LG Secadora Modelo DLG7101W
My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator. I’ve had LG products in previous homes as well and although I’ve had to fix them from time to time they have been generally good products. So when it came time to purchase a dishwasher and a range oven I wanted to have a matching set so I went with the LG dishwasher and range oven.My refrigerator is 6 years old now and was not cooling down properly. I called your customer service line to see what could be done and they gave me the name and number of a local technician. I called and set up an appointment with Duncan Home Services. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor. Although it was an inconvenience, I was pleased to remember there was a 10 year warranty on the linear compressors that were in my model of refrigerator (LFX28968ST/01). I called customer service on April 22nd of 2019 to see about getting the compressor replaced. 44 days later and 7 hours, 21 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone with customer support… I still do not have the correct replacement for my faulty compressor.I was given a case number of **. I will detail my dissatisfaction with your call support team later but here is a summation of the issue. In response to my request for a warranty replacement of the compressor, the Tech was sent a compressor with the model number of TCA35533604. This part was identified as a “backup replacement”. The Tech had installed one of these in another refrigerator they worked on just like mine and they knew it didn’t work. Therefore they would not install it and charge me the labor. They determined the correct part was TCA35893202. When they called to order that part they were told it is on backorder until early July.I don’t know if you’ve ever gone without a refrigerator for 2 months but when one is used to it being there, it is ridiculously inconvenient. The summation of what I determined from your customer support team was that I had 3 options that are policies that they say are set by you. 1: Wait another month for the part to come in. 2: I was offered 20% off a new LG refrigerator. 3: If I could produce the receipt then I could be given a new refrigerator. My problems with the above proposals are as follows: 1: I’ve already waited a month and cannot wait another month for a part that may or may not come in. I will be forced to purchase a new refrigerator from one of your competitors. 2: An equivalent replacement refrigerator will be another $2000 minimum. 20% of that is $400. I don’t have $1600 available to buy from a company that is doing a horrible job honoring their Warranty. As I said, I’d prefer to buy from someone else. 3: I know that the refrigerator was purchased at Lowes, I know that it was on or near Black Friday of 2013 but I do not have the original receipt from 6 years ago.I proposed 2 solutions to the problem, but the customer service supervisor said that she didn’t have authority to do either of the 2 options and only you did. I proposed the following: 1: Since the Tech determined that the compressor that LG sent was incorrect they would not Warranty their work. Since I have to pay labor for the installation as that is past the warranty period of 5 years, that is a problem. LG could warranty the work of their tech so I am not on the hook for when the part doesn’t work.2: The correct part (TCA35893202) is available through local appliance parts outlets and retails for around $279. LG could provide a voucher to the tech to purchase the part locally. This would be the quickest and most cost effective solution for all parties in my opinion. So if you could authorize my Option 2 promptly that would be fantastic. I am merely asking for a timely and correct replacement for a warrantied part. Now I spoke with at least 6 different supervisors. They are the 2nd tier of customer support. I have no issue with the first tier of support. They were all professional and as helpful as they could be and got me to the 2nd tier fairly quickly on seven of my ten calls. The 2nd tier of individuals however were the opposite. All I was given were first names so that is all I can provide. They were; Daniel, Brea, Jessie, Jem, Jessica, and Tyesha.Daniel: Daniel informed me that he would send an email to the parts guy Cyrus about the availability of TCA35893202 and he would call me back. That was early May and I never heard from him. Brea: She was generally pleasant but couldn’t help me any. She told me the tech would have to call the parts department to see if the correct compressor was available. (The tech did call and was told that the correct compressor was on backorder.) Jessie: Jessie appeared to be helpful and told me that he/she was going to send an email to Cyrus as well to see if the part was truly back-ordered. If it was, he/she could issue a replacement refrigerator (Which surprised me and I did not ask for.) He/she said I would get a phone call later… I did not, again. Jem: I’m not sure if I have the name right but she basically hung up on me and sent me back to the 1st tier people. They put me back through to the supervisors and I got Jessica. Jessica: I wasn’t particularly pleasant with Jessica as I was beyond frustration at this point. She responded by being extremely unhelpful and refused to walk through the notes of the previous 7 or 8 calls I had made. I told her what Jessie had said earlier about the replacement but she told me there was no Jessie in her office. She ended up telling me that TCA35893202 was NOT back-ordered and it was available but the tech had to order it. (The tech did call again to order it and was told that the part was still back-ordered.) I feel that I was blatantly lied to.Jessie: Imagine my surprise when I in fact got Jessie again despite Jessica telling me there was no Jessie. This time Jessie offered me the 20% off a replacement refrigerator. I told her that was not satisfactory, nor was the waiting until July for the part and that I could not produce a 6 year old receipt. She put me on hold… for a really long time until… Tyesha picked up the line and I got to re-explain everything to her. Tyesha: She just continually reiterated my 3 unsatisfactory options and told me there was nothing she could do and my only recourse was to write you a letter. So here I am. Should this situation not be remedied by my Option 2 listed above or a better idea you come up with yourself I will never be purchasing any LG product again. I will also never recommend an LG product to any family or friends. Although they are not particularly effective against your bottom line, these are my only options for recourse and I will pursue them endlessly. Thank you. Mark **
I purchased a fridge from Best Buy in 2013. It was an open item but was only a display item never leaving the store. We had the understanding that LG would honor open ticket items as though they were brand new. If we had known that LG (according to them) do not honor open item warranties I would not have bought the open item to save $100. I would have gone with a unopened product. But that isnt the full issue. So we bought a fridge it 2013 had some minor issues with the fridge but were able to fix the problems with a little help from videos as they were not major issues nothing repairing just thawing or cleaning something up. Well about 3-4 weeks ago we noticed our food was no longer staying cold and everything in our freezer was thawed and had to be thrown out and fridge was also not keeping things cold and lost most of our fridge stuff as well. We contacted LG to see if they could have someone come out and fix the issue as it was still under warranty. Well they called back to say they could get someone out to us in two weeks. We have young children in the home so going without a fridge for 2 weeks was not acceptable. We spoke to best buy and they recommended a repair place that is LG certified to come out and look at it. We contacted them and they asked the model and serial number once he got that information he knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. He has been fixing about 2-5 of these a week for the past year as it was a known defect during assembly of the product. When he first started seeing these issues appear he spoke to a tech at LG and the tech from LG let it slip mistakenly that during assembly of a part the worker bypassed procedures and did not install or use a spark shield. Without that part during assembly the part would fail within 4-5 years. And it looks based on the fact that he has fixed 2-5 a week that it is actually happening a lot. We had the repairman order the parts to get it fixed and we then find out that we would be charged a flat rate of $399 + tax or $425 to repair this. Parts would be all covered but labor wasnt so labor would be $425. I really find it hard to believe that I should be responsible for the labor on a product that was sold to me with a defective product. But we needed a fridge so we got the parts and had the repairman to come. Now the repairman spent 3 hrs only to find out the part that was sent was defective as well and did not work. So now my family has been without a fridge for 3-4 weeks. We called to complain to LG that first off we dont think we should be responsible for the labor costs if it was due to a defective product they knowingly put into the fridge. After some lengthy conversations with LG they have now since claimed that they will not pay anything due to this product being an open item product. They are still not standing up and admitting they put a defective part into a product and sold it. We know there is a list of serial numbers with this issue. If I had bought a car with a defective part a recall would be issued to repair this. But LG is trying to keep this on the down low and not pay up. It doesnt stop there. They have told our repairman that we said he was unprofessional and that he did not do a good job so now they are making false claims against our repairman that we never said. Plus during my first conversation with them they mentioned that you would be completely covered and you will have no cost out of your pocket for the repair only to go back on that statement and only offer my repair man a voucher for $115 of the $425 service. While I waited on the phone for the confirmation that this was all worked out I repeatedly asked will I be completely covered and nothing will come out of my pocket to which I was told over and over again that it will be covered. Only to find out the lied again to me and that they were only offering the lower rate. Now after we complained more now they are completely dropping all help and deeming this was due to the open item purchase and they dont cover the warranty on open items. I spoke to Best Buy and they restated that is not the case. Open items they sell are covered under warranty without question. Please what can you do to help. This has been very frustrating that I am without a fridge and now I am having to pay another $400 after buying a fridge less than 5 years ago for 1800. This is not the service I expected from a billion dollar company.
Less than a year old and poor customer service. We purchased a front load washer and dryer. Our dryer stopped working and would go from 1:55 dry time to 01 in a minute and would not dry. Repair people came to fix the problem. However it is still not fixed and washer is leaking and ruined our new wood floor in the process. I wanted a refund for a washer and dryer we purchased less than a year ago to purchase new and a different brand because we continue to have issues with it. Customer service was not helpful and said they don’t do refunds and that someone from repair has to state it is defective. As a full time teacher it is hard to find time to keep having people come to repair it and only to have different issues with it.
i purchased an LG dishwasher and refrigerator new in 2007. Their products are junk. I have had problems with both units and made numerous service calls. Their customer service should be called customer no service. Dont make the same mistake and throw away good money on cheaply made appliances.
I purchased an LG Refrigerator from Lowes 2 years ago, and had several minor issues. However, now the compressor is out!!! After 2 years??? This is ridiculous! I kept my old Kenmore fridge and its 10 years old but continues to work without problems. Now, I have to move food from my new fridge to the garage into the old fridge that works all the time! I will never purchase a LG product again. Customer service rep, not very good at helping with getting this resolved either. Basically, you are out of luck and on your own.
We purchased our LG Tromm 3 years ago. The first thing that happened was the boot on the opening that the door fits into ripped. It was replaced with a generic part because LG apparently stopped making the original boot. The repair person, recommended by LG, came and installed the new boot and it didnt fit properly. After he left, we did a load of wash and all the water drained onto the laundry room floor and down into our finished basement. They came back with another boot, apologized but did nothing about the water damage and the second boot worked. The moldy smell is nonstop. We do a monthly bleach tub clean and have used the pucks you can buy to clean front-loading washers, but nothing works. I wipe out the fold in the boot constantly because gunk accumulates in it. I drain the washer from the little hose in the compartment at the bottom often and clean out the trap. My clothes smell awful. Im not sure on what to do with a 3-year old washing machine that makes my clothes worse smelling than before they were washed.
Bought a $3,000 refrigerator not even 4 years ago and I have to replace it--needs new control board and other parts and repair company told me it isnt worth it. That is after I had to put in another part about 2 months ago because the ice maker was leaking. Also had a repair because something was wrong with the seal--that one it was still under warranty. The first repairman told me LG is the worst--looks good with decent price, but bad machine and worse service. According to him every part is always on back order and you have to wait 30 days. Will never buy again.
I purchased a top loading LG Washer from Sears, and purchased the extended master plan warranty with it. Within 2 years it has already started rusting near the dispenser drawer. Sears would offer no help whatsoever, and said the rust is not covered. NEVER buying an LG, NEVER shopping at Sears ever again. I have been a long-standing customer and spend thousands on appliances with them in the last five years, including a stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer. They would do absolutely nothing to help me.
I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make the same mistake I made by buying this LG refrigerator. I bought this refrigerator on 5/6/13 at Famous Tate in Brandon, Fl, and paid $2545 for it—my very first “modern”, expensive fridge. This is Model # LF X 319455T/02 (stainless steel French Door). I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning, and after reading all these reviews, I can see that I am clearly not the only one.The food has gone bad periodically over the last 5 years, resulting in my having to throw stuff out quite often. I confess that I actually ate food that I probably shouldn’t have, and for someone with an autoimmune condition who MUST have fresh fruits and vegetables to survive, this is completely unacceptable. There had been water accumulating in the refrigerator for a long time, and a few months ago there was water all over the left hand side of the bottom shelf as well as all over the floor. I immediately called LG to discuss the problem, and rather than pay them in advance for one of their techs to come here, I paid a technician from Mr. Appliance to come here. He may not have been an authorized LG technician, but he was highly trained and extremely knowledgeable about these LG french door refrigerators. By the way, most repair technicians in my area refuse to even work on LG appliances. That should tell you something!!The guy (Ron) who came to my house determined that the automatic ice maker was causing the problem, and he literally showed me how this one defective part always malfunctions in these models. He further explained that eventually the compressor will probably go out. The replacement part has a heater built into it that supposedly will prevent this problem from occurring, but between parts and labor, it would cost me over $500. That day he enlightened me about a lot of things, and after doing extensive research, I found out that everything he told me that day was true. For instance, I found out that LG has known about this manufacturer’s defect for years, and yet continues to manufacture new models with the same defective part. Sounds very shady and evil to me. Nevertheless, I was going to agree to the repair whether Ron did it or LG (for a slight discount), but then decided against investing more money into this piece of crap.Instead, I bought new water and fresh air filters, and tried to remember to empty the ice container periodically. I should mention that I have NEVER personally used the water dispenser or the ice maker, but I thought it would be nice to have it for any guests who occasionally come over. That being said, for the last few months, the fridge seemed to work ok—not great, but ok. Then the last few weeks there was more water accumulating inside food containers. I just wiped them out, threw more rotten food out, and just put up with it. There’s also a strange discoloration on the touchscreen panel as well as a stainless steel finish looking like it’s peeling off. Clearly very cheaply made. It’s interesting that they charge a premium price for a cheaply made product. Don’t get me started on the faulty design which has its own set of problems. So, on Monday night (7/30/18) or technically Tuesday 12:30 am (8/31/18), the fridge started making an extremely loud noise. There was water everywhere and everything in the freezer had defrosted. I immediately called LG (they do answer the phone 24/7), and was instructed to turn off the breaker to the fridge. I did that, and at least that stopped the noise. I also dumped out the ice container in order to prevent matters getting worse. The representative told me that according to the schedule, a service tech. most likely would be able to come out Friday and for me to call back at 8:00 am to confirm. Obviously I’d have to pay $125 in advance plus pay the service tech for any additional labor. I explained to her that I now have to clean up the huge mess, try to salvage what food I can, and that I’m very ill, 80 lbs and need to be properly nourished to stay alive.I asked her how I’m expected to live without a refrigerator for 4-5 days and probably much longer after ordering parts and having the tech come back to complete the repair. She had absolutely no response for me. I did call back later that morning, paid $125, and scheduled the tech. to come to my house on Friday. Meanwhile I drove to the convenience store in the middle of the night, bought 4 bags of ice and went home to start the cleanup process. I worked all night long using the wet vac, taking everything out of the fridge and freezer, throwing lots of stuff away, and putting whatever food I thought worth saving into coolers with ice. I thoroughly dried the inside of the fridge and freezer, and then proceeded to clean and sterilize. Needless to say, I never slept having worked tirelessly throughout the night. Needless to say I was utterly exhausted.Due to the dire emergency I was in, I sent messages to 7 people on Craigslist and Next Door desperate to get a fridge delivered to me ASAP. The LG repair tech (Sonny) called me later that day and instructed me to turn the fridge back on, and said that he could come here on Saturday-not Friday. Fortunately, that horrible noise never came back on, so that at least was a relief. He proceeded to explain to me that from what I told him, it sounds like a very complex problem, and that his labor would be very intensive, and it could cost me over $1,000 between parts and labor regardless of the compressor being covered under the 10 year warranty. He honestly didn’t think it was worth fixing, and suggested I buy another fridge. We’ve talked several times in the last few days, and he has reiterated that I need to purchase another fridge ASAP. He clearly didn’t want to come here and told me to call LG and cancel the appt.I’ve also been on the phone with LG multiple times in the last 4 days for hours complaining about the situation to no avail. LG representatives in the Philippines are very nice, but there’s a huge communication problem, and it’s beyond frustrating trying to get my point across. I kept getting put on hold, transferred to various individuals, and no one seemed to understand a word I said. All of this massive stress compounded by 4 days of virtually no sleep has comprised my health even more. This entire ordeal has been an absolute nightmare, and I’m outraged that someone can very casually say “Oh well, just go buy another fridge” after I spent over $2500 on what I thought (confirmed by the sales guy) would be a state of the art refrigerator that would last for years. Boy did that turn out to be wrong. I agree with what the rest of you said about LG.I will NEVER buy another LG appliance, and advise everyone else to avoid this brand like the plague. Not surprisingly, I’ve found my brand new LG front loader to be quite frustrating. What a joke “LG Life’s Good”. Life is anything but good when you have an LG appliance. More like a nightmare. I deserve to be compensated for all the food I’ve lost and continue to lose as well as the toll this has taken on my health. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with LG and the hours it has taken me to write this complaint. The abhorrent way in which LG manufactures their products and provides service is nothing short of unconscionable, and I really hope we can all get appropriately compensated for what we’ve had to endure.
I would give LG service negative stars, if I can. I purchased a dishwasher in April (model number: LDS4821ST), and the unit has worked pretty well. Recently and suddenly, the paint on one of the control buttons started to come off. I called LG and sent them pictures. I was told that it was a cosmetic problem, and they would not repair. I understand if this was a year or two from now, but four months after purchase and the paint is coming off? It is an obvious quality problem.I purchased a washer and a drier from LG about five years ago, and feel they were of much better quality than their current products. I bought a fridge as well in April, and that has problems already, as well. LG was totally dismissive; what is worse is that they refused to send me their response in writing! Im still paying for the appliance that already looks crappy!
When you pay $3500 for an appliance you do NOT expect it to break down and require the same part (that cost $240 to have the repairman fix) every 6 months. We bought the L-G LMXC 23746 at Best Buy in June 2015. In November 2016 shortly after the 1 year warranty expired (of course!) we had to replace the Evaporator Fan Motor. Since that time every 6 months the refrigerator starts to make a loud hum and we know it is burning out, AGAIN! Every time the repair man comes it cost $70 for the part L-G EAU 61505014 (Motor, DC), $50 for a service call, and $110 for labor to replace the fan. Clearly there is an issue with this LG product considering all the reviews citing the same problem. I thought there were laws to protect consumers from companies who make and sell DEFECTIVE products. But I guess we just have to keep paying $500 a year to fix it twice a year or invest thousands to replace a 2 year old appliance. NEITHER option is desirable! Disappointed with LG and with Best Buy for promoting this clearly DEFECTIVE product as a high-end REFRIGERATOR appliance.
Have the recall issue and LG sent a repair co. out and they replaced the main board. It is now a week later and having the same problems with the range. Temps rising on their own. I called LG again and they told me it is a one time fix. I have all LG appliances and am replacing them as I can. Just replaced the dishwasher 2 months ago and the range will be next followed by the washer that Im having issues with as well. Lifes not so good.
I purchased glass top electric range, French door refrigerator, dishwasher, & microwave about 7 years ago. I’ve already had all 3 major appliance serviced. Dishwasher 6mos after purchase, frig 3 yrs, range 6 mod ago flashed F9 no heat in oven. Now 2 LG elements on stove, sometimes heat up, sometimes not. Usually if I put them on high the will go on, but can’t regulate them. I’ve always owned GE appliances and never replaced bc they no longer worked. They’d been out dated. This will be my 2nd repair for a couple hundred $$ within 6mos on a 7yr old stove. Also NO ONE wants to service LG. At least in my area. Appliances look great but not dependable.
We remodeled the kitchen, went to Home Depot and bought everything there. The quality of the LG refrigerator is not too good. It was a terrible experience. Maybe we got a lemon. They came out, got it and repaired it, and it’s leaking. They told us to get rid of it, and we just haven’t gotten rid of it yet cause they took the tag off it. They replaced everything in it. They paid us off on the refrigerator, and now, we got another one.
I purchased my LG washer in January of this year and I couldnt be more disappointed! Im constantly getting the UE (unbalanced) code when it tries to spin so then it fills back up with water and tries to automatically rebalance itself - which never works - and what a huge waste of water!!! I have to stand over my washer and constantly rearrange my clothes numerous times until it works and sometimes it doesnt if the load is small. Actually you cant even do a small load in this machine due to this problem. I end up going old school and wringing out my clothes by hand! I so wish I had my old washer back as this is awful. I wouldnt recommend this washer to anyone.
Here I find myself reporting ANOTHER problem with our LG refrigerator that cost almost $3000. Its the three door with the freezer door on the bottom and is supposed to be wonderful because it has a linear something or other. The freezer compressor lasted just over one year. The labor warranty had expired and the compressor was covered. It still cost me $450 for the repair. Now, about one year later, the freezer has stopped working two more times with all the frozen food thawing. Curiously, after the food thaws, the motor starts working again. This happened to me again today. Fortunately, I have an old reliable Kenmore backup in the garage. I think that LG does not deserve another customer. Expect problems from them if you dare buy one. They should definitely be OOB. OUT OF BUSINESS!
Received a replacement compressor, but it was the wrong part. Had to contact customer service to let them know on Aug 12th. They asked for a picture of the serial tag, which I sent that same day. They replied Aug 14th, saying they were checking with their parts dept. I contacted them Aug 16 asking for an update, and again on Aug 22, to which they replied that they would be happy to look into this for you.On Aug 27, I got a message saying that the part should arrive that day. The tech we hired came 2 days later to install. So... after 2 months of living out of a cooler, we had our refrigerator back. As I said in my original review, the refrigerator is perfect for us, I love it. Unfortunately, I wouldnt buy another LG product, ever. If they start giving them away for free, Id be in line, but, nope. Not spending any money on their products. I still stand by the one star rating.
Our LG refrigerator compressor went out. I have been on the phone 4 times for hours and today was told the compressor warranty is only 7 years when I was previously told all was good it was 10 years. They had previously asked for all my information each time and even email of the repair place to initiate the warranty. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. What a waste of time. I will NEVER EVER BUY LG again.
This washer goes off kilter on any load that doesnt have exactly the same weight items in it. You cant wash jeans and tee shirts or flannels, even if you balance the jeans. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Dont buy this washer.
Purchased LG product in November 2014 and it did not even last 5 years. Compressor is not working and cost of labor to replace is over $700.00. LG will only assist with cost of repair for 36 months. It is evident that LG does not produce quality produce. If LG invested in a quality product, then LG would stand behind its products and company would offer assistance if their refrigerator stopped working after 4.5 years.
When a sheet is drying in the dryer, it wraps itself into a big tube and rolls around the drum that way. The outside becomes bone-dry; the inside remains wet. LG says thats the way the dryer works. To improve the situation, I should go to the dryer when it happens, open the door, pull out and shake out the sheet, put it back in and begin drying again. Within a very few minutes, the sheet becomes a tube again! Do not buy an LG dryer!
Purchased LG washer/dryer set 18 months ago and it has to be the worst ever!! Washer: clothes come out partially dry, with new spots that it didnt have going in, lint from some unknown origin, still soiled. Steam dryer: turns off after 2 minutes and clothes still wet so we have to use timed drying. And dont use steam function because clothes come out soaked, yes, from the d-r-y-e-r. We thought we were getting the top of the line water efficient appliance and ended up getting nothing but frustration. Nothing efficient when you have to wash everything on bulky/heavy soil just to get it somewhat clean and then to add the need to wash several times to get them clean only adds insult to injury. Never again will I purchase another LG washer/dryer and wondering why they are not being held accountable for such a lousy product!!!
LG has a good reputation, has stylish fridges that work well and last a long time. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. When I do finally purchase another fridge it will most likely be LG as well. Spacious, keeps items cold, never had an issue with it not working or things getting hot. Very good refrigerator that I expect to last a long time. I would like more door shelves and more drawers though. Very rarely it will get TOO cold and slightly freeze certain items, but that has only happened a couple times. 10 out of 10 even with that one tiny minute issues. Would recommend.
Have owned three LG refrigerators, all ended up throwing away after multiple repairs. All came in new, but either began leaking (first two) or not cooling (compressor) right after warranty expired. It cost a lot of money and time to deal with the headache. No more LG!
We had this beautiful fridge installed in June of 2012 and right away the freezer compartment spilled ice all over the floor when you opened the freezer drawer. The repairman messed with the seal on one visit, then replaced the seal on another visit and finally replaced the freezer door on the third visit. Problem with that was then resolved. Was gone for three months and back home for summer and the freezer quit working on July 4 - water all over the hard wood floors and freezer food thawed--they came out and did repairs on a fan. A week later the same thing happened - came out - needs new compressor. Came out with the right part no. on the box, but when he went to install it, wrong compressor - could not even restart the fridge section - so without fridge too. Yesterday they installed the correct compressor and freezer wont go below 29 degrees. American has been very good to do repairs and are trying to help us. We also bought the extended warranties, but that company has been somewhat difficult to work with. It is like no one knows who should do what. Very unhappy with this product. Now I have seen many others experiencing the same issues. Should the consumer have to suffer inconveniences and perhaps even damage to their home PLUS pay for the product and warranties especially when LG surely knows they have problems? I feel badly for the repairmen, but am wondering why companies continue to sell these products when obviously there are significant issues. What are we to do?
I wanted to purchase all the same appliances for my remodeled kitchen. Big mistake, I will never buy a LG dishwasher or recommend ever again. Had trouble since the first day I used it. Does not get dishes clean and the control board took a crap immediately. Pure junk.
Purchased LG LFXS29626 refrigerator in mid-2015, the people at Home Depot were swamped with calls today. “It’s been like this for 4 months” she said. The Samsung and LG fridges made from 2013-2016 are all failing at an alarming rate, and any retailer that carried these disasters are feeling the backlash. The compressor on mine failed at 3yrs and 2 days exactly. I had purchased a 3 yr warranty, which including the 1 year from the manufacturer but doesn’t mean 4 years total. It’s still 3 yrs total. The first line of customer service with Home Depot refused to help with anything, but as most of us have done recently, we had to escalate to her supervisor. Credit where credit is due, Sup honored the extra few days and bailed us out of an $1,100.00 repair.Your mileage may vary but my compressor (the “New” Linear Compressor, guaranteed to last at least 2 years) failed along with the start switch block and a micro leak somewhere in their new closed-loop Freon system. But here’s where the issues started piling up: there’s no compressors in stock anywhere in the US. They’ve been failing at such an alarming rate they can’t be found. And to make matters worse there is no evidence whatsoever that LG’s engineering team has made any changes to the awful design of this piece. Their materials are pitifully weak and often just pot metal, their quality control/fit is ridiculously sloppy, and their whole concept of parts design is a disaster. My neighbor has one, purchased in January of 2015. His failed around last Christmas so we were biting our nails wondering when ours was going to let go. You can set your watch to it. We have 7 people in the family, and nobody is geared up to help us. The failures are just too chaotic. Home Depot has a 10 cu. Ft. loaner (a very small 3’ college dorm size), but it stays lent out due to the recent crises. I threatened to just buy another large fridge, this time one that would last like a Whirlpool - then return it. But they’re wise to that one. The new policy for fridge returns is 48 hours. Same for Lowe’s, Best Buy etc. After all, why should HD have to pay and compensate customers for sloppy Chinese imports that we keep gobbling up at a fever pitch?A call to LG revealed there’s nothing they can do for me even if case is escalated, so it’s living out of a cooler chest for the next 3 weeks. The service tech that came to the house noted that it would indeed fail again. He was working 10 calls that day, and 7 were either Samsung or LG refrigerators. And all of those were the compressor. He knew what my problem was before he walked in, but verified it anyhow to make it official. He and I discussed the “good” fridges for future reference: 1) Whirlpool (said he rarely has issues with those), 2) Some Kitchen Aids (watch out because LG makes some of those) and 3) Kenmore (watch out again because sometimes Samsung makes certain models). 4-**) SubZero and all the high-end units, but they still fail through the complexity of design. He’s been doing this for 7 years, so he knows. But we Americans are such suckers for flashy stuff. Like $7,000.00 internet refrigerators, a 20” LED color display, LED lighting with 4 doors, 2 icemakers, shiny black finish, two freezer doors, doors within doors for the fridge portion, stereo speakers, cameras inside the fridge to see what’s inside while you’re at the store with the cell phone app. And we love to impress our friends with a huge shiny expensive fridge. The kind that are designed to break in 3 year cycles. We rotated food to an old Kenmore circa 1982 that’s still running like a champ since we bought it 40 years ago. Not too big but it helped. Shelves are broken and doors squeak, but it still gets ice cold. No people, they don’t make them like they used to. And certainly no one cares one way or the other. It’s like buying a Mercedes; you’ll get little sympathy from anyone when it breaks down on the interstate. Especially the dealer. I’ve heard more ramblings of a class action against LG and Samsung of late than any time before. I’d keep your eyes peeled.
We have had an F3 error code issue for months, it threw the error for the first time 2 years to the month from date of manufacture. We have had the range for 26 months and the error for the last six months of that. After numerous calls with LG they would tell us to unplug the unit and at first that would clear the error only for it to return a few days to a week later, then when those calls resulted in the error never clearing they suggested that we have a tech out to fix it at our own expense since it was beyond warranty. After numerous visits from a LG referred appliance repair company, having LG first suggest we spend $200 on a part to replace the buttons, then when that didnt work asked to spend another $160 on the actual control panel part for the electronic system LG shipped a part for this stove which does not fit in the actual model we have. They apparently have discontinued the original part that is needed, at this point there is no part that fits our range which was manufactured 2 years ago in March 2018, we received the stove in June 2018 and have had issues with the F3 error button in a continuous shortage stage since about March 2020.This was not a cheap gas range. It cost ~$2,000 and to have spent $360 on parts + another $200 on labor at this point we are so frustrated. that is $560 that we could have put towards a stove that would not be a continuous pain the the side to have repaired, for an issue that should not be coming up so close to the manufacture date on an appliance of this cost only to find that they dont make the part we need any longer. I would not recommend purchasing a LG range to anyone I know.
Do not ever buy LG. The drawers have been replaced multiple times as well as shelving. Handle has been replaced twice and is broken again. Parts discontinue so now Im buying a new fridge. NEVER AGAIN LG.
In 2012 I bought LG French door refrigerator. This refrigerator last 18 months. After several attempts to fix and few hundreds dollars of groceries dumped in the garbage I had to buy a new one. Because of custom kitchen I created by appliances only LG can fit. My new refrigerator still working but I cant use water it still smelly. Another time I got upset and decide to look for similar complaints after 2 pages of peoples cry about this horrible products I realized how lucky I am it just stinky ice and water. My question is how come LG still in business??? Is any of high authorities ever read this feedbacks??? My experience to get in touch failed. Unfortunately I dont speak Hindi. I hardly I learned English. So my idea not to be writer of bad feedbacks but to see if someone has a balls to answer simple questions. I am waiting. P.S. This item price $3000.00. WOW!!!
2013 LG 3-Door French Refrigerator, out of warranty. Ice maker quit, replaced. Still no ice. Makes cubes but have to manually cycle the ice maker. Fridge only cools to 50 degrees, freezer only to 22. Cleaned coils, cleaned connectors, checked wiring. Compressor hot, fans running. No obstructions to air vents & ducts. Feel cool air blowing out. What an overpriced, short lifespan POS. I will bet that the 15 year old GE side-by-side that was replaced is still working great. LG... NEVER AGAIN.Updated on 7/21/2017: Jaime of Sears Appliance Repair came by to diagnose the fridge today 7/19/2017. 4 year old LG French 3 Door Refrigerator Model #LFX25991ST/02 TL;DR... DONT BUY LG! READ THE REVIEWS! The original issue was the ice maker would freeze cubes but not automatically harvest them. The tray would fill, cubes would freeze and I could manually run the harvest cycle but 2 trays per day (one morning and one night) was not a serviceable solution. I replaced the ice maker and same problem. After further reading, I measured the compartment temperatures and both the fridge & freezer were a bit too warm even at max cooling settings on the door. So the ice maker sensor never got a cold/frozen signal to harvest the cubes.Fridge was @ approximately 50 degrees and freezer approximately 25 degrees (will still freeze cubes) measured with a Harbor Freight digital thermometer. This was checked dozens of times by me in the weeks prior to calling for service as I tried to troubleshoot the problem by cleaning the coils, checking for obstructions to air flow, check for anything burnt, broke or otherwise defective... Removing the freezer contents and all drawers and popping off the rear cover panel we saw only a little icing on the freezer coils area. Jaime said that there should be even icing on all the coils. Mine had icing only on the top row pointing to a weak compressor. The repair would be in the $500-$1000+ range. And even if it was repaired, there was no guarantee that it would be permanent and last. Even replacing *every* part would not guarantee success as there could be a leak or obstruction in the lines inside the refrigerator walls and they are not repairable.Looks like a new fridge is in order. Jaime had five LG repairs on the schedule for today! Dont waste your hard earned money on LG! This one was 4 years and one month old to the day. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT waste your hard earned money and valuable time on an LG. They are notorious for blown compressors and major issues requiring the totaling of the refrigerator and repurchasing a new one. This one has cost me $3030 (refrigerator) + $174 (service calls) + $150 (ice maker) for 4 years and one month of use. LGone of the biggest POS and worst appliance investments ever.
Dishwasher is the right size and it meets my needs/my requirements. It cleans the dishes well. However, scraps of food from dishes is left in drain in bottom of dishwasher. This causes a bad odors, if not cleaned.
Model: LFX28978SW, 3 French Door refrigerator. Less than 10 years old. - 1st month: Plastic guide piece in ice dispenser chute broke off... Ended up mixed in with crushed ice. - 2 years: Mullion spring--a stainless steel spring--broke. - 4 years: Had to replace water valve assembly. - 9 years: 2 mullion spring broke... again... Lucky I bought 2 springs when 1st broke. I could see that it was a weak part and would likely break again. - General: Door seal around mullion torn, both sides. I certainly wont be buying any LG product after this experience. Ive had 3 other reefers; 2 have lasted 2+ decades and one, a KitchenAid, lasted 30 years.
The LG is great. There is plenty of room for large trays or platters. Unlike most refrigerators today the design lets you utilize maximum interior space. Freezer is also very large. The only thing missing is sliding shelves. Well worth the price.
Extremely unhappy is a understatement! Started rusting after a couple of years surrounding the bleach dispenser and now at just 5 years old it is continuing to rust around the entire washer to the soap dispenser. Ive never seen anything like this happen ever in any washer Ive previously owned. Not every cycle washes correctly! I would call it a manufacturers defect but LG does not see it that way! After this experience I will never purchase another LG product again!
Well this washing machine is AWESOME. Works great and I can wash 15 beach towels at one time and even King Size duvet sets and NO problem. I have had this machine going on 10 years and I have had No issues. Even sings me a nice tune when it is finished....
I purchased an LG refrigerator June of 2015. Upon receiving the fridge just a week later the freezer stopped working. Had it repaired and was under warranty. Now July of 2017 the compressor stopped working. TWO major components on a two year old refrigerator is ridiculous! The customer service at LG is unbelievable. And not in a good way. I called 5 times and got someone different each time. NO ONE CARES there. I was given the runaround for a month now. You wouldnt believe what I went through... I will NEVER buy another LG product, nor will I recommend to anyone. Beware...this company doesnt care! I am now buying a new fridge...after the one that I bought from LG is definitely a lemon. Trust me my new one wont be an LG! Their products are cheaply made and quality is poor. Do not buy! Customers dont matter!
We bought an LG Refrigerator 4 years ago. The compressor recently failed. We were astonished to learn that it would take 3 weeks before it could be repaired. However, it got much worse. A few days before the scheduled repair, we were notified the repair would be delayed another week. Then on the day of the newly scheduled repair the repair technician called in sick. We were delayed another day. The next day the technician went to the wrong address. The repair was delayed another 2 weeks. At the next repair date a tech finally showed up at our house, only to inform us that LG shipped us a generic compressor and he had not been provided the tools to install this generic compressor. The next available appointment for a tech with the appropriate tools is 3 weeks away. The tech also informed us that he couldnt even guarantee that the compressor would fix the problem and we might be back in the same boat in a matter of weeks or months. I will never buy another LG product. After being without a refrigerator for over 2 months, we are likely to just go buy a new refrigerator at this point. What a horrible, frustrating and maddening experience.
I have an LG refrigerator that has a sealed system problem, and still within the 7 years warranty. I had both Sears and LG serviceman telling me its not repairable. I just got a call from LG that they will prorate and give me $333. Thats nonsense. The user guide says, Your LG refrigerator will be repaired or replaced at LGs option... It doesnt tell me anywhere in here that it will be prorated and I get less money than what I paid Sears ($294.24) and LG ($89.00) for determining the issue. I had Sears to checkout the refrigerator and 3 trips, they determined the leak is from the cabinet. They said I have to go to LG. I called LG and they said they wont take Sears word and documentation, and I have to get an LG repairman to come and look at it. The LG guy showed up and told me yep, thats it. Not repairable and should be replaced by LG. LG called me today and they are going to give me less than what I paid to tell them the sealed system that has 7-year warranty is bad. Do not buy LG if thats how they stand behind their warranty.
We purchased the French door/bottom freezer unit for $3000.00 (model LFXC24726S). Upon plugging it in, it seemed to be cooling down, although the ice maker was not working. We reported this on 2/19/15. At that time it seemed that the unit on the whole was cold enough to stock with food. The fancy door temperature reading reported that the freezer was at 0 degrees and the refrigerator was at 37 degrees. NOT THE SITUATION!! The next morning everything that we put in the freezer was totally soft. By that afternoon we were sure that the refrigerator section was nowhere close to 37 degrees. We spoke to LG service repeatedly and although we were told that we would have service on Monday morning, we waited all day and finally a service tech came at 5 pm. He diagnosed that the unit would need a new mother board and would be back the next morning. We again waited all day and at 7 pm he returned with another service tech. At 9:30 pm they said that they believed that all problems had been solved. The next morning the tech called to ask if everything was working properly. Nice of him to call, but in fact, the unit was totally warm; although the temperature reading on the door still reported that the freezer was 0 degrees and the refrigerator was 37 degrees. So much for the reliability of this fancy technology. It is now 5 working days later and we are told by the executive team at LG that this refrigerator will not be replaced until everything has been tried to repair it. The compressor that the tech is now saying would be the next thing to try is on back order and it will be at least another week until that is available. Until LG has tried to replace every part and rebuild this unit they will keep us waiting. Thanks a lot. We want everyone to consider this situation before you decide to buy an LG product.
Purchased the DLE8000V dryer and the WM8000H. A washer in Graphite, great in the store with bright lights, cannot read the front of machines to set the dial, lights around the dial make it harder. Dryer lint filter need to scrape lint off.
I am quite disappointed that my french door fridge stopped working with having it less than 4 years. The repairman knew exactly what the problem was when he saw the make/model. He said he has repaired oodles of them. Even though the parts are covered for 10 years the cost for labor is $550. I read online that there was a class action suit but the one I was looking at was dropped. If anyone else knows of a current one I could join please let me know. I dont know that I would feel comfortable every purchasing another LG product.
Bought higher-end LG Electric stove, in 2014 and in about 3 yrs the heating elements are going bad. As of 2 weeks ago, the front right element is useless. Now the 2 left elements are acting up. If I turn on the back left one, the front left one also turns on, creating a dangerous (unexpected) hot surface issue. In all the years and all the different places I lived in, weve only had lower cost non-LG models, that never failed. This time we paid more and in no time its going to hell. I will never consider LG for any category of products.
Model LFX31925ST - Purchased this refrigerator Sept. 2011. Very disappointed and thank the lord I purchased the extended warranty. While under regular warranty the electronic face panel had to be replaced. From then on it has been downhill. Today May 1st 2014 we were told that the 5th fan must be replaced in the unit again. In 2013 from July to October we had parts replaced. Every time it was something else that needed replaced. They even took out the freon and replaced electrical parts - that visit was 2 hours. We went for months without the freezer and ice. Would never buy an LG product again.
I had my refrigerator just a few months before it started freezing my food in the produce bins. I had it repaired only to have it do it again and the refrigerator temperature would fluctuate. Again I had it serviced only to have it happen again and then it would not keep my overall refrigerator cold enough. I have lost food and then been without a refrigerator in between repairs. Now they are going to replace it but I am now without a refrigerator while paper works needs to be submitted and processed. Then I will have to wait for LG to replace the refrigerator which I was told would be approximately 7-10 days after the paper work was done. My advice would be get another brand!!
The lint screen pops up and a corner of a piece of clothing will catch and twist and roll until it is a huge wad of clothing. It is very difficult to undo the wad and has ruined several pieces of clothing. My husband took his time to follow a YouTube fix to no avail. And since the lint screen doesnt sit snugly it allows lint to get into the dryer so its a fire hazard.
We noticed about two years ago dryer started clunking. It seized up tonight because there are 8 inch splits down the drum on front and back from the seam. To me thats a defect.
I bought an LG Range model LRE3981ST from Home Depot in February 2011. On July 2011, I noticed rust spots on the front door of the range; I called service and booked a tech to come out. After waiting for an hour (and now late for work), the technician called me and said he did not have approval for the service call, and it will be a $75 charge. I was also asked why I didn’t read the service contract, so I told him not to bother to come out. I called the customer service and pulled it out of them that there is a service call fee of $75.00. I called Home Depot and explained the situation. They said they will give me the $75.00 fee back on my credit card, and to go ahead in booking an appointment. I tried today (August 10) to make an appointment. LG said to call back on August 15 since they will not show any available appointments until that date. I was also told that rust spots are not covered. Why did I pay for an extended warranty? I will now never buy another LG product again.
We have a client that has an LG wf-t1050tp. The outer drum got damaged and needs replacement; unfortunately, LG does not carry this part. Can someone please advise me if there is a substitute that we can use? The washing machine is in a very good condition and the client wants it repaired.
I have a nearly new LG refrigerator which is not working. Stopped cooling in fridge and bottom freezer. After waiting on hold for over 10 minutes the customer service rep who doesnt speak English (I kept having to say excuse me for him to repeat himself) questioned me about the product itself. Refuses to send out a technician for repair (even though its under warranty) and has me reset it and then tells me if it doesnt work in 4-6 hours I need to call back. Nope. If it doesnt work, Ill call in a a repair company to come. In the meantime, all my food in freezer and refrigerator will be ruined. Not a great way to run a company.
We bought an LG microwave model LMV1683ST. It was manufactured in December 2012. The top of the microwave caught on fire near the light inside. This is very dangerous to say the least. We purchased the microwave at Home Depot. Avoid this model at all costs. It looks good but its also very loud.
Dryer performs as expected and is quiet. The top loader washer with no agitator takes time getting use to because it looks like its broken but appears to be normal. Though it uses less water adding more water seems to work better.
Front load washer computer broke after only 2 and 1/2 years old. Home depot said it would cost $350 to fix, LG said things break and it was my problem. Not gonna spend $350 only to have it break again in 2 years.
Purchased a LG Refrigerator from Home Depot in July of 2012. Within probably a month, I had to call the company and have them come and service the freezer as it was completely frosted up. I did not find the person on the phone to be polite at all and pretty much implied that I had done something to make the freezer frost up. That problem was fixed and I have not had any further issues with the freezer. However, the plastic shelves are pretty much all broken as well as the plastic drawers. I called the company on two occasions to complain about this and once again I felt that the phone staff were very rude. I told them that all the shelves were broken so they sent me one shelf. Doesnt do me much good as they are all broken and some of the support for the shelves to sit on are also broken. I would never, ever, ever purchase a LG product again. Their support staff not very polite or helpful and the product is horrible.
New LG washing machine from Home Depot. Right away problems. 5-6 calls over 2 months. Nothing is being done to improve this situation. They keep promising theyll send me a new one. I filled out the correct paperwork and they continue to ignore me. Several times I have been given a phone number that doesnt work. Almost all service people cannot speak clear enough English and it makes the entire process very frustrating. Stay away from LG.
I bought my new LG topload washer and dryer on 7/1/12 and noticed after about a week that my white clothes werent getting clean. I turned my tankless heater up to 140 and put my sheets into wash. I went to add a pair of socks and noticed the water was barely warm. My heater is fine so on the next hot load, I watched when the washer was filling and it was putting more cold water in than hot! I called LG Support line and they said that was how it was supposed to be and I should try putting it on the bulky bedding setting. I did and it had no effect. I called Sears because when I bought it, they said I had a 90-day return option. They said, yes you do, but since I used the washer, I couldnt return it! I will never do business with Sears or buy another LG product. I would imagine the front loaders are the same but it would be impossible to check.
The stove sensors were broken from time received and never fully repaired. The oven overheats and the temperature is not accurate. The refrigerator’s water to ice maker cracked and flooded the kitchen. They dont make replacements because “they dont break”. The shelves are flimsy and cracks easily. The dishwasher’s motherboard fried after 1 year, and they refused any compensation.
I bought a LG Over the oven Microwave about two years ago. It just suddenly died on me after gentle use. I went to heat up a small meal and realized the thing was totally dead. It did not show the time, the inside light was not on - nothing. I checked my house power outlet to make sure it was ok and it was. So, it was the microwave that was not working. I will never buy another LG product. And I will also tell everyone not to buy their products.
Pity theres not a less than 0 stars option. I do several loads of laundry a week for a family of five. The washer doesnt even wet the clothes: I mean the clothes are actually dry in the middle of the load; only the outside of a medium-sized load gets wet. I called LG. When I told the repair guy that the washer didnt get the clothes wet, he checked it and said nothings wrong, thats just how it goes. Here is the proper way to use this washer: Pretreat and load clothes. Run water in laundry room sink until hot; fill a bucket with soapy water, and pour over clothes in machine to make sure they get wet. Set washer to: cotton, pre-wash, extra high heat, highest spin speed, heavily soiled, water plus, and turn on the machine. Wait two and a half hours, and then repeat. Thats right--about two and a half hours to get a load done, five to get them more-or-less presentable. Cold is cold; tap cold--whatever that it--is cold, warm is cold, hot is cold, extra hot is actually hot.I emailed Energy Star: they said that if I have a problem with the machine I should call the manufacturer. When I explained that the machine was working to spec--that it was designed that way--they explained that they DONT TEST the Energy Star machines to make sure they do the job theyre supposed to, they rely on the manufacturer to confirm that the appliance does the job its supposed to AND meet Energy Star requirements. Somebody needs to clue in the EPA and Energy Star: if you have to wash every load twice, in blazing hot water, and replace the appliance every 3 - 5 years (typical of modern machines) youre not saving resources. Getting rid of this and getting an old-fashioned Speed Queen.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator in Sept. 2018. It quit cooling in March 2020. Had a service call and was told that the part would be ordered and the technician would come back to install it. Never heard back from the technician so I called the service center. I was told that the part had never been ordered and would be ordered. I never received a call regarding the part so I called again. I was told that the part was discontinued and could no longer be ordered. The person at the call center could not help me. I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was asked for proof of my purchase. I sent my Lowes credit card statement showing the purchase date, what was purchased, what store it was purchased from, and the price. The statement had all of the information that was requested from LG.LG came back and asked for the actual receipt. The original receipt was taken by the service technician so that he would have the information to order the part. I cannot get a copy since the Lowes store that I purchased the refrigerator from has since closed. Furthermore, LG has all of my information. When I made the initial service call, they looked up my account with my phone number and told me that they had all of my information. As of today, the BBB has closed my complaint as LG is refusing to repair or replace my refrigerator with the receipt that their technician has. Just infuriates me to be out $2,300.00! Buyer beware! There are several class action suits on the refrigerator that I purchased but LG continues to sell the defective appliance and so does Lowes. They have looked for every outlet to get out of making good on their appliance!
My refrigerator stopped working on July 5th. I contacted LG the next day and the soonest they could have one of their certified repair vendors out was July 8th. At that time they determined it was the compressor which was still covered by warranty. They ordered the part and we were given the runaround. One day the part is being shipped, the next days its on back-order. After 2 weeks and too many phone calls to count we are told that that part is discontinued and they would have to research to see what to do. WHY DO YOU DISCONTINUE A PART ON A REFRIGERATOR THAT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY???2 weeks ago they said the part was being shipped and should be in on July 30th. Today is August 8th and we are told today the part should be in by the end of the week - August 12th. As of now I have been without a refrigerator for 5 WEEKS!!! We looked into the part ourselves and found out that we could order the part online and get it installed tomorrow but LG refuses to reimburse us for the part which is the warranty item. We asked them why they couldnt order from this company and they said they dont do that. They offered no pro-rated refund on my fridge as they initially discussed so Im stuck with either sitting another week without a refrigerator in the middle of the summer or I have to buy the part myself and pay for the WHOLE THING or go out and buy an entirely new refrigerator. How would they feel if their family didnt have a refrigerator for over 5 weeks. Thank God I have a wonderful neighbor who is letting me use her garage refrigerator. I am also out several hundred $$ in food that I have had to throw out because there was nowhere for me to store it and keep it cold for this extended period of time. NEVER EVER BUY AN LG APPLIANCE!!!
I have purchased a new refrigerator from LG distributor. I have registered a complaint under RNA** for the refrigerator not cooling. After so many reminders, the problem is still unresolved therefore I am facing a crucial problem. Please sort out the problem on top priority so that I will continue to have confidence with LG products.
After our purchase of LG refrigerator, the compressor failed 15 months after purchase date. We had it replaced costing us 400.00 labor. It failed again 5 months later and it will cost another 400.00 for labor but how long will it last? After losing everything in refrigerator twice! Im not going to have it repaired. Im buying a new one. And it wont be an LG. Anything that is rebranding by LG anything that looks like an LG anything that has an L or a G in its name.
I felt really good about LG Refrigerators until mine had an issue. It really was not an issue at all, but the company that they sent to check it out made it into a big issue. I had called and said, My freezer was frosted over. Did I just not got it shut good or is there something wrong? There was also a shelf that had a crack. They would need to come out and fix that. And they said theyd take a look at it when they come out. So, the guy came out and fixed the other things, and then he said there were two fans for the freezer and one of them was only working part of the time. He also said he was gonna have to order another fan. And he scheduled to be back out the following Sunday to replace that. The following Sunday came around, and he didnt show up. I was here all day. I was calling them and they said he was gonna be here, but he never showed up. So, we set it again for the following Sunday. Again, the second Sunday in a row, my only day-off of the week, and I was sitting at the house at the couch, and again, he did not show up. And then, that got me. At one point, during the day, they lied and said they just talked to him and that he was gonna be calling me. I didnt get a call. And when I called them back, they said they were still trying to get a hold of him. So, then, I was trying to get LG to send somebody else, but they go right back to the same outfit. The third Sunday in a row, a different guy showed up and he took one look and said there is only one fan on this refrigerator freezer, and its working fine. He said, “You probably didnt have the door shut good, the reason it frosted over. So, I was really angry. And then, during this whole time, LG was sending me things, trying to get me to take another extended warranty on this. And Im like, Youre not even taking care of me on your original warranty. Im not about to spend more money for an additional warranty when I got treated so crappy in the first place.” Another thing is the first time, when the guy did come and he said that was what it needed, it was not long after that that also, it quit making ice. And I told him that when I was waiting for all those times for somebody to come back out, and its not making ice now. When the other guy did come out, he looked. The first guy had turned the ice maker off and never turned it back on.I like the refrigerator. I like that for the size because that size is the only size in my condo that I can get a refrigerator. And its working fine now, but at the same time, Ive been so upset about how I got treated, and I should have never been treated that way. I wish LG would do something to make up for it like give me another year of extended warranty and dont charge me for it. I didnt get my moneys worth.
We are very impressed with the fabric care provided by our LG washer and dryer pair. The steam cycle options really get clothes clean - the whites are whiter than with bleach. There were no bargain, but you get what you pay for.
I am currently battling with this ongoing issue. I have an LG Fridge that is only 3 years old and went out several months ago. LG has sent out very experienced techs that have basically replaced all parts in the fridge. They have said there is nothing left for them to do but LG insist on locating a very slow leak. This fridge has been repaired several times and It would work for a week or a few days then go out again. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and they refuse to reimburse me for the fridge. They want to locate a very small leak, yet every time I call LG no one can give me clear answers on the next step.I have been without a fridge for months and if it wasn’t for my Home Depot warranty case manager I would have given up. I don’t mind going thru the process but LG is disorganized, unreliable, and inconsiderate to its customers. Based on my experience I have told family, friends and co-workers not to buy a fridge from LG. Even when their product is a lemon they refuse to approve a payout and instead leave their customers without a working fridge and no response. Awful service!
We purchased a LG fridge, fall of 2014. Since then the compressors has gone out twice. The second time we had the fridge repaired we have been without a fridge for 2 weeks. They send someone to fix it. Still doesn’t work and I have to wait another week. Bad service and product.
Purchased refrigerator 12/13 and luckily I bought additional coverage on it because it stopped cooling in 5/15, 12/15, 9/16 and you have guessed it. 2/18 it is not working again. At this point I no longer have coverage on it but I have spent the last two days going back and forth with LG and finally after producing my original receipt they will as a courtesy schedule appt. It has been quite an ordeal when I complained of faulty refrigerator. They had the nerve to say there are no complaints on it... There really should be somewhere to file official complaints and not be stuck getting transferred back and forth and getting different answers from different people. DO NOT PURCHASE LG FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR.
Bought a brand new stacking washer/ dryer set in March of 2018. Loved the features and functions, and it ran smooth and quiet. By January 2019, the door hinge had seized, and we noticed dried soapy residue under the left side of the machine. Had to argue with LG to replace hinge under warranty, and they tried to charge me to un-stack the unit. The tech said that we should be more careful loading soap into the tray, and that dripping soap gets on the hinges and eats the metal. Seems like a pretty big problem for a washing machine where the dispenser tray is right above the door hinge.By April, the latch had also failed, but was out of warranty. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. They also tried to hit me for $150 to un-stack the unit. Now here we are in June 2019, with a seized hinge again! Door wont fully open or close, and now the door leaks when a cycle is run. However, the unit is also leaking from inside the soap apparatus somewhere inside the machine. The entire leg, face plate, and the inside of the machine is rusting below the soap tray. This probably caused the first hinge issue.Warranty company says it is a pre-existing condition and will not cover corrosion and rust related issues as that should be by the manufacturer. LG says its not their problem, and only offer a 90 day warranty on first hinge replacement, which is expired. I am now on the hook for the entire repair, which is yet to be determined (since I have to pay for someone to even come out and tell me what is wrong). Not even a year into it, and this thing is a piece of garbage. With the two units, tax, delivery, installation, extended warranty, new floor pan, etc., I spent $2000.00 on this set, and all of that is completely worthless when you have a problem with it.
I had a an old Kenmore dishwasher that lasted some 20+ years. It worked great but after so much use (twice a day!), I had to replace this n that on it but overall it was awesome! The end came when we were no longer able to buy the electronic board to operate (most of the repairs/replacement we did on our own, following the schematics and watching Youtube video instructions). Alas, finally, it died and the search was on for a new dishwasher. I read many reviews and settled on the LG. That was my first mistake. The LG was installed 6.18.18 (model #LDT7808ST). I was very excited to have a new, modern dishwasher after all these years! It was sadly short lived. Just a few short months later, I was sick of hearing the bing bing bing that goes off to alert the user of escaping steam. Except there wasnt any escaping steam. When the repairman came out ($150), he told me it was a problem with this model in that the steam created was leeching into the electronics and causing the board to short out, thus the bing bing bing noises. He replaced the board with a newly designed board to alleviate this issue that LG knew about. Finally the sound stopped and all was well. Except a few months later the binging began again. During the interim, I found on two different occasions, small chunks of black rubber. Now what?? I searched inside the dishwasher but couldnt find anything...until yesterday. Now I realize its part of the cowling that feeds water inside the tub. Unfortunately in order to see exactly whats going on with it, I have to figure out how to remove the lower water arm. And because this cowling has become unstable, its blocking the arm from turning freely. So now I have a lower armature that is half-way turning and binging and bonging and dishes that are being poorly washed. COLOR ME DONE! DO NO BUY THIS BRAND DISHWASHER!! I paid over $1,000 and its falling apart after a year and a half. LG brags that the motor has a ten year warranty. That is little value when the rest of the machine is falling apart before a year is even over!
I purchased LG Appliance. It was the biggest mistake. Within months I started having problems with fridge and Stove, the dishwasher stopped working less than 1 year after I purchase, I did not follow up right away, when I called they told me the warranty is only for 1 year that I would have to pay for the technician and if the part is warranted they will send to technician. I told them I would rather toss their awful product and buy a GE. I will never buy LG again. They are substandard. Not worth the high price they charge. I usually buy GE but decided to try LG because I like the features of their fridge. They look good but they are not good. BUY GE (General Electric) instead. They last for years and is a much better quality. Buyer beware. LG appliance sucks!!! They dont even deserve a star but I have to check 1.
I purchased a home with LG appliances already installed (They were nearly new.). The fridge is a LRSC26923TT model. The plastic water supply lines on the back of the unit split and sprayed the wall behind the fridge, damaging the drywall on both sides of the wall. LG stated that since I was not the original owner, their warranty would not cover it. I have 2 other LG appliances in this kitchen, and I have had problems with those as well. No assistance. Their customer service department is deplorable. They are arrogant and condescending. I will never buy another LG product. I am on a mission to warn everyone I can.
It has met my expectations. The price was decent. I really liked the look of the fridge inside and out. The size of the refrigerator was just what I needed at the time. I like the stainless steel exterior of the unit. I like the available space inside. It is quiet when it operates. It is easy to clean an looks great in my kitchen. The only negative comment I would have is that the temperature seems to fluctuate a little bit sometimes. Sometimes the food in the freezer is rock hard and some times a little soft esp. The ice cream.
The fridge was only 8-month-old when the dispenser stopped working and the ice maker started making noise. Initial call to LG was okay. Then the headache began. It took them 5 weeks to get someone to replace the part and every time I called, I got someone from India (clearly with an accent). Then no supervisor. Horrible service. First LG appliance I bought and the last for sure.
My wife purchased the top of the line LG French door at Lowes in Griffin, Ga 7-27-14 (over $3000!). On 8-13, unit made strange humming sound and 8-14, freezer quit (suspect frig also but we kept door closed). Called LG 7pm 8-14 and the advisor had me go thru a bunch of steps (it was quite obvious he was reading the steps and had no clue what he was advising). He asked had we reset?? anything or made any adjustments to the temp...I wouldnt even know HOW? He had me unplug, then reset temp to -6 and then place a cup of water in the freezer and call him back in 3 hours. The whole time humming/unusual sounds still there. I called back at 11pm EST as instructed, and cup of water still just a cup of water, did not freeze. He then told me we were out of their normal service area??? and it will take 2-3 days for a technician to arrive! Seriously! Hello, this is the year 2014, not 1934. I then got upset. I called Lowes the next morning at 6am. They brought a loaner frig and placed on our front porch. As soon as it was unloaded, the LG mysteriously started working and the sound went away. I am calling Lowes this morning for a full refund. I am not going to get involved with this mystery problem going back and forth. LG customer service, horrible, I AM OUT and will never purchase any LG product. Please dont make the mistake we made, do your research first!! Shame on you Lowes for offering this frig as a top end! Do your research Lowes purchasing agents.
Gas knobs on my LG 30 freestanding gas convection range (model number LRG3097ST) have malfunctioned twice; each time, theyre causing gas leaks. When my husband called, we got 4 replacement knobs with the identical issue. The issue is the plastic inserts - they break and they continue to break. This is a known issue! In my humble opinion, there should have been a recall issued a while ago on this; and you dont have to be a NASA rocket scientist to figure that out. I looked at the complaints the customers have made against the LG line, and its been going strong since 2009. I am not sure what the Consumer Protection Board is waiting on. But Im hoping to at least use this venue to get the message out. The rest of the oven works wonderfully, but the gas leak from those knobs should be addressed, and if not by LG, at least by our own Consumer Protection Board.
Bought an over 1200.00 new stainless steel refrigerator on the weekend of July 4th 2019 from Lowes. Today is October 9th 2019. Problem started 10/5/2019. This is 3 months old!! Model LDCS24223S/01. Serial number 904 MRUY 07478. The refrigerator cooling totally quit. It reads 66 in the top while being set at 33. Smart services was useless. Spoke with 3 representative who promised I would be called promptly with a service date. Was texted a link regarding service that led to page unavailable All of our food was ruined. I am an older disabled woman who depends on the refrigerator to keep medicines. I need the help of others to obtain ice for a cooler. My partner works out of town. Case number **.
I like many how have already posted immeasurable frustration with their LG Washer. My washer does the error code and runs forever like many other customers. I have not contacted LG yet, but it is clear that I will never buy another LG product. It is sad to spend this much money on a product that causes so many consumers frustration. Just for fun I now time how long it takes to wash a load of clothes, not to mention how much water is used.
Purchased LG clothes washer, from Home Depot. Washer performance was terrible since Day 1. Washed clothes was dirty, smelly, machine noisy, and expensive. American manufacturer may have been better, than Korean man.
A few months ago I purchased an LG dryer model DLE1101W with automatic sensors. However, every time I start a sensing cycle it stops after few minutes. I use mainly small loads. When I called the company they said it is because in small loads the sensor is not being able to detect and therefore shuts down the cycle. When I purchased the unit nowhere did it say that the sensing happens only when using big loads or else I would not have paid more for unit with sensing capability.
Bought refrigerator three years back and I think called engineers number of times. Last three months I think every 15 days, still not working. But they send Engineers VERY PROMPTLY.
Purchased refrigerator end of April 2015, paid 2900 and expected it not to break in less than 5 months. It has been 3 weeks without refrigerator - I lost $3000 in medicine and approx 500 in food. LG covers nothing towards any loss nor do they care. I received my next batch of Enbrel today and today a value of 12000 and have to take it to my daughters house 20 miles away - I have no way of keeping it safe. Lg has been unresponsive and will not return a phone call. At this time service is scheduled for Monday. Hopefully they ordered right parts as no one came out to even look at it.
Like everyone else - initially I loved this unit. Its still a good looking one with amazing features - if they actually work. But when you have a sudden and complete failure of your unit it changes your opinion. And when LG customer service and their third party service centres do not treat it with any sense of urgency or allow you the courtesy of a call back then you feel bad!My stainless steel french door unit hums and lights up, but cools nothing, with no air blowing. I had to throw out over $300 worth of food and weve been without a unit for 5 days now! I am currently trying to resolve this issue with the customer service at LG Canada. Thankfully its still under warranty, plus I bought an extended warranty from the BRICK which would cover me for up to 5 more years of parts and labour or a replacement! LG sent a third party service guy who did not show up, after blocking out my whole day, which forced me to take the whole day off work losing a whole days wages as a result!! LG was unsympathetic with canned responses, and did not care much! Huge disrespect for me and my time and family! After spending over $3500 on a fridge you expect better service! In fact one of the girls at customer service had the nerve to tell me I could be charged for the service if my complaint about the unit was false! Imagine that! My advice dont buy any expensive LG refrigerator. Heck! Keep away from LG all together! Its easier to deal with a $500 unit than deal with this nonsense on a high end unit!
I bought a high-end LG French door refrigerator from Home Depot. Six months later, the fridge failed to keep the set temperature, becoming too warm to keep food in either the refrigerator or freezer. The LG customer service department scheduled a repairman for week later. They then called and pushed it out another week! Two weeks without a refrigerator, living out of a cooler. Ive placed numerous calls to their customer service department and they are unwilling to repair the fridge in a timely manner. Despicable, shameful, customer service! I will not be buying LG again. Beware.
Our LG is a beautiful-looking appliance and for 2 years I enjoyed most everything except for the water leaking out of the bottom on to my maple floor. I called several times just to speak to someone who said I would have to call an authorized service tech (only they are located 100+ miles away and want a lot of money to come to see if it can be fixed). The ice would build up on the freezer floor, so every week I would remove everything from the freezer, remove the ice, and then the next week do it all over again. Then 3 weeks ago the refrigerator portion just quit cooling. (It will get to 58 degrees and that is it.) Now I put all my perishables in my 20 year old Frigidaire. Nobody wants to come fix the LG and customer service needs a lot of training on being customer service.I also have an LG phone for 1 month -- JUNK. I just want to say when I go buy another refrigerator it wont be LG and I will do a lot of research before I give any of my hard-earned money to another company. By the way, I did not get an extended warranty because my other refrigerator is 20 years old and still works great! Should have not gotten a new one. If I worked or owned LG I would hide my face. This is the second complaint I have written on this product.
Machine purchased at Home Depot in 2011. Year 3 rust appeared where around the bleach dispenser. If you get the one year service plan be careful as when your machine hits 5 years, no more service! Do not buy! Stick with Kenmore!!! If I could travel all 50 states and warn people about this crappy machine I would... Horrible customer service. They also do not come out to repair right away, you have to do various checks on the washer for them to actually come out. They want to know whats wrong or what did you do? What was wrong was I tried to wash a load of laundry and the machine did not work! I will never again buy LG!
We bought a front load washing machine (LG) 2 years ago. I have written customer service to remedy the problem weve had (the SMELL), but they didnt tell me anything that I hadnt already tried. Every time I would do a load of laundry, my entire hallway would stink like rotten eggs. We finally discovered that there was a hose at the bottom of the unit, and learned we were supposed to drain it from time to time. Actually, I have to drain it EVERY TIME! Every time I empty the water from the hose (about 4 cups of water), it stinks like sulfur or eggs. If I dont drain it, that water just goes onto my next load of laundry that Im washing. Im so frustrated & want to give this thing back!!! Im tired of my laundry smelling bad when I use fabric softener AND dryer sheets!!!
In April 2015 I purchased an LG refrigerator model # LF S29766S from Bestbuy in Garden City, New York. On June 22, 2018 I noticed that everything in freezer was defrosted. Problem was reported to LG who referred me to Bestbuy who I had purchased 5 years warranty with. After waiting for nearly one week, serviceman assessed refrigerator and indicated that a new compressor was needed. After speaking to various people, I learned that there have been problems with LG refrigerators. If so many people are having problems, LG refrigerators should be banned.
On 7-20-2010, I purchased an LG french door refrigerator, model LFX28978ST from Best Buy for $2,168. On May 26, 2014, I reported the failure of the unit to LG. I had an LG authorized service technician diagnose the unit, and he determined that the compressor has definitely failed, and that very likely, the entire sealed system had failed as well. He, while still in my home contacted LG and conveyed the information, but they stated they would seek replacement only of the compressor to be certain. After two days, I called the service organization again to determine when the repair would be authorized and made. They noted that no authorization had been received from LG and that I would be responsible for the full cost. Thereafter, I contacted LG and requested a service authorization. It was noted that one would be provided. Approximately two days later, I re-contacted the service organization regarding the repair. They stated that LG would not allow them to seek the part from their normal parts distributor, and that it must come directly from the company. They additionally stated that they had ordered the part from the company. When I requested the shipping and estimated delivery date, the service organization stated that LG never releases that information to the service organization. As a consequence, I re-contacted LG and requested the same information. The LG representative noted at that point that the part had been ordered, was in stock, yet had not been released for shipment. The representative added that they would seek to determine its release date and return my call. They did not. I contacted LG again to inquire of the part shipping date, and was told that since so much time had elapsed, I was being transferred to the defective returns area for resolution. Once within defective returns, I was provided a non-negotiable buy back of the unit at an LG depreciated price which amounted 67.6% of the purchase price, an amount which approximates to straight line depreciation for the period the unit was owned. Inquiring as to options, the defective returns area noted the only options were to take their offer, or wait for repair. I additionally inquired as to when the part would be shipped to effect the repair, and could not be given a time frame. Even when feeling forced into an untenable offer, the LG defective returns representative was able to add injury to insult, stating it would be 2 to 3 weeks before I would receive the check representing the buy-back. The approach LG has taken in my instance has the appearance of purposefully failing to comply with the repair terms of their warranty in an effort to compel consumers to accept a non-negotiable defective product buy-back offer. In my instance, I conceded under the duress of needing to replace my refrigerator. I will, however never purchase another product manufactured by LG under any nameplate (Sears, please take note).
Bought LG washer & dryer a little over 2 years ago at Lowes. The washer just failed. Hundreds of dollars for new electronics board / labor. I wrote polite complaint email to customer service. Got a prompt reply leading off with the phrase “Life is Good. Then, a poorly constructed email telling me off. Rude. No question about what failed, how it failures, where I bought it, how I could get it fixed, how often I used the washer (very little--btw). NADA! If you luck out your LG product will not fail! If something goes wrong, you now own the new LG product line An LG Boat Anchor. Life is good! Dont trust this company! OK, OK, if you like masochism LG is your company! Enjoy!
I bought this dishwasher in January 2015 and it has been a nightmare since I have had it. While under warranty LG had 5 different people out to fix it. I have not been able to use this dishwasher more than able to use it. I paid approximately $800.00 for this dishwasher and the one I had when I lived at an apartment was 100x better than this. Didnt clean well... ALWAYS problems with it. LG would not replace, kept fixing issues with it. I had to have the motor replaced, door replaced, dish soap dispenser replaced 2x, steam vent replaced, hoses replaced, seals replaced and it has been a lemon since day one. Again, last night after having yet another repairman out and only repaired about a couple of weeks ago, it breaks again and wont even come on. Seriously, what a piece of junk. Will never purchase another LG product again. Went out this morning and purchased another dishwasher. The LG is now out of warranty. Oh, and also one of the repairman told me that LG should just replace it and guess what, never heard from that repairman again. They said his work was not up to par... Really LG, I think youre not up to par!!!
Purchased 11/2014. I had three repair calls with one replacing a motor. Energy efficient, its not. More money spent on detergents, water electricity and the guilt of wearing half clean clothes to my satisfaction. Looking for new washer.
We purchase this Kenmore Elite 29002 top loading washing machine in 2012. After about 4 loads of normal, not grimy laundry, it began smelling very musty. (*We are very eat clean folks...no children in the house, etc). Called Sears, they sent out repair person twice; they looked at the drain mechanism, messed with the computerized controls and made all cycles longer; suggested we clean the washer every week with purchased $$ tablets.. So now the machine that was to save money by saving water (High efficiency)... Would now cost out to $ $15/month for cleaning tablets!! They should take it back and replace it with a better model!
The inside drum of the washing machine starts hitting the body of the machine when rotating at high speed. The noise created is like very horrible. Also the customer care doesnt register the complaint. They provide useless solutions. Neither do they send any technician.
There were not any special features that were included in my LGg refrigerator. It was a regular old fridge that came with my apartment. And it would have been nice if it was a newer model. I would have liked it better if it had made ice better than it did because it took forever to freeze anything.
I love My LG electric single oven slide in range with probake convection. It is so easy to use and cleaning it isn’t a hassle like some ovens can be. My last oven never wanted to come clean. I also like that it has gliding racks and the infrared grilling system. You won’t be disappointed!!!
LG washer/dryer combo - DONT buy one! Enormous vibration, the house shakes. Close to 2 hours to wash & dry ONE bed sheet. Sheet emerges WET (not just damp) and needs thorough drying in the 20 yr. old reliable Kenmore basement dryer. LG = What a mistake!
This refrigerator model GC-L207BLQV came as part of came as part of the appliance package provided by the builder of our house. We were never given a manual or receipt. When we moved in we found the water feed to the ice maker was not connected which I managed to figure out and correct. We have now had the fridge 11 months and the freezer ices up and the fridge part doesnt cool. The display on the door indicates Er dH , without the manual I have no idea what this means. We live in Panama a long way from towns. We called in a local tech to repair or diagnose. However he spoke no English whatsoever and we know very little Spanish. He defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer charged $45. The freezer continues to ice up and the fridge side gets warm with subsequent food spoilage. Contacting LG is a waste of time as they are not interested in servicing Panama. Ive found out from researching that the defrost timer is stuck or malfunctioning. I have no idea where this item is located or how to get at it without a servicing manual. The warranty is not worth the paper its printed on so Im prepared to do the work myself or pay to have it done. LG no thanks.
Purchased LG dishwasher about 15 months ago. After installation, we noticed a burning odor when it was on the drying cycle. We assumed it was just the new smell that would soon go away. It never did. After about nine months, we noticed an error code (hE) and that the dishes werent drying well. Called LG and got a local repair company to come out. They replaced the motor assembly, but the code was still there. Had the repair person out again and they replaced the circuit/control board. Nada. Called again, just days before our one-year warranty had expired and they came out to replace the motor once again and this time it worked. No odor.About a month or two into the new motor, we noticed the burning smell again. This morning, the (hE) error code was back. Im not expecting much response from LG after reading the other posts listed here. Fortunately, I purchased a 4-year extended warranty from Home Depot, so guess Ill have to start wrestling with them! I wish I had looked here before I made my purchase. Just to be fair, we bought a new LG washer and dryer at the same time and have been quite pleased with its performance.
My new LG refrigerator has been running for 8-plus weeks. I have had 5 separate appliance repairs on the unit. The ice-maker leaks water on front of the refrigerator and then onto the floor. LG does not know how to fix the issue. Customer service has been really bad. hhgregg has no authority to help. Poor service.
