We have a 5 year old LG oven that began experiencing issues with the cooktop 1-2 months ago. The burners will work, but only rarely. They will turn on and heat for maybe 5 seconds and then turn off. Sometimes they will work for a few minutes, and then turn off. Never on long enough to cook a meal, or if you are in the middle of cooking it will power down to barely on and you are stuck. The front larger burners work way less than the rear burners, and the left burners are way more problematic than the right. There is a heat vent to release excess heat from the oven and glass cooktop located under the control panel on the left hand side that is frying the computer components in the control panel causing malfunction. This is a known design and engineering issue.I have tried calling LG, and they tell me there is nothing they can do. I tried communicating with them on Facebook and they tell me there is nothing they can do. There are many people documenting the same issue on places like Youtube and even here. Everyone one of them, right around the five year mark this starts happening to them. There are many replies from people saying LG did the right thing and fixed this for them. New computers. New control panels. The entire back replaced. Nothing for me. Super disappointed that our $900+ oven only lasted 5 years before its going to need a repair call and expense for me.We replaced our entire kitchen with Consumer Reports top-rated LG appliances five years ago. The dishwasher is already gone; too expensive to repair that compared to the cost of a new model. Still have microwave, and refrigerator. Oven is failing as mentioned. We also have two 65 LG TVs and an LG washer in our house. Doesnt matter how long we have been a customer, LG is making this difficult.

We inherited four-year-old high tech appliances. Within first year, we had repaired the dryer/washer totaling $600. Paid tech $91 to tell me I should buy new one b/c of broke Drum/bearings. After just 5 yrs? Tech said thats normal. Thats almost $1,000/yr to own including repairs, worse than owning a car. Are there any durable appliances out there?

I bought an LG Dishwasher in October of 2017. In March of 2019 (less than a year and a half later), the electrical control panel stopped working so I was unable to use the product. Since it was 5 months past the warranty, I was charged $135.31 for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. I was informed that I would then have to pay for the repair and labor after the technician ordered the new part. When the technician arrived, he had a new electronic control panel (so he already knew what the problem was before even looking at the dishwasher) and told me that I would not be charged for the repair or labor because this was such a common problem - that they had the NEW MODIFIED electrical control panels in stock. He said that in the NEW MODIFIED control panels, they have added a moisture barrier because in the old version, moisture from steam would get into the control panel and ruin the electrical system. I asked him why there hasnt been a recall on this product since it was so common, and he said that he didnt know why but there has been a Service Bulletin released regarding this same issue. I then called customer service to get a refund of the $135.31 that I already paid, and they would not give a refund even after being escalated to a supervisor. I asked to be escalated again and was informed that he could not do that. I tried to call the President of the company and got no answer and no way of leaving a VM or email. Considering this is a COMMON DEFECT in the product and a modified control panel has been created for this issue, there should be a recall and all expenses paid. I want my refund of $135.31 since this was LGs defective product and not anything that I could control! A complaint with the BBB has been filed and I will continue to let people know that they should stay away from LG products.

I have a 31 cu ft. French Door LG refrigerator that I spent a lot of money on over 4 years ago and the compressor suddenly went out. Luckily I have a warranty for 10 years for major components, but lo and behold it does not cover labor. The 45 minutes of labor was $600. I am shocked for several reasons: I cant believe an expensive appliance less than 5 years old would have a compressor which needs replacement, its unbelievable to have to pay $600 in labor for 45 minutes of work although I have a warranty. I also own an LG Steam Washer/Front Loader and matching dryer. The washer also needed repairs (which I had to pay parts and labor for) after a couple of years of ownership. These are definitely the LAST LG appliances, electronics, etc I purchase. In the future, I hope to find a company who cares about their customers and stands by their products.

We bought a $3,000 LG refrigerator in 2013. Countless minor problems are needless to say here. Just last week, the water cooler and ice maker stopped working. When I called LG, the representative I spoke with did not tell me about the common problems and advise me to wait a couple of days for the frost to clear due to the temporary ice maker fan problem. She entered me into a service contract that cost me $258.07 because its out of warranty, and said if I cancelled the contract it would cost me $100.00. Desperate to have the unit fixed, I agreed.Twelve hours later, the unit was back on. I called LG and said I discovered that LG had a lawsuit on the same problem, I needed a full refund. The rep. said someone from the extended warranty dept. will call me back soon. I waited 24 hours later. No one called. I called them back and requested the appointment and contract be cancelled and followed up with a cancellation e-mail. Today, the technician called me to confirmed he was on his way to look at the unit. I have never encountered anything like this. If you shop for an LG refrigerator, you better check the consumer review. I would think twice from now on before buying another LG product.

Our LG French door refrigerator stopped cooling as noticed on a Thursday evening. The next day, Friday, early in the morning, I tried to reach the LG call repair centre but I was put on hold. I waited holding the phone to my ear for about 10 minutes. Then I called Corbeil Appliances in Ottawa and I was told that I might have to wait on hold for at least a half hour. This is not acceptable. I did try calling the LG repair centre again throughout the morning but again I was put on hold. Then finally on that same Friday afternoon, someone answered at the LG call repair centre. I was then booked in for service the following Thursday which is about one week of waiting without a refrigerator to cool foods and medicines. This LG repair call centre and service is not acceptable. We have an extended warranty which fortunately was still in effect. The LG service technician was professional and repaired our LG refrigerator. He appreciated our frustration at trying to book an appointment to have our refrigerator repaired. In the future, I dont think I will consider buying another LG product as long as reviews re: booking a service repair, remain negative. I will also recommend to friends that they read the LG repair call centre reviews before they consider purchasing an LG product. Come on, LG product personnel, improve your LG repair call centre customer service!

My washing machine worked perfectly fine until LG decided to do their famous recall fix.... in which they insisted that we have done or our warranty would be null and void. What they should have said is, “We know you bought this top of the line washing machine, and it works fine but throw it in the trash bc when we send someone out to do this mandatory update, it will NOT work at all!!!!! Sign me up for any class action suit against them.... I have a family of 7 and a washing machine that is not functioning is not an option!!!!

I had washed a load of clothes and put a mattress protector in the washer and the cycle was almost done when the washer just blew up. I have had my washer for almost a year. I liked it until this. The washer did a total 360. It blew the top totally off it. Water went everywhere and then LG couldnt get out till the next day. This could have been a bad thing if my child or I would have been walking by the washer. It was so loud when it happened. This is a major issue and I will never buy another LG product. The washer was a WT5001C.

This has been the worse purchase. I have had this washing machine for less than a year and every time I use the machine it pills my clothes (making it uncomfortable to wear), pulls at thread (ruined a brand new comforter), and makes holes. Called LG customer service and they sent someone out but they could not find a problem. However, the problem keeps occurring. I called LG back and they are refusing to send anyone and says the machine is fine. If it was fine I would not be losing money in ruined clothes. I will never buy an LG product again if this is how they treat their customers.

Purchased my LG French door refrigerator in 2015. After the first year of owning it, the water lines froze up completely and started freezing the inside of my refrigerator. Service tech sent out to fix. Cost was more than what it should have been to fix a refrigerator that was just a year old. Then year 2 another service call and money spent out of my pocket to fix just to turn around and call them 7 months later. After more money was thrown into the refrigerator it was fixed only for a short time. In 2018, had another service tech come out and he could not tell me what the issue was. Call again, another service tech came out and we were told it was fixed. 2 weeks later I called again because the fridge had stopped Cooling yet again and again we lost most of the food inside. This time we were sent parts and the Tech that came out said it would cost over $1,000 for labor and we didnt have the parts that we truly needed. The service technician somehow broke the back panel of the refrigerator also. This was in July of 2018. The tech left the refrigerator taking apart and in pieces. Over a year later 2 October 2019, the appliance still sits in my house with the parts out of it and I have a non-working refrigerator. I purchased a small used refrigerator to get by until I was financially able to purchase another refrigerator. In 2015, we suffered a house fire which was a total loss so when I redone my kitchen I read reviews and thought I was making an informed purchase. Was I ever wrong!! My LG refrigerator isnt worth a dime and my LG dishwasher has had several issues in which Ive not even bothered to try to get fixed. I have just dealt with these issues myself also I have a LG washer and dryer. Luckily I havent had issues with it yet but I wouldnt be surprised if and when it does happen. With a name brand such as LG you would think they would do more for the customer. I finally spoke with LG again September of 2019, as I had heard they were covering certain aspects of French door refrigerators being fixed in the hopes of getting back my $2,500 refrigerator but still nothing has been done. I would steer clear of LG appliances in general. But more importantly I would make sure I stayed away from any LG refrigerators as they do not stand behind their product. This was the first time I had purchased so many appliances at once and lesson learned the hard way!

We purchased a high end ($2,249.99) LG side-by-side refrigerator last summer. Almost exactly 13 months after delivery (the warranty is 12 months), the ice maker ceased functioning. We called LG Customer Service and were told they would try to get warranty coverage and get back to us within 3 days. Four days later, no call, I called back and got the same runaround - they would call back in 3 days. Four days after that, I called again and they said they would call back when they decided what to do. Meantime we are still without an ice maker on an almost new refrigerator we paid dearly for and no one wants to fix it.

I bought this refrigerator in Sept. 2012. January 2013 I experienced the 1F error message. LG had a tech come out and replace the computer board and the fan. January 2014 same thing happened. They replaced the control board and the fan (the original fan was recalled so a newer fan was put in place). January 2015 freezer frosting up again causing the fan to run all the time. LG says it’s out of warranty however it is the control board that is broke again. They sent a tech out that would not open the door until I gave them a check for $60.00. Then they tell me that LG is just refurbishing the old boards and sending them back to be put back in the refrigerator. They tell me they want $308.00 to replace and that I have to give them $150.00 before they would order. I can’t afford that. This should be LG replacing this as this part is defective and they continue to put defective parts back into the refrigerator and charge the consumer. All I want is a working refrigerator. I will never buy an LG product again. They are deceptive and should be recalling these control boards and replacing them with working boards.

Bought a set of LG products and Never AGAIN!!! I bought them both and about six months later, the washer literally burst open... from the inside out. The top portion with the lid and button flew off the machine and came back down crooked. It was a top loader. The top of the drum was facing the back of the machine. They came and replaced which took a month. One year later the new machine just stopped working while the tub was full of water. We put that one aside, thank god we planned ahead, and bought a second-hand washer and dryer. We have been using the old one since. Not worth fixing the stupid thing, now the dryer has been acting up for a year... It runs for two seconds and stops but while it stops spinning its counting down. I called LG and they stated that it was due to the coldness of my basement... It is pointless to fix these POSs. Big costs, cheap parts and worthless customer service, we will never give this company one red cent!!!

We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator. We called the 800 243 0000 number a few times. The first time, the associate asked us to reset the unit and wait for 24 hrs. After the unit failed to reset, we called the number since the unit is under warranty. We were told LG does not have service technicians in our area and we will have to go through an authorized service center. The first service center refused to work with us saying they need the original sales receipt even after LG promised to cover the parts. The authorized service center then called me to give an estimate of $1500 without even looking at the unit. After we called LG service to help us find a technician or another service center, the LG executive response team member set me up with another authorized service center, who set up an appointment after LG provided an authorization. We waited for a week for the appointment, only to have the service call and inform us that they made a mistake and will not service LG units. This is after the LG associate was on a conference call with us and the service center a week ago. So after two week of waiting we have no resolution in sight and LG customer service keeps giving us the runaround. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS.

I bought this LG dishwasher 2 years ago. The dishwasher never worked well. Dishes were not clean, racks collapsed, the cycles it offered were useless. The Smart Diagnosis does not function. The app is not yet set up. Within the first year the dishwasher completely broke down and I had to replace the motor. I asked for a new dishwasher but the company refused. I figured it was a lemon. Now a little past the second year the dishwasher is not draining. I took the dishwasher out of the space to make sure that the pipe was not kinked. I found a tissue stuffed in a spot where a screw should have been. The repair man probably put it there to prevent something from jiggling. How do I know he repaired it properly? I spoke with customer service in the Philippines. The girl was cordial but explained that to fix the dishwasher it was going to cost me $400. I asked to speak to a supervisor. They transferred me to a girl in Alabama who was less than helpful. She was rude. She just talked and talked about how I should have bought an extended warranty and did not let me get a word in. Finally she ended up hanging up on me. It seems like highway robbery that I pay 899 for a dishwasher that breaks in the first year, then little into the second year they want me to pay another 400. I cannot afford to pay 440 dollars a year to have a dishwasher. I had a Maytag before this that lasted 20 years and I paid about $350 for it.

We bought our LG front load model WM2487HRM in 2008 and about 6 months after, it started shaking so bad that our whole house would shake. My husband put some vibration pads under the feet and these seem to help for a long time. However, the mold and regular cleaning has been terrible. In the last year, we have been using only the low spin with only using light loads. This seems to elevate the washer moving a foot, however, it now moves about a foot with all three. The low spin, only putting in half load or less with the pads under the feet as well. There are other problems too. The washer will leak from the front. The washer will sometimes not get the soap into the drum. We have tried all of these options because the set cost $3,200.00, which is ridiculous considering our problems. It will cost $800.00 to $1,200.00 to fix and at this point, we will wait and buy another. But not the same brand.

We had purchased both the washer and dryer at the same time from Lowes while building our home. I documented all of the steps we had taken and responses from LG on our repair. Went back to Lowes (where purchased from) and asked to talk to the manager. After showing him the paperwork and relating my experience he allowed me to exchange the both machines. The appliance manager worked with me and I picked out a Whirlpool Duet W&D. They scheduled a date to pick up the LG units and deliver the new Whirlpool units. I couldnt be happier with the Whirlpools, and received the difference in the cost back. I did initially call Lowes headquarters to ask if they would exchange my machines and was told that it was up to the manager at the store I purchased them from. I was very calm and respectful and had all of the paperwork to show the manager. They were really great. I will never by LG again.

I have an LG refrigerator that has the known compressor issue. It failed within 3 years. Customer service was difficult to deal with. They eventually shipped part & agreed partial payment for repairs. From The LG authorized repair list given nobody would come & repair it for months ahead. I finally found a repair service available. With the consent of LG customer services I did the repair for $650. Submitted a receipt & was only reimbursed $200. Yet LG in court said “labor covered for 5 years”. Now at 5.5 years the product failed again. I spoke with customer service. They stated as an “unauthorized repair service was used all warranty is void”. Yet they knew who I was going with for the repair, have a copy of the receipt on file & previously authorized a partial labor payment. What a slippery way to get out of liability for a known product design defect. Customer services then terminated the call. If this is the treatment you want if/when your product fails, which it most likely will if it has a Linear motor, you have been warned.

Purchased our fridge brand new Model number LFD22786 French doors, freezer below, stainless steel. In 7 weeks the freezer began to warm up, by eight weeks it completely quit and so did the refrigerator. We called LGs service dept and they sent a repairman out after waiting a week. The compressor was shot as well as the control board. He had to order parts. Parts were on back order. They didnt call to tell me this. I had to call the repair company to get a service number to call LG directly. They told me the parts were back ordered and wouldnt be in for another 4 weeks...or longer. They were going to put in a request that the fridge be exchanged. So the request sat in que waiting for someone to look at it. It is still sitting there. I have to wait again/still another three days before I can call them back and check on the status of the order. I am now three and a half weeks without a refrigerator and holding. I was so excited about getting the French door, two drawer model. I have two complaints. First one is the shelves. I have more tall bottles than the fridge accommodates, then there is a short space behind that I can set something in but you have to remove the tall bottles to get to it. The main complaint is the icemaker. The ice balls come out great, it makes 3 a day, however the crushed and cubed work for about a week then nothing for a week then suddenly its working again. We called customer service they referred us to the local technician who apparently hates his job. He would not even come out to look at the problem. He said he would order a new icemaker. At this time the fridge was only 3 weeks old. We had to keep calling him back to check on the new part. Then he never came out with the part until after the 3rd time he said he would come. Then he wouldnt speak to us. After about a month the icemaker quit for a week then started up again and so on. I ordered ice trays on Amazon. No way we will deal with that repairman again. And when he did come out we were really nice and friendly I even told him a few jokes and he totally ignored me. We bought it through Costco.

I purchased an LG dishwasher 6 years ago, in which time I have 4 service calls. This appliance was expensive and the repairs to date have included failure on the insulation (overheating), error messages causing the machine to stop, a leak, and most recently the machine smelled of burning electrical and has now completely shut down. I purchased extended warranties to cover the repairs, but the inconveniences Ive experienced and the nature of the failures of this product are not justifiable for a dishwasher in this price range and of its age.

My daughter used a microwave-safe bowl to melt chocolate in my LMC0975 LG microwave. Two seconds after she pressed Start, the interior wall of the oven caught on fire. She immediately shut the microwave oven off and unplugged it. She is staying at my place while I am away. I told her to call LG. She was told by a rep that because the warranty has expired, she has to pay someone to come and see if the issue is the magnetron, which has a 10-year warranty, or take the oven into a repair centre. This is not possible due to Corona, and I dont think we should have to pay to have it checked. This seems like a fire hazard, and I am surprised they had no other support available and did not seem to think their product catching fire was something of great concern. I would like LG to detail how they will take care of this issue for me.

My LG refrigerator LDC22735SW has broken down three times in five years, once while under warranty. Presently, the fridge is sitting in my garage due to me refusing to spend any more money to repair this junk. The last time an authorized LG technician inspected the fridge and gave me a list of parts amounting to $386.55 plus $100 service charge only to see if a compressor is needed or not. I have not been able to get a repair manual or parts to repair the fridge myself. I am very near writing LG = Lemon on the fridge and putting it in front of my yard to become part of the landscape. How did we come to be sitting ducks?!

Husband and I purchased a LG dryer model # DLEX3570W two and a half months ago from Conns Appliances and noticed the print around the settings was just wiping off. One side is gone and the other side is smearing. This is a front loader dryer and wasnt cheap. We also purchased the matching washer. The washer print settings are fine so far. We owned LG washer and dryer before this set and although the washer failed after about 4 years, due to pricing we thought we would give it another try. We called LG over the print coming off and sent them photos. They said it wasnt covered under warranty because it is cosmetic. My husband explained to them that it wasnt cosmetic when it affects whether or not you can see what setting that you are setting the dryer on. They said that they wouldnt cover it and that was that, basically. My husband called Conns Appliances and didnt receive any help for them either, even after telling them that he was going to have them come and pick up their junk. LG tried to say that we must have cleaned it with a harsh chemical. I read on a review somewhere back in 2007 they tried to tell the same thing to another woman. Warranty says any defect in materials or workmanship. This is a defect. Im nearly 60 years old and have owned washers and dryers all of my adult life and have never had the settings print come off. I dont care how long that I had owned it. Thinking of getting a lawyer.

The one time I did have to call for a problem, it was obvious that the person was reading from a script. They could not offer any help or answer my questions. I ended up finding an answer to my problem online.

We purchased the LPXS30866D Refrigerator as part of a complete set from Costco when we were remodeling a home. The refrigerator is just 4 years old when we woke up one morning to have everything thawed. We were told the compressor went out and to set up a repair through LG Support. We did that and were told we would be contacted in 3 to 5 days. A few days went by and we hadnt heard anything so I called again, they said I should hear something in a few days. Once again when I didnt get any calls I called again and was told my first submission was cancelled! So, I had to start the whole process again with waiting the 3 to 5 days just to hear from someone to even schedule and appointment. Finally got an appointment scheduled for the repair but when the day of the appointment came the LG liaison showed up but the repairman did not. The LG liaison apologized and told us he would get back with us on another date. 10 days later we were scheduled again for the repair this time both showed up BUT, then the repairman realized what the repair was and he refused to do it and left! The LG liaison doesnt actually work for LG and had been very nice. He said his boss would be calling us but later in the day when we hadnt heard from him we texted him. He told us he totally apologized and understood our frustration. He said his best suggestion is for us to contact LG!!! So were back to square one! Its been 4 weeks without a refrigerator and were beyond frustrated. There is a serious problem with LG repair services!

I purchased a new LG washer WT1201CW and dryer DLEY1201W when we moved to a new home recently. In all my 50 years washing clothes, I have never had such a poorly designed machine. The washer is so deep that I have to half hang inside the machine to reach the clothes at the bottom (I am 54). The machine doesnt fill with enough water to sufficiently clean the clothes and I end up with spots and streaks. The dryer also performs poorly, not fluffing the clothes and bunching them so they end up wrinkled. I am very dissatisfied and will never purchase anything from LG again.Updated on 05/25/2016: I received a reply with only a portion of my complaint answered and the answer was ridiculous. I am posting this to warn others, dont purchase a top loading washer and matching dryer from LG. I am a grandmother and have washed clothes for many years, this is the worst appliances I have ever owned.

In-door features, online connectivity and support reminders lists, Alexa compatibility are features that I like about this refrigerator and the icemaker makes the most perfect ice cube in the most amazing shapes and sizes for the whole families choices. One of the main reasons I finally decided on an LG refrigerator was the sleek design inside and outside. It is purely beautiful in design and a very beautifully functioning machine. The pricing is the first major obstacle to ownership. The size of the refrigerator is another thought to consider for apartment dwellers. It is a large refrigerator but not overly cumbersome in design so it equals out.

Bought an LG LFXS29766S in January 2015. Three weeks ago the temperature in both the refrigerator and freezer sections started going up. Called LG and was told that the ten year warranty on the linear compressor covered parts only and that if I used a non-certified repair service that they would have problems obtaining parts. Agreed to have LG service the refrigerator and they came out about four days later. Was told that the compressor had failed (big surprise, do you think). Compressor was not available so had to wait a week for part to arrive and have it installed. Two days later temperature started going up again and LG technician came back and fixed it again. Total cost $412. Crossing my fingers it holds up long enough to try to get rid of it.

We purchased this refrigerator Dec. 15, 2014 its not a year old and still under the factory warranty. This is the second time that we have had this problem with the refrigerator not getting cold. May 2015 was the first time someone came out and adjusted the temperature, the same problem happen again around September 11, 2015 where it wasnt cooling or making ice. The day I got out of the hospital, I come home and everything in my freezer had thawed out and spoil. I began calling immediately but no one seems to put themselves in our shoes. We have been without a refrigerator since September 18th, 2015. Someone from Jebco in Saraland, AL. came out on September 23, 2015 said that he had to order a part and for us to unplug our refrigerator until he return on Monday September 28, 2015. Well Monday came, his clerk called to say that he would not be able to come on that day. I was so upset that I hung up on her, but later called back to apologize, later that day she called LG to inform them that she did not think I was satisfied with them QUOTE: Im not satisfied with anyone because everyone has a refrigerator and we dont. We are having to keep water in a cooler and having to go out to food because we cant put anything in the fridge. All we are asking is for them to give us another refrigerator, nobody seems to be able to accommodate for our loss. We are still paying for a broke down refrigerator, its notfair. I thought customers were always right and came first, well it seems that is not a true statement, because if it were true they should make sure that the customers are happy and satisfied to every extent.I am so dissatisfied with HHGregg and LG, I am letting everyone know not to deal with either one of them because they dont stand by their word of satisfying their customers. Is there anyone that can help me please come forward to give me some advices? We have spoken to so many peoples and nobody doing anything.

We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LF
We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LFD22786. In June 2017 we noticed the foods in the freezer had become soft and the fridge unit itself was not as cold as before. We called LG and they sent an LG repairman the next day. He deemed the unit unrepairable due to Freon leakage. Because we had already lost about $50 in perishables and some frozen foods we could not wait for the claim to be processed (approx. 5 business days) and decided to purchase a new one (another LG in fact!) while waiting for LG to determine a prorated refund for the now busted fridge. As we dont live in a very big house we simply could not keep the old one and have the new one and asked that they haul away the old one when dropping off the new one. We thought we were doing the right thing especially knowing the pictures were taken by the repairman of the damaged unit, the back of the fridge and also the tag that is on the inside of the fridge. We called LG 3 times since then and each time have been advised that our claim would not be honoured because we did not remove this tag from the inside of the refrigerator. We had told LG each time that we were not told to remove the tag and because they had a picture from the LG repairman we felt that this should have been proof enough but no. We did not follow their procedure. Well, if we had known we would be have but we could not do without refrigeration for another day. What annoys me the most is that LG will not even meet us half way for reimbursement. I was assured by 2 LG representatives that the only reason they would not refund us is because no tag. I fail to understand this logic when it was their repairman who deemed the unit junk. We are technically out $1600, more or less. Up until now I had faith in LG but with them not even considering the refund of any sort is just beyond me. I am a very unhappy consumer. The place that we purchased this new LG fridge from (Lowes) has offered to take it back, refund us the full amount what we paid for it and allow us to purchase another brand from their store. How wonderful is that??!! Lowes knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer. Unfortunately LG does not. Life is not good.

We did not have a lot of options based on the size opening we have in our kitchen and it was the one the best fit our wish list of features and style but that would not involve us having to uninstall cabinets in order to make space. I like side by side doors with the freezer on the bottom. The special compartments in the side door are also a good feature that I didnt know I needed but now wouldnt want to be without. The one thing that I would for sure change is the door alarm timing. I would want to keep it the same for the freezer but wish that we would have the option of making it a little longer for the refrigerator doors. My LG French Door refrigerator has broken down for the second time in the four years since purchase. The refrigerator was purchased in 2008. In 2010, the control panel failed. The cost to replace it was $400.00. Recently, the fridge developed a Freon leak. I contacted LG for a qualified repair person. The repair man told me that the fridge was indeed leaking Freon and it would cost $187.00 to determine where the leak was. He went on to say that if the leak was located in the bottom of the fridge, the repair cost would be between $300.00 to $500.00. If the leak was in the top part of the fridge, it would be unrepairable.LG, a Freon leak in a 4 year old fridge should not happen. Your company should replace this appliance. Im sure that you make quality products but my refrigerator is not one of them. Surely, you do not expect your customers to pay repair cost that total the purchase price for an appliance that is only 4 years old.

I bought a brand new LG refrigerator LFXS30766D in May 2015. Last month it did not make any cool air, as the result all my foods end up in the garbage can. I called LG, they dispatched a technician first time for diagnostic. Then the tech came back the second time with a new compressor. They charged me about $400 plus for part and labor. Well, the refrigerator then was running fine for about three weeks. After that the compressor made some noise. I had to unplugged it a few times with a hope making differences. At last the noise finally gone but there is a new problem starting last 2 weeks. The cooling issue came back. The freezer at the bottom is cool about 36F, and the fridge on top is warm. I found out the vapor fan stopped working. I went online to check on LG spare part to replace the fan myself so I can save money. But I am very disappointed after the fact that the vapor fan kit costs around $200 - $300 for the whole assembly kit. What a rip off!!! I spent more than $2000 to purchased this LG refrigerator; and I really believe this is a piece of junk. I dont know how LG is still in business, and why LG does not care their customers at all. We bought a LG refrigerator from Sears in late 2015. It was a top of the line double door and cost approximately 3000.00 dollars. It quit within the first year and was repaired. It quit again the second and during the third year it has broken down twice. Every repairman that has worked on this refrigerator tells us that it is well known that this LG model has design defects. We have contacted SEARS and been told to go to LG. LG has been unresponsive and continue to tell us that they will fix refrigerator. This has meant countless service sessions where they replace various parts and the refrigerator works for weeks and then quits again. We have lost hundreds of dollars of spoiled food and lost time waiting on repairmen. The repair company contracted with LG here in San Diego has very poor reviews and the service is poor. LG is obviously hoping to wear the consumer down by dragging out any possible settlement. DO not buy LG products. This is an irresponsible company with defective products that has no concern for their consumers. Worst product and product service I have ever experienced. I purchased an LG refrigerator with french doors and bottom freezer in April 2007 from Best Buy. Model #LFD22860TT and manufactured in Mexico in 2007. It had multiple problems ranging from the seals of the doors tearing, the clips to keep the doors closed breaking off, the digital panel on the left french door not displaying properly, the ice maker not turning off and, most recently (yesterday), I found the light bulbs in the fridge did not turn off.The heat of the light bulbs burned the casing. It melted the casing causing it to fall off. It was also warped, as was the top of the fridge. A lot of the food in the fridge was melted and spoiled. I called LG regarding the issues each time and was advised that they were not under warranty and would have to be replaced at my expense, except for this last light bulb problem.I called LG and they gave me the number of a local repairman to call and indicated they would pay for the repair caused by the lights. The repairman came the following day and advised that the unit could not be fixed back to looking new. Almost one year ago I bought an LG wave force washer and matching LG clothes dryer from Lowes. I have had no problems with the dryer, but the washing machine has been a great disappointment. I have operated the machine according to the information given in the owners manual, and yet I have two serious complaints. One, the machine stinks like rotten eggs. Two, the machine leaves a dirty residue (which looks like crushed rotten leaves) on my laundered clothes. It has ruined some of my clothes so I am having to wash by hand.

We have had our refrigerator for less than three years. The compressor quit with no warning at the end of June. I called LG customer service the same day. At first I was impressed because the rep said someone would be out the next day. Great! Nobody came the next day. I called and said the appointment had been changed and they wouldn’t be there for a week. The repairman came and said yes, it’s the compressor and would have to order it. He scheduled the repair for it for a little over a week from then. Totally unacceptable but what can you do. He came as scheduled but had ordered the wrong compressor. He had to order a new one and couldn’t come back until July 24th.This is just ridiculous. We are not college kids needing to cool our beverages. This is a family with many spoiled products and over one month of no refrigerator. I think the company should take the old refrigerator immediately and provide a new one. Or else give our money back so we can get a reliable product from some other company. Will be telling my circle of people never to buy an LG product because they do not have an adequate solution to the problem.

Since I bought the unit in October of 2015 I have had nothing but issues with it. After installation the convection fan was hitting the unit causing a loud scratching noise. LG sent me a different blade which wasnt even the right one. Had to wait another week to get a new blade sent. Now the machine will not preheat. Does not show an error message. It just shuts off and sings a nice happy tune to let me know the unit is a piece of crap. I would not recommend this stove to anyone. If I could return it I would. Customer care is anxious to help you out by charging you $380.00 and a wait of 2 weeks to repair. I have a family of 4 and without a stove its hard to cook food. They didnt seem to care just offered me another option for 265.00 with the same waiting period.

Our fridge broke after 5 months. We had the repairman at our house 4 times over 6 weeks and fridge still was not fixed. Called LG customer service many times and explained that our fridge has not worked for 6 weeks and we have 2 toddlers and no one was able to help me. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

I would never buy any product from LG (FH4B8QDA1) again. I bought a washing machine that within 6 months was marking my laundry with black streaks. I phoned LG who sent their local engineer. The man who came out said he had never seen such a clean washing machine (I used Calgon as per LGs care instruction in the booklet). He took some photos and said they would be in touch... but he thought the door seal would need replacing even though there was no marks on it at all! I never heard back from them. So I phoned LG again. LG said after the engineer had looked at the machine and made a report. It was because I was using Calgon to clean the machine and non bio laundry liquid. I wasnt entitled to another opinion as I had, had an engineer come out to me! The only thing I could do was to get an independent report on the machine. So I went back to the shop where I bought it and they knew someone who did reports. I had an independent report done on the machine and it was proven by two people and photos that there was grease in the bearings that was getting into the machine. After LG had the report it again took a very long time for any response and a lot of phone calls on my part. They accepted the machine was faulty and were going to replace it. I asked for compensation for all clothes and bedding that had been ruined and I had, had to replace. Suddenly there was nothing wrong with my machine and it was the fact that I used non bio!!! The shop I bought it at ended up replacing it for me. I would never recommend LG to anyone and their customer service is appalling. So much, that I havent even registered this new machine as obviously a guarantee doesnt mean anything anyway!!!

Purchased LFC24786ST from Lowes. Lowes staff was very good but LG customer service was terrible. The fridge compressor emits a high frequency noise that is horrible. LG denies they have ever had any problems with this. The delivery company who brought the replacement model told us he just replaced the same fridge for another customer because of the same problem. Bought April 2013. Drying fault reported November 2013. Machine blew up/imploded February 2013. After 3 engineer visits that took 2 months to complete the machine was deemed repaired (engineer 1 guessed the fault wrong, engineer 2 guessed the fault right but instead of logging it he marked the job as complete, engineer 3 brought the right part and recommissioned the machine).Soon after during a fast spin cycle the machine exploded. By that I mean that it spun out of control at 1400 RPM, a bracket broke, the motor is broken, the drum is broken and in all I have a ruined appliance - what would have happened if my terrified wife had not been there to hit the power supply off (not to mention what could have happened to her)? The machine did not cut itself out. The 4th engineer found essential fixing screws were not where they should be ... did engineer 3 fail to correctly put the machine back together, or did LG supply a dangerously defective machine?I would be able to answer these questions if LG showed any interest at all in handling my complaints. After being escalated numerous times to supervisors we have never heard from a supervisor. We have never received an apology. We are forced to accept the same sub-contracted repair company to tinker with this appliance. I have told the supplier that I am not accepting anymore repairs and I am demanding a refund. This is spiraling into a court case. This machine cost 600. It is meant to be the best. Instead, it broke down within the first year and the after sales warranty service has been appalling. Their telephone number costs money to ring, it inevitably means a lengthy wait and discussion, the person at their end has no authority other than to follow a script, their supervisors make no attempt to communicate to us, their repair service is awful (4 engineers!!! and after the 3rd the machine exploded!).I rang their head office and the abrupt receptionist repeatedly told me to speak to customer service about my problem and that they do not give out names ... the senior managers are ring fenced in hiding from customers who are thoroughly fed up with their service. I tried publicly shaming them into giving me what they legal have to. Their Facebook team ignored me and their Twitter team gave me the link to their website. Seriously, this is a company that shows no interest in customer service. If they did, then I would not be in this situation.(And for info, the initial fault is a drying fault. The machine vents the steam during the drying cycle via the water waste pipe. Before it gets there it passes through an internal chamber and takes with it all the lint, hair and other debris collected in a drying cycle. However, that muck instead of being discharged settles on the inside of this chamber. It builds up and then blocks the chamber. This then means the machine can NOT remove the steam generated during a drying cycle so the clothes just become so hot that they will burn skin - proof being when my wife burnt herself on the machine. Now, being a simple customer I of course cant state the obvious that this is a fundamental design flaw. I have to PAY for a qualified engineer to inspect the machine and they have to write a report to state this. 1 - I have to PAY! 2 - What independent engineer is going to do that against a mega corporation?)I will never buy LG again and their level of customer service has pushed me to channel my anger into putting an objective and correct review of them on any review site I can find. Not to mention an exponential Facebook network. They just do not care.

Within another month, a rotor went out, along with an outside basket. I was told that this would start at $500 parts and labor. My opinion at this point is until more money means a longer lasting machine. Buy something cheap and replace just as often. I will not buy another LG.

In 2012, we upgraded our kitchen appliances to LG products. It has been an absolute nightmare! Every appliance has failed in some manner. The oven stopped working multiple times on our range. I couldnt believe that when I called customer service, we were told to turn off the circuit breaker for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. The code was F1. We noticed a hairline crack in the interior wall of the refrigerator near one of the shelves. The microwave door keeps lowering on us. And last week, the dishwasher just stopped working without warning. Rather than continue repairing things, we have decided to replace all of the appliances with another brand. Never will I ever recommend LG appliance products to anyone after our experience. And never will I purchase them. Love the electronics. But their appliance product is amongst the worst!

The first time we had a problem with things in the freezer not staying frozen, the fan in the back of the freezer had to be replaced. Cheap little fan motor for such a big unit. Now we are having the compressor replaced, everything melted in the freezer and the refrigerator section was up to 50 degrees where it should be 33 degrees. Bought this $2600.00 LG refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago and of course it breaks 6 months after warranty expiration. Theres only one servicer in our area. They came to diagnose the problem right away the week before July 4th and company is coming. They ordered the parts from LG but after no contact with them for days we finally called them and they inform us that the parts (Compressor and board) are on back order for 4 weeks (JULY 21st). The back order date is four weeks out!! And we lost over $50.00 in food. Thank god it wasnt more!!We had to buy a Samsung floor model (Cheaper) to get us by and not lose more food. Every time I call to get an update because no one calls us back, I get a foreign speaking person I can hardly understand and placed on hold for 10-50 Minutes!!! I have been told that there are at least 9 people in our area (Valdosta Ga) with this exact same issue with their LG refrigerators!! This is not acceptable! There are a few in a worse circumstance than us, such as an elder couple that just had open heart surgery and no refrigerator now! A single mother with 5 children to feed. Now the only service company in our area doesnt seem to know where the board is and LG says it was delivered! The service center DDD in Albany/Adel says they use a different vender Marcone and it is on back order with them not LG?! WTH!

I purchased an LG French-door refrigerator in November, 2010, from Home Depot for $1198. Earlier this week I came home to puddles of water in my kitchen as the refrigerator compressor died resulting in my losing about a couple hundred dollars-worth of food. I called LG customer service, gave my model number and was told by their representative that the compressor was under warranty and I would only have to pay for labor. I was then provided with the numbers of two LG approved repair services. I had one service come out today and charge me $95 to confirm it is the compressor that no longer works, and let me know that labor cost to repair would be $650. That is pretty high so I called LG customer service again because my friend had the same thing happen to her LG refrigerator 3 weeks ago (what a coincidence) and it cost her $250 in labor, a big difference from $450. Turns out LG can send out one of their repair technicians who can do the repair for a total of $375. I do not know why this wasnt offered from the beginning and why I was directed to an independent repair service that costs almost double, but that is a sub-issue. What was truly upsetting was that it was at this time that the customer service representative told me that my refrigerator is actually not under warranty and that I would have to pay for parts and labor. If I had been told this from the beginning then I would have not have had the repair person come out and waste $95. I would have just gone directly to buying a new refrigerator, which is what I am left to do now because the cost of labor and parts will be near $1,000. So in sum, I spent nearly $1,200 on an LG refrigerator to last me less than 8 years and, to add insult to injury, I then spent an additional $95 for a repair call on the bad information provided by the LG customer service center. I asked LG if they would reimburse me for this and they refused. What makes the whole situation even worse is that I see that there was a class action lawsuit over the LG compressor failures, so this is a known issue to LG. Obviously LG is not standing behind its products and its customer service is sub-par. I will not be purchasing LG items ever again and this includes not only appliances but also mobile devices, televisions, audio and computers. I wanted to share this by sharing this experience so others can avoid similar losses.

Bought this LG fridge (model LFX31925SW) in 2013. In 2016 the linear compressor went out on it and we had to toss out all our food. We paid $90 to have it fixed (parts were covered under the 10 year warranty and labor under an extended warranty). It took almost 2 full weeks to get it fixed. Now, 3 years later the linear compressor has gone out AGAIN!!! This time the labor will cost us $540 to fix because the extended warranty we purchased through Home Depot expired. My LG refrigerator (7 years old) compressor failed, LG does not want to cover labor to replace it. There is (was) a class action lawsuit against LG about faulty compressors so it is a known issue. None of LG authorized repair shops in my area wants to fix this compressor issue. I also called 15 local repair shops and I heard multiple times that even after a compressor is repaired it is about a 50% change that it will work properly. Thats why repair shops dont want to fix them. I am not in a position to spent $600 for labor cost now especially if I may need to pay the same cost again because the compressor issue was not resolved/fixed. It is a very expensive problem that LG has created and knows about and LG has to be willing to repair the compressor at no cost to customers because it is such a persistent problem. LG is refusing to cover the cost of the compressor itself and the labor cost to replace it or provide a refund for the refrigerator so we can afford to buy a new one.

Ive heard the compressor failure is a mass issue with LG refrigerators, but what is worse is the time I have to be without a refrigerator. Mine died under warranty on August 1st. Today (8-19-2019) was the 1st service appointment LG had available which is two and a half weeks after calling LG. One would think that with this being a very common issue, the repair person would already have a compressor with him. No that would be too logical. He left today and now we have another appointment to actually fix it on 9/6/19. No loaner, no anything, but just them saying thats the best they can do. That is very poor customer service. Its really hard with kids and summer to be refrigerator-less for 37 days. This is really unreasonable, but we have no reasonable alternative. Other than this MAJOR issue, I loved the refrigerator.

I kindly requested him to notify me on the day that he will be coming, in the morning, to say whether he would be coming in the morning or afternoon. I had no idea that he was planning on coming today, so I was in the gym at the point when he sent an SMS. I did not hear the SMS as there is loud music in the gym. I am totally dissatisfied that he cannot respect me as a paying customer and have the decency to ensure that I did receive the message and that he cannot respect my wish to know in advance which day he will be coming. We are on holiday and I might have been at the beach with the kids, then I would also not here an SMS. I feel it is unfair of him to expect of me to sit and wait at the house until he one day decides he is coming to fix my machine. Today is the 26th of March and my machine is still not fixed.
