To my dismay, I learned that LG only had a warranty of 90 days. I cant believe that you can pay $1,100 for a washing machine and they only guarantee it for 90 days. Guess they know what I didnt. It is a lousy machine and they already know that it wont last much longer than that. Save your money - any machine out there has to be better and cost a lot less. Also most machines are guaranteed for at least 6 months, and most for 1 year. I will NEVER buy another LG product.

After being told that this washer was the most top-rated, we decided to make the move to this HE machine to save water. It has the clear top, so we were suspicious from the start with the minimal activity and agitation seen with the impeller system versus our old machine, plus it appeared that some clothes werent even getting wet! But the information we had read told us that all of this was normal. We were shocked at the 1:47 hours to complete a load, but again, we were able to wash twice as much in one load. BUT, a load of heavily soiled Levis from gardening, which would have been no problem with our old machine, came out filthy, even using the Heavy-duty cycle with extra water! TWICE!! This really is not acceptable, but we dont have a lot of faith in trying any other HE machine now either. We are reading bad reviews on pretty much all of them!

LG will not stand behind their product. I purchased this $1,595.81 refrigerator with an extended warranty 5 years ago. In all fairness the warranty expired 4 months ago but I found out from the repair man that this was a bad model that is no longer made by LG. There is a leak in the Sealed System which is built into the chassis. LG designed a poor product. I asked for some type (any type) of a credit toward a new refrigerator. Ive never had a refrigerator (with repairs) that lasted less than 20 years. A product that last 5 years is unacceptable. Especially if was due to poor design on LGs part. I currently also have an LG Microwave, Dishwasher. Bottom line is due to poor service they have lost a customer for life.

Model: LFX28978SW, 3 French Door refrigerator. Less than 10 years old. - 1st month: Plastic guide piece in ice dispenser chute broke off... Ended up mixed in with crushed ice. - 2 years: Mullion spring--a stainless steel spring--broke. - 4 years: Had to replace water valve assembly. - 9 years: 2 mullion spring broke... again... Lucky I bought 2 springs when 1st broke. I could see that it was a weak part and would likely break again. - General: Door seal around mullion torn, both sides. I certainly wont be buying any LG product after this experience. Ive had 3 other reefers; 2 have lasted 2+ decades and one, a KitchenAid, lasted 30 years.

Bar none, THE worst dishwasher (dishwasher is an oxymoron) we have ever had. Worse even than the defunct one we replaced. I rinse all dishes but when I unload it I sometimes wonder if water touched anything. Also the soap is dried on the interior door, hello! Does it even rinse the door off? I gave it one star because it is indeed quiet but I have resorted to washing dishes mostly by hand now if I want them all to be reliably cleaned.

We got a Front Loader washing machine and dryer from LG in May 2017. Since day one I saw that my cloth are not clean. I tried bulky, heavy and extra water, but my cloth are only partially wet. LG claimed that I dont know how to wash since it is an high efficiency machine. I had Front loading machines since 20 years. A technician came out and mentioned that he hears that a lot and we should add water. LG drags it out.

Within a month of moving into a house that had brand new LG appliances the oven stopped heating properly. We called LG and paid a fixed rate for them to fix the problem. They replaced something in it and it wasnt even two weeks later when the same issue happened again. Shortly after that the LG dryer stopped producing heat. We had an independent repair person come out and $400 later he had replaced the heating element. Apparently LG appliances are very difficult to repair and time consuming to access. We will NEVER buy another LG product. Totally a waste of money!

We bought a gas LG range in November 2017, we got the matching refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and range after we bought a new house. We did not start using it until February 2018 when we moved into the house. Since that time the oven would periodically say it was at temperature but when you open the oven to put in whatever you were cooking you could tell that it was not up to temperature. At first it was sporadic and I thought at first I was doing something wrong. Then it was every time that you would try to use the oven it would not stay up to temperature. Called and got a repair person to come out, under warranty, and we were told the ignitor was bad and it was replaced. It was less than a month later that it was doing the same thing. The repair person came out again, said again it was an ignitor issue. Ignitor was replaced again. (This time it was not within the warranty period.) Its been a couple months since the ignitor was replaced for the 2nd time and it is doing it again. I will never buy another LG appliance again. When you own an oven you expect that you can use it. Just thankful that the neighbor doesnt mind me using their oven to cook my meals.

I have bought this LG Intello 6.5 Kg washing machine (Product T7066MN) in 2009 for Rs 12,000, and it is just out of warranty, and it has stopped working. I reported this to customer care on 1/9/2012, and the engineer reported a major repair worth Rs 4,000. My concern is the machine is just out of warranty and has such major parts under repair. Is this the quality of LG products? My previous machines I bought had minimum life before coming to repair (6 years). What is the guarantee that if I spend Rs 4,000 now, which is 1/3 the original cost, it will solve all of the problems? I would not recommend LG products to anyone. They just have good looks and no quality.

Updated on 06/25/2020: I posted here on June 6 about my less than 2 year old LG French door refrigerator compressor failure. LG responded that they would resolve the issue with me. After much back and forth, they did not send me the promised email for resolution. I hope that by posting this, someone will respond and help me resolve my issue.Original Review: Bought this fancy LG in May 2018 for 2500.00 from Lowe’s. In March 2020 compressor goes out. I am still waiting for the compressor to arrive and today is June 6. I am on my fourth month with no refrigerator. Do not buy an LG refrigerator. I wish I never did!

I bought the double oven stove and unfortunately I did not use the stove until 9 months after the purchase. The stove is awful. It will burn you if you try to even come near the back of the stove top. It is very hard to clean, and that means the entire unit. The knobs are actually paper/tin which cracks and peels after just a little wear. The oven has never baked right. It burns everything on the bottom. Nothing I did corrected any of the problems.I have told everyone I know not to purchase this brand of stove, and will continue to tell the public about this lemon. To produce something so inferior and sell it to the public just shows that this company has no regard for customers and will sell junk. For me it was way too late to send this piece of junk back as by the time I used it warranty had passed. I tried to call this company and was told there was nothing they could do. They did not even try to listen or help me in any way. Its too bad because I work with broadcasting/media and I have prevented many people from making the same mistake, and will continue to do so. PLEASE do not spend your hard earned money. You will be sorry.

The machine itself stinks and It is so bad I have to use air fresheners in my laundry room. I tried the tub cleaning liquid (whoever thought you would have to clean a washing machine!) and bleach several times and only on the day I do this does it not smell. By the next day the smell is back! Dont buy this washing machine! I am so sorry I purchased it and I am ready to bust it up with a hammer so I can get a new one (never LG again!). Paid a lot of money for it too!

LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice.
LG Black Stainless Model #LFXC24726D - I have had my doors replaced twice. Last week the tech David ** here in Northern California came out to replace the freezer and one refrigerator door. When he replaced the freezer door he chipped the plastic on the freezer prying the old paint skin off. Then he scratched the new skin by the handle in the corner. It looks like the new skin that was replaced on the freezer doesnt fit this model because now all that you can see where the handles are is the white plastic. I called within 15 minutes of David leaving to complain about the chipped plastic. He came back to the house, took pictures and sent it on to customer service in Alabama to Jessica the Executive Supervisor. The following day I got an email saying they would be out on 10/18/18 between 8-12. Of course on 10/18/18 around 10:45 I get a call from Jessica the Executive Supervisor saying that they would not be fixing the chip that the tech made and that the case was closed and they would not be coming out anymore. I asked if they had reviewed my two email dated 10/21/18 on the other two issues. She said no and that I would get a call from her within 24-48 hours. Of course no call so I called on 10/22/18 and Jessica was not available so I spoke to Bill Executive Service Supervisor and told that I would have to pay for the new freezer door and service call on something that the tech David ** messed up. My only recourse is to appeal to the Office of the President (no phone number to speak to anyone in that office). At this point I will be complaining to the Bureau of Consumer Protection, Better Business Bureau and looking to see if there is a Class Action Lawsuit going on.

I purchased an expensive LG French door refrigerator. The compressor is guaranteed for 10 years and in just 3 years it has gone out. No authorized repair person in our area so the repair person started the lengthy process of getting authorization to repair my refrigerator and have a compressor sent to him. After more than a week, LG said there was a typo on the authorization and it needed to be started again. Another 3 days and he received an email. He attempts to order the part after waiting on hold for more than 40 minutes. The part is on back order. Refused to say for how long but when I called the parts department myself they said it was at least a month before they even get them in stock to start filling orders. The executive department now says it all starts from the date the order was placed so it is too soon to do anything further. Refuse to put in writing the date the part is expected. They say they arent required to do so. LG has made an inferior compressor, many, many going out, and then have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never had a bigger runaround in all my life. In the meantime, I have no refrigerator, just a huge expensive piece of something in my kitchen.

I had the refrigerator for approximately without any problems. Style, price and capacity were the primary reasons I chose this particular refrigerator brand. In addition, the refrigerator was an appropriate items for the decor theme in the kitchen. Accessible water and ice from the door of the refrigerator, ample storage space for items placed in the refrigerator, blending of the refrigerator with the kitchen decor, ease of cleaning the inside and exterior surfaces and the quietness in the operation of the mechanical parts represent features I liked about the refrigerator. Shortly thereafter, issues developed with the ice maker that included water dripping from the ice container into the dispensing tray that eventually caused severe damage to the wood floor. In addition, maintaining an appropriate cooling temperature fluctuated, requiring a service technician attention.

Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. I bought an LG top loading washing machine with direct drive a couple of years back. Perhaps a year later, I began to regularly get UE error messages (uneven load) which would stop the cycle. I would have to open the door, try to redistribute the wet laundry and then restart the cycle. Sometimes multiple times for 1 load. It would often TAKE LITERALLY 3-5 HOURS to do a single load of laundry!!! Sometimes, the machine will try to correct the idiotic error by automatically refilling the tub with water... I guess in an effort to redistribute the load. This never works. The machine has gotten progressively worse with this UE issue to the point that now it stops on 80-90% of the cycles! I often end up having to stand by the machine during the spin cycle until it either stops and gives the error message or begins to refill the tub, then I have to turn off the machine and put the soaking wet clothes into the dryer. As I write this, it is 11 pm and I just put a soaking wet load of laundry that started at 630 pm into the dryer. It doesnt matter if I put in a tiny load or a big load. It doesnt matter if I adjust the spin speed to low or medium. It still gives the UE error on most of the loads. Whats more, the machine has a spin only option - one might think that this means spin only. Nope. Ive tried selecting that option to empty the tub after several UE errors, but it will inevitably start filling with water again. How spin only turns into filling the tub with water is beyond me. Absolutely ridiculous. This machine is supposed to be energy efficient, but It Wastes energy by running and re-running for hours on end, WASTES WATER BY SENSELESSLY REFILLING FOR NO REASON AND WASTES ITS OWNERS VALUABLE TIME. WASTE OF MONEY! Do NOT buy LG Top load washer!!!

Sealed system on 18 month old LG refrigerator (LFXS30766D-01) failed. It was under warranty, but LG has been unable to find anyone in our area to service our refrigerator. It has been over 3 weeks now. They have passed the buck to someone else to try to find someone to service it. Nothing has been done. I have spent hours on the phone trying to find someone to fix it. One LG approved company came to diagnose the issue, charging $100 and stating they were unable to fix the problem and good luck finding someone - no-one around here wants to work on these refrigerators. LG is NOT standing behind their warranty and is not fixing nor reimbursing for their failed product.

We bought a LG gas conventional oven (model or serial # LG LRG3095ST) from Frys on March 13 2015. We did not open the box until today march 27 2015 and found that the door of the oven got one hinge loose... that mean the door is only connected to stove by one hinge and the other side is hanging when open. And there is a big dent on the stove... We rushed back to Frys in the city of industry to exchange it or return it... but we were told they wont accept our return or exchange. The return department at frys gave us the number 1800 243 0000 to contact LG to settle the problem... so we called LG and the LG operator told us that there is nothing they can do. I felt like it is not fair to us. We paid for a brand new oven and got a defective one and no one seemed to be willing take a responsibility for that. We are stuck with a defective stove. The service was very bad. We were actually told by the manager step out of my store, the exit is that way! twice. We would like them to exchange the oven or refund my money.. Thank you very much for your kind help.

Wow! Before I bought the LG Model WT5101HW in Aug. 2010, I could not find bad reviews on this washing machine. I wish Id investigated further. It is just as noted in other reviews; not enough water in most cycles, not energy efficient (1:09 hr. cycle will take up to 1:55 hr.), water levels will sometimes leave clothes dry and still dirty. Machine has been recalled and fixed by service representative (which took three trips), constantly going UE and adding water, etc. There is no way to shorten a cycle except rinse and spin or spin only. I found the only thing that works reasonably well for cleaning is the Bulky/Bedding cycle. This seems to load the water based on level rather than the weight method. But it always fills it full, so I make sure the loads warrant the extra water used. I am considering biting the bullet on a different washing machine when the extended warranty expires in about ten months. I will NEVER purchase another LG product. Worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

After 4 service calls, replacing the sump motor and the main board, it still does not clean the dishes. Now when you look for reviews on both my products, it appears that everyone is having the same problems with the middle burner not lighting and the ice maker freezing up. It seems as though LG has discontinued both products; probably because they not good appliances. Read reviews every thirty days and make sure you get everything and anything fixed if you purchase this product again, because they will not help after that. I purchased this LG refrigerator (LFX25973ST/02). Serial number ** in July 2013 after my old refrigerator went down. My first time having a compression issue was in June 2017 days before my oldest daughter high school graduation, the compressor went down. A compressor was ordered and came within 1-2 days. Now a year and half later, on April 6 of 2019, the compressor goes again. My youngest daughter is due to graduate in June of 2019. I called my extended warranty and set an appointment for a technician to come out on Tuesday morning, April 9 from 8-12 pm. Get a call back to from the company that deals with LG products that they would need to reschedule my appointment because they would need to order a compressor. I was told it could come 1-2 business days or 2-5 business days. Well today is April 14 and still no refrigerator/compressor. No calls to reschedule a technician visit, nothing. I called my extended warranty company which I purchase with Lowe’s in Philadelphia. A supervisor was suppose to call me back because I wanted to know what was the hold up and never did. They were to expedite the part, never happened. I also called LG company and no help as well. I would never purchase a LG refrigerator again in my life. I am letting family and friends know not to purchase either. In the mean time before the compressor went I had the ice maker fixed about 3 times. Do not purchase this refrigerator!!!

Not heating or cooling on a 3.5 year old $3,000 refrigerator. I bought the now discontinued LG LFXS29766S refrigerator in August of 2015. It looks like new and has had no problems until last week on a Tuesday when I realized it had stopped cooling and making ice. I called the store I purchased from and was told that I had luckily bought a 60 month extended warranty, but I had to call them to get service. I called and the first time they could get to me was going to be Friday, then the following Tuesday! After speaking with their service person she said that in experience because of the model, a sealed system would have to be ordered and once it arrived they could schedule an appointment. With the caveat that LG can take 3-7 days to even ship the system. So I could most likely be without a refrigerator for 2-3 weeks...WHAT???I really cannot believe that after paying that price for a top of the line fridge that one has to wait 2-3 weeks and in calling local repairmen- NO-one stocks these parts and many do not want to even work on LG. I am hoping that my parts arrive this week and that hopefully it works, reading other reviews for the same problem I am not feeling like I will ever buy an LG product again. My last question to all 5 of the repairmen I called was what they would buy, that lasted the longest, can be fixed and repaired in a timely manner. Their answers were Frigidaire, Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid. Hopefully this system will last at least another 4-5 years and then I will be buying one of those brands. To top it off I suspect this was a lemon design from the beginning as it has been discontinued. Sigh.

Our fridge failed completely after just over a year. While LGs customer service has been polite and pleasant, they have done nothing to help. We are now without a working fridge for a week so far, with no end in sight. Weve already had one no-show repair appointment, followed by me calling twice a day for the remainder of the week. Despite an escalation to a manager, I still received nothing but empty promises. I finally convinced a customer service rep to just give me the contact info for the authorized technician and guess what - it will be almost another week before they can get out.Further escalation to the Executive Service team has been no better, with them finding a closer-in appointment and then having it disappear from the system seconds later. I am now waiting for a call back, in which I fully expect to be told sorry very nicely and expect nothing to be done. I would like a refund at this point, Ill take my $3000 and buy a better made fridge from someone else.

Updated on 11/08/2019: Have had an ongoing problem with a compressor on an LG refrigerator that is 5 years old and no it out. When the service tech came out on 10/24, the unit was eligible to be fixed free of charge, (which they told me would cost hundreds of dollars). When I complained to LG via ConsumerAffairs, they posted this response on 11/07. When I called them today to inquire about getting it fixed free, they said that now that is was November, we no longer qualified since it was now more than 5 years old, (by 7 days since it was manufactured in October of 2014). Why would they tell me this and then recant it? See screenshot below.... Beware of LG Refrigerators and LG in total, I have two of these refrigerators and their TVs.Original Review: The compressor on our LG refrigerator went out after just 5 years, although its under warranty, it doesnt cover Labor which turn out is several hundred dollars. In addition, it takes weeks to get the parts, not fun when your fridge is down for several weeks. I have two LG refrigerators that we spent more than $2,000 for each....terrible investment. Beware of LG refrigerators.

It met all my standard and recommend to everyone. The price was reasonable too. The color and style I loved and was exactly what I was looking for. I will always buy an LG fridge and tell everyone about it. I loved the ice maker and there was so much room for me to store all my groceries. Very clean and open. Loved the space on the doors and had enough room for all the condiments. The shelves were perfectly spaced and had enough room. There is nothing really that I did not like about it. It was exactly what I was looking for and the price range was perfect.

Its always a name that is mentioned while searching for equipment. The look and the space it left us once installation. We love our new LG refrigerator! Weve had it for a couple of weeks and are beyond pleased. We love the all of the space and especially having two ice makers. But LG is the currently the poorest product on the market. Stay away! I bought my LG just 2 yrs old, gone thru 3 compressor failures, 4 loads of groceries tossed out and zero care from outsourced customer service team.

We have a model lfxs29766s French door fridge. The linear compressor just broke after only fours years. Apparently LG is very aware of this and their solution is to charge you $350 for a new compressor. Tech that came to the house says he replaces 4-5 of these compressors a day. Incorporate that additional cost into your evaluation because I think you can get a better fridge for that additional money....and it will happen to you.

We purchased a refrigerator LFX31925SW, which I thought was top of the line. 2 months shy of 3 years, the compressor went out. Of course it was out of warranty. I did call LG tech support/customer service and they gave me the phone number of an LG authorized repair company. I called, they had retired, gone out of business. I called LG back, numerous times, I even used the chat online, I was told the same thing each time, it had to be an LG repairman. We live in a small town, kind of rural, I explained to them (over and over) that I had tried for 2 weeks to find someone to come and check our refrigerator, they kept insisting that they have LG repairmen all over the country. Someone would get back to us. Well, 2 weeks after that I received a message on my phone that they would go ahead and approve the one company I was able to get a hold of to replace the compressor (the compressor has a 10-year warranty). When I spoke to the repair company they had spoken with someone at LG, but LG had not faxed the authorization. I have called LG numerous times and get a different response every time. We have now been without our refrigerator a month now. We paid 2500.00 for this fridge from Home Depot 2 and a half years ago, you would think it would last or that LG would honor their commitment. I do not see us buying LG ever again in the future.

I bought this machine 3/10/2014. It has NEVER washed a load in less than 70 minutes. When I called a repairman he said, You use well water. Use WARM WATER, which I do. He recommended a special detergent as well as a special washing machine cleaner, WHICH I tried with no improvement. If the machine is SUPPOSED to wash a load in 35 MINUTES, I EXPECT it to take APPROXIMATELY 35 minutes. If this machine hadnt been so expensive to buy, I would have it hauled to the dump.

It does not matter if the oven is on convection or just nonconvection mode. The same noise still exists. We live in Saint John New Brunswick. I called a few appliance companies to service the oven. I was told, we do not service LG ovens.I went to the facility that sold me the oven and asked if they knew of a service representative. I learned from the store that sold the appliance, there is no one in the area that services these LG products!! We called the LG 1-888-542-2623 number just to be told that there is no one in the area that services these! Buyer beware-dont purchase LG products!! They cant service what they sell! I ignored the reviews that said the front load washer leaks. LG will not cover the leaking door in the WARRANTY. It’s a handsome machine, looks great, washes well - but have a rag, sponge, or mop handy because the DOOR LEAKS. MY WASHER IS 6 months old. We have done around 8 loads of wash. We are a couple with no children yet, so we dry clean most of our clothing and have little to wash. The first time it leaked I thought it was a fluke. The second time I ignored it. This machine is pricey and for the money, you should get a PERFECT MACHINE! I am warning people to read reviews then ask a few sales people if the door leaks and they will tell you, YES IT LEAKS. IF THEY SAY IT DOESNT, GET IT IN WRITING! Until LG deals with this problem, they shouldnt be allowed to sell this washer. The puddle gets bigger with each load. I wonder when the floor will be covered with water. We clean the door, the rubber gasket and dont pack clothes into it. Our other front load washer by a different manufacturer does not leak and we have had that pair at our summer house for eight years with no problems. Dont waste $1000 Dollars on a machine that leaks because Home Depot and LG will not help you. LIFE’S GOOD WHEN YOU PAY FOR SOMETHING AND IT WORKS!

We bought a LG washer and dryer on Nov 2013. The dryer broke in August 2014. We are dealing with the Factory Warranty thru LG that is managed by GEEK SQUAD that is associated with Best Buy. Unfortunately the Geek Squad is the worse Service Company to deal with. Up to now Oct 23 we had 2 technician coming to the house and 1 appointment which nobody showed up, and my problem has Not been solved! They promise me by phone to have the parts ordered 2 weeks ago and installed tomorrow Oct 24. Yesterday we received an e-mail saying that they can Not come again and postponed the visit to Oct 31. Redid my kitchen and went to BrandsMart and bought a complete LG kitchen package, Worst quality product ever. After about 2 or 3 months the fan stops working so we call Brandsmart. Worst customer service ever. They should be ashamed, the guy came out and didnt even have the proper equipment with him to de-ice the fan. My husband had to loan him the equipment. P.S. it works for about 6 months then stops working again so we call Brandsmart again. The guy comes out and resets the refrigerator by unplugging it and plugging it back it, of course that didnt work.I call LG who sends out their own technician who said it was the motherboard. That gets replaced, only to work another 2 months. Now they are replacing the compressor and the two evaporators. I am out of manufacture warranty but LG is covering the labor cost but are giving me a hard time. I requested a new refrigerator and a refund and who knows if that is going to happen. This whole process has been like pulling teeth, I have also been without a refrigerator twice, for 3 weeks each time. They are also giving me a one time food loss credit. Dont know how much, but I think a class action lawsuit is in order, the anxiety and stress dealing with the stupid techs and the customer service is too much. I dont think I can do this a 5th time. The refrigerator is only one year old now.

We purchased an LG LDF7551ST dishwasher in June 2012 for $800. While under warranty, in June 2013, it stopped working (Error message E1) and needed service and parts replaced. In September 2013, the same issue occurred and the dishwasher needed to be serviced and similar parts replaced. This happened a third time this past Tuesday, July 15. This is obviously defective merchandise and LG refuses to replace the machine. They say that they are doing me a favor by extending the warranty on the parts being replaced. Some for the second and possibly now the third time.I have, to date, needed to take time off from work five times: once each for the appliance company to come to evaluate the problem and once for them to replace the parts. In addition, I have been on the phone with LG for numerous hours both on hold and trying to get some kind of resolution to this matter. The managers I spoke with both said they are at the highest level of decision making and refused to replace this machine. They told me I could write a letter to LG but it would come to them and nothing more would be done and I would not even get a response. I purchased a defective machine which should be replaced. I do not have the time nor patience to have to deal with this issue every few months.

My problem with this machine, is that Ive never seen a wash machine take so long to wash a load of clothes! If I use the Speedwash feature, which is supposed to be a 35-minute cycle, it will take nearly two hours to wash the clothes. Loads that I know should take longer, like extended soak cycles, stain removal cycles, extra rinse or extended spin cycles, extend the wash cycles into hours and hours. Im dissatisfied with this purchase and I have seen so many complaints that I know I wont get the matter resolved to my satisfaction. I remember when this company went under the brand of GoldStar. I didnt like the look of their appliances back then and they were known as cheap. They must have found a company to re-market and re-brand them, with great looking outside features, but the same crappy inside components.

As it turned out the heating element at the bottom of the freezer melted the plastic back panel on the inside. THEREIN is where all the torment has ensued!!!! They would have to ORDER the panel and as of Today August 11th, 2014 even after contacting LG directly, I still DO NOT have a panel or a fridge that works. IT CONTINUES TO BE ON BACK ORDER and LG did not know if they could help me unless I purchased the fridge from an AUTHORIZED DEALER, who cares where I purchased the fridge? I paid for it, it is THEIR product. If Im willing to pay to get the 65.00 part who cares where I purchased the fridge? LG has been of NO help whatsoever!!!!!! I cant believe it truly matters where an item is purchased. IT is their product and they should care about taking care of the customer... In the summer of 2009, my wife and I purchased a new kitchen with all new LG stainless steel appliances. Since then, we have had trouble with two of the four appliances. We soon discovered that the control knobs on the new LG LRG30357ST range were damaged due to poor design. The oversized stainless knobs were a selling point for us, as they had a nice, heavy duty, commercial look. But the plastic connecting pieces are cracked now and fit very loosely. Then after about a year and a half, the LG LMVM2085ST microwave stopped working after a short period of erratic performance. We were told on the phone by a customer assistance operator that our one year warranty had expired. And the cost of repairs would be ours to pay. I called the local repair shop with the number given. We would then have to remove the 70 pound microwave from over the range, and place it on the table before the technician arrive. The technician came to the house and made the repairs. But then, he left me to reinstall it myself. About six months later, the same thing happened. Only the lights and the fan work now to serve as glorified range hood. My wife and I have been very upset with this. We wanted so much to be happy and proud of our new kitchen, but disappointment has sullied the experience.

Bought a LRMVS3006S. 30 cu. ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled InstaView™ Door-in-Door® Refrigerator with Craft Ice™ Maker less than 2 week ago. Ice maker did not work after 60 hour wait recommended when I called LG after waiting 48 hours for icemaker to function. Then we noticed that temperatures are not reaching the low levels needed. Result: Spoiled food!!! They sent a technician to fix it (which we reluctantly agreed to). Technician showed up 10 days after we bought fridge. What did he say? No fix. Problems with compressor and we dont even have the parts to fix it. The thing is, we do not want our brand new - not cheap - refrigerator fixed! We want it replaced or receive a full refund!!!. Almost two weeks and still dealing with insurance we bought to cover it and LG not responding. After always buying all appliances LG brand, this is the end of our LG preference in this household for sure.

At Thanksgiving our LG refrigerator and freezer stopped working. We bought it new a few years ago and loved its design and size. It was a lot of money for us but we splurged. We called the company we bought it from and they told us to call LG service direct. We could not get any response when calling LG so just decided to get a tech to look at it. Took him a week to get back to us because of the holidays. He told us the sealed freon system was broken and the compressor was toast and he could not do the repair. He charged us for the visit and left. He said it would cost a lot of money to fix - So we tried to contact another service company to fix it. The only one we could find to work on our fridge is a couple of hours away and we have to take the refrigerator to them. It is very heavy and taking it down a flight of stairs is pretty scary and we really dont want to transport it. We called LG again trying to get a service tech to come out to our home to fix it but cant get through to anyone. At this point we are probably going to buy another brand as we have been without a fridge for weeks. If LG wants our business please answer your phones!

I am so disappointed in my new LG (Model LDT 7808 ST) dishwasher purchased early April 2021. I guess I missed the statement in the manual Hybrid Drying System: This efficient drying system does not use a heating element during the drying process... Guess what? The translation of that is: This dryer does not dry AT ALL. Everything is wet. And there is a cycle called Extra Dry and thats quite funny because it doesnt dry at all either so why have it? The only suggestion from LG? Make sure your rinse aid is filled. A dishwasher that has no drying ability except air dry is not my idea of a product I want. I will not be keeping this dishwasher and I will not be buying another hybrid drying system dishwasher from anyone. If Im going to have to dry my own dishes I might as well wash them too.

We purchased an LG refrigerator; it has French doors and with a bottom freezer. Shortly after it was installed, the freezer started accumulating ice. We had it repaired several times because the electronic circuits were defective, and the problem recurred. LG refuses to take responsibility for the problem even though they have re-designed the circuit board at least ten times. My repairman told me that they have this problem since the refrigerator came to the market. I have paid hundreds of dollars in service calls, and the last time I spoke to their customer service department I was met with complete indifference. I was told that there was nothing they could do for me. Another issue is with this unit is poorly designed; it has a very flimsy hardware for the crisper drawers that keep coming off the rails. That issue was also not acknowledged.

I have had nothing but problems since purchasing this washer from Home Depo
I have had nothing but problems since purchasing this washer from Home Depot. First it was emptying the little filter all the way down on the left side of the front of the washer. If all the water was not out it took hours for it to empty, even the smallest amount of water. Now, yesterday and today the washer cannot seem to even wring out a couple towels. I had to remove a small scatter rug yesterday soaking wet and place it rolled up in a towel in the dryer until the washer decided to finish the load of laundry, then putting the rug back in the washer to be wrung out before returning it to the dryer. Today I put a couple bath towels, not thick ones, ones I use around the house, and a small scatter rug about 2x3 ft, and now the door to the washer will not open, at all. I waited over an hour, tried to open the door again, the washer will start and water will run, which I immediately stopped, when the water begins you can hear the click for the door, but when the washer is stopped, the click for the door does not happen - so I cannot open the door. This is a horrible product, and I am so very sorry I did not get my Maytag washer that I have had in the past - with no problems until the day I replace it. On that day, the person delivering my new washer asked if he could have my other one for his home as it was still working. I only wanted a new washer and made the horrible mistake of purchasing and LG PIECE OF JUNK - NEVER AGAIN AND I WILL WARN EVERYONE NOT TO DO SO INCLUDING MY 5 DAUGHTERS.

We bought a new LG French door refrigerator model LFX28978ST from Sears. The refrigerator is under warranty - 7 year for sealed system and 10 yr linear compressor. We had enjoyed the refrigerator until it stopped generating any cool air in Jun 2016. We had contacted LG support, and LG technician came out 6 times to fix the same cooling issue. Every time the fix only lasted 2 days to maximum 10 days. The LG technician had been telling us the cooling issue is not fixable; however, LG corporate insisted its fixable. LG corporate also said they will continue to fix the issue with no consideration on the number of attempts! Anyone with common sense agrees 6 attempts is more than enough to prove its not fixable! When we suggested there is lemon law to protect consumers from repeated same issue; LG corporate said the law does not apply to appliance. LG corporation does not care about customer satisfaction and does not honor their written warranty. Its unfair for consumers to take this nonsense from big corporation. Where is accountability? Never buy LG again.

Fix for mildew smell in LG washer: Use a half cup or so of plain old cheap vinegar in every load. It takes the smell away. Add it with the detergent you use. We use 2 or 3 cups in heavy loads of towels. Our old top loader, my mothers front loader, and our new LG all needed it. Nothing we ever did took the smell away. For us it was a combination of the water in our town and our washers. Just try it. Your clothes will not smell like vinegar. We hated that smell and this fixed it. Anytime we forget to add it, we get the smell again. A gallon of cheap vinegar costs 2, maybe 3 bucks at the most? Seriously, try it on a few loads of towels and youll be happy.

I have had the LG HE machine for approximately 2 years. When I first got it, I called LG because the machine wasnt getting all of my clothes wet and certainly not clean. They smelled dirty when they came out. The repairman said that the machine was working properly and proceeded to completely fill the tub to prove it to me. I have since found that the only way to get a full tub of water to cover my large loads is to run the washer on Bulky Bedding with Heavy Soil Level. (Nice trick for the repairman to use). How much longer will LG (I dont know about other so called HE makers) be allowed to dupe the public into buying these machines? I bought it to save energy and water. I care about our overuse of the earths resources in fact I am one of those who still hangs clothes outside on my clothes line. As soon as we can save enough money, we will dump this machine.

I purchased my home in 2010 that came with new set of LG appliances. I am having nightmares with the LG gas stove (model: LRG30357ST). Within few months, one of the knobs cracked at the plastic insert. Now why on earth would you design a knob with a plastic insert to mesh with a metal shaft? I replaced this with a new one costing $80. After a few months, this one cracked again and I had to junk the knob as it was of no use. Now after a year, the rest of the 4 knobs have cracked too and I have to use a Gorilla SuperGlue to hold them together. Not sure how long they last. Calling the customer service is of no use as they redirected me to the parts department. Why on earth would I pay $400 ($80 times 5) for 4 knobs? I will be junking the gas range once the knobs become unusable. My advice to fellow consumers, be cautious when buying an LG product and make sure you have reviewed thoroughly the comments by other consumers. I will never buy an LG appliance going forward. By the way, my LG dishwasher had its door and motor replaced (fortunately LG covered that). The only original part is the frame.

I have been an LG customer for very long with almost all appliances being from LG. However my dishwasher problem has disappointed me greatly. I have an dishwasher model D1452WF which is my 2nd LG dishwasher over a period of 15 years. However after 4 years of using D1452WF, I noticed start of rusting of both the upper and lower racks/trays. I thought it was just a minor issue and continued using. But now after one more year, I have noticed that the rust has increased. The spares racks cost around US$215. I am really disappointed. What is the use of a 10 year motor warranty when the inside trays start rusting much earlier. I use salt regularly to soften the water. I have no other problems with the machine. So there is no point in buying such an equipment unless they make reliable parts as well.

I will never buy an LG washer or dryer again. The LG washer is rusting out on top after only two years and very careful use. I contacted customer service on numerous occasions and they wanted $200 to simply come out and look it over. They were very unhelpful and rude when I asked for someone to fix it for less since it was so new and obviously had a flaw in the design of the washer. They refused to stand by their product and refused to do anything about the rust. This washer will be lucky to last three years. It was an expensive top loading washer with no agitator. It was a waste of money. I thought the LG was well priced until I realized the quality is so poor and the customer service so awful. LG makes their appliances look good on the outside but on the inside they are very poor quality. It appears that they make their appliances look fancy and state of the art, but they are actual cheap imitations of good, solid, quality products.

In late June 2017 I purchased the fridge (LG 620L french door - GF-B620PL) from The Good Guys - Brighton and it was delivered late September 2017. First Service - the door of the fridge did not close well and when it did it did very loudly. The serviceman said it was a part was missing from the door. Did not hear for a while so got in touch and said it needed to be ordered. Second Service- (serviceman Steve) - initially said did not need part but then changed his mind and said it did. He sent a message saying part was not available and that fridge did not need part (even both said did). Door still banging closed. Third Service - Freezer section was icing. Man came out and said the drawer rollers needed replacing as door of freezer did not close well and that temperature was too high Put down to 13. Fourth Service - Came back and replaced rollers. Fifth Service - All food in the freezer section had melted (thrown out). Asked why did not alert as was told if door nearly closed there is no alert. He also said temperature was too low and put it up to 18 and that we should check fridge regularly. I am very disappointed with LG service as we get mixed messages and I only got this fridge because reviews were good. I understand that there could be a bad apple in the millions made and can accept and asked to get replacement but response has not great. I have been very patient, I did not ask or claim for damaged food and accept that bad apples exist but I am not happy with the service and response I have been getting. LG customer service did reply and were abrupt and said they were happy what they did and that was it. No apology or was I happy! (Must of missed customer service lesson 101!) NEVER LG AGAIN!

I bought the refrigerator July 2016 plus a 5 year warranty. The first year the water flow from the in-door water was very slow. I had to call for service and they fixed it. Now July of 2019 (3 years) the whole refrigerator stopped working. Customer service is a joke. Ive called customer service three times, speaking to three different reps. The first one walked me through a reset and literally said that she guaranteed me that would fix it. She said check in eight hours. I did and it was not working. This was Friday and they are closed for the weekend. I spoke to another rep the first of the next week and he said that it would take until the following Monday for a tech to look at it to diagnose. That will be the ninth day without a refrigerator and freezer. He told me to prepare to be without a refrigerator for another two weeks after the tech makes the diagnosis and orders the parts. That will make 23 days from the time I reported. I spoke to a third rep to find out how to get reimbursed for the loss of $1500 in food. She said she could only authorize a $100 reimbursement. I recently looked at the current reviews and realized everyone is experiencing this same problem. I will never buy an LG product again.

In November 2011, we purchased an LG Microwave (Model LMV1813SB). It lost power a month later and had to be serviced by LG. It went out again a week later. An LG service person came out and worked on it again, but due to the LG policy, would not replace it until after four service calls. We had the issue again in March and April and finally they are replacing it. My complaint is the extremely poor policy and customer service that LG has. They would rather have the customer go through the time and effort of not having a microwave, making numerous phone calls to LG and scheduling time to have the microwave fixed. This is such horrible customer service. The time and effort we have had to go through to replace the microwave is more than what the microwave is worth. Here is the icing on the cake. LG has shipped our new microwave but told us that the one year warranty does not include removal and installation. I had to argue to get them to reimburse me for this. I will never buy another LG product based on this horrible customer service experience!

I WAS in love with my new fridge. The 25 cu ft. capacity is just the right size for my family of 5. (We also have a deep chest freezer for handling all the meat, icecream tubs, etc). The dual ice makers really come in handy when the ice maker on the door cannot handle the load. (Its quite small, so in summer months, or with guest over, you run out of ice quickly). It has plenty of space and looks gorgeous. Flash forward 4 months 2 weeks later... compressor goes out. I call LG about this issue... and the frustration begins. The incompetent reps on phone tell me that the reason my fridge is not cooling is because I have the temp setting at 2 degrees instead of at 0 degrees for the freezer, and 37 degrees instead of 35 for the upper portion. Ok, a whole two degrees will make my fridge cool. Then they went on to perform this gimmicky smart diagnoses that the unit is equipped with. She did not want to sent a technician out because the smart dx told her that there was nothing wrong with the fridge. Meanwhile there is water all over my kitchen floor because all the ice was thawing and melting out of the unit. I called on a wed. On a Friday a certified LG tech came out. Told me the compressor is dead and that it would be Monday before he could repair it. So now I have been without a fridge for days, with 3 young children in the house.I have called LG and voiced the fact that this is unacceptable for a 2k fridge. The rep proceeded to tell me I would only have to pay for service call! How is it that when you are still under warranty you have to pay for the service call? The technician shook his head in dismay. He could not believe what he was seeing. I placed the call on speaker for him to listen to the ridiculousness by the rep. After my unit seemed defective, I went online and have read tons of reviews on LG fridges needing major repair within the year, and am afraid I was sold a lemon. I want a replacement or my money back. They have not contacted me. I have called and have been hung up on. I was also hung up on, right in front of the technician! You think you are buying a nice piece from a reputable trustworthy company, and the fact is all the contrary. I am so disappointed.

I purchased my LG refrigerator in 2015, within one year the ice maker died. This is after they delivered it and set it up wrong and flooded my house doing a significant amount of water damage (weve paid for everything out of pocket). Now two years later, the compressor died. We have been trying since November to find a LG service provider in our area to fix it. Needless to say a month later LG tells us to find our own repairman and they will cover the part. This refrigerator is in my rental property and we had to purchase a second refrigerator for the tenants because its taken LG so much time to look for a service provider. We paid $2950 for the fridge, $200 for the ice maker, $11,000 in damages from the improper hookup, $800 for a second fridge, and now it will be $500 for the repairs (not including the $400 compressor). All these reviews are 100% accurate, stay away from LG products!!!

LG Front Load Washer & Dryer - Bought new several years ago. Worst product, bad design, many problems, and bad smell despite frequent cleaning of the bottom trap hose and screw on filter thing (and despite sanitize/tub clean over and over). It never rinses clothing or even washes it satisfactorily. Not energy efficient because it takes 4 rinses to get soap and stinky sour odor out of clothing. It never smells or feels clean anyway. Spent a thousand dollars to have it fixed when it wouldnt turn around. The smell is bad. Lots of other bad design issues besides the biggest problem. It doesnt clean the clothing!! LG makes REALLY BAD QUALITY PRODUCTS. The gas range is awful and so is the gas dryer and the microwave. It is blue inside, which is the only good thing about it. NEVER BUY LG ANYTHING. I purchased a LG refrigerator and wasn’t aware of the known defects that come with it. One day it just stopped working. Being a licensed Electrician I decided to check it out. I immediately saw that the compressor had power, but wasn’t working. I dug up my purchase order, called LG and the warranty company. I did purchase the extended warranty when I purchased it. Now I find myself having to wait up to 4 weeks to finally get this repaired. They say they are sorry, but make little effort to move things along. They have known that there compressors are bad but don’t offer a recall on it. Tonight I’m going to go buy a new refrigerator (not LG) while I wait for them to repair the garbage they sold me. They expect a family of 6 to wait. I’m hoping for a class action lawsuit to happen so I can get some satisfaction from this. Save yourself, don’t waste your money. Buy a different brand and do your homework before you purchase. Disgraceful company!

I bought a new LG kitchen appliance set Stove/fridge in 2015, which cost a little over $5000, the fridge was in my house 45 mins from the store, I hired a plumber to install and connect a new water line for the fridge, after it was connected and plugged in, the water disperser would not work, I phoned LG right away, LG service personnel asked me how old the fridge was, I told her... 45mins, she was shocked and embarrassed, and 4 days later they sent a appliance technician to fix it.We have had nothing but problems with this fridge, the ice maker works off and on when it feels like it, the door jam between the french doors broke... Cheap plastic. The 2 oven stove burnt one burner coil out not long after the warranty was over, I contacted LG, they said for a one time fee I could have it repaired, and so on, my reply was... Ill never buy your product again. The glass stove top is very dangerous, hot pots and pans slide around very easy, dangerous around young children. Our LG French door refrigerator stopped cooling as noticed on a Thursday evening. The next day, Friday, early in the morning, I tried to reach the LG call repair centre but I was put on hold. I waited holding the phone to my ear for about 10 minutes. Then I called Corbeil Appliances in Ottawa and I was told that I might have to wait on hold for at least a half hour. This is not acceptable. I did try calling the LG repair centre again throughout the morning but again I was put on hold. Then finally on that same Friday afternoon, someone answered at the LG call repair centre. I was then booked in for service the following Thursday which is about one week of waiting without a refrigerator to cool foods and medicines. This LG repair call centre and service is not acceptable. We have an extended warranty which fortunately was still in effect. The LG service technician was professional and repaired our LG refrigerator. He appreciated our frustration at trying to book an appointment to have our refrigerator repaired. In the future, I dont think I will consider buying another LG product as long as reviews re: booking a service repair, remain negative. I will also recommend to friends that they read the LG repair call centre reviews before they consider purchasing an LG product. We were very upset initially with our expensive LG refrigerator breaking after 3 1/2 years which left us living out of coolers for a week, losing 80% of the items in our refrigerator and freezer due to spoilage. We were finally able to speak with an LG Representative on the phone within 24 hours to discuss the problem and LG came through and stood behind their product by conducting a repair with upgraded new parts and a software update to help eliminate future problems. We had an extended warranty through an authorized LG retailer we purchased from. LG took over the repair order, sent their internal LG Service Direct Technician to our home and conducted the repair. The technician was very professional and highly skilled. The repair only took 1 hour.We were very concerned about parts being ordered and having to wait an additional 1-2 weeks after diagnostic testing. Not the case! Repair was complete on 26 FEB 2020, 6 days after breakage. 5 hours after the repair completion, the ice maker was producing ice, freezer was working, and the refrigerator was cold. Seems like a good repair. I would like to thank LG for their support in this matter regarding our refrigerator repair. We look forward to enjoying our LG appliances now and in the future.

Nothing but trouble since very first wash. Ive used my new top-of-line LG washer about a dozen times. In about 75% of those cycles, it makes a grinding sound so loud that it reverberates throughout the entire house. When the repair tech finally came (after I filed FOUR support requests), the sound didnt occur during his visit and he said he couldnt repair it. He also said the problem is a known issue, and even if the sound had occurred while he was there, he couldnt repair it anyway because the problem is electronic and not mechanical.Ive also noticed a few cycles where it didnt fill with enough water to completely wet the items, and they smelled very soapy after the cycle ended even though I always use the minimum recommended amount of detergent. What Im left with is an expensive brand new machine that is pretty much unusable, in the midst of the COVID pandemic when Id especially like to be able to sterilize my clothing and linens. I couldnt be more disappointed in the quality of this product and lack of resolution to the problem.

The 1st week of 8/2016, compressor broke down again. Again, the first two authorized LG service rep sent could not do the compressor replacement work. Sent the 3rd service rep on Aug 29th. As of today, Sept. 3, 2016, still waiting for service rep to receive replacement part expected on Sept 12, 2016. This is the refrigerators third compressor in 14 mos. All repair service techs have expressed that LG refrigerators have a going compressor problems. My experience has been besides having a bad LG product, their warranty service is horrible.

I just purchased a LG dishwasher LDP6797BB from Home Depot on 10/9/17, it was delivered on 10/17. We installed it ourselves (no issues there). Once we had the dishwasher all installed and confirmed no leaks, I went to run the dishwasher through a full cycle (as recommended). I powered on the machine only to get this code L2, I pulled the book out to find out this code means, luckily (according to the book) this is not an error it is a Rinse Agent code... However, the book does not tell you how to clear this code. So I called LG customer service, I was told I had to reset the machine at the circuit breaker. OK so I do that, machine is reset, machine works (thank God). When the cycle completes, I load the dishwasher with dishes and power on the machine... L2 AGAIN, reset AGAIN, did not work, reset breaker again. I have done this 1 MILLION TIMES in a week (and yes there is rinse agent in the machine). I have called LG, they are no help. They have no techs on staff that you can speak to, I know this is an easy fix, but they insist on sending a tech to my home. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY LG AGAIN... Fingers crossed that they can fix this once and for all.

The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. However, with multiple repairs under the warranty and the rust, we regret the decision.

We bought a set about a year ago the LG washer inverter direct drive/true balance anti-vibration system with steam technology and the LG sensor dry with steam technology. I thought it might be too technical but its easy to use and my water bill is 7 to 10 dollars a month cheaper and we use a 1/4 of the detergent that we did before. And the options are many and it plays a musical tune when its done not a buzz that scares you and it large enough to do anything. I got the extended warranty because of the electronic board. Only one problem was the washer is so deep my wife has to use grabbers to get the laundry out of the washer. I think this was money well spent on and I like that the door on the dryer can pull down or from the side, the washer has a glass top thats called diamond glass and a soap and softener dispenser. I did wish they had it in something more than white and Im still learning thing about it like I can connect it to my phone to let me know when its done but I really have to say thats pretty lazy. I hope this helps someone if theyre looking.
