On February 4th 2009, I purchased an Amana front load washer and since September 29th 2010, we have had it serviced four times to replace. First, the door latch sensor; second, the door itself; third, the front panel and fourth, a new motor was installed on August 30th 2011. Now, we still have the error code 3e, which was supposed to be for the motor pop up again on September 3rd and I had to put in a fifth service. This is the worst appliance I have ever bought. I do not recommend anyone to purchase this item. I dont know what I was thinking when I went to the Home Depot. In the past, I have always purchased my appliances from Sears Kenmore and I still have my 12-year-old dryer which is still going strong.

In 2006, I purchased all new Amana products, $1500 French Door Refrigerator AFD2535DEB bought 5yr extended warranty now another 3yr warranty. What a joke! I have lost over $800 in food and no one will fix it. The freezer works but the refrigerator in warm. Takes over two weeks to get a repair man to the house and when he gets there, its working again. Then they want to charge you for a service call because they couldnt get there when it wasnt working! Do not buy Amana! Same thing happened with the range. It was only 4 years old. Paid $900. They wanted to charge me $500 for the computer board, really! Come on Amana wake up! Washer/dryer and dishwasher are junk as well. Nothing but a money pit. Never again will I purchase from them.

This is the worst stove I have ever used. 70-100 degrees off in oven, takes forever to preheat. Top elements wont heat properly, cant boil water unless a lid is on. Do not recommend this product. The first stove I sent back, replacement is no better. Would be ok for someone that does not cook.

We bought the Amana washer and dryer 8 months ago. We were very pleased at first as to how silent the washer was. Then we started to notice that the washer was taking longer than usual to wash a regular load of clothes. I didn’t think anything of it until it started making the worst noise I have ever heard, it sounded like the drum was going to come out of the whole shell. I called ABC Warehouse where we bought the set and they told us that it was under manufacturers warranty and to call the warranty service. I called and they set us an appointment for the service repair center, which is Lewis Appliance in my area, which these people are worthless. He came in and lay on the floor and did some things to it with a machine and told me that they had to order the part and it should only be a week or two but I could use it in the meantime. It has been a month and a half and I am still waiting to get it fixed and it is still beating itself to death worse than ever. I called Whirlpool today and got into a screaming match with the customer service department and then the supervisor, to no avail. I told them its beating itself to death. They told me that if anything else breaks on it then they would continue to fix it until it is pretty much no longer repairable. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS. THEY ARE JUNK!!!

This was a dishwasher put in by the Seller of a home I was purchasing. I am a single senior who runs a dishwasher maybe every 10 days I would say. After just 2 years, the spray arm quit spraying water. This model only has one spray arm on the bottom. Research tells me its one of two things, pump or motor I think, and either way, I might as well buy a new dishwasher. This to me is totally unacceptable that an appliance would break down in such a short period of time. Do not recommend for this reason. When it worked, it did a fine job on the dishes. But Im a scraper and rinser and never put in pots and pans etc. I just cant recommend throwing $300 down the drain.

My Amana side by side had continual problems with the gaskets wearing out, cracking, and failing. I had to replace them 3 times in 18 years. The ice maker never really worked successfully. Would have replaced it with a bottom freezer if I had the $$.

We had our Amana fridge freezer fitted in January 2009. After 6 years and 6 months this appliance has broken down and is unrepairable. We paid £3,800.00 for the fridge, and would have expected at least 10 years service from it, as we have had 10/12 years service from fridges that we have paid a fraction of this cost for. We have contacted Whirlpool, who manufactured the fridge, and have had a very unsatisfactory response so far. We are still fighting our case, and we are prepared to take this all the way, to make sure that no-one else buys an Amana product. If we had been advised that the expected lifespan of this appliance was so short and would be unrepairable, we would never have bought it.

The organization I represent purchased 224 Amana/Goodman PTAC units in 2013, we have had nothing but issue after issue with this product since installation. Blown fuses, wiring issues, incorrect fuse holders, etc... Now there is a product recall on 160 of the units, we submitted the application and Amana sent us the parts to perform the upgrade ourselves. When I called the phone number provided for the recall they tell me to contact Amana in regard to the labor. When I contact Amana they tell me apply online. I would not recommend purchasing any product from this organization.

I just purchased an Amana washer this February and already its stop working. I havent even got to use it much. It has been down since May 26, 2016 and counting. DONT BUY AMANA! You hear me. Their product is junk.

I bought an Amana frontloader (Model #NFW7200TW) 4 years ago at Home Depot. Machine stopped draining and started showing error code (nd = not draining). I called a repairman, and he diagnosed the problem as a bad relay for the pump. He said because the relay was encased in resin on the back of the control panel, I would have to buy a new panel. Later, when he called me to give the part number, he said that the part was on a nationwide backorder and would be $400.00 when it became available on 10/15. I did some checking online and found that the part W10273828 is in fact on back order and no one has one. It seems that this means that this part is a definite weak link, and this model should be recalled. On this site, there are several posts with the same problem.

In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. As if I would be fool enough to buy another product from a company who discontinues a small part that is vital to the operation of one of their major appliances in order to force a customer to replace that appliance. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. This is technology.I hung up.My new range will be anything but an Amana – Maytag, Whirlpool – or anything connected to them. They are a disgrace.

Our Amana refrigerator ART316TFDW serial # VS62254299 purchased in 2016 failed in late 2019. The cost of parts to replace the evaporator and compressor is C$816.13 + labour + tax. The original unit cost was about C$725 + tax. We contacted Amana Canada about this. They said that since we dont have an extended warranty, there is nothing that they are willing to do. They apparently arent bothered by the fact that their product did not even last four years. That is not a good product and that is not good service. We will be buying another fridge, but can you guess whether it will be from Amana/Whirlpool Corporation?

People generally only write reviews when they do not like a product or service and its misleading when you only read a few negative reviews. A lot of people complain about the controls but didnt you look at these things at store before your purchase? Obviously not and now want to complain?

I have wanted a 2-stage HP for years so when our 22yo 10SEER AC was nearing EOL, we jumped at the opportunity for a high-performance unit. My expectations have been exceeded: We love the dehumidification feature, the ECM air handler is able to reach the furthest corners of our house, I have to go outside to check if the condenser is running sometimes even though the unit is right outside our kitchen window, and the heat pump uses ~1kW less electricity while in the 2nd stage than our old unit. ComfortNet/Bridge took some learning but if you have patience and like to read then you'll be tuning your system in no time. Honestly, I ended up going back to many of the defaults because the whole setup is already quite efficient. We recently had a few <50F mornings so I have also been able to test the heat in action and am now looking forward to a cold winter to really stretch the system's legs!

Amana front load washer - This machine is 4 years old and has broken down three times due to code ND for not draining. I called tech, and $250 later and new drain pump, it worked for about 6 months. Interface board went out and I paid $200 for the part, which I put in myself. It worked okay for 1 year. Another drain pump is out and I paid $125 for the part. Eight months later, another interface board went out. It is time to junk this new washer and buy another brand. I could have paid for another machine for what it cost me to keep it running. These machines are junk.

I bought washer dryer fridge combo from Home Depot and 16 months later, the compressor goes out in my frig. and needs $900 repair and lost all my $400 plus in food. Thanks for caring, Amana and Home Depot that you shot our holiday. We have no more money to fix or replace our food crackers for our holiday. Can we all get together and sue them both? My husband and I bought a brand new Amana front load washer in May of 2009. Last week, March 5, 2011, it broke. It began buzzing. When I went to check it, the washer has an “ND” code and it would not open. The first girl I spoke with was Samantha. She told me that she couldnt find that code in her computer (on the net is says it means no drain, most likely true), but she told me how to get the washer to unlocked. Eventually, it did work. My washer still had dirty water and soap in it. I handled the soapy mess and later washed my clothing at my in-law’s house. When I called back to talk to them about why my washer wouldnt work and what they could do to help me, I was told nothing. I spoke to a manager and was told the same thing. The only thing they were willing to do was give me a warranty plus one. Meaning, that I get this repair fixed and one-year warranty on the piece of junk in my basement. My washer wont be 3 till May. There is no reason for it to be broken. I also did my own research and many people have complained about the same problem. I feel that this washer should be recalled or at least the company should fix it at no cost to the consumer. This seems to be an on-going problem with this model. We bought thinking this we were buying from a good company. Now, Im stuck with a scrap pile till I get the repair guy to come out, thanks to a warranty that I have to pay for out of pocket.

The washer and dryer are a nice size, nice colors. However not a whole lot detail on the door locks which is nice but afraid to open it if I need to add softener. Also I would like it to be a little more quietly.

Have gone thru 4 repairs for the main board and temp probe in one year. For Amana aer6303mfs1 model glass top range. Now its out of warranty and its messing up again. Gives an f3 o3 error code and the oven wont go above 275 degrees. Will never buy from them again. Bought at Home Depot.

Its a good machine. Competitively priced. Good water conservation implemented. It is attractively designed with fool-proof control settings... puts operator in drivers seat for a positive outcome...When paired with Amanas matching dryer, it is a bargain purchase.

I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago. Today, (bottom) freezer quit. I called the original store for info; 4 years old so it’s out of warranty. I called another service company - more than the first. I sought Amana online and called toll free. They confirmed there is nothing they can do due to past 1 year warranty. I called my friend who bought the same fridge; she had the same problem and invested much money into fridge, which never worked correctly. I then found many customers online having the same problem at 4 years; compressor quits! This should not be with a new fridge. I called the Amana toll free number back and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke with Sherri, ID# **. After putting me on hold, she advised she would sell me an extended warranty for $392.39 to fix the freezer! This should not be; I told her I should pursue a class action suit as many customers have had the same complaint.

I purchased this Amana washer in March 23, 2015. In February 27, 2016, this problem occurred: I turn on the washer, but as soon as the wash fill ups with water, it does not move to wash and it does not lock to start the wash cycle. The water drains and then I have to start the wash all over again. So I thought it was the lid switch, and my solution was to push down on the lid hard enough until I heard a click sound. This worked for several months. Another problem occurred on August 12, 2016: my load would complete the cycle, but when I open the lid, I clearly see that the clothes are soaked so this means that during the drain/spin cycle, the speed was too slow to fully squeeze out all of the water from the clothes. So my next solution was to start the drain/spin cycle only, but again. With all these problems that keep coming up, we decided to use our warranty, so we called in to have the washer repaired.We called HHGregg to repair the washer, and we gave all the detailed information as to the problems and the possible fixes to it. Their representatives solution was to replace the washer because they deemed the necessary repairs to the washer as costing more than the value of the washer. Well, we were shocked, because this washer is only 18 months old, so how could its value decrease so quickly in under 2 years? I researched and found that the drain/spin and lid switch is a very common problem with Amana washers. So we understood that we got what we paid for. So back to the washer replacement with HHGregg. They shipped us a new washer for around the same price of our old purchase.Again, we purchased the first washer in March (we got a St. Patricks Day Sale Price), and now were getting this new washer that is smaller and still is an Amana. HHGregg refuses to repair it, they would rather give us a washer that is smaller in capacity and would most likely last for a year but no more than 2 yrs. In a nutshell, we were screwed over by HHGregg, because they saved on repair costs, and gave us a washer of lesser value than what we originally started with. Oh ya, we had to pay on taxes, obviously, so they profited from that too. AMANA WASHERS ARE TERRIBLE!!! Save your money and purchase a more reliable washer!!!

We have an Amana 30 slide-in gas range (model # ACS3350AS) that is about 6 years old. The top burners are out of adjustment and are burning yellow. I went to the Amana website to find out how to adjust the air/fuel ratio and they wanted payment for answering a question. I spent 35 years in the gas customer service department of a large utility company, 20 of which were spent as a service technician for gas heating/hot water heating systems. After reading some of the complaints and evaluating their level of customer service and overall customer sensitivity, this company, Amana, is failing miserably. The upshot is that their executive management should probably seek positions that require a more parochial approach to business.

We purchased an Amana ref from our local appliance store in the Renton Highlands, a model A9RXNGFYW. In 2011, during its warranty, we called store about the overheating problem. Told that needs to be addressed to the Amana people. Called them. They say this is normal operations. Now I am talking about heat that burns when you touch anyplace around the freezer seal & side of fridge. Just want to hear if anyone else has this problem. Thank you.

6/4/2015 - The lid on my less-than-2-month-old Amana washer breaks, and I call customer service. The rep is extremely apologetic and tells me someone will be out on 6/9/2015 to fix it and that they will call the day prior to confirm. 6/8/2015 - Sadly, no call is ever received. 6/9/2015 - I call the service company to inquire as to whether anyone is coming to look at my washer. Their response was, Nope, we were given the wrong phone number by Amana, so when we couldnt reach you, we had to cancel. I then call Amana back, confirm that they do in fact have the wrong phone number, correct that issue (or so I thought) and try to get another appointment scheduled. After two hours of stubborn resistance, I manage to get an appointment scheduled for 6/10/2015.6/10/2015 - Repairman looks at my washer, and after five minutes, pinpoints the issue and tells me hes going to need to order a part. He then says that he should have no trouble getting the part by 6/12/2015. 6/12/2015 - The day comes and goes without incident. 6/15/2015 - I call the service repair company who tells me that the part is on back order and wont be available until at least 6/30/2015. Later, I call Amana yet again, correct my phone number for the second time (see, I was getting back to that) and try to see if theres another resolution. The customer service rep I am speaking with tells me, it is what it is, and that this is the best she can do. I ask to speak to her supervisor, who I am then transferred to, who tells me that he, in fact, cannot do anything to help expedite the process either, but that someone might be calling me in 3-5 business days to let me know about the part.At this point I ask, So youve made a defective product, incorrectly recorded my information at least twice, caused me to miss one service appointment due to negligence and have yet to accept any responsibility for the situation at hand... How is this an acceptable resolution? After a pause, he says,so yeah, in like three to five business days, someone might be calling you about that part... Dumbfounded, I hung up and rage-devoured a cheeseburger to help me cope with my lack of progress, ironically spilling ketchup on my pants in the process. I might be able to at least attempt to get the stain out in somewhere around 3-5 business days.

Last February 2006, I purchased an Amana Top Refrigerator Bottom Freezer. For 5 years, this is the third time I replace its Control Board. And today (9/2011), I was told that I need my THIRD Control Board ($300) replace again. I got no help from my local retailer or Amana. I will never buy this junk again. For 5 years, this refrigerator cost me $1000 new Control Boards and $900 in repairs!

Ice maker on Amana ADT 2105 BW refrigerator/freezer. Ice maker no longer available and NO substitute available. Contacting the company...same thing. So Amana is telling me, Tough luck, sucker.

I had lots of problems with the Amana slide in range, with Model #ACSE350AS, from the get go. Where to start? Here’s a list of the problems: the control panel got really hot on high heat or broil causing the plastic layer over the buttons to warp; the burner labels (front right, back left, etc) chipped off; you need to press buttons that poked through the plastic; uneven heating and the temperature was never accurate; it took awhile to preheat; the heating elements needed to be replaced; and finally, the panel just gave out, caught fire, and we had to call the fire department! We will not buy Amana again!

This refrigerator functions properly and over time is reliable. HOWEVER, corners have been clearly cut in quality of the exterior handles (fridge and bottom freezer) which have seriously yellowed, making it a complete and embarrassing eyesore in my kitchen!! I no longer consider Amana a trusted brand and will not purchase any Amana appliances going forward. Customers beware!! I find it especially appalling that the yellowing of course occurs outside of any warranty period = Amana is all about profit at the expense of the customer... short sighted, penny-wise and pound-foolish for such an established brand. Amana - fool me once but never again!

The dishwasher exceeded our expectations, the installers were punctual, courteous and did a great job of setting it up and taking the old unit away. A very nice experience!

Bought this on 5/1/2018, was delivered 5/8/2018. Called service because of how wet things were and dishwasher walls were extremely wet. First repairman said there was nothing wrong. Called the company and they sent a different repairman who found that it needed a new control panel, that the heater was not coming on. That was replaced on 5/24/2018 and I am still having issues with wet dishes and very wet walls when the cycle is done. I have had other dishwashers and none of them were wet when done. I think I got a lemon and have been trying to get the company to give me a replacement, even if I have to spend a bit more money. I am disgusted with the performance of this Amana product and would never recommend it to anyone.Updated on 06/15/2018: So disgusted with my new Amana dishwasher. After calling and having repairmen out 4 times I was told nothing more can be done. The is fact that my dishes and silverware have to hand dried after the cycle is done and the interior of the dishwasher is very wet. The last repairman told me its because of the thin plastic that is used and the heat is not as high is the problem. He said that after it is used for a while the walls will become seasoned. What a bunch of crap. My old dishwasher had a plastic interior and I never had to dry anything. I am so sorry I bought this dishwasher. I will never recommend Amana to anyone. I would like to dump this piece of junk on your doorstep. I have sent other emails on my problem to which I never got a response. Ignore me and I still will not go away.

Was purchasing my first washer & dryer and, quite frankly, looking for best value I could find. Bought Amana washer and dryer and while I dont do tons of laundry, they have both been great. Especially like that the washer has sensing to determine optimal water level. Only thing Im not crazy about, and this is nit-picking, there is no buzzer to indicate that a load is done.

I am very unhappy to write this because I thought Amana product is good brand and product since very long time but I was wrong. Its total garbage and wastage of money, I bought the combo dryer and washer from Leons on boxing day. After couple of days using the dryer I found that its not efficient as I thought, after drying the cloth always keep wet, I think I bought the bad quality product, I wish I could return this! I request do not buy amana ever in life.

An Amana furnace and air conditioner were purchased in Dec 2013 after my 21 year old furnace died. The Amana furnace first broke down and stopped cycling Feb 2014. The air conditioner first broke down and blew warm air in June 2015. Since the first breakdowns the air conditioner broke again in June 2015, it was making a leaking sound. Air conditioner broke again in June 2016, blowing warm air. Furnace broke twice Jan 2017, no heat. Air conditioner broke again May 2017, blowing warm air. Furnace broke again Jan 2018. And lastly, the air conditioner broke again July 2019 and I am currently waiting for a new evaporator coil. Evaporator coils are not covered under warranty so nearly $800 out of pocket. Wish I had more time in Dec 2013 to research furnace and air conditioners but when it is 20 below zero outside all I wanted at the time was heat!

Really like my new Amana High-Efficiency Modulating Variable Speed Gas Furnace (97% efficient). With fan in "on" position, it quietly circulates the air from the basement and throughout the house. I noticed the air conditioner does not kick in as often and the temperature is more consistent. No comparison to the old mid-efficiency furnace that was replaced, Amana is much better made and will reduce our Natural Gas costs.

We purchased a NEW Amana Electric range model #AER6303MFS2 11 MONTHS AGO. Heat escaping from the stove seems to be excessive when cooking. Kitchen gets uncomfortable hot. Had Amana technician check (8/24/2020) and during the heat cycle (with stove set at 350 F) stove registered (with techs instruments) a low of 328F and a high of 382F....a 54 degree swing??? Tech indicated this was normal range. This seems excessive on both ends. Spoke to Home Depot and their appliance salespeople could not confirm or deny this 54 degree range as being normal! Contacted Amana thru survey channel and have not received any response. Looking at replacing stove with another brand that has better heat control.

It has been over 2 months now that I have went without my washer. It isnt even a year old yet. First time I called Amana it was a runaround. The person I talked to was very rude, didnt even send over my information to IAM Appliance in Piqua, Ohio. So I had taken the day off work to wait for someone. When they didnt show, I called IAM and asked why no one showed. They said they didnt have any information that they were supposed to be out. So I called back to Amana and the guy I talked to was very rude and said, Looks like it wasnt sent over. So he told me I had to call another place, that he couldnt call them, I had to. So I called and no answer so I called back to Amana and they again was very rude. So finally they send my information over to IAM appliance. A week later, on Tuesday a tech came out. He looked at my washer after I had already explained what was wrong, it was the lid lock not locking, it would fill and that was it. So the next Tuesday, he came out and ordered a lid lock, the board, and another part all the parts worked but the lid lock. So here is to another week of waiting. Came out again that following Tuesday that lid lock didnt work. Each time he came out something didnt work. Then the board didnt work the new one he had replaced. This happened for over a month. So I called corporate. Talked to a lady last Monday. She said she would send me a new washer. Got my new washer today. They told me I was getting a Whirlpool but I go another Amana same model number. They took the old washer today and this washer doesnt work, it doesnt wash clothes. It fills the drum doesnt wash clothes or spin, and the lid lock works but when finished the clothes are dripping wet. So this is another lost. I will not recommended Amana or Whirlpool to anyone. Since they have been around for a while now I figured they would be a great appliance. Guess not. So now Im out of a washer and here goes to washing my clothes in the tub again!! Very unhappy!! DO NOT BUY AMANA.

Machine is a disappointment. It does not fill all the way up with water. You must put on deep wash just to do a medium load. Also, you cannot open it to fix it when during the spin cycle it gets off balance. You must turn the machine off and start over again.

This stove is really easy to use and clean. It is not like the old style where you have to lift the top to clean underneath. The oven is very easy to clean also. The burners are easy lighting and also the oven is too.

We purchased the Amana refrigerator 8 years ago from Alabama Power Company and we have multiple problems over the years. For example, the ice maker sometimes dispenses the ice and sometimes it will not. Also, we have not the water valve intake gone bad and saturated our carpets. We had replaced it at the tune of approximately $300 and time off work having to wait on the repairman. Now, once again it has gone bad and we are again waiting on a repairman. I am very disgruntled with this since we did pay good money and continue with practically a new refrigerator which should last many years.

Best bang for your buck? We have had it for 6 months and so far have had no problems and is actually huge inside and fits a lot of dishes. I do recommend the drying agent. It does work wonders. Dishes are dry without water spots.

My refrigerator had stopped working. I called Amana and gave flamingo appliances to look at it. Technician said that water got into the lines and the refrigerator could not be fixed because of rust. I dont know how rust could form in an aluminum line and combine with the refrigerant. I have a service contract with Amana and they refused to honor it, because they said rust is not covered. I do not believe the technician because he did not look too hard and try different things. He was in my house about 15 minutes and called to Amana. I called Amana and they told me they would not even reimburse me for spoiled food because rust damage is not covered. I have time left on my contract and they would not pro-rate it either and want to charge me for the service call. I have to purchase a new refrigerator, but not anything that Amana makes.

We bought an Amana Dishwasher (division of Whirlpool) Model ADB1400PYW in March of 2014. This is just to let consumers know that they should check to make sure new parts are in a new appliance. In February of 2016 we had to replace the control panel board because it was not completing a full cycle and the Clean Light would blink. We did the troubleshooting first before calling our repairman. When he removed the old control board he noticed something odd. He showed me and my husband a little sticker on the part. It said RECONDITIONED. Why was a reconditioned part in a new appliance? No wonder it broke down after not even two years of use. I called Whirlpool and they had no explanation and of course could not offer me any reimbursement because we put a replacement in. Whatever. So beware when buying an Amana appliance or any Whirlpool for that matter.

These HE washers do not work to clean your clothes. They are a joke. They are seriously horrible and do not clean your clothes at all...no matter what detergent you use, amount of water, cycle, limit the clothing items you put in, etc. They all stink and come out dirty. Do not waste your money on one of these...you will regret it.

We have had this unit for 25 years and never a minutes trouble. First one with the freezer on the bottom. Just love it. No computers, no ice maker, less things to go wrong. How much more can I say? It works great, it was a great price (at the old circuit city) and it still works great!

Amana Top Load Washer W10740545A; W10740546A - This washer was purchased from Albert Lee Appliances, Bellevue, WA, on 3/31/2015 and installed on 4/7/2015. It failed to operate for the first time on 8/5/2015. Once the appliance is installed, the customers are on their own and Albert Lee turns over repair to a company named Appliance Hospital, Seattle, WA. It does not seem like a good business decision to not also be responsible for repair for how can they gauge what products reliably serve their customers?An Appliance Hospital technician arrived on 8/7/2015, pressed the same start button that we had been engaging and the washer worked. He left with the promise that a new controller would be ordered -- not received or installed as of this date. Thus, it appears that we are involved with an intermittent failure. This does not translate to reliability concerns on the part of Albert Lee Appliances, Appliance Hospital and especially Amana-Whirlpool. Apparently, none of these businesses are concerned with the stocking of an appropriate number of repair parts locally. I would recommend that other buyers not consider doing business with the above.

Stay away from Amana. The cheap, plastic handle on my 2-year old Amana dryer broke off. I sent them an email asking them to replace it, as most reputable companies would happily do so for a customer. They took several days to respond and then asked me for the date of purchase. When I provided that date, they replied saying that they would not replace the part as the warranty had expired. They then directed me to their replacement parts webpage, where they were asking for $32.49 for a replacement part. Within 30 seconds, I found the same part being sold on Amazon for $4.99. So not only are they unhelpful, but they are trying to gouge the very customers who purchased their products in the first place. I will not be purchasing any Amana products in the future and highly recommend that you do the same.

I purchased an Amana HVAC system and in a little over a year- in the middle of summer it has broke 3 times. We have gone without an AC in Texas for 12 days. I contacted their corporate office and they were no help. I also contacted the distributor and they put me in contact with the regional tech and he told me I needed to be willing to spend some money to try to find the problem. This is unacceptable in my opinion. I am very frustrated and would never recommend this brand.

In late 2001 or 2002, I purchased a drop-in electric Amana Kitchen Range, model #ARTSC865OE. The touch pad control panel was replaced twice by the merchant where I purchased it. On the third occurrence, he suggested that I deal directly with Amana for another replacement. I used a local repair shop that replaced the panel again at my expense. Part of the local knowledge repair was to put insulation behind the front panel with the control panel and knobs to keep heat away. In addition, the high temperature crystals on the knob panel continue to break off. One repair call to replace them cost me $75 and now 2 more are broken. I assume the heat makes them brittle. Now, the top broiler element is not heating. Since this is Labor Day, were out tomorrow to replace the stove and matching microwave. It wont be Amana, Maytag etc. Also the local small business retailer that sold this to us has lost our recent appliance purchases of over $5,000.

After moving in to a new home and seeing a brand new stove installed, I was excited to get cooking. I noticed that the stove grates were bent from the middle (the grates are long and the front burner and back burner are connected on the same grate). I didnt think this would be an issue because maybe the pans/pots I use would be heavy enough to compress the grates down. I was wrong to think that and the pots/pans will slide when put on the grates because of how they are angled. I have spilled a full pan of oil (luckily not heated to a dangerous temp yet) when the pan was placed squarely in the middle of the burner and it just slid forward and off the stove top.Amana was called to try and get replacements for the brand new appliance but they told us that the bend in the grates is on purpose and they will not be fixing the danger their appliance puts us in. I now can only use the back burners (one of which is very small) or I run the risk of hurting myself with hot falling pots and pans. They are confident this is normal and are fine with the dangers. Do not buy from Amana as they will sell you a dangerous product.

I bought a Amana washer and paid over 400.00 dollars for it brand new in the box. It last 1 year before the door that automatically latches the door on top broke and on the front of the control panel its flashing and says door latch. Its going to cost me 90.00 for a new lock. If thats the problem - if not, they said its the circuit board. It cost 230.00. I will never buy another appliances under this name.

I have had this microwave for about 32 years. It is still working. Doesn't look too good because of age. Wish I could find another one that would give this type of service.

Contacted Whirlpool/Amana regarding my 95 year old mothers washing machine. She purchased in February 2014. She uses the machine once or twice a week. During the rinse cycle, the water pumps in and out at the same time. No agitation. One year warranty on machine, so the company will not replace for free. My brother and I have contacted them repeatedly with no solution.

I purchased an Amana washer model NFW7200TW in 02/2010. I had to have a repair technician come out on November of the same year - the water was not draining and the pump was not working. Now, it’s the same issue. Of course, Amana offered to sell me an extended one-year warranty for $300.00 (a little less than 1/2 the cost of the machine) since my warranty was for one year, even though it was the same issue. Ive also read where others have had the same issue. I will not deal with this company again.

Bought my Amana top-loading washer in April 2014. Most of my laundry isnt deeply soiled, so didnt think much of it for a while. However, becoming more obvious now that my clothes are not getting clean enough. I garden and have a dog, so sometimes get socks soiled and dirt on clothes when dog jumps up. My whites are not white and the soiled areas dont come out. I had my previous Whirlpool washer over 20 years and didnt have this problem. Have checked the manual to be sure Im using right detergent and loading the washer correctly, but hasnt solved the problem. I liked the price, capacity, and no-frills model of the washer I bought, but not happy with the cleaning results. Dont want to have to buy another one, and always thought Amana was a reliable brand, but I personally could not recommend to others.

I bought my washer and dryer in 2002 from Lowes. I got the Platinum Warranty. I just feel one should always get additional warranty on major purchases such as appliances. After12-13 years of having them, with VERY minor issues given the number of years I have had them, my dryer broke down beyond repair. My washing machine is still going strong though! Because of this I purchased another Amana dryer. I am very pleased with the durability of this product. When I bought the set in 2002 the salesman said they are the workhorse of washer and dryers. I can tell you after 13 years he was right! All I can find, right now, is my owners manual with the 2000 date.

Amana has more than met my expectation, in function and in appearance. I have enjoyed the bottom freezer. The only exception is the quality of the handle, broke within two years.

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned. We bought it in May of 2014 and to my dismay found that it did not fill on the rinse cycle. My clothes always had soap residue left on them. I read the manuals carefully and it did indicate that when manually adding softener, to let the rinse tub fill. It never did. We called the repairman who re-calibrated it, so supposedly it would work properly. He no sooner left when the red lock lid button started blinking. It was off-cycle again. It still does not fill. I have to go to another rinse drain cycle to rinse my clothes. My advice to anyone...DO NOT BUY AN AMANA WASHER, THEY ARE JUNK!!!

Our Kenmore Elite (made by Whirlpool) upright freezer died after 5 years. To me thats a short lifespan. We purchased a new Amana upright freezer (also made by Whirlpool) to replace it February 18, 2018 and today (June 11, 2018) now refuses to freeze anything. It runs constantly but will not freeze even though its set to deep freeze. Called for a repair which is coming tomorrow so Ill see how this plays out. Probably a nightmare. In addition and while dealing with the freezer our Whirlpool refrigerator has now also died at 9 years. Again doesnt this seem a bit short? It goes through a process that takes days to complete and weeks to get a replacement if they even agree to do that. In the meantime we have lost hundreds of dollars in food and no-one cares. I currently own an Amana French door refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. I have had these products for a little over a year and the warranty on these products is a year. Recently, my Amana dishwasher model # ADB1500AWS3 panel went out. I have used this product about 20 times. I contacted Amana customer service and they said that even though the warranty expired, they would cover the part and I would have to pay for service and labor. With that understanding, I arranged service on the dishwasher. The repair guy replaced the part for $150.00 and I got a total bill for $243.00 for service, labor, and part. I contacted Amana to ask them what the next step was to get reimbursed for the $150.00. Well long story short, Amana backed out of their word and said that they were not going to cover the part now, even though a supervisor orally agreed to cover the cost of the part. I lost a lot of trust and respect for Amana and their products today. I will never purchase another Amana product again.

I’ve been using my Amana washing machine for 8 years now; always works and washes my clothes clean every time! :-). My Amana washing machine is of the most simple of model’s made; but its always worked just perfect for my family of three people.

Seven year old expensive Amana refrigerator had extended service for five years now. Two calls in five years - total expense of $500. Service call a few weeks ago resulted in tech telling us no problem with freezer/fridge even though we experienced both were not cold. August 8, appliance not working at all, water all over the kitchen and everything in the freezer ruined. Call for appointment - because this is an emergency they will send someone out August 21. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I have wasted $500 plus the expense of the appliance. Never will I do that again and would not recommend either the appliance and for sure no recommendation on the warranty. The customer service rep was very nice, ineffective but pleasant.

I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer 4 months ago and just now moving into my house. I connected it it worked well on first wash. Now it wont spin, drain, had to unplug because it stopped in middle of wash. The sensor lights wont come on just to have a washer full of wet clothes. We tried to turn on now washer wont work. We wasted 800.00 on this set just to have to go somewhere else and purchase another set. This is ridiculous and upsetting. I am going public with our local news station for selling this mess. I was given an expensive (about $300/$400) Amana microwave last year. One year and one day exactly, it just quit. It wouldnt work, nothing. My daughter called the repair and they said theyd send out a repairman. He called to confirm the appointment and the first words were, Will this be credit, check or cash? I called the Amana company and they told me the cost would be $129 for the man to come to the house and diagnose the problem. Anything else would be extra as the warranty had expired (one day before the machine stopped working). For less than the service call, we got another brand of microwave that works just as well. If it goes out in a year, it will still be cheaper than anything Amana offers. To top this whole mess off, yesterday, about a month after the equipment failure, I got a standard form letter from Amana urging me to buy an extended warranty and the basic one year was about $60. This would have done me no good as the microwave was already broken and out of warranty. I sent a letter last night to the Amana customer service. I got another canned reply today about how good the warranty was and how sorry they were, but they couldnt apply any warranty to the old one because it had lapsed. This is an outrageous example of the planned obsolescence now in use. Amana used to be a top company up there with Maytag. My first microwave was an Amana Radarange. I bought it when they first came out and it lasted about 10 years. Now, this piece of junk that was expensive to begin with only lasted one year and one day. Amana should offer a complete refund to customers that have these problems. Ill never buy Amana again. And since Amana is now owned by Whirlpool/Maytag, Ill probably never buy them again either. How sad that American quality has gone down the drain just so the big companies can get richer at our expense.

Unfortunately, I purchased an Amana side by side with ice and water on the outside. Its a really terrible machine on so many levels.. and if I had a do over, Id have taken a hard pass. The good- It does keep things cold (basic requirement), the bad- Sounds like a B52, cheap shelving with no slide out features, lower bins with no rollers, only plastic on plastic. The water on the outside is not chilled. VERY basic front controls. No temp controls/thermometer on the outside. Awkward filter replacement location.

???? Amana Whirlpool Whirlpool Customer Care Center. The whole 4 MONTH experience to have our fridge replaced has been a joke. We have had 4 service technicians come out in order to decide we need the whole refrigerator replaced. Then it couldnt be shipped out for a whole month. Now it was supposed to be delivered today June 5th 2020 between 1:30-5:30pm. Only to be told that J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Couldnt deliver it when they scheduled to because the driver ran out of hours, not blaming the driver. I blame the company for putting too many on the load so it couldnt be delivered on a 3 day ahead scheduled appointment.It absolutely should not take 4 freaking months to get a refrigerator much less during COVID-19 putting my family in more Danger to have to go to the store more for our needs for a family of 6. Not to mention both my husband and daugthers medications have to be kept cold. THIS HAS ABSOLUTELY BEEN THE WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAVE EVER HAD WITH A WARRANTY ISSUE. We purchased a new home in 2013 and had Amana appliances put in home. We figured since Amana had been around so many years that they would be a great choice! WRONG! The washer is a nightmare! It will not spin clothes on any cycle without going into a huge across the floor thumping dance! It doesn’t matter what size load either! It simply will not spin without going unbalanced. It slams so hard it has scratched up the dryer sitting beside it! NEVER will I purchase another Amana product! From the sound of these comments, it will do no good to contact the company! I was the lucky one chosen by a bad quality control department to miss the 30-day requirement for defects. They call it a cosmetic issue. My new side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator (matching the range) has a clearly unaligned door, unaligned according to manufacturer specifications. From the top view it looks like the seals are off... One is wider in spots. However they are stating to me that it is a cosmetic issue beyond the 30-day window. And I DO HAVE PHOTOS. For AMANA to not consider this issue for what it is has been unbelievable to me. They wont replace the door... Nothing. Am I mad? I no longer consider them to be a respectable company. They would rather I have it as it is with bad quality control, using a 30-day extreme rule. So I lose.

My experience was great. I love my appliance and I had to get a new and it was the perfect price. My stove went out right before my sister baby shower and we were worried as to how we were going to cook. Went to Badcock furniture and they bought it the day before the shower.

New Amana fridge in June of 08: The ice-maker broke in November and was fixed under warranty. 6 months later (still in warranty), it stops working, but only occasionally. Stupid me should have gotten it fixed again, but it wasnt that bad. When it broke for good, the flimsy 1-year warranty (really, people?) had just ended, though it was less than a year since the first problem. I called Amana - they refused to help. I decided this was just wrong, and called to complain. After 35 minutes on hold, I got an agent who was so rude I decided to complain about her. The problem was, she refused to even give her name! I submitted this entire story on the web-based customer service portal. Weeks went by and I received no response, except I did get a solicitation in the mail to buy an extended warranty! So, my miserable customer experience is viewed by Amana as a marketing opportunity! I have read many others say the same thing. It’s shocking how American customer service values have eroded. Finally, I got their social media person over Twitter. He looked into it and refused to help. I could tell it was because he has no power to deviate from their script. Amana has it baked into their corporate culture to treat customer misery as an opportunity to make money.

I thought Id done adequate research through Consumer Reports, etc. My Amana French door refrigerator model # AFD2535FES worked fine for the first year. Then, the food compartment wasnt as cold as it should be and food began to spoil, although the food in the freezer drawer was rock solid and snow started forming on the inside. Id purchased an extended warranty, so I thought having it repaired would be a non-issue. The repairman said it was due to too much food in the freezer, so air couldnt circulate into the food compartment. He said to defrost the freezer, which I did. It seemed to work OK for two weeks and the same thing happened again--all the food spoiled again, even with minimal food in the freezer. The second repairman came out, this time he said it needed a new heating element. I waited another week for the part to arrive (more time off work) and then he returned and replaced it. Two weeks later, the same problem happened. Spoiled food again, and time off work. I am expecting the repairman later today.This fancy stainless steel behemoth is a lemon and needs to be recalled. The temp inside is 65F and makes storing food impossible. It has been a huge expense and a great inconvenience. I will never buy another Amana appliance and I will advise everyone I know to boycott their products.

I ordered and received the Amana Model AZF33X20DW03 Upright freezer in March 2020 and received it in toward the end of May 2020. The freezer cost $913.50 and lasted one year and quit freezing. There was just over $400.00 worth of food destroyed. Rona Hardware said they will not cover the freezer as it is just off warranty. Given there are really only a few appliance manufacturers globally it seems they finally cornered the market by removing the competition from the equation. How are consumers supposed to afford replacing brand new appliances on a yearly basis?

I purchased an Amana refrigerator about 2 1/2 years ago. Right after the 1 year warranty ran out, I started having problems. A strong nasty burning chemical smell was coming from the appliance and making me and everything in the house stink. Plus, the smell was making me sick, irritating my nose and eyes. The repairman replaced the relay on the compressor and told me that would take care of the problem. Well, 1 year later, we are experiencing the very same problem. The smell is so bad, I am going to have to unplug the appliance and store all the food at a friends until the repairman can get here next week. It is getting into my hair and clothes, so that I smell it all day when I am at work. I will never purchase an Amana appliance again.

If you must buy an Amana product, get an extended warranty and keep extending it for as long as you can. Unlike the folks who make these Amana products, the Assurant Solutions service protection people are a standup group. Its clear from just a little research that this product (Amana ACS3350AS) had design and manufacturing flaws from the start, including oven and broiler igniters that dont last more than a couple of years. Unsafe overheating of exterior oven surfaces. A poorly placed computer control unit that overheats with the rest of the oven. Since they stopped making the computer, less than six years after we purchased the thing, its dead. Amana argues that the California state obligation that parts be made for seven years does not apply in this case. They consider it seven years from the date of manufacture and not purchase or it seems like they are saying we didnt buy it when we bought it. Run from these people if you have a choice. The warranty company (Assurant) is paying $720.00 for the oven we spent $1,000.00 in 2006. I believe I spent $200.00 on extended warranty until 2014. No money on five repair visits. You do the math. Please keep in mind this is the same corporation that owns Whirlpool, Amana, Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Consul, Brastemp, Bauknecht and Gladiator. Collecting brands, not customers. Consider the service youll get.

It is an electric 4 burner glass or ceramic top model with a range. One of the burners has 2 settings to match the size of the pan or pot being used. The control settings can be confusing on both the stove top or the oven.

Refrigerator has unique closed seal feature. When door is closed, vacuum seal is created by small pump. Feature keeps door sealed more tightly, but sometimes difficult to open. Model has only one shelf, two shelves would be more versatile.

We bought a smooth top Amana range in October of 2015. Recently the glass top shattered...sounding like gun fire. One of the burners no longer functions. Is this a common problem? The replacement top will cost more than half of the cost of a new range.

I purchased an Amana refrigerator model AFF2534FEW3, two years ago. All of a sudden, the refrigerator is not cooling but the freezer is working. To apparently repair the controller board, it will cost me $232.00. When I purchased this refrigerator, I expected it to last a lot longer than it has and from reading other complaints, I see that it is an ongoing problem with Amana. You would think that they might recall these faulty controller boards. I will definitely not buy another Amana again and will not recommend them to anyone!

Refrigerator freezer has been keeping it cool for over 10 years and it is still keeping the food at the correct temperature. I have replaced the refrigerator door seal, and from time to time have washed the inside with warm water and liquid detergent.

My dryer of 7 years broke down so I purchased another from a different store different brand (new). The purchased was made the end of October. This dryer was terrible at drying my clothes. It took forever for one load to dry. Finally it started taking more time. Finally it went out. It had a warranty but couldnt get the company the warranty was with to fix it so the furniture store I made the purchase with sent me a new one and this new dryer isnt any good either. Slide in oven model ACS3350AS - The display turns off when baking. I saw hundreds of exactly the same complaint. The hinges were replaced without success. I contacted Amana, but they deny that this is a problem and claim that no one contacted them. I have no clue what to do anymore and plan to purchase another oven definitely not Amana. This company has the worst customer service and products.

We bought an Amana refrigerator #ABD2533DEB in Dec 2004. We have had it for 7 years. Its just 2 adults in our house, so the fridge is like new. We just paid $95 to find out the compressor is shot. The cost to repair will be $800, $300 for the compressor and $500 labor. We were told that the compressor that failed had been made in China and that there have been many issues with these compressors! We were assured that all new after market compressors are now made in Korea with far fewer issues. We lost everything in the freezer and most of the fresh food in the fridge. Amana & Maytag need to do a much better job standing behind their products! Based on what Ive read, we will never buy another Amana! We will also advise any friend looking to buy a new appliance.

Amana Gas Range AGR5630BDS - We purchased this range from Home Depot and took delivery in Dec 2014. In October 2016 the oven began to shut down after about 30 minutes cooking time and an F2 code showed in the display. Weve had the service tech here 3 times. An oven temp sensor was replaced but the problem was not solved. We then replaced the top ECR module and still the problem exists. Now however when the oven shuts down there is a spewing of natural gas and we have to manually shut the oven off and throw open a window. We are stuck with a stove that wont work and is unsafe, and we are out of about $300 over the price of the stove. We cannot sell it and are hard pressed to afford a new stove. We called Amana and they had a so what attitude. I know that we will never buy any Amana/Whirlpool product again.

The dryer stopped working right after the warranty. Replaced the motor. Still doesnt work. Replaced the fuse and again it still will not work. The only thing that I have not replaced on this pile of crap is the buzzer and that still works and its the only thing that does.

Performs satisfactorily. Outdoor unit is bit louder than expected. We built our house in 1990 in Central V. Passive solar with 6" framing and 24" of insulation in the attic, At 11 degrees F. the Auxiliary Heat never came on over the course of 4 hours.

I just purchased Amana Dishwasher Model # ADB1700ADS through HD online. As noted by another reviewer, this model has a serious engineering flaw. It does not have an exterior handle attached to the body of the door. The model has been designed so that you are forced to pull on the underside of the black plastic control panel. You can see the panel flex outward (more than .25 inches) under the pressure needed to open the door. I tried opening the door by pulling on the outer door corners and from the top edge without success. There is absolutely no question the plastic control panel will break due to material fatigue - and it will break either fast or slow depending on how often you pull on it and how hard you pull. I recommend you buy your own stainless steel door handle from any appliance parts store and install it yourself. It will cost you about $30. Amana may have saved themselves $10 (for this same part) but they will take a ding to their reputation and have a lot of unhappy customers in the future. If Amana took into consideration that in buying a dishwasher, it is not just the cost of the dishwasher for the buyer - it is also the cost of time lost from work waiting for an install that never happens within the time frame given, install fees, taxes, delivery and haul away fees. There is a lot of time, effort, and money involved in buying a dishwasher. So much so, that the buyer would not blink to pay that $10 with an upcharge to prevent the destruction of the control panel of a daily use item they dont want to have to repair or replace for years to come. As others have noted, this particular failure will not be covered under the manufacturers warranty. Otherwise, the dishwasher is noted to work properly, is better suited for a smaller family, holds fewer dishes than others of the same size, has a very long cycle, and is hoped to be of similar quality to that Amana has been noted for in the past -- with the exception of this one very serious defect. We dont really know about the quality, because it has not been out long enough to have proven itself. I would have given the dishwasher a 2.5, a 2 is too low and a 3 is too high, considering the time, effort and expense I have put into purchasing it, the day lost for install, and finding and installing a handle to safeguard the most expensive component to repair - the control panel. Once the control panel goes, it will be cheaper to buy another dishwasher than to repair it, IMO.

We bought and set up the Amana ART316TFDW in our house in October 2017. It came with a one year limited parts warranty and no option for a 3 year extended warranty. In August 2019, less than two years after purchase, the refrigerator repairman said it was leaking Freon and would be expensive to fix. He recommended buying a new fridge. Thats about the time we lost our cool too.

Great refrigerator, we have not had one problem in the eight years that we have owned our Amana side by side. The exterior has held up great especially with a move from Oklahoma back to Texas. I would definitely buy another Amana.

I bought my Amana Ntw4650yq0 washer new about 5 years ago and it wont spin. I do not recommend the 4600 series and I will never purchase another Amana product because you cant actually contact them.

Amana (made by Whirlpool) washing machine broke just after 1 year warranty had elapsed. Trying to get thru to extended warranty people with Whirlpool took 45 minutes on hold, then was told they could be there tomorrow. When local repair company (Appliance Hospital) called, they could not be out for 3 weeks. NO communication between the 2 companies. Worthless washing machine, worthless warranty, worthless company overall. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance.

I bought a new Amana washer in Feb 2014 at ABC warehouse. I had call the service tech out to my house 3 times. The last time I call bbb. ABC replace it with another Amana - I receive that one in 10/14. On 12/7/14 the machine stop washing.

I bought an Amana gas dryer less than a year ago, the paint on the inside started peeling off and messing up our clothes. So I get a hold of customer service and they tell me it dont cover anything after 30 days!!! Are you kidding me 400 dollar piece of scrap metal... stay far away from this brand - they do not support their product!!

My washer is still under warranty and I called a service representative. It was supposed to be dispatched and serviced today. The call was never made and I had to make several phone calls to reschedule. In the meantime Im having to spend an enormous amount of money at the laundromat. Amana is not giving me a refund for this huge inconvenience.

Purchased a new refrigerator that didnt work from day one. After visits from two different repairmen, we are now required to transport the fridge to the next town over so that the compressor can be replaced. After several months of dealing with their help line, I feel that it is ludicrous that we are still without a fridge and are required to arrange for this transportation ourselves. This is in a rental unit that we are unable to rent out because of no fridge. We will now be forced to purchase a new fridge because who knows how long this repair will take. I guarantee it will not say Amana or any related product name on it. GE is looking pretty good. As a side point, we have purchased at least 60 appliances from them in the last year and they still arent willing to go to do anything else for us. Cant imagine the average consumer getting any kind of relief from them.

We were very pleased with Swan - Zach and Josh went above and beyond every step of the way with explaining the installation process. We're excited with the Amana products and hope they live a long time with us (ha).

This refrigerator has been really a good one since 1993. The only complaint is that now it is falling apart. The door handle has broken apart as have some of the cabinetry inside.
