Following some serious health issues my wife and I moved south to Florida.
Following some serious health issues my wife and I moved south to Florida. Based on the cost of buying new vs transporting everything we decided to purchase new. After building and closing on our brand new home on the South Florida Gulf Coast we identified the best appliance store and proceeded to purchase what we were told the best quality Washer (LG steam inverter direct drive True Balance) and the Gas Dryer (LG True Steam Sensor Dry) which were both listed by Consumer Guide as their choice/ā€œTop Ratedā€? For the record we owned a matched pair of The Whirlpool Duet Washer and Gas Dryer up north prior to moving south for OVER 15 YEARS WITHOUT INCIDENT! The LG washer came with an impressive 10 year warranty and to my complete surprise the Dryer came with a ridiculous 1 year warranty! Within six months the dryer was leaking small amounts of water on the floor and the dryer was making loud grinding noises that got progressively louder as the dry cycle progressed! In addition the inside drum/tumbler finish became worn out and marred while the vent at the rear inside of the dryer literally had the finish burnt off with excessive heat presenting a serious issue! In fact some expensive Tommy Bahama shirts were ruined by this dryer!I have called the US Customer Information Center numerous times over the past two years leaving numerous messages until one day three months ago I finally had someone pick up from the Customer Information Center that was obviously overseas possibly located in India based on the gentlemen’s accent This gent proceeded to tell me that the washer was still under warranty but the dryer is only covered for one year! UNBELIEVABLE!!! He then informed me that he would have someone get back to me within the next 24 hours BUT obviously that never happened!! Based on the pricing and the alleged ā€œTop of the lineā€ there has got to be something that can be done? As we live in South Florida the clothing we cycle thru both machines is very light with no shoes ever touching either unit. Based on the facts I would warn you, stay away from LG Washers and Dryers!!

Ive been a fan of LG products for quite some time. Never had any problems with the electronics and appliances Ive bought from them until now. A few days ago, it stopped making ice and the freezer got warm, but the fridge still worked. I called the helpline and the smart diagnosis feature didnt work. I tried all of their troubleshooting tips but nothing worked. I didnt bother getting an extended warranty because of the trust and goodwill LG had earned with me over the years. Now I have to pay 80 dollars just to have a tech look at it, and even if the parts are covered I could be looking at hundreds more for labor. I waited my whole life to get a water/ice dispensing fridge (45 years) but could never afford one. When my old fridge died in 2016, it was at the same time my stepdad gave us 2000 grand as a gift. We used that money to buy this fridge during a Black Friday sale at Lowes. Not even 3 years later its dead and who knows how much it will cost to fix. Ive never been this disappointed since my Xbox 360 died but Microsoft made it right by sending a new console free of charge. I wonder if LG will be willing to do anything to rectify the situation. If not, I will never buy anything from them ever again, and will never stop being critical of their products and services.

The LG washing machine, I have a top load... spent a great deal!!! It supposed to be energy-water efficient - FORGET THAT. There is not enough water to clean the clothes or agitator clothes comes out dirty and take the ENTIRE day because if while in cycle the machine the clothes are not always balanced WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE TO BABYSIT THE MACHINE and CONSTANTLY adjust clothes to balance and STILL it doesnt work. It will go back to filling rather than rinsing. PURE JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG MISTAKE! I WASTED A LOT OF money, time, have been so aggravated and frustrated. BIG RIPOFF!!!!!!!!!!! I repeat RIPOFF!!!! How dare they sell such overpriced garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very disgusted! Minus 10 stars is what I give this product.

This happened a week ago for two days then started functioning again. Today got up to defrosted freezer and refrig warming. On my way to refrig shop—not for LG!

LG fridge bought in Aug. 2017. Worked good for almost 2 years, and then the madness started in July 2019. As of today the compressor has been changed, then a 2nd trip to fix a leak supposedly, 2 weeks after that the ice maker quits working. Technician is now saying it is the flanges on the freezer doors not sealing properly. Technician orders parts and I get a call today from the parts department saying that parts are on backorder and they have no clue how long it may be. I will never buy an LG appliance again. $2000.00 just does not buy you what it used to. If LG would just own up and say they are selling a defective product and make it right, it might not be so bad. But all they keep doing is kicking the can down the road. I am officially, over it. If something is not done soon, I am to the point of trying to see if I can do anything legally. There has to be a lemon law or something like that on products like this.

Purchased a freezer on the bottom, French door on top refrigerator that ran for six months. When I called LG to repair, I was told originally that I was not in their repair area (A&E). After much discussion, they decided to send someone out (from Sears, not A&E) and my earliest appointment was three weeks away. I had to rent a refrigerator. When they called to say they would be there after lunch, I made the wrong assumption that it would be at least 12:30 to 1:00 pm. Wrong, they got there at 12:15, I did not get there until 12:30 after leaving work. I was not aware that 12:15 was considered after lunch. They would not come back and now I had to wait another three weeks for someone. Again they will not tell me what time they will arrive, just between 8 and 5, even though I requested an afternoon appointment rather than take off all day from work. Very unsatisfied with the service of the refrigerator and the service of their outside repair contractor. If parts have to be ordered, it will be additional time on top of the six weeks I have already waited.

I am not one to leave reviews for products... especially negative ones. But
I am not one to leave reviews for products... especially negative ones. But I have been so frustrated with our customer service at LG that I figured this was my only recourse. We have an LG refrigerator that is less than four years old. We paid about $2500 for it. We kept the one year warranty that came with it when we purchased it new. Within six months we had to use the warranty because something went wrong with the ice maker. It was frustrating that we had to wait about a week to get it fixed, but it was fixed with no cost to us as it was under warranty and all of the service and product was covered.Since then, the middle plastic drawer in the freezer broke and we eventually ended up just removing it from the freezer. Most recently our ice maker stopped working and eventually the refrigerator stopped cooling. After making no less than six phone calls to customer service and following their trouble shooting, we finally had to call a local service provider. The problem was that we could not find anyone in our area who worked with LG. Literally every place we called stated that LG was difficult to work with and their systems were difficult to diagnose. We found an LG certified technician about 45 minutes away but they wanted $200 plus mileage to come out and look at it. (Our one year warranty was up, so the only parts covered were the compressor and coils. Service was no longer covered). After making several more phone calls to LG, they told me that if I could find someone to look at it, then they would work with that technician to help us get it fixed. All I needed to do was to give them the contact information of the provider that we were going to use. Even after I did this, they told me that it would take 3-5 business days for them to approve the technician (at this point it has already been 4 weeks without use of our refrigerator). I asked for a supervisor and the policy was that they could not give me the direct number of a supervisor, that I had to wait for a phone call in return. I am a physician and do not have access to my phone during most of the day. When the supervisor did call back, she did not leave a return phone number, nor did she answer my question and instead, just reiterated that it would be 3-5 days for them to approve our technician. When the technician did come out, he discovered that there was a blockage within the sealed system that was causing the Freon to not move freely throughout the unit. His recommendation was to junk our refrigerator because he would have to completely take apart the sealed system and stated that this was too difficult. In his words no one in their right mind would take this apart and fix it and left it up to me to deal with LG because of past experience, he would not work with them. After more phone calls to LG and them refusing to provide me with the service department number (citing privacy policy), their solution was to call an LG certified technician. So I was back to calling the person who charged $200 plus mileage (the only one I could find within 60 miles who would come look at it). When I spoke with the technician on the phone, they indicated that they do sealed system work because LG wants to uphold their warranty. It was going to be a minimum of $400 to take apart the refrigerator and could be up to $1200 because it was so labor intensive. Keep in mind, that I spoke to several technicians who stated that they would total it, but the LG certified technician was the only one who would do the work.We have decided to just junk our refrigerator and buy a new one that is NOT LG. This is ridiculous because our fridge is less than 4 years old and we have already had these three major issues. In all of the phone calls to the LG customer service department, not once did I get any empathy or an apology for what we were dealing with. Not one customer service representative offered an alternative solution. They provided only barriers for us to get our refrigerator fixed. As I shared our story with our friends and family, we heard other experiences of very poor customer service and products through LG and we will never buy an LG product again.

I will never...I repeat, NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought 2 years ago (Model WT4870C) has been nothing but a disappointment. To call it a piece of junk would be an insult to junk. And LG customer service is terrible! Dont think you will get any sympathy or help from the company. Theyve got your money, and thats all they care about. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. First of all, the area around the bleach dispenser rusted. Do you want rust on your clothes? Me either. Thats why I called customer service. Instead of agreement that rust in a washing machine is not acceptable, I was told, If liquid gets on the metal, it can rust. Really? Then why does it say to put liquid bleach there (in the dispenser!) if no liquid is supposed to touch it? And besides, in their opinion, the rust is a cosmetic issue. When I complained that rust can ruin clothes, they told me that I could send them my damaged clothes, and they would review them, and possibly issue some compensation FOR THE CLOTHES! Now, only 2 years into owning this washer, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! It was running when suddenly a terrible noise was heard coming from it (not the normal terrible noises it usually makes), and the tub could not stop. Natural frictional force caused it to finally come to a stop. But now it cannot spin at all. Even though the washer displays proudly on the front a 10-year warranty, that only covers the motor. And guess what: You have to pay for a technician to come out to determine whether it is the motor or not. So you are out a service charge no matter what! (Oh, and even if it is the motor, you still have to pay labor charges out of pocket.) (FYI: The photo attached shows the dispenser after I removed the plastic surround.)

Gave us 2 numbers for repair facilities, both would charge us to come and look at it. Then they have to send their finding to LG to get parts. Both companies told us that we would be responsible for trip charges plus anything LG doesnt cover. We are cutting our losses and getting rid of this piece of junk. LGWT1101 - My sister purchased this washer about 8 months ago. Initially, it seemed like a great washing machine. However, I started to notice that my clothes were not clean. There were streaks of detergent on my clothes and it started to, for some reason, rip my clothes. I have changed the settings on the spin cycle thinking this might change things but to no avail. Pants have been ripped, undershirts and most recent a jacket that I paid a lot of money for. What is going on this this washing machine? There is little to no water, and the wash cycles take hours. This is worse than the laundromat! Don’t buy LG, no good. Lifes NOT GOOD LG!

I like my LG refrigerator model because the three freezer drawers are below the refrigerator. I bought an LG washer and dryer based on consumer reports/reviews, but I was sorely disappointed. Number 1 problem: Any and all clothing regardless of age, material content, or color emerges from the wash cycle looking like **. I never ever have experienced such rapid and profound deterioration of clothing and linens! It is heartbreaking to see my familys entire wardrobe worn away to the point where I am embarrassed to dress my children. These were items which looked brand new with repeated washing in my old machine and brand new high quality clothing never worn by anyone yet ever! It has extreme wash wear even with minimal HE detergent in a medium size load with extra water and slow spin speed on delicate ones. In addition, when it arrived, it was poorly color matched so the two appliances looked awful side by side (one crisp white and one grayish white). For the first week of washing, the machine stank like chemicals and it transferred to the clothing/linens. I managed to clear that up with repeated scrubbing of the gasket and religious maintenance schedule of hot bleach washes, leaving the door and detergent drawer open at all times when not in use. It was way too much work and heartbreak, especially considering the positive recommendations it gets from consumer sites and the price to buy it!

I bought a French Door refrigerator in June of 2016. It completely stopped cooling in August of 2018. Called LG who sent me through some basic troubleshooting and gave me phone numbers to technicians that arent helpful. One sound sketchy (answers the phone Hello) and insisted I make an appointment thru a non-existent website or send an email to his Gmail. One said they wont service my town. One has yet to call me back. I called a reputable but non-LG-authorized repair service who said it would cost $1,200 for a new compressor and I would have to deal with LG myself (I think to buy the compressor). Given the reviews about back ordered parts, and lack of authorized techs, Im left to wonder how long I wait for the other technician to call me back, argue in vain with LG or just buy a new refrigerator. Very open to joining a class action lawsuit. I certainly dont make enough money to replace expensive items every two years. Reading up on refrigerators, old fashioned top freezer refrigerators are a whole lot cheaper and fail less often.

Maintenance guy comes out and once again its our fault. These machines are high maintenance and require a complete wipe down after every use. Wipe down the gaskets the doors and leave them open to air out (we have a toddler yeah thats safe) Dryer had to be semi disassembled and the amount of lint the bypasses the filter is INSANE! Bought LG W/D set from Lowes, topload washer not frontload. 33 days after installation dryer started knocking while drying (loud). Called LG CS, took 5 days for repairman to call and set up appt. Rollers were bad so installed new ones, 2 days later loud knocking was back so installed new motor, 3 days later and louder than before. Repairman came out and replaced all rollers again. So far all is good but the process took over 2 months to resolve. Lowes was NO help at all. Now the washer... it smells like rotten eggs after a couple of washes, we need to run tub clean every 2-3 days to keep smell away.1500.00 and we have a washer that has all the fancy bells and whistles but cant do a basic wash load without special care. Even following all the instructions for keeping lid open and not leaving clothes in washer nothing changes the smell after a couple of days. LG CS is terrible, Lowes CS is terrible. LG products are a nightmare, never again. Bought 3 yr extended warranty and they were just words and excuses. Seems this is a design flaw that should have been fixed but I guess the consumer will just deal with the bad product design.

Updated on 07/25/2019: I thought I would be coming back here to change my rating. An LG rep contacted me in private conversation on this site after I posted my original review. He promised in writing (sent the transcript to LGs repair website) to fix the problem with no charge. I spent hours of submitting the required pictures, information, and the transcript of the conversation. The rep who spoke with me and reviewed the conversation said that since I was promised a courtesy repair and since I submitted the proof, that an LG rep would be contacting me by phone within the next two days. Instead, I just received an email in my junk mail that THEY COULD NOT APPROVE THE REPAIR. So, my original review stands at one star. It should be lower because they did not follow through on their promise. On my original review, it states Resolution in Progress. SADLY, THEY HAVE NO INTENTION ON RESOLVING THIS. It would have been better for them to turn me down OR NOT OFFER in the first place than promise the courtesy repair and renege. I DIDNT ASK THEM TO FIX IT, I was just writing a review on their product. They offered to fix it. Never again will I buy and LG product. And I will discourage all my friends and acquaintances against it. Dont buy anything LG--there are so many other better brands out there with real customer service!Original review: We purchased an LG refrigerator and almost immediately the covering on the control panel started peeling. Its my fault that I didnt take care of it right away, but it was only cosmetic. At the time, we were in the middle of a military move and had many other things that needed attention. The fridge is only 6 years old, but now the peeling has almost reached the fonts that tell you what your choices are. As it peels, it turns black underneath so once it reaches the wording, we wont be able to read the available choices. The customer service rep says it will be $125.00 to send someone out and they do not sell the required part to customers. Only a technician can bring the part. Cheap product- wont buy again.

The LG washer started making oil spots in our clothes. I learned from a friend who is a technician to apply DAWN dishwasher liquid to the spots and let soak. After washing, if the spots come out, its from the machine. I have to clean my machine once a month with a commercial cleaner that is expensive to use. The problem with the washer is that all the cycles except for the towel, bulky items, and large loads do not use enough water to get the soap out of the clothes. The so-called water saving modes are causing the spots. LG tech service is of no help. The LG dryer lint tray compacts the lint so if you dont clean inside the lint trap, the tray will not go all the way down. I had several clothes that were torn because of this. I will never buy another LG appliance again!

My LG Tromm front loader washing machine finally bit the dust this week. The bearing is completely shot and I am ready for a new washer. I bought this washing machine in Feb. 2008, so I have had it for 7 years. I paid 1,000.00 for it then and would of expected it to last a lot longer than 7 years. I think it is too much weight working against the bearings of a front loader. I am going to try for a HE Top Loader now.

We purchased our LG LFX29945ST refrigerator in June of 2014 and started to have major problems in December with the refrigerator compartment freezing food. We had the temperature set at 45 degrees and it was still 30 degrees inside. Called LG for service and got terrible support. We made several calls, got disconnected/hung up on once. The smart diagnosis showed we opened the refrigerator too much (we have a family of 5 so it gets used a lot). They tried to tell us it wasnt level, but the level showed good. Lucky for us we purchased a warranty via Lowes. Lowes sent a service person out and he would sit on hold for 20-30 minutes to talk with an LG tech. Service replaced the whole inside back panel with the air control doors and thermostats along with the control board. This repair caused the refrigerator to not get cold at all. Tech came back out and was told by LG support it was the wrong control board that the LG tech told him to order. Another week later the new control board comes in and its freezing food again (temp between 28-30 degrees). We been unable to use the refrigerator for over two months. Tried to do a review on the LG website and they denied it. I guess that is how they get such good reviews by rejecting the negative ones. I cant believe that I spent over $2,000 dollars on a refrigerator that I cant use for food. At this point the Technician and I are both very frustrated with LG and still trying to resolve the issue. How can a consumer get a bad appliance replaced?

We purchased our first LG fridge in 2013 and then it was working great at the time. Got a second one for the cabin in 2017. Well... The 2017 broke and it was the compressor and this weekend the 2013 cap out, no more cold air... Probably compressor too. I certainly hope that LG will do something about their problem. Very disappointed.

The area around and under the bleach dispenser has rusted causing rust to fall into our clothing. We purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot and they and LG both indicated that this would not be covered and said that it is a cosmetic issue. We dont like our clothing getting rusty! DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHER OR AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM HOME DEPOT! This warranty (5 yrs.) is deceptive and Home Depot lied to us.

Had my dishwasher delivered 25 August 2016. On Halloween it gave error code AE. LG customer service said not their problem it is an installation issue. HHGregg came out and said no it is defective the installation was correct. The machine then gave code LE so I called LG back. They had a repair shop call me and I explained the codes. The shop ordered the parts. After days of calling they finally answered and said LG had not given them a delivery time frame and to call LG. I called LG and they said not their problem and to call shop. I called LG back and complained. After days of arguing they assigned another company because the first became unresponsive. The second and third company never contacted me and LG would say nothing but oh we are finding someone. Then I was referred to the refund/replacement department who said I would get a call on the decision. No call came so I had to call back. I called back and they said oh sorry we did not call you. It was rejected. I resubmitted because yet another repair shop was unresponsive. It is now 20 December and I may not get a decision until the 23rd. Then I get to wait 7-10 days for a refund or a new machine. LG is unwilling to accelerate the process or give me a supervisor who can make a decision. Every call I get a lecture about established procedures and timeframes that have to be followed. Reprinted receipt provided.

I am not a wealthy woman so when I bought the LG fridge I thought it would last a long time (Only replaced because my 14 yr. old fridge died). It is 2.5 years old and it quit on December 24, 2017 (our Christmas dinner sitting in that fridge was ruined). I called their customer service dept., was hung up on the first call; the girl I spoke with last did the smartphone diagnosis which truly is a joke. Said freezer door was open. It wasnt and hadnt been. All the food inside was lost, so we are now trying to make do with a small cooler to keep a few things. Dont know when or if it will be fixed. Bought at Home Depot and Ill tell you neither LG nor Home Depot is going to do anything. I dont know what Im going to do. I dont have the money to replace all the food lost. Its so very frustrating. Ive heard so many complaints since this happened. Wish there was a group lawsuit; Id join in. If you go on Home Depot site, the new customers just love them. Hope they wont have this happen but Im sure now that most will. Wish I could warn anyone whos going to buy one and I hope this helps.

We purchased a top of the line LG refrigerator Model #LFX28978ST from Home Depot on July 4th, 2012. On December 23, 2012, it quit working. It is now January 21, 2013 and I am still without a refrigerator! I called the LG Hotline on December 23rd and was told that they could have their certified repairman out on the 28th of December. He came out and told me we needed a new compressor; he didnt carry this part on his truck so it would have to be ordered. The compressor would take a week to get here. On 1/3/2013, he returned with the compressor, installed it, added Freon to the refrigerator and stayed until he felt the unit started to cool. He told us to wait 24-48 hours. Being a little gun shy about losing all of my food the first time (I had the refrigerator stocked for the holidays), I waited a little longer to go out, purchase more food and sure enough on 1/7/13, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. I called LG and was told that the repairman that had been out before was off for two weeks, and that I needed to call a different authorized repair shop. I did and was told by the person at that repair shop that they did not work on compressors and would not come out. I called LG back again, spoke with a different person and was told that our original repair person could be out on 1/10/2013. He came back out and after trying different things, we were told that the refrigerator could not be fixed and that it would have to be replaced. He gave us a fax number to fax everything to LG, which I did the next morning. I received a call from the repair center the next day and was told by Barbara from LG Repair Center that I would need to email the paperwork to her. I told her that I had faxed everything the day before. She told me that was just a general fax number and to email everything to her at an email address that she would email to me. I tried a few times to email the paperwork to her only to get error messages; the email would not go through. I called Barbara back and she gave me her fax number, so I once again faxed all of the paperwork to her. I received a call from Barbara the next day to tell me that they would have to get a replacement refrigerator from their LG warehouse, and that it would take 7-10 business days before someone would contact me to set up a delivery date. I asked her where their warehouse was located, and she told me TX; I told her that I lived in TX! I asked why so long, and she told me that they have to tell everyone that it will be 7-10 business days for someone to contact me to set up delivery. I have been a month without a refrigerator. I have spent more money on eating out and buying ice this one month than what I spend in a year’s time. Not only does LG not care, they dont care!I will never buy another LG for as long as I live. I wish that I would have seen this blog before I bought this piece of crap. I will tell all of my friends and family about this. I am hoping that they tell all of their friends and family. Also, be aware that LG is making refrigerators for Kenmore - this is from the mouth of the LG repairman!

We purchased LG French Door refrigerator 2012. Every year we have had service. I keep paying a fortune for the extended warranty increasing the cost to over $3000.00 now. Now the compressor went last Monday, and a week later, they cannot even tell me when the part will be in, it is on back order. I explained to several people that this is our only refrigerator. We lost everything in the freezer and refrigerator with the exception of some items that fit in our outdoor camp size refrigerator. We have been buying ice, for the cooler to keep milk in the house. Today they still cannot give me an ETA on the part. This is offensive, that you pay good money to purchase the product, good money to insure the product, and then you wait and I was told it take weeks. No loaner, no replacement. I WOULD TELL EVERYONE LOOKING AT REVIEWS, do your homework, do not purchase LG.

Local guy came out but out of warranty. Also they are closing or store so they couldnt service. Sears guy told me it was the compressor and that LG AND SAMSUNG both knew had bad compressors but they would sell them anyway. It is now four weeks later and service tech due out next week. We purchased LG washer WT5070VC and LG dryer DLEX5170W in November 2012. Total cost new at Home Depot was $1400. They are both broken and cost of repair is $700. I contacted LG this morning and spent three hours on the phone with them. They did several diagnostic tests over the phone. They offered nothing. They did try to set me up with a local repairman and could not find one. We contacted Home Depot on our own and paid $97 for their diagnostician to come out. His price for repairs is the $700 mentioned above for a washing machine clutch and assembly as well as the dryer vent blower. These are both minor repairs and will still have this gross total to fix. Will never purchase LG again and plan to discourage others from buying as well. If there is anything I can do to further contact LG, please let me know. I have sent an email to their customer service dept following my phone call with customer service and diagnostics this morning.

I bought my brand new LG fridge in 2008 because it had a lot of room inside. After a couple of months, Ive been having problems since; there were issues after issues. First, it was the ice maker that I needed fixed then it was the fuse. After that, it was the French doors that rubbed against each other so I couldnt close it. Then it was the side vent inside the fridge. Now, its my compressor thats not working; that’s what the service guy told me yesterday. Its on but it’s just blowing hot air inside the fridge and freezer. An LG fridge is not cheap to buy, but it is cheaply made! This LG fridge has caused me so much down time and headache from the day I bought it!

Back in 2012, I purchased $8000 worth of LG appliances for my kitchen and laundry. Long story short I have replaced the dishwasher, it could not be repaired. In September of this year, the microwave exhaust had a mind of its own. It would come on and off by itself. To use the it I would plug it in and unplug it. The part to repair it was more than half the price of a new one. In September I purchased the model LMH2235ST. A short time later the exhaust fan stopped working. I called customer service more than a dozen times. They gave me a case number and said they will call when to set up a date to come and repair. After many calls to them they kept saying they would expedite it. I have heard that several times more. I have asked them to send another to my home with a return label, but they said they could not do that. I called customer service just now December first, now I dont even get to speak to anyone, the recording says to go online. So thank you LG for nothing!!

They want us to pay for labor of fixing the washer, even though on the one-page warranty, it says nothing about having to have a technician install the warranty part. I let the company know I will continue to complain about LG to all that I know including Facebook and Twitter! I paid $2500.00 for a washer and dryer. We purchase the LG Dishwasher in 2016 along with a refrigerator. The 29.7 Cu ft refrigerator is great, the dishwasher is good, but the lower rack comes off the rails it runs on and gets sideways in the washer. When it is full, you must literally pick it up and place it back on the rails it runs on. When it is empty you still have to place it back on the rails, but it is easier for my wife to handle. We are looking for a new dishwasher in our Florida home. When we saw the LG at Home Depot, I tried every dishwasher to see if the rack would fall off. The only one that did fall off was the LG. The other dishwasher had plastic bumpers the kept it from falling off. I would love to have a fix for our 4 year old dishwasher.

Woke Saturday morning to find water on floor (from ice melting in door dispenser), warm fridge and everything melted in freezer. Big mess! Called LG. After playing 20 questions with them, they determined the compressor was bad. Would send replacement parts directly to house in 2-3 days. But the earliest a tech could come out to make the replacement is 2 weeks! Who goes without a fridge for 2 weeks? Not only did we lose all our food, I lost $5000.00 in Humera injection pens that are supposed to be stored in fridge and kept cool. Sure LG will supply their faulty compressor with a new one, (dont know if I have to pay for labor yet) but who pays for all the lost food, loss of expensive medicine, all the mess and all the inconvenience and stress of not having a fridge for 2 weeks? How are not Attorneys General not following up on all these LG customer complaints about faulty compressors? It is NOT RIGHT! We paid a lot of money for this LG fridge. Our previous one, a KitchenAid, was working fine when we replaced it with this fancy new LG fridge. The KitchenAid is still working fine at my sons home in his kitchen. How can Best Buy, Home Depot, and Lowes still be selling these terrible products?

I purchased the LG WT1101CW washing machine in Feb 2015. The machine began to malfunction in November, quitting in the middle of a wash cycle, black control panel, locking a wet load of clothing inside. Fortunately, I had purchased a Geek Squad protection plan. We went through the troubleshooting routine on the phone, to no avail, so they scheduled a repairman within 48 hours.Prior to the visit, I hit the start button on the machine and it started up again. The repairman came to take a look and couldnt see anything wrong with the washer. It ran fine for about a month and repeated same scenario. This time, repair man replaced the control panel. Ran fine for another month and began failing mid-cycle, sporadically, will reset after one, two or three tries at unplugging and replugging machine. Tonight, Ive had to reset the washer four times to get through a medium load of towels. Previously, this has happened with light and heavy loads on various cycles. I have another date with the Geek Squad.I would give this washer zero stars if I could. Im tired of having to climb over this washer to unplug, re-plug, tired of finding the machine hasnt finished washing, tired of having to set up dates where I can wait around for a tech to check out my washer. Im done with LG after this. When the machine works, Ive had fabric softener marks left on my dark clothes, using the Pure Color cycle, requiring a second rinse. The Bright Whites cycle has turned my 800 thread count Egyptian cotton, king sized sheets a dingy yellow color. There is never enough water in the machine to completely submerge any load of laundry. I wonder how clean my clothes really are. I really hate this washer.

After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!

DANGEROUS product with flimsy knobs that could start a fire. Died in only a couple of years after using and following maintenance instructions provided from LG. Rude customer service and Repair technicians. No help from extended warranty and no proof shown to us that backed their findings. Buyer beware if you have small children or pets, the bottom oven door easily opens and could be tripped or pulled down while on or off. Knobs, logos and Black Stainless Steel peeled, faded and discolored after the first few months (also denied to fix or replace because they claimed wear and tear.)My Experience. We purchased our dual oven from Best Buy a few years ago and instantly had problems. The stove would turn on just from barely bumping the nobs and melted anything close to it. (Like bringing in groceries and the bag and food sitting to close.) Then after a few months the black stainless started to peel off and the knobs started to turn a goldish color and the wording was gone. The LG logo fell off as well... After contacting Best Buy where we had a purchased a 5 year extended warranty they gave us the runaround about wear and tear.We bought this oven because we wanted a oven that we could easily clean. I am disabled and was the primary caregiver for my mother who was on a transplant list and was in and out of the hospital. I watched reviews and saw the options for self cleaning and easy clean. Which I had to have because I didnt have the mobility or strength to put hours into scrubbing a oven clean. My mother and I both take immuno suppression medications for our different health problems and keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized is extremely important....The cleaning features were downright worthless. I followed the cleaning instructions and still had to get down and scrub and clean the oven until my knees were bruised.Fast forward to a few weeks ago. I noticed when I would cook the stove top wasnt heating up near as fast as it used to and the oven was only half baking the food. (I would have to rotate the food because the front part of the oven wasnt evenly cooking the food.) About a week after I noticed the problems with the oven it died. Only thing working was the clock...I went into Best Buy to get my receipt reprinted with my warranty information and called and scheduled a repair request and someone came out and inspected the oven. The man from LG took the whole oven apart and very rudely told us they werent going to warranty the oven. When we asked why he started heading toward the door and said someone would be calling us in a minute. My mom asked him why he couldnt explain and show us the issue. He stopped because I think he was expecting the person from the warranty place to call us immediately and came back to the kitchen. He told us our oven was filthy and the fan inside the oven was seized up from all the grease and the motors were blown...We asked him how that could happen and he said its because we didnt follow the cleaning instructions and abused it.... He said grease and food got into the fans and couldnt show us how the food got to where he was saying the fans were located. He made us feel and look like slobs. I pulled out the bottle that came with the oven for cleaning and the items I used to clean and care for the oven and he said we didnt clean the fans.... Where does it say I have to disassemble the oven to get to the fans that are built into the roof of the top and bottom ovens? He said the range had food falling into it from the cracks.... There are no cracks on my stove top, the seals are still sealed and theres no way food would ever fall into it from the top....We spent $1700.00 for a oven that was supposed to be the best dual oven on the market, and would look brand new because it was smudge proof, easy to clean and would last forever. We have had nothing but problems and now we have $1700.00 sitting in our foyer because we have no clue what to do. We had to get a cheap oven from Rent a Center because we cant afford a replacement. We have been waiting to get a call back about the second opinion they were supposed to send out to look the oven over again. And they never showed or returned our calls.Worst experience Ive had with a brand and after talking to others about how dangerous the oven is because of the knobs and the poor quality of the fake stainless steel and the undisclosed cleaning instructions LGs technician said we didnt follow. I will never recommend another product from LG and will make sure everyone knows of how I was treated.

LG Ultra Capacity WM2101HW Washer Garbage. I purchased this LG washer based upon the reviews of Consumer Reports - BIG MISTAKE. This washer has been loud from day 1 and started leaking about 4 months later. As others have said it unbalances and gives error codes often. I had it repaired once because it stopped draining. A technician visit and parts cost $400 -- that is when I learned that you actually have to drain it yourself. Who designs such a washer in this day and age? Now brown liquid is coming out of the back of the machine and my clothes and sheets smell like sewer after they have been through a complete cycle. I leave the door and soap compartment open between uses. What a waste of money - horrible product. DO NOT BUY LG. I will replace this POS as soon as I can afford.

Bought a LG topload washer and dryer on Feb 21, 2014, on March 21, 2015 the circuit board fried. I contacted LG and they had given me the extended warranty, so kudos for them for that. From there the bottom drops out. For over a week they said that no repair shop would come and fix it because I lived too far out, I looked them up and there were two within 10 miles of me. Finally I asked them what address they had, for some reason they had an address that we hadnt lived at in over 7 years. Got that fixed and a week later the repair guy shown up for 10 minutes to tell me that the board is fried and they will have to order one. So they order it and they deliver the wrong part, he calls LG and orders again, explains to them what he needs. They send exactly the same part, so he opens a claim. That was over two weeks ago, I have called them at least 3 times a week only to be told that they have to order the part, but they cant tell me when they will get it. They have put me on hold for over 30 minutes, hung up on me while I was explaining to them what was going on. It has been a nightmare, just got off the phone with LG and the guy was very nice and apologetic, and said he will escalate it, but I have been told that several times. We now have a $900.00 paper weight sitting in our laundry room and LG has been no help. They gave us the extended warranty, but it is looking like that was just to appease us as they cannot tell me when it might get fixed. Never buy LG again. Have no idea where to go from here, but wait more.

I have an LG dryer. I only put a 1/2 load of laundry in on the energy saver mode. After a 63 minute cycle the clothes are as wet as when I put them in. LG said that the dryer is functioning as normal. They said I am supposed to hang all my clothes after the cycle is complete if I want to use energy saver mode. They did a remote diagnostic and said there are no malfunctions. My dryer is under warranty and they said if they come out and there is not a manufacture malfunction I will be charged for the service call even though my dryer is under warranty. I will never buy another LG product again.

My refrigerator is 4 months old. Recently we came home to a strong acetone smell in the house and noticed that appliance was not cooling. Called LG for warranty repair and they set up a service visit for 2 days later. I called the service company 3 times that day to confirm, left messages without hearing back. Missed one day of work. Called LG that same Friday and was told to a service company would come out the next Monday (3 more days with no fridge). They arrived Monday and determined that there was a Freon leak in one of the coils. They ordered parts. I then called LG and requested that they replace the 4-month old appliance and they refused. They said that the repair service would have to label the unit unrepairable. The parts then arrived on Wed. I called the service company and they came out in Thursday to complete the repair (3 days of missing work). After the repair in Friday, (9 days without fridge) the acetone smell continued for several hours. The freezer never really kicked in. I am now attempting to set up another service call. DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES!!!

We purchased a LG 3 door fridge with ice and water two years ago. Did some updating in the kitchen and decided it would be nice to have one last new one... The one we replaced it with was a 25+ year old side by side GE... Still worked fine, never did a repair to it, but this LG was so pretty.. All electronic computerized.. Almost two years to the day we got it, it has died taking everything stored in it with it? This is so disheartening for retired people that just want one last nice thing in their lives... I bought a new LG washer and Dryer, and a new 70 inch LG tv... Praying these don’t go out like the fridge! Be cautious about buying an LG!

I love this stove but the knobs are very dangerous. My son and husband almost caught on fire by leaning over to use the microwave. My son and I felt ill to discover a knob was slightly turned putting out gas. A slight brush against the knobs is all it takes. I get up all night scared someone has brushed against that stove and I would not recommend this product because of this safety hazard. Otherwise I love all my LG products. Follow up on my three-yr refrigerator that broke down, not even the lights turn on. Last Friday, the repairman was to arrive between 1pm and 5pm. I do not reside at the rental. At 2:43pm, I called their 800# and told them to have the repairman call me on my cell that I would be at my aunts house who lives 3 blocks away on the same street. The woman said, No problem, he will call you before he arrives. At 3;30 I called back. And asked what time was the man arriving. They responded this call has been cancelled, he arrived and left. I said he never called me on my cell, I am still waiting. They responded there is nothing we can do, call center is closed. I asked them what country are they in that the call center is closed. She said the call center is in Alabama and they are closed. They only work from 8-5pm. The woman in India never told the repairman to call me on the cell and I dont think that those people can call the repairman. The only one that can call is a supervisor and he is in another building. When I requested a supervisor, it took me 20 minutes on hold to finally speak to one. At the end, he ended up hanging up on me. Now I contacted Sears and will wait for them to find out if my refrigerator has a solution or do I just lose the $1500.00 that I paid four yrs ago. I refuse to pay $400.00 to repair a refrigerator that is not worth repairing. Never buy an LG product.

Has been a good product overall. Some of the plastic parts have broken - cheaply made - but otherwise reliable. Has held up well over the last several years but at around 10 years starting to show some wear on the drum suspension from what I can tell. Guess most washers are only made to last at most 10 years. Then when a repairman came to see why it was shaking more than usual would probably be more prudent to buy a new washer than have the old one fixed.

Bought a LG Dryer and washer combo in April 2015 and I am so disappointed in myself in doing so. Since I bought it I am having issues with dryer. The clothes catching the lint filter since day 1 and it has ruined so many of my clothes. I have done small loads, big loads, using protective nets for bras and fine pieces of clothing and nothing helped so far, I have not complained yet and I just dealt with it and threw the twisted clothing pieces in the garbage, every time it happened but this morning when I woke up and found the entire load of my summer clothes twisted in a giant rope look a like this brought me to an edge. The dryer filter will not completely seal and it has caught clothing on the corner and it twisted it until every piece of clothing was ruined and even opened the door of the dryer on its own. I did not where to start to unwind the clothes, this is terrible. I will NEVER, EVER buy an LG product again EVER. I was so in shock and started unwinding clothes without thinking to take a picture of that terrible sight.

LG refrigerator LFX25960SB. My problem is the same as the one found over countless number of similar complaints on LG refrigerators - after a short period of ownership, the cooling area keeps shutting off with error code ā€œER DHā€. How is it that there are so many complaints and there is no recall on these problem parts or at least a class action suit? This is strictly a review. I purchased this washer (LG Washer WT110CW) as to the high standard that Consumer Reports gave it. I hate it. Your standard wash cycle is 57 minutes. There is a load for bulky, whites, etc. but some have a cycle up to 113 minutes. They do have a quick load of 35 minutes, but thats the least. Then it spins to the point of almost drying and your clothes by then are so wrinkled, that the dryer will not take them out and now I have to iron these items. It was over $600 with tax, so I just cant go buy another one. Way too much computerized options that take forever. I want my Kenmore back that gave me very little problems and a load was done in 30 minutes (no matter what it was).

I am terribly disappointed with this machine. First of all my clothes are dull and whites are GRAY. I have followed both the companys recommendations and the store where I purchased the machine’s advice. And they are still dull/gray. My other problem is that I have to constantly readjust the clothes... this last load took 12 times pulling the wet clothes out and rearranging them. This washing machine wont even do a tub clean without the uneven light code coming on. I have called LG numerous times and can barely understand the person that I am speaking to. The repair person has come out twice and once replaced the whole motor, but this has not solved the uneven/balance problem. Im terribly upset with the performance of this expensive machine and I dont know what to do about it. My advice is to not even think about purchasing this LG top loading washing machine.

We purchased a washer and dryer set in December. The week of June 22nd I called because the washer stopped working. The technician was sent out on June 26th and it was determined that 5 parts must be replaced because it was defective. They were suppose to be replaced on June 29th and the technician called to tell me the parts didnt arrive over the weekend and he would hopefully call me to come back out on July 1st. It is now July 14th and we STILL do not have a washer! I paid for a BRAND new washer, not a defective one. This is UNACCEPTABLE that this is taking this long! I have called the 1-800 number several times and every time, Im told that it should be here tomorrow. I am having to go pay to wash my clothes at a laundromat. I am tired of the run around! I want this taken care of and I want it explained to me how a brand new product that is currently still being sold can take this long to be fixed! Your product and your customer service has much to be desired!

My refrigerator (LSXS22423) a side by side is 2 years and 3 months old. Wasnt making ice Sunday and by Monday everything in freezer was thawed. The compressor is shot!! Really... 2 years??? I was told by a person who SELLS LG refrigerators that he wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Their compressors are known to die after about 2 years... Really?? He said even if you wanted to repair it they would use the same compressor model that failed and since so many of them are failing we are looking at a 3 to 4 month wait-list... Really?? I bought a whole new LG kitchen 2 years ago. My fault I did not read the reviews first. Totally my fault, but when you pay $1700 for a fridge you expect more than two years out of it. I had a GE before and had it for 18 years. Still worked when I bought my precious LG. I am a senior who has to watch his money and this situation just makes me sick. I dont deserve this nor do any of the other LG customers who have been screwed. Where is the Quality Control?? It is a crime and you should be ashamed. 2 years... REALLY?? Yeah, really!!!

Now, more often than not, it goes out of balance with a UE code and, occasionally, the power button will not work. I contacted customer service and was informed that I am out of area for factory service but that they would schedule a local repair service and get back to me. Instead, I got an email telling me how to load a washing machine (Ive only been doing that for about 50 years) and ignoring the power button problem. And the email stated on the bottom that it is not possible to answer one of their emails. Right now, I am thinking about small claims court.

For more than a week, the LG customer service representatives have repeatedly made mistakes in a simple request form for an authorization to ship a compressor that was under warranty. As a result, a wedding party is arriving and there will not be a working refrigerator. From failing to get my name and address, to failing to get the address of the service technician correctly (they got that wrong twice), and, finally, when they finally did send out the authorization form it was incorrect, it had the wrong technicians name and address. I called yet again, this was after a full week had gone by, to alert them yet again. They said they had fixed it, emailed a second authorization letter, which did arrive. But it also had the wrong technicians name and address. So I had to call yet again. This time they told me Oooops, this time we had the technicians number wrong. So they again assured me they would have it fixed promptly and resend it. Several hours have gone by, and we still do not have the authorization letter. During this ordeal, two LG customer service representatives promised to call me back to be sure the problems were resolved. Neither did. A third has just asked if she can call me back again. I declined. I am currently on hold waiting to find out the status of our authorization letter. It baffles me that a corporate entity could have any kind of international credibility with a customer service system which is so profoundly incompetent.

Bought this top-of-the-line LG April 2013, 10 year linear compressor. Compressor died after a year and 4 months, they cover the part only which requires almost $500 in labor. Talking to LG, I believe takes you to a foreign country phone bank. They are no help at all. They kept asking when I bought it and I said, You have the information. I filled out the warranty card. They said, That doesnt go to us, and admitted that the warranty cards go to a third-party. In other words they sell the information obtained on the so-called warranty card. I finally found the receipt in my tax file, otherwise wouldve had no warranty at all. They covered about $380 in parts. $600 of food spoiled and all that labor on a new $3000 refrigerator.

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

This was the number one rated range on several different websites so I thought Id found a winner. Ive had nothing but problems since the day this was delivered and the worst part is that LG has the WORST customer service department I have ever had to deal with. A recent chat representative even wrote that she will go one step a time for me reading from the manual. I have a masters degree in nursing, I can read directions! The stove comes set up for natural gas and it took 2 technicians almost 2 hours to get this set up and installed. Cost me an additional $320 and yes, these were experienced technicians from a reputable company, but very little is known about this model. First issue was that the ultraheat burner would not ignite and had a flare up issue when it did. I had to get approval from LG for a service call and again, even the company of their choice knew very little about this stove. He had to call LG for help from there who talked him through the repair. The upper oven was burning just about everything I tried to bake so I asked him to check that. The oven was set at 350 and his professional digital external thermometer was reading 425 degrees AFTER the preheat cycle and took forever to come anywhere near 350 degrees. The instructions tell you how to adjust the oven temps, but the (+) does not appear on the digital display, as stated in the manual, so you have no idea if the adjustments your making are even effective! After burning lots and lots of food, I finally got the oven to semi work. I put a high quality thermometer in the oven and it was all over the place 300-425 degrees during the baking cycle. Now lets talk about the lower oven. From day one there was a terrible odor which I was told was just from it being new. Again, it burned just about everything I put in so I started playing with the adjustment feature. It got to a point where some rolls were golden brown on top, but the bottoms were barely done, but at least they werent burnt! Not to mention that this thing sounds like you have a jet engine running in your kitchen! Now, heres the real kicker. This morning I opened the lower oven to move the rack and the entire inside was black, covered in soot (see photo of rag I used to wipe just the bottom). I tried to call LG but they refused to let me speak to the technical department to see if this was normal for a new oven or if I needed yet another service call. I was told this department only speaks to other technicians. I called Lowes and this piece of junk will be on its way back to the store later this week. Thank heaven I purchased it from Lowes, at least someone stands behind the products they sell.

I purchased a new LG top load washer from Home Depot 2 years ago and it has been a nightmare ever since. It cost $899 and I thought it was going to last at least 10 years, my other machine lasted 20 years. I promise one thing I will never, ever purchase any product from LG in my life. I now have to junk a 2 year old LG machine and get a $300 machine. My old washing machine gave out and I invested in what I thought was going to be a good washer. I decided to splurge a bit in order to get a good washer. I purchased from a 3rd party (JCPenney) so it took 4 weeks plus an additional 2 weeks because it was on back order. So for 6 weeks I was going to the laundromat. I took the day off work to be available for delivery. The delivery guys dropped it off, hooked it up and checked it and it was working. I did my first load of laundry and it would not complete a load. It gave me an error message. All day long I tried different ways around it and nothing. My husband changed the water hoses since it said it was the water pressure and nothing. We called LG that evening and basically was told because it was the water pressure in our home that they would not send a repairman. Our house is very new and our old washer worked fine water pressure wise. We told them to just take it back then and they agreed.Very long story short they would tell us they would take it back and or send a repairman and nothing would happen. We would call back and same promises and nothing. JCPenney has called them various times to have them send someone to repair and they refuse. Now its 2 weeks out and we, JCPenney and even the delivery people have called various times to get it repaired or returned and they refuse. Its insane were having to go through this kind of trouble when its brand new out of the box and we bought warranties on it. Im extremely disappointed in the way LG is handling this situation and I will never buy another LG appliance in my life nor will I recommend to anyone that they do either. They have lost a good customer because we are loyal to brands that are good to us. I wish they would just take this dang washer, refund us and we could just get a different brand. July 16, 2014, we had our new LG stainless steel refrigerator delivered to our home and we were so excited. That excitement was short lived. It had been a few days before I could get to remove the plastic sheeting that was on the front of the doors and when I did start to remove the plastic sheeting I noticed there were small rust spots going down both side of the door. First I thought that stainless steel should not be rusting, and then said to my husband there are more spots all over the sides of the door. I then placed a call to Home Depot Store and informed them of the rust spots and that I wanted them to fix the problem. Home Depot told us to call LG. We placed a call to LG and were informed they DO NOT FIX COSMETIC problems. It was delivered like this.Home Depot had a local Refrigerator repair company come to look at the Rust on the side of my new refrigerator door; even this repairman was baffle as to what could have caused the rust spots. This repairman couldnt remove the spots after spending more than hour in my home. We got the run around for most of the first day and for four weeks following the first phone call. We called Home Depot back and threatened to return this new LG Refrigerator to the front doors of Home Depot and or report this unhappily experience to the local media outlets. We have finally been informed Home Depot will take care of this problem. Its been over two months since we purchased this rust bucket and the rusty refrigerator is still in my kitchen. Moral of the story, DONT PURCHASE LG. We learned the hard way, LG does not stand behind their products and is not customer friendly.

I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LGs plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them. After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (dont ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they wont supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I dont have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.

We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.

I bought this very expensive refrigerator 3 years and have had nothing but problems. The first issues was the water line for the icemaker was leaking into the door, the entire icemaker and door needed to be replaced. (tons of black mold on the door that was removed). Then last year the compressor broke and needed to be replaced. Now the compressor is broken again and needs to be replaced. The repair guys from LG were here today, but they dont have any parts so I have to wait another week before they will put the part in. I have 80 people coming to my house for a party this weekend and no refrigerator!!!

Purchased a LG 1.5 ft.³ smart inverter microwave oven in August 2019. Three weeks later the unit quit heating. I called LG customer support and was eventually told the magnetron was defective. I was told I could send the microwave back to LG and they would replace me with a brand new one. Not wanting to wait, I decided to return the microwave to Home Depot where it was purchased and was given a full refund. Because Home Depotā€˜s return policy includes a 90 day exchange or refund, I decided to purchase a different brand. The moral to this story is don’t wait on LG to refund, replace, or repair your appliance if it is newer than three months. Take it back to the store you bought it from instead. Far less stressful.

The Washing Machine actually adds minutes and takes forever. We are careful to balance the clothes and only fill half-way and this damn error code keeps flashing. The machine stops and fills with water. Service people are useless. We just bought this machine a few months ago. Now my wife and I have no choice but to do our laundry at a Laundromat. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. It is a piece of crap.
