Microwave didn't even last 2 years. I bought all new Whirlpool Appliances less than 2 years ago & they were not cheap! The microwave won't work until the light comes on inside. Well for some reason now it takes almost 10 minutes for the light to come on & I have to leave the door open until then. Now today I can't shut it because the light won't shut off & if I try to shut it the fans runs constantly. So frustrating as they don't stand behind any of their products! I will never ever purchase anything Whirlpool again.

Works good but can't warm something and use the countdown timer at the same time. If you're using the countdown timer, forget about using it to heat anything up. If you're already heating something up, forget about setting another timer. Seems like a small problem, but you'll be surprised how much you miss such a basic features when used to being able to do so

2years and 2 months GE Model JVM1540 microwave purchased at Sams quit heating. Everything works other than it does not "microwave", GE customer no-service says the part "magna" something is covered for 5 years, however the labor is not. I offered their customer no-service dept. a deal. If it was my fault the MW broke I will pay the entire cost to fix it but if it was a defective part, they have to pay the entire bill including labor ( which is the right thing to do). They declined to do the right thing.

Update 3/7/2018. I have been without a working microwave since 1/23/2018. Technician sent from Maytag came out to repair it and said he needed to order a new "board" and "door switches." These items were installed on 2/26/2018 but did not solve the issue. The technician said the microwave needed to be re-wired completely and would schedule for the microwave to be removed and brought to shop where it would be repaired. After I called Maytag and explained the situation they told me they would replace the microwave (with the same model.) I called today to get an update on when the 'new' microwave would be installed and they said not for another 14-21 days!!! After expressing my displeasure at the whole situation I was told by the Maytag representative that I could choose any new microwave model (under $399) from the lines of Maytag, Whirlpool, Armana, or Kitchen Aid. It would take about 14 days for delivery and they would schedule the installation at no additional cost to me. So now I am researching microwaves again!!! I'll update this review once the new microwave is installed.

The thermistor of my 3 years and 9-month old LG LFC25770st stainless, french door, $1799 fridge overheated and died. LG no longer makes this defective part. So instead of a $150 to repair, I will need $1100 to replace. I only need to spend $1100 to replace since they are generously pro-rating my fridge at $700. Did I also mention my matching LG stainless microwave died after less than three years? All my non-LG appliances that I got at the same time are still working fine, and so is the $37 countertop microwave we have been using as a replacement for the last year. Stay away from LG products.

Sharp Company, after a lot of phone trouble for me for an afternoon and a half, did send me a Refurbished smaller microwave for the Warranty fulfillment when my Sharp microwave stopped heating after less than a year. The smaller microwave they sent me is at least heating for the past few days. I was just relieved to get anything from them with not having the receipt. I've researched the fact that it's impossible to find a microwave anywhere nowadays that will last for a year or more, and that may possibly catch on fire too. I looked on the box this Refurbished microwave they sent me came in, and it showed..."CHINA." I know I'll avoid Sharp products from now on.

May 2011, I purchased a French door fridge, with bottom freezer. After several service calls, they finally changed the main electronic board on December 2011. However, this is the end of February and once again everything is freezing in the fridge compartment. I raised the temp to 40 degrees and it is still too cold to touch the food. I spent multiple thousands for Kitchen Aid Fridge, Oven, DW and microwave, at this moment, the fridge is the worst of them.

While heating a bowl of butter, my microwave arced. Microwave had smoke and electric fire smell. I have contacted GE. They said it was a rare issue. From the reviews on this site, I do not believe that this is a rare issue. They offered a 25 dollar coupon to buy another one. I do not believe I would do that. GE has had microwave recalls in the past due to fire hazard. I have registered a concern with the Consumer Products Safety Commission.
