Ice continually forms around the cooling fan which results in the fan hitting the ice making a loud noise and then the fan freezing up completely. I have had to replace the fan twice and remove the fan access door and de-ice the fan four times. There are videos on YouTube that show how to fix this issue due to the number of times this happens with this happens. Neighbor has the same refrigerator and has the exact same problem. Has all the bells and whistles and looks nice, only problem is the cooling function, the entire purpose for a refrigerator, works intermittently.
Bought french door refrigerator 4 years ago and since then a handle broke off, collecting water in crisper drawer because of faulty evaporator clip and spring to close door flap properly broke. Clip for door flap is no longer available and hoping this doesnt happen to evaporator clip also. Got rid of 20 year old refrigerator that didnt have such problems. Samsung is known to discontinue parts after a few years. From what I read, this is an ongoing problem with clips breaking. Stay away from Samsung.
This Samsung dmr78ahs dishwasher has been nothing but trouble. We constant failures. There are rope cables attached to springs that counterweight the door. They constantly break. The upper basket adjuster brackets fail yearly. Now the water inlet valve is leaking. These are all poor component quality issues and design problems. My cheap builder installed dishwasher lasted 15 years without a single issue. I just got tired of the noise. Junk, Junk, Junk!
We bought a refrigerator May 31 2011. The fridge made weird noises, kind of like an electrical surge. We had someone check it out because we didnt want a fire. We were told everything was fine. Sometime later, I started seeing water in my drawers and not thinking to much about it, cleaned it up. All the time wondering and curious where it could be coming from. My problem just spiraled out of control. One day I went to open my fridge drawer and was not able to open either one of them. They were frozen to the bottom of the frig, with at least 21/2 inches if SOLID ICE. I then had to take a chef knife and try to break the ice apart. It was unbelievable. I took some pictures because I couldnt believe it (Unfortunately, they were lost when my phone broke). I cleaned the mess up.This happened I couldnt tell you how many times. Or how much food had to be thrown out. Then I noticed the freezer was frosting up like one out of the 1970s. I had to unplug my fridge to clean out the freezer. Everything in it was covered with ice. More food ruined. Mind you, this is a frost-free freezer. Right. I have nothing but expense (food), aggravation, and no satisfaction at all. As of today 5/16/2014 my refrigerator is reading 57 degrees. I unplugged my fridge today, completely cleaned it out top to bottom. Threw out 2 garbage bags of food and thats where I am as of today. We paid right around 11010100 for this poor excuse for a fridge and not sure where to go from here. We will never buy another Samsung!!!
My range stopped working on January 12th. I called Samsung. I was told there isnt a warranty and that they dont support their products for more than a year. If I spend a few thousand dollars on an appliance, I expect better. The person I spoke to was rude and short and basically said tough. I know getting those calls from unhappy customers isnt always fun, but usually manufacturers of product take pride in their work and stand behind it. It is what it is. Turns out a wire, for some reason shorted out on 12th of January. My range is 2.5 years old. When that happened, the techs ordered some parts thinking it was the terminal that blew (guess it happens a lot). They had to order parts. They came out on January 18th and guess what? It wasnt the terminal. It was a short in a wire. But also the motherboard blew out. They ordered a new one and came back on January 20th, but the new board fresh out of the box, was cracked and didnt work. So they ordered another one. They came today, January 25th and that board, fresh out of the box was cracked also. I have been without a working range for 2 weeks now! I contacted Samsung about their less than stellar quality of parts and they informed me it was the service techs were not Samsung Authorized. Ha! They sure are. I am not opposed to paying for service. Its like a new car, you have to have service it. For me its about the quality of the product.I have never in my life been so disappointed in a product I purchased. I am so deeply discouraged in this company right now. How can Samsung, in good faith promote a product that only last a couple years? Then all of the parts that have been ordered are broken also? Thats wrong. The less than acceptable quality portrayed by Samsung is completely unacceptable. The moral of the story is this. I will never again purchase a Samsung Product. I will not recommend it to a friend and I will not give a 5 star rating to this kind of support, service or quality. I am telling everyone I know to never invest in Samsung. You do not stand behind your products. The quality of the product is less than stellar and consumers deserve better. I deserve better!
Samsung ref is the pits, I have replaced the control panel and the replacement has stopped working correctly. I have replaced the water inlet valves and now one of them is no longer working properly. The ice maker overfills and freezes the cubes in a giant lump. And all of this happens just after the warranty expired, of course. I owned a Samsung ref, stove, micro, dishwasher, washer and dryer - all are less than 7 years old. I have had to replace the dishwasher and washer and dryer. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance.
Just like everybody else in the country, the ice maker freezing up! What a waste of money, barely had it a year, and contract Samsung they dont want to hear it at all, so please dont buy this refrigerator.
I am very surprised that Samsung has not had to recall their microwave ovens. All of a sudden the panel shows a code SE or E5 error code. The micro does just not go dead. It starts doing strange things..... constant beeping.... coming on by itself..... blinking lights. These are not old micros. Mine is not even three years old. I called Samsung. They were less than helpful and suggested we call a service center. They ignore the problem and will not even admit that there is a problem. I am done with Samsung Microwaves. Never had a problem with GE!
Do not buy Samsung. Do not use Sears to repair appliances. Our relatively new Samsung refrigerator Model RB215BSSW has the freezer on the bottom. The refrigerator freezes the vegetables in the vegetable drawer. We paid Sears $350 to replace the control panel but that did not fix the problem. Sears was clueless. They were guessing at how to fix it. So much wasted money!! Do not buy Samsung!!!
My husband and I purchased a white Samsung French door refrigerator (RF26XAEWP) about four years ago. Recently we are noticing that the porcelain beneath the water/ice dispenser has begun to rust. When I contacted Samsung customer service, I was told that the warranty had expired and that this was cosmetic damage and we would be responsible for the repair. I was given the phone number for the Samsung Repair Service for my area and that was it. When I expressed concern that this refrigerator was rusting after such a short period of time and that possibly the porcelain coating was improperly or inadequately applied, I was told there was nothing they could do as the appliance was no longer under warranty. So now I am going to have to pay $502.90 to replace the door. Apparently it is of no concern to them that I have to pay this, given the fact that we feel the problem was inadequate porcelain coverage in the first place. After 47 years of marriage and many refrigerator purchases (various brands), we have never experienced rust on the refrigerator. That being said, we will fix this appliance as we cannot afford to purchase a new refrigerator, but we will never purchase another Samsung appliance again. This refrigerator was purchased at Lowes in Kissimmee.
I bought a Samsung French door fridge in 2013 and soon after we have been having the exact same icemaker problems and now after making loud noises, it has stopped working. Im glad I read what others have gone through. I will cancel the repair appointment which would have cost me $160.00 just for them to tell me that the compressor had gone. Thanks everybody, thats it for me and Samsung appliances.
I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher at Costco, Model # DW80K2021US. Samsung had its own warranty on it for one year and Costco was kind enough to place a two year warranty on it. I purchased it in June 2017 and it just quit on me October 2019. These should last longer than that but they are absolute junk. The water pump is gone, and it will cost at least $300 to fix - The dishwasher on sale was $499. Costco, please dont carry this junk or anything like it from Samsung. Costco will just get a bad rep from selling these bad products. Stay away from anything labelled Samsung.
Horrible. Everything people are saying here rings true. I had trouble with the electronics panel from Day 1. The timer would not turn off properly, and Samsung did finally send a tech, who did nothing. A year in, I was baking and was unable to shut down the oven because the control panel wouldnt work. I had to throw the circuit breaker to get the oven to stop broiling! I believe I figured that the problem is that the panel gets nuts when it gets too hot since it was ok after the oven cooled down in 15 minutes. Some oven --- aaaaargh!
I just purchased a Samsung microwave model# me16h702ses and gas range model# nx58h5600ss/aa. The microwave has steam coming out of the sides and the stove top is chipping. Put in 2 different warranty claims, took 2 days off of work to wait for repairmen. Was forced to uninstall and reinstall my microwave or pay someone to do it. Samsung claims that both appliances were damaged by me and refused to repair or replace either one even though they are both within the warranty window. I has purchased a Samsung s10e cell phone which has been replaced 2 times, the speaker phone doesnt work on any of these phones and Samsung refuses to fix the issue. They have horrible products and horrible customer service.
Bought Samsung refrigerator, RF18FENBSR in July 2017. Freezer door broke on one aside, called Samsung (warrantied till Aug 2017). They sent out Williston Repair Group rep who wanted to charge me $110.00. I declined, told him to leave. Called Samsung, they verified it was still covered and redid work order. After a few days, I called Williston back and was told they would not send anyone out because I had slammed door on their rep and was rude. Besides, door handles were exterior damage. Called Samsung back, was told that they would call them and straighten this out. They called me back and said that since the handle was EXTERIOR and subject to damage, it is not covered. If I could give them NO STARS, I would. Naturally, I will NEVER buy any Samsung product again, as I feel they cannot be trusted to stand behind their products. You have to be crazy to buy ANYTHING Samsung.
My 3-year old refrigerator (Samsung rsg257aars) stops making ice every 3-4 weeks. I have to empty the ice bin because ice is frozen together, then I have to run the blow dryer on the ice maker to thaw it so it will begin making ice again. There is obviously a bigger problem with this machine but I dont know what it is. I have tried for 2 years to get Samsung to fix this for the thousands of folks who purchased this lemon to no avail. Samsung is not going to stand behind this product, so I will no longer be a Samsung consumer!
Purchased a Samsung Microwave from Lowes in December and by May it started acting up not coming on or it will work for a 2 weeks and stop again. Now here it is a month later and this time its no longer working. I called their service center to have it repaired and they have canceled 3 times. Its been 9 days that I have been without my microwave. Now they scheduled it again for Friday... 3 more days later. I will never again in life purchase anything from Lowes. And anyone out there reading this l would advise you to do the same.
I bought this expensive Samsung 4 door refrigerator from Sears in 2012. The ice maker is the worse. Within 3 month it stopped making ice. Sears came to repair. This replaced the ice maker. It started working 2 month later stopped. Replaced all mechanism starts working again. 8 months later stopped again, replaced again 3rd time. 1 year later out of warranty. Called Samsung. They refused to do anything about it. Called local appliance dealer, had it replaced $595. Broke again within in 2 months. I looked up this refrigerator and not only this one, but other Samsung units have had many problems with the ice maker and Samsung is doing nothing about it. I would not buy this refrigerator or any Samsung if I was you. It was a $4,000 cost with no ice. They have terrible products.
My Samsung fridge started having problems in year 2. It is defective. The icemaker freezes up & stops producing ice, it doesn’t keep food at proper temps. Fridge back panel also freezes. Customer support is not good.
We purchased a Samsung black stainless steel French door refrigerator 6 months ago. We love the fridge but it was time to change the water filter (water and ice in the door). I just found out I have to SHUT OFF THE WATER SUPPLY TO CHANGE THE FILTER--- MAJOR DESIGN FLAW. I either have to pull the fridge out from the wall (big fridge -- hard to do) or shut the main water valve off at the street. Thats just wrong... What a pain just to change the water filter every 6 months.
It looks good but the inside layout doesnt meet my needs. The shelf that goes up and down is useless, and I find the freezer doesnt hold as much as I thought it would. My old 2 door Whirlpool, in my opinion was better.
Don’t buy a Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker freezes up. It is a defect and they replace with defective parts. The refrigerator won’t hold a constant temp, jumps into 50s without the door being opened or inside overfilled. Water leaks into the bottom of the fridge. Should have stuck with electronics.
We purchased a Samsung glass cooktop stove. Three months after our purchase the glass top cracked. The crack occurred the second time I used the burner. I noticed the crack the next morning when I went to dust the cooktop. A KitchenAid repair person told us, that this happens occasionally with glass cooktops. Glass can have bubbles, etc... This repair is covered under their warranty. Samsung however considers this physical damage and their warranty does not cover physical damage. Nothing bumped the stove or fell on top of the cooktop. We have had a glass cooktop for twenty years, so it took me a while to understand what this meant.Regardless of what is wrong or if there is a defect in the product that results in physical damage, then it is not warranted. I am amazed that they can get away with this. I will NEVER buy another Samsung product and plan to report this to every consumer protection agency I can reach. This is definitely a buyer beware organization. As another reviewer said, their warranty is useless.
Samsung Two Sided Refrigerator (Model RS22HDHPNSR). Bought summer of 2015 at Best Buy. By early 2016, when trying to replace the water filter the first time, the filters didnt fit. The teeth of the locking system didnt even look the same. When I called to have it serviced, Samsung came out. Technician explained that the filter system has changed since the make of my fridge. He changed out the whole system as he said it should have been done before the purchase. Now today, April 2017, the filter literally popped out of the system, cracking the plastic filter head off and water gushing all over my kitchen floor. Two problems within less than two years for a fridge valued $2,000! Theres no words for that!!
Our 2008 RS267TD side by side freezes up all the time and has been repaired 5 times. Repairman claims this is a problem with Samsung refrigerators.
Purchased bottom freezer refrigerator model RF260BEA and 15 months later the freezer stopped working. The service dept set an appt. for me 10 days later. Since it is 3 months out of warranty they will charge $95. When I asked who would be responsible for the $500 of food that will be spoiled in 10 days, they said it was my problem! I have owned 5 refrigerators and never had any problems with them in over 15 years! Tried to complain directly to the company thru computer but no type of communications was available. Very disappointed with the quality of their product and will never buy a Samsung product again. Their service contacts were not at all interested in my problem and their factory service dept response time is not available in a timely manner!
We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator a year ago. Within that year our ice maker has broken twice. First they sent a repair guy. He fixed it and 6 months later it broke the same way again. We called and Samsung said sorry it’s out of Warranty. It’s a year old and the ice maker is still frozen up and sometimes melts and drips water. It costs a lot out of pocket to get it fixed. On top of that the middle drawer electric cords that operate temp was pinched so that didn’t work. Also I don’t think the fridge runs at the correct temp! We filed a complaint with BBB in the state they are made. We haven’t heard anything back. I will never buy one again! Don’t even want to Win one I would Rather have a Whirlpool or GE!
Refrigerator quit and repair people had it running three times but it kept quitting after running for 6-7 days. Parts were back ordered for 30 days on one repair. After 90 days of no fridge and losing $$$ of food we finally ordered a new GE.
Three years ago we bought a Samsung fridge, oven and microwave. First the ice maker stopped working. The first two repair places we called would not work on Samsung. The 3rd guy came out for $90.00 to tell us the ice maker design is poorly designed and cheap. Samsung knows this. The new better designed one is $600.00!!! Two days later our stove stopped heating up. Just waiting for the microwave to stop working now. DONT BUY SAMSUNG APPLIANCES!!!
On Oct 12 of this year I bought a Samsung Self-Cleaning Slide in Convection Range Model Number NX58H9500WS. I normally keep it clean manually, but decided to try the self clean option a week ago. After it heated up, black noxious smoke was billowing out of the oven. It was setting off all my smoke alarm, and spreading black soot everywhere. I shut down the machine from the electric junction and opened all the windows. I believe if I hadnt thought quickly it would have set fire to my apartment. I called Samsung, and they came here and inspected the machine, and voided the warranty. How does one void a warranty on a machine that was obviously defective, and could have caused a house fire? I went to the place I purchased the machine, because I had a warranty with them. They came, and they verified the stove had gone on fire. The company I purchased this from is taking care of the issue that Samsung should have taken care of. This is reprehensible on the part of Samsung Customer Service. We are now allowed to return said item to the store and will be picking out another range. You can guess it will NOT be a Samsung.
We acquired our refrigerator Model #RF4287HARS in late 2010. The representatives sold my wife and I on durability and long lasting performance. Since the purchase we have had less than adequate technicians out to work on the refrigerator. The freezer just stopped working, the ice maker stayed messed up and very aggravating to press buttons to change ice cube size. It just quit working. The freezer was never repaired after parts were ordered and placed on. Over $600.00 in costs to us. The refrigerator has been a total piece of junk at a purchase price of $2310.00. We bought parts and paid repairs, and the technicians did not get the right parts, then when correct parts came in they said it would be useless to put on because the freezer was not worth repairs. We were reimbursed $195.82! Ha.After all the stress and aggravation, needless to say the ruined food we stored in freezer - a great loss. We were so sickened by the fact that we thought we made the best choice in buying a Samsung appliance, but this has proven to be a very expensive and stressful experience. And we bought a dishwasher at the same time, but replaced it in 2 years for $650.00. It did not clean and didnt last. Just thought we made a mistake and bought a cheap one. The one we bought in late 2012 is working like a charm, but it is not a Samsung product.
Were having constant problems with our Samsung refrigerator ice maker. It freezes and stops making ice. I have to turn the ice maker off, let it thaw, and then tap the reset button. The ice is always extra wet. When we get ice from the front of the door, theres water that comes into the glass first. Our refrigerator is 18 months old and has been doing this for approximately 4-5 months.
We bought this microwave (SMH9151STE) in December 2010. Today (January 2013), 25 months into ownership, it just died. It powered off when I hit the Start button and no longer works. I told the Samsung rep that there seems to be a lot of complaints regarding this microwave online and that they should stand behind their products. They told me, Sorry, its only a 1-year warranty. What a waste of $175! I refuse to spend $150 to get it repaired. Id rather go spend $300 for a highly rated Maytag microwave.
I just became aware of the class action lawsuit related to the faulty ice maker unit in my refrigerator. My model isnt explicitly listed, however it does state the list isnt limited to those units. I purchased from Lowes 01/07/2017 for $1805.01. I purchased (thankfully) the extended warranty as well. We dealt with the noise forever; weve had 4 service calls thus far for complete inoperability. Most recently phoned 6/4/21. First avail 6/18; ordered parts; returned 6/25 to complete. Never worked, and is now displaying error codes. Next avail 7/5 to fix. I realize I am fortunate to have the extended warranty but it runs out in 6 months; then Im stuck with a faulty fridge. I am hoping Samsung will do the right thing and pay out for those of us dealing with this problem.
I have a Samsung French door refrigerator model #rf26vabbp. It is about 6 years old. It constantly freezes up in back. I had technician come out in first year but it was unthawed before they got there and worked again. I called Samsung and their suggestion was to turn off and let unthaw and a technician could come out. I think should be recall because so many of these refrigerators have same problem. I do not think should have to clear refrigerator out every other month to unthaw and fix problem.
We bought a Samsung Dishwasher at the Sears store in Plymouth, Wisconsin. It only worked for about three months. At first, very well. But after that, it would start and then shut off after about five minutes not washing the dishes at all. We would start it over and over and the same thing would happen, it would make noise as if it was starting the wash cycle, then shut off and the alert would have switched on its own to delicate, which we did not set it to. The soap was always untouched, the dishes never cleaned. We called Sears and they said our computer panel was not operating properly. We had them replace it. The dishwasher worked for maybe a month and has now stopped working again, even after a new computer panel was installed. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. I was going to buy a Bosch (which we have had at two other homes and felt it was an outstanding product), but was talked into this crummy one by the saleswoman who assured me it was even better than Bosch. Yeah, right. What a joke. It is pure garbage. I feel absolutely ripped off of 700+ dollars and a lot of aggravation with two lengthy service calls and hours and hours on the phone. I want my money back but feel I have zero recourse. I am so mad we threw good money after a very, very bad product. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG DISHWASHER. EVER.
I had the refrigerator for about a year when I poured milk for my cereal and I noticed it was spoiled and there was a bad odor in my refrigerator. Come to find out, the coils had frozen over. I called a repairman and he told me to unplug it to let it defrost. It worked for about a month and it continues to freeze every few weeks. After reading the reviews, I dont want to lose anymore food so Im just going to invest in another brand.
What a nightmare this Samsung fridge is! The compressor went out, the ice maker stopped making ice, & the coils freeze up and the fridge doesnt cool! I recommend filing with the BBB or your states attorney general so our voices are heard.
We bought a Samsung Refrigerator, model RF260BEAESR, under 5 years ago. Its cooling system completely failed one night ruining the entire contents of the fridge and freezer. We are a family of 5 so it wasnt half full either. Since then there have been 3 repair attempts with each resulting in more part failures and more parts ordered. It produces a horrendous chemical/oil stench when plugged in and I cant imagine thats ok to breathe for my three children. Its been a month with no fridge and enough is enough. Just replace the thing already, admit it was a terrible product and lets move on.DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS. All repair persons have said same thing, terribly made, they do not last, and they are a pain to deal with. Save yourself the headache and go with a different brand. Hopefully Lowes will honor their warranty and replace the lemon already and do the right thing. Thats why we bought the warranty and why they are offered, right????
My husband and I purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator with the bottom freezer. This refrigerator contains two ice makers one in the refrigerator and one in the freezer. The Ice maker in the refrigerator has stopped working and I found out today that Samsung does not make the parts to repair my ice maker in the refrigerator part. I have spent almost $3000 for this refrigerator and it’s only about three years old and I am quite upset at the fact that I can’t get the parts to fix it! The model number is RF263TEAESG/AA. The part number for the ice maker is DA-97-08117B.I have spoken to Samsung directly on May 24, 2019 and spoke to Ryan and she directed me to J and J international for Samsung parts, I spoke to a woman named Dawn who looked up my part number and told me they discontinued it and I cannot get it. What am I supposed to do with my refrigerator when my ice maker doesn’t work and I’ve spent all this money on it and Samsung discontinued the part. I still had to pay the appliance guy $150 just for showing up and letting me know that he can’t get the parts. I personally feel that Samsung is putting out poor quality appliances and I will never purchase one again. I am stuck with a Samsung refrigerator that does not work properly and I would like you to contact Samsung about this problem! Sincerely, Debra **.
I bought a ceramic top Samsung oven a few years. Within 18 months one of the burners quit working, then the front burner works but stays hotter than the setting, now the oven wont heat at all. I will never buy another Samsung oven. Very shoddy product.
After less than three years our Samsung Refrigeration top has slowly gotten warmer and warmer. Samsung Phone support said level the refrigerator and that may fix it. Well that was way off. Didnt purchase the warranty, a big mistake. Samsung brand is Mud for me. The Technician said he is seeing many Samsung Refrigerators with this defrost thermostat issue. These Samsung refrigerators should be on re-call for this obvious defect. Do not buy Samsung!
NewSamsung Dishwasher Model DW80F600UTS lots of different issues. From Day 1 hasnt worked properly. Steam vent under front of door wasnt shutting off, so water would leak out the front. HEAVY light started blinking, and pump wouldnt turn off, power wouldnt turn off, either. Had to turn off at breaker. Dried out the flood pan and sensor, and saw moisture on the water intake hose coupling, so tightened that. That helped for a week, then it went off again. Seems to be leaking out of tub, not hose. Luckily, still under warranty so service is coming in a few days.SERVICE: Parts take 10 days!! So the repair guy comes, figures out what is wrong, then has to order the part and come again. It can be 2 weeks before you can use your new dishwasher again! When I talk to the service company (that is not Samsung, but certified to do their repairs), they make it sound like they know exactly what the problem is before they come out - leading me to believe they had a lot of this problem!! Never will buy a Samsung appliance again! Wish I had come here first to read the complaints.
Our first Samsung was bought November 2009. It lasted one day before the temperature was 65 degree in refrigerator. Since Lowes had hauled our old refrigerator off this created a problem. They found another to replace it until our new one could arrive. When the new one arrived it had a heavy dent in the door. Lowes brought two more and they were both dented. We decided to keep the first replacement, but now the fast freeze keeps engaging and the alarm continuously beeps. The closest repair shop that you authorize is in Rolla Mo 35 miles away. I have had a lot of people tell me STAY AWAY from this service co. They never show up when they are supposed to and then charge ridiculous prices. This has been a nightmare from day one. After Lowes bringing 4 refrigerators, and only the first replacement being the one that worked or wasnt dented it would be nice if Lowes/Samsung would replace this piece of trash. Also we have a repair service T&C appliance service here in Steelville Mo. Why cant they be one of your authorized repairmen? ** from T&C has looked on internet trying to find a resolution to our problem. He has contacted Samsung but since hes not an authorized repairman your company will not work with him. I would like to continue business with Samsung, but I need more help from your end.
Ice start to build up in the bottom of the panel in the back of the freezer. I had to remove back panel, use hair drier to remove ice and make sure drain was not clogged. Worked fine for about 3 weeks and repeated. Do a lot of research on this problem and called Samsung. Response was that fridge was out of warranty and that any repairs would be at my cost. I insisted of the many reports of problems in the defroster, evaporator, sensors and even faulty tray reported both here and UK and inquired about whether this was an well known problem and if there was some form of solution or repair. Response was that I would be responsible for all repairs and was given closest authorized repair close to 35 miles from home. I tried the forced defrost using control panel buttons, based on technical manual and reports from other people but did not work. Already twice into freezer defrost with hair drier. Fridge also started showing high temperature on panel and blinking, just as had happened to freezer. Assuming some form of dependency between fridge and freezer defrost, I went and defrosted both sides, removing back panels and again made sure drain was not clogged. Today freezer started blinking again. There is a lot of information on the net about issues with this and similar series of this fridge. I cant believe Samsung is and wasnt aware of this defect when also lawsuits exist in the UK for this same issues of defective evaporator, sensors, gaskets, etc.I am done with Samsung. Customer service far from acknowledging problem or offering repair of a known defect simply indicated it is at my cost. I would like to know what is the number of reported cases in this and similar series. I have purchased several Samsung products but this fridge is by far the more costly one. This experience, first on the failure of the product then followed by Samsungs balking and not standing on quality principles and customer satisfaction, made me lose interest in the brand and this will be reflected on all of my future choices, be it computers, wireless, TV, tablets, etc. I am really disappointed and I feel I was sold a defective product, with a known defect and for which the company is not standing up.
Problems from the start and are with both ovens either separate or together in convection. After 4 visits and some part changes, there is no change. I did a few extensive digital and analog temperature tests to document that: 1) The initial at temperature beep is usually close but then over time, the temp drifts down to over 100 degrees F below where it should be. 2) When I restart the oven because its too cool, the oven display confirms the low temperature I measured. 3) As the oven restart, the convection fan or fans blow such hot air the food in the middle of the oven that the food is burnt to black while food not in the center or on different racks is not burnt. 4) The restart temperature once the beep sounds is accurate. 5) The convection fans are always blowing the hottest air straight out the middle. Not circulating the air around or reversing fan direction once and a while. So a blowtorch on food in the middle of the oven. From reading web forums, cnet in particular, seems like all of these Samsung ovens do pretty much the same thing. Seems like a programming problem in the firmware. Resolution is under review by Samsung. But do I even want another fix or a replacement? No. I want a refund and Ill buy a different brand.
We have a Samsung refrigerator model number rf265abwp. The refrigerator started making a loud noise and temperature is about 55degrees, spoils the food in it. We called the customer service number to find a repairman and none in our area. It ices up in the back of refrigerator and water is under the cool select pantry door. The refrigerator costs a lot of money and now we cant have safe food. Dont know how we can afford a new one. We have been dealing with this for over 3 years. Started a month before warranty ran out.
I have a Samsung Refrigerator side by side unit that I purchased from Lowes along with a four year extended service warranty. The Refrigerator unit stopped cooling the first week of August 2014. Via the Appliance Repair company sent by Lowes took a week to come and then had to order parts. The parts ordered from Samsung took two weeks to deliver and were the wrong parts. Today, a month later, the second set of parts ordered were also wrong and I was told that Samsung shipped the wrong parts once again. Samsung cant be contacted nor expedite the parts. The service provider indicated that Samsung has a poor parts department and is not responsive to the consumers need to quickly obtain parts to repair its products. The part needed is now on order once again and I am not optimistic that Samsung is capable of delivering the proper part for its product. I was told that Samsung has many victims experiencing this same issue and simply doesnt care about the consumer.
This is follow-up to reviews of 10/30/14 and 11/8/15: Five year warranty company insisted on repair again. This last repair was a total different fix from previous two fixes which were the same. This time the fix lasted about 4 1/2 months. On Friday last week I emptied approx one cup of water out of each veggie bin. Since the last fix the unit has been making more strange noises than ever before. Some of the noises are like a .22 cal. shot and loud enough to wake me up at night. I contacted the extended warranty company, report the problem again and again they insisted on repair. I told them NO MORE REPAIRS!!! I want it out of my home. They promised to have a manager call me on Monday or Tuesday 3/28 - 3/29/16. If they will not honor the terms of the agreement and refund my money, I will have no choice but to junk the Samsung unit and purchase another brand at my own expense!!!
We purchased this refrigerator in November 2015. Just after 2 years old, we noticed rusting along the edge of the ice maker. Samsung will do nothing to correct the problem, which is becoming a bigger and bigger eyesore by the day. An online search revealed this is a common problem with Samsung refrigerators. I do not recommend purchasing a Samsung refrigerator.
Purchased this Samsung Dishwasher DW80F600UTS in February 2015, several problems occurred during the first year. Three repair visits to the house toward the end of the first year of the warranty. Soap dispenser would not open, etc. Circuit board replaced. Samsung refused to replace this lemon. Now as we come to the end of the second year, problems once again. Error code for leakage. There is no leak, and dishwasher will not operate. It just continues to run the pump. Samsung will no longer fix, claiming it is now out of warranty. The dishwasher lasted less than two years. Unfortunately I used my Lowes credit card, I understand if I would have used VISA, MASTERCARD, etc. they may have automatically covered up to an additional year. I will never buy another Samsung dishwasher! This dishwasher is unreliable and Samsung customer service does not stand behind this product.
Warning! Do not waste your money purchasing this colossal pile of garbage (5.8 cu. ft. Slide-In Induction Chef Collection Range NE58H9970WS). It rarely bakes/cooks evenly and it will frequently and rapidly overheat causing your food to burn and ultimately fry the electrical panel. Upon calling Samsung the only assistance they were able to provide was how to spend more of my money on their faulty product. Samsung takes zero responsibility for what is clearly a common issue with these oven ranges. As it stands my options are to spend $$ on a new electrical panel and the cost incurred on its installation and the additional fix-it repair to stop the oven from constantly overheating, or throw the darn thing away. Im going with the latter of the two. I will never purchase anything from Samsung again. If I could give is NEGATIVE STARS I would.
We purchased a Samsung fridge model number RF217ACRS on September 19th 2010 from Sears outlet in Connecticut. We have three very small children: a 4-year old, 14-month old and a 2-month old. This past weekend my daughter was getting ice out of the freezer. My 14-month old son walked over to the side. She shut the freezer and my son let out this blood curdling scream. My husband scooped him up and there was blood everywhere. We realized something serious had happened. His finger tip had been cut off. We had to get his finger tip out of the side rail and rush him to the E.R. where he was then transported to the childrens hospital to reattach his finger tip. Unfortunately, his little finger was so small that they could not attach it. It was cut off clean at the joint above his knuckle. His little hand is maimed. It will never look normal. It was incredibly traumatizing for my husband and I. In a million years, we would never think a freezer drawer would pose as a danger in amputating a finger. This is beyond a faulty product. This is encompassing design flaw as well.
Bought the refrigerator (Samsung Model RS2556SH) on 10/15/2004 and, except for the ice maker and the fact that its a bit noisy, it has worked well ever since it was installed. While the ice maker does make ice, there is usually a mixture of crushed and cubed ice and the selection setting doesnt make much difference. Im writing the review because, after reading the reviews posted on this site, I felt I should offer a positive review and let readers know there is at least one person whos had a fairly good experience with a Samsung refrigerator.
I too am experiencing the same problems with my refrigerator as other consumers. I purchased this model in 2012 for $2000 and have had 3 problems so far. First, the water dispenser cracked when I tried getting a glass of water - took Sears 2 months to get the correct part from Samsung. Next, one of the shelves on the door cracked (I live alone so there are no reckless kids in the house). Now I am having my third issue with this 2-year-old refrigerator. Water leaks into the drawers and collects on the floor if I dont get to it right away. It starting making a noise like a train was coming through my kitchen - the dreaded fan problem others have complained about. Had to defrost mine twice already and was told by a representative that this is caused by a poor seal within the doors, and I should remove the seals and reinstall them. I was also told they would supply parts if a service call was made but I have to pay the labor! Isnt that the most expensive part of a repair? What a ripoff - these refrigerators should all be recalled. I think the next step calls for a class action suit against Samsung!
Our beautiful and expensive Samsung fridge has locked up several times, requiring a hard defrost. This time it actually burnt up the fan, requiring an emergency overnight purchase of a new fan. And were not sure the new fan will work - the serial numbers on our fan show that its no longer available, and Samsung doesnt have replacements. We had to go with a third party and hope their best guess is right. In the meantime our food is in coolers for two days, and the ** of it is that Im pretty sure that the best case scenario is that this fan will fit, and in a few months it will all freeze solid and lock up and burn the fan out again.Im ready to throw in the towel, but we spent a couple of grand on this (considerable for a not-wealthy family) and my husband wants to keep trying. It would be so bad but apparently this has been going for almost a decade. Im pissed off at Samsung for still putting out this shoddy product, as well as Lowes for continuing to see it. Theyll be hearing from me too.
Save yourself the hassle and do not buy this refrigerator!! I am having the same problems everyone else is. I bought this refrigerator in Nov 2015, then in Nov 2017, the fan on the back started to make noise and then it stops cooling. Then the ice maker stopped working. I have the extended warranty. Today will be my 8th time calling the extended warranty company Warrantech. They are USELESS!!!! Numerous parts have been replaced. All I get is the runaround. Warrentech on the phone tells me its up to the technician to decide if the fridge cannot be fixed. The tech tells me, All I do is what they tell me to do. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A SAMSUNG REFRIGERATOR AGAIN. AND BRANDSMART DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS! They make the sale and clean their hands. Very upset consumer!!!!
Purchased a Samsung fridge RF217ACBP in June 2011 and have the same complaint I am reading over and over. I have had 3 service calls for the same problem, water in the veggie/fruit bins, thick ice under the bins. This time the fan was very noisy and would consistently run. Called Xmas eve and the service guy came out on 12/29, the back panel was completely frozen, had to shut off for 24 hrs, and parts were ordered. When I called on Saturday they were nice, but no help. You need to have 4 repair calls in 1 year to even be considered for a new fridge. I have already told many people not to purchase a Samsung fridge or anything and will never get another one myself. I think they should stick to phones & tablets. Let’s hope what was fixed today will last, but once my master protection plan expires in 2016 (glad I have it) the fridge will be gone. Samsung needs to get their act together and maybe if enough people stop purchasing product they will get the message. NO MORE SAMSUNG APPLIANCES FOR ME!!!!!!
This fridge worked fine for about 2 years then something went haywire. It took Sears five trips to finally send a repair tech who was competent to properly diagnose the problem. The first tech diagnosed the (wrong) problem and charged me $357. That didnt fix it, so a new tech showed up and made a new diagnosis, and ordered another part. It was the wrong part, so another part had to be ordered. In the meantime, I dont have a working refrigerator so bought a 30-year-old $85 beater that does work. Luckily there was room to set it up in the dining area. Sears sent a third tech who said the initial diagnosis was wrong so ordered a new part -- but this tech then said he wouldnt plug the fridge back in because the outlet wasnt grounded. I called an electrician who charged me $75 to say yes it is grounded (which I was pretty sure was the case). Finally a tech showed up and properly diagnosed the problem, at the cost of $272. The tech said Sears would credit my credit card $85 for the difference between the right and wrong parts. Sears has not billed me for the $272 but they also have not refunded me the $85 for the overcharge. I have called them also asking to be reimbursed for these items: the $85 fridge I was forced to buy due to their technicians continued incompetence, $75 for the unneeded electrician service call, $100 that I felt obliged to offer the tenants living in the house to take off their rent because this entire process took two months to find a competent Sears service tech. I will never again buy an appliance from Sears and sure as heck wont call them to service this fridge the next time it has a problem (and Im keeping the $85 beater in the garage just in case).
How hard could it be to get a repairman for a refrigerator bought less than two days earlier. Ice maker would leak even with water shut off and ice maker turned off. Pacific Sales had said they had not had a proper working refrigerator of Samsung in three months. Is there a recall for their refrigerators?
Two year old French door Samsung. Purchased warranty. Ice has always been frosty, half crushed, never a normal ice cube. One repairman said it is because the ice is too cold! He said turn it off every night, back on in the morning! One repairman said the year mine was made, they all make terrible ice. Changed filter and it completely flooded the kitchen and down into the freezer. Why should we have to pay over a hundred dollars a year for filters? I never changed a filter in a fridge before. We do not drink the water from the door. Samsung should recall these machines and replace them!!
We have a Samsung french door fridge with a freezer at the bottom. Every few months we have to get a hammer and screw driver to remove the ice build up in the freezer compartment. A total piece of junk.
I purchased the Samsung RF217ACBP refrigerator two years ago from Sears. Slowly over time the ice maker is making less and less ice (a few ice wedges per day). Over the last two months, we have been getting water collecting in the bottom of the crisper drawers every day. Changed humidity settings on the crisper drawers and varied the temp setting of the refrigerator to no avail. Refrigerator is out of warranty so Im not willing to spend large sums of money to have service repair of the unit. From what I am reading, this may not even result in a permanent fix of the problems. Will empty the unit tomorrow and try the troubleshooting ideas I found online. I wouldnt recommend this refrigerator to anyone.
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator in November 2013. In the last 6 months water is accumulating in my produce drawers. I thought a hose was not connected correctly. Sad to say that was not the case. We spent 1200.00 on this fridge and after reading that others are having the same issues something needs to be done. CLASS ACTION SUIT. (Model # RF217ACRS).
RF266ABRSXAA French Door Refrigerator - We paid good money for what we thought was a high-end appliance. The refrigerator quit cooling and iced up. We called Samsung and were told since it was out of warranty, to have a local service tech take care of it. $350 and two weeks waiting on parts, it still has the same problem. Now they say its the computer and control panel... $450 to fix and no guarantee that will take care of it. Samsung has climbed to the top of my Do Not Buy list!
Buyer beware!! We bought our Samsung refrigerator less than two years ago. Ice maker freezes up. Does not work!! However the back plate DOES freeze up and makes the fan make a horrible grinding sound, and somehow our food keeps spoiling! Samsung is no help at all, and very rude, save your money and a headache. Also check out ** many more unhappy people.
I purchased two Samsung dishwashers four years ago with deepest regrets. The dishwashers have been repaired several times. Ive spent over $600.00 this year repairing the dishwashers. Now one of the dishwasher is broken again. My wife, spoke to a Samsung Rep today, December 27th 2016 and was informed Samsung policy doesnt repair dishwashers three years or older.
No issues with this brand. Would definitely consider buying again. Cant go wrong with Samsung. I had other brands in the past but none lasted as long as my Samsung microwave. When I end up replacing it, it might be because I was just want a newer model rather than it no longer working.
Weve been in this house since November 1998. Our previous Kenmore was working fine when we decided to remodel with all-stainless steel kitchen appliances. This evening (10/20/2013), as we were preparing dinner, we were melting butter. The first time, the time wasnt set long enough. When we attempted to continue melting the butter, the SE error code appeared. Nothing I did would return the unit to normal. This is ridiculous to pay a premium for a so-called top-of-the-line appliance and it lasts approximately two years.Just this past week, we had to have out Samsung dishwasher serviced because debris had jammed the impeller preventing the wash pump from operating. I was told by the repair tech that the GE Pot Scrubber (that was also working fine) would have ground discharged the debris but dishes have to be completely pre-rinsed of all food debris prior to being loaded into a Samsung dishwasher to prevent eventual clogging of the impeller. I wont get into the ridiculous cost of 400-gallon water filters for Samsung refrigerators.
For the FOURTH time this Samsung Dishwasher lit its code lights and refused to function. We have had warranty workers come out three times before (and done dishes by hand for over a week each time). The failed part is one that was previously replaced. Now out of warranty, it is into the trash with the LAST SAMSUNG PRODUCT I WILL EVER BUY.
Bought a Samsung slide in stainless oven/range. After 2 months the glass top cracked. Had to argue with them to the point I contacted a VP and they replaced it. After that, about 6 months one of the 2 large burners would come on and stay on high regardless of the position of the controller. After two almost fires the burner quit and now doesn’t work. One of the small burners comes on low and stays there. Samsung wants nothing to do with me or the stove. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again.
DO NOT BUY Samsung French Door fridges! I have almost $3000 invested in a fridge that gave little, annoying problems at first, but as soon as the VERY SHORT warranty was up, the ice maker problems got worse and worse... Dripping water out of the ice maker flapper door, slushy ice cubes, ice dams in the ice maker itself, taking 1 minute or so to drop out 3-5 ice cubes, odd noises, not making ice at all... You name it.I tried to get a repairman, but no one returned my calls--then I discovered from several local sellers of the Samsung French door fridges, that there are so many problems with them, that repairmen dont want to repair them at all--knowing they will never solve their clients problems. The repairmen might take the call IF the unit is still on warranty, simply because they know theyll get more and more repair calls--all paid by Samsung. Once the warranty is gone, they dont want to deal with Samsung units.Consider this: I have a new millennium fridge and I make ice the way my Mom did in the 1950s--with ice cube trays! I think these units should be recalled--these are major expenses for a family--just like buying a car that is unsafe or poorly designed--or is an outright Lemon. Samsungs reply to me was a boilerplate letter with links pasted in to their WELL KNOWN repair bulletins... Each one I had already known about and tried! Then they linked to how to get a repair ticket started, but then repeated their warranty rules. Samsung customer satisfaction? Rate that at ZERO. If you know anyone considering one of these Samsung units, steer them away--- SHARE this post. PLEASE SHARE!
RF267ABRS - Problems from the get-go. Ice in fridge under slide-out drawer, ice maker with loud periodic click, water on floor (and we have hardwood floors!), fridge and freezer not keeping safe temperatures. We replaced the seals with supposed Samsung seals at a cost of nearly $400. Did not fix the issue. Now causing marital issue coz I dont want a fride that doesnt keep foods at a safe temperature! If there is a class action suit, Ive not been notified. We bought this 7 or 8 years ago, has never worked right and still people with more recent purchases are having the same problems!!! Wow. Shame on Samsung.
HhGregg did not stand behind this sorry refrigerator. The 1st time cost 220 to replace 2 years ago. It came and it was a bad. Sent it back. The ice maker is defective. Everyone cant be wrong or trying to cheat them. They cheated us. Louies Appliance Repair in Bham Al is a good company with a man named Vann taking Louies business on the side. I truly was shocked a thief not fixing his saving me so called money. Should have known when I asked for a receipt and he said they would mail it to me. For 220. Vann snapped the computer ice maker and did not wait even long enough to see if ice maker worked. It did not.Plus Vann said he would fix my ice maker on my Whirlpool. Supposedly wrote down info. He has never returned to put in the new ice maker I bought on the Samsung and never came on Whirlpool. Even told him to order parts. He vanished and I did not turn him in. I waited for receipt of my payment. Never came. Wake up Louies. That Vann guy is ruining your good recommendation I was given by one of your customers. Obviously they had an honest employee of yours to service their appliance. Samsung you suck. Worst product I ever bought. That is why I had ask to fix a 10 year old Whirlpool. From getting class action lawsuit with every one of you that reviewed this store.
Bought a Samsung refrigerator in 2016 and 2 years in it started having water issues under the crisper drawers and the coils kept freezing up every 2 weeks. Got rid of it and bought a new refrigerator and then found out there is a class action suit against it.
I have purchase three Samsung appliance less than four years ago from Brault and Martineau in Gatineau Quebec, the stove (Model FE-R400SWS) was recently service because I have notice that the top of the door was rusting and had yellow burn marks. The hinges and door seal were replace under warranty job was done by Cosmo-Tech. The extended service contract was purchase from Brault and Martineau under Comerco Service Inc. in Laval Quebec. Comerco refused to replace the damage door because it was cosmetic and not covered under warranty. Brault and Martineau refuses to help because it is a warranty matter. I have contacted Samsung technical service department and they also refuse to take responsibility for the damage door. A new door part number DG94-00223E would cost $350.50. Unfortunately these are the facts and I will let you make your own decision. Thank for your time.
This refrigerator was the most expensive in the store, but I thought it would be the best and it is the absolute worst. For $3,500, you would think you would not have to defrost the area of the ice maker. It works like the cheapest brand in the store. It doesnt give you ice cubes, just pieces of ice that go flying everywhere. Ice gets built up and clogs the ice maker and you have to take an ice pick to remove it or it wont make any ice. I absolutely hate it and Im stuck with it for a good long time.
I bought the Samsung French door, stainless steel refrigerator 2 years ago. It makes really loud noise and the ice machine ices over and we have to scrape ice dams weekly to get some ice. It doesnt deserve 1 star.
Bought a Samsung refrigerator in May from Home Depot. They were on sale and was what we needed to fit the area we had. Four months into it, my wife comes to me saying its not cold, all of the frozen food was thawed and its a mess. After throwing everything out, I called Samsung repair. Talked to someone in India who read from a script. She directed me to some tests I should do first. I did them, didnt work. Called again, more tests. All I want is my fridge fixed. Its under warranty. Whats the problem? Its that they are told not to send anyone and that the consumer should be satisfied spending $1,796.43 for a fridge that worked 4 months. Tomorrow, I am prepared to start the fight. Class action please.
Follow up; my frustrating experience with all of our Samsung appliances. Stove Model NE58F97. Fridge Model RF267. Washer WF 328 and Dryer DV 328. Stove has a previous review in Feb. The amount of issues with this stove warrants action by consumers. Doesnt cook! Burns, dries out, undercooks food and anything with fat under high heat will be sucked through the convection fan and turn into a smoking mess. Will not broil anything, try and broil a steak, youll be sorry. The only way you are going to bake a potato is to place it directly on the lower stove element and turn it once. Thats how bad the cooking is. This stove is all flash with zero engineering or consumer testing. The glass top ($); well seems everyone is having problems with the top. Too fragile period! I will be replacing my top after a 1 ounce salt shaker nicked the edge. Looked like an innocent looking edge chip but the first time the large burner was turned on it shattered the top. Design flaw or purpose built? You be the judge, looks suspect to me. Wonder how many glass tops were made? The shelving is horrible, we had an incident in previous review where the locking sliding shelf would lock into place randomly. Looked locked in but wasnt. Rest of shelving just falls to bottom with any weight. Really bad on lower half of stove. Dangerous! Burns! Damaged ovenware! Really! Burners are all over the place with heat regulation. Zero simmering capabilities, goes from no heat to blast furnace. Ruined many high quality stainless pans and Revere Ware to the point they are unusable (warped). Way too hot on high settings. Multi burner has multiple control issues. I do not bake cake goods but I can just imagine the problems with that because it can barely cook a pizza. Warming drawer is worthless (low setting too hot) and makes loud banging noises from heat expansion. Do not open this stove without turning your head away, the steam that shoots out of the front of this stove is dangerous. Cooling fan was dead quiet now has annoying high pitch. So it will not cook, its dangerous, will destroy your property and you will need a new top ($500) around every two years if you are lucky. This is my personal experience. Please if anyone has had a good one let us know! Fridge, well the fridge has performed fair but heres the list. Ice maker way under powered. Has been replaced once under warranty ($). Struggles to dispense or crush ice. Interior shelving horrible. Folding and sliding shelves have a mind of their own and continually cause items to fall out of fridge. Folding shelf was stiff so we tried to stay away from using it. Broke ($) at hinges 3rd time we used it. Front lowest edge of shelf is rounded without lip. Stuff slides off shelf onto floor. Fresh drawer broke the 2nd time ($) we cleaned it. Just hangs loose now. Freezer will occasionally go into steroid defrost mode and you will have an inch of frost on everything (normally a 16th of an inch). Washer does good job washing but screams horribly on any fill cycle. Sign they used cheap plastic on their water fill valves ($) and calcium buildup is slowly clogging it. Washer has the load leveling feature ($) which has gotten sloppier. Dryer does well but occasionally acts like the sensor ($) is going and will leave a damp load. I wont buy any of their products again. They got too big too fast and have turned into company that needs profits and have designed their appliances to be cash cows (that is what the dollar sign represents in this review) for their parts and repair business and affiliates. I purchased my stove through the internet from Goedekers in St. Louis, MO in 2014 and paid $1800. I will not bother with their customer service, they have to be overwhelmed and under corporate pressure to not honor their product from what I have read. Stay far away from their products and good luck finding anything of quality out there today. Our own fault we let this go on.
Broke down not even 2 years. Had to replace the pump. I researched and there are many complaints for the same reason. Spent a lot of money to replace parts. I would never again purchase Samsung appliances. Same problem with my Samsung stove.
Bought the refrigerator brand new. It worked great for about a year then one day it wouldnt keep items cold. Turn out the freezer was too full. It was a large capacity freezer that did not actually accommodate a large amount of food.
In November 2011, our family purchased a counter depth Samsung Refrigerator, Model #RSG257AARS. Shortly after purchasing the refrigerator, the exterior door above the ice maker had a small divot. Originally, it appeared like someone in our family dinged it with a hard object. However, over the next year, the problem continued, and both doors are covered in small divots from the door handles to the top of the refrigerator. This is definitely a manufacturing defect. According to the representative from Samsung, the warranty was only good for one year, and Samsung refuses to stand behind their product stating this is not a recall issue. This was a large investment for our family, and we are extremely disappointed that Samsung will not support its customers and products. We would like to share this experience so other consumers can make an educated choice before making their purchase.
Refrigerator Model # RF28HMEDBSR - have had many issues with water leaking, first on the left side, and then now also water coming out on the front side. I put rags around the bottom of the fridge so my family does not slip and fall as I have slipped already walking to the kitchen in the middle of the night. The water is coming out more and more, have to replace the rags every few hours to prevent accidents. I called Samsung for help and they emailed me a pdf file instructing me how to make sure the fridge is level. There was nothing wrong with it being level and its still leaking worse than ever. Called Samsung back and they said they can refer me to a company that can repair my fridge. Samsung only warranties the fridge for one year, after that I have to pay for labor and parts to repair this issue. I researched online and found that this is a common issue with other Samsung Refrigerators. Here is the link for the class action lawsuit filed against Samsung for selling their defective product. **. Repair company charges $100 for diagnostic. Then we wait for them to order the parts (Temp sensor, Assembly Cover Evap and Leakage Kit) which costs over $125 plus more labor charges for them to install it. And we are not sure this will even resolve the problem. Stay away from Samsung appliances. I also have a Samsung stove that all the knobs have broken off. Samsung will charge you over $50 per knob to replace them. Pieces of junk, faulty appliances, Samsung should not sell their defective products to consumers.
My DMR78AHS Samsung Dishwasher was purchased Feb 2011. It needed its first repair in March 2012 (one month after the warranty was up) to the tune of $158 due to the tabs breaking on the upper rack and getting down in the motor. Last Friday (Feb 2014) the exact same thing happened but this time the repairman said it was going to cost me $375 plus tax for new gaskets and pump plus labor. I said no way and he still charged me $109.15 for the service call, etc. I spoke with Samsung this morning and they put me through to SEVEN different people. The last one said I will hear the answer from upper management in 24 to 48 hours. I am disabled and on disability from work (60-years-old) and cannot afford all of this happening to me! I still was saving for the fridge and stove - forget that now!! This model should have been recalled! The net is FULL of people all having the same problem with the 5E error flash due to the tabs breaking off. I am so upset!!!!! :( Is there a class action suit for this problem in Canada?
Freezer is small and difficult to fit everything. (Bottom drawer style). Sometimes a little frost develops. But I like the look, it’s stainless and the shelves are glass. No problems after 4 years. No water or ice in door, did not want it.
I bought a Samsung Rs2530 Bbp refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2008. It made a lot of ice at first, and we never ran out. In less than a year, it stopped cooling and decreased ice output. I set up a service call, and they replaced something inside behind the icemaker. They told me I needed to have less stuff in the freezer for it to work right. They extended my warranty to three months, and said the icemaker would work. On Christmas Eve, it quit cooling completely; they couldn’t get anyone out until after New Year’s Day. That ruined all my food and our holiday. They then said I cancelled the service call the day I took off to meet with them, and that I had to reschedule. That meant two vacation days off work. They got it running, but it still didnt make much ice. Then the warranty was over. Back in June, the power went out and it quit cooling again. I had one light flashing on the front. I found Jonathan ** of ARC who said he could work on Samsung appliances, and could come the same day--unlike the people Samsung wanted me to use. However, a few hours later the refrigerator just started working, so I told Jonathan I would get him to fix the icemaker in a few weeks. The power went out again last Wednesday; it stopped cooling, and I got the same flashing light. I tried to research the problem online. I found out that either the unit could be reset (didnt work), or it could resolve itself (didnt happen the first day like last time). Also, it could either need a control board (found for $60-$70 dollars), or depending on which light was flashing it could indicate a faulty sensor. Since I didnt know which, I had to call Jonathan. I told him I needed to know what part to replace. He came in asking questions like he hadnt spoken to me like, “So what is this flashing light for?”, “It just isnt freezing?”, “Looks like its working...the lights come on when I opened it.” and “Let me check the compressor.” After digging in it for a little longer, he asked me about the flashing light AGAIN, and said it was the control board. He could fix it for $450.20! He said the spare part was $260 and that he could get it in about three days. He would apply the $89 he was charging for the service call to the bill, or that he could get me the same refrigerator new for about $2000 or used for $1000. Really? I paid less than $900 when I bought it new. I decided to take a loss on the $89, and get the control board since he gave me the part number. Guess what? It wasnt the control board. I replaced it; I tried all the resetting and still had the same problem. I left it in a few hours to see if it would start working. Nope. I took it back out hoping the parts store would take it back. They wouldnt. I stopped payment on Jonathans $89 check, since I was now out of $72 more because of his wrong information, and the food decaying in my refrigerator and freezer. He not only tried to overcharge me for 5 minutes of work, he also misdiagnosed the problem and knew less about it than I did. I decided to just get a used refrigerator over the weekend, but late Friday it just randomly started working again. Okay. I bought new food and cleaned it out. We had a thunderstorm today and lost power. You know the rest; flashing light, not cooling and no one can fix it unless it fixes itself. Samsung shouldnt make refrigerators as I see this or similar problems all over. Jonathan ** of ARC is not qualified to diagnose or make repairs, and will rip you off.
Doesnt even deserve ONE star!!! GARBAGE!!! I dont know how Samsung has not had a class action case filed against them after reading HUNDREDS of complaints about their dishwashers. Every reviewer has the same complaint about various models, UNBEARABLE, DISGUSTING ODOR!!... And SAMSUNG customer service does nothing!!! Oh, wait, they do offer suggestions on how to CLEAN their dishwashers with TANG!!! Yes, *** clean the disgusting odor in the brand new dishwasher with an orange flavored drink mix!!! *** WHAT??? The odor is unbearable and dishes are cleaner when I put them in the dishwasher than they are when I take them out!!! Shame on Samsung for this disgraceful product and lack of concern for their trusting consumers. They should have stuck to making televisions!!! NEVER make the mistake of purchasing a Samsung dishwasher.
Beware of this company... I purchased an expensive Samsung glass top slide in electric range model #NE58F9500SS/AA from Best Buy in Aug 2016. In Apr 2018 the left front inside burner stopped working and the oven quit working at the same time. This range, built by a 3rd rate country is a PIECE OF JUNK!
Purchased the NE59J7850WS Samsung dual flex electric oven. After less than 2.5 years, the oven is not working. It intermittently continues to heat, well past the set temperature, and well past 500F+. We have had servicing, but since the issue is intermittent, it didnt occur when he was here and he could only identify two things that could be going wrong (thermostat and control board), both which were replaced. Last Samsung product I will purchase, including phones which I have been purchasing for years for the whole family. Samsungs response -- I can definitely understand how you might be feeling and you have the right to express your thoughts about the product.
The first thing to go was the defrosting fan made from plastic too small to handle the big refrig French doors, that cost me $254.00. The next was the ice maker, another piece of plastic broke, another $254 to get that fixed. Now the refrig is building up ice again which means I will be defrosting my refrig with my hair dryer. I will not purchase a product made by Samsung again. One of the components went in the microwave, I only use it for defrosting and heating water, another wonderful product by Samsung. I understand from the repairman that many parts are being used in many refrigerators. I also own a stove made by Samsung. Im waiting for it to break. When that goes, Ill be buying a product American made.
Samsung refrigerator/freezer RFG298HDRS, 5 years old, was fine for the first 3 years. First noticed freezer drawer was becoming more difficult to pull open. While troubleshooting noticed Ice Buildup under drawer. Temporary resolution was achieved by reaching behind the pulled open drawer (drawer pulled wide open, but NOT removed) and using my fist to pound on the ice, broke it up and removed it by hand. This technique needs to be repeated every 2-3 months. I can tell when it needs to be de-iced by the sound of the drawer rubbing on the accumulated ice, which builds up between the bottom of the drawer and the bottom floor of the freezer compartment.Currently, my protocol is to: 1. Place a bath towel on the floor, tucked under the front of the refrigerator. 2. Open the drawer fully. 3. Place another towel over the freezer contents to keep them cold. 4. Wait about 5 minutes. 5. Reach in behind the drawer and pound on the ice with an open palm or a closed fist. The thicker ice at the back if the compartment will break up easiest. Swearing does not really speed up the De-Icing. 6. Hand brush the ice forward and out on the towel. 7. The ice toward the front might need a few more minutes to thaw and loosen.Total time to De-Ice is 10-15 minutes. My best guess is that the problem is a design flaw. Humid air enters the freezer every time the door is opened, collects as frost on the floor, and builds up as any refrigerator without a defrost system will have ice buildup. This guess only explains the Icing if the coolant tubing is under the floor and not under the back and sides. I am not happy with this issue, but this makes it just annoying.
I have had my Samsung 9187 for about 4 years and yesterday the thing just kept beeping and then finally displayed the dreaded SE code. After some quick googling, I found a site which offered a solution. I just finished it up and the microwave works again like new. So here it is: Over time, condensation will make two pieces of the ribbon cable stuck together, causing short circuit. The solution is to separate the pieces and put a piece of paper in between. First you need to access the control panel by unscrewing the top grill of the microwave. After removing the top grill, you will see a screw holding the control panel to the oven. Just unscrew that one and remove the control panel. You will then see the ribbon cable. Inspect whether it is folded and the two sides are stuck. If yes, just separate them and put a piece of paper in-between. Its really that simple, put the paper between the two sides of the ribbon found inside the control panel. Hope this helps.
Purchased fridge new in 2015. Beginning in October of 2018 we came home to find the freezer was not staying cool and all the items in the freezer had thawed. Contacted a local company to come out and look which was very hard since no company wants to work on Samsung appliances. They found it was a seal system failure and quoted me $1093.00 to fix the issue I paid the man $100 for the service call. The repairman looked in the manual and found it was under warranty. I contacted Samsung and scheduled service. I waited a week and never got a phone call back to schedule a repairman to come out and look. I called back and was told the request ticket had been dropped and I would have to start over.So I again had to wait 24-48 hours for a call back and email receipt showing proof of purchase and invoice from company stating it was the sealed system failure. I waited yet again for a return phone call and had to call them 72 hours later. They requested one of their warranty technicians needs to come out and diagnose the issue before they took liability and could schedule warranty repairs and I would be responsible to pay the $99 diagnosing fee. I told them I would not pay that again. I had already paid a company to diagnose. Finally after having to be hateful and argumentative they found a company to come out and do repairs. They called me and requested someone to be at the house a week later between the hours of 8am-5pm. I paid someone to be at my house since I had to work. The repairman called me that morning and said he would be at my home between 1-3pm. The person waited at my house and the repairman never showed. When I got home and found out no one had came I called Samsung and they contacted the company. The company said they had sent a repairman out but no one answered the door. Which was a lie. I requested them to send someone out again and was told in order to do that I had to start the entire process over and get a new ticket number. At 6:30 pm an appliance repairman showed up at my house and said he was there to look at my fridge I asked him if he had came earlier and he said no. He was ran behind. So that company lied. The man was very curious when my warranty was up and kept saying I only had 4 months left. He connected the freezer to a system and added Freon to it. He started packing up his equipment and said he was finished. I said, You didn’t fix the problem. It has to have a leak if the Freon leaked out previously. He had no answers and left. I contacted Samsung again and told them the issue, how their repair company only put a band-aid on an issue and never replaced the parts or fixed the problem. Again I had to go through all the hoops only to not get a phone call back. I called them today and was told the reason I was not getting a phone call back is because they do not have a repair company who works under their warranty that can replace a seal system in this fridge. That I would have to find a company willing to fix it, pay them myself and they would issue a refund for my expenses to get it repaired. I asked for that in writing and they refused. I also was told I would be getting a refund for all the food lost but have yet to hear about that either. Do not buy from Samsung. Horrible company. Horrible product.
Have called Samsung customer service several times in last 6 months. Have spoken with several representatives from the company. I have described the issue and all have had different fixes. One told me to reset controls, one told me to shut down ice maker, one told me it needed to be leveled, one told me they would send a service tech out. Refrigerator is 2 yrs old! The one it replaced was 20+ years old. Really think that Samsung should fix for free or give me option to buy another brand. Real piece of junk! Model RF220NCTABC/AA French Door type.
Bought this new Samsung Oven Range NE58F9500SS along with other new Samsung appliances and moved into our new home we built in March 2017. I cleaned the oven today for the first time (12/9/2017) and 2 hours into the cleaning process the display went blank and the oven shut off completely. I noticed a distinct horrible odor of melting plastic. Smoke started coming out of the control panel. The control panel melted from the heat. I have read other reviews on this same oven that have the same complaint as I have. I cannot believe Samsung has not recalled this product. My hope is that someone doesnt have to die before something is done. DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG.
Weve had a Samsung French Door fridge RF323TEDBSR/AA for almost 3 years (still relatively new). And on replacing the water filter, the filter port began to drip leak with or without the filter. Because it was out of the 1 year warranty, we had to pay $158 parts and $130 labor to replace the entire filter port. The repair guy said that it was because we used an aftermarket (HomeDepot) filter. But comparing the replacement and original, the parts were identical. I think this is just poor quality construction in the water filter port. I would definitely think twice before purchasing another Samsung fridge.
4-door stainless frig doors rusting - Purchased 5/12. Began noticing rust on lower doors within a few months which has since spread to all 4 doors. Requested service 9/14 after numerous calls to Samsung and Lowes with feedback that it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not addressed. Tech visited and confirmed rust on all doors. Cleaning product was approved stainless steel cleaner. 3 other stainless steel appliances in home have no rust (other brands). Purchased at Lowes online. Have been told by Lowes that Samsung doesnt warranty cosmetic issues. This is NOT a cosmetic issue but a moisture issue from inside the unit. Where there is moisture there is rust and potentially mold. For all we know the inside of the doors is covered with mold. Do not buy Samsung refrigerators... engineering/design issues without adequate product/service support!
Horrible. Spent thousands on the refrigerator and now I see filter light on and learn I need to spend $45 every 6 months to replace water filter. Also, microwave filter needs to be replaced every 6 months as well- only $11 for that. Why didnt the Lowes salesman tell me I would need to spend additional money every 6 months and replace these filters? Also, when I called customer service I needed to ask him to spell out what he was saying because I could not understand a word. Not sure which country I reached but it sure wasnt the US. I will not even go into the fact that I also bought a Samsung electric oven/cooktop and needed to replace the cooktop after 3 months because it cracked. Samsung products are horrible. I will never purchase another Samsung appliance again.
We purchased this $3,000 refrigerator, 4 months later ice maker broke, it was replaced. Over the last 2 years we had to have it repaired 8 times costing over $1200. It was deemed unrepairable by a certified Samsung tech and yet Samsung refuses to give any replacement or credit. Terrible product and customer service.
