My Viking is about a year old, and within this first year, Ive had to replace an igniter for the griddle on the top and the bulbs for all the lights in the front. Ive found that the preheating cycle on these ovens is extraordinarily long compared to most other ovens. I dont like the feature that while its preheating, you cant put anything in because it will just scald it. There are some ovens that even during the preheating cycle, you can start heating up something or put your food in there. I do all my baking in my $500 gas oven because I just turn it on and I stick my stuff in. But I dont even use the oven of the Viking because it takes about 20 minutes just to preheat. I cant put anything in until the light turns off and its ready. Also, the ceramic paint on the top of my stove has already started to chip off so Ive had to put touch-up paint on it. I had a Dacor stovetop before this and I had it for 15 years, and the ceramic or painted metal part at the top never had any kind of scratching or damages. When I bought this Viking I thought, Wow, Ive got the top-of-the-line. I spent a lot of money. This is gonna be the best. But the burners have been very nice. I enjoy cooking on the gas burners.

The Viking Refrigerator just came with my house and I dont really like it. If it were me, I would not have bought that one. I dont like the fact that I have to open both of the doors just to get something from the long drawer at the bottom. That drives me crazy because we had an old fridge that I didnt have to do that. I also dont understand why it doesnt have water in it. I dont know if thats an option I could have had, but this home did not come with that in it and its a nice feature.

The Viking range fits nicely in my kitchen. The convection oven is my favorite. Moreover, the reps at my Viking dealer were great. The only problem I have with the range is one of the knobs is a little scratchy to rotate.

The third technician on the fourth trip out to visit my fridge was able to accurately diagnose the problem. The fourth technician on the fifth trip out was able to successfully repair the unit once the parts arrived after my goading to have them shipped overnight rather than the typical shipping method of bicycle messenger. I was refunded the over $500 I had paid for parts and labor, as at the end of the day it was a warranty covered issue. Since the problem did eventually get resolved to my satisfaction, I upped my star rating from a one to a three. I cant in good conscience go higher than that because it took five trips over almost two months to get to the resolution.

We purchased an entire suite of professional-grade Viking kitchen appliance
We purchased an entire suite of professional-grade Viking kitchen appliances. My wife is a very good cook, so she wanted a gas range with Viking as a name, and we thought the refrigeration would be good too. However, I just had somebody come in to repair my refrigerator cause its a defect. The drain was not designed properly, so it would basically freeze up or clog up at the end of the day and then back up. And then, I ended up with ice below my freezer tray. It would melt on the door below the freezer door and then get my floor wet. As a result, I have cupping on my wood floor. So, not only did I pay the repair company that just recently came over $170-$200, which I havent even been reimbursed yet for, but I also have damaged floor.I havent had Viking contact me regarding that yet, and that was something I was expecting a call on. I reached out to them first, and they informed me that if it was a sealed component, it would be covered under warranty but if it wasnt, it wouldnt be. I ordered a part for the snap tray from a repair company, and I asked about the refrigerator and its leaking characteristics. They mentioned that there was a fix for it, and Viking knows about it. A notice was sent out and apparently, Viking has amnesia with that. They dont know of any notice. Theres no recall, yet its clearly a defective product.

Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts take WEEKS to get. And when they do arrive they dont always work. I have had my Viking range since 2006. In the beginning we had to have the ignitor switches replaced. I believe it was under warranty at the time. The smoke eliminator fell out of the larger oven but it is very difficult for the homeowner to replace as the heating element covers the area where the casing of the smoke eliminator and I do not feel comfortable removing the heating element. Another issue that we have had is the self-cleaning on the small oven stopped working. I have since figured the issue out that the door wasnt closing enough for the self-clean to work. I now need to push the door tightly closed until the self-cleaning function kicks in.Now comes my biggest issue. On the morning of December 25, 2016, I cooked a breakfast casserole in the larger oven. Later in the morning I went to put the turkey in the larger oven to find that there was no heat. The fan continued to run but neither the broiler or bake element would work. I called one of the two certified Viking specialists in my area. They couldnt come out until December 29. Once they arrived they called Viking who told them that I needed a new circuit board. I had issues with getting in touch with the Viking recommended Mr. Appliance after I put down a 50% deposit and was forced to call another Viking recommended certified appliance repair company. The second company called Viking Range and ordered the parts that were needed for the repair. It took 3 weeks to get the parts because they were in production. The parts finally came in and the repair guy came out to the house, put the part in... it didnt work. The circuit board was faulty. He then tried to move the small oven circuit board to the larger oven and it shorted because once he tried to put it back into the small oven it didnt work.So now I sit here on February 20, 2017, almost TWO MONTHS LATER, with no oven at all (it was difficult only having access to an oven that only holds a 9x13 pan) and no stove top (one of the repair guys told us that we had to disconnect the gas in order to repair so we had to hire a plumber to come out to disconnect the gas for the low low price of $130. That was done on 1/3/17). I have since had to purchase a countertop burner because I am assuming these parts will take weeks to get. Every Appliance Repair company complains about how hard it is to get in touch with Viking Range. I am fed up with Viking Range and will never recommend their products to anyone, especially for the price.UPDATED ON 04/07/2017: I continue to stand by my stance on NOT purchasing Viking products. It took close to $1700!!! (Over $1200 was for parts alone - several that werent needed had Viking been able to figure out what was wrong with the oven) and close to THREE AND A HALF MONTHS TO FIX my range. First due to the fact that circuit boards are manufactured by different companies and thus are not made the same so they need to be rewired to adapt to your oven. Second, parts take a long time to get. 2-3 weeks was the average time it took to get my parts. Third, Viking has a problem figuring out what is wrong with their OWN product.

I purchased a 6 burner range with a grill in the middle. The center started to sag. I called the authorized service person in my area and he said he had installed a kit to fix the problem that Viking provided but that it wouldnt be free because my unit was no longer under warranty. He said the center grill wasnt properly supported so over time it sagged with heat or pressure. I complained to Viking because this was a defect they knew about. First excuse: they said they couldnt help because my unit wasnt properly registered even though the matching fridge was. I provided proof of purchase (original receipt) so they registered my unit. Second excuse: there was no kit ever produced perhaps because so few people complained. I said a manufacturing defect is a defect. They should fix it even if only one complained. I mentioned the repairman had fixed the problem for others and gave them his contact info. They said they would follow up but never did.

Viking has top quality and I love it. Also, it’s simple to use. I had a LG previously and it had all the million different settings and bells and whistles, but I never used any. I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and they’ve been very helpful. I called them once to get the correct model numbers for the product registration and then I also did two follow-up calls to the parts department because my 1-year old slammed into the freezer and dented it. So, I had to order the freezer door. And it was really easy to do. I would highly recommend them.

Ive always known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time and it was in the house that we purchased. There was a Viking Range, a Viking refrigerator, and a stove then. I was replacing an existing Viking refrigerator that was about 17 or 18 years old. It was built-in so I was looking for something that would fit into the exact space where it was. And when I went to the appliance store, the salesperson at the appliance store steered me to Viking. I was buying a refrigerator and a dryer that day and he showed me something else but he strongly suggested the Viking and since I didn’t have any negative feelings about Viking, I went with it. This refrigerator will be the third refrigerator and the first one kept having problems. It would freeze up and the icemaker wouldn’t work. The refrigerator section would heat up to about 43 degrees and the freezer would get down incredibly cold. I had six service calls on it and finally, the service guy said, “I think we need to get this thing replaced.†So Viking replaced it after several weeks and sent a new one out to Asien’s Appliance here in Santa Rosa and they delivered it. However, the guys that delivered it couldn’t align the doors properly. The refrigerator section was about half inch or a bit lower. The door was lower than the freezer side so I called the people that handle the warranty repairs again and the guy came out and looked at it. He said that there was something wrong with it and maybe it was dropped. He couldn’t fix it and jury-rigged it so the door worked. For a while, the door wouldn’t even close but then he worked on it again and he got the door to close by taking some part out. I got word that Viking set up a delivery of a replacement for that one. This will be the third one and hopefully, it will be okay. I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend but at least Viking is faithfully standing by their warranty.

Viking is a well-known name in the industry and their range was the highest and top of the line range we can use without a direct overhead exhaust. However, we didnt have a good experience with it. Every time the exhaust fan came on, it vibrated and made a terrible noise. It was intolerable. Their service guy said it wasnt leveled but it was leveled fine when it was installed. Nobody could figure out why it was making the noise when the exhaust fan came on. I said, Obviously, somethings loose. Its vibrating. And it took them seven trips, two different service companies, to figure out what it was and it doesnt do it anymore. It was very frustrating on our behalf. Wed probably not buy their product again because of that. It was also delivered with a broken grate on top too. I had to go into the showroom and exchange it for the grate they had on the display. From day one, when it was delivered with a broken grate, right away I was upset. If I spent $500 or $1,200 for a range, Im okay. But it was $5,000 so Im expecting something to be worth $5,000, not a vibrating thing that was making noise. I have a service contract that I paid another $500 for so they have to come to me. It looks beautiful and it works great now, but the first year and a half was a disaster. And Im not quite sure how they fixed it and if its gonna hold up long enough. It was probably dropped or mishandled during its original shipment from its factory to its final destination that was why these problems came. Till today, its working fine, but Im not happy with the whole experience and would definitely not recommend it.

We werent originally getting Viking Refrigerators but after looking at refrigerators, I liked the features on it and the quality of the refrigeration is good. It has the two doors on top and a door freezer. I like that the ice tray is not in the door because you lose space when it’s in the door, that was why we ended up going with Viking. I originally wanted refrigerators with the ice maker in the door, but it doesn’t work well with this kind of model. We got the Viking also because when you pull the ice tray, there are three drawers that pull out so when you do one pull of the drawer on the outside, the ice tray drawer comes out as well. It’s magnetized to the door and that’s a big feature. A lot of times with the other refrigerators. Once you open the drawer and then you get to pull another rack to get the ice, it’s two steps, which is annoying. This way, you pull it once and then you can get the ice. But when it was delivered, they took that feature off. It was on the showroom floor, but then they changed the model and they no longer did that feature so a part was ordered for us to put the back of that on the door. So now, it’s magnetized and the ice tray drawer pulls out. They were able to do that but they should put that feature back in. That was the selling feature for us. Thank goodness they were able to retrofit that. We had a problem with the doors. When you look at the two top doors, there’s a weave in the stainless steel on one side and there’s none in the other so we had the salesperson from Appliance World come in and checked it. She came, verified it and then went back to the reps who deal with the Viking people. They said that cosmetic problems are supposed to be told within three months, and we were six months out. I’m going to call my sales rep and tell her that I was not happy with that. She saw that there was a problem and I was told that one side door will be switched out. The other sales rep from Appliance World that deals with the repair people said, “You’re out of warranty. Sorry. Bye.†She wasn’t very nice. She also said, “I deal with these people all the time. Viking is not going to change their mind. Blah, blah, blah.†The other reason that we liked the feature is that we were able to create this to make it look like a built-in because Viking simply gives built-in refrigerator and this particular model is the only one they make that’s not a built-in. We have custom cabinetry so they made it look like it was a built-in and it came out nice. We didn’t want to spend the money on a built-in and this is not a built-in but we can make it look like one.

We were renovating a house ten years ago and the Viking refrigerator was going to fit in to the architectural design better than anything else because it was a built-in. The Viking dealer we dealt with was courteous and friendly. But my Viking refrigerator failed. It had an uneven box or something was wrong with its door, so Viking had to replace it. It was out of warranty so they gave me a new unit at half-price. At that point, they also offered to give me a freezer at a half-price, which I did take. But there are now icicles in the freezer. Theres a leak that they cant fix. So Im waiting for Viking to call because it looks like theyre going to have to replace the freezer again. The service is fine but the wait is crappy. The service takes a while because there arent enough techs in the area. Maybe the service tech is servicing such a large area that its a long wait time to get somebody to come and look at the machine. Theyve got one service guy in Northern Illinois who services the Milwaukee area. So theyre hard to schedule. Im frustrated because their products are so expensive. I have not had the best experience.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray
The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

We purchased this unit, Viking Refrigerator DDSB423SS, when we remodeled ou
We purchased this unit, Viking Refrigerator DDSB423SS, when we remodeled our kitchen in September of 2006 at a cost of $6,000! We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. We have had ongoing issues with the unit, but most recently it has become unbearable. On Feb 17, 2012, the unit stopped cooling. Everything in the freezer melted. I contacted Carl Schaedel & Co, the authorized repair company in my area. They could not come to diagnose the problem until 11 days later, February 28th. When they came, I had to pay them $189 for the service call. I then received a call from the office indicating that it was a problem with the sealed system, and that the cost of parts and labor to repair the unit was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, but my $189 fee was not returnable. Furthermore, the first available appointment to come to do the repair was three weeks later, March 19th! Mind you, both my husband and I work for a living, so in addition to not having a refrigerator, we have to take time off from work to deal with this. On March 19th, 2012, the service man came and replaced the mother board. The refrigerator appeared to be working after the mother board was installed. He told me to wait 24 hours before using, which we did. After 24 hours it seemed okay, it was making ice etc. So, I went grocery shopping and purchased $175 worth of fresh and frozen items, put them in the unit and 6 hours later, I opened the freezer and everything had melted. Furthermore, now there appears to be a broken gasket, which was not broken prior to the service call, so the door is not sealing properly when closed. On March 21, my husband called Carl Schaedel again. At this point, he was angry and frustrated so he gave the long list of issues over the years and then indicated that the March 19th repair did not fix the problem and he also mentioned the broken gasket. It took 8 days to get another service call. On March 28, a different repair person came to the house. He walked in to the house and within 30 seconds said that it’s not a problem with the mother board, it’s something else. But he did not have the part on the truck. He will have to order the part! He did however have the new gasket which he put on the door and then told my husband to pay him for that since its not covered under warranty! My husband made him put the broken gasket back on. Why on earth would we pay for a repair to a refrigerator we cant use anyway? So today is March 30. I have just gotten off the phone with Carl Schaedel customer service rep again, asking when the tech will come to do the repair. I was told that she does not have the report from the tech yet, that it usually takes 24 hours. Okay, well its been 36 hours. I am now waiting for her to call me back, to tell me when they will come and whether or not it is covered under the warranty! We have been without a fridge for 6 weeks now. We have two kids and have been living out of a cooler! Doing our best to shop for breakfast and lunch items that dont require refrigeration but dinners have been tough, so we have been eating out most nights which we cannot afford! We also have a Viking 6 burner range which also had problems and had to be repaired several times, but that is another long story and my major concern right now is the fridge, as the situation is really debilitating. We are, beside ourselves and after reading the numerous other complaints, it appears we are not alone. Is there nothing that can be done? I am sure the CEO of Viking is very well to do, at the expense of us consumers. I have seen references to a class action suit. I am willing to participate, will even take a leadership role in making it happen, but I have no idea how to go about this. Can anyone assist? Please?!

The range came with our house and the quality is not very good. It is not self-cleaning, which I dont like. It cooks food. But they can upgrade the design. It’s a large oven but its insufficient to put two standard sized cookie trays side by side. So you get this bigger oven but theres no benefit of the oven, only the benefit of the extra burners on top. We had to get an extra oven. Maybe their top-of-the-line models are better. This is an entry level model but its still a $5,000 oven. Its three years old and its already had two service calls. The warranty is only two years. The oven wouldnt light and the burners on top are sporadic in their lighting. Ive had cheaper ovens that are way better. I’d never buy another Viking. The service people were great to a degree. They were responsive. They came out and they charged me for the replacement pieces. They were gonna look into whether they could get a courtesy warranty on another part, but they never followed up. The people at Viking themselves who I contacted because there was a recall on some of these ovens confirmed my recall was not there. Even though I found some other parts that were not adjusted correctly at the factory and I had to pay to have the service guy readjust them, they said, “Thats too bad. It’s out of warranty.â€

I bought a house with a Viking refrigerator in it and since they have a good reputation, we bought a new one to replace the old Viking fridge. The dealer wasnt completely honest though. They said the fridge was a year old and the service person let us know that its older than that. We got a floor model and when it was installed, it wasnt installed completely, so it leaked into the bedroom downstairs. When the service technician came in a couple of days ago, he found that there was a connector at the top of the fridge that wasnt connected, so the shut-off for water overflow was never turned on and the pan under the fridge was overflowing and leaking into the bedroom downstairs. Still, its a nice fridge and we like it, including the look.

I love my Viking range. What I don’t like about it is when the knobs get a little bit older, the numbers rub off of them, and you cant use it. I never would have bought a Viking because of that reason at all. All my friends that have Viking, once their stove is a couple of years old, you can’t read anything on it. Wherein the Wolf stove, the numbers are embedded into the knobs so even if the paint wears off on them, you still have the numbers. The install of the Viking range was easy. But once it was installed, when I ran the convection fan, it was rubbing into something behind the stove. But the technician tried to come out and fix it to me. The other problem that I noticed with the Viking that Im gonna have to modify was I ordered the extended backsplash for it, and it doesnt fit. It was the proper extended backsplash for it so what I have to do is the stove has to be cut in order to accommodate the bigger backsplash. The backsplash is sitting at my house, unused, because Im going to wait for the factory warranty to expire on this, then Im going to cut the back of the stove and fit it.

I like the aesthetics of the Viking Range and the way it fits in the kitchen. It’s also decent quality. There are higher-end ones but I’m not one that’s gonna spend that kind of money, and even this is overkill. But this would be a better choice. Also, at the time that we bought it, there was a rebate on the range with the hood so that also persuaded us a bit.

The Viking refrigerator is horrific and I never would have purchased this product but unfortunately, it came with the house. It was a brand-new, unused refrigerator and yet we had nine repairs on it. The builder worked really hard to get a new one as replacement but it also broke down and, to make it even more insulting, that happened on the day of delivery. It got repaired that day but it’s already starting to show the problem with the frosting and the freeze so we are so done with Viking. We got a Viking Refrigerator three months ago. The freezer stopped working, we called the service and the lady who talked to me on the phone was rude. They sent someone and he found that the fan was broke. They came again last week, they ordered a new fan and they put it in. The fan was working, but the problem was not solved. The problem was the freezer temperature was 14 degrees higher than preset. And the refrigerator part, the upper shelf temperature was 10 degrees below the preset, so all the yogurt are frozen. I called them again and they will send another company to fix it. Its an expensive piece we paid for. Its not even as good as the cheap refrigerator we bought from Fensa. I suggest quality control.

When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I haven’t used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I can’t use the fridge because I’m trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I don’t understand why it can’t be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this won’t happen to someone else again. I don’t know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. It’s not normal so it was a little frustrating.

Range arrived on schedule and was installed without a problem. Immediately I noticed a positive cooking experience. The burners heated my stainless pans quickly and evenly. They do not burn even at high temperatures. All four 1500 degree burners provide the same positive experience. The electric convection oven is easy to use and also provides even heating throughout.

Beware of purchasing Viking Appliances!!! We purchased a Viking Range, double oven and beverage from Macon Appliance Store in Franklin, NC and spent almost $18,000 only to find out that Viking only carries a 2 year warranty. We had Blossom Gas come out to inspect our gas and they discovered there was a leak coming from the gas range. We contacted Macon Appliance and a repairman contacted us and set up a service call. It was discovered that the gas range had a gas leak and parts were ordered. On 10/31/19 the serviceman returned with the parts to repair our gas range. It was at this time that he informed us that we owed $670.00 because the 2 yr warranty had expired. Needless to say I was livid as what company sells such expensive appliances with a 2 yr warranty. The appliances were delivered in Aug 2017 but our home was not completed until the later part of September. I have also read other reviews from customers that had the same problem with a gas leak so this is obviously a problem with Viking gas ranges yet your company wants to gauge customers that are paying high prices for these appliances with a warranty that is worth nothing. Even Lowe’s, Home Depot and other companies offer a 5 yr warranty and much better service. I will NEVER purchase another Viking appliance again and will ensure that I let people know about the terrible quality of service that Viking provides. It is a shame that a company like yours takes people for their money. I contacted your customer service to report this only to speak with a representative that was rude. I asked her to have a supervisor contact me and I never received a callback. I am also contacting the BBB to report this matter!

I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August
I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August 2014 as display model. I was told by the salesman that it had a full warranty. We also discussed with a Viking rep who was there setting up other models and he indicated the benefits of the range. In January the left burners quit working and there was a flash code for the burners. I called Viking to inquire about the warranty and found the unit was registered to another person who bought it 1 year earlier. I did not know it was pre-owned and would not have purchased it if it was. From the Viking customer service rep I learned it had a history of two repair calls including a replaced control board ($800.00 part cost). The code on the induction top indicated that it may be a generator board (there is one for each side) with a part cost of about $1200.00. They also indicated it was out of warranty. I have talked to the store, Viking techs, independent service tech and there has been no resolution to my issue. The code has changed since the initial event. Since there seems to be a need for a second module, is this a problem with this model or is this one a lemon. Viking did have a 5 year limited warranty on the induction top and modules in the past this but no longer true. I would like a resolution to this issue.

I wanted the French doors on top and the drawer at the bottom. That month,
I wanted the French doors on top and the drawer at the bottom. That month, Viking came out with a new model but it did not have the water dispenser either inside or on the door and that was something I was looking for because everywhere that I did research on, the word was that there was a glitch with every refrigerator that has either a water dispenser inside or outside and you always have to buy the filter. I thought that was a hassle so I was pleased that Viking came out with a model that didnt have that. It was also a good made on their part because the one they had before the new model had an internal water dispenser and I dont drink cold water. I like either tepid or hot water so this refrigerator was made for my needs. It was perfect. But the crisper drawers would ice up and there would be big chunks of ice there. They wouldnt thaw out so I would have to go at it with an ice pick. Viking brought a technician over to try and fix it but he said he couldnt do a fix. He said the refrigerator was a lemon. He worked on other refrigerators of Viking and they were fine. Mine was the only model where the defrost wasnt working. But they couldnt repair it so they swapped it out with a new refrigerator. And I love the meat drawer of the new refrigerator. It keeps the meats colder so that it lasts a little longer. If I dont use the meat thats in there for three days, it would still be okay. I also like the freezer drawer. The fridge I had before I remodeled my kitchen was a side by side door. By then side by side refrigerators were not that well made because all the refrigerator manufacturers were moving toward the French doors with the drawer freezer. Some people say that one of the problems is when you have the drawer that pulls out, youre always fishing for space. But I find that I didnt have to do that because within the freezer, theres two pull out and one at the bottom. I can always see whats there which is nice. And then all of the freezer baskets that pull out, theyre all wire baskets and not solid panels so the frozen food gets frozen hard.I also like the fact that the lighting is in the front. In the Hotpoint refrigerator we had before we remodeled, the light is in the back of the refrigerator. So if I have any item thats tall enough, itll block the lights and I dont get the light in the front. But with Viking, they put the light in the front and the lighting is good. I can see everything so Im impressed with that, too. So overall, I like the layout and the one that I bought was counter depth which is nice too. The Hotpoint refrigerator that we had stuck way out in front of the cabinet so everyone is always bumping into it. So now being counter depth, theres enough room in the inside, too. Its a little bigger than my Hotpoint but efficiency-wise, its all around so much better. The delivery person had to deliver and install it and he was very conscientious about not marring the parquet hardwood floors and all of the other stuff. They made sure before he left that everything was up and running very well. I was impressed with the installer they hired as well. They didnt cut corner on service and didnt corner on the refrigerator which is nice. But Im most impressed with the Viking service. Usually, companies dont replace defective products. They keep sending a technician once a month to try to mess with it. Viking couldnt repair the fridge so they swapped it out with a new refrigerator and Im pleased with the decision. I never had that before so that was quite a statement as to how well Viking stand behind their product.

Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but thats okay.

We purchased a new Viking all refrigeration unit and it has been nothing but trouble. Ice forms on the back wall and around the fan unit. The fan started to make a terrible noise because it was hitting the ice. Hadco (the Viking rep in Florida) has sent repairmen a number of times, but the issue is still not solved. It appears to me to be an engineering problem as there is no positive seal when the door closes. This would allow humidity to build up inside the unit. We have used Sub Zero before, but the Viking unit appeared to be better designed - it is not. I am in the process of trying to arrange for a replacement refrigerator.

We liked the functionality of the Viking Ranges, the induction on one side, gas and griddle. When I was getting my range, it was quick because it was on the floor and they wanted to get it out as soon as possible. So through TA Appliances, I got it within a week or so. Then I had an appliance guy who came in, installed a power cord, and put it in for me. We use our stove quite a bit and in terms of functionality, it’s very good. But I ran into one problem that is currently being looked into. The ignition of my backburner is not coming on and not lighting that well. I called the TA Appliance guy who I got the range from and he set things up so that I was called by whoever the service team is here close to me. They were okay but some better communication as to what the problem was in the process would have been appreciated. I had to call a few times to really understand what the holdup was on getting parts. They said that they couldnt get parts over right away, but that wasnt communicated well.Other than that, my Viking range is fantastic. There are two ovens and theres a small oven on the right side. It would have been nice to get a second rack in there since we often have multiple things in there because of the conduction. There are three positions you can put the racks in but I couldnt find one. Theres none on the website or anywhere you can buy one. Itd be nice to grab some of those kind of accessories. But I managed to get a bamboo cutting board cover for the griddle and that worked out nicely.

In March 2016, I spent 17,000 on a Viking professional oven and refrigerator. The oven broke TWICE within the first 6 months. Last week... just over 1.5 years after purchase... the refrigerator went out. Seriously?! I thought I was spending a large amount of money for a better than average product. The Kenmore refrigerator in my garage lasted 10 years, and my Sub-Zero lasted 20! When I called customer service, it took 2 days for them to tell me they would be out in 8 more days! No. They final acquiesced and agreed to come earlier... but they tried to make me wait more than a week. I threw away several hundred dollars worth of food and, evidently, several thousand dollars on sub-standard, overpriced professional appliances. I would steer anyone away from Viking!!! I purchased mine at Best Buy in Houston, and fell for the quality sales pitch. So far, just a quality price tag.

We were in the midst of buying a new range and I wanted to see which one was rated the best. We found one that had a good rating and thats what we went in to go look at at PC Richard. But then, my wife saw Viking and the store was running a really good sale on it. My wife liked the way the Viking range looked and she said she always wanted one, so we got one. When we bought it, PC Richard gave my wife a free five-year plan and they also claimed that we can return something within 30 days if we werent happy with it. It wasnt in a day or two when we smelled gas leaking. We called PC Richard and they told us we had to call Viking. Nobody would come out unless we call the gas company to come out. So, the gas company had to come out and they had to sniff on the range to determine that it was leaking and it wasn’t the gas pipe. We called Viking back, they sent a serviceman out, it has been a couple of days and were still waiting for Viking to give the parts to the serviceman so he can come in and install it. It’s been going on a little over a week now. With the amount of money we paid and the range giving us a problem on the first day, my wife wanted to send it back. Then, all of a sudden, PC Richard said, “You cant.†They pointed to this little obscure sign in the back of the counter that says, “No returns on appliances.†My wife wasnt happy with that. We didnt see it at that time and it wasnt brought up when we bought the range that you dont have any options. We researched Viking and found online that people were having problems with them. People complained about the service and the length of time to get parts. We brought that up when we ordered the range because we went to PC Richard to cancel the next day before we even accepted and they kept telling to us how great the range was. It was just a sales pitch. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy Viking.

My friend has a Viking range and hes had it since the mid 90s. Weve been to his house and used it numerous times. When we bought our house, it had a Thermador stove range and it started to die this year. It was 20 years old and the parts were unavailable anymore and Thermador wouldnt give us anything to help us out to replace it. So we got a Viking range and we have it for a month now. We like that the cooking temperature in the oven is accurate, and that its a professional size. It has six burners which is great on holidays. During the week, I just keep a griddle on the middle too. But for holidays, its perfect for doing all that cooking. The Viking range is made well and theyre made to last, unlike the newer ovens that are out there that last four or five years, and then you have to replace them.We got the range from Gerhards and the guy that we worked with was nice but he didnt have a really good knowledge of all the brands. When the installation guys unpacked the range and put it in, I asked where was the backsplash and they told me that I had to order it extra as it didnt come with this model. I would have bought it initially with the range if I had known that it didn’t come with any backsplash because it comes flat with just a small bump in the back for the heat distribution from the oven. So the guy at the store wasnt a great salesman. We bought a dishwasher from them previously and their installers were terrible, so I was a little leery of going back. But theyre a local company that has been in business for generations. The installers for this range were much nicer than the installer for the dishwasher. So, they did a much better job. But overall, Viking is a wonderful range and Id definitely recommend them to a friend.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. Weve been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what were used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didnt clean as much as we thought. We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. I called at 9:00 and I chose mountain time because we live in Colorado, and they said that they were closed, but it was almost nine oclock and I havent heard anything back. We purchased a Viking Gas Range this summer for our kitchen renovation. We were excited about our purchase as we had saved up for this particular gas range. After install, we have been less than impressed. When preheating, the gas oven makes a very loud bang! (As if metal is expanding inside.) It scares me every time I hear it, even though I know its coming. When I called customer service, I was told once that it was normal and a second time, I was put on hold for 20 + minutes, only to hang up because I didnt feel my concern was being valued. We also smell a very strong smell of gas or exhaust when the gas oven is on.My concern is that the loud bang and smell of gas/exhaust should not be present in an appliance that is so expensive. We expected higher quality when we made this purchase. Ive tried calling customer service and entering a claim on the website (which seems to be permanently down and unable to accept claims online). I want to be in love with this purchase, but Im not. In fact, I feel a little uneasy using the gas oven due to the experience Ive had so far.

We purchased a Viking range in 1996 for $4,000. We began having problems with the oven igniters not working, therefore could not use the oven. We had them replaced the first time, at the cost of $217.89 on 12-23-98. This problem has recurred on a regular basis. We have replaced the igniters repeatedly on: 8-12-02 for $271.25, 7-13-06 for $310.00, 2-17-10 for $245.05, 1-21-10 for $265.26, and 8-09-11 that cost $402.95. Two days after the last repair, on 8-11-11, the igniters again would not work.As I write this today, I am without the use of my range again and find myself waiting for repairs to the same one later this week. This has become a nightmare! We have spent nearly $2,000 in repairing the same defective part over and over again. We are retired and cannot afford to keep replacing the igniters that are defective. The range is totally unreliable. I never know if it is going to light when I turn it on. We have used only repair services that are officially recommended by Viking. Our calls and concerns to Viking go nowhere.Upon investigating further, I have found that the igniters have been a constant problem in these Viking ranges and they were forced to redesign the igniter/burners system in the newer ranges. Where does that leave those of us who own these lemons? I would like to consider taking action against Viking.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

Our old Viking Refrigerator was unimpressive for the price. It was just an ordinary refrigerator with a Viking label on it. It was eight years old and a particular part broke. We could have fixed the thing for $200 but they discontinued that part and it was not available. They supposedly keep spare parts for 10 years, but I suspect that this part was defective or broke a lot, so they ran out. So our opinion of Viking is not very good.We bought a new refrigerator and it was the only one that fit in the space that we had. It also costs $1,000 more than other virtually identical refrigerators made by the same company. There were also other better refrigerators that are too tall. The new refrigerators drawers and shelves worked better than the old ones. Its a decent refrigerator, but all refrigerators in that price range are at least as good. Theres nothing special about it.

Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

I had a Wolf and a Sub-Zero. We moved from out of state and they have a Viking stove in the house. Ive heard some good things about the Viking. Since I have a Viking stove, I got the refrigerator as well. However, Im very disappointed with the refrigerator because it was only three months old and one of the blades of one of the fans inside was already broken and another fan wasnt hooked up in the bottom. I had water dripping from the door on my fourth floor. For a brand new refrigerator and for what we paid for, that was not acceptable. My husband made the appointment to have it fixed and his interaction with Vikings customer service rep was very nice. A tech came out and it didnt take him long to fix the refrigerator.

We built our house two years ago and put in over $60,000 in Viking appliances double over, two dishwashers, stove top, microwave, outdoor grill, fridge, and under counter fridge. I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. Last week when my one year old daughter opened the door of my under counter fridge, the whole door fell off and landed on her leg, trapping her under the 70 lb door. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. The house that I bought had the Viking range in it. Im really happy with my experience with it. I love the center stove. Its huge and it helps me put my plate in there and then make pancakes for the whole house which is very convenient. However, in terms of difficulty, its just very hard to know what temperature the oven reached and how long that would take. Because it doesnt have the setting to say, Okay, pre-heat it. I have to go at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit. And theres no way that tells me that its ready at 400. One time I had one knob that my son broke so I had to call them. But it was out of warranty, so they just said it was out of warranty. I said, Okay, no problem. But they provided me information in terms of who can help me fix it. So I just called an external agency and then set it up with them. Id definitely recommend Viking to a friend.

I knew of Viking 30 years ago. I live near the North Shore which is a pretty area and Viking was all they had in their houses. Thats what they got and that’s what I wanted. It was either Viking or Wolf stoves we were looking at. Wolf only had built-in refrigerators but when we designed our kitchen, we didnt do a built-in area for the refrigerators. Viking had the range, the microwave, and the refrigerator so we went with them. We used Grand Appliances in Libertyville and they were phenomenal. I was a pretty savvy consumer so I went about and did my research before I went in. We had a saleswoman who was fantastic too.We like the Viking range. It works and I like the blue light. The only thing we dont like about it is it doesnt have a timer on there, like a digital display. It has the knob on it that tells the temperature, though. When Im cooking something in the oven, I have to set the timer. Other than that, every appliance in our kitchen is all Viking. We bought a Viking microwave, so we set the timer on that. Our dishwasher is Viking too. When we had one little problem with our refrigerator, they came out to fix it. Now, its making a knocking noise but hopefully, it will go away before we call back. Overall, Id recommend Viking.

We were building a home three years ago, and I looked up about Viking, Wolf and other ranges and decided to get a Viking. I thought it was a top-of-the-line product and I liked the sleek look of it compared to Wolf. Im now on my second Viking since the one that was initially put into my home did not heat properly and it did not cook right since the day it was installed. However, there is only one repair service here in Columbus that deals with Viking as far as I know. I keep being told thats because Viking is either charging too much money and/or wont supply the parts and I would love to see some more competition rather than just one repair service that I have to call and pay their prices to repair a Viking product. They showed us the pros and cons of each one, and what other consumers that purchased them liked over what model over the other, which led us back to the Viking. Viking had a sale going on. The refrigerator I was looking at was discounted and with the rebate I was getting, that put it in a price range that was comparable to Sub-Zero. Plus, the store was saying that they have had good success with the refrigerator and that people liked it. I decided to take a chance on their technology. So far, food doesnt go bad in it and I love it. The refrigerator has technology that pulls out the gas that makes food go bad. Before, I would wind up throwing so much food out because it goes bad by the time I get around to cooking. Now, I make less stops at the grocery store. Additionally, water that that comes from my Viking tastes really good. Its much better than the GE Monogram that I used to have. However, the ice maker has a little wire bar that comes down when the ice tray fills up. Its supposed to set off but then it goes a little overboard such that I find ice outside the ice tray. Still, this was the only thing that was wrong. This is the second Viking that I have had and I have been very pleased with the service. With the first one I had, there was moisture building up on the inside. Everything was getting wet inside that refrigerator and almost every day I had to wipe it down. I complained and Viking sent servicemen out a couple of times. They couldnt figure out why the door wasnt sealing properly. They told me that they couldnt figure out the issue and that they would just get me a new refrigerator. I didnt have to pressure them so much and they gave me a new unit that works. We saw at Best Buy that they had some Viking Ranges along with some other commercial brands. My wife was interested in a gas range with a black porcelain top. It came down to styling for us and we ended up with one from Viking. We like the appearance. However, Best Buys people really didn’t know a whole lot about Viking. Viking had a promotion going on with their commercial ranges where they provided a free dishwasher. Because we didn’t buy the professional line, we couldn’t get that promotion. It was a little disappointing ‘cause the stove we bought costs as much or more than the original professional model we were going to purchase. We’re also having problems with the Viking range as the oven hasn’t worked from day one and weve had it for over a month. We have an open service call right now and we’re waiting for parts. The service guy was out once but he didn’t have the right parts. He has to come back and hopefully, itll be this week. We had a Samsung top-of-the-line Chef Collection gas range in our old house right before this Viking range and it caused us nothing but grief. It’s a little disappointing for us to move up to Viking, which should be a higher class, and now we’re having problems with our brand new range. My wife likes the heat control of the Viking range, though, and that it simmers much better than the Samsung did. She loves the cooktop. We purchased a gas 48 inch Viking, 6 burner, 1 griddle range from a Viking Range Certified Kitchen company. In the first 3 years, under warranty, it was serviced 3 times for overheating and shutting off after 40 minutes at 400+ degrees. After the warranty lapsed, we had a 4th service call with estimated parts and repair at (00 for hinges. We were told the hinges were not holding the door to create a strong enough seal within the oven and the heat fried the control module. We contacted Viking Range, who agreed the hinges were a manufacturing defect and replaced the hinges. Six months later, using the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes-- it shuts off and the ignition spark went off (sparking but not catching for about 30 minutes until we had to pull the huge oven away from the wall and unplug it). Another service call, another $900 to explain why the oven overheats-- this time saying the seal on the door isnt trapping heat and the heat is again reaching the control module. This oven is defective, we have never been able to use it above 450, which is why I bought it in the first place. It was a $9,000 stove with a $2000 vent hood and over $3000 has been spent in under 5 years to maintain it. Viking Range will not claim responsibility for what we know to clearly be a faulty unit.

I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.

I was familiar with the Viking brand and it felt that I like the quality better than the alternative brand. The only problem is that its supposed to be fixed. The knobs that turn the gas on and off don’t pop out as they should. Some of them are maybe defective and even the ones that appear to work well really aren’t very good. The other day I was walking by it and I had a shoulder bag and it swung and just bumped against the range. And the gas went on full blast and flames were coming up about a few inches. So it literally turned on the whole stove by just swinging against it, which is concerning for everyone. I’ve never experienced that with the other range before so I would definitely redesign that system to be safer.

I’ve had a couple of issues but they’ve been addressed through the warranty. They referred me to a local appliance repair company and theyve been responsive. It took a few weeks to fix the issues and there was a back-and-forth on getting the right parts in, but there had been no extraordinary delays. Currently, there’s still one remaining item for repair and they’re ordering a separate part for that.

Im not using the stove, but Im tremendously jealous of myself. We just sold the apartment actually and I installed it originally for a renter. So, I never got to even use it. But I love the stove, its beautiful. I love the burners and the heat output that they offer. I also like that theres self-cleaning on it. They have a special feature on that, where it wasnt going to burn out the stove when you use the self-cleaning because it was electric. I love Viking products. We also got a whole suite of Viking products, not just the stove and we like every single one. It was an excellent experience.

I like my Viking Range. The quality of the range is really good. I also felt great when I went to their training and the environment was really good. The instructor gives class on how to use it. Everybody was nice and explained everything very clearly. I recommend Viking Ranges.

We got several appliances at the same time, so I had to interact with Viking a couple of times. They’re doing great. If I had the opportunity to compare some side by side over the years, that would be nice, but we didnt, so we spent the money. Although there’s a little insulator flap on the door of our fridge, and it’s got a little rip in it, the fresh drawer that you could set the temperature to is a good feature. All in all, the prices are crazy, but quality-wise, I’m satisfied. Theyre durable goods.
