I owned a KitchenAid gas stove (model KGSA906PSS) since 2005. The control board has been replaced twice. The first problem I had I could not turn the stove off. The second problem was I could not turn the stove off, had to use the house circuit breaker. The final problem occurred today, I heard a continuous beeping sound in the kitchen and the stove was burning. The control panel was not on, the stove was extremely hot, smoke filled the kitchen and there was a continuous red glow on the back wall, inside the stove. I turned off the main breaker and call New York Bravest. If we were not home at the time our home would have surely been damaged by fire. I also have a nonworking Kitchen Aid (model KHMS155lSS) that has been serviced three times, no heat. Pay close attention to your appliances by Kitchen Aid. PROTECT YOUR FAMILY.

They honored the warranty conveniently. The glass top is easy to clean and it looks good in the kitchen. The convection oven heats warmer and preheats much faster than the conventional oven so I have to decide which recipe to use for what oven sometimes.

Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others
Model KDTE104ESS - purchased 13 months ago; 3rd dishwasher we had - others changed with kitchen upgrades, never had a failure such as this. Previous dishwashers were Kenmore, Frigidaire; latter was a very basic model; in same residence 32+ yrs, kids (3) no longer part of current household. Dishwasher used 6-7 times per week in household of 2, with my wife cooking 5-6 days a week; moderate use, rarely use heavy-duty clean cycle with present dishwasher. This model has a 2-stage filter (fine, coarse), with recommended cleaning varying from once/2 months to yearly. We did not clean it since new, since we scrape dishes, do minimal pre-wash or none - our usual practice for 32 yrs in present house, 6-8 yrs in prior house. When dishwasher quit draining, checked filters, small amount of residue (1/2 tsp or less), no significant coarse grit seen. Noted no discharge from DW via exhaust tube with 3 successive cycles. I watched running empty DW. Had purchased an extended warranty for a year (3 appliances, range, fridge & DW), all purchased together, all KitchenAid, 13 mos ago with complete kitchen remodeling after 22 yrs since last remodeling.Repairman (under warranty) checked machine, found exhaust pump clogged with debris, failed; emptied some particulate matter from exhaust tube into a bucket, looked like congealed fat, a few parsley & other leafy matter. No hard grit seen. He did say that matter had been pulled past the filters (couldnt say why other than pump has a suction like a vacuum), though neither filter was even moderately clogged.KitchenAid approved a $300 plus sum for pump replacement; their consumer services could not answer my query as to how so much debris got past the filters to cause pump failure within 13 mos. This model does not have a grinder as in next higher model, but again, there was not much particulate debris I could see; pump was not yet removed, so will wait to see what it looks like.In summary, very disappointed with this early pump failure, with way less usage than in prior dishwashers that functioned well for a family of 5 for 10 yrs, and 22 yrs respectively. Believe Kenmore is made by Whirlpool, the parent company of KitchenAid, so the design, though older, is I feel similar. Modern DW detergents (we use the satchets, not powder or liquid) recommend NOT scraping too much food residue off dishes, to allow triggering of enzymatic action for cleaning dishes. We rarely see residue, occasional baked on material such as egg yolk, which we now clean off; no pots go in DW, rare baking dishes, which we scrub off in the sink. So we dont feel this DW was overworked.Writing this while searching for others with similar pump failures, trying to understand why two levels of filters failed to protect a pump that obviously is rather delicate, hence recommendation by KitchenAid Consumer Services now that every month we run an empty cleaning cycle with an Affresh tablet to clear the system. BTW, weve never seen hard-water residue inside any of our dishwashers; the prior two did not have stainless steel interiors, never required special interior cleaning with bicarbonate etc., for any build-up; we get city water, pipe-bourne, just flushed out my gas water heater after 4-5 yrs, saw a small amount of milky flow at beginning of drainage, then clear; I have a water filter at my house cold-water intake; the water (filtered) in the fridge is always clear, no problems with ice-makers over 32+ yrs, no hard-water cum anywhere.KitchenAid has no answer for us other than the Affresh cleaning cycle; we use a comparable DW detergent to the recommended Cascade, not Cascade Platinum as recommended; anybody with a similar problem, either with KitchenAid dishwashers or any Whirlpool family dishwashers (include the high-end Jenn-Air brand now)? Am feeling very disappointed with this choice right now, will expect another pump failure in 1-2 yrs, if so will look for remedy from KitchenAid, or else...!Can scan receipt of purchase from Lowes store locally if required. I have no repair order number, as requested below. Do have extended warranty # if required. We had Sears brand appliances in our old house (8 years), still have Sears (Kenmore) washer and dryer, 3 sets over 43 yrs of married life, 2nd set in this house, first set lasted 24 years, top-loaders, replaced when laundry room was remodeled, now with HE front loaders that are currently 8+ years old. Some repairs were needed, recall replacing motor of current washer when motor-bearing became noisy.

Obviously, I am extremely dissatisfied with this refrigerator to take time to write a review. I dont even know where to start to list the problems weve had. Repairs have been time-consuming and costly. One repair to replace almost all of the working innards was 4 hours of labor. At least Whirpool covered the parts ($1500) and labor ($700) but only covered the labor after I called customer service and complained. Other problems include the metal strips on drawers discoloring and peeling after only 2 years, plastic vegetable drawers breaking and needing replacing at $100 each (out of pocket). The protective kick panel is broken and wont re-attach so bottom wires sticking out. The fridge and freezer doors are permanently misaligned and dont line up at top and one door protrudes at bottom. Technician says cant be fixed. Husband has tried to fix using instructions in booklet with no luck. Ice maker stopped working. Fridge occasionally leaks large amount of water into kitchen. Technician cant seem to fix problem. It is absolutely the worst appliance I have ever owned. Im 63. Its a total of piece of junk.

I currently own my second KitchenAid dishwasher. I had my first one for 21 years before we sold the house and it was still running-if it hadn't been 21 years old I would have moved it with me. When I bought my new house it had an awful dishwasher so we bought a new kitchenaid dishwasher and I love it. I have had very good luck with my kitchenaid dishwashers. Will have one in the next house too!

We purchased the oven (Kitchenaid Double Oven Gas Range KGRS505X) 1 1/2 years ago. The top broiler will not stay on when a pan is in the oven. It seems like it overheats and turns off. I called Customer Service and got no help. Now the baking unit failed. I called service and they replaced the ignitor. We asked about the broiler so they also replaced that ignitor but it didnt help. Then they said we needed a new oven gas valve but they dont have the part. Ive spent almost as much on repairs as I paid for the oven and its only 1 1/2 years old. I called Customer Service to complain but they were not concerned. All they wanted to do was to sell me a service contract that is half the cost of a new oven for just one year coverage. My GE appliances lasted nearly 20 years. KitchenAid is the worst. They have poor quality product and bad customer service.

KDTE404DSP0 - We are on week 4 now without a working dishwasher. It keeps shutting off on its own as if the door had been opened. The service tech has replaced every mechanical or electrical part on the machine without success. He just cant get the needed technical support from KitchenAid. They now have to remove it and take it to the repair shop. The wall oven KEMS309 convection oven failed in just a few months. The fan bushing failed making the oven sound like a helicopter was landing in the kitchen. From day one when the side by side refrigerator KSC24C8Eyp02 was delivered with the wrong handles and door was scratched with a buffer or something UNDER the stainless steel factory protective plastic cover. KitchenAid appliances have been 13 months of hell.

We have the big side-by-side stainless steel model, purchased in 2005 for our new home. We are in the same situation as the previous reviewer. The circuit board was removed and taken for repair. The problem is that the part is no longer available, so they are refurbishing them and must have weeks of backlogged work to do to fix them. We are also waiting on A&E. Unfortunately, they dont give you this information. They say the part is on backorder. Hello, its not on backorder. There is none.KitchenAid and Whirlpool are big companies and they should order some circuit boards because there seem to be an awful lot of unhappy customers losing food and waiting weeks or months for the repair to be done. If you have one of these big units, you can only leave the door open for a couple of minutes maximum. If you need to clean, remove the shelves or drawers and close the doors. Otherwise, the alarm will begin beeping and within days or weeks, the circuit board will fry. This is a known problem and a recall should be conducted to replace the offending parts on these units!

Same problem with top rack as everyone else. Plastic prongs on top rack are flimsy and have broken on my dishwasher several times, each time causing us to pay Sears for repair. I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from hhgregg in January of 2011. I purchased model KUDS30IXSS. I also purchased a 5 year warranty for the dishwasher. The first time I called for service for the dishwasher was for the top rack in the dishwasher. The rack was broken and needed to be replaced. The rack was not covered and I had to pay nearly a $100 for the part. The next time I called for service the pump was broken on the dishwasher. This part was covered by the warranty on the dishwasher. The next time I called for service the grinder was broken on the dishwasher. The next time the dishwasher stopped working because a fuse blew on the dishwasher. The last time the dishwasher stopped working was in October of 2015. In October I was told that two pumps were not working, the circuit board was replaced, and the control board on the front of the dishwasher was replaced. Today 3/31/16, my husband informed me that there is water in the bottom of the dishwasher again and he cannot get it to turn on. None of the lights light up again and furthermore since the control board is melted he is afraid it is going to burn our house down. We just want it out of our house. I called hhgregg and they are of no help. I did not renew the warranty this time because they wanted $700 to renew the contract. I could purchase a new dishwasher for $700 and believe me, it would never, ever be another KITCHENAID product. I am so very, very disappointed with this product. The repairman told me when he was here in November that because the dishwasher is 5 years old they would only offer us half what we paid for the dishwasher. At this point I do not know if I want another dishwasher. It is only my husband and me. We eat out for dinner almost every night anyway. Why go through this aggravation? What has happened to pride in American workmanship? My husband owns his own business. If his job performance was like this, he would be out of business tomorrow! Shame on you KitchenAid! I trusted in a product I had purchased 25 years ago! My sister-in-law is having the same problems and sadly, I recommended she purchase KitchenAid! I will not be recommending that anyone buy this brand again. We are building a new home and we will be researching appliances before we buy...but it wont be KITCHENAID!

I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again. Our warranty just ran out and the fridge stopped working. We call certified repair and were told that the Tsunami had destroyed their plant and they no longer had the parts in order to repair the fridge. They told me they could rebuild the board but no guarantee would be given for the part and it would take anywhere from 2-3 months to rebuild. The fridge was 5 years and two months old. This is the worst customer service I have ever been given and the most rude responses by the executive offices. I will never - repeat never buy another appliance by KitchenAid or Whirlpool again. The problems started right after the 1-yr warranty expired. So first the top rack came off, the roller plastic part broke. Although the racks are supposed to be a 2-yr warranty item, only the rack itself, not the mounting parts are and therefore the roller part was not covered. Next, the Control Cycle lights for the 1-hour Energy saver wash cycle stayed on, dim when not chosen and bright if chosen. I called Customer Support and was not given any help except an offer to hire a technician starting at $180 to see what is wrong. I went online to see what was available, tried a few recommendations but nothing helped turn the light completely. Next came the detergent door latch not working. I ordered the part for $110 and it came with no installation instructions. I called customer service and nothing was available to help us install the replacement part. I managed to replace it and that works now, but now again, at only 1 yr and 7 months, the dishwasher now has additional lights that will not shut off completely and none of the wash cycles work. So I am without a dishwasher and just horrified to call them again. I wish we never got our KitchenAid Dishwasher.

Remodeled our kitchen back in 2007 and, without much research, purchased KitchenAid appliances. Always hearing the name meant upper end, quality products. The wake-up call should have been when I received a warranty extension notices in the mail after only two years. June 2011 both Deli/Crisper pans started freezing everything inside so I called Idlers, the dealer, and they sent out a technician. He told me, after checking with KitchenAid Tech Support, that the circuit boards needed to be replaced. Luckily the rest of the fridge worked cause it took eight visits and weeks to get the parts, and when they came the connectors didnt match up. Tech Support said they could not do anything else, the Idlers technician felt sad for us and actually cut off the connectors and spliced the wires one by one. Now the main circuit board is failing and I hate to think how much this will cost or how long this is going to take to repair. Did I mention this refrigerator cost $5,000 and does not come with outer panels? They have to be custom-made to match the cabinets.

After one year evaporator freezes up. Whirlpool sends out repair man who says evaporator not working, must order parts. A week later replaces thermostat. A week or two later evaporator frozen again. A week later replaces electric control board. Two months later evaporator frozen again. A week later repair man comes out, yes evaporator broken, must order parts. A couple weeks later repair man replaces circuit board. Seven months later evaporator freezes up again. A week later repair guy shows up, yes it is broken. Will need to order parts. It has now been almost three weeks and still waiting on parts. In between waiting for the repair guy or on parts, I have had to unload the refrigerator and manually defrost it every 1-2 weeks. KitchenAid had a very good reputation once upon a time. Apparently they are now getting their parts from the lowest bidder, most likely China. One other reviewer said KitchenAid refrigerators has over 3,000 parts backordered.

On Wednesday, April 11, 2012, I ran the Self-Cleaning cycle on my KitchenAid Built-in Double Ovens. Approximately an hour into the cycle, the glass liner exploded and shattered. I reported to problem to KitchenAids Customer Service and they had a local service rep call me within 24 hours. He indicated that he had to order the part but should have it within a week. It has been almost two weeks and I have not heard from the service rep. The oven is less than 6 months old so it is covered under warranty. Although I had been extremely happy with how the oven performed (baked) until recently, we are extremely dissatisfied with how KitchenAid is treating the problem. They did say that they would replace the glass but we are concerned about safety and using it in the future.

This refrigerator is just over 1 year old and it has stopped cooling 5 times. It is a defect that KitchenAid is aware of and they arent doing anything to fix it. They have an internal service bulletin on this issue. They send a repairman out and he replaces a part and 2 months later it stops cooling due to ice build up behind cold cut/vegetable drawer. They continue to make different repairs until your warranty is expired, then you are out of luck. KitchenAid knows they have a bad product. They dont have a permanent solution, yet they continue to sell this model. What kind of company does this? How do they get away with it? AN ATTORNEY NEEDS TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! You cannot use the self-clean function because if you do, your oven quits working. Something burns out. I suspect that it may be a temp high limit switch - unable to get straight answers from Whirlpool who sell KA appliances. Our local dealer was unable or couldnt be bothered to help. Whirlpool said that this was the first time they heard of this problem!! What a bunch of malarkey. I spent $8,000.00 on a wall oven, fridge, gas countertop stove, dishwasher and microwave. I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator/dishwasher and stove Sept 2010 at Lowes. There was nothing wrong with my appliances. They all worked at the time I was redoing my kitchen and but wanted all new appliances. I chose KitchenAid because I thought they were one of the top of the line products. Wow was I so wrong. I have had problems with my refrigerator, started about a year after having it. I would empty my ice bucket and could not get the door to close properly. Had them out here 3 times never got it resolved. So now I just slam it as hard as I can and it closes nice. Well now it is leaking underneath on my hardwood floors so whats that mean? My hardwood floors is now ruined. I made my first phone call on Wednesday Aug 17 2016 and spoke to a supervisor Ben to tell me to buy the warranty and he will have someone out here on Monday.Well thats not acceptable now he gets someone to come out on Friday 8-12 so my husband waits and no one shows up. I am at work and I am fortunate that I am able to make phone calls. I literally was on the phone for two hours trying to get this resolved to get nowhere except Im sorry. I appreciate the Im sorry but what are you doing about it? Nothing. They blame the service that is supposed to come out and the service blames it on KitchenAid. I tell KitchenAid I will never buy another KitchenAid product again and all they say is, Im sorry you feel this way. Really, dont you want to keep your customers? Bottom line - dont buy KitchenAid. They dont stand behind their products.

2 months ago, purchased new counter-depth KitchenAid from Sears. It never reached safe temp, and was 68 degrees after first week. Woke to spoiled food, and alarm beeping. Fast forward two months, and this refrigerator has turned our summer into numerous calls to Whirlpool (where you wait 45 min on hold before reaching anyone), 4 service appointments, (where you must be present at home waiting, for a 5 hour window), parts replacement, (must wait at least a week for parts), followed by still nonfunctioning refrigerator, then, start process over, again!!! We have had 3 service calls in the 2 month, now waiting for a fourth, each with major parts repair, only to still have 68 degrees, NON-FUNCTIONING, $3,000 refrigerator!!! This is an update to my post here on 11/24/2011. KitchenAid dishwasher KUDE
This is an update to my post here on 11/24/2011. KitchenAid dishwasher KUDE70CVSS2, 1.5 years old, sanitized light was blinking at end of sanitize wash, i.e. water was not heated up high enough to sanitize the dishes. Finally, it was repaired today, 2/8/2012, almost 11 weeks since it broke. We had 8 service repair visits made by 4 technicians from 2 service repair companies. During this period, the printed circuit board was replaced twice. We were told our hot water supply was not hot enough by one technician who didnt come prepared with a thermometer. A different visit and technician with a thermometer measured it at 142 degrees, well above the 120 degrees the KitchenAid manual says is needed. We were told the problem was in our household wiring. That was a miscommunication between one service repair company and the extended warranty company. Then the entire washer unit with pump and diverter valve was replaced, today, the 8th visit, and the unit now sanitizes and works just fine. Now Ill tell you how to navigate through the bad technicians, miscommunications and so on that I learned after being frustrated when the second service call did nothing to fix the problem. Inside the kick panel of the KitchenAid dishwasher is a large folded paper enclosed in a waterproof pouch. It a technicians debug sheet that describes how to operate and analyze the results of a built-in self test. Yes, these dishwashers can perform a rather complete self test that concludes with a code indicating what the problem is. Read the sheet in your washer to understand the proper sequence of front panel button presses needed to begin the self test. But beware, the test in my washer can be run to either display the concluding results, or skip the display. You will need to run it in the display mode to read the results, duh. Duh, because the first technician kind of ran it in the other mode and never saw the result. None of the other technicians even ran the self test. It takes about 27 minutes to run, and you have to sit and watch the lights flash so as to catch the final conclusion. Huh, KitchenAid? The technicians would rather just replace stuff than wait 27 minutes to find out whats wrong. But I ran it, not just once, but many times, and I always got error codes 4-1 and 4-4. And the documentation says that one of the causes of a blinking sanitized light is error codes 4-1 or 4-4. Duh again, only on the 7th service call did the technician say lets see what 4-1 and 4-4 are and the answer was an issue with the diverter valve, so he ordered a new one, replaced it on the 8th visit and the washer runs just fine. So run that self-test, get the error codes, then insist the repair company fix the error reported by the self-test. With each technician, I point to the KitchenAid refrigerator I bought in 1987 that still runs well, and, each has chirped, dont buy another KitchenAid refrigerator. Im not buying another KA dishwasher either!

We purchased a KitchenAid double oven with the construction of our new home. Commencing with the installation there was nothing but malfunctions with the oven. The fan was bad; control board went bad and most importantly (and never satisfactorily resolved) the oven consistently failed to preheat at the correct temperature or to cook evenly. The oven consistently overheats between 40-50 degrees. Several holidays were less than satisfactory due to the condition in which the food was cooked. The oven was serviced several times over one year and problems were never resolved. Before warranty ended, demanded oven be replaced because lemon and was refused. Told the uneven temperatures and cooking was the way it was suppose to function. Not if you want to follow a recipe, it isnt!!!

Kitchenaid ktrs19k - The inside of the freezer burnt to a crisp around the light encasing. It melted the sides of the fridge and charred the side wall. This is very disturbing to know; this could have burnt down my house. Has anyone heard of this before? I, too, had a house full of KitchenAid and guess what? They have all been replaced. Now, the refrigerator is dead. NEVER AGAIN!

$1000 dishwasher that is 2 years, 3 months old left upper rack rail rusted at the spot welds and broke off. Customer service would not honor replacement part. Upper rack was under warranty (5 years) but not the rail. New rail is ~$60. This dishwasher replaced a working cheaper model (noisy) that was 15 years old. Can’t believe the poor construction.Customer service is the worst. On hold for ~1 hour then Was told it would be a $139 service charge just for the guy to come here to evaluate the failure, I said no and just wanted the part so I could install they then transferred to the Parts dept. on hold for a half hour only to be told they don’t do warranty orders. Then transferred back to escalate issue for another hour just to be disconnected. Never buy Whirlpool or KitchenAid again.

We just bought a new 32 built in KitchenAid refrigerator with french doors and bottom freezer. It is fine except that the door slams shut upon release. If the door is open and I just let go of one of the doors, it slams really hard and its so annoying! Had someone out to look at it twice, and they said that there was nothing they could do. That apparently theyre all that way. Has anybody else else experienced this? Paid $9000.00 and I would think that it would be able to close properly without jumping out of my skin if I dont remember to hold on to the door and gently close it!

In November of 2010, we had just finished our $18,000 kitchen renovation. Our $2500.00 side-by-side with freezer drawer on the bottom is a beautiful stainless steel. Was delivered and installed by Lowes. That is when the fun began. After about 2 weeks, we noticed that the food in the freezer was soft to the touch but cold. We gathered the children and told them of the importance of making sure the drawer was closed all the way. After several days and several lessons in proper door closing procedure, I noticed that there was never any ice when I wanted a cold drink. I soon came to realize after the food in the top part of the new $2500.00 beauty became room temperature that there might be a problem beyond my children and proper door closing procedure. Then the real adventure began. I called the customer service number in my trusty manual and spoke to one of the clear speaking people in charge of handling such situations. I was told that they would send a repairman to look at the refrigerator and the appointment was scheduled. When asked what to do about all the food in my stainless steel showpiece, I was told that they are not responsible for food loss in this type of situation. Maybe one of your neighbors could store your food for the time being. Yes, maybe I could have a neighbor store food for my family of 5 until I could get my metal closet repaired (midnight trips to get a snack are now more exciting). I then had the pleasure of meeting a repairman who was more than happy to look at my wonderful now skunky-smelling top-of-the-line food storage device. Mr. Repairman started poking and tapping and doing repairman type things. I will need to go through this section by section to try to eliminate possible causes to the problem, Mr. Repairman told me. When I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, I was told, Minimum of 4 hours to dismantle, however many hours to do the repair once diagnosed and another 4 hours to re-assemble. Great, I said, My new state-of-the-art cold food making contraption will be spread out all over some repair shop for who knows how long?Oh no, said Mr. Repairman, We do it right here in your home. You what?????? You are going to take apart my appliance here, diagnose the problem, order the part, come back when the part comes in, repair it and then re-assemble it ????? Yes. How long are we talking about ???? 7 to 10 days if the parts come in. After a quick dial, I was back on with customer service telling them what I had just been told. Let me call the repair company, please hold. After a brief hold of about 20 to 30 min. I was told to have Mr. Repairman contact his office. When Mr. Repairman was done with his call, he printed out a slip from his little portable printer and told me that his office and KitchenAid determined that the repair was going to cost too much and that the unit should be replaced as totaled. Wow, what a relief. I was now put in contact with a customer service rep to arrange for my nice new right out of the box stainless steel replacement. Within 2 weeks, will have the new one delivered. What? 2 weeks? What am I to do for 2 weeks without a refrigerator? You can rent one until your new one comes, I was told. Anyway after my waiting period and lots of take-out, my new ice box arrives and is installed to numerous cheers from the kiddies. We thanked Mr. Deliveryman who left and we went on with our lives... until about 2 and a half months later. Honey, did you leave the freezer door open? Everything is soft. And there is no ice. Ring, ring. Hello, customer service. How may I help you? After an even more entertaining episode and even more trips from Mr. Repairman who used the term deja vu, it seems like I have been here before (long term memory is not an issue here). Mr. Repairman said that this was common and that a part needed to be replaced. He didnt have the part but it will be ordered. How long are we talking about? 7 to 10 days. Well eventually Mr. Repairman came back and replaced this little rubber part that lets condensation drip onto a pan so that it can evaporate. Problem solved... NOPE!!!!!! Several more visits from Mr. Repairman and several times telling him that yes, he had been here before KitchenAid decided that this unit also was too much to repair and authorized a replacement. And yes, it was going to be another 2 weeks. At this point I said, Hold on. Why would I want this thing replaced a third time? Can I get a different model? No, that is not an option. 2 weeks later, my brand new stainless steel right out of the box replacement replacement food keeper cold thingamagig makes its grand entrance. Mr. Deliveryman who also say it feels like he has been here before installs and again leaves. Wow what a journey. All this just to keep food from going bad even though twice it did. And after all this, I am still sane. I liked the refrigerator when I saw it in the store. It looked beautiful. Now all is going well and we still have our KitchenAid and it looks like everything is finally going to be... Oh wait I forgot to tell you that I just got off the phone with customer service because unit number three is doing the exact same thing. If anyone is interested in a stainless steel boat anchor, please let me know because I have one made by the good people at KitchenAid.

I purchased a new Kitchenaid dishwasher from Sears in November of 2010. After paying a hefty price, over $700.00, it has now broken down completely after only eight months. First, the sliding drawer cracked, really? After all it is made for dishes and now the entire control panel is fried. I am so disgusted mainly with this problem and being that I must have a repairman come only on hours that are very inconvenient. After taking three days off, there was another issue today, and now I have to try to get someone to come tomorrow since I have taken enough time off from something that is not even a year old. I would like to know if there is a lemon law about these types of problems. It doesnt appear that I will have this appliance for long.

In 2013 I purchased a KitchenAid package of appliances for my house. Since last year I have had the repair people out on 5 different occasions and I am still having issues. The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

Brand new oven. Used oven in bake mode twice before. First time using in convection roast, set temp at 350, 45 minutes later heard a pop, went into kitchen, fine glass shards on floor, glass door in oven shattered. Called kitchenaid, they asked questions, said they would transfer me to the safety department, and disconnected me. I re-called, waited another 8 minutes and finally got connected to a person. Asked if anyone was hurt, I stated my dog got cut on his foot, they said they were sorry. They set up a repair appointment for the next week, they said if the repairperson had the glass they would fix it, otherwise they would order the part. I asked why they didnt tell them to bring the part, they said that was up to the repair people. I asked if there was any compensation for the meal in the oven covered in glass, they stated they dont do that. I asked if this was a recurring problem, she never did really answer, except to say that it is glass and glass does break. This issue really should be revealed when purchasing, and the extent of the problem revealed and pursued. If anyone had been in the kitchen at the time, they definitely would have gotten hurt.

This product is an expensive piece of junk. I would not recommend it and beware before buying. Two years ago, I purchased a 24 KitchenAid electric wall oven (Superba) which never worked properly from the beginning. I thought I didnt read the recipe correctly! It never thoroughly baked/roasted in the center and now, the outside of the cake is baked but the inside is raw. Same with roasting meats. The same applies for both regular bake and convection.

We purchased KitchenAid fridge, Model # KFIS29PBMS00 from Lowes in May of 2015. We began having problems within 2 weeks of it being installed in our home. We had to have it serviced 7 times to finally get it repaired. It was finally repaired by the end of June. Subsequently, I had to keep throwing away food, taking off of work, etc. Now, 9 months later, it is working infrequently now. It started making a noise, like a lower sound like a leaf blower. Then, it started losing temperature. Main purpose of my writing a review... dont be fooled by KitchenAid supposedly being one of the top the line fridges/freezers at Lowes. At our old home, the fridge was there when we moved in and was still working perfectly when we left 10 1/2 years later. It was a GE.Result: I will never buy another Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool product. Although some of their products may be acceptable, the company has cost my family money through the loss of food and work and inconvenience for 9 months for a fridge that cost almost $2000! They should replace it because apparently it is a sub-standard product.

Then, we muted the TV and we heard a second loud noise and went to see. The glass from the oven was scattered all over the floor and even reached the living room and adjacent rooms. We all were saying we are lucky nobody was at the kitchen at the moment it happened, but now I think there are many similar cases and want to do something. This event happened yesterday night, 10-19-12. Today, we will contact KitchenAid about it but as we read from the other complaints, it looks like Kitchen Aid is not going to cooperate. Since Whirlpool stock is way up in price, might be a good time to sell...or short the stock...After owning Maytag for 4 years and having a manufacturers defect they made me an offer I could not refuse and I bought a new top-of-the-line KitchenAid dishwasher on 6/2013. I am real happy with the performance. Its quiet... cleans great so far. The bad news is that a thousand dollar dishwasher should not have such a poorly designed upper basket. The wheels just broke and several expensive pieces of glassware fell out and broke. Ask me if I am angry...LOL. After reading the many complaints on the design and quality of the parts used and that most have experienced the same problem I urge everyone to call Whirlpool corp. at Corporate Office Headquarters HQ: Address: 2000 N. M-63, Benton Harbor, Michigan 49022-2692 USA, Corporate Phone Number: 1-269-923-5000, and ask for the Office of the President and complain. The cost of repair with service is over a 150.00 but if youre handy you can fix it better than new for under $2.00.

As I read through the other reviews, I see that I am one of many dissatisfied customers. I purchased all KitchenAid appliances for my new home almost 5yrs ago. The refrigerator started giving me problems several months ago. Both the freezer & the refrigerator stopped working. A repairman has been out at least 8 or 9 times. It will work for a few weeks & then stop. The repairman keeps coming back over & over & its still not working properly. Ive contacted KitchenAid & their solution is to have another serviceman come out & we have to pay for labor a 2nd time or they can give me 40-50% off on another refrigerator. I thought the life of a refrigerator should be a lot longer than 5 yrs. My last refrigerator, a Kenmore was still working after 20 yrs. I am highly disappointed in KitchenAid for selling me a LEMON. We bought a KA frig in 2005. We should have learned from that experience. Week 1 everything in frig and freezer was freezing. Service came out 3 times. Finally they removed whole freezer side door (the brains of the unit) and brought a whole new door. Wouldnt replace whole thing just the door. While putting on new door they scratched and scuffed up unit. Yr later ice maker broke. Had to have new ice maker. We have continued to have trouble with it and it is messy. Ice gets hung in shoot, come home water on the floor. Finally stopped using it and went back to ice trays. We paid 2200 for this unit. We redid kitchen in Jan 2011. New slide in range above stove vent a hood vented thru the roof and microwave and new dishwasher. We dont cook a lot. We use the dishwasher maybe 3 times a week. It would not complete cycles but not consistent on which one then the panel lights started staying on, then off. Then it stopped working. After reading reviews we started the breaker thing. Now nothing. It wont be 4 yrs old until Jan 28, 2014 and remember used MAYBE 3 times a week. :( The writing on my knobs on the stovetop rubbed off the first time I cleaned them. The oven temperature has never been right. We have tried to adjust it but no luck. The oven does not cook evenly either. The vent a hood does not draw good. We paid a lot of money for these appliances. I previously was a Jenn Air fan... Loved loved loved Jenn Air. The ONLY reason we went KitchenAid was because the dealer in my town which we have always purchased from stopped selling Jenn Air. If we didnt purchase from them they dont work on it. So after they assured us how good KitchenAid was (even tho we had problems immediately with our fridge supposedly a freak occurrence) we went with the KitchenAid. BIG HUGE mistake. NOW the dealer we bought from so they would work on it for us has gone out of business after 60 yrs. They retired. :( Now I had to call 800 number to find someone. I have been waiting a week and a half and still no call for my appt date. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. Bad product and very costly. :(

It stops working after about 10 min., then you have to push a few buttons and then it works for about 10 more min. until it stops again, and then finally you have to start the whole cycle over and then it will complete. Its like washing dishes twice! It takes about 2-3 hours for a complete cycle. Also there is a smell that is terrible and after trying dishwashing cleaners, it still smells. Finally, every few months Ive had to take the whole thing apart to clean out the filter area to try to rid the smell. Ive never had so much trouble with a dishwasher!!!! We purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDS30IXSS1 approximately 3 years ago, stainless steel. Performed well the first 5 or 6 months. Has been nothing but trouble with the control panel. Fortunately while still under warranty, the recommended repair store replaced the control panel. Very touchy control panel, and not in a good way. After warranty ran out, have had the control panel replaced 2 more times. Its happened AGAIN. We cannot turn on the dishwasher. First time we bought a KitchenAid dishwasher, and will definitely be our last KitchenAid we buy for any kind of appliance. Stay away from this model!!! Considering how much it cost, very very frustrating. One day the control panel will let us turn it on, the next day not. Then it might work again the next day... Like its possessed. But has been a few days of trying the buttons off and on, and no luck with turning on. Hmm, should we pay for another control panel or just buy a new one?? Advice or recommendations?

My three-year-old twin-door freezer is giving me many headaches and nobody seems to know what is going on or how to fix it. The problem is that about every two weeks, it freezes a cold air passage between the freezer and the refrigerator, blocking it with solid ice, causing it to make a stronger noise than normal and finally going into over temperature alarm since the refrigerator keeps going up in temperature. We have had the visit of two factory-trained technicians to try to remedy this problem but to no avail. Any clues???

After extinguishing the fire, I called the distributor and was told Whirlpool will replace the stove immediately and we will cover the expense of the installation. That was seven weeks ago, no stove, so phone call from Whirlpool, no reciprocation for my patience. Yesterday, I was told that it is probably back-ordered. ** Whirlpool, my house could have burned down if I had not been there and yet seven weeks later, I am still waiting? Kitchenaid kdrp767rss01 range/oven - Have had the third (expensive) problem
Kitchenaid kdrp767rss01 range/oven - Have had the third (expensive) problem with my KitchenAid combo gas range and electric oven within a year. There are three expensive control boards in the appliance (each $200+). As of today, all three have failed and been replaced over the last 12 months. KitchenAid doesnt seem to know that heat is the arch enemy of electronics and that when you put electronics in a high temperature appliance, you need to take special care to protect them. My next stove will be a wood-burner with no electronics. Maybe not, but it wont be a KitchenAid.

I purchased, unfortunately, the complete upper end Kitchenaid appliance for our kitchen 5 years ago from Home Depot and with the extended warranty with Asurion. Within 2 years the dishwasher had many problems that required several repairs: new computer board, new pump, new door, new seals, new wash arms and more. The self clean for the oven never works at all and never fixed. The microwave often refuse to work at all and must unplug and wait 15 or more minutes to work and never fixed. The worse... the $3500 French door refrigerator freezer has died 4 times. Needs new defective wire system that the fix damaged interior parts that were never covered or fixed. Next the freezer fans died. Next the ice maker stopped making ice...still waiting for that fix. And now the water will not flow as well. And each time we must shut it down and lose lots of food. Asurion coverage is slow and limited and uses distant repair companies that break things and never follow through for many weeks. Do not buy their coverage. Home Depot never back these awful appliance either. And Kitchenaid simply does not care and says sorry its is not their problem. Worse appliance I ever had in over 50 years. Avoid at all costs.

I have had my refrigerator for about 4 years (MOD: KSSC42QVS02). I have had a multitude of problems with the unit ranging from a broken ice maker, frost causing a leak from the freezer, but most frustrating is a repeated problem that the refrigerator will not cool appropriately. I have had 5 service visits from an authorized repair person and now am told I have to buy a part because there is a known issue with the one that shipped with the unit. Since I had reported this problem within the first 12 months and it was never fixed, I assumed it would be covered. Instead I get into a circular conversation with customer service reps who are obviously trained to say no. At this point Ive spent close to an additional $1000.00 for a refrigerator that is 4 years old. This had led me to boycott any future KitchenAid or related company products.

Well, it started in October and finally, on April 1st (a coincidence?), I found out the part for my oven (replaced once before) was no longer manufactured and they could not find it. I had been promised on 6 separate occasions the part may be available (such fun having Christmas with no oven). It was a litany of no return calls to update the status of the part. The response: Were an incoming call center; we cant make outgoing calls. Hello?! - Its the 21st century. They did offer to pay for the part if I could find it on my own - of course; Ill do your job for you and on my time! As further compensation, they offered me 15% off the purchase of a new unit - once I supplied the invoice. Provincial taxes are 13% in Ontario - so big deal. I will grant you the stove is 10 years old and gently used, but is built-in obsolescence just the way it is? I feel terrible about sending a unit of this size to scrap when a dependable part was all that was required. I have gifted many friends and family KitchenAid products under the apparent fallacy theyre built to last. Never, ever again.

We purchased this dishwasher (KUDE70FXPA3) and had it installed 6 months later when our kitchen renovation was finished. After one use, the door latch froze and it would not shut. A week later, the repairman came and reset the lock. When we tried to use it again a few days later (not used in the interim), the latch was frozen again. Out came the repairman with a new latch. All seemed well until the unit started to leak from the lower right side. The repairman cant explain it but is ordering a new seal. KitchenAid did extend the warranty for another year for free as we have only used the machine for six months and have been helpful, but I think it is a poor design. It is also supposed to be able to support a wood cabinet face. The springs are so weak that it barely holds it up. The repairman says it is the same with all of them. We bought this unit, our third KitchenAid dishwasher, because we loved the first two. Suddenly, there is a real quality problem and I would not be likely to buy another KitchenAid unit in the future. The customer service has been good but I really have little faith in the product. It seems like KitchenAid is experiencing the General Motors Syndrome. Hopefully, like GM, they recognize the problems and get back to building quality products. I still love our KitchenAid stand mixer.

We have 2 KitchenAid dishwashers, supposed to be made by the same folks, with the top rack for silverware. This model is awful, would not recommend it at all. You have to raise the rack up every time you put something in the 2nd rack. If you lower the 2nd rack so it doesnt hit the 3rd then you cant put plates on the 3rd or lowest rack. What a mess. Had the appliance folks come out and they say there is nothing that can be done. This is an expensive dishwasher to have such a lousy system. We know KitchenAid knows how to get this done. Bad on us. The dishwasher functioned marginally for about a year and then got worse. Theoretically, it works, so it cannot be fixed. It runs through the cycle normally, but the dishes do not come out clean. They have grease films, coffee stains, fingerprints, and spots. All of this must be removed by hand washing. Not much point in having a dishwasher. I have tried the longest cycle and additives of all sorts, but nothing helps.

My Husband and I bought this stove 2 years ago for our rental unit, we never had any complaints from our tenants. But in January we moved in to the property and since then my mind has not been at peace. I have for little girls and we have had episodes were they pass by the stove and happen to bump into the stove and it will turn on the gas. I myself have leaned over the stove to get something and it will turn on, the sad part is we wont notice until we smell the gas. I tried buying some knob covers online but they did not fit due to an extra ring on each knob. So I called KitchenAid and explained the situation. I was expecting a solution, instead they sent some service guys who were very honest and said they couldnt do anything about it and that the company probably had no solution for this either. They recommended searching online for a piece that could cover all the knobs! Really? So if my house happens to blow up in the middle of the night its okay, or if my 3 year old turns on the stove and gets burnt then what? They need to recall these stoves or fix the knobs to be safer and harder to turn on.

Kitchen-Aid model KUDE70FXSS4 - This dishwasher has a problem with the top rack that keeps rolling out when trying to load dishes into the bottom rack. I’m unable to adjust the level to allow the top drawer to stay in place because the rear of the washer has wheels and they have no height adjusters, and you cannot raise the front using the adjusters provided because it is as high as it can go, as the counter top will not allow further height adjustment.I noticed a part on the top drawer that connects to the water system for the top rack rotating spray wand had protruding plastic fingers that fit into female slots in the back of the washer. The fingers did not have any detents that would hold the rack in place. I added a detent to each finger, and now when you push the rack in, it locks it in place. They must have forgotten to include this in their design. If they would have provided adjusters on the back wheels, we could have lowered the back and the top rack would have stayed in position by gravity. However, I think the added detents to the fingers is a better solution as this locks the rack in place and gravity allows the rack to stay out when loading dishes. I hope this helps anyone else that has this same problem.

I love the egg holders. The freezer does not freeze any item too much. They have came a long way, and you can quickly tell by grabbing an apple, and taking that first bite. We bought our KitchenAid refrigerator in late 2013. Luckily we did purchase the extended warranty, something we didnt typically do. When we were first married it seemed like we could count on a refrigerator lasting fifteen years or so, not anymore. Two years into it we started having problems. It wasnt producing enough ice, started leaking water on the floor when freezer items began to thaw. When I called the place where we bought the refrigerator (Hills Flat Lumber, Grass Valley, CA), all I got was youll have to find your warranty and call them. I was in the midst of a family health crisis at the time, so it was extremely frustrating. I found the warranty and took care of all that. The refrigerator was back to working.About a month ago it started demonstrating all the same problems as before. Right before the holidays! Even though we had the warranty, it took awhile to get anyone out, and then two weeks longer for the parts. I was without a refrigerator over the Christmas holidays. Luckily the garage has been cold, so I have been storing my food out there. I finally had the guy out to fix it a couple of days ago. I called them back today to let them know that the freezer isnt the least bit cold. So... About a month without a working refrigerator. It is pretty frustrating. Ive always thought KitchenAid was a good product. I still use my KitchenAid mixer that I got as a wedding gift 33 years ago. But I think the refrigerator is a LEMON!

We bought this KitchenAid stainless steel 5-Door French door refrigerator at Best Buy in Nov 2016. After a couple of days of installation, we noticed the freezer frosting, so we went back to Best Buy and requested a replacement. The replacement same model refrigerator was delivered in Dec. In Jan 2017, the same frosting problem occurred. We called Best Buy asking to get it replaced again but told us to call KitchenAid because the purchase date was already over 1 month. Called KitchenAid and asked them if we can just get the refrigerator replaced or get a refund and told them that Ive read a lot of reviews about this refrigerator with freezer frosting and that KitchenAid should have known about this problem already. But KitchenAid customer service lack knowledge. All they know is schedule repairs. From here started the repair process. Theyve sent this repair people several times (6x) already coming up with different ways to fix the problem but the freezer frosting still persist. This last fix that KitchenAid tech support told the repair people is to replace the door and it will take 4-6 wks to get the part. It is very inconvenient. All Im asking KitchenAid is give us a refund since it is new so we can get a good working refrigerator. But all they can do is schedule a repair.

Following Mr. **’s purchases of these appliances, all stainless steel Whirlpool branded appliances, rust quickly formed on the stainless steel facades. Mr. ** first reported the rust-damage to Tri-City Sales (262 Highland Avenue, Salem MA 01970) in July 2012. Tri-City arranged for L.A.R. Appliance Service (103 Albion Street, Wakefield, MA) to visit on 01/08/12 and inspect the appliances. (Apparently L.A.R. is subcontracted by Whirlpool to do local service visits.) The L.A.R. service technician told Mr. ** and his wife that he would order a complimentary replacement door for the range. However, upon noticing that multiple appliance doors had rust damage and were in need of replacement, the technician telephoned his office for advice, and was in turn referred by telephone to Whirlpool’s corporate representative who instructed him to refuse repair/replacement of Mr. **’s rusted new appliances. The L.A.R. tech informed Mr. ** that Whirlpool instructed that because the damage was cosmetic, it would be denied warranty coverage. He thereafter gave Mr. ** Whirlpool’s customer service telephone number, 800-422-1230. Mr. ** called the number immediately. After an extended wait, an incoming telephone call handler answered. Mr. ** explained that he had purchased these appliances to furnish a new kitchen and had simultaneously purchased a washer and dryer also manufactured by Whirlpool, which had a white rather than stainless finish and had sustained no such similar damage. Mr. ** stated that apart from the function of the appliance, the stainless finish was an aesthetic part of the design and therefore an integral part of the product which had failed by rusting. Mr. ** received in return a long winded reply amounting to a nominal apology, thanks for the feedback, and a statement that the rust damage is not Whirlpool’s problem and that all warranty coverage of this issue would be denied and Whirlpool would do nothing to cure Mr. **’s dissatisfaction.Mr. ** asked to speak with a supervisor, and was eventually transferred to one. The supervisor suggested a special “cleaner” that replaced “the lost oil” (to which he apparently by analysis over the telephone attributed the rust damage) and stated that provision of this cleaner is all Whirlpool is willing to do to address Mr. **’s concern about his new rusted appliances. Mr. ** explained that if oil had indeed been lost, and so rust damage was commenced, then the products were defective. Mr. ** rejected the customer service supervisor’s offer of a bottle of cleaner to repair his $6,000+ worth of rusted appliances, repeated his points of concern, and made a plea of his loyalty to the Whirlpool brand and requested that the company’s customer service team answer his concerns, and resolve this matter amicably. The supervisor again rejected his pleas but this time curiously modified the rejection with “at this point.”It is not clear what point Mr. ** has to get to in order for Whirlpool and/or KitchenAid to agree that it is not reasonable to expect customers to endure a home full of rusted appliances approximately half a year after new purchase. However, at this point, Mr. ** is disappointed that the warranty for these items has been repudiated and that KitchenAid/Whirlpool refuse to stand behind their products. While Mr. ** and his family were willing at the time of the service visit and telephone calls to accept replacement of the doors to these appliances (perhaps with a facade other than Whirlpool’s stainless steel), due to the stonewalling the company has subjected him to, he has retained me to defend his rights in this matter.Mr. ** did not receive any clear and conspicuous warning prior to purchase of these expensive appliances of an obvious substantial risk of rust damage to Stainless Whirlpool appliances. Nor are any such warnings included in advertisements for Whirlpool Stainless steel appliances. Were any such warnings made clear to Mr. **, he would not have made these expensive purchases. Accordingly, KitchenAid/Whirlpool’s policy regarding the concealment of the significant risk of rust damage (of which service technicians and customer service representatives have clearly been aware) constitutes a deceptive trade practice. In KitchenAid/Whirlpool’s failure to honor it’s warranty or to reasonably address Mr. **’s concerns, the company has committed breaches of warranty, the federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act, the Uniform Commercial Code, Massachusetts’ lemon law, and unfair business practices and other consumer protection laws. Accordingly, Mr. ** demands that his appliances be repurchased. Besides being sent directly to you, this letter is being submitted to the Better Business Bureau and to other Consumer Protection sites. Additionally, if swift action is not taken to repurchase these appliances, Mr. ** has instructed me to take all action necessary to enforce his rights including without limitation the filing of a lawsuit. Should this action become necessary, I will seek on Mr. **’s behalf all rights and remedy’s afforded to him by the law, including the payment of attorney’s fees and civil penalties for willful violation of consumer protection laws as may be appropriate. We hope for a swift resolution of this matter without the need to enforce the law and ask for a response to this claim within the next fifteen (15) days.

Why would a black refrigerator be made for white panels? Why did my sales person not tell me I was getting a black refrigerator, especially since I was going to be seeing the sights around the door in my all white custom kitchen? EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION: The spec sheets that KitchenAid provides for your designer and cabinet builders is INCORRECT!! At least ours are! You should review yours!! I had a new kitchen put into my 80-year-old house by a reputable, long-established DC firm. The kitchen itself is a delight, and I couldnt be more pleased. Because of the somewhat unusual footprint of the space, we were limited in our refrigerator options. I chose a stainless-steel Fisher-Paykel fridge and I love it; I had my own GE Profile range reinstalled. That left the dishwasher and the microwave. Kitchen Guild (the company that installed my kitchen) said I could get a deal by buying at least two KitchenAid appliances. I had never owned a KitchenAid product, but I thought they had a good reputation. What a mistake! The dishwasher started having problems with the LED display before the end of the first year. Finally, it froze completely, and I have not used it in over two years (the kitchen was installed 6 years ago). The built-in microwave with vent fan also began having problems almost immediately. First, the grid on the top fell off and broke; I called and they sent me a new one. Then, the handle fell off and they would not do anything about it! I super-glued it back on. Then, the replacement grid fell off; I super-glued that back on. Tonight I was preparing dinner and put some veggies in the microwave to heat up. The oven started making very loud, strange noises and then I smelled a strange, electrical smell. Obviously, there is something seriously wrong with the oven, and I cannot use it again. I now think I was offered a good package rate on these appliances because they were clearly lemons! I have never had such a negative consumer experience in my life! And I thought this was supposed to be a premium brand! Has anyone else had a similar experience with KitchenAid products? I paid a pretty penny for them and this is an outrage.

KitchenAid Refrigerator/Freezer, Model: KFFS20EYWH00 - Purchased in 2012, this model has double doors and a freezer drawer below. The gaskets on the doors include, at the lower inside edge, a flange. I dont know its purpose. In this instance, the flange on the right-hand door became torn simply from opening and closing the doors. We contacted a repair person, who collected the $95 price and ordered from KitchenAid a new gasket, but KitchenAid no longer offers it in white (like the original) so we had to accept grey. When it arrived he came to install it. It was about 1/4 inch too short in the length. We thought it was his error. We researched and found the gasket online, but also talked to a KitchenAid rep who agreed wed found the right one, so we ordered it. It came; it was exactly like the one ordered by the repairman- just a little too short. We returned it, with a letter (one copy sent with the return, the other mailed directly). We have heard NOTHING from KitchenAid. Its strange and frustrating that they arent making a replacement gasket in white, but a lot stranger and more frustrating that they offer a so-called replacement that isnt the right size.

The fridge is only 10 months old and KitchenAid is arguing about the warranty on it. I am totally fed up and would not recommend them to anyone.

Dont let the high price and nice design of this refrigerator fool you. The interior lights on this model work about 1% of the time. The ice maker produces ice (maybe!) 2 times a month if were lucky. We actually have to buy our ice now.... The water dispenser operates 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time the water dispenses on its own and floods our kitchen floor. The water dispensing by itself happens at all hours of the day. The door handles have all fallen off multiple times. The failures of this product have happened at different times so they arent connected to one another whatsoever. This refrigerator model worked as expected for the first 7 months. We have performed all troubleshooting suggestions. A refrigeration expert has inspected this refrigerator numerous times and and has not been able to fix anything except tighten the door handles (which are still loose and ready to fall off AGAIN). Our friends purchased this exact model and within 9 months their ice machine quit producing ice. If this model hadnt cost us $4,000.00 we would happily dispose of it in the city landfill and replace it with a different MAKE and model. This refrigerator has been a nightmare and we look forward to the day that it actually quits refrigerating our food.

So disappointed. Worst fridge Ive ever had, at any price. Its runs so loud
So disappointed. Worst fridge Ive ever had, at any price. Its runs so loud that it sounds like a machine gun. Seriously, it wakes me up. In addition, after only two years the ice maker broke. Its only got a one year warranty. I replaced it, and one year, ten days later, it started leaking, so my ice container constantly has a big block of unusable ice in it that I have to break up and throw out. Im not spending $300 annually to replace the ice maker, so I shut the thing off. Ive been making cubes in my $500 fridge/freezer thats in my garage. Kitchenaid obviously knows its an inferior ice maker, or they would warrantyit longer than one year. Its a piece of junk. Never again.

Stay away from KRFC300EWH01. Build up of frost around freezer door. Purchas
Stay away from KRFC300EWH01. Build up of frost around freezer door. Purchased from Home Depot on Warner in Huntington Beach, CA... They also appear hopelessly unable to do anything to replace the unit. Technicians come and go with glue, suggestions, and a new gaskets but the ice continues gathering like a snowstorm just swept through. I am referred Whirlpool Mfg. They refer me to the service center. The service center only services during the work week... in 5 hr windows... So they think no one works 8-5. Rotten family of products. Give me a 10 yr old fridge that works... no gadgets. This thing runs constantly... Electric bill up. I shall continue the battle. Watch the headlines!

KitchenAid drop-in stove/oven bought in January of 2015. DONT YOU JUST HATE
KitchenAid drop-in stove/oven bought in January of 2015. DONT YOU JUST HATE IT WHEN YOU BUY SOMETHING AS BIG AS A STOVE -- RELIABLE ONLY ON THE NAME? It is my fault for buying from SEATTLE HOME APPLIANCE THAT WAS GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. I didnt know that but it was KitchenAid so was thinking they would stand behind their product. I paid for the person to come and I paid for a new element on a new drop-in stove/oven and it made no difference at all. IT SUCKS!!! I dont cook/bake at all. I cant afford to buy another one and Im almost 70 and just wanted to bake cookies. well you cant!!! They need to replace these terrible products and give me one that does work.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model # KDUC031VWH on 1/8/11. Two days after the warranty expired, the unit started making a strange buzzing noise during the wash cycle. When I emailed KitchenAid about service to the unit under a good faith extension of the warranty, a customer service agent responded and informed me that my only recourse since the warranty was two days out of service was to purchase an extended warranty (over $250) or pay for a service call. You would think that a company took more pride in their product and would honor a request for warranty service for that extra two days. We will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I told the Customer servce rep this same thing. Her response was, Oh Well!

After Katrina devastated our home, we lost everything. My husband and I did
After Katrina devastated our home, we lost everything. My husband and I didnt have much to repair our home so when we had to select our major appliances we knew they had to last a very long time. We believed in the KitchenAid/Whirpool company. We purchased the stackable washer and dryer, dishwasher, microwave, stove and french door fridge. Within the first two years the microwave went out. The cost of the repair was half the cost of the microwave. After that the fridge went out. We paid $265.00 for the repair. The following year the fridge went out again with the same cost in repair. Year 4 our washer went out with a part costing over $300.00. That same year my oven thermostat became a problem with a bill of $100.00 just to look at it. Now today after paying $198.00 for a repair guy to look at my fridge (which continues to run at 54 degrees) we learned that it will cost over $800.00 to fix the freon hose which is located behind a bunch of other parts and compressor. We trusted this company but it has been an expensive nightmare!!! We can not afford the repairs and the additional cost of wasted food and trips to the local laundromat each week. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCTS FROM KITCHENAID/WHIRPOOL!!!! IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND YOU WILL SPEND JUST THE SAME ON REPAIRS. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE MY FAMILY LIVES EVERY DAY!! THEY SUCK!!

INCREDIBLY BAD PRODUCT. The good: the format of a small micro/convection oven over a large regular/convection oven works nicely for me as I can cook almost everything in the small oven and don’t have to waste energy on large oven except special occasion cooking. That said, the electronics went out twice in first couple of years, had to be completely replaced. Now I’m never sure if oven will work on any given day.NEXT: the first time I tried to use the clean program, about a half hour in, I heard a very loud crash and rushed in to kitchen to find glass all over. The whole glass door exploded all over. I eventually got it replaced but now am afraid to use it again. The bell which signals “done” and the timer itself long since stopped working and the turntable doesn’t turn. Today I found the glass top part of the turntable in pieces large and small. I’ve no idea what caused this. I’m worried that a replacement brand will not fit into the custom built in space I will have when I try to dump this headache. P.S. Read my review of KA dishwasher and immersion blender, neither of which are favorable. I have learned my lesson about this brand.

After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchas
After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.
