Bought a stove from lg. This is a $2000 stove. New to lg. Just came out in 2016. About 3 months after purchase the stove needed a new brain, 2 thermostats and sensors!!! I need a new stove. LG executive customer service was rude and relentless. They would not replace the defective stove stating it just needs to be fixed. For peace of mind and for your sake do not buy Lg products. They care nothing about the consumer after they get your money.
This washer and dryer were rated about as well as any, so it was kind of a tossup what to get. You are supposed to use TUB CLEAN cycle monthly or more often (This on a front loader that is supposed to SAVE water) and after every time you use the machine you are supposed to wipe around the 2 gaskets that stay wet. If you dont, and even if you do this creates odors, sometimes even if youre careful to wipe all around. Wiping the gaskets down requires getting on the floor and going into the tight crevices with a rag all around. Also, you are supposed to frequently empty the drain at bottom and clean out the filter. This also requires sitting/crouching on floor and the first few times I had water all over the floor and under washer. Very impractical. So far it hasnt had repairs (2 years old) but is noisier over time and thumps around a lot on spin cycle. Poor design all around.
Bought an LG refrigerator in 11/2017 with the linear inverter compressor. It quit working in 6/2021. Even though the compressor is covered with a 10 year warranty, I fear that it will be replaced with another faulty defective compressor. We have an LG technician coming soon and I will provide an update on the repair status. I give the refrigerator one star because a failed compressor in just 3.5 years is a bad sign coupled with a class action lawsuit against LG for producing a defective refrigerator.
I purchased the LG Direct Drive washer model number WT1101CW a couple of years ago. It worked great the first six months. Now virtually every load you wash throws a U.E code meaning load is uneven while in the spin cycle. If you dont pull the load out and place it by weight around the tub it either shuts off until you do or fills back up with water over and over again. Rarely does it solve the problem itself. I would rather have a bottom of the line washer than this piece of junk. I dont understand how it received the Energy Star Rating when it waste gallons of water on every load not to mention the extra electricity. It makes you wonder if the Energy Star Rating means anything on products. Whoever is in charge of it obviously didnt do much testing on this unit. Companies like LG and Samsung make great electronics but when it comes to appliances not so much.
We upgraded to LG appliances 7 years ago. The Linear Compressor just stopped working. LG will provide a replacement Linear Compressor but will not cover the $600 cost for labor or the $350 for the refrigerated food spoilage. LG is aware they sold, and continue to sell, these refrigerators with Linear Compressors that fail after a few short years after purchase. If you are considering purchasing any LG products, think again and spend your hard earned money on a reputable brand. Do your research. I am so upset and disgusted.
Purchased French Door LG refrigerator from HH Gregg on 10/12/2016. Easter Sunday the ice maker did not work, the freezer followed. Called LG and was told that our warranty had expired. The warranty only last for one year. They said they would send out a technician on Tuesday. The Tech arrives and said he has to order the part (compressor) which would arrive on Friday. He is off on Saturday and Sunday so he would be back on Monday. The tech said that there are not a lot of tech that work on LG Refrigerators. Something is wrong any time a compressor goes up in less than two years.
We have an LG washer and dryer. The main problem is with the front loader washer. We find that our clothes always smells of mold. I have tried different cleaners, pellet fresheners, bleach washing only but the smell of mold is still there. Some people tell me the reason for this, is that we live in Florida. What can I do to correct this problem. Is there a recall on these units. Thank You.
I pulled out my oven to clean behind and under it yesterday. I have been using my lower oven more lately and its melting my vinyl tiles! There is actually scorch marks on the floor too. Has anyone else has this happen to them?
Bought a brand new LG French Door Refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot and here I am almost 4 years later and it has completely failed. I had the technician from the local LG authorized repair company and he diagnosed that my evaporator has failed and that between parts and labor it will cost somewhere between $1000 and $1200 to fix this LG French Door Refrigerator. What a total pile of crap. I would expect when paying $2200 for a new LG fridge that it would at least last 10 years or more without a major breakdown. So going by the rule of thumb on when to replace or repair a refrigerator since the repair cost is going to be more than half the cost of a new refrigerator I will be replacing this LG piece of crap with a new refrigerator of some other brand. Also I am now so turned off by LG I will never buy any of their products ever again in my lifetime and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.
The purchase of the LG Washer is by far the worst I have ever made. Despite complaints to LG nothing has been done. The finish on it has faded, during the spin cycle the vibration is horrible, knocking things off the shelf, the smell cannot be controlled along with the mold on the rubber seal. Now I notice chipping on the glass on my front loader that has now produced a crack along one side and is making its way toward the center. Never will I purchase the LG brand again!
I bought the machine two months ago and noticed my white clothing was coming out gray. I changed the soap and the settings (chose hot and heavily soiled), and it’s the same thing. I opened the machine during the wash cycle, and the water was consistently cold while the water in the sink by the machine is very hot. The technician from the store where I purchased the machine came out and found it working correctly; however, he also agreed that the water would not get hot. I called LG and discovered that the CW in the model number stands for cold water. In other words, this machine is designed to use lukewarm or cold water. That’s strange! I thought hot water was helpful in the washing process. I am now doing battle to exchange this ridiculously designed machine for one that will actually clean my clothing, and I wont give up until I have a replacement. No one in the appliance store understood what CW meant. They thought the W was for white in color. Good grief! By the way, the dryer isnt wonderful either.
I have a 31 cu ft. French Door LG refrigerator that I spent a lot of money on over 4 years ago and the compressor suddenly went out. Luckily I have a warranty for 10 years for major components, but lo and behold it does not cover labor. The 45 minutes of labor was $600. I am shocked for several reasons: I cant believe an expensive appliance less than 5 years old would have a compressor which needs replacement, its unbelievable to have to pay $600 in labor for 45 minutes of work although I have a warranty. I also own an LG Steam Washer/Front Loader and matching dryer. The washer also needed repairs (which I had to pay parts and labor for) after a couple of years of ownership. These are definitely the LAST LG appliances, electronics, etc I purchase. In the future, I hope to find a company who cares about their customers and stands by their products.
I purchased a LG refrigerator model LFXS25623S/00 in 2017. Refrigerator & freezer stopped working end of May 2020. Have been battling with LG for over a month. Last week they sent out a repairman that said it’s the compressor but he can’t fix it because it is under warranty?!? I have been given 2 case numbers because I am being sent from dept to dept with no resolution. I am bedridden due to terminal illness, my caregivers are having to bring ice every day to keep some of my meds cool and are having to bring in my meals because I lost all of my meats and no refrigerator working now to replace lost food. I’m only asking for my refrigerator to be repaired but apparently that is too daunting of a task for LG.When I call in I am put on hold to be transferred and then the call drops. This has happened numerous times. I received an email saying my case is now being turned over to the Defective Returns Dept. It has been 5 days and still no word from that Dept. I purchased this refrigerator thinking I was getting a high quality refrigerator and paid the high quality price but I am definitely not getting high quality customer service. Obviously with all the compressor issues LG knows there is a problem and should be prepared to offer resolutions in a more timely manner.
I bought a kitchen package and felt I was getting quality top of the line products. I am so disappointed with the easy clean function that does nothing and completely shocked it did not have the regular self clean function that I have had on all my stoves for over 20 years. I feel I went backwards on features. Oven works good and I like the convection feature. But cannot get it clean can’t use oven cleaner and thought oven cleaning in my past.
We bought our range in May of 2017. By Sept of 2017 it required its first service. It stopped working due to a problem with the connection. It was repaired and was covered by warranty. Now, it’s Oct 2019. The burners don’t heat correctly. The front burner is heating too hot while the left front doesn’t heat at all. Stays lukewarm. Then when I turn on the rear burner the front right comes on. My range is either possessed or just that jacked up. I wouldn’t get another LG range if it were free and came with a professional chef! Do not buy this product.
This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned! A normal cycle is supposed to take 57 minutes. It routinely takes all day to wash one load of laundry due to constant error codes stating the machine is unbalanced. This happens no matter how small or large the load of laundry and no matter how carefully you load the machine. It does not get clothing clean. I have to hand wash all shirts before putting them into the machine, otherwise, deodorant builds up on the fabric under the arms. And the washer smells musty no matter how regularly you clean it. I will NEVER buy a washer like this again. I purchased this one because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, but it has been terrible from the beginning!
Loved the look of this range but told salesman I wanted self clean. He said look it has Easy Clean. Not the same I found out 2 months later. Also my service book states I get grill pan for top of stove and small cleaning kit which I found out months later and was told not for my model... But the worst is my oven is chipping enamel - golf ball size chip. Also told not under warranty. This is a defect not warranty problem. So now it’s my problem to replace this part on bottom of oven. Is about $180.00 and grill pan is about 60.00 plus cleaning kit about $10.00 so I need to spend about 250.00 to get my range back to new. Remember this range is only 18 months old... My husband wanted a GE but I like how this looked. Wished I listened but won’t have this range long at this rate because it’s hard to get parts from overseas and customer service sucks and so does the company. Be WARNED!!!!!
I purchased a top load LG washer and dryer about 5 years ago. The washer takes 3 times as long to complete cycles than it should. It begins to rinse and spin, then the UE signal comes on. After rebalancing the clothes the rinsing and spinning cycles begin again and the entire sequence happens over and over. I now have to manually wait for the spinning to almost finish then stop the cycle (this even happens with small loads so I am not overloading the washer). The washer has been balanced numerous times as well. If I don’t monitor the situation it can take over 2 1/2 hours for a simple load of laundry to finish. I have also noticed a foul smell at times which necessitates the use of bleach and/or Lysol for cleaning the tub. The dryer has been fine but the washer has been very disappointing and I’m sure has cost much more in utility bills due to unmonitored cycle times when I am not watching closely enough.
Purchased range with 1 year warranty. Clock stopped working 1 yr. 4 mo. Offered to replace part but not labor. Ill put part in myself. NOPE. Someone must diagnose problem then order part then come back out and replace it. This will cost 10 times what the part costs. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy LG!!!
Just doesnt do a very good job of cleaning clothes. Wastes tons of time filling with water. Also front loader oftentimes wont spin due to balancing, especially bulky loads or small loads. Just an all around pretty lousy washer.
My husband purchased this set less than 5 years ago. Our clothes smell horrible, like mold and mildew. We have tried the tub clean cycle on the washing machine, have bought products designed to clean the washer, and we leave the door and detergent drawer wide open when not in use to try to keep mold from growing. Absolutely nothing works! I contacted LG customer support and they said I had to get someone to service it. Why should I pay someone to do what I have already tried? There is nothing they can do that we havent already attempted. Like others have noted, the thing also will not stay level. My washer is on a top floor and it sounds like an earthquake when the spin cycle is going. The dryer is no better. The clothes are rarely even close to dry when it stops and I have to continuously keep running it for multiple cycles to get them to dry. I should have just kept my top loading Maytag instead of wasting a lot of money on this piece of junk. I never had to buy products to clean out mold and mildew from the top loading Maytag, much less pay someone to service it.
It was a good deal. The other brands were white but I wanted the very trendy brushed aluminum look. It was also at a store where I could get 5% cash back on my purchase so that was very nice too. I really like how cold it gets. It has a little drawer for my veggies which is also a good thing to have. I enjoy using my fridge because it is well made and is a great color. Would like it to have Bluetooth or wifi so I could connect to it. A screen would also be very cool so I could display family pictures and videos for my guests to see how cool my family is.
This is one of the cheapest made fridges we ever purchased. The ice maker was replaced 2 times. We have had 2 leaks that were caused by the plastic hoses on the back of the fridge, for some reason they devolved pinhole leaks causing us to repair the basement ceiling twice. Zero support from LG.Domenic
This is the WORST appliance I have ever owned! Second day after receiving it we had to call repair out due to ice forming in freezer. So much ice in freezer we couldnt pull out the drawers. LG said it was a design flaw and fixed it. Fast forward. Luckily we had taken the extended warranty out for 5 years. In the 5 years we owned it before the warranty was up we had to have it repaired a total of 5 times with the last repair being the refrigerator totally stopped cooling. LG replaced the circuit board and said that should fix it. It didnt. They came back out and replaced the compressor. This fixed it but not totally. We were without a refrigerator for 1 full month. We had to turn the temperature lower than what it was actually cooling. I should have called them out again at that point but it was cooling. About a month after the warranty was out it stopped cooling to where it should be. Called repair again. They refused to work on it. Said they did everything they could do. Plus if it was the compressor again we would have to pay for labor. Also if it was the control panel, they only have refurbished parts because they dont make that anymore. We were concerned about it not being fixed after paying a bunch for labor so decided to have it taken to the dump after only 5 years and purchased a different brand that is made in the USA. We originally paid $2800 for this piece of crap!
We have a LG LFXC24726S French Door refrigerator that started dispensing water on it own. Fortunately we were home and able to stop it in a few minutes. We got about 2 to 3 gallons of water on our wooden kitchen floors. If we had not been home, a very different story. Has this been an ongoing problem with LG? Does not generate much faith in this company.
We purchase new LG products five years ago and have been totally disappointed with our dishwasher. It is the worst weve ever owned. It doesnt clean the dishes and now keep getting code 0E. Cant fix.
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not buy an LG washer and dryer! I purchased a high end type LG washer and dryer in Nov. 2013 and have had to have both of them repaired at least two to three times in the first year. At least during the 1 year warranty, LG did pay for the repair costs, however now that this warranty is over, I guess I am looking at spending $300.00 or more per year in repair costs to keep the units operating. LG Customer Service states that they will not extend the 1 year warranty or replace either of units. Buyers should consider other manufactures such as Kenmore, Westinghouse, etc. My past experience with Kenmore has been very good, and I am now sorry we did not buy Kenmore units. The dryer model number is: DLEX5170W and the washer is: WT5070CW.
My 22-month old LG refrigerator has experienced TOTAL failure - both refrigerator and freezer sections. That was 10 days ago. I have spent hours on the phone with customer service. I had purchased the 5-year extended warranty. No repairman has come. I waited two days for repairmen to come. None have come. I have not received an calls from technician or from LG customer service. I have made all calls and been on hold for hours over these past 10 days. Also, when I call 1-800-243-0000, I reached multiple service technicians that I could not understand. I am beyond frustrated and angry! To have NO refrigerator for 10 days is unacceptable! I would not recommend LG! Debbie ** Sarasota, FL
I have an LG fridge model LTC223505ST that has been a problem since the year after I bought it. I have had LG repairmen come out 4 times, twice in the last two months and there is still ice build up under the crisper and in the freezer. My husband slipped and almost fell in the kitchen because water had leaked from the fridge all over the floor. Ive told customer service that I have a lemon but they dont seem to care. And I hear that LG doesnt like to replace their models that dont work. They are the worst appliance company and I will never buy another LG. Customers matter, too bad they dont know it.
LG has a good reputation, has stylish fridges that work well and last a long time. LG has definitely met my initial expectations. When I do finally purchase another fridge it will most likely be LG as well. Spacious, keeps items cold, never had an issue with it not working or things getting hot. Very good refrigerator that I expect to last a long time. I would like more door shelves and more drawers though. Very rarely it will get TOO cold and slightly freeze certain items, but that has only happened a couple times. 10 out of 10 even with that one tiny minute issues. Would recommend.
LG 7600 top loader does not have the capacity to really get clothes clean. As it drains it leaves a scum which gets left on clothes. In my 45 years I have never had such a poor performing machine. My husbands jeans were dirty and mucky from working out doors. I ran it on the best setting I could find. I took them out and put them in the dryer. There was so much sand and dirt in the filter and the bottom of the dryer. I knew the washer had not even came close to getting them clean. Because it has no agitator, the clothes are only bathed in water so really dirty ones dont come clean. Oh how I wish I had my money back on this machine.
I have bought on 3/03/2012 with HHGREGG the Refrigerator, Stove and Microwave since was advice were the best, sure the best piece of trash. The refrigerator the ice maker gets jam. When called the technician said wait till it breaks completely. The Microwave the glass in the door came loose and the microwave extractor came on on its own. Been calling for 2 weeks. HHGregg and the warranty dept said won’t fix since it’s not mechanical and LG knowing it’s an ongoing problem said I am out of their warranty. FOR ALL THIS APPLIANCES BOUGHT A 5 YEAR WARRANTY!
LG LFX259785SB/00 - 4 year young LG refrig compressor failed. Shame on LG but the kicker is after almost 1 week we were told by LG that the comp is on BACKORDER and MAYBE be in by September 1 BUT NOT SURE. Tells me that this model and others who use same compressors were bad from the get go. Who can go without refrig for that long??? My mother who is 90 and still able to live on her own is going through this as we speak... $1900.00 + and only 4 years of use. Had to go out and buy her a small refrig - just trying to get her by until and unknown time of repair. Food lost and labor should be included in the fix but it wont happen. Class action anyone??
Bought an LG French door refrigerator in June of 2016 and by May 2019 the refrigerator stopped keeping cool or frozen. Was never warned about the huge problems that the linear compressors have and that LG refrigerators only lasting 36 months. After spending 1400.00 and having it last not even 3 yrs is ridiculous!!! Nobody would even come to fix it because it would cost more than its worth we were told and would continue to be defective. So out of alot of money with bad LG product and had to purchase new one but never again will buy LG.... went with GE....
After reading many customer reviews I have to chime in. We bought an LG refrigerator 10 months ago. The compressor went out had to wait two weeks for the technician to come out to tell me the compressor was out. I told them when I called, when the technician comes out have him bring a new compressor. No they have to diagnose the problem first. All you have to do is read every review out there and you will know the compressor is the problem. Which brings me to today, yesterday the technician from A&E came out to put in the compressor that was sent to my house. We went to my grandsons birthday party only to come home and find my refrigerator warmer on the inside than I was on the outside. Living without a refrigerator is a nightmare, and then not knowing if it will work after the repair is even worse. So here we sit with a large paper weight in our kitchen!!! They continued to send out defective compressors. I am now waiting another week for the repair technician to come back out to diagnose a defective compressor.Too many people are suffering because of their incompetence. We cannot let the consumers in the United States continue to be treated this way by LG. Thanks to all the people who have written their complaints online.
Like so many other comments on here, our oven enamel is coming off of our 2014 LG gas range. As with other comments, LG dismisses it as a cosmetic issue. Our oven is convection and we are also worried about ingesting particles of porcelain enamel. I am from Calgary, AB and am trying to find out whether any Canadian consumers are trying to put together a class action lawsuit against LG for the above issues. Lets do something because this is not right!!
It is a front loader that is energy efficient. It was a reasonable price at the time compared to other washers available. I am not a fan of the upcharge for a color so we ended up with white. I also am not a huge fan of the way the water lines need to be cleaned out. If you dont leave the door wide open, it gets a funky moldy smell. I want it to be within my price range and large enough to do my familys laundry. I prefer name brands with reputations for quality and longevity. Regular repairs would make me flip. The washers are expensive enough as is that I dont need to be spending MORE money to fix it.
A year after I bought the expensive LG Gas range it started making a constant loud popping sound. According to Sears workman, it is normal. It is called contraction because of the cheap material. I am so afraid this is going to blow up. LG says it is normal but how can I live with this scary noise for the years to come?
I have bought LFX31925ST French door refrigerator from Home Depot with extended warranty for 5 years on Aug 2013. I had to replace new compressor and some other parts from warranty which took 2 months to get the refrigerator back again. Then last month, our refrigerator and freezer went down again and this time we were out of warranty and only covered parts and labor cost were $450 from LG certified technician.I have called LG and they said that they cant help and it has been 7 years and it is common to have compressor down, but I think my compressor was replaced 2 years ago. Can someone advise on who to call to file a complaint on this matter? I have distance learning kids and having to buy food for each meal is very cost consuming and I just hope that this time our refrigerator will work for long time, but need to know if LG has low satisfaction with high cost.
We purchased an LG washer new from Home Depot on August 27, 2012. We purchased a 5 year warranty from Home Depot at that same time. Today we noticed stains on some clothes, and discovered significant rusting from the metal under the bleach dispenser (which we never even use). I called the Home Depot warranty company and they said that rust was not covered!! I then contacted LG and they said rust was not covered but they might be able to do something. However, when they learned I had purchased a warranty from home depot they said they could do nothing. Meanwhile, there are numerous other complaints about this LG rust issue, including on their website from other consumers. We are now out of luck on a $1200 Washer. We did everything we were supposed to do. This is a product liability issue, and a warranty scam on several levels. LG is negligent. The Home Depot warranty is negligent as our less than 2 year old machine now ruins clothes and should be replaced or repaired. Please help us.
We purchased our fridge in July 2016 and have experienced issues at least twice a year since. Everything has been replaced to include the compressor. It has totally ruined me from purchasing another LG product. Life’s not good with this purchase.
We purchased a matching LG Tromm washer and dryer (front loading), approximately three years ago. For at least the past two years we have had a terrible time with clothes smelling sour and mildewy after being washed. Subsequent researched turned up countless complaints about this same problem. Weve tried many fixes some of which seemed to help a little, but the problem would always returned. The dryer unit started making a terrible thumping sound after about two years of use. I still do not know exactly why this is occurring. Some of what I read suggested it was the silicone wheels that get warped from the heat. Other posts indicate it is a problem with a crack in the barrel. My biggest issue at this point with the dryer is that it has never dried the clothes very well. I routinely have to run two or more cycles to get the clothes dry, especially things like jeans and towels. In addition, this morning I noticed that the dryer actually stops before the end of the cycle. I had it set for 1:43 Anti-bacterial setting (ironically to help with the smell from the washer), but the dryer cut off after only 30 minutes.Considering how much we paid for these items, it is very upsetting and frustrating. I have not contacted LG, in part because so many have done so to no avail and I dont have time to waste on such useless attempts.
We just bought our LG refrigerator and sometimes we close the refrigerator door the freezer door opens. Sometimes it closes itself. Sometimes it stays open. Im thinking this is a poor design. Buyer beware.
Bought an LG refrigerator for 4 years ago. 2 months ago our refrigerator and freezer stopped working. We lost everything in the fridge and freezer. As we no longer had a warranty on it we used our American Home Shield warranty. They sent a technician out to diagnose that it was the compressor. The repairman stated there was 10 year warranty on the compressors because of problems that LG has had. Because of that he couldnt fix our refrigerator LG did not contract with them for warranty work after waiting a week for him to get there. American Home Shield then sent out Sears not to fix the problem but to diagnose it again. That was the end of week two. We then had to wait another week for the compressor to come in and for Sears to come and fix it.3 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. Living out of A cooler. The 1st technician told us, Dont be surprised if something else goes out because your compressor has made your refrigerator work too hard as it was dying. Sears tech however denied this statement and said no. Once we fix the compressor no problem. Well its now 2 months later my fridge and freezer do not work again. Lost everything again. Took a week for American Home Shield to have Sears come out again for a recall on their original work and he is determined it is the motherboard that is bad and he cant tell if the compressor is bad because the motherboard is not working so well have to wait until the motherboard comes and he fixes it and then we might have to wait again for a new compressor. Once we fix it no problem. BS.Not happy with this LG product. I got it because of all the problems I had with my Frigidaire. Is there not a refrigerator company out there that is selling quality products. So now that Ive lost two freezer full of food two refrigerators fulls of food and living out of a ice chest for now for weeks and more to go Im not a happy camper with LG. Not to mention we go thru bags of ice at $4 a bag and have to put new bag in every other day. So at 4 weeks so far with both repairs LG has cost me $56.00 in ice and we dont even have it fixed yet.
In less than two years the compressor failed. Waited six weeks for parts for replacement. Refrig failed again a year later. Repaired again. Now everything defrosted again and refrig at 50 degrees. This happened a week ago for two days then started functioning again. Today got up to defrosted freezer and refrig warming. On my way to refrig shop—not for LG!
The refrigerator was made in Mexico and it broke down after 3 years. On a 10 year guarantee, the compressor was no good. It was made in Korea? Also the new one was made by LG and made in the USA. WHY is LG supplier using inferior parts?
Buyer Beware of Linear Compression. We purchased this fridge less than 3 years ago and it stopped working 3 days ago. Hours and hours on the phone with LG, 2 service companies later, 1 1/2 days of missed work, and we know exactly the same thing we did when we first called... the compressor has died. Now theyre fighting with the service company LG sent out to us on who should order the part(s) and are telling us they may have it to fix in another week. WEEK! A quick google search will show you there are multiple class action lawsuits for this type of compression unit. LG has known it will not last. And when it fails, as it will, hundreds of $$ of food in the trash, $$ for takeout for a week, missed time from work to meet technicians that cant help and hours and hours on the phone with LG is what will be in your future.
Not even 3 years ago we purchased a $2,400 refrigerator that was on sale. Well a month ago the fridge quit cooling and the warranty covered parts. Called and explained the problem and we were told to turn off the fridge for 24 hours and it might restart. I explained my food is going bad and do you tell all customers to turn their fairly new appliances off for a restart. The LG rep. giggled and said if I called out someone without trying a restart it would cost more money. After a month and three visits from a serviceman he tells me the fridge is bad. LG going on policy I guess with little concern about our family and us having no way of cooling our food offers to prorate our fridge giving us approximately $850. Kicker another two weeks for a check. The last of several supervisor tells me, You can still go buy a fridge if you want, you just wont get your check till the 19th. Bottom line, no concern or compassion for a customer. I will never own LG again.
I spent $2,000 on an LG refrigerator in October of 2016. It has not worked since April of 2018. I have made over 30 calls to LG. They have sent 4 technicians out to repair. Each technician has said it is unrepairable and sent necessary paperwork to LG for replacement. I have even submitted a report with the BBB and sent all necessary receipts for fridge and lost food like they requested for replacement and compensation for food lost. LG said they would call back within 5 days and take care of. NOTHING. I have now called 5 times in the last week and even if you get someone to answer - they ask the SAME THING give us your email address so we can send you link to a website to upload your proof of purchase. They NEVER send you an email!! Lies, lies, lies!!! They are crooks!! Their product is junk and their customer service is even worse!! Beware - NEVER buy an LG product!!
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator from H.H.Gregg 3/14/2015, I paid 3,023.99. June 2015, the freezer broke froze up and all my frozen food defrosted. I called H.H Gregg, they said that since the refrigerator was not yet a year old, that I would have to deal with L.G. I called L.G. They sent someone out to repair the fridge, he had to thaw out the ice with a hair dryer, said that the fan motor was gone, he ordered a part took a week to get it. He then came back out, put the fan motor on. It worked until November 2015, I came home about 11 pm, water all over the floor, everything in my refrigerator and freezer melted or spoiled. I again called HH Gregg. Once again they told me to call L.G. I called them, told them it was broke again, they told me it would be 8 to 10 days for someone to come out.I tried to talk to these people, they sent me to a call center overseas, they said they would not replace the unit. I then called the executive center in Alabama, worst customer service ever. It is now three weeks later, 4 dates before thanksgiving, still no fridge. Finally a LG tech came out, said it needed a new computer, a new compressor, and that there were some more problems. 5 hours later he took photos and left. Said beyond repair. Next day he calls, said they were not going to replace it and that he had to try to fix it. I called L.G. back, they were horrible, said I didnt have a choice they were not replacing it. So now the tech has it back together. Said he hopes it works. I will never buy another LG product, I would discourage anyone from buying LG. The worst People to deal with!
Really not as good as we had expected reading other reviews. No matter how hard we try to set the feet, the machine vibrates a lot. The clothes come out very hard. There are not enough spin speed options. The control panel is hard to read if need glasses - you must be wearing them to set it properly. Wish we had stuck with Bosch.
Had LG, only few weeks was clouding dishes. Called customer service, could hardly speak English. No help. Tech on phone did not work. Tech came out checked and gave us a few hints. Continued problem and friend told me how to solve it on my own. Problem yesterday with drainage. Appointment today. Did not show even though called and verified time. Did not show. No record. CS could hardly speak English and would not give me any help. They gave service wrong phone number. Tech finally showed. They had given me wrong number. Person who came out solved problem. Bad machine and CS. Do not buy.
I went to Best Buy, and I liked the LG refrigerator so I purchased it. The quality is very bad though, and I’m dealing with them for long time. It has an issue for more than three months and still they didn’t resolve the problem. For three times, they told me they’re gonna give me a replacement. They said they needed a proof of purchase and all this stuff, which I gave them three times, but still, they didn’t resolve the issue. I’m not gonna buy LG products ever in my life again for sure. And I will put my reviews about my experience on all the sites. Go with something else.
I bought LG model# LMV1683ST in 2012 from Best Buy. I pay around $250-$300 for my microwave. It was very loud and on 2016 it just stop working without a warning. This is a very bad product. I never overload it and it was only used by 2 people. I never overheat it, Max time heating was 10 min. Very short life product. This is a product to only buy for looks and nothing more.
LG Front Loading Machine - The worst washing machine I have ever owned. On top of the fact that the clothes don’t come out clean, it had broken down 3 times in 3 years. The customer service is condescending and rude. Adding insult to injury is the violating prices they charge to fix their under warranty parts. Never will buy nor will I recommend LG again.
Wf t6017pc automatic washing machine - Hi guys! I purchased the unit since 2005. Its worth it. Been 10yrs yet it didnt give us headache. Until recently, I’m hearing this sound like there’s a coin or sharp object inside it while spinning. The sound is alarming. What seems to be the problem? Please help? Thank you.
The refrigerators met my expectations. Ive had it about 3 years now and it still cools well even on really hot summer days. The freezer is really great. Also freezes well. Its also a very quiet device. Doesnt make a lot of noise when running. I like the color, the storage in the bottom, the storage in the freezer, the coolness, the size, the longevity and the pricing is great. But the size is kind of inconvenient for the fridge space in my house. It had to be set out a little farther than expected. The bulkiness wouldnt fit in the area. Its a overall great product. Would recommend it to friends and family. I feel like everyone should invest in one. Its one Im sure will still be in great condition 5 years from now.
Absolute junk. Has not worked right since day one. Cooling problems and error codes since new. 2014 by the way. More than a half dozen repair calls and still not fixed. Now out of warranty and last service technician says its the main wire harness. Called LG service. Horrible. Besides arguing that the fridge is out of warranty. Then tells me the wiring cant be replaced anyway. Now stuck with a shiny $2700 lawn ornament. Stay away from LG. Back to using my 15 year old Frigidaire apartment fridge until I can afford to buy a new one. There will never be another LG or LG-affiliated product in my house again.
Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. LG, as a very American, cooperative consumer who has purchased 14 appliances in the last year and done lots of shopping - this is the WORST customer service experience I have ever had!
My daughter and I bought a house with new appliances, (LG) the refrigerator worked for 9 months but it was three months old when we started using it. When it failed, we called LG and they said it is out of warranty, you can hire an independent technician or hire us to diagnose the appliance. We hired someone who said it had a defective piece from fabrication. We called back to LG, they said they will repair for $400 where they will include the defective piece. I paid ($400) and they sent their technician who came and in a 5 minutes visit he said he came just to learn what was the problem, he would be back (one month already in this process). The next days we received a phone call from LG saying they wouldnt repair it because someone already put their hands on it and that we can expect $200 hundred refund (from my $400 I just paid) because the visit costs $200.How sad, how unfair, with my daughter a young person struggling to pay her bills receiving a treatment like this one. Now she has been more than a month with no refrigerator, lost the money she paid for the first technician and again the same amount by having LG putting their hands into her account in such a way. Their only suggestion is to buy a new one. Can I expect a little of justice for my daughter? I m planning to write a letter to the CEO but I know the chances for him to never read it are higher that the opposite. I hope you can do something about it.
Refrigerator: Model No. LFX31945ST 3-door LG Ice & Water Stainless Steel 28 Serial No. 207KRWZ0A593 purchased on 09/16/2012 from hhgregg 1321 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112. Contacted LG Service Department on 07-01-13 Ref: Ice Maker. 07-03-13 Service Technician came out and ran a diagnostic on unit, determined that compressor was bad and had to order one. 07-06-13 9:20 PM Contacted service center and was advised that technician was due on Monday 07-08-13 between 8:00 AM and 12 Noon to replace compressor. 07-09-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. Unknown date contacted service center concerning error codes “er rf” on display unit. Technician scheduled to come out on 10-01-14.10-01-14 Service technician arrived to check on noise and cooling issues. Coil and fan motor frozen with ice. As technician was removing inside grille to get to fan he broke the grille. He defrosted the ice from the fan motor and replaced the grille with one he had in his truck. Set temperature for refrigerator to +34 degrees and temperature for freezer to -1 degree. He wrote up the service ticked and charged $81.98 for the “Duct Assembly, Multi (item number: **)” that he broke plus the $120 for service call plus $4.34 tax on the replacement grille part. 10-06-14 Sent Fax to a ** in the Alabama location concerning telephone conversation in which he advised LG would reimburse me for the cost of the repair part plus the tax. Fax included cover sheet, two page service ticket and copy of purchase order from hhgregg.10-22-14 Called service center and after a 20 minute hold to verify my status, was advised that I should hear from Alabama around November 3rd. 07-10-15 Around 4:52 PM Eastern Time, called service center and advised them that freezer was not freezing (temperature was 62 degrees and rising) and that all food in freezer had spoiled. Furthermore, the refrigerator temperature was almost 70 degrees and food had spoiled. Additionally the unit was making a loud motor noise in the rear of the unit. After trying to explain the issue over and over again I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes and 26 seconds until I disconnected the call from my cell phone, but not before I had called the service center again from my house phone. It was only after I explained everything again that I was informed that the executive staff (supervisors) department closed at 5:00 PM and that I could not run the “Smart Diagnostic” over the telephone because all of the service technicians in their department had also gone at 5:00 PM, that I would have to call back tomorrow on 7-11-15. The service center advised me that the service warranty had expired and any service call would be $120.00 plus parts. This was mentioned on three different times during the call. I did manage to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to the house on Monday, 7-13-15 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Total time on the telephone service call was 58 minutes and 44 seconds.7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about. Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type thermometer and freezer showing 5 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 3:00 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 9:30 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 46 degrees on a dial-type dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 7 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-06-16 At 10:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 11:32 AM called LG toll free number (800-243-0000) received recording and sent link for self-diagnostic. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again. At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer. Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule. He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically. On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor. While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts i.e. compressors, etc were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.
LG front load washer (WM0642HW) - The washer vibrates horribly when in the spin cycles! Our whole house shakes! You can hear the vibration outside the home! The floor vibrates when washer is in spin cycle! We have bought several different kinds/brands of shock-absorbers and installed them under each leg of the washer. Still no help! This is obviously a manufacturing defect. We called LG and they sent a certified LG appliance repair man to our home. All he would tell us was: LG makes a great product and use less than half the recommended amount of detergent to control the ‘smell’.” This is my second contact to you. Do you have other complaints against LG for this same problem? LG should replace my unit. I am willing to trade down just to get rid of this vibration! I have matching dryer. Together, these appliances were $1900.00!
When we had bought lg double doors refrigerator around 2 years back we were given 10 years warranty for compressor. Now when we complained about compressor saying that it is making lots of noise and therefore technician visit is required to see what is the problem. LG customer care representative said visit will be charged and I would need to pay 500 + ST. If I am paying now then what is the meaning of 10 years warranty. I feel cheated. Please be careful while buying lg products as they seem to be making false promises.
The washing machine has broken down. Either the rotor or the bearings have gone out at the 3-year mark like all the other people that I keep reading about. The 10-year warranty is about the most worthless thing that I have ever heard of. I can’t afford the $75-plus per hour just to get the free part. Count on this: you get one shot at me, but Ill never own another LG product.
Over the years we have tried virtually all the other brands listed, none can even come close to LGs features as well as getting the cloths clean, the capacity of their larger machines let you wash very very large items (sleeping bags, blankets, pillows etc) and their larger dryers handle the larger loads as well, they have great warranty coverage combined with follow up service, how can you beat that?
December 2008 we bought the pair of LG front load washer/dryer model of washer WM1333HW at Corbeil Electro. Weve made several complaints to LG about the problems with both machines in summer 2013. They send the Oxebo service company to repair both. For the washer they had to come 3 times, drain was not fixed properly and machine was doing awful lots of noise. They did came to fix the drain (after it had ruined my wood floor, without no compensation) but they never fixed the noise, they said it was normal even though it wasnt doing so much noise before.During the autumn 2014, the noise was getting more and more intense and was literally eating and ripping the clothes (the babys clothes were disappearing or getting ripped and the leftovers were found through the drain at each wash). I then did another service call on February 24, 2015 to LG, they said I would have to pay a fix price for each problem (about 200$ per problem for the noise, the eating of clothes and the drain). I decide to do nothing thinking it was too expensive. In April 2015, now the washer is no longer working, pieces were coming out of the drain, I called LG service again, but this time they said they wouldnt repair the machine at a fixed price. I had to call Oxebo service company myself and pay for time and material. When I asked why they wouldnt do the repair because I called a month before, they said the rules have been changed for this machine. I asked what this meant and the lady answered that for this serial number they wouldnt do the repair... I then asked to speak with a manager and the lady said he would call back in 48 hours, but after 2 weeks he never did.My thinking is that they know the washer had a problem to begin with, the company that repaired it did not repaired properly and the machine is broken and no one at LG wants to take responsibility for it. I dont mind paying for the repair, but they should at least offer to repair it since they know it wasnt repair properly a year ago.
I will never buy an LG refrigerator again. They have very poor customer service. They are very good at giving you bogus information and youre calling customer service in the Philippines. My refrigerator went out on a Friday and LG gives me two supposed authorized dealers, one never picked up the phone and the other one was closed at 2:30 and I couldnt leave a message because of a full mailbox. I took it upon myself to get someone out and had it fixed by Monday. If your product goes out on the weekend forget it.The one supposed authorized dealer said they dont fix LG refrigerators in Arizona anymore and LG still continues to give out that name, the other one said they couldnt get someone out for a week. They are very good at jacking people around and it ended up costing me 743.00 for a new compressor which is covered by LG but they said since I didnt call who they told me to they werent covering it. I had Sears products for 20 years and never had a problem. As a company we keeping signing on for these foreign products and they just dont last. I will never purchase another LG product and I will tell as many people I know the same information.
We have a six year old French door LG refrigerator, $2,700 purchased at Home Depot. It stopped cooling fridge and freezer. A local repair man told me it was the compressor and that he didnt work on LG refrigerators. I called the customer service number in the owners manual. The sealed system has a parts warranty for seven years and the compressor has a parts warranty for 10 years. When I called them, I told them that my compressor or sealed system was bad as the repair guy had told me. They acted like it was no problem and sold me a repair package for $459.00. They said that would include the repair and a year warranty on the repair. I said great and bought it. They send out the first guy after waiting several days. He said after a few minutes, the compressor is bad and he had to order the part. Well, after several days I hear that he is not coming back to fix it so now I have to wait several more days for LG to send someone else. Another guys shows up and says compressor bad, Im like yeah I know that. He says we will order the parts and it will take several days to get it. He gives me a card and receipt and is on his way. I wait days and never hear anything. I call the number in his card, they say we dont fix LG compressors. This is the same story that I got from the first one and this time I told LG to only send out a service that could fix it because I already knew that was the issue and they should have too since the first guy didnt want to fix it. So this time I was livid. They sent someone else that refused to fix it probably because LG will not pay them enough to fix it. LG continued to give me a runaround after they sold me this repair service for labor on what should be parts under warranty. Not to mention the fact that they screwed me around for three weeks sending their two chosen repairmen out who then refused to fix it but LG was not straightforward on that. I got the same BS story that I read in some other reviews that they say they dont have a repair person in my area. I told them that I live right outside of Houston and if you dont have a repair person in my area then you dont have one anywhere. They then said they would refund my repair purchase minus $100 for a service call fee. I was more livid! At this point I had been out of a refrigerator for over three weeks. We are a family of six with four children. It was our only refrigerator. We were living out of a mini fridge out of our attic and coolers! They did not care one bit. As I figured out that this was going to be a process, I went to Lowes and purchased a basic Whirlpool refrigerator for my garage. After threatening them with BBB and lawsuit, they refunded me my full purchase price of the repair package they sold me. I asked how they get away with not fulfilling their parts warranty. They offered me a one time chance to call my own repair man and I could call in or email his info to them and they would authorize him to get the parts under warranty but of course then I start over on service calls, fees and labor charges and Im sure, more runaround with LG sending the parts that my repair guy would need to fix it. I am so done with dealing with them. From the other reviews I read, Im lucky that my fridge lasted six years! I paid $2,700 for this refrigerator and we have kept it in perfect condition but now it is an expensive nice looking nonworking piece of junk! They are a horrible company. I called local repair companies and many dont even work on LG or Samsung refrigerators. They say their systems are too complicated and awful. I will never ever buy an LG again. I will not purchase Samsung either after what I have read and found out from repairmen. We have been operating out of the one I purchased for the garage and I am researching what to buy to replace my $2,700 LG. Awful, awful, horrible company for customer service!!! I will be purchasing Whirlpool/KitchenAid or maybe GE. It is really unbelievable what they put me through in this process and they do not care one little bit. I am a stay at home mom so I could be around without taking time off work but total and complete runaround and they lie non stop to you. They do not care about you one little bit and wouldnt care if you did have to take off work to deal with their scam and it is a scam!
I purchased LG refrigerator Model LFX28968 3 years ago. Since then I have nothing but troubles. Refrigeration section and ice maker are frequently out of order. LG repairman never solved problem saying the unit itself is defect and he cant repair it. He reported to service department supervisor about the defect, but the supervisor said to him it worked for 3 years and LG is not going to replace the unit nor will try to repair again. I got a lemon product. Anyone want to buy LG refrigerator must check the LG Service and their irresponsibility. I strongly urge anyone stay out of LG products. Otherwise, you will get stucked with problems.
My old gas range died recently, so I decided to buy a new LG glass top. It cooks fine, but I would NEVER buy one of these things again. Stains on the cooking surface are impossible to remove. I have tried all the recommended procedures and nothing works. Shame on this manufacturer for releasing a product with a defect that they MUST have known about. Do yourself a favor and look for something else.
Ive had numerous problems with my LG Washer TROMM WM2688. There is bellows hose underneath the tub that gets a hole in it and leaks every few months. It takes about an hour and a half to fix it. I’m on my 5th bellows hose now. It just went out again. Ive also had the water fill valve get stuck on and stay on. I had to replace it. It also has a problem with draining the water from the tub. I get an error saying water is not draining. You hit restart from the pause and it will continue. It could be the pump out, the sensor out, or the control board out. Not sure yet. If I couldn’t work on it myself, I would have spent enough on service to buy a new one. It wouldn’t be an LG. I’ll buy no LG products.
Purchased LG Washer in November 2020. Experienced several intermittent leaks. It caused the level legs to stain my floor orange. The stains cannot be removed. Come to find out after the technician had troubleshoot several times that there is an issue with the Deep Wash causing the washer to overfill. Quite upset that this issue exists. The board now needs to be replaced.
This has been the worse purchase. I have had this washing machine for less than a year and every time I use the machine it pills my clothes (making it uncomfortable to wear), pulls at thread (ruined a brand new comforter), and makes holes. Called LG customer service and they sent someone out but they could not find a problem. However, the problem keeps occurring. I called LG back and they are refusing to send anyone and says the machine is fine. If it was fine I would not be losing money in ruined clothes. I will never buy an LG product again if this is how they treat their customers.
I am on my second refrigerator since my first one failed and they replaced it. Now I am waiting on a repairman to look at the new one. What a pile of crap. When you phone they tell you to unplug the fridge for 3 to 12 hours then plug it back in. How stupid is that. What if I was on vacation. Totally unreliable.
I purchased an LG washing machine. First one came damaged as it was delivered without a box. The replacement which came several weeks later after several follow up phone calls is defective - leaking. The company and Home Depot refuse to replace. They insist it must be repaired. This is a brand new washing machine! I was on the phone with an ‘executive customer device rep for quite a while and she could not help. I provided information including the serial and model number over a week ago. I heard back from her today saying she could not have a service authorized until she received the serial number which was not on the receipt even though this was supplied to her on the phone. Sloppy handling. Poor processes. Indifferent reps not empowered to do their job. Never will purchase an LG again!
I purchased an LG microhood and almost immediately, the stove lights melted and burned through the plastic covers. Unfortunately, I didnt report it until after the year warranty was up, but when I did report it, they still wouldnt stand behind their product. I googled the problem and others were having the same problem. Any other appliance manufacturer would have stood behind their product, but not LG. The guy in customer service said I was the only one with this problem. I told him to do an internet search on this and see all the others with the same problem and he laughed at me and hung up. Yes, he actually laughed and hung up saying there was nothing they could do. This is clearly a manufacturers defect, plain and simple. Also, the plastic clip holding the filter in broke while I was changing a filter. Also, I will have to replace the light bulb covers every time they melt through as the plastic is burnt and cracked and can fall into food. The light bulbs blow quickly. Buying this product has been a disaster. I will never buy another LG product again, just based on the way I was treated by customer service alone.
The icemaker gets stuck, manually need to separate cubes. Also makes popping noise. Door seals get black mold. Stainless finish is impossible to get spotless even with dealers suggested cleaner and etches unlike my Miele dishwasher stainless exterior which cleans up perfect effortlessly!!
13 month old fridge went out completely. Over 12 month warranty but purchased extended. Still took more than 3 weeks before repairs were completed. Received 130.00 for waste of over 240.00 worth of food. Have bought LG before but will hesitate buying again.
Update 08/21/2019:After posting this review LG was quick to respond with to a private exchange to stand behind their product. We had several exchanges concluding with me sending them the details and invoice from the LG certified repair company we had used to assess the unit. Unfortunately after this exchange we have received no further communication from LG. They had stated they would stand behind the quality of their product however after more than 2 weeks of silence and a not functioning refrigerator I am losing confidence. I am disappointed that they set the expectation that they would help and then have failed to respond. Not only because I would like their help but I need to decide if I need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically the short term solve has been to use a 20 year old Amana unit in the garage which has never needed any repairs. Maybe we should go back to a more reliable brand. Original review:We bought an LG refrigerator when we purchased a new home. 5 year and 2 months later the board has gone out, the fan motor isnt working, and our repair man says the defrost is also not working. To fix it will cost more than $1000 with parts and labor. Very disappointed to be needing a new unit after just 5 years.
Our refrigerator is less than three years old. Bought it from local Sears store. Right after Christmas it began to not cool as well and finally quit all together new years. Called Sears. Local guy came out but out of warranty. Also they are closing or store so they couldnt service. Sears guy told me it was the compressor and that LG AND SAMSUNG both knew had bad compressors but they would sell them anyway. It is now four weeks later and service tech due out next week. After reading reviews I do not hold out much hope. I will never every buy LG again. Every LG appliance Ive purchased has been crap. Just replaced a 3 year old washing machine too.
I purchased an LG washer in Sept. ‘09. On June 13, 2013, I attempted to wash a medium size load. But when I went to put the wash into the dryer, the washer was flashing OE. I checked the manual and did as instructed. The drain hose was not bent, pinched or clogged. I clean the filter. Finally had to call for service and was told the motor assembly A/C pump needed replacing. This machine in not 4 years old. Guess thats why the warranty was for only 1 year on all the smaller parts. What kind of company makes such items and can only guarantee the said item for 1 year??? Thank goodness for Worry Free.
LG wave force knots up laundry all the time. Constantly runs rinse/spin to balance load, wastes water & knots entire loads of laundry.
All of our appliances are LG. Within the last few months, all of our appliances have started to go out. First, our Dishwasher stops draining water after a wash. The buttons on our microwave stopped working, the stove not only takes forever to heat up but the stovetop burner turns back on by itself after we shut it off. Can you say dangerous! I dont know what would have happened the first time if we had not caught it. We could have all been dead. Now our refrigerator wont keep anything cold but the freezer is still working. This is so disappointing because I was so excited about all of these appliances.
Very nice fridge, all the looks and gadgets that we (my wife) wanted. But after 3 years the compressor died and LG was a nightmare to deal with. It took ~5 months of tech visits after it completely died but they never fixed it 100%. Despite the 10 year warranty, they just said sorry and offered me to either (1) deal with it or (2) take a check for half the price I paid for it 3 years earlier and void the remaining warranty. So overall were looking for a new fridge now. My advice is DO NOT buy this fridge unless you also are buying a 5+ year warranty through an independent company (big box store) who will back it up, because LG will not.
Purchased this machine in 2010 for over $800. I was told it was fabulous. It was - for a few months. But then we noticed that our clothes were no longer smelling clean. In fact they come out smelling worse than when they went in dirty. There is just nothing that can prepare you for getting out of the shower, grabbing a clean towel and experiencing a smell so sour and disgusting, that you feel as though you need to shower again. They told us that we need to maintain our machine every month. What??? Is this a joke? The energy efficient uses less water machine they bragged about - we are now being told we should run 1 to 3 cleaning cycles, with special, expensive chemicals, EVERY month. EVERY MONTH for the life of the machine. I must do this in order to have clean laundry. Am I the only person who finds this absolutely insane??? I now have to take more effort and money every month to maintain my machine, then it actually took to do my laundry with my old machine. If doing my laundry with an LG washer is going to take this much effort... I might as well drag my laundry down to the creek and scrub it on some rocks. That would actually be quicker and more cost effective and, work better!!! I have called customer service (a bunch of foreign speaking people) numerous times. This last time was the last straw. They do not care for your opinion. They speak to you as though you are the problem. When I explained to the guy that the entire area around my bleach cup has completely rusted - guess what - thats right - it is my fault, and no one else on the planet has had this problem. I called knowing that my warranty is long gone but I told him I just wanted to give them feedback from a consumer about how I felt about their product. But, as you already know he doesnt care. He kept telling me to wash out my machine, and that I dont understand how to maintain my machine. I guess judging from the 100s of 1- star reviews, and similar complaints no one else on Earth knows how to do that either. So here is the bottom line. I own a business cleaning resort units. I have dealt with every machine known to man. I have only ever seen one other machine as junkie as this. I will NEVER buy another LG washer. I will go back to old school, agitator... where my clothes are actually coming out clean, and I never, ever, ever had to wash my machine to keep my laundry coming out the way it is suppose to. PS - you will want to avoid the Whirlpool/Maytag (both the same company now) top loaders as well. They are just as big of a nightmare!!
We have bought LG refrigerator in BEST BUY 14 months back and it stopped working. We have talk to LG but it does not worked out. The service folks is asking 275$ for repairs and the product quality is question mark now.
I purchased an LG washing machine model # WT1101CW. Ive hated it since I got it home and started using it (9 months ago). It does wash the clothes fine, but then it attempts to spin dry, and there is the problem. The machine will sense that is out of balance (even just a little bit) and it re-fill the drum with water and agitate trying to balance the load. The clothes only get tied in knots through the agitation process. When it tries to spin dry again, its even worse. By the time the machine has stopped trying to spin dry, your clothes are sopping wet and tied in knots. Average time to wash, AND SPIN DRY a load of clothes, 2 - 4 hours, and several tubs of water (not very water or energy efficient).
I cannot believe this machine is rusting out- even washing machine I had 25 years ago didn’t do this - right where you add detergent. Wish I could upload photos - but I cannot. I have had nothing but horrible luck with their washing machine from start. Its sad nothing is made in USA anymore.
My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.
Bought a TV in August 2020. After 3 repair attempts over 6 months, LG finally agreed to refund my money. With much effort, I packed up the TV and sent it back months ago and still havent seen my refund. Had three repair attempts on my refrigerator and its finally fixed (I guess). But were still out $750 for lost food. Now, my 27 month old dishwasher has a control problem and rusted out rack. Both controls and rack have a 5 year warranty but I have to call some appliance-fix-it place to get them to look at it. I bet I get no repair, no parts no-nothing and a lot of wasted time for this. I have $15,000 worth of LG equipment in this house and they arent the least bit interested in helping me. I wont buy another piece of equipment from them again.
Soap dispenser rusts and is very annoying and dangerous to my family and probably could damage my clothes and eventually cause a flood in the basement. And I am unable to notify the company to voice my complaint.
We called LG to repair a refrigerator that was under warranty. The compressor to the refrigerator is not working (diagnosed by an appliance service that we originally called to repair). I waited on the phone for 35 minutes before someone was able to address the situation. After another 20 minutes I was informed that they only have one service provider in Washington DC and it would be 7 (yes seven!) days for the next appointment. My husband attempted to call again to follow up and was on hold for one hour and 30 minutes (Geisha informed him that he would be transferred to the Executive team) to determine if we could get an earlier appointment or perhaps hire someone else to fix the refrigerator and be reimbursed by LG.This has to be the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered. They are incapable of answering the phone, make you wait hours to transfer you to different departments, and then make you wait weeks to have your appliance fixed. I will never buy another LG appliance - their customer service and repair service is terrible. Buy another brand, and make sure you ask about the warranty repair timeline - LG apparently thinks a week or more is acceptable. Take your business elsewhere - this company is horrible.
French door, bottom freezer. Freezer space very good & easy to use with drawer providing better access. Door for milk and other items reduces times opening refrigerator. Would prefer two larger veggie drawers instead of three. Has larger meat drawer at bottom which allows for many shaped items. Just check local area for repair centers just in case something may need to be repaired for any brand appliance purchased.
We purchase this Kenmore Elite 29002 top loading washing machine in 2012. After about 4 loads of normal, not grimy laundry, it began smelling very musty. (*We are very eat clean folks...no children in the house, etc). Called Sears, they sent out repair person twice; they looked at the drain mechanism, messed with the computerized controls and made all cycles longer; suggested we clean the washer every week with purchased $$ tablets.. So now the machine that was to save money by saving water (High efficiency)... Would now cost out to $ $15/month for cleaning tablets!! They should take it back and replace it with a better model!
We bought this refrigerator in 2016. It was between this and the Samsung. I liked the looks of this one and it has a great reputation. I did not like the 3 small vegetable drawers, but thought it was minor and I would get used to it. I still do not like them. Celery doesnt fit unless cut. The only really good place to store big milk jugs is in the door which is supposed to be the worst spot to store milk. Other locations would make accessing all corners awkward. But these are minor compared to the real problem. The refrigerator stopped cooling about 4 months ago. The repairman said LG was aware that the coils had been made with inferior material so replaced it for free. (Should have been recalled before I lost all the food in my freezer and refrigerator). Since, the parts were replaced the unit has been extremely noisy. I can hear the high pitched noise upstairs from the kitchen. I called the service guy to come out again. $175.00 later I was told that it is a more powerful compressor and nothing can be done about it. I may have to get rid of it because it is driving us all nuts! Its unacceptable. Refrigerators are expensive! If this is the best LG can do, I dont want anything to do with their products!
I purchased an LG Dishwasher LDP6797ST on 1/27/18. On 1/21/19 just 6 days before the warranty would have expired the dishwasher wouldn't power on. A day later it powered on but wouldn't function properly. Scared I would have warranty expiration problems, I quickly purchased an additional 2 year extension and sent in a service repair via LG website. Two days later they contacted me and tried some troubleshooting over the phone. It didn't work so the rep said someone would contact me. The repairman contacted me 2 days later and said he needed to order a power board. Two days later he called and stated he was coming to repair. He showed and made the repair and the dishwasher has been working flawlessly. I also have had an OLED TV for 2 years and never experienced any problems with it.
I like my LG refrigerator model because the three freezer drawers are below the refrigerator. The freezer compartments do get smaller the lower the draw is because of the internal machinery of the refrigerator but that is easily overlooked. I think the drawers, especially the front faces of the drawer, need to be a sturdier plastic than what is provided, but overall, I’m pretty happy!
I have only owned this LG for a couple years. I wish I had realized this before I made such a major purchase. Please note: My LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working - first ice machine failed, then it broke and is not dispensing ice, then freezer and then finally entire fridge - lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they charge you to look and then they take their sweet time to fix. Last time it took 1 month, this time 3 weeks before he can come and look. They are the worst service centers. Last year it was conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 500 for labor. Scheduling the repair could take up to 2-3 weeks. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. I purchased a LG refrigerator and I am going to make it my life project to talk bad about service and this product. I am so shocked that this broke down two time in less than a year. Nobody wants to repair it. They all say LG is bad product in Fridge. I have kids and NO FRIDGE. I thought LG was one of the best, but NOW I AM do not think so. Repair people are not outstanding service providers and they dont do a great job as far as I can see. Model: LFX25976 ST/00, serial: 011KREL00716, compressor is the problem.
I bought the LG Model DLEX3370W in May 2019. Exactly 2 years later the dryer died. The circuit board died and it will not power on. I went to a local repair/refurbished shop and asked them if it was possible to repair the dryer. They told me it would cost the same amount to repair the dryer as replacing it. The dryer works very well when it has power but after about a year we noticed it would intermittently not power on. In most cases we would unplug it and plug it back in and it worked. This last time it is completely dead.
Product: Refrigerator. Model #: LFXS29626S. Recently I purchased what I believed was a top of line LG refrigerator. At the time of my purchase I truly believed that I was making the absolute best decision and that I was purchasing the very best refrigerator line that money can buy, however I now feel like I have made the absolute worse decision and I feel totally exasperated because my family and I sit here in our home living out of coolers for over 6 weeks and constantly managing ice to keep our food from spoiling. The problem is that this refrigerator has been out of order since August 8th, it is now Sept 19th and we are facing the 5th time of parts being placed on back order. If I had some idea of when the parts would arrive rather than facing the 5th time of being backordered there might be some peace of mind. Unfortunately, I have no idea when this part will arrive and will ultimately be repaired. It has already been 6 weeks of living out of coolers. I have called LG customer service multiple times and have dealt with friendly support people who try to help most times leaving the call believing there was a solution soon including being told twice that if the back order is beyond 10 days that the refrigerator would be submitted for likely replacement. No action on this yet just excuses when I follow up. My refrigerator was delivered Dec 2015 then began noticing problems in July 2017. I had a repair technician at our home on August 8th. Now I sit here with this top of line refrigerator with absolutely no idea when it will be repaired. In the past, I have always purchased less expensive models or maybe what could be thought of as lower quality brands. I have been fairly satisfied with these competitive brands, with only frequent problems requiring regular repairs. Understandably, I anticipate repairs on all appliances used in my home (those would have been better choices at this point), but this current repair, the time to get it handled and still with no solution is 100% unacceptable. I purchased this brand and model believing the product and support would be first class. I hope that you can comprehend how much of a great inconvenience this has been to be 6 weeks without a refrigerator to me and all my children. I need help and I need it soon! I am feeling inclined to make many more people aware of the support and lack of LG standing behind their products.
