Been a reliable washing machine. Its survived 4 moves without any issues. Have not had any smell issues, water leaks. No issue with corrosion on the drum or motor. Would definitely buy another LG washer again. The machine just works, its now 10 years old and hope to stretch it to 20 years.
I have never wrote a bad review before, but this LG Direct Drive TrueBalance Washing Machine is the biggest piece of junk I have ever bought. My water bill has jumped 20% and we have to babysit the washer daily to get our clothes washed. On average it take 3 to 4 time to even out clothes to get them dry and finish the cycle. Never again will I buy a LG Product. Wish I would have spend time looking at reviews before I purchased. I hope this helps other people before they buy.
I needed a refrigerator badly mine had broken down. I went to Best Buy to purchase. It was the perfect height for the space I needed. About a month later it was leaking badly from the back area to all over my floor. I called the company they asked questions like do I have central air to cool down the fridge because that is likely the cause of the leaks. Im not happy it was a new fridge so it should not leak. A year later same problem.
I bought LG range LSE4611 costing me over $1400 dollars. Not even done paying payments on it. It melted away like plastic on fire. We had a pot of water on it. Somehow the heating element malfunctioned and melt the glass top. It seems as this range has no safeties. Donāt waste your money on this brand.
We had this washing machine for at least 10 years. The only problem that I found with the machine was when we lived in FL there was a problem with it stinking but on the West Coast we havent had that problem. We have only had it repaired once and my husband was able to do it after watching a video on YouTube.
Dishwasher consistently had been flushing and would not work. Weve had the repair guy out a couple of times but he acts like hed rather be somewhere else. We asked for a different guy since he hasnt been able to resolve our problem 3 times. There is no other guy. Now it is flashing. The dishwasher has worked on and off for about a year. Were just getting a new one - NOT LG.
Purchased an LG french door fridge five years ago this past June from PC Richards. Woke up this morning to find my fridge stopped working. Called repairman and was told it was the computer. Over $400 to fix. Now, naturally my warranty ran out June 1. So, Im left with a fridge that I paid over $1200 for that doesnt work ONLY after five years. Things are definitely not made like they used to be! I will NEVER buy or recommend an LG product again. What a waste of money.
My wife purchased a LG Gsl545pvyv American fridge freezer by John Lewis on November 2015. For today it has been around 2 months, the water dispenser is faulty and stopped working. I called the LG Customer Services but there was not any polite help. They passed the problem to a third party engineer company to sort the problem out (I do not think LG has their own technical unit). On two occasions the third party engineer company visited my house but still the water dispenser was not working. Also when the engineer company visited my house they have given a whole day appointment as they do not give time slots. Already I have wasted two working holidays and I will never buy any LG product after this.
We purchased a stainless French door refrigerator just over two years ago. We have had no issues until recently. We noticed that one of exterior door panels has rust bleeding through the finish from top to bottom on just the one door. We purchased an extended warranty through Loweās. I was told it was cosmetic and therefore not covered. The warranty company suggested I contact LG to see if maybe they would do something to make it right. I called LG and explained the situation. The representative did not apologize or offer any kind of support. She just simply told me that it was a cosmetic issue and not their problem. I began to explain how crappy it was of them after I placed trust in their company when I chose to spend over $3k on fridge, she just hung up. Never again LG.
NEVER PURCHASE A LG PRODUCT! I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. Less than 10 months ago. The seal cracked and the light stays on constant. The sensor is very annoying. Going off all hours of the night. I have called Loweās to get nothing but a runaround, called LG numerous times, one service man showed up and never returned. The next appliance repair man notified me and cancelled due to LG not paying service providers for their work. On top of when I call LG, I am placed on hold for over an hour every single phone call and never make any lead way. I actually filed a claim the beginning of November 2018 and just a few days ago they tried to say my warrant had expired. I am irate and feel with all the complaints I have read on here, the company should be shut down by consumer service. How ridiculous to take advantage of consumers. Also, their extended warranty is just like throwing money into a fire. So useless! I have never been so upset over a purchase of any appliance like I am today with LG. I will never purchase another LG product nor will I ever shop at Loweās again! Less than one year old and no one will stand good for this āLemonā of a refrigerator. I hope these people that treat others so bad get what they deserve after leaving this earth. Some of us work hard, do the right thing, and get walked on by shysters like LG. Very, very sad! I teach children to make the right choices in life. How upsetting to have to deal with inconsiderate businesses like LG. I really feel for the people that work for them. I would be embarrassed to admit that I worked for a business like LG. If you canāt afford to stand good for your products, you should just quit building junk!!! Itās a big rip off! LG is JUNK! They will never get my business again. BEWARE of THEIR LEMON PRODUCTS!
LG has the worst customer service. I just got told by one of their supervisors that it isnt her problem. We paid almost 1800.00 for a side by side (model #LFC25765st100) less than 3 years ago and now we have spent $230.37 to have it fixed and it still does not work. After over 3 weeks without a refrigerator to be treated like dirt by their customer service department isnt sitting well with me. They told us we had to use one of their factory authorized repair companies but when I was speaking to the supervisor she told me that was a lie and I could use whoever I wanted with their approval. They lied about 12 times to me in total and will do nothing to fix my refrigerator except charge me another $400.00. I will be spending half of what the refrigerator cost and it is only 3 years old. I thought LG was a good product but I will never buy another and everyone I know will be told to stay away from them.
Worst washing machine ever... Does not supply ample amounts of water...clothes rarely come out clean, or thoroughly rinsed. Destroys towels, blankets, and basically anything else that is put in the washer. Customer service is as big a joke as the washer. Keeping large loads balanced is a time consuming joke, Do not buy this washer.
We purchased an LG French door stainless refrigerator in September of 2016 (did not take delivery until mid October). On September 19, 2018 we woke up to a defrosting freezer and non-functioning refrigerator, in under two full years of use. LG customer service told me the part is covered under the sealed system warranty, but labor is not. They offered to cover labor āas a courtesy,ā but they did not have a technician available. They gave me the phone number of an authorized repair center and an āAPNā number, but when I called I was told they are not currently taking repairs for LG because they have a 3 WEEK backlog.I called LG back and they gave me the only 3 other authorized repair centers in the state of Colorado. Two donāt actually work on refrigerators and the third offered to come out in a week. Took the appointment but called LG back and was told I could call try to find someone to fix it sooner, but they would only cover labor through their providers. When I told them I canāt afford refrigerator repair on a product I bought in good faith that has failed in under two years, I was told āthatās not on LG.āI kept the appointment, sat home all day yesterday (9/25/18) waiting for my 1-3PM repair window, expecting a working fridge by dinner time. At 3:30 the provider arrived, looked at the fridge, said āyep, your compressor is shot. Itāll take 3 days to get the part, then weāll get you on the schedule for repair. Just understand weāre very busy and seeing a ton of these, so weāre trying to get at least one repaired daily.ā So I have no idea how long itās going to take. My family of 7 is living out of a dorm sized (Whirlpool) fridge. Iām going to the store up to 3 times a day to get food I can make immediately and a half gallon of milk at a time for my 5 kids. We bought an entire kitchen suite of LG appliances at the same time and are now terrified theyāre all going to fail and it wonāt be āon LG.ā As Iām sharing with friends, at least 3 have had the same issue, one within the month and her fridge was newer than mine.
Oven started smoking from back side close to the wall. Smelt and looked like it could be burning from inside the back of unit. Called LG on Oct 10th. LG sent repair company on Oct 19th, repair men said they had never seen anything like this before. It appeared that the underbelly of the stove had melted something that they could not repair and thought LG would end up replacing the unit. After several calls to LG and them promising to keep in touch by several departments from first call to report the issue to elevated with executive to liability am told the warranty had been voided due to us extinguishing the potential fire in our kitchen. Today is November 12th. Was promised another call on November 9th. Again no response on side of LG.
I do not like the fact that keeping the washer door closed makes your washing machine stink plus your clothes. I wont buy a front loading washer ever again. Mildew on rubber gasket around door has to be wiped clean constantly... Never again!
I bought a slightly used LG Refrigerator model # LFXC24726S. Had it for 3 months, still under warranty. Lost all of its refrigerant, spoiled the food inside. LG would not warranty the fridge because I did not have the original receipt. Called for repair, unrepairable (internal leak). Ok I get it never buy something that you got a great deal on because if its too good to be true it is a piece of junk. After dealing with the LG customer service department in the Philippines for three weeks I finally gave up and went out and bought a North American made fridge. So pissed at myself and LG Canada for buying someone elses junk. Although I did learn something after researching LG appliances. Theyre all junk and they have you and your money when you purchase one. Ill take a used car salesman over a LG appliance salesman any day of the week. You suck Lg.
We have both a front load washer and dryer (Model WM0642H). Ive been reading the letters being sent for over an hour. I wish I had known about this site before I purchased any LG anything! The pump went out on our washer last fall. At that time, it was under the extended warranty. The tech came out and diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. In the meantime, we were going to the laundromat, at a cost of about $60 each time. I called the repair company after a week. They were still waiting for approval from the pump/repair - another $60 trip to the laundromat. I called after another week - still waiting, another $60 out the door. Finally, I called HHGregg for help. They contacted LG and finally got the ball rolling. Now, about 6-7 months later, the pump is gone again. How much money and how many trips to the laundromat will it take this time? My husband says he will just fix it himself this time, but you can get no help from LG. They will not give a customer the schematic. After reading all these letters, and from our experiences, we will never give another dollar to LG. Their products are not cheap dollar wise, but certainly are cheaply made. We are looking at refrigerators and were considering an LG. That will not happen! I cant believe I fell for the hype. LG appliances are rated among the best. Makes you wonder just how they got those ratings. It does not appear they were from actual customers!
Been over 2 months since 7-month-old LG refrigerator, French Door Model No. LFXC24726S (over $3,000), broke down destroying all contents. Contacted LG support May 11, 2015. After more than 2 hours on phone, finally convinced non-English speaking L.G. employee that we had serious problem and needed service. L.G. told me it was my fault because I didnt know how to close the freezer door!L.G. warranty repairman, a good quality & well-run company, determined a bad compressor. A 2nd employee at L.G.s authorized warranty contractor said that given the nature of the problem, they were going to ask for a replacement refrigerator. L.G. denied the request for a new refrigerator & repairman visited again (2 weeks to receive ordered compressor) and replaced the compressor. The replacement compressor functioned for about 1 week and then completely broke down again. Warranty repairman visited for 3rd time to determine 2nd compressor problem. Diagnosis was a bad replacement compressor plus a computer board needed to be replaced. Parts were again ordered & then a 4th visit from the repairman. When he returned to install, he spoke with a L.G. technician on the phone who would not allow the new parts to be installed unless the repairman completed a special test. The warranty company did not have the required equipment to do what L.G. requested, so he was not permitted by L.G. to install the 2nd new compressor or the computer board. The suggestion was made that we start all over with a new L.G. warranty contractor. The original contractor will attempt to see if his management will acquire the required equipment. We have now been without a refrigerator for over 2 months & had 4 repairman visits. The authorized service and the retailer who sold us the refrigerator have made multiple requests for a new refrigerator to replace this LEMON... always the same answer: NO, not warranted. L.G. will never honor its warranty. They are not a reputable company. Whomever reads this review, NEVER ever buy any L.G. product. If you do, you will be very unhappy.UPDATE: Monday, 7-13-15 at 8:41 a.m. - J & M Appliance repair called to cancel our 7-14-15 appt. between 8:00 & 11:00 a.m. (5th visit). Calling to cancel the appt. for tomorrow in reference to L.G. refrigerator. I do have a note here from my senior tech. He is advising that you contact L.G. and have them send out a different (authorized) service provider. The reason being is L.G. does not want to supply us the Micron gauge for the units. So at this point, we will not be there on Tuesday between 8 & 11. And again, you can contact L.G. at 1-800-000-000 and have them send out a different company for your repair. Thank you. We have been trying to get Warranty repair from L.G. for over 2 months and now we have to start all over!!! Words fail me...
BUYER BEWARE. LG is the worst appliance brand to ever purchase. Please avoid getting anything from them, as I have had the worst experience with their customer service and major appliance I purchased from them. I purchased my refrigerator from hhgregg (which is now out of business, my luck) about 4 years ago. Maybe within a month of this huge investment, we started to have issues with the ice machine. We have had service call numerous times over the ice machine, which is quite shocking all for a simple standard feature on a refrigerator. Thank God we were still under warranty for the ice maker replacements, and even still after the repairs, we continued to have issues with the ice machine. After hhgregg went out of business, so did our warranty servicing. Then, about a month ago, the compressor went out. Thinking that LG would stand by their products and offer servicing, that was not the case. From reading past postings, they are completely aware of the problems with the compressor failing on this model. They had a technician come out who confirmed that the compressor went out and to fix would be $$$$ (costly), and offer a 90-day warranty. The technician recommended that it wasnāt worth it and to go with a completely different brand! I was in complete shock! However, I truly appreciated his honesty, since it confirms that LG dont stand behind their products. Such a huge waste of money and disappointment. So, unless you have money to throw away, stay away from LG refrigerators. MODEL: LFX31925ST.
We contacted LG customer service and we were referred to 2 companies in our area for repair. The companies would not work on our refrigerator due to lawsuits and LG not reimbursing. They told us they would set up appointment with repairman in 3-5 business days. Now 11 days later and still no call for appointment. Stand behind your products that are under warranty.
Firstly, the first refrigerator that I received in September, 2018 did not work at all. The Brick replaced it with the floor model until they could order me a new one. Initially, the whole scenario was a nightmare for me. It is all good now except for the fact that the stainless steel is always streaky, no matter what I use or do. It is very frustrating. I have tried almost everything, including the wipes, vinegar & water and just water and cloths. If anyone has any ideas, help! I am thinking it may be a poor grade of stainless steel. I am disappointed with the finish on the stainless steel.
LG sent a technician out and repaired our refrigerator at no cost. The technician did a great job and was very knowledgeable. Still think the customer service needs to be worked on so everyone understands one another better but my refrigerator in the end was repaired and I am satisfied.
I bought the washing machine because of the large tub. I assumed I would be able to do good size loads, very reasonable but large. Not the case. I also expected the machine to wash the cloths. My laundry is not unusually soiled in anyway just normal day to day of a retired couple. Even a white towel load with a cup of bleach and the towels were not clean. The machine has a glass top so I watched as I put the load through again. The towels on the top never even were cycled through the soapy water (what little water there was). Because of this they also did not get rinsed adequately. To see just how well they did get rinsed I again put the same towel load in not adding any soap to see if any was still in the towels. The wash looked as though I had put detergent in as usual. I had used the very small amount of the detergent as instructed. I wish I had researched this washer before buying as I NEVER would have bought it. I was blinded by the size of the tub and hope to warn anyone else considering this machine. I have had it 3 weeks and will try to return it to Home Depot where I bought it but I am doubtful I will get very far with that.
Lg French Door 25 Cubic Foot Fridge eats a ton of energy. Recall did not fix problem.
My over the range microwave is just over a year old. Making popcorn last night I smelled plastic burning. Opened the microwave door and saw flames coming out of a melted hole in the top of the microwave. Its over a year old so my choice is to buy a new one or go without. Will be buying but NOT a LG. But I sure will be telling everyone I know what happened. For as little as I use it, it should of lasted me years and years.
This washer left flakes of filth on my clothes after less than a month of washing for a family of 2! Customer Service said to buy a product at Home Depot and run ātub cleanā. I did this but the flakes come back every 2-3 weeks and I must run the tub clean cycle and use the product, then rewash my clothes! What a waste of time, money and water! After running tub clean, the tub still needs to be wiped out. At 5ā1ā I cannot reach the bottom of the tub. I use a step stool which throws off my center of gravity. I also fear that the pressure on my ribs may fracture them...I am 69 and have osteoporosis. I wish Iād never bought this washer.
Beware! I thought my new LG oven was self-cleaning. After all it says Easy Clean on the selection on the top of the range. Easy Clean is NOT easy. It involves: pre-scraping; using water with very low temperatures; and a LOT of elbow grease with non-stick scrubbers after the 20 minute process. I am SO disappointed in this aspect of what is otherwise a great oven and range. LG -- you need to fix this issue going forward!!! I am way too old to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing my oven. This is pathetic...and an all day process.
Induction is the answer, instant heat like gas without the need to vent, glass top is easy cleaning because the cook top does not get hot. Only issue is cooking vessels must be magnetic, not a problem for us. The convection oven is accurate with even heat. Well named as a Pro-Bake...
We purchased our refrigerator in November of 2015. Customer no service is worse than terrible. Our refrigerator broke down in August of 2019. It is now February 2020. We have had a working refrigerator for 3 days. Since then repair is a nightmare. Only comes on their schedule (A&E) and only when they want. If you ask to speak to management they hang up on you or put you thru transferring you to all incorrect departments. When they hang up on you they block your number so you cannot call back. The 4th person that came out said the parts he was installing looked used. Gosh wonder why they didnt work. Last person out said defect in refrigerator design was the problem even if they order parts will not work. He called LG. They are sending parts to repair defective refrigerator. LG model #lmxs30776s.
Bought a LG refrigerator Model LFX25991ST June 19, 2014 and it quit working in less than 1 year. The circuit board went bad. The technician had to replace the circuit board 3 TIMES before LG sent one that worked. After the first time I called LG to see if they would overnight the board. They ABSOLUTELY REFUSED even after talking with a supervisor. I also was told by LG that they would not pay for the food I lost. It took 3 WEEKS before the refrigerator was working again. NEVER, NEVER will I buy another LG product.
We bought an LG refrigerator (Model # LMX28994ST /00) on June 12, 2012 (Delivered on the 22nd of June) at Sears #100-1425 Sumas Way Abbotsford B.C. On New Yearās Day we opened the fridge and the cream for coffee was warm. I opened the freezer compartment with all the expensive foodstuffs for holiday entertaining was thawed so all of the fridge items and the expensive food had to be thrown out. We called the service dept. for we had 5 year extended warranty on January 2, 2015 and it took almost 6 days for the service man to arrive. He told us that the motherboard had fried the compressor - we have been waiting for parts to come and it is FEBRUARY the 2nd and they might come this Friday if we are lucky. Sears says feel my pain - I havent had a fridge since New Years Day!!!! I am diabetic and need a fridge for veg., etc. for eating out is so unhealthy! I will never set foot in a Sears store again and I will tell everyone about this experience!! I have always used Sears for my appliances and have sent others to them. Have I looked into the future and found appliance buying a scary thing?!
Have this refrigerator for about 2 years and it has quit cooling twice in fridge and freezer. Getting repairs seems to be a big problem as LG says cant find technician in my area. One service provider says we will not work on LG due to complicated process and has gotten only 1 out 7 to work after replacing compressor. LG says to wait several days for them to find technician.
We bought an LG front loading washing machine from Sears one year ago. It began making more noise on the spin cycle than a jack hammer, and almost vibrated its way out into the hallway. We called Sears repair for service. That was our second mistake! They sent a repairman only to have him make a list of parts totaling more than the original price of the machine. I asked why they dont just replace the machine and his comment was, We dont replace machines! What a joke! So a week later, an entire pallet of boxes filled with parts shows up at the front door. A few days later, two repairmen showed up to put humpty dumpty back together again. Well, that wasnt going to happen that day because, much to our surprise, the repairman needed more parts to fix the problem. So he ordered more parts and we waited another week for him to show up with his magic wand. I tried to discuss the issue with a manager but none wanted to talk with an actual customer. Imagine that! Its no wonder Sears is struggling to avoid bankruptcy. With nonexistent customer service, poor quality of appliances and zero accountability, the end is certainly coming. I only wish it had happened before we bought our appliances from them. NEVER AGAIN!!
I have been on hold for 3 days and at least 3-4 hours each day. Iāve taken 1.5 days off work and not once has any of the appointments been actually ever scheduled with an available technician or even scheduled period even though confirmation numbers for those appointments were given. Still no end in sight and no working fridge.
The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. However, with multiple repairs under the warranty and the rust, we regret the decision.
Came recommended by family member to begin with. We liked the fridge size the most. A lot of room for veggies and other daily things we eat. The brand itself received a lot of good marks when my wife research it online before making the purchase. Customer service has been outstanding with this fridge. We made a great choice. Has ice maker with cubes or crushed ice. Everything fresh and cold, space for eggs and produce. Able to hold milk in the door. Doors fit salad dressing and the smaller bottle that need to be refrigerated. Freezer a little small seems like hard to put larger items in the freezer one or maybe 2 larger meat items. Small drawer can hold vegetables and popsicle ice cream bars but its a little small.
I purchased this washer new from Home Depot and in less than three years I noticed rust around the bleach dispenser. I purchased this machine because it was top of the line. Now it is just a rusty washer.
I purchased a $3000 LG fridge in April 2013 (less than 8 months ago). About a month ago, it started making a loud noise. I contacted Home Depot (where fridge was purchased) and they scheduled a tech to come look at it. He fixed it by defrosting a fan and setting the temp on my fridge higher. He warned to not have the fridge set too cold or the fan would keep freezing. Great, warm food. Less than a week later it broke down completely. We are now more than two weeks without a fridge. I have called every single day to try to get a tech out here and LG not only refuses to send someone out but cancels the techs scheduled by Home Depot. They have no time frame as to when they will allow someone to come out or when the fridge will be repaired. My five month old son has digestive issues and is on a special formula that has to be refrigerated. When I called LG to schedule repairs Bonnie from public relations told me I could ask my neighbor to store my sonās formula for me. Because I paid $3000 to use my neighborās fridge not to use my own fridge. The level of heartlessness LG and all their customer service reps show is beyond shameful and frankly Im shocked theyre still in business. Life is not good when Ive been storing my sonās formula in an ice chest for two weeks, feeding my other kids fast food every meal because we cant store any cold or frozen food at home, and LG has the attitude of we already have your money so now you can go F yourself. I will never ever buy an LG product again. I have filed a complaint with the BBB. No response yet from LG. Let me pretend to be surprised. At this point the fridge now stinks, is completely useless, and LG has no plans to repair or replace my fridge. Its under warranty and I had purchased the extra protection plan. Its completely unacceptable to allow a family to go without any fridge at all for two weeks and counting. Its unacceptable to know a special needs child could go hungry without his formula and NOT even send a tech out to look at it. Looks like I spent $3000 on a useless piece of crap.
I just bought this washing machine in January 2016 and already having problems with it. Customer service is a nightmare to deal with and when speaking with them on numerous occasions attempting to get this problem fixed I end up speaking with representatives in other countries. I WILL NEVER buy another LG product of any kind. Very disappointed in the fact that I have spent over $600 on a product that doesnt work and LG will not help me in any way. Beware when buying LG products.
LG model LFX2597ST - Had 3 companies change out mother boards, ice makers, board in back of the refrigerator! Bought refrigerator in Sept 2014, a week later shelf and plastic cracked, and plastic dispenser of ice broke. Was fixed and two months later it broke again along with the ice maker slowing down in making ice. Its taken three months of constant calling, waiting parts, trying to fix and issues are getting worse. Talked to supervisor. She sent letter to main office and I just keep getting the run around. Almost a year and fridge still not fixed. I think they just dont care about the irritation of people spending hard earned money and should cover the warranty when its not even a year. I am so upset now that when I hear LG or see it, I feel I became a victim. It hurts and feel sad that a company who I used to like could do this! ALL I ASK IS WHAT NOW. I hate what the company is doing and who can help us consumers? My year is almost up! We even sent copy of receipt from Home Depot on Windward parkway in Alpharetta Ga. They never solved anything for us!
We have had ours for almost a year. These LG stoves that have knobs on the front seem like a great idea. EXCEPT when you cook and bump into these stoves, the buttons turn on. We have had two near fires in kitchen had someone NOT been home and these knobs got bumped before we left we would have come home to a major house fire. We have tracked the knobs for 5 months since the first two incidences and today after last night, I am junking this new oven and buying a safer one-too dangerous to give away. NO it wont be an LG. I have read that they dont do much in fixing the problems. But I will contact where I purchased the stove and let them know of the dangerous stove they are selling.
Our LG LXFS29766 French door refrigerator broke while practically new and under the LG warranty. It has been the most ridiculous experience, almost beyond words. It has been over 3 months, 3 technicians have visited our home, more than 25 phone call to LG and never once have they called back when they said they would. The latest was that they put in for a request to replace and said that we would receive a call or email within 3 days, 10 days later after having to raise my voice they said that the claim was rejected 6 days ago but no technician has been scheduled to try again to repair the refrigerator.Being a builder I deal with all kinds of appliance issues and this is hands down the worst experience, they are literally trained to run you around. It almost appears that they just drag it along in hopes that people will just give up. Stay away from LG, I used to like their products but if they do not stand behind what they build. I will never purchase from them again and ask that everyone think twice before purchasing anything from LG.
Purchased the LG Direct drive dishwasher. Stainless steel with all the bells and whistles. 1 year after purchase, I received an error code on the machine, stating its retaining water/moisture. Called LG Customer service provider. They walked me through the steps to fix this issue. Two weeks after this issue the machine made some very loud noises, along with showing another code. This time it was the motor that had gone out on it. I was told I needed to send receipt, as I refused to pay for service. Keep in mind it had water issues already. So I sent the receipt, and they fought me, along with denying my claim. It didnt stop there. I finally got someone out here from LG to fix for free, after a lot of time on the phone, and no use of dishwasher for 2 weeks. The repair man came out. He was very rude. Along with tipping dishwasher and spilling water all over new floor.Well my problems did not stop there. Its only been 2 weeks since fixed, and its showing the error code for water /moisture again. Little did we know the first error code was leaking water under my new floor. Ive called LG Customer service again and got the run around. The service rep also told me this is a known fact about the machine, and there have been issues with it. Its been 3 days and no one has reached out. But heres the worst part of all this. My floor has now been tore up, and restoration has come out due to the known issues, and all the water that has leaked out under my floor. My homeowners now has to get rid of water and replace the whole floor. My machine still sits in kitchen broke and not usable. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS UNIT.
This has to be the worst line of washing machines I have ever had. It broke down the first week I had it and just kept breaking down at least once or twice a month. I had it for 1 year. Sold it for $80. Nobody would give me more than that. I had to purchase a new one.
I bought an LG top loading washer about two months ago, which worked fine for about a month. Now, more often than not, it goes out of balance with a UE code and, occasionally, the power button will not work. I contacted customer service and was informed that I am out of area for factory service but that they would schedule a local repair service and get back to me. Instead, I got an email telling me how to load a washing machine (Ive only been doing that for about 50 years) and ignoring the power button problem. And the email stated on the bottom that it is not possible to answer one of their emails. Right now, I am thinking about small claims court.
My drum cracked like a lot of others did along the front seam. I ignored it for awhile until the noise got too loud. I took the drum out. If you do this, keep track of the sequence that the parts came off and what screws go where. Its not that hard to do. I cut a thin piece of sheet metal to cover the crack and along the outer rim of the drum, drilled 5/32 holes and pop riveted in place. I ground down the pop rivets so they wouldnt catch on the clothes. The dryer is back in service and the total cost for the repair was $2.75. But have no doubt about it, LG products are nothing but cheap overpriced junk. Do not buy!
Purchased LG model LFXC24726S counter depth refrigerator in late Sept 2016. All was good until April of 2017. The ice maker started leaking and would freeze so that the ice bin could not be removed. The water would leak out onto the front of the refrigerator causing the panel to be discolored and the bottom drawer on outside to be constantly water spotted. We had a repair man from Famous Tate replace ice maker. Same thing happened. He said the whole door had to be replaced. He ordered the door in early May. It is now August 26 and still no word from them. We also contacted LG and they promised to have someone get back to us in a few days. That was 10 days ago. We plan to go to Famous Tate today and try to get something done about this issue.
Our washer/dryer set (WM2016) was purchased from Sears about 4 years ago. My wife has always complained about the stench in the tub. Then last week, she was complaining about a smell (different). The next night, I came home from work and she said it was smelling again. When I got to the laundry room, the smoke alarm started sounding and I could not see the washer. After getting in and shutting it off, the drum was on fire which was quickly extinguished. I pulled the washer out and unplugged it. At that point, I needed to remove the top to make sure the fire was out, which it was. The next morning, I took the machine apart to see what happened to our 4-year-old washer. It seems that LG made a part inside of the plastic drum that is made from aluminum that was not treated by any means. It corroded, causing the drum to contact the outer drum. Had we not been home, we could have lost everything. I will not purchase anything LG produces from here out. When contacted, they could care less as we have your money!
After diligently researching washers, including consulting Consumer Reports, I decided to purchase an LG Tromm washer. Approximately 6.5 years after the purchase, the washer broke, specifically the metal spindle completely cracked from the metal drum. I called an LG endorsed repairman who ordered a new metal drum. Three weeks later, the drum came in but was damaged. He returned it and ordered another one. Two weeks later, the wrong drum was received. Again, he called and verified the part and this time, it took four weeks to arrive. When he went to replace the drum, it wouldnt fit and when he called the company (tech support), they verified that the drum was not the original piece. They also told him (and this was in front of me) that the specific type is no longer manufactured and that my washer would need to be retrofitted to accommodate the new drum type. This would cost more than the washer! I called customer support at LG and was told that they do not accept complaints. I asked what was done when one was sent in and was told that they just collected the complaints. So now, I am left with a broken washer, a pedestal that only fits LG front loaders and no venue to voice my displeasure. I will never purchase from LG again!
This is a joke. Easy Clean does not work. I have just used the oven once to make a prime rib and have tried the Easy Clean twice without it doing a cleaning. I had to literally get the door off and side for two trying to get the splattering cleaned and still have not gotten the desired effect. The top of the range is another problem. It has small pits, a mesh-like top heating surface that makes cleaning another difficult task. I called LG and might have just saved my breath.
We bought a LG refrigerator, model LFX25974ST, on 3/11/2013. Stopped working 2 days ago. No refrig, no freezer, lost all frozen foods and almost all in fridge. Have extended 3 yr warranty, and they will supposedly come next week to evaluate the situation. Now, after reading all of the above, we are concerned we also have an unfixable problem. i.e. the compressor. We also will be required to pay the service fee, and heavens knows what else. Has anyone heard of what can be done, to make complaints known to any and all consumers of these poor products. It is so frustrating to try and talk to anyone!!!
The LG gas dryer that I purchased from Best Buy on 11/26/2011 and didnt receive until 12/1/2011, has been out of service since 4/3/2012, because the dryer is not igniting. I called Best Buy and because I didnt purchase their black tie warranty and it has been past their 30 day exchange period, Best Buy will not exchange my dryer. I called LG. They referred me to A-Reliable Appliance Service out of Chattanooga, TN. I called A-Reliable (what a joke) on 4/3/12, scheduled appointment for 4/5/12 and they ended up coming on 4/4/12 to see what was wrong with my dryer. A-Reliable ordered parts and replaced on 4/10/12. I work Mon-Fri 8-5, 30 minutes from home. I have to arrange for someone to meet them at my home for repairs. My mother-in-law met the service tech for them to repair my dryer. The service tech replaced sensor and thermostat valve, the dryer was still not heating after 15 min. of running and the tech left my home without dryer working saying that it was fixed. Im no genius but I can figure out that if a gas dryer is not hot after 15 min. of running, that obviously its not fixed. I called A-Reliable on 4/11/12. I was advised by Larry that his service tech was going back and forth with LG trying to figure out what is wrong with my dryer. I called Larry on 4/12/12, still same response. I called Larry on 4/13/12, still same response. I called LG. I was advised that A-Reliable Service had not been in contact with them since 4/10/12. I was told that they were supposed to have replaced an electronic control panel which was not done by A-Reliable. I asked about the manufacturers exchange and was informed that the service provider had to do what they were informed to do before that would even be considered. A-Reliable was to call me on 4/16/12, to advise when they would be out to fix my dryer. Guess what, no call. I gave them benefit of the doubt. I called Larry at A-Reliable on 4/17/12. Part was still not in, it should be there today. They will call me back to let me know, no call. Morning of 4/18/12, I called Larry at A-Reliable and part still not in should be there today. I called LG customer service and spoke with a representative. They called Larry at A-Reliable Appliance Service and found out that the part has not even been ordered. I have been lied to by Larry at A-Reliable Appliance Service since 4/11/12. This is ridiculous. A-Reliable is causing LG to lose customers because of the simple fact that they are not responsible or knowledgeable in repairing appliances. I filed a formal complaint with LG. I spoke with an executive service representative to advise the situation. She advises me that she will address this problem and get back with me and resolve the problem with the dryer that is not working!
So we bought a $2000 LB refrigerator stainless steel, French doors, water in the door, and freeze drawer. This fridge has been used literally for 2 yrs at most. Went to plug the fridge in and nothing comes on. Google this issue and its a known issue, need to spend $300.00 on the main board. What??? Plus labor... Poor quality. Called customer service and asked for some help not free but some help and was told to pound sand!!! Oh wonder why they have crappy reviews!!!
Our LG refrigerator is junk. After 6 months the freezer led lighting went out and requires a $150 part. Cannot see where the buttons are on the front panel because they are not illuminated. It seems the designers have never used the product. Now a year later the water line from the valve to the icemaker is splitting and ruined our kitchen cabinets. This have never happened with any other refrigerator in over 40 years except for LG. Absolute crap materials and workmanship.
We just replaced another new LG back in August 13 2016 with this new LG FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR (LMXS30776). LG gave us credit on the other new one that went dead in the water and couldnt be fixed. Now tonight we find ourselves going thru this all over again. Everything defrosting. Had to pull out and put food in the reserve side by side in Garage which has been around much longer than LG. Thank goodness for that. Now to call Home Depot all over again and get the process started again. Will have to pay for Tech again to come out to find out what is wrong. Last time Compressor replaced and it still wouldnt work. Tech gave up and we still had to pay him. I swear LG is a piece of junk as one said. Its ridiculous they only last a few years and burn out. I do not want to replace it again with another LG.
Words can not describe the joy I have when I use and even more appropriately when I clean up after my husband cooks. I never liked or would even consider electric cooking before, but this is an absolute dream. A pot boils over? No problem. Use a rag and wipe it up even when the pot is still cooking, it lowers the heat the minute you turn down the temperature and if you pick up the pan and walk away, the burner shuts itself off. I have considered an electric oven before but with the convection and induction features, I feel like I have died and gone to the great kitchen in the sky. I know that sounds a little extreme but after dealing with a messy stove top & an oven that I have to get down on my hands & knees to clean, this is really a God-send.I also got a great deal on my appliance from eBay. Even had a manufactures warranty. LG has been our go to brand for T.V.s, fridge and now my kitchen. The only draw back is trying to find pans that dont cost a fortune and are of good quality, also someone that can tell me why my cast iron griddle cracked in half when I tried to heat it up to cook a steak. Not a major problem. Just would like some answers.
Bought our LG washing machine at RC Willey. After 6 months we get the dreaded UE error code. Weve had a repair company out 4 times now. 3 control boards, a water inlet valve and a dispenser tray. The repair guy also warned us about a number of other parts to expect to go out. LG corporate attitude is well keep fixing it till your warranty runs out then youre on your own! Never again will I buy anything LG! Going back to Whirlpool.
On August 25, 2019 my refrigerator started getting warmer and warmer. I called Sears repair but they only had an appointment two weeks out on September 10th so I took it. Thats a long time to go without a refrigerator. However, I read online that LG refrigerators have issues with their compressor so I decided to call LG direct to see if there was any warranty on my fridge I purchased in 2012. After the standard questions...the service agent provided me with a phone number of the local repair person for LG. I called Lilo and he was able to come out the very next day. He confirmed it was the compressor and then tested the motherboard to make sure the software would be compatible with the new compressor which it was, whew. I know there have been a lot of bad reviews here but I didnt have the same experience so I decided to take the time to post. Thank you for the help LG and I appreciate your service repair person here in Hawaii!
I have an LG inverter direct drive top loading machine. No agitator. It does work well but not as well as my old front loading machine. I had to get a new machine because my old one didnt fit the new space. The LG does do a pretty good job of cleaning but is loud. I would rate it as very good but not best. It is a good value for the price. I have had it for a year now. So far so good.
I cannot believe this machine is rusting out- even washing machine I had 25 years ago didnāt do this - right where you add detergent. Wish I could upload photos - but I cannot. I have had nothing but horrible luck with their washing machine from start. Its sad nothing is made in USA anymore.
If you look at my original review of 10/3/19 and the companys final reply of 10/8/19 it appeared that LG intended to do nothing more than leave us holding the bag as it were. However, without further contacting us at all, LG contacted a nearby service center and sent a new door to them and arranged for our door to be replaced AT LGS EXPENSE. The service man said the old door was going to the dump, so I guess LG didnt need to trust but verify that it was a warranty issue after all. They finally decided to do the right thing. Our refrigerator again looks the way it should, but we should not have had to jump through so many hoops to get this corrected. I stand by my original review. I will not purchase LG in the future.
After 1 year, 5 months of light use, microwave broke. Could be the Magnetron, which has a 10 year warranty, but the service call to see if it is the Magnetron costs almost as much as the microwave and if it isnt the Magnetron, well? All microwaves that I have purchased in my life have lasted until I moved or gave them away. LG Microwave? PITIFUL!!!
My 2-door side by side refrigerator is only 4 years old. The inside back has hairline cracks all over it from top to bottom. The plastic handles and door shelves are all broken and duct taped. I called and text them and all they say is how I can purchase new ones. That will never happen. I will never purchase LG again. Its not like my husband and myself ever abused it and we are the only 2 people that have ever touched it.
We bought a nice LG refrigerator 26 months ago and the linear compressor went out, luckily fixed under extended warranty. The problem is the replacement compressor is the same and according to others likely only to last 2 years. 4 year life is not what we wanted out of an expensive fridge so as soon as this next compressor fails we will have to do better research into our next purchase.
I am just disappointed that my fridge is so new yet had these problems. We were out of our main fridge for a week. First the compressor was replaced and then it still wasnt working. Luckily the LG technician was fantastic and was back ASAP and found a leak, which he fixed and so far so good.
LG stainless steel 33 cubic feet model #LFX 33975ST/01 SN 211KRRE1Y726 double doors with freezer at the bottom. We purchased this lovely fridge for our new home.and purchased a warranty with it just in case we has some issues. We are in Texas it is still hot here or it was while waiting for repairs. Our fridge began making noises and finally just stopped. We requested service on it after waiting a couple of days and troubleshooting for solutions. In the midst of hoping it would start to work again, we lost EVERYTHING in it-steaks, chicken, dressings, everything!! We finally got a service company (Premiere) to come out-2 weeks later. Mind you its hot here in Texas so we have been living out of ice chest now for 3 weeks. They finally come out for repairs after 3 weeks and the compressor is out and the blower. Parts need to be ordered. More weeks of waiting and purchasing ice. They finally came out last week and installed the compressor and the blower. It took 4 hours!! Repairman left after being frustrated that it took so long for him to repair! We were told it would take up to 36 hours to be back to normal and temperature. 3 days passed and our refrigerator never made ice and was still warm!! We called back the repair company and we were told they closed out the claim and we were back in the line again for repairs!!This is horrible, horrible customer service! My family and I have been without a fridge for a month and still dont know now when it will be looked at again. We are starting from scratch. This is a 3000.00 refrigerator! Who in management is reading the customer complaints and who can help us?? We need a new refrigerator!! Everyone has been rude even Home Depot where it was purchased!Over a month without food and groceries and nowhere to put them. We lost over 450.00 of food if not more in our fridge and so many bags of ice. This is unacceptable and I plan to go as high as I can until someone calls to help us with this refrigerator issue. It is still under warranty!! This lovely on the outside not working on the inside fridge is horrible!I am adding these notes to Twitter, Facebook and all social media I can until someone helps us or at least contacts us. This has been a horrible experience!! If you are reading or concerned LG, please contact me. We have been told now it will be a while before someone will be out. Almost 2 months without a refrigerator! Frustrated, angry and disgusted with anything LG.
LG front load washer (WM0642HW) - The washer vibrates horribly when in the spin cycles! Our whole house shakes! You can hear the vibration outside the home! The floor vibrates when washer is in spin cycle! We have bought several different kinds/brands of shock-absorbers and installed them under each leg of the washer. Still no help! This is obviously a manufacturing defect. We called LG and they sent a certified LG appliance repair man to our home. All he would tell us was: LG makes a great product and use less than half the recommended amount of detergent to control the āsmellā.ā This is my second contact to you. Do you have other complaints against LG for this same problem? LG should replace my unit. I am willing to trade down just to get rid of this vibration! I have matching dryer. Together, these appliances were $1900.00!
We had purchased a LG washing machine from Best Buy less than a year ago and have had constant problems with it since. Soon after we installed it in our new house we had it leak water throughout the night from the front of the washing machine. After contacting LG about it they did a test on it (over the phone, as it was a smart washing) and said it was OK to use. Against the better judgement of my wife she went ahead and used it and the same thing happened again, but this time worse. The water created about $8600.00 in damages, had floor damage, water in the vents that collapsed the AC vent under the house, and mold starting to appear on our walls. Fortunately we had our own house insurance which covered out expense, and we had to pay a small $250.00 deductible. After explaining the situation to LG, they asked us to send them a damage report and all the information which we did, they refused to replace the washing machine and instead sent a technician out to fix it, who came out four separate times to fix it. He said that there was a fault with the machine and we were afraid that it would happen again. LG also told us that because the washing machine was a display model that we purchased it was not under warranty. When I called through customer service to ask them if I purchased a display model from Best Buy would it be covered by warranty, they said yes (a direct contradiction to what was told.) I asked them for a transcript to verify that which they sent. After 4 attempts to fix the problem they still wouldnt change the machine or give us our money back, and we ended up having to pay out of our pocket for the technician to come out. To this day we still have a faulty washing machine. After calling them several times to try and get my deductible back from LGs own insurance company they kept telling me that they would call me in two days, and never did. This happened three separate occasions and it has been about 6 months since the accident happened, and they have been in possession of all the documentation for around 3-4 months and have done nothing about it. We are very disappointed in their service and do not expect them to do anything about our situation. This is the first time Ive complained online to any company, but I feel that other consumers need to know.
Bought a brand new stacking washer/ dryer set in March of 2018. Loved the features and functions, and it ran smooth and quiet. By January 2019, the door hinge had seized, and we noticed dried soapy residue under the left side of the machine. Had to argue with LG to replace hinge under warranty, and they tried to charge me to un-stack the unit. The tech said that we should be more careful loading soap into the tray, and that dripping soap gets on the hinges and eats the metal. Seems like a pretty big problem for a washing machine where the dispenser tray is right above the door hinge.By April, the latch had also failed, but was out of warranty. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty. They also tried to hit me for $150 to un-stack the unit. Now here we are in June 2019, with a seized hinge again! Door wont fully open or close, and now the door leaks when a cycle is run. However, the unit is also leaking from inside the soap apparatus somewhere inside the machine. The entire leg, face plate, and the inside of the machine is rusting below the soap tray. This probably caused the first hinge issue.Warranty company says it is a pre-existing condition and will not cover corrosion and rust related issues as that should be by the manufacturer. LG says its not their problem, and only offer a 90 day warranty on first hinge replacement, which is expired. I am now on the hook for the entire repair, which is yet to be determined (since I have to pay for someone to even come out and tell me what is wrong). Not even a year into it, and this thing is a piece of garbage. With the two units, tax, delivery, installation, extended warranty, new floor pan, etc., I spent $2000.00 on this set, and all of that is completely worthless when you have a problem with it.
Seal around bottom between freezer and upper part of refrigerator is of poor quality. It doesnt seal well and doesnt keep insects out. Otherwise, the device looks good and performs ok.
I own an LG LFC25760sb French Door refrigerator. Unknown to me the interior lights stayed on inside the refrigerator and actually cooked or partially cooked my ribeye steaks that were on the top shelf. It looks like there is a lawsuit against LG for this but my model number was not mentioned in the article I read. Perhaps LG should install an indicator light that will show if the interior lights are staying on. I have unscrewed the light bulbs but the interior of the refrigerator is dark w/o lights. We are looking at new refrigerators and hope to find one that is problem free.
I purchased these 2 items less than 5 months ago. The fridge stopped making ice, and the range is not working at all. I called LG and they sent a tech to fix it. He ordered a part, replaced it, and still the same, now they canceled todays appt, for no reason, and apparently tomorrow another tech will come to check again, then they will keep changing parts and guessing what it is. I told Customer Service that I have been like these for 2 wks already, with nowhere to cook, and I needed these to be fix ASAP. I told them to please change my new range for another one. Mine has become refurbish since they keep replacing parts, its not original no more. But LG continues to allegate, that they cannot do anything but just wait for the tech to see what it is. They say they cannot change my equipment for a new one, it can ONLY be repaired. I hope any issues like this will be covered under the Manufacturers Warranty, but I can see this is not true. At the end the Consumer can not even respond in the proper way and solve anything. What a shame. I am very disappointed, and for sure WILL NOT BUY OR RECOMMEND THIS BRAND TO ANYBODY.
LG DIRECT DRIVE 7 KG F1292QDP25 - I bought the washing machine in Dubai and shipped to India. It worked hardly 50 hrs and started malfunctioning. A service request was logged thru a Dealer in Kerala and the Mechanic attended the case promptly. He confirmed the Electronic Control Board was damaged and it was why the program were not running properly. I spoke to the local service manager and he confirmed that warranty could not be given for the machines purchased outside India. However, asked him to order the part but, he could not get āany response from LG for the last two months. As the machine stopped working I contacted the local Distributor in Dubai last week but, they also did not keep stock. For getting the Part from Korea they wanted me to pay Dh.650 which is almost half the cost of a new machine.
LG model no. WT4870CW dropped off this morning brand new. After delivery, delivery guy set up and did the programmed test run. This checks if water is supplied, if it vibrates excessively or drains. All looked fine until I did a small load of laundry which came out unclean. Then on second try, I noticed tub basin filled up all the way to the top and agitator didnt work properly. I even made comment that it was so quiet...well when agitator is not doing its job, its super quiet. After trying different cycles and settings and after motor started to smell like it was burning rubber, I called home depot. The sales man gave me a lesson in how much detergent to put in, reasons why clothes arent getting clean, and told me to unplug it, wait 3 minutes, then try again. After explaining Im 30 and know how to do laundry, I explained again about water filling up in wash cycle and agitator not working. He said he would call LG and have a new one out to us IN A WEEK. After already waiting a week and half for first new washer, still blows my mind when a sales person does not apologize for the inconvenience or broken machine THEY sold.Im under no impression LG will stop making worthless machines for a ton of money, but listen up all the peeps in customer service, KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY. SAY YOURE SORRY. DONT MAKE EXCUSES OR GET DEFENSIVE. Does the machine not working say something about you? Or is it your ego that needs to blame the customer by default? Some customers are rude but others are just like you trying to do their best to figure out a solution to the small and big obstacles they face. If you cant at least say sorry or be respectful...think about finding another job that fits you better. LG fail and Home Depot fail. Pretty disappointed.
Our 2 year old LG refrigerator (LFX31945ST) stopped cooling. Called LG and they sent a link to troubleshoot it, and was useless. Called LG back and they had me do the Smart Sensor test over the phone, and said they saw that the fridge wasnt working but couldnt tell me any details and gave me 3 numbers to call for local company to come fix it... To be continued...
Right after 1 year warranty, my washer which is upstairs flooded my downstairs. Often people think it is a bad hose. Brand new house and everything. The rear tub assembly was at fault. Just a faulty machine, lucky us. They had me running circles to try to pay a claim. Finally I just paid out of pocket to fix downstairs ceiling, electrical etc. The washer continued to be a problem, rusting on the side near the top and we would see some water running down the side. Repairman said he sees this all the time. Water will spray out the seam near the top. NEXT, Dryer runs when door is shut continuously. Just spoke to a woman who lost her whole house to fire with same problem. Going to buy simple Maytag now.
Iām very disappointed in my LG refrigerator. I only had it 3 years and it broke down twice. Both times we had no refrigerator for almost two weeks. The second time was a compressor which between the repair company and LG suppliers it did not make our Life Good. The new compressor is report-ably an improved version of the original compressor, which begs the question why the cheap one first and what other parts do LG appliances have that are inferior and unreliable. I will never buy an LG product again. I also had medicine that needed to be refrigerated and LG didnāt even care, I was so inconvenienced for almost 2 weeks I had to throw out food and again they didnāt care. Lee and Mary Lou.
My LG washer/dryer lasted a for a few years, then promptly stopped drying. Authorized service tech came out 4 times, each time replacing more stuff, the typical blind replacement strategy without doing any real diagnostic work. Several hundred dollars of new parts, incidentally I have the old parts in hand and they tested fine. Anyway, it still doesnt dry any better, but somehow passed a self test. Tech said that the support guy he was talking to at factory said we should get a new unit, but when I call to begin this process, LG says they cant authorize that because the self test passed. Call me crazy but the ultimate test of a dryer is whether it dries clothes. LG says it is normal for the clothes to come out of these combo machine dryers somewhat wet. Theyve also discontinued this model (WM-3988HWA). I wonder why. Perhaps Im not the only consumer who expects a dryer to dry things. Dismal support by LG. Yes, it is out of warranty, but if they cant fix it at any price and have discontinued the product, that to me means the product is defective and a prorated refund/exchange should be offered.
Bought a Lg Refrigerator model #LMXS30776S. Production date 4-2015. Linear compressor failed and neither section will cool. All food went bad and Iām disabled on a fixed income. This is the second time this has failed on this exact refrigerator. Customer should not be responsible for any charges including labor because it is a flaw in the design and LG knows this and continues to manufacture ālinearā compressors that they know have issues and have several lawsuits for. My refrigerator should be fixed free of any charges as it is their design flaw. I can not afford labor charges to fix this overpriced paperweight or sealed cupboard because thatās all it is good for now. Didnāt last more than 5 years with an already replaced compressor. Shame on LG not taking responsibility for their design flaws and putting the stress and costs on customers.
My mom purchased an LG washing machine over a year ago and we have had nothing but problems. The washing machine will say UE which is uneven. You could have a large or small load and it will go uneven. When you restart the load, it will add more time and then go uneven again. There are times it will take over an hour to complete a load. You can never do small loads! I will never purchase an LG washer again. I want to get rid of this machine so bad, hard when we have paid so much for this washer. According to other reviews this is a very common issue with these washers.
LG microwave was part of the kitchen appliances in the home we bought last year. It appeared to be fairly new. Within 6 months the door frame cracked then the handle broke off. Its noisy when it runs and the configuration of the buttons and functions is confusing. Ive never figured out the soften button. Glad we didnt actually purchase it ourselves but will now have to replace it.
I liked the refrigerator. A lot of people recommended it to me to use because they use the same good brand. It reliable and something you can depend on. It keeps a sense of clean. Kept my food frozen. All my food and drinking items was fresh. Every time I put some in the refrigerator it was wasnt harmed. I love my ice maker and all the good features on it. I could recommend the refrigerator to anybody to try out and use. I bought it at a reasonable price and value. The refrigerator has met my expectations. Kids lunches and all are fresh and well kept for the next day. All of my food is safe and ready to cook each time. The refrigerator has been good and I love it. I would recommend it to family and friends or anybody looking for a good brand.
LGs customer service department is by far the worst company I have ever encountered. They have had repair company come to my house 3 times, not able to fix the problem. Had told me no part order was placed, the repair guy gave me invoice numbers for the parts order. The countless phone call to LG were a joke. Last one they tried tell me the the repair was cancelled, right after the repair company left my house. Tried the dryer and call them to tell them it still was not working. Asking for a supervisor and being disconnected twice, he told me the service provider was a third party. LG was the ones who set up the repair in the first place. I ruined over $400.00 worth of clothing, because LG told me to use time dry. Was not a good idea! I asked for a replacement and LG refused to condemn the dryer. I was put off, lied to, and had been given a run around by LG And had enough. I call Home depot. On the first call told me that they would make good on not only the dryer but the washer being that they were a set. Thank you Home Depot!!!!
LG Steam Washer WM2501h*A - I have been satisfied with this washer, except for its occasional inability to properly spin bulky or mixed loads. However all that changed the weekend before Thanksgiving when it apparently completed a load of clothes and then completely stopped functioning - no lights, no error messages, nothing. My husband did a bit of troubleshooting to make sure it was getting power (it was) and checking online. He suspected it needed a new motherboard. We found a local repairman who was able to come out the next day and he determined that was indeed the problem. This washer is less than 3 years old, and after having an old workhorse of a heavy-duty Kenmore that worked reliably for more than 20 years, with minimal problem, I was very disappointed this new fancy machine was already having a problem with a repair cost of $350. We bought LG because they were getting good reviews, and spent a pretty good piece of change on both the washer and dryer - I would never have expected to have any problem in this short of a time frame. I probably should have stuck with an old top-loader with old proven mechanism instead of trying to go green and save a little water... incredibly disappointed in LG.
We have had our refrigerator for ten months and the compressor went out. They couldnt find anyone to get it serviced and gave me the runaround. No one speaks English well and they were having a party in the background.
I have read through almost every comment on here and have to agree with how dissatisfied I am and what a disappointment these machines are. Class action suit please! I have the squeaky tub and mildew/musty smell I cant get rid of. Additionally, hot water is non-existent. It seems in my machine and I cant seem to select Sanitize no matter what I press. Oh, and bleach? I cant tell you how many loads of clothes have been ruined because the bleach does not fully wash out of the dispenser in one wash. It leaks into other loads afterwards.Seriously, a class-action suit needs to be started. How is it that a company / product has so many widespread complaints and concerns with mostly nothing being done about these problems and yet are still able to market their products without any consequences? Lastly, Sandy who has commented on this page is obviously affiliated with LG. I could go on and on with many valid points decimating her comments, but suffice it to say that a washing machine that you have to baby to keep running is a piece of garbage.
I purchased the LG Dishwasher LSDS4821ST on Nov 30, 2008. I have only used it 3 times since 2008. The dishwasher left too much water in the machine after drying the dishes. The dishes also were not clean nor were they dry. I did call for service during the warranty period only to be told that the left over water is normal, and that the dishes were air dried with a new lg system. The few times that I used the washer I had to clean the excess water at the bottom of the inside of the machine. The dishes were also wet. The last straw was when the dish soap dispenser would not open. That was in 2013, and I have not used it since. The LG customer service gives you the run-around. I have an LG washer and dryer with plenty of problems. Do not buy LG anything, not even a phone.
We had purchased a LG 3 door refrigerator in 2014 month of October, yesterday it stopped cooling or making ice. We called the number listed on the refrigerator. Got a automated system that sent us a text message to troubleshoot the problem. We did exa5 as was given in the text. Waited 24 hours, woke up this morning and that refrigerator was still not cooling or made any ice. Called LG back. Spoke with one of their service representatives who informed me what I already knew that if it was my compressor I have a 10 year warranty on this part but I would have to pay a service call charge and a labour charges if it was the compressor. The charges were as follows. 125.00 for the service call and if compressor labour is 250.00. Researching online I found that there a class action lawsuit against them for this issue. They have known about this and have kept continuing to sell these refrigerators with this issue. Also while researching I found out that this happens after 5 years and my extended warranty has expired. This is not right. I asked the representative about my food loss and he state to me after I had this repair done to call back and speak to a customer service representative and they would give me a compensation for my food loss but I needed receipts for the food I had in my refrigerator. I asked him who keeps their receipts and he brushed it off by stating call after the repair is complete and speak to the food loss department. I have a receipt but it wont let me upload. Says my file is bigger than 5MB. I will never buy a lg product again. A very disgruntled customer. Ivan
I purchased LG stainless double-door bottom freezer refrigerator model #lfy25980st in 2009. I purchased a two-year extended warranty on the item. From the first six months, the ice maker and water dispenser worker poorly. Servicemen were out several times attempting to repair it. Finally they replaced it. I woke up several times after that to water all over my kitchen floor where water was running from dispenser. Then in September of 2011, I came home from vacation to find all the food in the freezer thawed and milk spoiled in fridge. In December that same year, the food on top shelf of fridge was frozen. I was told that I had the vents blocked with too much food. In 2012, the digital lock signal on the door panel would make sounds turning on and off the lock which turns off the water and ice dispenser. It made this noise all night. At this time, my warranty was up and I was using my home warranty plan at $55.00 per visit with a visit sometimes twice a month. I lost food at $400.00 a second time. The service men came out, changed the freezer sensor twice, replaced freezer door on unit and changed the motherboard in back of unit. It still didnt work properly. My home warranty company called LG, spoke to a gentleman named Alex who deemed it unrepairable on March 29th, 2014 with a wiring problem. I was told to send in my proof of purchase and repair history and they would replace or discount another one. Today, 5/8/2014, they have done nothing. As a matter of fact, I was told that since I had a warranty company, they would do nothing. The company only covers $500.00 per year on any covered item and they had already spent that trying to repair it. I would think LG could make a unit that works, not just looks good. Not even two good years. No one should ever buy LG products; I know that is it for my family!!
I bought a top loading LG washer from Home Depot in March 2016. By October 2016 it was smelling like mold & mildew. I did everything I was suppose to: use washer cleaner in it and run cleaner cycle once a month, it continued to get worse. I contacted LG Customer Service & Tech Support in December 2016, they scheduled a repairman to come out. He put cleaner in it & ran a cycle, and confirmed the smell. I called a week later, complained again. They sent repairmen out 5 times over the next 3 months who each did the same thing and confirmed the washer stinks, at this it reeks, and each time they said it was unrepairable. But, LG would not deem it unrepairable over the phone on Tech Support with the repairman and this is the only way you can get a new washer. Two different repair services were coming out at this point and both refused LG request after multiple visits to my house. So 3.5 months later I had wasted 5 work days waiting on repairmen time windows of 5 to 6 hours to come to my house, pour cleaner in my washer (which I am a very competent, college-educated person who can pour cleaner in a washer and press a button) & then have both repair companies tell me they will no longer waste their time coming to my house. I also has a plumber come out and inspect my lines and hookups ($114.00) cost to me and tell me the smell was definitely coming from washer. Now, LG says nothing else they can do!! I was sold a lemon, had it less than six months, and started having issues. LG is the worse company I have ever dealt with. They make you jump through hoops like a circus dog and beat you down hoping you will just give up. This company needs to be held accountable for their non-actions. Please do not buy LG products!
The LG washer and dryer are the best ones I ever had, they wash and dry great and had very few problems with them. Have them for 11 years, I would buy the same brand if I needed a new pair. They also fit a lot of clothes with no problem.
Do not buy LG products! I purchased an LG refrigerator LFX21960ST from Home Depot. The refrigerator is only 4 years old and the fan for the freezer has failed. I purchased the extended warranty. I just spoke with the LG customer service organization and what a loser company. It will take 2 days to get service repair and in the meantime, the food in my freezer will be lost. The people I spoke to at LG were completely unconcerned about helping with my repair and made no effort to get service personnel to my house earlier so that I will not lose all the food in my freezer. I will never buy another LG product! Loser company!
This is the worst company and worst products I have ever seen! My new LG dishwasher that was bought in 2013 died in 2015 and needed to be completely replaced! The refrigerator that I bought in 2013 died at the end of 2016 and has not been able to be repaired and LG wants to charge tons of money to replace the compressor which is what failed after 6 weeks and 4 visits by repair companies came to try and fix it! It has a 10 year warranty but when I called its on parts only! They want to charge for parts even though they say its covered! Dont buy LG!! They have the worst products and service I have ever seen!
Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.
The fridge started to have problems before it was 1 yr old, after 3 months of replacing parts in order to find the problem, I could either get it replaced with the same LG or similar LG model or a store credit. The store deducted almost $300.- from the amount that was allowed, but I didnt want another LG refrigerator so I lost money on it.
We bought a very expensive LG French door bottom freezer, with an ice maker in the door fridge. It has never worked right. The ice maker was repaired 4-5 times during warranty. The compressor failed within 4 years, and it never keeps the right temperature, constantly freezing food in the fridge. We set it at 45-47, it does 30-32. Weāre throwing away lots of vegetables ruined by freezing. Even worse, when we needed repair for the compressor, under warranty, we contacted LG. Their repairman came out and said he would order the part, and then we never heard from him again. Only one local vendor would work on it. The rest said they refuse to work on LG, thereās no support in the US. NEVER BUY AN LG APPLIANCE. THEYRE ONLY GOOD FOR ELECTRONICS!!!
I bought an LG refrigerator 3 years ago and have had nothing but problems. I have had techs out on multiple occasions. I will never buy anything with the name LG on it again. Between Sears screwing things up and LG not being able to build quality product I am once again out more money. I called LG and was told that I needed an order number after they sent the wrong parts to begin with. The rep from Sears said I should have had LG fix it and shouldnt have gotten the very expensive service plan to begin with. I called LG and they said they knew that the refrigerator was not quality but that they would only cover parts. I now have a broken refrigerator and no idea how to get it fixed. My advice is to never buy LG EVER!!!
I just looked up LG on Google to get company information because the lights on my french door LG purchased in 2006 melted the covering. After reading other complaints, I feel that my time may be wasted with calling the company, but will do so anyway. It appears with all these complaints, that LG may be a product I will stay away from in future. One of the plastic drawers broke early on but the light problem bothers me.
My 10 month old french door refrigerators fan starting making a loud noise. I looked up my problem on the internet and found that my unit has a know frost buildup issue. I called LG since it was still under warranty. They diagnosed the unit over the phone and scheduled a service appointment for me. A new control panel was mailed out to me. The tech was supposed to be at my home between 8 am and noon yesterday. I received a phone call the night before confirming him for between 10 and noon. The tech did not show up until 1:05. He then proceeded to empty out my fridge, remove all of the shelves and the bins. The vent behind the veggie bin was encrusted with ice which he melted and chiseled away. Then the back panel inside was removed which revealed the entire coil frozen and encrusted with ice. It took until after 3 PM for him to melt all of the ice which resulted in my having towels both wet and dry all over the kitchen, a bucket for the excess water, not to mention my food, bins and shelves strewn about. The tech pulled out the fridge and replaced the control panel on the back. Then came the process of putting everything back together and putting all of the food back in. I then had to wash a load of towels and clean the fingerprints and streaks off of the stainless steel fridge. Well the first thing that I noticed was the once firm and solid bin holder now wobbles. But that is not the worse part, the worse part is that today, one day later, the fridge has begun to make the same sound and the ice is already forming around the vent. I was assured the control panel (brain) would fix the problem. Well it seems to me that this is not the case and I know have to go through this again not knowing if the LG tech can figure out what actually is wrong. I called for another appointment and was told that as of now none is available for Monday or Tuesday so I have to call back on Monday to see when the next available appointment will be. Why should a new appliance have these issues? Why shouldnt an LG tech be able to diagnose and fix the problem on the first business? Why shouldnt I be able to get an immediate appointment for a return visit to rectify the problem? Im regretting my decision to go with LG. I should have purchased a Samsung refrigerator. I own an LG Phone, an LG smart TV and this refrigerator. I will never purchase another LG product again. Am I expected to miss another day of work to be available for service, suffer the mess and inconvenience of the repair process and then not know if after the second visit if it will be fixed or not?
LG reached out to get the refrigerator repaired. (It should not have broken so soon.) They need to do some improving with their servicing contacts. Speed up the communications. I will say that their service tech was top notch and the companies follow up with me was better than I expected. My fridge is working fine and it appears that LG tries to give the impression that they care.
