One month after the year warranty expired it broke again. Now the tech is coming out the second time and $450 loss of groceries later it is still **. I purchased Amana fridge (model AFD2535DEQ) on 12-4-2008. Excellent looks, cooling, and energy conservation. Loved the bottom freezer. On December 2011, the fridge’s cooling lost efficiency. The repair tech says top compressor is not working. The cost to repair is half the cost of the fridge. To date the top fridge is keeping at 39 degrees while set on coldest setting. Freezer works fine. For the forty years of my marriage I have purchased and used Maytag and Amana products. Never again! A refrigerator that costs over a thousand dollars and lasts only three years is not a good investment. As a side note, my daughter had the same problem with her Amana at only five years old. She replaced with Kenmore.

We inherited an Amana refrigerator which was about 10 years old. Per the previous owner, it’s been worked on before since warranty companies refuse to replace an item regardless of repair cost. Our compressor went out. 900+ dollars to repair. I’ve never had a such issues with a refrigerator but I also usually buy Kenmore or Maytag. Also the ice maker doesn’t work regularly but we can’t get that looked at until the compressor issue is resolved. Our last refrigerator, a kenmore, lasted 26 years with no problems.

On 2/15/2010, I purchased an Amana Refrigerator for $1019. My old refrigerator was noisy. I had my new Amana for 7 months before it starting making loud noises. Had it repaired under my warranty. 11/25/2011, the refrigerators main part no longer was cooling, although the freezer was still working. Amana now wants $65 for a house call, plus labor and parts or $312 for a one year warranty which would include this repair. How disgusting is this to pay that much for an appliance and have it work for approximately 18 months, and then have the manufacturer want additional money it repair this lemon. After reading some of the reviews, I would never pay an Amana repair man and or buy Amana again. The consumer should be able to get relief from companies like this.

I have an Amana Radarange microwave (model AMC5101AAW). I am very happy with the overall ease of use. However, I noticed lately that the inside top had a few bubbles forming. The other day when I was wiping it clean almost, the whole white paint on top of the inside peeled off. The bottom and sides are fine. I just dont like the idea of the possibility of flakes of paint coming off in the food - or more of the paint peeling off the sides. What are the possibilities of something else happening with no paint covering the metal? I have young grandchildren and dont want something happening with them because of the paint peeling. I dont know what can be done because of this. I believe I had paid about $150 or $175 for it. I would like an answer about what to do with it. Thank you.

Purchased a new Amana Washing Machine, top loader. Repair personnel just left. Oil was leaking from underneath the front. They said, Two to three weeks for new motor and other parts. I was told to continue to use it. My concern is that if there is no oil how can the motor work and the motor is the main part with additional parts. How can I continue to use it? This is a safety concern. If motor has to be replaced because the oil is gone, wouldnt it overheat causing a fire hazard, or further damage to the appliance?Updated on 09/25/2015: The repair technician just left, after a six week wait for six new parts including motor. Everything below the top. It had leaked oil onto the floor. No water damage. Just the motor and all its internal parts. This was a brand new product not a refurbished product, so I paid full price. After the ninth load of clothes this happened and less than ninety days I had go without using my washer. To my dislike I havent been offered a new product replacement nor reimbursed for my inconvenience. Im having Trust issues even right now on using my newly repaired new product. This is concerning to me. It is for this reason that I would have to rate this product a ZERO.

I just recently purchased an Amana Top Load washer and so far am happy with it which is why I am writing this review. People generally only write reviews when they do not like a product or service and its misleading when you only read a few negative reviews. A lot of people complain about the controls but didnt you look at these things at store before your purchase? Obviously not and now want to complain?

Our new oven came on time, installed easily and worked well. However, after its second self-clean cycle a round hole appeared in the finish of the floor of the oven. This hole is about one inch in diameter, with little cracks radiating outward from it. We called Amana, who sent a repairman to assess the issue. Subsequently, Amana shipped us a small tube of touch-up paint. This paint is a different colour than the ovens interior finish (black vs dark blue), stinks horribly for several days after application, and does not fill the hole even after three applications. A further call to Amana has yielded only the statement that there is nothing more they will do.By the way, the repair technician who came told us that its quite common for this kind of flaw to occur. Be advised, your nice looking appliance may start looking ugly soon after purchase, and youll be on your own! I have advised the appliance people at the local Home Depot to provide a warning to anyone wishing to buy an Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag or JennAir appliance.

We recently purchased an Amana washer Model# NTW4605EW1. Supposedly high efficiency. It takes at least 2 full washes to get clothes clean and that includes an extra rinse each time. My husbands work clothes are on a 3rd wash right now. Fed up!! What a waste of money time and water. Now spending money to go to a laundromat until we can afford a new washer. We cant even sell it. How can I do that to some other family? Brand new and headed to the dump. Shame on you Amana.

I purchased an Amana Refrigerator Model; #ASS2222FEQ with Serial#1156842NA on 3/25/2008. On 7/13/2009, second incident of freezer not working in a refrigerator not yet 1-1/2 years old. I called 877-342-1446. Frantic that I was going to lose a freezer of food, I was advised by Kim that a repairman would arrive at 7/15 between 8am-12n. I called 800-628-5782, which was another number I had for Amana and spoke with Jamila. After explaining the problem, Jamila advised me that there was no service call request in the computer, so she initiated and advised that a repairman would be here on Wednesday, 7/15/09. I did tell Jamila that a second freezer failure in less than a year is totally unacceptable.7/15/09, a repairman arrived right around 8am, discovered some problem with paperwork; I called 877-342-1446 and spoke with Mark, who was able to advise me that I had called the manufacturer and the extended warranty numbers advised are separate and do not have shared computer programs. Mark said that he could take care of it, gave me a confirmation number to the repairman and was going to Fax sheets to the local office. On 7/16/2009, the local repair business called me to say that Maytag Dependability Plus was refusing to pay the bill because they authorized another company for the repair and that company called after the first repairman had left. Amana Dependability Plus will not change the work order from A&E Factory Service (who did not come or perform any service) to Convenient Appliance Service, who came and rendered service. Jim, at the 877-3542-1446, would not give me the names of any supervisor nor would he transfer me to anyone else. He said no one there has any more authority than he had. I then called the 800-628-5782 and asked for the name of the president of company. Lisa did not know the name of the Amana president, and said all she could do was to transfer me to Dependability Plus, because I have an extended warranty, endless, repetitive cycle. I advised all parties that I had not realized I was speaking with two different departments, but since the service was Ok’d, I do not understand the big deal to cancel the work order to A&E Factory Service and transfer it to Convenient Appliance Service. Oh no, this can’t possibly be done! Not only do I apparently have a faulty piece of equipment, this is a company dedicated to providing customer frustration. This could have been so easily solved, but agents have dug their heels in, and will be damned if they will help the customer. This is the very last Whirlpool/Amana product I will purchase. Remember, this is the second time the freezer stopped freezing in less than 1-1/2years. Customer service is a joke and we wonder why jobs go overseas? I am stuck with a $97 bill, my freezer problem is still unresolved and I have wasted an entire day. My B/P is soaring. I regret ever purchasing an Amana product and certainly an extended warranty.

I purchased a washer machine a year ago. I even got the extended warranty on it; which doesnt run out until 2018. Ever since I have had this washer there has been problem after problem. I have even had new parts such as the transmission put on there, but the washing machine is still messed up. I have had to go to the laundromat to wash clothes and to my sons house. That should not be when I have a washer at home. I do not recommend this company to anyone. If I could return it I would but unfortunately my 30 days are long over. Im stuck with a washer that stays broke more than it stays working. Thank you for the worthless merchandise.

New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fixed under warranty. 6 months later (still in warranty), it stops working, but only occasionally. Stupid me should have gotten it fixed again, but it wasnt that bad. When it broke for good, the flimsy 1-year warranty (really, people?) had just ended, though it was less than a year since the first problem. I called Amana - they refused to help. I decided this was just wrong, and called to complain. After 35 minutes on hold, I got an agent who was so rude I decided to complain about her. The problem was, she refused to even give her name! I submitted this entire story on the web-based customer service portal. Weeks went by and I received no response, except I did get a solicitation in the mail to buy an extended warranty! So, my miserable customer experience is viewed by Amana as a marketing opportunity! I have read many others say the same thing. It’s shocking how American customer service values have eroded. Finally, I got their social media person over Twitter. He looked into it and refused to help. I could tell it was because he has no power to deviate from their script. Amana has it baked into their corporate culture to treat customer misery as an opportunity to make money.

Warning do not accept delivery of stove if when its plugged it says F1E1. It means the stove control panel is broken and oven will not work! An Amana electric stove was ordered online via Home Depot. Delivery time a week. A week passed no stove. Phone call made told they were out of stock and would be in a few weeks. Got a call after a few weeks, delivery would be in the next 2 hours. 4 hours later calls made and no stove would be delivered on next day in a 4 hour open window. Stove arrived, mover said See it works and turned on top burner, was in a hurry and disappeared. Finally a stove top & oven. Went to grocery store did the big shop roasts, baking goods, quiche supplies etc. Got home prepared food for oven. Started preheat and nothing seemed to click or change. Thought it might be user error entering in temp, bake, time etc in wrong order. Called Amana they are not open Sat and Sun. Called Home Depot not helpful since store did not sell it to me, was bought online. Provided a Maytag number called that. Rep wanted model number it was on the stove. It was not on the directions. I read off what was on the stove front and saw no model. Tried oven door, no, no model number. Finally she asked a colleague and said Look in the pull out drawer. No not there but I noticed a thin metal stamped striped hidden by the drawer. Down on my knees, head upside down tried to read print. Too tiny. Gave her model number based on Home Depot photo but then she needed a serial number, on the thin strip. Could not read it. I asked her as I had asked Home Depot what the code meant and had I entered in bake the wrong way and why did it say F1E1. Finally she said I needed a technician since that meant the control panel was broken but without a serial number nothing could be done. That was on a Sat. Tue someone stopped by and was able to write the number down using a flashlight. Called back in and next appointment if keep by Amana will be in a week.Summary a basic stove, no special adaptions, was ordered and it will be between 4-6 weeks before it might be useful. Food had to be thrown out, other items quality diminished by freezing. Why a new stove is delivered with a non working control panel is unacceptable. No remuneration was offered by Amana nor Home Depot for inability to cook, time wasted for delivery and now technician. If your product is not available and does not work you should not be advertising it.

Amana Washer NTW4516F - If I could give Zero or negative I would. This is the MOST awful service I have ever had anywhere, and I am 65 years old and have lived on 3 continents and 4 countries. Awful washer, awful service. The washer blew up with electric sparks all over the place after 3 weeks - couldve electrocuted the lady of the house! Now we are coming up on 4 weeks later and the repair is STILL NOT COMPLETE. I get a lot of sympathy but no action. The local service company never did respond to any follow up, or messages left on their god-awful phone system, and now we have to wait another week to get a second service company in there. Amana never offered to compensate for having to go to the laundromat for a month, or replace their crummy machine.

Less than 8 months later the problem reappeared. There is a class action lawsuit for this well known issue. But Amana refuses to act. I call the company and they replace the computer, now 6 month later all the paint was rust and peeling. My refrigerator since the first day the Home Depot installs never delivery water on the door, and now the icemaker water conduct is freezing every two days and dont make ice. I called in to purchase 2 grease filters and a charcoal filter with a light bulb for my confection oven and they no longer support their products. I have model ACo1180AB which is ten years old this year. When they discontinue their items after 12 months they no longer have to support the items they have sold in the past. As a consumer this is unacceptable. Do not use your hard earned money to support this type of company. This is the same as if you purchased a brand new car and your front head lights are no longer working and you call in to request parts for your car so you can drive it on the road but find they no longer have those headlights so you can not use it any longer. The unit works but you can not use it because they do not support their product because they discontinued the manufacture of those items..

I purchased a refrigerator in 2008, Amana. In 2013 the refrigerator failed and stopped working. I called and of course the warranty is no longer valid. In order to fix the 5 year old refrigerator I had to purchase another warranty for 347.00. So here we are 2 years later and again the refrigerator is not working, so I called them and they cant help me - only if I buy another warranty for now 414.00. These people are scam artist and I think we all should start a class action suit against Amana. They are crooks.

I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago. Today, (bottom) freezer quit. I called the original store for info; 4 years old so it’s out of warranty. I called another service company - more than the first. I sought Amana online and called toll free. They confirmed there is nothing they can do due to past 1 year warranty. I called my friend who bought the same fridge; she had the same problem and invested much money into fridge, which never worked correctly. I then found many customers online having the same problem at 4 years; compressor quits! This should not be with a new fridge. I called the Amana toll free number back and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke with Sherri, ID# **. After putting me on hold, she advised she would sell me an extended warranty for $392.39 to fix the freezer! This should not be; I told her I should pursue a class action suit as many customers have had the same complaint.

I will never buy an Amana product again. We purchased an Amana gas stove three years ago. I cleaned it one year after we got it and the glass in the door looked like something leaked inside. I called about it and they stated that the seal came loose and there was nothing they could do about it. We could replace it for some ridiculous price. Now, we are having trouble with the glass because it gets moisture in there and there is mold growing. Again, we have to pay to have it fixed. When you pay over $500.00 for an appliance, I expect to have some type of warranty. Needless to say, we need to get a new door, instead, we are getting a new stove and not an Amana. Another complaint I have is that the burners do not clean up nice like they say they do. I hate this stove! I would not have even given it 1 star but you had to. It would have no stars marked if it was up to me.

When I contacted Amana customer service, Melanie ** said that the range is old and they do not have the panels. What got me angry was that I called a company here in Toledo, Ohio and they have the parts I need. Amana should have recalled that range and admitted that Amana is junk. We purchased a basic model Amana refrigerator A9RXNMFWB01 in June 2010, delivered in July 2010. The refrigerator was making a lot of noise the past few months. We didnt realize the fan was not working properly. When the fan quit, the food was still frozen in the top freezer. But the refrigerator compartment would not go below 50 degrees. I called for the Amana technician. A & E couldnt make it over until the following week, so we called a local repairman. $182 later, new fan, the refrigerator is fixed. Its only 15 months old! Our old Amana is still running since 1997. We have never had troubles with a refrigerator in our 35 years of buying appliances. Now I see on reviews of compressors going bad. Appliances are not made well and we will be lucky to get 8 years out of this Amana with cheap parts. There go our landfills. What can we buy that wont cost hundreds to fix? We have never had to buy extended warranty. This is a money maker for Amana (Maytag, Whirlpool). It’s a lesson learned. I’m very dissatisfied. I feel we deserve to be compensated for this breakdown, especially since it acted up during the 1st year of warranty. We shall see if Amana can make it right.

Last year I purchased a new Amana washer and dryer for our home. I chose to buy new because of the factory warranty included with new appliances. I was sadly mistaken to believe that Amana would honor this warranty. I was told that even though we live about 30 to 40 minutes outside of the largest city in state of Oklahoma, there are no service providers in my area! This means that I have two choices, I can either find a way to transport my broken washer to an approved service provider at my own expense, or I can pay a local repairman and be reimbursed up to $150.00 in about 6 weeks. These are my options?!! My washer is brand new, why should I have to pay when its still under warranty? I have no way to transport my washer! Its huge. I would have to rent a truck twice to drop it off and pick it up. My only option is to pay for the repair and wait over a month to be reimbursed. I asked them why they would only repay me $150.00 if repairs cost more than that, but I was only told that it shouldnt cost over that amount. So now I have to go a family members house to wash school clothes for my daughters and decide which utility bill can wait so I can fix my NEW washing machine. My advice, dont buy Amana, they will not stand by their warranty unless its convenient for them. I will never buy from them again.

In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. As if I would be fool enough to buy another product from a company who discontinues a small part that is vital to the operation of one of their major appliances in order to force a customer to replace that appliance. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. This is technology.I hung up.My new range will be anything but an Amana – Maytag, Whirlpool – or anything connected to them. They are a disgrace.

My Amana appliance is 11 yrs old and maybe I expect it to last longer, but I had to have it repaired in the last two years twice. They just dont make things like they used to or maybe it is the country they make them in. I had a bottom freezer Sears refrigerator, I think it was a Kenmore brand and when I moved out of my house it was 19 yrs old, running good. But I didnt want to move it, because it was so big and I was moving to an apartment. It really is a good refrigerator, just not one that lasts a long time. I expect a $2000.00 refrigerator to last at least 20 years if you take good care of it, like vacuum the places required and keep it clean.

Amana freezer (AQF2013TEW03) - I purchased a 20 Cu Ft upright freezer in February 2011. I had a repairman here in March 2011 because I could see light around the outside, right side of the seal. Because the light was on continuously, it kept the inside warm therefore, the freezer ran nonstop for 6 weeks. Now, the inside keeps frosting up on the top. Because it is no longer in warranty, I called a different repair company. The person who came out said that the whole inside of the door is falling part, defective mold and its sagging. The seal at the top of the door is not straight across nor never was. Because the inside door is sagging, the seal was and is continuing to sag. I called customer service for the third time today. They said because it is out of warranty, they wont do anything about it. I told them its been a problem since I bought it and they said that I should have told them within 90 days of the first repair that it wasnt correct. How was I supposed to know that the door/seal werent made like that since I bought it new? They told me Id have to purchase a new door for $403.44 plus tax and shipping. They kept bringing up the no warranty and that it would be fixed if Id have had an extended warranty. I was not offered an extended warranty when we purchased it (which I told them) and they said I should have gotten a postcard reminding me that the warranty period was up soon. I never received the card and and their customer service department doesnt believe me. This is terrible customer service and they dont stand behind their product. Four months out of warranty and Im stuck with a very large boat anchor. Their customer service is awful to say the least. The supervisor is just as bad and they dont give a crap about anything. On November 23, 2011, my 2007 Amana French door, bottom freezer refrigerator model # AFI2538AES began making a loud popping noise, touch pad panel lights flashing, and cooling stopped. The popping noise was from the ice maker flap opening and closing. The HV board needs replaced, Whirlpool Manufacturer #12920710. I contacted Amana to order the part. The service rep said it is on backorder until February because they have been pulled from the shelf and are being revamped. When I asked if the part would be covered by Amana, since a part needing revamped was essentially defective, I was told no. Requested to speak with supervisor, who states she didnt know where I had heard that the part is being revamped but occasionally, they have difficulty finding manufacturers to produce parts and was certain this was the circumstance. I was told there were no other complaints like mine documented. Amazingly, however, the supervisor was able to locate the backordered part, which the service rep, the parts department and two independent repair shops were unable to find. I expressed my concern that the part found, only three in stock, may be leftover from the stock requiring revamping, rather from the previous manufacturer and not of the same quality of the part which may be produced and available in February. I suggested they reimburse for the part. They declined. I suggested they reimburse should the replacement part need replaced. They declined. I thought of more suggestions but didnt feel they were appropriate to express. Whirlpool/Maytag/Amana should recall the bottom freezer refrigerators with the HV board #12920710 due to defective or faulty part or incompatibility with these refrigerator models.

Read the small print of warranty exclusions. Who would think a rusting stainless steel finish is not covered on a stainless steel appliance? Our $1200+ Amana AFD2535FES 12 refrigerator started showing signs of rust about two years after we purchased it. Research shows that this can be a problem if inferior stainless steel is used. Customer Service said to try to clean with warm soapy water and a t-shirt. If that didnt work we had to call a service agent at our expense. I have other stainless steel appliances (GE) that do not have any rust and they are much older, in the same room and I clean them the same way. It is ironic because I thought GE was a cheaper made product so intentionally purchased an AMANA thinking it was better quality.

We bought an Amana Dishwasher (division of Whirlpool) Model ADB1400PYW in March of 2014. This is just to let consumers know that they should check to make sure new parts are in a new appliance. In February of 2016 we had to replace the control panel board because it was not completing a full cycle and the Clean Light would blink. We did the troubleshooting first before calling our repairman. When he removed the old control board he noticed something odd. He showed me and my husband a little sticker on the part. It said RECONDITIONED. Why was a reconditioned part in a new appliance? No wonder it broke down after not even two years of use. I called Whirlpool and they had no explanation and of course could not offer me any reimbursement because we put a replacement in. Whatever. I called Amana and since I did not like what the sales rep said I asked for a supervisor which stated to me that he could not help me to replace the top piece of the washer. He could only send me a bottle of touch up paint. This guy also needs to send me a large brush with a quart of paint! This washer is only a little over 3 years old and should not be peeling like it is. Not like a bunch of people use this washer as it is being used by 2 adults. No abuse or rough treatment on this appliance. Lousy paint job! Where was the inspector for the painting of this washer? Not doing his job most likely because if he had done a half-way decent inspection he would have noticed the bad paint job. The sample bottle would not cover the areas without paint. I cannot believe that this was made in America as some 3rd world country would do a much better paint job. Dryer is OK but washer a mess. I will never buy a Made in America washer or dryer again. The foreign appliances will be on my list to purchase from now on especially since these manufacturers in the US make these defective items and charge you many dollars for junk. Never will recommend Amana to anyone for anything as they do not stand behind their work.

I bought a house last year that came with new a new Amana washing machine and new Amana dryer (matching set). They are both junk, this is the worst brand you can buy. The washing machine is the worst, my clothes come out dirtier than they were before running the wash. The technology also does not allow you to start running the water before putting the clothes in, which is a design issue and it may contribute to the reason the clothes do not get clean. The other problem, which is huge, it puts holes in new clothes and linens, without fail. All of my stuff is coming out with holes. I am going to put negative reviews out everywhere I can to warn people not to buy these junky products.

We have owned an Amana Range AER5830VAX0 for two years. From cooking and appearance the appliance is just fine. The problem we have been dealing with is the Plastic flange at the ends of the oven range handle. The piece has cracked and chipped post warranty and it cost over $60 to replace. You need to replace the entire handle. That was this past spring. Here it is mid September and the new piece it has is now breaking apart once again.

P.s dont even get me started on the cook top.

It is too cramped, much of the size is on the outside, not the inside. The shelves are inadequate and the inner construction of both shelves and drawers is flimsy. The real problem is my better half has looked at alternatives and they are no better. I could best call it all flash and no fire.

Last February 2006, I purchased an Amana Top Refrigerator Bottom Freezer. For 5 years, this is the third time I replace its Control Board. And today (9/2011), I was told that I need my THIRD Control Board ($300) replace again. I got no help from my local retailer or Amana. I will never buy this junk again. For 5 years, this refrigerator cost me $1000 new Control Boards and $900 in repairs!

We had our Amana fridge freezer fitted in January 2009. After 6 years and 6 months this appliance has broken down and is unrepairable. We paid £3,800.00 for the fridge, and would have expected at least 10 years service from it, as we have had 10/12 years service from fridges that we have paid a fraction of this cost for. We have contacted Whirlpool, who manufactured the fridge, and have had a very unsatisfactory response so far. We are still fighting our case, and we are prepared to take this all the way, to make sure that no-one else buys an Amana product. If we had been advised that the expected lifespan of this appliance was so short and would be unrepairable, we would never have bought it.

I bought an Amana stove 2 years ago. It has been in service 5 times within the last year. The temperature control board keeps messing up. Called customer service. They said to reset it. Which I had to do 3 times and still couldnt finish making dinner. It was last fixed in November and its out again. They really dont care. Told me buy extra warranty for 400$. REALLY!!! Lets just say my response was not nice. I told them since they didnt care I would let people know about my bad experience and terrible product, she hung up on me. Now I have a useless stove because it cost just as much to fix it than what I paid for it. I would never recommend this company or product to anyone.

I bought an Amana Model AFI2538AES6 side by side refrigerator with bottom freezer. 3 months after purchase, ice formed in the freezer area below and I couldnt get the door open. They sent a repair man and he fixed it (supposedly). I then left for 6 months and upon my return the same problem is occurring. I called Amana and they basically told me tough it is out of warranty. I will never buy an Amana product again!

Our Amana/Whirlpool electric dryer failed a month before the warranty expired. It was repaired under warranty. Two years later, the heating element failed. I can fix this myself. I just ordered the part that will cost $136. We are a family of three and we dry clothes outside on a clothesline in the summer, so we didnt wear out this appliance.

We bought an Amana refrigerator #ABD2533DEB in Dec 2004. We have had it for 7 years. Its just 2 adults in our house, so the fridge is like new. We just paid $95 to find out the compressor is shot. The cost to repair will be $800, $300 for the compressor and $500 labor. We were told that the compressor that failed had been made in China and that there have been many issues with these compressors! We were assured that all new after market compressors are now made in Korea with far fewer issues. We lost everything in the freezer and most of the fresh food in the fridge. Amana & Maytag need to do a much better job standing behind their products! Based on what Ive read, we will never buy another Amana! We will also advise any friend looking to buy a new appliance.

It does not have a liquid fabric softener dispenser and the bleach dispenser has spotted some of my dark clothing. The washer washes small to extra large loads also delicate. But it appears not to empty fully so I no longer use it. On the other hand, the dryer works well and has many selections for air to time setting to auto dry.
