Purchased a new $2K+ LG refrigerator 4 years ago as part of an entire kitchen suite. The compressor (sealed system) failed, and while the labor wasnt covered under warranty, the parts to repair the refrigerator was covered. I had a LG certified technician make 5 separate visits trying to repair my refrigerator and it was never fixed. It simply will not cool anything in both the refrigerator and freezer. Thus, Ive had to go out and purchase a new refrigerator at my expense. Ive tried to go through the LG process whereby they would consider replacing or reimbursing my refrigerator. They have continued to deny my request, thus the reason Ive been forced to purchase a new refrigerator to replace my LG unit that was barely 4 years old. I will never purchase another LG appliance as they do not stand by their products.

I have to re-adjust the load twice per load, minimum. Right now, have waited 4 hours for a load. Ive tried all jeans, all sheets, a mix etc. God forbid if you add a pair of jeans or a sweatshirt to lightweight clothes. Trouble finding repairmen as they want no part of LG. Going back to dumb washer. Thought it was me until I found this site. Stay away.

I purchased an LG refrigerator. It was the four model. I took it home and it didn’t work. LG sent out a tech. The tech broke it even more. I told LG to send out somebody from a different company. A guy came out about 10 times. Then I finally told him that I just wanna get rid of it. He got in contact with LG, LG told me to send over a letter with a stamp on it from the inside of the fridge. I mailed that off a couple of days ago and Im just waiting to get my refund. Now, I’ve got a broken fridge sitting inside of my kitchen that I have to somehow dispose of.

I just purchased my LG double oven range one month ago. Cleaned the cooktop as required by manufacturer. Razored off the food stuck on as by manufacturing specs. A stuck on piece of rice being scraped off by the razor provided with the range caused a chip in the glass. The rice and a piece of glass top came off together. LG states this is not covered under warranty and will not repair. Cleaning a stuck on piece of anything should not cause a piece of glass to come off with it. I bought 3 LG appliances at the same time and I will not buy again. I have had a glass cooktop range before. Cleaned it several times the same way never a problem. This range was over $1000. That glass top should be bulletproof as far as I’m concerned.

We purchased an LG washer in July of 2014. I have not liked it from the start - tub is too deep, fills with very little water to wash clothes, feel clothes are not clean. The washer broke on July 30 and repairman from Sears, where we purchased washer and dryer, came the next day. He advised us that valve was broken so water was running in constantly. He told us he would have to order it from South Korea (what?). Not acceptable but he could not order it in U.S. I called Sears Parts and was told they had the part and would send to us. The part arrived on August 3, and the next day two more valves arrived from Texas. I called tech dept but was told our tech had set August 10 for repair and they could not change that!! How screwed up is this? Never purchase LG again nor will I purchase appliances from Sears. Totally disgusted. Tqq.

LG stepped up and covered the repair even though the refrigerator was less than a year out of warranty. Extremely pleased with the response from LG. The repair was prompt and very professional, all completed at no cost. Upgraded from 1 star to 4 stars. Loosing one star due to having to publicly post before the company acted. We love our LG refrigerator and extremely happy that it is now working great again! Thank You LG!

Purchased in 2015 to replace a 10+ year old GE. Worst mistake we ever made was to spend $2700 on an LG 3 French Door model number: LFXS30766S /02. I am going to spare you the long version. After 18 mos the water dispenser stopped working and we were told it was not repairable. We kept using the ice maker but it began to lock up due to ice build up with every filling. We battled that for six months and decided to just turn the water off to the unit. Today - less than 3 years after purchased the unit stopped cooling and we lost most everything in the freezer and refrigerator. What a piece of junk!! We will NEVER EVER EVER buy anything from LG EVER AGAIN!!!

Purchased all new LG appliances and 11.5 months to the day my freezer stopped working. I have had 3 different service companies come to my house all claiming its a different issue. Two weeks ago another company came out and replaced the compressor, it lasted two weeks. I lost most of the food in my freezer and now the refrigerator is holding a balmy 53 degrees. According to the USDA, food stores longer than two hours in temp over 43 should not be consumed. The repair place has to come tomorrow and declare a lemon, but who knows how long it will be before they take care of this, if they ever do. All I can say is NEVER BUY LG products.

I chose LG because of the price and because it was a brand that I knew so thought I wouldnt be disappointed and they were offering delivery which was a plus. The room it provided I could fit a lot of stuff in there and the freezer was also very roomy which is rare unless its the fridge area is smaller which we buy more freezer food the fridge so it was a good thing. But the refrigerator opened a weird way to where it blocked a entry way and didnt fit into the spot originally provided because it was too tall but late at night it would make this noise which was weird. I feel it should have been quieter.

My new fridge (LG LFX31925SW) looked great. Had the features I wanted at what I thought was a reasonable price $2300. Then crap happened. Within the first year I had two failures. A circuit board failed and the fans for the freezer would get covered with ice and failed. That was covered under warranty. No coverage for lost food. Fast forward 3 years and I had a similar experience as many others described with a failed compressor. $385 service call. When I brought this up at lunch with my co-workers every one of them mentioned having issues with an LG product. Needless to say I would never recommend or purchase an LG product again at any price.

We purchased this dishwasher from Home Depot on 10/20/2014 and we have had problems since purchase. The dishwasher just doesnt clean the dishes. It is a water saver dishwasher but it doesnt have enough water pressure to clean the dishes. After a huge runaround with Customer Service we did receive a full refund but what a hassle. We also have a LG refrigerator which we had to replace the ice maker within a year of purchase. While these products look good on the outside their engineering needs help.

I also had a front load LG dryer which stopped drying the clothes. I had a tech come out only at 5pm on a Friday to tell me my dryer vent needs cleaning! The dryer vent did not need cleaning... the tech just wanted to go home. The dryer actually went on fire and is now out at the curb where all LG appliances should be. In 2012 we purchased an LG French Door refrigerator - the most expensive fridge weve ever had - to update our kitchen appliances. In 2013, the freezer section malfunctioned, food defrosted. Since we had the extended warranty, the freezer problem was repaired, but we still had the loss of food. Several months later, we discovered the food in the refrigerator section was freezing. After trying to adjust the temp according to the manual, we called the warranty insurance & since we have the gadget that is supposed to diagnose the problem, allow parts to come with the service person, had this done. Of course he had to order parts. White refrigerator, a black gasket arrived. More parts ordered. Weeks later, same problem. 2nd technician said 1st repair was not done properly, so more parts. More food loss each time. In March 2014, same problem with food freezing in fridge section. We have been waiting 3 weeks for proper parts (again, wrong color gasket seal sent - so another wait). Also yellow discolorations all over the white door, and neither LG nor the warranty insurance will cover this, as its considered cosmetic. So our nearly $3000 refrigerator is the worst appliance weve ever owned. Have complained to LG, nothing resolved. Can you say LEMON? Needless to say, when warranty coverage is over, appliance will be replaced and NOT with an LG!

LG cleans fairly well, but if dishes sit they get moldy. Its quiet when running. Quiet. Would like to have had the racks designed differently to accommodate more sizes of dishes and glassware. White, plain. The brackets supporting the dishwasher broke within a year so my dishwasher is without the side supports that hold it in place. When the dishwasher door is opened, the racks all slide forward and the lower rack goes off the tracks quite quickly.

Like the other reviews before me, unless I am sitting by the machine, it takes 3 hours + to do one load of wash. We did call LG and they basically said, The warranty was up and you are on your own. I will never purchase another LG product, they are inferior, and the manufacturer doesnt stand behind their product at all! We purchased a French door refrigerator and electric range 4 years ago and we have had nothing but problems. The refrigerator light malfunctioned while still under warranty and could have burnt our house down. Luckily, we were in town and I caught it just as the light cover had melted and warmed up everything in our fridge. The cabinet above the fridge was so hot, we could have cooked eggs in it. The ice maker has always had issues, and the fridge has intermittently frozen our vegetables at will. The manufacturer did replace the light fixture as this was a well-documented problem and I found hundreds of others online with the same melting problem including a few that actually did encounter a fire. The electric oven we purchased has had issues almost from the time the 1-year warranty was up. At times, weve had one or two burners that wouldnt work, and most recently, the start button on the oven doesnt work. We had this repaired a month ago, only to have the same problem the day before Christmas. In calling the repairman back, it will cost us another $400 after the $80 last month to repair this relatively new oven. We arent willing to dump another $400 into this piece of junk, as we have no confidence that it wont go out again soon. What ever happened to quality? LG stinks, and I tell everyone I know not to buy from them!

Bought the side by side April 1, 2015 and compressor is broken as of June 23, 2018 when I noticed water pooling and my ice cream soft. Purchased at Best Buy and they give you an extra yr warranty. The repairmen don’t work on Sundays and Mondays so I have to wait 4 days before my appt. Originally they wanted to schedule me for July 2 which is 1 1/2 wks away. My refrigerator is mildly cool and the freezer has stopped freezing. I paid extra for LG unit which advertised their quiet linear compressor. I am very dissatisfied that the unit broke in 3 yrs. That is ridiculous. I will make sure that I purchase extra warranty for I see more breakdowns in the future. Wished I would have purchased a Whirlpool which is Consumer Reports recommendation. A few of my friends have Whirlpool and no problems.Updated on 06/26/2018: Had the repairman out. I thought it was the linear compressor but it turns out its in the closed system where the freon is connected to the metal coils. He thinks there is a leak. It is only 3 yrs old. This should not be. Another appt has to be set up and a specialist will come to find the leak and put freon in. If they cant fix it, then I get a new refrigerator. This is Best Buy warranty. Today they dont come with a 5 yr warranty. I will also plan on buying extended warranty. Things arent made like they used to when assembly people put it together. My old GE lasted 20 years. That was in the 70s. They purposely design them to break down after ** years.

LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. Bought this and the microwave you can’t see into without a stool. And it’s still hard to see in. LG, you dropped the ball here, learn from those mistakes. NOT recommended.

Back in about June of 2017 my husband and I purchased a new stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. As of today, August 14th, 2020, we have had to purchase a new dishwasher, which we waited about 6 months for the so-called part to come in, which ultimately did not fix the problem. By that time we were so fed up with LG, we said forget and purchased a different brand. Next is our stove, ha! The stainless steel has scratches and the black flat top is terrible looking, oh and the self cleaner is a joke! On to the refrigerator. We have had a technician out 5 times to troubleshoot the ice maker. Today, realized the compressor is now bad and are waiting for a new one to come in. Lastly, the microwave lights stopped working almost immediately. We thought at first it was some kind of energy saver since they would go off and on periodically. Unfortunately, it was yet another defect in our LG bundle of crap. We will NEVER purchase LG products again.

In less than two years it failed after a power outage. We replaced the tiny fuse, deliberately hidden to make repair very difficult, and installed surge protection. A year later, it no longer cools properly, either in fridge or freezer sections, underscored by its inability to make ice. It is very sad since the design itself is good... but the electrical and technical components are not worth it. Buying a new fridge this week, it will NOT be an LG. We used to have an LG microwave oven as well, it was truly odd. The child protective device prohibited basic usage by adults. We also replaced it with another brand.

Two weeks after installing our beautiful new oven in our beautifully remodeled kitchen, we had a graduation party for my son. As I was going to bed that night, the smoke alarms started blaring. The house was filled with black smoke. To make a long story short, my nephew bumped one of the knobs and started a plastic container on fire. All he did was bump the knob and started a fire that easily. Major design flaw. This oven is very dangerous!

We purchased an LG fridge in November. Soon we noticed water puddling on top of the freezer door (bottom freezer model). Then we noticed that the water was freezing on the outside of the ice maker bucket, and that the ice cubes were melting then freezing together. When we used a blowdryer to melt some of the ice so we could remove the ice bucket, the melted water ran out, not from the dispenser as we would expect, but from all the seams in the door. On February 9th, I sent in a repair request. The provider I was given (which took a couple of days to receive) was unprofessional and after giving my address, told me they had no availability in my area and to find someone else and hung up. On February 14th, I received two more service providers contact info. One of them never answered my repeated calls. The other one informed me that they only serviced a neighboring county. Around February 21, I received another service providers contact info, and a service appointment was set up for March 1, between 8 am and noon. I took the morning off work. When the technician had not arrived by 12:30, I called the service provider who said they would contact the technician and get back to me. I was called back in a few minutes and was told the technician was stuck in traffic and would be at my home by 1 pm. At 1:15, he had still not arrived and I called the service again. She said she would call him again and get back to me. This time when she called back, she said he did not answer his phone and she that she left him a voicemail. When he finally showed up, around 2:30, he said that he had been running a little behind. After looking at the ice maker, he told me this was a common problem with this model of fridge and we would need a whole new door, which might or might not fix the problem, and someone would be in touch with me within 24 hours to set up an installation date and time. Nine days later, I got the call and an appointment was scheduled for March 13th, again between 8 am and noon. Again, I took the morning off work. Again, the technician did not arrive till after 2 pm. He did install a new door, said we were all set and left. And now the ice maker does not work at all. So far, Ive missed two days work, dealt with 4 incompetent and unprofessional service providers authorized by LG. Ive read many reviews praising LG products, but frankly all the reviews for their customer service are very negative (wishing we had checked those out and not just the product reviews when we purchased the appliances in November).

I purchased an LG refrigerator less than 2 years ago. Last week the compressor went out. I called LG and raised Cain and they agreed to cover all expenses related to the repair. Today the technician comes out and says I owe 79.95 for the diagnostic visits. I called LG and their customer service rep says yes they will cover the service call. Then the tech says no they wont. So when I speak with the supervisor of customer service he says no they wont cover it. So in spite of the fact that I was told they would cover everything, they will not cover the service call. There is no way I should be out any money on a fridge less than 2 years old. My grandmother had a fridge for 45 years. Today they make pieces of crap and create a revenue stream that end in purchasing another piece of crap. My next fridge will be a Sub Zero. I dont care how much it costs up front. At least you dont have to pump money into them constantly. I had one before this and it lasted 26 years with only one call for the ice maker. LG sucks.

We purchased an LG Fridge for our condo in 2007. We had a problem with it in September 2014. Because it is at our condo out of town there is no LG repair staff anywhere near. The local repair companies are not allowed to purchase parts and in spite of it being off warranty my own attempts to purchase the parts myself were denied. My only option was bring it into the city to have it repaired. I ended up buying a brand new fridge that was definitely not LG but was a brand that is locally serviced. I purchased my front load LG washer in 2013. I have to clean it constantly because it smells like mold all the time. Half the time I’m not sure if my clothes are actually being washed. But this last issue was just the icing on the cake. I put in a load of towels, walked out on my porch to put my dogs out and my roommate came home to find water all over my front stoop, all over the laundry room floor, the bathroom, the hallway and the two bedrooms on the hallway. It was at least 20 to 30 gallons of water all over. LG had the audacity to tell me I could pay for a tech to come out and diagnose the problem and then I could pay for them to fix it. I have about $20,000 in damage I have to take care of. I’m not paying for their machines mechanical breakdown too. So then they said if I send them my original receipt they will open a case and see if they can send me a tech out to repair my machine but they can’t help me with the damage it has caused. Something in this machine is defective and now I have to pay for it. I would never buy anything from LG again and would not recommend anyone purchasing from them either.

I had my LG microwave for three years or so and my wife was cleaning it gently with Windex (to get the grease off of it since it was also a range hood), when it stopped working completely. Be aware, LG and other uncool companies are making products that cannot be cleaned. Its sort of like buying a car that cant be waxed. It pretty much makes you never want to give their lousy company a dime again. I then bought a touch strip from an appliance repair site for cheap and repaired it myself. We now keep it in the garage (its huge!), but at least we didnt lose the whole $1000 investment. There are videos on YouTube that will help you do that. However, my main point is that you should never buy LG products. I know I never will again. I wont even buy parts from them. Thats what they want you to do!

Compressor failure on a 18 month old $3800 LG refrigerator. We purchased what we thought was a top of the line highly rated refrigerator. After less than 18 months the compressor failed. This is not an isolated incident, from my investigation, there are thousands of LG customers with the same problems. There is talk of a class action lawsuit.

We bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and it has already broken. It is no longer covered under warranty. We called three appliance repair companies in our area and all of them said that they won’t service LG refrigerators. We called LG and they sent someone out who said it needs a new compressor which will cost $1600. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a common problem with LG fridges. After only 3 years, our choices are to pay $1600 to fix it or buy a new fridge.

My LG refrigerator was purchased less than 5 years ago and it’s now non-operational. On 6/29/2013, everything was fine. About 12 noon, and returning from our weekly grocery shopping, we discovered that the lighting in the refrigerator was no longer working. We then noticed moisture all around the top of the doors and upon further checking, discovered the refrigerator was no longer working. It is over 80 humid degrees outside and a Saturday. It is our belief that the circuit board needs to be replaced. There were no signs whatsoever that something might be going wrong. It is my understanding that LG refrigerators should only be worked on by an LG trained repair person. We are not very happy.

Our LG fridge stopped working yesterday. Its not even 2 years old. Came home to water on the floor and thawed food in the freezer. We think it is the compressor, not sure. We will be contact LG Canada and I hope they stand by their products. But this is still very inconvenient for us. The time without a fridge and the cost to fix an essentially new fridge. And it was not a cheap fridge to begin with and it stops working before we have even had it 2 years!! Would not recommend this product.

This is regarding open ticket which has been going on since December. Dryer is still under warranty, it was purchased in August. It does not dry correctly, get flow sense and D80 error message. Per LG request, we serviced our exhaust system and checked all the ventilation and house flaps, duck ductwork etc. Twice. Proof can be provided. All is fine on the house side. Error messages happens even with dryer is not connected to the house, which rules out the house. Its a new construction as well. Triangle Appliances has been working on the dryer since then and replaced everything LG has asked them to. Still not working. As of yesterday, Triangle Appliances deemed it unrepairable per their expertise and written proof of that will be provided. LG refuses to replace it and says there is nothing else they can/want to do regarding repairs. LG is under warranty obligation and refusing service. Please forward this to the right department, for resolution or we will be taking legal action. Also, let me add that the only LG technician available in the area (Durham, NC) was incompetent, not professional, rude to my wife and showed up without parts (he did check they were on back order) and blamed us for it. This is why we ended up working with Triangle Appliances, LG approved, and they have been great.

We bought this washing machine from Pacific Sales in March of 2011. I leave the door opened after washing. I dry the inside after each wash! I clean the filter at least once a week. The water coming from the filter is rancid. There is mold continually growing on the inside of the rim of the tank. The machine smells like mold, even a week after using the sanitize function with vinegar. I have called LG so many times I cant even keep track anymore. Each time they say have you called before? Are you kidding? They know my name and number from the number I dial from but dont know that I have called before? This is the worst service I have ever received. Bottom line.. I will never buy anything from LG ever again.

They came, diagnosed compressor issue. They had to order it. It finally came. We called again. Another couple of weeks before they came to install. They said to give it a few days to work. Its still not working and they cant come until Monday -- over two weeks after the new compressor was installed. And now the refrigerator portion is not cooling. Each time we call, they merely say Im sorry. We have been homeowners for over 25 years and have never had appliance issues. DO NOT BUY AN LG!!! I wish I had known. I wont make the mistake again. I am very upset and very frustrated! I bought a full suite of LG kitchen appliances just over 2 years ago from HHGregg and invested in a 5 year (HHGregg premium) warranty to cover all of the appliances. In just 2 short years I am having trouble with all of my appliances and am currently waiting on a service call from HHGregg (whom I will never buy appliances from ever again). Found out today that the HHGregg warranty is not as good as the paper on which it is written! One complaint is the LG microwave oven. It stopped working (the plate will no longer rotate and will not heat up). Apparently, there is a default in the design of the LG microwave ovens that fit over the stove. The heat from the stove causes the microwave system to stop working. LG and HHGregg should replace my malfunctioned microwave oven with one without this flaw! No LG told me to contact HHGregg! HHGregg offered me only a 200.00 store credit! This cost does not replace my microwave! I feel robbed by LG and by HHGregg! Shame on both these companies!!!

Updated on 11/13/2019: Another 2 days have gone by and it is 4 pm and the LG service people have not shown up again. Consumer Affairs keeps say there are holding things up due to the fact they cannot find our refrigerator by the serial number. I would like to take a picture of it, but they don’t tell me where to send it. My husband send a copy of our receipt over a week ago, but that doesn’t seem to be enough! We have been without a refrigerator since October 3rd- guess my next step is The Better Business Bureau. Every day they promise something it it never seems to happen. I lost over $400 in food plus 6 weeks of eating out. My house is up for sale and how do you think a non-working refrigerator looks to people looking at our house! LG Service is the worst.Updated on 11/11/2019: This is a follow up to a previous review.... After 6 weeks without a refrigerator we were scheduled service for the 3rd time, today between 1& 5- took off of work again (they told us this would be a 3 hour repair) and guess what they call us at 1:30 to cancel our appt for today! Will never buy another LG product just because their set ice is so bad!Original Review: On October 3rd, I called for Service on my LG refrigerator- they did some sort of scan from my phone and told me the refrigerator was fine and I must have left the door ajar and that is why things were warm and ice was melting. I was told to unplug my refrigerator for about 15 minutes, plug it back in and keep door closed for at least 6 hours and I should be fine. I went to bed, got up the next morning and everything in my freezer was thawed and refrigerator was warm, so needless to say I had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of food.I called again, they wanted to send a repairman out the following Monday and not before, well we were leaving town Sunday for my son’s wedding. Service was then scheduled for October 18th. When they came on the 18th I was told I needed a new compressor on my 3 year old refrigerator which was still under warranty. But it would take them 10 days to get the parts. Service was set up for October 28th between 8 and 12 and I was told it may take 3 hours, so I took the day off of work.Well, the 28th comes but only 2 of 3 parts had been delivered, so they did not come. Then it was rescheduled for today 10/30, but parts still are not in....after many phone calls and not getting any real answers - we have asked for a new refrigerator they say you have to have 3 service calls for the same complaint or if they can’t get the parts from 30 days after service call. Well even though we called on 10/3, the 30 days starts on 10/18 when the service man actually came to our house. So, apparently we have to wait now til 11/18 if the part doesn’t come in - that is 6 weeks without a refrigerator. I will never buy LG again!

When we built our house in 2006, I specifically requested LG appliances. This was a huge mistake. Within 2 1/2 years, the dishwasher quit working. I went to LGs site and found a repairman. He proceeded to tell me that the motor had burned out and it would be over $300 to repair. LG said that since it was a 2-year warranty, they could not help me. Last year, the temperature control on my range went out. The temp would be set for 350 and within a few minutes, the entire kitchen was filled with smoke because it had scorched everything in the oven. Needless to say, I didnt even bother with a repairman. I simply replaced the stove. At about the same time, the icemaker in the French door refrigerator quit working. After googling troubleshooting recommendations, it would appear that this is defective as well. It would be over $200 to repair but I believe it was mentioned that it would fail again soon so there wasnt any point in replacing it. That leaves the over the range microwave. So far, it is the only thing that hasnt screwed up. I will never purchase nor recommend purchasing another LG appliance.

LG LMX225964 French Door refrigerator - I wish I could rate this product as a minus 100. I have never made a worse appliance purchase and will NEVER buy LG again. This French door refrigerator is less than 6 years old (purchased from BrandsMart) and for the last 1 1/2 years Ive received Error IF every couple of months. This means the ice maker fan is frozen (AGAIN) and I have to remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer, put it in the garage refrigerator, and thaw out the unit. Although this process is reminiscent of an older, simpler time it is more than aggravating. I would replace the ice fan assembly but that part is no longer available and there is no replacement part (so much for making repair parts available for 7 years). LG lost a large class action lawsuit on a number of models having a similar problem, but alas my model was not included. (The law firm that handled that case is Callahan, Thompson, Sherman Caudill LLP, http://ctsclaw.com.) This may be the weekend I finally test-drive the sledgehammer on this poor excuse of a refrigerator.

Jan 2010 the right side bin of the fridge door started to crack so we had to call customer service to get a replacement. We called customer service to help us with this situation but all they told us was that they could not help us because our warranty expired. Now we have to pay for the damages of this fridge with the money in our own pockets when the company could not even build a fridge that can last us more than 2 years. Horrible customer service. We bought an LG front loading washing machine from Sears one year ago. It began making more noise on the spin cycle than a jack hammer, and almost vibrated its way out into the hallway. We called Sears repair for service. That was our second mistake! They sent a repairman only to have him make a list of parts totaling more than the original price of the machine. I asked why they dont just replace the machine and his comment was, We dont replace machines! What a joke! So a week later, an entire pallet of boxes filled with parts shows up at the front door. A few days later, two repairmen showed up to put humpty dumpty back together again. Well, that wasnt going to happen that day because, much to our surprise, the repairman needed more parts to fix the problem. So he ordered more parts and we waited another week for him to show up with his magic wand. I tried to discuss the issue with a manager but none wanted to talk with an actual customer. Imagine that! Its no wonder Sears is struggling to avoid bankruptcy. With nonexistent customer service, poor quality of appliances and zero accountability, the end is certainly coming. I only wish it had happened before we bought our appliances from them. NEVER AGAIN!!

Do not buy LG Washer WT4801CW! I bought an LG washer and dryer from the Home Depot this past March 3, 2012 with my tax money, thinking that I was getting a top-of-the-line. Well, I was wrong. Within 30 days of my purchase, it just stopped in a middle of a cycle. My clothes got locked in and I immediately called LG. Their response was that was a common known problem that those washers had and I couldnt get a replacement since they had the parts to fix it. So, I had fix-it parts on a brand new washer. So, after five days passed with my clothes still inside the washer, finally, a technician came out. My childrens clothes got damaged. It worked fine. I thought the nightmare was over until again, less than a month that the technician came out, it happened again on 5/4/12. This time, they knew who I was and just sent me to a supervisor. All she could say again was that if they had the parts to fix it, thats what they would do. I am very upset. I have to wait another five days to wash again and till then go to the Laundromat again. I dont know what to do; they will not replace this defective two-month old washing machine.

The second time was a compressor which between the repair company and LG suppliers it did not make our Life Good. My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

I bought my LG refrigerator model lfxs30726s in 2014, in August 2015 thats when we start having problems. I lost all my food in the refrigerator and freezer. Again in May of 2017 I lost all my food in my refrigerator and freezer. Its like starting all over again. Replace all your food in the freezer refrigerator. Its tiring and I dont like camping out and buying food everyday. The warranty doesnt pay for your food that you have to buy every day and then what you have to refill your refrigerator and freezer, they only give you a minimum amount of money to refill up your refrigerator and freezer again. Expensive warranty for five years is not going to be enough. I think you need at least 5 years to make it 10 years on my freezer and refrigerator. Good luck...

From the very 1st week I use the machine, clothes never smells fresh. The washing cycles are too long and honestly I dont think it saves me any water. But the worst is the smell. I use softener drying sheets and my clothes smells like mold. My husband hates the smell especially in the towels! I would never recommend a front loader and definitely not an LG brand. I had the worst customer service. Im ready just to take a big loss on this machine. The water pump went out, just 3 months after my service contract had ended figures! Had the pair for only 5 years and already had problems with washer 3 times! I hate it!

They changed the compressor but the freezer and ice maker is not working at all. I lost so far over the 300.00 in food, and I have to purchase food outside every day for the family because I dont have place to keep my food. I spoke with the technician and he doesnt have a clue what is going on. I think that their equipment has manuf issues that needs to be addressed by the company. I need a new refrigerator from them, otherwise I will get a lawyer this week and walk to their office in Englewood and solve my problem one way or other, but I need good equipment. What can I do?

It looks nice. I dont ever use convection. The blue color inside oven is pretty but I can’t put foil on it for unknown reason. When I put foil on the bottom rack to prevent drips from falling to the oven surface I think it interferes with the bottom of pizza or bread getting browned. I use a cooktop cleaner everyday on the glass top. The settings are digital. The light on the stove is blue and the matching microwave light is green. I wish that they were both blue.

I purchased 4 of the LG Studio line for my new kitchen. Gas Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, and refrigerator. 1st use of Dishwasher and it did not clean. Then the items I left in for the next wash, grew BLACK MOLD. There is always moisture in the dishwasher, even day after running it, and I have to leave the door ajar to help it dry. If I shut the door, BLACK MOLD grows. The microwave turntable rattles so loud it can be heard over the normal microwave sounds. The gas stove is often unresponsive. The buttons on the front do not always work and I have had to pull it out from the wall to unplug it and plug it back in to get them to work. It is very random and I have not been able to figure out a pattern of use that causes it to malfunction.I put in 3 service requests to have these repaired. Im entering the 3rd month and they STILL have not been to my home. LG sent this to a 3rd party Vendor AE FACTORY. They have left partial emails telling me to call them and then they do NOT answer their phone. I have spent even more time contacting LG Customer Service, who has done nothing to help. They have no control over their 3rd party repair vendors, and no supervisor will ever get on the phone or call me back. DO yourself a favor, go with a different brand!

We purchased an electric range, model LRE3012ST, on October 27, 2012, a top of the line model electric range. On the second day, we noticed that one burner when turned off did not show the HS indicating the surface was still hot. This is a safety feature to tell the consumer not to go near the burner since its still dangerously hot. We had two service calls over the next four weeks, and the technician would replace circuit boards. In both repairs the problem became worse, meaning other problems occurred besides still having the original issue. After the technician left the second time telling us he would call back when he had new parts, I decided to call Home Depot; and to make a long story short, LG called two days later and said they would deliver a new range. We received the new range on Dec. 22, 2012. And today, January 8, 2013, after having used the oven, we are unable to turn the oven off. The only way to turn it off is to pull the range from the wall and unplug it. My next call very shortly will be to Home Depot and demand they take this range; and I want it replaced with another range, but not an LG. I dont know where this range is made, but I will guess its China or the parts are made in China. And once again, China screws the American consumer.

I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice
I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

I purchased an LG Washing machine 5 years ago. It had a few problems, leaked and the rubber seal on the door always came out after the wire that held it in place rusted (after 2 years). The final straw was after 5 years I had to call for service and after 3 days the LG serviceman finally arrived. Took my washer away after giving me a reasonable quote. The next day LG called to tell me that they did not have the parts for my 5-year-old Washer. So I was forced to buy a new machine. I would expect that a washing machine should last much longer than 5 years and if it needs service that the parts would be available. I will never buy anything else from LG again.

We recently purchased an LG Gas Range. It became apparent early on that there was a serious and significant manufacturing defect with the knobs which could pose a major safety threat to you and your family and home. Basically, if you even lightly brush up against the knobs, they may turn easily in the on position and either ignite a flame unexpectedly or emit gas also unexpectedly. We have had several near misses of people catching on fire and a few gas emissions which last over 30 minutes. I thought once I contacted LG they would immediately take action -- WRONG -- I am absolutely stunned at their response. They told me that they couldnt do anything about it and that I should buy child safety locks for the knobs. My previous gas stove was in the same location for 17 years and NEVER had this problem. We plan to take legal action since several other consumer have experienced the same problem. Shame on LG. They should be put out of business!

What a disappointment!! A few years back my husband and I purchased new LG appliances for the kitchen and also a washer and dryer - all LG products. Paid a PREMIUM price - all the bells and whistles. From day one there has been nothing but headaches with every item we purchased. From the interior finish in the oven flaking (LG and Home Depot would do NOTHING to help us. We had to purchase new range!!), to the microwave falling apart, the drying faulting out and now this horrible washing machine!! Between the mold this machine creates (yes, I leave everything open and wipe it down after each load), not always working correctly (gets confused...) now the drain motor needs to be replaced which has been estimated at $300 parts and labor!!! This is ridiculous!!! What a piece of junk and SHAME on LG and HOME DEPOT for not producing/selling reputable products and standing behind those products!! As you all know, these items are not cheap!

Bought the 4.1 high efficiency top loader on 2/1/14 from Lowes and on 5/15/15 the washer broke. The codes that keep showing up is telling me the problem is with the drain hose. So Ive checked the hose, removed it, bought a new one and still the same code appears. So I took the back off to check if something is blocking the hose and nothing. When the clothes are washing the water will not drain it is aimed into my stationary tubs so I lay it on the floor and the water pours out but doesnt stop so the washer can fill up to actually clean the clothes. Called the 800 number to be told its out of warranty and I need to call a local repair man. Many places dont deal with LG repairs and the ones that do charge $100 just to look at the problem. A total waste of $800 on this item. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASHER.

Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.
