Our son bought a KitchenAid KUDS201XWH4 replacement dishwasher for us a few years ago. Like everyone else has mentioned, the prongs holding the upper rack rollers in place broke off causing precarious loading of the upper rack, in order to keep the wheels from falling off completely. I went online and ordered two replacement roller assemblies. Surprisingly, even though order acknowledgement indicated out of stock, the parts were delivered in a few days. Removal and reassembly of the roller component assemblies proved to be puzzling at first, but it didnt take long to get everything mounted correctly and working again. Now we stack the top rack with heavier items toward the rear, not in the front. Think teeter-totter balance. Unfortunately, after a recent momentary power outage our dishwashers wash cycle starts, but soon changes to the Cancel/Drain cycle then stops completely. Now what?

I have a 4 year old KitchenAid oven, electric, and after I ran the self clean cycle the oven will not heat at all. All of the lights and clockwork but I have no heat on any cycle, including broil. Is anyone else having this problem? It appears that the clean cycle must have burned up the heating elements.

I got this new KitchenAid stove 1500 and was so happy with the way it looks, but... What a horrible product this company made! First, I had to exchange this stove, because of the computer problems it had (exchanged it two times). Unfortunately it was over 30 days so I could not return it. Second, it takes over 30 minutes to preheat the oven! Third, after a month of using it two light bulbs went off!! At the same time!!!Last, but not least their service team checked and stated that the temperature in the oven is right, but to roast or bake it takes twice as long! Not to mention that the glass top is made from some horrible material and it is very difficult to clean! And one area of glass is already chipped off!! I bought it in June 2016 four month ago! Dont buy Kitchenaid products!!!

The company says they care about customers but this is a LIE!!! I have a 6 months old built in refrigerator that does not work! Is is being 3 weeks and they still do not repair! In this case I would understand being a 6 months old refrigerator they should exchange it to show the respect with the customer, but not only they do not do that, they do not send repair. This is unbelievable!!! I even sent a email for the president of the company and he does not even replied. Hey @Marc_Bitzer this is not being polite or caring with someone that pays your salary! @kitchenAid #kitchenaid

We purchased two kitchenful of appliances, one was the Pro Series. Within a few months, the enamel on the KEBS208SSS top oven began to pit and chip away. KitchenAid sent out a new oven. We were happy. We should have known that this could potentially happen again. Meanwhile, the microwave computer board went out after the warranty date and it would have cost nearly as much as a new one to fix. The hood over the range has had issues with needing replacement bulbs, only to find out that this time the fuse connector was burnt. Too bad the warranty period is over and good luck, said the KA agent.Last week, I noticed that my replacement oven was showing pitting and wearing away of enamel once again (blue enamel). The KA agent was kind enough to tell me I was probably using it wrong and that I was supposed to clean up the large spills before running the cleaning cycle. I might add that a piece of the foil I used to line the rack for the large spills fell to the bottom of the oven and is now permanently attached to the enamel. I have not used the cleaning cycle in fear it will cause more damage. Again, the agent told us theres nothing KA can do and maybe search for an enamel repair kit and good luck with getting it resolved. I am shocked by KAs attitude and lack of support.

Kitchen Aid KUDS301XSS8 - This dishwasher is a piece of junk! Expensive & for no reason the computer board turns on & off during cycle if you stand in front of dishwasher! (Interrupting was cycles... Repairman told us to put it on control lock where it gets stuck in lock mode & beeps obnoxiously at you! This feature doesnt work.) Our biggest complaint & the one the repairman said he fixed ALL the time... is the wheels on top rack. We had the dishwasher less than a year & two, rack fell apart! Well not even a year after repair, it broke again! Do not buy this dishwasher!!! I have no idea why we ever listened to the lame sales guy at Sears... Hmmmm maybe the fact that he had been unemployed for quite sometime & the job was new... Should have been a sign!

We own two model number KESA907PSS KitchenAid stove/ranges. We have replaced two control panels due to boilovers on the range - spills or boilovers run down into the electronic control panel and short it out, making the oven features unusable. We were able to turn on the oven, but we would have to turn off our breaker to turn the oven off. KitchenAid would replace the part while under warranty, but they would not pay for the service call. Service calls were provided at over market prices of $90 per call. It was easier just to call an independent. Additionally, the knobs on the front of the stove push in and turn on if you barely bump or lean against them. We have accidentally burned/melted items that were on the burner. This is a huge liability for Kitchen Aid I would think. We try to make sure nothing is ever left on our stove top and we check our stoves before we leave our home for fear that someone may have accidentally leaned against the knobs and turned the stove on. Very scary! I will never purchase a major appliance from KitchenAid again. I have smaller appliances for KitchenAid that I have not had problems with.

This Kitchen Aid gas range was less than a month old when the first stuck and shorted key message popped up. The oven would spontaneously try to turn itself on at random times. I had to keep it unplugged when not in use. Then it got so I couldnt turn it on. After four repair sessions (thank God I had protection plan), they replaced it. My biggest mistake was getting the same oven!! How could I have been so stupid. Less than a month after getting it, the oven timer would try to go on and it would keep beeping. Then when I tried to start baking temp, it would only go to 6 degrees and I couldnt push any other buttons. The thing is a piece of crap. AND I have wasted countless days on the phone with SEARS and waiting for the repairman. No more Kitchen Aid for me. So frustrated....

We selected KitchenAid panel ready, so our custom kitchen would have a designer look. Imagine how disappointed we were to learn that this refrigerator IS NOT counter depth!! The sides of the refrigerator stick out a 1/4 of an inch too far, and The sides of the door show. I understood the sides of the door would show, because you would not be able to open the refrigerator if the sides were enclosed. What I did not know or expect was the refrigerator to be black!!! Why would a black refrigerator be made for white panels? Why did my sales person not tell me I was getting a black refrigerator, especially since I was going to be seeing the sights around the door in my all white custom kitchen? EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION: The spec sheets that KitchenAid provides for your designer and cabinet builders is INCORRECT!! At least ours are! You should review yours!! The refrigerator does not measure the same as the spec sheets. This is why the refrigerator sticks out on the sides. I feel KitchenAid needs to be held accountable!

We purchased a NEW KitchenAid refrigerator 24 months ago. We were advised by family to always buy extended warranty on refrigerator regardless of brand because “they aren’t well made anymore.” We purchased warranty and accepted poor standard for expensive appliance. Within 1 yr the ice maker stopped working. Within 2 years the refrigerator side stopped holding adequate temperature. The warranty covered both repairs. What was more disappointing is the “styrofoam” part that was removed from the refrigerator. The service repair technician left the old part as evidence that they removed and installed true manufactured parts (from Whirlpool). I took pictures and will upload if that feature is available in this review. How much money did KitchenAid save by installing a large styrofoam part in their expensive product. It’s too bad consumers don’t have better options and shouldn’t expect more.

To KitchenAid Dishwashers: Compliments and thanks! KitchenAid has stepped up big time, so I want to update my November 7 negative review of dishwasher model # KDFE204EWH. This morning, we got a very nice phone call from KitchenAid’s customer care people. They will pay for the part replacement and the installation labor. In a happy coincidence, their local authorized service operation happens to be the same (first-rate) dealer we bought the dishwasher from, so I know the follow-through will be there. Two takeaways: At least one of the “squawking platforms” that we used for our complaining this past week did the trick, so complain widely! And It likely also helped that we promptly registered our purchase with KitchenAid, so they already had all the details.

The sliding top shelf of my KitchenAid dishwasher is not sturdy. It requires a moderate amount of skill to use. The shelf must be gripped from below and after loading gently pushed back in an upward motion. When the shelf is pushed back, after loading, the shelf disengages from its roller bars and falls into the bottom shelf; this happens if the person loading forgets or jams the unit. It is difficult to reinstall. I have had to purchase an extended warranty from the distributor to enable normal usage. I purchased the unit and extended warranty from ABT Electronics, Glenview Illinois.

I purchased KA side-by-side 48 counter-depth fridge, wall oven with microwave, dishwasher and 48 cooktop for new home 8 years ago. These were not middle of the road models. They were the top models available at the time! The microwave hasnt worked in three years; the dishwasher works but the door pops open right in the middle of washing, so have to prop heavy chair in front of it; and the fridge is now developing cracks in the wall between the fridge and freezer at the rate of 2 inches per day! BTW, the compressor gave up after only 3 1/2 years and was replaced by KA because the hot door burned my nieces hand. I have no hope of getting these repaired as KA said sorry; it’s out of warranty. I spent over $12,000 on garbage that should have lasted many years. I have an old fridge in the garage that has never had a problem in over 30 years, along with an old behemoth microwave that still can cook like a breeze after 20 years. I totally cannot afford to have the KA products repaired so I am stuck. Does anyone know if there is a certain kind of epoxy I should get to try and repair the fridge myself? I am disabled now and need all the advice I can get. Take it from me, dont ever buy a KA product.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator just over 1 year ago and have been having issues with the ice maker since about month 10. I just dont understand how consumers are left holding the bad end of the stick with products that are sub-par when we purchase in good faith and even purchase extended warranties. I was asked when I called for service of the same issue for the second time in about a month, if I had called the manufacturer to inquire about the issue. I quickly responded that this is the very reason that I purchased a 3-year extended warranty and that I consider this to be her/the companys job to investigate and find out and not mine. I suggest before anyone purchases a major appliance to do a considerable amount of research to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about the product. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

Yesterday the technician and the supervisor promised it was fixed. They ran the test and no errors were detected. Loaded the dishwasher and ran it using the recommended settings and dishes came out dirty. They say there is nothing wrong with the dishwasher EXCEPT IT DOESNT WASH THE DISHES. Get the Bosch. In Feb 2010 the transistor blew and was replaced. It happened again and now we need to get a rebuilt one, not new because of the tsunami knocking out the plant that used to make the parts. My current one continues to have problems: electrical issues, wheels falling off, top basket not aligned ever. The product quality is so low. I cant believe I replaced it with another Kitchen Aid. I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator Model: KSC24C8EY in March 2013. 13 months later the ice maker started to generate less and less ice. I called KitchenAid for support but they told me the warranty expired so I waited to see what would happen. In June 2015 my kitchen floor flooded with water from the refrigerator, forcing me to call KitchenAid again. They told me they could send someone to fix the problem but asked me to pay $319.00 first. Instead I called and hired a local technician for $75.00 who found out that one of the hoses connected to the ice maker was cracked and leaking. After he replaced the broken hose the ice maker began to function normally and the leaking problem stopped. I am upset that this new refrigerator gave me so many problems, from the leaking hose that consistently flooded the floor to the non-functioning ice maker. After only using it for two years I am very depressed and dissatisfied with the service provided by the machine and KitchenAid.

The drain line seems to be long enough if you could unravel it from their mountings on the side of the unit, which apparently are not to be removed? I still have no clue. I had to butt together 2 drain lines with a 3/4 nipple and 2 hose clamps to connect the 2 soft ended hoses together, seems wrong but impossible to get any facts. Some say remove the hose from its bindings, which looks impossible to do safely, or butt connect 2 hoses jury rigging it like some Ethiopian setup, not happy!

It was bought at a Scratch and Dent store, which made me a bit uneasy for any possible damages that may show up later, but so far everything has been great. Fairly quiet in our open layout kitchen / living room floor plan.I love that it has a water spout on the inside, leaving the exterior clean without the typical water/ice dispenser eyesore. Also leaves less room for broken parts to be fixed. 8 months of ownership so far and the only thing we had to change was the water pressure on the spout. Very easy.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

I am a semi retired senior that saved to purchase my last (what I thought at the time) kitchen range. I have owned KitchenAid ranges in the past and have been very pleased. There were two reasons I purchased this particular brand, it doesnt make any fan noises and for the self cleaning system. To my delight the stove is very quiet and allows an option to turn off all the normal beeping noises and the elements work well. That being said I have never been so disappointed with an oven cleaning system, it DOES NOT WORK AT ALL and yet the company continues to produce this system misleading the public. To me this is a criminal offense except I have no way to make them accountable. I am so disappointed with KitchenAid that they would associate themselves with such an inferior product. It is crucial for me to have a self clean oven and as one of thousands I am now stuck with a product I have come to hate in my kitchen. I am an avid cook and now find there are many products I am unwilling to cook as I have no way to clean my oven. I made wonderful Yorkshire puddings the other night and my husband spent two hours trying to clean the oven but the interior is so shoddy (not really a porcelain coating just some cheap material that cant withstand a proper cleaning and wont come clean with water being heated to 200F doesnt matter how many times you try). The first time after I used the self clean (I have only had the stove for 4 months and cleaned it 5 times) I sat down and cried, having spent so much money and having so much disappointment was a bit overwhelming. I called the place I bought it, they are really great, said the only thing they could do was to sell me a different stove at cost. I appreciated that but I now dont have the funds to do this or I would just to get rid of my stove. I have an extended warranty but this is not considered a warranty issue. I really have trouble with KitchenAid not standing behind their product but more so with a problem they know exists but keep producing, and as consumers we seem powerless to enforce change. As a side note, the oven wasnt hot enough and it does have an option to calibrate the temp. but even so because the oven is not well insulated or made of quality porcelain. During the cooking the temp. can drop as much as 50 degrees before it heats up again which can really affect the cooking process. So all around in general not very happy.

Dishwasher just quit working about 3 weeks ago. After about one week, I tried cleaning the inside. The bottom was all rust. When I went to wipe it out I got shocked. Needless to say, I left it alone. Called technician in and he said it was the worse dishwasher he had seen. The seal on the motor evidently leaked and blew out all the functions for operation. It would be too expensive to repair. Here is a picture of the dishwasher. This dishwasher was installed 2 years and 1 month ago.

In April 2015 I purchased dishwasher, stove and refrigerator all KitchenAid thinking it was the best. Working condition everything is okay. A month ago I was cleaning the appliance when I saw rust under the stainless coating on the refrigerator. Stove and dishwasher are okay. I called the service, they came to see. They charged me $100 for coming. They said it would cost me $1600 to replace all three doors and there was no explanation why this problem occurred. I would like to know if it happen to someone other.

KitchenAid needs to do a recall on this dishwasher. We have required repair to the top rack tracks on the left and right sides! The circular piece on the track that pops into the dishwasher rack keeps breaking. I am now going online to find replacement parts to (temporarily!!!) fix it myself. When I asked the repairmen who covers KitchenAid warrantees about the rack, he said he had not seen problems so I showed him the hundreds of comments and reviews from people who hate this dishwasher for this very reason. KitchenAid does not care and they can forget this customer forever.

We purchased a KitchenAid Superba Architect Series double oven (model # KEBC208KSS02) in 2003 for our new-built home. After using the self-cleaning oven, the display of the oven went completely out and the oven doors were locked. We had the oven repaired (we had to replace the motherboard which was over $800 once the repairs were completed) and 3 months later we had the mother board go out again. We were then told the board was only under warranty for 90 days (we were just out of warranty on the board) and that we would have to purchase another board. This is absolutely unacceptable.I have read so many forums and complaints online about this same problem and am disgusted that KitchenAid has not done anything about this. When we phoned KitchenAid about this problem to file a complaint, they would not do anything about it.

Got new motherboard, STILL NOT COOLING. Now fridge SMELLS. Im getting sick and tired of this stuff. Did I buy a piece of crap? Oh, BTW, tech said the motherboard comes with a 90-DAY WARRANTY!! Who are they kidding? 90 ** days!!!

We moved into a newly built house and just as previous reviewer (Emma of Chester) we purchased KitchenAid appliances based on reputation and we prefer to buy American-made when possible. After 16 months of use, our microwave displayed error messages to open/close door and soon the microwave went black. We hadnt purchased an extended warranty because we expected a better product. Unlike Emmas microwave which had control panel on the bottom, ours is on the side. I feel KitchenAid cannot successfully design a venting microwave to install over a cooktop. For convenience we are replacing it with the same and an extended warranty for over $700. In the future we will always consider taking the extended warranty for any product. We had a service call on our new KitchenAid refrigerator after only 13 months.

4 years ago when we built our new home, we bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher - retailed at $1800. The big attraction was how quiet it was supposed to be - and it is. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. The cycle times are also erratic. Sometimes it will take 4 hours! to go through a normal wash cycle, and others maybe 2. It has seemed to clean well, and it is quiet. But... the ridiculous lack of dependability makes KitchenAid no longer a desirable product.

For $3000, I expected more out of a KITCHENAID refrigerator. I had to wait 6 weeks for this thing and only to last ONE DAY? Unfortunately I purchased all Kitchenaid appliances, otherwise I would switch to another brand. Lowes has the option to repair, BS, this is going back and I am ordering another.

We bought Model # KRFC300ESS01. Plug it in and two weeks later wasnt cooling in the refrigerator, but the freezer was freezing over, lost all of our food. KitchenAid sent out repair service, ordered parts replaced and said it was fixed and here we are 2 weeks later with the same thing happening again. Now kitchenaid wants to send out another repair service and order more parts. 3 months with no refrigerator, however we still have to make our payments. We lost 2 complete refrigerators full of food and endless amounts of money eating out. So Sad KitchenAid another American company goes down the tubes with no responsibility towards their customers. I guess the $4500.00 we spent on the full package means nothing.

I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. I hope this experience helps somebody make a wiser purchase decision.

My KitchenAid model# KFEG500E does not hold the correct temperature for more than 20 minutes before it drops 15 to 20 degrees. It is near impossible to bake anything and have it be done at the correct time. I am shocked that the KitchenAid brand is so inferior to what it once was. My old KitchenAid oven served my family for 36 years before it finally died. My KitchenAid dishwasher is still going after 37 years and hope it lasts a little longer as I hate to see how bad the new ones are. It sure will not be a KitchenAid!

I have never complained publicly before but for the protection of other consumers, I must share what happened to me yesterday with my KitchenAid stove and oven that I purchased 7 years ago for $1,245.00 (model number KGRA806PBT). It is supposed to be the top of the line product with convection oven. First of all, I agree with many people who have written here. I tried the self-cleaning oven one time when I first purchased it and it overheated and the thermal protector failed. The part was covered but not the service call ($100.00). I have never used the self-cleaning feature since. Also, for the past year, the oven has not always worked. As it heats up, I will often get an error sign on the panel. So, I just have not done much baking. Yesterday, I was not even using the stove or oven, and I heard a hissing noise in the kitchen and then a popping sound and then fire! The printed circuit board started a fire in the oven which immediately filled the entire kitchen with black smoke and flames. If I had not been home, I would have lost my house! But I happened to have been home! My husband was also home, although he was supposed to be at work. Thankfully he had a fire extinguisher in the barn so before much damage was done, he had the fire out. Of course Elders Appliance in Grandville, MI, where we bought the stove and oven, (and all our other KitchenAid appliances) said they have never had any complaints! Ya, right! Please do not ever buy a KitchenAid product. Terrible!

We purchased the new low profile style of KitchenAid microwave hood combination to replace a 21 year old Maytag model. I could no longer get parts for the old girl so decided to update. Installed the new unit in March of 2019. The performance of the microwave is as I expected from a higher end product. The model upgrades to LED lighting and the exhaust fan features are all pluses for this unit. The microwave touchpad and programs have worked very well. I would be rating this unit with 5 stars at this point except for one major flaw....There are (5) chrome buttons on the front face of the microwave to control the lighting, fan, open the door, cancel program, and start menu programs. On the surface of the buttons lettering had been stenciled to identify the function for each of these (5) buttons. After about 6 months of use the lettering has become faint and/or disappeared. Of course the two buttons used the most START and OPEN are now basically missing any lettering to identify the function of that button. In September I decided to contact KitchenAid Customer Experience Center about the problem. I first used the contact via e-mail found on the KitchenAid website explaining the issue with the button lettering disappearing. Received a response about 5 days later stating they were sorry I was experiencing and understood it could be frustrating. Then went on to state quote When touching the control panel, be sure there are no oils or lotion on your fingers. This can damage the lettering and finish.. They would be sure to pass on my complaint for review and future improvements. Of course this response did not sit well with me. What kitchen appliance should not stand up to normal use with your skin oils or other kitchen products touching its surfaces.I then called to arrange for a service call on the microwave again explaining to the representative my issue with missing button lettering. After much discussion of the problem they basically categorized the problem as cosmetic and therefore excluded under their warranty. The warranty in the User Guide also stipulates in bold lettering The cost of repair or replacement under these excluded circumstances shall be borne by the customer. No service call was set up at this point. After a couple more e-mail exchanges with Consumer Correspondence Team personnel, they recommended I arrange a service call to have a local KitchenAid repair technician look at my problem. I asked them to waive any costs for the service visit IF the technician could not classify the defect as anything other than what they had already called cosmetic. They could not provide me with such a waiver and no service call was arranged.I would say the Customer Experience Center personnel listened to my complaint and understood my dissatisfaction, but could not help resolve the problem. I even asked them to just send a set of new buttons and I would be a happy customer. I dont think that is going to happen either. No further communications for a couple of weeks now.Like I stated earlier, I now have (2 of 5) buttons without identification as to their function. The User Guide does not pictures of these buttons so you cannot lookup what the buttons do, good thing for our memory I guess. The frustration is the lettering should be able to withstand normal use in a kitchen environment without rubbing off. It is more than a cosmetic issue. Thus the reason for the 2-star rating for this appliance. I just want current and future customers to be aware of this issue. A photo is attached of the right hand side buttons showing the lettering disappearing with use.

I get a call yesterday 4 days before delivery telling me that my fridge is backordered until April. This is the biggest load of lies since Donald Trump on Twitter. Investigating deeper and talking with my sales agent at home depot it sounds like any counterdepth fridge with external ice water have been pulled and no longer is available for purchase. They have even pulled all these models from the KitchenAid website. Ridiculous. Calling customer service, the company line is that there is no recall and it is available for order. So I ask if its available why is it no longer on the website. Needless to say I need to cancel my entire KitchenAid purchase. Do not make the mistake of buying KitchenAid.

KitchenAid Refrigerator Counter Depth Side by Side KSC23C8EYY02 - This pertains to a new Refrigerator purchased in January 2013. Condensation formed above the ice/water dispenser on exterior of original freezer door. New freezer door was installed last week (after 2-month wait). Now, new problems pop up - the ice maker does not produce ice. The electronic display is defective (light segments do not work) and the freezer is super-cooling. 3 different service companies have been here since last Monday and the problem continues. Why cant someone figure this out? A new ice maker is on order, a new display is on order and today, we are told that the heaters (supposed to keep water line to ice maker from freezing) may be defective. We have 4 months before our one-year warranty runs out and no confidence that we will have a functional refrigerator before then.

I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. I will never again get anything made by Whirlpool.

Cannot vouch for the other ones. At delivery the unit looked great. No problems were visible. Suddenly three months later blemishes/spots/watermarks mysteriously appeared on the white front panel. My dishes were coming out dirtier than when I put them into the machine. The machine was not using the soap, it just piled at the bottom. I tried powder soap, liquid soap, and pod soaps with no help. Finally my husband made it so he could watch the washing process. The spray was only going up about 4 inches - not hitting my dishes. No wonder I have problems. As part of a complete KitchenAid appliance package purchase three years ago, we purchased a KitchenAid Fridge Model KRFF707ESS01. Rather than take the specced Frigidaire appliance group that was included with our new home purchase, we elected to spend the extra money believing KitchenAid was a superior product. During the past year, we have encountered some of the inner cabinet led lights not functioning and others flickering on and off. We have determined that it isn’t a simple fix such as a door switch, but rather defective led lights and or an led emitter control board. It appears this is a common problem, however KitchenAid is not acknowledging it as a manufacturer defect.I have read a number of online posts reporting the same issues. The reviewers report having replaced faulty led lights, only to have the same problem reoccur. In one case the reviewer stated they were advised that nothing could be done to remedy the problem. I strongly advise you to not buy a KitchenAid fridge with this led lighting design. Repairs are either extremely costly or impractical as the problem will only reoccur. A highly respected technician in our area has confirmed that this is a common problem with KitchenAid fridges. This is a manufacturer defect and needs to be dealt with accordingly.

Next the top oven igniter broke. It was repaired under extended warranty I purchased, not by Kitchenaid. Knobs broke next, would not turn. Again fixed under my extended warranty. Next bottom oven igniter broke but now not under warranty. Next top oven igniter broke again! We called Kitchenaid very angry but they offered no resolution. KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have
KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. Where to begin...? The glass door has condensation build up between the outer and inner panes. The oven heat vents through the FRONT of the oven door right below the gas burner knobs which makes them hot and difficult to use when both oven and burners are in use. The gas cooktop itself has so many indentations that cleaning spills/residue is a multi-towel project by itself not to mention the materials used to make the cooktop hold on to residue like Ive never seen. Theres another oven heat vent at the rear of the cooktop below the control panel for the oven which can heat up the key pad above it. When the oven is in use for prolonged baking (think turkey), the rear right burner gets hot when not in use. If I could shout it from the rooftops I would tell the world not to buy this oven and to forget about KitchenAid all together as an appliance brand.

We have a KitchenAid KHMC1857WSS--0. We purchased it on 1-29-10; it was delivered on 2-14-10. It first quit working last 12-29-10. I was using the Convect Roast, auto mode, pizza, when it went out very near the end of the cook time; about 15 minutes into the cycle, it blew the fuse. We called and they scheduled service for 1-3-11. They replaced the fuse and said it worked. On 1-18-11, it broke down again in the same mode. Service was scheduled for 1-20-11. They replaced the fuse and some other part, and they offered to extend the service warranty for one year. Good thing, cause it broke again and was serviced on 2-3-11. I asked for a replacement microwave; they dont want to do it, saying that it is more than a year old and is not covered. It broke again and was serviced on 3-7-11. After much complaining, they agree to offer us a microwave replacement for $300. The new microwave was installed on 3-30-11. For some reason, I thought this would fix our problem. But we have the exact same problem on our new microwave. It was first serviced on 10-5-11. They came back on the 13th to put in the new parts, and the service man declared it fixed. I ask that he run it in the pizza mode before he leaves. Guess what, it blows the fuse again. He called it in, and they want to put in another new part.I am fed up. I want a microwave that works. I paid about $1000 for a new one and then paid $300 for a replacement, and I still have junk. The only offer from KA is to continue to service it. I want my money back for the replacement and a microwave that works for more than a month without breaking. KitchenAid will not stand behind their product and has done nothing but steal money from me.

While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars
Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

The top basket of my 2011 KitchenAid dishwasher has begun to fall onto the dishes below. I called the manufacturer but was told that despite the wording in the instruction manuals warranty section, Second Through Fifth Year on Certain Component Parts, the problem was not covered, this despite the specific inclusion of nylon dish racks and electronic controls. I also purchased an extended five year warranty from H.H. Gregg for $149.99 but they too refuse to honor it. In other words I bought a defective product which the manufacturer refuses to stand behind while the retailer ripped me off for an additional 150 bucks. Needless to say Ill never buy from either company again.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher came with our new house and it is indeed very quiet and does a good job washing dishes. The third rack is great improvement over the door-mounted utensil rack in our old Whirlpool (same company). However after two years st started blowing the circuit breaker and a second technician said it was a bad control board. These are back ordered 3-4 weeks. It has been down for a month and probably another month or more before it gets repaired. KitchenAid ought to keep a stock of parts that are failing on their products. It was the same problem getting the microwave fixed 6 months ago.

Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power
Re: The factory in Japan was wiped out by the tsunami and the nuclear power plant meltdown complicated it. Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) are telling hundreds of consumers they cannot provide a critical component -- main control board -- necessary to repair a frequent problem with their refrigerators. In my case we have a 42 built in, side-by-side, panel ready unit KSSO 42QMB02 purchased in 2007. The panel ready descriptor simply means we had it fitted with the same wood paneling we used for our cupboards. The board is failing and its causing the unit to freeze up with loud fan noises accompanied by disturbing clunks and thuds. Its a matter of minutes or hours or days before it fails entirely. This is a problem reported by others on this site. Worth mentioning is that this is a top of the line refrigerator/freezer that cost between $5,000 - $6,000 not including the paneling. So heres the terribly sad story KitchenAid is telling customers: They no longer stock the part because the sole source for it, a company in Japan was wiped out by a tsunami and to make matter worse, the meltdown of the Fukishima reactor complicated matters. They told me to have their authorized service provider (B&B - good folks) to just send the board in to be rebuilt. That my refrigerator/freezer would be down for the length of time it took for the board to be repaired. That they offer no service contracts. That if I wanted they would sell me a new unit at a small discount - $6,233 for a new unit. I should add that because this is a panel ready model with our custom panel wood on it, it would be darn tough to match the old stock so there would be at least several hundred dollars more in panel expense as the old panels no longer fit the new model. And this get this, when I called another provider in my hometown - a fellow Ive known for years, he told me that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool has just today (this was on October 5, 2014) posted a service bulletin that they were disassociating from the company, Cocentric, that has been rebuilding the Main Control Boards for hundreds of customers owing to service issues. So the bottom-line is that this expensive and beautiful side by side, built-in, panel ready refrigerator is a boat anchor? Then I found this blog from a very cool, smart and handy fellow, Steve **. In it he describes how pretty easily (if youre handy with a soldering iron and a volt meter that is) you can rebuild the Main Control Board for about $6. He suggest buying a beefier version of one component, a relay, to prevent this from happening ... suggesting a design flaw in this board to me. And he wisely suggests adding an Appliance Surge Protector to prevent spikes from burning the board in the future. This is all beautifully detailed with pictures and part numbers. So heres my take - Whirlpool/Kitchenaid want to sell you a new refrigerator freezer when they could easily set up a process to fix these boards themselves and support their products. It gets worse. If you want to buy a refurbished board you can! For $800 - $1,200 on eBay! WTF! KitchenAids service policies are fostering predatory online vendors. Why will people pay this much for a board that KitchenAid lists for about $235? Because ALL OF US CANT BE WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR FREEZER FOR 2-3 weeks. This is insane and immoral. California has tough consumer laws. The Song Beverly Act may cover this as in addition to providing relief for people that buy lemons, it also provides for people like us (in California any way) that expect a top shelf product should last longer than a pair of my boxer briefs.

Latest KitchenAid KDTM354 dishwasher (June 2015 delivery) repeatedly (though not every time) leaks through the bottom of the door after about an hour into the wash cycle. Warranty service technicians so far made every excuse imaginable for us using wrong soap, wrong quantity of soap, machine can make occasional splash?! but practically fixed noting and problem remains. We tried their remedies but to no avail. KitchenAid indicated they only replace the dishwasher in proven non-repairable cases but refuse to specify how many tries to fix the problem are needed to qualify for that. In the end, it may prove cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to skip work another 4-5 times that will likely take KitchenAid to fix or replace this unit. If you live in the Philadelphia, PA area, consider a non-Whirlpool brand just to get more useful warranty support, if for no other reason.

My fridge is 8 years old and on extended warranty. The compressor blew and they tell me they do not have the part to fix it. They said they would give me a three hundred dollar discount on a new fridge. Unbelievable! The cost to fix it was going o be $400.00. Not my fault they do not have the part. I will fight this until I get a replacement. In the meantime it will be up to four days for the team to get back to me. Its summer, I do not have a fridge. KGRS505XSS30 - We are now on our SECOND KitchenAid stove (identical model) because we bought from a very reputable dealer and he had sent his service department out several times and finally just ordered us a new stove. So far, the oven is working okay but the knobs are definitely a safety hazard!!! When I go to clean the back of the stove, the safety knob, yeah right, will turn and flame up. I have burned paper towels, etc.Saturday, my son just reached to pick up a pot holder on the back of the microwave and a few minutes later we all smelled a foul odor. I went into the kitchen and the knob had simply moved enough to turn the gas on, but not the flame!!! Glad we had no smokers in the house. We had to raise windows and use fans to remove the gas fumes. DANGEROUS and should be recalled but after reading the reviews, it is obvious that KitchenAid could care less about safety. I have a aid mixer and am happy with that but will NEVER buy any of their products again.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system. We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. Their products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.

Apparently this model has two compressors and it is causing a lot of issues. We purchased our KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2015. This model has 2 French doors and a bottom freezer. We woke up to a wet floor this morning, with everything thawing in the freezer. We called KitchenAid and were told about their Goodwill Repair that covers appliances purchased between 12 and 18 months ago for a service charge of $94.95. Great we thought. Then were told they cant get anyone to our house for 5 days. Useless. We had the same problem 6 months ago, but assumed we had left the freezer door open. Not the case. I definitely would not recommend KitchenAid refrigerators to anyone, considering the issues weve had with the product itself, and the customer service.

Freezer is ridiculously small and v-shaped. Fridge parts started deteriorating a few years after purchase—after warranty had run. Deli drawer lid broke, door stripping ripped and continues to do so, mold grows in the stripping in the refrigerator, the doors don’t close well/easily, especially left door, water drips from doors, the water filter is difficult to change. I do not recommend this refrigerator at all. Looking forward to it breaking down completely so I can buy a new one!

My husband and I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 2 years ago and had our first problem when we opened the dishwasher for the first time. The bracket holding the third shelf was broken. The dishwasher had already been installed so we could not return it without a lot of problem. KitchenAid sent out a technician and he replaced the part. The rack opened with much difficulty but he said he could do nothing about that. Over the next two years the dishwasher had a slow leak that was not detected until we noticed black mold growing over the side and front of our cabinet next to the dishwasher. We called kitchenAid and they sent another technician who informed us that the leak was a result of the replacement bracket being installed incorrectly. When we again called KitchenAid to rectify the problem that they caused we were informed that it was not their problem and we had to pay for the part as well as a large bill for labour. We are completely dissatisfied with KitchenAid and their total lack of support of their customers. I would never recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. They do not back their product unless you are willing to pay again and again. As I have noticed on some of the other complaints filed with consumer affairs re: KitchenAid dishwashers, we also have noted a bad smell from the dishwasher if the door has been closed. I was unaware that it was the result of the dishwasher not having a fan motor. What an inferior product it truly is. Had we known we would never have spent so much money to purchase their product.

I spent $2,300 at Arts Appliances In North Haven, Ct, for a Slide-n electric range and microwave that were shipped direct from the factory. They were so called professionally installed. The time we used them the range emitted a loud pop and a flash which blew the breaker. The cause was a disconnected burner wire that shorted out on the chassis. Evidently the wire was never connected at the factory, an oversight that could have caused a house fire. We also quickly discovered that the lamp in the microwave above the range did not work.Arts sent us a couple of replacement bulbs. It took all my strength and care to remove the bulb which I discovered had been silicone sealed into the bulb socket. Its incredible that no one discovered these defects during the in assembly process or in Quality Control. Two major appliance shipped to the same consumer and both were defective. Adding insult to injury it took days to reach the factory claim center and days for a tech to arrive. The store owners insisted that I had to resolve the problem with the factory.

My husband called it in; gave them the model number and all other information.Today I have to take a half day off of work. The usual response, well come between 1-5 PM routine; around 3 PM a repairman called to say he would be coming by to look at the stove, and put in an order for any needed parts. What the **? We need a window. Its going to cost me half a day of work, plus the cost of a service call, or two calls, to have some guy who sounded pretty incompetent on the phone tell me that we need a new window? Long story short, glass bits ended up in the motor costing me nearly 400 dollars to replace. The good news is that after I told the phone rep that I had owned only KitchenAid dishwashers for nearly 30 years and was disappointed in how this one had failed, she got them to mail me a set of adjusters for free. If only she had gotten an authorization for the repairman to install a set, he could have taken care of the problem while he was here. I purchased a dishwasher from Lowes in 2015. 1st of all Lowes extended warranty runs consecutively with the manufacturers warranty so you really are getting 1 yr less of a warranty than you pay for. I had a service repair man come out and diagnose the problem and said it was $400.00 to repair. I called KitchenAid and they said it should still be under warranty because I had a 1 yr manufacturer warranty and I paid for a 3 yr extended warranty. WRONG!!! I called Lowes and thats when they said the extended warranty starts from day 1 of purchase, running the same time as the manufacturer. So I called KitchenAid back because the dishwasher does have a 2-5 yr manufacturer limited warranty BUT since I did not use one of their two service companies, both I have never heard of, to look at it, they will not cover the part needed and wont accept the other companys diagnosis because they are not an authorized service company with KitchenAid. The 1st customer service agent I had was very helpful, the 2nd call, the agent was not friendly at all. Said the 1st agent should have been more clear and have a good day. I will never buy another KitchenAid product and I definitely will never purchase another warranty for appliances. They are a waste of money.

It was reported to company several times with repair service deployed twice; both times they assessed drainage, suggested changing cleaning agent, using Pro Scrub option, water neutralizing agent, etc. with no resolution of problem. On last call to manufacturer, they acted like they had never heard of this problem before and were very rude in communicating that there was nothing else they could do (this was spoken by the supervisor not the customer service agent). I would strongly suggest not purchasing this product due to inability to resolve AND poor customer experience. I too have the issue of an extremely foul odor coming from my dishwasher since day one (Ive had it less than a year). I have had 3 service calls per Sears. They have all told me the usual, clean with certain products, run a cycle with vinegar and baking soda, it must be my garbage disposal etc... nothing worked. I finally called KitchenAid directly. They sent one of their service people out to inspect the machine today. He explained that the machine was built without a vent fan. I was not aware that dishwashers had vent fans, but I am also not an appliance mechanic. He said that I need to leave the door open and run a cycle of vinegar through after each use. So, I need to use double the water and double the electricity to get one load of dishes done. Not to mention, trip over the open door each time I walk into my kitchen. My questions is... if there is no proper ventilation then I have to assume that mold and bacteria will ultimately become a problem (if not already). Why has no one from KitchenAid thought about this? Ultimately, this is a potential health hazard. All this time I think my dishes are clean when in fact I am just washing them within a dishwasher full of nasty things that can potentially make my family sick. Im glad I dont have infants anymore. Can you imagine sterilizing baby bottles in this piece of crap?! I am still working with KitchenAid to resolve the problem. We will see how this goes. I can say for sure that Sears has been awful, no help whatsoever. Customer service very very rude. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears, and after reading all the horrible reviews, I will never buy another KitchenAid. I am also having issues with the top rack. I have to hold it in while I load the bottom rack. Very inconvenient.Updated 5/30/2016: Just an update to my previous (5/24/2016) post. As I feared, KitchenAid customer service has been no more helpful than Sears customer service. I was told that theres nothing that can be done about the foul smell in my dishwasher. I have been committed to having a piece of crap dishwasher. In the meantime, I am writing letters to the CEO of Whirlpool as well as all the board and committee members. Perhaps if others do the same, one of our letters will end up in the hands of someone who cares. If you do a Google search of CEO of Whirlpool, the leadership page for Whirlpool will come up. But that leaves me and my family in the lurch with an $800 dishwasher that needs an upper rack every 2 years. Like many others, we bought the KitchenAid based on recommendations from HD and other appliance stores. We spent a bit more to get the high temp wash and power scrub features; basic wash by most products simply does not cut it. After about 2 years the pump started making a racket like a hammer tapping very fast on a metal plate. And...no warranty for the pump. The pump!!! Jeesh. Our first dishwasher from GE lasted 20+ years without touching it. Our second, from JennAir, lasted 6 and that is after I replaced the pump, the door seal, the main filter system and the top rack. The KitchenAid we bought...seems about 2 years. KitchenAid is no better than the worst manufacturers out there. What a joke.

I originally purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model# KRFC604FSS) May 313 2017, along with 4 other KitchenAid appliances (this is a new build). All but the stove arrived 6/21/17. When we plugged the fridge in, it was making a very loud noise and many of our contractors said it was abnormally loud and I should call Pacific Kitchen & Home/Best Buy. When I did, I was told to talk to the Geek Squad and then call KitchenAid directly. That was the beginning of long wait times on the phone, automated voice messages, getting disconnected after providing endless details (they cannot call you back) and waiting to speak with a human that could take action. When I finally did speak with someone they argued with me about the date of purchase (which I have the receipt for) and how loud the noise was. They refused to replace the fridge and sent someone out. The first time I sat home for 8 hours and no one showed up. They rescheduled. The second time, they said they would be there between 8 and 12. They didnt show up and said they would come at 2. I was not able to wait, so I asked to cancel, and they said they couldnt cancel the appointment after the driver was already en route. They showed up and no one was here. When I called to reschedule they said that I wasnt there for my appointment which I explained was not the case. Then they fixed the fridge but not the dent or the rust on the front door. So I started the process all over. Finally after many calls and arguments, asking them to just replace the door, they refused and sent me free stainless steel cleaner. Pacific Kitchen & Home agreed to replace the fridge since they thought KitchenAid should have done this. The new fridge came the end of September. The ice maker stopped working early December (who needs ice during the peak holiday season?) So I made another appointment and they then canceled it, a few days before. Today the repairman came (12/29) and said that he didnt have the parts. He will be back next Friday. So this is the general gist of my experience so far. When the repair person arrives he is polite and does his best. Pacific Kitchen & Home have also tried their best (by replacing the fridge in September). The bottom line is that KitchenAid produced a poor-quality product, would prefer to fight with the consumer than provide service, and sends their repair people out without the required parts. It is important to note that this fridge was over $2600 and I have now had to take time off from work, on four occasions, and it is still not working. I have had THE SECOND fridge in my house for three months. It is still not working properly and failed during the month that I have the most people at my home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND going elsewhere with your business.

I have had to replace my top light in my refrigerator twice already. Well today I opened the refrigerator to clean and once again smelled a burning plastic smell. Yep, looked up and the lights had fallen again and was melting the plastic that covers the top light. This is a huge fire risk. Thank God I have caught it all three times now before it starts a fire. KitchenAid will be getting a call from me first thing in the morning. My parents always purchased KitchenAid products and I have up until this point. Guess its time to find a new family brand that will be safe to have in our home. I would not recommend a KitchenAid refrigerator to anyone at this present moment.
