After getting the SE message on my two-year built-in Samsung microwave, I did some research and saw how someone said to clean the ribbon on the display panel. Well, I was too afraid to mess with the control panel so I placed a service call in. The tech came and I told him what I read so I asked him to remove the ribbon or membrane and then reconnect. Sure enough, the thing started working right away. I spent $100 on service call. So I hope someone else can use this information. So next time, just remove button panel and unplug ribbon membrane and reconnect.
Purchased Samsung 4 door refrigerator and since then we had ice in the beginning it stopped. We called the service once and the ice maker was full. Dont know why it was full and he did a full defrost and left. Since then the ice box was empty. Never made ice. I am very sad.
My experience with Samsung products is varied. I had a great Galaxy 5, but a not so great newer Samsung phone, my Samsung oven works well and looks good, but my Samsung refrigerators double door design is clunky.
We bought our Samsung refrigerator/freezer (model RF217ACRS) approximately 3 years ago. Worked just fine until shortly after purchase, one day noticed the bottom drawer freezer wouldnt close. Upon inspection noticed ice about a half inch thick in bottom under drawers. Chipped it out with an ice pick. Huge pieces of ice! Drawer closed fine once ice removed. Thought it was our fault, since maybe we hadnt shut door properly so didnt worry. This has now kept happening and I chip ice out of the bottom about once a week.Same for vegetable/fruit drawers in fridge. They fill with water (about 1/2 inch) and food was getting soaked/frozen. I ended up buying mats to elevate food in both drawers so they wouldnt get wet! Every week I take out drawers and pour water out. Also, ice/water build up underneath these two drawers too, that I chip/dry out once a week. Usually takes 2 to 3 dish towels to soak up excess water, then I chip away at ice!!! It is a huge pain, but after reading the other reviews here dont feel a service call will do any good. Guess we are stuck with a loser of a fridge/freezer for a few years and doing extra to keep it running and water/ice free. Will never buy Samsung again.Side note: We did not buy the ice maker, so that is not an issue or contributing factor to our problems.
Dishwasher failed after 6 months use. It set idle for one year. The heavy light constantly blinks and the discharge pump constantly runs. Samsung wont warrants the unit and has no tech support available that might be able to diagnose the problem. I purchased a Samsung refrigerator at the same time and have had problems with it as well. It is apparent that it is cheaper to replace the dishwasher with another brand.
Thankfully I bought an extended warranty on my range because the 2nd time I used the self-cleaning mode ON THE DEFAULT SETTING, the control panel melted and the oven door would not open. It took weeks to get the replacement part with Sears Outlet calling and emailing scheduled appointment times that had not been cleared by me. But never mind the repair guy that is employed by Sears told me the part had not showed up on his doorstep yet. However, during 9 different calls over several hours during a 2 month time frame, Sears told me repair guy did not follow protocol so that caused delays. Of course when I told repair guy that he said they always try to pass blame. The 3 times repair guy came to my house he refused to give me any paperwork documenting his repair. He also told me never to use the self-clean mode. What? Why is it there? THEN the oven would not heat up to temperature, actually would only get to 100 degrees less, so the process started over again with repair guys BS and blaming Sears, all sorts of ridiculous information from both sides with promises NEVER being met. He finally installed a new thermometer and it still doesnt heat to temperature so I have to program it 25 degrees higher and wait 45 minutes longer than what the alert and temperature says on the control panel. In an argument with repair guy in my kitchen over my unreasonable expectation to have purchased a functioning product he accused me of only wanting to get a new oven. Imagine the gall of me actually expecting to have purchased a functioning product by a supposedly reliable name like Samsung. I am 71 years old and am old enough to know, from experience, what good customer service is. Repair guy is a grey hair and should know that too. But he is perfectly employed by a sub-standard company selling a very inferior product. And, although promised by his wife on one call, and his daughter on another, that I would get service orders and documentation emailed to me, it has never happened. What a waste of time and money, not to mention having to play stupid passive-aggressive games with a low in standards repair person. I am now afraid of fire after reading the rest of the reviews. Im surprised that Samsung hasnt been sued and ovens have not been recalled. I mean really surprised. My oven is barely 2 years old. In any other electrical stove/oven I have ever owned I have NEVER had a problem with self-clean.
Ice maker in fridge circuit board shorted out and caused house fire. Lost everything in my home. Samsung rep came and investigated and took ice maker from fridge and said not the cause! Fire marshal reports said ice maker was cause. A service tech also said cause was fridge! You should Google Samsung icemaker fires and watch all the complaints.
I purchased model #smh9207st Samsung microwave on 09-09-12. The SE code was always on my microwave. My fan will come on in middle of the night, like it has a mind of its own. I never have been able to turn on fan or off fan but fan will come on after only 20 seconds of putting a cup of coffee to warm. Fan comes on for 30 to 40 min and it will not turn off by pushing off button. I contacted Samsung after reading all the bad reviews about this microwave. They told me yes, they would pay to put another defective part in my microwave but if it breaks again in a few months and my warranty is out, it would not be covered. They know this is a defective microwave they are selling to thousands of people and they are doing nothing about it! Help! They are putting a defective control panel assembly right back in their microwave they know has a problem! And then all the people who purchased the defective microwave have no protection! Help! What can be done?
On Feb.16, 2009, we purchased a 30 Samsung electric stove AND a 5 year warranty. Almost immediately, we knew we had a problem. We spent the entire 5 years of warranty, having repairmen from A & E Factory Service (Sears) come put bandaids on this very expensive stove ($1508 without the warranty cost). When the extended warranty ran out in February of 2014 the stove had all the same problems it had as a new stove. Since then, I always set the temperature too high (because it never reaches the temperature I set it at). I bought a good oven thermometer to put in the oven which I watch by shining a flashlight through the glass in the oven door, adjusting the temperature throughout the baking period. You see, I cant trust the oven to go to the temperature I need. The beeper that is supposed to tell you when the oven is hot enough to bake your food beeps when the oven is at least 100 degrees lower than I have set it for. This oven has ruined so many things I have tried to bake, including a ham that I served partly raw without realizing it. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS!! I seriously cringe when I see full page ads for Samsung appliances. I will NEVER buy another one. But think of all those poor people who WILL! (We purchased the stove from a store in Loveland Colorado called Ji and Daves Appliance, Inc. which is no longer in business).
From my complaint sent to Samsung: I bought this Samsung side-by-side RS2545SH/XAA refrigerator for my office in 2008. Within the first year, I had to have the service techs in to repair and replace the board because it was causing the fridge to over-cool, either freeze the refrigerator section or leave it uncooled. That was repaired under warranty. In the past year, I have encountered the same issue. Now the board is causing the cold water reservoir to freeze. I have had both our local repairman and yours out to attempt repair. The local reported that it is a common problem with refrigerators and recommended higher temp settings to keep the problem at bay, but wouldnt recommend refrigerators with chips for our next purchase.Your repairman, while polite, wasnt prepared with the parts in the truck for the probable repair. It took him 3 hours to diagnose and defrost the water reservoir. It would have likely been cheaper for him to just replace the plastic unit. He identified that the problem is likely the board or the heater, but could be the wire that connects the two that is not repairable. It would be an additional $350.00 for the repair and another visit on top of the $302.10 already paid to your tech and $110.00 for our local repair tech. The tech warned that with the replacement parts (which he didnt have with him), he couldnt guarantee that it would be fixed because of a wire built into the fridge could be the culprit and isnt repairable. I would be stuck with the costs and a broken fridge.I and my assistant Paul ** (ticket **) have made numerous calls to your call center for updates and requests to review this issue and have been met with what I would call polite stonewalling. I feel that purchasing a premium product should come with support. I also expect a refrigerator to last at least 20 years before needing service. I have not experienced either with this purchase and could not recommend your product to others. I will be exploring additional avenues to file complaints against your company including the store where we bought it and our state attorney general. It would appear, in hindsight, that I would have been better off purchasing a basic model that would have cost me considerably less and would have been repairable.
I bought a Samsung Range under a year ago and have been having problems with it ever since. When using the oven, it heats my cabinets, knobs, walls, over the range microwave, and exterior portions of the range to over 160 degrees. When using the oven the stove knobs are too hot to even turn on the stove top. We called Samsung and they immediate sent out a service technician. The tech said the area was getting extremely warm but the range was working properly. We again called Samsung because we are unable to use this unsafe product in our home and they were very rude and not concerned about our safety, but agreed to send another tech out. Second tech, said it was getting warm and that’s how ovens work and left. I know for a fact that this is NOT how ovens work. My cabinets and over the range microwave are nearly too hot to open when the oven is on. My neighbor has the exact same range and hers is not operating this way, so I know there is an issue with mine. We are not able to use this oven at this point due to safety issues as my husband has already received burns. Samsung is not willing to resolve this issue and that is unacceptable, especially because it is still under warranty.
This model I have was the worst engineered product that has been seen on the market. Samsungs have all the bells and whistles, great novel my useful designs but the quality is not up to the price asked. The repairman said they tried for three years to fix the ice buildup problem and finally got it right after three years. I find that I still see ice, though it has not stopped cooling but it feels like skating on thin ice and that it will break again at any given moment. JCPenney now has appliances and they are phasing out selling Samsung. The enameled on their stoves is so thin. As is the paint on the refrigerator. I wont buy this brand again. The new features are always enticing with this brand but dont fall for it. By the way read about the problems And complaints before you read the glowing reviews about any appliance and always buy the extended warranty if you cant afford a big repair bill visit. Most appliances the repair person told me appliances need a repair in 1 1/2 years to 3 years. They just dont make them like they use to. And dont think high end and huge price is also an indication of quality, it just may be a status brand.
Im extremely satisfied and always get compliments on my Samsung refrigerator. Love that it has Wi-Fi on it and I can save recipes I like. Plenty of room in freezer and refrigerator. Stainless steel color just brightens up the entire kitchen.
Have a french door refrigerator. Had problems with the ice maker after first 30 days. Ice maker leaks and freezes up. Have had this worked on twice and numerous calls to Samsung with NO help from them. Everyone needs to know there is a class action lawsuit regarding this issue. Contacted Best Buy for service and the guy told me they would come fix it but would only be a 50/50 chance the ice maker would be fixed for good because of continuous problems with this ice maker and it could cost up to $500. Samsung has a problem with this and they should take responsibility to make good on their products. Will not buy another Samsung product.
I bought Samsung dishwasher and a Samsung refrigerator. A little after a year our dishwasher went out. Samsung sent out a repairman. It cost us a little over $200.00 dollars to get fixed. A few months later it stopped working again. Decided to get rid of the dishwasher. The icemaker and the fridge part of our refrigerator stopped working. Samsung referred us to Service Quick to repair it. The serviceman told us the ice maker will need to be replaced and to fix the fridge he will need a sensor. The cost would be $900.00 and $200.00 service call. I called Samsung again and they do nothing for people who buy their products. DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS. We decided to buy another refrigerator. NOT A SAMSUNG!
I bought a Samsung stove in 2017. By 2019 the display was flashing all the time. We tried to contact them. No help. Tried again today. Its only a year warranty? $1000 for a stove and its only expected to last a year? This is clearly a manufacturer problem and the stove works but honestly Ill end up having migraines if I have to look at this flashing for another year or 2. Samsung says sorry, not sorry basically. I have a video if I can post it with this review.
Remodeled kitchen at the Shore. Bought Samsung Refrigerator and dishwasher. After reading Consumer report. Right off the bat dishes were always wet, never dried, had to hand dry. Called Samsung and was told to turn my hot water heater up and use on sanitize and heavy load settings. (This is great way to save energy.) This really did not accomplish much. Dishes still wet, still had to be dried by hand. This dishwasher is only used on weekends in the summer maybe at most it was used 20 times the first year. Second summer by 4th of July used around 6 times and a grinding noise started. Not all the time but at end of cycle. Called repair person (independent) 4 people refused to work on Samsung. I found one repair person who I paid $200 dollars to come and he told me I needed a new motor, which would be upward of $300. Washed the dishes for the remainder of that year. Third summer, called Sears, got a service contract for all products purchased from them, $300. Sears came and replaced pump, and said there was lots of plastic rack clips in pump, we counted 4. I never raise or lower the rack. The clips broke from just simply pulling it out and pushing it back. I was instructed to do this gently. That was 4 weeks ago. SE light came on and dishwasher stopped, after at tops 6 uses and gently moving the rack back and forth running hot water for 3-4 min. until very hot before turning on dishwasher at heavy and sanitize load. After a two week wait for service and another week for parts Sears is scheduled to come and replace pump and motor and all the rack clips. This will still be under my repair agreement with Sears (thank Goodness). So far my 3 year old Samsung DMR78DHS $800 plus delivery and installation has cost me $500. That is $1300. divided by the times used 30 = $43.33 each times it has been used. WOW!!! Not counting energy cost. I have no expectation that this scheduled repair will last. I hope it will until the end of summer and I will plan on buying a new dishwasher. I will under no circumstance buy another Samsung product. I wouldnt pay sales tax on another Samsung product if they gave me one. Not worth the trouble.
We bought a Samsung Refrigerator, model RF260BEAESR, under 5 years ago. Its cooling system completely failed one night ruining the entire contents of the fridge and freezer. We are a family of 5 so it wasnt half full either. Since then there have been 3 repair attempts with each resulting in more part failures and more parts ordered. It produces a horrendous chemical/oil stench when plugged in and I cant imagine thats ok to breathe for my three children. Its been a month with no fridge and enough is enough. Just replace the thing already, admit it was a terrible product and lets move on.DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS. All repair persons have said same thing, terribly made, they do not last, and they are a pain to deal with. Save yourself the headache and go with a different brand. Hopefully Lowes will honor their warranty and replace the lemon already and do the right thing. Thats why we bought the warranty and why they are offered, right????
The ice builds up on the back panel of the inside of this fridge. You have to defrost the fridge every 6 months!!!
I had the refrigerator for about a year when I poured milk for my cereal and I noticed it was spoiled and there was a bad odor in my refrigerator. Come to find out, the coils had frozen over. I called a repairman and he told me to unplug it to let it defrost. It worked for about a month and it continues to freeze every few weeks. After reading the reviews, I dont want to lose anymore food so Im just going to invest in another brand.
I have struggled with error code with this dishwasher shortly after purchasing it. I owned it for exactly 1 year, 1 month. 1 year warranty was not supported at all. Why do people submit reviews after owning a dishwasher for only 2 months is beyond me. Of course its going to run great! After 1 year they will be singing a different song. Its so quiet now BECAUSE ITS BROKEN!!! I have a 0 decibel DW now, the dishwasher is completely dead. I paid $700 for this dishwasher. I repaired the inlet valve sensor, case assy, and main relay board. I finally gave up after coming across some fine dishwasher from WP on Black Friday. I have a Samsung fridge and its acting up too. I shouldve gotten an extended warranty on both, but it seems, Im reading, that Samsung wont support the products with extended warranties.
There is a severe design flaw in Samsung refrigerators. They freeze up with ice in the back panel every 5-7 months requiring complete removal and 24 hour thawing. Samsung is also unresponsive with no customer service. For a really good view, Google removing the rear panel of a Samsung refrigerator. Then watch the YOUTube video. Then you will know what a disappointment it is to own a $2500 refrigerator that is less than 3 years old.
On March 26, 2010 I purchased a Samsung white refrigerator (MODEL # RSG257AAWP) which I just loved the look. Unfortunately there are problems with this refrigerator. 1. There was a problem with the ice maker in the first year. PACIFIC SALES replaced the ice maker as they knew it was defective. 2. Now the side door rack keeps falling off???? So I cant use it. 3. The front door is rusting and spreading down the whole door??????? That is a major problem. And ugly too. PACIFIC SALES is out of the picture. They told me I have to contact SAMSUNG. SAMSUNG needs to be responsible for their defective product. One UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.
The only good thing I will say about this piece of junk is that it is a nice looking microwave. I bought it in April 2016 and have had numerous problems. In November 2017 while using the convection oven the door glass shattered out of nowhere. Before that happened it had shut off completely on three occasions and would turn back on in the morning when it cooled down. I have a Geek Squad warranty so they fixed the door in November and since then the cavity TCO has failed twice and burnt the wires along with it. Before I bought this piece of junk I had a GE Advantium that lasted 15 years without a problem before it died. I guess you get what you pay for with the $400 piece of Samsung garbage. Do yourself a favor if you are reading this and do not buy a Samsung.
My Samsung RFG298HD refrigerator is about 5 years old. Earlier this year the icemaker stopped working... Got that problem fixed. Shortly after that, water began pooling in the Cool Select Pantry Drawer and now the drawer seems to be frozen in place and will not open at all. After some internet research Ive learned this a fairly common problem with Samsung refrigerators and apparently Samsung has chosen not to address the problem. This was a very expensive refrigerator and Im not happy with the product and WILL NOT buy another Samsung appliance. My last refrigerator was a Kenmore. We had for over 20 years which was still working perfectly when we replaced it with the Samsung junk.
The dishwasher is one year old and from day one smelled like football locker room, even when it was empty. It was installed by Home Depot. I re-routed the drain hose higher to keep water from the disposal from back-flowing into the dishwasher, which I assume has no back flow prevention valve, given the amount of water left in the sump after running. No change. Ive owned and installed many, many dishwashers and never had an odor problem, even when they were full of dirty dishes. We bought a second home home with brand new Samsung appliances. A Stove, Microwave, Dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer. We have issues with every one of them! Poor design and poor engineering is consistent throughout the entire line. I wouldnt even recommend them to my worst enemy! The seller paid $500 for a transferable extended warranty. It took him 3 months of constantly calling Samsung and hours of arguing to finally get the warranty transferred! So, if you have an issue with a Samsung appliance, well, good luck.In addition to the constant horrible smell, the dish racks are very poorly laid out and waste a lot of space. Good luck trying to fit 12 place settings into this. It does a poor job of removing coffee stains from cups. The upper rack has only 2 height settings. On the higher one even small saucers hit the very useless top cutlery rack. On the lower setting you run the risk of the washer arm hitting any moderately tall dishes or pans, which causes food to stick to the dishes.I am speculating that the smell is caused by incomplete draining. There is filter that needs constant cleaning, but even keeping it clean doesnt prevent the smell. There is a sump under the filter where water pools, but that should be clean water? But many other dishwashers leave some water in the bottom and do not have this horrible smell. And, at this price point, the dishwasher should have a food grinder instead of a filter that needs constant cleaning! Again, poor design and engineering! The dishwasher is very quiet, and if you set it up within the confines of the poor design and engineering, it will usually get things fairly clean. But you can find many, many other dishwashers for much less money that will do a much better job every time, and smell fine even with a load of dirty dishes. Dont fall in love with the pretty face! Buy something that works!!!!
Years back, we bought a Samsung washer, and had an awful experience, but we decided to give them a second try because we have always loved their phones. We bought a beautiful fridge and hoped for the best. It wasnt the case. We just replace our Samsung french door, bottom drawer fridge after 4 years and almost 1 month. Keep in mind, we paid $2,000.00 for this appliance. If you Google this fridge, you will see that every person who has ever owned one has had water leaking and drain line issues. We were no exception. After about 2 years of ownership the fridge began to leak water at the front left hand corner. We called our serviceman and were told this happens with every single one of these. We were instructed to thaw it out with a hairdryer! When that did not solve the issue, we were instructed to completely empty the fridge, defrost it for at least 24 hours, and then turn it back on. Each remedy worked for a time, then same issue would pop up again. We limped it along for two years, with the problem reoccurring more and more frequently. Finally, we had to thaw it about every day, and rather than loose our food, we bought a new fridge. We were told to contact Samsung, and they tried to say that we did not have the properly fridge unleveled (it was professionally installed), and offered to repair it at our cost. To add insult to injury, it damaged my wooden floors, and the edge of an antique cabinet. Please save yourself the grief and do not purchase any fridge from this company.
My dishwasher looks nice. It does a good job of cleaning but runs a long time. The size is good but seems very dark inside. We had a problem with it the first year and Samsung did fix it but a year later the same problem. They paid for the parts but we had to pay for the repair. This was the same problem that we had with it the first time. Wish I had bought another KitchenAid.
RF217ACPN - Just shortly after the refrigerator went out of warranty a continuous water build up started in the crisper drawer. The repairman explained that there is a small part that is faulty in the drainage of many Samsung models - replacement cost me $150.
Had a problem with the ice maker in my Samsung fridge (Samsung RFAERS266). Followed all the troubleshooting suggestions in the book, online, at the Samsung site, and on the phone with Samsung tech support. Finally scheduled an appointment for service through Samsung, technician arrived, unplugged the unit, plugged it back in, said that was all that was necessary to reset the computer, and left with my $100.00!! I wrote to Samsung and told them as a courtesy to their customers, this fix should have been somewhere in their literature or on their site. I was contacted by a rep from their customer service department, basically was told sorry, nothing they could do about it. I did request that they would at least publish this information along with their other troubleshooting suggestions. To date, I have not seen this information on their site. Just want to let others know to try this fix before paying for service call. There was NOTHING else wrong with my unit. Somehow the computer had lost its brain and needed to be reset. This happened out of the blue. No power outages precipitated this event. Very frustrating!! This was the third service call in three years on this expensive appliance. Would not buy another.
I have had my Samsung stove in my house for 9 weeks and have had two different service requests during that time. After a month the entire top stopped working. No burners. It was repaired and I was thankful. 7 weeks into the use of my stove, I turned on the oven and after 5 or so minutes smoke started billowing from it and a terrible burning smell filled the air. There was nothing in my oven at the time and the smoke was actually coming from the back. With the assistance of my husband I pulled the stove away from the wall to see flames pouring out the back of my stove. We got it unplugged and the flames out. Had I not been in the room at the time, my kitchen would have gone up in flames. It has been two weeks since that incident and I still do not have stove. Samsung came across as caring at the beginning and sent a service technician, but they will not respond to me anymore. The service technician recommended a replacement of my stove but Samsung issued a repair order. Samsung connected me to someone in management via email, but they won’t acknowledge my concerns or even respond to my emails. It is an absolutely terrible product, and terrible customer service. This was my first and last Samsung appliance purchase. Do not buy this stove.
Samsung has been selling defective refrigerators for several years now and we are stuck with something that breaks every few weeks. It has been a nightmare of a purchase and we are fighting to get a refund back to be able to get a usable replacement.
I have purchase three Samsung appliance less than four years ago from Brault and Martineau in Gatineau Quebec, the stove (Model FE-R400SWS) was recently service because I have notice that the top of the door was rusting and had yellow burn marks. The hinges and door seal were replace under warranty job was done by Cosmo-Tech. The extended service contract was purchase from Brault and Martineau under Comerco Service Inc. in Laval Quebec. Comerco refused to replace the damage door because it was cosmetic and not covered under warranty. Brault and Martineau refuses to help because it is a warranty matter. I have contacted Samsung technical service department and they also refuse to take responsibility for the damage door. A new door part number DG94-00223E would cost $350.50. Unfortunately these are the facts and I will let you make your own decision. Thank for your time.
RF4287HARS/XAA - I rarely write negative reviews but this refrigerator is terrible. The ice maker has broken twice in two years resulting in thousands of dollars in damages to my widowed mothers floor. Bought it at HH Gregg in Charlotte. The first time the ice maker broke was two weeks after the 1 year warranty expired. Called HH Gregg and they didnt care. Do not buy the new fancy multi-door with fancy lights refrigerators. They are unreliable with too many fragile cheap parts and the manufacturers make their money on maintenance agreements. If you have to purchase an extended warranty that is an indication the product is garbage. I have a fifteen year old, two door standard Frigidaire at its worked flawlessly all along.
We have a Samsung RS263 with French doors. We keep hearing a sound like a fan clipping something. Called Samsung toll free number and got told basically to call a authorized service center and get a technician out. We live in rural Saskatchewan 30 minutes outside of Regina. When we asked who was the authorized rep for our area Samsung couldnt tell us. I finally suggested to my wife to unplug the fridge for a while because to me it sounded like the fan was hitting on some frost or ice buildup. After a couple of hours we plugged the fridge back in and the problem was gone for a day or two, then reoccurs. We had a few fridges in our lives and this is the first and last time we will ever buy any Samsung product.
We bought our Samsung fridge with icemaker in 2015 and loved the design for storage. We had several issues with defrosting and the fridge developing ice and the back and freezing food. We started to take a day once a year to defrost it over 24 hours and it worked for a couple years but we called it this year. It froze up again (early this year) and we defrosted it again but it never got back to properly keeping our food cool but not frozen. Our local repair person told us he wouldnt waste our time because hes gone to service Samsung fridges many times and bought new parts but it never helped. When we had our new fridge delivered the delivery person commented that theyve removed mostly Samsung fridges from peoples homes. They look good but not worth it. Ours lasted 6 years! Thats not long for over $2,000.00. Not to mention the environmental impact!
Samsung DMT800RHS dishwasher woes - I bought this unit from Appliances Connection in NY over a month ago and today is the first day its been able to run. The door hinges werent assembled properly and the first time I opened the door, it broke. It took a month and a huge runaround between Samsung, Appliances Connection and the local service provider to get the parts. Once the door was repaired, I completed the installation and it leaked all over the floor. I loaded it into my truck and took it to the repair center myself to save time. I hope my trouble is over with this unit. Samsung, their dealer and the repair center played point the finger for a month - very poor indeed!
We bought this at HHGregg in June 2015 for $2000. Thought it would be our last refrigerator. No such luck! Nine months after buying it, it started making loud noises and freezing up inside the back wall. For all practical purposes, their customer service is non existent! Got passed from one to the other, asking the same questions over and over, like the model #, serial #, etc. Asked irrelevant things like how many Samsung products we owned. Then said it probably wasnt level and to look under it! Totally insane! Got nowhere so called the store that sold it to us and they finally got in touch with a rep who set up the repair. Thought that was the end of it but three months later, around July 1st this year, the clanging noise returned and it wasnt cooling properly! Same problem with icing and fan. Now it is one month out of warranty! Called previous repair company and they couldnt come for over two weeks! Tried Angies List and Home Advisor. Got call backs but they stated outright that they wouldnt work on Samsung appliances because of shoddy workmanship and numerous problems! Finally got someone to look at it. He tested it and said two motherboards were burnt out, along with needing new fan, thermostats (plural), etc. Said parts come from overseas and could take months and it would be over $1000 to fix, with no guarantee it would last! We cant go without a refrigerator so ended up junking it and buying a new one. Not Samsung! Never again! So for 13 months, we had a pretty appliance that doesnt work! These obviously should have been recalled! Were back to the top freezer model, recommended by the repairman and this time bought a 4 year warranty. Its disgusting that they can sell such junk and are not stopped! It was an expensive $2100 mistake!
The Samsung refrigerator is good, but it is very pricey, even the filter is expensive. I like this fridge very much. I would recommend to others. The refrigerator can be bought in lots of stores. However its difficult to find the filters when you need them and they are not cheap.
Where to begin: the clear plastic fronts of all of the door shelves cracked and fell off. Some door shelves simply fell out and broke as well. The center deli drawer sticks requiring serious pulling to get it open. The hinges for the cover for the deli drawer broke at the pivots which are built into the refrigerator. The cover also fell out and cracked. Our house is not air-conditioned. When the temperature gets into the 80s, the refrigerators control computer does not like that and the control panel blinks on and off, turning on and off all of the functions (upper ice maker, lower ice maker, crushed ice, water) and the temperature control randomly switches as well. The lower ice maker fell off after a few months. Samsung would not help. I engaged a private repair company who indicated that they had seen that happen before. A few weeks after he replaced the ice maker, it broke again. The repair company indicated that they would not/could not guarantee any repairs on the Samsung refrigerator. At this point, there is no lower ice maker at all. Upon several occasions, the upper ice maker flap jammed open. And as other reviewers have mentioned - Samsung customer service is about the worst one could imagine. In all, the terrible experiences that we have had with this refrigerator have given us one clear path forward: NEVER, EVER purchase any Samsung refrigerators!!!
Samsung FE710DRS/XAA Range. This range was built-in 2011 and we bought it in 2012. For the first year, it worked fine. Unfortunately, within a week or so of the warranty ending, the center element of the three element right front burner stopped working. Per Sears: We had to replace the front element AND the burner control switch, since one of them caused the other to stop working. In other words, the Sears technician didnt know which came first, the chicken or the egg! But! They were both bad! Unless! As he then added, Unless the controller is defective, in which case youll have to replace it too! Cost? Over $400. We decided to live without the center element, after all the middle and outer elements were working fine.AND THEN! Six months or so later, while my wife was baking the Christmas Turkey, the controller declared that the range was suffering an E-27 error! Naturally, I got out the operator manual! So! I turned off the circuit breaker as instructed! And the range worked. Until the next time. After that, every time we used the oven, we got either an E-27 error or an E-0A error. E-0A meaning that the oven was too hot.Naturally, Sears told us that we had to replace the oven temperature sensor and almost certainly the controller as well, since it PROBABLY was defective. Cost over $400! We decided to live with the E-27 and E-0A errors since turning the circuit breaker off and back on fixed the problem long enough that we could finish baking whatever we were baking. Unless, of course, my wife or daughter was baking a cake. Which is to say that if the controller declared an E-27 or E-0A error, the cake would be ruined. And then! The 2-element front left burner decided to operate at FULL POWER no matter where the burner control knob was set. Naturally, my wife found out that the hard way, as in: She left the kitchen to answer a phone call, while simmering vegetables for a soup, only to suddenly see smoke pouring from the kitchen! That was the last straw! So! We started looking for another range. BUT! The Samsung had one last nasty trick up its sleeve! The right rear burner OPENED while I was heating water.Just in case you dont know what OPENED means, as applied to an electrical device, it means that a conductor, as in a piece of wire (the wire in the burners of all-electric ranges are conductors) separated, in a spectacular fashion, as in: SPARKS and loud POPPING NOISES! No, it didnt blow the 50-amp breaker, but it kept right on sparking and popping for about a minute, when the wire in the burned finally pulled apart, which OPENED the circuit. AND SO NOW, we were down to one burner working properly, the left rear burner, one burner that was dead, the right rear burner, one burned that was limping, the right front burner, and one burner that would only work at full power. To be perfectly frank, I would not have a Samsung range if Samsung offered to give me one for free! AND! To be perfectly frank, I am not in the least surprised that Samsungs Galaxy Note 7 smartphones have batteries that can explode. In my humble opinion, I think that any person who buys anything made by Samsung is making a huge mistake!
I purchased my Samsung DW (Model DW933) through Lowes. After 2 months, I noticed a smell that is always present - even after I cleaned the dishes. It is awful. Plus, the glasses dont stay up. I have several broken glasses when I open my DW, I can count on one of them being broken... The top rack is a joke. Spoke to Samsung and they sent a repairman out... He was a joke. I could not understand him. He told me to use vinegar too like I did not know that already. Waste of time. Im SO FREAKING UNHAPPY with this dishwasher but Im stuck with it. Samsung should recall them... Oh by the way, the rollers on the bottom shelf do not glide back and forth. If you take the shelf out too far, it will fall down onto the door. There are no stops to prevent this from happening. I need some help here. I dont have 700.00 for another new Dishwasher. :(
We have had other appliance brands before and their reliability has been terrible. We own 4 Samsung TVs, Samsung washer/dryer, Samsung Fridge and the LATEST PURCHASE: Samsung dishwasher. We are very happy with our Hi-tech dishwasher. Even our grown children own Samsung products. Highly recommended!
Samsung refrigerator, water in the floor after you dispense ice. Ice maker freezes up. We cant get the ice container out. Repairman has been called. Almost $3000 dollars for this headache.
Black French door Refrigerator Model # RF263AEBP. After just over 1 year from purchase, we were alerted to our 1st of now 3 water freeze-up in our fridge. In time #1 & 2 noted water on kitchen floor which was ultimately also on the floor of refrigerator section. Warranty was expired. Thank goodness for websites like this and youtube as we determined the problem was water line freezing and ultimate ice back up. Ice was thick all over the coils and drain clogged with ice. After following youtube directions all was fixed and we felt pretty darn happy with ourselves. (Rightly so as based upon reviews here not only do Samsung techs not know what’s going on - there is no fix, thats clear - but private techs dont know either and all just sell you a bill of goods you dont need.)About 6 months later we were alerted to the problem again in the same way described above. Followed the same youtube process and although this is getting old, solved the problem. Its been over a year and no freeze ups. Until 2 days ago. This time no alert of water, simply the fridge was warmer than usual. Rebooted the fridge and the sensor panels. The key here we didnt hear the fan going. Fridge and freezer cold enough but no noisy fan motor (a lifetime issue with this fridge). Again alerted by one of the reviews, we tried to do what we always do but this time it took 40 min to remove the back panel to access the frozen coils. When we finally got it off the fan was still under over 3 inches of ice (fan is on the back panel). Well after another hour of defrosting all ice with hair dryer and clearing the iced up drain.. all was cleaned (only positive occurrence for me) and put back.Well, while ice is gone, this must have been the straw on the camel’s back as even though the fan moves freely it seems the motor probably has had it. Froze up too long. No early alert system which clearly this defective product needs. I am mad. Not at defective product but at the dismissive attitude of this company to all those who have been trying to go through the proper channels. I do have no choice but to call my regular appliance company who I trust. Then Ill decide whether or not to repair or replace. Its a shame because the physical structure Im happy with. But will never, ever, ever buy an appliance that has any association with Samsung in the future...
I have a nonworking 2 yr old Samsung refrigerator that has been broken for over 5 weeks. We have an extended warranty through PSEG and Samsung kept sending incorrect replacement parts, and it still doesnt work. I have called Samsung directly... didnt care. My husband e-mailed Samsung and got the same basic help. Samsung does have a record of purchase.
From the day we got the Samsung refrigerator, we found small leaks on the linoleum floor. When the filter replacement light went on, I tried to replace the original filter with a Samsung filter, and the neck of the original--with its O-ring, broke off, requiring shutting off the water outside the refrigerator. While waiting for the replacement part, the entire ice cube maker iced up, spilling water out the front, onto the floor and ruining the custom wood enclosure. We are still awaiting a fix (thank heavens we purchased an extended warranty).
We bought the Samsung French doors with a bottom freezer. The ice tray went out in about a year. Three years later, the contents in the refrigerator started freezing. We had a repairman look at it. He said it would cost $1200.00 to fix it. So after four years we had to purchase another refrigerator. OMG how disappointed. We will never buy Samsung anything again.
I just read all the terrible reviews on Samsung refrigerators and realize I am not alone. After a year my unit started filling up with water and ice in both bins. Upon removing the bins the bottom (under the bins) was covered with water and MOLD! When called, Samsung denied every having issues with their brand. Have had a service man come twice $$$, to no avail. Ive decided Ill keep this lousy refrigerator for a few more months and DUMP it. Its not worth investing another penny! I thought about purchasing an appliance warranty, but I read the reviews and the too were awful! Whats the consumer to do?
Needed repairs within 3 years. Called first appliance repair company not with Samsung. Defrosted it and with service call charged me 296.00. Told me the noise and ice buildup was a compressor issue. Called Samsung and got a certified Samsung technician for another service call fee. Had the parts already to fix it. Apparently, they have problems with drainage, which backs up and causes freezing up. Not apparently under the warranty, though I am sure they know this French door model has these issues, or they would not have their technicians know exactly what is causing the issues and come prepared to fix it. I will never buy a Samsung refrigerator again. Rip off! I am $600.00 in the hole for repairs for their faulty design. They should stand behind their bad designs and fix them at no cost!
Purchase a Samsung electric range May 2014, used the steam clean option on the stove - the blue surface in the bottom of the stove started chipping. When I called Samsung about the problem I was told if was cosmetic damage and its not covered by Samsung warranty. I asked to speak to a supervisor - was told someone would call me back within 24 hours. I have not received that call as of March 16 2015. I also purchased the entire kitchen package - started hearing a lot noise coming from the back of my French door refrigerator. I was told that they could not set up an appointment for a repair man to come out to check the refrigerator. The noise started 4 months after I purchased the refrigerator. Samsung does not want to fix or take back their defected products. Im going to get my attorney involved with this situation to see if he can put a fire under Samsung.
Bought a 4 French door refrigerator less than 4 yrs ago. Have had 4 service reps from my home warranty co out to try and fix the refrigerator not cooling. They finally said it must have a leak in the system and they dont want to work on it anymore and have offered 1600.00 to replace it. The fridge on sale was 2700.00!!! I called Samsung for help because its only 4 yrs old. Should not have to be replaced. They basically said too bad!!! Will NEVER buy a Samsung product again nor should anyone else!!!
On August 2, 2015, I opened the broiler to place a tray inside and flames shot out of it and singed face and hair. The fire department, EMT and PSEG responded to the incident. The oven was tagged defective and the gas line was shut off. I have been in constant communication with Samsung regarding the oven. I inquired about being compensated for food due to the loss of use and was told that they do not provide compensation. Last week, I was advised that they would swap out the oven. I advised them that before I would commit to this resolution, I would like to know the cause of the fire. I was informed that this information could not be released to me. As a consumer who purchased this item, was injured by it and could have received extensive damage to my house, I believe that I should be informed of the cause and/defect of the unit. My family has been greatly impacted and scarred by this incident and I believe that Samsung Executive Customer Relations representatives have not been able to rectify the situation to my satisfaction. I am currently waiting for Samsung to determine if we can have a full refund so that I can purchase an oven that is not Samsung. At this juncture, I am scared to use another Samsung product without full disclosure. To date, my family has been without an oven for 9 days and have to eat out. I would like this resolved ASAP.
Purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator 16 months ago. It was pricey but it was a smaller refrigerator that fit well in our kitchen, and based on reviews on Consumer Reports thought it was going to be great. First problem is the door handles. Any slight bump of a dish going in the fridge chips off the black paint leaving white marks. Then I started noticing water in the bottom of the bins. After 13 months, the refrigerator stopped cooling. Of course, the year warranty was up, so I was responsible for the cost. Called Samsung and they said I would hear from a repairperson within 48 hours. After 3 days I called them back and said I hadnt heard from anyone, so they gave me the name of the company to call myself (could have saved time doing that in the first place). Repairman couldnt come for 2 more days. When he did, he said I would have to defrost all the ice that had built up on the back wall of the fridge and that he would order a part. So... 5 more days without a refrigerator. New part works. Then last week, noticed the refrigerator getting warm again, and the freezer had ice crystals all over and the food was rock hard. Put in a thermometer and the fridge was 58 and the freezer was -10. Repairman back out. He was stumped, but called their Samsung expert. He asked if we used the ice maker (no... we have enough problems). Seems the light that says ice off needs to be on, or the freezer works extra hard to make ice (even though there is no water hooked up). Hope this helps someone. So, again we had to defrost the fridge. Its worked now for a week - not sure how long this will last. Samsung needs to admit there is a flaw in their refrigerators and give us some compensation.
We purchased this unit from Lowes and were not happy with the way it cleaned right off the bat. There were water spots on the glasses, food still on the plates. After 6 months of use, the top basket rack adjuster broke. They did send us new ones which lasted another 6 months. We asked for another set and they said it was just out of warranty but they would send them out once more at no charge. Six months later, they broke again! Now, I was getting angry and they say it was a design flaw and we can send you out another set. Six months later they started breaking again! This is an awful product. This past Christmas, an error code came up for leak detected. It ended up being the drain hoses cracking and leaking. Now, my basement floor is destroyed from a 2-year-old dishwasher! After we fixed the drain hoses which was 2 months ago, we have a new code 9E - low water flow. This is caused by the basket adjuster pieces that were broken off and stuck in the hoses. I feel that I should be refunded or receive a new dishwasher. This should have been recalled by now. Im not a happy Samsung customer!
Since purchasing my refrigerator, weve had to replace the shelving on both doors a total of 10 times at a cost of $41.00 per shelf. The plastic around the interior shelf and drawer systems has also broken. I researched the product and found the shelving was determined to be defective. I contacted Samsung to see if they provided alternative replacement shelving to replace the defective shelving. First off I attempted to chat with a Samsung representative, they could not understand English and I was asked to to simplify my words. I then called Samsung and was told they did not have an alternative replacement, they would not provide replacement shelving, they would not discount the cost of the replacement shelving, and basically notify me there was nothing they could or would do. I am a long time Samsung customer, and I will never purchase another Samsung phone, computer, television, or appliance from this corporation. The original cost of this refrigerator was $1,300 and I was told it had it should last an estimated 10 years, which is a joke. The problems started when 3 months after it was purchased. I work with manufacturers of appliances on a daily basis as a regional manager in the multi-family housing industry and have never had a company care less than the Samsung customer service agent I spoke with. To not even offer the known defective replacements parts at a discount is unheard of.
I too bought a samsung dishwasher, 15 months in, it stopped washing, out of warranty, so I paid out of pocket for repairs. Then bought extended warranty, as offered by samsung. 2 months later, I needed to use. Spent 9 hrs over 2 weeks and 22 people later, no one wants to send a repair tech! Do NOT buy samsung, the warranty is bogus and the run around will give you a stroke!!
2 1/2 years ago, built a new home and purchased $6,000+ in Samsung appliances from Lowes. From the beginning had problems with the refrigerator top ice maker. Several service calls under warranty, now same recurring problem and getting a lot of lip and little to no service. Lowes lady we purchased from continues to try and help with little to no help from others. Repair guy due Monday and most likely will be a no show. Everyone has got their money and no one trying to help other than the Lowes sales lady. She has been attacked by the warranty people and I know this for a fact. If we do not get satisfaction I will be dumping this in my attorneys lab. I am 82 years old and too old to worry with sorry companies and service.
This ice in the refrigerator has not been usable since we got it because of the odor. Changing the filter every six months doesnt help. The ice build-up under the meat drawer has also been a non-stop problem. We just went out and purchased a new one and will never buy another Samsung product because their customer service just doesnt care after multiple calls over the years. We just saw another couple in Lowes buying a new one also who had the same problems and the same model. I would suggest Samsung stick with TVs.
We purchased the Samsung RF30KMEDBSG/AA from Home Depot in August 2017. Within two months the ice maker completely froze over and was a giant block of ice. Samsung customer service instructed me to put the ice maker into a forced defrost and run that several times. They said it was because the unit was new and had air in the water lines. A week of getting good ice and then another block of ice. This went on several times until I forced Samsung to send a service tech to my home. I cited the now known class action suit to get them to come service the unit. The tech force defrosted the ice maker, sealed the compartment with clear silicone and replaced the entire ice maker mechanism. He stated this is the standard repair and thats about all they could do. Over the next four months we would get occasional build up on the ice maker which we would clean off and run it through a maintenance cycle. We are at no less than 3 customer service calls for different issues and at least 6 for the ice maker alone. Samsung has serviced the unit twice and given instructions for the homeowner to service as needed which we have performed almost bi-monthly.Last week the freezer compartment warmed up to 52 degrees and all our frozen food was lost. Of course we are now a few months out of warranty and they would come look at it but parts and labor is at our own expense. After reading more online reviews and complaints regarding Samsung products, I will never be purchasing another of their products. I spoke with Home Depot regarding the issue and they were supportive but understandably unable to assist at this point. 14 month old $2500 refrigerator that is useless and unreliable but the one star is because it looks great!
Worst product EVER! I worked for an appliance manufacturer in Canada. I purchased a refrigerator via my employee discount in 1989. To this day it works PERFECTLY! I need to defrost the ice maker on this POS MONTHLY. STAY AWAY FROM PURCHASING SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS.
Our Side-by-Side fridge stopped working about a month ago. I called Samsung and they offered me a 1 year warranty (which I thought was odd since the fridge was 4 years old). So I accepted, and they referred me to a local repair shop, A&E Factory Service in San Antonio, TX, which by the way is no good as well! The technician came out and said 4 parts needed to be ordered. Only 2 parts came in. Tech ordered other 2 parts. Only one part came in. I HAD to follow up with the Tech, with his company and with Samsung to get that 4th part ordered! Parts finally came in, and the fridge was repaired. Following week, fridge is not working again. A&E sends a Sears tech and says compressor is out of refrigerant (possible leak). He fills refrigerant and leaves before the fridge even shows that it is cooling. Fortunately it did. 2 weeks later (which is today 11/13/13), the fridge is not working again. I call Samsung and get transferred 5 different times because they cant give me a correct department to speak with. In the end, hopefully my fridge gets fixed. I decided to buy a backup the 2nd time around in case this would happen again (which today is the 3rd time). Im pretty sure they are just going to send another tech who seems like they do not know what they are doing and dont make the effort to ensure the fridge gets fixed for good. SO dont buy a fridge from a company who makes TVs and phones, lets put it that way. The model number of my fridge is #RS277ACBP/XAA. That was $1500 down the drain. Dont let the LED lights fool you in front of the fridge and drag you in because you think it looks fancy. Samsungs warranty is no good, their customer service is no good, and the contractors they send to come repair your fridge is no good.
We purchased a Samsung side-by-side refrigerator model # RS2630WW/XAA from Best Buy a few years ago. We began noticing rust appearing right below the the ice/water dispenser. There must be some sort of leak, because the rust marks run down the front of the left refrigerator door. Now the white paint is starting to bubble and crack. I am very frustrated because, of course the refrigerator is no longer under warranty and I am at a loss as to how to fix the problem. We have our house on the market and planned to include the fridge with the sale of the house, however several people who have toured our house have commented on the unsightly refrigerator.
We bought our Samsung fridge Oct 2010 and it is now May 2014 and the repairman has been here twice now and the fridge (not freezer) has frozen over three times, once after the repair. The guy (not sent by Samsung) came out and for just over 400$ replaced the defrost sensor, cover, since it tore when he tried to take it off (still frozen) and another piece and now one month later it froze up the exact same way and now 274$ later, he is replacing the thermostat. That part is 178$ and the labor is 135$. The labor on this job is obscene. There is no one at Samsung that you can talk to and I hope they fail as a business and go under. They sell crap for a lot of money and they are not helpful AT ALL when their crap brakes.
New technology wonder wall dishwasher error code F3 Failure and will not start back up. Immediately contacted HH Gregg where we purchase unit and extended warranty but they would not engage as they said under Samsung warranty and to call them, although only a week old. No one has answered Samsung Customer Service so still trying to reach them...
In July 2012, we had to buy a new refrigerator because the compressor on the old one died. We usually buy appliances from Best Buy but now appliances have been taken over by Pacific Sales. We got their cheap extended warranty and, to this day, the ice maker has failed to function properly. Warranty was called and out of the 4 times, they paid 3 and the last one I had to fight the warranty company (Warren Tech the worst company to deal with) because I kept saying that the ice maker isnt functioning properly because every month the ice builds up and no ice comes out. Samsung will not even help because the manufacturers warranty is over and the problem is now the warranty companys problem. If anyone else has had a problem with their Samsung ice maker please tell us what we could do to have the ice maker function the way it should.
I have had nothing but trouble from this Samsung refrigerator since I bought it. The ice maker has never worked correctly and it has been worked on and parts replaced over and over and over again. I would not recommend this product to anyone!! My experience has been a nightmare!
It is unbelievable that with all the complaints we are reading about the SE problem with Samsung microwaves, the company hasnt responded. I too have the same beeping problem. I hardly used this microwave and have used it less than 2 years after installation. The fix becomes costly if you cant do it yourself. You might as well buy a new one. Then you have to pay for installation of that. I will never buy another Samsung product of any kind as their support is nil.
In October of 2012, we purchased a french door Samsung refrigerator, model #RF263BEAESR from our local appliance store. It worked well for the first year. When it was one month out of warranty, we started having problems with major frost build up in the ice maker, so much so, no ice would drop. Called Samsung and they told me I had to call a local repair service. I was not satisfied with this since IMHO, a one year old fridge shouldnt be having problems. I wrote an e-mail to the Executive Office of Consumer Support and got a phone call back in days. I explained the situation and told them I would never buy their products again. They offered us a one time service accommodation. A service tech came out, identified the problem as a problem with some sort of heater unit and replaced it. The fridge worked okay for 4 months and guess what, its happening again!!! Called Samsung again and threw another fit and told them it wasnt fixed so they offered yet another one time service accommodation. This time, they replace the whole front control panel and some sort of heater fan in the ice maker. If these problems persist, Ill be asking for a replacement fridge. FYI, people having problems and your fridge is almost new, DO NOT call a service repair person. Call Samsung and ask to speak to Executive Consumer Affairs. Tell them the problems youre having and your dissatisfaction and ask for a service accommodation, theyll set you up with a service call and you wont have to pay a penny.
I can only repeat what these other unhappy customers are saying. I have managed not to call a serviceman and have relied on internet solutions. Ive had my French door model for 2 years and I have to defrost it about every 2 months. I love the way I can pack a lot of food in it, but I dont have time to fool with this. Usually after 6-8 weeks I hear the noise and here I go getting out my ice chests. This last time was worse and the whole back panel of the refrigerator got frozen. It had dripped down into my lunch meat for a couple of weeks before I realized where the water was coming from. It ran OK for a week and then the noise came again. Now, the temperature is 58, and it says the freezer is -2, but it all my frozen boxes are wilted, and no ice. Its been the worst appliance by far that Ive had as far as problems that are too expensive to get fixed, and time consuming for me.
SE error message code in Samsung Over-the-Range microwave (SMH9187) wont go away. Ive unplugged the microwave and plugged it back again several times. Message returns on the same day so I cannot use the microwave. This microwave is about 18 months old.
I own a Samsung refrigerator and have had problems from day one. Plastic rolling bins break easily. Have been replaced twice. Broke again, no longer under warranty. Ice maker stopped working. Refrigerator stop cooling, they do not want to fix due to not being under warranty. Have had the fridge less then 5 years.
We purchased a side by side refrigerator from Lowes in Oct. 2012. Last year the refrigerator side build up ice and it stopped cooling. We had to purchase an extended warranty ($388.95) and have a subcontractor come out and repair it. At the time he said it was a known issue and more than likely it would happen again. Sure enough 10 months later we are having the same issue. A different subcontractor came out today and had to order the parts. This service tech said it was a known issue with Samsung refrigerators and more than likely it would happen again. I called the extended warranty Samsung Protection Plus and was told the part would only be guaranteed for 30 days and referred me to the main Samsung customer service. I spent over an hour on the phone, mostly on hold only to be told by the Executive Customer Relations Department that there is nothing they can do for me. The only way we can have repairs covered is to purchase another extended warranty (another $388.95). I will never purchase another appliance from Samsung.
Recently we converted our less than six month old our entire upgraded GE kitchen appliances to Samsung Black Stainless Steel at roughly $6,500. In spite of the cost we have always had success with the product brand including TVs, cell phones, tablets, appliances you name if Samsung makes it we buy it. However the dishwashers has been less than acceptable not to mention most disappointing. Besides being noisy theres always standing water after a complete cycle. If unattended the odor of spoiled or soiled smelling water its all but unbearable. No problem. We contacted the local Samsung authorized technician to make a house call and repairs or adjustment. After a half hour he said everything was in working order and the accumulation of the standing water was normal... I quote its needed to prime the pump... That of course is BS!First thing when you start the washer is WATER! Subsequently and after filing a complaint with customer service which I might add are nothing more than pimple face robots sitting in front of computers that reply from canned presentations. Eventually and after some persistence our complaint was sent to another department and after waiting three or so weeks we get a call back saying they are sending us a complete refund. Once again my faith is restored with Samsung; but its not to be! After a few more weeks the promised call back never came so we reached out to their customer service and once again we got a runaround with the pending refund. But today we get a call from the department that makes the final decision telling us it was a mistake and the problem is considered maintenance not covered under their normal warranty... Mind you we are talking about a product that was less than three weeks old. Their (CR) mannerism with a response was being read not communicated like in a normal conversation; most disappointing to say the least. The CR kept repeating the same verbiage word for word over and over several times. Before I wrote this review I did some research and discovered besides Samsung - Bosch and Whirlpool they share this common problem. Their recommendation is adding vinegar and lemon juice in the dishwasher or you can buy a cleaner/chemical specific for dishwashers to control odors; expect to pay around $12-$13. So Samsung potential dishwashers buyers beware!
DMT800RHS - Dont purchase this item if you have Granite countertops. They only make top mounting brackets. They do not make side mounting brackets. This leaves the dishwasher unstable which continues to cause other issues.. This seems to me to be a design flaw! After reading some of the other complaints, I also agree that there has always been a horrible smell in this dishwasher as well! Very, very unhappy customer!
This has to be the worst dishwasher on the face of the earth. To begin, the workers who delivered the machine broke our woodwork on the floor and they tried to hide the damage. We used the machine twice and couldnt stand the smell and the grinding noise was deafening. Samsung came out and began berating me telling me that this problem was not covered by the warranty and I will never be able to use the warranty again. The repairman was actually yelling at me. I finally had to ask him to leave. While he did fix the machine, like others, it wasnt long before I began experiencing other problems. Hopefully, theyll come out since its still under warranty and be professional about the repair. Weve never had such terrible problems in all our years of owning a dishwasher. This machine should be recalled.
Purchased a stove and refrigerator in June. Have already had 5 service calls on the fridge due to an error code that keeps popping up. Last week I used the self cleaning feature on the stove. Once it ran through the cycle I noticed the control panel was not working and the stainless was brown. Called Samsung Galaxy who put me in touch with service quick. After I called and left a message and waited 2 days. Another week for the appointment. The service tech never called to confirm and I waited all day. He arrived and change gedanken out a part but the cosmetic damage was not repaired. He had to call Samsung to get approval. Now he has to come back for another service call. Horrible service department.
Bought this Samsung model #DW80H9930US dishwasher 8 months ago. The piece of crap starting leaking on its third use and has never stopped. The dishwasher leaks from the doors and seems beneath the door. It has never latched properly so that when if and when it ever reaches a steam cycle without human intervention, the steam escapes from the top of the dishwasher and soaks the entire counter top which then drips to the floor too. Sometimes, I would excited because I only had to intervene with the door twice during a cycle to ensure washing completion. 8 months later, I have to re-latch the door six times to complete the cycle while the dishwasher pisses all over the floor. Ive had Samsung out two times already to fix this never ending problem to no avail and I am working on my third time now.Getting in touch with someone to speak with at Samsung who can get me to the right person to fix the damn thing is a nightmare. After speaking with at least two people who I have to repeatedly ask to repeat themselves because of thick middle eastern accents, I am then told to email all of my proof of purchase receipts to an unnamed department without any point of contact information, whom I am told will get back to me within 24 hours. It then goes from 24 hours to 48 hours (as told by the third person with an accent). When I clarify with her that in two days I should be receiving a call, she tells me that its 48 BUSINESS HOURS! So I now have to wait another week before I even get a call back to tell me they have verified I made the purchase legitimately.So... I email my proof of purchase to a totally different group of people (apart from the customer service reps with accents) and they get back with me about 17 hours later, with an e-mail telling me I need to upload the documents instead of emailing the documents; more time wasted. This is Samsung!!! And when they call me back about four days later, with a blessing stating they believe I made the purchase, they call a company in California who contracts with repairmen in my state who will eventually come to my house to look at the leaking monstrosity. And if they dont get it fixed on that visit, I have to start the process over again. I am disgusted with Samsung and will never. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES. There is a class action lawsuit with their washing machines right now. I am surprised there is not a class action for the dishwashers. Anyone know a good torte attorney???
We purchased a ME model and in a few months it started coming on when we use the stove beneath it. The light comes on and the fan starts and will not turn off. The keypad locks up and you have to unplug. I have a Samsung stove and refrigerator. One of the smooth top burner elements stopped working. Samsung should stick to TVs.
I bought a Samsung dishwasher Model# DW80F600UTS/AA about 6 months ago. Its no good and did not work out of the box. I was getting an error code that it would not drain on start-up. I had to call for service, explained the problem and a tech was scheduled to come and repair it in a week. Tech came, replace faulty part and it finally ran for the first time. Sure it ran but it has never cleaned the dishes very well and it always leaves a powdery residue on everything. The insides of the dishwasher has a build up of powdery residue in certain areas as well, especially on the bottom. Also I have noticed that it smells when I open the door even with no new dirty dishes in it. You would think that from a place where you pull clean dishes from that it wouldnt have a musty odor coming from it. It just makes me sick to know I have a new expensive dishwasher and I wind up cleaning more dishes by hand than I put in my dishwasher. I also bought Samsung microwave oven and stove but have not had a problem yet except that the clocks have to be reset every 30 months because one run fast and the other runs slow. From what I have been reading I am bracing myself for the other appliances to give me problems. I have not bought the fridge yet and I guarantee it wont be a Samsung! Best of luck to all of those who do not heed the warnings of myself and the others who have posted here.
Purchased our refrigerator (RF23HCED) a little over two years ago. Problems right away. So happy we added the five year Service Contract when purchasing. The design of the drawers is such that they are extremely difficult to remove for cleaning. The vegetable drawer has places where dirt gets into but you can’t reach to clean. Gross! And then there are the ice makers. Both have been replaced already. Still the top ice maker barely functions. The serviceman and I are like personal friends. I would NOT recommend this refrigerator! I have purchased several refrigerators in my lifetime. This one had the highest ratings but is the poorest performing model I have owned. Very unhappy with Samsung.
My freezer would not freeze the contents and I called a repair company. They have been back 5 TIMES so far and the problem still exists! They have informed me that Samsung (unlike other manufacturers) do not have a technical support group to help identify problems for their refrigerator products. This really sucks and I will never ever buy another SAMSUNG product that does not offer tech support for the product I am purchasing. I have now been without a working freezer for nearly the entire summer. Shame on you Samsung! If you cant support your products with tech support, dont try and sell them to us in the public sector. I am extremely angry and will share this with everyone that I can.
OK so we have a really nice over the range Samsung microwave that decides that its going to turn on by itself. The microwave got so hot that the glass plate inside broke when my husband opened the microwave door. The glass almost hit him in the face when it broke. He immediately unplugged it. However Samsung believes that because the warranty is up they are not responsible to replace or repair the damage. We will see about that!!!
Unbelievable that junky! It was just little less than 3 years, I thought I pay what I should deserve, so I bought a top of the line Samsung refrigerator, it cost me almost $4,000. In lately it has a lot of problems, 1) first the bottom freezer fan broke down. 2) Yesterday the ICE maker and the defroster broke down. Two times repair, parts and labour total cost $1,100. Extremely disappoint.... its only look good.
Unbelievable how the finish deteriorated with minimal and extremely careful use and meticulous care. It is destroyed in a few months. It warrants them replacing it. Stay away from Samsung electric glass top ranges. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I do have an extended warranty so if anything covered goes wrong they will get it back.
After reading Consumers Report Magazine and choosing the top rated products, we went to Best Buy and purchased all three appliances at once. The Oven started smoking (first time used), filled the house with toxic smoke, burnt my ladys face. The microwave exhaust fan never turned on. All this happened within the first time we used the oven. The side by side refrigerator started leaking water and wont stop leaking (water dispenser). Samsung sent out repairman for the range-oven, ordered parts then came back out to finish repairs, tried to use oven again, oven went up in smoke again. SoCalGas Co. came out and RED-tagged the Range-Oven. So far Samsung has blamed us for all the problems. We had to hire an attorney to handle this mess. Samsung has problems with their phones, washing machines, ranges, microwaves, and refrigerators. I wonder whats next?
I purchased the French door model RF217 under two years ago and for the last year, the veggie bins have continuously filled with water. Water also collects under the bins. It is really quite a pain.
1st no one to repair the appliance (therefore no more Samsung appliances). 2nd dishwasher lasted 14 months 800$. 3rd, only my wife and I used it twice a week.MOST IMPORTANT WHO DO I NOTIFY (LOWES WAS NO HELP).
Samsung dishwasher a major POS! Even brand new out of the box it never worked right. A hole in the washer kept setting off the water detection alarm which shut the cycle off. Had someone out, couldnt find it... you know the rest. Out of warranty. Good luck sir. Thank you very much! I wouldnt pay to fix this garbage but I will put the cash down on some other brand.
I bought a Samsung refrigerator, model @ RF263BEAESR in Aug 2012. First off, the handle broke off within a year and a half or so. I find the parts list online & email Samsung to ask how to locate them and buy them, as a couple of them didnt have part #s on the schematic. They proceed to tell me that they cannot sell me these parts, that I would need to contact a Samsung authorized repair person. Fast forward to 6-2016. The ice maker has continually frozen up for the past couple of months. Then all of a sudden, the fan starts making a loud noise. Then I realize that the unit is not as cool as it is supposed to be after purchasing a thermometer and setting it inside.Luckily, I purchased the extended warranty through the company I bought it from, however, the warranty contract will only allow $125 reimbursement in spoiled food. When I went through all of the food, I tallied it all up and it totaled over $208!! I am angry that Samsung has made such a shoddy product and no recall has been issued for this fridge. IMO, a fridge should last longer than 3 years before having cooling issues. I have owned others for many, many more years and never had a cooling problem with those.Apparently, this is a well known issue that the unit freezes up in the coil/ fan area, yet Samsung has not issued a recall, just a service bulletin! I threw away $2300 on this fridge and it looks like I will be forced to search for another one. I also own a Samsung dishwasher (has been worked on twice since purchased in 2013) and washer (has been worked on once since purchased in 2013) and dryer (crossing my fingers on that one!) Had I have known that they do not care about their customers and making things right, I would have never purchased any of their products! I know I wont be a repeat customer!!!
My appliances are not a year old. Spray arm fell off dishwasher. Microwave is a piece of garbage. Refrigerator/freezer makes so much noise that we have to close our bedroom door to sleep because it sounds as if someone is trying to break in. I am so disappointed. I have had to call Samsung for support and am amazed. You can not understand the service representatives. The service representatives know absolutely nothing and continuously put you on hold for long periods of time. Who has time for this? Many dont they stand behind these supposedly top of the line products that cost a fortune? What can I do?
$800 Samsung dishwasher leaked within the first few months. Tech never could fully resolve the issue. We purchased the nearly $200 extended warranty because we knew it was junk. 14 months in LE code and leaking again. Call Samsung warranty dept. and they send it out for repairs. Repair company calls to verify that we know its out of warranty. We so know, its extended. They say that they dont do extended warranty work. Call Samsung back and they so, Oh, you have to call this number for extended warranty claims. I say, That is the very number I called and go you. They transfer me and I give them all of the data again (model number, warranty number, etc.) This person says, Oh, you need extended warranty and proceeds to give me the number I first called.I called the number that apparently sends you to a bunch of sadists claiming to be Samsung and give them the whole spiel again. They ask for all of the data again and then to my horror tell me to call the same number I used to call them again. Finally after much pleading they say they made an appointment with a service company. One day later service company calls to verify that this is a non-warranty service call. Very nice lady at service company says that this literally happens all day with Samsung and that shes very sorry, but doubts they will ever send over the proper reference number for it to be covered under its extended warranty.I call Samsung again and explain the situation and I swear on the entire universe they tell me once again that I must call the very number I just called to be currently speaking to them. They then give me the standard warranty number that they had given me previously and was then told by them to call the number I had just used once again. I finally get a supervisor and beg them just to admit that they are going to scam me until Ive gone crazy and to please, as another human being just admit it so I can move on and just write off the $1000 as a lesson learned.Nope, this physical manifestation of evil known as the Samsung CSR Supervisor then proceeds to tell me that they are giving me the Top Secret number that will literally get people jumping on my warranty needs. I believe this is the number Obama would call should his dishwasher quit working. I kid you not, he reads off the exact same 800 number I used to call them all of the times in the past. I had no response as I believe I had a small aneurysm and fell to the floor.I keep the evil little stainless steel monster in the garage for the day that I see Samsung have an event at Lowes or Best Buy with reps in attendance in their bright blue Samsung Polos. I am going to wheel it in and smash its evil, water pumping (although most is pumped out of the bottom of the washer) heart right in front of them.
I purchased a Samsung dishwasher 18 months ago. I have had issues almost since I purchased it. You turn it on and it runs about 15 seconds and then quits. I use to be able to start it three times and then it would run a complete cycle. Now it doesnt work at all. It cost over $600 and it was even purchased during Black Friday so it was a great deal, yeah right! Customer service is absolutely no help, all they offer to do is sell you an extended warranty. This is an ongoing issue, it should be a recall. Seems like this should have been fixed, I will never buy Samsung again. I also work at Home Depot so guess what... I will make sure I share my experience with customers, since Im in the appliance area. Karma...
RF260BEAEBC Side by side refrigerator with bottom freezer - Upper cabinet fan started hitting ice accumulations. Samsung would not cover even however Home Depot stood up and fixed that. There is water standing under the crisper tray ice now, another ice accumulation problem. DO not buy Samsung Refrigerators. Service and product from Samsung is zero.
To make a VERY long story short... Samsung apparently made thousands of filtration parts incorrectly - even their J & J official Parts technician said they were getting hundreds of call about the part not fitting into the Samsung refrigerator system. I have spent over 4 hours in the past several days trying to get some resolve and get this... Samsung agrees the part was made different than the previous part (the one that, ahem, FIT YOUR REFRIGERATOR!), and now we are to PAY someone to come out and change our refrigerator filtration system to fit their defective parts. Now, how will this work? Will they continue to made the poorly manufactured parts to fit the newer filtration system, or will they correct it and then I would again have a problem with the Samsung part fitting into my Samsung refrigerator. Why oh why didnt we go with a GE?!?
4-door stainless frig doors rusting - Purchased 5/12. Began noticing rust on lower doors within a few months which has since spread to all 4 doors. Requested service 9/14 after numerous calls to Samsung and Lowes with feedback that it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not addressed. Tech visited and confirmed rust on all doors. Cleaning product was approved stainless steel cleaner. 3 other stainless steel appliances in home have no rust (other brands). Purchased at Lowes online. Have been told by Lowes that Samsung doesnt warranty cosmetic issues. This is NOT a cosmetic issue but a moisture issue from inside the unit. Where there is moisture there is rust and potentially mold. For all we know the inside of the doors is covered with mold. Do not buy Samsung refrigerators... engineering/design issues without adequate product/service support!
Never have any ice! Ice maker very slow! Difficult removing vegetable and fruit drawers to clean underneath. Nice to the eye but freezer on bottom and lacking storage space. Does not get cold enough to prevent deli meats from spoiling within 3-4 days!
I needed a new refrigerator and wanted the bottom freezer and double door open. I saw this one online (store didnt have exact model on floor) and chose this because of the depth and the bottom freezer. The door to the left can hardly hold anything because the ice/water is there (my old fridge wasnt that bad in that area) and the right door can only hold 1 gallon of milk. The part that is really horrible is the fact that GNATS are constantly in my fridge! I have NEVER had Gnats in my fridge!!! I have no idea what is going on but the seals must not be great. I came home at lunch time and opened fridge to get lunch and there was a LIVE gnat! The fridge is set to almost the coldest temp. Beware if you buy.
Samsung is horrible! I purchased a Samsung Bottom Mount Freezer in April of 2010 from Sears. I was told that it was rated five stars by Consumer Reports. Best fridge out there for my price range, according to the sales guy. In August of 2011, my freezer section was heating up. To make a long story short, Samsung told me to deal with it since it has a one year warranty and they dont know how long their appliances last. I called every repair man in my area but no one will work on Samsung because they are so hard to deal with and get parts for.I ended up with Sears Home Appliance Repair. They are the only ones willing to work on this product. Three weeks later and $500.00 worth of meat spoiled, I get the guy to my house only to find out that my condenser and compressor are broken and heating up. Did I mention that I was also getting water in the fridge part under the cold cut drawer, which apparently was caused by a clogged drain line? Really. How does all this happen to a brand new fridge? It takes two weeks to get my parts only to find out that they were already broken when I received them.Another two weeks later, my fridge parts come in. Get this. The freezer section caught on fire as soon as the parts were put in by their certified technician. He soldered through my firewall and burnt out the whole bottom of my freezer. I am told that Samsung and/or Sears will replace the unit for free and that the fridge section is okay to use since the repairman took out all the bad parts. Two days later, the fridge caught on fire again. Luckily, I was home to throw it out my front door at 8 oclock on a Sunday night. My house smells like smoke, all my food is destroyed, and the service woman on the phone had the ** to tell me that I should be grateful that I was offered $500.00 in a voucher to Sears towards a new appliance since their service man did not want to do the job anyway. It took me six days of nonstop phone calls to customer service to get my money back--a full refund. If I did not take three hours a day out of my life to hound every person, I would still be waiting for those people to review my case. All I expect is a product that works longer than one year, is that so bad? And if, for some reason, beyond my control, that appliance stops working, is it wrong to ask for a fair treatment and a full refund to replace it? I had to work hard to get these Customer Service people to treat me like I was a customer. My advice is do not give up. Make them see that they cant keep doing this and get away with it.I am done with any Samsung appliance and I am done with shopping at Sears. They are unfair, rude and thieves. I am happy to get my money back so I can go buy a Frigidaire. They cost a little more but they work. I was fooled by the fancy lights and options. Now, I am going back to simple clean and reliable. Dont buy Samsung. If I wasnt home, what would have happened to my house when the fridge caught on fire? Buyers, beware! They dont care about you; they care about your money!
1 French door and freezer drawer developed rust bubbles under paint. Samsung said it was a cosmetic issue and not a warranty issue.
