When there were manual controls, you could set a machine to do what you want and leave, knowing the wash cycle that you selected, regardless of your reasons, would do what you asked and come back knowing it was done. With the electronic controls, I must fight with the stupid machine to get it to rinse or spin as needed, fill as required, or whatever (wash really dirty gardening clothes well or wash hockey equipment). The automatic settings get it wrong regularly. Very frustrating.

We are a single couple with few loads to run. After 3 years our Amana front load washer circuit board went out. It was replaced with a three hundred dollar new one. 3 years after the replacement was installed, the replacement went haywire. This is a circuit board part that everyone says is no longer available because the manufacturer doesnt want to replace anymore. So, long story short: Original cost of new Amana front load originally: $560. Cost of first replacement circuit board $385. (Replacement part lasted 2 years). New cost to replace our Amana washer $600. New cost to haul off Amana washer $50. Wow! My total $1,595. It used to be that Amana was a great name. Ill never buy from them again.

I am really upset that I have to keep resetting this machine. I have lived in my house for 16 years and the washer I had before lasted years with no problems. Then I buy a Amana washer and have had to reset it so many times. Its terrible, the warranty dont last. Its costing me more to get it fixed than it costed in the store. Now I see why it was so cheap to buy. I am so pissed. I would not refer anyone to this product. I will never buy Amana products again.

I am writing regarding my Amana microwave AMCS101AAS purchased 4 years ago. I am really disappointed with it. The inner paint on the walls and under the plate has basically all peeled off. Now it is starting to rust around the glass in the door. It is used by a retired couple. So, it is not heavily used. But I feel the paint should not be letting go.

Dryer spews lint out from around the lint trap door. It has since we bought it and has progressively gotten worse. The lint trap door is on the top of the dryer. Whole house ends with a layer of dust every time laundry is done. Laundry room gets a nice layer of lint in it as well. Since this is a gas dryer, I have concerns about this being a fire hazard. Didnt fully appreciate the quantity of lint being spewed until after warrant was expired. Didnt contact company due to this, but it has been this way since it was delivered, just has gotten worse.

It runs water in to rinse but as soon as it fills and stops running water in, it runs the water out and spins. I have called the # for it to be repaired but we are still waiting for a repair man. I just hope it will be repaired before the warranty runs out. Dont know what else to do.

I have Amana Washer in my apartment. When I first used it I noticed my clothes werent clean so I did some research to make sure I was using the right detergent. I was using the right detergent. No water ever entered the washer. It only sprinkled the clothes with water. I had to rewash the clothes by hand to get them clean. This has gone on over a year. Management claim that they called a licensed Amana dealer. I took pictures and sent them to Amana and to the apartment managers. The apartment managers have even came out and have been aware of the machine not working. We had an outage in December and the machine now makes a terrible noise. So the guy that cleans the yard came and unplugged it. After a year of not working properly and never being fixed and now they want me to replace machine that was already damaged. The guy that works here claims he cant remember it not working. This guy stood there and actually lied. If you look at the pictures there is very little water. You have to have water to wash clothes. These were taken in January 2015.

I purchased an Amana washer model NFW7200TW in 02/2010. I had to have a repair technician come out on November of the same year - the water was not draining and the pump was not working. Now, it’s the same issue. Of course, Amana offered to sell me an extended one-year warranty for $300.00 (a little less than 1/2 the cost of the machine) since my warranty was for one year, even though it was the same issue. Ive also read where others have had the same issue. I will not deal with this company again.

We bought our Amana side by side in 1980 when we moved to our new house. I believe it is a 24.5 cubic feet. Durability...it is still working excellently and thats a sign of quality. Thats 30 years and still kicking. We never had any repair on it nor have any problem with the cooling system. The only one that gave up was the drinking water line after 15 years of drinking service to my family. Service that I have done was annually clean and vacuum the accumulated dust at the bottom of the refrigerator including clean the drain pan. Thats it. If I need to replace this old workhorse in my kitchen Ill purchase another Amana refrigerator. I shared our experience with our friends around and some of them bought this brand.

I purchased a brand new Amana 3.5 Cu. Ft. Top Load Washer with Dual Action Agitator (model NTW4516FW2) in July 2018 from Home Depot. The product has completely stopped working after just over 2.5 years of normal usage in a small household of 2 people. According to the repair representative, the controller has stopped working and needs to be replaced at a cost of more than $500 which would be more than the price paid. The product lasted less than a quarter of the expected lifespan of 12 years. A call to the company that owns Amana (Whirlpool) provided no reprieve such as a discount on a replacement purchase or credit towards other Whirlpool products.

I had my washer for barely over 2 years before it started to unbalance. Now less than 2.5 yes after purchase I have to replace it. According to the Amana repair representative for my area I needed a new balance ring and new suspension. He said the balance ring would cost over 200 dollars, but my research show the average cost being 40 dollars. However, with the price of labor the total repairs would be a minimum of 170 dollars on a machine that only cost 300. I realize this was a bargain appliance but we never overloaded it and it should have lasted longer than 2.5 years. The short life expectancy of modern appliances is ludicrous. I recommend avoiding this brand or buying the extended warranty. I just hope the dryer lasts.

I purchased a brand new stainless steal Amana refrigerator 6 months ago for 1200. The day it arrived I had issues. The doors do not line up. One door is 2 inches below the other. I called Amana and they told me this was due to a crooked house! The refrigerator sits perfectly level. Within hours we realized that the ice machine had design flaws. Water and ice cubes fail to land in the cup. Ice goes all over the floor. We have resorted to opening the freezer door and scooping ice out.About two weeks in to owning the refrigerator both of the sliding fruit and vegetation drawers were cracked. They are made of very brittle plastic. The drawers do not have castor wheels or a slide system. They just sit plastic on plastic. This causes major friction and difficulty shutting the drawers leading to them breaking. Amana offered to ship new ones but did not offer a fix. The refrigerator in the show room had extra freezer shelves and a meat cheese drawer. Mine came without them and I was told these are add on by Amana customer support. I will never again purchase an Amana product. Very dodgy craftsmanship.

Stay away from Amana. The cheap, plastic handle on my 2-year old Amana dryer broke off. I sent them an email asking them to replace it, as most reputable companies would happily do so for a customer. They took several days to respond and then asked me for the date of purchase. When I provided that date, they replied saying that they would not replace the part as the warranty had expired. They then directed me to their replacement parts webpage, where they were asking for $32.49 for a replacement part. Within 30 seconds, I found the same part being sold on Amazon for $4.99. So not only are they unhelpful, but they are trying to gouge the very customers who purchased their products in the first place. I will not be purchasing any Amana products in the future and highly recommend that you do the same.

This was a dishwasher put in by the Seller of a home I was purchasing. I am a single senior who runs a dishwasher maybe every 10 days I would say. After just 2 years, the spray arm quit spraying water. This model only has one spray arm on the bottom. Research tells me its one of two things, pump or motor I think, and either way, I might as well buy a new dishwasher. This to me is totally unacceptable that an appliance would break down in such a short period of time. Do not recommend for this reason. When it worked, it did a fine job on the dishes. But Im a scraper and rinser and never put in pots and pans etc. I just cant recommend throwing $300 down the drain.

In 2007, I purchased an electric ceramic top slide in range model acs4250-aw. It was installed in a vacation home and used four to eight weeks per year and is still in pristene condition. In July 2011, the ERC timer panel short circuited and burned, rendering the unit nonfunctional. We have made extensive inquiries through the internet and through other sources by phone and have failed to find a replacement panel which we come to find is no longer available. After talking to Whirlpool Corporate Office, as a last resort, we were advised unceremoniously and without the least attempt to appreciate our dilemma that the part was no longer available, and that they had no process to mount a search for this part and that there was nothing they could do to help. So, we had purchased a $1800.00 plus range bearing the AMANA name which is now useless except to hang towels on. We will never buy a product from the Whirlpool group of companies again.

About a year ago, I purchased an Amana oven, microwave, and dishwasher. Granted, all three were on the economy end of the model spectrum. I have issues with all three. The oven door on after only 4 months started to bind opening and closing. Also, the plastic trim around the oven handle also is cracked and continues to get worse. I called Amana thinking I could get it repaired within the 1 yr. warranty. I was told that the oven door repair is not covered because it does not affect the functionality of the appliance. Really? I think the door has quite a bit to do with the functionality of an oven. Regarding the microwave, the door, also cracking off the plastic trim around the window part of the door. Thirdly, the dishwasher upper rack keeps falling off the track because end bracket on the left side often comes unsnapped. These design (or should I say misdesigned) elements of Amana products should not be occurring. Especially after only a few months of use. Oh, by the way, after my 1 yr. warranty expired a couple months ago, I received a card offering to extend my warranty. You have to be kidding! I have sold my home and I will not have to be living with these inferior Amana appliances for long. I will never purchase an Amana appliance ever again. I used to think made in America meant something.

I was given an expensive (about $300/$400) Amana microwave last year. One year and one day exactly, it just quit. It wouldnt work, nothing. My daughter called the repair and they said theyd send out a repairman. He called to confirm the appointment and the first words were, Will this be credit, check or cash? I called the Amana company and they told me the cost would be $129 for the man to come to the house and diagnose the problem. Anything else would be extra as the warranty had expired (one day before the machine stopped working). For less than the service call, we got another brand of microwave that works just as well. If it goes out in a year, it will still be cheaper than anything Amana offers. To top this whole mess off, yesterday, about a month after the equipment failure, I got a standard form letter from Amana urging me to buy an extended warranty and the basic one year was about $60. This would have done me no good as the microwave was already broken and out of warranty. I sent a letter last night to the Amana customer service. I got another canned reply today about how good the warranty was and how sorry they were, but they couldnt apply any warranty to the old one because it had lapsed. This is an outrageous example of the planned obsolescence now in use. Amana used to be a top company up there with Maytag. My first microwave was an Amana Radarange. I bought it when they first came out and it lasted about 10 years. Now, this piece of junk that was expensive to begin with only lasted one year and one day. Amana should offer a complete refund to customers that have these problems. Ill never buy Amana again. And since Amana is now owned by Whirlpool/Maytag, Ill probably never buy them again either. How sad that American quality has gone down the drain just so the big companies can get richer at our expense.

Last year I purchased a new Amana washer and dryer for our home. I chose to buy new because of the factory warranty included with new appliances. I was sadly mistaken to believe that Amana would honor this warranty. I was told that even though we live about 30 to 40 minutes outside of the largest city in state of Oklahoma, there are no service providers in my area! This means that I have two choices, I can either find a way to transport my broken washer to an approved service provider at my own expense, or I can pay a local repairman and be reimbursed up to $150.00 in about 6 weeks. These are my options?!! My washer is brand new, why should I have to pay when its still under warranty? I have no way to transport my washer! Its huge. I would have to rent a truck twice to drop it off and pick it up. My only option is to pay for the repair and wait over a month to be reimbursed. I asked them why they would only repay me $150.00 if repairs cost more than that, but I was only told that it shouldnt cost over that amount. So now I have to go a family members house to wash school clothes for my daughters and decide which utility bill can wait so I can fix my NEW washing machine. My advice, dont buy Amana, they will not stand by their warranty unless its convenient for them. I will never buy from them again.

The Amana is an 18.5 cu.ft refrigerator. Its a year old and works well. I bought it for two reasons: a) a Bottom freezer and the height being less than 65 inches to fit under cupboards. It works well so far. Not noisy to disturb ones concentration. This would be my third fridge in 43 years. Im not hard on them.

I purchased a new Amana stove for a rental property in GA at the beginning of Sept. It has NEVER worked. When I called they said they could only speak to the tenant, when she called it was past the 48 hours of delivery and since I didn’t get the warranty they would have someone come out and repair it... ok fine. The company was a no-show and no call twice. Then I get a letter from the GA housing authority that I am required to have a working stove within two days. I was forced to purchase a second stove for the renting family. I called and called Amana to pick up the useless stove and credit my account. They were extremely rude on the phone and refused to take it back. Not when I call the new repair company told me it would be fixed the day after Thanksgiving, following up today they now say the part is on backorder until next month. This will be three months now that I purchased the stove and fortunately am paying zero interest on through HD. I cannot believe the lack of customer service with Amana. I will NEVER EVER do any business with them again!!!

Since the purchase of the Amana fridge, installed 4/2014 has been repaired 3 times and now the icemaker has failed again. Called to schedule a repair and was told that the policy has been cancelled for non-payment. The extended warranty and unit are paid in full at the time of purchase! Of all the appliances Ive owned in the last 45 years, this is undoubtedly the worst of the bunch. Am I required to go through the hassle of making a copy and sending it to prove the warranty is still in force? No! What a runaround! DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA PRODUCTS! Unless you want a lemon and have to make your own ice. To date, the water pump and icemaker has been replaced. 1st replacement of the icemaker was put in wrong and had to have service tech come back to fix that issue.

I bought a new Amana washing machine seven months ago. I was doing laundry then went about my business, when I returned my laundry room floor was flooded with about eight inches of water. I hurried and grabbed a pot and after about a hundred trips from that room to the toilet, I finally had the water down enough to let my dehumidifier do the rest. I have issues with my arm and that being said I have been in much pain since. It was still under warranty so I had it fixed. I was only told a button went out. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Poor quality.

6/4/2015 - The lid on my less-than-2-month-old Amana washer breaks, and I call customer service. The rep is extremely apologetic and tells me someone will be out on 6/9/2015 to fix it and that they will call the day prior to confirm. 6/8/2015 - Sadly, no call is ever received. 6/9/2015 - I call the service company to inquire as to whether anyone is coming to look at my washer. Their response was, Nope, we were given the wrong phone number by Amana, so when we couldnt reach you, we had to cancel. I then call Amana back, confirm that they do in fact have the wrong phone number, correct that issue (or so I thought) and try to get another appointment scheduled. After two hours of stubborn resistance, I manage to get an appointment scheduled for 6/10/2015.6/10/2015 - Repairman looks at my washer, and after five minutes, pinpoints the issue and tells me hes going to need to order a part. He then says that he should have no trouble getting the part by 6/12/2015. 6/12/2015 - The day comes and goes without incident. 6/15/2015 - I call the service repair company who tells me that the part is on back order and wont be available until at least 6/30/2015. Later, I call Amana yet again, correct my phone number for the second time (see, I was getting back to that) and try to see if theres another resolution. The customer service rep I am speaking with tells me, it is what it is, and that this is the best she can do. I ask to speak to her supervisor, who I am then transferred to, who tells me that he, in fact, cannot do anything to help expedite the process either, but that someone might be calling me in 3-5 business days to let me know about the part.At this point I ask, So youve made a defective product, incorrectly recorded my information at least twice, caused me to miss one service appointment due to negligence and have yet to accept any responsibility for the situation at hand... How is this an acceptable resolution? After a pause, he says,so yeah, in like three to five business days, someone might be calling you about that part... Dumbfounded, I hung up and rage-devoured a cheeseburger to help me cope with my lack of progress, ironically spilling ketchup on my pants in the process. I might be able to at least attempt to get the stain out in somewhere around 3-5 business days.

I have enjoyed the washer and dryer for the 8 years I have had them. The part that I am very unhappy with is the cost of the parts to fix the problems I have had; heating element that cheapest was one appliance store for $75 (rest online and other store was over $100), worked two times drying clothes then stopped working with going around. Told probably the belt, but again no belts around and had to be ordered, and also told from all appliance stores that old being $56 is higher than other dryers. The belt was not needed so not opened so will be seeing if I can have my money back for it. Told its either the door switch, that would be $25.99, or the board that would cost $200.80. Again, I enjoyed the way it was, but the cost to fix the problems is higher than buying a new one. Very unhappy to spend so much time and so much money along with being told having to order parts shows it is happening quite a lot from owners; annoying and unhappy.

First and foremost DO NOT PURCHASE AMANA anything!!! I made that huge mistake when purchasing my oven and bottom freezer refrigerator in 2004. Compressor was dead within 5yrs of purchase. The stove was and is a nightmare!! Of course this stove is no longer made and good luck trying to find parts. This stove retail was approximately 1100.00 middle of the road price but for all the error codes it throws out, it makes one think how dumb was I to even THINK about buying this model or brand!!Replaced two oven sensors, temp regulators now door does not shut correctly therefore heat escapes from oven and get ready because when that happens the timer/clock control board melts!!! Really???!!! AMANA is blind to this and will ignore all of your complaints!!! You might as well just hold a match to your money when it comes to AMANA!! One will have difficulty finding parts for a discontinued model on anything but this is how AMANA conducts business!!! I totally understand with time all things need to be replaced and simply run its course. However, 4 to 5 yrs life expectancy is max on all AMANA anything! Just tell yourself AMANA is no longer being made and save yourself the aggravation.

I purchased this fridge 9/2010, and the compressor is already shot. I see from other complaints that compressors have been a problem, but Amana Whirlpool has done nothing to help out customers (unless they agreed to the extortion of the extended warranty). I guess Amana Whirlpool is only for people who can afford to buy major appliances every year or pay huge repair bills as soon as the product is out of warranty, or pay for protection (does this remind anyone else of bribing cops to do their job?). My previous fridge was an Amana. my next will not be.Ive lost work time, food, and money. Its odd when the automated recording asks if youve had the product for longer than 12 months, and then asks if you purchased the extended warrant. And you said yes to the first and no to the second, why dont they just disconnect you? They wont do a thing to stand behind their products, even when they know that a less-than-two-year-old fridge should not need a new compressor. They have no pride in their product (I see why now), and they surely have no concern with customer service or satisfaction.

We purchased the Amana refrigerator 8 years ago from Alabama Power Company and we have multiple problems over the years. For example, the ice maker sometimes dispenses the ice and sometimes it will not. Also, we have not the water valve intake gone bad and saturated our carpets. We had replaced it at the tune of approximately $300 and time off work having to wait on the repairman. Now, once again it has gone bad and we are again waiting on a repairman. I am very disgruntled with this since we did pay good money and continue with practically a new refrigerator which should last many years.

Amana Wide Dryer - I have purchased the dryer less then 50 days ago and the timer is already bad. This is the customer service ladys response after I say the timer is bad and they still have to order the part so it will be a few more days before it is fixed. I have already had to go to the laundromat once because 5 people live in my home and 2 of them are boys that are 8 years old. It has cost me more money at the laundromat than it does on my electric bill in 2 months. Im sorry but if you spend hundreds of dollars on something, it should work more then 50 days and you should understand not everyone can afford $40 twice a week to go to the laundromat. I will never ever purchase a appliance from Whirlpool (Amana) again after the way I was treated on the phone today. Her best response is We are gonna fix it. Its under warranty. Well yeah duh, I paid for a warranty. On the plus side, ABC Warehouse was so embarrassed that they gave me a extra year warranty on them. Sad I wont be telling my friends anything nice about you company but ABC is tops at customer service. Maybe Whirlpool employees need a course. I bought the set at Menards April 2016. The washer is absolutely awful. It never gets the clothes clean, never! Ive tried all the recommended steps Amana added to the instructions. Im so disappointed. I will never buy an Amana or Maytag product again. Yesterday I went to take clothes out of the dryer and I havent had an issue with the dryer until I pulled the door open and the handle on the dryer broke.I felt when I was making this purchase that Amana was a trusted brand. So I didnt listen to my feelings and I bought this product anyway. Money dont come easy for me so Im stuck using this monster that dont get whites, white and wont fill with water according to my load. All the complaints on this website are true. In July or 2015 I purchased a side by side ref from a small dealership. The ref was delivered 1st part of Aug. Called dealer a few days later stating ref was not working properly - wasnt making enough ice and cubes were small. Dealer came out and adjusted ice maker. Called back few days later requesting my money back. Still having issues with ice maker and ref was sweating and dripping moisture on panel between ref and freezer. He came out again said a cardboard panel had to be replaced in back of ref. Also stated getting my money back was not an option as he was not going to be stuck with a used ref. When he returned with cardboard panel he found out that they had sent wrong replacement part. After that he would no longer come out and refused to take my calls. So I began calling Amana direct. I first asked for my money back since the ref was less than 30 days old when I started having trouble. I was told that my warranty only covered repair or replacement. They arranged for a repairman to come out.In Sept. the ref was deemed unrepairable and a replacement was ordered and arrived Oct. 8. Within a week or so I was again calling Amana. This ref was not cooling properly. Ice was forming on inside wall of freezer and ref compartment was too warm. To keep this from going on forever let me say 2 repair companies and at least 8 repair trips later this 4 month old ref is still not working. One person from Amana suggested that I just keep my food in another ref. All the other representatives sympathized with me and called to schedule a repair appt. All I can say is that this ref is poorly designed and Amana Makes JUNK. I will never buy another Amana product and I am sorry I paid cash for this one.

We purchased an Amana washing machine. I noticed that there was a bad odor in my utility room that was so strong it even came out in the other parts of the house at times. We had no idea where the odor was coming from. We check the septic system thinking maybe that may be where it was coming from and even had the septic pumped out. Still the odor kept coming and we could not figure out where the odor was coming from. Then we noticed that the water was not draining all the way out of the washing machine. It just sits in there because it does not spin out all of the water. I tried to get repairs done on the machine but they would not do anything because they said my warranty had run out. Two years ago my washing machine died. I bought it used and had it for 17 years. Out of necessity, I purchased the Amana top load he washing machine. It does a terrible job cleaning the clothes and now makes a metal on metal grinding noise when agitating. On my old machine I replaced the clutch in the transmission by myself (6 years before it finally died, Im female and now 50+ yrs. old), on this new Amana, I cant even get the agitator off to even begin diagnosing the problem. We purchased this washer on 11/11/10 because my washer finally let go after 18 years of wonderful service. I have had A&E at my house 6 times to fix this washer the main problem was it was chewing up and shredding my clothes and leaking then the seal around the door would come off that has been replaced multiple times. The mother board and transmission also have been replaced. Now 15 months after I purchased this machine and 6 visits later, it has happened again. The machine has ruined my daughter’s brand new coat along with my postal uniform. I have finally become angry so I call up my extended warranty (thought it was a good idea to get an extra 4 years of coverage just in case). The woman I spoke to was very nice and actually tried to get me a brand new washer but because I only used the extended warranty once, I have to give them another chance to fix it before she can do that. So she scheduled me an appointment with electronic services. The gentleman calls me and asked me what was going on with the washer. I give him all the details and he tells me it is an ongoing problem with that model and they made a replacement part for the one that has been broken so he went and ordered it. The next morning, he called me just a surprised as I am to tell me that the warranty department has denied the claim. Wow! So I call back Home Depot warranty dept and tell her what is happening now. So as of right now, it’s a waiting game. She is calling corporate to see what they can do for me. So hopefully Home Depot does the right thing and stands by their sale since Amana was nothing but nasty to me and very unhelpful through this whole thing. My next step is contacting an attorney and finding other who has received the same outcome because then we can go after Amana full force.

Hello my roommate bought a used Amana washer because the other Amana washer didnt work. She paid 200 for it... And found out it didnt spin. So she spent 100.00 more. Then the door would not close for it to turn out. She arranged for another certified Amana repair guy to come... He traded the door with other broken machine. The door closed and it turned on. He did not stick around long enough to hear the spin cycle sounding like a helicopter... And still delivered your clothes on the wet side and not very well washed. So 450.00 later we still have a broken Amana washing machine and the repair man said he fixed the door problem and it would cost more for him to look at any other problem. Its heavy but if I can I will throw it in the trash... Or put it online for salvage. Expensive lesson. Never buy another Amana after the first one broke down? But no one asked me...

On November 23, 2011, my 2007 Amana French door, bottom freezer refrigerator model # AFI2538AES began making a loud popping noise, touch pad panel lights flashing, and cooling stopped. The popping noise was from the ice maker flap opening and closing. The HV board needs replaced, Whirlpool Manufacturer #12920710. I contacted Amana to order the part. The service rep said it is on backorder until February because they have been pulled from the shelf and are being revamped. When I asked if the part would be covered by Amana, since a part needing revamped was essentially defective, I was told no. Requested to speak with supervisor, who states she didnt know where I had heard that the part is being revamped but occasionally, they have difficulty finding manufacturers to produce parts and was certain this was the circumstance. I was told there were no other complaints like mine documented. Amazingly, however, the supervisor was able to locate the backordered part, which the service rep, the parts department and two independent repair shops were unable to find. I expressed my concern that the part found, only three in stock, may be leftover from the stock requiring revamping, rather from the previous manufacturer and not of the same quality of the part which may be produced and available in February. I suggested they reimburse for the part. They declined. I suggested they reimburse should the replacement part need replaced. They declined. I thought of more suggestions but didnt feel they were appropriate to express. Whirlpool/Maytag/Amana should recall the bottom freezer refrigerators with the HV board #12920710 due to defective or faulty part or incompatibility with these refrigerator models.

In December of 2003, I purchased a drop-in Amana range model #ACS4250. The oven recently abruptly stopped heating. The repairman informs me that the part needed to repair the oven (electronic control #77001240) has been discontinued.Who does that? Who discontinues parts? I called Amana and they helped me immensely. They connected me with the sales department. I dont think so.I am an 81-year-old woman who takes extraordinary care of my appliances. This range looks as though it should be on the showroom floor and now it’s junk. The only help I got from Amana was an offer to sell me a new range or a suggestion to call around and try to find someone else who might have that part lying around.By the way, I spent most of the afternoon on the telephone doing exactly that – all to no avail. That part cannot be found. Amana should be ashamed. One of the persons I talked to actually had the nerve to tell me that I needed to understand that this is The wave of the future. I have wanted a 2-stage HP for years so when our 22yo 10SEER AC was nearing EOL, we jumped at the opportunity for a high-performance unit. My expectations have been exceeded: We love the dehumidification feature, the ECM air handler is able to reach the furthest corners of our house, I have to go outside to check if the condenser is running sometimes even though the unit is right outside our kitchen window, and the heat pump uses ~1kW less electricity while in the 2nd stage than our old unit. ComfortNet/Bridge took some learning but if you have patience and like to read then you'll be tuning your system in no time. Honestly, I ended up going back to many of the defaults because the whole setup is already quite efficient. We recently had a few <50F mornings so I have also been able to test the heat in action and am now looking forward to a cold winter to really stretch the system's legs!

Read the small print of warranty exclusions. Who would think a rusting stainless steel finish is not covered on a stainless steel appliance? Our $1200+ Amana AFD2535FES 12 refrigerator started showing signs of rust about two years after we purchased it. Research shows that this can be a problem if inferior stainless steel is used. Customer Service said to try to clean with warm soapy water and a t-shirt. If that didnt work we had to call a service agent at our expense. I have other stainless steel appliances (GE) that do not have any rust and they are much older, in the same room and I clean them the same way. It is ironic because I thought GE was a cheaper made product so intentionally purchased an AMANA thinking it was better quality.

It is too cramped, much of the size is on the outside, not the inside. The shelves are inadequate and the inner construction of both shelves and drawers is flimsy. The real problem is my better half has looked at alternatives and they are no better. I could best call it all flash and no fire.

The brand new stove made noises and no one helped me with a repair visit. After a long time on hold a technician was suggested and the person refused to come look at the range. I had to call the store and spent a lot of time trying to find someone who would help. The store would not replace the range even though it was brand new.

I purchased an Amana HVAC system and in a little over a year- in the middle of summer it has broke 3 times. We have gone without an AC in Texas for 12 days. I contacted their corporate office and they were no help. I also contacted the distributor and they put me in contact with the regional tech and he told me I needed to be willing to spend some money to try to find the problem. This is unacceptable in my opinion. I am very frustrated and would never recommend this brand.

This refrigerator functions properly and over time is reliable. HOWEVER, corners have been clearly cut in quality of the exterior handles (fridge and bottom freezer) which have seriously yellowed, making it a complete and embarrassing eyesore in my kitchen!! I no longer consider Amana a trusted brand and will not purchase any Amana appliances going forward. Customers beware!! I find it especially appalling that the yellowing of course occurs outside of any warranty period = Amana is all about profit at the expense of the customer... short sighted, penny-wise and pound-foolish for such an established brand. Amana - fool me once but never again!

We purchased an Amana ref from our local appliance store in the Renton Highlands, a model A9RXNGFYW. In 2011, during its warranty, we called store about the overheating problem. Told that needs to be addressed to the Amana people. Called them. They say this is normal operations. Now I am talking about heat that burns when you touch anyplace around the freezer seal & side of fridge. Just want to hear if anyone else has this problem. Thank you.

My washer has pre-set programmed settings for the water level! My clothes barely get wet and the washer stops adding water and starts washing! I bought the washer approximately 4 years ago! It is almost useless! I have to add water by hand and I wash certain items twice! My washer leaks periodically as well. Had repairman come and he told me I had to tell him where it was leaking from to be FIXED. So we couldnt get it to leak while he was here so it was never fixed and still leaks! He also said there is no way to change the pre-set water levels! Thank God my washer is in the garage or my house would have been flooded dozens of times! Jax, Fl D.

The organization I represent purchased 224 Amana/Goodman PTAC units in 2013, we have had nothing but issue after issue with this product since installation. Blown fuses, wiring issues, incorrect fuse holders, etc... Now there is a product recall on 160 of the units, we submitted the application and Amana sent us the parts to perform the upgrade ourselves. When I called the phone number provided for the recall they tell me to contact Amana in regard to the labor. When I contact Amana they tell me apply online. I would not recommend purchasing any product from this organization.

I was coming down the stairs to get my son a bottle at 6:00 AM and heard a strange noise. As I walked into the living room, it was filled with a foul smelling smoke. I yelled and woke up my father who came running down the stairs. My father unplugged the fridge from the wall and put the fire out. Our slate flooring is burnt, and my son and I had mild smoke inhalation. It has been over a month and we are waiting for parts to cover the repair or they will give us $200 for a new fridge. Our fridge was older but, just like most everyone else, it was the compressor that failed. I think Amana needs to recall their refrigerators and come up with a new design.

I purchased an Amana Washer and Dryer from McKinneys Appliance in September 2014. Sometimes it works - but more often it does not. It does not clean the clothes, but it does get them wet. I put a load in, press the start button, and it sits there - finally a ding and the door locks and the cycle goes directly to spin - and no water in the tub. The circuit board has been replaced twice - the repair lasts one month, and the problem comes back again. I contacted Amana and waited 6 weeks for a repair person from Appliance Repair - the company was in another city.

After just six years, the Amana refrigerator metal shelf supports have totally rusted. When I contacted Amana, they said that they would not cover it under warranty. It will cost over $160 to get new ones. This is not a quality product and Amana is certainly not a company that stands behind its products. Compared to the issues I see other people are having, I guess I am lucky. No more Amana refrigerators in my future. (The attached photo is upside but youll get the idea.)

Amana Gas Range AGR5630BDS - We purchased this range from Home Depot and took delivery in Dec 2014. In October 2016 the oven began to shut down after about 30 minutes cooking time and an F2 code showed in the display. Weve had the service tech here 3 times. An oven temp sensor was replaced but the problem was not solved. We then replaced the top ECR module and still the problem exists. Now however when the oven shuts down there is a spewing of natural gas and we have to manually shut the oven off and throw open a window. We are stuck with a stove that wont work and is unsafe, and we are out of about $300 over the price of the stove. We cannot sell it and are hard pressed to afford a new stove. We called Amana and they had a so what attitude. I know that we will never buy any Amana/Whirlpool product again.

I purchased my refrigerator 4 years ago. Today, (bottom) freezer quit. I called the original store for info; 4 years old so it’s out of warranty. I called another service company - more than the first. I sought Amana online and called toll free. They confirmed there is nothing they can do due to past 1 year warranty. I called my friend who bought the same fridge; she had the same problem and invested much money into fridge, which never worked correctly. I then found many customers online having the same problem at 4 years; compressor quits! This should not be with a new fridge. I called the Amana toll free number back and asked to speak to a manager. I spoke with Sherri, ID# **. After putting me on hold, she advised she would sell me an extended warranty for $392.39 to fix the freezer! This should not be; I told her I should pursue a class action suit as many customers have had the same complaint.

I bought an Amana side by side refrigerator in March and it didnt work at all. Got it replaced in April and the compressor died by July so they put in a new compressor that never worked. Now they want to put in another compressor that will probably not work either. 3 weeks without a refrigerator and I cant afford to go out to eat all the time. The only thing worse than their products is their customer service whose policy seems to be too bad, well get it fixed sometime...maybe! Do not buy an Amana!

I purchased a new Amana Dishwasher at BrandsMart on February 28, 2015. Had the dishwasher installed, used it a couple of times, dishwasher wont turn on at all. Couldnt take it back to the store because of the cost of installing, uninstalling, etc. Less than a month after purchase, I called Amana Service. They dont have their own service department/technicians, they subcontract with local repair companies. I got assigned Flamingo Appliance. It is now almost one month from the time I called in for a repair and still have no working dishwasher. Major board has to be ordered, part takes forever to arrive. Day before installation appt., Flamingo calls to cancel, part damaged. It goes on and on. STAY AWAY FROM AMANA and also stay away from BrandsMart. This is the second [and last] appliance I purchased there and had problems with right away. Something just isnt right with all of this. Obviously brand new appliance is defective.
