I purchased a stackable LG washer in June, 2013 and it died in January 2018. The hardware holding up the drum broke, and the estimated cost to repair was $600. Since a new machine was priced at $825, it wasnt worth it. The customer service department was very rude and not helpful at all.

New LG Washer Never worked. Leaks and jumps around in spin cycle. This new washer has never successfully washed one load of clothes. The first time we tried to wash a load of clothes, it flooded our washroom. When it entered it spin cycle, it jumped around on the floor and hit the dryer. We contacted Home Depot (where we purchased it along with matching dryer and extended warranties). They immediately started putting us off on a repair shop, LG, and had the delivery company insurance take responsibility for the flooding. The repair shop is so busy that we were not able to get an appointment for 3 weeks. They have tried to repair this washer four times UNSUCCESSFULLY. Each time it takes two to three weeks for the next service appointment.LG does not want to bear any responsibility for producing a faulty, dangerous washer. Each time we try to speak with them they never return calls or put us off on Home Depot, who put us off on them and the Repair company. This is a new Washer that has never washed a load of clothes with an extended warranty. This has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and the fact that it has come from two major Companies (LG and Home Depot) is really surprising. Note: we have another appointment scheduled a week from now (some progress). Washer - WM3370HRA, Dryer - DLEX3370R.

I am so fed up with my two LG front load washers which I purchased in August, 2006. 1 1/2 years ago the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer. Six months ago, the hot water valve had to be replaced in #2 washer. Today the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer again. I paid over $2,000.00 for these washers. Doesnt anything last more than 4 years? Next time Im buying top loading, cheap washers so when they break, I will just throw them out and buy new ones.

The LG steam washer I purchased about 3 years ago has been problematic and I would strongly advise against purchasing one of these units. The malodorous tub in this front loader is likely secondary to the water retention within the gasket Despite leaving the door open to dry, something unnecessary in any top loader, the musty black mildew persists! Obviously an engineering design flaw, the tub cannot empty completely. Despite leveling this machine on a concrete floor with the drawer pedestal, the machine shakes and rattles and dances over the concrete floor. The machine will never stay in one place despite attempts to keep it there irrespective of load weights. This machine is a piece of junk and LG will not listen to these complaints. Waste of money should have bought the Miele. All of their products are superbly German engineered! Please enlist a class action suit. The trailing entries are testament to the litany of problems.

I cannot believe I have been duped by LG - I have had one problem after another with this refrigerator (LFXS29766S) that cost $2884.00 and was purchased in April 2015. Worked fine for almost a year. I called Home Depot where it was purchased when the ice and water on the door failed. They said, too bad it was 13 months after purchase and they only cover up to 12 months. Water failed again and had to be fixed. Now, it stopped cooling and no fan. Every service repair company turned me down to work on this fridge because they are notorious for being as one said crappy - needless to say, I am a very unhappy person and will NEVER by an LG appliance again. (I have a LG TV and dishwasher so they have lost a loyal customer.)

I owned LGs LFX23965ST for about 18 months. For the last 6 months, the ice machine has not worked. It started diminishing in ice production and then just quit completely. I have tried resetting the default temps, unplugging for several minutes and replugging, changing the filter, and verifying the water supply line, but nothing helps. Water dispenses normally, but the ice maker is a complete flop. Then I read about how another customer was thrilled at LG sending a tech to his place to replace the motherboard that operates the ice maker (amongst other things Id imagine) because this problem is one that LG has known about for some time. Yet to me, they simply replied that there was nothing I could do and that I needed to schedule an appointment. So lets see. Should I continue using my 50 cent ice tray in the freezer or call in their $150/hr tech? Hmm. If this had happened to a car maker, theyd recall it and make good on repairs. LG? Never again will I buy this companys appliances.

The factory replaced the motherboard (main circuit board) only because of a national recall, which I never was made aware of. The tech said the repair wouldnt solve the control problems and I would have to make an appointment for that repair and pay for the parts and service call. I purchased my refrigerator in 2017. Sometime between July 13 - 24th 2021 (I was on vacation) my refrigerators compressor failed. The refrigerator is still under factory warranty and, I have additional extended warranty. I have spent the last month since July 24th trying to get a replacement/reimbursement for my refrigerator because the service technician they sent out deemed my refrigerator a BioHazard due to the food decomp in the freezer that was kept at room temperature for the compressor fail date until we returned on the 24th.Claims has tried to force a settlement for me to take. That is more of an insult than an offer. Less than half of what was paid for it. This refrigerator was part of a class action lawsuit for the exact reason mine failed and they will not adhere to their own settlement. My opinion is to not purchase an LG. I wish I had purchased a different suite of appliances. Hindsight is always 20/20. Pray you dont have to call. I have to stay on wait to get through for 1 - 2 hours.

All 5 stove control knobs have melted and deformed because they are plastic and located directly above the oven. I’ve used the oven once. Don’t buy LG appliances.

I have a 2 year old white French door refrigerator on which much of the plastic has yellowed: ice maker surround and trim on doors and drawers. As others have reported, we now have expensive ugly refrigerators and LG refuses to correct the problem, calling it cosmetic. I wonder how many LG execs would happily live with this cosmetic problem. Good plastic does not yellow; vinyl fences look great for many years despite constant exposure to sunlight when they are made of UV-resistant vinyl. LG just made a serious error in plastic selection and does not care enough about their customers to fix it or rebate our cost. So I am reminded every day why I will never buy another LG product and will tell everyone I can to stay away from LG.

I wouldnt recommend anyone buy an LG product after what my husband & I have been through. We bought the refrigerator in 2007 and have probably had Sears out to work on it at least 12 times. We kept paying for the repair agreement because it became obvious very quickly that it was a LEMON! We have had the motor go out once and lost all the food in it. They have replaced the side of the door with the dispenser on it once...the motherboard 7 times. We lost all the food in it again a few months ago. Today was the third time in three weeks they have come out and arent sure what the problem is. It just stops running and you have to unplug it, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. LG always tells the technician to replace something on it and it never works. Today they said to put on another door & a new power cord. We have stopped storing meat in the freezer because we are afraid the refrigerator will break down again and we will lose it all. We store it in the 30 year old refrigerator in our basement that has never had to be worked on! We paid a lot of money for this refrigerator and could have bought at least one more with all the money we have paid in repair agreements. There should be no question that we should get a new refrigerator. But they dont want to do that because now its old! They spend more money fixing this than they would giving us a replacement. It makes no sense at all! If you are looking for a new refrigerator I suggest you steer clear of LG. I wont own anything again with LG on it!

Ive had two 30+ cubic ft LG french door refrigerators in the last 1.5 years. Both completely failed within 6 months. The first had 5 to 6 weekend repairs before it was replaced. No food reimbursement for loss of over 500 in food. The second had 3 sealed component fail in the first year as well. Sears finally refunded my money and I went with Whirlpool. 6 of 7 LG Customer service representatives were rude and completely lacked empathy. I wrote corporate a 3 page letter and they never responded. Life is NOT good with LG! I will never buy any LG product going forward because I got such a bad taste of their customer service. I wouldnt even consider a Kenmore Elite, which I really wanted.

The stove sensors were broken from time received and never fully repaired. The oven overheats and the temperature is not accurate. The refrigerator’s water to ice maker cracked and flooded the kitchen. They dont make replacements because “they dont break”. The shelves are flimsy and cracks easily. The dishwasher’s motherboard fried after 1 year, and they refused any compensation.

I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010CW washer for years now. I went through the mold issue and solved it with common sense. Im not disparaging anyone here with mold issues but these suggestions fixed my issue which was minor in comparison.Clean out the filter at the bottom of the machine; then run a clean cycle with a cup of vinegar. Pour it into the dispenser for detergent, not the bleach dispenser. When the cycle is done, re-clean the filter and wipe out interior with vinegar. Get out the goop manually. Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe out the entire compartment with vinegar. Allow to air dry overnight leaving out the drawer. Replace the drawer and run a rinse to remove the vinegar. Quit using fabric softener or dryer sheets and switch to an unscented powder detergent. You need to be able to smell the machine. Use 2 tbsp. per load for moderate water, 1 if your water is soft. Adjust up or down as needed from there. Fill the softener compartment with white vinegar. Run an extra rinse on every load to work on the buildup. If you are using scented detergent and its still strong-smelling after the cycle, it isnt rinsing out. To monitor rinsing, add a gallon of water through dispenser drawer during rinse cycle, or more if needed, to see water. If detergent isnt rinsing out, either the oil or dirt is in your clothes. Do this for a month or so as every load of clothes will be reintroducing mold to your machine. Fabric softener is made from animal fat and will get rancid and breed mold. It also leaves fatty, greasy residue on your clothes that detergent must cut through. Detergents are alkaline so the mold in your washer needs that environment. The vinegar is a mild acid. Once your washer is back to normal and you have detergent dosage worked out, use a max of a tbsp. of softener or mix softener (50/50) with vinegar. The clean cycle on your washer is for maintenance. It isnt designed to eradicate a major problem. It took awhile for the machine to get in such bad shape and it will take time to fix it.

Lg has a reputable service and quality and that is why I picked it as a brand for my fridge and Im looking to get other products with LG brand because I trust it. It is big and provides a lot of room for sodas and other tall containers. I have plenty of room to hold food and not worry about the food falling or busting on other containers. It also has plenty of room for fruits and vegetables. I would like to improve the way the refrigerator is divided among the shelfs inside, even though its roomy but it could use better build up because we need support there.

We purchased all of our LG appliances at Home Depot May of 2013. So far we have had issues with both our LFX31945st fridge and our DLEX8000v dryer. Fridge costing $3200 and dryer $1300 having an issue within the first 8 months of use. Seems crazy to me but thats not even the beginning of our frustration. Ill try to stay on topic with the dryer on this review. Our dryer initially stopped drying on a Sunday. When we called LG for it to be repaired, we were told to call one of their service reps to come and repair it which I thought was weird, that we had to do the legwork for their warranty repair. A&E was their contractor that we scheduled services with. The soonest they could come was Tuesday. They replaced the thermostat and it worked for about 30min then it stopped working again, of course after the tech left. We called LG and they said they cant do anything further until they receive the work history from the tech which could take 24-48hrs after the services were completed. They finally allowed me to speak with a supervisor after requesting it for the fourth time. The supervisor wasnt much better but after arguing with him for over an hr, he said he would have Dells come over on Thursday since A&E didnt have any apts. available. Which was a lie because we actually had A&E coming over that same day to repair our LG fridge for the third time that same day. When Dells came, they were already upset that they were requested to service it after another repair shop tried to repair so they simply confirmed that it was not heating and called LG to explain that it was broken. They argued and belittled their own service rep to the point he didnt even want to talk with them anymore. After he left I called LG again and they said they would have to set up another service call because Dells didnt change any parts, it was not considered serviced. Long story short, LG told me three parts must be changed in the appliance before it will be reviewed for replacement or refund. The tech must provide the work history to the proper LG phone number or it doesnt count. Us as the customer have to pay the price for LGs lack of organization and horrible processes. They scheduled a third service call for Sunday so it had been a week since we had a working dryer. A&E visited us again and changed the thermostat again. I confirmed that the dryer was working but I could smell something burnt. He said that was normal for the dryer to smell like that. I put a load in and started and told him to stick around for a few minutes to make sure it still worked. I also spoke to him about contacting LG to let them know whats going on in order to move their process along. He flat out refused to call them because of his experience with their customer service. He had another apt. so he left. Not ten minutes after he left it stopped working again. I called LG and again they told me there was nothing they can do until they receive his work history asking me to contact them to send it to them. What kind of company expects their customers to do their job for them? Ridiculous! When I asked them what they expect me to do until my dryer is repaired or replaced. They asked me if I knew what a clothes hanger was? They also suggested to let them air dry. Why would I purchase a $1300 dryer if I planned on letting my clothes air dry around my house or on a clothes line. LG is a joke. I spoke to the manager of Home Depot and explained my LG experience with him and he said he wasnt surprised I wasnt the first to tell him about there horrible service and he had spoken to them personally on behalf of us to get it resolved. He said he wasnt treated any better. Home Depots manager has been the only one that has helped us. Even though it has nothing to do with the warranty Home Depot gave us, he has offered to send us a dryer to use while we are dealing with the return process with LG which I thought was very generous of Home Depot. They actually care to keep our business and LG could care less. LG is setting up another appointment A&E to come out tomorrow so they can change out the same part for the third time to see if the third time is a charm I guess. LGs appliances might look nice from the outside but they dont function worth a crap and dont expect them to want to help you with them when they do fall apart. I would prefer to have no customer service then deal with their customer service. I wish they would take all of their appliances back.

In-door features, online connectivity and support reminders lists, Alexa compatibility are features that I like about this refrigerator and the icemaker makes the most perfect ice cube in the most amazing shapes and sizes for the whole families choices. One of the main reasons I finally decided on an LG refrigerator was the sleek design inside and outside. It is purely beautiful in design and a very beautifully functioning machine. The pricing is the first major obstacle to ownership. The size of the refrigerator is another thought to consider for apartment dwellers. It is a large refrigerator but not overly cumbersome in design so it equals out.

I purchased LG washer and dryer, the best in STEAM technology and thought I did a good deal. While we dont know yet if the washer and dryer perform well or not, we were shocked the first time we used the washer today to hear a lot of banging. We discovered the water tap was not open. Then when the washing was ready, it was wrinkled so we suspected the rinsing was done with warm water!! And that was true; the techs from SEARS installed the hoses wrongly. I give the SEARS install team 2 stars, thats it.Then, I called LG Customer support to complain about SEARS and they basically dont care. During the call, I discovered that the one who answered, with very lousy English, was a total ignorant and didnt know anything about a thing. My boyfriend and I ordered a LG fridge online on June 25th for $1804.13. It was to be delivered on June 30th. My boyfriend left work to meet LG at our house. Two men took the fridge off the truck and out of the box and the back was damaged all smashed. My boyfriend told them we did not want that one and they took it back. LG never contacted us to when a new one would be delivered. I called them (on hold too long) and they told me they could not get another one here until July 11th. I couldnt believe it, I asked why so long and LG said that is the next date a truck could get to my location. I thought since it was their mistake maybe they should go a little out of their way for a customer, but no, there was nothing they could or would do. So 12 days without a fridge. We had to use a cooler just for water, milk and half for our coffee, buying ice constantly. We went out to eat a lot, which is really expensive. It was a nightmare! I called LG again and complained to a Manager/Supervisor and had to go through about an hour on the phone explaining the story over and over until I finally could get them to connect me with a supervisor and he was not very helpful but he finally said once the fridge was delivered LG would send me a check for $100.00 for my troubles, but I had to call back once the fridge was delivered. I asked why I had to wait and he stated that is their policy. I think they want you to forget about it once you get your new fridge. Well I didnt. I called back and asked for the same Supervisor, I did write down his name, Jerold. After being on hold again and explaining my story again to 2 different employees, I finally talk to Jerold and he said they will send me a check in the mail. Now it is Sept 6th and no check came in the mail.I called back LG asked to speak to Jerome, they couldnt get me Jerome, said they have a lot of Supervisors located all over and I would have to speak to whoever picked up my call. I was on hold for 20 minutes. A woman answered. I asked if she was a Supervisor, she said yes then she asked me for my phone # and put me back on hold for 5 min. She came back on the phone and said she didnt see my order. I then told her the whole situation and said maybe she should have asked me what the issue was before she put me on hold so quickly. She told me that there was no Jerome that worked there. I said it was the same # that I previously called, twice. Then I told her that the order was under my boyfriends phone # and I have the order # and the model # and sku #. She wasnt really listening, but looked up my boyfriends # and asked for the model # and said she saw no order for us.I couldnt believe it. The new fridge is in our kitchen that they delivered. I yelled at her, I just couldnt get over the way they treat customers. So I went on the computer and had a live chat on their website. The woman on the computer found the order under my boyfriends phone #. Maybe they should find a better way to keep track of orders (maybe by the order #) but she said that she had spoke to the woman, Supervisor, that I just got off the phone with and there is nothing they could do for me. Then said that they do not have a Jerome that works there and they do not give back any type of reimbursement or refund for bad service or unhappy customers. It is not their policy. I guess it not their policy to keep customers happy. It was their fault I went without a fridge for as long as I did. It was their fault I had to spend a lot more than I should have on food for two weeks, after giving them One Thousand Eight Hundred dollars.I think LG Supervisors do it on purpose, tell you to call back once the fridge is delivered, wait for a check in the mail, all tactics to make you give up. Well I didnt give up and it got me nowhere. LG also tried to say it was a Home Depot issue. Well Home Depot connected me to them, and why did a Supervisor from LG, Jerome, say he would send a check in the mail. I called Home Depot and they said they wouldnt do that, they would have reimbursed some of our payment. I have never been this angry but we spent a lot of money and hassle over this, and it is not over $100.00. It is about the way I was treated.

I purchased what appeared to be an attractive French Door Refrigerator from Best Buy for over $2,000. After less than 2 years, all the door bins are cracked and about to literally fall off the doors. In addition, the freezer tray drawer is deteriorating and plastic pieces are breaking off and falling onto the food in the freezer drawer below. The drawer almost doesnt work now. We also purchased an extended warranty (Geek Squad) for another $249 but when I called them, they said that these items are not covered, because they do not affect the refrigerators ability to cool! I have more than 35 years in the plastics industry and know for a fact that these parts are failing because of a combination of poor product design and poor material selection. Its too bad I didnt read this blog before I purchased an LG refrigerator, and I strongly warn against buying their products. And I will never again purchase a Geek Squad warranty (who subcontracts their appliance claims to N.E.W.).

I have been quite unhappy with my lovely new LG washing machine, because everything it washes comes out smelling bad. I found (online) many stories from people with front-loading HE washers who had nasty-smelling laundry. I called LG last month and the customer service people gave me a series of chores to do and said if I performed them weekly, the smell would disappear. Well, I performed them five times weekly and the laundry still smelled like week-old workout clothes stuffed in a gym locker. So yesterday, they finally sent a real, live repairman. The repair guy took one look and said it was clean and nothing was wrong that he could fix except by telling me to use a powdered laundry detergent called Charlies Soap. He insisted that all the usual detergents are made with animal fats or byproducts or something, but Charlies Soap is made with coconut oils or something vegetable-based, and that it is the animal fats that build up in the clothes in these HE washers and make the clothes smell like a week-old gym bag. He said it would take 2 or 3 washings with Charlies Soap to eliminate all the smell in the clothes. I thought he was nuts, but I tried it. It actually worked. Now I want to know why LG doesnt tell anyone what the problem is! I was aggravated & upset with stinking laundry for six months! Do they have a financial connection to laundry detergent sales but not to Charlies Soap?

I have the LG model WM2140CW washer and dryer for about 2 years. I have cleaned the gasket, inside of the tub, and door on the washing machine as directed by the manufacturer and run bleach through the tub clean cycle and still cannot get rid of the moldy smell. When cleaning the gasket, I noticed mold and mildew on the gasket and have cleaned them with modified bleach and even used Q-tips to remove the mold, it just comes back. Even after you wipe the gaskets off after each wash, you cannot get all of the mold out of the gaskets and this transfers to your clothes, sometimes needing to be rewashed 2 or 3 times. I keep the door open for ventilation but there is no way for the gasket area to stay completely dry. The smell is so bad at times you have to close the laundry room door to keep it from reeking into the rest of the house. I am calling for service this week but I know what they are going to tell me which is exactly what I have been doing. I would not recommend this LG set to anyone. I plan on going back to a top loading washer just to get the smell out of my house and clothes. As far as the dryer, I have to run it 2 to 3 times just to get clothes dry. Avoid LG at all costs.

My 14 month old 26 cu foot LG refrigerator completely died on 4/19. LG ONLY allows their service companies and THEIR parts for repair. 1st attempt at repair did not work. Now they tell me it will be 5/15 to get the needed part and sorry for my inconvenience. I spent the last 3 days on the phone with management and although I have been told theyd replace the unit, they have not. I have been told 3 times now that Id get a call back within 24 hrs and never have. They are totally giving me the runaround and flat out lies.I have been without a fridge for 14 days now... with several children. No milk, no cheese, etc. It is a nightmare. If I had known the horrible customer service issues, Id have just gone out and bought a different brand fridge weeks ago. I guess Im a sucker for believing that the company might actually want to provide a satisfactory customer experience. Not being on hold for 45 min while a recording repeatedly chimes your time is valuable to us.

LG French door model - I purchased one of the most expensive fridges in the LG lineup about 3.5 years ago. It stopped working - no cold air anywhere. I called LG, and they offered me a flat rate deal to send a technician and fix the fridge (about $210). I paid and a technician came. The problem was the compressor relay. He could not order the part because it was discontinued. It took LG 4 weeks to agree that the part was not available (during that time, I was without a fridge). Every time I called to inquire, they told me to be patient. Now, their only offer is to pro-rate the fridge value and pay me around $900 towards the value of a new LG Fridge. I asked for a replacement; they refused. To add insult to injury, they said I am not even getting back the full $210 repair cost because the technician still has to get paid, although nothing was fixed. LG makes a wide range of goods. I will not be buying any of their products, ever.

I like so many others, purchased my French Door LG refrigerator on 11/13/2015. Almost four weeks ago I walked into the kitchen and discovered a puddle of water on the floor. Called a local repair service and they came over and said it was the board. They ordered a new one, which took two weeks to get. Installed it and guess what, that wasnt the problem. Its the compressor! I has to call a certified LG repair service and they have ordered the new part, said it will take 7-10 days to get. So hopefully by the end of next week it will arrive. In the meantime after reading all of these complaints I have called NBC News Better Get Bacquero and am also filing a complaint with the District Attorney in NYS. I suggest that everyone who has these issues (there seem to be over 1900 of us) do the same thing. By the way, if you check out the complaints re: the Kenmore refrigerators also made by LG there are a total of over 4000 complaints. Something needs to be done!!

I bought an LG front loading washing machine in October 2011. I also bought an LG bottom freezer french doors refrigerator in October 2011, while doing a house renovation. Refrigerator Model is LFC20760SW. When washing machine broke in June I was told it was not worth fixing. In Feb I came home from vacation and the food in refrigerator was spoiled. The lights dont even work. I checked breaker. The vacuum works in the electrical receptacle so it not the power. Also at least 4 of the plastic pieces have broken off. Both sides of the slider in the deep freezer broke. The door storage broke. Some other pieces have broken off. I will never buy an LG again. Cant get a LG repair person either. Sears is coming over maybe.

I have been more than satisfied by the performance of this refrigerator brand, for almost 12 years now and its still working. Only this previous days when I notice that it stops performing what it intends to do. As I am an aircon technician myself, I immediately examine the unit and the only problem that I found is the PCB control needs to be replace. Thats all. The last time that I service other LG ref, I can easily bought those parts and, voila, its good as new. But now they change those policy. You cant buy the parts now. They keep on insisting that they will only do repairs, so I keep on wondering - how will they do some repairs for those minute parts of electronics in the PCB & keep the customer waiting for weeks? Are these the way they treat consumer after? So now Im considering to buy another ref. Perhaps as a consumer weve got to stick to the brand from the past for good after sales service even though the appliance is long overdue in service. Ive been with the LG service when its a GOLDSTAR brand name. Its their first brand name when they enter the market and they keep on saying that we need to satisfy & address the consumer needs & complaints for us to be known & admired by... so what now that this is one giant brand name???

Back in November 2008 we purchased an LG front load washer from Home Depot. After two months of owning the washer it went crazy! I had put a load of clothes in to wash and went about my chores, when I heard a horrible banging sound! When I ran into the laundry room I saw the washer jumping all over the place and beating holes in my wall! Before I could get to the plug to disconnect power, the front of the machine blew off and the washer drum fell out. I was in shock, my floor was flooded and the machine was destroyed! I called LG and explained what had happened and their wonderful customer service suggested that I unplug the machine for 15 minutes and then try it again! Really??? After 3 weeks, about 50 phone calls they finally sent a repairman out who said it was do fixable! Another two weeks went by and we finally got a replacement machine. The replacement leaks all of the time! They have been out to check it more times than I can count and it still leaks! I will never buy another LG product!

Have finally narrowed down the clothes washing machine that would best suit
Have finally narrowed down the clothes washing machine that would best suit our family needs. Our choice was the LG 5680HVAS. Unfortunately, or actually luckily, my wife decided to dry run the washer by attempting to simulate retrieving clothes once washed. She discovered, at 5 3, she could not reach the bottom of the tub. We then went on to investigate the Maytag designs as well as the Samsung, and GE. We did not review any others. It appears that all of the HE designs have incorporated a physically taller design to facilitate the deeper drum. Bottom line, if you are 5 5 or physically shorter, dont buy one of these machines as you will be greatly inconvenienced every time you use it.

Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste
Spending nearly $900 on my LG washing machine was the single biggest waste of hard earned money I’ve ever experienced. This thing is not worth the box it came in. It’s the worst household appliance I’ve ever owned. Since my purchase I’ve read countless reviews saying the exact same thing. It’s not at all unusual to spend between 12 and 36 hrs to actually get a load of clothes washed after continuous malfunctions. We are literally hauling it to the landfill. This machine would be an insult to give to someone else. I will most definitely not ever purchase another LG product. BE WARNED... Do your research and check reviews before wasting your money on any type of LG washing machine. This product doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Customer service is non-existent so don’t waste your time trying to get help, they could literally care less about any problems you might be having.

I bought an LG refrigerator and it was a horrible purchase. I had to have it fixed and I had to pay for a repair guy to come out six times. The last man to come out told me that the previous technician that came out didnt know what he was doing, and he was terminated because he was caught lying to customers. I was also promised by LG a voucher for thousands of dollars worth of food I had to throw out because of all the times my refrigerator broke down. I sent in the receipt and I have a copy of the email but I never heard from them again. I never received the voucher for the food. I am a single mom of four kids and for me to lose thousands of dollars worth of food is completely disgusting. I would never buy an LG product ever again. It was a fail on their part to do what they were supposed to do and its taking everything inside of me not to go to the Better Business Bureau or to contact my lawyer regarding this.

I have had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with my 5 year old LG front loading washing machine. In the beginning it was a mildew odor in the unit. Did a few loads with bleach and wiped around rubber sealant weekly. The clothes do not seem clean to me. I have adjusted the water levels, amount of detergent, the cycle is way over an hour and the results are not good. The control panel shut down and now I have to spend $500 to replace it. I would never recommend this product.

And its a shame I had to post on this site to get any kind of help from them, when they adamantly refused when we called. I dont know how loading clothes can scratch this plastic but I continue to get more scratches. I realize this is petty but my washer and dryer are in an open area in the utility room which you walk through to get to the kitchen from the garage and the scratches are on display.

We were very upset initially with our expensive LG refrigerator breaking after 3 1/2 years which left us living out of coolers for a week, losing 80% of the items in our refrigerator and freezer due to spoilage. We were finally able to speak with an LG Representative on the phone within 24 hours to discuss the problem and LG came through and stood behind their product by conducting a repair with upgraded new parts and a software update to help eliminate future problems. We had an extended warranty through an authorized LG retailer we purchased from. LG took over the repair order, sent their internal LG Service Direct Technician to our home and conducted the repair. The technician was very professional and highly skilled. The repair only took 1 hour.We were very concerned about parts being ordered and having to wait an additional 1-2 weeks after diagnostic testing. Not the case! Repair was complete on 26 FEB 2020, 6 days after breakage. 5 hours after the repair completion, the ice maker was producing ice, freezer was working, and the refrigerator was cold. Seems like a good repair. I would like to thank LG for their support in this matter regarding our refrigerator repair. We look forward to enjoying our LG appliances now and in the future.

My LG bottom freezer refrigerator was 4 months old when it started to emit a chemical odor that permeated the foods and made them inedible. It smelled similar to the smell that it had when it was new that the manual said would disappear a few days after running it and it did go away. I called LG, and they sent a repairman, who opened the door, said he could smell nothing and that was it. Over 2 months, I called LG and I got the run-around until finally they said they will do nothing. I replaced the fresh air filter at 6 months to see if that would help, and it knocked the odor back for a few days, but then the odor just came back. Now, I have a brand new refrigerator sitting in my kitchen that is totally useless. Do not buy this refrigerator.

LG: my advice is don’t buy any of their products. 5 weeks ago my $3000 fridge stopped cooling. I had a local company out here, they determined that the linear compressor has to replaced, like most of them after just a few years. Called LG June 14th., filed a warranty claim and got confirmed the part would ship in 2-3 weeks. Coming back from Europe last week no part, no correspondence. Called last Thursday and a lady in their customer service center confirmed my order but told me it was not processed. She would expedite and call me back on Monday. Again nothing happened. 1st call today I was forwarded to their external part warehouse provider who didn’t have any information. Asked for supervisor, got connected but he refused to take care of the warranty part and insisted to send another technician to my home, but can’t guarantee that he has the part. In the meantime I bought a 2nd fridge and put it in my garage. You buy an expensive, presumingly high end product at a premium price that fails premature, service is nonexistent, warranty is not honored and spend 2 hours on the phone.

I bought my kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago, all LG brand, brand new from Home Depot. My dishwasher has given us some issues over the last year and come to find out the electronics are not covered under the 10 year warranty that is plastered on front of the appliance. No big deal, my husband was able to fix it. However, our refrigerator is a different story. It stopped cooling. We called LG. We waited a week for a repairman who was not qualified to fix refrigerators. He stated, I dont fix refrigerators. I work on washers and dryers. But with the help of the tech support he was able to determine it was the compressor. I was instructed to call LG with a case number and they would send out a qualified person to fix the problem. This was on a Friday. I called back late Monday afternoon to check on the progress and told they still havent found anyone to fix the issue. I was denied the privilege to speak with upper management and sent into the queue so long that it kicked me out. I called back 2 more times with the same result. I called back a 4th time and spoke with a different rep. He continues to tell me more of the same stuff. Not one rep was able to give me a time frame that I would have to wait for a service repair man because the truth is they dont have one in my area. He was unable to give me a number to upper management or connect me with someone higher up. He said when they send customers into the queue to be sent to the next level they keep being kicked back to them. So in other words LG does not back their products nor care about their customersThey believe it is acceptable for a product to last less than 3 years and a customer to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks with no recourse. May I add this is during the quarantine, so I had more food in the fridge than normal and yes I lost a lot of food. But no worries for LG. They are not worried about the customer. Do NOT buy LG products. I have NEVER been so upset or dissatisfied with a product before. I am 44 years old and this is the first BAD product review I have written on any product.

My husband and I purchased a new LG refrigerator just 2 years ago. TWO weeks ago right before July 4th everything defrosted and melted in the freezer and the refrigerator went warm. I called LG warranty service and purchased a service plan. They scheduled to come July 6th. They cancelled that appointment because they overbooked pushed me back to July 11th. Five days later. This brings us to July 10th by 4 o clock I havent heard from them with the scheduled time so I called them. I found out they cancelled again! They didnt even have the decency to call. They would not give us a date when someone could get here. We were told we would receive a callback in 1 to 2 business days with a date. We refused to accept this or hang up because they can not be trusted. Over a long time probably a hour later we finally got a date. Saturday. Another 5 days.So we have been out a ref for 2 weeks. Tried to call someone ourselves to get this fixed. They came said it might be the fan but they are unable to get the part because LG wont give them the look up a number so we have 2 options wait another 5 days and hope they actually come or buy a new refrigerator. 2000 dollars down the drain for a new refrigerator. So beware when buying LG appliances. Its safe to say I will never ever buy an LG product again. LG corporation also did nothing. All they wanted to do is confirm our appointment. I can do that dont need them to do that for us. So stand clear of LG got sold a lemon and cant even get it fixed. Updates repair man came 2 weeks later got the new compressor and guess what still doesnt work. I am a month without a refrigerator with 2 kids in the summer. Never again will I go with LG for anything.

We had register complaint then 4 to 5 times their different technicians came telling various problem. And at last they found but spare parts are so costly so I will not suggest this w.m. for ordinary people who cant afford this regular maintenance of around 2000. If small part is also damage you have to take whole unit e.g. PCB harness for one part of filter PCB. It is really not affordable. Company should provide those small parts instead of insisting customer to buy whole units.

I purchased an LG microhood and almost immediately, the stove lights melted and burned through the plastic covers. Unfortunately, I didnt report it until after the year warranty was up, but when I did report it, they still wouldnt stand behind their product. I googled the problem and others were having the same problem. Any other appliance manufacturer would have stood behind their product, but not LG. The guy in customer service said I was the only one with this problem. I told him to do an internet search on this and see all the others with the same problem and he laughed at me and hung up. Yes, he actually laughed and hung up saying there was nothing they could do. This is clearly a manufacturers defect, plain and simple. Also, the plastic clip holding the filter in broke while I was changing a filter. Also, I will have to replace the light bulb covers every time they melt through as the plastic is burnt and cracked and can fall into food. The light bulbs blow quickly. Buying this product has been a disaster. I will never buy another LG product again, just based on the way I was treated by customer service alone.

Washer is staining clothing, and the stains will not come out. Ive had 2 repair people (both sent by LG) come out and they have both told me it should be replaced. After numerous calls to LG, and their stating they never got any feedback from the repair techs, they finally tracked down the comments. LG has said that the feedback they received from the first service tech was he couldnt find the problem...and since he didnt even take out any tools to dismantle the machine, that is true. But when he told me it should be replaced, and that would be what he would communicate to LG, I believed him. After asking for a 2nd opinion, they sent a 2nd tech who also advised it should be replaced. However, LG said that 2nd tech said it needed to be repaired but that I declined further service (which is absolutely false). Happy to have it repaired, replaced, whatever...just want to have a washing machine that doesnt leave stains on my clothing...but it seems LG doesnt want to replace a faulty product, nor do they want to send qualified repair people to actually address the problem. I thought LG was a good brand name so when we were looking for refrigerators, I was drawn to the style of the French door fridge and we chose it. I wish Id looked at this site first! Exactly three years to the day after purchasing it, it shut down. My freezer was packed and everything had to be thrown out! The fridge stayed cool long enough to salvage some of the contents. Ok, so sometimes products fail, right? Their customer service is THE WORST. They could not be less helpful if they set out to do it! I called the first time and was told by a sugary sweet computer voice that they were too busy and she hung up on me!The next day when I called back I was told by the same computer that my wait would be 7 minutes. The next time my wait time was announced it was 8 minutes. Wait, what? When I finally got to speak to someone, he treated me like an idiot suggesting I didnt have it set on the right temps or didnt close the freezer door correctly. He was infuriating because he knew nothing and was operating from a script that meant he wasnt even thinking. It would have been nice if somewhere they said gee, thats awful. Were sorry. We hope to make it up to you. A friend who works in the electronics field said LG is notorious for not backing up their product. Im going to say this. I wish Id listened to my husband and selected the Samsung fridge!!! Ill never buy another LG appliance again.

Bought it in 2015 with 5 year extended warranty from Home Depot, nice features and look, first time no cooling in 2018, linear compressor broke, had to buy a small freezer to move the food as the service came after a week, then another week for the compressor to arrive. Then in 2019 the top ice maker not working getting frozen, tech changed sprayer. Now, Oct 2020 the freeze and fridge not cooling, it seems to be the compressor again, need to wait one week for tech to come, overall a joke. Other techs recommend not to buy LG or Samsung as the parts not ready available and break frequently. Buying a GE this time and waiting for LG tech to repair and have it donated as do not have space to keep it as back up. What is the point of having a nice fridge if not reliable cooling.

LG Washer WT1101CW - Terrible washing machine. If you buy this washer, dont expect to wash a small, medium, or large size load in a reasonable time period. Constant uE errors, tub fills with more water to try to adjust, etc. Or, we just get the uE error and have to run down the stairs to rearrange the clothes. Regardless of how careful we are with loading/arranging the wash, what type of wash we put in, etc, we have constant uE errors. It can take up to 4 hours to do one medium size load. Ive since read that the control panel may be faulty? We have a tech coming this week. There may be a software update needed? Who knew? (How would I know this! I didnt get any kind of message saying that the software was out of date! ) This will be the 4th tech visit this year. In addition, just for ** and giggles, we decided to do a tub clean cycle. You guessed it. uE error! So, obviously, if the washer cant even function to do a tub clean with JUST WATER in it, theres something wrong with this product. Dont buy it. You WILL be sorry. Im sorry that I cant give zero stars in this review!

We were shopping for appliances and there was a good deal for the LG bundle. However, the refrigerator had an irreparable leak in the coil. We’ve had it for about six years, but the average lifespan of a refrigerator should be longer than that. There were several visits by the technicians. Ultimately, what they determined was that it couldn’t be repaired and that they would send us the retro value of the unit based on depreciation. So, we ended up getting a check. The actual sending of the check, once it was mailed and I received it at my home, was very quick. But the process of the first technician’s visit to getting them to say that they were gonna send us a check took probably two to three months. It was a really long, drawn-out process.

Updated on 11/29/2021: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Again, based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and any posted customer experience comments before purchasing any LG kitchen appliance. I made a post 2 months ago on the unreliable refrigerator I purchased and the lack of customer service from LG. Shortly after that post I got action, but it has turned out to be just lip service. I have provided everything LG requested to get a prorated reimbursement for the refrigerator. I have been told on several occasions the reimbursement is approved and the check has been mailed. To this date, 11/29/21, I still have not received the check and I still have an unreliable LG refrigerator. The “promises” of me receiving a reimbursement, which come from as high up of the “liaison of the president”, apparently are meaningless. Bottom line is if you are planning to purchase kitchen appliances please, please consider my situation in order to avoid hours and hours of wasted time and frustration as well as money if you go with LG.Original Review: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and the customer experience comments when something does not work like it should. We purchased the French door refrigerator in November 2019. We started having a problem with the freezer compartment getting too warm in April 2021. This is October 2, 2021 and the problem still exists. The customer service department scheduled repairs. Nine technicians from two different companies have worked on the refrigerator. Many components have been replaced including thermostats, rear cover panel and the mother board that controls everything. The problem revolves around the defrost cycle and the unit not being able to recover from defrosting. The compartment gets too warm, 41 degrees. The refrigerator compartment also gets to 41 degrees. Multiple times everything in the freezer has thawed and turned to liquid. Ice melts in the ice dispenser and runs on the floor. The issue has been escalated 4 times now. Three of those have been to the Defective Returns Department. They rejected the claim first due to “improper submission of the claim by their representative” and a second time because “the person handling the claim no longer works for the company”. I have emailed the President twice without a response even though his webpage says he will respond. My experience has been extremely poor and I still have a defective refrigerator. For $3,100 I expected a unit that would perform and last for a number of years. The company has no doubt spent near that amount of failed repair attempts. I’ve been told that my unit qualifies for either replacement or refund due to the number of repairs and due to the failure of the company to schedule repair within 14 days. This problem is a nightmare and has no resolution within sight. Life’s Not So Good with this kind of customer service and a company that does not stand behind its product. Buyer beware!

My 6-year-old refrigerator quit completely (most likely compressor). I called LG as parts are still under warranty. They gave me 3 places to call to schedule a repair. Two places stated they no longer accepted any service calls on LG repairs and one said she was so far out of my area she didnt know why they gave me their number. I called LG back and was told to see if I could find somebody. I called several places and got the same thing so I called LG back again. I was then told I would be placed with scheduling and somebody would call me in 3 to 5 business days. I asked was their list different or more current and was told his list was fine. I asked him to go unplug his refrigerator for the next 10 days and throw away $300.00 worth of food. He said there was no reason for me to get smart. This is unbelievable. LG doesnt know which of their service providers still honor their calls??? I am now shopping for a refrigerator after 3 days of doing without and no resolution in sight and considering an attorney. I have read far too many horror stories.

Not even 3 years ago we purchased a $2,400 refrigerator that was on sale. Well a month ago the fridge quit cooling and the warranty covered parts. Called and explained the problem and we were told to turn off the fridge for 24 hours and it might restart. I explained my food is going bad and do you tell all customers to turn their fairly new appliances off for a restart. The LG rep. giggled and said if I called out someone without trying a restart it would cost more money. After a month and three visits from a serviceman he tells me the fridge is bad. LG going on policy I guess with little concern about our family and us having no way of cooling our food offers to prorate our fridge giving us approximately $850. Kicker another two weeks for a check. The last of several supervisor tells me, You can still go buy a fridge if you want, you just wont get your check till the 19th. Bottom line, no concern or compassion for a customer. I will never own LG again.

I own an LG refrigerator (model number LR FD 22850 SW), French doors style and with a freezer on the bottom. One day my wife called me and said that the fridge is running hot and the lights stay on, even with the doors closed. I told her to disconnect the power and remove the light bulbs, until I get home. I later found out that the light sockets were very dark and burnt. The plastic lens cover and plastic base were also melted by the light bulbs. I got replacements from Sears’ parts website. I got them the very next day, and replaced all bad parts. After four hours, the fridge started to get hot again--the same problem. I had placed a thermometer inside to monitor the temperature while it had no lights. The temperature was steady at 37 degrees. Four hours later, with the lights on, the temperature reading was 89 degrees. Lots of foods were spoiled, and the plastic parts melted again. So far I have removed the lights, and the temperature is going back to normal. I believe I am not the only one with this defective appliance.

In 2012 LG issued a recall on a series of ranges due to a major safety issue many consumers experienced with faulty burners. The recall was issued in the first place to have the burners replaced BEFORE there was a fire or injury. However, I just discovered the recall yesterday, and after finding that our stove was subject to it, called LG today to schedule an appointment for repair. What I encountered instead was a stonewalling by the CSRs. I disclosed to them that we had not experienced any issues with the burners, but that as a precaution, we would like to have the repair affected. The CSRs were adamant that unless we had experienced a safety issue, they were not authorized to schedule an appointment. I then insisted that they schedule an appointment anyway, and that I would deal with the tech as to whether the repair was qualified under the recall.I was then finally transferred to another CSR to schedule the appointment. I had to once again go through my reasons for seeking to have the repair done, and since this CSR had internet access, I pointed her to http://www.lgelectricrangerecall.com/faq.php (The first CSR did not have access to this site). At q.3 of the faq, LG itself states that if you have not experienced these problems, you may still use your electric range, but you must still schedule a free in-home repair. Prior to reading this direction on their own website, the CSR was adamant that in order for her to schedule a repair, as a prerequisite, the consumer must be experiencing a problem with the burners. However, after reading it, she then consulted with her manager. After several minutes, the CSR came back on the line to schedule the repair. After I inquired as to what the manager said, she advised that as the direction conflicts with LGs policies, they would be removing the page from the website. I find this to be quite alarming, especially in view of the fact that at least 80 dangerous situations of the burner reaching extremely high temperatures, or not turning off, had been reported and are known to LG, and that over 161,000 ranges had been recalled. As they will be taking the page down soon, if you are interested in following up on this as a possible story, it would be prudent to visit it soon.

The knobs are not safe just brushing against them just as other reviewers have said and you have gas leaking into your home-no safety lock position. The oven warms up to 500 degrees no matter where you set the temperature, I have burnt everything I put into this oven as I cannot calibrate to get a correct 350 degree which is at where most baking is done! There must be some website or news outlet to alert the public of this piece of junk produced by LG. Will not be buying nor recommending any product made by LG. Updated on 08/30/2019: The leaked water ruined the chill drawer electrics. it is not covered under warranty anymore. I did talk to LG and they agreed to send me a new face for the drawer. Then the tech tells they charge $300 to install it. With LG the hits just keep on coming. Since the tech left yesterday the fridge is at 45 degrees and the freezer is at 20 degrees F. Maybe it will get better later? Consumers deserve better than this.Original review: Bought this refrigerator June 14 2016. The compressor and other parts have been replaced twice. The last time was August 15 2019. Here it is August 19 2019 and it is 40 degrees in the freezer and 60 degrees in the fridge. Again we are waiting on the repairman. Have lost around 200 dollars worth of food each time. It is clearly time for them to replace this lemon with a new fridge but they probably will not. Maybe the third time is a charm but I am not betting a new purchase of groceries it like I did last week. If you bought an LG fridge best of luck to you.

We bought an LG refrigerator (Model # LMX28994ST /00) on June 12, 2012 (Delivered on the 22nd of June) at Sears #100-1425 Sumas Way Abbotsford B.C. On New Year’s Day we opened the fridge and the cream for coffee was warm. I opened the freezer compartment with all the expensive foodstuffs for holiday entertaining was thawed so all of the fridge items and the expensive food had to be thrown out. We called the service dept. for we had 5 year extended warranty on January 2, 2015 and it took almost 6 days for the service man to arrive. He told us that the motherboard had fried the compressor - we have been waiting for parts to come and it is FEBRUARY the 2nd and they might come this Friday if we are lucky. Sears says feel my pain - I havent had a fridge since New Years Day!!!! I am diabetic and need a fridge for veg., etc. for eating out is so unhealthy! I will never set foot in a Sears store again and I will tell everyone about this experience!! I have always used Sears for my appliances and have sent others to them. Have I looked into the future and found appliance buying a scary thing?!

Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. Next, I was told that I would have to transport it to a service center and pay all labor costs. They cannot tell you the hourly rate. The service rep also noted that only some parts are covered. We made it 4 years with our LG refrigerator, purchased at Lowes. Everything was fine except that it wasnt cooling. Every single thing was fine except the air was blowing warm. No other problems. It was as if it just needed coolant. We have now been without a refrigerator for 10 days and almost every part has been replaced including the compressor, dryer, refrigerant, and other miscellaneous parts. Today we learned that they have to order a circuit board. The repair technician has no sense of urgency and seems totally clueless. We called LG Service to let them know what was happening and they had all the records of our 3 repair visits in the last 10 days but were totally unsympathetic and said that we are stuck until the repair guy can fix it. We bought the annual service agreement for $465 and expect better service for that kind of money. We have lost hundreds of dollars of food and are living out of a cooler. I love LG products but I will never buy another one because the service is the worst we have ever experienced. The only positive thing I can say is that he has used a freaking blow torch on every visit and hasnt damaged our hardwood floors...YET.

The worst item EVER that Ive bought in my entire life. Ive had a lot of amazing dishwashers over the years from cheap on up. This ones a nightmare. From Day 1 there were issues with LG. Plates dont stack. They immediately fall over (like dominoes). The cutlery holder malfunctioned almost immediately. It no longer locks together to hold the utensil basket in place. This results in the far end basket (one of 4) tipping over into the unit from the weight. The top rack organizing glasses, bowls or cups. Again items continually fall over. I (originally) thought adjustable times on both the top and bottom rack was a smart idea. Im sure it looked good on paper but its a complete and total failure. Nothing is secure. Nothing is reliable. Does LG even bother to test the equipment they build? From the bottom of my heart...if you see this dishwasher for sale please just run away as fast as you can!

My 83 year old mother purchased an LG refrigerator about 2 years ago. She’s on a fixed income, so this was a significant purchase for her. I advised her to purchase the extended warranty for peace of mind in case something happened. What a joke. The refrigerator stopped cooling—freezer too. We called the repair number on her extended warranty & were told that the soonest they could get a repair technician out was over 9 days away. Well, not ideal, but we figured we could figure out how to make it work. The tech called to confirm the appointment & informed us he had ordered a new compressor to be shipped to her house because “they go out all the time.” Wow. That inspires confidence in the product. The repair day came and went without a tech showing up. When we called to inquire why the no-show & were rudely told that we were supposed to call when we received the parts. Well we saved the voicemail from the tech and there was NO mention of calling when the parts arrived. So they rescheduled the appointment, and again, the soonest available was a week away. The appointment was supposed to be from 1-5. We confirmed this for the 3 days leading up to the appointment. Yes, they assured us, the tech will be there between 1&5. Guess what? Again, no tech, it’s a Friday and the office closed at 5, so no help.Fed up, I called a local repair company. They were able to schedule an appointment for Monday morning. So I call LG to see if they will at least cover the labor for the repair. I’m told that because I didn’t use their “approved” vendor that they won’t cover the repair. Seriously? Clearly the LG refrigerators have a known issue with the compressor going out, but unless you use their “approved” vendor, you are out of luck. After over 7 hours of calls to LG customer service I was finally able to get ahold of the Executive team. Supposedly the approved vendor will be out tomorrow between 1&5. Yeah, heard that before. Fingers crossed they actually show up this time. One way or another, I will NEVER purchase an LG ANYTHING and I will advise EVERYONE I know to do the same. Worst customer service EVER.

Purchased this machine in 2010 for over $800. I was told it was fabulous. It was - for a few months. But then we noticed that our clothes were no longer smelling clean. In fact they come out smelling worse than when they went in dirty. There is just nothing that can prepare you for getting out of the shower, grabbing a clean towel and experiencing a smell so sour and disgusting, that you feel as though you need to shower again. They told us that we need to maintain our machine every month. What??? Is this a joke? The energy efficient uses less water machine they bragged about - we are now being told we should run 1 to 3 cleaning cycles, with special, expensive chemicals, EVERY month. EVERY MONTH for the life of the machine. I must do this in order to have clean laundry. Am I the only person who finds this absolutely insane??? I now have to take more effort and money every month to maintain my machine, then it actually took to do my laundry with my old machine. If doing my laundry with an LG washer is going to take this much effort... I might as well drag my laundry down to the creek and scrub it on some rocks. That would actually be quicker and more cost effective and, work better!!! I have called customer service (a bunch of foreign speaking people) numerous times. This last time was the last straw. They do not care for your opinion. They speak to you as though you are the problem. When I explained to the guy that the entire area around my bleach cup has completely rusted - guess what - thats right - it is my fault, and no one else on the planet has had this problem. I called knowing that my warranty is long gone but I told him I just wanted to give them feedback from a consumer about how I felt about their product. But, as you already know he doesnt care. He kept telling me to wash out my machine, and that I dont understand how to maintain my machine. I guess judging from the 100s of 1- star reviews, and similar complaints no one else on Earth knows how to do that either. So here is the bottom line. I own a business cleaning resort units. I have dealt with every machine known to man. I have only ever seen one other machine as junkie as this. I will NEVER buy another LG washer. I will go back to old school, agitator... where my clothes are actually coming out clean, and I never, ever, ever had to wash my machine to keep my laundry coming out the way it is suppose to. LG WT1101CW Washing Machine. Dont Buy LG. Warranty Not Honored. I purchased an LG top loading washing machine a year and a half ago after my twenty-year-old Maytag machine made of steel with a solid lid that finally needed to be replaced. Within months of buying this machine, the plastic around the hinges of the lid began to crack and started to crumble at the hinges. The plastic is not holding up to the opening and closing of the lid on my unit. I had the lid and hinges replaced four times for the same problem. Once the plastic around the hinges starts to crack and disintegrate, the lid cannot close, and you cannot use the machine at all. Customer service assured me after the fourth repair for the same problem that the unit would be replaced as defective. The plastic on the new lid after 5 months is starting to crack again, so I called and found out that my case was directed to the Defective Return Team and they rejected the claim. They told me it has been over a year since the purchase and it is now out of warranty. I have been repairing this brand new machine within a few months of purchasing it. Home Depot says its out of their hands, its up to LG but LG has not adhered to their own policy that after three visits to repair the same problem, it is considered unrepairable and is considered to be a defective machine and will be replaced. They will now send a technician out for a fifth time for the same repair. Its not fixing the problem! The lid keeps cracking around the hinges on both sides. Poor quality, poor workmanship, cheap materials and they will not replace the machine, and now that it is out of warranty, they may not replace the lid when it cracks again and I will have a machine I cannot use that I paid almost $700 for. After experiencing this, I will never buy another LG product again.

We bought the LG LFX25978ST French door refrigerator on 5-1-2013 from HH Gregg. Was working okay until Oct 5, 2013 (5 months) when it suddenly stopped making ice & freezer contents were mushy, soft. Called LG. They told me to reset the ice maker & it should be fine. Reset twice, still no ice. Called LG on Oct 6th again. They told me to get a new filter or bypass plug (which should have been left with me when they delivered) which I did on Oct 7th. Put the bypass plug in... still no ice & freezer not freezing. Called LG back. They said they would schedule a service tech to repair. After several calls from the repair people about the date of purchase, serial #, model # finally they said they would have to order a new ice maker & when the parts came in they would schedule the repair. Finally came out on Oct 17th!! 12 days with no ice & very little freezer. Had to buy ice & use ice trays in my garage freezer. When the repairman came out on Oct 17th, he had a new motherboard & a new ice maker.... Took him 2 hours to replace the ice maker in the door... Had to take it back out several times because the ice container was too tight. He said it would take 8 hours to make ice, to call him in the morning if it did not. Well... still no ice & worst now... no freezer. Lost about $80.00 of food... ice cream melted completely & all over the bottom. Called the repair service next day Oct 18th, told them no freezer, no ice. They told me they would send the tech out again but could not until Oct 21st. Also called LG about my defective refrigerator. They said it wasnt defective & they would not replace it until it was deemed unrepairable. Very unsympathetic & rude! They told me I must allow them to repair. Repairman came back out Oct 21st & was on the phone to LG Tech. Put thermometers in freezer & refrigerator was finally diagnosed as a bad compressor!! This refrigerator is only 5 months old!!! I had a Frigidaire before that was 16 yrs old & I never had a bad compressor. Called LG again & asked what they were going to do about my refrigerator. They told me that it was not unrepairable. That I had to allow them to replace the compressor or they would do nothing!!!! So after talking to HH Gregg a couple of times, with no help from them either, HH Gregg said I would have to allow them to do the repairs. You would think that HH Gregg would stand behind their products also. I had bought all 4 new appliances from HH Gregg but only the refrigerator was an LG. So as it stands now, I have a different service provider that LG sent an email to, not listing the replacements parts (I had to give them that info so they could order the compressor). They are scheduled to come out Nov 6th with the new compressor. But Saturday Nov 2nd, my refrigerator is not cooling!!! I bought a ref thermometer & the temp in the refrigerator is 55 degrees!!! I have no other refrigerator!!!I paid $2300 for this LG refrigerator on 5-1-2013. I have no refrigerator, no freezer & no ice. LG does not care!!! I am still trying to get either LG or HH Gregg to replace this defective refrigerator & I guarantee I will never purchase another LG product. You would think that there should be some help when a product you purchase does not meet even minimal standards.

We bought a one year old LG Trom stainless steel washer from a co-worker of my spouse when we moved into our new house. I was not crazy about a front loader but loved the price and the fact he would deliver it. To its credit, it spent the next 2 1/2 years washing up here, including the cast offs of 4-5 bassets hounds, which we foster for the rescue. We got an error code OE on a regular basis and cleaned out the two filters and it came back on. It made our clothes and laundry room smell and always leaked a small amount out on the floor. Finally, it would not clear the OE code although I could run it through the cycles manually. When I checked on getting it repaired, the eye opening started. The first appliance store I called stated that something should be done about these being imported into the country. He virtually recoiled when I told him what I had. And only person in my area (southern Houston, not exactly the boonies) worked on these and could get parts. Okay, I called him. $75.00 service call when we can get to you, and it cant be applied towards the repair. Then I researched online and found out that it would most likely cost 200-400 dollars to fix it with even small things wrong.Okay....maybe I just will buy something else, like the top loading white Kenmore I have spent the last 50 years washing in. I checked around with two used dealers and again, they didnt fix LGs, would not carry them, and didnt want one. The used Kenmore is downstairs merrily washing away in 30 minutes time when the LG took an hour for most anything. Also, I could soak or dye anything in it. It left here with the junk dealer...Good Riddance!

Have only had the fridge for just over 5 years, and already the compressor
Have only had the fridge for just over 5 years, and already the compressor has failed. Came home to water all over the floor. All the food in the freezer had to be tossed. Tried calling LGs 800 number, and I got Craige, their automated whatever you want to call it. When go through his questions, you get disconnected. Tried calling 4 times to actually speak to someone, and every time got Craige. I guess LGs great Linear Compressor has a 10 year warranty, but Im looking at over $500 to have it put in as only the part will be covered. I wish I had read reviews about this horrible compressor when I was purchasing this fridge, as I would never have bought it. But Im like so many others and will have to get it fixed since it cost so much money only 5 years ago. Just sad LG cant make a reliable product. What makes me mad is they know about their failing compressors and arent doing anything about it with their so called valued customers.

Our washer and dryer are labeled Kenmore but are actually made by LG, they both function perfectly, wash and dry great, no problems in the 3 years we have had them, look nice also. Cycles are pre programmed for a variety of types of materials and are customizable within types. The washer has a cleaning process which is a bit inconvenient but just requires a little time to accomplish, overall we like the machines and would buy again.

Loved the size and look of this double door bottom freezer, made a little noise from time to time after 6 months in the freezer section, no big deal, very occasional... One morning 18 months after purchase while trying to make lunches and manage the usual morning routines of all work of families with kids, found all food soft or going soft in freezer!! Food in fridge was cool but not usual cold. Temp readings still said 0 for freezer and 37 for fridge... I called dealer who sold it to us, of course, Not his problem. Called LG who initially insisted I had a smart diagnosis feature which I did not, another 20 min wasted, finally a repairman comes over. Spends 10 min and tells us it will be almost $400 to fix for a new fan and compressor???? What??? I just bought this thing!! LG, you must be kidding me... not buying into your company anymore. Like EVER.

The washer/dryer are quite stylish, work well. The washer is very versatile and can clean small or large loads. There are a myriad of cycles, many I do not use. There are only two adults in the household. The dryer works well and does not over dry the clothes. My only complaint is that the washer takes way too long on the normal cycle. Thus I use the quick cycle on most loads.

Updated on 02/16/2021: My Husband and I bought a new home 4 years ago and we decided on all new LG appliances, LG Black stainless steel. We bought a LG Refrigerator, LG Microwave, LG Dishwasher and a LG Built in Oven (Double Range). So this past year we noticed Grooves on the oven Door and in the past 6 months they have started to Peel and Rust. We have started to noticed Paint chips in our food. Well, LG agreed to send out a company to see the damage and then they had the Audacity to say that I caused the damage to my own Product. I have never cleaned the oven other than the self cleaning mode. I do not even use anything other than Norwex in my Home. Its their way of sweeping it under the Rug. BLAME THE CONSUMER.Im 62 yrs old and they BLAMED ME AND MY HUSBAND to my FACE. All they had to do was change out the Door, but, yet, they didnt, instead they insulted us to our face. Would you really support such a COMPANY???? I have never in my Life been so frustrated with a Purchase that was made in good Faith. Now every time we use the oven to cook for our Kids and Grandkids, am I poisoning our Family???? We cant just go get a new oven on our Retirement, is this Company, LG, worth Purchasing From, Id be very aware in case something goes wrong with your appliance. Is it worth be stuck with a defective product as we are and no-one is there to back up your $$$$ Purchase? Give it thought before you buy LG Appliances.Original Review: I dont understand how a companys defective workmanship is under a one-year warranty, it has nothing to do with its normal use. My oven has a Monster in it, clawing to get out, I have the enamel chipping off, deep grooves that are now rusting, the oven is 4yrs old and expensive and Im unable to use it for fear of being poisoned. Please has anyone else had this issue or know of a class action in regards to the defect? I just may be the 1st. On LGs website there are others whove had this issue also. Should I contact them???? Im at a loss here.... Any Help would be appreciated.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator 3 to 4 years ago with Model Number LFC21760S
I purchased an LG Refrigerator 3 to 4 years ago with Model Number LFC21760ST and Serial Number **. Within 6 months time, the plastic shelves in the top refrigerator broke. The company replaced them with the same shelves after I called to complain. Within 6 more months or so, the same shelves broke again, then the long tray shelf cracked completely in two pieces. I did not call to complain as there was no point in asking for more junk replacement parts. This morning, when I opened the refrigerator, the light box had fallen and the contents of my refrigerator were hot from the two hanging light bulbs. I called the company service number above and was told this is a common problem and theyll come out to fix the light bulb box only, not all the broken flimsy plastic shelves. How can I warn consumers not to buy this product? It is just my husband and I who use this refrigerator, and it has not been abused. This was not an inexpensive product, yet it was constructed with junk materials. Please advise buyers to beware of this LG product line. Thank You,Jeanne

Model # LFX28978ST - 27.6 cu ft capacity French Door Refrigerator Freezer b
Model # LFX28978ST - 27.6 cu ft capacity French Door Refrigerator Freezer began with extra loud vibration while running which should have been a sign that something was ready to break. About a month later, the ice maker quit working on Wednesday so we called a local appliance repair shop to come out the following Wednesday to take a look. Over the weekend, the freezer started to warm up, as did the refrigerator. We noticed the meat felt squishy in the freezer. We ended up throwing away the majority of a fully stocked freezer full of meat and frozen dinners. By Sunday night the refrigerator was too warm to keep food, so we transferred all salvageable items to coolers. The repairman told us that he thought the Fresh Food Compressor had broken. We called LG customer non-service to learn that the part needed to be ordered and they could get it in 6 days but she emphasized ETA meaning NO PROMISES! (this is what she told me). The part was not covered, the labor was not covered, we were living out of coolers and spending $25.00 per day on dry ice and ice to keep things cool. No Way! So we decided to scrap the LG refrigerator after only 5 years, cut our losses and buy a new Sears Kenmore (made by Whirlpool). NEVER NEVER NEVER again will I buy an LG Refrigerator or one made by LG (as some Kenmore Elite models). We have also invested in the extended service plan with fingers crossed that the annual check up included with the plan will give us the advanced notice needed to fix a part before it dies. Lifes pretty crappy when your practically new refrigerator dies! LG needs to find subcontractors to supply more reliable parts when they manufacture these units. Really!
