Product Reviews:

We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LF
We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LFD22786. In June 2017 we noticed the foods in the freezer had become soft and the fridge unit itself was not as cold as before. We called LG and they sent an LG repairman the next day. He deemed the unit unrepairable due to Freon leakage. Because we had already lost about $50 in perishables and some frozen foods we could not wait for the claim to be processed (approx. 5 business days) and decided to purchase a new one (another LG in fact!) while waiting for LG to determine a prorated refund for the now busted fridge. As we dont live in a very big house we simply could not keep the old one and have the new one and asked that they haul away the old one when dropping off the new one. We thought we were doing the right thing especially knowing the pictures were taken by the repairman of the damaged unit, the back of the fridge and also the tag that is on the inside of the fridge. We called LG 3 times since then and each time have been advised that our claim would not be honoured because we did not remove this tag from the inside of the refrigerator. We had told LG each time that we were not told to remove the tag and because they had a picture from the LG repairman we felt that this should have been proof enough but no. We did not follow their procedure. Well, if we had known we would be have but we could not do without refrigeration for another day. What annoys me the most is that LG will not even meet us half way for reimbursement. I was assured by 2 LG representatives that the only reason they would not refund us is because no tag. I fail to understand this logic when it was their repairman who deemed the unit junk. We are technically out $1600, more or less. Up until now I had faith in LG but with them not even considering the refund of any sort is just beyond me. I am a very unhappy consumer. The place that we purchased this new LG fridge from (Lowes) has offered to take it back, refund us the full amount what we paid for it and allow us to purchase another brand from their store. How wonderful is that??!! Lowes knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer. Unfortunately LG does not. Life is not good.

I purchased my LG top loader from Home Depot in 2014. Its been a nightmare. Laundry has become horrible. The load is never balanced. It fills and drains all day trying to balance itself. Even with my help its not happy. I cant imagine what balance it expects. I hate it!! Ive called with no help and live in an area where there is no service available. I will never buy LG or believe what I read in consumer reports. It was the top recommend. After reading the reviews, I see its not just me. Why do companies think its ok to take peoples hard earned money for crap that doesnt work like it should?

I paid $2899 for my top of the line refrigerator. The linear compressor failed at 3yrs and we lost all of our food. The front electronic panel has been replace 2x and worked for a short time. The problem is the the ice dispenser turns itself on and it dumps all the ice on my kitchen floor. I have to lock the panel and not use any of the features that I bought the fridge for. If I go anywhere, I need to remove the ice bin as if the power goes off, the fridge will reset the panel and all the ice will dump and melt on my laminate floor. The LG customer service is non existent. Next time, I will buy a different brand as I am disgusted after owning for 3 yrs.

Purchased brand new suite of stainless steel Kitchen appliance in December
Purchased brand new suite of stainless steel Kitchen appliance in December 2013, including LG French Door refrigerator Model# LFX31925ST/06, Inverter Dishwasher and thankfully NOT an LG wall oven from HHGregg Electronics. While first I must say the salespersons selling these appliance were not very knowledgeable or helpful. For if they were, they NEVER should have recommended LG appliances. This is my first issue. Secondly, the appliances look great and flashy, but the craftsmanship is less than sub-par as experienced on both the refrigerator and the dishwasher (dish dirtier as I refer to it). Had one service call on dishwasher within 6 months of buying, but service never alleviated the actual problem: The dishes do not get clean at even the strongest settings, and it takes over 2 hours on the short cycle. Finally the refrigerator and most of these are all likely deficient, compressor fan freezing, severe loud noises, and drawers breaking in freezer with normal use. MY conclusion (as I will not go into the NIGHTMARE of getting it repaired because this is an ongoing problem that no repair can fix), a consumer RECALL needs to made on these, as many people who are out of warranty are stuck with a 2000-3500.00 refrigerator that is worthless. Also, a CLASS ACTION SUIT SHOULD initiated as there was one against SAMSUNG in 2010, and LG is firmly aware of all these issues. MY hope is that either the US Consumer Bureau or an independent law firm reviews this immediately. Also I thank all those who take the time to place this information online too. If only I had read this BEFORE I purchased units. However I see some of the most recent reviews deal the freezer compressor and the EXTREME headache (not to say loss of food) that this has caused many. Life is NOT GOOD for the buyers of these products, but I am sure IT IS for the stockholders or LG Corporation. MY goal now is to get the seller of these product to REPLACE THEM and not with LG products either.

On 17 Sep 2010, I purchased a new LG Electronics LFXC24726S/02 refrigerator. Last night, 21 May 2020, the refrigerator stopped cooling. When I called a repairman today, he said its most likely the compressor and the repair would be about $1,100, implying that my less than five year old refrigerator might be worth repairing.

Our house has never had a loose or knocking pipe until we bought an LG washer. Ive heard this called water hammer. It started immediately after installation. I contacted LG and was told, This means that there is a sudden obstruction in the path of high pressure fluid through a pipe. This is caused by high water pressure in pipes not by the washer. Considering how very many complaints Ive found, this is the washer. I now have a pipe loose in the wall.

Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer
Within 2 years of purchasing our top-load (no center agitator) washer/dryer set, the metal around the bleach dispenser in the washer began to rust. We lifted the top of the washer and the entire bottom was rusted. It looks as if the underside of the washer top was not sealed properly from water damage. We found many other similar complaints online and contacted LG, only to be told that the rust is cosmetic. Soon our bleach dispenser will be unusable. During a normal cycle, water runs through the bleach dispenser, so even if I stop using it for bleach, the rusty water will still enter the washer drum. There is no reality in which rust running into the washer should be considered cosmetic.

Ive cleaned houses for 14 years and use a lot of different appliances, vacuums, cleaning equipment and supplies. This particular microwave has broken twice. I spray the outside very lightly to clean the stainless and wipe down to a shine. The moisture somehow gets into the panel on the bottom of the oven and it stops working. So frustrating! Not a good design. LG MODEL NUMBER LMVM2055ST.

Purchased a LG washing machine on Nov. 17, 2016. Broke on Dec. 2. Had the repair man from LG out to fix it. Lasted 2 1/2 loads. Broke again. LG customer service gave me the runaround, but finally got the repairman out again. Replaced 3 parts. Machine failed again after 1 1/2 loads. Contacted LG. Got the runaround again, could not get LGs own repair man to come look at it. Finally have a 3rd appt. for Dec. 12. Dont have ANY confidence in LGs repair staff. Hoping after 3 fails they will replace the unit. Communication between customer service and their repair staff is TERRIBLE! Would I buy another LG machine? Probably not. All the their customer service can manage to do promptly and correctly is say Im sorry for your inconvenience. Even then, Im pretty sure they dont mean it.

We bought all brand new top of line LG appliances...refrigerator alone well
We bought all brand new top of line LG appliances...refrigerator alone well over 2,000.00 in Fall 2017. Loved the new appliances but in Fall 2019 a compressor went out in the refrigerator. Yes, LG covered the replacement and repair but what they don’t want to tell you is the refrigerator will never run quiet again. We have had to call the tech back three times to come look at it because it runs so loud. We bought the product because it was super quiet and our kitchen is close to our family room and bedroom. It will wake you up at night. It runs with vibrating noises, humming, etc and LG’s fix is sending an email with acceptable refrigerator noises. What a joke.I told them if it would have ran like this when I originally purchased it would have been taken back in the first 30 days. The tech comes and states it’s a little louder than normal but not a single thing is being done. The tech calling LG while he was here was a joke too...all they could say to do is take off some clips to see if vibrating stopped...guess what?!?! It didn’t and it is still loud as ever. I will never buy another LG product and would never recommend.

I purchased a LG washing machine from PC Richards in July 2013. Water started leaking from the bottom of machine. I called PC Richards repair service. 1st technician came out and said he had to order part. 2nd Technician came out two weeks later. He ran the washing machine through a cycle and no water came out. He said nothing was wrong with it, that I must be overloading the washer. I explained to him that it wasnt being overloaded and that the 1st technician ran the cycle and he saw the water coming out, that is why he ordered the part. 2nd technician refused to change any parts because he was convinced I was overloading the machine. He left without doing anything.I washed clothes when he left. Same thing happened, water all over the place. I called service center and complained that 2nd technician didnt do anything. Service center kept telling me they would call me back, that didnt happen. I called again to speak to supervisor. He tells me I have to wait till 12/10 for another technician to come back to my house. LG washers are horrible and PC Richards service center is horrible. I do not recommend either one.

When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

We were shopping for appliances and there was a good deal for the LG bundle. However, the refrigerator had an irreparable leak in the coil. We’ve had it for about six years, but the average lifespan of a refrigerator should be longer than that. There were several visits by the technicians. Ultimately, what they determined was that it couldn’t be repaired and that they would send us the retro value of the unit based on depreciation. So, we ended up getting a check. The actual sending of the check, once it was mailed and I received it at my home, was very quick. But the process of the first technician’s visit to getting them to say that they were gonna send us a check took probably two to three months. It was a really long, drawn-out process.

I bought an LG Range model LRE3981ST from Home Depot in February 2011. On July 2011, I noticed rust spots on the front door of the range; I called service and booked a tech to come out. After waiting for an hour (and now late for work), the technician called me and said he did not have approval for the service call, and it will be a $75 charge. I was also asked why I didn’t read the service contract, so I told him not to bother to come out. I called the customer service and pulled it out of them that there is a service call fee of $75.00. I called Home Depot and explained the situation. They said they will give me the $75.00 fee back on my credit card, and to go ahead in booking an appointment. I tried today (August 10) to make an appointment. LG said to call back on August 15 since they will not show any available appointments until that date. I was also told that rust spots are not covered. Why did I pay for an extended warranty? I will now never buy another LG product again.

Bought this expensive $2500 LG fridge from Costco June 2018, we were remodeling our kitchen. After 6 months the ice maker defrosted and started leaking and unable to dispense ice. The repairman changed the ice dispenser motor and seemed to work ok. Then after another 3 months or so, the freezer and refrigerator stopped working, defrosting all of our food. We lived on ice coolers and no cooking. When the repairman came, he unplugged the ref, and it started working again. After another month, same thing happened, defrosted all of our food again, lived on ice coolers for 4 days till repairman came and says it might be the control board acting up? He will order the part but we have to wait another 3 days or so. We are waiting for the part he ordered Thursday and will come Wednesday, long wait for a very frustrating expensive ref? I recommend “Don’t buy this fridge!“ Not worth the headaches. I live in Vegas. Very hot here, no fridge life is not easy! Very frustrating, unhappy with poor customer service. LG does not even expedite repairs? Unacceptable... We bought a lemon? Hope this experience doesn’t happen to anyone...

We also purchased LG washer/dryer, high end stainless steel. Washer is ok but we have experienced same problems as many others. The dryer LG Tromm DLE3777W never dried clothes correctly. It takes 90 minutes to dry an average load of clothes. An energy star product it is not. The repair guy gave us the same ** about the vent being dirty or clogged. Never was the case. Actually sounds like the repair guy was reading off a script. The second time to the house, the repair guy stated that the dryer was operating as designed. The real problem is that Home Depot is selling this stuff. Home Depots reps are promoting this stuff and LG doesnt stand behind their product. Two options: contact the Better Business Bureau in your state (they are usually really good) and the second option is contact your state Attorney General. LG is selling a defective product and that, in every state, is fraud.

I purchased a front loading LG washer dryer combo with pedestals (Model WM3670HWA) at Lowes with extended coverage in late 2016. Multiple issues. Mainly UE ERROR CODE most all the time. Its not overfilled or a small load. Continued get worse. There is NO SPIN ONLY OPTION so the washer will wash forever, hours trying to spin out. At times I will have to set it through 5 or 6 other cycles till maybe finally spin out. This is insane. Clothes seem dingy, washer dispenser not completely emptying. Some water from leak at one corner at times. You can wash one load for hours. Using water and electricity. Service coming again. Not sure if its barrings or computer board on the UE error, other issues unknown. Dont waste your money on LG. Had hard time with service. Any finding anyone knows anything.

Two years ago I purchased all new LG appliances for my kitchen. The microwave and oven work properly. However the dishwasher and refrigerator are pieces of junk. I upgraded my dishwasher to the Inverter Direct Drive. After trying different loading methods and different brands of D/W soap, the only way my dishes get truly cleaned, is if I use the power scrub setting. This setting runs for 2:45!!!My refrigerator LG model LFX31925ST/02 is even worse!! Every so often it makes loud vibrating sounds (which I have recorded), some banging which results in a chunk of ice that falls out of the bottom. The freezer is on the bottom and has 3 drawers. The top drawer does not maintain freezing temperatures, resulting in defrosted food that has to be thrown out. When I contacted LG Repair service (I paid for extra warranty) I was told that I am not covered for a repair visit, unless the refrigerator acts up in their presence. I advised them that I have photos and videos to prove its poor performance, however that is not sufficient! I called the retail store where I purchased it. After several calls, the store manager called me and apologized because LG would not even cooperate with him!

I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014
I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014. I paid close to $3,000 for it, so I was surprised when it stopped cooling less than a year later. I immediately called LG who referred me to a local company that does their warranty work. It turned that the company had been out of business for years and that no one in our area actually does their warranty work. When I called LG again they seemed surprised and told me that I would have to find a local company that would work with them to get my refrigerator repaired. After calling around town, I discovered that Sears was the only company who would attempt to repair my basically new refrigerator. I made the first appointment I could get (several weeks later) to have my refrigerator diagnosed because Sears would have to get parts ordered and approved through LG before any repair could be made so they could get reimbursed for their labor. In the meantime, we decided to rent a refrigerator to keep our food from spoiling as this was obviously going to be a long process. The repairman told me that it could be several things, one of which was the main computer panel. After finally getting the part in and installed, he told me to give it a few days to see if that did the trick. Several days later it was still not cooling. I had to go through the waiting process again. By the time Sears got it fixed for me, I had been without my nice refrigerator for many months and I had been paying rental on the other refrigerator. About a year and a half later, right after Thanksgiving 2016, my refrigerator once again stopped cooling. Also, my LG microwave purchased at the same time quit working. It turns out that neither one would never work again. This time we just purchased another used smaller refrigerator and called LG. They gave me the same information about the repair company that was out of business. I called Sears once again. Every time a repairman came out to my house they would tell me stories about how LG refrigerators are not any good and that they are constantly being called about repairs for them. I had not bought the extended warranty on my refrigerator, so this time I was told that I would have to pay for the labor, but LG would cover the cost of the parts until the original warranty ran out. I was told that LG would try to repair it, but that if it were deemed unrepairable that they would replace it. For almost the entire next year Sears would come out, diagnose my refrigerator, call LG who would suggest what was wrong and order parts. I would wait for the parts to come in and set another appointment for repair. During that period, Sears came out about five times to diagnose and five times to repair. They replaced the Evaporator A, Dryer, Dryer Assembly, Dryer UV (Restricted), Heater Exchange, Pipe Assembly... Finally, in November of 2017, Sears decided my refrigerator was unrepairable and gave up. They gave me back all of the labor that I had paid, minus the trip charge to come to my house. It turns out that because it had taken so long to try to repair my refrigerator that LG was not going to honor any kind of warranty. For the last year I have the nicest looking boat anchor in the middle of my kitchen floor that I dont know what to do with. Complaining to LG doesnt help. They just pass me around until I give up. Complaining to Sears doesnt help either. They just put me through to the warranty department, which does me no good anymore. I believe that LG should be banned from our country. I will never buy another of their products again.

This is the second LG we’ve owned, first unit lasted only 7 yrs. Authorized service technician quoted labor charge of between $700-$1,500. None of the local authorized service techs had anything good to say about LG. LG customer service center is not terribly helpful; called a number of times, each time got a different story, they were only able to follow the script and there was no way to escalate to a supervisor - very frustrating. Bottom line, will never buy an LG kitchen appliance again.

Updated on 01/01/2020: Update from LG, they offered to send a tech out to inspect my refrigerator but the stipulation was that I would charged for the visit for anything outside the warranty. When they read my review about being charged because I had outside tech come and put in a compressor, they cancelled the tech. I exposed the fraud of the company telling them I knew about the charge and would not fall for their deception. Truth released about this company.Original Review: I Bought LG Refrigerator about three years ago for my new home. By the Way LG means Lucky Goldstar. I dont feel very Lucky, in fact I feel like I have been scammed by a company that does not care for their customer. I paid close to $3000 for this top of line refrigerator which was rated by Best Buy five stars. On December 11, 2019 in the morning I noticed the freezer part was defrosting and ice formed around the doors and I had a freezer full of food. I also notice my refrigerator was not cooling properly. And there was a puddle on the floor in front of the ice maker. I thought it was an ice cube stuck in the bin and it melted onto the floor. Cleaned it up and went to work. When I came home there was more water in front of the refrigerator. I now knew something was wrong. I opened the freezer and saw my frozen food defrosted. I panic. Who can I contact now, it is after six PM. I called a friend who recommended her tech to come out and check my fridge. I did call him and he came out around 8:30 PM that night. And his diagnoses was that the Linear Compressor went and everything in the fridge needs be discarded. He said he could get another one in for $595.00 and put it in tomorrow. Since I paid so much for this fridge, I consented to have the work done. I needed a Fridge. After he left, I spent hours cleaning out the fridge and freezer and did not finish till way after 1:00 AM in the morning and I had to be up at 4:00 AM for work. I had to throw all that food out. I had steaks, shrimps, meats, fish and honey baked ham given to me for Christmas from my job. The tech did come back the next day with a new LG linear compressor and installed it and now we are up and running once again. It took about 24 hours for fridge to cool off and the following day, I started stocking my fridge. But within a few days, the fridge did not seem to be working right. I kept checking it. The freezer part was forming crystal around the inner drawers and the food was not cold. Now on December 24, 2019 I am calling the tech who put the compressor in and he is heading out of town but he sent a friend to check out the fridge. At 5:30 PM The eve of Christmas he comes and checks and tells me that the coils are leaking and it would very costly to fixed to contact LG Customer Service. My first thought is to get my frozen stuff out and try to salvage what I can and bring it over to a friend house. When finished with that I decided to call LG. I spoke to lady name Abby who politely told me because I used an outside tech to service their fridge my warranty is canceled nullified and void. She also told me that linear compressor is only under warranty for five years. My manual says ten years. It does not say anything about calling an outside Tech to service my fridge cancels my warranty on this fridge. Think about it, if I had to call LG for a tech to come out it would have taken more than a week to get this done. And time to get a linear compressor to replace the one I had. And to make matters worse, both techs told me that LG has had major issues with linear compressors and they knew about the issues and still installed them in each refrigerator. The company is scamming the American people and are not willing to compensate them. My total cost for this fridge to balm is $4500 plus buying a new fridge. I am a 75-year-old working for $15 per hour. Which means I will have to work 300 hours to recoup my losses plus buying new fridge. I am warning the public to not buy from this company any products, they are not reputable to deal with and you will take quite a loss. Their Refrigerators look good on the outside but their components on the inside are made cheaply and you pay dearly.

My LG refrigerator stopped working yesterday at 3 years old. So LG covers the part but I have to pay $572.00 to have the new compressor installed. And on top of that the parts are a week out and I cannot set up the service appointment to replace the bad compressor until I have the parts in hand. And I was told LG is very bad at getting the parts out. So once parts are in hand I need to set up the appointment and oh by the way they are 2 weeks out because there is only guy that can fix this LG compressor. So that make 3 weeks without a fridge. So I am upset with LG. I looked in my house and I have an LG washer and dryer, 2 TV, sound bar and stove. Do you want to guess who is done with LG products? THIS GUY!

Since day three of the installation its been malfunctioning, after seven times that theyve came to check supposedly they dont find anything wrong, my food rotting, theyve done some repairs, Ive been complaining I dont want this refrigerator because its been malfunctioning since the beginning (rotting my foods). Nobody has solved this problem for me, I want my money back or a new fridge, I bought it January 2019 brand new. I dont not recommend it at all. Too pricey to not end up working. Washer is only 2 months old. Clothes do not get clean. Huge amount of detergent residue is left on clothes even after running 2 full cycles. Now clothes and comforters are literally ripping in half. Repairman found defect in the tub ring causing the rips. Neither LG nor Best Buy will allow me to return it for a different model. Im stuck with an 800-dollar washer that cant clean and needs a repair at 2 months old. I will never buy LG product again.

I have purchased lg appliances with extended warranty from brick. Next thing you know, the porcelain lining in the stove cracked and peeled off (right the first use of oven). Later on I couldnt shut off largest element. Tech guy came and replaced control module!!! Except the new control module doesnt work well. When I switch largest element on, the number of intensity shows in two windows!? LG fridge - seals on doors broke, rollers for drawers fell off. Plastic inside is so fragile (you better not use it). It breaks on contact. LG dishwasher with steam function -- whole motor assembly was replaced due to busted bearing. How long new assy will work? Only appliance GOD can tell! Today I called LG DIRECT. They said, You are on your own, buddy!!! Good luck!!!

We purchased our LG Refrigerator in October 2016. It is a French door with dual ice makers. We did love it but like so many others... our compressor broke and our food was ruined. No small expense. Because there is such a demand for replacement compressors I was told there was a back order on them and it took 10 days to get it fixed. Additionally, we cannot get the right fruit/vegetable bin (when facing the refrigerator) out to clean it without breaking it. The gentleman who repaired did get it out and broke it in the process. If anyone would care to shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it. I did read the manual and when you follow the directions, it jams against the door. Also, there in a clear plastic easy access door inside the main french door that catches and pulls open each time you open the main door. Our solution to this was to tape it shut. Lastly, the handle has a button to push to open to access milk and other beverages and apparently it is painted plastic not stainless steel like the rest of the handle because the paint wore off the first year... Looks pretty bad for a high end fridge.

First, we purchase this refrigerator IMXS30776D is 2016. This refrigerator is barely three years old and $2800.00. This refrigerator has had all part replaced (the compressor twice). The technicians from A&E Factory Service deemed our refrigerator non-repairable. We called LG to see if we could get a replacement or refund. They said they needed information from the technician at A&E to confirm our refrigerator is non-repairable. Three weeks later, we have been passed back and forth between LG, SEARS the A&E. We made another attempted today to find out a status and were passed to SEARS Warranties department. They pretty much told us, No we are not replacing or refunding the refrigerator. I will not buy another LG refrigerator or any other product that LG makes. I will also pass on my experience to everyone I know and those I see shopping for refrigerators (Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot which I frequently shop). Stay away from LG refrigerators!!!!

I just spent 1 hr and 15 minutes on the phone so LG can diagnose my brand new dishwasher--used 3 times! This piece of garbage leaves dishes filthy!!! I heard every stupid excuse why this piece of garbage wont clean. This one is good---we dont have enough water pressure--even though the machine controls the force of the jets via its internal jets. In fact, LG boasts of their Direct Drive pumps/motor that supposed to clean so well! It has nothing to do with water pressure because the unit is filled before the wash cycle starts!!! After all the attempts to diagnose the problem via my smartphone, nothing worked. I told them to just get a service repair person out. I was told that if this is the normal operation of your unit, it wont be covered under their warranty and will be charged!!! This LG dishwasher is a piece of garbage, as is their so-called customer service. DO NOT PURCHASE LG!!!

Ive had my LG Top Load Washer 2yrs, 4 mo and couldnt be more displeased with it. As others have said, it gets out of balance nearly every load and doesnt wash anything very well. Often I have to wash a 2nd time. Today was the icing on the cake. It overflowed and flooded 3 rooms. I put it on pause and opened the lid, and it started draining water. I let it finish then turned it OFF and it went back to draining even more water in OFF. I pulled the plug and ready to send it off a cliff. NO MORE LG for me. First and last time!! I wont bother getting it fixed since I can tell that will be a waste of more money on a cruddy product.

I bought LG fridge in Nov. 2014. It was dead by the end of June. Im not sure because the reading temp. at the door is still at 37/-2 degrees. I found out it was not working when all my food are rotten in the bottom freezer and smelly in the fridge. I called customer service on 7/10 who gave 2 repair service phone numbers. I contacted them and both didnt have any opening til next month. I called LG again, they gave me another 2 names. I asked if I can call any service that will offer earliest service. She said no because the service need to be LG authorized. I then called 1 of them. The tech came on 7/12 and found the compressor is ineffective. He charged $100 for trip/diagnose. If I have him repaired the fridge he will deduct this charge into the total labor which is $485.I called the customer service again to see if they can reimburse me for the cost of the compressor so I can buy a new fridge instead of paying that much for repair. They said no and at this time they offer me the flat rate repair of $362 for one-time service 60-day warranty or $485/1 year. I asked them if I can use the tech who diagnosed the problem before, they said no because he is not authorized by LG. Thats such a lie (They give me the referral). I asked why not offer me this at first. He said he didnt know. Anyway, I ordered the $362 repair and they charged up front. A confirmed email was sent and schedule for repair on7/17 between 8-12 pm. I took a day off to wait for them. Nobody showed up nor called. I called customer service. After being on hold for awhile, she said the service tech was behind so he couldnt make it.Being asked what will they do to correct it, she said she will send email to higher department to find another service for me. She didnt offer refund nor feel sorry about the situation. I asked to talk to the manager (direct number was requested). I called only to talk to a rep. again, go through all issues again. He put me on hold for over 20 still no response. After reading all complaints about LG. I found out that all issues lead to one result that LG just tried to drive customer around and postponing the solution. I have tried several times to call the supervisor just to wait for 20+. I tried to live chat, after being transferred to repair service dept., I waited there for 30 nobody responded. I emailed them only to get sorry for your inconvenience, we will take your input to improve our service. No problem was solved. Now I dont know what they plan to do on my repair order. No phone call nor email. I think Im going to call the federal trade and general state attorney to report this issue. My first tech told me that dont be tricked by the long term warranty. LG and Samsung parts are very hard to find and easy to break. This is the worst appliance brand and customer service I have ever seen. Im so upset that I spent that much money to buy this crap for over 2 years. I wonder why they still exist on the market. If I can give 0 star, I would.

We have just started in the process of dealing with the design flaw for the LFX31925ST/00. There are 3 defined steps of symptoms: (1) a loud noise coming from the lower back of fridge; (2) icing up of the back panel; (3) RF 1 error. Apparently, this is a due to a design flaw and new panel has been redesigned to fix the problem. Also, not all consumers and including us got the memo of the problem, we are dealing with it now. We have American Home Shield who sent out a repairman today. So we will wait now until tomorrow to find out what will get fixed.A minor irritant, the front plane where the lever for water is located, the lever just falls out now. The directions on the ice maker and water dispenser were silk-screened on this model. We see the new models are etched (much better). The panel had a plastic covering that has come off. This is like buying a very expensive car with wood paneling and then the wood paneling begins to flap around while you are driving. Cosmetically poor. Meanwhile, these products get good ratings from Consumer Reports. We are subscribers and did our home work. Apparently, CR did not. In the picture, you will note the panel is discolored with black at the bottom. The water dispensing lever falls out. The good news, the panel apparently can be bought for 105 dollars: **.

Purchased our LG LFX28968ST French Door Fridge (SS) and spent over $2K to have the compressor stop working and we lost hundreds of dollars in food and condiments. I tried to call the authorized repair person in my area who they gave me and never received a callback. So now that I have cleaned out my fridge I am sitting on hold with LG customer service for about 15 minutes already and they still do not have any answers. Telling me that someone will call me back in 24-48 hours, meanwhile I am sitting with an empty fridge and the closest store is 12 miles from our house to get ice (not to mention the time). So now they are sending me a form and said to send in my proof of purchase for the Fridge (which I have and will do) but they said they will extend the warranty to cover the parts and labor. We bought this LG fridge in 2015. By 2019, the compressor had to be replaced as we got the “FF” error. Apparently this means “Freezer Fan” but LG never replaced the fan. Now in 2021, I fought in vain for LG to pay for the freezer fan failure which happened again. They should have changed the fan in 2019 itself when the unit was under warranty. Having paid for the freezer fan mused and losing all my food, now the compressor has failed again. The executive department of LG - no one is even answering the phone. Voice of the customer/ office of the President is a joke. They don’t care about customer sentiment and bulldoze you. I complained to Texas Attorney General earlier in 2021 During the freezer fan fiasco. Then LG offered to pay $275 which I denied as it didn’t cover the cost of repairing the fan. Now the compressor from 2019 is broke again. No one to talk to at LG! Pathetic.

Purchased an LG Refrigerator only 2 years ago, compressor has already failed. Been without refrigerator for nearly five weeks because of constant run around from LG (also purchased the extended warranty), had two different repair companies (both sent from LG as certified company to do repair) and bottom line is the parts are not available because of the multitude of Compressor failures. It will be at least two months before a compressor is through production and shipped from Korea. For all of you experiencing compressor failure PLEASE CONTACT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE. This is obviously a recall situation but they wont do that. For all of you being told your repairman cant fix your refrigerator, that is not true, there simply are no parts available and when that is the case LG is in breach of their warranties and would be forced to issue you a refund or replace on your purchase, they are giving you the run around to avoid having to pay. Bought my fridge in June of 2014, the freezer stopped working in July or August of 2014. We have had repairmen visit almost weekly for 3 months. Now both the fridge and freezer dont work and I have paid LG service $225 out of pocket to waste my time. When I call, customer service representatives scold me because my fridge is out of warranty and they often disconnect me. The technician told me that a specialist has to deem the fridge not repairable and when I call to ask for a specialist, customer service tells me that all technicians are specialists. They are great at giving the runaround. Customer Service told me I should consider hiring a 3rd party vendor for repair service (and pay them too). I was provided 2 vendor phone numbers. Thats LGs way of saying we stole your money, stop bothering us. LG only sends repair confirmations if you schedule an appointment online. They hide records of follow up visits and there are no records of repair visits scheduled by phone. This makes it difficult to seek recourse through the small claims process which is the intent of withholding documentation.

Serv. and then they sent a LG technician to check my washer and he found the problem. The rotor was damaged and due to the Motor was under 10 years warranty this professional guy replace the part and I dont pay nothing! The service was on time and very professional. I have a lot of LG products - VCR, DVD, TVs, washer and dryer too. Dont complains! I love LG Products.

Couldn’t ask for more. The control panel is easy to understand and use. The amount of laundry that it washes is huge compared to what I had before. I had a Bosch front loader and it only washed half the amount of laundry and still didn’t clean well. I didn’t realize how clean my laundry wasn’t, until I used the LG. The matching dryer is super efficient he clothes faster and with less wrinkling. Never used LG products before. So glad I did. Now that I’m moving into another home, I’m looking at LG for all of my kitchen appliance needs and I’m taking my washer and dryer with me!

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

We purchase fridge January 14th, 2017. First time coming out for service on ice maker May 5th, 2017. 5 times in a row for same problem. Still the problem exist. Has leak water all over my floor and into my finished basement. They continue to try sending out technicians. Most recent technician refused to come out if fridge has been serviced so many times before. LGs answer to this is they will send a different company out. Their warranty only includes service and parts. They will not do a replacement or refund. I have a new baby in the house and have been without a fridge totally for 5 weeks. Refrigerator or freezer not working now.

Their products look good to begin with but when you have a problem they are masters at kicking the can down the road and not helping. Their customer service reps write things in their reports that are not truthful (to cover themselves) and they continually claim that the fading of the black on the glass top electric range is purely cosmetic. BUT we choose items based on being aesthetically pleasing. I bought all 6 LG appliances - but after this frustrating 6 month long attempts I will never purchase any of their products again. I am frustrated and disappointed and angry.

LG Frontloader Washing Machine WM4270H has a cycle that intermittently open
LG Frontloader Washing Machine WM4270H has a cycle that intermittently opens and closes the water valve that causes severe water hammer in the plumbing system. This is very bad for your plumbing and will cause damage. There is not a complete solution for this. Options to avoid the water hammer are: install a water hammer arrestor or use rubber hoses. Neither one of those options worked for me and LG was unable to find a solution. Do not buy the LG frontloader until they acknowledge and fix the problem with the water valve.

The ice maker stopped working about a year after we bought it. That was the beginning. But far worse than that is the absolute junk quality of the refrigerator interior. EVERY PIECE breaks on its own, due to low quality plastic and sloppy product design. Weve already replaced them twice, and they need to be replaced again. Pitiful. Weve never had any problems like this with a refrigerator of any brand, until we bought LG. This third world company isnt ready for Prime Time in the world market. They make garbage, and then dont stand behind their product. When will we stop buying the garbage these third world companies are selling us? I felt that an oven heating up out of control should have been considered a safety issue vs. just another repair out of warranty.

I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used
I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used, very attractive looking models, 1 was purchased 1 week before the other from different places and they both have the exact same cracked door. The door cracks on the side by the handle just below the arm that locks in place exits the frame. This has to be happening to every single one made since I got 2 in 2 weeks. For all of those who picked out all brand new LG products for their choice of appliances I have to ask if they would have chosen them if the name was Gold Star? Remember that terrible low quality manufacturer from the 1990s that made complete junk? Well its the same company that changed their name around 2000 to LG! How about that! Did you know this? Of course you didnt or you never would have considered LG for anything especially to be your brand for all your major appliances. Sometimes you need to research companies before you buy them. New names like Samsung, LG, Daewoo, Funia, Symphony, Orion, Oritron, iHome, Emerson, Visio, Trutech, Durabrand, Insignia, etc... All have some background, while some of these brands may make 1 or 2 good items, Funia is 1 of the largest manufacturers of all products made in China (kinda like a Mitsubishi or Sony in their own right) that actually makes products for dozens of companies including Sony and a long list of their own sub-companies plus for their own brand name as well. You would be surprised to know just how many other brands they provide parts for. Yet most would pick a Samsung over Funai any day of the week, just to pay more for something thats probably not even better or maybe even inferior to a Funai brand item.Funai has been around forever like Matsushita, Nakamichi, Sony, Yamaha, Mitsubishi, Matsubara, Akia, Awai, Nippon, JVC, and other Asian companies who have all made good stuff at one time but their parent companies have changed as the names are sold to larger conglomerates who names are never shown on their products. Most recently Samsung bought out the Harmon Group which has been making top notch audio gear for generations. Infinity, JBL, Harmon Kardon, Crown and others will no longer be what they once were, this happened 2 years ago and if you havent noticed yet these companies are not winning any high praise from the groups that once held them as top in their field. This is why its important to know who really makes the stuff you buy. Samsung is a maker of junk, plain and simple. They bought Harmon to try and get their foot in the door on car audio electronics and have really no other interest in continuing making high end audio, they will try to phase them out and apply their own brand name audio which will follow along their same disposable electronics junk they have shown to make in the past. You will see nothing impressive coming from them, all flash and bells and whistles. More plastic molded stuff like theyre used to making and they will market it for those who will fall for it. Looks definitely arent everything when it come to electronics, but many will learn the hard way. As most who bought LG did!

I’ve had the problem with knobs of the range turning on when you lean against them. I searched for a solution for last two years, even on this forum. I finally found it. There is a LOCKOUT function, located on the “LOWER clear/off” pad. Hold for 3 seconds and it locks ovens and burners! Press for 3 seconds and it unlocks. Very easy and it makes this range safe again. Now, it’s Oct 2019. The burners don’t heat correctly. The front burner is heating too hot while the left front doesn’t heat at all. Stays lukewarm. I purchased an LG dryer in March 2015 due to the great ratings and owning a lot of LG products. Within a year I started having trouble with my dryer: no heat. I called several times and customer service said it wasnt their unit. They said it was my venting system or electrical. Had someone come out. Nothing wrong with electrical. Tore dryer apart. No lint nothing plugged from lint basket to outside vent. Finally after 5 months they honored their warranty. Took repair company 3 weeks to fix the dryer. Heater and sensor replaced. Not even 6 loads later same issue. So I called corporate office where I was told they were not going to fix my dryer nor were they replacing it. I am not a happy customer. To be honest, the other appliances have been OK for their purchase price... This dishwasher, however, has broken down after 2 years of normal use. After calling their very friendly customer service phone bank (that has no actual power to do anything), I was informed that, lucky for me, in order to repair the dishwasher, I had two options: pay $400 for a warranty or only $265 for a repair! The LG website doesnt work and you are unable to register a complaint there. To pre-treat a large cat urine stain on my daughters duvet and cover I poured apple cider vinegar on the spot. Then I put the washing machine on the bulky/bedding cycle, added some more apple cider vinegar, HE detergent and an hour later I put it in the dryer on bulky/bedding setting and chose very dry....twice! Thats an hour for the washer and 2 hours and 10 mins for the dryer. Not only is the duvet and cover still damp but the stain is still there. So tomorrow I am off to the Laundromat where I should have gone in the first place. There is no point in having a bulky/bedding cycle if the machine is unable to handle the load. I will never buy one of these top loaders again. The clothes are NEVER clean and I always have to choose a longer drying time. I feel that LG has misrepresented their product as energy saving!

We have had this dishwasher for about 1.5 years and it was never good. Here are some of the most frustrating things that have occurred with this piece of junk.1) The bottom rack never stayed on the track from day 1. That means no one in my family of 6 can put dishes in the bottom unless you lift the bottom rack and carry it out of the dishwasher fully. Its obscene. Because the bottom never ever stayed on the track, our 4 kids have bent the outer metal frame, and now it is a pile of junk.2) The racks around the entire dishwasher never stay up or in place, we are constantly trying to manipulate these glass racks to stay in place, but they dont.3) The silverware holder is a pile of garbage, never stays put, constantly trying to get it to stick in place.4) If you fill the bottom, none of the top dishes get cleaned.5) Every other wash, we get an error message of some sort that leaves the dishwasher unusable for a couple days. With a family of 6, and kids we are trying to teach how to take care of dishes, this dishwasher is a joke. Had I known that we would pay $700+ for a pile of junk, I would have opted for a much cheaper dishwasher, as I have lived in places in my younger years with very cheap dishwashers and have not had half the issue we have had with this. I would be ashamed to market and sell this dishwasher. After not even 2 years, we are now in the market to buy another new dishwasher because this one is basically unusable. If you are considering this dishwasher, please think twice, find a different one for your home. I thought paying $700 for one would mean it should be pretty decent, it is not at all a good dishwasher. If I could rate it below a 1 star, I would.

Very nice fridge, all the looks and gadgets that we (my wife) wanted. But after 3 years the compressor died and LG was a nightmare to deal with. It took ~5 months of tech visits after it completely died but they never fixed it 100%. Despite the 10 year warranty, they just said sorry and offered me to either (1) deal with it or (2) take a check for half the price I paid for it 3 years earlier and void the remaining warranty. So overall were looking for a new fridge now. My advice is DO NOT buy this fridge unless you also are buying a 5+ year warranty through an independent company (big box store) who will back it up, because LG will not.

DO NOT BUY AN LG COUNTER TOP REFRIGERATOR FREEZER AT ANY PRICE!!! On Nov 3, 2013, I purchased an LG refrigerator-freezer model #LFC21776ST, Serial # 308TRJL49636. An extended warranty was also purchased to service this unit from New Leaf Service Pro, located at 909 Lake Carolyn Pkwy Suite# 900, Irving, TX 75039.On February 2, 2015, I reported to the warranty company, New Leaf Service Pro, that the freezer was not working, and that the automatic ice machine was not functioning. On February 6, 2015, a technician was sent out. He wrote up the issue that he adjusted the temperature controls. On May 15, the same issue was filed with the warranty co. This time, the technician said the ice bucket was not sitting correctly and that was why the ice was not forming. The very next day, I contacted New Leaf and told them that the freezer was still not working and the ice was not freezing. They told me to unplug the unit and replug it, and also to flip the circuit breaker. Again, on August 1, 2015, the same issue was occurring and I contacted New Leaf and asked for a new company to come out. They refused and said they could not change the service company in the middle of the issue (thus stating that it was the same issue all along). On Aug 6, 2015, once again New Leaf sent out a technician who said the computer board needed to be changed. After waiting 2 weeks for the part to be delivered, a 4th repair call was made on August 22, 2015, a fifth service visit was made and the computer was changed. THE UNIT STILL DID NOT FREEZE!After 5 failed attempts to repair this lemon LG refrigerator-freezer, the service company refused to replace the unit and finally sent out a new service technician for a second opinion, for a 6th attempt to repair this lemon. By this time, I had been without reliable or functioning freezer service since February 2015. I had to discard hundreds of dollars of food. This time, the repair company said it was the compressor that had to be replaced. Even though the compressor was covered by LG for 10 years under the manufacturers limited warranty, they refused to deal with this compressor failing because I had the extended warranty. The extended warranty company said they would not repair it unless I signed a damage waiver for them to enter my home (meaning that if they scratched my flooring or damaged a wall, they would not be responsible). I finally ended up removing the unit from the warranty company, and I am now on my own. I still do not have a functioning freezer since February 2015. Do NOT buy an LG unit and do NOT cover it with an extended warranty from New Leaf Service Pro.

LG gaskets for French door model never sealed properly when I bought a few years ago. The gaskets would sometimes keep door from closing completely, but light and warning beeper would deactivate. Many times we would come back to refrigerator finding one door slightly ajar. LG help desk said to firmly close it and this was due to a tight, but normal fit. They were no help. Now, the top door gaskets have torn on both sides. LG said it has been over 1 year and I am s.o.l. They said there have not been any recalls and it has never been a problem. I went to appliance store and every make & model of refrigerators including LG had a new design of the gasket with a flap on top and bottom of gasket. LG said that my refrigerator gaskets can be replaced, but they are the original design. I contacted one of the certified LG repair service and they gave me a quote of $250 to replace gaskets. When I checked online, other owners of LG models like mine have had similar problems. I ordered both gaskets for $74 shipping included and installed them myself after viewing a YouTube demo. It was really easy and took about 15 minutes. Dont bother with LG customer service, it is a waste of time. LG does not mean Life is Good. Last Christmas we bought an LG French Door Refrigerator. This past August it started making a noise. My husband called LG. They sent out a repairman and he said that it was not defrosting. He opened the back of the refrigerator, it had a chunk of ice which was making the noise. He replaced the computer board and stated that would fix the problem. On September 7 I noticed the freezing section was not cold. With a temperature gun my husband noted that the temperature was only 32 degrees and according to the computer setting on the refrigerator it should have been 0 degrees. From this point on our nightmare started.Another repairman come out at 8:30 Thursday the 8 in the morning and stated that it need a computer board. It was replaced a second time. At four oclock that afternoon my husband check the freezer. It only registered 32 degrees. From this point on it has been a series of phone calls to LG customer service. My husband even talked to a supervisor on Monday the 12 who stated that the last repairman sent in a recommendation that the refrigerator should be replaced. After more phone calls to LG they now says that they will fix it for a third time. We are at our wits end. We called hhgregg where we bought the refrigerator from and of course their help was minimal. If and when our problem is fixed, I will not recommend LG products to no one.

My family member purchased this brand new refrigerator and in six months the ice machine was not working. We called LG for service and their diagnostic testing resolution was to not open the refrigerator door too often. We responded that opening the doors should not cause the ice machine to malfunction. We reset it; and eight months later the compressor goes. This thing is a lemon. What saved us from further expenses is the fact we had purchased the extended warranty. We did lose food and LG reimbursed us up to $300.00 for the loss. There is no way that a $4000.00 fridge should be breaking down this fast. We have had models costing far less (hundreds) that has lasted 15-20 years: the repair man stated these smart models will only be lasting 6-8 years. Ours hasnt lasted six months to just over a year. My advise, keep it simple, and avoid LG products. There was a local news story that LG contracts out the parts production to many different smaller companies all over the world, so they cant be blamed for their lemons. One must sue the parts company.

The LG-WM3997HWA washers drain system is bad and the dryer doesnt dry! I spoke to a couple of LGs support people and the first one sent out a repair person because the machine doesnt dry. The repair person found nothing wrong. I called again because the machine still didnt dry and LG was again going to send out a repair person... I then called the repair person and he said these machines never dry and that if he came again, he would just check the specs and the specs were correct. So I called LGs support people again and this time the lady told me that the machine only dries to 90%. In point of fact, it doesnt really dry. I tried it using half the wash load and I think that after hours of drying, it was wetter than when it first came out of the wash. I now have to buy a dryer. I have been trying to dispute this with Goedekers the company that I purchased this machine from, but their policy is once its delivered, its yours. It makes no sense to me at all that they sell a washer/dryer that doesnt dry. I have used these kinds of machines in Japan and they work perfectly. It does take hours, but the wash comes out dry at the end and you dont have to remove half the wash to get it that way. Also your design for the machines drainage is horrible. To have the water drain out so close to the floor makes no sense. I used a flat tray to catch the water, but it is virtually impossible to control the flow and most of the time, it makes a mess. This is probably the worst appliance that I have ever bought. At this point, I now have to buy a dryer to put on top of the machine because the reason I bought it in the first place is because my laundry room is tiny. The point is that they should not be selling this machine and the public should be warned not to buy it.
