I bought a 4 door LG refrigerator. Its a French door on top with 2 freeze drawers in the bottom. I paid about $50 more to get a counter depth which is fantastic for the space in my modular home with an air vent in front of the space. This model has plenty of space in the refrigerator compartment. It looks like changing the water filter will be easy and convenient. It does have a drawer at the bottom which is nice but it would have been a better design if it would slide out when only one door is open on the refrigerator. You have to have both doors open to utilize the space. The same with the right side drawer that holds produce. You cant get it open all the way before the left edge hits the center strip of the left side French door. I have only had it a month so will have to do another review after 5 years. This LG is a replacement for a 4 1/2 year Samsung that had constant problems with the ice maker freezing up.. I Will never buy Samsung products again. Their Customer Service is atrocious.

I will never again buy LG products! They are horrible to deal with. I was on the phone with them for three days. I was told three different stories by three different people. We bought a refrigerator three years ago. Just now, the compressor went out so I called the company and they told me that it was covered under the warranty. However, they did not tell me that I had to pay for all the other parts, such as freon, etc., to get it running again. As a result, I have to pay over $400 out of pocket to fix this side by side stainless steal fridge, along with the $100 worth of food that I had to throw away! I expect much better service when I paid that much money for a product! I will never buy LG products again!

LG makes great products that are reliable and very durable. They have a great reputation and an amazing staff. Their products allow me to be flexible in what I can do in the kitchen and how I can get it done. The fridge had a sleek anime with a great water filter built into the refrigerator and a multiple setting temperature gauge. The refrigerator also had a great ice maker that allowed us to be flexible. With current technology I would make a self cleaning product in the fridge. I would also make the ice maker larger and more compatible.

We bought all new LG appliances 2 years ago in September. We bought a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a stove and all of the appliances have had some electronic problem or another and have to had to be worked on. The dishwashers electronic panel was replaced but now it does not dry. The stoves electronic brain was replaced, but it does not heat properly. The fridge has had to have its seals replaced. The microwave had to have its brain replaced but they put it in wrong and they crossed the wires while installing it and had to fix that again. We are unhappy with LG appliances and would not buy or recommend an LG product again, as they do not seem to be working properly and we did not get the support we needed to help fix these problems when they first started almost one year to the date of us purchasing them.

I will never purchase another LG product, they are inferior, and the manufacturer doesnt stand behind their product at all! We purchased a French door refrigerator and electric range 4 years ago and we have had nothing but problems. The refrigerator light malfunctioned while still under warranty and could have burnt our house down. Luckily, we were in town and I caught it just as the light cover had melted and warmed up everything in our fridge. The cabinet above the fridge was so hot, we could have cooked eggs in it. The ice maker has always had issues, and the fridge has intermittently frozen our vegetables at will. The manufacturer did replace the light fixture as this was a well-documented problem and I found hundreds of others online with the same melting problem including a few that actually did encounter a fire. The electric oven we purchased has had issues almost from the time the 1-year warranty was up. At times, weve had one or two burners that wouldnt work, and most recently, the start button on the oven doesnt work. We had this repaired a month ago, only to have the same problem the day before Christmas. In calling the repairman back, it will cost us another $400 after the $80 last month to repair this relatively new oven. We arent willing to dump another $400 into this piece of junk, as we have no confidence that it wont go out again soon. What ever happened to quality? LG stinks, and I tell everyone I know not to buy from them!

I bought the whole LG kitchen appliances set for my $20000 new remodeled kitchen 11/2018. By 9/2019, 10 months later, my stovetop looked white from decoloration. I called, they send someone and at 10 months, they called it wear and tear, say WHAT?. My last stove last me 12 yrs and still had a perfect black top. Under warranty, they did not change it. So I ended with a brand new kitchen and all discolored new stove. On 03/2020, 16 months from purchased, the double top burner stopped working and now I am going to have to pay for the repair of the burner, either keep my cooktop all whitish or replace it on 18 months $800 new!!!! LG range. I might just have to kicked it to the curb, count my losses, cry a little and buy AMERICAN. Customer services just keep saying I didnt buy the 5 year warranty. Im very disappointed and I see no end to this.

Me and my husband recently bought a LG fridge. Remind you not cheap $1,000. Bought this frig on Aug 15. Received on Aug 30th 2016 and it is here Sept 9th. My fridge took a crap on Sept 5. Calling the company. Oh rest it by unplugging it or reset coldness inside. Did this 3 days in a row. My food in the fridge is no good. I have kids and a baby here. Called for service. 2-5 business days for a repair company in my town to make a date to come fix it. BS. I want my damn money back plus money for my electric bill to bring in a mini fridge to keep my now rebought food. Im so damn not happy. In my opinion I think its time for a Attorney. I will NOT lose out of $1,000 for a crappy fridge I can not use.

After diligently researching washers, including consulting Consumer Reports
After diligently researching washers, including consulting Consumer Reports, I decided to purchase an LG Tromm washer. Approximately 6.5 years after the purchase, the washer broke, specifically the metal spindle completely cracked from the metal drum. I called an LG endorsed repairman who ordered a new metal drum. Three weeks later, the drum came in but was damaged. He returned it and ordered another one. Two weeks later, the wrong drum was received. Again, he called and verified the part and this time, it took four weeks to arrive. When he went to replace the drum, it wouldnt fit and when he called the company (tech support), they verified that the drum was not the original piece. They also told him (and this was in front of me) that the specific type is no longer manufactured and that my washer would need to be retrofitted to accommodate the new drum type. This would cost more than the washer! I called customer support at LG and was told that they do not accept complaints. I asked what was done when one was sent in and was told that they just collected the complaints. So now, I am left with a broken washer, a pedestal that only fits LG front loaders and no venue to voice my displeasure. I will never purchase from LG again!

Bought LG fridge December 20, 2013... ice maker broke 2015. Now the fridge went Friday, December 13, 2019. Was told by lg customer service to take everything out fridge, defrost for 8 hours, wait 24 to 48 hours so fridge can get cold. Never happened. Did it again second day. Same thing. Not working, error code keeps coming on. They send tech. Charge us $125. Have to get fridge serviced. Another $324... Asked if they can expedite the shipping of motor fan whatever it’s called. Tech Ariel looked at my husband and I like we had two heads. He never tried to contact LG about expediting the part. We told tech we have to think about it. Maybe we should just buy another fridge. Tech was ok and left... like he didn’t care that we living out of two coolers. He Just said ok and left.We called LG about expediting the part again. They were like, We will see. We’ve been out of a fridge since Friday December 13, 2019, it’s Thursday December 19, 2019, LG calls us to tell us we might not get our shipment in till Saturday and maybe get our fridge fix Saturday. All our food has spoiled. No milk. The Christmas ham we bought spoiled as well as all the other good we had in fridge. About $300 in food we bought for Christmas Eve dinner. Let’s put it this way. We were shopping for appliances and there was a good deal for the LG bundle
We were shopping for appliances and there was a good deal for the LG bundle. However, the refrigerator had an irreparable leak in the coil. We’ve had it for about six years, but the average lifespan of a refrigerator should be longer than that. There were several visits by the technicians. Ultimately, what they determined was that it couldn’t be repaired and that they would send us the retro value of the unit based on depreciation. So, we ended up getting a check. The actual sending of the check, once it was mailed and I received it at my home, was very quick. But the process of the first technician’s visit to getting them to say that they were gonna send us a check took probably two to three months. It was a really long, drawn-out process.

My first impression with LG was when they promised to have the refrigerator at my house within two weeks but it took more than six weeks for delivery. I did have some issues with the freezer frosting up. Called customer service. They referred me to a higher department and they seem to be able to rectify my concern. Thank you.Currently whenever the refrigerator compressor goes on the vibration sound is very high. Have checked inside the cabin and all the contents to make sure they were not vibrating it is not it’s the compressor vibrating. I called for a repair and they recommended me to appliance repair in Poughkeepsie New York. I then checked on their ratings. All of the reviews were a one star except for three that were five stars. It also showed that there was two complaints to the Better Business Bureau in the previous six months. I canceled the appointment and spoke to LG about using such a horribly reviewed service. I told them I did not want that repair service in my home.

I bought this washing machine about 4 years ago but did not get the extended warranty. It was wonderful until last week when it flashed UE to indicate an uneven load, but would not unlock the lid so we could rearrange the clothes. I unplugged it to try to reset it and when I plugged it in again it was completely dead and the clothes were still locked inside with a lot of water. The repairman from Sears (where we bought it) said it needed a new control board and the cost of the repair would be $661. We can buy a new machine for not much more so we declined. Going shopping for a new washer. At least he got our clothes out but they smelled like a sewer after they had sat for a week while we waiting for a service appointment.

I purchased my LG DLGX3551 in April 2012. The gas dryer now stops and starts on its own, and freezes when it stops, meaning I need to shut down dryer and start again and it may or may not work. I called LG and they tried to sell me a ~$380 service plan that would cover parts and labor for 1 year. But in the fine print, if the repair person determines it will not be cost effective to repair, they will charge me $100 for the diagnostic work on the dryer and refund the difference. When I asked what would be deemed too expensive to repair I got a whole host of answers from reps basically from, if the dryer parts are not available because the model is too old... but since mine is 4.5 yrs old shouldnt be a problem, to we didnt know how much our parts or services cost, we rely on the repair person to tell us. And no we dont know what parts they carry with them or how much the repair person will charge per hour, and if Im charged another service fee if the repair person doesnt gave the part on hand. Bottom line after I spoke to the supervisor, if the cost exceeds the price I pay, its deemed too expensive. But if it was a $25 part and one trip, theyd make $180 off the deal. So its insurance except they do not want to accept risk. So buyers be aware that their service support is a joke and either yes a local technician you trust or watch some YouTube videos, figure out the problem, order the part and install yourself. Otherwise its better to buy a new dryer by a different manufacturer that is reliable and if they offer a real warranty, read thoroughly to ensure you do not encounter fine print which could make buying a warranty idiotic. Each person on the phone I spoke with at LG was almost not understandable due to language accent, and repeated words from a script. Then the supervisor told me I was lucky they were there for me and spending their time on the phone with me when they dont have to since the unit is out of warranty. No joke thats what I was told. I called local techs and they said they refuse to work with LG warrantied problems too... now I know why. Doing my homework and buying a reputable brand dryer and LG is on the permanent never buy list. What is most disturbing is many people would not have realized their scam of a service warranty they offer is a scam - its unethical and they should be called out on it so no consumers fall for their deceptive practices. Maybe a lawyer can do a class action lawsuit. Im sure there are many unlike me that trusted LG repair warranty would not be rescinded if it exceeded the price of the warranty. My order number below is with a retailer, not LG. Im leaving for verification purposes but this issue is with LG, not the retailer listed on the invoice Ive submitted to this website.

We purchased a LG front load dryer (DLGX2651W) two years ago at Best Buy. Within the first year of owning the dryer the motor began making loud clanging noises and we had to have it replaced (professional repair by a serviceman sent by LG). Now it appears the replacement motor has gone out as the dryer will turn on but wont blow air or turn the drum. The Smart Diagnostics have not been helpful at all as they say the dryer is fine. We contacted LG and they denied our warranty claim, stating that we had to call in the same issue three time in order to get coverage. We are most displeased that this dryer has broken twice in the short time that we have owned it and are very upset at the prospect of having to pay for yet another repair on a dryer that is only two years old. This is not the level of quality or customer service we expect from LG and make me think twice about buying another LG appliance.

Bought a brand new LG French Door Refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot and here I am almost 4 years later and it has completely failed. I had the technician from the local LG authorized repair company and he diagnosed that my evaporator has failed and that between parts and labor it will cost somewhere between $1000 and $1200 to fix this LG French Door Refrigerator. What a total pile of crap. I would expect when paying $2200 for a new LG fridge that it would at least last 10 years or more without a major breakdown. So going by the rule of thumb on when to replace or repair a refrigerator since the repair cost is going to be more than half the cost of a new refrigerator I will be replacing this LG piece of crap with a new refrigerator of some other brand. Also I am now so turned off by LG I will never buy any of their products ever again in my lifetime and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

I have a now ten-year old LMX25964 ST Refrigerator made by LG. It is a French door version with two pullout freezers underneath. It has worked flawlessly with one exception. The hinge wore out on the right side. Theres just a piece of Delrin plastic that rides on the hinge. I started seeing powder from the metal grinding for like two years before I realized what was going on. Maybe I put too much weight on that door. I now store the milk on the solid shelf off the door. It cost me about an hour looking at YouTube to figure out how to fix it and around $20 in parts. The fix process went surprisingly well. I had predicted a disaster. Door came off easily as did the old hinge. I draped a towel in front while the power was off to retain the cool. In the old days we used to put the old fridge out in the garage after the remodel where it cooled beer for 20 more years. Those days are gone. I have a LG washer dryer combo that was very high end at the time of purchase. They have performed perfectly for ten years now. My LG dishwasher went bad two months after the warranty ran out. I took it apart, took one look and put it back together. Whatever I did it must have reset the circuit board or something. Works fine now.

Purchased an LG dishwasher less than 5 months ago. We were doing a kitchen remodel so it has only been used the last month or so. I have never been so dissatisfied by an appliance. The dishwasher is designed poorly (we purchased the unit with the three racks - the top rack being slim and designed for spatulas, knives or small items). There is no correct way to load this machine as all the racks and prongs fall over during the cycle. The dishes are not clean - I hand wash everything before it enters the machine and they are worse when they come out than when they go in. The machine takes over 2 hours to run on a normal wash/dry cycle and the dishes are not dry, they come out saturated. The machine is not dry and requires cleaning after every cycle. The soap spills out of the door and somehow ends up on the outside of the front door. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever used and if I am unable to return it, I will feel criminal giving it away for free. I recommend not trying your luck and going with a different brand. This cost over $800. Awful.

I purchased an LG washing machine model # WT1101CW. Ive hated it since I got it home and started using it (9 months ago). It does wash the clothes fine, but then it attempts to spin dry, and there is the problem. The machine will sense that is out of balance (even just a little bit) and it re-fill the drum with water and agitate trying to balance the load. The clothes only get tied in knots through the agitation process. When it tries to spin dry again, its even worse. By the time the machine has stopped trying to spin dry, your clothes are sopping wet and tied in knots. Average time to wash, AND SPIN DRY a load of clothes, 2 - 4 hours, and several tubs of water (not very water or energy efficient).

We purchased an LG refrigerator; it has French doors and with a bottom freezer. Shortly after it was installed, the freezer started accumulating ice. We had it repaired several times because the electronic circuits were defective, and the problem recurred. LG refuses to take responsibility for the problem even though they have re-designed the circuit board at least ten times. My repairman told me that they have this problem since the refrigerator came to the market. I have paid hundreds of dollars in service calls, and the last time I spoke to their customer service department I was met with complete indifference. I was told that there was nothing they could do for me. Another issue is with this unit is poorly designed; it has a very flimsy hardware for the crisper drawers that keep coming off the rails. That issue was also not acknowledged.

I have been fighting with LG over this French Door refrigerator with its freezer drawer glides breaking three times in three years. Yesterday, the drawer fell completely to pieces and now my icemaker is not working consistently. Ice is building up inside the walls (has been for two years). The freezer doesnt freeze. The list goes on and on. Not only have I been forced to purchase the defective parts three times, the parts are not in stock. If there is no recall or problem with the part, why the shortage? I have gotten nowhere with LG including the supervisors. I believe there is cause for a class action suit to be brought against them over this as there are many others having the same issues. Yet, LG refuses to make good on their product. Today alone, I have found no less than 1,000 others who are also having these same issues. That was with just one Google search. I am certain this product is a manufacturer defective product and needs to be removed from the market. I will never own another LG product again nor purchase another item from Best Buy.

On 10/12/2015 we purchased a 46 LG 30 CF 4 DR Refrigerator from Sears. It was delivered and set up around the 21st of the same month. Once set up we noticed scratches in both doors and a couple weeks later were replaced. Because we were having things completed in kitchen, it was unplugged and not used till the beginning of January 2016 at which point everything was fine with this $3000.00 plus refrigerator. On September 1st we got home from work and opened the refrigerator and noticed that everything in there was hot. So being a holiday weekend, we waited till Monday to call Sears where it was purchased to have a repair person come to fix it. A week later the man came and said it was the compressor and he would have to order the parts. Sounds good until we are told it would be close to three weeks to get the parts. OK so we wait the night before the repair man is to come we call and ask him if he received the compressor as we had not. He calls the parts place and they are having trouble finding the parts and it will be another 3 to 4 weeks to get the part in if they even come in. At this point we have been without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks and have been told it could be another month. So we were so mad that we called LG directly and explained what had happened and was told by a customer service rep if we got our receipt showing when we purchased it they would replace it. Ok on the phone for hours getting everything they need the next day we scan everything to them and are told it is our problem and they will not help us. That was a 1 year and 10 month old item. We explained that it was not used until 4 months after we purchased it. However they did not care. LG has the rudest people that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We also went back to Sears and was told they could not help us either as they have to wait on the parts and they are not sure when they will get them. Ok so you go out and purchase an appliance and it is not to last over 1 year? This is crazy. All the reviews that I have read also say that it is the compressor that is the problem so at this point no one can help any of us with this problem. This does not seem too fair. Also, the stores that are selling the LG products knowing that there are all of these complaints and service calls for the same thing. How can companies still sell these items that only work for a year or two and then tell you you’re on your own. LG is not standing by their products and this is very sad that they are allow to get away with this. If this was a car dealer there would be recalls and the problem would be fixed for free, why is LG allow to get away with this and do this to honest working people. We are asking for help from LG and would appreciate hearing from someone who cares about Customer Service not selling poor products and then telling us they can’t help.

We purchased this refrigerator four years ago. The day after the warranty expired, a capacitor in the fridge burned out and melted a lot of the wiring inside. We paid to have it replaced (LG covered the part, we paid labor). Today the same capacitor burned out, this time actually exploding with enough force that the access door was bent and the unit nearly caught fire. The wiring melted again and there is a black tarry substance all through the unit and across the motherboard. I initiated a live chat session and explained the situation to the rep. I was told to call a repair center nearby and that LG wouldnt cover any portion of the cost. The rep then signed off with, Lifes good! Have a really, really happy New Year! As if adding insults to the fire risk was needed.

Updated on 09/09/2021: Earlier this week, I submitted a review about my 2015 LG electric dryer. Today, after 25 minutes of trying screw extractors and the rubber band trick, an LG approved appliance repairman was able remove the front panel to determine the cause of non-heating heat element. Turns out that that there was an electric wire fire near back left side of dryer. A green wire which allows power to the heating element melted, sparked, and melted part of the neutral white wire next to it and there is black soot on the dryer lid. This could have burned down my home with my family in it! Now, have to have an electrician cut off the burnt part of the wire. But, this could happen again.Original Review: In 2015, I purchased a new washer front loading set, only to have to exchange the dryer for top loading model because front load models silicone collar would stink after each load even though I disinfected it after every load. The dryer has been great, but the heating element or thermostat died this August 2021. Worst of all, the dryer cannot be serviced because the factory installed door panel screws were over tightened. The screw heads cannot be drilled into to remove the screws to replace early expired parts. The dryer is now a nothing but a huge paper weight! Do not buy LG dryers. Contacting residential customer support almost impossible. I will be contacting the media should LG not make this right.

Resolved. Our LG refrigerator lights are now working correctly and shut off
Resolved. Our LG refrigerator lights are now working correctly and shut off when the door is closed. When I first called LG about the problem, They only recommended repair facilities near me to call at my expense. They did not offer to fix the problem. When I talked to the service repairman to set up a visit, he recommended calling a different number to see if LG would take care of it since this was a common problem with many lawsuits about it before. Before I did that, here is what we did. After we figured out that the lights would not go out when the door was closed, creating the high heat inside. (55 degrees). We unplugged the fridge as one could not unscrew the light bulbs because they were extremely hot. When cool, we re-plugged in the fridge and verified that the lights would not go out when the door was closed. In just those few minutes, the bulbs were almost too hot to unscrew. We unscrewed them just enough so they would not come on. We were screwing them in and out for a couple of weeks in order to see inside, and unscrewing them before closing the door. This was a big pain in the neck. I checked several times before calling LG, that they stayed on after closing the door. With the light bulbs unscrewed, we also verified that the beep still went off when the door was left open for a while. With the light bulbs unscrewed, the fridge was now working great for the cold. Probably better than before. I put a thermostat inside to monitor the temperature and it stayed right where I had it set at on the door. I dont know why, but after a couple of weeks unscrewing and screwing the bulbs in and out, I finally decided to remove them and install new light bulbs to see if they would work. I installed the fluorescent ones, the ones with the curlicue tube, 60-watt daylight ones. They worked great, and they went out when the door was closed. WOW, what luck. The fridge has been working well now for about a week, with much better light than the original bulbs, and they go out when the door is closed. They do not get hot at all. For the other issues in the previous post, I can shut the ice maker off manually when the ice bucket is full, and we do not use the water on the door due to the high cost of the filter anyway. We can live with those issues. At least we will not have to buy a new fridge due to the light bulbs not shutting off when the door is closed. Model LRFD22850ST

I finally received the check yesterday. I cannot change the rating. None of this was easy. The way this was handled was completely inappropriate. Nobody should have to go through this when dealing with a refrigerator that was recalled and still under warranty. Wait times of 1-3 hours on the phone. Appointments scheduled and cancelled without any notification or reason. Horrible customer service that nobody deserves for any reason. Im so glad its over. This was extremely stressful and I dont feel like I received enough compensation under the circumstances. What bothers me most is you are still selling these defective refrigerators.

Bought our LG French door refrigerator Sept 2017, July of 2018 our fridge stopped working. Customer service is horrible. With every call we hear that we will get an email in 3 to 5 days and that there is no one to service it in this area so it will take longer for someone to come out. We never receive the emails and have put out 3 calls to them each time we are told we are on the list. After the second week of waiting, our fridge has started cooling again and we are unsure what to make if it. Nervous to use it since we are unsure if it will stop working again and we will be out more food items. With a fridge less than 1 year old that we are still paying for we are truly frustrated! It has now been 3 weeks of waiting and still nothing. Our fridge is under the 1 year warranty but what good does that do if nobody comes to fix it! Buyer beware!

I purchased a DLGX3471V dryer and I have to say, I so regret tossing my perfectly good Kenmore for this piece of junk. It never fails but EVERY load I dry comes out with ripped and torn clothing from catching on the lint tray that no longer fits into the door slot. The plastic breaks apart and catches on the clothes (especially bra straps and tank tops) making them unusable. I have lost a ton of pants and shirts being mangled and ripped by the broken pieces of plastic on the lint tray. I have ordered and replaced the screen twice since it was purchased (3 screens in 4 years). Avoid LG products - hopefully whomever came up with this design no longer works for the company!

Updated on 07/25/2019: I thought I would be coming back here to change my rating. An LG rep contacted me in private conversation on this site after I posted my original review. He promised in writing (sent the transcript to LGs repair website) to fix the problem with no charge. I spent hours of submitting the required pictures, information, and the transcript of the conversation. The rep who spoke with me and reviewed the conversation said that since I was promised a courtesy repair and since I submitted the proof, that an LG rep would be contacting me by phone within the next two days. Instead, I just received an email in my junk mail that THEY COULD NOT APPROVE THE REPAIR. So, my original review stands at one star. It should be lower because they did not follow through on their promise. On my original review, it states Resolution in Progress. SADLY, THEY HAVE NO INTENTION ON RESOLVING THIS. It would have been better for them to turn me down OR NOT OFFER in the first place than promise the courtesy repair and renege. I DIDNT ASK THEM TO FIX IT, I was just writing a review on their product. They offered to fix it. Never again will I buy and LG product. And I will discourage all my friends and acquaintances against it. Dont buy anything LG--there are so many other better brands out there with real customer service!Original review: We purchased an LG refrigerator and almost immediately the covering on the control panel started peeling. Its my fault that I didnt take care of it right away, but it was only cosmetic. At the time, we were in the middle of a military move and had many other things that needed attention. The fridge is only 6 years old, but now the peeling has almost reached the fonts that tell you what your choices are. As it peels, it turns black underneath so once it reaches the wording, we wont be able to read the available choices. The customer service rep says it will be $125.00 to send someone out and they do not sell the required part to customers. Only a technician can bring the part. Cheap product- wont buy again.

I was told by a repairman about two refrigerator brands to buy, saying they have less returns and less repairs. And so, I went with the LG. The refrigerator looks really nice and I was happy with it, but it wasn’t even two years old and it broke twice. I’m very dissatisfied with it. It quit getting cold, and ruined my groceries twice. When it started ruining my food, I thought it was just the food. I didn’t notice it as it took a little while to warm up. And then come to find out it would start melting my ice cream. It was a little over a year when it first went out. I called Lowe’s, where I bought it, and then they turned anything to get it fixed. Then in less than three months, the refrigerator did it again. I called again, and then I had to wait quite some time for the parts to come in.The compressor went out and something else along with it. And so, when they fixed it the second time, they had to redo everything, and put something else in there. LG has a good warranty on certain parts of the refrigerator. But we paid $3,800 for that. Its working now, and it works nicely, but I don’t trust it anymore because it went out twice. I wouldn’t buy another one because of the problems that I had with them.

Purchased brand new suite of stainless steel Kitchen appliance in December
Purchased brand new suite of stainless steel Kitchen appliance in December 2013, including LG French Door refrigerator Model# LFX31925ST/06, Inverter Dishwasher and thankfully NOT an LG wall oven from HHGregg Electronics. While first I must say the salespersons selling these appliance were not very knowledgeable or helpful. For if they were, they NEVER should have recommended LG appliances. This is my first issue. Secondly, the appliances look great and flashy, but the craftsmanship is less than sub-par as experienced on both the refrigerator and the dishwasher (dish dirtier as I refer to it). Had one service call on dishwasher within 6 months of buying, but service never alleviated the actual problem: The dishes do not get clean at even the strongest settings, and it takes over 2 hours on the short cycle. Finally the refrigerator and most of these are all likely deficient, compressor fan freezing, severe loud noises, and drawers breaking in freezer with normal use. MY conclusion (as I will not go into the NIGHTMARE of getting it repaired because this is an ongoing problem that no repair can fix), a consumer RECALL needs to made on these, as many people who are out of warranty are stuck with a 2000-3500.00 refrigerator that is worthless. Also, a CLASS ACTION SUIT SHOULD initiated as there was one against SAMSUNG in 2010, and LG is firmly aware of all these issues. MY hope is that either the US Consumer Bureau or an independent law firm reviews this immediately. Also I thank all those who take the time to place this information online too. If only I had read this BEFORE I purchased units. However I see some of the most recent reviews deal the freezer compressor and the EXTREME headache (not to say loss of food) that this has caused many. Life is NOT GOOD for the buyers of these products, but I am sure IT IS for the stockholders or LG Corporation. MY goal now is to get the seller of these product to REPLACE THEM and not with LG products either.

Do not buy LG Washer WT4801CW! I bought an LG washer and dryer from the Home Depot this past March 3, 2012 with my tax money, thinking that I was getting a top-of-the-line. Well, I was wrong. Within 30 days of my purchase, it just stopped in a middle of a cycle. My clothes got locked in and I immediately called LG. Their response was that was a common known problem that those washers had and I couldnt get a replacement since they had the parts to fix it. So, I had fix-it parts on a brand new washer. So, after five days passed with my clothes still inside the washer, finally, a technician came out. My childrens clothes got damaged. It worked fine. I thought the nightmare was over until again, less than a month that the technician came out, it happened again on 5/4/12. This time, they knew who I was and just sent me to a supervisor. All she could say again was that if they had the parts to fix it, thats what they would do. I am very upset. I have to wait another five days to wash again and till then go to the Laundromat again. I dont know what to do; they will not replace this defective two-month old washing machine.

I have been reading many of the disturbing complaints in this forum regarding the LG washer recall and can only add to the frustration expressed here. My parents purchased one of the models that has been recalled (WT5101HV Serial No. 007KWYP02018), about 18 months ago. The machine was acting up, and they just got the letter about 2 months ago. We called LG and scheduled to have a technician come out, and they did the software patch download. This was a joke! It did not fix the problem, instead it only perpetuated it. Now, instead of the wash load spinning rapidly out of balance.... it spins much more slowly and still out of balance! In addition, the wash and rinse cycles still do not work properly. The machine starts the normal wash cycle, and never drains any of the soapy water! Instead, it keeps adding more and more water (just like before). It only drains all of the dirty soapy water (very slowly) at the end of the Full wash/rinse/and softener cycle. And it never properly spins the wet clothes to remove excess dirty water. This process takes 3 times as long as before, and the clothes never come out totally clean. A simple load can take all day to complete! They are ready to Dump the unit in the ocean! Does anyone know if there is any kind of class action or formal legal group that is trying to get LG to make customers whole?

lmx28988st Refrigerator w/ French Door and two drawer freezer. Two significant issues with major functions!1. Loss use of Freezer! Freezer drawer design is low quality and not durable. Details: Plastic cogs on the drawer track are frail and shear teeth easy. The stack up of the cogs on the rails have excessive tolerance. This combination causes the drawer to easily hop off track and excessive ice build up on door seal and door will not shut. Corrective action: Align better quality cogs with the rails to prevent future door alignment issues. Home band aid: Unplug, defrost freezer, take door off to assist in realignment.2. Loss use of Ice Bin! Ice bin feed components poor assembly quality. Details: The claw components that feed and crush ice have a set screw that will come loose due to low torque and ineffective thread lock substance. This causes the assembly to simply fall apart and render the ice bin useless until repair. Corrective action: Identify the optimal torque and thread lock substance to prevent screw from backing out. Another option would be to capture the assembly so that the screw can not back out from the crusher assembly. Home band aid: If you are able to find all parts, youtube has a few videos that can help with reassembly. Clean the threads of the screw and apply Blue Loctite to prevent from falling out again.

I just wanted people to know black stainless steel appliances especially those from LG might be something you might not want to consider ever purchasing. We are very sorry we did. There are over 2,000 complaints already listed on the internet against LG refrigerators.

We purchased a LG front load washer and dryer few years ago and at the present time we have replaced three pumps and numerous other hoses (Dryer is working fine). As of 1/21/14 the washer again has failed to pump out the water so now I assume I will be buying pump 4! The only good thing is that the serviceman is here so often I no longer have to pay for service calls! I will never buy another LG product and tend to tell everyone I know of the problems I am having with the washer. Hopefully they will get it right soon!

Our refrigerator’s compressor stopped working a little over 3 weeks ago. I have called LG numerous times to try and get an answer to see if they’ll fix. It’s still under warranty. Because of Covid-19, they can’t find any service person in my area. The last person I talked to on the phone told me that because I don’t have my sales receipt that there’s not they can do for me. This fridge was purchased over 9 years ago. And he said “well whatever“ as if he didn’t care to hear my side. Kept talking over me and also my wife who was trying to explain herself. What truly upset us both was the lack of professionalism and the fact that I’ve had to contact lg every time to get an answer. An email was promised last week and. Not until today Monday May 11, 2020 was the email sent after the person I spoke with told me that they would be sending it!!!! Basically I don’t recommend any lg products to anyone. Customer service is located in the Philippines, nothing wrong with that but it’s like they don’t care because they’re not here dealing with our problems. Very disappointing experience for us.

Since purchasing this refrigerator just a few years ago and thinking it would be great only a few months afterwards came the first compressor failure. Having to call customer service somewhere Across the Universe and get in touch with anyone who is willing to come out and fix it was a chore. Apparently most repair places do not want to work with LG because of these issues and their difficulty in compliance. And when they came out and checked it then the compressor took weeks to get there. Each time. This happened at least three more times and I think four because one time they claimed it was something else but three times it has been a compressor failure. So much so that the technician who came recently to the house actually had a compressor on his truck because he said nine times out of 10 the refrigerator has a compressor failure again and again so they are carrying them on their trucks. We have gone weeks and weeks without a refrigerator. I have never in my life had a refrigerator with such poor service. In fact never had to deal with anything with any of my refrigerators until this expensive supposedly excellent refrigerator. I promise I will never again purchase another one of these and I am insisting my husband get in touch with the manufacturers to replace this refrigerator as it has now failed on all counts and MEETS CRITERIA FOR THE LEMON LAW and it is a TOTAL LEMON.***It is impossible to deal with something that is going to ruin your food over and over again and leave you without any recourse until someone gets there again to fix it and you never know when its going to happen. BUT you do know its going to happen and it will happen and probably sooner than later. Debra Asheville NC

The refrigerator stopped working. The motor ran constantly to the point the back lower panel where it is located became overheated. Lost everything there was in the refrigerator and freezer. Have gone without one for over a week. Contacted LG who said they couldnt get someone out to look at it for about 2 weeks. LG said that the limited warranty for certain parts that was for 7 years after we received the unit would not be honored since we did not have a receipt. We never received a receipt since the Home Depot gave us a store credit. We had other things updated prior to getting the credit. The Home Depot put in new Silestone countertops. It took 3 times for them to come back and put the counter on properly. Silestone felt bad for us and told us to get any of their countertops, so we picked out a different color that happened to be their most expensive. Silestone also told us we could have any edging we wanted, no matter what the cost, so we updated our edging to one of the most expensive. Silestone had no problem with any of this. Then we had Home Depot replace on of our bathroom floors. The installer put the floor in just fine, but also broke our toilet and told us sorry and left. We had to go and buy a new toilet ourselves and install it. Home Depot finally paid for the replacement and labor of the new toilet. I called Home Depots corporate office who gave us a store credit of $1500. We used that money to buy the LG French Door refrigerator. Needless to say 4 years later it broke down. I called Home Depot for them to send us a copy of the store credit that was used for the refrigerator. They were not able to find it in the system since I did not know the exact date of purchase. No receipt or paperwork were given to us. Now the contractor for LG will not honor the 7-year limited warranty and we will have to pay for parts and labor to fix the unit. Prior to getting this LG unit, we had a side-by-side GE Profile fridge. It was about 8 years old when it started to give us minor problems, but it still worked. We got the LG fridge since we had this credit and wanted a French Door Fridge without the water and ice like the GE one had. We never expected this LG unit to have such serious problems at only 4 years old. Very disappointed with this issue. If the service call costs too much, this Fridge will be going and we will go with another manufacturer. LG will never be a company we do service with again. Home Depot will also never have our business again with all the problems we have had with the major updates to our house we purchased from them.

I chose LG because of the price and because it was a brand that I knew so thought I wouldnt be disappointed and they were offering delivery which was a plus. The room it provided I could fit a lot of stuff in there and the freezer was also very roomy which is rare unless its the fridge area is smaller which we buy more freezer food the fridge so it was a good thing. But the refrigerator opened a weird way to where it blocked a entry way and didnt fit into the spot originally provided because it was too tall but late at night it would make this noise which was weird. I feel it should have been quieter.

Bought LG dishwasher from Home Depot July 2020. Delivered in 9/2020, due to Covid. Tried to make it work in two of our family homes, multiple calls to service techs. Gave me a repair reference number, which eventually revealed that no LG service tech services in our area, and no local repair was found when LG looked for one. I have a new service number now, and twice they have said it will be 7 to 10 days before I know if I will get a refund. It is still under warranty. Stalling is just unbelievable. One time they said the Power Service Team would decide, now it has been given to Defective Returns Department. I do NOT want another one, if no one can service it even with a warranty.I sent an email to their CEO at LG. If I dont get my refund (sent all paperwork 2 times) I am going to ask consumer media TV people to publicly help me. We still dont have any dishwasher, want our money back to purchase a different one from anyone but LG. My situation sounds like one of another persons review.... That worries me that we wont get a fair solution.

Year 2 the door is rusting inside behind the glass, again not covered, told it was a maintenance problem, the door is getting wet!! Inside!! Also the knobs have melted again, If the oven is in use and I take the knobs off the temperature of the front panel is more than 200 degrees. If you bump the knobs they turn the gas on. I have the extended warranty and still be charged for service and labor. Please tell me what is the purpose of an extended warranty! Model number Lrg3085st. Serial 505mmqhof948. We purchased our LG Electric Range November 2011. The oven was in need of cleaning, so I started the self-cleaning feature as I have done 2 or 3 times previously. The door locked and the cleaning began. When it was done, even after cooling off. The door is still locked shut and the whole control panel is blacked out, rendering the stove top useless as well. There is absolutely nothing working. We checked the breaker and all connections. Everything is in order. So we called our local repair company and they told us that they have had multiple calls about this same issue. My husband called LG and spoke with a couple of people there including a manager. The first person told us that the self-cleaning feature should be used every couple of months to keep it working properly. We told her that it doesnt say that anywhere in the manual. Basically they said, Sorry we cant help you. This is an engineering defect. And should be taken care of by LG. The lady from our repair company said that on some of the ranges, the cook top has cracked because of the heat. We are very disappointed in this company. And will never buy LG products again.

Sounds like my experience mirrors everyone else on here. Had a $2,500 LG fridge, and 2 months after their warranty expired, the fridge and freezer both suddenly stopped working. Called the company and scheduled an authorized repairman to come take a look for $79. He was unable to locate the problem and basically said it was not repairable and that we were out of luck. He offered to try a few things that could possibly fix the problem, but each of those tries would cost a significant amount of money and there was no guarantee. In his words, each of these repair attempts would be like throwing a dart at a dartboard and hoping for a bullseye. Obviously we declined this dartboard method of repair, and now we have to buy a whole new refrigerator. Suffice to say it will not be an LG!! What a piece of absolute garbage. This company should be ashamed of itself.

So I bought an LG Top Loading Washing Machine, Model # WT1101CW in June of 2014. After about 6 weeks the washing machine started getting uneven loads, on small batches, normal-sized batches, even just a table cloth and placemats. This now happens about 60% of the loads, if not more often. It fills with TONS of WATER multiple times in an attempt to balance an already balanced load (I take several minutes now to load the washer to make sure its perfect) and has skyrocketed our water bill. High efficiency my rear end. I was in contact with LG and they said its normal. Normal to have a high efficiency washer raise my water bill by 300%? NO thanks. NEVER buying an LG Washer ever again. Can I please have an old-fashioned, non-energy star washer that just works and cleans and has no computer parts in it?

I purchased an LG WT5001CW top-load washer in March 2011. It now overfills the tub and will not agitate. It will spin out if you put on the spin cycle. It is one of the models with the smart diagnostics,” in which supposedly you can call LG and hold the phone near the machine and they can diagnose the problem with the machine. I called LG’s number for the smart diagnostics service and was asked what error code was displayed. When I told them that no codes were shown, they said they could not run the smart diagnostics program. Apparently, this feature is another of LGs false advertising ploys. They then gave me the name of the repair service in my city. I called this company and was told that they do not service any LG products. I have a relative who has operated an appliance repair business for over 30 years and he told me he will not touch LG products. I have not been happy with the machine since it was new. It runs the motor more than 50% longer than the old non-energy efficient machine it replaced. It may save a little water as at times the clothes have dry spots where they were never in the water. However, water is cheap in my city, but electricity is not cheap. So this machine overall costs more to run than the old machine. I sure wish I had found this site before purchasing this product. I will not buy LG again, that is for certain.

All I can saw is DON’T BUY LG or be prepared for lots of problems. I am afraid with this latest noise that it could catch fire! Bought an american fridge freezer on Aug 1st 2014. From delivery the appliance didnt work. Phone lg. An engineer came out, had a look and said it needs a new circuit board which would take a week to come. So waited a week and nothing. So I rang lg. Ohhh very sorry, forgot to order the part. We will order it now, which will take a week. Yep another week. So a week has passed and engineer turned up this morning with the part, only to find that its the incorrect circuit board. Absolutely fuming isnt the word. So rang lg, and they have given me a code to take to the store where I bought it from for it to be replaced. So I did, only to be told that lg should have replaced it, not them. So I dont even know if and when Im going to get this resolved.

So disappointed in this product and customer service! My husband and I built a house in 2017. Bought all of our appliances range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator all in a bundle from Lowe’s in Bedford, IN. So elated about having a new house with all new appliances! My elation quickly turned in to total frustration! Only after 14 months of use the compressor went out. Let me repeat that AFTER 14 MONTHS! After several phone calls to the store, the customer info center the Lowe’s Extended Protection number. No one I spoke with could give us the same answers to any of our questions. It took weeks to get a service rep to even look at it and when he finally arrives and determined the compressor was bad he had no replacement with him. Had to be ordered which took awhile to arrive, a few more weeks before they could come back to install the new one. Only after cancelling and having to reschedule that appointment in which I had to miss work to be available to let him in to service the refrigerator. A loaner was offered at one point in time but I was told that could take a week to deliver not knowing that the replacement part would not be available on the first visit I declined. Was also told by one representative that we could just replace the refrigerator then only to be told by another that was not the case. I wrote down all the names of every one I spoke with and even had each one send me our dictated conversation in e-mail. They would not stand by their word. Never could I get a manager on the phone. Was always told that Customer Service does not have one. Most call centers operate off of a 3 tier system so I found it hard to believe that one. It took a total of 12 weeks to have the issue fixed Missed days at work, food loss, all the phone calls and time spent talking on the phone and getting no real answers. Was told at one point we could use a local repair man and the Extended Protection Plan that we purchased would cover the cost only to be told by someone else that it would NOT and if we chose that route it would void the EPP all together. Could had it fixed in 2 days as opposed to 12 weeks. The whole reason I am writing this review today is because after going through all of this our freezer isn’t defrosting correctly and therefore the ice maker isn’t working, the food in the freezer is barely frozen. The temp is set on minus 4 but the thermometer has placed on the inside barely reads 32 degrees. Here we go again!!!! So disheartening to spend so much money that you work so hard for on a product and to be so disappointed by it and the customer service that you have to deal with. Our two month old LG Microwave Oven Model LCS1112ST bit the dust yesterday and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. After jumping through all the hoops sending them a receipt, proof of damage, etc., I was expecting my $ back since it had a one year warranty. I received an e-mail saying in order to process my claim, I had to buy another LG microwave before they would consider any refund. Completely unsatisfied with this nonsense, I called and spoke to a gentleman that passed me on to supposedly the supervisor. She said that we were to send a letter explaining why we bought a GE microwave instead of an LG microwave along with additional documentation. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!!

Don’t buy an LG refrigerator in Anchorage, Alaska! No service company in Anchorage will do LG sealed system warranty work. When our 5.5 year old LG refrigerator (model LFX21976) stopped cooling and freezing, we called an Anchorage technician to come check it. He determined that it had a compressor failure which is a sealed system issue a warranty item. He called LG to establish a claim. The LG contact ran through a diagnostic and told our tech to first replace the inverter control (not a warranty item). Our tech refused, telling LG that he was not going to charge us for work that he knew was not the problem. He persuaded the LG contact to record our claim as a sealed system (compressor) issue. Our techs company refuses to do sealed system warranty work for LG.When we called LG to confirm the warranty repair and find out who would do LG warranty work, we were given 3 names. One was the company we originally contacted. The second advised that they too will not do LG sealed system warranty work. Only the third, located in Palmer, AK, would do the work. He charges a $35 travel fee for the hour drive to Anchorage. Having no choice, we made an appointment. He confirmed the sealed system compressor problem. Because we would be traveling, he took our refrigerator to his shop so he could work on it there when the part arrived. We expected the work to be completed when we returned. When he contacted LG to have the part shipped, he was told to replace the inverter board and main PCB not warranty items. He did this work without contacting us. He said he had to go with what LG said even though he and LG had both been told that the inverter board and main PCB were both functioning correctly. When we returned, the Palmer tech said, Good news. It wasn’t what he thought and it did not cost as much as the warranty work would have. It did cost $438.95. He brought our refrigerator back in a few days but advised not to plug it in until the next day so the fluids could settle. We plugged it in; it did not cool or freeze. The same problem we originally reported. When he came back several days later, he concluded that it really was a sealed system compressor problem. It then took more than two weeks to get the part. He did the repair. The refrigerator again works. But the warranty only covers the part, not the $450 labor. We were without use of our refrigerator for two months and paid for unnecessary work. A 5.5 year old refrigerator should not fail! Based on other reviews maybe we were lucky to have it work that long! But the lack of service companies willing to do LG warranty work is reason not to buy an LG refrigerator in Anchorage, Alaska.

We had purchased a LG 3 door refrigerator in 2014 month of October, yesterday it stopped cooling or making ice. We called the number listed on the refrigerator. Got a automated system that sent us a text message to troubleshoot the problem. We did exa5 as was given in the text. Waited 24 hours, woke up this morning and that refrigerator was still not cooling or made any ice. Called LG back. Spoke with one of their service representatives who informed me what I already knew that if it was my compressor I have a 10 year warranty on this part but I would have to pay a service call charge and a labour charges if it was the compressor. The charges were as follows. 125.00 for the service call and if compressor labour is 250.00. Researching online I found that there a class action lawsuit against them for this issue. They have known about this and have kept continuing to sell these refrigerators with this issue. Also while researching I found out that this happens after 5 years and my extended warranty has expired. This is not right. I asked the representative about my food loss and he state to me after I had this repair done to call back and speak to a customer service representative and they would give me a compensation for my food loss but I needed receipts for the food I had in my refrigerator. I asked him who keeps their receipts and he brushed it off by stating call after the repair is complete and speak to the food loss department. I have a receipt but it wont let me upload. LG Wave Force HE machine, True Balance Anti-Vibration System, Inverter Direct Drive - bought about 18 mo. ago. First thing company did was sent me a check returning my warranty $$. I paid extra for 5-yr. added warranty. Have fought this machine since day 1 with finishing a cycle without the UE error coming on. I have king beds so our linens are larger but I do not overload. If anything, I underload to avoid the unbalancing of the tub. I even put the spin on medium in attempt to be easier on the machine. I am so sick of this thing!! I am going to sell it to the highest bidder on a Swip Swap page and hope they have better luck with it. Worst machine EVER! Seriously. It shakes so hard I am surprised there isnt a hole in the wall. We bought an LG appliance package from Best Buy for our new house in 2015. Two years after, the refrigerator quit cooling and cost $600 to fix. We had no refrigerator for 2 weeks while waiting for repairmen to come out and then to order a part and return to fix it. Repairman told us the part he fixed had failed on many refrigerators - evidently a problem with the part. Four years after purchase, the dishwasher developed a drain problem and had to be fixed twice. This was $400 to fix, plus we had to do without the dishwasher for a total of about a monthI spent at least 30 minutes on the phone to Customer Service and spoke to “Corey” in executive services. He was unsympathetic and not inclined to help me at all. He offered no relief or compensation. He actually told me the new electronic appliances are not made to last. Very frustrating and disappointing. There are only two of us in the house, we are senior citizens, on fixed incomes, and we don’t abuse our appliances. Very frustrating.

The water dispenser worked fine, but the icemaker did not. A call went out to the service department and a technician came to fix the problem yesterday. Well, he replaced the motherboard and a fan at the back of the freezer. A brand new refrigerator needs to have these items replaced already??? Long story short, this morning, we woke up to a mess in the refrigerator/freezer because everything had melted. Neither the refrigerator nor freezer is working. Of course, service is closed on the weekends. So now, I have a $3000 storage box sitting in my kitchen with a houseful of guests arriving in a few days. My concern is after reading about all these problems reported on this website, we will be faced with continuous problems in the future (especially after the product goes off warranty!!!). LG... Life Good?? In my opinion, I think not if you own one of their refrigerators. Sorry to say. I am hopeful that this problem will be resolved, but after reading post after post about these same issues, I am not holding my breath. :(

I will never buy an LG washing machine again. They are the worst. Two different internal parts broke and LG would not cover it, plus they hung up on me three times. Total cost for both parts to fix was $310, installed by another company not affiliated with LG.

The sour smell. I have run hot water runs in it but it still makes your cloths stink. The money we spent on towels and clothing. You have to buy them every 3 month. But I see I have the same problem as every one else. So what can we do about it? I want some help!

I purchased by LG refrigerator from Home Depot in September 2018. Waited for delivery, all seemed fine. About 6 weeks later the door alarm started going off for no reason. Called LG customer service at 10 p.m. They cant help me, I have to call Home Depot! Called Home Depot. They hooked me up with repair service because its under warranty. However, they cant come out to look at it for over a week! Guess Ill have to wait and hear a door chime every 30 seconds and my Led light on all the time for a week!!! Ok, can do that. Now my water dispenser wont work, disconnected the water supply so that wont cause a problem. Ok can deal with that. Today, just 5 more days to technician time. Now the refrigerator is freezing my refrigerator drawer food and melting everything else. Contacted LG customer support and told them my story, they responded with THANK YOU. REALLY thank you for what, your crappy customer service!! NEVER WILL BUY LG AGAIN!!!

I read the reviews before purchasing this product (LG Refrigerator Model LFX25976ST) and an LG Stove about 4 years ago. There were no negative comments. Now when you look for reviews on both my products, it appears that everyone is having the same problems with the middle burner not lighting and the ice maker freezing up. It seems as though LG has discontinued both products; probably because they not good appliances. Read reviews every thirty days and make sure you get everything and anything fixed if you purchase this product again, because they will not help after that. They want to charge me $ 200.00 to come out and check, while the dealer they recommend only charges $ 100.00. Uh, this is not right! I guess I have to go back to GE appliances!
