LG Secadora Modelo DLGX8601BE
I suddenly had an issue with my top loaded LG washer. It turned out that there was a recall on my model and LG sent a technician. Not sure what he did but when he left the washer was working but the electrical distribution was not so he simply connected the machine to an extension cord and left! When I called LG back to get retribution they asked me to contact their supplier to make a claim with them.
The knobs on the LG gas range will turn on just by reaching over the stove to get something and turning to walk away. They turn past lite and fill your house with gas. You barely touch them and they do this. This is very dangerous. I have come home 3 times in the last year with my house filled with gas. My elderly mother took a pan off the stove to wash it and then went to the living room not noticing the smell. I came home and nearly passed out when I walked to the kitchen. I see that there are many reviews with this same issue. I have called LG and they keep trying to send a technician. I have explained its not a technical issue. Is a very poor design. They will have their safety team call me within 24 hours. I think something needs done about this. People are or probably already have been killed. They certainly have to be aware of this with all the reviews I have read. Next step is to go to the News and do a demonstration so people will be aware and not purchase from this company. Like I said it has happened 3 times in my home and its dangerous. Please do not buy LG gas ranges.
This microwave has a 10 year warranty on the inverter. I’ve had this microwave for less than two years and the inverter has stopped working. I contacted LG and was given three LG approved companies to contact for the warranty work. Each company told me the labor cost would be more than the microwave was worth. I contacted LG again and was told there was nothing they could do, and I should buy a new microwave at my own cost. I purchased this microwave because of the advertised warranty. Given that labor costs likely always exceed the purchase price of the microwave, this warranty is designed to be unusable. What a scam.
LG WT487OCW top loading washing machine - Purchased 7 months ago. Since day one the machine gave constant signals of being out of balance. We constantly have to restart the machine extending washing time to an average of 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The diagnostic system built into the machine is not helpful. It diagnosed a different problem and could not correct it. Currently it dispenses water during the spin cycle, again extending the total cycle due to having to restart the machine. Customer service did reply with a warranty repair that is pending. In contact with the servicing contractor who stated that software problems with this machine are common and a motherboard and flywheel may be the needed repair. We will see.
We love the way our stove (LRG3095) looks with its beautiful cobalt oven, but we do not like that two of the burners are weak. I do not need a manufacturer to call one burner a power burner while another will barely boil a saucepan of water. All burners should have been equal, allowing me, the customer, to decide how high to turn the heat. Also, the top control panel sticks out more than 2 inches into the space of the back burners, so you cant really fit four pots on the range at once - extremely frustrating and really cuts into the functionality of this otherwise well-designed piece of equipment.
We got the fridge, due to its size and easy storage design. However, the compressor has been miserable to deal with. It failed about 36 Months in, and the warranty had us paying $250 in labor. Fast forward 18 months later, and its failed again... I cant wait to get rid of this. Its been the worst appliance weve ever owned.
My refrigerator (LSXS22423) a side by side is 2 years and 3 months old. Wasnt making ice Sunday and by Monday everything in freezer was thawed. The compressor is shot!! Really... 2 years??? I was told by a person who SELLS LG refrigerators that he wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Their compressors are known to die after about 2 years... Really?? He said even if you wanted to repair it they would use the same compressor model that failed and since so many of them are failing we are looking at a 3 to 4 month wait-list... Really?? I bought a whole new LG kitchen 2 years ago. My fault I did not read the reviews first. Totally my fault, but when you pay $1700 for a fridge you expect more than two years out of it. I had a GE before and had it for 18 years. Still worked when I bought my precious LG. I am a senior who has to watch his money and this situation just makes me sick. I dont deserve this nor do any of the other LG customers who have been screwed. Where is the Quality Control?? It is a crime and you should be ashamed. 2 years... REALLY?? Yeah, really!!!
Purchased LG appliance package from Home Depot 11/12/11. June of 2015 the microwave blew up and will not function. Contacted a repairman who was told by LG service this microwave was no longer manufactured and no parts available. I purchased a new microwave only to find out that I can no longer get a microwave with the dimensions of 29 1/2L x 15 1/2H x 15D. Unfortunately, we have previously installed new glass backsplash tiles which will have to be cut to fit a new microwave. These were special order tiles! When I contacted LG, I was told, Sorry, we now have a throw away society. This was after 3 different calls to customer service and being told my case was in for review! Also concerned about larger dimensions leaving only 13 3/4 clearance between stovetop and microwave.
The saga of the LG refrigerator: 11 months ago we bought an LG refrigerator. When we came back to town the refrigerator had broken and everything in freezer was defrosted. We had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food. We contacted Costco concierge who contacted LG. This is where the fun begins: LG referred us to a repair company that had gone out of business, but we were told we had to wait 48 hours for them to contact us. Then we were given the name of another company several hours away from us who called us right back stated that a part had to be ordered and received before they could fix it. This was done without ever evaluating the problem. When the part arrived several days later, we were told we now had to wait several more days before someone could come out and install it. After the part was installed, we were told to let them know if the refrigerator hadnt cooled by the next day. It had not. They need several more days before a repair person could be scheduled to come back. The person came back and was not qualified to fix the problem - LG had referred us to a company that was not qualified to do repairs! After 6 hours on hold over two days between Costco concierge, LG customer service, and LG resolution department, I asked for a new refrigerator because we were told the next repair company could not come out to even look at the refrigerator for another week! In the mean time we are living out of a cooler trying to keep my husband fed with a special diet to deal with his throat cancer. I was assured by someone in the Resolutions department that our request was expedited, but it was not. We are now told that they have a week to decide whether to give us a new refrigerator or continue to draw out repair on the current one after initially telling us we would hear by the next day. When calling again today, the date given by LG of when they will respond has been moved back yet again. So that 3 weeks out we still are no closer to a repair.
Have the recall issue and LG sent a repair co. out and they replaced the main board. It is now a week later and having the same problems with the range. Temps rising on their own. I called LG again and they told me it is a one time fix. I have all LG appliances and am replacing them as I can. Just replaced the dishwasher 2 months ago and the range will be next followed by the washer that Im having issues with as well. Lifes not so good.
This is a new LG Top Washer. 2nd call to Repair. Awful
My refrigerator was not giving cooling before 2.5 months (Apr-2019). I registered complaint with **. Since two months below steps has been taken and still not resolved - in process. (I cannot use refrigerator in summer). Engineer came and suggested circuit issue. Again he suggested circuit is ok, but compressor need to change. We replaced compressor and paid nearly 7000 Rs. After checking for 24 hours at LG service station, delivered to me and within THREE days not giving cooling in down part (ice cooling part is ok). Now since 20 days service center (Shahibaug, Ahmedabad) person is telling me the specific part (heater/sensor) need to order. To order that part, I need to register a new complaint. I have registered it and provided **. Still waiting for the solution. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME TO REPAIR MY REFRIGERATOR ASAP. THANK YOU.
While recently reading a Consumer Reports article about recommended refrigerators, I noticed that LG got very high ratings. Given my experiences with an LG refrigerator, I was shocked. Six years ago, we were so pleased with our LG top-loading washer/dryer so decided to look at their refrigerators. I saw the one I wanted right away -- stainless, French door refrigerator with a huge amount of room inside and outer door ice and water dispenser. Loved the interior lighting, too. After looking at this one, I knew nothing else would make me happy so we plunked down $2500 for it, on sale no less! It ran fine the first year and I was the envy of anyone who came to our house and admired it.Skip to year 2 -- New Years Eve and we kept hearing this loud noise whenever the fan came on. An LG certified repair technician checked it a few days later and said it was a known design flaw; ice would build up around the fan and when the fan turned on, it would hit that ice. She was able to repair it and things were great again -- until the water/ice dispenser stopped working later that year. It had to be replaced but luckily, we had bought an extended warranty so we didnt have to pay for it. Shortly after that, one of the glides on a freezer drawer wasnt working correctly and it had to be replaced. This past December, the ice tray kept overfilling with water so when it froze, the tray couldnt empty; we kept hearing a loud clacking noise. I had to get out my blow dryer to thaw the ice enough that the tray could turn over and dump it. Of course, since the refrigerator is 6 years old, our extended warranty was up so it was on us to get it fixed. Luckily, my husband is a former Industrial Arts teacher and avid YouTube viewer, so he ordered a new ice maker and fixed it himself. It worked fine after that.2 months ago when I opened the refrigerator one night, I noticed quite a bit of water on the top of the freezer door. I thought maybe I had spilled water, though I couldnt imagine how I might have spilled that much, and after cleaning it up, I opened the freezer drawer. Soft ice cream, thawing meat, melting ice cubes did not bode well. Strangely, the freezer indicator on the outside of the refrigerator registered 0 degrees. I checked the refrigerator and the inside felt warmer than usual. When I stuck a thermometer inside, it registered 50 degrees. Thinking maybe the coils needed cleaning, we did that and moved all of the food to our 25 year old garage refrigerator and to our basement freezer. The next morning when we checked the temperature in the refrigerator, it was almost 70 degrees so time to call an LG certified technician. (Not easy to find, by the way) The first one who came to our house and checked our refrigerator announced that it needed a new condenser and two evaporators. He was qualified to fix them, but his company would no longer allow their technicians to work on the LG evaporators/condensers because theres a special valve inside that, if damaged during a repair, cant be fixed -- the whole refrigerator would be dead. His company didnt want to assume that responsibility, and I cant really blame them. The second LG certified tech said that even though the parts are still covered by the LG warranty, it would cost us about $700 plus a $100 service charge to fix it. Thats almost a third of what we paid for the refrigerator and would cover the cost of a new no-frills top freezer refrigerator! Oh, and only a 60 day guarantee. We said no thank you, so as we speak, theres what my husband likes to call a $2500 paperweight sitting in our kitchen. I sent an email to LG and the answer I got back sounded as if the girl who replied hadnt even read my email, or at least didnt understand it. Her suggestion was to contact an LG certified technician to fix it. (I guess she missed the part of my email where I said that we consulted TWO LG certified technicians!) Disgusted with that response, I sent a letter to both the President of LG and the Consumer Relations person to express my dissatisfaction with my refrigerator. Have I heard back? No. Will I hear back? Probably not. Given the number of complaints Ive seen over time, it appears that LG service leaves a lot to be desired. I think its a sad commentary when a $2500 less than 7 years old dies, while a 25+ Kenmore out in the garage is still working just fine.According to one of our repairmen and from what Ive read, the problem is that appliance companies today are manufacturing appliances to last only 5-10 years, and refrigerators are nearer the bottom of that estimate. Gone are the days of appliances that lasted 25 years or more (I had a Maytag washer/dryer set that lasted almost 30 years!) Most refrigerators, too, have only a one year warranty, so purchasing a longer warranty is pretty much a necessity. Searching for a new one over the past several weeks has been a real challenge, and so far, nothing has grabbed my attention like my LG did six years ago... maybe because Im going back to simple, top freezer fridge without an ice maker so well hopefully avoid a lot of repairs. Bottom line: If youre looking for a new refrigerator, please do your homework, and stay away from companies with poor service record reviews after the sale. Also, make sure you buy an extended warranty because chances are, youll eventually need it.
It started to leak on the floor so I googled and found out the problem and fixed it. I really have no other problems with my washer. There are a lot of choices for how to wash. I like the choice of extra rinse but I wish there was an option to ONLY RINSE. Its my LG refrigerator that gave me endless problems.
LG: my advice is don’t buy any of their products. 5 weeks ago my $3000 fridge stopped cooling. I had a local company out here, they determined that the linear compressor has to replaced, like most of them after just a few years. Called LG June 14th., filed a warranty claim and got confirmed the part would ship in 2-3 weeks. Coming back from Europe last week no part, no correspondence. Called last Thursday and a lady in their customer service center confirmed my order but told me it was not processed. She would expedite and call me back on Monday. Again nothing happened. 1st call today I was forwarded to their external part warehouse provider who didn’t have any information. Asked for supervisor, got connected but he refused to take care of the warranty part and insisted to send another technician to my home, but can’t guarantee that he has the part. In the meantime I bought a 2nd fridge and put it in my garage. You buy an expensive, presumingly high end product at a premium price that fails premature, service is nonexistent, warranty is not honored and spend 2 hours on the phone.
Three of the four LG appliances that we purchased at almost $6,000.00 for the set, have failed in some way since the delivery in July, 2016. The stove has caused two fires. The Microwave computer display has gone crazy and displays all manner of odd characters blinking or scrolling across the display. It doesnt microwave for the time set so we dont dare trust it to do 20 seconds when it could easily do 6 minutes or more. *See Photos. The Refrigerator began failing a little over a month after we installed it. This is a known issue to LG, as I see many buyers of the LG in-door ice maker refrigerators complaining of the same problem. Leaking water and ice build up in the door jam, forming ice in the door jam and inside the refrigerator, making it impossible to open the left produce drawer as the ice blocks it, or to close the front doors completely as ice builds up. *See Photos. The Dishwasher never worked correctly. The detergent compartment wont open. Not with liquid detergent, not with powder detergent, not EMPTY. The heating element doesnt work as the dishes come out sopping wet, even when I choose Extra Dry as a cycle. The Stove is an EXTREME fire danger. The knobs turn so easily and light the flame automatically on high that me reaching over the stove to grab something has turned a burner on more than once. When we were installing the microwave this happened and our shirt, the cardboard and plastic we had protecting the stove from dust, all caught FIRE. Also our cat walking across the knob, turned it on, burning our cats fur. I can not imagine what would happen with children in the home. We should have to push in the knob and turn it in order to light the flame as a safety precaution. Any slight bump or brush on the knobs turns the burners on high. We have to put tape on the knobs to keep them from being turned on accidentally. I see this is a known issue from the volumes of similar complaints from consumers who have bought the LG gas stove. In my opinion, this should be a Class-Action Lawsuit. I sincerely hope it doesnt require the loss of life or 3rd degree burns in order for LG to recall these stoves and do the right thing. So here we spent nearly $6,000.00 on new appliances even though we are on a fixed Military Disability income. Now we have $6,000.00 worth of paperweights by LG. The Model numbers of our appliances are as follows: LG Dishwasher LDT9965BD, LG Microwave LMHM2237BD, LG Gas Stove LDG4315BD, LG Refrigerator LMXC23746D.Uninstalling these appliances and replacing them with Non-LG, quality appliances that will work and not fail, are a significant difficulty for us with my husband disabled and only me to complete the work. It will require me having to hire and pay someone to uninstall the appliances, move them out to the garage and then install the new appliances. We will never buy LG anything, again. I am waiting for a response from LG. Calls to LG are useless with either overseas Operators saying I am sorry Maam for the inconvenience over and over. Or worse, saying that my issues are all Cosmetic and therefore not covered under manufacturer warranty. Calls to the United States Offices of LG also put me on hold forever and then I get hung up on. I did email LG again today. Costco has been much more responsive and I have been working with them over the last 4 months to get a resolution. I have asked Costco to stop selling LG Appliances in their warehouse and online.
LG fridge LFXS29626S French Door - Remodeled our kitchen and got this new piece of crap unfortunately. Compressor went out 1yr 4mos. Not under warranty. Broke down 6 weeks ago. No fridge for Thanksgiving and looks like no fridge for Christmas. Dont get me started on the customer service. One rep told me pretty much to get over it, she was without fridge once for 5 mos. 6 weeks is nothing! They all act like theres something wrong with us for feeling that the service is unacceptable. And they continue to get away with it. Unfortunately all our new appliances are LG. We remodeled our kitchen 1.5yrs ago. NEVER AGAIN. Will LET everyone know about this. Going to ABT moving forward. They stand behind their products.
Purchased an LG LFX 25971 French Door/Freezer on the bottom fridge in Sept. 08 from PC Richard. Am I glad they convinced me into a 10 extended warranty. 6 months after, LG notifies me, because the Consumer Energy Report was found to be off by the Government. They needed to give me a refund check of like $30.00 and a yearly check of about $8.00 for 10 years. That was just the beginning. So far I had to call for service 2 times for the internal LED light panel blew, 1 time for the ice maker, twice for water puddling and freezing in the bottom of my freezer and then running out onto my floor. Now I have to call again for the water in the freezer. The only good thing is PC RICHARD has been honoring their warranty no problem.
We own a lot of LG products so when we were in the market for a new stove, we went straight to the LG section. Well my burner on my range wont turn off. I called LG and they told me my model was on recall and they were aware of the problem. The tech came out and said he had to order the part. Then after spending way too much time on hold (One guy didnt even put me on hold, he put me on mute for 20 minutes!!!), they told me my range was not on the recall list!!! So I would be responsible for the parts and labor!! I then spoke to the supervisor who basically told me there was nothing she could do. So what am I supposed to do with this defected stove... leave the burner on and burn down my house? Not only that the number they gave me for the tech was no longer in service, I had to Google the company myself and provided LG with the correct number... For that alone they should fix my stove! So I will be contacting the better business bureau ...Heres the real kicker, Im hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house!!! LG stands for Lousy Grinches! They stole my Thanksgiving. Maybe Santa will bring me a real stove... by Maytag.
Every time I use the ice maker on my LG refridgerator, I hate it even more. Tonight is a good example, where I just needed a few ice cubes for a glass of scotch. More than 20 minutes later, I finally finished cleaning up the mess from the ice maker being frozen up and unable to dispense ice cubes. The resolution, as always, was to take everything apart to unblock the dispenser that was loaded with a frozen chunk of ice cubes and frost, which is likely due to the flap on the dispenser getting stuck open for some reason. This is NOT a one time occurence but one Ive been dealing with since the fridge was purchased more than 3 years ago. This combined with its ridiculously slow time to make ice has convinced me to NEVER, EVER buys another LG product. My contacting LG for support was an insult - everything was my fault and they stood by their claim that they were perfect and I was a nuisance for having contacted them. Ive had similar experiences with contacting them about their ranges, where the front edge of the stove top kept getting chip marks. Turns out they no longer sell a paint to fix these chips and asking them why was met with indifference. Methinks this is because theyre trying to avoid the liability of them having sold a product that has inferior paint or a large batch of ranges with faulty paint.
This is the 4th appliance (6 in total) that is nothing but crap! The model # LRE30453SB is the range that we own! I have had a technician out 4 times in 7 months to fix problems! The sensor has been replaced twice and the brain box once, and last week (11/8/2012), they were back again because of the same problem (sensor). This time, they put goop in the back of it to keep it from making the sensor noise. All I want is to have decent appliances! Luckily for me, this range has an extended warranty! My fridge wasnt so lucky. Well, I should say we are so lucky - $500 in medicine and food wasted! LG doesnt care! They wont do anything! The list goes on and on for ** appliances! The dryer and washer have both had to have repairs to them within the first year; the range, 4 times in 7 months. Now the fridge! Something needs to be done! This is a lot of money that I dont have to replace the food lost, and potentially new fridge! Do something.
Our LG clothes washer is consistently - awful! Clothes come out ‘stiff and unwashed. For example, a folded handkerchief comes out of the wash still perfectly folded. Terrycloth towels come out stiff and scratchy instead of soft and relatively fluffy. Most of the time, some parts of a pair of pants, for example, are not even wet when the wash is done. The problem, I think, is lack of water. It is impossible to get enough water into the (front-loading) machine to properly wash clothes - even when the extra water option is used. Way back when I lived in military barracks and used front-loading washing machines, the water level was generally a third to half way up the front window. Not so with this LG machine. I really regret buying it.
A friend gave me a used LG Tromm washer. It never worked correctly - kept getting a DE error or a de error. Replaced door sensor, cleaned out drain, had two different professionals repairman come and one handyman twice - still not repaired. LG says they cant do anything because their model number sticker wore off. Unbelievable.
From the very 1st week I use the machine, clothes never smells fresh. The washing cycles are too long and honestly I dont think it saves me any water. But the worst is the smell. I use softener drying sheets and my clothes smells like mold. My husband hates the smell especially in the towels! I would never recommend a front loader and definitely not an LG brand. I had the worst customer service. Im ready just to take a big loss on this machine. The water pump went out, just 3 months after my service contract had ended figures! Had the pair for only 5 years and already had problems with washer 3 times! I hate it!
First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.
LG WT4870C top loading washing machine has been a nightmare since we bought it. It started by ripping our clothing and then shaking violently. They came out initially and changed the drum. That took care of the ripping problem though they did not reimburse us for the clothing. It did not take care of the shaking problem which has become very violent. Please never, never buy an LG product.
We bought this range Model LRE3083ST at HHGregg in Sept of last year. So far it has one failed control panel and today after it was replaced a few months ago I awoke to the same issue. I unplugged it and plugged it in again and nothing shows up. The buttons do not work nor does anything else. This will be the second call on this range. I am not happy right now because I have been on hold for 1 hour and 46 minutes after speaking to someone who told me the same company cannot come out until the 26th. It is the 21st. I dont believe I should be without the range for that long. It is their product. They need to get back out to fix it or I want a new range.
We bought this refrigerator in Jan 2013 and in less than 3 years, it stopped working. I had Maytag and Kenmore Refrigerators for 12+ years and never had any issues. I talked to the customer service and they want to charge me to fix defective part.
LG Washing Machine Product WT1101CW: 1st-DO NOT BUY ANY LG!!! THEY ARE LEMONS!!! We purchased an LG Washing Machine and Dryer from Best Buy on 11/16/2012. I am writing this review on 9/28/16. I have had to have a repairman out twice and the long and short of it is the transmission & electric board went at the tune of $533.00 for parts and labor. Um I paid $629 for the machine new. I called LG several times. The 1st few times they said there was nothing they could do. Wrong answer! So I called a 3rd time & they offered me an extended warranty on parts and labor for 1 year for that repair for $385.00. So they would charge me more than half of what I paid for it??? No thanks. There is no telling what else will go wrong with it. Its a ripoff when you pay over $600 for a washing machine and it doesnt even LAST 4 YEARS. I read numerous complaints about LG like mine and worse. If we quit buying these lemons they will either have to make a better product or go out of business. Gotta go time to get on Consumer Reports and fork more $$ for a new one. Lets just hope it will last at least 5 years.
We purchased LG washer approximately two years ago thinking it was a great machine! Good name, great size, fairly good price... It turned out to be the worst purchase ever made. The machine is constantly off balance (even though it says true balance). A load that says 54 minutes takes over 2 hours and thats with many visits to the laundry room to fix it! Clothing is not clean, which after 2 hours there should be some sign that laundry is clean! I would NEVER recommend this washer to anyone! I am beyond frustrated with this appliance???
My daughter loved her LG French Door refrigerator so much I bought the same model. Her refrigerator stopped working when it was 5 years old. The repairman told her it was not worth repairing because the compressor needed to be replaced as well as a few other repairs. My refrigerator stopped working 5 years and 3 weeks after purchase. I will never purchase another LG appliance.
I dont trust any of the side loaders due to the possibility of water leaking around the door seal. Price was discounted for a holiday, from Lowes. Lowes installation bothered me a lot. This washer and dryer replaced Kenmores that were 25 years old, and still running. Quality means a lot to me. I expect these LGs to last at least as long as my 25 year old Kenmores since engineering and technology MUST have improved in the last 25 years. After a year, I am very happy with the LGs. Occasionally, the washer cant balance the load and I have to redistribute the washer contents. Note that the basin spins at over 1000 rpm, so a balanced load is critical. Thats okay. I thought the vast number of washing options were way too many, so too the dryer. But I guess some owners will use options that I dont. The clothes load size is really big. You will need very long arms to reach the bottom of the washer to pull out all the items.
Front loading machine - VERY perfect design. Drain pump died in a year and one day! Bingo! Never had that kind of bad experience ever in my life. This set is # 5 in my life in US. Kenmore, No name (GE?) from Sams club, Maytag, Cabrio lasted longest. That 10 years warranty big sticker on LG - like a bad joke. And what is that pile of sticky smelly stuff under machine? Customers service? Nice Indian guy... Trained perfectly to reject any attempt to get parts without paying to their authorized repairman. Chinese parts assembled in Vietnam... This is only left to buy for hard earned American dollars... Sad.
My LG Inverted Direct Drive Dishwasher is 9 months old. Fortunately, I have had no serious problems with my dishwasher, however, it doesnt clean very well (Dishes have to be washed before hand) and it takes 2 to 3 hours to wash. I have a large family so we have to run several loads daily, this machine takes up too much of my time. Another complaint I have is it has a lock on it to lock the keys but it doesnt lock the power button so my baby turns it off in the middle of cycle. This is even more frustrating because it takes another 2 to 3 hours to cycle. I wish I would have kept my $200 Hotpoint - it was much better.
I purchased an LG washing machine in Oct. 2007 at Best Buy. The washing machine rubber seal showed signs of mold within the first 6 months. I was told to keep the door open, but with animals and children here, this is impossible to do. The smell of mold is not pleasant. In 2010, I began to have electronic issues with the machine flashing the code le. I had 3 service calls for this problem (August, September, and December of 2010). The service tech would check the machine and circuit board for each call. This cost me $68.50 per visit. The same electronic issue code, le, began again in 2011. I have had 2 service calls (March and December). The same fix it job checked the circuit board. Again, the cost was $68.50 per visit. Now, in 2012, I have had 2 more service calls (February and March) for the same electronic issue, which cost me $68.50 and $119.00 respectively, for labor fees, to have the service tech do a full load of laundry! I was told that I needed to put heavier loads of laundry? After the tech left, I did a heavy load of laundry, and the machine again flashed the same electronic code, le! I have another service call tomorrow. They will now replace the circuit board (for around $300.00), but they told me that it might be another problem, like the motor. The total cost is around $461.50. LG does not produce good products. My advice to anyone looking at this brand is the old saying, buyers, beware!”. Shop for another brand!
Ice maker needs to be larger, it is too small for such a large refrigerator. Also, doors close very hard, needs egg holder and lunch meat compartment needs to be higher in refrigerator.
I have an LG dishwasher, stove, refrig and microwave in my kitchen. The stove, I love... The frig, I like. The microwave really works well. The only thing I would like to have that it dont is a quick min button. My other unit that was the button that we used 9 times out of 10. The dishwasher on the other hand, I have hate for. First of all, it never gets my dishes clean. It takes 2 hours to run and it doesnt get any of the dishes clean in that time. (JUST AN FYI... THE ENERGY SAVERS IS NOT ENERGY SAVING FOR THE CONSUMER... MIGHT WANNA DO A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THAT ONE) BUT ANYWAY...The LG dishwasher dont even rinse the dish soap off its own door. It is by far the worst dishwasher that I have ever had and I really dont have time to do dishes, thats why I have a dishwasher. My LG dishwasher has a lovely chime and thats all its good for. I have stuck a slice of cardboard in there with my dishes to see if it would even get wet... It had a few spots on it and it was a little damp from the high humidity during the disinfecting cycle (that by the way is so hot that I have had a couple of ceramic cups crack in half from the extreme heat). Second... be careful if you have one of these LG dishwashers because I opened it and let the door fall to its resting place so I could load it and the handle landed on the top of my foot and I had a large hematoma that turned black and blue covering the entire top of my foot for weeks from having it land on my foot. I thought it was broke to be honest. The thing is Im grown and life is hard enough to deal with manufacturers taking advantage of consumers by selling them products that dont work at all. Surely they did test on these and knew that they were unable to clean dishes. The thing is I use to love LG. Ive had several of their flat screens and of course I did my entire kitchen in LG... But for them to know that they made a shoddy product and not do right by the people that supported them by replacing the metal chimney boxes they sold us instead of dishwashers makes me sad... Ive spent months of my hard earned income on their products and to be swindled like this by them makes me so sad that even though I love their other products, I wont be supporting their company brand any longer. Its a warning... If you want clean dishes, do your kitchen with another brand!
I purchased a $2700 LG refrigerator 6 years ago. It stopped working. They provided only two companies to repair. Neither will call me back to come and service unit. LG cannot provide anyone that can repair it. I have to dump it and buy a new one. How is that fair? LG is one of the largest companies in the US.
I have top load LG smart drum - worst washer ever. UE ERROR CODE unbalanced load. Takes all day to do 2 loads because machine has to be babysat - it continually fills with water to balance load. Also it does not clean clothes well. The technician said it does not clean clothes well because I have well water (it is filtered and very clean water) and said that this washer would not work unless I did very large loads. He said 5 towels at one time not enough. Also LG will not do anything about it unless it is deemed un-repairable. Their technicians are trained with a list of excuses not to deem un-repairable as you can see above. I offer LG the machine back for free if they put it in a LG executives home - to see if they could use it properly. They said no.
When the load gets unbalanced during the spin cycle, the time goes back and the machine adds water to it again. This will keep going on automatically if you are not there watching the cycle. I have had 3 hour cycles and my water usage is high. As others have stated, this is the last time I buy LG. This is not a cheap washer either.
Updated on 10/08/2020: LG asked for information on 9/30/2020 so they can send out a repairman and I havent heard from anyone since. I have two kids to feed and I need my stove, it would be of great service if LG would honor their word and product.Original Review: We replaced all of our GE appliances that we had well over ten years with LG because of the design and salesman said its a good product. The gas range model# LRG3193BD, side by side refrigerator model #LSXS26386D, dishwasher model #805KWYPOP434 and the front load washer and dryer spending a good $8000 less than 2yrs ago. The stove looks like its 10yrs old (easy clean is a whole joke, food seared on pretty blue oven which I now have to clean myself). We have discoloration on the door handle, knobs, grates and burners all within a couple months of use.. Now the main board has gone out and to top that off we find out it has since been discontinued. Called LG customer service (nightmare). They refused to sell us the part saying only license repair Co can order. Had to pay repair Co $116 come to tell us they cannot get the part. Called LG again (nightmare) and all of a sudden they can send us the part for $106 but its on backordered. The refrigerator is discoloring in areas we dont even touch and the ice-maker starts and stops when it wants to. The dishwasher doesnt clean or dry well and the slightest touch turns it on. Where you put the detergents has rusted and its hard to clean and we have to leave the washer open after use or it smells to high heaven, dryer is ok. Remember these products are no more than 2yrs old. I will never buy LG products again nor will I recommend to anyone!
This is the worst design I have seen for a gas range. The knobs turn on easily. I first realized this after it had been installed and I told my husband, that could be so dangerous with kids in the home. We have accidentally hit them and turned them on ourselves so to have kids in the home would be awful. Even the older ranges have a safety feature for the knobs so they dont turn so easily. I woke up last night to a house full of gas. The stove had been running gas for at least 5 hours. We live in a multi level condo and the smell had become so strong upstairs that it woke me up.I did read there is a lock out feature by pushing the lower clear/off button down for 3 seconds; however, its a matter of always remembering to do that. I truly believe there should be a case made and there should be a safety recall on these stoves/ranges. Not happy. I will be shopping for something new. Regardless of the cost, whats the cost of our lives! Bad bad design. You would think in this day and age products would be safer than older models. Why then is this one SO dangerous???
We purchased the LG Front Loader a little over a year ago and it is the worst purchase ever made. The clothes smell, the house smells like rotten eggs and the most ridiculous part is when the repair man was at the house he said these machines cant take more than 3 or 4 towels in a load WTF??? That is High Capacity??? LG should be ashamed to sell this kind of crap - what is their address so I cant drop this off at their front door?
Purchased LG fridge LFC22770 in 6-2014. Two months ago food began to defrost in freezer. Called their service. The touted built-in diagnostic signal did not transmit a code. Was given phone number, after a 45 min. wait, to a TV repair business. What a joke. This morning we smelled burning electrical odor. My husband removed back cover and sparks were shooting out and wires had already melted. Imagine if we had gone to work or been on vacation?! Total hazard. Could have easily ignited cabinets next to and above unit. What if this had happened while we were asleep! The nightmare of the repair or replacement still awaits us as this is Saturday.
I purchased washer and dryer (LG waveforce topload) from Home Depot last year and making such a big purchase was quite scary. I could not more disappointed!! As I write I am going into 3 hours on 1 load of towels and a few baby items! Seems like every other load will constantly give me the UE code during spinning, doesnt matter how many times you adjust your clothes. I mean who really has time to stand there for over 3 hours adjusting clothes! This is insane! I have had servicemen from Home Depot come out 3 times over the last year and NOTHING has changed. By reading the other reviews I see I am not the only one, which brings little comfort as I pull my hair out and pack my other bedding to go to Laundromat so I can go on with my day. Shame on you LG for deceiving us public in not only thinking we were getting a good product but also saying its energy efficient and for wasting my money and another day off!!!!
I have never written a review before but this issue has me so angry I felt the need. Our fridge is 2 years old. We wanted the best for our brand new kitchen... So sadly ALL MY APPLIANCES (WASHER AND DRYER INCLUDED) ARE LG!!! I wish I had my money back. I started talking to LG about my issues in mid-July. I was given two service people in my area to work on my fridge, which was at that time freezing all the crispers to the point I can keep nothing there. The fridge is 60m degrees, crispers at 20, chilling drawer at 20-30, depending on its mood that day and the freezer is holding at 0. One repairman came, talked to tech services and was told then there was a service bulletin on this model. He followed the techs advice and order a new board and a seal. (Customer service lied to me and said there was no service bulletin... told them my husband saw it and read it so they were lying about that!!!)Waited a week for the part. He installed and left. That evening the same error showed up in the screen... E rF... again! Tech support had told him this meant a fan error. He comes back to then tell me TS wants me to shut down the fridge for 24 hours so it can reset, which means you are really without a unit for 48 hours as it takes 24 for it to reach correct cooling temp. So we follow their request and start life out of a cooler. That seems like a very long time ago... Needless to say, the shutdown did not work. The error returned, servicemen refused to come back so I called the other name given to me. He flat out refused to come, stating he had one just like it in his shop that LG (the largest appliance company in the world), could not tell him how to fix, and he wasnt going to get stiffed by them for his effort.I have spoken to LG several times and am currently without a fridge, have a $341 bill for the misplaced efforts on repair attempt, and am waiting another 7-10 days until they decide to let me know if they will fix or replace. I can only assume from what I have learned that LG has a product with such a problem in multiple systems that they have NO IDEA how to fix and can only hope we will give up and just go spend another $3000-$4000 on a new one!!! I have lost hundreds of $$$ in food and expense of eating out because of this. I do not plan on giving up... I plan on turning them over to the Better Business Bureau and contacting a Lemon Law lawyer. I can totally understand that at times things dont work as designed but to tell customers they dont know what you expect is not acceptable to me. They have lost a very good customer over this whole issue. Add up in your heads, LG management, how much your top of the line appliances cost for a new kitchen and laundry room and tell me how many customers you can tick off before you wake up!!!
This is my first LG. It is hands down the best machine I have used over 50 years. Its quick, quiet, easy to operate and clothes come out clean. It is also easy to keep clean. Can it get any better than that?
The light caught fire inside and melted the inside. They came and only changed the light, what about the damage it caused. They said the newer models are better. Its been 5 years, stand up and fixed or replace. Car dealerships do. What lemons their refrigerators are, stay clear.
The dishwasher is very quiet and washes well but takes a long time to go through the cycle. There are numerous cycles to choose from. A screen at the bottom of the DW is easily removed to dispose of food particles.
I bought a brand new LG Refrigerator two and a half years ago. Now, the freezer door fall off. All the meats/groceries inside the refrigerator are melted and rotten constantly. I would like to know what to do and how I can get it fixed? I would like to know if this happens to lot of customers? Please help.
10 year motor warranty is useless to me/read the fine print. I have an expensive top load direct drive LG washer that was 3 years old when the machine broke. I called LG and they gave me the name of a company to do a diagnostic. That company came out and determined that the motor shaft was broken. The tech estimated that it would cost close to $900 to fix. (Could buy a new washer for that) Thinking that being absurd, I called LG back and they told me that the part was covered but not the labor. The labor is covered for only a YEAR.They further told me that the guy that they recommended price was way too high. They gave me another number and I called that number only to find out that the company will only service items underparts and labor! Heres the ridiculous part. I cant find anyone willing to do a service call when just the part is under warranty. So after 3 years with an expensive washer it is looking like my only choice is to buy a new washer. LG has been of zero help. I will NEVER buy another LG washer again. It is a total joke dealing with their unknowledgeable customer service.
The washer/dryer are quite stylish, work well. The washer is very versatile and can clean small or large loads. There are a myriad of cycles, many I do not use. There are only two adults in the household. The dryer works well and does not over dry the clothes. My only complaint is that the washer takes way too long on the normal cycle. Thus I use the quick cycle on most loads.
We have had our French door refrigerator for 3 years and I have had to replace one inside bin two times, two different bins, one on the left and the one on the right. These drawers are not made strong enough to accommodate someone like me. In a hurry, lots of food and shoving food in the bin.
We bought the LG WT1701C washer and matching dryer for a new house. I started to notice the clothes werent getting clean, even on the Hot setting. I felt the water, and the in the Hot setting, the water was barely tepid. A service tech came to look at it and informed me that most of the new washer brands have a top temperature of 100 degrees. I was shocked to find this out. He did inform me that selecting a different wash cycle than Normal, like Bright Whites or Oxi Sanitize, will give you water thats hotter but those cycle times are longer. Also, in the Normal cycle, it seems that the washer takes more time to sense the size of the load than it does to wash it. Although I saw that it had no center agitator, I assumed the washer action would be similar to the old agitators. But I have watched laundry loads that swish back and forth but sometimes the laundry on top doesnt get down to the tub that does the washing. The agitation doesnt seem to be very strong. Again, selecting a different setting like Heavy soil, will create a stronger agitation. If youre shorter than 5 6, youll need a stool to reach the bottom of the tub. And be careful about inadvertently pushing buttons once your load has started. While reaching in the washer, I inadvertently hit a button that changed the setting. I could not go back or resume and had to start over. I was 2/3 through the cycle so it was very inefficient in water and electric. So far the dryer seems to work well. Although its a nice looking set, I would not buy it again. Even with some concerns about the smell in front loaders, I would choose a front loader to make sure that the clothes tumble enough to get clean. I believe this model has been discontinued but there are newer models with similar model numbers that I believe will have the same issues.
We bought a brand new LG refrigerator sometime around February 2011 for a second house that we visit once or twice a month. It wasnt a top of the line unit and ran about $800. When it was delivered and hooked up, it worked fine and continued to do so until August 2011 (it was about 6 months old) when it apparently quit working with a full freezer and a semi full fridge. We dont know exactly how long the unit was off but when we walked in the house, it smelled like someone had died! The smell was awful and it took an entire day to clean it up. We had trouble getting the smell out and the ice maker wouldnt work so we called LG and they sent a repair person out. The repair person replaced the ice maker, the motherboard and took the entire freezer apart to clean it and we found bugs behind the liner. He cleaned it completely and the smell was still bad so he had me use Lysol (LGs recommendation), bleach, baking soda, charcoal, newspaper but nothing would work. We left to come home and it was empty. We hoped it would smell better when we came the next time which was this past weekend for New Years. The smell was still horrible and we called LG. They said we had to have the repair person back out and he came back and said that the smell was from the bugs decomposing and he couldnt get it out. He called LG to tell them this and they said basically Good luck. We called LG and they said they couldnt help us. We asked to speak to that persons manager and we were connected to Amber, the executive service manager. Amber told us that according to the warranty, we were supposed to empty and turn off the fridge when we leave it unattended to go on vacation. Who does this? Im 53 years old and have owned numerous refrigerators over the years and have never had to empty and turn one off to go on vacation and never has this been a problem. She told us that they would do nothing to help us. When we asked to speak to her superior, she told us that she didnt have one that she was the highest power we could go to. At the end of the day, we got zero help from Amber, the super power woman and will never purchase another LG product. My advice is to either stay away from this company or read the entire warranty before you purchase.
This unit really fits into the flow of the kitchen. Shelf height is adjustable and easy to accomplish. Very helpful with holidays and entertaining. Great supply of ice, easy to use door dispenser for fast access. Easy to see what is in the ref. even when fully loaded.
I purchased a brand new house not even a year ago. I was beyond excited that NEW LG appliances will be included with the house. Little did I know. My first issue was that the ice machine did not make ice. Next my refrigerator started defrosting all my food in the freezer component. Thankfully I had a full warranty. I was wrong, no one in Customer Service nor executive services wanted to help. They pretty much left me to deal with this issue alone, 4 technicians later my fridge is still not fixed. LG is a horrible company and word has to get out!
LG washer temp-sensor has gone out 4 times in 5 years. I called LG to see if they would comp me for repairs after the first break down. They indicated no, that I did not buy the warranty so they could not help me. I called again after it happened a third time, still no. I bought the washer and dryer back in 2007. The washer has broken 4 times (all same issues) and the dryer once. I will never buy another LG product again.
LG French Door refrigerator. Compressor needed to be replaced. Very poor service from A&E Factory Service. Still waiting to be paid for the food spoiled. This should have been a recall on the compressor before it failed.
I am not a wealthy woman so when I bought the LG fridge I thought it would last a long time (Only replaced because my 14 yr. old fridge died). It is 2.5 years old and it quit on December 24, 2017 (our Christmas dinner sitting in that fridge was ruined). I called their customer service dept., was hung up on the first call; the girl I spoke with last did the smartphone diagnosis which truly is a joke. Said freezer door was open. It wasnt and hadnt been. All the food inside was lost, so we are now trying to make do with a small cooler to keep a few things. Dont know when or if it will be fixed. Bought at Home Depot and Ill tell you neither LG nor Home Depot is going to do anything. I dont know what Im going to do. I dont have the money to replace all the food lost. Its so very frustrating. Ive heard so many complaints since this happened. Wish there was a group lawsuit; Id join in. If you go on Home Depot site, the new customers just love them. Hope they wont have this happen but Im sure now that most will. Wish I could warn anyone whos going to buy one and I hope this helps.
Model LMWS27626S, Production Date was Feb 2021. Bought on March 21, 2021 from Home Depot and was delivered almost a week later. 3 Days ago, noticed water began to accumulate down in the freezer section... Simply put, the fridge stopped working. Just today the technician dispatched by LG showed up and after performing his diagnostics, he told me that both the Main Board and The Compressor are bad and theyll need to be replaced. Imagine a 3 Month Old Appliance from the date of production going bad and to think weve only had this in our home for 4 weeks. This experience just gives me no confidence in the LG Brand at all, yes they are nice on the surface but trash in the inside. Now well be out of a fridge for the next week until the parts arrive. At this point I dont even want to keep this appliance in my home because I know it will break again. Luckily I bought an extended warranty but even so, no amount of warranty will bring the confidence back towards this brand.
Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.
We have a four-year-old LG Dishwasher (LDF6920ST) that caught fire at 2 am in the morning a few weeks ago. Thankfully, our oldest son was awake and heard a loud popping noise that caused him to investigate and we were able to turn the unit off before it burned down our kitchen. The repairman who looked at the unit found that the main circuit board in the door caught fire. It is important to note that the motor has burned in the unit as well. A member of the LG executive team that works on these problems told me that fires happen in all sorts of LG appliances and that they repair the unit! We are completely afraid of this product, based on the many other examples of fires we have read about and we want a refund. Dont buy LG.
Have had this fridge just hit 4.5years. Stopped cooling. Thought the linear compressor was going to be more efficient. Called and they said they would set us up for service. The service company will not be here for 3 weeks. Try to run a house with no refrigerator for 3 weeks. Did notice the company has an ad to hire people in our area. If I hadnt paid so much for this thing I would just get another refrigerator. Sure hope the matching double oven range holds up better.
This LG WM357 OHVA Front Loading Washer is a lemon. Needed repair after approx. 6 months. Weights cracked on drum. Bounced all over the room. Fixed on warranty and broke again within the week. Weve been without a washer since March (five months now) waiting for warranty support to fix it for real or get us a new machine. Very disappointed with the warranty coverage and timeliness of the fix. Choose a different brand.
It took ten repair attempts with incorrect parts ordered due to LG cross-reference system. No refrigerator for 10 weeks with a 9-month-old baby and LG would not replace. Will never purchase another LG product.
I bought this refrigerator at Sears with the extended warranty and after a year I havent noticed it rusting around the ice and water dispenser. Ive called Sears. Ive called LG and Sears flat out says they do not cover rust on their extended warranties and LG doesnt want to hear about it after a year. Ive had plenty of problems with the ice maker. Makes ice until the bin is full and then it tends to freeze up and not eject ice out anymore. 2 things you can take away from this review is not to buy from Sears and do not buy an LG refrigerator.
LGs a good reputable brand that I trust. Have always had positive experiences with both products and service. Has always been reliable in all situations involving my purchase. I like the refrigerators size, range, compartments, brand, durability, reliability, pricing, value for my money, storage capacity, options for model, warranty, ice dispensers, water dispensers. There is nothing I dislike about my refrigerator. Its a great machine and has never caused me any problems with either the product itself or the services.
My problem with this machine, is that Ive never seen a wash machine take so long to wash a load of clothes! If I use the Speedwash feature, which is supposed to be a 35-minute cycle, it will take nearly two hours to wash the clothes. Loads that I know should take longer, like extended soak cycles, stain removal cycles, extra rinse or extended spin cycles, extend the wash cycles into hours and hours. Im dissatisfied with this purchase and I have seen so many complaints that I know I wont get the matter resolved to my satisfaction. I remember when this company went under the brand of GoldStar. I didnt like the look of their appliances back then and they were known as cheap. They must have found a company to re-market and re-brand them, with great looking outside features, but the same crappy inside components.
I purchased this washer (WT4801CW) new in December 2011 from Home Depot. I have been happy with it until just recently when my washer just stopped in the middle of the wash cycle. I tried to push the power button to re-start the load but the display was dead - no lights, no sounds - nothing! The lid was locked and would not open but my husband figured out how to get lid to open. We manually had to wring out all the towels I had in the washer and then dip out all the water. I called LG but all they told me was that since I didnt buy extended warranty they couldnt help me.Apparently the guy I talked to at LG wasnt in the US as he had no idea how to pronounce Louisville and asked me what KY stood for. My husband is quite the repairman and was able to figure out that the fuse on the noise reducer was bad along with having no power on the main Power Control Board. It cost us around $160 to replace these parts and thankfully my husband was able to do all the work himself. LG stands for Lifes Good, but apparently this is a joke on us!
Had issues with knobs - almost got burned. Very expensive stove. Cannot bake in oven. LG company is joke. Called over a two year period - get the runaround. Terrible to deal with. Now we have a stove I cannot use. Paid almost two thousand dollars for it. When we call it’s at least one hour on phone!!! No results. Wish someone could help us. We cannot afford to buy another stove. Don’t buy from LG.
Bought an expensive LG French Door refrigerator back in 2018. In March 2020, it started making a loud grinding fan noise. We called out a technician, who apparently ordered the wrong part. A week later, a different technician came and installed it, apparently not noticing that it was the wrong part. Immediately after he left, we started getting an error code. The only way to get the fridge to still cool is to constantly throw the breaker every hour or so...and today we found out that the new replacement part is on back order and wont come for almost two months. Im mystified why LGs parts are so easy to confuse...before we called the technician, the fridge was at least working. Now its pretty dodgy. Something this expensive shouldnt break within 2 years of purchase...
Bought this LG-fridge (24726S) about 2 yrs. ago at Best Buy. First Problems occurred after one year, now after 2 years fridge doesnt cool (freezer temp at 33°F). Five tries to get LG customer Service failed after waiting time of more than 15 minutes. Worst customer Service. // And: we have the same Problems with our LG fridge in our German home. For sure: never ever again a LG product!!! Where are your made in the USA products???
I own an LG front load washer. It has been problematic since its purchase 3 years ago. It never cleans the clothes. It makes clothes smell awful. I found out others are having the same problem. I wish they give my money back. I used all the recommended treatments, washing machine cleaners (additional expense), emptying its water often (additional inconvenience), leaving the door open when not in use (hit my legs and bruise them), still clothes smell horrible, especially towels seem to absorb this mushy smell. I hope soon I will get rid of it. I missed clean smelling fresh clothes so much. I need to use a ton of drying sheets to suppress the smell. NEVER BUY FRONT LOADING WASHER. I WILL NEVER AGAIN. They do not save water because you have to wash your clothes again and again. Also you need to clean the machine with special cleaners while running it empty. So in the end no water is saved.
Bought 2 LG French door refrigerators in January 2017. Paid about 3 grand each. April 2019 1 of the fridges stopped cooling. Called LG. Repairman came out and said compressor not working. He returned a week later. Replaced compressor. 4 days later not cooling again. Everything melted, water on wood floors. He said motherboard not working. Waited 1 week with a broken fridge and motherboard replaced. 4 days later found water on ground again. Everything melted. Called again and said will change out compressor again. Need to wait 1 week again. 4 days later broken again which is tonight. This should be illegal. Are they going to do this for next couple of yrs until warranty is expired? In meantime we have to suffer with a broken fridge every week? Anyone with suggestions on how to approach? I wrote complaint to BBB also. Now we have to call LG tomorrow to get repairman out again. This will be 4th visit for same problem.
Purchased a new LG top loading washing machine from Home Depot Dec. 2011. The coating on the top of the machine at the bleach dispenser has disintegrated resulting in the metal rusting and flaking off. Occasionally, clothes are coming out with rust stain. I have contacted LG and have gotten no satisfaction from them. I was told the machine is out of warranty and that this is a cosmetic issue and there is nothing LG can do. Home Depots extended warranty also does not cover this problem. Apparently we purchased a washing machine that was not designed to operate and dispense bleach as one of its functions. This is an example of poor design and quality that a major company is not willing to recognize and offer the consumer assistance in correcting. We can get some comfort in the 10 year warranty on drive motor even though the machine wont last that long. Needless to say we will not purchase another LG product.
Ours has the freezer on the bottom with a single door for the refrigerator on top. We love this layout as it is easy to see what is in both. The clear glass shelves also help in this. It is easily big enough for us and will hold the large amounts of food when we cook in advance. The door shelves are big enough to hold 2 liter bottles as well as many smaller bottles.
I really like this microwave. It is great because it allows you to easily set the microwave to multiple power settings and times intuitively. Many microwaves that I see do not allow this, or only in limited capacities.
I purchased a front loading LG washer dryer combo with pedestals (Model WM3670HWA) at Lowes with extended coverage in late 2016. Multiple issues. Mainly UE ERROR CODE most all the time. Its not overfilled or a small load. Continued get worse. There is NO SPIN ONLY OPTION so the washer will wash forever, hours trying to spin out. At times I will have to set it through 5 or 6 other cycles till maybe finally spin out. This is insane. Clothes seem dingy, washer dispenser not completely emptying. Some water from leak at one corner at times. You can wash one load for hours. Using water and electricity. Service coming again. Not sure if its barrings or computer board on the UE error, other issues unknown. Dont waste your money on LG. Had hard time with service. Any finding anyone knows anything.
In 2013 we purchased the set of LG washer/dryer from a well-known appliance outlet chain. Earlier this year (2015) we noticed the washing machine started leaking. In fact, water was leaking out from the bottom of the machine and collecting in the drain pan. We immediately contacted the store we purchased it from who informed us that our warranty had expired, and they would have to charge us x-amount of dollars to troubleshoot. Instead we did some extensive research on the LG machines, only to find tons of video complaints from other angry and frustrated consumers. The leakage seems to be consistent with many other complaints. The detergent dispenser tray slot has mildew build up behind the tray itself. The bleach dispenser tray is rusting... what the heck.We finally pulled the back of the cover off to notice the water was pouring out the back of the machine during the rinse cycle. Basically $700.00 put the window... and this is the top loader extra capacity washer without the middle agitation piece. Newsflash, another service tech shared that your clothes arent even getting as clean as they should without the agitator piece in the machine which helps move the clothes around. Technology... you have to wonder. LG knows these issues exist and still push out these poor performing products. Sad. I am definitely in on a class action suit... lets band together and get it started. Conyers, Ga angry and disappointed.
I have a 2 year old LG French door, bottom freezer LG stainless steel refrigerator. The refrigerator portion has stopped working. I have contacted 3 appliance repair companies that are LG certified. The air duct assembly that pushes the air to the refrigerator from the freezer is not available through LG. It is stating a 3 month back order. Appliance repair advisers stated that most often LG just discontinues parts if they have been on back order for a period of time. I have a 2 year old $2000 refrigerator that LG is unable to service. Every repairman that I have spoke to has stated never to buy from this company as they do not back their products or provide parts for repairs that are accessible in a timely manner. WARNING!!! DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES. They are unable to provide adequate service and repair. SAVE YOURSELF $1000S OF DOLLARS. BUY AMERICAN.
We purchased our LG top loading washing machine back in 2010 from Sears. Almost from the beginning, we were experiencing some very high speed spinning products. After numerous complaints that never amounted to anything, last year 2013 LG sent a notice about reprogramming their computer system in this machine. That changed all the settings, times, etc but did nothing to the UE message we were receiving on the machine which meant an uneven load. Two weeks ago, Nov. 6th, 2014, a new stator for the motor was shipped to us by LG to be installed free of charge by Sears and that did not fix the UE problem.Yesterday 11/25/14, the same Sears technician came to the house and told us we needed to change a sensor and the clutch assembly at a cost to us of $703.20. Today, 11/26/14, I contacted LG and they told me it was not their problem. And I told them I would get an attorney and they said go ahead. I will never purchases another LG product again because they do not stand by their product especially when they are wrong.
I bought my LG Top Load Washer 5101 in March. Within a few days, I noticed scratches on the lid. I have no kids, no cats, nothing rough that I put on the lid. I called LG and they acted surprised that such a thing could happen. I asked for a new lid but they refused. So I returned the machine to Best Buy and got another one (I really liked how it cleaned). Its now August and even though Ive been super careful and have only put a plastic laundry basket on the lid, the strip closest to the glass has scratches all over it (and no, I dont have any mice).I was going to buy the matching dryer but now hesitate. I would love to be in contact with the woman who said her problems were cosmetic, too.
My husband and I bought this dishwasher last May 2015 NEW with the fridge and stove. This dishwasher is probably the worst dishwasher ever!! Its the model with the 3rd rack, sounds convenient right? Wrong!!! It sucks, yes I can put knives and silverware on the top row but it leaves very little space for your glasses. So any glass taller than 6 inches does not fit!! Which means they have to take up space on the bottom rack or Im forced to hand wash! Now the bottom row... The lines that are suppose to hold the dishes do not stay standing up. The silverware basket is in three sections that is suppose to lock to together, it falls apart if you just put a fork in it. The large bottom rolling basket is constantly coming off the tracks! It takes 2 1/2 hours to run a normal load and an hour to run a quick load. The quick load does do a good job and usually have to rewash items. I hate this dishwasher and the only place it belongs is in the trash dump! WARNING DO NOT BUY IT!!!
I bought my refrigerator 5 years ago to come home to leaking water and a warm refrigerator. I was on long holds with the LG department. They scanned the refrigerator telling me nothing is wrong, to just unplug it and call back. I called back. Was hung up on 3 times. Given repair companies that were not open not in my service area. I found someone to look at the refrigerator and was told it is a compressor issue. I paid over 3000 for a refrigerator that didnt last 3 years. Im very dissatisfied with this product and customer service. I will never buy another LG product. They know these refrigerators have this issue and they are doing nothing to fix it. Same type of compressor is being used to fix the problem which may occur again.
Weve had this washer for about 2 years now and it is a terrible machine (the model is WM2050CW). When I wash shirts (4 or 5), I get soap stains on the shirts. The shirts have developed little pills (I do small loads at a time). If we dont keep the door open at all times we get a smell from the washer. It uses such little water I cant see how clothes could possibly be clean. We bought this at a Sears Outlet store. The washer and dryer were returned by a customer and we know now why. These were issues with the washer right from the start, but its just getting worse (and more and more frustrating). I wish wed bought a cheap top load washer. It takes forever to do a load of laundry and while it uses less water, it takes twice as much electricity. I thought it only fair to alert you to our dissatisfaction before we start to share with others. We had only heard good things about LG, but we will never buy another LG product, and we will urge anyone that will listen not to either.
We bought a LG side by side refrigerator 7/22/2015. It is now 7/3/2019 and the freezer and refrigerator are dead. Based on all the reviews I have read it is the compressor and it might take LG 10 days to 2 weeks to have someone come and check it out and then another 2 weeks waiting on parts. I think we will just throw it out on the street. we transferred all the still frozen things to a 19 year old Amana that is still running while the 4 year old LG junk is dead. We will never by another LG product
I thought I made a good deal on my washer top loader but it was just awful. Ive been with a washer that Sears has replaced practically every part on washer. The brand is a horrible gone wrong. Sears should of replaced on the 3rd time washer broke down and I should of given a new washer with a better brand for washer? Defect with time? Im a customer over 45 years and I shouldnt have been taken care of.
Our LG Tromm Washer Machine has a rectangular area with a lid and this is where you pour your detergent. It collects black mold constantly and only part of it comes out to clean. That part being a small piece which holds the softener and bleach. I even keep it open at all times so air can hit it and it still gets quite moldy. Also, it needs to be drained every now and then as well at bottom of machine. Dryer DOES NOT dry loads at all. I have to dry numerous times, both large and small load, even using the appropriate dry choices. Probably spent more on electricity than what I should have been with these supposedly more efficient machines. I have been unhappy for almost 7 years with these machines.
I have the same problem with the moldy smell. I had a service guy in today and I am going to follow his advise and see what happens. The washer is already smelling better! His advise; First, he adjusted the front feet so the machine sloped slightly back so the front gasket drains fully, then he showed me how to drain the washer by using the dials (no one explained this to me!). Turn on machine, dont touch the main dial, go to spin speed button and press it. Display should read 13 minutes, then start washer. This will completely drain any standing water! Good luck **. He also recommended to use half a cup dish washing detergent in the drum, wash on full hot cycle. Do this at your own discretion, I am trying this tonight!
I purchased from Home Depot the LG front loading washing machine model # MW2050CW in April 2011 so this product is only 7 years old. It started making a loud grinding noise in the spin cycle, so I called LG directly to see what I should do. Someone from their technical department asked me to start the spin cycle so he could hear the noise. He quickly diagnosed it as bad bearings. Since the machine was out of warranty, I was transferred to a different department, thinking I was still talking with LG. I was talking to Assurant Warranty, who LG uses to provide repair service when their appliance is out of warranty. However, I wasnt informed that I was no longer working with LG which I believe is very deceptive. I signed a repair contract for 3 payments of $95 each on Sept 28, 2017 to begin the repair. A local repair company called Authorized Appliance (would not recommend them either) sent a technician on Oct 2nd. He also turned on the spin cycle, listened to the noise and confirmed what LG had told me over the phone was bad bearings. He performed his diagnosis in 10 minutes. Within 2 weeks, I received a call from the warranty service stating they had received the technicians diagnosis and authorized the repair. On Oct 28, 2017 the second payment of $95 was charged to my credit card. Early in November, I called the repair company to be told they were still waiting on 1 more part to be delivered which was the drum for the washer. On Nov 13, I called the warranty company to hear from them what the delay in fixing my machine was all about. They were unable to reach the repair company due to a large volume of morning calls and asked me to try them later in the afternoon, but assured me they were staying on top of this. I finally reached the repair company on Nov 21st only to be told that Assurant had canceled the drum order because it was no longer available. The drum has a lifetime warranty and to be told the part isnt available on a 7 year old washer is completely a rip off by LG. During the same phone call with the repair company, they told me that Assurant informed me of the decision on Nov 2nd and had already refunded me and that I had cashed the check. Both were lies so now I know Im really getting the run-around. At this point, I called LG directly twice, and spoke to a final person who said my complaint was being directed to the special customer service department of LG for a decision. I was told that I would hear back from them within 3 to 5 business days. I confirmed that Wed, Nov 29th was the last day I would hear from them. That was yesterday!! I will call them today and demand some answers how they are going to correct this problem. By the way, I was charged $100 (which will not be refunded) for the 10 minute service call. DO NOT BUY A PRODUCT FROM LG ELECTRONICS, INC.
Bought this Washer sometime in 2011 and since about 2 months after we bought it, it has a mold build up around the front gasket! Called LG and they said you have to clean the front gasket and keep it clear every few days or after a few loads as it blocks the drain. We started cleaning the front gasket and kept using the clean drum feature with bleach and still kept building up MOLD. Now I see that other people are having the same problem as me. Thanks LG. Will NEVER buy a LG product again.
We bought our LG Refrigerator on May 2018 from Jetson in Stuart, FL and it stop cooling on December 30th 2021. An LG technician came in and told me he had bad news for me, he could not work in the unit due to Sulfur Contamination and his company advised him not to fix the unit. When I asked him, what could cause such contamination, he said it is because the Chinese Drywalls. Our refrigerator Model #LSXS26366D is in the list of defective linear compressors in the LG Class Action Lawsuit. Our previous refrigerator was plugged in the same area for 13 years and never had a problem. We moved the old refrigerator to the garage, and it is still working under heat and humidity in a Florida garage. Our Air condition company certified that all our lines are clean with no contamination. All the appliances in our house are working properly, including our LG Washer and Dryer.Today I called a specialized company in the Chinese drywall detection and they never heard of a refrigerator failing due to Chinese drywalls. This is not possible. Also, they mentioned that a Technician cant diagnose a contamination without testing the particles. I work in a power plant company in Florida and all the Engineers stated that the compressor is in a sealed environment with no co-relation to the outside elements. I have called the LG Customer Service multiple times requesting a written service call invoice as the Technician did not leave a written diagnose. LG refused to produce the document and the customer service rep hanged up on me.The second customer service told me to call a third-party repair company a pay out of my pocket. Today another rep offered 20% rebate on a new purchase. Again, the refrigerator is three years old and under warranty for five years under a Class Action Settlement for this Unit. There is no proof and no explanation on writing of the cause of failure. Yesterday we called again, and the customer service rep said that our refrigerator is irreparable. She transferred us to a Supervisor by the name Arthur, we request a diagnose on writing and he said not to be allowed to send emails and he will send a request a copy of the service call. Please help us to receive repair for our fridge under warranty. Thank you.
I purchased an over the counter microwave, Model LMV1680WW. This was purchased less than seven months ago. First, the light on the bottom goes out then, the microwave just stops working. Now without a sales receipt, no warranty service. I know that they can tell when the unit was manufactured from the serial number but no receipt, no warranty. Ill never purchase another product from LG, no matter what it is. Its a shame, as I was going to upgrade to stainless after the new year.
My LG refrigerator LFC23760SW started breaking after a few months of normal use (we dont have any children at home), just my husband and I and we take care of our things. Purchased in 2009 and the problems with this piece of expensive junk (which cost around $2000) started fairly soon. All the shelves have literately fallen apart. Just placing an item on one of the main shelves caused it to break on both sides so I had to remove it. Now we have almost no shelves left in this horrible excuse for an appliance. LG response: They will sell us more shelves of the same quality at the price of $90 per shelf. Never again will I purchase one of their items.
Our LG fridge compressor went out after 3 years, so no cooling/freezing at all. Called LG support and it’s under warranty. They gave 10 repair places that they would pay for the repair. Of the 10, only 2 even serviced my Chicagoland area (not a rural area with very few companies). Of the 2 that did, the earlier either could come out was in a month. So I panicked and called a local spot that could. Over $700. LG will not honor my warranty because I used someone outside of who they approved even though everyone they approved couldn’t come and fix it within a months time. There is a class action lawsuit going on against LG for this exact reason. I’ll never purchase LG again.
I purchased an LG French Door Refrigerator in 2005 and it ran perfectly until 2012 when Sandy destroyed it. In November 2013, I bought another LG French Door Refrigerator model number LG LFX31945ST. The motherboard was replaced in the summer of 2015 and just this morning, the same error codes existed. I guess we can NEVER go away from the house unless we clean out the refrigerator/freezer before leaving because you never know when you would come home to spoiled food. NEVER will buy another LG appliance again.
LG has sent a repair person to repair my refrigerator at no charge for the parts and labor. Thank you LG.
Purchased a LG range model LSB5682 in Dec. 2009 from The Brick with a 5 year extended warranty. Within that period I had 5 service calls - 4 of 5 service calls have been for the control panel stops working. Trans Global comes in and replaces panel and we are fine for a little while. Its gotten to the point where the tech comes in and does not touch the range he just orders the part. Spoke with LG recall department they told me its not normal and they cant do anything about it.Trans Global only does temporary fixes instead of looking at what breaks down the panel unless they know something I dont which brings me to the lemon policy. Its only good for the first 3 years. If I knew this after the first repair I could have bought a new range with the money I have spent feeding my family at restaurants every time it breaks down because I have to wait for the part 3 to 4 weeks. So I guess its another temporary fix till my warranty runs out because Trans Global will not replace it. Thumbs down to The Brick which is Trans Global and LG for letting such companies service their products.
Our first year under warranty, had three repairs. Now, in our second year, not under warranty. We have a repair that will probably exceed $400.00. Our recommendation, do not have LG washers in your possession, even if given to you for free.
