I'm a HVAC Tech that has been installing and repairing equipment for 29 yrs. When buying a new HVAC unit, it's like buying a car. You never know when you're going to get a lemon. If I have problems with repairing a Trane unit, the only option that I have is to call Trane Tech support. In 29 yrs, I have called them a handful of times and never have I talked to Tech support. I have left messages and in 1 case they have called back 2 days later when I wasn't in front of the system to check what they asked me to check. I install and repair units and Trane has made the list of units that I wont sell or recommend!!!!

I had a unit installed 4 1/2 years ago. I paid over 7k for the unit installed. Since that time I have required someone coming out at least every 6 months for a new issue. Each time having extra cost and fees associated. Last month 500 bucks for an issue, this month a coil needs replaced. Although the cost of the coil itself is covered by Trane's warrenty, the cost is still almost 1300 in charges for labor and coolant replacement. I would never purchase another Trane. Be sure and negotiate a warrenty which includes all associated labor and service charges in a purchase of an a/c when getting one and don't get a Trane.

Just got a totally new Luxaire system. So far so good after 2 months. I took advantage of a company offer for a free A/C unit with purchase of a new system. Good value.

I cannot recommend purchasing a Trane air conditioner. I've had problems with my Trane air conditioner since my purchase. The air handler was full of mold after the first month of service and did not pass City inspection. The air handler had to be replaced in order to pass City inspection. A fluorescent bulb had to be added to the air conditioner which is not part of the engineering design to prevent mold. The main power switch corroded after the first year in service. Then the thermostat went bad. Trane customer service does everything possible not to warranty their parts. Trane's customer service definitely does not put its customers first, and they are extremely difficult to deal with. The experience is beyond upsetting. I would not recommend anyone to purchase a Trane air conditioner. Trane makes a poor quality air conditioner and the value and reliability is not there for its price.

I bought this Rheem HVAC less than five years ago. It has so many problems such as bad compressor less than a year. Bad reverse value twice. Now I have to pay for labor and wasted freon. I did not want Rheem because of bad reviews but my contractor insisted on this brand. Please, please learn from my mistake. If a contractor insist on Rheem, go to another contractor.

I usually don't write reviews, but I am so disappointed in my HVAC purchase I couldn't help myself. DO NOT BUY A TRANE PRODUCT!!! I've had Carrier before and it was a much superior product. My Trane has only lasted 2 years and now I need a new coil supposedly. Of course no warranty on labor so in addition to the 5K I spent 2 years ago, I am now about to drop another 700.00 for service and labor. If this is any indication of how well this unit is going to hold up, I will be buying another unit before this one is even 5 years old. Avoid the TRANE wreck!

I bought this new unit to replace one I had for 20 years. The main reason I replaced it was because of efficiency issues plus difficulty in finding parts. This Armstrong I bought works well though. I haven’t had any trouble with it for the ten months I’ve had it. Good ac with great functionality.

Replace our 15 years old trane air conditioner and choose Goodman from the same contractor. Contractor told me that there is no need to replace the ductwork and just did some sealing and cleaning job.

The unit's condenser (Model RA1660AJ1NA) stopped operating after 1.5 years. I call the service rep and says best delivery will take a week of more (it's July and hot). We await service call back on shipment and no word. We call again. No idea when the part arrives. Email to Rheem about the problem and desire for expedited service. No response. I'm not sure what quality parts they have but I feel their professional behavior is unacceptable. The customer is unimportant and not worthy responding to. Unfortunately, I made a big investment already and can't back it out. But if you are in decision mode, think twice before committing.

We are so disappointed in our Goodman HVAC unit. It was installed 9 months ago and the circuit board already failed. No big deal...it's under warranty. WRONG! We were surprised to receive a bill for several hundred dollars when we had it repaired under warranty. When we called Goodman, they told us that the failed part was covered but not the labor or the service call, despite it being a product defect. They told us we had to have bought a separate "labor warranty" when we bought the unit if we wanted them to cover labor! So we just paid a whole lot of money to fix a manufacturer failure. We will not be buying more Goodman products in the future. Poor customer service!
