My six year old refrigerator has always been trouble - ice maker - water freezing inside or leaking outside - door open warning coming on when the door is not open, making loud humming noises. Spent too much money on repairs. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR. READ ALL THE REVIEWS. NOT A GOOD PRODUCT!!!
I would put negative or Zero stars if I could. We are on day 18 with a broken refrigerator and no closer to a resolution. It takes a minimum of 4 days to get a physical service person to arrive and evaluate the problem. In our case it was a severe sealed compressor issue on our refrigerator less than 1 year old and still under factory warranty. After the technician discovered the real problem we waited 3 days for Samsung to determine an exchange was the course of action. 7 Days after that determination we are no closer to getting the exchange we were promised. You would think after the amount of my follow up calls, I could actually reach a person with the ability to simply approve the exchange request. The scripted response is to tell you they will expedite with an email. Horrible service Samsung.
We bought this refrigerator in April 2012. Since then we have had repairs 4 times. Had we not had a extra warranty the first two years, we would have been in trouble. Now the extra two years is up and we are still having trouble. Samsung sent a repairman that stated the fridge was fine but its still broke - the problem still exist. They told us we are not under warranty. Do not buy this product, bad, bad.....
Stupid box keeps freezing. Suspect a bad evaporator. Have to constantly break out the ice from the refrigerator section. Online support was useless telling me to tilt the refrigerator 2 degrees. Wont buy one like this again.
Same issue as others with the fan freezing up. This is a defect and should be recalled. There is no reason as a consumer I should be tasked with ripping the cover off every week and defrosting the motor. I have thrown out at least $2000 in food over the last 2 years. I have Samsung TVs, Phones, Microwave, Dishwasher and no issues. This side by side refrigerator is a dog. I am glad there are YouTube videos to explain how to fix this hunk of junk. Two years later and $1800 wasted at Lowes this will now be the garage refrigerator freezer.
I too bought the French Doors Samsung refrigerator. Five ice maker repairs, water in floor, 80 degrees in fridge side and the clicking of the fan as it starts hitting ice buildup and then dies a painful death. This refrigerator is truly junk and is not inexpensive. I have had it four years and as I type this it is not working. Tech suppose to come Tuesday the 14th of August. Repair if able to be repaired will only last short while. To say the least I am give up fooling with this expensive piece of junk and will never buy another Samsung fridge.
The reason for this review is to alert purchasers to the problems associated with the Samsung dishwasher, and to the importance of selecting a reputable appliance sales company. In October 2016, my wife and I purchased a Samsung Appliance package from Bill Smith Appliances in Fort Myers Florida. Shortly thereafter, we began having problems with the dishwasher. I had researched the brand, and was already aware of draining and pump problems with the dishwasher, but was informed that the new model dishwasher was fixed. After repeated problems with the unit, a detailed search on this website confirmed that there were recurring problems with draining, and flooding of these dishwashers, and one caught fire causing thousands of dollars in home damage, as did the flooding issues. Two other units had circuit board electrical shorts, and one retailer was advising his customers to avoid the Samsung dishwasher. Because of the fire and recurring flooding issues, despite the fact that the unit was still under warranty, we decided we would not have a potential fire situation in our home. We would replace the unit rather than have it repaired under warranty.I explained these issues to the Vice President of Bill Smith Appliances in an email, and almost immediately received a response: Although our dishwasher was beyond the 30 day 100 percent return policy, the company would accept its return for a reasonable restocking fee, and apply all sales incentives to a replacement unit should we decide to purchase another dishwasher from Bill Smith. While the product probably could not have been of more concern, the benefit of having done business with an entirely reputable appliance dealer was phenomenal. What is also phenomenal is the CONSUMERAFFAIRS.Com website, where folks can post their experiences, the good and the bad, and the service and attention to customer experience that one appliance retailer extended to us.
We purchased Samsung appliances at HHGregg in Dec 2013 and installed them in Jan 2014. The stove was delivered damaged and had to be reordered. It came a little while later and I installed it. They all worked good until about 2 weeks ago and the oven quit working. My wife called Samsung only to be told the warranty had expired Nov 2013, and the stove was not registered to our phone number or address. That was not possible because we received it in Jan 2014. She took our information and a person from Samsung called back in a few days and said they were going to replace the stove. They just needed a copy of the receipt. The person would not give a full name or phone number. Just the first name. My wife emailed the receipt and we waited for 5-6 days and no one contacted us. My wife called Samsung again and this time she was talking to a woman who was very rude and said they did not get a receipt. She asked to send the info again to a different place and she waited on the line and said she got it and a repair man would be out Friday. When asked about replacing the range, she said something like why should we. When asked for a written copy of what our warranty is and when it is good to, she refused and refused to give an address to write a letter to, and refused to let my wife talk to a manager. We dont trust them now and think it could be possible we didnt get a new stove. What can we do to make this right?
I have had this refrigerator for 3 years and had 3 services calls. Freezes up, makes loud noises, ice maker has broken twice and freezes up often. Worst purchase ever. Never again will I purchase a Samsung.
Ive had the Samsung Chef Collection WaterWall Dishwasher for less than 1 year. When the new appliance suite (range, fridge, microwave, & dishwasher) were to be installed, the dishwasher did not work on day 1. They said it was electrical & ordered a new one. A few weeks later the new one was put in. I swear to God you need to wash the dishes before you put them in to be washed. I found out later that there is no heater in the unit to keep the water to temperature. The repair man told me to run the hot water in my sink before turning on the dishwasher, that may help. SERIOUSLY? My $1,600 dishwasher needs the sink water to run? Now Im 10 months in, loaded the dishwasher & nothing. No power again. Fuse is fine. Waiting for repair man to show.
I purchased a Samsung electric convection range. The 2 front burners do not regulate the heat properly thereby burning/over cooking my food! Very dissatisfied with the performance as I cook daily! Low is High! If you want to simmer your soup, forget it! How can a manufacturer expect you to deal with inconsistent heat elements? Must be a systemic problem. After reading other reviews needs to be recalled! How do we get a recall done?
I was cooking supper one night when I heard a loud bang and then loud arching sound. I ran to the kitchen to see a flame in the oven and my house filled with smoke - set the smoke detector off. Luckily it blew the breaker so the house did not catch on fire. When it cooled down we looked in the oven and found a hole had been blown right through in the bottom. Looked like it blew upward from the warming drawer. Samsung reaction - we will fix it but nothing else. It cannot be fixed. They do not stand behind their products at all.
The stainless steel trim on the back is not easy to clean and scratches easily. Oven door sticks, and products from Samsung are not very good. Control knobs get hot when you boil water in the back, have to wear mitts to turn it off. Double oven can not be accessed if you dont door. Does not have double doors.
Purchased this in Sept 2015. Very upset the way the 3 panel glass on the oven door is getting drips (inside the glass). I keep it clean and there is no way to clean this mess. Why is it that this could happen in a new stove/oven? :(
We purchased the Samsung 24CF counter-depth side-by-side refrigerator in December of 2013 from Pacific Sales in Chatsworth, CA. The unit cost $3149 before tax and we paid an additional $350 for an extended 5 year warranty. Within 6 months, several of the side shelves, which theyd demonstrated as being intended to hold gallons of milk, had cracked or were broken to the point they hung of the door. This was true even of the shelves we used only to hold condiments and smaller, lighter items. Within 13 months, every single door shelf was cracked or broken and the plastic surrounds on the main shelves had cracked as well. The warranty company said the shelves were not covered and Samsungs customer service department said they could not do anything as it was over 12 months since purchase. All they would do was provide me with a number to call so that I could pay for the new interior shelves myself. Given the price of this refrigerator, the quality is really inferior. We had our previous Kitchen Aid refrigerator for over 18 years and nothing inside was broken or cracked when we replaced it. DONT BUY A SAMSUNG.
We purchased a Samsung French-door refrigerator and have experienced the same problems as many reviews I have read. Loud noises from the back, poor cooling in the refrigerator, and water leaking out from under the drawers in the bottom. We are really not satisfied and now looking to replace our refrigerator.
My wife and I bought all new Samsung appliances 2 years ago. First the dishwasher failed. They couldnt find anyone in my area to work on it and made no attempt to honor the warranty. Did repairs myself. The refrigerator has been nothing but issues freezing the coil up, the fan being bound in ice and now the ice maker died. 1 week ago the microwave died and it now need the whole control panel. Samsung has been useless in resolving these issues so Im stuck fixing them myself. What a huge waste of money. Do not buy Samsung appliances. Guess my stove will be next.
Last night we heated a piece of pizza in our SMH9187 Over the Stove Microwave (about 25 seconds). The microwave got extremely hot and wires started smoldering. The control panel went completely dead and the internal sides were very hot (as well as the glass rotating plate in the microwave). We had to unplug the unit. Fortunately, there was no fire, but the microwave is dead. The unit is three years old. I cant believe that this happened to a relatively new microwave. Samsung should place a recall on all these models and reimburse people for their purchases. What an inferior product!
On 8/11/2010, I bought a Samsung 264 L capacity fridge from Electrical Discounters in Port Augusta. In about Aug 2012, my fridge broke down. No worries, Samsung took about 2 weeks to repair using a local technician. The local technician was very hesitant to take on any more Samsung warranty claims as he has had problems in the past. He was kind enough to replace the timer defroster at the back of the fridge. I lost over $300 worth of food. In the end of October, my fridge broke down again. I expressed my concern as it is a 2-year warranty coverage that expired on 8/11/12. Samsung acknowledged this (apparently noted this) because as far as I am aware, there is only one fridge technician in Port Augusta, hence my cause for concern. The problem - exactly the same as the first time it broke. Again, the timer was replaced after another 2 weeks without a working fridge. I was never contacted by Samsung. I have initiated the calls and contact on every occasion. You can imagine my frustration when on 26 December 2012, items in my fridge were growing mold and my ice cream in the freezer was almost liquid (semi-soft). I refused to believe so I waited a day before reporting it thinking maybe there had been a power outage that I did not know about overnight. I reported the fault on either 27th or 28th December to Samsung. Samsungs solution - you need a technician to look at it. It is exactly the same problem as the 1st and 2nd time. And now the technician refuses to play any further part in dealing with my fridge or Samsung. As far as I am aware, there are no other fridge technicians in Port Augusta. The closest would be Whyalla or Port Pirie. I struggle to imagine them making a single trip for my Samsung fridge only. I have since called Samsung 4 times inquiring as to my status as I have never received a phone call from them updating me on my status. I was informed that a technician would need to examine the fridge and now, after just getting off the phone with them, they advise that a technician will look at repairing the fridge. I have expressed my desire at having the fridge replaced but now that no technician in Port Augusta is willing to deal with Samsung, I am left at a loss. The replacement of a fridge leaves me inevitably frustrated as I am concerned I will be given another dodgy Samsung fridge with no one to repair it. I have made Samsung aware of these concerns to which they note but never contact or update and to be told that a technician is looking at repairing my fridge (which has broken down 3 times in the past 6 months) is upsetting.I have given Samsung ample opportunity to update me and liaise with me but as you can see, my frustrations are continually growing as I now do not want a Samsung fridge. I would like my money back as they are not offering me a suitable alternative. I was advised by email on Jan. 4 that a case manager has been assigned to me complaint but I have yet to hear further from them. Please help me. All I want is a working fridge that I can rely on.
RF266ABPN - Wrote a complaint on here in August 2013 about our Samsung 2-door fridge which kept pooling water and the back inside kept freezing with frost. We spent so much time always removing items, defrosting, scooping out water, etc. etc. UPDATE!! Finally hubby was able to fix problem himself. We have had no problems for 2+ years. He turned off energy saver mode and put paper clips in the drain tubes located at the bottom back of fridge to keep them open. They are used as spacers so probably any similar item would work. We are still not sure if the energy saver turnoff or paper clips did the trick but... after countless repairman and useless Samsung, just wanted to report what worked for us! No problems for 2+ years! I weirdly got a reminder about this review so came here and saw still horrific reviews... Hope this helps at least one person!Updated on 08/11/2018: We officially gave up on this refrigerator and brand in 2016. Our original problem (freezing/icing over) came back in full force, freezing, motoring, water pooling, even after my husband was able to temporarily fix it. Bottomline: We took it to the dump, This model is severely flawed.
This is the worst refrigerator I have ever used. Well the refrigerator and freezer are fine. Its the stupid ice maker. It doesnt give cubed ice, it gives pieces of an ice cube. My floor stays wet because of this. I have had 2 Samsung people check it out and they said thats how it works. If you like having little pieces of ice fly out at you then this fridge is perfect for you! Ours is about a year old so Im stuck with it.
I have had this dishwasher running now for a month. From the first load it has not washed my dishes properly. I always have food particles left on my dishes. I had a service tech come out and state, that is how Samsung dishwashers perform. You have to wash your dishes in order for it to wash the dishes. When I called Samsung to complain and verify what the tech stated, they initially told me that no pre-rinsing or pre-washing was required. But 5 minutes into the conversation, they tell me that the tech is correct, dishes must be pre-washed and pre-rinsed.The service tech had also told me that the Samsung dishwashers are notorious for leaking. He has to replace hoses and units all the time because the plastic tubing gets pin hole leaks from wear and tear off the hot water coming in and out of it. Buyer be aware! Now I go back to Home Depot and they will not return or exchange the product because it has been more than 48 hours since we have had it (but less than 90 days from purchase, and less than 30 from installation - and installation was paid for separately when we were ready to install as we were going through a kitchen renovation and needed more time for the cabinets to be completed). Reading on these Consumer Affair complaints, it looks like its time for a class action lawsuit.
We should have read the reviews before purchasing a Samsung refrigerator and shame on Home Depot for selling them. We have had nothing but headaches from the $3500 fridge. The repairman has been here twice, another expense... And now the ice maker bin will not release. To get help answering my question online there is a $25 fee. I give up.
We purchased a beautiful Samsung refrigerator that died - literally died within 45 days of purchase. Samsung has refused to replace the product and instead requested a repair service evaluate the refrigerator. Repair service RECOMMENDED by Samsung reports this is TOO BIG a job for them and have recommended replacement. Samsung REFUSES to do this. What business does NOT stand by their product. We have now waited two weeks for action by them - no response. We DO NOT recommend this company! AWFUL customer service!!!
I agree with all other complaints. I have had this dishwasher (Samsung dishwasher DMT800) since October 2010. I have always had problems since the beginning. I had to replace plastic raisers on top rack at least 3 times and another is breaking. It does not clean dishes. I have to use heavy load just to get a little cleaner. Plastic detergent door doesnt always open. I cannot put any dishes close at all. My other dishwasher (in the old home rental) still works great. I wish I still had it. I have tried several different ways to get better cleaning from the dishwasher. I should not have to baby this machine to clean my dishes. I have an OE error now. I purchased it at Lowes and extended warranty. I called on 02/03/13 and cannot look for service until 02/13/2013. Very inconvenient. I actually have shopped for a new one. Does not have rinse, only cycle. I was told by the salesman it did. All I want is a dishwasher you can use rinse only and put dishes in and have clean dishes. Not too much to ask!
Problem: Water dispenser began leaking immediately upon installation. Purged system of air but leak continued. Then within a week or so of use, the water dispenser began making a vibrating noise. The noise was in the area where the water line leads into the back of the refrigerator. Solution: After repair service made three attempts, one by replacing the water valve. This eliminated the vibrating noise for a day. The vibrating noise was continuous. The third service call was removing the water filter. There was no vibration or leaking when the filter was not in the refrigerator. The service repairman suggested leaving the filter out for a day then install a new filter. We installed a new filter the next day. It worked. We have been leak free and noise free for several days. So, if you have either of these problems or both, I suggest you remove the filter and install a new one before calling service. By the way, our service company informed us we would be getting a new filter from Samsung since the 6-month period had not been up on the filter.
I love the size and the French doors on top and freezer drawer. But HATE the ice buildup under the crisper drawers that needs to be chopped out every few months, despite the humidity controls...
UPDATE July 11, 2019 Add me to the long list of folks with NO SOLUTION for freezer not cooling. I actually purchased this model on Jun 14, 2014. Freezer started to fail on July 1, 2019, literally two days after my Lowes 5 year extended warrantee expired on June 29th! Had a Samsung Certified tech come out on July 5th and tell me the problem was the compressor which was working overtime and pulling excessive amps. I took that initial diagnosis and called Samsung Customer Service. They said warrantee expired; I said NOT for the compressor which has 10 years for the part. They were to come out on July 11th to again confirm diagnosis with their own warrantee tech. But, by July 10, 2019, the freezer was at 61 degrees F and the refrigerator was at 34 degrees F. I instead called my original tech and told him that the compressor was no longer working hard to cool the refrigerator and not working at all to cool the freezer. He said that it is likely that the Freon in the coils to the freezer were clogged. And the reason the fridge was still cold is that the separate coil line to the fridge was not clogged. He said it is not likely to be fixed. Would require removing the entire coil line in the freezer section for replacement. You see there is a valve the switches between the freezer and refrigerator coils and sends Freon flowing alternating between the two. Now that the entire freezer line is clogged the switch seems to be selected only for the refrigerator. Only solution is to buy another refrigerator. I canceled the Samsung Service call with this new diagnosis. BTW, I lost about $100 in food, but was smart enough to purchase a small 5 cubic ft. freezer to save the rest. That will hold me over until a brand new fridge is delivered. I’d like to say I’m not going to buy a Samsung, but if you search on “freezer not cooling” you’ll find that all brands may have this problem….and most with NO SOLUTION.July 3, 2019 post. Bought the Samsung model RF323TEDBSR refrigerator with French doors and bottom freezer drawer in June 2017. Freezer drawer is now failing evidenced by top layer of food thawed. Set the temp to -8 degrees F and no change. Ive called for repair at my expense because Lowe’s Service Advantage expired only two weeks ago (guess I should have renewed for $600). I now hope not to become one of the hundreds of reviewers here that could not get the freezer repaired even after replacing compressor, computer panel, and sensors. If the coils have failed, then Im toast. Wont know until $90 diagnosis this Friday. Before the repair person shows I plan to pull the back panel, remove power for few minutes, clean the coils and sensor area to see if that fixes the problem. But, I doubt it based on previous posts here.
What a mistake buying Samsung... we already have replaced over range microwave as well as dishwasher and now have my range being looked at tomorrow!!! The oven is making a noise that sounds like a plane taking off! The ice machine in the fridge constantly freezes over and I have to use a blow dryer to defrost it to get ice made... Also it is very difficult talking to the Samsung Reps, they dont seem to have a clue what is going on with their products and I found the one agent very rude actually. I tell everyone I know not to buy this product!
Please do not buy this dishwasher (DW80F800uws). I had researched and brought this dishwasher for my own kitchen remodel. I went with a top model and a name brand that I felt was reliable and had great customer service. 14 months after I purchased it it needed a new motor. My warranty had just expired. Samsung paid for the service call, parts and labor. I thought this was wonderful. A company that backs its product. Now three months later the 0e code has come on. Now I have another fix. I called Samsung they stated they would send someone in 4 days. 10 days later I called the company and will schedule appt. for 4 days away. I scheduled this 2 weeks ago. I now must pay for a service call, parts and labor. The system needs to be fixed. I was hoping that a dishwasher would last longer than 14-17 months without repair. (Let me add that it is only run every other day.) I do not believe in throwing things away but if you build a dishwasher that will break down right after warranty is up shame on you. I would rather have them come and take away the dishwasher. Ill wash them by hand. Such a disappointment Samsung. I even called the corporate office - no help there either. Do not buy this dishwasher - it is a dud.
I bought the RF263beasr/aa. Junk, junk and junk. Problem is plain and simple and should never occurred on a new Fridge. Icing problem on the back at the point that you can hear the fans hitting and scraping the ice. And the Ice maker also develops ICE. Read instructions and forums and I leveled the fridge. I made sure that the gaskets of the doors are fully closed and the gasket of the ice maker fully closes and seals the ice maker when door is closed. Fridge is 3 years old and it still has the same problems. I have to get the ice maker every month and use my hair dryer to deice the ice maker. I also once a week I force a defrost cycle plus turn the fridge off for 4 hours to let the coils defrost. My old previous fridge was a GE 15 years old. Nothing wrong with my old fridge (NOTHING, no ice maker problems nor icing problems). I made the big mistake of remodeled the kitchen and bought new appliances. I bought Frigidaire stove, Microwave and dishwasher. My wife insisted on the SAMSUNG Fridge because of the looks and I pampered her... BIG MISTAKE!!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN!!!! SUPPORT SUCKS. Customer service SUCKS!!! One thing I love though: I am an IT Manager and I get to say and approve what Technology to buy in my office with 800 users and guess what!!!! I turn down everything Samsung!!! From printers, PCs, laptops, faxes, TVs, monitors, etc, etc ,etc!!! Nothing Samsung ever again... And any other agency that I do business with I spread the word!!!
We purchased a refrigerator from Samsung in late June at Lowes. From the moment it was set up, its ice bin and chute have frosted over. I called and Samsung sent us new parts after refusing to set up a service call even though I told them the ice maker was not the problem. After the new ice maker didnt fix the problem, I called again. A service call was set up and we needed a new trap door for the ice maker/water dispenser. That took two service calls and three weeks. Now, the water dispenser leaks out of the area behind the ice maker dispenser and the lights on the display panel are starting to not work.We got a phone call last week from Samsung to ask us how the service call went. I told the person on the phone it still wasnt fixed and she replied that we could exchange or return the fridge. She said Samsung would call Lowes and get it taken care of and we would hear from Lowes in 2-3 business days. I waited several days and didnt hear anything. So I called Lowes, who has not heard from Samsung. So I called Samsung only to be told that the fridge could not be returned or exchanged and we would have to have another service call. This is ridiculous. The fridge is breaking, one thing after another, and I cannot get anyone to help us return it.
I purchased a French door refrigerator on June 13, 2013; delivery was set for the 18th. On that day, they brought a dented one. I wish I had refused. They apologized and promised a replacement on the 23rd. I agreed giving them the benefit. When the 23rd came, I received a call saying they still had the dented fridge for me and theyd give me $150 if I took it. I called Home Depot and told them to cancel the order. Within 15 min., I got a call from a Samsung rep who assured me she would take care of the problem and gave me another delivery date but when that date came, the Samsung rep had not communicated her conversation with Home Depot or the delivery company. My order was canceled and for almost 4 weeks, I was without a fridge. I went to a different store with a different delivery company and, most importantly, its not Samsung ever again.
Absolutely the worst appliances we have ever had! The refrigerator and the dishwasher were so bad that after THREE years we got rid of both and bought Whirlpool. Samsung would do NOTHING about either appliance and were RUDE! NEVER EVER buy Samsung!!!
Unfortunately I purchased a Samsung dishwasher when it was first launched so consumer reviews were not available then. I wish I had the foresight of returning the dishwasher immediately during the first month of purchase because my dishwasher never thoroughly cleaned my dishes. I was so amused by the lights and buttons that I ignored the dishwashers failures. After numerous service calls to the vendor, the repairman decided to replace the unit. Shortly after however, the dishwasher completely broke down. I wish we could make Samsung accountable for what they know to be a poorly produced and designed product.
We bought our refrigerator about 2 years ago from Lowes. We too were told they were good refrigerators. Within 6 months, the seal around the freezer came loose and the glass on the meat door cracked. We had to pay for the meat door but the seal was under warranty. Then we kept getting water under the meat tray and sometimes it would be a thick sheet of ice. We thought we were opening the door too much or something. Then one day it started making this loud grumbling sound, like it was going to rattle right out the door. Afraid it would get ruined we turned it off and called a repairman. He had just recently had the same problem with another customer so knew right away what the problem was.The coils, fan, and behind the whole back cover was all ice. The drain was also frozen so the water was running into the bottom of the meat drawer. He had to blow dry it to get the back cover off, then blow dry the drain and the coils. That was a month ago. Today we had to call him back. He again had to thaw out the back panel and the upper right fan had over an inch of ice around it. He said he thought the fan and coils were too far away from the heating element to efficiently thaw the ice and it just builds up. Having read these concerns of others regarding the same problems, I think Samsung has the responsibility to figure out a way to resolve this problem. We have all paid too much money on what we thought would be a quality product to only pay out more for repairmen who tells me this will be a recurring problem.
I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator in 2010. Within six months, the freezer sensor had to be replaced. Fortunately, I purchased a warranty from Sears. If you would like to spend $2,800 on a refrigerator and six months later, spend an additional $500 for a sensor, then purchase a Samsung refrigerator.
They have a known defect in their refrigerators and Ice makers and refuse to recall them. They’ve cost people time, money, home repairs, food poisoning, etc. When you call they act like they’ve never heard of it even though repair companies have received service bulletins from Samsung. That means they know there is a big big problem but won’t change the product to prevent it.
I have just spent the last half hour reading comments on good old Samsung Refrigerator. I have had a problem for the past year and now comes a time. Where do I start? Whats the cost? The digital front settings are being controlled by a ghost; bounces from ice to water, doesnt stop. Cost? Water on the floor. Ice built up on the back of the fridge really thick and water steady on the bottom of the drawers. Cost? Any advice besides throw it to the curb like people have said? Nice fridge; but really, how much money does an average person need to fix repairs? I was going to try and tackle project by myself but will it work or continue the hair dryer every couple of months thawing it out and putting up with dings on the front panel deciding what it wants to do? Any suggestions? Obviously not after reading the reviews. Would never recommend Samsung to anyone. Bad, bad choice I am just fed up with this problem. Thanks Samsung for the Lemon.
Have over the range Samsung microwave. Dont buy this poor quality unit. Handle broke within 6 months. Now will not shut off. Loud buzzing noise and continues to cook after cycle. My experience is that LG and Samsung make poor quality appliances. I will not be purchasing another of these brands.
Samsung makes terrible defectively designed refrigerators. The cooling system is crap, the ice makers are crap and the leaking water that pools under the deli drawer is shocking. No good appliance repair person will work on these fridges because they are crap and the company that makes them is beyond difficult to work with .
We a little over a year ago purchased a house full of Samsung appliances starting with washer and dryer, liking both the look and the way they worked. When we were ready to redo the kitchen we decided to purchase fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave all Samsung. The fridge shortly after installed developed water stain in the screen of water dispenser, however since we were 1 day past the original purchase date the warranty was up and Samsung would not help us, and also said a water stain would be considered cosmetic, however now we smelled something burning and now you can see burn area around water spot in water dispenser screen. Not please with Samsung service after spending so much with a house full of Samsung appliances.
I had similar problems to those reported - 1/2 inch of water then ice on bottom of fridge compartment, ice in freezer, difficulty resetting after power outage, multiple service calls; also, all plastic drawers and door shelves have major cracks. Problems started after only two years and I loved this thing, gave the utmost in care. I am so frustrated. Latest service call they said $600 to fix (after $70 for the visit). Was ready to buy another one because I liked the design, til I found this site. On Facebook, company says they are not aware of any such problems.
We purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator six months ago. Since then, we have had a service call on the ice maker (which was not screwed into the mounting and fell so you couldnt open/close the freezer door). Today, the food was melted and the refrigerator warm. Lights and temp gauges showed it was working properly. Spent 45 minutes on the phone with Samsung to get authorization of warranty to call a local appliance man. Now they will not even give me a date when it might be fixed. They will call me when they are available to come to my home. Best guess is four days away as the soonest!!!The appliance is not worth the money, and the service and warranty are definitely not customer oriented! I would definitely not recommend a Samsung, and will NEVER purchase again!
Model # RF28HMEDBSR/AA-07. I bought it in July of 2015. In 2017 I had to replace the entire water filtration system. In 2018, I had to replace the ice maker unit. It took well over 3 months for the repairman to get the part in. Now, I am sitting here writing this, so very frustrated as my refrigerator again needs a new ice maker unit. The back wall of the unit is coated in ice and in order to defrost, it must be done manually - I use a hairdryer. The drink dispenser is a constant drip of slushy water. You pay for a new product, you dont expect to pay the price again in repairs. This is a defective item! Never again - I will never buy any Samsung product!!
This model of microwave SHM9187 has a ribbon cable on the right hand side where the control assembly fits on the frame that picks up a signal from the frame that causes erroneous signals to be sent along one of the wires. It overloads the CPU and the result is a SE code and the machine shuts down. You need to put electrical tape over the entire surface of that ribbon cable that touches the frame in order to sufficiently insulate the cable. The repair is simple. Undo the two screws on top of the machine above the door. Pop the vent assembly to the left about an inch. Wiggle it off. Open the microwave door. Next there is one screw on the control assembly (right side of machine) at the top edge. Take it out. Pop the assembly from the bottom and push up about a half inch. Lift top of assembly away and rotate out. The ribbon cable in on the right hand side. You should unplug the microwave. When you reverse assemble everything and plug in the microwave, you are back to normal operation. Do the clock set and be happy.
We have a Samsung refrigerator Model# RF266AERS/xaa that stopped cooling at 3 1/2 years. A certified Samsung tech (only one in SE Wisconsin) was unable to repair. The problem was in the sealed system which has a five year warranty. He contacted Samsung and took all the necessary documentation as he was directed and sent it to Samsung. That was 4 weeks ago during which time I have called and been connected to executive customer service seven times, each phone call a minimum of 40 minutes on hold. I have sent my sales receipt twice. They always have problems locating some piece of information but always give a new transaction number and a very polite vague excuse. I have called the certified dealer twice. They resubmitted info and the second time even had the regional manager for Samsung send it in. That was one week ago. At my last call on Oct 2, 2014... This is ongoing and I am now waiting again for 2-3 days. Mind you these calls are all 40-60 minutes long and it has been 6 1/2 weeks without a working refrigerator! It also appears from other submissions, this is a big problem with Samsung and others.
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator model # rf31messbr 4 years ago. After the 1st year I replaced the ice maker. Since then Ive had to replace the ice maker 2 other times. Now my refrigerator is constantly icing up and middle deli door quit working. And dont even ask me about Samsung dishwasher! Samsung makes a nice TV but stay clear of their appliances.
Largest most expensive refrigerator Samsung makes. Ice maker wont open. Has stopped making ice. Vegetable drawer cracked on right site. Temperature module, which is also the framework for the drawer is also broken. Total Junk!
I bought a new fridge five days ago, with a lower freezer, model RF4287HARS. It was plugged in by the delivery tech and set to specific settings. The same day, water began to build in the vegetable bin. We cleaned it and shortly afterwards, moisture was building up. Samsung is lame at acknowledging fault and the extended warranty is quick to remind me that the manufacturer warranty is in effect. I will drop this pretty, but lame product made by Samsung, in the store today.
Thankfully I bought an extended warranty on my range because the 2nd time I used the self-cleaning mode ON THE DEFAULT SETTING, the control panel melted and the oven door would not open. It took weeks to get the replacement part with Sears Outlet calling and emailing scheduled appointment times that had not been cleared by me. But never mind the repair guy that is employed by Sears told me the part had not showed up on his doorstep yet. However, during 9 different calls over several hours during a 2 month time frame, Sears told me repair guy did not follow protocol so that caused delays. Of course when I told repair guy that he said they always try to pass blame. The 3 times repair guy came to my house he refused to give me any paperwork documenting his repair. He also told me never to use the self-clean mode. What? Why is it there? THEN the oven would not heat up to temperature, actually would only get to 100 degrees less, so the process started over again with repair guys BS and blaming Sears, all sorts of ridiculous information from both sides with promises NEVER being met. He finally installed a new thermometer and it still doesnt heat to temperature so I have to program it 25 degrees higher and wait 45 minutes longer than what the alert and temperature says on the control panel. In an argument with repair guy in my kitchen over my unreasonable expectation to have purchased a functioning product he accused me of only wanting to get a new oven. Imagine the gall of me actually expecting to have purchased a functioning product by a supposedly reliable name like Samsung. I am 71 years old and am old enough to know, from experience, what good customer service is. Repair guy is a grey hair and should know that too. But he is perfectly employed by a sub-standard company selling a very inferior product. And, although promised by his wife on one call, and his daughter on another, that I would get service orders and documentation emailed to me, it has never happened. What a waste of time and money, not to mention having to play stupid passive-aggressive games with a low in standards repair person. I am now afraid of fire after reading the rest of the reviews. Im surprised that Samsung hasnt been sued and ovens have not been recalled. I mean really surprised. My oven is barely 2 years old. In any other electrical stove/oven I have ever owned I have NEVER had a problem with self-clean.
Mine continually froze and had to be thawed and the repair cost was over $500 with only a 30 day warranty. The picture with water is the amount I regularly removed under the deli tray. The temp pictures show the temp the fridge said and the actual temp. Lots of ruined food. I suggest you google class action lawsuits and check the FB page on Samsung refrigerators. They do not stand behind their products. I will never purchase another Samsung of any kind.
It is unbelievable that with all the complaints we are reading about the SE problem with Samsung microwaves, the company hasnt responded. I too have the same beeping problem. I hardly used this microwave and have used it less than 2 years after installation. The fix becomes costly if you cant do it yourself. You might as well buy a new one. Then you have to pay for installation of that. I will never buy another Samsung product of any kind as their support is nil.
Bought on Black Friday 2011, waited 4 months for delivery. Six months later, noticed that the freezer door wasnt opening easily or closing all the way. Discovered the bottom of unit under the freezer door had ice building up underneath it. Busted it up & got it all out, freezer drawer worked perfectly. Few weeks later, it started all over again. Called Lowes, where it was purchased, & they told me no warranty, as it was now year since purchase date. My argument was that I had not actually had possession of it for a year, only 8 months. Got nowhere with Lowes, so every few weeks I get on my hands & knees & break all of the ice out of the bottom.I cant find any water leaks & have no idea where the freezing water comes from. Also want to mention that a piece of the cover for the above ice maker fell off at approx 6 months, and a piece of the bottom ice maker did the same at around a year. Got a great Black Friday price for this $2,800 refrigerator, but I wouldnt give 2 cents for another one!! My fridge before this was 14 yrs old & was Kenmore, it was ugly & outdated but worked way better than this new Samsung!!!
I will never buy another Samsung dishwasher again. The inside baskets started rusting falling apart and the replacements cost over $200.00 for the top & $200.00 for the bottom.! The dishwasher also makes a squealing noise near the end of the cycle! The Samsung dishwasher cost us over $1000.00 dollars, it’s not worth the aggravation!!
I bought the Samsung dual flex because of the flex zones which seemed amazing. Well, let me tell you, the thing is very difficult to use. No more just turning the knob and having the oven on. Everything requires several steps which is frustrating when you are busy cooking and dont have a whole minute to program the oven. It seems petty until you are doing it.Worse is the lack of quality. My previous range was a 30 year old JennAir. A burner went out and the repair was $120. I should have repaired it. This Samsung is junk. We only cook 1-2 times per week with the stove (have an electric pressure cooker and infrawave we use a lot) and my son was trying to turn on the burner and it made a loud pop, the lights in the house flickered and it tripped the 50 amp breaker! I called Samsung right away. Their service center is in Compton, that Compton, and their service people treat you like you would expect to be treated in Compton based on the citys reputation. The guy told me to unplug the stove. I told him it would be a minute because I put a silicone bead between the stove and the counter so spills dont get under my stove and I would need a minute to razor that before moving the stove. The guy told me THAT was what broke the stove. I wish I was smart enough to have come up with sealing the stove and counter to stop the mess but a professional service person did that at my old house and it was amazing. And I have done it since because counter spills running between the stove and counter are gross. And there is no way a paper thin silicone bead on the outside edge of the stove and counter top seam would cause the stove to make a loud pop and then trip a breaker.A few days later someone calls me to come look at it. I thought I was covered at least under parts warranty. Nope! Nothing. $150 for someone to show up and then whatever the parts cost. The fact that there is only a 1 year warranty on this item should be a big red flag. This is the second Samsung appliance to let me down. I bought a Samsung fridge a while back and it was DOA. I ended up with a Whirlpool I hate because I let them haul the old fridge away and then had a fridge full of food spoiling and they offered to deliver the Whirlpool floor model in the next half hour. So 2 for 2 on the Samsungs being crap. And their service is horrible!! Im almost wondering if they are not using prison slave labor. When they call you it is a Compton number they call from. The way their customer service people talk to you and dont care at all prison labor would make sense.
Just like many others my refrigerator started having defrost issues and not keeping proper temperature after 18 months. $2200 Fridge and Samsung says there is nothing they can do. I’m joining the class action suit that has already been started. Thousands of people have this same issue. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG.
We purchased a Samsung french door refrigerator in 2012. It has an external ice and water, along with the bottom freezer and a drawer that has various options. Since 2014, we have had significant problems with the ice maker. The repair person has been here 5-6 times attempting to fix what he calls a manufacturing and engineering defect. Apparently he has seen this problem multiple times. It doesnt make ice, then it makes ice but it all melts and refreezes in a solid block. It continued this cycle over and over until it burned out its fan. Multiple calls to Samsung have gotten me nowhere except that I have now spent nearly $1000 trying to fix a $2500 appliance that is still brand new.
These are possibly the worst appliances ever made. Researched before purchasing, and reviews were good for the price ranges. However, have had it repaired twice for same problem - no ice, leaking water, ice buildup on drawer so wont close. Repairman replaced freezer parts, drawer glides, ice maker unit. It now is creating the same problem that we have had from day one of owning it. This is the biggest piece of junk posing as a refrigerator. Samsung does not care. Haveterrible attitude when speaking to representatives, IF you get an answer, or a call back. DO NOT BUY THESE APPLIANCES.
We recently purchased a Samsung side-by-side refrigerator (Model#RS22HDHPNSR/AA) back in June from hhgregg. According to the date on the inside panel the refrigerator was built sometime in January 2014. We purchased the unit June 2014 and it’s barely six months later and the refrigerator stopped working! That refrigerator wasn’t cheap in price but obviously that wasn’t the case when it came to its assembly. The refrigerator died on us this past Saturday, October 11, 2014 and I put in a repair request online Sunday via the Samsung website. As I had put all the details required to get the process moving, imagine my surprise when those same details were requested yet again when someone finally got around to calling. So once again I sent the information via the website and my personal email. After sending the information again I was under the impression that a repair person would be sent out ASAP to remedy the malfunctioning refrigerator problem but I was wrong. A repair person didnt show up until Thursday October 16, 2014, five days later. Let me reiterate - five days have passed with us being without a working refrigerator. The repairman arrived before 12pm. He proceeded to inform my mother that he was told that if the refrigerator could be repaired he would repair it. He told us that it would take two to four hours to fix the problem. He checked various aspects of the refrigerator and spoke with someone that I assume was a representative of the Samsung company via his company phone and shortly thereafter around 1:15pm, he went outside. We assumed he went to his truck to retrieve the necessary materials or tools to fix the problem and we haven’t seen the repairman since!!! So, not only have we been without a working refrigerator six days but to add insult to injury the person that the company sent out to repair the malfunctioning unit has left us in a lurch without so much as a word!My mother has been on the phone with numerous company reps since Monday and we have yet to have this situation resolved. The last person she spoke with today (10-17-14) said someone would be out Monday. I wont believe it until I see it. I am quite disgusted with Samsung and personally will NEVER purchase product they create.
Purchased over $5,000 worth of Samsung appliances for my new house - BIG mistake. 2 years in and the ice maker on the refrigerator breaks - $325 to have it fixed. Samsung offered nothing - customer service was horrible. The fan in the oven was the next to go. Again horrible customer service and Samsung offered no help. DO NOT buy Samsung Appliances!!!
June of 2014 we purchased a Samsung refrigerator model# RS261MDRS/XAA. As soon as it was delivered and installed we left for vacation for 3 months. When we returned, a corrosive stain was on the water dispenser that cannot be removed. We did not even hook up water supply so it was not caused by water. Contacted Samsung, they sent out a service tech to look at the issue. Samsung concluded it was a COSMETIC ISSUE. As of now after many calls to Samsung they stick to their conclusion. So I have a brand new damaged refrigerator caused by a defect in manufacturing. This substance is like a acid that came from above and ate the plastic insert. There is no way in this world that this issue was caused by the consumer. Where I stand now is if I call service on this issue it would be at my expense. Hands are tied on a cosmetic issue. SAMSUNG, you need to listen to the consumer instead of text book notes.
I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher Model Number: DW80F600UTS/AA on June 22, 2014. Everything seemed to be working fine until November 30, 2014. We had issues with the Dishwasher, Product Symptoms: Operation/Doesnt work/Doesnt dry. This was covered under Samsungs warranty within a year. It is now August 2015 and were already having another issue with this Dishwasher - we had an appliance repair person come to the house and he tells me we now need a computer board for this dishwasher. One hundred something dollars and thats just for the part, thats not covering labor to install the part. The Technician is telling me if you have any sort of voltage issues these Dishwashers will need parts replaced. What is getting me angry is that we have a whole house surge protector protecting our main breaker and were still having issues. I would expect issues after several years say 4, or 5 not within the first year to year and 1/2. I contacted Samsung Customer Service and explained to them the latest issue. I also explained to them there was another issue several months after we bought this Dishwasher. Samsungs reply was its over the warranty, period. You used to buy appliances from Sears no less that would last years, now you pay good money thinking youre getting a good product - Samsung no less - and this is the way they treat you. It is not right. Period.
I bought my 3 door Samsung Refrigerator in 2015 and it worked fine for 2 years. After that, Ive had nothing but problems. First, it wasnt cooling my food and I lost all of my food and had to pay a $200 repair bill. Then, 2 months later, that same thing happened! Luckily, they honored the initial repair warranty and the tech came out and fixed it again. Fast forward to 5 months later and now the refrigerator is freezing all of my food. Because the fridge is out of warranty, I will have to pay for a tech to come out and will be charged parts and labor to fix the problem. I have now lost 3 full refrigerator loads of food and am left to resolve the issue on my own. I have a 20 year-old Kenmore fridge in my garage that works perfectly and my $2000 Kenmore fridge is a POS. NEVER BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES!
I have owned my refrigerator for less than a month. When it was delivered I noticed a small dent in it which the store compensated me $70 for. A week or so later I saw a small chip on the same door. This is a black stainless steel refrigerator that retails for about $1800 (RF261BDAESG). I went to the store and they told me to contact Samsung. I spoke with Samsung and they said they would send a technician out and gave me the company name. I was contacted by that company and told that if they came out and decided it was physical damage I would have to pay for the service call, $200. Also said that if I wanted it fixed it would cost up to $400. I have no intention of paying for any repair for an appliance thats less than a month old.First whats physical damage? If they mean that it was done by me how can that be determined? Whos to say it wasnt caused at the same time as the dent was made? Why would they sell a product that can seemingly be damaged so easily? I spent about 30 minutes on the phone after speaking with their service center trying to resolve this, as long as I dont pay. Im pretty sure they would say its my fault just to save Samsung money. My main concern is the lack of customer service from Samsung because I bought an entire kitchen suite. I purchased Samsung because I had always heard positive things about them but I can guarantee that I will do my best to dissuade anyone from purchasing any Samsung product.
I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator and an over the stove microwave 3 years ago. They worked great for about 2 years and then the trouble started. My refrigerator stopped cooling completely. I had a service tech come and he told me it was a manufacturers defect but since it was almost 3 years old, I was out of luck. Mind you, he didnt hesitate to try several times to fix it to the cost of over $700 before he suggested I dont put any more money into it. I tried to get him, as a service tech, to contact Samsung to inform them of the mfg. defect but he failed me on that also. The microwave fan went after about 2 years. It did work but was extremely loud. Then the other night (about 4am) I heard a beeping and the microwave was beeping SE. Now it does not work at all. I had to unplug it to get it to stop beeping. Never again on Samsung appliances. Oh yeah, I also have a range I bought which was Samsung and after 1 year with that, I had to have a burner replaced. Im not at all happy, very disappointed.
We have had our french door refrigerator serviced 3 times and need service again. First time was the ice maker. They have to replace the whole unit. Then the computer board went, not once but twice. Now the top half is not staying cool. For the price we had paid, this should not have happened in only 5 years. The repair cost so far has been over $1,000.00. If there is a class action against Samsung, I would love to know. I would love to get my repair cost and the cost of the unit reimbursed.
I purchased the most expensive dishwasher at the store, it was a Samsung DW990044dBA. Over a $1000.00. I bought the best hoping for good results and little hassle. The appliance worked for 4 days only. There was over 4 service calls in 2 months, and lots of correspondence with Samsung, and my dishwasher hasnt worked for much of the two months waiting on service repair times. There were several issues with the top rack sticking, leaking through the door, and breaking down. My countertop has been damaged from steam leaking through the door, my floor has been damaged from leaking on the floor. Samsung wont compensate me at this time and have denied my request for a new dishwasher. Samsung is complicated and confusing to deal with as their departments dont talk or share files. A person needs to be good with a computer, and verbally strong to deal with this company as they require lots of communication, pictures, calls, time and patience. I wish I had never bought this product.
We bought all of the appliances for the kitchen (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave) less than 5 years ago, and thoroughly regret going with Samsung. So many of the products have broken. The refrigerator was repaired less than two years ago, and the same problem is happening again. Our dishwasher broke a few months ago, and we had to repair it as well. Both repairs were almost $500 EACH! We have broken drawers, shelves, knobs. I can go on and on with the issues we’ve had with these appliances as well as with Samsung the company, but the easiest thing to say (and most useful from this review) is to save your money and go with a quality company that specializes in kitchen appliances, not electronics.
Just before a year of having the Samsung Glass top stove NE595R0ABSR/AA, the enamel in the bottom of the stove started to crack. I didnt notice at first but the cracks were getting larger and showing in different areas of the bottom of the stove. When I purchased my home, I purchased almost all Samsung appliances... After this, I will never buy anything made by Samsung... not even a phone nor TV. Clearly the service rep that came out and agreed that this issue is a defect. I attempted to address the issue with Samsung, but days after sending pictures and receipts, they stated the stove was not under warranty and they would not cover it. To make things worse, I have extended warranty through Asurion (Home Depot warranty) and they stated its something that should be covered by the manufacturer. So, I have a $700 stove where no one want to own up to being the responsible party for coverage.
I bought a whole kitchen set made by Samsung, in exactly 4 years my refrigerator broke, Samsung had a repair person come out and they couldnt get one screw out to fix it. After numerous calls and spoiled food because coolers arent the greatest at preserving food Samsung said that I had to find my own maintenance company. Well Oddly enough there is no one in my area besides the company that could not get one screw out, to repair my fridge. Samsung said there was nothing they could do. Now fast forward a few months my microwave is now broken. Im sure I will get nowhere with this broken appliance as well. Through all the calls and hours spent on the phone and the food reimbursement check Samsung said they would send us I have gotten nothing from them and no answers. Their products are junk and any company that sells them needs to stop because most of the people selling them know they are junk and tell you not to buy them.
Bought a Samsung refrigerator 3.5 years ago. One of their better models paid in excess of 2k. So far every eighteen months it breaks down needing costly repairs. The techs who service Samsung are not big fans of these refrigerators. Many recurring issues with poor design and parts that fail. I for one would never own another Samsung product.
I have owned a Samsung French door, bottom freezer, model RF197ACWP for a year and a half and have had pooling of water under and inside the crispers and a layer of ice forming in the bottom of the freezer. This is apparently a common problem with this model, a manufacturing defect. I have never experienced any issues with any refrigerators I have owned in such a short period of time. The last refrigerator I owned lasted 15 years without problems and the one before that 20 years! Also, just after a year with this inferior product, the white door handles started to peel, exposing polished chrome or steel. I thought the cosmetic damage was the worst of my complaints! Little did I know. I will not consider buying Samsung products again, as its customer service is unresponsive in addressing complaints.
Purchased my dishwasher back in July 2014 and have come across the same problem the heavy and auto switch light keeps flashing and the dishwasher stops working. Ive had to call and have someone come fix it 3x now. This is stupid... never again buying Samsung.
I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher from Best Buy, when I had the unit installed I discovered that the kick plate was missing. I called Samsung and requested that they send me the missing part. They took all of the information and gave me instruction on how to send the receipt which I did. After a few days a representative called saying they needed more information. I asked what information they needed and they said they needed the Serial Number and Model Number. When I explained that I already gave them this information the representative put me on a long hold and came back and said not to worry they had everything they needed and that my missing part would be shipped in 7-10 days. Several days later I received an email from Samsung asking for me to upload my receipt to them (which I had already done a few weeks ago). I resent the receipt and then a few days later received another call saying that since the item was purchased as an open box item that they would not provide me with the missing part. Bottom line is that the customer service is very disorganized and inefficient. When I ask them to consider supporting their product and to make an exception to provide me with the part that was missing when delivered to me they refused. Very disappointing experience from Samsungs customer support people.
RF263BEAESR/AA - One month and three days after date of purchase from Best Buy, the handle on the freezer drawer fell off. The threads on the plastic handle latch had been stripped by the stainless steel bolt inserted into it. The bolt was used to attach the right side of the handle. The Samsung repair rep. told me that since the handle worked when I purchased the refrigerator and no longer did, I had damaged the handle and thus the damage was not covered by the warranty.
#1. Ice maker froze up. From internet, learned this is a common defect. Had to trim plastic parts and dismantle ice maker to fix. #2. Very difficult to clean shelves and drawers. Gunk gets under glass and inside (!) of drawer fronts. You have to use a screwdriver to pry open plastic tabs. The prying process tends to chip the plastic permanently damaging the pieces. Other than these major design flaws, the refrigerator has kept food well. But being able to clean ones refrigerator easily without damaging it is such a basic critical design feature for me that I will steer me away from Samsung products in the future.
6 months ago, we started having problems with the freezer side freezing up and then the fan was hitting the ice and making loud noises. We turned down the freezer control, which helped for a while. We have had this refrigerator for 22 months and yesterday it quit working. We called a repair person and he said that the motherboard and the fan were burned up. He called to get prices on the new parts and said it would cost around $300.00 to fix and replace parts. However, he told us that the motherboard was DISCONTINUED and that the replacement motherboard might not fix the problem with it icing up. We paid $1000.00 for this refrigerator and it was a lemon. Will never buy one from them again. Also, Sears is where we bought this refrigerator and we will never buy one there again for selling us a piece of junk. It started having problems right after the 1 year warranty expired!. $1000.00 refrigerators should last more than 22 months! Also, when we called the first repair company, they said they do not work on Samsung refrigerators. Seems to me they knew about the problems from me and other customers.
Bought a unit in 2011, the freezer never worked properly. After 3-4 service calls Samsung FINALLY replaced our refrigerator NOT with the exact same model because it had been discontinued. In less than a year we began having the exact same issues with the new unit. After over 5 calls we still have a freezer that has completely stopped working. DO NOT BUY!!!!!
This is my second review this month, again for a Samsung product. I purchased all new Samsung appliances that included microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer less than 3 years. My review of the refrigerator is above. As of this weekend, my dishwasher will no longer complete a cycle because it will not drain. We have taken it apart and cleaned it thoroughly to no avail. I called Samsung and they told me I could purchase a 1 year warranty for $300 which would cover for 1 year IF the cause was something that was covered. I will never ever buy another Samsung product!
We purchased our first French door Samsung refrigerator in 2011 not only because Samsung was a household name and I figured would make appliances that would outlast their warranty period but I also purchased the Samsung because aesthetically they stood out in comparison to other brands. Well I was completely WRONG about the quality and durability of Samsung appliances. Our first refrigerator was still under warranty and had to be replaced in 2015 because they no longer made the parts needed to repair the 4 year old refrigerator. This four year old refrigerator would make a loud humming noise as a result of a faulty fan motor. We made a second poor decision to purchase another Samsung refrigerator thinking they would have improved upon the issues they had with their appliances, but again we were WRONG. The issues were worse, see list of faults below that started in 2016 one year after purchase:1. Massive water leak behind the water dispenser that requires placing a large towel to catch the water to prevent potential slips and/or falls from the water from pooling on the floor. 2. The ice maker only makes a cup full of ice per day even when pressing the Power freeze button. 3. The refrigerator intermittently makes a loud humming noise.See list of actions taken to address the issues our 1 year old refrigerator is having: 1. Defrosted the ice maker by keeping doors open and using a hair dryer in order to speed up the process. 2. Sealed the crack between housing of the ice maker and the refrigerator with waterproof silicone. 3. Purchase 2- 10 lb bags of ice from Buckeyes twice a week. 4. Keep refrigerator door open for extended periods of time in order to stop the humming noise (yes we had food in it at the time) and speed up the defrost process. Even after initiating our own interventions, we continue to have problems with our Samsung refrigerator making a loud intermittent humming noise, making ice, leaking large amounts of water behind the water dispenser. The reason Im taking the time out of my busy day to share with you these issues is because Im disappointed in this product and to prevent you from making the poor decision of purchasing a Samsung refrigerator. Its not worth the money. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should spend thousands of dollars on anything that is proven not to last over 5 years. When I was growing up, my mother kept the same refrigerator from the time I was 10 years old until I graduated college. Of course repairs were required but as stated earlier, this is my second Samsung refrigerator in the span of 4 years.Yes we have a warranty but this refrigerator began to have problems a year after purchase, my expectations of Samsung setting a higher standard when it comes to quality appliances has not been met. We have had to spend time troubleshooting issues on a refrigerator that cant go the 5 year distance and take time from work to have it repaired. BUY SMART BY NOT BUYING A SAMSUNG FRENCH DOOR STAINLESS STEEL REFRIGERATOR.
Ice Maker:The ice maker constantly freezes up and requires that you defrost or chip ice out every month or so. This is a flaw with how the ice maker is mounted and does not create a sealed compartment, allowing warmer air from the refrigerator section to enter the ice making space. Touch Screen:My first fridge came with a broken touch screen. It was active but the touch did not work all the time. For whatever reason they could not obtain the part so they RMA-ed (Return Merchandise Approval) my refrigerator and replaced with the same model -under warranty. The second refrigerator came the same way. This time they were able to obtain the part using a third party repair company and the screen was fixed. Apparently the first screen had a broken connection that the technician was able to see once he removed the part. He suspected the connection was possibly broken during transport and explicitly installers holding/carrying the door by holding the ice dispenser region. Apparently there is a flexible piece of plastic that pushes up into the screen. I recommend for anyone with this refrigerator to take extra precautions not to move the fridge by holding the ice maker region. Applications:When I first got the refrigerator there were several useful apps (including: AP News, Pandora, a recipe application, weather bug, google calendar, etc) with the indication that more apps were going to be coming in the near future. No new applications have come. Weather Bug stopped working 2 years ago. AP News just went off line. Pandora and recipe apps just disappeared one day. To make it worse many people on the Samsung site have been trying to get a response about the applications and Samsung never responds. My opinion is to stay away from any Smart-screen Samsung refrigerators: they are only a novelty that Samsung does not seem to support.
We purchased a Samsung glass top stove. Yesterday, as a saucepan simmered on the front, left burner the glass over the right rear burner exploded. I had purchased an extended warranty at the time of purchase, so I contacted HH Gregg. The service people came but could not say why the glass broke, so they ordered a new glass top. Since they found nothing wrong with the stove, is it going to happen again. It was fortunate - no one was injured.
Refrigerator is 2 years old. First year, no problems. Now water is always leaking out on the floor. We find inches of water under both crisper drawers. We remove the drawers and mop up. Now the freezer door wont shut and we discover an iceberg on the floor of the freezer. Our service man said he would not buy a Yo-Yo made by Samsung. Too bad I did not do better research. A real piece of **... Just had to buy tons of ice to store freezer contents while we try to defrost the freezer.
Well it’s a nice microwave, lets you know when you need to get your products out of the oven and self cleaning is nice, love the chrome and black. That’s the color and the overall expectations are almost met. I still haven’t learned all the little things that it has to offer me but soon I’m sure I’ll read up on it and find out! Lol. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for one.
Ice maker model # DA97 1254OA. Like everyone else’s, this icemaker freezes over and Samsung refuses to repair or recall. Spent hours talking to customer support who was of no help at all and even hung up on me twice. Will never use Samsung again. Would love to participate in class action suit.
Buyer beware, the Samsung refrigerator looks good, but do not perform well. Ice makers stop working and doors will not close on their own leaving your fridge door open and a beeping noise you can quite figure out where its coming from. Have had one, a sister and friend, all three had the above issues.
We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator side by side 4 years ago. In the last 6 months it has stopped getting cold, temp goes up to 59 degrees. The first time a local appliance repairman came out, told me that the fan freezes up. He unplugged it and thawed it out. Worked fine for a couple of months. Later it has happened again. I tried unplugging it and thawing it out. Did not work so I called a Samsung repairman and 1 week later he will be here. I will not ever buy Samsung again. Customer Service Rep from Samsung told me things dont last very long anymore.
7 month old refrigerator had an issue with the refrigerator door. The ice flap was opening and closing constantly. After leaving us for 12 days without a working refrigerator and 3 cancelled service calls someone showed up to replace the door that was sent to them directly by Samsung. It is not the correct door and now they are refusing to replace with the correct door. The customer service is terrible and the product is defective. Do your research and avoid these appliances.
I remodel my whole kitchen! I went to lowes for appliances, bought Fridge, stove, microwave hood range and dish washer! 1st week the ice maker stopped working, got that repaired! Two weeks later, the freezer went out! Lost 60$ of meat in freezer!! So Lowes replaced whole unit free of charge!! The 2nd fridge came, it stopped working within 1 week of running! Called Samsung, they told me to open back panel and hit reset button in back! Did that and it started to work again! Well the next 3 days the ice maker quit again! Samsung got it repaired, 3 weeks later it went out again! Since then it has been 5 months without a hitch!Meantime, Microwave Hood range stopped working, repairman came out, order a couple of parts replaced them, still didnt work. Lowes replaced unit!! 2 months of running the 2nd one started to make a loud vibration!! Repairman came out to see, said it was loose in casing! While looking at that he opened lite part and it was broken, the light fixture itself! The pins that hold lite up was broken! Wait for Buy Back on that! He also came to look at dishwasher cause it was make a loud noise, also which it didnt do it in past! Repairman said the Motor is going out!! So it is on order!Stove on other hand, the back leg that holds unit leveled was bent and could not be fixed, got it replaced! On 2nd stove the front window has water leak condensation from cooking and there is no way to clean it!! On all the appliances I was told they were top of the line! Stainless steel, in which I cannot keep clean, there is like streaks on all of them and no matter what I use, very good cleaner still cant remove stains from them! The repairman told me the SS is very cheap kind of SS, and that is why there are stain on them! All of this has happened from April 15th 2013 till now! And Samsung warranty is one yr, in which they want me to buy new warranty!! Even though I have had 3 of them replaced, it still goes back the date of purchase! Im currently building up my report to have Samsung buy back all of them!!! Im so very upset about this!! In which they are giving me a run around trying to do this!! My time is running out for warranty! And Im so scared they will not last for much longer!! I need help from an outside source. Please anyone out there! Im disabled cause of a semi crash I was in, and the money I used is all I have left from this upgrade! Thanks for read my report.
The oven temperature climbs and lowers all during the baking process. Totally inconsistent. Horrible for baking cakes! I bought a portable oven thermometer to monitor it. I can set the oven for 350 and the actual temp in the oven will be 375 one minute and 325 a few minutes later. There is also a 25 degree temperature variance from front to back and side to side in the oven. Forget cooking more than one item at the same temperature. When you buy such a big oven you plan on being able to utilize the space by cooking more than one item, but beware, they will be cooking at different temperatures. The top low burner is not low at all. It boils everything. The long middle high burner is okay on one end and way too crazy hot on the other end with flames so tall they lap over my skillet. The Samsung name on the top front/center of the stove is stickers. Each letter gradually slides off from the heat of the stove.
I was complainant # 100 and this is a follow-up of the situation. I called a 4th time to Samsung Customer Service to inform them of my success at repairing the microwave SMH9187ST and requested only the cost of the control panel assembly ($71.02). After some deliberation, the answer was no because I was not an authorized repair technician. Had I waited on Samsung to handle this situation with their service, I would have had no expense. Samsung now recognizes a problem with these microwaves and will assist consumers. I feel like Im being punished for being a capable do-it-yourself-er. Whatever happened to good customer service of decades ago?
My Samsung is probably 15 years old by now. It has been one of my best investments. I think I have had one repair in all that time that may have been $150 which at the time I thought was outrageous. But looking back now was cheap considering the longevity of my refrigerator. It looks great, it is still in style and is easily maintained. It is silver which is very much still in vogue and everything works! I have always taken good care of my appliances so they will last a long time. Now that I have bragged on it, well well see.
I bought a stainless steel fridge and freezer and fridge doesnt cool. Paid for an outside firm Samsung sent to do diagnosis. They then cant fix it. Come to find out Florida has nobody that can fix it. Samsung wont do anything since we have moved and lost receipt in move. They have everything on file but need receipt first they say. I contact the store where purchased as Samsung asked and they dont have on file either. Because of this Samsung wont do anything. Funny how they have all my information and model and serial numbers on file but they still wont do anything. I just want it to be fixed but they wont do anything. Dont ever buy FROM SAMSUNG!!! They took my $2500 for the fridge but wont do anything to fix or replace appliance. Its only a couple years old. Buyer beware.
Terrible quality. Why? Poor construction, handle breaks easily, uneven, low powered heating, turntable malfunction. Bought it to match a Samsung stove. First mistake. As usual, Samsung has all the technologies but refuses to manufacture quality products that perform as good as they look i.e. all Samsung cell phones, the Ceran-top convection oven. Stay away from this brand. LG is much better in most instances.
My daughter turned on the stove. She then heard a buzzing, a pop, and saw smoke. I told her to turn it off and attempt to unplug it. My husband came home to unplug it and left it as it. I saw a white powder covering the internal glass, tiny pieces of glass on the bottom. The house was filled with a smoky (didnt smell like burning though). All the windows were opened to clear it. I started an online chat with Samsung. They told me to unplug it and wait for their people to come. That was 4 days ago. I have since had 2 chats and 2 phone calls with Samsung. Still nothing has happened. Last I was told that if I did not hear from them in 2-3 days to call back. That would be a week. Customer service has been unhelpful, unknowledgeable and a waste of time.
This microwave keeps turning on and off by itself, and now has a burn smell. I purchased it less than 2 years ago. Samsung refuses to help because it is out of warranty. Wow, had I known about their practices, would have opted for Whirlpool. Very disappointed. Now I read other consumers have had similar experiences. For the price I paid, this is very disappointing.
We have had two Samsung refrigerators since we moved and left our first one behind. Ours is a 2015 Samsung French Door Model RF30HBEDBSR. Love the pull out drink drawer and the easy outside access door.
Like everyone else posting here, I bought a Samsung Over the Range Microwave. At the time, Consumer Reports thought it was the best buy in microwaves. Last time I bother to read Consumer Reports. My Samsung isnt even 2 years old; but of course, no longer under warranty and it stopped working. I get weird symbols appearing on the panel, then SE, then a row of 6s and beeping. My husband tried to do what other people having this problem have reported doing on the internet. Unplugged it for a day, tried resetting the key pad. The bottom line is the keypad is flawed and even if he can coax the microwave to work for a short time, it ultimately quits working again. My husband went online to purchase a replacement keypad from Sears. Sears discontinued the part. I guess they dont want to be mixed up in this mess. I dont blame them. I called Samsung and good luck. They could care less about making good on a clearly flawed design/part. They told me they could arrange a repairman to come to fix it at my expense. I am not throwing away more of my money trying to fix this piece of junk. Samsung obviously wont stand behind their products.Time to buy another microwave; it took a lightning strike to kill my first GE microwave of 20+ years. I am headed back to the GE showroom. This was the first Samsung product I have ever bought and it will be the last. I really hope that they recorded my conversation with their representative on the phone today. Maybe when the company goes bankrupt, they will figure out in retrospect why! They deserve to go bankrupt.P.S. I saw another disgruntled customer has posted a video on YouTube about his microwaves bizarre behavior. He has the same model as mine and his microwave is doing the same thing that mine is doing. Watch the video and weep. Fight with your wallet and dont buy Samsung products!
I have had nothing but trouble from this Samsung refrigerator since I bought it. The ice maker has never worked correctly and it has been worked on and parts replaced over and over and over again. I would not recommend this product to anyone!! My experience has been a nightmare!
