFF507ESS, 27 cu. ft, French door with ice/water machine) and in the 4 years weve had it, weve spent almost 50% of the purchase price (close to $1300) on repairs. This model has a documented problem with the frozen fresh food evaporator - Google the issue and youll find numerous customer complaints about this very issue. Most recently, the ice maker stopped working and we were told itd be an additional $455 of repair. The authorized service repairman in our area (whom weve gotten to know due to the ongoing repair issues) even commented during this most recent visit that the KitchenAid models hes serviced last, on average, 8 years. When I explained the situation to KitchenAid Customer Service this afternoon, they offered to schedule a non-warranty service for me (i.e., something I could literally do by picking up the phone myself). After being transferred to a KitchenAid supervisor, I was then told that theyd offer me a 40% discount off a brand new product. After spending almost $1300 on a $2600 refrigerator! AS IF. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. We thought we were purchasing a quality product and its been nothing but a lemon, requiring costly repair after costly repair. We take impeccable care of all appliances/products, which is what made this situation all the more frustrating. Folks, be sure you purchase those extended warranties! You will need them with your KitchenAid refrigerator!!!!

We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

Your warranty doesnt tell you when they will replace fridge. I was told 21 days then whenever serviceman will say it is beyond repair. This brand name doesnt stand for quality or consumer satisfaction. Still waiting for parts and no guarantee when it will be fixed or replaced.

I had a similar experience with the interior. I ordered from a major online retailer (delivery was quick and professional). However, while I ordered installation, the delivery team informed me they could not install a wall oven. So, I had to look around for someone to install, and then wait until they could come out. This took about a month. While I inspected the unit upon delivery, and all looked great, I made the mistake of keeping the oven racks in. After installation, I pulled out the cardboard strips that kept the racks from damaging the interior during shipping, to discover one was covering a quarter-sized chip. Brand new, never used oven. KitchenAid just said sorry, its beyond the 30 day warranty, and it is not covered by the 1 year warranty as they consider it cosmetic. I turned it on for the first time today, and it started smoking horribly (yes, I have removed everything from the interior, including the yellow plastic feet from the bottom rack). I also ordered the glass downdraft KECD807XBL01 cooktop (both items replaced 30 year old JennAirs) directly from Whirlpool and the blower does not even come on at all. But, at least that is within 30 days, so they are sending someone to repair it next week. Well see, but I doubt it will sway my view that I am done with KitchenAid.

We have a 42 KitchenAid refrigerator and have had the Tech out 3 times for repair. We were told by the technician that the fan motor had shorted out and caused the main control board and another fan to go out. So 748.00 dollars later, we still have no refrigerator working and this is after the Tech removed the board and the fans and said the board is not being made and so it has to be sent out and rebuilt...should be 2 weeks. They would ship the product to us and then we call them and set up another appointment. When the 3 items came couple of weeks later, the one fan that was a heavy metal blade is now being replaced with a thin...black plastic one. Note: when Tech opened the box, the fan was broken…one blade completely broken off and 2 other blades were cracked…Now mind you, a kid’s plastic toy can be thrown, dropped, kick and abused by the kids and not break, but this fan got all this damage just being shipped to us and this is supposed to run and operate my 9000.00 refrigerator?? The Tech said, “Well they changed to plastic because it is lighter. Are you kidding me? Lighter? Are we going to carry this refrigerator around? No, it’s cheaper...and also a piece of junk...not even a heavy plastic. If it cant survive shipping, I have to wonder how it will run my refrigerator. Now the Tech puts all the parts in and tells us that will be 748.00+ and also we can buy a warranty to protect us from other repairs for 210.00…Did it and he left. 3 hours later, I decided to check it to see if I could start putting my foods in and if it was cold enough...Not working...flashing lights on the panel...from 60 to 30 and no ice maker working either. I called them back ASAP...they said we will make another appointment for you...Are you kidding? Send back the Tech. After much discussion with the service people, they came back 4 days later...Tech says board is no good...has to be sent back to where it was re-built and he (Tech) spends most of the time on the phone with someone...telling him what to do (I guess). He states he has been with the company for 31 years but both times he is on the phone with someone most of the time. So now we are supposed to get the board back in a couple of weeks...and then call them again to have it installed. Meanwhile, they have received 748.00 plus 210.00 for the service warranty and I have nothing...no refrigerator for over a month. This is unreal…like the product does not have enough problems...they change out the metal parts for these thin piece of crap plastic and control boards being shipped out to the customer without being tested to see if they were rebuilt right before they send it out to be installed. So I lose all our food and pay for a rental fridge while this mess is still going on...Service and Quality...RIGHT...I dont think these Techs know what they are doing or why would they need to spend most of the time on the phone with whomever it is they are having walk them through this service...

I went to the Lowes where we bought it and the new design is steel ball bearings - much better. But that leaves me and my family in the lurch with an $800 dishwasher that needs an upper rack every 2 years. My top of the line, three year old, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator
My top of the line, three year old, stainless steel KitchenAid refrigerator stopped cooling. Main circuit board is defective. Exactly like Ians review, I was told directly by a supervisor that no replacement boards have been made since the tsunami. In over two years, KitchenAid has not obtained a US based company to make these replacement boards. They have to be mailed to a company that rebuilds the boards and it takes at least two weeks before the repaired board is returned. This is the worst and most shameful business practice I have ever heard of from a world wide company. I have the KitchenAid Extended Warranty, but a loaner is NOT part of your KitchenAid warranty. And you are supposed to be perfectly happy going without a refrigerator for over two weeks. I purchased the KitchenAid built in wall oven, convection oven/microwave combo at the same time, along with a top of the line KitchenAid dishwasher. After spending more than $8000 on this suite, I cant wait for the non-existent circuit boards to go out on these other appliances. My husband wanted to buy the Samsung refrigerator, but I insisted on buying American made since the US was in the middle of the Great Recession. I will be spending my money on Korean appliances from now on, now that I have learned that KitchenAid has knowingly left all of their appliance customers without a source for new, replacement circuit boards. Heres a suggestion KitchenAid... Jabil Circuit, a gigantic, world wide circuit board company is based right here in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I live. If you cared one bit about your customers or your reputation, you would have them or one of the dozens of other companies in the US that manufacture the same things, supply you with new replacement boards. Yours is a shameful business model. I am done with KitchenAid.

Ive had more issues with this dishwasher due to its design flaws than any other appliance Ive owned.Design Fault #1: Attach for wheels for the upper rack are weak and regularly break with normal use. Ive had this happen 3 times so far and no amount of gentle use or babying will keep these from breaking over time. The design flaw is the thinness of the plastic used to hold these on. If you dont want to replace these, you can sacrifice some ease of mobility and use a wire twisty tie to reattach the wheel to the rack. It makes it harder to pull in or out, but at least its attached.Design Fault #2: Upon my wife complaining that it wasnt cleaning well, I found that the chopper had broken off from the shaft. No idea why, Ive seen others say that it is a design flaw and that over time it hits the housing enough to break the plastic. I cant say why it broke as I saw nothing in the housing that would have caused it to break off.Customer Service Issue: My wife called them and they told her only the rack itself is covered by the warranty and not the attached components. I called them and asked them if a hypothetical customer were to buy the dishwasher and it came without the upper dish rack, whether they would simply send the rack bare without any of the supporting components. She sheepishly told me they would and I told her that was ridiculous and I needed to talk to a supervisor. Upon returning after a hold she told me shed send me the parts under a one-time goodwill gesture from the company. So I had them send me 3x of the wheels and 1x of the chopper for the parts that had broken to-date. Ill hold these in reserve for when these items break again. Its simply ridiculous that they dont either fix the design flaw or cover the part as part of the warranty. I think they have to be aware of the design flaw otherwise they wouldnt explicitly refuse to cover it when you call.

11 months into the purchase of our KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer, water started leaking onto our NEW hardwood floor, from the bottom of the freezer. Because of how new this was and no VISIBLE problem, we assumed it was an ice cube that dropped out, or something from the filtered water spout on the fridge. At 12 months, we investigated further and noticed the ice build up on the bottom of the freezer. The water was coming from here. The warranty on this had expired, of course. But, who could imagine that a pricey refrigerator such as this would only last 1 year? We got this repaired at our expense thru a certified dealer, so any other warranty would still be valid.Well after keeping careful watch on the bottom of the freezer, and scraping ice when we could, we have the very same problem again, a little more than 1 year later. Thick ice now, and of course water coming from the bottom. It seems this problem is systemic to the design of this product. This is not satisfactory to the consumer!!!

We purchased a new refrigerator 2 weeks ago. The first one that was delivered was defective and after sending out a repair crew that could not fix it, it was replaced with a second defective refrigerator. After spending hours on the phone, KitchenAid sent out a repair company that stated the entire compressor and coils needed to be replaced and compared it to a new car needing a brand new engine and suggested having KitchenAid deliver us a new refrigerator. We requested that KitchenAid either deliver a brand new working refrigerator or pick up the defective one and refund us our money so we can buy another refrigerator elsewhere. KitchenAid refused and told us they just cant help us even though the refrigerator never worked from day 1 and is under warranty for 30 days. We spent a lot of money for a brand new refrigerator and do not want a rebuilt model when we paid for a new one. We have been without a refrigerator for 2 weeks now, have spent numerous hours taking off from work waiting for delivery and repair people and KitchenAid is not willing to assist us or even offered us any kind of concessions to make this situation right. I purchased my KitchenAid French door fridge (Model # KFCS22EVWH2) new in Jan. of 2012. It is now September 2012 and I have a river flowing out of the bottom of my fridge. I have hardwood floors and the water is destroying them. I called Customer Service and a repairman came today. He explained that he reports this problem every day to KitchenAid. Apparently there is a small hole at the back of the freezer that allows condensation to drip into a pan under the freezer. When that hole becomes plugged, the water does not drain and creates an ice dam. When my kitchen heats up from weather or cooking, the ice melts and flows out of the freezer onto my floor. The only way to fix it is to unplug the fridge, let it defrost for 2 days and then plug it back in. Well, that does not fly with me. My husband and I are handicapped and we cannot go through this process every six months to save our floor. This is ridiculous. I called the company back and was told that this is new to them (right!) and they are sending another repair person in tomorrow. I dont know how this will turn out but I do know that I am not very happy right now. Can I trust the person tomorrow to tell me the truth? If he does get it to work, will the problem return after the warranty is up? Who fixes my floor? In all fairness to KitchenAid, I will post the results of tomorrows visit and a follow-up in a few months. I am in hopes that they will take care of this for me without a problem. I purchased a dishwasher and stove at the same time (also KitchenAid) so I hope that this is isolated and not an across-the-board disaster.

My question is, why have they not recalled the plastic piece that is supposed to put the ice in the glass? If I had been able to try it out in the store, I certainly would not have bought this model. I really hope that Whirlpool will stand behind what they sell and recall this plastic piece and replace it with one that will do the job. If I do not receive some satisfaction on this matter, then I will contact the Better Business Bureau.

This cleaning technology is a complete joke. KitchenAid/Whirpool solution is to buy their cleaning kit a sponge and a plastic scraper. Food is caked on the inside and does not come off. You cant use any chemical cleaners either so youre looking at a 2-hour cleaning job to maybe get this oven clean. Im shocked that they are still selling ovens with this bogus technology. After running the cycle multiple times some of whats on the bottom comes off after some scrubbing but the sides are still filthy. KitchenAid and Whirlpool need to do a recall and buy all these garbage ovens back from consumers. I paid $2k for my oven and after calling to complain to KitchenAid they had the nerve to tell me a tech could come out but if they decided the oven was working as designed, I would be charged. As designed - so does that mean they know it doesnt work and they come out and say yep, its not working - as designed that will be $150 please. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again!!

Purchased full compliment of appliances for new home having equipped former home with KitchenAid. Cant express how disgusted I am with current kitchen. Refrigerator doors are uneven despite repair visit to adjust. Oven fan doesnt turn off. Within first year dishwasher delay start function stopped working. Total junk. Purchased cabriolet laundry appliances (KitchenAid is parent company) and tub of drier cracked and had to replace in 13th month. They let me buy a one year extended warranty for $200+. Whoopee.

My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we were building in late December 1997. In the first cleaning of the double-wall oven, it locked up; and we had to have the service man from Sears come out and fix it. Since that time, I have had some trouble with the touch pad working and then not working. About 2 weeks ago, I called Sears; and they sent a repair man out to fix this problem. He informed me that the part for my Superba KitchenAid double-wall oven had been discontinued and that I had probably paid $2,700.00 for this oven. Much to my amazement, because we purchased so many kitchen appliances, I had no idea we had paid this price. Nonetheless, he informed me he had other customers whom he had tried to get parts for and gave me very little hope of ever finding the part to repair this oven. So I called KitchenAid and was told it had been discontinued and hopes of finding part number 4451292 was going to be very unlikely. I proceeded to get onto the internet on Ask.com and found a repair site. I did some research and found it has been discontinued and that they dont have any idea of anywhere to get this control pad fixed or purchased. I feel that, after reading all the other complaints on these same malfunctions, there should be some kind of enforcement that KitchenAid or Sears should have warned the public at the time of purchase as to the approximate time you have to get parts for such expensive items. My oven is almost new inside and out. I and my husband (who is now deceased) worked out on the road for many years, and use of this oven was very limited due to us always being gone out on the road. The bottom oven has been used maybe 3 times, and the top oven has not been used hardly at all, compared to my KitchenAid microwave, which we both used all the time.when we were home. My guess would be that it would about compare a thousand or more to one. The touch pad on my microwave is still doing super. After viewing all the complaints on this model number KEBS277DWH1, part number 4451292, and the issues all of us are having with these ovens, I would hope that someone would stand up for us in a class action lawsuit. These products are very expensive, and nobody is helping the consumers on this product problem. Please someone stick up for all of us who need someone who can make this company responsible for such inadequate products. As of today, I have no ovens to cook Easter dinner in, because nobody has a part to repair this. And I am a widow and havent the money ($3,500.00) to buy another one. This is what repair.com wants for another one. Im very dissatisfied and angry with the outcome of all the work and research done and to get nowhere. Help!

We purchased four KitchenAid items for our kitchen to receive a $600 rebate. Our reseller showed us the KitchenAid screen where all items were available for deliver in less than 30 days. This was a condition of our purchase. That was 04/01/2021. They delivered our oven and microwave and dishwasher. They never delivered our refridge nor wine cooler. They now claim end of the year. Our sales rep indicates maybe even later since the manufacturer reps come and go and KitchenAid changes its mind on deliveries. I called them and asked if we could pay a little more and pick them up IN STOCK at Best Buy and still get our $600 rebate. They refused. They are making us wait for an unreliable delivery date. They misrepresented the purchase. I saw the manufactures computer screen that said they would deliver. DO NOT BUY from whirlpool or KitchenAid since they will rob from you and not give you any rebates. In addition, they will not live up to their delivery dates even on their own computer system.

I purchased new KA 5 burner gas range, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwas
I purchased new KA 5 burner gas range, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwasher in 2013. All stainless steel appliances. Did this purchased as I owned Whirlpool or Kitchen Aid appliances all my life. (Yes, Im over 60). The new appliances are just scrap. It took 4 refrigerators to get one that either wasnt damaged or the compressor was not froze up upon delivery. 4th one, door didnt close right upon delivery. We will take it back and get you a different one. NO! Im not waiting another 10 days for a new one. Youll fix this one. 5 days later they arrived with part. Good thing its under warranty guy says. They dont make a hinge. You replace the entire door for $500. Im thinking exactly what did I purchase here. Then I went to self-clean the oven. It had 2 spots where some cheese dripped off a pizza. Clean it off with damp cloth. Wiped it down with dry towel. Started clean cycle. When it was completed, the oven finish was either pitted or gone. I called KA. Response was, if you put foil on oven floor, that will happen. First off, I dont use foil on oven floor. Second, if I did, I wouldnt need to self clean the oven! DUH! They told me to call a servicer in the area. He says yep, some of them do that, the new floor panel is $67+. (I dont remember how many cents). So I called KA again. So I need to pay for this? Yes sir. But its only 2 months old. Its not covered sir. Listen, Im over 60 yrs old. I have owned Whirlpool/ KA forever. Never saw an oven do this. If it is that unreliable of a coating, just what chemical is it putting into our food? What happened to good quality porcelain? I dont know sir. I wrote Whirlpool an email. Explained this whole thing to them. Never did get a reply.I guess when a corporation does sales of $20 billion a year, you dont care about your customers or the product you turn out. At this point they are selling scrap on a reputation they used to have. Problem is, selling scrap products on a great reputation, catches up. With all the companies produced under the Whirlpool name, you need to research, and go to another separate, independent company from Whirlpool. I will never buy KA again, or Whirlpool. Their customer service just is bad. Nothing like it used to be.

My 7 year old KitchenAid dishwasher has quit working. After the first 2 years, I had to purchase the silverware caddy because the PLASTIC in the bottom of the silverware caddy had pieces broken and silverware was falling through. Then about a year later, PLASTIC brackets on the top rack broke. Replaced those. Now, the PLASTIC door is broken where the screw should be, and the touch panel is not working. JUNK! I once had a Maytag that I ran two times a day & never had to replace a single part on it, and it ran for 12 years!

During a dinner party the week before Christmas, the oven door exploded in my 2 month old, second use of Superba model #KEB-277, which original cost is nearly $2,500. It took me being a proactive consumer, spending about 1/2 hour a day for 6 weeks for the final repair to take place. The first warranty repair company just did not show up for an appointment. Finally, it took to making two appointments with different companies just to make sure someone showed up to look at the problem. Second company was wonderful - however, it still took me being involved with KitchenAid Safety Division”, their customer service and HHGregg (who told me it wasnt their problem since the 30 day warranty had expired! ), to finally get pieces to repair the door.Since neither KitchenAid nor HHGregg saw any need to replace a defective product, I insisted on all 2 new pieces of glass, a new steel shell that had been dented with the explosion, and all new racks. The problem is behind me, but I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance nor buy any product at HHGregg.

We have a (just barely) 3 year old KitchenAid refrigerator/freezer that has been very troublesome. First the ice maker was replaced; then the entire front door of the freezer had to be replaced because it had NO insulation; and now the top shelf in the freezer just exploded as I opened the door. There were only 4 small items on the exploding shelf so it was not too full. When I call the customer service number I waited over 20 minutes to speak with a real person who took down info and then transferred me to another person for whom I had to wait another 10 minutes. I explained that it was like a shot -- a boom sound and then tons of small pieces of tempered glass all over me, my kitchen, and into the adjoining office area next to the kitchen. KitchenAid response was that these things can happen -- seriously??? Waiting to receive a replacement shelf and waiting for a supervisor with customer relations skills to call me back.

I bought a brand new KitchenAid dishwasher less than two years ago and have been extremely unhappy with it! Model #KDTE334DSSO. My 17 year old dishwasher cleaned the dishes better than this one. I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. The plates fall down in the dishwasher (I recommend taking plates and trying them before you purchase any dishwasher) and now I have all of these little rust looking spots all over the front - which naturally is not covered under the extended warranty!! Terrible appliance!!!

Two years ago I bought what I thought was a beautiful new refrigerator (Model KFFS20EYMS01). It was a lot of money for a teacher. However I was excited to replace my 20 year old Whirlpool. What a dumb mistake. I thought Id done my research but apparently not. Six months after the warranty had worn out the machine began to over chill and making a racket of noise. After jumping through hoops and many many angry phone calls to KitchenAid and their repair contractors they agreed to pay for the repair. But it didnt fix the problem. This went on for two months. It was a nightmare. Now a year later, again the machine is building up ice. Do not buy a KitchenAid. I will never again.

We purchased a rather expensive KitchenAid refrigerator-freezer, model KSF2
We purchased a rather expensive KitchenAid refrigerator-freezer, model KSF26C7XYY04, one with a computerized, electronic control system located on outside of the freezer door. What we have found is that the ice maker inexplicably quits working and then equally inexplicably starts working again---days later. Two calls to the store where the unit was purchased (Lowes) resulted in two different technicians coming out to fix the problem. The first technician replaced the computerized electronic control unit. This did not solve the problem. The second technician had no lasting success either, even confirming that the temperature control settings were at the factory recommended levels. With the problem still continuing, we phoned KitchenAid and were eventually transferred back to Lowes. The only solution offered was to have still another technician come out to fix the problem (at our expense). A return chat contact with KitchenAid produced the same results. What is disappointing is the extent to which KitchenAid refuses to accept responsibility for a design/manufacture flaw in their product and the futility of their so-called solutions. Why would anyone pay for a third technician to address the same problem when two others couldnt? Is the third technician (reportedly more of a KitchenAid authorized technician) an admission that the first two that Lowes sent out were something less than competent? Why wasnt a KitchenAid authorized technician sent out the first time? I was asked if I purchased an extended warranty. What good is an extended warranty, if the same problem cant be fixed under the first warranty period? We need better products and better solutions.

We have had lesser problems with the electronic system malfunctioning in the past but this episode nearly cost us our home. There have been many reports of this malfunction but KitchenAid has not put out a warning to consumers, much less tried to correct it. Sent repairman, replaced control unit, then replaced motor assembly, then came and said they tested and everything was ok. Turned on machine and it was whirring loudly and repairman said sounds normal. Called KitchenAid to complain as well as Home Depot. Depot said not their problem but connected us to KitchenAid as they didnt answer the two calls I made and left messages. I wont bore you with any more details except to tell you to stay away from this brand and the parent company Whirlpool. Horrible customer service and worse product. I purchased microwave/hood combo in October 2010, installed November 2010. Unit no longer heats as of mid December 2011. I did not want microwave in the way for holidays so I contacted them in January. The second service call, I was informed element inside turntable had melted. After several more service calls, six all together, my unit has been on my dining room table for almost three months. Repeated calls to Whirlpool/KitchenAid have gotten me nowhere. I maintained that if part of the turntable melted, unit must be defective. I now have to pay $315 to get the unit replaced. They have no concern that I missed work on numerous occasions for failed service calls or that I paid for initial service call. If product is defective, it should be replaced without further cost to me.

KSF22C4cYY01 - Purchased a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator in October 2014 from Lowes. Thinking that this refrigerator though a little higher price, it would be a better refrigerator. I was wrong! Shortly after purchase I noticed water freezing in the bottom of freezer. Had a repairman with warranty company come out to fix it. Also had a bad taste in the water that took over a month to clear up. Then the ice maker stopped working. Had the same repairman out. He was unable to repair said it needed a new ice basket. They had to order it. Several weeks went by. I called to find out that they could not find part needed, therefore the refrigerator needed to be exchanged. This has been ongoing for four months and I have yet to talk to the correct person for the exchange. Every time I call I am put on hold for a long time and then told someone will call me back and they never do. I am so disappointed with KitchenAid! I will not buy their product again.

We purchased a KitchenAid side by side refrigerator in 2007. It recently began having problems keeping the freezer temperature constant. A repair company came out and indicated that the problem was that we need a new main contact (part number W10219463) but KitchenAid (manufactured by Whirlpool) has discontinued the part. So, we are told we need a new refrigerator. Aside from the fact that it is environmentally irresponsible for refrigerators to have the shelf life of a disposable cell phone, thus resulting in landfills being filled with major appliances built to fail and be discarded rather than repaired, it is also outrageous for a company to discontinue parts in this way. I tried to contact the company using their website, but the system would not accept my message (the website seems to work as well as my refrigerator). I sat on hold on their corporate consumer line for 45 minutes but never got through to a person. I highly recommend that people avoid purchasing any refrigerator manufactured by Whirlpool (which manufactures KitchenAid, JennAir and Whirlpool refrigerators). It likely wont last and it wont be repairable.

We had remodeled our kitchen and bought all the appliances through hhgregg (which is another story). We bought the KitchenAid Architect Series II and have had an issue with the oven making clicking and whooshing noises every 55 seconds. It is the sound of the pilot light igniting in the oven. I have never heard this noise before with my old oven or anyone else for that matter. When we have the oven on, the noise is so loud and annoying! I put in a complaint to KitchenAid, but they told me that that was a normal sound. They sent a repairman out and he also said that that was a normal sound! Who has ever heard a loud ignition in their oven every 55 seconds? The customer service is horrible and the product stinks! Ill never buy from them again. Ill pay more next time and get the Jenny Air appliances. I had them for 18 years and never had a problem! How disappointing! We are stuck with a shabby appliance! Shame on KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I too purchased a KitchenAid microwave convection hood combo. From the beginning the venting fan did not work well. Repairman did what he could to improve it but told me that it was designed primarily as a microwave and the hood function was secondary. This was covered under warranty. After warranty was up, the handle to open the door broke off at the bottom screw. This was because it is screwed into plastic on the inside of the door, and every time you pull the door open it strains this attachment. So the plastic broke. I was able to attach a metal strip inside and rescrew the handle in, reinforced by this metal strip. However each opening and closing puts strain on the rest of the plastic inner door that gets latched to the unit. The entire inner door plastic is now coming loose which causes faulty connections in the buttons on the outer door. So sometimes they do not work at all when you press on them. I have temporarily reinforced the inner plastic with superglue and electrical tape to hold it in place. But I have no idea how long this will last before I end up needing a whole new door. I should not have to superglue plastic parts in a $700 microwave!

We spent $6000.00 for a built-in side by side 48 inches refrigerator. Nothing but trouble with the ice machine. First, it froze up soon after purchase. They sent a appliance person out. He said just break up the ice. How stupid was that? The next appliance person, the water is leaking into the motor of the ice dispenser freezing it up. When exposed, you could see all the frozen ice. A lot of it. No wonder the motor wont work, it was frozen up. When the new part came, it had a new part with it. This rubber washer was to stop the water from going into the motor and freezing it again. Now these motors are not cheap. So this was a design flaw. Here we go again: same problem even with the new rubber washer. It’s frozen up solid. It makes a lot of ice you just can’t get it out of the dispenser. I am sure there are a lot of people that have this same problem. This started before the warranty was out. This is a two years and 9 months appliance. There’s trouble with the ice maker all the time. They just tell you your warranty is out even though they made a flaw in the ice machine design.

Email to Trail Appliance: I meant to email you earlier but weve been away. All appliances are in and look great. Were just wondering though if a support might be missing from the fridge. Ive attached a couple of pictures to show what I mean. The shelf above the two crisper drawers seems to be missing a middle support? Because as soon as you put any items on it, it really sags in the middle. You can see the glass shelf separating from its white plastic rim and then gap between two crisper drawers getting wider at the bottom. Are we missing a piece or is there anyway to fix this? It seems such an obvious flaw. Trails response: I have checked both units on the floor and neither have a little support... so sorry... It does seem odd that it does not though. My last email to Trail: So what are our options? I must say every time I open the fridge door - what I see (that sagging shelf) is unacceptable. I thought we were upgrading our 17 year old appliances - but it appears not, and Im sure that anyone else who has bought this fridge would be experiencing the same issue. So just wondering what my options are? Does KtichenAid stand behind the supposed quality (or lack thereof) of their products or are we on our own? And what about Trail Appliances? Where do they stand on selling crap (pardon the harsh language) like this? Suggestions? Waiting on response to this last email - but would NOT recommend buying this fridge for this reason.

I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

To KitchenAid Dishwashers: Compliments and thanks! KitchenAid has stepped up big time, so I want to update my November 7 negative review of dishwasher model # KDFE204EWH. This morning, we got a very nice phone call from KitchenAid’s customer care people. They will pay for the part replacement and the installation labor. In a happy coincidence, their local authorized service operation happens to be the same (first-rate) dealer we bought the dishwasher from, so I know the follow-through will be there. Two takeaways: At least one of the “squawking platforms” that we used for our complaining this past week did the trick, so complain widely! And It likely also helped that we promptly registered our purchase with KitchenAid, so they already had all the details.

Since then I’ve had a repairman out three times because it leaks, wasn’t cleaning the dishes, water wasn’t emptying, and now all of the wheels have dissolved and fallen off the dishwasher on the bottom rack. They have melted onto the drying bar. I am grateful they didn’t start a fire. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the detergent Cascade and that dissolves the plastic on the dishwasher wheels.... WHAT???? I finally called kitchenaid and she told me that have never heard of this ever happening and that my warranty was out. I told them that not have if any wheels on my bottom rack was inexcusable and I demanded they send me wheels. Finally they said they would. That was 7 days ago. They said they would send them but if I couldn’t put them on I’d have to hire someone, they would not pay for that. I am very disappointed in kitchen aid, and will never, ever buy another.

We purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid bottom freezer refrigerator in September 2013. It was fine for a year, but suddenly the PO sign showed up on display board and nothing has been right since then. Upon calling Whirlpool (30 minutes on phone) they suggested we call the repair companies listed on their website. First company we called was Diamond Repair and that guy fiddled around and since he could not figure out the problem, told us that the fault was with the outlet in our brand new built house! Ok, so we called the builder and they looked at it and declared it fine but changed it to a brand new one. Problem continued with the constant beeping and PO symbol on. Then I called Maytag company to look at it and that has been a nightmare. After the first tech left, our water dispenser that was working fine till then, stopped dispensing. They said that maybe it was a coincident that it failed and their tech was not at fault. What!!! They are simply unhelpful. Their techs come out and between the two visits they have changed each and every circuit board, to no avail. Much to our chagrin, whenever I call Whirlpool customer service center, and speak to a manager, they make me repeat the problem, promise me that they will call back and I never hear from them!! One time they supposedly ordered new door for this fridge, but the tech from May-tag came with new circuit boards and did know anything about any door being ordered. I wash my hands off Whirlpool company. The fridge was clearly a lemon. In all the years of owning several refrigerators, this has by far been the worst fridge we have owned but the Whirlpool customer service has been pathetic, to say the least. I will make sure none of my next appliance is even partly owned by Whirlpool!

This will be the 2nd time that I have had to call a repairman out to replace the thermostat in my Superba wall oven. Like so many other complaints Ive seen posted, there is something wrong if you cannot use the self clean function of your self-cleaning oven. To pay this kind of price (over $3,000) for a convection oven/microwave combo is a lot and you would expect a better product. First off, you pay extra for a self cleaning function but if you cant ever use it without it disabling your entire oven, then whats the point? So far on my oven combo unit, I have had to replace the glass in the door panel of the microwave, the glass in the door panel of my oven (no they were never hit by anything) and am now replacing my thermostat for the second time all because I wanted to use an option that I paid for: a self-cleaning option. Never again will I buy a product from KitchenAid or one of their related subsidiaries.
