Purchased Samsung RFG237 AARS in 2011. It stopped working completely in Aug, 2019. It needed $850 worth of repairs including a new compressor. Before this we had $650 in repairs for the freezer, draining, misc items. I was expecting this to last more than 8 years. The spare fridge in my garage is 34 years old and has not required any repairs.

This refrigerator (Samsung French Door Refrigerator) is a huge disappointment. Both the refrigerator and freezer have frozen up. The ice maker no longer works. Many technicians refuse to work on Samsung appliances because they can’t be sure that they can even be repaired. I’ve had this refrigerator for less than 3 years. I’m having to defrost both sections on a regular basis. It’s not even a “lemon”. It’s just a bad product. Stay away from Samsung.

I have been in touch with Samsung regarding my microwave since August 3, 2017. At first, they were going to send out a tech to look at it since it completely just stopped working. My microwave is less than a year old and under warranty. After three days without a call from a tech to schedule an appointment to come fix it I called Samsung back. I explained that no one has come by or called about fixing my microwave. The customer service rep said they would contact the company about coming out to repair it. I also asked for the companys number. After still not hearing from them I called the company myself. No one answered so I left a message. After another few days with no call back I called Samsung again and reported the issue. Next, the rep put me on hold and tried to contact the company with no success. That rep said they would keep trying and call me back. Finally, after more than 2 weeks without a working microwave a Samsung rep called stating that they did not have anyone that could repair it and would issue a refund. But of course, there is a catch! I had to supply a receipt that I no longer and had paid cash for the microwave so no bank record. Once I explained this they said they could still issue a refund but it would take 10 days of review and then they would send out an email to start the process for getting a refund. I am not a criminal nor am I trying to scam them. I would much rather have my microwave fixed than purchase another one. But that does not seem to be an option. I cannot understand why it would take 10 days for review. Also, the refund is going to be $37 less than what we paid. We have had other Samsung products that we have had to replace or repair. We replaced our dishwasher and our refrigerator need to be replaced. It has several issues. We will not be purchasing anymore Samsung products or recommending them! We finally just went ahead and purchased another microwave and have the Samsung sitting around waiting for the email about getting a refund. Samsung requires you to take a picture of it with the cord cut and the serial number. I get this procedure but I should not have to wait 10 days for an email in order to send this information in. It seems like a stall tactic to me. I am a service business owner and would never have a customer wait over a month for results!

Hi I am from chennai, India. I bought Samsung side by side fridge from Samsung store here. The model is RH77J90407H. From day one I have been facing issues and now I have to deal it legally. Please do not buy from Samsung stores. Visit the store for the features and benefits of various products, but buy from other Samsung dealers who also deal many brands. Samsung store people are hopeless after sales. Dealers other than Samsung stores put customer satisfaction first and help you in getting the refund or replacement. Within one year Samsung technicians have changed water dispenser unit, compressor, PCB board and main mother board in my fridge. Beauty is my noise problem is not solved but is more now. As a bonus four of fridge trays have broken during the problem solving process by technicians.

We had the first one go out last year right before thanksgiving. Samsung sent out A&E local service tech. He was rude to my wife and told her to unplug the unit. We lost all our food - they dont care. But a manager at the local Lowes exchanged mine for a new one. Now same thing, seven months later same thing, this time the service tech said he knew what was wrong as he walked into our house said that it was a design flaw and it happens to all of them. Now were going on three weeks with four kids without a fridge. I spent 2 hours on the phone with a representative and he was even laughing at me a couple of times. Ice will build up and the blower fan is grinding the ice causing the cord to get hot will burn you when you unplug it. Afraid it will catch fire but they still just laughed. Please dont buy from Samsung. They have no customer care at all.

I have complained many times to Samsung about my expensive dishwasher which will not clean dishes. The first service call was because I had to keep flipping the breaker. The service man knew exactly what to replace when I told him about the breaker. He said it was a defect in this Samsung dishwasher. I have called numerous times concerning dirty dishes and they have a lousy excuse about aluminum causing it or phosphate being removed from detergents. I now have a dishwasher 3 months out of warranty that impellers do not spin and spray, fills and drains okay. Now I dont know what to do. Should I request an expensive service call? Or buy another dishwasher that has been recommended as great to clean dishes?

This has been going for many years just after the warranty was up. Called Samsung got no help. Will never buy another Samsung product. I purchased 4 Samsung appliances for my kitchen and had to repair 3 out of the 4. But by far, the stove has been the worst. Since the beginning, the stove would not keep the set temperature. I would preheat it, it would hit the set temperature and then begin declining after about 5 minutes. Significantly declining- continuously dropping. I had to have a repair person out 3 times to fix it- which meant I had to wait at home 4 hours each time. I was promised a refund 3 different times when they deemed it irreparable. I would be waiting for my refund so I could purchase a different (not Samsung) oven and would call them back only to be told that my refund had been denied (even after receiving refund acceptance texts) for various reasons. They never contacted me to tell me that it had been denied- just left me waiting. Each time, I was asked to resend a different document (receipt, picture of serial number, etc) that I had already sent them previously. Each time I called (a total of 6 times), I had to wait on hold for at least an hour. I would be promised, promised, promised that they would take care of me and then nothing. The last customer service representative I had even refused to read documentation of my experience to explain my frustration. So...the product is faulty and customer service is lacking. Stay far, far away from Samsung appliances. Hopefully, you will learn from my mistake.

Tonight as I was cooking some appetizers in the oven at 375 degrees, we heard an odd buzzing sound, then a pop, then black smoke started streaming out the upper back part of the oven, accompanied by flame. Our house now reeks of burned electrical components. Until this point, the oven has worked fine. We bought it in November of 2011. We will never buy a Samsung appliance again. I will be phoning them tomorrow morning, but I highly doubt anything will come of it. I guess its okay to spend hundreds on an oven that will only last that long and be a huge safety hazard. I will repost after I talk to them.

Purchased Samsung fridge and had problems with ice not coming out of dispenser. For months they kept telling me to reset ice maker. Then they told me it was the ice tray. It was because the auger wasnt turning. They sent me 2 replacements. Both were the wrong size. Sent a repairman over with wrong size tray 3 times. Finally told me ice tray was no longer available then it was available then it wasnt. Found out from part dept at Samsung it will never be available. They gave me the run around for over a year just so they could prorate longer, so they could give me less money. I may accept their offer but have a feeling they will find some excuse not to honor it. Does any anyone know what is in the acceptance package? Email me at **. We should all get together and sue them. I am serious.

I purchased 3 appliances on February 6, 2015. They totaled over $5000. Today, 6 days out of warranty, the water dispenser stopped working on the refrigerator. We have done everything that needs to be done - according to the manual - and it still is not working. I called customer support and 3 times was disconnected. I finally reached someone and felt I had to speak fast or there would be another disconnect. Each person had my phone number and no one called me back. I went through all of the same things I had done before the phone call. When they realized I was 6 days out of warranty, they tried to sell me an extended warranty for $400 +. I said that was absurd so they said since I was a good long term customer, they would send me to their executive support department (or some similar name). I am now sitting with a very expensive refrigerator that does NOT dispense water. I have spent the last 2 hours trying to fix this and am very fed up with Samsung. I will NEVER purchase another product from this company again and I have been a long term customer. Another thing, it is very difficult to understand most of your customer service people. There is a disconnect for sure. I was NEVER given a confirmation number, NOTHING.

Dual cooler, French door model. RF28HFEDBSR. This model, and other Samsung models, will not adequately defrost automatically. This eventually will cause ice to accumulate on the coils and it stops working. This requires the owner to empty the contents and manually defrost the refrigerator for a day or two. Only 2 years ago I bought the French Door refrigerator. Had problems with the ice maker but I figured I would put up with using a hair dryer every few months to get the frost/ice out. Then about 2 months ago, major fan noise. Then temperature goes to 54. Called Samsung. Gee sorry its not under warranty. Well I need it fixed. You have to use one of our certified repair companies. When can they come out? I ask. They couldnt get anyone out for 5 days. I needed a refrigerator fixed sooner. Had a serviceman come out. Main control board and heater both had to be replaced. $700. Then this week, same thing is happening. Called Samsung and they said someone would get back to me to schedule a repair. They contacted me 48 hours later, and tell me a repair person will be here in over a week. I see so many bad reviews reports... Why doesnt something happen with making Samsung do something about these similar issues???

I purchased side-by-side model #RS263TDWP/XAA01 in July of 2013 for $1379 from Sears. We have been quite happy with it until recently when the upper shelves were not getting cold (70 degree temp reading; the bottom at 46-55 degrees). There was some recent unusual noises in the fridge prior but subsided; phone tech suggested leveling but it is level. The doors close and are aligned properly. That was not the problem.Tech was sent to service the refrigerator and after electronically testing the unit announced it was the defrost sensor that was out (DA32-00006W). Obviously we had to replace- BUT NOT COVERED!!! The 5 year warranty is on the sealed refrigeration unit only not including the electronics needed to operate. REALLY!!?? Samsung is an electronic based company and this happens? After 1.5 years, an electronic part goes out and I have to pay for this $28 part and $220 labor!!? And to make matters worse, the tech advised this part will last longer than the original one that was installed planned obsolescence?! How long is this part going to last? I have a 20 year old Kenmore that has never had a service call!I have purchased smaller Samsung electronics with no issues but really am concerned about this appliance and any other major appliance that I will be in the market for in the future. After 3 emails explaining this situation, I recd a Thank You and Hope we helped...no help only offers of future advertisements. After 40 minutes holding on the phone, did talk to a nice agent who noted my frustrations...only to recv another email the next day - that it is not covered. No Samsung appliances for me!

I will likely never purchase Samsung home appliances as they have been unreliable, service technicians do not recommend, and my dealings with the manufacturer have been severely delayed, unresponsive, and unhelpful. I purchased my home 3 years ago in which the investor renovated inclusive of purchasing new home appliances. In 2020 my fridge went out, within the warranty timeframe. For 4 weeks, Samsung could not get a tech to come and service my refrigerator so they decided to provide me with a refund. I was never verbally informed by the manager to keep my fridge. I sent in my documentation and was told after my fridge was hauled away that I was supposed to keep the fridge. Customer support has been horrible, for months Ive tried resolving this issue. Samsung is not honoring the refund and I am out a grand as I replaced the appliance out of my personal funds. Ill never buy Samsung and will definitely tell my networks and other real estate constituents to stay away from these home appliances.

By now refrigerator was out of warranty and Samsung would not do anything! This is probably design defect as so many others have same problem and Samsung cannot correct it. In addition. I also have spot about 3/4 in. long below ice maker where the paint is coming off and, again, Samsung says its cosmetic and not covered. Two years ago I purchased a Samsung refrigerator (model #RS267TDRS). About a year after we bought it, we started to have problems with it NOT COOLING. Well needless to say, today it officially BROKE and all of our food has SPOILED. I immediately contacted Samsung and I spoke with Tiffany ** (operator #**) and Shonda ** (operator #**) of their customer service department. She told me that there is nothing that she can do to replace the refrigerator because it is out of warranty. After pleading with her that I have three small children under the age of five who need to have access to milk, juice and medication that requires refrigeration, she told me that she would schedule a service call (ticket #**). The problem is that I live in a rural part of Virginia. They wont be able to come to look at the refrigerator for a few weeks, let alone fix it on the spot or that it would be covered since it probably would be something that is not under their warranties. I need help! I cannot wait this long to get it looked at! I have already lost $500 worth of groceries and if I replace it with new food, we dont have a way to store that food. Please if someone at Samsung is reading this, take action to HELP ME. I am writing this post in hopes that someone at Samsung will see this and be able to get me a real resolution to this problem because I dont know what to do (maybe exchange for another used model or even a new one?). I currently work for the Marine Corps and we cant afford to buy another $1,500 refrigerator, especially since this one was purchased brand new 24 months ago from Lowes. I dont like dropping the we are a military family moniker, but the fact is I am a veteran who needs help. Again Samsung, please help! I am desperate since as a veteran, we dont make the type of money that most other families do. Not that any American family makes enough money to keep replacing refrigerators every two years. To be fair, I will update everyone if there is an amicable resolution to this issue.

Model RF220NCTABC/AA - cracking noise from doors. The problem with the doors is not exactly in the hinges themselves. There are two plastic pieces: one black in the top next to the hinge, another white in the bottom next to the hinges. These parts have the function of toggle-close the doors and unfortunately are not of the right quality. They are each attached to the door with one Phillips screw. If any of them breaks, you get the crack sound. I just removed the one on the bottom right and the problem went away. Your technicians answering the phone should be trained on that and even if the refrigerator was bought more than one year ago, send customers these parts for free. Probably the postage will be more expensive than the parts.

Machine has never cleaned dishes from day one and now it needs 600.00 worth of repairs. A fault code 7E keeps being logged and that will take a drive motor and circuit board replacement. Had service tech out twice while still under warranty for inability to wash dishes properly and they could never find a problem. Now the warranty is expired. It logs this water reflector problem and the parts are covered under warranty, but will cost me 250.00 labor to fix this piece of junk. I should have bought the Bosch instead. Very disappointed in performance of product purchased from what I thought was a reputable company. Ill never buy Samsung anything again.

Bought Samsung model DW80F600/AA dishwasher from Lowes for all the features
Bought Samsung model DW80F600/AA dishwasher from Lowes for all the features it had like quietness, stainless steel exterior/interior and food grinding capabilities. All was good until it suddenly started leaving dirt on dishes. After trying a few different dish washer detergents, decided to call in for repairs. Could not get a technician immediately so had to wait about a week. The technician eventually came and I must say he was really on time. He took a look and decided it was a return valve that needed to be replaced. However, he did not have it and it had to be ordered. The actual part was a small rubber valve that costs under $2. How it would not be in his van really beggars belief. So he ordered the part and had to come again after two weeks to allow for the part to arrive (was shipped by UPS ground!).Second time round, technician was not as much on time as the previous time but in fairness, called in early to say he would be late. So I have no fault with that. He called again when he was about 10 minutes away so I met him at my property. He quickly replaced the valve and ran a quick test. All seemed fine. And now the big disappointment! After just a couple of days, the dishwasher started behaving the same way as previously. I thought, if the original diagnosis was correct, then the return valve must have gone again. I looked at the return valve and it looks like a part that can easily fault so obviously Samsung never gave it some real thought. And now that they know it bends so easily, why dont their technicians carry it in their vans and as a result have to make two trips to carry out a repair? So, continuing with the dishwasher saga, technician called in again. As usual, the first visit is without parts but I still have to wait in the house for either a morning or afternoon appointment. This time decided he needed to replace two more parts (a sensor and a drain pump). As before, had to wait for the parts to ship by UPS to my house. Another appointment in 2 weeks to allow for the parts to be delivered.Fourth time, they sent a different technician. Spent about a couple of hours replacing the parts. Said all was well and left. Hardly a day went by and the same error code resurfaced. All this time, I had been calling the number that was provided by Lowes to schedule service. But this time, I decided I would call Samsung customer service direct. Did so and told them I have already had 4 technician visits. They said they do not have any record of it! They set me up with a new technician to come in and take a look. First appointment was on a Thursday but they cancelled it a day before saying the parts will not have been available. So they set it up for the Friday following the Thursday. Technician came, opened the dishwasher bottom piece, asked for a paper towel, wiped away some water from the sensor that was replaced previously then put it back. Ran a short cycle and it would not drain. He then concluded that it was not working as expected because I had a food disposal unit on the sink. Told me that their appliances should not be connected to the same plumbing as the food disposal so advised that I get a plumber to modify the plumbing. Was fed up at this stage. How on earth do they make appliances that will not work if there is a food disposal attached knowing very well that almost every modern American home has a food disposal unit under the sink????Looked up the user manuals. Found no evidence of mention of food disposal units so decided I was being taken for a ride. Called Samsung customer service again and they told me all they can do is send a technician again to get a second opinion. Told them I already had 5 visits. They told me they only have evidence of one. Asked to speak to a supervisor. None was available so set up an appointment for a supervisor call back. Supervisor called back within about an hour and said the best she could do was send a technician out again. Bad news is I have to wait another 8 days as there is nothing available sooner. So now waiting for the sixth visit and possibly a 7th, because I am pretty sure the technician will not be carrying any parts.I have never been so disappointed by an appliance before. Should have carried out more research before I landed on a Samsung. My older dishwasher was doing a much better job and I wish I had kept it. Dont lose your money buying this appliance!! Samsung should either get their act together or stick to things they do well in such as phones and televisions. They should stay out of the appliance business for now!

The ice maker stopped working within a few days after owning the refrigerator. It freezes up requiring the ice maker to be removed and thawed out. This has to be a common problem with this refrigerator as it works for a few days then the problem repeats. I would not recommend buying any item from Samsung as I think they are just interested in ripping people off and not standing by their products. They got caught with the cell phones but appliances are harder to claim damages even if the damages are clear design problems.

I have a 4 year old top of the line Samsung electric cooktop/oven that has always worked great, up until several months ago when it almost blew up. Many others have reported having the main computer board fail/catch fire. Mine was the 2 main oven heating, element wires at the solder connection app heating up, sagging and touched back metal panel. Wires shorted, blowing them off the oven. Luckily breaker tripped, shutting off power to oven, one wire did catch fire briefly. Dont remember what the warranty did cost but the 5 year one is prob worth it on the expensive ones. I looked at the back with the panel off and a thousand dollar unit has the same build quality as the 200 dollar one. **.

The unit was loud from the start, did not clean the dishes, the rollers came off right away and now there is an error code that caused the dishwasher to stop completely. An overpriced, poor performing appliance. Do not buy.

I purchased a full kitchen suite in June of 2018 and my gas range oven just quit working yesterday. I have received no help whatsoever from Samsung and have spoken with 3 different representatives. I mentioned to all 3 that I researched the problem and Samsung knows full well that they have a defective part that causes this to happen yet has not recalled the models or the part itself despite the fact that there is a pending class action lawsuit against them. I would hate to see anyone waste their hard earned money on appliances that cant even last a few years. Samsung should be ashamed of themselves. Appliances should easily last longer than 2 1/2 years. Hopefully my reviews will help someone else from wasting their hard earned money.

We purchased a Samsung RF28HFEDTSR French Door Refrigerator in 7/27/14 from Lowes. The ice maker never dispensed ice properly - slow and partially crushed on cube setting. The bottom Ice maker stopped working after 2 years. The top ice maker stopped working after 3 1/2 years now. It was freezing up - following Youtube advice we have been defrosting the back with a blow dryer for 2 months now. The fan is now making a very loud noise. We will have to call a repairman now. We will not buy anything Samsung again. This has been a disappointment since day one and we have called Samsung year ago to complain but since the warranty has expired they say call a repairman. We have had refrigerators in the past and most last at least 15 yrs. These are obviously defective refrigerators from reading complaints online, all mirroring our experience exactly.

We bought our Samsung from Lowe's. It was on sale and with my veteran's discount, it was a great price. We are empty nesters and the size of the fridge is perfect for us, with ample door storage. Lots of freezer space also. We love the filtered ice/water through the door options. The stainless steel is so easy to keep clean and looks really sharp. Temperature controls actually work where in some other brands we have owned they were more like idiot gages, nonfunctional. We have owned it six years now and still loving it. Only thing I would change is the location of the water filter. Put it up top so an old man like me does not have to lay down to make the change.

We bought a Samsung Side-by-Side Refrigerator on 24 Jan 2008 from Best Buy
We bought a Samsung Side-by-Side Refrigerator on 24 Jan 2008 from Best Buy with a 5-year warranty service plan. We have had problems with cooling that resulted in spoiled food several times. We had one situation wherein the fan had to be replaced because of the noise it made while the fridge was not cooling at that time as well. We had had constant problems with ice-maker not working. The motor or vent behind the ice-maker freezes up and has to be thawed about four times a year. The ice has to be removed from the unit and the ice-maker begins working about 24 to 48 hours later. We have had problems with cooling and spoiled milk resulting in another fan motor replacement in 2010. This month, the refrigerator stopped cooling resulting in untimely milk and produce spoiling. When we turned the refrigerator up to 3 notches, all produce, eggs and pickles froze and had to be thrown out. We turned the unit down to 2 notches and now we have had two packages of meat spoil that was just purchased last week with expiration date of 27 Sept 11 (meat to sausage in casing and ground sausage). We have a Best Buy serviceman coming today. Our service warranty expires in 19 Jan 2013 and we plan to buy another refrigerator (not Samsung)!

Purchased my Samsung electric range in January of 2015. It has been a year and a half, and the Samsung silver letters located right under the panel that contains the clock, baking settings, and so forth have peeled completely off, the white circles on top of the range that denote where to place the pan/pot are fading. I also noticed that the small black circles that indicate if it is, for example, front right or front left on the range are fading and the black lines around the knobs are fading as well. I was very excited to get this new appliance, and have tried to keep the stovetop as clean as possible. I have only used recommended cleaners for this kind of range, Needless to say, I now have permanent burn spots and I cannot get rid of them. When I clean now, I have to be extremely careful. Im afraid that the fading will continue and my range that is less than two years old will look like its 10 years old. Highly disappointed and will probably not buy a Samsung range again.

We were excited to buy our Samsung fridge. It looked nice, was spacious, LED lighting, and more. But we have had a lot of problems with the freezer, and so far, it has not been fully addressed. We have lost food, Samsung repair has been out 2 times, replaced 3 different parts, insulted us on the phone - and yet the freezer still has problems. When this first started, we did not realize the freezer was building up ice on the back of the drawer; this area is not visible. Ice was apparently also building up on the rails. So the freezer had trouble closing, and at some point it stayed open about 1/8 for a few days and we lost all our food. We had no idea this was happening. We had Samsung repair come out and they replaced 2 parts. It is a long story, but we were initially led to believe we would get reimbursed for our food loss; not only did Samsung refuse to do that, but a Samsung employee actually called us, and blamed us. Apparently that person was unaware that Samsungs own repair people had replaced two different parts. Blaming us is an attempt at intimidation, to avoid paying the reimbursement. We have this call recorded on voice mail as well. We had no freezer at all for a whole MONTH - for the Samsung repair process - but I do not get the feeling from anyone I have talked to that Samsung cares about this. And the repair did not fully work. Our problems continue, and we can hear ice dropping. A Samsung employee told us there were no complaints about our model at all, which is hard to believe because when we had Samsung repair come out again, the repairman said there was an actual Service Bulletin out on our model. He replaced another part, so that is 3 different parts replaced. Yet, after this 3rd part was replaced, our freezer continues to drop ice. From extensive observation, it seems likely to me that this is a design problem, for Samsung lower-drawer freezers that have ice cubes in the lower drawer. They overfill the container and fall out of the back. And this is not just my opinion - that the design is at fault - one of the repairmen also talked about this.So its been close to a year now that we have had freezer problems. The way Samsung has treated us - trying to blame us for this, and refusing for a long time to reimburse our food loss - has left us very unhappy with Samsung. They finally did reimburse us recently but only after we went to Twitter, LinkedIn, and other places. We are posting on social media (and on this website) because we want people to know what our experience is. Samsung did not have to treat us this way. I have even started a website also about this, and it has a blog too at: **. I suppose Samsung repair could come out yet again - but if its a defective design, then there is nothing that a repairman can do.Since Samsung seems unable (or unwilling) to help us get this resolved, we will at some point just sell this thing, at a big loss no doubt, and find some other brand of refrigerator. If you want to avoid what we have gone through, I recommend you do NOT buy a Samsung refrigerator - or any other Samsung products, if their customer service in other products is as bad as this!

I bought Samsung dishwasher, Model# DWF600UTW/AA. While still it is under warranty service, there was a problem with run ending in the middle and light started flashing. I called for service. The service person pulled out the dishwasher, and pushed it back very hard. When he left, I started the run, and dishwasher leaked all over and water puddled in the basement. There was not just the damage in the basement, but I had to re-install the dishwasher again with my own money. I never had leak before, the service person caused it, and Samsung doesnt want to pay the damages. The standard answer is, warranty is on the equipment parts and not the installation. Although their service person caused it! Another thing, if there is a damage-claim, Samsung transfers you to corporate affairs. They make you wait on the phone for hours! I strongly will advice anyone, not to buy their equipment, because if something goes wrong, this company doesnt take the responsibility. Neither they have a good warranty service.

I purchased a Samsung convection range/oven on 5/30/2014 from Best Buy for $770. I dont do a great deal of baking, but mostly casseroles, meats, etc. I believe baking cakes or cookies would have tipped me off earlier that the oven wasnt heating right. Over the last few months I noticed that it was taking much longer than usual for the food to cook. One evening when I opened the door to pull out a chicken casserole, the chicken was raw inside and the rice was crunchy. The oven was set at 400 degrees but I could hold my hand in the oven and it only felt warm. I am going to buy a new oven and you can be sure it wont be a Samsung. As a note, I also purchased a Samsung dishwasher which is 3-years old and Ive already replaced the pump and it looks like it needs to be replaced again.

We bought our Samsung microwave model SMH8165W on Feb 23, 2011. I know this b/c I actually registered online w/ Samsung to get the extended 1 year + 3 month warranty. They have engineered their microwave to be built to last barely above a year. Let me say, it is beautifully designed and at an inexpensive price point. It was the best deal at the time. It had features that we NEVER used - like, any of the snack features. My husband still loves it.... BUT... within a year, one of the LED legs blew out in the first number. We ignored that. It wasnt big enough to bother, you could still read the number. Id already misplaced any paperwork. Now, on Feb 18, 2014 - almost 3 years to the day that we purchased our Samsung we have another interesting error. Our under microwave light that goes from On, to Night light, to Off.. it always stays ON. One of the lights blew out so we changed it thinking that maybe that was the problem. Nope, both bulbs now burn brightly. We are out of warranty. We wont be buying Samsung again. We actually need a light on at night to cook, being in a dark kitchen. So in the meantime Im buying a set of 3 stick on LED lights for $6 on Amazon. One LED light will last 1000 hours. Lets see if it outlasts the Samsung.

We bought a bottom-freezer fridge in June. It worked fine at first (although we were on vacation for 3 weeks in July and August). In August, water appeared on our floor, and was traced to a slow drip from the water dispenser. Samsung sent the problem to a local service shop, who told us to run 2-3 gallons through the dispenser to purge air from the lines. This had been done by installer; we did it and the drip persisted. The tech came to our house and reduced the water pressure. Drip persisted. NOW Samsung tells us that future service calls are our responsibility, for a new unit still on warranty!!

I had a 7 year old Samsung refrigerator that froze up completely in the back which stops the fan and then the refrigerator does not cool. Had it repaired 3 times in a month. Problem kept happening and I pretty much didn’t have a working refrigerator for 5 weeks. Finally the repairman told me the whole cooling system had to be replaced. The cost would be at least 1200.00. I wasn’t going to put that much money into a refrigerator that was over 7 years old. I thought this was just bad luck and went out and bought another Samsung refrigerator. 2 years later the exact same thing is happening and I’m going through the same thing with the Samsung Repairman who keeps coming in to fix it and two weeks later it happens again. Now I find out doing my research that this is a common problem for Samsung refrigerators and there are two class action lawsuits against them. Because the refrigerator is less than 5 years old the main cooling system is still under warranty, but Samsung doesn’t want to admit that that’s the problem and replace it. Customer service is not helpful at all and they really don’t care how long you have to go without a refrigerator. Besides this problem the inside of these refrigerators are made like crap. All the shelves on the doors have cracks in them and all the wheels on the drawers have snapped off. I will never buy another Samsung product again, unfortunately it was a very expensive lesson to learn.

Another shelf, drawer etc. cracked, broke or crumbled and has to be secured with flex tape or thrown in the garbage because it is unusable. See pictures. Its completely unbelievable!Hours on the phone with Home Depot (where we bought the additional warranty) and they send us to Samsung & Samsung sends us to National Factory Service for diagnostic and at a cost to us: $85. They heard. They came. They saw. They did nothing. Just head scratches and the words: PARTS OUT OF WARRANTY. When I call Samsung these days, they try to sell me an extended warranty for $129, which doesnt cover the parts. I mean have you ever? Its such a joke! I purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator model RF23HCEDTSR from Lowes on 8/22/15. Two years later on 9/25/17 my refrigerator is freezing all my food. Tech said that the control board is bad therefore the fridge is running continuously. The part was ordered and has NOT come in after 7 weeks and Ive been told that its on a National backorder waiting for the mfg to produce the part. It appears Samsung has a full defect on this board and it should be recalled and replaced at no charge. If the part were even available it would cost me $389.00 to replace/repair but after reading all the horrible reviews and money spent trying to repair the fridge it may be wise just to trash it and buy a GE or Whirlpool that can at least be repaired if needed. Not happy that Lowes would sell a product that clearly has major issues.

I recently replaced all my appliances and I was tempted by the Samsung style so I bought all Samsung appliances. The problem so far was the dishwasher after 2 months old. The representatives dont really know what they are talking about. They just waste even more of the time. They are very polite though but not helpful. RF263BEAESR/AA - We bought this fridge less than two years ago. I agree with the other reviews that it is a bit noisy but thats not the worst problem we have. The ice maker is awful! The ice remains in the chute (in the door) and then melts and leaks out of the dispenser! We end up with water dripping down the front as well as inside the fridge, in the door shelves and under the produce drawer. We have to keep a folded paper towel under the dispenser constantly! We purchased our Samsung Microwave (SMH1816S) for our kitchen remodel and had it installed in April 2014. The microwave died on 3/30/15, getting the dreaded error code of 5E. We called Samsung (800-726-7864) on 3/30/15. Having read these reviews, we were prepared for the worst, and that is exactly what we got. DENIAL, DENIAL, DENIAL. We were told our warranty no longer existed. Even worse, they told us our Model number and Serial number didnt even come up! They consistently told me they could give me the number of their service center, but that we would have to pay for the repairs. I argued for 45 minutes with ** explaining to her that we would in NO way pay for the repair of a defective product… something that Samsung is FULLY aware, yet continues to deny. She then said she would have the Tech. Dept. call me the next day. No one got back with me so I called back on 4/2/15 and spoke with ** which got me nowhere, so demanded to speak with a Supervisor. I then spoke with ** of Executive Customer Relations. He, again, tried to deny that Samsung has a serious problem with their microwaves. I cited the over 300 complaints on Consumer Affairs. After 45 minutes of arguing, he finally relented and said they would send a repair tech out at no cost but that the only part they would cover would be the control panel as this is the part that seemed to be the cause of our complaint based upon our error code. Today, 4/10/15, the repairman came out and replaced the control panel. And, not surprisingly, the microwave is still dead! He claimed it must be the main board that needs replacing as the new control panel did not solve the problem. As he only brought a new control panel, he said he would send in our repair results and that someone would contact me. I asked him what a new main board would run and he said he had no idea what the cost of parts ran as only the Joplin, MO. office would know.At this point, I am totally disgusted with Samsung. Seems to me that if it is not the control panel, then it is something else. Bottom line is these microwaves are crap and whats more frustrating is that Samsung is fully aware of it, yet will not take appropriate action… such as recall them. All I know is that when I am contacted, I am ready to fight once again for this worthless item to be fixed BY Samsung at no cost to us. We have not even used this microwave for 1 year and for it to die on us, is absurd! Would love to hear about anyone elses similar experience with failure of the main board. I can only reiterate what everyone else seems to feel… why has a Class Action Lawsuit not been put in action? I know this is a long standing complaint and is extremely common. Is there not an attorney in the house who has experienced this problem with Samsung Microwaves? I will be the first to sign the petition if the challenge is created. I will write more about our travails once Samsung calls me. And if they fail to do so, I will be calling them! NO ONE SHOULD PUT UP WITH SAMSUNGS DENIAL FOR REPAIR! If you dont get what you want, fight for what is right! It has worked for me thus far. They simply cannot keep denying these claims.Updated on May 5, 2015: This is a continuation of a previous review published 4/10/15. It is vital that every Samsung consumer read this tip. We went through the same agony as everyone in dealing with Samsung and their refusal to acknowledge or assist in the repair of these defective microwaves. We spent hours on the phone with several Samsung employees.. most in the management dept. Each phone call got us the usual response... we can provide you with the number of a service repair company but the cost is up to you. Just so you understand, I do not put up with lies nor do I put up with injustices. I do not let them go. It was not until after I finally demanded to speak with someone in their LEGAL DEPARTMENT that I got any satisfactory response. I was told that the only thing they could give me was the email address for their legal dept. So, I wrote the Legal Dept.. ** on 4/16/15. I expressed my disgust with Samsung and urged them to read the reviews on ConsumerAffairs.com. I pointed out to them that they were completely unethical in their handling of the hundreds (actually probably thousands if you take into account those who just did not write a review on ConsumerAffairs) of complaints as to the dreaded defective microwaves. I warned them that a Class Action Lawsuit seemed to be encouraged by most. On 4/17/15, I received an email from the Legal Dept. (I will not give the name as it seems the names are bleeped out). The email approved the cost of repair for our microwave. We, too, had the common 5E/SE error code. The technician came out on 4/21/15 to make the repair. Turns out we had to have the motherboard replaced (having already replaced the control panel) before the oven worked properly. We do not feel the headaches are over. It seems as if many of these issues arise again after a few months of use. We will not be surprised when/if this happens again. Bottom line, these microwaves need to be recalled or a Class Action Lawsuit should prevail. Samsung is only putting a temporary fix on these defects. Since the Legal Dept. acted as if my complaint was new to them, I can only encourage everyone to write the Legal Dept. of Samsung to voice their complaint and to get appropriate action. Hopefully this helps all of you who are getting nowhere with Samsung.

We bought a Samsung French door refrigerator and 6 months later the ice maker stopped working. We have placed services calls 3 times and it still doesnt work. I would give a zero rating if there was one. We had a warranty but they terminated our warranty because they couldnt fix it and didnt want to replace it. This is the worst company I have ever purchased from and will never buy any Samsung product again.

We finally got an energy efficient washer. We weren’t used to no agitator but googled the difference. The newer washers push water through the clothes vs the old way of pushing the clothes through the water. It fills with only a fraction of water estimated by the weight of the articles. That scared us at first as it didn’t seem to add enough water to possibly wash clothes and get them clean. After more researching and doing loads of laundry. This Samsung has gotten the clothes much cleaner. I don’t like how it takes longer to wash clothes with these machines but it is what it is. The machine is very quiet vs our old ones. We no longer have to shut our laundry room door. We forget it’s even going until it plays a song when done.

My Samsung refrigerator failed when it was less than two years old. The refrigerator does not get cold enough to prevent food from spoiling. Its only 50 degrees inside. The repair cost is more than half the cost of a replacement. I asked Samsung to help with the cost of the repair. Their representative was rude and did not return calls promptly as promised. I think Samsung thinks that by stalling, they will force me to pay the exorbitant repair costs. Instead, I will buy a Whirlpool refrigerator that is made in the USA. No more cheap Chinese junk for me!

Samsung has very poor customer service, you purchase the product expecting the product to last a while, however, after having it for only 4 months, there are problems. I am not happy with the after purchase customer care, they are not interested in resolving your issues. I was a big fan of Samsung simply because Ive always had numerous Samsung phones, after this issue, I cancelled my phone and purchased an iPhone. I purchased a French door refrigerator RSG309 that has a computerized display, which was my first mistake. I thought, because it was Samsung, it would be okay, I was sadly mistaken. After contacting the customer service center so many times and remaining on hold, being transferred numerous times, having to repeat myself over and over again like a broken record, I gave up. The display does not work, I have to unplug the refrigerator constantly to reboot it so the dispenser can operate properly. This is the worst customer service ever.I am frustrated, I will never purchase a Samsung product again. I definitely plan to seek legal advice because the product is practically new, I purchased an extended warranty and still cant get assistance.

I called Asurion which is the company who oversee the protection plan. They did send someone out to fix it but the same thing keep happening again and again, it’s eight times I have to call them for the same thing. Right now there are mold building up in there and when I tell them there are tell me it’s my responsibility. But if it’s wasnt for the water and the sweating inside there wouldn’t be any mold. Can somebody tell me what the next step I should take. I have pictures to show what am talking about.

I purchased a Samsung stove, microwave, and refrigerator with a bottom freezer. The fans kept getting louder, so we called Samsung, who would only refer us to a repair person. Even though the back of the refrigerator is sealed, and the warranty says it covers sealed parts, we were told that it didnt include the fans. We were referred to a repair company and were told it would cost us approximately $375 to repair. We looked at reviews on this website and became extremely upset. Not only is this a common defect for this refrigerator, repairs have failed, having the same problem reappear. Why cant something be done to protect the consumer. I will never buy another Samsung product, plus I read that Samsung is owned by Maytag. What do we do? Weve purchased many, many items at Lowes, where we bought these items. You would think they would stand behind their product, but no, they only sell them.

Owned a RF28HFEDTSR Samsung French Door for about 2 years and suddenly the fan in the back of the fridge started making a horrid noise as if it was broken. Opened the back panel to find that the awful design allows for ice to build up back there and clogs the fan and element. I thawed it with a hairdryer, and it was fine again. This repeats every 2 months for about a year. Fan wakes up us in the middle of the night (yeah, that loud). Take out all the food, remove all the shelves, unscrew the frozen-solid screws on the back panel, break the cheaply-made Styrofoam case, sit holding a hairdryer for 45 minutes in the middle of the night. Rinse and repeat. Absolutely maddening. Repair guys cant do anything to remedy this. Then the top icemaker started frosting over constantly and had to have a similar treatment every month or so. After a year of this nonsense, the fridge just stopped cooling altogether. Threw it on the tip.

French Door RF26VABPN repeat water leakage issue - Bought this appliance 10/08 & am recently encountering the 3rd problem since purchase which, according to other reviews, makes me one of the luckier owners having had it now close to 9 years. The 1st problem was continued water leakage with ice accumulating under both crisper drawers. I ended up calling a Samsung approved repair center that came out, evaluated the problem and ended up having to order a major part with total repair cost of $450. This occurred in 2014. Then the icemaker started making clicking noises periodically a year ago & finally stopped working. Tech charged $99 to come out but told me I could buy & replace the icemaker myself, which I ended up doing - Final cost $250. As of a month ago, the same problem is occurring with water accumulating under the crisper drawers & flowing out the front. Im not ready to spend another $450 so Im shopping for another refrigerator, anything except Samsung!!! The refrigerator before this model was a Whirlpool side-by-side that worked well over 20 years problem free. Refrigerator bought at Lowes, Gainesville, FL.

My wife and I bought a Samsung RT5000K Top Freezer Twin Cooling Plus™, 350 L refrigerator for Courts Jamaica Limited. The first month the front plastic on the tray under the freezer compartment split down the middle while it was being wiped off. It was as if it had dry rotted. In the first three months the door started to bubble and this is the one that has the stainless steel look. They replaced the skin after a lot of complaining and then the door would hardly close by itself when they were done and they left all the plastic on.Now the rubbers are starting to crack on the door and we have not had the thing a year yet. The door is making a creaking sound once in a while when you open it and the refrigerator from day one has been making weird sounds. It also runs very hot and for an inverter type, the electric bill has not gone down at all. Have been trying to find the year of manufacture and cant seem to get any answers. I believe it was in storage a long time before being sold. Very disappointed and would never buy one again. Will continue to take to social media to get some answers. I had the issues with my fridge in Jamaica and I was able to get support sending an email to **.

I hate my DMT800 Samsung dishwasher. It does not heat the water nor clean the dishes well. It is about 3 years old and its torn up. There are only certain repair companies that are allowed by Samsung to repair their appliances and some will not repair the appliance if its under warranty. The company I call charges $89.95 for a service call and if they can repair it, they will waiver the service charge. I think that this means it will be expensive to repair it. Im going to buy a new one and it definitely wont be a SAMSUNG.

I purchased a black stainless steel appliance package and its been a nightmare. Initially the stove was scratched during installation, so they sent me a new one. The new one sounded like it was about blow up and clicked and clicked. The lady said it was because its cold in Colorado?! They swapped it out. Then there is the refrigerator. With the first one, the right door wouldnt stay open, so they sent out someone to fix it. After he fixed it, the right door stayed opened, but the left one didnt. They claimed thats how they are supposed to work for efficiency. No, thats simply not true. They sent a new one. This one had a terrible buzzing and humming sound every time it turned on. They sent me another one. This one was even worse, but the good news is that the doors stayed opened. Clearly how they should work. So, I let them know about the loud sound and they sent me another one. Its the worst one of the three. Im at a loss. Does Samsung just make a terrible product? The dishwasher doesnt clean the dishes. I always rinse them and make sure there isnt much of anything on them. And it stinks!! I keep the door open, which is annoying. Very very disappointed in the products. This has been going on since I purchased them less than 6 months ago. I have spent hours upon hours trying to talk to someone, emailing, and waiting for my 8 different appointments. I do not recommend their appliances at all. They look good, but not worth the money.

We bought a new Samsung convection microwave, Model MC17J8000CS, and a Samsung refrigerator, Model RF4287HARS/XAA, which was delivered Sept. 14, 2016. Microwave - Suddenly stopped in middle of heating vegetables 13 months after purchase (last night). Great! Refrigerator - Frequently, the middle drawer gets hung up and won’t close without a few tries. Just don’t open it too far and keep trying. You’ll get it; well, I always have. If you change from CRUSHED ice to CUBED ice, be ready for NO ice to drop into your glass. Open the door and you get your ice. Yes, it’s all over your feet and the floor but at least you know where it is. On the positive side, I think they’re attractive appliances. My husband thinks they spot too easily but I’m ok with that. In all fairness, he is the one who cleans them.

I have a Samsung refrigerator that I purchased about 3 years ago. Last Christmas we lost power for about 10 seconds and the refrigerator stopped working. I unplugged it and waited about 10 minutes and plugged it in again, and it started up again. Whoever heard of such a thing? I noticed one of the doors to the refrigerator was lower than the other, and scraping on the freezer door below... Ice maker is available, but I dont use it, and the cover kept falling off. Eventually the small box fell down into the freezer and I had to keep adjusting it until a friend finally unhooked it. Last night, (Sat. night) I opened the refrigerator door and noticed the temp. was 48 degrees. I unplugged again and waited 1/2 an hour then plugged it in again. It didnt work. I went to bed and this morning the refrigerator was working. I had a Samsung smart tv that lasted about 14 months and stopped working. My repairman said it could not be fixed and he had never seen such a cheaply made tv... I will never, ever, buy another Samsung product...

I sent it back asking where the great service was and no answer. We still have the same problem. As of now my gas grill burner boils water better than this Samsung range. Will not buy any Samsung product again. Should have gotten our first choice of GE but liked the looks of the Samsung range a little better. So much for appearances over quality. Purchased a Samsung Model ME21H706MQS microwave oven and stove in October 2017. The microwave replaced a (what I thought was junk) Whirlpool microwave that was nine years old. The Samsung was higher above the stove and met all Samsung installation requirements. Thanksgiving Day comes, cooking for family and friends and the bottom of the microwave and door melts! We contacted Samsung many times, each time speaking to different people and on several occasions receiving different ticket numbers. All in all, they have a Samsung service company come to my home, but only after providing a very short notice and stating we must be home or the service will be void. Service rep comes and claims that its physical damage and is not covered by Samsung. Well hello! It melted! In short, customer service is absolutely terrible, Samsung does not stand behind their products, their follow-up via service reps is pressing and inconvenient. Terrible experience and would not recommend a Samsung product, nor will another ever enter my home.

Just dont do it. You will be glad you didnt. This PoS I have has been a clunker from the beginning. The writing wore off the front panel in just months. It thumps when it runs. It has been down and broken more times than I can count, from input valve to water sensor to spray arms that wont stay on to fragile wheels to not draining, to not filling and worst of all, to the longest freaking dishwashing cycle I have ever seen while still not getting my dishes clean. Thank God I fix my own stuff, otherwise this $800 dishwasher would have cost me TRIPLE in repairs. It is a CONSTANT thorn in my side... constant. Not just the light or the turntable, but it was actually heating as well! Thankfully we were home when it started happening so we were able to prevent what Im sure would have been a major fire. Checked Samsung support site and apparently this is a known and rather common problem with their microwaves, with the only apparent fix being unplug the unit immediately and pay for someone (from your own pocket) to come and fix it. Unfortunately companies as large as Samsung have no interest in dealing with issues like this until someone dies, so recommend NOT buying a Samsung microwave unless you have fire insurance and are hardly ever home.

I have the bottom freezer, split door fridge model. I bought it solely because the GE Profile I had for over 10 years finally needed replacement (due to some cosmetic damage - no issues involving its functioning) and the Samsung was literally the only model that would fit into the custom space in my kitchen. Within the first months I noticed a lot of water pooling in the bottom below the crisper drawers and then in the crispers themselves. I stopped using them all together and then about a month after the 1 year mark (when the warranty ran out), the left door stopped closing appropriately. In fact, the only way to close it is to manually manipulate the fold and then close the opposite door. I finally got a service appointment, took a day off from work to wait and was told that the part has to be ordered and it will cost me $320!!! What an absolute piece of garbage.

I purchased a new refrigerator in June of 2016. The refrigerator was on back order and was received on July 2016, 1 month later. Purchased online from Best Buy. In December 2016 the refrigerator side stopped working. Called Samsung, ticket made, service ticket created, local repair sent to review. Tech said parts were needed and has received numerous calls on same issue. Fans seized and no cooling. When I purchased this refrigerator I felt it was to be a good 10 to 15 years before I would have any problems. My last fridge was a hand-me-down Frigidaire from my mom but felt I would go to a more futuristic appliance with bells and whistles. I was wrong. I have since lost over $400 dollars in spoiled groceries. I cannot use it because it does not cool. Lights are ice. I keep calling Best Buy and Samsung, and get the runaround. Samsung, ticket still open, parts in limbo. Best Buy wont accept it back since its past 45 days of original purchase. I still owe $1,200.00 on a $1,650.00 fridge.I wish I would have checked more reviews on these Samsung appliances. This is to warn others of what can happen to you if you do get such an appliance. Also to point out how Best Buy and Samsung support DEFECTIVE appliances. Samsung thumbs down. Sorry cant help you, is the answer. Best Buy thumbs down. Sorry not our problem after 45 days. Pay 3 times for service and maybe we replace it. Very disappointed with Best Buy on this enigma. Will hashtag this on Twitter and Facebook until I finish paying for it, and hopefully help some other sap from making the wrong purchase, and where NOT to purchase this item with no support or lemon law for defective products that should last at a minimal 5 to 10 years.
