Product Reviews:

I purchased a Maytag Bravos washer and dryer pair in 2009. Over those 5 years I have had at least 8 shirts come out of the washer with tears in the armpits. First I thought it was my armpits destroying the cloth. Then I thought it was cheap cotton (all my shirts are 100% cotton) from foreign manufacturers. I've had two shirts destroyed this week, this morning's was really thick material. Usually when I remove clothes from the washer, they are entwined and twisted. Consistently when I wash any load including a towel or two, the washer becomes unbalanced. My clothes often have a foul odor after washing. My theory is that the lack of a center agitating spindle is allowing the clothes to tangle, and not really cleaning them. I have to use the extra rinse setting or the clothes come out covered with soap suds. In summary, I'm not happy with this washer and will never buy another Maytag appliance. I'm also not sure the high-efficiency technology has had all the kinks ironed out.

I am not dissatisfied with hhgregg, but with Maytag products. I purchased the Maytag Centennial Top Load Washer and Maytag Centennial Dryer to match. I was a bit leery of the new "energy star" models that use "he" only type detergent, but decided that was the newest and greatest thing out, so how could it be wrong? For the past two months, I have been sooooo very disappointed in Maytag. Neither of these brand new machines are worthy of being considered brand new. The washer takes extremely too long to wash a normal load, too noisy, and has ruined several items of clothing, due to malfunctioning distribution of bleach, fabric softener released after clothes are through washing. There has also been several times that the load wash is complete and the clothes are not even wet (like they were never involved in a wash cycle). As for the dryer, you have to run it through two 40 minutes cycles to get the load of clothes completely dry, so much for "energy-saving". This is my first complaint to anyone, but after reading several reviews on Maytag's website, I am reassured I am not alone. There are hundreds of other dissatisfied consumers of this Maytag product. I will be writing a letter to Maytag, requesting a refund.

LG T9577TEELJ 8.5 kg Top Loading Washing Machine - I have bought this machine recently around 5 months back and have tried everything and even LG has sent people for resolving the issue but they also failed in their attempts. Even if you wash clothes separately the lint on clothes stays along with washing powder patches. The inbuilt filter even if cleaned adds no value. Thus it's a waste of money and LG doesn't have any solution to this except for generating service request again and again. Would recommend guys not to go for this machine.

Dries the clothes in one cycle. I love that it doesn't shake the ground when spinning! Am a satisfied buyer and definitely no buyer's remorse. Am amazed as to how spacious the dryer is, take up to several loads on my lazy days and dries them to perfect (crisp). Hmm I can smell fresh laundry! I also love that it is beautiful appliance, and to think it doesn't eat all my kids' socks. Anyways if you are shopping for a new appliances in the washer/dryer department, don't sit on the fence dear, pick this brand. Sometimes no matter how valuable something may pose to be, we hesitate when it comes to paying! But this appliances will stand the test of time and make us see the purchase is well worth it.

Purchased a Maytag Bravos XL less than 3 years ago Model MVWB725BW0. We have had several repair calls. From reading complaints from others, I have the same: clothes balloon, clothes rip, dark clothes have a scum on them, even a blanket goes off balance and it is hard to start the cycle. It goes off balance all the time, makes a squeaky sound when "agitating" and the housekeeper can never figure out what cycle to run the clothes on because they always go off balance, there is a loud vibration, etc. The last repair call was for an actual leak on the floor! The appliance company charged us $95 for the service call, did nothing, and told us the parts would be more expensive than a new washing machine. Went to Home Depot today and purchased an LG washer and dryer for over $1500. I am not even going to try to recoup anything from Maytag because this is the second Maytag that I have had a bad experience with and didn't learn a lesson in the first place. Junk. :(

Surprise, I too have a loud thumping dryer drum & visible crack in the drum seal. I called LG. Initially, the representative said, "Oh, this is a known problem and there is a recall". Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I don't have 7 or so years later, and LG insists it's required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. LG's products are NOT worth the hassle they put their customer through....

Don’t ever buy Whirlpool smaller (apartment) size front loader washer and dryer - from Home Depot or anywhere else. Beware of rules in warranty plans. I am very dissatisfied with them. I have had several service calls.

Purchased a new Whirlpool washer and dryer at Best Buy 6 months ago. We complained to Best Buy and Whirlpool about our clothes not getting cleaned. In other words, my clothes are coming out of the washer dirty. My make-up towels come out with make-up, my husband’s fishing clothes smells like fish and my son’s bike riding clothes is full of dirt. Whirlpool’s answer was the technician is reporting that the machine is working fine. Whirlpool told me to use different cycles and detergent etc. and I have done everything they ask, but my clothes are still the same. I told them this is a defected item. A washer should do its job - wash dirt and smells out. I want a different washer and they refuse to exchange this item for another washer after a second call to technician. Best Buy is telling us there nothing they can do for us. What has America come to? The manufacturers and dealers are selling to consumers and taking advantage of them by not responding to the needs of the consumer. In other words, we the consumers pay for product, take time from work and personal time to reports these problems and we get nothing back, just the run around. Is there something we can do? What can we do? This is very frustrating. We work for what we need. We pay for what we need and we don't get what we need. On the other hand, the manufacturer and dealer get what they need, our hard working money. What can we, the consumer, do to get our hard working money worth????? If anyone knows, please share your experience.

If I could give this a 0-Star rating, I would! I can't believe Maytag would make such an awful washing machine! Within the first 2 weeks I called their service department because (in my opinion) the washer wasn't washing properly. It took over a month and several calls to get someone out to look at the washer & dryer. According to the technician, both machines were operating properly. Apparently the washer is designed to destroy clothing and bedding! The "gentle" cycle set on "deep fill" will add just enough water to get the clothing wet, then agitates for about 10 minutes, then it fills up, agitates for 3 more minutes and drains. During the 10 minute dry-run, I watch my clothes get destroyed! I have never seen anything like this! My sweaters are shredded, my tops are pilled up & in a garment bag this thing managed to destroy a sports bra! This machine has ripped my mattress cover in several places and pulled my sheets from excessive rubbing due to not enough water. And what is up with the slow fill? The technician informed me that the trickling water is also normal. If I could return this washer, I would! I will never buy another Maytag because my Bravos washer died after only 4 years, and this one is brutal!

We purchased a Maytag Neptune series washer/dryer set approximately 5 years ago. This is the 2nd time in 5 years that we were told by our local repair person that the drum of the dryer got bent out of shape. This is from normal use and due to a bad design on their end. Maytag refuses to foot the bill (about $350-$400) as it is out of warranty.
