The Amana gas range was installed new in late 2013. The stovetop flames do not have enough adjustment, either the flame is too high or too low, theres hardly any just right flame settings. We already had to replace the igniter for the oven. That detent position for the oven door where you can leave it cracked open a little and failed within a month or so. I would certainly never buy another one.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH AMANA AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM!!! I have owned Amana central air conditioning systems in a number of homes, and always thought they were of the highest quality. In fact, I installed a central system at our summer beach house, which operated reliably and without any problems whatsoever in a high salt-air, highly corrosive environment, and it served us well for more than a decade. As a result, when we were building our new house in 2009-10, I specified five Amana systems for our 7500 square foot home. WHAT A MISTAKE! This summer, we have learned that three of the five evaporator coils are leaking, and further learned that the HVAC subcontractor NEVER REGISTERED the warranty with Amana. Simple fix, right? Just call the Customer Service department and explain the problem. No... the Amana organization has totally ignored us, in what may be the poster child for horrible customer service.They have stonewalled us, and have not replied to phone calls and emails. Their local distributor has refused to give us the name of their local rep in an effort to find someone who cares about our problem. No help, no solution. I have to fix the problem and pay for what should have been warranted repairs out of my own pocket, because the cost of the service calls coupled of an electricity bill that has skyrocketed while trying to get help from Amana has me with no choice but to fix it myself. If you buy an Amana air conditioning system and need factory support, forget it. You are on your own, and they will not stand by their products!!!

It does its job. Its easy to clean the removable filter. Rarely does it leave any residue, scrubs the dishes well. It takes tabs or powder cleaners. Easy to use, has few buttons to use, good machine!

Seven year old expensive Amana refrigerator had extended service for five years now. Two calls in five years - total expense of $500. Service call a few weeks ago resulted in tech telling us no problem with freezer/fridge even though we experienced both were not cold. August 8, appliance not working at all, water all over the kitchen and everything in the freezer ruined. Call for appointment - because this is an emergency they will send someone out August 21. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have wasted $500 plus the expense of the appliance. Never will I do that again and would not recommend either the appliance and for sure no recommendation on the warranty. The customer service rep was very nice, ineffective but pleasant.

I purchased a brand new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (model NTW4516FW2) in July 2018 from Home Depot. The product has completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal usage in a small household of 2 people. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $500 which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of the expected lifespan of 12 years. A call to the company that owns Amana (Whirlpool) provided no reprieve such as a discount on a replacement purchase or credit towards other Whirlpool products.

Our old heat pump died and we needed a new one. I did a great deal of research and we chose this Amana model as the best value as it had a great price and great quality.

About a year ago, I purchased an Amana oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Granted, all three were on the economy end of the model spectrum. I have issues with all three. The oven door on after only 4 months started to bind opening and closing. Also, the plastic trim around the oven handle also is cracked and continues to get worse. I called Amana thinking I could get it repaired within the 1 yr. warranty. I was told that the oven door repair is not covered because it does not affect the functionality of the appliance. Really? I think the door has quite a bit to do with the functionality of an oven. Regarding the microwave, the door, also cracking off the plastic trim around the window part of the door. Thirdly, the dishwasher upper rack keeps falling off the track because end bracket on the left side often comes unsnapped. These design (or should I say misdesigned) elements of Amana products should not be occurring. Especially after only a few months of use. Oh, by the way, after my 1 yr. warranty expired a couple months ago, I received a card offering to extend my warranty. You have to be kidding! I have sold my home and I will not have to be living with these inferior Amana appliances for long. I will never purchase an Amana appliance ever again. I used to think made in America meant something.

New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fixed under warranty. 6 months later (still in warranty), it stops working, but only occasionally. Stupid me should have gotten it fixed again, but it wasnt that bad. When it broke for good, the flimsy 1-year warranty (really, people?) had just ended, though it was less than a year since the first problem. I called Amana - they refused to help. I decided this was just wrong, and called to complain. After 35 minutes on hold, I got an agent who was so rude I decided to complain about her. The problem was, she refused to even give her name! I submitted this entire story on the web-based customer service portal. Weeks went by and I received no response, except I did get a solicitation in the mail to buy an extended warranty! So, my miserable customer experience is viewed by Amana as a marketing opportunity! I have read many others say the same thing. It’s shocking how American customer service values have eroded. Finally, I got their social media person over Twitter. He looked into it and refused to help. I could tell it was because he has no power to deviate from their script. Amana has it baked into their corporate culture to treat customer misery as an opportunity to make money.

First and foremost DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA anything!!! I made that huge mistake when purchasing my oven and bottom freezer refrigerator in 2004. Compressor was dead within 5yrs of purchase. The stove was and is a nightmare!! Of course this stove is no longer made and good luck trying to find parts. This stove retail was approximately 1100.00 middle of the road price but for all the error codes it throws out, it makes one think how dumb was I to even THINK about buying this model or brand!!Replaced two oven sensors, temp regulators now door does not shut correctly therefore heat escapes from oven and get ready because when that happens the timer/clock control board melts!!! Really???!!! AMANA is blind to this and will ignore all of your complaints!!! You might as well just hold a match to your money when it comes to AMANA!! One will have difficulty finding parts for a discontinued model on anything but this is how AMANA conducts business!!! I totally understand with time all things need to be replaced and simply run its course. However, 4 to 5 yrs life expectancy is max on all AMANA anything! Just tell yourself AMANA is no longer being made and save yourself the aggravation.

We bought an Amana Top Loading Washer (NTW4605EW0) on July 22, 2016 to replace a front load Whirlpool Washer that had its control module go up. Big mistake! 9 months and 2 days later... what do you know same issue that we were having with the Whirlpool! The washer would not drain. Turned it off and unplugged it. Now it wont power back on and drain. I had to hand drain the washer as far as I could get it and pull all my soaking wet clothes out to finish hand washing them! I am beyond frustrated with all Whirlpool Corporations various holdings (Amana, Maytag, Whirlpool, and many more) washers. Never again will I buy any washer made by a single company owned by Whirlpool!

Purchased an Amana top loading washing machine in December 2018 from Home Depot. It worked well for about a year. Then after that the issues began. Stopped cleaning clothes completely, leaving them soaked and dirty. Began making horrible loud sounds constantly, it would get stuck on certain cycles and not complete others, it stopped agitating clothes all together. The control panel was completely out of whack by August 2020 and basically beyond repair (per more than one repairman). It stopped functioning altogether by December 2020, which is exactly 2 years after the original purchase date. So I was then forced to purchase yet another washing machine (not Amana). Amana washing machines are a total waste of money and they do not last!!! I regret purchasing one big time...I learned the hard way how poor quality they really are. Do not buy.

I purchased a washer March 2013 and November 2014 it wont even start. The plug and socket was checked and they are working. So now close to Christmas I have to purchase a new washer. This time it will definitely not be an Amana brand. I wish I had read the reviews from others before making this purchase.

This isnt a NEW model fridge. I purchased it back in 1991. Ive never had to repair it. It just keeps on running! Once, my daughter didnt close the door all the way, so the fridge ran constantly all night long and had quit running by the following morning. I unplugged it and let the motor cool down. When I restarted it, it ran like before and has been running since. It still looks good, not new, but presentable. Im holding off replacing it since Ive heard the newer fridges arent made to last. Its not as energy efficient as a new model, but, last I checked, its not an energy hog either.

When we had purchased our house almost 2 years ago there was a fairly new and barely used Amana range. I use it all the time and never had any issues at all, also like the idea that it is self cleaning even though I hadn't used that feature as of yet but plan on it very soon.

I have had several gas stoves, ovens and this one seems to work perfect for me it doesnt have a bunch of bells and whistles its a plain Jane and I love it. If youre wanting something to cook with that evenly Cooks this is what you would want to buy Amanda is a good Appliance Ive had whirlpools, Frigidaire, GE, LG, Samsung but this is really good for just plain cooking.

My elderly parents purchased a new clothes washer in January and now in May it has flooded their laundry room. Because it is under warranty their plumber said they had to call manufacturer. Amana said it would be 4 days before they could get anyone out and it is still leaking water and my mom uses a walker. Ive called emailed and have been on hold for more than 1/2 hour - no one cares.

The organization I represent purchased 224 Amana/Goodman PTAC units in 2013, we have had nothing but issue after issue with this product since installation. Blown fuses, wiring issues, incorrect fuse holders, etc... Now there is a product recall on 160 of the units, we submitted the application and Amana sent us the parts to perform the upgrade ourselves. When I called the phone number provided for the recall they tell me to contact Amana in regard to the labor. When I contact Amana they tell me apply online. I would not recommend purchasing any product from this organization.

We bought an Amana washer in February 2015. We bought the biggest headache ever. Right before the manufacturer warranty went out we had our first major issue, the washer would not drain and spin. They came out to fix that. Three months later no water would go in. They came out to fix that. A few months later it was back to no spin and drain. A few months later we had to call them back and the leveler was out. Now I am calling them back it is so loud you cant stand it. Do not purchase from Amana. It has never really washed the clothes. I have to hand wash baby clothes before wash or food residue is still on the clothes.

An Amana furnace and air conditioner were purchased in Dec 2013 after my 21 year old furnace died. The Amana furnace first broke down and stopped cycling Feb 2014. The air conditioner first broke down and blew warm air in June 2015. Since the first breakdowns the air conditioner broke again in June 2015, it was making a leaking sound. Air conditioner broke again in June 2016, blowing warm air. Furnace broke twice Jan 2017, no heat. Air conditioner broke again May 2017, blowing warm air. Furnace broke again Jan 2018. And lastly, the air conditioner broke again July 2019 and I am currently waiting for a new evaporator coil. Evaporator coils are not covered under warranty so nearly $800 out of pocket. Wish I had more time in Dec 2013 to research furnace and air conditioners but when it is 20 below zero outside all I wanted at the time was heat!

I just had to replace the controller board in my Amana French Door Refrigerator, which is just 2 1/2 years old. The cost was $300. I had a Kenmore before this that lasted over 20 years. Im extremely unhappy. I would never buy an Amana product again.

This one was in the house when we bought it and it works great. No need to replace what is working so I am not going to be buying a new one anytime soon. This one is over the oven and it is stainless steel and looks good where it is.

Purchased a stand up freezer in fall of 2019, manufactured date on back is June 2019! 4 months after the 1 year warranty date has passed, Ive already replaced the heater coil at a cost of 200.00. For the past 6 months Ive had to empty and defrost the coils at least 5 times! After replacing the coil (which was checked for continuity and failed), I still have issues! So who knows how many other parts are needed to fix the issue. Amana has basically said, Too bad, youre on your own, after condescendingly explaining how to care for my freezer!! Its only the second freezer Ive ever owned, the last one having served me well for more than 15 years, but that wasnt a garbage Amana product!!

Purchased a new Amana Washing Machine, top loader. Repair personnel just left. Oil was leaking from underneath the front. They said, Two to three weeks for new motor and other parts. I was told to continue to use it. My concern is that if there is no oil how can the motor work and the motor is the main part with additional parts. How can I continue to use it? This is a safety concern. If motor has to be replaced because the oil is gone, wouldnt it overheat causing a fire hazard, or further damage to the appliance?Updated on 09/25/2015: The repair technician just left, after a six week wait for six new parts including motor. Everything below the top. It had leaked oil onto the floor. No water damage. Just the motor and all its internal parts. This was a brand new product not a refurbished product, so I paid full price. After the ninth load of clothes this happened and less than ninety days I had go without using my washer. To my dislike I havent been offered a new product replacement nor reimbursed for my inconvenience. Im having Trust issues even right now on using my newly repaired new product. This is concerning to me. It is for this reason that I would have to rate this product a ZERO.

Amana Front Loading Washing machine Model NFW7200TW suddenly stopped filling. Received an error code of tE indicating an issue with the Thermistor. Began checking wiring and discovered several severed wires at the control panel. Contacted Amana Customer Service and was advised that they would send someone out but because the FL was no longer under warranty, I would be responsible for costs. I advised Amana rep that I was more concerned with a potential fire hazard and that was putting them on notice of the issue. The Rep basically said that they had no reports like this and that there were no recalls and nothing they would do. So anyone with this washing machine, beware!

I like it and it works fine so far. I wish it did not have a push button on it, instead just pull, as I worry the push button will break, they are prone to, as opposed to pull doors on microwaves. It seems to work well, was easy to install and overall we are pleased with it.

I purchased an Amana refrigerator with a bottom freezer four years ago. I have now found out it needs $250 worth of repairs because the computer board has gone out and it was not going into the defrost cycle. As a result the bottom freezer was frosted up and the refrigerator was not working properly. Yes the repairs are cheaper than a new refrigerator, but I am still disappointed. This was not a cheap unit. I have had Amana appliances in the past and was pleased with them which is why I purchased this refrigerator. The model number of my refrigerator is ABB1924WEW1 with a serial number of K11438301.

I had an Amana washer for 3 years and it broken down 4 times. I got a Sears warranty on it in June and its December now and its broken again. My clothes are locked in and I had the control panel replaced 3 times. I was told that this was a great washer, but I have been having a great problem with it. It broken down after buying it a month. I got it repaired 4 times and I think I will sell it because its not any good. Dont waste your money and time with this product. I feel I have been robbed by the company because of this defective product.

Our Amana refrigerator ART316TFDW serial # VS62254299 purchased in 2016 failed in late 2019. The cost of parts to replace the evaporator and compressor is C$816.13 + labour + tax. The original unit cost was about C$725 + tax. We contacted Amana Canada about this. They said that since we dont have an extended warranty, there is nothing that they are willing to do. They apparently arent bothered by the fact that their product did not even last four years. That is not a good product and that is not good service. We will be buying another fridge, but can you guess whether it will be from Amana/Whirlpool Corporation?

Purchased a new refrigerator that didnt work from day one. After visits from two different repairmen, we are now required to transport the fridge to the next town over so that the compressor can be replaced. After several months of dealing with their help line, I feel that it is ludicrous that we are still without a fridge and are required to arrange for this transportation ourselves. This is in a rental unit that we are unable to rent out because of no fridge. We will now be forced to purchase a new fridge because who knows how long this repair will take. I guarantee it will not say Amana or any related product name on it. GE is looking pretty good. As a side point, we have purchased at least 60 appliances from them in the last year and they still arent willing to go to do anything else for us. Cant imagine the average consumer getting any kind of relief from them.

We bought an Amana Refrigerator in May 2005. It is now 6 1/2 years old and began making noises recently It died last night and the repair will be about $800 or more. This fridge was working fine until recently. Over the past two years my parents and my wifes parents both bought this same model as they liked ours. Hopefully theirs wont die as well. We called a repairman who said that, that year (2005), there were problems with the compressors.From reading other complaints it seems that it is not limited to that year. From researching different refrigerators last night, it appears that the Amana, Maytag and Whirlpool are all exactly the same refrigerator with just a different nameplate on them. Whirlpool bought Maytag in 2006 and Maytag had already bought Amana prior to that. So much for Amish people in Iowa making a decent appliance. We are disappointed in Amana. We had my grandmothers refrigerator when I was in high school. It must have been 35 years old and ran fine.

I love my old Amana side by side, bought in 11/2001. But what I cant find in the new ones is the milk keeper with the door. That is the best part of the refrigerator. If I cant find that and after reading these reviews I will find a different brand.

I purchased an Amana Washer on 2/13/2015 from a dealer in appliances here in Oldsmar, FL. I bought this Washer and Dryer due to the fact these items were Made in America. The paint on inside of the top lid of the washer is chipping off, peeling off, etc. and some of these flakes of paint drop into the washer on my clothes and only will only get worse with time. I called Amana and since I did not like what the sales rep said I asked for a supervisor which stated to me that he could not help me to replace the top piece of the washer. He could only send me a bottle of touch up paint. This guy also needs to send me a large brush with a quart of paint! This washer is only a little over 3 years old and should not be peeling like it is. Not like a bunch of people use this washer as it is being used by 2 adults. No abuse or rough treatment on this appliance. Lousy paint job! Where was the inspector for the painting of this washer? Not doing his job most likely because if he had done a half-way decent inspection he would have noticed the bad paint job. The sample bottle would not cover the areas without paint. I cannot believe that this was made in America as some 3rd world country would do a much better paint job. Dryer is OK but washer a mess. I will never buy a Made in America washer or dryer again. The foreign appliances will be on my list to purchase from now on especially since these manufacturers in the US make these defective items and charge you many dollars for junk. Never will recommend Amana to anyone for anything as they do not stand behind their work.

I cant stress enough how disappointed and upset I am, not only with the brand new refrigerator (model A9RXNMSWS01) breaking after 16 months, but nonsense communication, attitude, and difficulties Amana customer service just displayed! Warning: Do not purchase the top freezer, 2-door, stainless steel Amana refrigerator. The compressor will die soon after 12 months. The contracted repair person mentioned this is not uncommon with this brand. So, after spending $866 on this junk, we had to shell out another $300 in repair costs.Then the repair failed to work! Two Amana compressors defective! No, we did not have the extended warranty but how often does a fridge die? Not after 1.4 years! Amana CS was awful, combative and couldnt communicate a clear sentence. These are lemons!

It has been over 2 months now that I have went without my washer. It isnt even a year old yet. First time I called Amana it was a runaround. The person I talked to was very rude, didnt even send over my information to IAM Appliance in Piqua, Ohio. So I had taken the day off work to wait for someone. When they didnt show, I called IAM and asked why no one showed. They said they didnt have any information that they were supposed to be out. So I called back to Amana and the guy I talked to was very rude and said, Looks like it wasnt sent over. So he told me I had to call another place, that he couldnt call them, I had to. So I called and no answer so I called back to Amana and they again was very rude. So finally they send my information over to IAM appliance. A week later, on Tuesday a tech came out. He looked at my washer after I had already explained what was wrong, it was the lid lock not locking, it would fill and that was it. So the next Tuesday, he came out and ordered a lid lock, the board, and another part all the parts worked but the lid lock. So here is to another week of waiting. Came out again that following Tuesday that lid lock didnt work. Each time he came out something didnt work. Then the board didnt work the new one he had replaced. This happened for over a month. So I called corporate. Talked to a lady last Monday. She said she would send me a new washer. Got my new washer today. They told me I was getting a Whirlpool but I go another Amana same model number. They took the old washer today and this washer doesnt work, it doesnt wash clothes. It fills the drum doesnt wash clothes or spin, and the lid lock works but when finished the clothes are dripping wet. So this is another lost. I will not recommended Amana or Whirlpool to anyone. Since they have been around for a while now I figured they would be a great appliance. Guess not. So now Im out of a washer and here goes to washing my clothes in the tub again!! Very unhappy!! DO NOT BUY AMANA.

Stay away from Amana. The cheap, plastic handle on my 2-year old Amana dryer broke off. I sent them an email asking them to replace it, as most reputable companies would happily do so for a customer. They took several days to respond and then asked me for the date of purchase. When I provided that date, they replied saying that they would not replace the part as the warranty had expired. They then directed me to their replacement parts webpage, where they were asking for $32.49 for a replacement part. Within 30 seconds, I found the same part being sold on Amazon for $4.99. So not only are they unhelpful, but they are trying to gouge the very customers who purchased their products in the first place. I will not be purchasing any Amana products in the future and highly recommend that you do the same.

After moving in to a new home and seeing a brand new stove installed, I was excited to get cooking. I noticed that the stove grates were bent from the middle (the grates are long and the front burner and back burner are connected on the same grate). I didnt think this would be an issue because maybe the pans/pots I use would be heavy enough to compress the grates down. I was wrong to think that and the pots/pans will slide when put on the grates because of how they are angled. I have spilled a full pan of oil (luckily not heated to a dangerous temp yet) when the pan was placed squarely in the middle of the burner and it just slid forward and off the stove top.Amana was called to try and get replacements for the brand new appliance but they told us that the bend in the grates is on purpose and they will not be fixing the danger their appliance puts us in. I now can only use the back burners (one of which is very small) or I run the risk of hurting myself with hot falling pots and pans. They are confident this is normal and are fine with the dangers. Do not buy from Amana as they will sell you a dangerous product.

Our new Amana furnace is so quiet and efficient! We love it. We aren't nervous to enter the long winter months. We know we will be warm and comfortable until spring.

I havent even had this Amana washer one year. It quit working. I guess when you buy a product that is lower priced than the rest you think itll be short lived, but 1 year! Doesnt start, nothing. Piece of crap. It never got the clothes as clean as other machines Ive had. Never again Amana! I bought it a Menards in Minnesota.

I have an Amana refrigerator that is less than 1 year old. It makes a very loud chattering noise. I have been trying to get it serviced since Jan 31. There is no certified service in Clatsop County. After 3 months of phone calls with Amana They told me to find my own. I finally called Sears and a tech came out. Now I have to pay all the costs and wait to be reimbursed. Horrible customer service.

Purchased a brand new PTAC for my apartment. Unit was professionally installed and vibrates so bad it rattles the grates inside the window the unit is mounted under. The unit is less the 30 days old and Amana claims I will have to pay for the diagnostics and labor to fix or replace the unit. Their claim is the unit cannot be returned after it is installed. The warranty is worthless if you get a defective unit, and you will be paying something to have it repaired when it breaks or if it even works correctly after installed.

We were very pleased with Swan - Zach and Josh went above and beyond every step of the way with explaining the installation process. We're excited with the Amana products and hope they live a long time with us (ha).

My Amana ABBB2222FEW refrigerator is five and a half years old. Great refrigerator, till this weekend when the compressor quit - it will cost over $700.00 to repair and I was informed that the repairman couldnt guarantee the board would not conk out so I opt out of fixing it. No help from the company, too bad, so sorry.

We purchased Amana Refrigerator model# ABB2222FEW on 8-15-06. We replaced control board when the refrigerator was only 2 yrs & 4 months old and it cost $216. Well guess what, it just went out again. The part cost me $111. My husband will try to replace it. If he cant, we will have to dish out another $100. This is ridiculous. Amana needs to step up and have a recall on this product. (See previous complaint on 12/21/09)

I have been using this dishwasher for about 2 months. My last 2 were the more expensive stainless steel tub type...they were 4x the price and lasted less than 3 yrs each, so we decided to go with a less expensive dishwasher. I am happy with the decision so far. The soap works just fine in this one, but in my last one I had to alter the soap and add borax...this cleans with the regular stuff quite well.

I have purchased several washers of this model over the last few years. Never again. I have had to have a service tech out to repair it five different times. They have replaced a coupler, transmission, motor, solenoid and issue of not emptying. I purchased the five year extended warranty because the one year warranty was up by about three months when the first one broke. So the repairman came out to fix it. It was going to cost me more than replacing it with a new one (that keeps breaking). I will never buy an Amana again.

6/4/2015 - The lid on my less-than-2-month-old Amana washer breaks, and I call customer service. The rep is extremely apologetic and tells me someone will be out on 6/9/2015 to fix it and that they will call the day prior to confirm. 6/8/2015 - Sadly, no call is ever received. 6/9/2015 - I call the service company to inquire as to whether anyone is coming to look at my washer. Their response was, Nope, we were given the wrong phone number by Amana, so when we couldnt reach you, we had to cancel. I then call Amana back, confirm that they do in fact have the wrong phone number, correct that issue (or so I thought) and try to get another appointment scheduled. After two hours of stubborn resistance, I manage to get an appointment scheduled for 6/10/2015.6/10/2015 - Repairman looks at my washer, and after five minutes, pinpoints the issue and tells me hes going to need to order a part. He then says that he should have no trouble getting the part by 6/12/2015. 6/12/2015 - The day comes and goes without incident. 6/15/2015 - I call the service repair company who tells me that the part is on back order and wont be available until at least 6/30/2015. Later, I call Amana yet again, correct my phone number for the second time (see, I was getting back to that) and try to see if theres another resolution. The customer service rep I am speaking with tells me, it is what it is, and that this is the best she can do. I ask to speak to her supervisor, who I am then transferred to, who tells me that he, in fact, cannot do anything to help expedite the process either, but that someone might be calling me in 3-5 business days to let me know about the part.At this point I ask, So youve made a defective product, incorrectly recorded my information at least twice, caused me to miss one service appointment due to negligence and have yet to accept any responsibility for the situation at hand... How is this an acceptable resolution? After a pause, he says,so yeah, in like three to five business days, someone might be calling you about that part... Dumbfounded, I hung up and rage-devoured a cheeseburger to help me cope with my lack of progress, ironically spilling ketchup on my pants in the process. I might be able to at least attempt to get the stain out in somewhere around 3-5 business days.

I purchased an Amana Side by Side refrigerator in November 2017 and the freezer quit working after 4 months. Service Technician came out to repair and said that the workmanship involved at the factory was awful and he had to replace coils/condensing unit. Needless to say the next day the refrigerator and the freezer quit working. Another service company came out a week later and said that the first company did very poor work and they were to blame for the new problem. Needless to say they had to take refrigerator to their shop to break it totally down to find out all that is wrong. Called Amana customer service to request a brand new refrigerator only to be told NO! Without a refrigerator for three weeks and counting! Is this acceptable? Ask Amana and they will say yes! NEVER BUY AN AMANA unless this is what you want. Thanks AMANA. I hope your business survives because with this type of service I know my company would not last very long and I do not think yours will either.

Machine is a disappointment. It does not fill all the way up with water. You must put on deep wash just to do a medium load. Also, you cannot open it to fix it when during the spin cycle it gets off balance. You must turn the machine off and start over again.

I purchased an Amana Side by Side (24.9 cubic inch) in March 2017... In Dec., I noticed 2 visible cracks on both sides of the shut where ice falls to be dispensed from the freezer to outside. Also the cheap plastic on shelves & drawers has cracked. My husband & I are both in our 60s & are not rough on our appliances. The refrigerator gets opened maybe 4 times a day. A repairman came out to look & stated we were under warranty, however WHIRLPOOL refuses to fix the inside of freezer door... said its cosmetic. NO, ITS NOT. Even the repairman said it was defective from the factory & will continue to only get worse. WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER THING FROM THEM.

MOD:NTW4605EW0 Type: 587-20 - This product is the worst I have ever used. My Husband and I are in our late 50 on a fixed income and recent stem cell survivor. We had to save for this for months to buy this washer. Now knowing it would not have been the top of the line, you still have a reasonable expectation that your laundry will be cleaned. Thats not the case with this washer. I have taken items out of the washer that never hit water, and still soiled. You cant make any adjustment to the water level, the agitator is very ineffective and sound as the whole thing is a strain to do a basic task. I have bought Amana in the past and had no regrets until now. That is unacceptable for misleading the public that this is a washer. It truly just an oversize hamper. If this sounds like I am not happy with this product. Then sorry to say YES I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT! When you pay $250-$300 you expect it to at the very least to clean your laundry!

I had my washer for barely over 2 years before it started to unbalance. Now less than 2.5 yes after purchase I have to replace it. According to the Amana repair representative for my area I needed a new balance ring and new suspension. He said the balance ring would cost over 200 dollars, but my research show the average cost being 40 dollars. However, with the price of labor the total repairs would be a minimum of 170 dollars on a machine that only cost 300. I realize this was a bargain appliance but we never overloaded it and it should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. The short life expectancy of modern appliances is ludicrous. I recommend avoiding this brand or buying the extended warranty. I just hope the dryer lasts.

After owning the Amana refrigerator for less than 7 years, the refrigerator is started to fail. Is that how long a new refrigerator should last?

Works exactly like an oven should. No problems so far. Has good features and we use it every single day. Easy to clean and easy to use. Doesnt take forever to heat up and maintains heat as it should. The stovetop is also easy to clean and heats up very quickly even though it is electric.

Really like my new Amana High-Efficiency Modulating Variable Speed Gas Furnace (97% efficient). With fan in "on" position, it quietly circulates the air from the basement and throughout the house. I noticed the air conditioner does not kick in as often and the temperature is more consistent. No comparison to the old mid-efficiency furnace that was replaced, Amana is much better made and will reduce our Natural Gas costs.

Purchased an Amana top loading washer and two days the door lock light was flashing and the unit was buzzing. The washer smelled like wires were overheating. 5 service appointments later the unit was replaced by Amana. Less than a week later the problem I had with the first unit is now happening with the New replaced model. Amana stated that they have no recalls or complaints on this model NTW4605EW0.

Best bang for your buck? We have had it for 6 months and so far have had no problems and is actually huge inside and fits a lot of dishes. I do recommend the drying agent. It does work wonders. Dishes are dry without water spots.

Bought $700.00 dollar stove in April. Got it in June so stove for cooking all this time without one. Now I get the darn thing and cant use the drawer on it. It does not slide at all so now I need storage.

When my Amana fridge was delivered I noticed a lot of scratches on one side and a dent on the other. I immediately contacted my salesmen and sent him pictures of damages. Waited weeks for response and was offered a small credit. They were not willing to replace the fridge. I contacted Amanas customer service and got no satisfaction at all. I recently bought a new home where the appliances were part of the package. They were all brand new so I figured that all was well. I bought liquid fabric softener to put in my rinse cycle, but I ALWAYS kept missing that cycle. I finally sat upstairs next to my laundry room and waited and listened. My washer NEVER fills up with water for the rinse cycle. My clothes have been having soap residue on them for months! This is BS! Plus, the lid always locks so that you can NEVER see how the machine actually washes your clothes. After realizing that my washer never rinsed my clothes I got online to see what other complaints I could read about this company and Im not the only person who said that their clothes never rinse. What sense does this make??? A washer that doesnt rinse??? This company should be ashamed of themselves. Now every time I wash my clothes I have to go upstairs and do a separate rinse cycle. How stupid is that?

I used to work for Raytheon and have used Amana products for years with great success... Last Amana fridge was bought in 1995... had to replace this year so I now have a new Amana fridge and I only use Amana microwaves. Same good quality.

Last February 2006, I purchased an Amana Top Refrigerator Bottom Freezer. For 5 years, this is the third time I replace its Control Board. And today (9/2011), I was told that I need my THIRD Control Board ($300) replace again. I got no help from my local retailer or Amana. I will never buy this junk again. For 5 years, this refrigerator cost me $1000 new Control Boards and $900 in repairs!

From day one, it hasnt been a good purchase. Barely dries anything, you have to slam the dryer door to get it to close. Wrote Amana and even 3 days after purchase, would not guarantee a free service call to fix the door problem. My mistake was not returning the piece of crap to Home Depot and buying another brand.

The lint trap was not working. It’s the water levels were not filling up. Another hot water is this going into the machine and don’t know why. It’s only four months old and I think our guarantee is over.

I have had this microwave for about 32 years. It is still working. Doesn't look too good because of age. Wish I could find another one that would give this type of service.

I hate all the bells & whistles of high-priced washers & dryers....they usually don't really do much but cause headaches. We opted for this fairly basic dryer & it works perfectly so far! It has a bit more room in it than our last one so the clothes come out virtually wrinkle-free! I would recommend it highly....unless you just NEED to spend more $$

Two Amana heat pumps here; one has had ongoing problems. When the dealer ordered a replacement part (circuit board), the wrong version was shipped from the warehouse. Trying to get this problem solved ASAP, I contacted Amana via their FB page and asked them to expedite the shipment of the new board. They told me that they dont provide CS for this product, that I should contact the actual manufacturer, Goodman. I was already aware the Goodman was the manufacturer, but have never before heard of a company selling a product under their logo that does not provide at least front-line customer support for it. What possible meaning can the Amana brand have in this case, and why on earth would I ever buy another product from them?

I was coming down the stairs to get my son a bottle at 6:00 AM and heard a strange noise. As I walked into the living room, it was filled with a foul smelling smoke. I yelled and woke up my father who came running down the stairs. My father unplugged the fridge from the wall and put the fire out. Our slate flooring is burnt, and my son and I had mild smoke inhalation.It has been over a month and we are waiting for parts to cover the repair or they will give us $200 for a new fridge. Our fridge was older but, just like most everyone else, it was the compressor that failed. I think Amana needs to recall their refrigerators and come up with a new design.

In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. As if I would be fool enough to buy another product from a company who discontinues a small part that is vital to the operation of one of their major appliances in order to force a customer to replace that appliance. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. I bought this microwave for my tenants to replace one that went bad... The install was fast and easy using the template which was included... From unwrapping to using the microwave was 30 minutes.. There are plenty of functions programmed for different foods and snacks... The the price was great...

It last 1 year before the door that automatically latches the door on top broke and on the front of the control panel its flashing and says door latch. Its going to cost me 90.00 for a new lock. I purchased a rental house that had a 16-year-old refrigerator. My brother was upgrading his appliances to stainless steel, so he offered me his 8-year-old Amana refrigerator. I thought it would be a good idea to reduce the risk of having to replace an old unit. Im now on my third major repair in less than two years. Im very disappointed with the quality of the Amana appliance.

Installed Amana in new home in 2013 and have had to replace air handler twice, so I am on my third in six years. Warranty fortunately covered leak in coil twice, but the labor has cost me thousands of dollars. Since the handler is obviously a defect by Amana- I wrote a nice letter asking for some relief on the labor explaining the situation. ???? Amana Whirlpool Whirlpool Customer Care Center. The whole 4 MONTH experience to have our fridge replaced has been a joke. We have had 4 service technicians come out in order to decide we need the whole refrigerator replaced. Then it couldnt be shipped out for a whole month. Now it was supposed to be delivered today June 5th 2020 between 1:30-5:30pm. Only to be told that J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Couldnt deliver it when they scheduled to because the driver ran out of hours, not blaming the driver. I blame the company for putting too many on the load so it couldnt be delivered on a 3 day ahead scheduled appointment.It absolutely should not take 4 freaking months to get a refrigerator much less during COVID-19 putting my family in more Danger to have to go to the store more for our needs for a family of 6. Not to mention both my husband and daugthers medications have to be kept cold. THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH A WARRANTY ISSUE. I have enjoyed the washer and dryer for the 8 years I have had them. The part that I am very unhappy with is the cost of the parts to fix the problems I have had; heating element that cheapest was one appliance store for $75 (rest online and other store was over $100), worked two times drying clothes then stopped working with going around. Told probably the belt, but again no belts around and had to be ordered, and also told from all appliance stores that old being $56 is higher than other dryers. The belt was not needed so not opened so will be seeing if I can have my money back for it. Told its either the door switch, that would be $25.99, or the board that would cost $200.80. Again, I enjoyed the way it was, but the cost to fix the problems is higher than buying a new one. Very unhappy to spend so much time and so much money along with being told having to order parts shows it is happening quite a lot from owners; annoying and unhappy.

Three of my Amana appliances are not working. The Amana washer is 4.5 years old, the Amana oven and dishwasher are 6 years old. I understand that appliances break down but three so soon and at the same time????? Shame on Amana. Do not buy Amana products! I just paid $170 for a diagnostic evaluation to tell me that the repairs will cost me over $750. The issues I have with all three are common with other customer issues, yet the company does not issue recalls. I bought the stackable washer & dryer. I bought a new Amana washer in Feb 2014 at ABC warehouse. I had call the service tech out to my house 3 times. The last time I call bbb. ABC replace it with another Amana - I receive that one in 10/14. On 12/7/14 the machine stop washing.

We had a brand new house built two years ago. The builder installed Amana appliances, except the fridge and washer and dryer, which we furnished. Our dishwasher gave out after only a year and a half. It was more effective to buy a new one than to have the part replaced. 6 months later, our oven just gave out as well. Itll cost half the price to have someone to come look at it as it will to replace it, and if nothing is wrong were out $200 off the bat. Horrible customer service and horrible product integrity, what an awful company!

Right after the manufacturer’s warranty of exactly 2 years expired, our Amana Refrigerator broke before the end of the following year. Oh, did I mention we bought it brand new from the showroom floor at Home Depot in Hilo, Hawaii? Now it runs all the time on the freezer side and the refrigerator side does not get cold at all. Ice forms in the rectangle box that is located inside the refrigerator section and no cold air from the “run always” freezer-side comes into the refrigerator. That poor design is how it is supposed to keep your refrigerated food cold. Poor design. What isnt, these days? So here we are, spent $800 for this thing and it has lasted 2 years. Now I have to spend $300 to get it fixed. Meanwhile, until we can just come up with an extra $300 to do that, we have to rent a refrigerator - another $68 a month. Now, isnt this fun? On top of that, it was evidently not working properly for about 2 months until one day I began vomiting from bad food. Not fun either. So what is a consumer to do? We are at the mercy of cheaply made and poorly designed shoddy craftsmanship and materials made by companies that just dont give a you know what anymore. They only want to make more profits out of greed and screw the consumer. They know you need these products so they can literally get away with doing whatever they want. I wonder if any really great person is going to once again build the real McCoy of Wash Machines and Refrigerators that are built to last and do! It can be done, it is just not being done and no one seems to care. Have we become so apathetic to accept this in our lives that we are the sheep they speak of? There are no choices. Oh, you think because something is stainless steel and looks pretty and shiny it is good quality? Stainless steel is only on the outside! Underneath, it still rusts! We live by the ocean in Hawaii where things are not hermetically sealed like on the mainland where houses are all closed up and furnaces run all day and night. And the Stainless steel here still rusts and they tell you right away that rust is not included in any warranty! Oh, let’s see who is Amana made by? Whirlpool I think and I am not surprised.Remember in the old days when all the washers at laundry mats were Whirlpools and they worked? Well, dont buy one these days. For people who say, Well, just buy the warranties they sell when you buy the item.” Yeah, and so you really are spending an additional $300 for the product, which will then last 3 more years from the day you bought it. Who is getting screwed here? - The customer either way. Remember when you bought an appliance and had it the whole time you lived in your house? Remember the Maytag repairman? And did you know your icemaker is not included in your warranty? Nope, you just have to pay for that - an additional $300-$400. Is everyone just going to roll over and accept buying a major appliance for $800 and having it last 2 years?

Amana Refrigerator, Not Good After 6 Years: We purchased an Amana bottom freezer refrigerator, model#ABB2227DES, serial#10253964EP at Sears approximately 6 years ago. We have had numerous issues with the refrigerator starting just after the 12-month warranty ran out. At one point, I paid $300 for an extended warranty. I had to have more repairs on it and was told by several technicians that the compressor would be going and it won’t be worth paying for the repair (roughly 50% of the $1300 that we paid for the fridge). At this point, including the purchase and repairs of the refrigerator, we are over the $2000 mark. Again, the fridge just died and we have been told that the compressor is gone and it would not be worth it to fix unless Whirlpool agrees to pay the repairs. I would like Whirlpool to pay for the repairs of this refrigerator or provide a comparable refrigerator, or I will contact my own attorney in regard to this.

Durable. Reliable. Gas with ignition burners. Purchased 1997 and still working. Has oven cleaning function which makes for easy cleaning. Amana is reasonable priced lower than many other ranges.

I am writing regarding my Amana microwave AMCS101AAS purchased 4 years ago. I am really disappointed with it. The inner paint on the walls and under the plate has basically all peeled off. Now it is starting to rust around the glass in the door. It is used by a retired couple. So, it is not heavily used. But I feel the paint should not be letting go.

We purchased a new home in 2013 and had Amana appliances put in home. We figured since Amana had been around so many years that they would be a great choice! WRONG! The washer is a nightmare! It will not spin clothes on any cycle without going into a huge across the floor thumping dance! It doesn’t matter what size load either! It simply will not spin without going unbalanced. It slams so hard it has scratched up the dryer sitting beside it! NEVER will I purchase another Amana product! From the sound of these comments, it will do no good to contact the company! And this thing has been doing this straight out of the box!! Dont buy Amana!!! Very disappointed from Cottonwood, Alabama!

We bought the most recommended fridge (Consumer Reports) the Amana Model AFF2534FEW 1 (or maybe 11... the Amana people cant quite figure out what the model number is... check it out). After very little use the fridge stopped working. Diagnosis... bad thermostat... blocking the coils. Thermostat replaced. A year later (and more ruined food) same problem... Again the thermostat was replaced. And guess what... it happened again. Third time... dont even bother asking the Amana group for help. They cannot even figure out the correct model number and they are not interested in helping in any way. This product and the company are not worthy of your hard earned money. I will NEVER purchase Amana again.

Do not buy Amana!! Purchased a washer and dryer on 5/24/16. Washer will not drain but is full of water. They want me to sit at home on a Thursday (NEXT WEEK), today is Monday, until a repairman shows up. No idea when. Just wants me to wait. Informed them I will have the washer, water supply and a cord to plug into outside because they arent entering my house. I am an independent driver for people needing rides to Dr, Grocery and so on. I did inform them I could wait but a $20.00 an hour fee will be charged. Ill let you know what happens if I can.

Bought an electric dryer, model #NED4655EW on 11/22/18. It was delivered on 11/27/18. Used it on 11/28/18. Went to use it on 12/4/18 and it wouldnt dry. Called company and they stated it was past the 48 hr window for return and they would have to send a technician out to service it. I stated to them that I had used it only once and it should fall under the lemon law. Will never purchase another Amana product. Brand new but already needing service after one week. So everyone please know that Amana sells junk!!!

Our fridge is 20 years old and we encountered our first issue a few months ago. There is a detailed description of problems and solutions on the internet and my husband was able to fix the problem for less than $40.

I purchased a refrigerator in 2008, Amana. In 2013 the refrigerator failed and stopped working. I called and of course the warranty is no longer valid. In order to fix the 5 year old refrigerator I had to purchase another warranty for 347.00. So here we are 2 years later and again the refrigerator is not working, so I called them and they cant help me - only if I buy another warranty for now 414.00. These people are scam artist and I think we all should start a class action suit against Amana. They are crooks.

Just a complaint about washers. Im short and getting older. Top loader drums are too deep. I have to stand on my tiptoes to reach the bottom of the drum. I know of others my height that say the same. If I stand on a stool, there is a chance it could tip especially when throwing the clothes into the dryer-twisting, leaning. Does anyone make a machine that isnt so deep?Virge **

I have wanted a 2-stage HP for years so when our 22yo 10SEER AC was nearing EOL, we jumped at the opportunity for a high-performance unit. My expectations have been exceeded: We love the dehumidification feature, the ECM air handler is able to reach the furthest corners of our house, I have to go outside to check if the condenser is running sometimes even though the unit is right outside our kitchen window, and the heat pump uses ~1kW less electricity while in the 2nd stage than our old unit. ComfortNet/Bridge took some learning but if you have patience and like to read then you'll be tuning your system in no time. Honestly, I ended up going back to many of the defaults because the whole setup is already quite efficient. We recently had a few <50F mornings so I have also been able to test the heat in action and am now looking forward to a cold winter to really stretch the system's legs!

I purchased a new Amana stove for a rental property in GA at the beginning of Sept. It has NEVER worked. When I called they said they could only speak to the tenant, when she called it was past the 48 hours of delivery and since I didn’t get the warranty they would have someone come out and repair it... ok fine. The company was a no-show and no call twice. Then I get a letter from the GA housing authority that I am required to have a working stove within two days. I was forced to purchase a second stove for the renting family. I called and called Amana to pick up the useless stove and credit my account. They were extremely rude on the phone and refused to take it back. Not when I call the new repair company told me it would be fixed the day after Thanksgiving, following up today they now say the part is on backorder until next month. This will be three months now that I purchased the stove and fortunately am paying zero interest on through HD. I cannot believe the lack of customer service with Amana. I will NEVER EVER do any business with them again!!!

They were no help to me at all about reimbursing me anything on both washer and dryer, which were not that old. I had terrible problems with both. Would never buy a front loader again. The company wanted to give me a percentage off of my new dryer (this broke down first) which had cost so much less. I did not think that was fair.

Amana Wide Dryer - I have purchased the dryer less then 50 days ago and the timer is already bad. This is the customer service ladys response after I say the timer is bad and they still have to order the part so it will be a few more days before it is fixed. I have already had to go to the laundromat once because 5 people live in my home and 2 of them are boys that are 8 years old. It has cost me more money at the laundromat than it does on my electric bill in 2 months. Im sorry but if you spend hundreds of dollars on something, it should work more then 50 days and you should understand not everyone can afford $40 twice a week to go to the laundromat. I will never ever purchase a appliance from Whirlpool (Amana) again after the way I was treated on the phone today. Her best response is We are gonna fix it. Its under warranty. Well yeah duh, I paid for a warranty. On the plus side, ABC Warehouse was so embarrassed that they gave me a extra year warranty on them. We have owned an Amana Range AER5830VAX0 for two years. From cooking and appearance the appliance is just fine. The problem we have been dealing with is the Plastic flange at the ends of the oven range handle. The piece has cracked and chipped post warranty and it cost over $60 to replace. You need to replace the entire handle. That was this past spring. Here it is mid September and the new piece it has is now breaking apart once again.

My washer has given me multiple problems within the first year! It always gets stuck on rinse, which raises my water bill. I have four children and one week before school, my washer stopped working. The technician was supposed to come between one to five. I got home and one of my neighbor said the tech was here at 12:00. He didnt even come back. They were supposed to then come the next day - no show, no call! They have given me nothing but rudeness. Do not buy from this company.

We have had this unit for 25 years and never a minutes trouble. First one with the freezer on the bottom. Just love it. No computers, no ice maker, less things to go wrong. How much more can I say? It works great, it was a great price (at the old circuit city) and it still works great!
