I bought a front loader (LG True Balance) in December 2011. My clothes don’t seem to get cleaned, I watched it run its cycle and it doesnt run like the sales lady said, it will go clockwise 4 tumbles then hesitate, goes counter clockwise 4 times and hesitate and then continues like that the whole wash cycle. It spends more time not doing anything than tumbling. My daughter bought a Frigidaire and I watched that run and it runs like the sales lady said mine should run. It tumbles on both directions but for about 1 minute and only stops for a bit nothing, like mine.
We have only had this washer 6 years and when the display reads 10 it doesn’t go any further toward zero. It will run For about 20 minutes and then Give a UE error which is basically saying the load is not balanced. But if it is empty then how is it out of balance? Then you call for a service place to look at it and they want to charge $90 just to show up which forces most people to trying to figure it out on their own. Has anyone else had this same problem And could offer the remedy for it?
I have had my LG since 2008 since then the freezer drawer broke, the ice-maker broke and this morning I woke up to a refrigerator and freezer full of full that is no longer usable. Realized the refrigerator light was on all night, the door was shut, it melted the light cover and ruined the food. I will not ever buy another LG. I only wish I had read the reviews before purchasing.....
I bought a LG refrigerator. Now 5 years old. It quit working. Started by calling the 800 number for LG repair. That was on July 27th 2020. Getting a call center out of the United States. They were very nice for the most part. A little hard to understand. I started getting texts with repair service would be in touch. I would wait and not hear anything. Call again. Again promise I would hear from them. This has gone on mind you since July, 27th 2020. Not getting anything done. I paid $100 for a service call. Was told there is a leak in the Freon line and maybe a fan problem. So again I call the 800 number. Was told I would get a email to send the proof of purchase. What they know I have it. I got all the information ready. As of today Oct. 28th of Oct nothing has happened. Thank You for letting me vent.
Ive had my washer for approximately 2 years. In the past Ive stuck with well respected brands such as Kenmore. I was hesitant to try a new brand, but my daughter has an LG TV that shes been pleased with, so I thought Id give LG a try. Ive raised three children and now have a grandchild, my husbands a mechanic and we farm as well, so Ive put washers through a lot over the 30+ years of married life. Ive never had a washing machine rust before this one. The compartment that is specifically designed for bleach is all rusted out, so I now wait until the washer is full and just dispense the bleach directly into the load. The back of lid that you cant see is also rusted. I take good care of my appliances by wiping them down and keeping dust off of them on a regular basis, so this isnt operators fault, this is poor materials and manufacturing. This also does not have the center agitator like the old designs and it just doesnt get my clothes as clean as with the agitator bar. I did read about the mildew smell that can occur in these new HE washers and Ive avoided this by leaving the lid and soap dispensers open after each load to air things out. Ive also been using the tub clean cycle with the special Tide cleaner about once every two months. Needless to say, I will not be buying anymore LG products. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Purchased LG 4 piece kitchen bundle - Black Stainless Steel; fridge (LMXC23746D), stove, micro and dishwasher. Ive noticed for the past few months that paint is peeling around the handles, borders/edges of the doors. I called LG for the fridge, I had to purchase extended warranty for 60 days for them to come out and check the fridge. Technician took pics, dont know what they going to do to repair, Im guessing Im going to have purchase extended warranty for micro, stove, they have same problem/issue. Anybody have problems or issues as me?Updated on 5/19/2017: Technician came out 5/8/17, took pictures of the refrigerator. Today I called them since they havent called regarding issue. I spoke to customer service. They said cosmetics issues is not covered. So my issue will not be fixed!!! Not only is the refrigerator, but the stove, microwave too! Call an attorney? Im still paying for this LG bundle!! Help!!! Confirmation # with LG - **.
Fridge is 4 years old. Bought new from Future Shop. Two adult person home and the magnets that hold the bottom door shut do not work anymore unless you push the door shut manually after opening and closing the top door. Highly annoying and the fridge runs far too much because not everybody remembers to push the door closed.
Been without a refrigerator for 2 months and LG doesn’t care. Shipping the parts takes forever and they don’t care about their customers. I called them many times. Living in AZ without a refrigerator is non human. Why do they charge so much and then not care. So sad. Will never buy LG products again.
LG customer service is the worst ever. Ive been dealing with them for almost a week and as of yet no one has called me back. They either have me on hold for three hours or they disconnect me. They that they understand and they or that they are sorry. I have a child with special needs and a special diet and they dont even care. My refrigerator its on its third repair. I just want a new replacement or financial reimbursement. I would never buy an LG appliance and I advise anyone who is thinking of purchasing an LG refrigerator to stay away and purchase another brand.
LG Fridge Compressor dead 5 years after purchase, just after warranty expired. Contact LG support and only get a text link that doesnt work with Android phone..when enter description, which is mandatory, the Submit and Back button disappear, so cant send message. No way to speak to a human. Local repair companies wont work on this model fridge and if they do, it is cheaper to buy a new one. LG phone that is 2-3 years old is also no longer functioning correctly, battery dead after 30 minutes of surfing, blacks out, and freezes up daily. Im in IT at work so am careful with all electronics. Need a new fridge and phone. Not buying LG anymore! Out over $2,500.00 this month on LG and no customer service seems to be available to speak to. Life is NOT GOOD.:/
I love that it is a smart fridge. It makes ice and always stays cold. I dont have to worry about getting another one any time soon. I love it, its great for me and my family. There is no other like it. Nothing I wouldnt change anything as it is perfect the way that it is. I always tell my family and friends about this brand so hopefully they will get them one and enjoy as much as I do. It was the best fridge that they had in the store and it also matches the style that I have in my house. I wouldnt want to miss out on getting it before someone else does. Its awesome.
We purchased a LG 25 cu ft refrigerator on 11-21-13. Not a small expense, $1400.00, on sale, too. Model LFC25776ST. It lasted less than 2 years. We called the company, and got NO more than an answering machine, leave your message, and well call you back. NOTHING happened. There was NO response from the company. I will NEVER do business with LG again, and am still angry at the lack of concern or even response from the company. LG has shown exactly NO corporate responsibility.
The drum spun off its base when in the spin cycle . It was only filled with intimate clothing . It slammed into the inside front panel of the washer with me standing in front of the machine. I called LG and they want proof of purchase..Which we have...Then they will review..then they will decide if it meets criteria for repair....then they will find a service person....then they will schedule an appointment for repair on a washer that they knew was on recall all along! Maybe 5 to 10 days later! I have a family of 6...one trip to the laundry mat is 50.00 to 80.00 depending on blankets with urine etc. In 10 days we will be out the cost of a washer. What kind of help is that! At home depot we paid 1945.00 for the washer and dryer set on 12/08/11. That is the type of customer service you receive from LG for your dollars...so BADDDDD! DONT DO IT!
Purchased the complete LG black stainless kitchen set up for our newly constructed home. Appliances were purchased at Sears and delivered by them to our new home. Microwave was badly damaged off the truck so it was reordered (Sears fault). Dishwasher, Refrigerator, and Double oven were not damaged as we examined the boxes for exterior crushing or creases. The dishwasher leaked like a sieve the first time we used it!! My husband checked to make sure all hoses were attached properly and all fittings were tight. We could not use the dishwasher at all as it leaked so badly it was ruining our new flooring and leaking into our basement.I took a video as we pulled out the unit and ran it and it was obvious that the leak was coming from the back of the unit. LG repair came over and determined that it was damaged at delivery! I still had the box. No damage to the unit during delivery. LG refused after months and months and pic after pic sent to their US offices and their South Korean offices. This unit was dropped and creased across the back during manufacturing and they kept telling me that it was Sears fault. I could not, in good conscience, blame Sears as I had personally examined the box when it arrived at our home. After 10 mos. of arguing with LG, I went to the local Sears store where we had purchased not just the 4 LG appliances, but a beer fridge, for the basement and a freezer for the basement as well totaling more than $11,000 in one purchase. We had also purchased appliances from them in the past. The new store manager, upon hearing my story from the saleswoman from whom we purchased our appliance, made it right. I told him that I never relented on the story that it was not Sears fault but a manufacturers defect. He appreciated my honesty with LG and replaced the dishwasher.Moving on now to the microwave. After finally receiving the new microwave 3 months after the other appliances were delivered. It was only 5 mos. before the digital display started acting wacky. Then the microwave worked intermittently. Again, I called LG. They assured me that they do not have manufacturing defects as their quality control is above reproach. I said, Great sent me a repairman as it is under warranty. Scott, from LG, ordered a new door which contained all the inner workings of the unit but it was the wrong color. He reordered, came by and replaced it only to find it didnt work either as a week later it was acting like the door he just replaced. Finally Scott was able to get the right door and it works. That process took 2 months.Just before Thanksgiving, 2017, we noticed just under the handle of our new refrigerator, the paint was peeling off of the black stainless finish. It is not an area of the door that we touch regularly or even at all except to wipe down. After the holiday, I sucked it up and called LG once again. LG in South Korea told us the warranty was up on the refrigerator and there was nothing they could do. I told her to take a look at the history on our previous appliance issues and that it may be time for us to possibly file suit with the company as now its 3 out of 4 of their garbage products that have caused us no end of grief and that Sears has documentation and I have pictures and other paperwork accumulated over the year from hell since we made the purchase of their products. She put me on hold!Scott came into our lives once again and ordered a new door and installed as we decorated our Christmas tree! I thanked him and told him that our oven would probably go afoul soon and we may see him again. He answered questions I had about the knobs on the front of our LG stove that when bumped, turn on without you knowing and have emitted gas. My worry is that I will bump a knob and be on my way out rather than the 3 times it happened while we were home and smelled the gas fumes. Scott said there was some kind of kit we could get to prevent the problem. Why didnt LG tell us that at some point. I will order it as soon as I finish this post to assure the safety of our home and family. Please do not purchase appliances from LG! They are dishonest in their dealings and lied to us over and over and I have it documented. Some of their local repair affiliates are hand in hand with them and lie for them without doing their work. They walk in and determine it was someone elses fault and tell you to go after them. Sears in North Olmsted, OH made the situation with the dishwasher they sold us right. I cannot thank them enough. Sears has a contract with LG and other manufacturers that says that Sears repair may not touch LG products that are under warranty. They are not allowed to look at your appliance if it is under LGs warranty or the warranty becomes null and void. The consumer is at the mercy of the manufacturer as we were and the manufacturer, LG, is dishonest in their dealings.
$3,000 5-yr.-old top of the line LG refrigerator still not fixed after 5 weeks! Horrible customer service! LG has not been able to repair it in 5 weeks with 6 visits from repairman. BTW: ONLY PARTS are covered by LG warranty, not labor. If your LG fridge breaks the day after you buy it, YOU pay for labor, and each call involves a minimum of two visits by repairman - one to look at it so he can order parts (they keep nothing in stock) and at least one return to try to fix it.The repairman suggested on his FIRST visit that we BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR, before he even ordered the new compressor. They do not want to honor warranty. They want you to give up and buy a new appliance! He actually said refrigerators do not last more than 5 years! My son in law has spent hours on the phone (mostly on hold) trying to arrange repairs, been transferred to departments that are closed, been told to call back tomorrow (when departments are closed), and been told that the earliest available repair appointment was 4 weeks away! He has been hung up on. He has been told that they cannot access his records and that the only department that can access his records is not open today (Friday). The repairman suggested more than once that we buy a new refrigerator instead of requiring LG to honor their warranty. Who spends $3,000 on a fridge they expect to last only 5 years?
I shudder reading the complaints and expect only the best from my new machine which is doing fine so far. But I am 51 and I cannot reach into the washer to take out washed clothes unless I stand on a stool. I did not buy stackables because in a few years, I will be 80 and I didnt want to be standing on a stool to remove clothes from a stacked dryer. Thats an accident waiting to happen. But guess what--Im on the step stool now! Arrrrrrrrrrgh.
Bought a LRMVS3006S. 30 cu. ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator with Craft Ice™ Maker less than 2 week ago. Ice maker did not work after 60 hour wait recommended when I called LG after waiting 48 hours for icemaker to function. Then we noticed that temperatures are not reaching the low levels needed. Result: Spoiled food!!! They sent a technician to fix it (which we reluctantly agreed to). Technician showed up 10 days after we bought fridge. What did he say? No fix. Problems with compressor and we dont even have the parts to fix it. The thing is, we do not want our brand new - not cheap - refrigerator fixed! We want it replaced or receive a full refund!!!. Almost two weeks and still dealing with insurance we bought to cover it and LG not responding. After always buying all appliances LG brand, this is the end of our LG preference in this household for sure.
Beware of LG front loader washing machine WD13020D, especially for Australian users. The plastic wash drum which surrounds the stainless steel wash bowl is easily pierced by Australian fifty-cent piece. LG wont accept responsibility and said the hole in the plastic drum is caused by foreign body (indigenous fifty-cent piece. Natural habitat: pockets). I have heard of several instances of this happening.
Have a LG refrigerator one year old and the shelves are already broken - it will be a year old this May. There is a bad smell coming from the back of the refrigerator like a dead animal. Called LG and they did send the shelf but they would not take off the smell - they are telling us its the filter inside of the refrigerator and it is not covered. If this is something I can not get to myself it should be covered. I am telling you do not buy a LG. I had a dishwasher a few years ago and it only lasted two years. I should have learned my lesson. Please do not make a mistake. Do not Buy.
I have to defrost the base of the fridge about every two weeks, ice dispenser jams up. Unable to get warranty service so warranty is a false claim.
This is first time I had problem with washer and dryer. The washer is terrible smell like sewer while using and after use. The mold around the front end door creates black mold. Also the rubber gasket is not properly designed. As soon we bought the machine it leaked terribly wetting the whole wooden floor many times. We called the LG within 1 year warranty period. The repair men came and fixed it but it happened again. I have fix it on my own. BAD, BAD... BAD design and BAD machine. I will not anyone to buy this machine. There are many other brands in the market you want to consider but never ever LG washer. The dryer is takes longer than normal time other dryers will take. Worse machine. They should be stopped in the USA market completely unless they replace all the faulty machines or refund or correct the problems.
Dont do it!!! Do not invest in a LG Front Loader Washing Machine!! It is the worst washing machine, the most I have ever paid for a washing machine I have ever owned. Here you go: 1) There is a terribly designed trap door at the bottom left where you are supposed to a) clean your filter and b) drain your tub out if pump breaks or any other problem with water remaining in tub. Well, if the tub gets full of water and doesnt drain out, the tube doesnt work and you open the lint cleaner and water goes all over your floor. It is horrible. I really hate this washing machine. Now it is 2 years old and the WATER PUMP had to be changed out. OMG, what a disaster of an investment. Please listen to me: DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS WASHING MACHINE.
Model WT4870CW. My brand new $720 LG washing machine takes 30 minutes to fill with water at each cycle! Hot water turns cold. It actually washes clothes by soaking them forever.
We purchased a new French Door Counter Depth LG refrigerator when we moved into our new home in April 2016. Within the first year, it stopped cooling. I called LG and requested a new refrigerator. I also called Best Buy where we purchased the refrigerator to see if they could do anything. They said because we didn’t buy their extended warranty, they could do nothing. LG sent a technician but it took over a week to get repaired. We lost all refrigerated items. After the first repair, it failed again and took a while to get a repair technician. We lost another refrigerator full of food. Shortly, it failed again within the first year. I again requested a new refrigerator. LG sent two different technicians, who worked on the refrigerator for about 5 hours, taking everything apart. I did not have any confidence that it would not fail again. In August 2019, it failed again. I called LG, who gave me a list of authorized technicians. We could not deal with more repairs, failures or lost food so we purchased a new different refrigerator. I would never recommend an LG product after our experience.
We purchased an LG French Door LFXS29626B refrigerator 1 1/2 year’s ago and it stopped working about three weeks ago. All the food In the bottom freezer dethawed and no ice is disowning from the door. I have called LG numerous times and had their tech out three times. He said it was the compressor and ordered the part, came back five days later installed another part (apparently just because the part came in what appeared to be a new box did not mean it was a new part). It still doesnt work. Meanwhile we’ve been living out of coolers and LG gives excuse after excuse when I ask to speak to a supervisor. Had I known about the class action suits that have been brought against this company I would not have bought this piece of junk. As for “customer service” LG would does not know what that is or care to provide it. This has truly been a horrendous experience and they should be held accountable.
Wow, I will never ever deal with LG again as long as I live! Worst company. We just purchased our fridge, an LG model LTC22350SS/00. Meanwhile, all of our GE appliances work fine! This fridge hasnt worked from day one. I have been on with about 20 reps from LG and have gotten nowhere until I threatened to take them to court and call my local channel 7 news. And believe me, I will. These people just want to fix the broken part and blame you for all the fridges problems. I am done. I will continue to fight until I have a brand new fridge or my money back! I will keep you posted. Junk. Junk!
LG Dishwasher LDS4821 - We purchased our LG dishwasher in mid 2012. Our first bad experience was with the installation, as the legs supporting this monster are made of plastic and the installers completely broke the frame. (I found out when it starting tilting and had to call Home Depot, who replaced the dishwasher). These dishwashers are so flimsy, they never sit correctly between the cabinets and require occasional adjustments to keep the door from scraping the sides of the cabinets. The next problem was a strange scraping noise that would occur during the wash cycle... Turned out to be the pump, which was also leaking, which rusted out the motor. Our repair guy replaced both. The next repair was with the bottom door seal, which was leaking water. Within months after the stated repairs, the HE heating element light started flashing and the dishwasher wouldnt complete the cycle. Once again, our repair guy came out, tested the heating element (which was working) and determined that the control panel was malfunctioning and needed replacement. Now on to the minor issues: detergent door may or may not open during the wash cycle, bottom rack has a tendency to stick and requires being lifted and re-seated, dishwasher may or may not do a good job washing the dishes (depending on its mood that day). At the time of purchase, we were remodeling and bought all LG appliances. After the above experiences, I will never buy their appliances again.
We purchased our LG top loading washing machine back in 2010 from Sears. Almost from the beginning, we were experiencing some very high speed spinning products. After numerous complaints that never amounted to anything, last year 2013 LG sent a notice about reprogramming their computer system in this machine. That changed all the settings, times, etc but did nothing to the UE message we were receiving on the machine which meant an uneven load. Two weeks ago, Nov. 6th, 2014, a new stator for the motor was shipped to us by LG to be installed free of charge by Sears and that did not fix the UE problem.Yesterday 11/25/14, the same Sears technician came to the house and told us we needed to change a sensor and the clutch assembly at a cost to us of $703.20. Today, 11/26/14, I contacted LG and they told me it was not their problem. And I told them I would get an attorney and they said go ahead. I will never purchases another LG product again because they do not stand by their product especially when they are wrong.
The Compressor died after 5 years, Tech support was OK and parts were free but still cost me Almost $1000.00 to repair. The refrigerator has one of the best possible designs for storage and access.
Refrigerator temp. 52 degrees. Multiple calls to LG, warranty program, waited 8 days for a repair tech. Spoiled food and frustration! Compressor replaced, but waited all day for tech who shows up at 5:30 P.M. Now refrigerator never stops running and is noisy. New repair tech is now scheduled. Stay away from LG!
Typically a fan for LG products but not loving my new washing machine. The machine works well but is difficult to clean the bulky rubber bumper/drain/filter AND the machine retains a foul/mildew like odor.
We purchased a $2700 LFX33975ST piece of junk in 2014. The first repair for an error code resulted in a non-working fridge for 3 months because the part was on back-order and cost us over $500 to repair. Three months later the freezer is working but the fridge will not cool below 46 degrees. The repair shop spent over 90 minutes on the phone with an LG technician discussing possible solutions. 1 - Replace the main motherboard ($200) plus installation. 2 - Replace the thermistor. The technician did not recommend any of those solutions because there is some underlying issue with ALL of these refrigerators that they are not telling us. I have checked the fan (working), the fuse on the circuit board (good), and the compressor (working). Ultimately, the suggestion from BOTH LG and my repair shop BUY A NEW FRIDGE BUT NOT LG or SAMSUNG.
For the last year I have spent $$ and time on repairing this machine multiple times from the drain pump to a board and now it is leaking water... We have only had it for 6 years... I called LG for support and it was a waste of my time... They couldnt help me, I knew more about my washer than the technician did. I have NO faith in LG and hesitant to ever purchase any of their products again!
LG French door frig purchased in 2007 has main board that was replaced twice in the first year. Then plastic parts crack and fall off door and veg bin holders. In October 2011 lights (120 watts) stay on, melts plastic and ceiling. Coincidentally, a law suit on that one and extended warranty to cover it. We will see. Bought an LG dishwasher at the same time. After 4 major repairs, it is now at the city dump where all these products should be. Wasted money/time repairing it. Spoiled food with light issue, not to mention the fire/burn hazard. Service is inept.
I purchased an LG electric range in early 2013 and just two months later it malfunctioned. When I called LG for service they never called me back and then it started working on its own so I never called them back. However, on Thanksgiving morning it completely died. We checked everything and we could not get it to work. We were told by several people who work with electronics that it was probably the motherboard which is too expensive to replace as far as Im concerned. I am very unhappy with this product considering we paid seven to $800 for it just two years ago and now it is basically useless and will just go fill a landfill somewhere. I cannot find my receipt but I have spoken to LG repair regarding this item.
Updated on 04/16/2020: As follow up, after I posted a complaint about my microwave, LG posted a reply on ConsumerAffairs which implied that they would look into our complaint. Wrong! We received a call today 4-16-2020 from the next level supervisor who said you received bad information from our customer service rep but we still cannot honor our warranty. This was the second LG microwave we had purchased, and the second to fail. This last one after about 4 months. One of the last LG reps we spoke to said there was no problem with our reimbursement paperwork and the warranty reimbursement check would be sent right out. Wrong again! This last supervisor told us that his company gave us bad information on how to file a claim and too bad for us that they made the mistake and now we are out the cost for another LG microwave. Just beware, if you do have issues with your appliance that is under warranty, LG may not honor their warranty even after admitting they were at fault.Original Review: We purchased a LG microwave to replace the LG microwave that stopped working after 2 years. After 4 months the new LG stopped working. It was under LG warranty so we called and submitted the warranty reimbursement form. After not hearing back for over a week, we called and they advised us that they needed the serial number from the unit cut in half. We submitted both the form and the serial number. After not hearing back again we called and they told us to submit the cut serial number tag on the actual submission form, so we did that and send it back in. After not hearing for two to three weeks we called again and we were told we also needed the manufacturer tag cut in half and submitted on the form. At that point being over two months of dealing with LG, we had already disposed of the unit. We told the rep and he advised no problem they would be sending the reimbursement check to us.After another week and a half we called in again and we were told without the cut manufacturer tag on the form we would not be reimbursed. We explained that the last rep said there was no issue with this and explained the entire situation again. We called again to be disconnected and called again to be told there would be no reimbursement without the manufacturer tag. After much discussion we asked the rep to send our request to a supervisor. She said it would be another week before a supervisor could look at our request.Bottom line buy a better brand microwave unless you want to continue to replace them and have LG give you misinformation to file a claim under warranty. Had I known their service was this poor I would have never bought any LG appliances. Had we known we needed more information off the unit we would have gladly supplied that at the time but the representatives gave us bad information. There are too many good quality products on the market to settle for horrible service and low quality from LG.
Our new LG dryer was just delivered last Wednesday. My husband hooked it up on Friday when he returned. I successfully washed (new washer, also) and dried 4 loads of clothes. On Saturday, the 5th, I did not dry because the dryer stopped heating. I contacted LG service who after attempting to diagnose the problem sent a service rep out on Monday. He found the problem to be the electronics board, but he did not have a replacement. He set up a return appointment for Wednesday, but called that morning to say the part was back ordered. It is now almost 1 week since I was last able to dry laundry. Im thinking about returning both appliances to Home Depot.
Tonight we set our dishwasher to run as always while we sleep. Well it was a good thing I didnt fall asleep right away because my LG dishwasher control panel shorted out and caught fire, and it didnt even trip the breaker. Hopefully thats because I got to it first. We have had nothing but trouble with it over the seven plus years we owned it. It has been completely rebuilt at least three times. It has always had a foul smell to it when it ran.
Bought a LG topload washer and dryer on Feb 21, 2014, on March 21, 2015 the circuit board fried. I contacted LG and they had given me the extended warranty, so kudos for them for that. From there the bottom drops out. For over a week they said that no repair shop would come and fix it because I lived too far out, I looked them up and there were two within 10 miles of me. Finally I asked them what address they had, for some reason they had an address that we hadnt lived at in over 7 years. Got that fixed and a week later the repair guy shown up for 10 minutes to tell me that the board is fried and they will have to order one. So they order it and they deliver the wrong part, he calls LG and orders again, explains to them what he needs. They send exactly the same part, so he opens a claim. That was over two weeks ago, I have called them at least 3 times a week only to be told that they have to order the part, but they cant tell me when they will get it. They have put me on hold for over 30 minutes, hung up on me while I was explaining to them what was going on. It has been a nightmare, just got off the phone with LG and the guy was very nice and apologetic, and said he will escalate it, but I have been told that several times. We now have a $900.00 paper weight sitting in our laundry room and LG has been no help. They gave us the extended warranty, but it is looking like that was just to appease us as they cannot tell me when it might get fixed. Never buy LG again. Have no idea where to go from here, but wait more.
LG refrigerators with the NEW Linear Compressor are garbage. All new LG refrigerators have this compressor. They either seize or they leak the refrigerant. They fail after three years and so do the replacement compressors. Buyer beware.
Bought a brand new LG French Door Refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot and here I am almost 4 years later and it has completely failed. I had the technician from the local LG authorized repair company and he diagnosed that my evaporator has failed and that between parts and labor it will cost somewhere between $1000 and $1200 to fix this LG French Door Refrigerator. What a total pile of crap. I would expect when paying $2200 for a new LG fridge that it would at least last 10 years or more without a major breakdown. So going by the rule of thumb on when to replace or repair a refrigerator since the repair cost is going to be more than half the cost of a new refrigerator I will be replacing this LG piece of crap with a new refrigerator of some other brand. Also I am now so turned off by LG I will never buy any of their products ever again in my lifetime and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.
My refrigerator is 4 months old. Recently we came home to a strong acetone smell in the house and noticed that appliance was not cooling. Called LG for warranty repair and they set up a service visit for 2 days later. I called the service company 3 times that day to confirm, left messages without hearing back. Missed one day of work. Called LG that same Friday and was told to a service company would come out the next Monday (3 more days with no fridge). They arrived Monday and determined that there was a Freon leak in one of the coils. They ordered parts. I then called LG and requested that they replace the 4-month old appliance and they refused. They said that the repair service would have to label the unit unrepairable. The parts then arrived on Wed. I called the service company and they came out in Thursday to complete the repair (3 days of missing work). After the repair in Friday, (9 days without fridge) the acetone smell continued for several hours. The freezer never really kicked in. I am now attempting to set up another service call. DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES!!!
Its a fridge, it had the basic features I needed. I bought it because I trust the brand and needed an affordable fridge. As long as it was a reputable brand with the basic functions of a fridge, I was sold. It was the cheapest high quality fridge I could find. It did everything I needed it to do. Yes, it met my expectations. Actually exceeded my expectations. LG is a well known reputable brand. Its a great fridge.
This has been the most horrible experience I have ever had with an appliance. Purchased this back in 2016 and have now had five compressors on this refrigerator. Last compressor was installed on September 5th, and it still doesnt work. LG coming back out on September 11th to replace it again. Purchased three year warranty and because all repairs werent taken care of by the warranty company, they wont honor it and replace or refund our money. LG has stated multiple times they will continue to inconvenience us as long as they can keep replacing compressors. They only offered a one time $200 refund for food lost. Weve now lost an entire refrig/freezer full of food four times. Will never purchase an LG appliance again, and will make sure everyone I come in contact with knows the experience Ive had with this company and how LG cares nothing about the way they treat their customers.
This range has been very good for baking, roasting and broiling. And it is self-cleaning. The convection setting works well. Enjoy the tunes when oven has pre-heated or timer goes off.
Updated on 05/22/2020: Our refrigerator died on May 8th and now 15 DAYS LATER we still do not have a resolution from LG. I just tried calling the latest number they gave us to call puts you on hold for 10 minutes and then hangs up on you. I have wasted 40 minutes so far trying to talk to a person. I am on medication that suppresses my immune system which makes my in an at risk category for COVID. We were trying to limit our trip out during this time but now my husband has to do daily shopping because we have no frig - putting me at more risk. This is all absolutely UNACCEPTABLE to have a company have no regard for an essential item like a refrigerator and the impact that has on your daily life when you dont have one.Original Review: We purchased a new LG Refrigerator in March of 2018 on night Thursday, May 7th the refrigerator completely died. To add insult to injury, my husband has just gotten groceries that day, so the frig and the freezer were fully stocked, and we lost almost everything. We contacted LG first thing Friday morning and had to leave a message with a call back number. They never called us back, so on Saturday morning, we called again, and this time spoke with a person who only told us that it seems that the linear compressor has failed and she would put in a request for a local service provider to contact us.It is now Monday, May 11th, and we still have not been contacted by a service provider. During this time of COVID-19 we are trying very hard to only go to the store once a week for essentials. This is next to impossible now that we are living out of an ice chest and a tiny dorm/beverage refrigerator that we have in our entertainment room. After doing some research online, I discovered that the linear compressor failing after about 2 years is extremely common and that LG has known about the problem since 2014 but continues to manufacture and sell these faulty products. We also talked to a local appliance repair company, and they will NOT service LG refrigerators. They did not feel right about installing the new linear compressors in peoples refrigerators because it is the exact same part (the linear compressor), and it just ends up failing again. They did not want their companies reputation ruined by LGs faulty parts. So here we are, no refrigerator and no service. I am beyond disappointed LG. We spent close to $3000 on this refrigerator, and my husband is currently out of a job, so we do not have any money to have to buy a new refrigerator right now.
It was small but it worked. I just always wanted a bigger and better refrigerator. It was too small and I wanted more features on the refrigerator. I wanted things like an ice maker and a water machine. I need a bigger one. I didnt like the color, or how small it was. It didnt have a lot of space for food for my house because I have a big family. It was old and outdated and we needed a more modern look. And a bigger freezer part on the refrigerator. It was just out of place here with my decor and family size. It would be nice to have wider and taller shelves. Well actually it came with the house that I was renting and it did good for a while but I have a big family and we needed more space to store more food. I am also an ice water so I love the ice maker.
We noticed water in the tray (leaking from bottom of the washer) in the very first week. Tech call within a week! Not a happy start. Water leaked few months later. Now we see water leak almost every wash. Technician came out and confirmed no leak after running few wash cycles. Fingers crossed... We had to call the technician once for a different issue also. I never had such issues in my previous washer (front load -- not LG) which we used for about 10 years. Also I have a feeling that this machine is using lot more water than my previous one and wash cycles are longer.
My LG french door is only 2 years old and the refrigerator section stopped cooling. The freezer compartment continues to keep my food cold and frozen. We contacted customer service and had a very challenging time explaining the customer service rep what the problem was. Finally, he said he would have a repair company contact us. The repair company that contacted us is 4 hours away!!! And only service the area I live in once a week. They did work on the refrigerator and determined that a part had to be ordered for it. The repair company said they would contact us as soon as the part arrived. We are now in our 4th week without refrigeration!!! Yes, we had to go through the holidays using coolers and have lost so much costly food! My husband just contacted the repair company again and was again told that they would call us as soon as the part came in. I WILL NEVER BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR AGAIN.
Ill never buy an LG Front Loader again. Piece of crap. The clothes never smell clean... We are pretty clean people. When I use the speed cycle, it consistently gets stuck at 7 minutes. Never again. The dryer is equally as crappy. I have to run the dryer at least 2 times to get the clothes dry.
The LG over the range microwave MODELLMV1683ST stopped heating. This appliance was manufactured in April 2014 and I purchased it at Home Depot in May 2014 and in June 2015 it no longer heats. Can I get some help?
Amazingly bad service with what is supposed to be a great appliance company. My 6 year old French Door refrigerator wont dispense water. I performed all the troubleshooting by the book and via a text message from LG. Sat on the phone for 20 minutes waiting to speak to a live person after being told every minute that someone would be with me in four minutes. When the person came on the phone she knew nothing about the appliance side of the business. She took my zip code and put me back on hold to find me a service company. After a few minutes on hold, she came back and gave me four companies, one I had already called and they told me they do not repair LG because parts are too difficult to get. I called the other three. Spoke to one, has not repaired LG for two years because of parts issues. The other two called me back this morning. One will not come to my area and the other is too busy and too short staffed to service in my area. I live in Newark, DE!!! I cant believe the unacceptable level of service and uncaring responses I am getting from this company and its service network. Maybe it is time for a change.
Will not stay balance have to stop several times to try to balance load - takes about all day to do one load. Will never buy another higher price washer.
My husband and I purchased what we thought was a beautiful new Refrigerator but after only exactly 3 yrs we werent very happy. Everything in the freezer defrosted and the coldest the refrigerator would get was 40 degrees and the freezer was 20 degrees. We needed a new compressor and dryer both of which were covered under warranty but the service call and labor cost us $400.00. Not happy.
i purchased an LG dishwasher and refrigerator new in 2007. Their products are junk. I have had problems with both units and made numerous service calls. Their customer service should be called customer no service. Dont make the same mistake and throw away good money on cheaply made appliances.
I have been reading many of the disturbing complaints in this forum regarding the LG washer recall and can only add to the frustration expressed here. My parents purchased one of the models that has been recalled (WT5101HV Serial No. 007KWYP02018), about 18 months ago. The machine was acting up, and they just got the letter about 2 months ago. We called LG and scheduled to have a technician come out, and they did the software patch download. This was a joke! It did not fix the problem, instead it only perpetuated it. Now, instead of the wash load spinning rapidly out of balance.... it spins much more slowly and still out of balance! In addition, the wash and rinse cycles still do not work properly. The machine starts the normal wash cycle, and never drains any of the soapy water! Instead, it keeps adding more and more water (just like before). It only drains all of the dirty soapy water (very slowly) at the end of the Full wash/rinse/and softener cycle. And it never properly spins the wet clothes to remove excess dirty water. This process takes 3 times as long as before, and the clothes never come out totally clean. A simple load can take all day to complete! They are ready to Dump the unit in the ocean! Does anyone know if there is any kind of class action or formal legal group that is trying to get LG to make customers whole?
We had bought LG refrigerator. It looks good brand and quality but beware its very bad and it stop working. This is all the LG product I bought, very upset and I will not recommend this product at all. Dishwasher LG not working, had insurance came, they came five times still does not work at all. They DID something and no steam working, does not clean. Well its a mess.LG stove - o my god the knobs are plastic and bad quality. They send twice, still melts and poor quality and when you turn the knob it breaks because its plastic not metal. Now the knobs dont work, it goes all around and dont do what it suppose to do, I can go on and on. Bad quality. Beware dont buy this. I will not even recommend it to my worst enemy.Beware LG are not good products. My sister have Maytag and her products are still working and she bought for less money. We bought this product waste a lot of money. All piece of cant say the word but Im very upset. So people please dont buy this product. Come to my house and you will see what I mean how they look and how bad they are. Now I need save up and buy all but this time it will not be a LG products for sure. Please LG clean up your mess and do something to those like me trusted your product and ended up with piece of junk not working.
I owned a LG top washer for a little more than two years. I had the agitator fixed the first year and it broke again the second year. When the technician fixed it, he said LG knew about the problem and it was re-engineered. It broke again. LG would not stand behind their product for replacement. Why buy an LG when you need it fixed every year? Their customer service told me it would have to break in 90 days for replacement. So if I need an annual fix it is my problem, since it did not happen in 90 days.
My old refrigerator went out and the LG was on sale for a good price so I bought it. Was kinda small but I needed something in a hurry and they could bring it the same day. Would freezer burn food fast and no room to make ice cubes. The shelves on the fridge couldnt hold 2 gallons of milk at 1 time. It was really just a standard refrigerator. Nothing special. Just cheap and worked as it should. Wish it had room to make ice cubes but it ran for years without any issues.
I have read through almost every comment on here and have to agree with how dissatisfied I am and what a disappointment these machines are. Class action suit please! I have the squeaky tub and mildew/musty smell I cant get rid of. Additionally, hot water is non-existent. It seems in my machine and I cant seem to select Sanitize no matter what I press. Oh, and bleach? I cant tell you how many loads of clothes have been ruined because the bleach does not fully wash out of the dispenser in one wash. It leaks into other loads afterwards.Seriously, a class-action suit needs to be started. How is it that a company / product has so many widespread complaints and concerns with mostly nothing being done about these problems and yet are still able to market their products without any consequences? Lastly, Sandy who has commented on this page is obviously affiliated with LG. I could go on and on with many valid points decimating her comments, but suffice it to say that a washing machine that you have to baby to keep running is a piece of garbage.
I purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator when we built or new home in October of 2014. My husband was very excited about the third door in the top half of the refrigerator and the ice in the door. I wanted the freezer on the bottom and the extra space in the top half. Although we both got what we wanted I have had nothing but problems with this refrigerator. After only 6 months we had to pull it apart in the freezer compartment and thaw the back of the freezer because the fan in the back was frozen. Since then I have had to pull everything out of the fridge and pull off the back to expose the coils to thaw them as well. After I do this again tonight I will have done it 3 times in less than an 8 month period of time. The last time was only 2 months again and last night sure enough the fridge threw an error code again.Holy Cow LG really this is the best you have to offer? My old GE side by side Fridge was less of a hassle and required less attention than this LG has and I had that fridge for 20 years. In fact the side by side that I bought second hand and only paid $150 for has been better fridge than this LG that I paid over $3000 dollars for. If I could I would deliver it to the President of the Companies door step and let him take it apart and thaw it yet again. Wow thanks for the crappy design. I will never, never, never buy another thing that says LG on it or that LG has had anything to do with. Thanks for letting me rant. I hate this Fridge!!!
I have never written a review but am so dissatisfied with my LG Direct Drive Dishwasher (paid over $800) - I felt compelled to warn others. I have hated it from day one mainly for the design of the racks. Although the tines look evenly aligned they do not hold my dishes upright causing them to fall over. I have rearranged them hoping to find better placement but to no avail. The glasses on top fall over as well causing a number of them to break since purchasing just over 2 months ago. They clang into each other while washing. This morning was the last straw when I discovered 90 percent of the coffee cups and glasses were caked with debris and need to be washed over. I hate this thing. Buyer beware - model 406KWELS3892.
When I load my laundry into the tub and ask for HOT water, I expect a hot water wash. Never going to happen in this machine. I called technician thinking it could be fixed and was told the default hot temperature is 91 degrees! Thats like taking a COLD shower! Why? Some laundry needs hot water! I tried turning the cold water off and the tub drains! Not only that, I have a window I can watch my clothes through and the clothes on top never do cycle to the bottom or anywhere else. They stay right on top. The drum, clothes & water go right, stops, goes left, stops, agitates very little and repeats the process 3 times. How is that going to clean clothes?! The stains on top of pile never get agitated through the water. I am ready to throw this thing in the garbage because that is exactly what it is! Never another LG product in my house again! Worst product I have ever had the misfortune to buy and it was pricey to boot! Have hated it since day one!
Model: LMV1680DW. Dont buy LG - just dont do it.... You WILL regret it. I know, every company has failures, and you can find a person who hates any company. But, LG is horrid. This is the second microwave from them that failed with the same problem - in the original warranty period! After months of fighting with them, they finally replaced the original unit, and now the new one is dead! Called them up and they start giving excuses for not replacing the second one. I will buy a new microwave - I just dont have the energy to fight them anymore and even if I win, cant go another 3 months without a microwave...It doesnt matter how cheap LG are, there is a reason they are cheap... Dont fool your self - youll spend less if pay more.
LG WASHER WT5001CW SERIAL 006KWWZ00297 - We purchased this EXPENSIVE washer in December 2010 before my auto accident and I had a great job. We loved it while it was working properly!!!! Now 4 1/2 years later, I am disabled and my wife of 32 years left. I live on very little thru no fault of my own and now this washer has been down for 5 weeks. Approx a year ago, we started having trouble with excessive vibration thru all cycles. This machine does not have an agitator and is a top load wave force washer. We called LG and found out it was under recall. LG sent techs out and changed out the main computer board free of charge. We noticed that the cycles got longer and we still had a vibration although it was better. We were told that it would get better over time. It did not so we just lived with it. Then 5 weeks ago my daughter came to wash clothes for me. During a rinse cycle, it sounded like the world came to an end. Upon inspection, the entire pulsator assy. came apart (bottom plate, center cap and center bolt) and hit the glass top. After dealing with LG multiple times, finally, a tech was sent out. It was the same guy who had previously change out the computer board. He got on the phone with his company and scheduled a repair tech. A week later, he shows up wanting an upfront payment (NOT!!!!!) so he left. I called LG. Now they say there is no record of our contacting them. I have begged these folks for help. Finally I got a number of an authorized LG repair person locally. Now it seems that the main bearing has gone out and most likely for what its gonna cost to fix this washer is over half what I paid for it - SERIOUSLY????????? The machine is 4 1/2 years old and if this is what service and longevity LG products now have, then I have bought my last one - I can go back to a brand new standard washer for what it will cost to fix this thing. SHAME ON YOU LG!!!!! I understand all things can break down, but your customer service is now CRAP.
Purchased our LG refrigerator 2015. Water has dropped from the water dispenser since day one! A month ago they replaced the compressor and it still is having issues - we can’t put groceries away without losing coldness in the freezer - we can’t clean it without losing coldness in the freezer to the point the ice pops go soft. We are so frustrated with this product - our last fridge last 20 years old. It never had an issue. We are EXTREMELY dissatisfied with this product and would never suggest it to anyone - oh and did I mention we had to lose a day of pay for someone to come and fix it???? Beware of the compressor issue obviously from every review.
I own a LG Electric Front load washer dryer. The biggest disappointment is the Dryer Drum. I have already replaced it once. And now it is cracked again, and it is $200 just for the part. The stainless steel used is almost paper thin and always cracks near the welded seam. This is a DEFECT! I am looking for a regular steel drum in my next one, (they never cracked on me) and find it hard to even look at LG products other than matching the washer better.
Water dispenser for drinking water, ice cube dispenser and french door with temperature indicators with touch screen monitor to change settings depending on my need. I am very much satisfied with the refrigerator except that I need to change the filter every 6 months. Other than that it is very much fulfilling my needs. Price was reasonable when compared to others and availability when I needed and also in the physical store so that I could have a look before buying.
I purchased a LG over the range microwave in 2012. Within a year, the magnetron failed and microwave quit working. Warranty repaired it. Now the door switch has failed, microwave again does not work. Has been repaired but no longer on warranty and LG will not cover the cost. My microwave is mid range in cost approximately $500 and now it has cost me another $171. This is within 3 years. Pretty expensive I would say. I may as well have bought a low end generic model for a few hundred dollars. I would have had the same amount of use but without the cost. I will not be purchasing another LG appliance.
We purchased our LG refrigerator in December 2012. It was a bottom freezer unit with French doors in stainless steel. A 36 inch wide model that set us back just over $1200. It was a good looking appliance with nice features but not very durable. In November 2018, just weeks before Thanksgiving, the compressor failed. I got online and read numerous horror stories about dealing with LG to have the unit repaired. I was coming up with estimates of around $900 to repair. We found the quickest way to solve our problem was to write it off as a bad decision and get something else. When we were purchasing our new one, not affiliated with LG of course, the salesperson at the store said her LG only lasted two years. I guess we were fortunate to get almost six years before ours gave up the ghost. I have heard newer appliances are not as durable as older models. But something this costly should last for at least ten years if it is taken care of.
I purchased this dryer a year and a half ago. The problem that we have been encountering is that the clothes or bedsheets we dry always get caught in the lint trap. They will spin around each other, twist each other, stretch out and each time just makes it worse. It has ruined a lot of our clothes already since then. Worst of all, when I did my last laundry drying my bedsheets recently, I found the dryer door wide open by itself (no one touched it or opened the dryer) and all the sheets are all tangled up and twisted giving me more work to do. I was so shocked to see this. One piece of advice, never leave the dryer unattended if youre drying anything. Such a lousy product. Not worth my money. Too scared for my older children to use this when I am not around to supervise them. I am honestly not happy and dissatisfied with this product.
Our 18 month old LG refrigerator (LFXC24726S) died. The compressor failed. The warranty company through Home Depot told us it would be 2 weeks to repair. I will not be buying another LG product or another appliance from Home Depot.
WT4870C - True Balance...I dont think so. I purchased the machine in August, 2013. From the beginning I would get uE/UE messages. I would rearrange the clothes, press the Start button and hope for the best. Finally called LG and the response was that they would email me directions on how to balance the machine. Thats it?! Luckily I had purchased an extended warranty plan. The Lowes Service Advantage rep was very nice and set up an appointment with the local appliance repair tech. He arrived today and asked (1) had I had any service before and (2) did I know about a recall? No to both questions. He explained that he would order parts and set up an appointment for next week. So far today Ive had uE messages on all my loads of laundry. On the one hand Im glad my complaint is not unique; on the other hand am I going to have to replace the machine I was so excited about getting?
Purchased refrigerator in October to be delivered to our home that was still in the build process. hhgregg held fridge for us until Nov.22, when it was delivered. $3600.00 later, I could take the thing and run a truck over it. 2 weeks ago, my husband came and got me from another room to show me the control panel on the fridge... it read..... R & DH. No clue what either meant, got the manual, lo and behold manual is in every language, but not one thing referring to the codes on the control panel. Left with one option - call the 800#.. Now that means speaking with someone in God knows where, who cant stop apologizing long enough for you to say what you need.... She informs me that we (my husband, who is 72 and myself who is 67) need to PULL the from the wall, unplug it and let it sit {like rebooting a computer}. Then plug it back in and it will be fine.... She failed to tell us that we would have to do this on the average of twice a day, every day!Contacted hhgregg. Oh we had 30 days for return, too bad!!!! Called LG, when the foreign person answered, I demanded to speak to a supervisor who spoke and understood ENGLISH, she supplied. She said that there was a company who would come to fix it.... She contacted them. They happened to be the ONLY COMPANY WITHIN A 75 MILE RADIUS THAT WORKS ON LG!!!!! Now, how lucky are we????? NOT.Company called, sent a young kid out to access the fridge. Lo and behold, I needed a part that would actually defrost the fridge. The one in there was not working. He ordered the part. In the middle of all of this, my husband had to have surgery. They called me to schedule the appointment and unfortunately I had to call them to come later in the day, I had to get my husband to the surgeons office for an emergency. Called the other kid repairman and he said he would make me the last visit. We got home around 1PM in the afternoon, called him and he said to me, oh I forgot I had another client and I wont be there today, they dont allow us much for gas money. I was furious.... I said to him, this is your job..... I had an emergency and he said, well you are the reason I didnt make it there today. I could have gone through the phone after him.... He then said I would have to contact the office to reschedule.. He had my part on his truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I decided to call LG and let them handle it. The gal said she would find someone who could come out and fix the unit... She didnt bother to say that she would not be in touch until the next week. In the meantime, we are still unplugging and replugging... and get angrier by the minute. I finally called LG to find out what happened. Oh the dept that handles that take 3-5 business days to locate someone. I ask her, suppose I had gone on vacation and this happened, I would have lost all my food. Yes you would and it was your responsibility. LG will not reimburse. I am not proud of my profanity at this point, but it was well deserved. LG had me between a rock and hard place. I called the owner of the company that first came out... {let me add this, the owner of the company called me and apologized for the kid that gave me the attitude and said he was no longer working for them, that is not how he treats his customers}. When I spoke to him, he was gracious and said he would be out on Thursday to fix the fridge. He came, apologizing once again, put the part in the fridge, after showing us the frost that was built up on the back of the bottom freezer. Said to us that if this does not work, then we have more serious problems. NOT EVEN 12 HRS AND IT WAS BACK DOING THE SAME DAMN THING. I am so angry, so frustrated..... Of course it happened on Friday so nothing was open until today.... I have posted this review here, next Consumer Protection agency, LG and then hhgregg... Busy morning for this frustrated and angry consumer!
Only set back is stain removal, regardless of detergent brand most stains will not come out. Need proper stain treatment before washing. Not sure what else to say other than I cannot see a difference between regular cycle vs steam cycle. I did have a rust issue after the first year in a so called rust free washer. It took some heavy persistence using a few legal terminology, and social media exposure threat to get it replaced. Not the best when calling in for a defect after the first year!
French door, bottom freezer. Freezer space very good & easy to use with drawer providing better access. Door for milk and other items reduces times opening refrigerator. Would prefer two larger veggie drawers instead of three. Has larger meat drawer at bottom which allows for many shaped items. Just check local area for repair centers just in case something may need to be repaired for any brand appliance purchased.
My family members all use this fridge. I dont have this firdge now, but its the firdge I grew up with and I have really only knew this brand and that makes me not to purchase other brands. I like its separations of different storage areas, my old LG fridge is affordable, small and compact. I like its temp setting system too. And it just overall packs a punch. But the new ones are really expensive and I am not buying any of those.
We have had our LG French door refrigerator for 5 years. We paid $2,000 plus for it. It is now useless. We cannot get anyone to work on it. All the appliance repair places say they will not work on them. The companies LG recommended cant buy parts because their account is on hold. Got a repair estimate today for $1,200 and he said we had to buy the parts ourselves. LG will not sell us parts. We still had to pay for the service call. We have lost most of the food in our refrigerator over the last 2 days. Please do not buy LG.
LG Refrigerator owned about 6 years trouble free. Woke up one morning to a freezer and refrigerator full of ruined food. Call LG and with smart diagnostic feature are told it is not cooling properly (Figured that out with spoiled food). Told need to be serviced by LG authorized service and was given a number to call. 155 for 5 minutes to diagnose bad compressor. LG is aware and has several class action lawsuits against them. Guy need to order part. LG warranty does not cover very expensive labor - 320+ to install. From all the reviews online - They install the same defective part and failure rate of the new one is very high- most fail within the next 12 months.
Where do I start. I have the top loading, no agitator, wave force. It uses too much electricity figuring out load weight. It doesnt clean the clothes well. The bleach dispenser has ruined many towels. If I interrupt a cycle to add an item (during that time the machine allows you), it screws up the machine on how much water to add so it fills the tank completely full. Contacting the company is a joke. The repairman tells me everythings normal (hes probably in a hurry to go to the next complaint of LG washers. The feature I have allows me to put my phone up to it so LG can hear the beeps and tones for a diagnose - DOESNT WORK (hence the repairman). I extended my warranty to three years. Problem with that is when they tell you nothing is wrong, your warranty is useless. Im sorry for anyone who buys LG! I hope you see the negative reviews and run the other way.
We purchased our LG stove last year in March. The controls for the stove top and the oven are currently not working. I am having an extremely difficult time getting any cooperation out of their customer service department. If we end up having to pay for this ourselves, we will likely just replace the stove. It has proven to be nothing more than a piece of junk. I did a lot of research before we bought the stove and it had excellent reviews. I’ll be more cautious next time.
I purchased a $ 2600 2015 LG French door refrigerator, LFXC24726*S, in November 2014. Now after only 17 months of actual use the whole system failed. Now Im no math major but a product this expensive should not be breaking down so soon. Its been two weeks and the repairman still hasnt received the part to fix the problem. No wonder Home Depot advised me to get the protection plan. In the future I will not be buying anymore LG PRODUCTS. Life is not so good when the consumer purchases a LG APPLIANCE.
We bought our LG refrigerator 12 years ago and it has been a source of aggravation ever since. It has had to be worked on numerous times. Leaks water from the ice maker and now makes crazy suction noise. We have our Whirlpool refrigerator in the garage, nearly 25 years old and has not had one problem. All I can saw is DON’T BUY LG or be prepared for lots of problems. I am afraid with this latest noise that it could catch fire! We will have to buy a new refrigerator soon because we can’t live with this constant aggravation, Even though we paid more for it than any refrigerator we have ever had!!!
I waited four months for this refrigerator to be delivered from Lowes which is ridiculous to begin with. This refrigerator is so obnoxiously noisy. The compressor runs virtually non stop with a high pitch fan noise. I called LG and complained and first the rep acknowledged that the compressor should cycle down but when I said it doesnt then he said that was normal. I held the phone up to back of frig and he couldnt hear or said he couldnt hear it so theres nothing wrong. His tone was rude. This thing is torturing us with constant noise and we had a tech out who raised the front legs and now on top of high pitched compressor noise theres a loud low vibration humming. This frig is so loud it drives everyone out of the house, out of 3 rooms adjacent to refrigerator. Now we have to call Lowes to return it and we have no back up because we had them remove the old refrigerator when this new one came. WARNING: DO NOT BUY A LG REFRIGERATOR ESPECIALLY WITH LINEAR COMPRESSION!!! Its a nightmare to try and live with.
Our Samsung washing machine was a replacement for a recalled Samsung washing machine. It was a top of the line machine and lasted about 3 years. Samsung provided no help or recourse to fix or replace this machine. We spent $85 for a repair person to tell us the brain was dead in the Samsung machine. Now we are using a 20 year old washing machine because our 3 year old Samsung is dead. Do not buy a Samsung washing machine!
On 17 Sep 2010, I purchased a new LG Electronics LFXC24726S/02 refrigerator. Last night, 21 May 2020, the refrigerator stopped cooling. When I called a repairman today, he said its most likely the compressor and the repair would be about $1,100, implying that my less than five year old refrigerator might be worth repairing.
Bought a LG Dryer instead of a Maytag this time and I am so disappointed in myself in doing so. The dryer filter will not completely seat and it has caught clothing on the corner and now looks like I have a little melted corner now also. It has damaged several articles of clothing. I did vacuum it out just in case to no avail. You have but one job and that is to put out a safe and dependable dryer and have failed to do so. For verification my model number is: DLE3170W. S/N: 505KWFNOF771.
Purchased fridge a year and 1/2 ago. Just my wife and me home. First the piece at top of left door for closing broke off. Then a short time later, the cheap plastic for drawer slide broke. To clean fridge, you have to pull out of wall and pull plug, no turn off switch. I have heard several complaints about LG but because it was the only size that fit in our kitchen space, I thought I would take a chance. Darn sorry now.
I have two products of LG, first is Semi Automatic Washing Machine and second is LG Window AC, both are only 2 years old and they are not working properly. Earlier I had Whirlpool washing machine and it was too good, I never had any bad experience with that but LG is just opposite. I had purchased my Window AC in 2012 and last year only the gas was finished, I dont know how and why. Overall my experience with LG is very bad and I am not going to buy any product of LG in future. Also I never recommend LG to anybody. Just be careful of LG.
LG company did not honor any recall for the control panel that was suppose to be under a recall because it was two years old. The LG representatives worked very hard to guarantee that I would not be getting any help either by getting them to repair the oven, send me the part, or provide me with technical support. There are not many parts that can go wrong but expensive if you guess wrong. The recall item was the control panel (board) but there are two in question. One for $60.00 the other for $170.00.
I bought a top load washing machine, three months later machine started giving some i3 code means water pump is not working correctly, so we call LG. Looks like everything going ok. They send a tech to check the machine. His name DAVID **. I will never forget this name. Why? This tech is a LG house. He told me, Oh! Pump is not working. I will order the part. Ill come back and replace it, so like I said before everything looks nice although this guy is honest so far. He came back ten days later. I wasnt in home. My wife let him do the job. He spend 15min to replace the pump. Wow this guy is awesome. Finished fast and good worked supported. In the following days we know if something is wrong with the machine, softener stays doesnt go away. We call LG again. They said if a tech come to our house again we will pay for it, I totally refused to pay anything if we still have our warranty. Anyways they send another guy from APEX APPLIANCE SERVICE, GUESS WHAT HAPPEN NEXT. This second tech find out the LG guy never replace the water pump and LG tech DAVID ** sabotage our machine cutting the wires. This way our machine will never show codes anymore.Apex tech pass the information about what happen to LG and again when I called LG they dont have any info about it. Looks like they cover each other. I dont know exactly. ANYWAYS, if I describe all terrible time what happens to get my machine fixed will take me more than 24 hrs to do it, anyways if you already purchased any LG items youre **... Just watch out for this guy DAVID **. If your machine is broke or if its another tech from LG be on him make sure he fixed your expensive machine. LG COMPANY IS A NIGHTMARE. NEVER EVER WE WILL BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS BRAND.
I bought my new LG refrigerator a year and a half ago. Three days ago it stopped working. Last week lost $150 worth of groceries. Called the company. Said they would be out Tuesday between 11 and 5 o’clock. I took the day off and waited. They never showed up. They never called me and when I called them I was treated very rudely and told they would call me the next afternoon and let me know when they can make it out to repair the refrigerator that is still under warranty. I feel this is the worst customer service I’ve ever had and I do not recommend buying an LG appliance.
Condenser blew in the 3 years Refrigerator. 3 weeks with no fridge. Lg said it’s under warranty but after a month of calls to customer service they have yet to send a letter of authorization to the repair shop. At least 20 calls later to them and they shamelessly lie and say it has been sent to dispatch and I will get a call in 3 days from repair shop. The authorized repair shop also has called and emailed to no avail. LG is the worst and I will never buy another LG product again.
I have the same problem with the moldy smell. I had a service guy in today and I am going to follow his advise and see what happens. The washer is already smelling better! His advise; First, he adjusted the front feet so the machine sloped slightly back so the front gasket drains fully, then he showed me how to drain the washer by using the dials (no one explained this to me!). Turn on machine, dont touch the main dial, go to spin speed button and press it. Display should read 13 minutes, then start washer. This will completely drain any standing water! Good luck **. He also recommended to use half a cup dish washing detergent in the drum, wash on full hot cycle. Do this at your own discretion, I am trying this tonight!
We purchased an LG refrigerator (model LSXS26326S) on April 28, 2016. It was delivered and installed on May 3, 2016. On July 30, 2018, it stopped working, ruining approximately $300.00 worth of food. We contacted the store of purchase (Home Depot), and were told because we did not purchase the extended warranty, we would have to pay for repairs. We then contacted LGs customer service line, and they directed us to a local LG authorized repair provider. They were going to charge $125.00 for a visit to assess the issue, and if the parts were covered by manufacturers warranty, they would charge an additional $250 for labor... If not, who knows what the charge would be. Now, I understand wear and tear and paying for repairs, but a lightly used refrigerator (mostly just my wife and I in the home), breaking down after just two years of use, seems like faulty craftsmanship. I then went on LGs website and chatted, first with a representative, then with a supervisor, both of whom seemed less interested in a quality product than with pushing their warranties (which would not be as needed with a sturdy product). The bottom line was, they are not responsible for their product breaking after only two years, and we were responsible for any repairs. After this experience, I went on consumeraffairs.com and read numerous complaints of a similar vein, $1,500 - $3,000 refrigerators breaking after only a couple of years, with no support from LG. I received no help from LG, so I contacted my local news stations consumer affairs department in hopes of bringing to light LGs poor product quality and non-existing customer service.
Ordering amazon.Com right from the refrigerator door is one of the main draws, as is the lava lamp, book alcove, and adherence to democratic principles, in theory. It was a smart refrigerator, powered by an ibm watson computer. I am also extremely preoccupied with the cooling feature. I think that this level of ingenuity is an excellent selling point on lgs behalf.
I purchased a top of the line LG stainless washer and dryer a few years ago and both appliances are poor quality. I would not recommend LG to anyone. It has been a frustrating experience, as they are malfunctioning more than they are working! Last year, I waited for months just to get the right parts and then they break down again. My washer is continuously leaking in various places. Service technicians have told me I would be better off with a Kenmore! Very disheartening after spending so much money because you feel you are buying quality. This is surely not the case!
On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!
December 15 - I took delivery the LG gas range, opened it as the delivery truck was leaving (they did not install it) and I noticed the interior glass was not seated properly and had a small crack. The delivery truck had just pulled away, so sending it back at that moment wasnt an obvious option. I immediately called Home Depot, who gave me the LG customer service number. In my first call to LG, they immediately offered me a compensation check to have a repairman fix it. I agreed to this. Then LG transferred me to their parts and repair dept. The person in parts and repair said it couldnt be repaired, because it was not installed yet, even though it is just the oven door. At this point LG customer service number was closed for the day.December 16 - I called Home Depot service back first to get help. They personally called LG and had a ticket created in the LG system for replacement instead. They said in about three days I would get a call to schedule the new range delivery. December 21 - I hadnt heard from LG yet, so I called them. They said a manager there had cancelled my replacement ticket without calling me to let me know(!), because I had been issued a damages check, and I could no longer get a replacement. I explained that LG Parts and Service told me I could not have it repaired, because it wasnt installed. LG said they would send an independent technician out and they would decide whether it can be repaired without installation. December 26 - Technician is no call, no show.December 27 - Technician comes out, tells me LG will probably just issue a replacement, he has to submit a claim. He will call me in about 3 hours with an answer. I dont know what this means for the damages check they were going to issue? December 29 - I start calling the repair company back for an answer. I talk to someone there 1-2 times a day thereafter, each time they say they dont have an answer, but will in a few hours. January 5 - I give up, the appliance repair service isnt calling me back. I call LG, say I dont think a claim was ever submitted on the oven door. The notes in the system at LG now seem to indicate I was in the process of a replacement, rather than repair? NOW, three weeks later, they say a replacement *can* be done (I am not confident I will receive the damages check anyhow). I am fed up, I tell them I want that damages check at this point, so they will have to find another company to repair it.They transferred me to LG parts and service. I asked parts and service if they can simply send me a new oven door, and I will send the old door back? There are two metal clips that hold the door on, you just flip them up and slide it out, I believe its designed this way so you can take the door off to clean it. They will not let me handle this. I am given the name and number for a new repair company, and told they will be in contact with me ASAP. The new repair company hasnt contacted me yet, and isnt answering their phone right now. Both repair companies have very low ratings online, complaints through the BBB as well - though with something this simple, I dont really care - as long as they can repair it quickly. That doesnt appear to be a possibility. The LG repair and service escalated my request, which was supposed to lead to a callback from an executive team within 48 hours. They never called back.January 8 - The Twitter account for LG helps me in a direct message, which was more effective than any phone call I placed. They arranged an LG employee technician in my area to repair the oven door. The Twitter account person said it was requested the parts be pre-ordered, repair date is January 15. January 14 - I installed the oven in preparation for arrival of my new oven door parts. January 15 - The LG technician calls and says we have to reschedule because of a back injury. 1/19 was my new date he gave me... But then I asked if he pre-ordered parts. They were not pre-ordered. The technician checked stock in your system for the door glass. There is no stock available on the door glass, he doesnt know if there WILL be stock on the door glass in the near future, but he has put the order in now. He said to check back in two days for a status whether there will be glass.I made a big mistake installing the oven beforehand. I followed up with the Twitter account person, who was helpful again, but said the system indicates he has not ordered the glass yet. January 17 - The second outside repair shop, which I never was able to get ahold of, showed up at my house while no one was home, called me and said they were there to fix the range! They said LG (India call center, parts and repair) set up the appointment date and time. No one from LG called me about there being an appointment scheduled. I told them I have a factory tech already scheduled, they didnt have parts to fix it anyways.January 19 - When I check the online status, the technician still has me listed as a scheduled repair today. However, the status of the parts are still back ordered days later. How are there not parts available? 5 weeks as of today. Update: spoke to tech, parts are back ordered until at least the end of February. If the parts and service had told me this 5 weeks ago, the first time I spoke with them, I wouldve demanded a new oven. I assume I will be able to get a new oven, has not happened yet though.
We bought a LG washer (top loading.) and dryer set at Best Buy, 20 June 2016. They looked like quality products, but we were very mistaken. The washer spends a lot of time load sensing, almost as much as washing. A lot of clicking going on, and the tub jiggles back and forth for a few minutes before the washing cycle starts. Even with Extra Water, selected, it is barely enough to get the clothes thoroughly wet in the wash cycle. The clothes in the very middle of the tub never hardly move during the agitation, so they do not really get washed good. Then during this last week the washer goes from wash cycle to spin cycle. It forgets the rinse cycle. Also, we can only get hot water, never warm. For some reason the warm setting is always cold. It also takes a long time just to wash a load of clothes. The dryer will not dry our clothes completely, but we work around that problem, and we shouldnt have to. We had a Kenmore washer and dryer set for thirteen years, and never had many problems. I worked as a product designer for many years, and our company had strict rules for testing and designing before any new product was introduced to the market. I can hardly believe that LG is putting these defective new products out to the marketplace. Anyway, we are disgusted, and learned a very expensive lesson.
