We use Trane HVAC equipment on our job sites at the Company I work for. They are great, we have no complaints about the equipment. I would highly recommend them. We do a lot of work for the Federal Government replacing older units in VA Buildings and Hospitals. On the State side we also install Trane equipment in Schools, Police Stations and Libraries.

I’ve lived in my house for 25 years now. The old ac had been around for about the same time and had gotten slow over time so I had to replace it. I bought York because my son recommended it to me and so far I like how it works. It is so quiet and does not need to stay on for long to cool the house properly so the utility bill also remains at a reasonable figure.

Trane unit cost $4,000 and is continuously breaking down. I bought this Trane home AC system 3 years ago. It stopped working last summer because the oil in the compressor was incorrect from the manufacturer based on the HVAC repair company I bought the unit from. They changed it out and it has worked this season until now. Out of nowhere the unit has frozen up and shut down. My last system was a Comfortmaker and lasted 28 years without any major breakdowns. Can someone tell me exactly what the problem is with TRANE equipment???

Purchased my first Whirlpool refrigerator, model WRF989SDAM00, in 2012. Six service calls later, Whirlpool replaced it with the same exact model. I am now on my 4th service call with the 2nd refrigerator because of dripping ice maker, fan going out in freezer, condensation continually dripping on everything in the refrigerator. Finally, last week, I had enough & wrote certified letters to Whirlpool's corporate offices, the service company they sent out to fix it, which was a nightmare by the way and the Better Business Bureau. I am still without a working refrigerator after two months!!!This is two lemons that Whirlpool has sold me in less than two years and the service has been horribly unacceptable!!! I am at my wits end. Today I wrote to the Attorney General. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy this model refrigerator!! It has been a nightmare!! !

I bought this house that had two XR14 4-1/2 ton Trane Split heat pumps that were installed in 2010. The first major issue was April 2017. The coil in the air handler corroded from dissimilar metal corrosion. $3000 later for a Trane Parent American Standard Air Handler. July 2017 same thing happened. The repair guy put in $400 worth of super seal to get us through so they would not have to replace the other air handler in the attic. Nov 2017 it died. $6500 for an American Standard split Heat pump replacement. Jan 2018 the original Trane Condensing unit GE ECM condensing fan motor failed is been warm so researching why Trane would use a variable speed motor in an application where the whole unit is a single speed and the condensing fan runs at single speed. The main difference (Wholesale $600) vs a $150 + $10 capacitor connected to your T1 & T2 terminals. My AC guy said that the won't get a computer code when the fan fails again. I'm like DUHHHH! The compressor was running and the fan stopped. That's how I know it failed. Why would I need a computer to tell me the P.O.S. TRANE unit has failed. I am not expecting much better out of the American Standard. I am sure they are all made in the same place with different labels slapped on them. I know some of the cheaper brands do the same thing from a rental property where my 12 SEER unit ran for over 20 years. Doesn't Take much to stop a Trane but it sure takes an act of God to get the parts for them.

WARNING - Be sure to register your Rheem Heat Pump. Without registration, you lose 5 years of your 10 year warranty. BETTER YET... DO NOT BUY RHEEM. If I could zero or negative star I would. My installer did not register my unit 7 years ago nor did I. I was not given a registration card to mail in. For the past 4 years, I've had 5 techs here to work on my unit. Made a horrible loud banging noise that would wake us up at night. The blower motor was replaced. See-cell warped fan blade on condenser replaced. Thermostat replaced. Added 2 lb. of freon... All to no avail. Now the compressor is gone.I had AEP out when I got a $400.00 electric bill. They said air was not circulating evenly throughout- kept the unit running continuously. I had to close of 3 rooms to afford my electric bill. I mailed Rheem Corporation a copy of my dated bill, installation date, model #, serial # and copy of my 10 year warranty. Their reply was ... Sorry.. There's no registration recorded, your warranty is gone. So Rheem Corporation is gone for me. My friend also purchased a Rheem heat pump and her unit is having the same problems. DO NOT BUY RHEEM.

Let me start out by saying I'm a HVAC business owner for 24 years and I will no longer be installing Goodman equipment. The reason is that I've needed technical help on a few jobs in the last month and the Tech Desk was the worse I've dealt with out of any manufacturer. They were short, didn't give me many things to try and after I told them what I've already tried, they were like "I don't know". I kept asking them what other things I can try and they just repeated themselves giving me no new things to try. I've always had great help with other Tech help with other brands and they always helped me figure it out. But Goodman Tech help was worthless the 4 times I dealt with them. They all must really hate their job and take it out on the Service people that call in. I've been installing Goodman on and off since it was Janitrol. They were helpful and nice years ago. I haven't had to call in for Tech help in years and man have they changed. The most arrogant, rudest ** I've ever talked to. They all need to be fired and hire new Techs and retrain them. Otherwise this company will fall within 5 years the path they are on. I see many other 1 star reviews on here which means this company's Customer Service sucks. Wake up Goodman and if you can't see all these negative reviews, you people in corporate are the dumbest people on earth and you deserve to fail. If I owned a huge company such as Goodman and I see all these negative reviews, I would do undercover calls and find out who all the filth and garbage is within the company and fire them. A new training regimen must be enacted immediately for customer service. New management must be put in place. Out with the old and in with the new.

We have 5 Trane HVAC units and they are 4-5 years old. They have been the source of consistent leaks stemming from coil problems. The Trane dealer who installed them points at Trane and says it is product quality problems. We lost confidence in the service from our installation Trane dealer and the new Trane dealer is much more honest and transparent to explain that these are manufacturing problems. This dealer's service people say the coils had manufacturing quality problems so Trane changed the material used in the coils and will not acknowledge this problem or face up to the problem with their customers. I have $2,500 of repairs on these Trane units and some house repairs as well. I have written 2 lengthy letters (with all supporting repair bills to support the problems) in May 2012 and one just recently and received no response from Trane, except my wife's persistence reached a Trane employee by phone on the first letter and this employee said Trane would not do anything. I called their Customer Service # a week ago on our 2nd series of problems and waited for over 1 hour with no response and no follow up response from them even though their customer service # takes your information and says they will call back the same or next day. I emailed their Customer Service 3 days ago and no response to that. In short, Trane is a company with serious product quality problems, and per their lack of willingness to service their customers, doesn't value their customers. I would strongly recommend to anyone building a home or replacing your HVAC systems that you not consider Trane.

My husband and I purchased a Trane air conditioner and furnace in 2009. Both came with 10 year warranties on parts. Since we have had both units, each has broken every 2-3 years. The air conditioner broke in June of 2012 on a 90 degree day. The furnace broke in November 2015 on a very cold Michigan winter. June 2017 rolls around more problems with the air conditioner. We are feeling a sense of complacency and BOOM, summer of 2019 and the air conditioner fails us on another 90 degree day. We consult their website and Trane sends their MOST incompetent technician. Moral to the story: Do not buy anything from Trane!

Stay away from Amana!!! Would like to give 0 stars. I work in a hotel and had ordered 5 PTAC units for some of the hotel rooms through a vendor/supplier we deal with. Each of the units came in boxes that were in relatively good shape. When the boxes were opened every yes every unit was damaged one way or another. On every one the condenser support brackets were bent and not attached to where they need to be, bent corners on 3 out of 5, compressor bolts on one unit was cross threaded and stripped, another unit had the compressor bolts and rubber bushings in the pan but the compressor was not bolted to the pan, and lastly a brand new unit that would not turn on (tried in other outlets to no avail). We had another Amana that was approximately 2 weeks old and the unit stopped working. Called Amana and waited 3 weeks for a tech to come and give us a reconditioned unit. Their box states American Pride. Shame on them.
