I bought a brand new dishwasher & after installation from the first wash it displayed error codes. Called LG customer service several times. Finally they sent a repairman out who said the motor was seized. The dishwasher literally has run 2 times - the third time we got the LG error code which is a problem with the motor. LG wants to repair a dishwasher which has never worked. I tried to explain to them that I was not comfortable with that but their policy is they will not replace a unit until it has 4 major repairs in 1 year. I told them this was broken from the factory. They said there was nothing they could do but repair it. So far we have been without a dishwasher for almost two weeks. I am apparently going to have to either pay to have someone take it out, return it & buy another dishwasher (which LG cust service told me was a good idea) or do that myself with no compensation from LG. I even told them I have an LG phone and LG big screen tv but I will not buy LG again if they dont fix this & they didnt seem to care.

I purchased this LG Top Load washing machine 2 years ago from Best Buy Monterey County Calif. Marina location. It cost around $1,500. Since owning it I have had nothing but major problems. Constant repairs. Every component has been replaced. Today July 3rd, 2016 the machine gave me ERR codes and stopped working. Also the garage smells like burning rubber and the spinning was slow and the machine was struggling. Tuesday the 5th Best Buy is scheduled once again to repair this machine. This will be the 6th repair. What makes me mad is that I had a Samsung Front Loader that was like new that I gave to the delivery man from Best Buy. Now I have a hunk of metal junk. Would never recommend anything from LG.

My LG dryer is a standard front loader no frills dryer that was relatively inexpensive when purchased over 3 years ago. The appearance rating was simply because it is pretty basic BUT for the money this dryer EXCEEDS expectations when it comes to reliability, performance, and value hence the superior rating in those areas. When it comes to dryers Bells & Whistles DO NOT improve performance, reliability, and definitely not value. My LG washer and dryer were purchased over 3 years ago as a brand new set from HHGregg in my area. I was told by the salesperson all the reasons I should upgrade and CHOSE not to. I have NEVER had an issue with the reliability of either. They work just as well if NOT BETTER than their counterparts that were 3x their cost.

I purchased my LG Range in the hopes LG products would live up to the hype! In fact I bought all LG appliances. To my disappointment only the washer and dryer have lived up to my expectations. Anyways on to the range. My range was purchase in 2009 and the knobs became loose and wobbly by 2011. However, I kept using them until they completely broke off. After speaking with customer service and explaining the defect they reluctantly sent me out a brand new supposedly updated model of the knobs with the defect fix... WRONG!Fast forward to 2016 present day my knobs are loose, wobbly, and a couple have broken off. I called customer service and they tell me because they already sent out the updated knobs in 2014 they could no longer replace them. I explained it was a manufacturers defect and the knobs they sent out were the same defective knobs. The rep transferred me to Executive Services Corporate Office where I spoke to Jewel. She was very rude and short with me, continually stating Its our policy that we cant send out any more knobs and gave me the parts ordering department so I could pay for a set myself. She even went as far to blame me for the broken knobs saying that maybe I was using the oven wrong and she doesnt live in my house so she cant verify that Im telling the truth that the knobs are defective. She was cold and had no interest in hearing my side of the story. Basically she told me I need to eat the $150 cost of replacing the knobs every two years! Which clearly exceeds the cost of the range! She even hung up on me because I asked her questions she refused to answer because she knew it would expose LG as a fraudulent company that doesnt stand behind their product. I called back and spoke with Erica who was very nice and said she would forward the complaint. For now it looks like Ill have to eat the cost of the new set and repair the factory defect with a fix I found on YouTube which involves fitting a brass tube over the knob post. I hope we can win this battle against LG! Clearly the knob design is very poor engineering on LGs part or just too cheap to use aluminium instead of chrome plated plastic!

Purchased a brand new microwave with the new black chrome, very expensive for a microwave. Unfortunately we had a kitchen remodel so we wanted everything to be brand new. We called the store and they said that they had to call LG because their store warranty was only 7 days (ridiculous). LG said they would replace the part if it has no power. However when the service technician told LG that it had no power, they decided to repair it??? We havent even had the microwave a month. The new parts cost almost more than the microwave itself. I think this company is a piece of **. I will never purchase LG products again.

LG Electric Range- LRE30453ST. After using the self-cleaning feature in the oven, I noticed the interior looked as if it had been chipped or scratched. I then found pieces of the enamel on the oven floor. I called LG to complain. They asked me to send them pictures of the oven. After emailing them the pictures, they came back, said that it was out of warranty and I did not purchase an extended warranty. Their conclusion was that the chipping was caused by owner neglect. I was fuming since I did not do anything to cause this. I only used the self-cleaner. I asked to speak to someone in a higher position and was told that they were the highest I could go. I preceded to inform them that I would not take that as an answer. I still have the pieces of enamel that came off. I told them that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau and anyone else I knew to report this and they told me, to go ahead.Im stuck with an appliance that I wonder whether it is safe or not. I have a 10-year old stove whose oven looks 100 times better than this one. Unfortunately, I purchased a LG refrigerator and dish washer to match. I have been dissatisfied with dishwasher since day one, a hard pill to swallow.

We purchased an LG fridge and stove from Home Depot on January 3, 2014. We were given a date for delivery of Jan 24, 2014. So my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery. At 9:30 am we received a call from Home Depot asking if we had received a call from LG with our delivery time? We answered, no, we had not, and Home Depot staff said he would call LG to see when it was coming. Several hours later with no return call from anyone I called Home Depot (2:30 pm), only to be told that our products were out of stock and would now not be delivered until Feb 4, 2014. So upset over taking a day off and not even the smallest of respect for LG to call and inform us that our products were not coming, we wait until the next date. For Feb 4th comes and again my husband takes the day off work to await the delivery (surely if it was not coming today LG would have called to inform us). By 11 am we heard nothing so I placed a call to LG myself. It was at this time I was given the run around. I asked her if it was customary for them to not call their clients to inform them that their delivery is not coming. She told me it was Home Depots responsibility (I spoke with Home Depot and the told me it was their responsibility). I explained that I felt that was horrible customer service to not provide common courtesy. I let her know that it cost us money to stay at home for the 2 days and they couldnt pick up the phone. The customer services lady could not help me and when I asked to speak to a manager the manager would not take my call and instead gave me the number to call the delivery department. It was then I spoke with them and was told that it wasnt coming today either and had no idea when it was coming. Eventually we found out another delivery date of Feb 12. I wonder if I will ever get the items I paid for??

We bought this refrigerator Dec. 13, 2014 and thankfully purchased a 5-year warranty. It has NEVER WORKED properly. As I write this Im waiting for an appointment to fix the water and ice maker. We never get any ice. This morning the machine has started making a humming noise so I expect it will die soon so I called again to get someone out to fix this thing.

There is burn marks on the whitish pad screwed to the side.. It made a horrible noise which made me look..only a few seconds, butter did not even melt.. I called my husband to come look… I reset it and pushed start..of course it not do it to show him… this happened last week to me also… What do I do now.. First Id like to say that I am not a person often motivated to write review
First Id like to say that I am not a person often motivated to write reviews. I dont rush to review items that just meet my expectations. Youll only find a review from me if something is extremely worthwhile or, as in this case, seriously flawed. We purchased our brand new LG top-loading washing machine from Lowes in December 2013 for almost $700. For the first four months I was in love with it. Then I inadvertently pushed the stop button instead of the pause button when the load I was washing became unbalanced. Since the load had reached the Rinse stage, I thought Id just select the special option for Rinse/Spin. From that moment until just last week, Ive had nothing but trouble from it, related to being out of balance. After stopping it and restarting, the machine filled several times with water that almost overflowed the tub. I had to keep pausing and stopping it to keep it from continuing to fill. From then on, every load I washed had to be redistributed at least twice, most of them four, five, or six times. The straw that broke the camels back came when it took me all day to get one load close to being done. Before the final jingle, I would have to go to work and couldnt finish the load. The next morning I would come in to find the load soured and smelly, so I would start it all over. This went on for 14 days. Finally, Id had enough and called LGs customer service line. The CSR I talked to was condescending and snippy with me. I described the problem, only to be told that, either the installer didnt level the machine properly or SOMEONE (I wonder who she could be talking about?) had done something to the machine to cause it to be unbalanced. After I told her I wasnt stupid and actually did know she was referring to me, in a very rude manner she told me my issues were an installation problem and not covered under warranty. Then, she simply hung up on me. Since LG wouldnt help, I called the number for our extended warranty plan. Thank goodness we have that. The CSR there informed me that, if LG says it is an installation issue, then we wont cover it either. Maybe you should have Lowes come out and level it. My next call was to Lowes, still trusting that it might be, in fact, an installation issue. The original installer showed up in short order, level in hand, to prove that, not only is the machine leveled properly, our floor was absolutely level as well. He suggested that I go to the store and speak to the manager, which I did. Actually, I ended up speaking to an assistant manager, who with a sincere straight face, called the salesman up to the service counter and asked him to call the extended warranty plan for me. The salesman, who was the same man that sold us this machine, repeated what hed said to us when we bought the machine. This is the top rated washing machine in the country. We havent had any complaints at all about them. He did, however, call the warranty plan folks, who now were willing to arrange a service call. Now, out of all of the people we talked to during a two-week period, at no point through all of this did anyone mention that there was a RECALL on this machines controller board due to problems with... Can you guess...the machine continually being out of balance. Of all the negative reviews I had read during these two weeks, I only saw one where the controller board was mentioned. Apparently, no one at any point along the way wants the consumer to know that the machine has a KNOWN, WIDESPREAD, DOCUMENTED PROBLEM THAT RESULTED IN A RECALL. We only found out about the RECALL, because the service company, not wanting to waste their time on two service trips, called ahead to ask what issues we were having with the machine. As soon as my husband described our problems to them, their CSR told him about the RECALL. Said they would have to order the controller board and rescheduled the service call to a date after the part would be in. Their technician came to the service call with the controller board in hand, which apparently was already loaded with updated software. Since having this board installed, I have used my machine heavily all day for the past four days. The only out of balance error Ive seen was for a true out of balance condition where all my small load of clothes had ended up on one side of the tub. As long as this washer continues to operate the way it is now, Im happy to own it. To LG, Lowes, Lowes Extended Warranty and any other company who sells this product without letting their customers know about this issue and the RECALL, I can only say SHAME ON YOU! BE HONEST WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS!! After being treated so dishonestly and shamefully by LG, I will never buy another LG product of any kind, even if I am told it is the top rated product in the country. LG obviously has no intention of standing behind their products when there is something wrong with them. Im also shocked and seriously disappointed with Lowes in whom Ive had so much trust over past years. Apparently their policy is one of loyalty to their manufacturers rather than their customers. Heres a clue, Lowes. Without customers you dont need manufacturers. Im afraid I wont be shopping at Lowes for anything any more. And all of these bad feelings and sentiments could have been avoided simply by being honest with me about the issue and upfront about the RECALL. To all of you consumers who have one of these washers with similar problems, call as soon as possible to wherever you bought it and tell them that you know about the RECALL. Tell them you want it fixed or you want them to come and pick it up. Exchange it for a machine from a company who will stand behind their product to keep it working and their customers happy. Most of all, lets all quit buying products made by companies who dont keep the promises they make to us. If no one buys their products, theyll either have to change their business practices or go under. As for LGs flawed washing machine, it is my intent with this review to alert anyone who owns one about the RECALL. Remember: RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL RECALL. Take advantage of the RECALL!

Zero stars would be more like it! I have had an LG Steam Dryer for 2.5 years. It has never worked. I fortunately did purchase the Extended Service Plan from Home Depot. I have had it repaired 6 times and thats 12 service calls. It will heat a little for a few weeks and then stop working all together. The 6th repair, it didnt even heat the day the repair was done. Since then, Ive called numerous times and Assurant (the provided for Home Depots service plan) wont get back to me, wont send anyone to fix it, wont start a claim. I see it falls into the Lemon Law but if they can drag their feet for another month, one of the repairs falls off and then it isnt the Lemon Law any more. They refuse to do anything to help. Ive called Home Depot Corporate to see if they would do anything to help and was told no, you need to work with Assurant. I have also called the Gas Company to look at it to make sure it was hooked up correctly to begin with. It is hooked up correctly but they said the flame is so huge that its a total fire hazard and is now completely unhooked. So Im left with a $1200+ piece of junk and no way to dry any clothes. I will never shop at Home Depot nor will I buy LG anything again. Dont believe reviews that say LG is in the top for dryers because believe me, they are all junk!

We bought a new front loader LG WM3670H just a couple of months ago after our 13 year old front loader Kenmore (an amazing washer!) shot its bearings. The LG machine is only good for washing dust off your clothes. Will not wash anything heavier than that and leaves tons of lint all over your clothes... I am super frustrated because I am now washing lots of things in hand after they have been through the supposed wash. I use heavy soil and warm water setting and it is not sufficient for average towels or kids’ clothing.

We have had this machine for almost two years, but being very busy in our lives have never actually watched the machine go through a full wash cycle, until I did it just recently. I put an average load of clothes in it and started a normal cycle. A little later I looked in to see that the clothes were only about half-immersed in water during the wash. Clearly, this was not good. I see that many people online have complained about this same problem. I find that the washer will only truly fill if the Bulky/bedding cycle is selected. Otherwise it simply will not put sufficient water in the tub for a proper wash. My fix to fool the machine is: start the load on Bulky, wait till it fills to the desired level, pause, change to normal and proceed. This will not make the rinse cycle fill up, but if you happen to catch it you can do the same for rinse. Sort of makes a joke of this high-tech automatic machine doesnt it?

I purchased an LG gas range from Best Buy approximately 18 months ago. I have recently discovered the knobs have been well-documented as dangerous and we have had to replace all on our own. This complaint is regarding sparking on burners out of the blue! Sunday evening, my husband and I heard a clicking noise and when I entered the kitchen, the stove burners where sparking! The only way it would stop was to pull the stove out from the wall. Still sparking, it was unplugged and we turned off the gas. LG came out today and has no idea what caused this and doesnt know what to do about it. I was told to call them if it happens again. Thats if we are home and, God forbid, not asleep. This is so dangerous!

My husband and I purchased a brand new LG fridge through Sears only FOUR MONTHS ago. One month after purchase it started making noise, which has increased to the point where it is loud buzzing and rattling. We went to Sears and were told we should have purchased the warranty; they wont honor even a 4-month old bad appliance that they carry in their own stores. They called LG company for us and we are STILL waiting to hear from them, but Im not optimistic. The Sears rep told us that LG is notorious for not responding or fixing problems. We live in a small town, and there is no LG repairman locally; so we have to try to get someone up here from miles away. Not optimistic THAT is going to fly with LG. Furthermore, I do not like being FORCED to buy a warranty in order to pay for bad equipment only months old...its rather like having to pay protection money to keep thugs from destroying your home. Will NEVER buy a LG product again after our experience and reading other complaints similar to ours. We are going to try to see if local repairman can fix the problem and just pay for it as the costs projected for an LG repairman to come up here are exorbitant, and we learned from the Sears that LG almost never sends a repairman to our town. Our frustration and anger over this lousy appliance isnt worth waiting and arguing for months with LG Company. We are also frustrated with Sears for carrying a product with so many problems...

Our LG range model LRE307578B/01 stopped heating in early December 2013. Called extended warranty company for repair service. Nite Owl Appliance Repairs, Inc. responded and evaluated our range on December 17 saying a relay and heating element were needed. On December 18 the appliance repair company said one of the parts had to be ordered because the LG warehouse did not have the part. Over 2 1/2 months have past and still no parts. Have contacted LG, the repair company and purchasing company (Home Depot) for help to be told parts are on order. Appliances break, I can handle that situation, but waiting for over 2 1/2 months for parts seems beyond reason. I truly believe our range is a lemon and should be replaced. Thank you.

Purchased a set of Washer and Dryer from Home Depot. Just over the one-year warranty period, the dryer stopped heating. The service repairman was so rude I sent him away. I ordered a new heating unit online and fixed it myself and appears to be working ok now. The washer model #WT5101H top loading washer has never worked right since new. It continues to go out of balance when spinning and displays a UE error code. Then the washer will refill and swish clothes around for a while to redistribute the clothes and try to re-spin only to go out of balance again. It will do this a number of times and then just shut down. After doing some research, I found this machine was a part of a recall. I promptly called LG and got set up for a service person to come out and fix it. The fix was to replace the control circuit board. He replaced the circuit board and left only to find that the fix did not fix anything. It is still just as bad as ever. I called LG again and I ran a diagnostic on it with the phone and they said the circuit board is now just fine and their obligation of repair under the recall is completed but there is another problem with the machine. I would have to call for another service repairman to come out to fix it. My questions are this to LG appliance: 1) How can they possibly call this machine energy star qualified after running through so many spin cycles? Surely this is wasting a lot more energy than it could possibly be saving. 2) All this refilling and spinning is undoubtedly overburdening my septic drain field and wasting so much water that it is unbelievable. 3) With all the problems with these machines particularly with the spin cycle, it would seem to me that LG has a responsibility to provide a fix that works after all this machine cost over a $1K and it doesnt work and has never worked properly. I think my only recourse is to contact my attorney and see what legal remedies are available. Perhaps a class action lawsuit by all could convince LG to make the necessary repairs to make the machines to work right!! The only reason they get one star is that there is nothing lower! You could not get me to run fast enough away from LG appliances or any LG products in the future.

Both the store and LG says this does not fall under any of the warranties and there is nothing they can or will do. This is a $3000 paper weight at this time. It appears that there are many issues with LG backing their products. I wish I would have researched more and I would have never purchased a LG. I will never purchase a LG product again and will not give any recommendation to anyone to purchase a LG.

I bought LG fridge, model LFX31925ST, $2900, two years ago. Slowly, the fridge and freezer got warmer. By the time I realized it, I lost $500 worth of good. I spent three hours tossing food into the trash. I called customer service who told me to lower the freezer temp to -4 and open and close the door freezer door three times. Then, he said I needed a technician. I asked him how much the service call would be, and he said he had no idea. After reading all these other complaints, I think we should start a class action law suit and dense our money back. What a piece of junk! I always bought Kenmore prior to this purchase. I will NEVER buy another LG product!

Updated on 07/29/2020: LG response with a classic, there are not the way they treat a customer. The same for everyone because I read other reviews (too late for me, I already bought the oven). The reviews were mixed, but not good enough. Original Review: I bought it on March 2018, and is not working. No heat. I call customer service saying I think is the magnetron. It has a 10 year warranty. They say I need to call an LG technician. I didn’t buy the extended warranty because it was too expensive. So, I need to pay the labor. So it not worth it. I will not buying an LG microwave again.

Their advice... purchase new doors and pay for service call as well. We will never purchase another appliance from a big box store, in this case it was Best Buy. I also purchased an LG LFX31925ST Refrigerator and after 3 1/2 years worth of use it broke down. I spent over 5 months going back and forth with LG on fixing it, had numerous repair visits, where they tried to fixed the compressor and sealed systems. In the end they offered my 1200$ for a buyback on the fridge but I have to buy another LG refrigerator. There is no way that I want to give LG any more of my money after what I just went through. 1200$ doesnt come anywhere close to covering the cost of a new refrigerator. Just so everyone knows they replaced the some of the tubing that used to be copper with regular metal tubing that sits in a water reservoir. This attaches to the compressor and after a couple of years it rusts and you lose all of the freon in the fridge. I cant tell you how many 1F and FF errors that I keep getting on the Fridge. LG customer service is terrible. They dont give any power to do anything. After dealing with them for almost 2 months a started a countdown on my Twitter feed to see how long it would take to get it fixed. I started go over my problems in the middle of July. We are now in Jan. Right now I am contemplating on whether I want to use the 1200 that LG is giving me or not. LG is the worst.

This refrigerator is horrible! It almost burnt my house down! I smelled a horrible smell and realized the lights in my refrigerator had melted the housing it was in on my refrigerator. It was falling off the top, the plastic all around it was melted and when I wrapped a light bulb with a towel, it still almost burnt my hand. All my food was spoiled. The food was hot, melted and spoiled. Im so glad I got this before a full blown fire started before going to bed tonight. After googling the problem, I see this has been a problem for years with lawsuits (successful lawsuits dating back to 2010) and still 4 years later this is still happening. LG needs to have better quality control. Do not buy LG!!

I have always had good experiences with LG products. They are one of my favorite brands. Like that it is stand up side by side. It has water and ice on the door. It also has a light that brightens up the ice and water on the door. If I had to choose something to improve Id want more space inside. I do like the LG refrigerator. Its very nice aesthetically. It keeps the food inside at just the right temperature. I havent had any issues with it.

I have only had this product for 6 months and not only will it not run but the tech came out to look at it only to find that it needs a part that is back ordered. I paid way too much for this product for it to break this soon and for it to be this much of a hassle to fix. I have an event at my home this weekend with 11 people and NO working dishwasher, and no idea when it might be fixed. If LG cant provide the parts for their products, then they need to replace their faulty machines!

We purchased a new French Door Counter Depth LG refrigerator when we moved into our new home in April 2016. Within the first year, it stopped cooling. I called LG and requested a new refrigerator. I also called Best Buy where we purchased the refrigerator to see if they could do anything. They said because we didn’t buy their extended warranty, they could do nothing. LG sent a technician but it took over a week to get repaired. We lost all refrigerated items. After the first repair, it failed again and took a while to get a repair technician. We lost another refrigerator full of food. Shortly, it failed again within the first year. I again requested a new refrigerator. LG sent two different technicians, who worked on the refrigerator for about 5 hours, taking everything apart. I did not have any confidence that it would not fail again. In August 2019, it failed again. I called LG, who gave me a list of authorized technicians. We could not deal with more repairs, failures or lost food so we purchased a new different refrigerator. I would never recommend an LG product after our experience.

We bought the refrigerator in Feb 2020. A few months later, the ice maker stopped working. Service guy had to come back 5 times to finally fix it. For some reason, the model we have was built with a special ice maker. Last month, we started hearing a loud humming sound. When you open any door, it will stop then starts after you close the door. We called service and they did a smart diagnosis via phone and said it looks like I have an ice build-up by the fan and I need to defrost the refrigerator for 8 hours. Defrosted it and after a week, we got an FF error code on the ref. We are defrosting again and see what happens. Never had this problem with a refrigerator before. Hope this get fixed right away.

Purchased a matching LG washer and dryer (Front load washer model WM3670HVA) including pedestal bases for both from JCPenney in July of 2017. All was well until; Dec. 7 when we heard a loud banging noise coming from our laundry room. The washing machine drum was hitting the back and front of the washer so violently that I thought it would break the door. I immediately shut down the washer and rebalance the load. The same thing happened when I restarted the washer. Every time the machine went into the spin cycle the drum would hit the front and back of the machine with such force that we thought it would crack the door. The load in question was towels and wash cloths. After we removed the towels we tried it with a lighter load, tee shirts and underwear, same thing happened again on the spin cycle.I called LG and reported the problem that day. They stated they would have their service vendor call me. Never received a call. Four days later I call again and get the same answer. Still no call. Called JCPenney to report the problem and they tried calling LG with no luck. The appliance manager told me that LG service actually hung up on her. Today is 12/18 and I placed my third or fourth phone call to LG. Guess what, I get the same answer stay by the phone someone will call. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she repeats what each of the service reps said, Youll get a call from the center tomorrow. Twelve days and I have a broken down washing machine and still no call from LG warranty service. Never again will I buy an LG product if this is the way they handle their warranties. What are my options???Updated on 03/17/2018: Today is March 17, 2018 and LG warranty service still has not repaired the washer described below. My advice to any consumer thinking of buying a LG appliance is DONT. If you dont believe this review simply read all the other reviews that have been submitted and you will be educated to the fact that when needed, LG Service and their warranties may not be there for you. In my opinion they are the worse of the worst. I am 76 years old and the process of seeking warranty support from LG has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Yesterday I spoke to LG for about the 15th time and they outright lied to me again saying they finally had a repair service to look at the washer. I immediately call the repair service and they tell me that they did not accept the work order and LG does this to them all the time. Shame on LG when they wont help consumers get what they are entitled to. Tells you something about their product and their Corporate attitudes. Ill keep fighting with LG but future consumers should heed the warning BUYER BEWARE.

We live in Westchester County in NY. I spent $3,000 on a counter-depth french door with linear compressor, the model number was LFXC24726S. Well, it only lasted two and half years, then suddenly one day it stopped cooling. Contacted LG directly and they told me to call a local authorized repair shop for a checkup. It took days for the local shop to answer my phone call and then another few days for a appointment. The technician told me the linear compressor was gone and needed to be replaced. Also the circuit board was faulty, it resulted in lower voltage than normal. Although the compressor was covered under the warranty, its value was only $360. It is the labor to replace it my friend that is expensive, about $1100. Even if I had it fixed, its not guaranteed to last another year. So I just decided to buy a new one. This time its not going to be LG.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator LFX25961AL back in August of 2010. The refrigerator just stopped working on October 26th, 2013. The light remained on inside of the refrigerator and it failed to cool the food inside. I also noticed that the refrigerator was running much louder than usual. The ice inside of the ice maker began to melt and later that evening, the refrigerator had completely stopped working. All the items that I had inside the refrigerator and freezer have spoiled. I called the company concerning the warranty that I purchased along with the refrigerator and they told me that they could come out on Tuesday with no guarantee of the repairs being covered under the warranty. I have a refrigerator full of spoiled food and I am quite upset. Ive only had the product for three years. When you pay thousands of dollars for a product is this acceptable? I understand that things happen but this product should be fine for at least five years. I find this unacceptable. Bought 11/18/12, this will be my third repair. The first was the ice-maker which was replaced at no charge - that was 11/14 - 2 years after purchase. The second was the fan which was making such a loud noise that I could hear it in the other room. That was repaired 2/15 and I had to pay for it. Now the fan did the same thing - a horrendous noise, and now my refrigerator button reads ER and my freezer, RF. I spoke with LG Cust. Service who told me I would have to pay for the repair; next I asked for a supervisor and they eventually connected me with an executive agent. I waited on the line for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. She told me if I faxed her my receipt, they would pay for the repair. My telling her that this refrigerator was 2 years 8 months old made no difference. When I faxed over the receipt, I called them to make sure they had it and someone else set up an appointment, after much trying - since it was the Thursday before July 4th, for repair on Tuesday July 7. I received a phone call today that the company cant make it on Tuesday, now its Thursday. I have lost most of my food and I have had it. This product is garbage and no one should sell it. French door with water and ice distributor, bottom freezer, refrigerator LFX28968ST, barely 3 years old (still have one more payment), non-functional. Thursday, We noticed water spillage on floor in the morning but just assumed kids dropped ice and didnt clean up. In the evening we noticed nothing was cold and everything in freezer was defrosted and warm. Called LG, troubleshooted a few things, nothing. Even the SMART diagnostic could not be processed. We paid the flat rate for a service call.Friday morning, LG technician came, verified and said there was nothing to be done, non-repairable. Filled out the paperwork, took pics, scanned the bill of sale, sent to LG office and told us LG will replace and in that 72 hours should have a response. Weekend without fridge - good thing it was cool outside. Waited until Wednesday, no response. Call back LG customer service (located in Philippines). They have receive request but are still processing. Normally takes 7-10 business days, but since this is urgent, 3-5 business days.Well today, is 5th business day. I called back, they responded that it is still being processed, calculating the pro-rated amount, and someone will call us mid-next week. I ask to speak to someone in the department who is better able to help, but they do not transfer to whatever dept that would be, nor will they transfer to supervisor. I have a family to feed, and my home business involves cooking. I have lost the contents of my fridge and even though the temperature outside is cool, it dips below freezing at night and there are scavenging animals. Thankfully the children were out doing chores or someones could have been seriously injured or killed...our babies high chair was thrown across the room and nearly broke the window. Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

I did not like the 3 small vegetable drawers, but thought it was minor and I would get used to it. I still do not like them. Celery doesnt fit unless cut. The only really good place to store big milk jugs is in the door which is supposed to be the worst spot to store milk. Other locations would make accessing all corners awkward. But these are minor compared to the real problem. The refrigerator stopped cooling about 4 months ago. The repairman said LG was aware that the coils had been made with inferior material so replaced it for free. (Should have been recalled before I lost all the food in my freezer and refrigerator). Since, the parts were replaced the unit has been extremely noisy. I can hear the high pitched noise upstairs from the kitchen. I called the service guy to come out again. $175.00 later I was told that it is a more powerful compressor and nothing can be done about it. I may have to get rid of it because it is driving us all nuts! Its unacceptable. Refrigerators are expensive! If this is the best LG can do, I dont want anything to do with their products!

LG French Door refrigerator - I hope this review will provide you with enough information to stay FAR AWAY from LG. I purchased this refrigerator in May, 2013. In early September 2017 the compressor died. Until LG determined that there was NO qualified installer in the Phoenix area, they made a one time arrangement with an independent contractor to install the new compressor. Five weeks later the replacement died and we have been arguing with LG customer service to have a new compressor installed. This has been going on for about a week. Two weeks ago I had knee replacement surgery and I am to ice it quite frequently. It take a freezer to do that. My wife has to keep going to the market to buy ice for me. LG does not give a damn about anything. They will offer no compensation for food lost, we asked LG to replace the refrigerator and they just laughed it off. As of today we still do not know when this will be repaired. What a disgrace!

I purchase a top load washer (model # WT1101CW) from Frys electronic June 7, 2013. A year and 5 months later the main board failed. I contacted LG customer service rep to see if a warranty really does exist. To my surprise the panel only has a year warranty according to one rep (Anna) but another rep from parts (Mark) stated when, called by the technician, that the panel has 2 years warranty. I contacted LG rep to speak to the supervisor to clarify the issue but was given a run around.

Do not ever buy an LG washer or dryer. Within two years, both my front-loading machines stopped working and LG will cover none of the repairs. Save the money and buy something that is worthwhile. I was on hold for hours with customer service, and each agent I spoke to had a different response, always ending with We will be back to you within 48 hours, which never happened. I spoke to management, who put me on hold for another hour and ended with Sorry, we cant help you. I still have a dryer that wont work!

I purchased an LG refrigerator. I received it on October 9th 2020. By October 26, 2020 I was already calling LG because the refrigerator was no longer working. LG sent out 3 different technicians who gave me different reports with issues with the refrigerator the compressor, the panel and issues inside of the refrigerator. I was unhappy with the product and asked LG if I could get a new refrigerator or a refund because I did not feel comfortable accepting LG to repair a product I only had for 17 days. After going back and forth and speaking to one supervisor Cecilia I was told that I needed to submit of purchase for the refrigerator to an email they provided and that someone from the refund department would contact me within 5 days.I never received a call so I called them in which a customer service representative told me my claim was denied and he couldn’t give me a reason why. I called back on Monday November 30th. Asked to speak with a supervisor. She refused to give me her name. She transferred me to the refund dept. They then informed me that they never denied my claim because the customer service dept never submitted my claim. They put in their notes that I needed to accept the repair. It is now December 1, 2020. I still do not have a refrigerator. I have 4 small children and I have to buy food everything to cook for them. This is unacceptable and the worse customer service I have received.

We bought our range in May of 2017. By Sept of 2017 it required its first service. It stopped working due to a problem with the connection. It was repaired and was covered by warranty. Now, it’s Oct 2019. The burners don’t heat correctly. The front burner is heating too hot while the left front doesn’t heat at all. Stays lukewarm. Then when I turn on the rear burner the front right comes on. My range is either possessed or just that jacked up. I wouldn’t get another LG range if it were free and came with a professional chef! Do not buy this product.

We purchased our LG front loading washing machine in November of 2006. Within a few months, we also started having the clothes smelling badly, especially dark colored clothing. One week ago, the washer stopped spinning. We replaced the part. This week, the washer wont even turn on. I called the company for the second time. They chose to offer me a phone number of the closest repairperson (like I cant find that myself). I asked to file a complaint. As of today, I have had no one email or call me back. I emailed the company. Still, I heard nothing. These appliances are very expensive and should be lasting a lot longer than 5 years. The last washing machine we had was an inexpensive top loader that we purchased in 1983, and lasted until 2006. This is ridiculous! We also purchased an LG flat screen TV a couple of years ago. I had to replace a part in it already. Its definitely not a good life for anyone, but Lifes Good for the company!

Bought a $2000.00 refrigerator in 2014, three repairmen came out to look at it and said it is a leak in the cabinet and cant be fixed. They said to call LG and tell them its a lemon. Its been almost 3 weeks and a lot of money for repairmen, loss of food, no fridge and still no satisfaction from LG. They keep pushing me around from one person to another. Even though these were authorized repairmen from them, they tell me to call someone else and I have to pay labor again. My repairmen said this happens a lot to LG fridges and LG knows it. This company is making inferior products, scamming consumers and making more money on repairs. If anyone has any ideas for my situation, please help me. LG never has called me once with so much as an apology. I want this FIXED! For any new consumers looking for an appliance...dont buy LG.

Please be a prudent shopper when buying this unit. We purchased this refrigerator (LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator) two years ago and paid about $1000 extra for a counter depth unit. That brought the price just close to $3700.00. I did not get the warranty because I thought it would last at least five years. Nope. The Error Code E-IF comes on at least once a month. The refrigerator went in bad order about six months after we bought it. Luckily the year warranty was still good. Just about every month now, I have to use a hair dryer and defrost the unit so my family can get ice and water through the door. That is not good for a unit of this price. At first, I would pull the unit out and unplugging it for at least four hours. That is not good when the thing weighs a ton and it has to sit in the middle of the kitchen. I have now found a YouTube video of another customer that uses a ladys hair dryer to defrost the unit. I have began using a hair dryer to defrost the unit as well. It is much faster. Searching the internet, I have found other people who reported this is not a great unit to buy and they too have had many problems. LG should issue a recall or reach out to the many customers who have complained about this unit. I think that will go a long way to making the consumer happy. Again, it is the ice maker that is horrible.UPDATE on 04/08/2017: I had a service person come out and they told me my electronics board and the fan at the bottom of the unit needed replacing. Mind you, we have had this unit (LG Linear Compressor Refrigerator) less than five years. The technician said company recommended a new board and a new ice fan. The board only cost .74 cents. That is right.. Only 74 cents. I find that strange. Seems to me that board was bad. The Ice Fan was a tad more costly. Anyway the job came up to over $300 to repair. Issue one. I had to wait for the electronics board and the fan to arrive. The next service date that I could get was six days from the initial visit. So, I had no ice and water through the door. We survived. We knew that the unit would be fixed in a couple days. Six days later (yesterday) the technician comes out and installs the parts. Refrigerator worked well for ONE day. Just looked at it and a different Error Code is on R-DH. Are you kidding me? This thing cost too much to have all these problems. The fix for this is to unplug the unit and then allow it to reset. So, I have to pull it out from the wall again. How many times, I can could. Maybe I should keep track. I will do this. If it does not work, LG website suggests a service call. Wow.

Purchased LG French Door M/N LMXS30776S/03 during Best Buy Labor Day sale September 2016. Purchased Geek Squad coverage, because, hey $4k fridge, that would suck. Immediately noticed $5/month drop in electric bill. Great start! March 2017 I start hearing noises that werent there for the 1st 6 months. Call up Geek Squad, they send someone out immediately. They diagnose problem as compressor, which they are not allowed to touch. Call up LG. It takes me 5 calls over 2 weeks to get a technician to come out. April 2017 tech diagnoses that the noise is within normal range, no fix available. Early August my daughter starts complaining about warm cheese in her sandwiches. No one else complains in the house. Late August I learn that I had sent my daughter to school with spoiled milk (I informed her before she drank it). Thought maybe it might have been older milk, but I was pretty sure it was fresh. 2nd Monday Sept. I touch a Gatorade that had been frozen and moved to fridge door and it is warm to touch. I take an instant read thermometer and plunge it into various food and drink and measure temperatures of 57, 57, and 51 (drawer) deg. F. Call LG. Am told it will be 3-5 days before I am recontacted by an LG tech. Sept 12. Call Geek Squad and the next day I have someone out who diagnoses that the compressor is not working. Buy ice cream because I thought the freezer was working as it frozen some leftovers on Monday. Alas, the ice cream is pretty much just below melting point. Sept. 13, 2017: Waiting to hear back from both LG and Geek Squad to see what path to take. Geek Squad has been incredibly responsive. LG, not so much.

From day one, our 1+ year old LG WF487OCW top loading washer has stopped mid cycle with the UE error message. The start cycle that assesses the load size is a joke. It fails most often when I try to do a delicate cycle with a small load. I might have to rearrange that load 2-3 times or more to complete a cycle. But it can happen with any size load. With my laundry in the basement, I can never assume that the load I put in is done. Very frustrating to have to repeatedly rearrange the load. The machine will actually go into a violent series of moves before stopping. Washing machines typically last us many years. After reading other reviews, we find ourselves wishing that we had picked another brand. We actually chose this one based on good reviews from Consumer Reports! Sounds like we would only be facing additional frustrations if we tried to reach LG for customer service.

So, This was a great fridge for about 4 years. Then it stopped making cold. We have been without a refrigerator for over 1 month. Monday 5/20/19 will be the 7th time a tech has come out in an attempt to fix this piece of garbage. Im sure he will replace a part, leave, and it will continue to not work. Then next week a tech will come out again, pick a single part to replace and leave. Ill wait another week and he will come replace that part. Im pretty sure after compressor, valve, drying unit, main circuit board, and capacitor you could have replaced the fridge twice for less money. So, keep paying the techs to waste my time and rest assured I will never buy another LG appliance as long as I live.

LG LFX21960 - We have had our LG French door water dispensing refrigerator
LG LFX21960 - We have had our LG French door water dispensing refrigerator for 5 years and what a waste of money it has been. The ice crisper drawers are cheaply made and fall off their track on a weekly basis. This problem began happening within a year of use. In the last year (so 4 years of use), our interior light bulb malfunctioned and melted its own plastic casing, our ice maker has broken and had to be replaced, and our water line (the one that runs the ice and water of the refrigerator) has sprung 2 separate pinhole leaks. Those leaks have caused water damage to our kitchen floor as well as the wall behind the refrigerator. All of the problems have been fixed at our expense. Not only that, we have had to use the LG service repairman to come out and fix our model. We have not been able to use our own repair service. I will never buy an LG product again!

LG Compressor complaint bought 3 years ago (brand new). 05/15/2017 - When I started filing a claim thru LG protection plan. I spoke to a male representative and mentioned that he will send someone to check the fridge. We briefly explained to him whats going on. That the fridge is not cooling and since my husband is a technician himself, he knows whats going on to the fridge. My husband mentioned that the compressor is not working. The rep sent us a part for relay which when the (First attempt) technician came over to fix it. He said that they sent the wrong parts. He said and will report to LG that it was the compressor that is broken. We waited for the parts to be ordered. I called several times to follow up (month of May/June). The reps were telling me that the compressor is on its way and they have set up an appointment with the technician but the parts still hasnt arrive to the house. I even asked the representative if the technician will have the actual compressor because we havent received it. She said if we didnt have it then the technician would probably have it. When the same technician arrived to the house (Second attempt), he doesnt have the parts and we dont have it as well. He ended up leaving without fixing it and recommended to call LG again. I called and when I spoke to another representative, they said that it was on back order. How come they didnt explained it in the first place and sending the technician just to waste our time? I complaint to them and ended up talking to a supervisor who gave me a mini fridge that we picked up at a local Home Depot for the inconvenience because I told them that Im pregnant and taking insulin which I appreciate them for accommodating me.When I called and spoke to the technician. He mentioned that when its 40 days and still cant find the parts that probably we will be reimbursed. I called on the 40th day. That is June 26th. That same day the compressor came in the morning and my mother received it. However I was not home at the time so I asked him if he will schedule the service. The representative I spoke to said that he cant schedule it for some reason in his system and told me to call an 800-243-0000 number to schedule the service. When I called this number, they couldnt locate my claim nor cant find me on the file. The person I spoke to said that I have to call LG back to get this situated. Then they schedule me with Precision services who message since 06/28/2017 and said that they will schedule the service and we will get a call. Several text reminders received until on 06/29/2017 a text message came and said they are ready to schedule the service. Still theres no live person that I can talk to when they are coming. On 06/30/17; they message me again and wants me to explain briefly what the situation is. Instead of texting them I called them instead and was able to talk to someone who scheduled the service on 7/7/2017.Finally the tech came in the morning and my husband called me at work and said that the technician didnt fix it and just troubleshoot the problem about the compressor. He even said that why sent him there when they know that they have to send a LG manufacturing license technician who can fix the compressor. I got so furious and upset. I called them on 7/7/2017 and spoke to the supervisor, Angel who promised that someone within 4 hours will call me and schedule the service but no one called. I called this Morning and spoke to another supervisor named Chase who stated that theres a service provider that can do it and its near our location and will request it however, considering its the weekend that they might be closed. He said that I have to wait 1 business day. I told him I was told if they couldnt locate anyone to fix our fridge to just reimburse us. We have been waiting for so long. Its going to be almost 2 months without a fridge. Several calls has made and they didnt even call us back for the status. I have to constantly call them what happened to the back order parts, when finally we receive the parts, asking them when the technician will fix it. Now, they couldnt locate a license technician who can fix our LG fridge and still I have to wait. Theyre explaining that it has to be license LG manufacturing which I totally understand. If they know the problem, they should have located a technician long time back. I have this on file, the other technician informed them the problem since beginning of June. We are now in July and still no resolution. I will wait again on Monday for a phone call which is not for sure if they will find a technician and still by then he is still not sure what will be the resolution to the problem. They keep on promising and misleading the customer. What kind of LG protection is this, this should have been handled smoothly. When you have protection services, they should have a good contact technician that is license to fix with this kind of problem and not let the customer have false hope, give reason to wait and still be disappointed. Sorry doesnt cut the chase and were still inconvenience with this problem. Im pregnant and stressing me so much. I dont know what else I can do to resolve my issue and Im writing a complaint and hoping that someone from LG Company resolve this issue as soon as possible. I saw LG compressor complaints online and has 1840 which I dont know if they resolve it. They should at least pay attention to this issues.

My husband and I bought our LG refrigerator about 14 months ago. We were not offered an extended warranty and did not think to purchase one in the midst of the chaos of purchasing our first new home. Setting that aside, I recently contacted LG with a problem and they refused to help us saying I needed to pay a service company to come out for something I feel they should take responsibility for. The issue being that a screw had come loose behind the ice maker and completely unaware, had dropped into our ice causing it to go into my husbands smoothie. While in the NutriBullet I heard a noise, assuming it was the ice, like it always does, then when it continued I went to stop the machine, it was too late, because just then the screw burst out the side causing a terrible mess everywhere. Now I need to replace the cup and chopped up blade to our NutriBullet. LG wants to take no responsibility whatsoever. I personally feel they should at least send me a replacement screw and possibly help pay for the replacements. My opinion is this was a defect and should be covered, being it was barely out of the warranty period. I am just glad that no one swallowed that screw causing physical damage. My advice... Be sure to get an extended warranty, if its not offered, ask for one! Products just arent built like they used to be! (It was quite baffling trying to figure out where a white screw came from... Until I traced it back to the ice machine, and there it was, an empty hole behind the ice container.) Now to find a replacement screw for it, I cant afford to pay for a service call for a little screw. Amazing how something so tiny can make such a big mess! :/

We purchased an LG front load washer and dryer and they both work fairly well. However, the front of the washing machine is rusting! Yes rusting, right by the soap dispenser. It sounds ridiculous that after 4 years the machine is rusting, but worse than that was the companys response. LG does not care. They act like they care, they tell you they care, they express their sorrow, but they wont fix the issue. They do absolutely nothing! They expressed to me that I must continually dry that area. In the manual it tells you to keep it dry! Not that the design is bad, not that the dish should not leak, but that by not constantly drying that area it could rust! I asked if they ever heard of this happening and they said no. Then I searched online and found out, that was not the case. This is absolutely a problem! A $1,000 problem. Supposedly a reputable company but what a piece of garbage! My last LG experience for sure!

I have always enjoyed LG electronics and products and have never heard negative feedback. All lg products that I have owned have all lasted as long as they were guaranteed to last while keeping their word on the productivity of these products and much much more. I loved the double doors, large compartments, the removable bins and freezer shelves. The ice compartment size was amazing and never ran out of ice and had to wait on more to be made. I also enjoyed the filtration system as it did not need to be changed as often as a lot of other refrigerators I have seen. I would improve some of the ways the shelves were built into the inside to where they are all adjustable, making it easier to store larger items and more items altogether.

My top load washer blew up inside after using the machine for 5 years without an issue. I had registered the product and never received notice that the company had recalled the model I purchased. When I filed my recall claim LG had all my customer information, including my purchase price and old maiden name, but refused to process my recall until I could provide my own receipt. I went through days of searching and calling Home Depot and complained three times to call representatives that its unfair I have to jump through all these hoops when they already know the selling price to reimburse me for. They stated You have to reconfirm the price and prove thats what we owe you.Ive been without a washer for three weeks now and am out a hundred dollars in laundry costs. As well as $300 in lost clothes when the washing machine blew up and caught on fire inside. LG refuses to acknowledge these costs and the time Ive spent toting laundry all over. The nearest laundromat is 20 miles from my house. Simply refunding me my purchase price is a slap in the face after all Ive been through because of this machine literally blowing up and catching fire inside. My house smelled like electrical fire for almost a full two weeks.

At just under three years of being in service this model (31925ST) requires significant repairs that are of course not covered by warranty. I have utilized the poorly written troubleshooting guide with no remedy. This refrigerator sounds as though a helicopter is running in my kitchen! I guess I should not be surprised. I also purchased a dishwasher from LG and a range from LG at the same time - all have had issues that are dismissed as cosmetic items like the stove knobs melting, the plastic calibration strip off or the dishwasher rack that does not remain in position. I will go back to GE! The stainless steel on LG is so thin that by looking at it wrong it seems to dent!

We were told by the technician the newer models are cheaply made and not as insulated that is why you hear the noise. Cannot be fixed. Dealing will LG warranty company is another issue. Long hold time and issues getting a service company to come out. I would never recommend a LG product. We also have an LG microwave purchased at same time is now out. Have to wait a week to get someone out. I wish I had my old refrigerator back. Worked fine. Just decided to upgrade appliance. Big mistake.

We bought our french door fridge in 2007. First I noticed that the shelves sag, and dont seem to hold weight very well. I had to replace the door to the pull out drawers twice, and Ive just put in a second service call regarding the ice maker. We replaced it once already, for the price of $412. If we have to replace it again, we will have spent $1,000 on repairs, for a fridge that cost $2,000. I will never buy an LG product again. And if youre thinking, maybe were being a little rough with the appliance, our family consists of two adults, period.

We bought the whole set from Home depot of the LG in wall oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. We recently ran the self clean on the in wall oven for the first time. It started smoking, locked and completely died. We had a service person come out and it was a faulty thermostat. They said they see problems when the clean cycle is run on these all the time. Cost $270 to repair, but it caused horrible brown marks to my cabinets. The oven is two years old. Were not sure what were going to do about the cabinet damage yet, but Im sure it will be a costly repair/replacement. I would not recommend the LG in wall oven. The service through home depot was horrible and all LG did was recommend a service person.

I want to lodge a complaint about a repair I had done last week that I dont think I should be responsible for. I purchased the DLEX3360 dryer in May 2011, along with the washer, for $1900 at home depot. I had an extended one year warranty with my Chase Freedom credit card. Within the warranty period of 2 years, my husband tried to quickly clean my sons soccer uniform on the steam cycle one day. It came out wet. I called LG (I dont remember the date, but it was the previous Fall 2012) and they told me that I didnt put enough clothing in the dryer, that it was too light. At that point, it was too late to dry the uniform so he borrowed another last minute. But based on their response, I assumed the machine was working and that I would figure out how to use the steam cycle eventually. Then, two weeks ago, I was preparing for my sons bar mitzvah party and I had 15 table clothes to iron. My aunt was helping and she thought we could put them in one at a time in the dryer since they were large. Again, they came out wet. My aunt said she has experience with steam dryers as she has a clothing business, and she said this was not normal. So I called customer service again and, as per their advice, I tried putting smaller items in (like cotton-poly shirts). The same thing happened. Everything was soaked. I told LG that when this problem happened over a year ago, LG said that I didnt put enough in the dryer. This time, the representative only said that it was after the warranty period and I was responsible. I was fuming. I had to get it fixed, so I paid the LG repair man ($228) with the understanding that I would talk to LG and get it straightened out.It took him 3 days to fix it (over 10 hours of labor). Apparently, the generator was shot. This was a major inconvenience as I had relatives staying with us for the bar mitzvah and we could not get out of the house through the mud room. I don’t see how we were responsible for blowing out the generator. It was a manufacturer’s defect. The repair man said it looked like it never worked. I do not think that I should be responsible for the repairs as LG led me to believe that the dryer was working and I didnt know how to use it, when I originally called.

I wish I read about LG Brand before I bought my Refrigerator. I bought the top of the line French Door Fridge. Cost me $3500 thinking it would last. NOPE. I have had only trouble since I bought it 6 years ago. I have had LG come in to fix at least 5 times (ice issue, cooling issue, light issue, etc.). Now it is the sealing issue. Doesnt freeze or stay cool anymore. I have called numerous places to fix it but they cant even fix it. No one can fix an LG product! I get it... its 6 years old but I am willing to pay for it but no one can fix it. I called LG so I can get some assistance but the operators doesnt speak English! They sound like they are just reading from a screen and they are repeating what they are saying. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy an LG product. They do not stand by their own product!

Our washer/dryer set (WM2016) was purchased from Sears about 4 years ago. My wife has always complained about the stench in the tub. Then last week, she was complaining about a smell (different). The next night, I came home from work and she said it was smelling again. When I got to the laundry room, the smoke alarm started sounding and I could not see the washer. After getting in and shutting it off, the drum was on fire which was quickly extinguished. I pulled the washer out and unplugged it. At that point, I needed to remove the top to make sure the fire was out, which it was. The next morning, I took the machine apart to see what happened to our 4-year-old washer. It seems that LG made a part inside of the plastic drum that is made from aluminum that was not treated by any means. It corroded, causing the drum to contact the outer drum. Had we not been home, we could have lost everything. I will not purchase anything LG produces from here out. When contacted, they could care less as we have your money!

My wife and I purchased an LG gas range (model LRG3081ST) and found that it overcooked food. When testing I found the range overheats during the pre-heat cycle. After setting the bake temperature you can watch the thermometer increase by 5 degrees every 6 to 7 seconds. When the thermometer reaches 5 degrees below the set temperature, it stays with that display for about 2 minutes while the oven continues to heat. When the pre-heat notification sounds, the pre-heat temperature is about 100 degrees above the set temperature.I opened a case with LG and they sent a repair tech to look at the oven. The tech confirmed the issue and tried to order a replacement control board. LG told him that was the way the oven is supposed to work and wouldnt allow him to order the new board. Ive now submitted a customer complaint but dont have any idea if anyone will make any changes. I cant imagine LG would actually design an oven that is supposed to overheat by 100 degrees. Our current resolution is to set the bake temperature, go through the pre-heat cycle, let the oven stand until it relights to maintain the set bake temperature, and then put the food in the oven. This isnt acceptable.

Don’t buy LG appliances. The front of my LG range. The paint is chipping off the stainless steel. LG says this is not a manufacturer defect. After owing this for 6 months this is definitely a manufacturer issue. Don’t waste your money on LG or their very poor service. They expect me to pay $230 to replace the top.
